- 0:46Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. Well, you guys, I
- 0:51Speaker 2: dropped off Brandon, my youngest of three children, to the
- 0:55Speaker 2: University of Oregon. I got this Oregon mom cup.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It was beautiful.
- 1:01Speaker 2: It was fun. A lot of people are like, why
- 1:04Speaker 2: did you send him so late in the year? What's
- 1:06Speaker 2: wrong with you? It is on a quarter system. That
- 1:10Speaker 2: is the way it works. That was our time to
- 1:12Speaker 2: move in. And You know, for many mothers that have
- 1:17Speaker 2: done it and fathers, it is an interesting, fun thing
- 1:21Speaker 2: to do. I had a great Juicy Scooper help me
- 1:23Speaker 2: do it who lives somewhere near the area and brought everything.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Shout out to Erin Chapman, Interior Designs. She like ordered
- 1:31Speaker 2: all the stuff because we flew up there and, you know,
- 1:35Speaker 2: did my final goodbye. And so far, it's good. It's fine.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But one of the reasons... That I'm going to be
- 1:44Speaker 2: okay is because I booked a bunch of dates in October,
- 1:47Speaker 2: you guys, so that I would be not in my sad,
- 1:51Speaker 2: lonely home with no giant feet making sound down the hall.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So I need you guys to come and laugh. I
- 1:59Speaker 2: have saved juicy stories for you. I have funny new

- 2:26Speaker 2: And October 19th, Chicago. All those four dates are with Chris.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Then I'm back in Irvine, November 8th, 9th, and 10th.

- 2:57Speaker 2: the info that they send you, and I'll see you there.
- 3:00Speaker 2: And now I'm really excited to give you a super
- 3:03Speaker 2: juicy show. Hello, and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I have
- 3:07Speaker 2: a fun new... First time guest at Juicy Scoop, but
- 3:13Speaker 2: probably so many of you are familiar with him. He's
- 3:15Speaker 2: been on Watch What Happens Live. He's a comedian. He's
- 3:18Speaker 2: a singer. He's a star. Matt Rogers, welcome.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I feel spiritually I've been here before.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I know, well, yes.
- 3:25Speaker 1: But you didn't remember when we first met.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 3:28Speaker 1: It hurt my feelings.
- 3:28Speaker 2: But I do remember going to the show and everything.
- 3:31Speaker 3: No, honestly, you came to my Christmas show a few
- 3:34Speaker 3: years ago with dear friend Gary Branham.
- 3:36Speaker 2: At the Melrose Improv.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, at the Melrose Improv.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And now I'm here sort of because it's gotten like, yeah,
- 3:41Speaker 3: there it is.
- 3:42Speaker 2: That was kind of your original thing is that you
- 3:44Speaker 2: would do like a really fun kind of variety Christmas show.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yeah, so now it's become an album and it's like
- 3:49Speaker 3: a whole tour that I go around the country with.
- 3:51Speaker 3: So it's my favorite thing to do every year.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I love it. So you have all these huge dates
- 3:55Speaker 2: in December.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Look at that, liked by Countess Luann. Can you believe it?
- 4:01Speaker 3: We're showing for the people that are just listening to this,
- 4:03Speaker 3: we have the Instagram in the back. And it's just
- 4:07Speaker 3: like showing the likes and the first one liked by
- 4:09Speaker 3: Countess Luann.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I love it.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Then everybody should go.
- 4:12Speaker 3: It means her gay intern is definitely coming. The gay
- 4:16Speaker 3: who's in charge of her socials is absolutely interested in
- 4:19Speaker 3: the show. And she probably still doesn't know who I am.
- 4:23Speaker 3: We met once at her show.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You know what, though? I really do like her. She's great.
- 4:29Speaker 2: And what's great about it is because she's been doing
- 4:32Speaker 2: her show so long, she does know the work and
- 4:35Speaker 2: the struggle and everything that goes into anyone doing a
- 4:38Speaker 2: live show, whether it's live stand-up, podcast, singing, whatever. So
- 4:42Speaker 2: whether this was her or the gay... intern or not.
- 4:45Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 4:45Speaker 3: It's a power move to have a gay intern.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I love that. She's a top five housewife, Luann.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Absolutely. Top five. Absolutely. And so I say, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you've been, you know, you've been, what do you call it? Um,
- 4:59Speaker 2: When you become like a royal, like anointed?
- 5:02Speaker 1: She's been anointed.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yes, anointed.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I've been anointed by Luann.
- 5:06Speaker 2: By the Countess.
- 5:06Speaker 1: The Countess.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I am the Prince of Christmas. It is called the
- 5:08Speaker 3: Prince of Christmas Tour. So this is all a lot
- 5:11Speaker 3: of royal imagery.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Wow.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I'm feeling very good about it.
- 5:13Speaker 2: The world is coming together. Well, we have so much
- 5:16Speaker 2: juicy stuff to discuss.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Truly.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And listen, I have talked a lot about P. Diddy
- 5:22Speaker 2: and I just have to tell you what has happened
- 5:25Speaker 2: over the weekend. But we have lots of other funny
- 5:27Speaker 2: stuff to talk about. Um, have you heard about the
- 5:31Speaker 2: talk about Ashton Kutcher and P Diddy?
- 5:33Speaker 1: I have.
- 5:34Speaker 3: And I've also heard some crazy conspiracy theories that are out.
- 5:37Speaker 1: There and it's getting wild.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Like, I don't know what to, it's at the point
- 5:41Speaker 3: now where it's like, it's getting crazier and crazier and
- 5:44Speaker 3: you wouldn't believe it anyway.
- 5:45Speaker 1: So now I'm like, sure, what else is true? But
- 5:47Speaker 1: I did hear about Ashton being connected. It's, I don't
- 5:50Speaker 1: like thinking about it.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Well, so Ashton and he have been friends for a
- 5:54Speaker 2: long time. You know, you always wonder how close are
- 5:57Speaker 2: really friends and whatever.
- 5:59Speaker 1: If you're at my freak off, we're probably pretty close.
- 6:02Speaker 3: If I invite you to my freak off, which is
- 6:03Speaker 3: probably like watching Housewives and smoking weed, maybe ordering a pizza,
- 6:08Speaker 3: that's a freak off for me.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But if you're there, you're my girl.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Right. And so Kendra Wilkinson of Playboy fame, now a realtor,
- 6:16Speaker 2: very nice mom. I know her, she's been on the show.
- 6:20Speaker 2: She did speak up and she goes, yeah, I went
- 6:22Speaker 2: to two of the parties. I never saw anything weird
- 6:25Speaker 2: like that. Not saying bad shit didn't happen. Just not
- 6:29Speaker 2: my two experiences. My experience was, yeah. Right. So it's like,
- 6:32Speaker 2: and then other people are just complete cricket silence.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:35Speaker 2: And I kind of get that, too, because it's probably like, well,
- 6:37Speaker 2: if you say something, then it becomes a story. Now,
- 6:40Speaker 2: people might not have ever known that you went. So
- 6:42Speaker 2: I get why people are being careful.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I think this is something where people just don't want
- 6:46Speaker 1: their name in the same sentence.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 6:47Speaker 3: So it's just like, and I'm sure everyone's PR across-
- 6:51Speaker 3: all towns is like, listen, if you were involved, shut
- 6:55Speaker 3: the fuck up.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Right, exactly.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Until you're incriminated and then come out with a good
- 6:58Speaker 3: explanation because this is dark, dark, dark.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It's the darkest.
- 7:02Speaker 2: It's the worst. And so anyway, he, to remind yourself,
- 7:05Speaker 2: to remind you of Ashton Kutcher. So he was on
- 7:08Speaker 2: that 70s show with Mila Kunis, but he was over 21,
- 7:13Speaker 2: but they were just like playing brother and sister friends
- 7:17Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 7:17Speaker 1: They were, they dated on the show. Like that was
- 7:20Speaker 1: a whole thing.
- 7:21Speaker 2: They said they didn't.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Well, not them, the people, but their characters dated. And
- 7:25Speaker 3: she was 14 when she was playing that role and
- 7:27Speaker 3: he was in his 20s.
- 7:28Speaker 2: And she did have her first kiss ever on set
- 7:30Speaker 2: with him.
- 7:31Speaker 1: With him.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Then he goes off to marry Demi Moore. Sure. And
- 7:35Speaker 2: found himself in an unfortunate situation in a hot tub
- 7:38Speaker 2: in San Diego with a couple girls. And, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 2: that girl wasn't told. And anyway, they get divorced. Then
- 7:44Speaker 2: he and Mila get married and have two kids. And
- 7:47Speaker 2: they say, we don't use soap or we don't shower.
- 7:49Speaker 2: That was a big thing. But throughout the Demi marriage
- 7:53Speaker 2: and the Mila marriage, he's had a big charity that
- 7:57Speaker 2: he's run, anti-sex trafficking and revealing sex trafficking and speaking
- 8:02Speaker 2: on it.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Really?
- 8:03Speaker 2: In, like, government places. Yes. Meanwhile, his friend from that
- 8:10Speaker 2: 70s show, who is a Scientologist.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Masterson.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yes. Danny Masterson. He goes through several trials, several victims
- 8:19Speaker 2: for sexual assault, all that stuff. In the beginning of that,
- 8:23Speaker 2: there's a letter from Ashton saying, you know, what a
- 8:26Speaker 2: great guy he is.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah, they wrote the letter of character.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yes. Also, one time Ashton Kutcher also had a horrible,
- 8:34Speaker 2: unfortunate thing happen. He was going to pick up his
- 8:36Speaker 2: girlfriend for a date and he looked through the window
- 8:37Speaker 2: and she was dead. And he didn't go to the police.
- 8:41Speaker 2: He went to Danny Masterson's house, the Scientologist, just to
- 8:46Speaker 2: figure out what to do. He was never implicated in that.
- 8:49Speaker 2: But that's the story. So then, so of course, he's
- 8:53Speaker 2: going to give Danny Masterson that nice letter of like,
- 8:55Speaker 2: always was a delight when we hung out. Never tried
- 8:58Speaker 2: anything on me. So clearly couldn't have done it with
- 9:00Speaker 2: anybody else. So all that being said, Danny gets convicted.
- 9:05Speaker 2: He's The over the weekend also there was talk that
- 9:08Speaker 2: Mila was moving out. That's not true. They were seen
- 9:10Speaker 2: like going to Costco together or something, whatever. Also, Costco
- 9:14Speaker 2: has spoken. They don't sell baby oil. What? They don't
- 9:18Speaker 2: sell baby oil.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Oh, that feels crazy.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't sell baby oil. And I had joked
- 9:22Speaker 2: about saying, oh, what's he going to say? He went
- 9:24Speaker 2: to Costco. And then even his own attorney, P. Diddy, said, well,
- 9:27Speaker 2: you know, near all of his mansions, there's a Costco,
- 9:30Speaker 2: you know, within a few miles. But then, no, they
- 9:33Speaker 2: don't sell baby oil. So a lot of people think.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Why would they confiscate 1,000 bottles of baby oil? They
- 9:42Speaker 2: think that there's a liquid GHB possibly in it.
- 9:45Speaker 4: I see.
- 9:45Speaker 2: So then, like, rub it on you, whatever, and.
- 9:48Speaker 1: It makes you more whatever. Yeah, well, there's got to
- 9:49Speaker 1: be some reason for 1,000 of them.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Very strange. So, now with this, just that they, he, he,
- 9:57Speaker 2: there's all these videos coming up, you know, and if
- 9:59Speaker 2: you ever mentioned P Diddy being in delight, inviting you anywhere,
- 10:03Speaker 2: it's on Tik TOK, it's been cut. It's we've, people
- 10:06Speaker 2: are seeing it and some things are wrong. Like they're,
- 10:08Speaker 2: they're showing a video of, um, uh, of, uh, Justin
- 10:12Speaker 2: Bieber in the back seat, all like, and they're like,
- 10:15Speaker 2: what did he do to him? It's a video from
- 10:17Speaker 2: when he got his wisdom teeth removed. And he's in
- 10:19Speaker 2: the backseat with people who love him who are filming.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Did you see that interview with Justin Bieber talking about
- 10:25Speaker 3: Billie Eilish?
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:26Speaker 3: There was an interview with Justin Bieber talking about Billie
- 10:28Speaker 3: Eilish and he gets really emotional talking about wanting to
- 10:31Speaker 3: protect her. And it gives, to me, like that kid
- 10:35Speaker 3: had went through some stuff.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I 100%, and then the other part is like, stop
- 10:40Speaker 2: talking about it. Maybe he doesn't want people to know
- 10:42Speaker 2: he was a victim or whatever. But I 100%, in
- 10:44Speaker 2: my opinion- Yes, he was with the whole Usher. Then,
- 10:50Speaker 2: you know, Usher has has said things and Usher. Then
- 10:53Speaker 2: he goes, I have a 48 hour custody of Usher.
- 10:57Speaker 2: And I mean, a story of Justin Bieber. And so is.
- 11:01Speaker 3: That kid hanging out with adults? I mean, like at
- 11:03Speaker 3: that point, it's just like it's it's never going to
- 11:07Speaker 3: look right. When you look back in retrospect that that 14,
- 11:09Speaker 3: 15 year old kid was just jamming out. With people
- 11:13Speaker 3: that were over double his age.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Like, it's so bizarre. I think it's the same thing
- 11:17Speaker 2: that happened with the R. Kelly parents, where they are
- 11:21Speaker 2: unfamiliar with the business, which most stage parents are, unless
- 11:24Speaker 2: you're a nepo baby. You don't know how the fuck
- 11:27Speaker 2: something happened. Yeah. And so then they're like, oh, my God,
- 11:30Speaker 2: this is a great opportunity. He's going to have access
- 11:34Speaker 2: to all the music, and they're going to give him hits.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 2: And nobody... You know, just like a Michael Jackson. Nobody's like...
- 11:41Speaker 2: I don't think any parent knowingly in any of those
- 11:44Speaker 2: situations was like, have my kid. Do what you want
- 11:47Speaker 2: with him. Yeah, right. And so that we can be rich.
- 11:50Speaker 2: But Usher had said things early on. Like, I saw
- 11:53Speaker 2: some crazy stuff. Like in 2004, he's like, I saw
- 11:55Speaker 2: people having sex in a room. Like, there's a quote
- 11:58Speaker 2: like that. So... Yeah. But with him... Yeah, it's just
- 12:03Speaker 2: very strange. And the Cut is writing about it, just
- 12:06Speaker 2: saying that people are reconsidering his reputation for the star-studded
- 12:10Speaker 2: parties and his relationships with A-listers. So, you know, the
- 12:14Speaker 2: white party was attended by everyone from Leonardo DiCaprio to
- 12:18Speaker 2: Martha Stewart. Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 1: He did it again, Martha Stewart.
- 12:21Speaker 3: That was like a friendship that everyone loved back in
- 12:23Speaker 3: the day. It was like, can you believe they're best friends?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Oh, they're Hampton's friends. Yeah, right.
- 12:27Speaker 1: All rich people have that in common.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Right. And then, but with him, Again, there's a quote
- 12:32Speaker 2: where he's like, I saw some crazy.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Stuff like in 2019.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of there's a lot of that
- 12:38Speaker 2: kind of stuff. Also, a law firm in Texas is
- 12:41Speaker 2: representing more than 50 alleged victims. So a whole new
- 12:46Speaker 2: a whole new thing is going on that were sexually
- 12:49Speaker 2: assaulted by him. Also, a lawyer for Sean Combs accuser
- 12:54Speaker 2: claims that she saw a very high profile person featured
- 12:59Speaker 2: in a tape. allegedly connected to Diddy.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Someone more high profile than the music mogul. So someone
- 13:06Speaker 3: even bigger than Diddy.
- 13:07Speaker 2: So, of course, people are thinking everything from, you know,
- 13:10Speaker 2: and they're not saying, well, they are saying this. They're
- 13:12Speaker 2: saying people are, everyone can have an opinion. So people
- 13:15Speaker 2: are saying, you know, is it a former president? Is
- 13:18Speaker 2: it a, you know, former talk show host? Is it,
- 13:21Speaker 2: who is in this thing? So, you know, everyone's shaking
- 13:25Speaker 2: in their boots. And then I'll be sure that, He
- 13:30Speaker 2: sent a cease and desist to the author of the
- 13:32Speaker 2: Kim Porter book. So that Kim Porter book that came
- 13:36Speaker 2: out on Amazon, which I'm glad I was predicted that.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I don't think I didn't think it was authentic. I
- 13:42Speaker 2: didn't think it was there was any way to prove
- 13:43Speaker 2: it was for real words.
- 13:45Speaker 1: So it's not.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I well, we I just think they don't know how
- 13:48Speaker 2: to prove where it came from. I think someone like
- 13:51Speaker 2: if all of a sudden I just sold a book
- 13:53Speaker 2: on Amazon and published it myself. and put Kim Porter's
- 13:56Speaker 2: secret diaries, and then got thousands of people to buy
- 14:01Speaker 2: it and read it, I can just say, yeah, we
- 14:07Speaker 2: were friends. Our kids went to preschool together, she gave
- 14:09Speaker 2: me her diary, these are her, who's to say what
- 14:11Speaker 2: it is? But the way it read, and there was
- 14:14Speaker 2: a couple timeline things that didn't work out with history
- 14:17Speaker 2: and whatever, and it felt kind of weird. So he's like, hey,
- 14:24Speaker 2: you know, I don't agree with that. So then my
- 14:28Speaker 2: whole thing I'm obsessed with is Jaguar Wright.
- 14:31Speaker 1: What is that?
- 14:32Speaker 2: You have not seen Jaguar Wright all over TikTok.
- 14:34Speaker 1: No, what is Jaguar Wright?
- 14:35Speaker 2: She's this former, well not former, but she was a
- 14:39Speaker 2: songwriter and she has been doing interviews for like, I
- 14:43Speaker 2: don't even know how many years, probably like on YouTubes
- 14:45Speaker 2: and things like that in the hip hop world. Dropping hints,
- 14:49Speaker 2: like riddles about everything. So now that's all coming up
- 14:53Speaker 2: and she's like, And I'm kind of working on an
- 14:56Speaker 2: impression of her because it's like, I'm so obsessed with,
- 14:59Speaker 2: she'll be like, oh, don't you know why they weren't
- 15:06Speaker 2: at the white party? Because they couldn't be. Because P-Dawg is,
- 15:14Speaker 2: and like, and then there's like all these other weird
- 15:17Speaker 2: like hip hop names that I'm not familiar with. And
- 15:20Speaker 2: then she'll just keep dropping things like, But let's be honest.
- 15:26Speaker 2: She always says, let's be honest, and everybody knows. I'm like, no,
- 15:29Speaker 2: not everybody knows. You're telling us. And some of the
- 15:32Speaker 2: things are a little far-fetched, where you're like, but everything,
- 15:35Speaker 2: we thought all of this was far-fetched. We thought what
- 15:38Speaker 2: Cat Williams was saying was far-fetched. And now we're like,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I guess it wasn't. I don't know.
- 15:41Speaker 3: When Cat Williams came out and said all that stuff,
- 15:43Speaker 3: I kind of believed every word of it. Because I
- 15:45Speaker 3: was just like, what is he, why would he come
- 15:47Speaker 3: out here and say this?
- 15:49Speaker 2: I just thought the $ 50 million was a little, I
- 15:52Speaker 2: was offered $ 50 million four times.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I think we forget how rich these people are. That's what,
- 15:58Speaker 3: I mean, listen.
- 15:59Speaker 1: The whole thing kind of freaks me out.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Have you ever been propositioned in your Hollywood career For something.
- 16:07Speaker 2: To do what?
- 16:08Speaker 1: Propositioned?
- 16:09Speaker 2: Propositioned to do something sexual in exchange for an opportunity.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Maybe it's not laid out. Maybe it's a wink wink.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Maybe it's just someone acting like they're interested in you,
- 16:19Speaker 2: but they are actually could really help you.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I think that with gays, it might be a little.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Wait, you're gay?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 16:25Speaker 3: I mean, did my Brooks Marks hat give me away?
- 16:28Speaker 3: I feel I was put on this earth to do
- 16:30Speaker 3: two things. Make people laugh and sell Brooks Marks.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Merch.
- 16:34Speaker 3: So I'm here on the Juicy Scoop podcast wearing this
- 16:37Speaker 3: excellent black hat with red letters.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Great job, Brooks.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Well, I really appreciate you wearing Brooksy's.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Is that your Meredith?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yes, Brooksy's hat. He's worked very hard.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Meredith actually is the one that sent it.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Oh, I love it. Well, of course I sent it
- 16:49Speaker 2: to you.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Actually, I got in touch with them originally because during
- 16:53Speaker 3: the pandemic, when Salt Lake first popped off, I bought
- 16:56Speaker 3: the whole Brooks-Marx sweatsuit set.
- 16:59Speaker 1: How is it? It's great.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Good.
- 17:00Speaker 1: And I have to say, for all the gays out
- 17:02Speaker 1: there listening, it sort of lifts your ass a little bit.
- 17:05Speaker 2: How does a sweatpants lift your ass?
- 17:06Speaker 3: I don't really know. They're made incredibly well. I thought
- 17:09Speaker 3: I was absolutely slaying it in this tracksuit, and I
- 17:12Speaker 3: kind of was. And I posted it, like a little
- 17:15Speaker 3: photo shoot, like a little impromptu stupid thing I did.
- 17:18Speaker 3: And then Meredith reached out, and she was like, this
- 17:21Speaker 3: is amazing, thank you for supporting Brooks, etc., And I've
- 17:23Speaker 3: since gotten a little bit of a relationship with them
- 17:27Speaker 3: and they're great and they send me some stuff and
- 17:29Speaker 3: they know to keep sending it because I will wear it.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I love it. I met him and just glowing skin.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a beautiful boy.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Beautiful boy and very sweet. So good guy. I met
- 17:40Speaker 2: him at a Sutton event.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yes, just to double down on the name drop.
- 17:45Speaker 1: You know, his new show that they're all going to
- 17:47Speaker 1: be on together.
- 17:47Speaker 2: The kids, the kids and housewives.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I was actually walking. Whatever it is.
- 17:52Speaker 3: I was walking down the street in the West Village
- 17:54Speaker 3: and I saw them shooting.
- 17:56Speaker 1: It was Gia. Gia was like sitting at a table
- 17:59Speaker 1: outside in the West Village.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Gia, Teresa's daughter. Yes.
- 18:02Speaker 3: And they were shooting some like lunch scene. And I
- 18:05Speaker 3: was like, oh, wow, here she is like following in
- 18:07Speaker 3: the footsteps.
- 18:09Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 18:09Speaker 2: We'll see how those type of things do.
- 18:11Speaker 1: We will see.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And if there's an audience for it and if like
- 18:14Speaker 2: who's going to watch it because would I be interested
- 18:16Speaker 2: in watching these kids shoot?
- 18:19Speaker 1: I think we'll all give it a shot in the
- 18:20Speaker 1: first episode. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 2: But I say, hey, go for it. I mean, that's
- 18:23Speaker 2: what you were raised in. At least you know what
- 18:26Speaker 2: the stakes are. You know what it is. You know
- 18:29Speaker 2: how to play the game.
- 18:30Speaker 1: She obviously wants to be on reality television. Otherwise, she
- 18:33Speaker 1: wouldn't be on.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Oh, she's dropping that law school career as quickly as
- 18:36Speaker 2: Kim Kardashian.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
- 18:37Speaker 2: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 18:40Speaker 2: for it? This exclusive place that Donna's connections with. they
- 18:43Speaker 2: have more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 18:46Speaker 2: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 18:48Speaker 2: It's Dune-A-D-L. Where? Dune-A-D-L.
- 18:53Speaker 1: There's an accent on the E.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Do you mean... Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars. Lift? Please.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage. No. Dundale Cars.
- 19:05Speaker 2: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 19:07Speaker 4: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 19:11Speaker 4: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 19:14Speaker 4: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 19:18Speaker 4: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 19:24Speaker 2: the Emmys, and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 19:27Speaker 2: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 19:30Speaker 2: what would you do if it was given back?
- 19:32Speaker 4: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 19:35Speaker 4: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 19:37Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad.
- 19:38Speaker 4: I need a home dad.
- 19:39Speaker 2: What happens next? When I came in, he started crying.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 19:47Speaker 4: those hard moments that they go through.
- 19:49Speaker 2: It's about what happens next.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Next.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I decided to risk it all.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 19:57Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 19:59Speaker 4: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 20:13Speaker 2: Okay, so get back to being propositioned.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I really have never really been propositioned ever. I think
- 20:18Speaker 3: sometimes it's a little casual between all gay men. You
- 20:22Speaker 3: know what I mean? Maybe there's a little bit of flirting,
- 20:25Speaker 3: but I've never had a tough situation. I've had friends
- 20:27Speaker 3: that have had tough situations. I've never done anything I.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Didn't want to do. What's a tough situation?
- 20:31Speaker 2: You don't have to name any names.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Well, I wouldn't. Okay.
- 20:33Speaker 3: But a tough situation is like, oh, they get groped
- 20:35Speaker 3: or something.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 20:37Speaker 3: Like at some sort of social event where there's like,
- 20:40Speaker 3: you know, it's like that weird gray area where it's
- 20:42Speaker 3: like a social event, but it's with people that you
- 20:44Speaker 3: could work with. It's like sort of the lines get blurred.
- 20:46Speaker 3: I feel like that's a lot of the entertainment industry.
- 20:48Speaker 3: And so I feel like I've had friends and I've,
- 20:51Speaker 3: you know, understood what situations could turn into. I'm lucky
- 20:55Speaker 3: that I've like learned things before I've been in situations
- 20:59Speaker 3: because those situations happen all the time. It's one of
- 21:01Speaker 3: the things I think that people don't talk about enough is,
- 21:05Speaker 3: you know, abuse of power between gay men. Because I
- 21:09Speaker 3: think that it's like a little shh. Because no one
- 21:11Speaker 3: wants to actually come out and be like, hey, here's
- 21:13Speaker 3: what happened with me in a gay way. People are
- 21:17Speaker 3: scared to like, it's hard enough to come out as
- 21:19Speaker 3: a victim of anything.
- 21:21Speaker 1: No matter who you are.
- 21:22Speaker 3: But then when you're also coming out with your sexuality
- 21:25Speaker 3: in a town that's still, it's better, but it's not
- 21:28Speaker 3: great in terms of like, now I'm a gay actor
- 21:31Speaker 3: as opposed to now I'm just an actor.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah, or it's like when Terry Crews You know, he
- 21:36Speaker 2: came forward and said he was inappropriately, really inappropriately groped
- 21:40Speaker 2: by a man that was high up at a huge
- 21:42Speaker 2: Hollywood agency.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that was really brave of him to do that because, again, like,
- 21:47Speaker 3: it's putting it... I think another thing, too, is, like,
- 21:50Speaker 3: the way that we assume some men are gonna be
- 21:53Speaker 3: or that they must be able to handle themselves or
- 21:55Speaker 3: that it's not gonna be something that affects them or
- 21:57Speaker 3: we're all supposed to let everything roll off our backs.
- 22:00Speaker 3: It's really traumatizing. I mean, like, it's fucked up.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Like, I.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Like I said, it's never been a situation that I've
- 22:07Speaker 3: been in to my detriment, but I.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Hear about it all the time.
- 22:12Speaker 3: And so when someone actually comes out and says something, yes,
- 22:16Speaker 3: it's brave and yes, it's important, but I'm also really
- 22:18Speaker 3: impressed because I know how people.
- 22:23Speaker 3: We live in a very judgmental world and the comment
- 22:25Speaker 3: section gets bigger and bigger and bigger and harder and
- 22:28Speaker 3: more difficult. And so to come out there and be like,
- 22:31Speaker 3: this happened to me is really fucking tough, which is
- 22:33Speaker 3: why I believe everybody.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Which is the thing is, whether you're gay or straight,
- 22:38Speaker 2: man or woman, if it's not something you're asking for
- 22:42Speaker 2: and you didn't encourage it, not encourage it, but you
- 22:44Speaker 2: didn't want it, you didn't, you know, and it came
- 22:47Speaker 2: to you as like, what? Whether it was a grab
- 22:50Speaker 2: or I whipped it out or I walked into a
- 22:53Speaker 2: space naked and you were not expecting to see a penis.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:58Speaker 2: You know, it's traumatizing and you remember it and it's
- 23:01Speaker 2: awful and it's scary and it's like, what the fuck
- 23:03Speaker 2: is going on? And so, yeah, I do think it's
- 23:05Speaker 2: really important that people– I can see why people don't
- 23:08Speaker 2: share it because then you don't want to have it
- 23:10Speaker 2: hurt your career.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Because then you're synonymous with that. Right. And unfortunately that's
- 23:14Speaker 1: the way it is.
- 23:14Speaker 3: It's like because of the way the media is, like
- 23:17Speaker 3: they're going to be more interested in that salacious thing
- 23:19Speaker 3: that happened to you than they are in like that
- 23:21Speaker 3: cool project you were in.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:23Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 23:23Speaker 3: Like you Google yourself one day and like it probably
- 23:27Speaker 3: doesn't matter if it's like five, six years after that thing.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Totally.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Like that's going to be the thing that pops up.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Totally, exactly.
- 23:33Speaker 1: It's asking to be.
- 23:37Speaker 3: In the same breath as that person who did that
- 23:40Speaker 3: to you or that situation for likely a long time,
- 23:44Speaker 3: which is why I think everyone with this Diddy stuff
- 23:46Speaker 3: is like, if they don't have to come forward, they're
- 23:50Speaker 3: clamming up because they don't want to.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Be in the same sentence as P. Diddy. I'm sure
- 23:54Speaker 1: Ashton Kutcher is in hell right now.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I remember years ago when my podcast first started, I
- 24:00Speaker 2: ended up playing a tape of this network executive. He
- 24:06Speaker 2: owned the podcast company, Podcast One, like being fully creepy
- 24:11Speaker 2: and like asking to touch my breasts and stuff like that.
- 24:14Speaker 2: And I didn't share it for a long time. And
- 24:16Speaker 2: then I was like, oh, well, here's, you know, when
- 24:20Speaker 2: it was coming up in the news with other people
- 24:22Speaker 2: having things on tape, I'm like, oh, I kind of
- 24:24Speaker 2: had something weird like that happen. And when I shared it, Um,
- 24:28Speaker 2: then it was like, well, I was just joking. I
- 24:30Speaker 2: was just joking. And I'm like, oh, well then you
- 24:32Speaker 2: should be happy that I played the joke. Don't you
- 24:34Speaker 2: want everyone to know how funny you are? Like, that's great.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So anyway, when I wanted to sort of, when I
- 24:40Speaker 2: was asking about, I did have people high up in
- 24:43Speaker 2: Hollywood be like, do you really, now that you're going
- 24:46Speaker 2: to be associated with this story, is this really the
- 24:49Speaker 2: story you want to be associated with? And I said, yes,
- 24:51Speaker 2: I do. I do want to be associated with it.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I do want people to know about it. And I
- 24:55Speaker 2: do want people to, and I do want young women
- 24:59Speaker 2: of all ages or men or whatever to know that
- 25:00Speaker 2: this is wrong. And also for the people that might
- 25:03Speaker 2: do it, realize that it's not funny. It's not cool. And,
- 25:07Speaker 2: or if you witness it, be that hero that's like,
- 25:10Speaker 2: hey dude, what the fuck are you doing? You know, like,
- 25:12Speaker 2: get away. So I was like, yeah, I do want
- 25:14Speaker 2: to be associated with, and I'm fine with being associated
- 25:16Speaker 2: with it, but like, I get it.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, that's like very noble, and I'm really
- 25:20Speaker 3: happy that that's something that you can sit with and
- 25:24Speaker 3: be like, I feel like I did the right thing,
- 25:26Speaker 3: and this happened, and I feel like it's better that
- 25:28Speaker 3: people are aware of this person. It's like, I kind
- 25:31Speaker 3: of see both sides when it comes to people coming forward,
- 25:33Speaker 3: because Again, I had a really close friend that this
- 25:38Speaker 3: happened to at the hands of someone really powerful. And
- 25:42Speaker 3: I completely understand why you wouldn't say anything because you
- 25:46Speaker 3: feel like it won't go anywhere or you just feel
- 25:49Speaker 3: like I'm still trying to make something happen for myself.
- 25:52Speaker 3: And before I can have any power or before I
- 25:55Speaker 3: can have any notoriety for anything else, I'm not just
- 25:59Speaker 3: going to come out and do this.
- 26:00Speaker 1: It's heartbreaking. It sucks.
- 26:02Speaker 2: And then if you do, people are like, oh, they're
- 26:04Speaker 2: trying to stay relevant or she's a clout chaser. Oh yeah, right, exactly.
- 26:07Speaker 2: And all this other kind of stuff. Ridiculous.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Which is why the guys still do it.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Because they know. Because they get away with it.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and also I don't necessarily trust that it's all
- 26:17Speaker 3: above board between the people that would report on it
- 26:21Speaker 3: and them.
- 26:21Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I think it's all transactional.
- 26:24Speaker 1: That's the kind of.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Thing that really sucks about the entertainment industry sometimes is
- 26:28Speaker 3: And this happens across all industries. And I know that
- 26:31Speaker 3: to be true. I'm sure it happens in business. I'm
- 26:33Speaker 3: sure it happens in small businesses. I know what happens
- 26:35Speaker 3: in restaurants from having worked in them. But if you're
- 26:38Speaker 3: a powerful person in any dynamic, you can get away
- 26:42Speaker 3: with shit because you are the one with the money.
- 26:45Speaker 3: You're the one with the hiring power. You're this X, Y, Z.
- 26:48Speaker 3: That's why I think I can't really judge anyone for like...
- 26:54Speaker 3: And then it's not as simple as I'm gonna quit.
- 26:56Speaker 3: either because it's like, okay, then you have to get
- 26:58Speaker 3: another job.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah, people don't realize how hard that is.
- 27:00Speaker 1: It's very hard.
- 27:01Speaker 2: You didn't have to stay on that TV show. Oh,
- 27:03Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Are there just other TV shows for me
- 27:06Speaker 2: to join?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Even if you worked at Nordstrom, you're like, fuck, is
- 27:10Speaker 2: it worth quitting? Now I gotta go to Bloomingdale's and
- 27:13Speaker 2: it's further away. And I know how the job works.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I like the job. No one ever talks about The
- 27:18Speaker 2: hardest thing about being sexually harassed is that when you
- 27:21Speaker 2: like the job. Yeah. And you're like, why'd you fucking
- 27:25Speaker 2: have to do this? I don't want to leave this job.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I actually really like it. And this also sucks too,
- 27:29Speaker 1: but sometimes you actually like the person outside of what
- 27:33Speaker 1: they've done.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 27:34Speaker 1: That's that confusing thing where it's like, you know.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yes, very good point.
- 27:39Speaker 3: At the beginning, it's like this thing happens and you're like, oh,
- 27:42Speaker 3: I'm going to ignore it because I like that person.
- 27:44Speaker 3: And it's whatever. It's a little flattering that they wanted
- 27:46Speaker 3: to do that with me. Then maybe it happens again
- 27:48Speaker 3: and you're like, okay, I'm uncomfortable, but I still like
- 27:52Speaker 3: everything else about this person. This person's funny. This person's
- 27:54Speaker 3: a listener. This person's a good friend to me. This
- 27:57Speaker 3: person is well-liked by everyone I'm around. I don't want
- 28:01Speaker 3: to create the problem. And that is another way that
- 28:05Speaker 3: people abuse people is by creating a situation where they
- 28:09Speaker 3: think their world is really small and Or they think
- 28:13Speaker 3: it would be uncool or lame.
- 28:14Speaker 1: For me to be the person that says something.
- 28:16Speaker 3: So anyone that does step forward and says anything, it's
- 28:20Speaker 3: not just like, I'm gonna get this guy, or I'm
- 28:23Speaker 3: gonna get this woman, or I'm gonna get this insert
- 28:25Speaker 3: abuser here. It's so many other things they've had to
- 28:29Speaker 3: go through, which is why I truly do believe everybody.
- 28:33Speaker 3: I don't think anyone's a psychopath enough to come out
- 28:36Speaker 3: and just ruin someone's life.
- 28:38Speaker 2: With my situation, the Podcast One guy died. It's not
- 28:42Speaker 2: the current person, so I just want to say that.
- 28:44Speaker 2: It was many years ago. And I never, ever took
- 28:48Speaker 2: legal action. I never did anything like that. But I
- 28:51Speaker 2: had people, and I'd be like, hey, can't you come
- 28:53Speaker 2: on my show? And they're like, you're suing the guy.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I go, no, I'm not. I'm not doing anything. I
- 28:58Speaker 2: didn't do one thing. I shared it. Because it was
- 29:03Speaker 2: in my possession. It was my right to share what
- 29:05Speaker 2: was recorded online. you know, he, he knew it was,
- 29:08Speaker 2: we were recording an ad.
- 29:09Speaker 1: He knew it.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I literally didn't, I didn't wire myself. I didn't shoot,
- 29:13Speaker 2: you know, but I'm like, wow. You know? And, but
- 29:17Speaker 2: I had stink on me and I've had stink on
- 29:19Speaker 2: me a number of times throughout my career. And I
- 29:22Speaker 2: called the Hollywood stink where people are just like, I
- 29:24Speaker 2: don't want to fuck with her. I don't want to
- 29:26Speaker 2: be her friend. I don't want to invite her to anything.
- 29:29Speaker 2: I don't want to be on her show. I don't
- 29:32Speaker 2: want it. And I, It's what's kind of great about
- 29:36Speaker 2: once you realize it doesn't matter and you're talented enough
- 29:39Speaker 2: that it'll surpass, but it's hard when you have the
- 29:42Speaker 2: stink and you're like, Oh, I get it. I got
- 29:45Speaker 2: some stink on me right now. So you're just going
- 29:46Speaker 2: to avoid eye contact with me at this party and
- 29:49Speaker 2: act like we didn't know each other for 10 years.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Well, the thing is like, and then it's like, ah,
- 29:55Speaker 1: I think there's different kinds of stink, though.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Then I do my nini.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Then I do my nini. Like, oh, I see.
- 30:00Speaker 2: We see each other. We see each other.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Oh, that was candy, I guess, right?
- 30:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Well, I mean, like, my thing, too, is, like, there's
- 30:05Speaker 1: different kinds of stink.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Oh, yes, of course.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Does someone have stink on them for an unfair reason? Then, okay,
- 30:10Speaker 1: fuck everything. Whatever. Who cares? Like, you're my friend.
- 30:13Speaker 3: But if there's stink on you because it's, like, people
- 30:15Speaker 3: are saying some crazy shit.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Like, then, yeah, I actually envy them, like. Until you
- 30:21Speaker 1: can prove that this is not a thing, I am
- 30:24Speaker 1: over here.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Right, that's a great point.
- 30:27Speaker 3: That's the thing too, perception is reality, whatever, but not really.
- 30:31Speaker 1: There's different levels of stink. We all know it. There's
- 30:34Speaker 1: a wafting.
- 30:35Speaker 2: And then there's like a holy shit, I'm gonna puke, stink.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Oh God.
- 30:38Speaker 3: And I mean like, sometimes it's, I would imagine it's
- 30:41Speaker 3: very hard to be a close friend of someone who
- 30:44Speaker 3: gets called out in that way. But it's like, no
- 30:47Speaker 3: one's asking you to come out and condemn. Just shut
- 30:49Speaker 3: the fuck up and wait for the answers. Let this
- 30:51Speaker 3: person like, my thing is just like, another thing is like,
- 30:54Speaker 3: if you're accused and if you have some, if someone
- 30:57Speaker 3: comes out and says like, hey, this happened to me,
- 30:59Speaker 3: like respond to it.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Right.
- 31:01Speaker 3: And I always like, whenever people are like staying really,
- 31:05Speaker 3: quiet and they've been the ones like, I just, I
- 31:07Speaker 3: don't know.
- 31:08Speaker 1: It's, it's a really gray area.
- 31:10Speaker 3: The PR is probably like, no one really knows how
- 31:13Speaker 3: to handle it, but.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Also it's like, I don't know.
- 31:15Speaker 2: It's a very gray area. Cause it's like, there's a
- 31:17Speaker 2: level of like articles written about you, like on legit
- 31:19Speaker 2: huge places, TMZ, page six, whatever. And then there's just
- 31:23Speaker 2: like rumblings among a small niche community. And, but if
- 31:28Speaker 2: you see it and it's about you, it's like very disheartening.
- 31:30Speaker 2: But then you also have to tell yourself it's, it's
- 31:32Speaker 2: a small thing and I'm above it. If I ignore it,
- 31:35Speaker 2: then it's like it has no way to go. So
- 31:39Speaker 2: I kind of see both. But let's get into some
- 31:40Speaker 2: other stuff. Travis, she hasn't been to the last two games, Taylor.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I think it's fine. Honestly, I think that she, people
- 31:50Speaker 1: are forgetting.
- 31:51Speaker 2: She's got a lot going on. She's got a lot
- 31:54Speaker 2: going on, and also it's like, okay, do I have
- 31:57Speaker 2: to go to another one? If you're not a super,
- 31:59Speaker 2: super football fan, and she really wasn't before, it's not
- 32:02Speaker 2: her kid. Does she have to go to every single game?
- 32:05Speaker 1: This is what's so funny.
- 32:08Speaker 2: He looks cuter in that photo, though. It looks like
- 32:09Speaker 2: he's slimmed down.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I think he's gorgeous.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I think it's, you know what I like? I don't
- 32:13Speaker 2: like the beard. I like a stache, no beard.
- 32:15Speaker 1: See, I like the beard. Although I will say, the
- 32:17Speaker 1: man has a beautiful face. He's very cute. I'm very
- 32:21Speaker 1: excited to see what their children look like.
- 32:23Speaker 2: So you definitely think they're getting married or having kids.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I think that they're definitely going to, yeah.
- 32:28Speaker 3: My read on the situation is that they seem really
- 32:30Speaker 3: happy And I think if she's not at a couple games,
- 32:33Speaker 3: it has more to do with she's probably busy or
- 32:36Speaker 3: she maybe.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Is just like, yeah, I don't want to watch football
- 32:40Speaker 1: again and again and again and again.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I mean, listen, like anything else, when you're the new girlfriend,
- 32:44Speaker 2: you're going to act like you love to go camping.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I love camping.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Teach me how to fish. Three years in, you're like,
- 32:51Speaker 2: you go with your buddies, and I don't even care
- 32:54Speaker 2: if you do a Brokeback Mountain, because I would rather
- 32:56Speaker 2: stay at the Four Seasons by myself. Go do your
- 32:59Speaker 2: own thing.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Wasn't everyone just all over her ass for being in
- 33:01Speaker 3: the same box as Brittany Mahomes?
- 33:03Speaker 1: Now she's not at the games, and that's a problem
- 33:04Speaker 1: with that. She can never win. It's funny, because she
- 33:08Speaker 1: wins constantly.
- 33:10Speaker 3: And yet, she can never really win in the court
- 33:12Speaker 3: of public opinion, because it doesn't matter. She could come
- 33:14Speaker 3: out and be like, I'm donating a billion dollars to charity.
- 33:17Speaker 3: people would be like, fuck her, this is all calculated.
- 33:20Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 33:21Speaker 1: It's just like, it's never gonna be.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Or it's always like, a billion dollars to her is
- 33:25Speaker 2: not that much. It's always that, yeah.
- 33:28Speaker 1: It's always gonna be something.
- 33:29Speaker 3: And I would agree that not everything about her is
- 33:32Speaker 3: totally above board, but any time anyone is scrutinized to
- 33:36Speaker 3: the degree that she is and they are, like for example,
- 33:39Speaker 3: Chapel Roan.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Is being right now.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Wait, we're gonna get to that.
- 33:41Speaker 1: No, I know, but what I'm saying is like, you.
- 33:45Speaker 3: When someone is a human being, it's never going to
- 33:48Speaker 3: be 100% on board that you agree. And when they
- 33:50Speaker 3: express any opinion that has any complexity, you of course
- 33:54Speaker 3: can find things in there that are little holes. And
- 33:56Speaker 3: I just think, okay, if I'm online being a little
- 33:59Speaker 3: nerd online, like absolutely dragging them through the mud, is
- 34:02Speaker 3: it in good faith?
- 34:03Speaker 1: No, it's not. And that's why you just have to
- 34:05Speaker 1: fucking log off the whole thing. So I'm happy that
- 34:07Speaker 1: wherever she is, she's not at the game.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I just think, you know, but I guess he hasn't
- 34:11Speaker 2: been playing as well as last year.
- 34:13Speaker 1: They said that too.
- 34:14Speaker 2: So, you know, it's probably a little of everything, but
- 34:16Speaker 2: also just like, I mean, maybe she just would like
- 34:19Speaker 2: to be in her sweats in her bed.
- 34:20Speaker 3: But if you're a fan of the Kansas city chiefs
- 34:22Speaker 3: and you're like upset because he's not playing well, what
- 34:25Speaker 3: do you think is going to improve his performance? Like
- 34:27Speaker 3: blaming it on his girlfriend, like getting on, getting online
- 34:30Speaker 3: and being all angry about it. I really feel like
- 34:33Speaker 3: in the past, like month and a half, especially maybe
- 34:36Speaker 3: it is the chapel run thing, which I know we're
- 34:37Speaker 3: going to get to, but I really feel very exhausted
- 34:41Speaker 3: about like, the discourse around these people.
- 34:43Speaker 1: It's just, I feel like we need all new famous
- 34:45Speaker 1: people sometimes. I kind of agree. We need a total refresh.
- 34:47Speaker 2: This I almost didn't even bother with it. I just
- 34:49Speaker 2: wanted to get your opinion. Are you watching Netflix The Monsters?
- 34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I think these actors are incredible.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Incredible. My audience knows I have been obsessed. I knew
- 35:03Speaker 2: the ex-boyfriend of Lyle's first wife. Oh, wow. Yeah, she
- 35:09Speaker 2: left him for Lyle. While he was in prison. Yeah,
- 35:13Speaker 2: he was a struggling actor and Lyle had a regular
- 35:15Speaker 2: gig on Court TV. And that's who she went with.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Totally true story.
- 35:18Speaker 1: So Lyle was reporting from Court TV?
- 35:21Speaker 2: No, we're not reporting. He was on the stand.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Wait, Lyle. Oh, that's what you mean.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Okay, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I understand.
- 35:28Speaker 2: And then he cheated on her. But not physically, just
- 35:31Speaker 2: with other people writing letters. This is like 30 years ago.
- 35:34Speaker 1: So he had an emotional affair with other women through
- 35:37Speaker 1: pen pals.
- 35:37Speaker 2: While he was married to Ana Menendez.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Oh, that's wild.
- 35:40Speaker 2: And then he got another wife. And so I think
- 35:44Speaker 2: I have two episodes left. Excellent Emmy nods for every
- 35:50Speaker 2: single person.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that episode, which is the one shot.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Cooper Koch, is that his name?
- 35:55Speaker 2: He's fabulous.
- 35:56Speaker 3: He's amazing and gorgeous. But they're both gorgeous. But there's
- 35:59Speaker 3: something about that Cooper. I think he should be a
- 36:02Speaker 3: huge star.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Also, he's a more likable character between the two brothers
- 36:07Speaker 2: and always had in real life as well.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:10Speaker 2: It's absolutely fabulous. It is very disturbing. All of this information,
- 36:16Speaker 2: I was following the trial when it was happening because
- 36:20Speaker 2: I'm that age. But it's done in such a well way.
- 36:25Speaker 2: But it is extremely graphic taking what was put in
- 36:29Speaker 2: the court and the trial and scripting it.
- 36:31Speaker 1: It's hard to watch.
- 36:32Speaker 2: So it is something. You're going to see stuff that
- 36:35Speaker 2: you didn't see in the Lifetime movie with Courtney Love
- 36:37Speaker 2: five years ago. Where she played Kitty. And, you know,
- 36:41Speaker 2: there's been movies, there's been things. This is, you know, scripted.
- 36:46Speaker 2: But it's just, like, really done well. And so, you know,
- 36:51Speaker 2: there's all the different theories. One, that the two boys
- 36:55Speaker 2: killed their parents out of greed and they were monsters
- 36:57Speaker 2: and they were horrible and they didn't give a shit.
- 37:00Speaker 2: The other one is they were their defense, which we
- 37:03Speaker 2: thought they were going to kill us because we were
- 37:05Speaker 2: going to reveal the secret of our of us being
- 37:07Speaker 2: victims of their molestation, especially the dad. And then the
- 37:11Speaker 2: third one is the two boys had an incestuous incestual
- 37:16Speaker 2: gay relationship as as brothers. And they felt the parents
- 37:19Speaker 2: were going to reveal that secret. And therefore they killed that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Those are the those were always the three kind of
- 37:25Speaker 2: crazy theories. And did they get the idea of saying
- 37:28Speaker 2: they were. molested by books and movies.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I don't think it happens like that.
- 37:34Speaker 4: No.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I think these kids were abused badly.
- 37:37Speaker 2: I definitely think two things can be true at the
- 37:41Speaker 2: same time. I think 100% they were abused horribly and
- 37:43Speaker 2: therefore hated the parents and also was like.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Fuck you. You're not going to, you're not going to
- 37:57Speaker 2: like take our lifestyle away now that we're not going
- 37:59Speaker 2: to cooperate with your secrets and your sex anymore. And
- 38:03Speaker 2: they did make a plan to kill them. I don't
- 38:05Speaker 2: believe they thought that night they were going to be killed,
- 38:07Speaker 2: but I believe they killed because of what the torture
- 38:11Speaker 2: they had been put through since they were like six
- 38:13Speaker 2: and seven years old. So I do, I've said for years,
- 38:17Speaker 2: I do think 35 years is enough. However, what I
- 38:21Speaker 2: would want to see is if they were to get
- 38:23Speaker 2: out because in the second trial, the one that convicted them,
- 38:27Speaker 2: they did not allow a lot of the testimony that
- 38:31Speaker 2: gave their story validity like the cousins and everybody. And
- 38:35Speaker 2: so if they were to reevaluate that and people coming
- 38:38Speaker 2: forward now that worked with Menudo and did the dad
- 38:41Speaker 2: who managed or had some say in Menudo, there's some
- 38:44Speaker 2: of those Menudo players that said they were victims of his.
- 38:48Speaker 2: So if they were going to reveal all that and
- 38:49Speaker 2: they were able to not have a life sentence anymore
- 38:52Speaker 2: and get out, I want to follow them to see
- 38:55Speaker 2: how well their two marriages go once they're out of prison.
- 38:58Speaker 3: It is kind of interesting to think about like, OK,
- 39:00Speaker 3: now your husband's out of prison and you've never touched.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Never had a meal like maybe they can hug or something,
- 39:09Speaker 2: but they could not have. There's no conjugal visits in
- 39:12Speaker 2: California for a life sentence. So, and also, but now
- 39:16Speaker 2: you're home. You've been doing this as a woman for 20.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Years, where you write each.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Each of them have had a wife for 20 years.
- 39:24Speaker 2: And each of them, the wife comes and visits a
- 39:29Speaker 2: couple times a week. lives close by. So that's been
- 39:33Speaker 2: that woman's life. This guy that just says, you look beautiful.
- 39:36Speaker 2: He's always excited to see you. You're never having to
- 39:39Speaker 2: check his phone. You're never having to wonder where he is.
- 39:41Speaker 2: That's why women like to date prisoners. They say you're great.
- 39:44Speaker 2: They say they live for you. And you're fine. You
- 39:47Speaker 2: don't need his income. You have your house. You have
- 39:49Speaker 2: your plans. And every Sunday, you get that love tank
- 39:52Speaker 2: or whatever. So then now they're out. And just like before,
- 39:56Speaker 2: there's going to be women that are going to be like,
- 39:58Speaker 2: I want to meet them. Just like a housewife husband
- 40:00Speaker 2: who gets DMs from people trying to see, like, I
- 40:03Speaker 2: wonder if.
- 40:03Speaker 1: This guy— Yeah, I wonder if I can rock the boat.
- 40:05Speaker 2: I wonder if I can rock the boat, get a
- 40:06Speaker 2: dick pic set, and then be part of the show. Like, yeah,
- 40:09Speaker 2: so it's going to happen, and then they're going to
- 40:11Speaker 2: have to deal with that. Yeah.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Honestly— The thing is, the one thing that takes me out,
- 40:17Speaker 3: because I was young when this was a real trial,
- 40:21Speaker 3: and so I'm kind of just researching it now. I
- 40:24Speaker 3: knew there was a narrative about them being hot, but
- 40:27Speaker 3: I didn't realize it was like this. Obviously, they're extremely
- 40:30Speaker 3: hot actors in the show playing them, and their bodies
- 40:32Speaker 3: are on display.
- 40:33Speaker 1: It's very Ryan Murphy. But even the actual Menendez brothers,
- 40:37Speaker 1: like Eric Menendez, you get why women are sending him letters.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Right. You get it. Yes. And the other part was.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Which feels insane to say about like abused children that
- 40:46Speaker 3: become older. Like that's my one thing is like the
- 40:49Speaker 3: sexualization of them in the show. Like I get that
- 40:51Speaker 3: we're doing a TV show, but also it's so weird.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Like I was texting my friends about it. I was like, God,
- 40:56Speaker 3: these guys are so hot. But is it crazy to
- 40:59Speaker 3: think that like. when in the next breath, they're like
- 41:02Speaker 3: really graphically detailing their sexual abuse. Like it's a tough
- 41:06Speaker 3: walk for me with some of these shows.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Also, I mean, when they start the trial at that point,
- 41:12Speaker 2: I don't know if the public knew that the defense
- 41:15Speaker 2: was going to be about abuse. I can't remember.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I'm talking about the television show now. We very much
- 41:22Speaker 1: do know.
- 41:22Speaker 2: But in the movie, this is true in that they
- 41:25Speaker 2: got all these letters and there were fans of women.
- 41:29Speaker 2: And it's the same thing. Like, what I said, women
- 41:32Speaker 2: loving the guys behind bars, there's Love After Lockup is
- 41:36Speaker 2: a TV show, that whole thing, and being like, I
- 41:39Speaker 2: can be the one to save you, and thinking that
- 41:41Speaker 2: they're hot, and seeing them on TV, and with the girl,
- 41:45Speaker 2: Anna Menendez, literally, when the guy told me that, I'm like,
- 41:49Speaker 2: but you weren't booking anything, so can you blame her?
- 41:51Speaker 2: I was laughing, but it was just, it's crazy that
- 41:55Speaker 2: because they saw them on TV, And then also with
- 41:57Speaker 2: the defense attorney, what I remember, one of the funny
- 42:00Speaker 2: kind of interesting things that came out during the trial
- 42:02Speaker 2: at the time was it was her idea to say
- 42:05Speaker 2: we need to put them in sweaters, not in blazers
- 42:09Speaker 2: and suits.
- 42:10Speaker 1: So they look wholesome.
- 42:11Speaker 2: And they look younger because by the time the trial happened,
- 42:13Speaker 2: they were in their mid-20s. When the crime happened. they
- 42:18Speaker 2: were like 18 and like 21 and so then she
- 42:23Speaker 2: wanted to try to make them look younger and more
- 42:25Speaker 2: vulnerable to bring you back to like and my sister's
- 42:28Speaker 2: a criminal defense attorney and a lot of like the
- 42:30Speaker 2: appearance or if like a woman has too much makeup
- 42:33Speaker 2: on or not enough like how that can kind of
- 42:35Speaker 2: make the jury like be like you know yes so
- 42:40Speaker 2: it was really anyway it is really really well done
- 42:44Speaker 2: so it is a trigger warning but if you If
- 42:46Speaker 2: you want to watch something good, I highly recommend it.
- 42:49Speaker 3: There have been a few times I've had to skip
- 42:51Speaker 3: through it because it is overwhelming.
- 42:54Speaker 2: But the acting is incredible.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Oh, it's spectacular.
- 42:57Speaker 2: And they did go to meet the Menendez brothers in
- 43:01Speaker 2: prison with Kim Kardashian.
- 43:04Speaker 1: I don't know why Kim Kardashian has to be involved.
- 43:07Speaker 2: But she has been in Ryan Murphy things.
- 43:10Speaker 3: She can do whatever she wants. It's just like when
- 43:12Speaker 3: she gets involved in stuff like that, to me it
- 43:15Speaker 3: just I'm never gonna be 100% like, oh, this isn't
- 43:20Speaker 3: about her.
- 43:21Speaker 1: You know what I mean? It's not about criminal justice.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Well, listen, I'm in love with this Cooper kid, and
- 43:29Speaker 2: I have put it out there. Last week, I'm putting
- 43:31Speaker 2: it out again. I think he could play JFK. That's
- 43:35Speaker 2: the next Ryan Murphy thing. JFK Jr.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 43:38Speaker 2: With Caroline.
- 43:39Speaker 1: That would be good.
- 43:40Speaker 2: I'd like to see him play a whole different character.
- 43:42Speaker 2: And I think he can play that.
- 43:44Speaker 3: I'm sure he's one of Ryan's boys now because the
- 43:46Speaker 3: other one is also in Grotesquery.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Okay. Along with Travis.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Yeah, with Travis Kelsey.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Okay. Kristen Cavallari has called it quits with Mark Estes
- 44:00Speaker 2: after seven months. This was this cute guy who was
- 44:04Speaker 2: part of these Montana hot guys that are straight that
- 44:08Speaker 2: would just do weird TikToks, kind of like the TikTok
- 44:11Speaker 2: Mormon moms.
- 44:11Speaker 3: I think I recognize him, actually. But also, he has
- 44:14Speaker 3: a face that every hot guy on TikTok has, so okay.
- 44:19Speaker 2: He has a perfect face.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I mean, he has a perfect face, but they all
- 44:22Speaker 1: have perfect faces.
- 44:23Speaker 2: And she was like 37, 38, divorced with three kids.
- 44:26Speaker 2: He was like 24. And everybody was really down for
- 44:29Speaker 2: her being like, oh my God, you know, whatever. yeah,
- 44:33Speaker 2: I'm going to climb that Montana mod. Like she always
- 44:35Speaker 2: talked about how like hot the sex was. Sure. And
- 44:38Speaker 2: it was like, good, go do it, mama. Like, who cares? Anyway,
- 44:41Speaker 2: they broke up. Here I am. I ran into them at, um, at, um,
- 44:47Speaker 2: stage coach.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Yes.
- 44:50Speaker 2: And I mean, I'm just saying, hold on.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I mean, he's hot.
- 44:53Speaker 2: I'm just saying, look at that.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Look at us. He looks like a young Tom Brady,
- 44:57Speaker 1: but like hotter.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Look at us together. Anyway.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Um, how a stage coach.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Stagecoach is always real fun.
- 45:04Speaker 1: I have to go. I've only been to Coachella.
- 45:07Speaker 2: I think it's really, really fun. It's still really young.
- 45:09Speaker 2: It's not like an old person thing.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it looks fun. A lot of Del Rey's
- 45:13Speaker 1: doing it next year.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's just very cute people. I love
- 45:17Speaker 2: a cowboy hat.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Love it.
- 45:19Speaker 2: I think everyone looks cute in a cowboy hat, and
- 45:21Speaker 2: it just has a fun vibe.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Okay, I'm going to be there.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Okay, good. We'll hang out.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Yes, we'll link up.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Anyway, I think it's interesting. I think I love, um,
- 45:34Speaker 2: this was, you know, people talk about a cougar. This
- 45:36Speaker 2: is a Puma.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Oh, she's not old enough to be a cougar.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Not old enough to be a, yeah, it's a Puma
- 45:41Speaker 2: cougar thing. Not, not a cougar. It's a Puma and
- 45:43Speaker 2: a cub and a Puma and a cub. And, um,
- 45:47Speaker 2: I think, you know what? I'm glad.
- 45:49Speaker 1: They look the same age. I'm glad. Oh, she's gorgeous.
- 45:51Speaker 1: She's extremely preserved.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 45:53Speaker 1: But I'm glad she.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Didn't have a baby with him. I'm glad she didn't
- 45:55Speaker 2: marry him. And if I was his mom, I'd be
- 45:57Speaker 2: glad to.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Look, she's obviously, she's out of a divorce. She's met
- 46:01Speaker 1: a hot guy. He was down. He wanted to go
- 46:03Speaker 1: to stagecoach. Yeah. Let's fuck.
- 46:05Speaker 2: But, you know, when you're dealing with a man and
- 46:07Speaker 2: a woman and a woman has kids and Yeah, sure.
- 46:09Speaker 2: And ovaries and, you know, and does she want to
- 46:12Speaker 2: start all over again?
- 46:13Speaker 1: No.
- 46:13Speaker 2: And does he want that? It is complicated. In, you know,
- 46:18Speaker 2: some age ranges, it doesn't matter. In this one, it did.
- 46:21Speaker 2: And goodbye.
- 46:22Speaker 1: All the best to them. I'm sure they're going to
- 46:23Speaker 1: have sex with lots of hot people in their life.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Absolutely. So are you watching Real Housewives of OC?
- 46:28Speaker 1: I sure am. I think we're in a good season.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Tell me what your initial thoughts are, Matt Rogers, about
- 46:34Speaker 2: the season and what you think think should happen, could happen,
- 46:37Speaker 2: give it to me all in a nutshell.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Well, I don't think that, so it feels kind of
- 46:42Speaker 3: Jersey-ish to me, in that it feels like we're headed
- 46:45Speaker 3: to a place where it can't really continue like this.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Just because.
- 46:49Speaker 2: With the same cast.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Well, with the same cast, just because now it's getting legally.
- 46:53Speaker 1: You know what I mean? It's getting legally. I'm kind
- 46:56Speaker 1: of surprised Tamara doesn't learn her lesson on this stuff.
- 46:59Speaker 1: I have to be honest.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Yes, so for those that you don't know, so last,
- 47:03Speaker 2: the episode in the last week was they go over
- 47:07Speaker 2: to the new girl Katie's house and Tamra's very upset
- 47:11Speaker 2: because Jen, who is their second season and her boyfriend Ryan,
- 47:15Speaker 2: Ryan went on a podcast and you know I guess
- 47:20Speaker 2: didn't speak that highly of Tamara or Eddie. And so
- 47:24Speaker 2: she was like, you're a piece of shit or whatever
- 47:26Speaker 2: she was saying, which a lot of people were like,
- 47:28Speaker 2: you know, not only Tamara, have you said stuff about
- 47:31Speaker 2: everybody on the TV show for years and on Watch
- 47:34Speaker 2: What Happens Live for years, but you have your own
- 47:37Speaker 2: show in which you depict all these shows and say
- 47:40Speaker 2: unflattering things about people. So why, when it happens to you,
- 47:44Speaker 2: is it like instantly crying victim? But I get it,
- 47:46Speaker 2: it's hard to hear someone you know say, when you
- 47:50Speaker 2: actually hear which is like I always say, I heard
- 47:52Speaker 2: what you said about me on your podcast, is like,
- 47:54Speaker 2: you know, what we used to do in high school
- 47:57Speaker 2: is we'd have three-ways, and if someone was like, I
- 47:59Speaker 2: swear she's talking shit about you, sometimes we would do
- 48:02Speaker 2: a three-way.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Three-way call.
- 48:03Speaker 2: And we would not let, yeah, we would be like, oh, hey,
- 48:06Speaker 2: and then we would almost entrap the person.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Yes, truly evil behavior, but righteous behavior.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Horrible Heathers, from the movie Heathers, Anna Heathers, like all three.
- 48:14Speaker 2: So this is kind of the same thing, but now
- 48:15Speaker 2: we all do it, and it's a way of life,
- 48:17Speaker 2: and if we're talking about a TV show, And recapping,
- 48:20Speaker 2: that's one thing, but these people actually know each other,
- 48:22Speaker 2: so she was hurt by it. They get into it,
- 48:25Speaker 2: and she brings up the FBI, and Eddie's trying to
- 48:30Speaker 2: cover her mouth. And also we see Eddie tell Katie's husband,
- 48:34Speaker 2: don't serve her another drink. So then she goes on
- 48:37Speaker 2: Watch Homes Live, and she's like, I don't drink, and...
- 48:41Speaker 2: And then she also says more about Ryan. More about Ryan.
- 48:46Speaker 1: She can't stop.
- 48:47Speaker 2: So then we see her walking down the street in
- 48:50Speaker 2: a story with Eddie, which was more than we've seen
- 48:53Speaker 2: Eddie on Housewives in the last three years, doing these,
- 48:58Speaker 2: you know. And they're like, we just had a great
- 49:00Speaker 2: Italian meal. Oh, yeah, we did. And by the way,
- 49:02Speaker 2: I misspoke. And I meant to say.
- 49:04Speaker 1: The backpedal.
- 49:05Speaker 2: I drink, but I haven't been drunk since that night.
- 49:08Speaker 2: And also, I don't know anything about Ryan's case. You're crazy.
- 49:11Speaker 2: you know, innocent till proven guilty. Gonna go get an
- 49:15Speaker 2: ice cream now. Yeah, no. And so he wasn't having it.
- 49:18Speaker 2: So he sent, Ryan sent. a lawyer sent a cease
- 49:21Speaker 2: and desist. She since has done an apology on her
- 49:25Speaker 2: Instagram story. We'll see where it goes from there.
- 49:29Speaker 3: I don't think he's gonna sue her in a real way.
- 49:32Speaker 3: I don't think it'll go much further. But I am
- 49:34Speaker 3: surprised that she doesn't.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Learn from her mistakes and misregard.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Because she's always on one about how much money she
- 49:42Speaker 3: lost the last time she had a legal situation.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Right, right. And blaming people for that. Yeah, I understand that.
- 49:49Speaker 2: You said it.
- 49:51Speaker 1: And also, I'll just speak to an entertainment perspective. Yeah.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I don't think this is why Tamara's good on the show.
- 49:57Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 49:58Speaker 3: I think sometimes she's confused about When she goes too far,
- 50:02Speaker 3: I think that she only looks antagonistic and I don't
- 50:06Speaker 3: think that's actually what she wants. I think she wants
- 50:09Speaker 3: and I think she likes to claim going out there
- 50:11Speaker 3: and being the person that shakes it up. I bet
- 50:13Speaker 3: she would even cop to the fact that she's like
- 50:15Speaker 3: a little bit of a cast slash producer role. I
- 50:17Speaker 3: think she would cop to that. But I think what
- 50:19Speaker 3: she's not seeing is when she's mean, it just looks mean.
- 50:24Speaker 3: I don't think anyone's on her side this season. Which
- 50:27Speaker 3: is crazy because it's not that she doesn't have a point.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I think she has a great point about Shannon. That Shannon,
- 50:34Speaker 3: who I've met and has been very kind, but Shannon
- 50:37Speaker 3: obviously has issues. And I think that she does need
- 50:40Speaker 3: some tough love. Does it need to go as far
- 50:43Speaker 3: as Tamara takes it?
- 50:44Speaker 1: No, probably not.
- 50:46Speaker 3: And then when it comes to her friendship with Jen,
- 50:48Speaker 3: it's like, if you don't want this at all, don't pretend.
- 50:52Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 50:53Speaker 2: You clearly.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I hate her fiancé, boyfriend, whatever the fuck he is
- 50:57Speaker 3: to her now. It feels phony to me when she
- 51:01Speaker 3: goes so far.
- 51:03Speaker 1: That's how I feel.
- 51:04Speaker 2: This is what I think, and I said it last
- 51:06Speaker 2: year too. I think Tamra was very sad and felt
- 51:11Speaker 2: very betrayed to be not asked back after where she
- 51:15Speaker 2: delivered every year and featured everything. So she got a
- 51:18Speaker 2: two-year break. So when she came back, she was going
- 51:20Speaker 2: to come back guns a-blazing and also be the person
- 51:23Speaker 2: that delivers the most to the producers.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Sure.
- 51:25Speaker 2: So she goes, I got this girl, Jen. This is
- 51:28Speaker 2: what I think. This is my opinion. I think she
- 51:30Speaker 2: went to the producers. I got this girl, Jen. She's
- 51:32Speaker 2: really pretty. She's got a juicy backstory. She started dating
- 51:37Speaker 2: this guy while she was still married. He has a
- 51:40Speaker 2: reputation around town. Get them on the show. Then I
- 51:45Speaker 2: think she, you know, was like, Right under the bus.
- 51:47Speaker 2: And then was like, Jen, oh my God, I can
- 51:50Speaker 2: get you on Housewives and we can all be best friends.
- 51:53Speaker 2: So I think Jen walked in there thinking, Tamara's my friend.
- 51:56Speaker 2: I can't believe she's such a lovely person to get
- 51:59Speaker 2: me on this show. This is so sweet. And I
- 52:01Speaker 2: think she would act one way when the cameras were
- 52:03Speaker 2: on and then when the cameras were off, she'd be
- 52:06Speaker 2: very nice. And when the cameras were on, she'd be like, hi, Tamara.
- 52:09Speaker 2: And then Tamara would just like throw.
- 52:10Speaker 1: A napkin in her face. Yeah, throw a napkin in
- 52:11Speaker 1: her face.
- 52:12Speaker 2: And she was just like, wait, what? I don't understand.
- 52:14Speaker 2: So I think that's where it was like, Who are you?
- 52:17Speaker 2: And I think Tamara is a different person when she's
- 52:20Speaker 2: on camera because I think she really is like, I'm
- 52:22Speaker 2: going to deliver the job and I don't care what
- 52:25Speaker 2: happens because everything I do, even if it gets me
- 52:27Speaker 2: in trouble like this incident this past week, I think
- 52:30Speaker 2: she's like, so what? It's all good for the show
- 52:33Speaker 2: and you guys should be happy for me.
- 52:34Speaker 3: I don't think it is good for the show is
- 52:35Speaker 3: my opinion. I think that if Tamara acted more like herself,
- 52:39Speaker 3: she'd be a more compelling, likable character.
- 52:42Speaker 1: She could still mix it up. She could still carry
- 52:44Speaker 1: the bones.
- 52:45Speaker 3: She could still do all this stuff, but she wouldn't
- 52:47Speaker 3: be throwing a napkin in this woman's face for literally
- 52:49Speaker 3: no reason. She wouldn't be screaming at Shannon like, is
- 52:53Speaker 3: that before you have a drink in the morning? It's like,
- 52:55Speaker 3: I don't believe that she really would say these things.
- 52:59Speaker 1: It feels like produced housewife behavior, and I think it
- 53:04Speaker 1: would be glib on her part for her.
- 53:08Speaker 3: To think that the audience doesn't see that. And I
- 53:11Speaker 3: think that's where she's going to lose people. Because one
- 53:14Speaker 3: thing about Shannon Bedore, I believe that Shannon Bedore is...
- 53:19Speaker 3: an authentic version of whatever is going on here. I
- 53:22Speaker 3: really do think that. And I would say, for a
- 53:25Speaker 3: lot of these women, I mean, I believe that Jen
- 53:28Speaker 3: is like that. I believe that Emily is like that.
- 53:30Speaker 3: I believe Gina is like that. Heather, I mean, you know,
- 53:34Speaker 3: Heather Dubrow, I think she just is so Hollywood that
- 53:37Speaker 3: a little bit of it is artifice, but I think
- 53:39Speaker 3: the essence of her is real.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Did you see when he was getting his nose done, Terry?
- 53:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 2: And then he was like, can I finish a sentence
- 53:49Speaker 2: or whatever? Yeah.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Don't admonish me on camera.
- 53:52Speaker 2: And she like, and they. You know, anytime they say
- 53:56Speaker 2: anything about on camera and they've got those mics on,
- 53:58Speaker 2: Heather Dubrow, those producers are no longer protecting you the
- 54:02Speaker 2: way they did because they wouldn't have shared that if
- 54:04Speaker 2: they if they thought that if they were trying to
- 54:07Speaker 2: protect them for another season of Botched and hope not
- 54:10Speaker 2: to piss off Heather, they wouldn't have shared that hot
- 54:12Speaker 2: mic moment of them being like where she's like, you
- 54:15Speaker 2: can't talk to me like that on camera. which is
- 54:16Speaker 2: completely normal. You're doing a reality show. You're with your husband.
- 54:19Speaker 2: I don't blame anyone that before putting on mics, they
- 54:22Speaker 2: go to the bathroom with their husband and they're like,
- 54:24Speaker 2: all right, let's try to be cool. Let's try to
- 54:26Speaker 2: be nice. When I come and grab your hand, grab
- 54:28Speaker 2: it back. Let's act loving. Let's give a good front
- 54:31Speaker 2: for the cat. That's common sense.
- 54:34Speaker 1: That's not, you know.
- 54:35Speaker 3: My opinion on it is that her What she's obviously
- 54:38Speaker 3: doing this season is campaigning to be put on Beverly Hills.
- 54:41Speaker 1: All of this stuff about like, no, I'm just showing
- 54:44Speaker 1: my life and I live in L.A.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Now.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Of course I love being on OC Housewives. Those are
- 54:48Speaker 1: my girls. It's not real. I think that she wants
- 54:50Speaker 1: to be on Beverly Hills and I don't blame her.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think.
- 54:53Speaker 3: I don't blame her because I do like the OC Housewives.
- 54:57Speaker 3: I don't want to be in it with these women.
- 55:00Speaker 3: If I'm Heather Dubrow and I legitimately want to live
- 55:04Speaker 3: in Beverly Hills, if I legitimately want an LA life
- 55:07Speaker 3: and this is the situation, I do believe she's a
- 55:10Speaker 3: little bit of an elitist, but I do get it.
- 55:13Speaker 3: So I just think the campaign that she's doing to
- 55:18Speaker 3: get put on Beverly Hills is not one that Bravo loves.
- 55:25Speaker 3: And I think that they don't want to put her
- 55:27Speaker 3: on Beverly Hills. I think they like her on this show.
- 55:30Speaker 3: And they're sort of exposing her a little bit in
- 55:32Speaker 3: a way they didn't because I think they want to
- 55:34Speaker 3: show the artifice because they're like, you think this is
- 55:37Speaker 3: working and it's not.
- 55:38Speaker 2: Speaking of exposing, okay. Also over the weekend, your friend,
- 55:44Speaker 2: Joel Kim Booster. Funny comedian. You guys perform sometimes doing
- 55:49Speaker 2: shows together.
- 55:50Speaker 1: We've been friends for a very long time. Okay, good.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Well, he has a big show coming out. He is
- 55:56Speaker 2: the host. Of the show that includes Shannon and Luann
- 56:02Speaker 2: and Ashley Darby and Giselle. They go to Cabo and
- 56:06Speaker 2: it's like, you know, golden bachelorette, but four women and
- 56:10Speaker 2: several guys and we don't, you know, so they do it.
- 56:12Speaker 2: And he's the host. And he posted over the weekend
- 56:16Speaker 2: on his stories awful things about Shannon saying that, you know, she's,
- 56:22Speaker 2: you know, thinks she's a diva and she wasn't behaving well.
- 56:24Speaker 2: And I'm just paraphrasing because I don't have it in
- 56:26Speaker 2: front of me and I don't want to read it.
- 56:28Speaker 2: And then he goes, you might want to screenshot this
- 56:31Speaker 2: because I'm going to have to delete it soon. Then
- 56:33Speaker 2: the next one was like, well, that was quick. Hope
- 56:35Speaker 2: you got it. And then people were DMing him and
- 56:38Speaker 2: he was sharing more that at the wrap party, she
- 56:41Speaker 2: was rude to someone that meant something to him. So
- 56:44Speaker 2: all these, you know, the people that care, all jumping
- 56:48Speaker 2: on it, deciphering what's real, what's not. And my opinion is... Um,
- 56:58Speaker 2: with all due respect to Joel, I don't really like this.
- 57:03Speaker 2: I think it's uncool. I think it was calculated. I
- 57:06Speaker 2: think maybe he was, this is my opinion. Maybe he
- 57:10Speaker 2: was encouraged to do that because maybe they want to
- 57:13Speaker 2: take her down a notch. Did she act like that?
- 57:16Speaker 2: It's possible. Is everyone listening to this a complete delight
- 57:20Speaker 2: every single day of their life? And you're the star
- 57:22Speaker 2: of a show that involves love and involves your daughters
- 57:26Speaker 2: while you're your current show is airing and every day
- 57:30Speaker 2: you're getting like laser shot at you about Jim Jansen
- 57:33Speaker 2: and everything. Like, and we know that that is what
- 57:35Speaker 2: makes her a thing. So no, I don't think that
- 57:38Speaker 2: every actor and reality star is a complete and total
- 57:41Speaker 2: delight on the set 24 hours a day. That's my opinion.
- 57:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:46Speaker 3: I think for me, it's just my response to it
- 57:48Speaker 3: just because I am very close with Joel and do
- 57:51Speaker 3: know stuff about the situation. My response, literal thing is
- 57:55Speaker 3: I just wish I didn't know because I wanna watch
- 57:57Speaker 3: the show. Like for me, that's my thing is I'm like,
- 58:01Speaker 3: I just would rather have seen this play out when
- 58:03Speaker 3: the show comes on than know that things went a
- 58:06Speaker 3: certain way or that people act a certain way this
- 58:10Speaker 3: far in advance. Should he have popped off like that?
- 58:13Speaker 2: No.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Did he?
- 58:15Speaker 2: Yes.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I've met Shannon before. She's been perfectly lovely. He obviously,
- 58:21Speaker 3: judging by his stories, had a completely different experience.
- 58:23Speaker 2: But is everybody lovely or mean 24 hours a day?
- 58:27Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I do think.
- 58:30Speaker 3: I don't think it's about that, though. I think if
- 58:32Speaker 3: she had a couple bad moments, he wouldn't have said anything.
- 58:36Speaker 1: And I don't know the specifics of the situation, but.
- 58:39Speaker 3: clearly this person merited that in some way. Should it
- 58:46Speaker 3: have been made public like that? Absolutely not.
- 58:48Speaker 2: And also he said a string of bad relationships. Well,
- 58:51Speaker 2: she was married for 20 years.
- 58:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 58:53Speaker 2: And then she, I don't think that's a string.
- 58:55Speaker 1: I don't think everything he said was.
- 58:57Speaker 2: You know, I don't think that's a string to say
- 58:59Speaker 2: you're married for 20 years and then you had another
- 59:01Speaker 2: boyfriend for three or four years and they both didn't
- 59:04Speaker 2: work out and you're 60. So you have two exes.
- 59:07Speaker 2: I don't think that's a string. And I just think...
- 59:09Speaker 2: sometimes in this world in which there's a variety of
- 59:13Speaker 2: people and demographics that love watching women in their 50s
- 59:18Speaker 2: be reality stars who are struggling with raising kids, alcoholism, divorce, whatever,
- 59:24Speaker 2: we all watch it. And sometimes I think as much
- 59:27Speaker 2: as I love gay men who love it, that they
- 59:31Speaker 2: are not always an ally to straight women of a
- 59:35Speaker 2: certain age. I don't think they know they can't put
- 59:40Speaker 2: themselves in their shoes. Just like I can't put myself
- 59:42Speaker 2: in your shoes. I don't know what you've struggled. I
- 59:44Speaker 2: don't know what you've done. So I can't speak like,
- 59:47Speaker 2: why don't you act like this? So I just kind of,
- 59:49Speaker 2: it was a little bit of that where I don't
- 59:51Speaker 2: think enough people talk about the fact that we all
- 59:54Speaker 2: gay men and, Women my age all love watching these women.
- 59:58Speaker 2: We all love to comment on it. We're horrible to them, too.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: We're horrible.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: We love. We like them better when they're struggling with
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: their weight and are crying than when they're thin and gorgeous.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: That's why people are mad about Ozempic. They're like, like that.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Like, that's why I think women aren't further
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: along because we're kind of fucking awful to each other, too.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: So I just think. But. it will get people to
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: watch the show.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I think it definitely will create buzz for the show.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: And it got his name out there. I wasn't very
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: familiar with him.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's not how, that's not why you want
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: your name out there. Like, I think that this is
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: like a difference of opinion between me and maybe some
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: other people. I don't think just getting your name out
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: there is good. I'm sure he regrets saying this stuff.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: I haven't really talked to him too much since all
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: of it, but I would regret saying it. And it's
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: actually like, To your point about the way that gay
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: men sometimes talk about housewives in the discourse, I think
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: it is really important to say that there is such
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: a thing as gay male misogyny. I've said it.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: I'm glad you're recognizing it.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: I'm not attaching this to Joel necessarily. I'm just saying
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: something that I have noticed in– the casualness that gay
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: men speak about women across the board.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Looks.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: A lot of looks stuff. All these things. And you
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: know what I mean?
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Why we stand certain women or certain behaviors and stuff
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: like that. I'm definitely thinking about the way that I
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: have spoken about some of these people. I don't think
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: it's cool to call women dumb. I don't think it's
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: cool to call women alcoholics. I don't think it's like,
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: that's not what I like about the show either. And
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I think it's also a symptom of like how the
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: shows have been rolling out. Like it is getting darker.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: It is getting more real across the board. Like there's
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: so many lawsuits, this prison thrown around. It's like the
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: alcoholism gets really dark. You know, there's like when, when
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: it gets a little violent, it's just like, because I
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: think the tenor of the shows has changed, I miss
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: Sprinkle Cookies, legitimately. I do wanna talk about Robin Dixon's
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Family Fun Day.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: I wanna talk about when someone talks about someone else's fashion,
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: you know what I mean? It's one thing to say, oh,
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: let's talk about her interior design and the conflict is
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: about whether or not your house is ready. To me,
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: that's Housewives. All this other stuff, I think it's a
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: real production issue and I think across the board they
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: should really look at who's producing these shows and the
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: way they produce them and the way they feed the masses.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I get it.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: It feels like people want to feed on the dark stuff.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: I'm telling you you don't need it and it's going
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: to lead to darker commentary and people don't always know
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: when they're being misogynist and harmful. And I think it's
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: something we should.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Call out and say because it's going to get to
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: a place That's really just derogatory. Yeah.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: I mean, and I do think sometimes, you know, women
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: always just thought, you know, gay men are our best
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: friends and they didn't see them as the same as
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: a typical misogynistic straight man. But 100 percent it exists.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: I've said it for a while now and I kind
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: of realized it like a year ago. I was like, oh, wait, like,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: why are we just signing off on this? Why are
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: we as women not calling it out and just pointing
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: it out just like people have pointed out? everything from
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: white privilege to whatever, where you're like, oh shit, you're right.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: I think we can all do better and still enjoy
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: the shows and stuff, but in the defense of the producers,
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: if this is what the women are doing because it
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: is truly their life and it is truly their romance
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: and this DUI did truly happen, well then we would
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: be pissed if they didn't show it either.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: So.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: This is what I'm gonna say, I think that we
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: need more female producers on these shows.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I agree.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: I think that too many gay men produce these shows,
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: and I think that's just my opinion.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: And I'm out here, gay man myself, and I enjoy
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: the show, I'm a fan of these shows, but sometimes like,
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: for example, Vanderpump Rules.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: I think they need a female showrunner.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be great. Because I think that- They sided
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: with the men a lot and want the men to
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: have the redemption.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: 100%, and it's ridiculous.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: And it actually resulted in something where the fans were like,
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: fuck this show.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Well, it's just like when, you know, it's just like
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: where they were like, you know, if the show is
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: a show of women of color, they won't have, you know,
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: people of color producing it because they get it, they understand.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: And the same thing, if the show is all about women,
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: like let's have a women's perspective. One of the reasons
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I have talked about this since before I had Juicy
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Scoop was because I saw it and I was like,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: oh my God, this is so relatable. I know this
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: from being married. I know this from raising kids. I
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: know this from being divorced, whatever, or people being divorced.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: And I think that's really interesting. And I think that
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: they can be a great asset, but I think, yeah,
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: there's gotta be Sometimes I feel it's a little bit
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: of gay men playing with Barbies.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I get that.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: And being like, isn't this funny? Isn't this funny that
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: we do this and this and this?
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Or look at her and her life spiraling out of control.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Yes, and not really thinking like, hey– this is someone's
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: mom and this is somebody's life. And yes, they did
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: sign up for this and all of that. But okay, well, good.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: I love your perspective.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: No, I mean, and I also, I think it's like,
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: I think it's really important because I actually think like
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: in order for the health of these shows to continue,
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: you do need like a lot of different people watching it.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Like I want to be able to watch Potomac, one
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: of my favorite shows and have like informed like, dialogue
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: about like not only the comedic stuff that happens on
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: the show, but the real stuff that happens on the show.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: I think that colorism conversation that they have, that they
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: have really tried to tackle on that show is a
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: really important one.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: And I think could educate a lot of people.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: And so, you know, that's why I'm just like thinking
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: about it from a different lens. It's like, we all
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: can benefit from this stuff, but let's, see our role
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: in everything. And I think maybe the gay male misogyny
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: is a little bit of a response to feeling like
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: treated like accessories or treated like we're not serious or
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: like maybe some homophobia that comes from the part of women.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: But also it's just like, then let's have the conversation
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: about that. Let's say that we feel that way.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: And we did have the conversation for the first time
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: on Juicy Scoop. And I appreciate your opinion on that.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Now this is unfortunate. Kim Richards, sister to Kyle and
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Kathy has suffered With alcoholism, drug abuse. And this thing
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: happened over the weekend. First, Kyle was trying to get
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: her evicted from one of the homes that she had
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: put her in. And the story was that she was
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: doing that as like a tough love to try to
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: get her to get help. And then she was put
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: on a 5150 and removed from the house. from a
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Hilton hotel, obviously owned by, at one time, owned by
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: the Hiltons. And so that's what they're dealing, that's what
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Kathy and Kyle are dealing with. And I, you know, like,
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: Kyle's trying to get her evicted. I have always sympathized
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: with Kyle having, you know, a sister, in the public eye,
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: and having a sister that has struggled in the beginning,
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: you know, that first season she was hiding it along
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: with Kim that Kim had a problem and so then
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: now it's come and listen that's what this disease is
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: there are relapse there are this and that and I
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: mean I truly believe Kyle and Kathy will like never
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: give up on her but they have to do it
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: also for themselves and protect themselves and then of course
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: all the comments that will happen and so hopefully she's
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: in a safe place yeah that's the thing and doing better.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: It's one of those things where the thing that Beverly
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: Hills too is it feels like we get a narrative,
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: but we don't get the full story. And that's, I think,
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: something that people need to realize is it's like, you know,
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: we've talked about the Richard sisters for over a decade now,
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: and we're still seeing the same patterns because this is
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: a serious problem. And I really wish the best for them.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: I mean, my family has addicts in the family. Most
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: families do, unfortunately.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: And I think that if.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: You don't understand how difficult it is, another element of
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: it is Some people just, in order to do the
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: tough love thing, will just excommunicate their family member. And
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: it feels like maybe they're grappling with whether or not
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: that's the thing. Because it sounds like she tried to
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: get her kicked out of the house. It's like they
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: may be at the point now where it may just
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: be a situation of them actually weighing how much they
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: can be in each other's lives.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Right. Because they clearly all trigger each other.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Or someone could have said, the only way you're going
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: to get Kim into a rehab facility is... she has,
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: you know, violated or whatever the agreement was. The only
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: way you can do it is to start the eviction
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: process now, which could take a couple of months, because
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: if you don't, she might die in your house. Like,
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: we don't know what it wasn't. It might not been
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: that that, you know, I doubt it was Kyle being like.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I'd like to get a renter in there by October,
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: so get the fuck out, sister. I don't think that
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: was it at all. I think it's much more complicated
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: than that, and she was doing what she had to
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: probably do to get her to a place of surrender. Yeah.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: It's sad, and I think, again, this is going to
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: be one where we don't get all the facts, and
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: I'm just assuming that the people that love her are
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: doing the best that they can.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: On a lighter note, do you think Kyle and Morgan
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: are lovers?
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: I think yeah, but I also think you don't really
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: hear about them too much anymore.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Well, I just don't think there's anything to say. We
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: see them together. They're walking around. They still haven't confirmed it.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: There's been little funny things that I've seen in comments
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: and stuff from some of the other cast members that
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: makes me think that we are going to see an
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: admission to it.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: See, I heard a rumor that people.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: in the know are disappointed because they're still being withholding
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: about it and that we're not going to get as
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: much as we want. And if we do get anything,
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: it's because like they're, they're caught doing things and not
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: because they're sharing things.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: Oh, got it.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Like that, that was the rumor.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: That I heard was that it wasn't like, this is
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: going to be Kyle's big gay season. We're still not
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: getting that.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Um, on a Delvey got the boot.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: And she was like, nothing. I don't, You know, and
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: I feel I've been, you know, used for a rating. Oh, like,
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: shut up. She's very entitled.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, she's the worst.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: She's very entitled, and I think that, you know, people
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: just didn't like that they didn't have fun with the
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: criminality like we did.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: No, I think, yeah, that's... You know what it reminds
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: me of? It's like you got more out of the
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: announcement of that casting than the actual casting.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Which is like, I do understand, but, you know, she.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Wasn't... Chaperone had canceled her music festival after... What was it?
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: She didn't want to... So she refused?
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Okay, so this is what it is. Okay, explain. So
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: she became extremely famous very fast.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: Love her songs.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: Love her music. I think she's actually one of the
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: great talents of her generation. I mean, I think she's
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: going to be around for a very long time, and
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: I really do believe that. But because her music is
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: so good, and because she connects to her fans so much,
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: she became psychotically famous within six months.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: So I remember I saw her.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: in like April 2023 like a little bit over a
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: year ago at the Fonda and it was like a
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: sold out Fonda show in Hollywood but you know it
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: was and it was clear there was an energy there
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: like it could become something few months later I saw
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: her at Brooklyn Steel in New York it was like
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: double the size and then earlier this year I went
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: to Coachella and I saw her perform first Friday of
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Coachella and it was clear something was really happening and
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: then since then it's exploded she did the tour with
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: Olivia Rodrigo so it's become a situation that probably the
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: quickest rise to fame of someone like her in a while.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: And she basically came out and said, in a nice
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: way at first, I want you all to know I'm
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: really struggling. I have depression about this. You guys, I
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: love you guys, but you are stalking my family. You
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: won't leave me alone. You yell at me on the street.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: I'm new to this and I'm really trying to grapple
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: with it. I'm grateful, but I want you to know
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: it scares me and overwhelms me.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: And people just couldn't let it go.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: Oh, she's ungrateful, ungrateful bitch, like, da-da-da, like, fuck her,
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: this is part of it, this is part of being famous.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: It's like, you guys, it's not that she's saying she
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: doesn't understand it's part of being famous.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: She's just saying, it is weird.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: Maybe we need to look at this system, which allows
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: you to think you have access to me in, like,
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: a physical way. You don't, and here are my boundaries.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: People couldn't, like, really let that go, and it became
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: the narrative about her. Then enter politics. And she did
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: a Rolling Stone article where she said there were problems
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: on both sides. And I think that conjured up for
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: some people a lot of Charlottesville bullshit when the both
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: sides bullshit Trump quote came out. And I think that
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: they equated her to like, oh, is she like low-key
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: a Trumper? She is from the Midwest, whatever. That's clearly
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: not the case. She came out and said... I'm not
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: a Trumper. I just think this fucked up politics on
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: both sides. I'm voting for her, but I'm not going
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: to endorse her, which is different.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: But also, like, why do you have to say? You
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: don't have to say. I mean, when voting began, it
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: was to go inside and shut the curtain, and nobody knew.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: And people said, don't talk about politics and religion. I
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: don't talk about it on the show. I have not
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: since 2016. I have a slip up here or there.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: But because I don't like to read the comments the
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: next day and I don't like people infighting when the
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: show should be an escape of comedy. So I understand
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: with that. But what I think is interesting is then
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: the conversation around, you know, she doesn't want to work
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: hard or whatever. She's one of those Gen Zers that
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: don't want to work. I love that, you know, we
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: all talk about Justin Bieber, P. Diddy or not. I've
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: told a story of when he came on Chelsea lately
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: and he was little, like I'm talking like 12 and
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: he was very sick. And I was like, Oh my God,
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: he's so sick. So what are we going to do
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: instead of the seven minute interview? And they're like, no,
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: a doctor's coming to give him a shot. And, and
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: so when I heard that song, you know, ever, I
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: was sick and no one gave a shit. I was like,
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: are they talking about that day at Chelsea? Like I
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: didn't think about P Diddy. I was just like, it
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: was pushing that child starter work. Miley Cyrus talks about it.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: She's not a child star, but like you said, It
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: came very quick, and I kind of appreciate that she's
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: speaking about it. Also, she doesn't have to go on tour,
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: or she could go on tour less, but of course
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: her label, that's where all the money is made. It's
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: not in actually people going and buying a physical record.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: So actually performing is a really big deal to keep
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: this going. So they're going to be like, not only
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: do the fans want to see it, but she's probably
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: got all this pressure from everywhere else. And so... I
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: appreciate her saying that, but I also, you know, it's
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: just a very interesting conversation of, like, when, you know,
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: with my generation and maybe with yours where it was
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: just like, no, you've got to take every opportunity. How
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: could you ever give up an opportunity?
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: Go, go, go.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Don't you want it? And she's just like, I don't
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: want to get to a place where I hate it.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Well, it's interesting because, like. So she's compared to Lady
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: Gaga and Madonna. So she is very much, it seems,
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: the Gen Z answer to the millennial Lady Gaga, and
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: then there was the Gen X Madonna, right?
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: So basically, they all had very interesting, different responses to
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: their fame. Madonna came up in a fame landscape where...
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: you could sort of be the pinup and go away
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: and then come back with a reinvention. You weren't being
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: watched 24-7.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Because there's no social media like that.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: Right, and so she had more of an old Hollywood
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: type of fame and she was dating Warren Beatty and
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: all that stuff. Then enter Lady Gaga a generation later.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: She had a very millennial response to fame where literally
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: her first album was called The Fame. She pretended to
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: be an expert on it. She actually pretended to want
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: to traffic in fame and all those things and when
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: she had a breakdown it was very behind the scenes
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: and now we know from her documentaries and stuff that
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: she was like incredibly anxious about things and it was
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: all sort of really a facade and she was dealing
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: with physical manifestations from all this and all sorts of stuff.
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: And she, I think, is having a very Gen Z
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: response to this. Which is she's having a very transparent,
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: depressive episode.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: And she's saying it.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: And also learning from the previous people.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean, one thing she said is that
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: the girls have really reached out to her and been
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: supportive of her. And all musicians have been rallying around
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: her because I think they get it in a way
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: that the fans never will. She's not just going up
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: on stage and singing a song two songs and leaving.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: She's going up on stage and being chapel roan. If
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: you watch her performances, she's giving everything. She's singing like
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: no one in her generation does. She's very energetic.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: It's a lot.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: And she's out there on the festival circuit, suddenly in
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: front of crowds of 70,000 people, give.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: The girl a fucking break.
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: And just because you don't like her explanation of who
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: she's voting for, stop demanding it of her then.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: No, and stop demanding of everybody. Also, I feel like if,
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: sharing your opinion hasn't worked in the past, you also
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: have the right not to. If you sharing your opinion
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: gets you hate on the other side, and that affects
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: your mental health, then you also have the right as
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: an artist, not a politician.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: But she doesn't want to do that.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: She doesn't want to, and she has every right to
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: just be like, leaving the fuck alone.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Well, no, I think that's the thing, though. She's not saying,
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: leave me the fuck alone. She wanted to say her
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: political opinion, and she did. And that's why she dug
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: in and said it.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: But still, it wasn't good enough, though. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: It's never... Yeah. I think it was many things that
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: being one of them, but that's why I also think
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: is an interesting conversation.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: The problem is with the fans. That's my opinion. The
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: problem is with the discourse and the fans.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: And then also just getting to a place where, you know,
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: stars have to also be like, here's my phone.
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: And I don't see it. Like I, so, you know, um,
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: I watched the Ellen, let me go to Ellen real
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: quick and then we're going to wrap it up. Um,
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: Because Ellen did her special. It's on Netflix. And it began,
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: and I was like, okay, I'm curious. And in the beginning,
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: it felt just very classic stand-up. Very relatable stand-up stuff.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: But then by the middle, I found it very interesting.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: To me, it was very juicy. Because she gets into
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: what happened, how all of a sudden she was the
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: meanest woman in the world. And there's some really funny
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: jokes in there which i don't want to ruin it
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: because you want to say but there were some really
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: funny jokes in there from going from like what she
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: was before to now the meanest and then her reflecting
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: on some of the things that she did. I did
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: a little TikTok on my opinion. I was reading the opinions.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: People don't agree with me. They're like, no, it was,
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: you know, she did some really awful, mean things. I
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: can't really remember. I never have been on the show
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: and I've never met her. I never worked for her, whatever. And,
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: but I did think there's some profound things that she
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: kind of basically says that any, where anybody, myself, you
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: on a certain level could gain some knowledge from of like, again,
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: you should care about what people think if you fucked up,
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: you should recognize that you can grow, but at the
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: same time, don't let it affect your ability to wanna live.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: The whole world hates me. You gotta just say it's
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: the people typing, and when you're driving around and going
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: to Ralph's, not everybody at Ralph's is writing and typing
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: and da-da-da-da, and you don't have to necessarily see it.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: So that's what I thought of it. I don't know
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: that she'll continue. She also said that she.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: She said she won't, right?
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Maybe she won't. I don't know.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: She said, this is it for me.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: Oh, all right.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: I thought she said beforehand, this will be my last stand-up.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: If this is it for her, I think it was
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: smart for her to have this legacy button on the
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: end of a 17-year thing, which in the last year
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: of it had that controversy happen that she was so mean.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: And I mean, one of the funniest things that I
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: thought was in the show, which I thought was so
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: where you have to have someone say it out loud
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: because someone who's not working television or Hollywood wouldn't understand it.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: And she goes, you know, I had an assistant who
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: was scared of snakes. And she talks a little about
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: that and how she did all the scaring things that
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: people then look back and was like, that was really
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: fucked up. You know, and the whole that was a
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: whole joke and. you know, low common denominator, but that's
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: what happens when you're working on your show. You're like,
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: this is what the boss thinks is funny. Let's all
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: do what they want. And she goes, and having a, a,
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: your own talk show is a, you, you get into
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: a place where you say, Hey, I think we should
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: have a panel in my office open up so that
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: fake snakes can go on down and scare my assistant.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: And when you're in that position in Hollywood, everyone goes, yeah,
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: that's a great idea. We'll get going on that. Meaning
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: that nobody, they're all yes men. Nobody says, you know, sycophants,
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: no one ever says, like, hey, what the fuck are
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: you doing? Because then they could lose their very coveted job,
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: which there aren't a lot of them. If you got
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: fired as an EP from Ellen, it's not like Jimmy
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: Kimmel's going to pick you up tomorrow. Again, you've got,
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: then you have real stink and they don't want to
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: piss off Ellen and take your first person. So, I
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: think that is the stuff, and I talk a lot
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: about it in Juicy Scoop, that my audience that may
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: not be in Hollywood are very intrigued by because it's
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: like those kind of things you're like, oh, okay, like
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: unless you lived it. And you wouldn't really know why.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: And I thought it was kind of good that she
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: kind of cracked it open and said it.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: So when she, in her special, I haven't watched it.
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: In her special, is she like, she talks about the
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: scaring thing, like this is just what we did and
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: no one said no?
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and then she's kind of like, and now that
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: I say it.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: So it's their fault?
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: No, it wasn't really like that. It was a little,
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: but it was also just like.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: It sounds like it was a little like that.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: It's a little, but she was also like, now that
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: I say it, I realize that, you know, how bad
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: it sounds. And that was a joke. And then she's
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: also just like, I didn't go, I didn't go to
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: business school. I wasn't taught to be a boss. And
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: then I was a boss. So she's a little bit.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: she wasn't saying I didn't deserve one bit of it,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: but she's also saying in retrospect, and then also the
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: difference between men and women, and how she did a
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: funny thing where it's like, she goes, when I saw
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: business meetings growing up, I always thought, it was in
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: a movie, and it was like, Joel, get in my office, pronto,
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: would be like a man. And she goes, but as
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: a woman, you would say, hey, Joel, if you get
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: a chance, could you come in here? I have something
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: I want to discuss with you. When you're free, when
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: you're free. And that is 100% true. That's the way
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: I would act with someone that worked for me. And
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: in raising men, I have a lot in my act
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: about how now I have a much greater understanding of
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: the difference between men and women. And I look back
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: at my dating and I'm like, that guy wasn't thinking
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: about what color dress I was going to wear to prom.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: But as a girl, you just grow. And she's 66.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: So I think she's starting to realize like, wow, fuck.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: But I also did a really good show for 17 years.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: And that shouldn't be erased either.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: It can contain multitudes. I mean, the thing about Ellen is.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Do you have Ellen stories?
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: I know people that worked for her and didn't like her.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: I mean, like, yeah. But here's the thing about Hollywood.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: It's not against the law to be an asshole. Yes.
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: You can be an asshole. Like, I've worked for assholes. Like,
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: I've worked alongside assholes. Like, I hear about assholes.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, yeah, exactly. That pull quote.
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: But it's not, you can be an asshole and run
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: your thing. If it rises to the level of misconduct,
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: that's one thing. I think everyone's problem with her is like,
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: there was a lot of stuff that was asshole behavior
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: that was rated, again, I don't have the article in
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: front of me, but it was rooted in some racism
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: and stuff like that.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: That's what I kind of don't remember.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Well, yeah, no one really remembers.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: But my thing with Ellen is it's like, I think
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: she had an opportunity to pivot to mean Ellen. Where's
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: Ellen's Curb Your Enthusiasm? For me it's like pivot to
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: something that takes, even if it's not true, use the
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: opportunity you're being given here to actually like, because I'm sorry,
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: but I look at Ellen DeGeneres, I don't believe that
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: she's the nicest person in the world, I.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Never really did.
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: And so my thing is like, this is now an opportunity.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: I don't think she has to be. But when you
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: brand yourself as the nicest person in the world, don't
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: be surprised when people are like, oh, you're not? When
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: you go out there and dance with everyone at the
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: top of the show, and it comes out later that
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: you fucking hated doing that, that's gonna be interesting to people.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: And it's about being disingenuous.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: And she does talk about it, and she does say
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: some really funny things, where she's like, I ended the
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: show with be kind, I should've just, if I would've said,
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: if I ended every show with go fuck yourself, it
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: would've worked out better. And I mean, there are certain
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: people that have reputations and whatever, but because the persona
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: or the comedy that they put out wasn't all about
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: being sweet and kind.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: Hers was about explicitly being kind. And so when it
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: comes out that you're not, that's why it's a thing.
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: It's not about, oh, why does Ellen have to be nice?
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: It's Ellen marketed herself as the queen of nice.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: And I think that's also a lesson to be learned.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: And I also think two years later, that's why she
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: can do this. And I do think this was a
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: good way to get it out and, you know, have
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: a special and be with all the other comedians having specials.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: I don't think at 66, I mean, she looks great,
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: but she is 66. And she's like, I have osteoporosis.
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: I have OCD, you know, ADHD. And she jokes about
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: all of those. But also I think she's 66. She's
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: super rich. And I think she's just like, I don't
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: want to do a curb enthusiasm. I don't want to
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: work that hard ever again. Right, yeah, totally. Which is
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: completely understandable. I mean, that's retirement age.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: She deserves to, whatever she needs to do now, whatever.
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: But if she's going to end with this special, then
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: we have the special to go on. And it kind
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: of sounds like she made a lot of excuses.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: Okay, I guess, I think, listen.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: It's okay if she did.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: It's kind of getting mixed. I liked it.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: That's fine if you liked it. You can like it and.
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: Also acknowledge that she made a lot of excuses.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: Yes, possibly. But like, I think that's easy to do
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: when you're like, you know what I mean? When you
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: look back at something, you're like, okay, yeah, that was,
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: I shouldn't have done that. However, like, I just think
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: that's kind of thing. But I thought, I thought it
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: was good. My only critique of it is I would
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: have started it off and I would have brought all
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: that juicy stuff right to the top. And then once
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: you've hooked them, then do the more relatable car jokes
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: and things like that. Because I think the reason maybe
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: some people didn't stick with it is that it starts out,
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: she makes a couple of funny references, and then she
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: does a solid funny bit about driving cars and stuff.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: But I think because she's so famous, you're like... I mean,
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: I remember Ricky Gervais had a great joke where he
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: was like, you know, I don't want to have kids
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: because I'm rich. And I don't want that little kid
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: to like... Whatever he said... And it was just so like,
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: oh my God, I've never thought about how he's like,
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: if I had a kid, it would most likely be
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: a drug addict. And then they'd be like, you heard
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: about Richie Gervais? I'm just thinking.
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: He puts the honest truth first. That's why Ricky Gervais
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: is so great. He doesn't give a fuck. He will
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: just say the truth. This is his perspective. This is
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: the joke. And I will put the joke before everything else.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: Whereas it feels like the subject of our current conversation
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: and a lot of people in her generation are, forget
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: that and they forget like why they got there is
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: because they were some of the best at what they
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: did so my thing is just like if you can't
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: be if you can't deal with the present you're not
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: gonna be a part of the future like find a
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: way to make comedy about the stuff that you're talking
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: about instead of just being like in my day which
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: is what it's become and these people don't tell jokes.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Anymore they don't.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: That's what sucks about the state of that level of stand-up.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: It's like you watch a Netflix special now and it's
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: more a confessional thing about, oh, well, you have to understand.
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: I didn't know that everyone didn't want to be scared.
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: It's like, okay, where is the joke here? You said
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: it comes, which is good.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: No, I'm telling you it's funny. Matt Rogers, not only
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: are you funny, you're a singer. I love your hot
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: takes on so many things we talked about today. Where
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: can they get more Matt Rogers in their life?
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: Well, they can listen to the podcast, Last Culture Recess,
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: out every Wednesday. That's with me and Bowen Yang. We
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: have actually just put out an episode with Will Ferrell
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: and Harper Steele. They have the documentary on Netflix.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Yes, awesome. Really fun episode.
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: Cool, that's great.
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: Yeah, we have a big segment coming up soon called
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: the Iconic 400. We're going to be counting down the
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: 400 most iconic figures.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: In pop culture.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: And what number am I?
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: Oh, I don't have the list in front of me.
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: And I have my tour. So my album is called
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: Have You Heard of Christmas? It's a Christmas album, but
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: it's also comedy.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: And I'm out there.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: I'm doing the Prince of Christmas tour. That's my sort
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: of title. I don't know if you knew that.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: Well, I do love it. The Prince of Christmas is
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: the best title ever.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: So it's based on Mariah being the queen of Christmas.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: We needed to fill out the royal court.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: I love that it's a Christmas thing. Yeah. You look
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: really cute. I like your outfit, your crown, your necklace.
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: I start on December 4th in Los Angeles and I
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: go all the way through the month and MattRogersOfficial.com.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: Congratulations. You're killing it. And it was so fun and
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: I'm so glad you finally got to make it to
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: Juicy Scoop and we'll definitely do it again.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
