- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. I'm Lucas, and as always, Luna is here with me. Luna: Hey Lucas. So, last time we were at the flower shop, and I got some jasmine. That was so fun. But today, what are we doing? Lucas: Today, we're going to the vegetable market. And we're going to focus on leafy greens. You know, the kind you use in cooking. Luna: Oh, like spinach and things like that. That's exciting. I love cooking with fresh greens. Lucas: Exactly. So, first, let's learn how to say 'I want greens'. In Telugu, that is 'నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి'. Luna: నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. That's a long one. ఆకుకూరలు. What does that mean exactly? Lucas: ఆకుకూరలు means leafy greens. So 'నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి' means 'I want leafy greens'. Luna: నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. I want leafy greens. Got it. Lucas: Now, when you're at the market, you'll probably want to know the price. So, how do you ask 'How much are these?' You say 'ఇవి ఎంత?' Luna: ఇవి ఎంత? How much are these? Simple. Lucas: Yes. And you can point to the greens and ask that. Let's try a mini scene. You walk up to the vendor and say 'నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. ఇవి ఎంత?' Luna: నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. ఇవి ఎంత? I want greens. How much are these? Lucas: Perfect. Now, the vendor might say the price, and then you want to buy a bunch. So, 'Give me one bunch of greens' is 'ఒక కట్ట ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి'. Luna: ఒక కట్ట ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి. One bunch of greens, please. What's the word for bunch? కట్ట? Lucas: Yes, కట్ట means bunch. So you're saying 'one bunch' and 'greens' and 'give me'. Perfect. Luna: ఒక కట్ట ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి. I like that. It has a nice rhythm. Lucas: Now, after you say that, the vendor will probably ask 'మరి ఏమైనా కావాలా?' which means 'Do you need anything else?' Luna: Oh, we learned that in the onion episode. మరి ఏమైనా కావాలా? Right? Lucas: Exactly. So you can reply with 'అంతే' which means 'That's all'. Luna: అంతే. That's all. Short and sweet. Lucas: So let's put it all together. You say 'నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. ఇవి ఎంత?' The vendor says a price. You say 'ఒక కట్ట ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి.' The vendor asks 'మరి ఏమైనా కావాలా?' And you say 'అంతే'. Luna: Okay, let me try the whole thing. నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. ఇవి ఎంత? ఒక కట్ట ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి. మరి ఏమైనా కావాలా? అంతే. Lucas: That was excellent, Luna. You sounded like a pro. And honestly, if learning Telugu has been worth a coffee to you, you can support us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. It helps keep the show ad-free. Luna: Yeah, every little bit helps. And we really appreciate it. Now, back to greens. So, how would I ask for two bunches? Lucas: For two bunches, you'd say 'రెండు కట్టల ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి'. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's practice today's phrases a few more times. Luna: Good idea. Repetition is key. So, repeat after me: నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. Lucas: నాకు ఆకుకూరలు కావాలి. Great. And ఇవి ఎంత? Luna: ఇవి ఎంత? Perfect. And ఒక కట్ట ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి. Lucas: ఒక కట్ట ఆకుకూరలు ఇవ్వండి. You got it. And finally మరి ఏమైనా కావాలా? and అంతే. Luna: మరి ఏమైనా కావాలా? అంతే. So easy. Now I feel ready to go to the market. Lucas: You are ready. Just remember, when you say 'అంతే', it means you're done shopping. And the vendor knows you're finished. Luna: That's so handy. I'm going to use that everywhere, not just at the market. Lucas: Make sure to practice these phrases. And remember, we're here with Fexingo to help you on your Telugu journey. See you next time. Luna: Bye for now. Keep practicing.
