- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to The Favorites, your go to NFL betting show.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We are part of the Action Network family of podcasts.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'm branding Kravitz, your host. Back at it with the
- 0:18Speaker 1: First Lady, Kendrim Middleton. On today's episode, the Divisional Previews continue.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We head east with our good pal John Yastremsky covering
- 0:27Speaker 1: a few of our favorite teams in the National Football League.
- 0:31Speaker 1: The division is ripe with disappointment, depression, and some devious
- 0:36Speaker 1: behavior from some folks in the Northeast. All d's what's
- 0:40Speaker 1: up Middleton?
- 0:41Speaker 2: How are you feeling, hi Vesty, I'm really good. How
- 0:43Speaker 2: are you?
- 0:44Speaker 1: I'm doing great. We guzzled some preseason football over the weekend.
- 0:49Speaker 1: We got to see Jackson Dark get rocked by the
- 0:52Speaker 1: Minnesota Vikings to a fumble the snap. I mean, it
- 0:55Speaker 1: feels like we're in mid season four.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah, how are you feeling about your.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Falcons?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Well, James Pierce wasn't suspended for the entire season, as
- 1:05Speaker 1: he probably should have been.
- 1:06Speaker 4: He don't even get me fucking started on the bullshit
- 1:10Speaker 4: that is James Pierce and this suspension and them pushing
- 1:14Speaker 4: the wags to women while simultaneously doing that.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I will take that Wenna. We're gonna zip past that
- 1:22Speaker 2: because I am very upset with the NFL right now.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah, from a betting perspective, it was a huge win
- 1:27Speaker 1: for me. From a personal morals perspective, the NFL has
- 1:31Speaker 1: learned nothing since Ray Rice, and that's really frustrating to see.
- 1:35Speaker 5: This is how women I By the way, it was
- 1:38Speaker 5: an auspicious start for Tua, but I would mention you know,
- 1:42Speaker 5: not all of these teams are putting their best foot
- 1:44Speaker 5: forward as far as who's playing.
- 1:46Speaker 1: The Denver Broncos were playing their starters on defense. They
- 1:49Speaker 1: have one of the best defenses in the NFL. It
- 1:52Speaker 1: wasn't exactly the best way for Tua to get his start,
- 1:55Speaker 1: like a comfortable preseason let me just throw some darts
- 1:58Speaker 1: and move down the field. It wasn't like that, and
- 2:01Speaker 1: so he was up against it. Of course, I sound
- 2:04Speaker 1: like as I've sounded all season, all off season, like
- 2:06Speaker 1: a two apologist. But here we are. Let's take a
- 2:09Speaker 1: closer look at the AFC East with our guest and
- 2:13Speaker 1: good friend John Yastremsky. John, I can't turn on my
- 2:16Speaker 1: TV or doom scroll TikTok without seeing your face, So
- 2:19Speaker 1: I guess that means that you're doing something right or
- 2:22Speaker 1: you're so deeply embedded into my algorithm that there's no
- 2:25Speaker 1: escaping it. But either way, it is a pleasure to
- 2:28Speaker 1: bring you back onto the podcast.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Truly, Well, gang, it's a pleasure to be back, Brandon
- 2:33Speaker 3: Kendra number one, I love you guys number two.
- 2:37Speaker 6: I look at the two of you as like.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Good karma and good juju, because the last time I
- 2:42Speaker 3: was on it was during the Knicks Hawks series, and
- 2:46Speaker 3: I was incredibly dismissive of the Hawks. I told both
- 2:49Speaker 3: of you the Knicks would win the series by margin,
- 2:52Speaker 3: and then when they're down two to one in the series.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I felt like a total horse.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Has asked about that, And then it felt like the
- 2:57Speaker 3: Knicks never lost the playoff game ever again, which, by
- 2:59Speaker 3: the way, it is still an out of body experience.
- 3:02Speaker 3: And even as someone that took fifteen to one and
- 3:05Speaker 3: felt good about the East because the East absolutely stunk,
- 3:09Speaker 3: I still can't believe I'm living in a world where
- 3:11Speaker 3: I'm wearing this hat right now, which by the way,
- 3:13Speaker 3: came two plus months later. Appreciate it better late than ever.
- 3:16Speaker 3: But yes, the Knicks to NBA champions in life is good.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Thank you fantastic. How was the parade?
- 3:24Speaker 3: I was in a studio doing live parade coverage, But
- 3:27Speaker 3: I can tell you, guys, being where Sny is his
- 3:30Speaker 3: four World Trade so basically overlooks the madness that is
- 3:35Speaker 3: Broadway and the Canyon of Heroes. And I've been to
- 3:38Speaker 3: a couple of these parades, like I went to the
- 3:40Speaker 3: nine Yankee Parade, came back from college. I went to
- 3:43Speaker 3: one of the nineties Yankees parades as a kid. This
- 3:46Speaker 3: was next level because it was fifty three years in
- 3:50Speaker 3: the making, and like people who got to the parade
- 3:53Speaker 3: route three hours before the parade were getting turned away.
- 3:56Speaker 6: Like it was insane.
- 3:58Speaker 3: How many people flock Madison Square board every Canyon Heroes.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Probably whatever the hell it is.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It was nuts.
- 4:05Speaker 3: It was pandemonium, and it was one hell of a party.
- 4:08Speaker 2: People couldn't get in.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeap producer, our producer out of trouble. I had work
- 4:16Speaker 1: with somebody in Orlando, Florida who flew up just to
- 4:19Speaker 1: go to the parade when there's enough people in Manhattan
- 4:22Speaker 1: to fill that thing by itself, and you had people
- 4:25Speaker 1: traveling into the city. Absolute madness. But more than anything, John,
- 4:29Speaker 1: I'm just happy that you were able to cash that ticket.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure I wound up betting the Hawks midway
- 4:34Speaker 1: through the series. I don't know. You gotta, you gotta
- 4:36Speaker 1: be a goldfish in this industry. I have such a
- 4:39Speaker 1: hard time remembering debts of the past unless they just
- 4:43Speaker 1: went down in horrible fashion. That's the only way that
- 4:46Speaker 1: I recall winning or losing.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Fun. You gotta.
- 4:54Speaker 2: And I'll take it.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I got you got, I got the blinders on tunnel vision.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's what's in front of you, what's he doesn't matter. Okay,
- 5:01Speaker 1: I'm not a storyteller. I'm a better So let's make
- 5:03Speaker 1: some money.
- 5:05Speaker 3: That's the idea, and listen, I look forward to make
- 5:08Speaker 3: it some money. The opening out of the year when
- 5:10Speaker 3: Lebron gets to see the banner raised, and I love
- 5:12Speaker 3: the fact that Lebron, by the way, was basically begging
- 5:15Speaker 3: to come to the Knicks. After the Knicks we're begging
- 5:17Speaker 3: him for like fifteen years. Police companies come, It's like,
- 5:20Speaker 3: now we're good, we don't need you. I like the
- 5:22Speaker 3: sound of that number one. And then I am very
- 5:25Speaker 3: much looking forward to Christmas Day on wrapping presents, probably
- 5:29Speaker 3: setting up all sorts of crap for my at the time.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Now she's fifteen months, so she'll be a little older
- 5:34Speaker 3: come Christmas. And then getting another lump of coal for
- 5:37Speaker 3: Victor Weoban Yama and San Antonio, so that'll be fantastic.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Anthony Town's wedding this weekend.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Kendrack, I was a little upset my invite, I
- 5:47Speaker 3: guess got lost in the mail, just like my met
- 5:49Speaker 3: Gala invite conveniently every year gets gets lost in the mail.
- 5:53Speaker 3: But yeah, like Ben Stiller, Chalome even, how did Justin
- 5:58Speaker 3: Bieber getting the invite? Good for him?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Nico Landry, I don't know if you know them, but
- 6:03Speaker 2: they were also there, which I think is crazy because
- 6:05Speaker 2: they've only been famous for a year. They won Love
- 6:07Speaker 2: Island last year.
- 6:09Speaker 6: That's how I was just about to ask you. I
- 6:11Speaker 6: was like, who's that?
- 6:12Speaker 3: I don't know?
- 6:12Speaker 2: I fas for a year and we're at Karl Anthony
- 6:15Speaker 2: Townsend Jordan Wood's wedding.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Hey, listen, influences. You got to know who you know,
- 6:19Speaker 3: and you know, life takes care of itself.
- 6:21Speaker 2: He's from Jacksonville, so at least someone from the nine
- 6:23Speaker 2: oh four was there.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Ah, there go is that that's your Jacksonville? Are you's
- 6:28Speaker 3: somewhere around Jacksonville. I'm from Jacksonville, Okay, so you can
- 6:31Speaker 3: identify with that area code.
- 6:32Speaker 2: But I live in Boston. I was born and raised
- 6:34Speaker 2: in JACKSONVID have a nine oh four area code. I
- 6:36Speaker 2: have nine oh four tattooed on my body Jackson.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Because Jeorge's tattooed onto her thighs. It's a whole thing.
- 6:44Speaker 3: By the way Kendrew's dogs started to cut you off
- 6:47Speaker 3: is incredible.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Kendrick.
- 6:49Speaker 3: If you ever come to New York and you need
- 6:50Speaker 3: a dog setter, just just drop Jackson off. I want
- 6:52Speaker 3: to hang with Jackson. Okay, perfects you dogs thattter, You're in.
- 6:57Speaker 1: The dog is next level. My dog's name is Jackson too.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But I think you might take a back seat to Kendris.
- 7:02Speaker 1: More likely to happen one of these teams inside of
- 7:05Speaker 1: the AFC East wins the Super Bowl, or let's frame
- 7:09Speaker 1: it like this plays in the Super Bowl, or one
- 7:12Speaker 1: of the teams in the AFC East has the number
- 7:14Speaker 1: one overall pick. If you had to bet one side,
- 7:16Speaker 1: which one would you bet? Oh?
- 7:18Speaker 3: That is a great, great question.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I really don't coming out here with Haymakers.
- 7:23Speaker 3: No, no, no, this is good. I like a haymaker right
- 7:25Speaker 3: from Jump Street. Knock me in the face. I would
- 7:28Speaker 3: say it's one of the teams playing in the Super Bowl.
- 7:31Speaker 3: And I know that's gonna sound shocking because I think
- 7:32Speaker 3: the Dolphins are going to stink. I think the Jets
- 7:34Speaker 3: are going to stink. But Arizona schedule and being in
- 7:40Speaker 3: the NFC West, where holy smokes, you've got San Francisco,
- 7:44Speaker 3: Seattle and the Rams. The NFC, to me, is a
- 7:48Speaker 3: much deeper and better conference than the AFC. So you
- 7:53Speaker 3: just try to do the math and you try to
- 7:55Speaker 3: line it up. I think it's justified that Arizona's favored
- 7:58Speaker 3: at the moment to have the first pick in the
- 7:59Speaker 3: Dry and one of these years, Gang Josh Allen's.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Got to break their right.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I mean, I wouldn't necessarily bet on it. I'm not
- 8:08Speaker 3: necessarily telling you what's going to happen. But you're giving
- 8:11Speaker 3: me two possible outcomes. I'll go with Josh Allen and
- 8:15Speaker 3: the team that was in the Super Bowl a year ago,
- 8:18Speaker 3: as opposed to I don't know, Miami and the Jets
- 8:21Speaker 3: finishing with a worse record than the Cardinals.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Are you not worried about this stupid ass stadium that
- 8:27Speaker 2: they just built, and them still being cursed and wearing
- 8:29Speaker 2: the diet Pepsi Can uniforms. I think that that's just
- 8:32Speaker 2: so Bills, well.
- 8:33Speaker 3: The uniforms number one, Kender are disgusting. Number two, how
- 8:37Speaker 3: do you screw that up? With the stadium? You have
- 8:39Speaker 3: so many geniuses that like design this crap. AI engineers
- 8:45Speaker 3: everything up the wazoo. Don't give me ten zillion seats
- 8:50Speaker 3: that have obstructed views. That's amateur, that's pathetic. They do
- 8:55Speaker 3: have a lot of negative juju attached to them, but
- 8:58Speaker 3: they did make a coaching change, and I don't know
- 9:01Speaker 3: what Joe Brady is going to bring as a head coach.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I know that Sean McDermott's teams had a knack for
- 9:07Speaker 3: playing really well in the regular season and coming up
- 9:10Speaker 3: short time and time and time again called playoff time.
- 9:14Speaker 3: So I get the skepticism here with the Bills there,
- 9:17Speaker 3: and I want to point this out for win totals
- 9:20Speaker 3: with all fort these teams in the AFC East, the
- 9:23Speaker 3: schedules gang are absolutely positively brutal. Like the idea that
- 9:31Speaker 3: New England, who last year had his easier road that
- 9:35Speaker 3: you could possibly have to get to a super Bowl.
- 9:38Speaker 3: That is not happening again. They are not going to
- 9:40Speaker 3: get a last play schedule. You gotta to play the
- 9:43Speaker 3: NFC No. North four tough teams. You gotta ploy the
- 9:46Speaker 3: AFC West. Three of the four are really tough teams.
- 9:51Speaker 3: It's gonna be I think the winner of the afcast.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Let's put it this way. I think it's going like
- 9:55Speaker 3: ten and seven this year.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So what And I mean that the Dolphins are more
- 9:58Speaker 2: likely to have the first pick.
- 10:00Speaker 6: But the Cardinals have six or a.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but I kind of believe in the Cardinals more
- 10:05Speaker 2: like I gotta be honest with you. I'm more likely
- 10:08Speaker 2: to bet on carterson Beck at this point than I
- 10:10Speaker 2: am Malik Willis. Really Yeah, dude, the Dolphins line is
- 10:14Speaker 2: ass and at least the Cardinals have a weapon and
- 10:17Speaker 2: they have some defensive players.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Okay, I don't think the Dolphins offensive line is going
- 10:22Speaker 3: to be brutal. This Proctor kid they draft in the
- 10:24Speaker 3: first round point at guard, I think helps him. They're
- 10:28Speaker 3: gonna look at this other kid. I can't pronounce his
- 10:30Speaker 3: last name, Jonah Savage. It's Hawaiian. I'm gonna screw it up,
- 10:34Speaker 3: so I'm not I'm gonna try to say it. They
- 10:36Speaker 3: had him playing at left guard last year. It was
- 10:38Speaker 3: total in this cast. Now they're putting him at right guard.
- 10:41Speaker 3: They have a solid left tackle, they have an outstanding center.
- 10:43Speaker 3: I think they'll be able to run the ball. I
- 10:45Speaker 3: like Malik Willis. I am Malik Willis. Showed you he
- 10:48Speaker 3: can do some really good things. So with the Green
- 10:50Speaker 3: Bay Packers last year. Now are you telling me he's
- 10:52Speaker 3: going to be a top half quarterback in the league.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I'm not willing to go that far, but I'm going
- 10:57Speaker 3: to compare it to a guy who's playing the college
- 10:59Speaker 3: a year ago from.
- 11:00Speaker 6: Miami who I couldn't wait to bet against Ketch. I
- 11:02Speaker 6: don't know. I'd rather have a week what it was
- 11:04Speaker 6: starting for me.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I think Carsonback's played more football, to be honest.
- 11:08Speaker 1: All right, before we get too far ahead of ourselves,
- 11:10Speaker 1: let's go team by team here. And the way that
- 11:13Speaker 1: we've been doing this John is we're we're previewing the team.
- 11:17Speaker 1: He just touched on it a little bit with the
- 11:19Speaker 1: Bills and the Dolphins, best case scenario for each squad,
- 11:23Speaker 1: best way to bet them, and then at the end
- 11:26Speaker 1: of the episode, we'll give out our best bet of
- 11:28Speaker 1: the overall division. No surprise that the Buffalo Bills have
- 11:32Speaker 1: flamed out yet again in the playoffs. They do this
- 11:35Speaker 1: every year. Joe Brady now the head coach, I'm getting
- 11:38Speaker 1: I watched a lot of his press conferences. It's kind
- 11:40Speaker 1: of been one of my off season missions is to
- 11:42Speaker 1: watch more coach speak press conferences. I get major substitute
- 11:47Speaker 1: teacher vibes from him. But they had to do something different.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Sean McDermott's time has had come. And then they bring
- 11:54Speaker 1: in Jim Leonard the new defensive coordinator. He should be
- 11:57Speaker 1: much more aggressive defensively. But is there concern that for
- 12:01Speaker 1: a team whose window is wide open? Are going to
- 12:04Speaker 1: usher in a head coach, a young, inexperienced head coach
- 12:09Speaker 1: for a team that should be ready made to at
- 12:11Speaker 1: least compete for a Super Bowl? Yeah?
- 12:13Speaker 3: I think it's the million dollar question. And let's be honest.
- 12:17Speaker 3: You can do this for basically every coordinator that takes
- 12:20Speaker 3: over for the first time when they become a head coach.
- 12:23Speaker 3: We want to think that we know. Like last year,
- 12:26Speaker 3: I think we were all supremely confident Ben Johnson was
- 12:29Speaker 3: going to be a successful head coach that ended up
- 12:32Speaker 3: coming home the roost. There are a lot of situations
- 12:35Speaker 3: where it's like, I don't know, Like they call plays,
- 12:38Speaker 3: like the way they call plays. They could relate to
- 12:40Speaker 3: offensive players, can they relate to fifty three guys?
- 12:43Speaker 6: Can they lead men?
- 12:44Speaker 3: Or can they deal with the time management, the challenges,
- 12:47Speaker 3: everything that comes with being an NFL head coach. To
- 12:50Speaker 3: sit here and tell you I know what Joe Brady
- 12:52Speaker 3: is going to be would just be absolute bs. I
- 12:56Speaker 3: don't know.
- 12:56Speaker 6: To your point, though, they had to do something different.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Because how many years can you keep doing the exact
- 13:02Speaker 3: same thing. Win a division for the most part, get
- 13:06Speaker 3: to the playoffs, lose in soul crushing fashion in the playoffs.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Josh Allen's your quarterback. It's one of the best quarterbacks
- 13:13Speaker 3: in football. You can make the argument at the moment
- 13:15Speaker 3: he's the best quarterback in football. I'm okay with the
- 13:18Speaker 3: coaching change. To me, the best case scenario for the
- 13:21Speaker 3: Bills is that they finally break through.
- 13:24Speaker 6: They get to a Super Bowl, and.
- 13:26Speaker 3: If they get there, you have Josh Allen. You're gonna
- 13:28Speaker 3: have a puncher's chance to win it. They've been knocking
- 13:30Speaker 3: at the door so many damn times. How many more
- 13:34Speaker 3: AFC divisional round and championship game losses can you take
- 13:37Speaker 3: as a fan.
- 13:38Speaker 6: So I think the best way to bet the Bills
- 13:41Speaker 6: is for them to go and win a division.
- 13:43Speaker 3: And the reason I say that is because Josh Allen
- 13:45Speaker 3: wins ten plus games every year and plays. There's a
- 13:49Speaker 3: question of durability. With a lot of other guys throughout
- 13:52Speaker 3: the league. You could pencil Josh Allen in for every
- 13:55Speaker 3: single start. He's gonna be there. There's something to that.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Drake May.
- 14:00Speaker 6: I like Drake May.
- 14:02Speaker 3: We'll get to the Patriots and how they might in
- 14:04Speaker 3: a way.
- 14:05Speaker 6: They're like a riddle to me.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure out where they are and I'll
- 14:09Speaker 3: explain a little bit later on. But other than last year,
- 14:12Speaker 3: Buffalo wins the division every year, Aun's in the playoffs
- 14:14Speaker 3: every year. I'll take my chances.
- 14:17Speaker 2: See, I'm not high on Buffalo at all. This here
- 14:20Speaker 2: I love a bit. We know that about me. Both
- 14:22Speaker 2: of you know that about me. I talk to both
- 14:24Speaker 2: of you every single week. I have been watching the
- 14:27Speaker 2: coaches speak as well as Kravitz. My big thing here
- 14:30Speaker 2: is I do appreciate that Josh Allen has been very
- 14:33Speaker 2: open that him and Joe Brady beef a lot. They
- 14:36Speaker 2: are very competitive with each other. I was listening to
- 14:39Speaker 2: a recap of their preseason game and him throwing that
- 14:42Speaker 2: challenge flag was actually because Josh Allen was telling him to,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and Josh Allen owned up to that. I like the
- 14:47Speaker 2: dynamic that they have. I think it's a little bit
- 14:49Speaker 2: more of like a relatable friendship dynamic. And I appreciate
- 14:51Speaker 2: that they're competitive with each other. But one, this division
- 14:55Speaker 2: is way too difficult. Two, I don't think that the
- 14:58Speaker 2: addition of DJ Moore is going to be that big
- 15:01Speaker 2: of a difference maker for them. I think if Josh
- 15:03Speaker 2: Allen was this world beater quarterback that everybody thinks that
- 15:06Speaker 2: he is, he would elevate receivers in a way that
- 15:09Speaker 2: we don't see him do. And I think that that's
- 15:12Speaker 2: my biggest concern. I'm so sick of Bill's fans talking
- 15:15Speaker 2: about how Josh Allen's never had won a number one receiver.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Do you guys forget that Stefan Diggs was on this
- 15:20Speaker 2: team in his absolute prime. My thing is here. I
- 15:24Speaker 2: am so so so in on the Bills under for
- 15:26Speaker 2: the season. I don't even think that they're going to
- 15:28Speaker 2: win this division. I think it's New England's to lose
- 15:31Speaker 2: just because. Do I think that New England has the
- 15:33Speaker 2: better roster. No, But I look at the beginning of
- 15:35Speaker 2: the Bill's schedule, specifically the beginning, because everybody's going to
- 15:39Speaker 2: be at their healthiest. They open their season at Houston,
- 15:43Speaker 2: then home against the Lions, home against the Chargers, home
- 15:46Speaker 2: against the Patriots, off to Elay to face the Rams.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I think the Raiders are going to be better than
- 15:50Speaker 2: people give them credit for. Then they're going to play
- 15:52Speaker 2: the Ravens Vikings. They get a break against the Jets
- 15:55Speaker 2: and the Dolphins, and then they're right back in it
- 15:57Speaker 2: with Chiefs, Patriots, away, Packers, away Bears at home, Broncos
- 16:01Speaker 2: on the road, and then they finish out with the
- 16:03Speaker 2: Dolphins and the Jets.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Again.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I don't see in a schedule like that how they
- 16:08Speaker 2: get to ten wins.
- 16:10Speaker 1: They do it every single year, you know. I think
- 16:13Speaker 1: for me, I go the other direction. As far as
- 16:15Speaker 1: betting Buffalo, they've been the easiest over bet in the
- 16:18Speaker 1: NFL six years in a row. If Josh Allen is
- 16:21Speaker 1: upright and the defense is marginally improved, getting to eleven
- 16:27Speaker 1: wins for them would almost feel like they didn't perform
- 16:30Speaker 1: well enough, and the fact that you still get them
- 16:33Speaker 1: at ten and a half slightly juiced to the over.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I haven't bet it yet, but if you were to
- 16:38Speaker 1: bet Buffalo to me, it's over a pass.
- 16:40Speaker 2: If you can't do it in a year like last year, though,
- 16:43Speaker 2: when no AFC quarterback is standing except for Trevor Lawrence,
- 16:46Speaker 2: you're not going to do it.
- 16:47Speaker 3: We all right, but you're having a playoff conversation precisely
- 16:52Speaker 3: like Buffalo in January. I think it's a much different
- 16:56Speaker 3: conversation in September through December. Alan puts up numbers year.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Alan performs every year, and he's out there like, how
- 17:04Speaker 3: many of these quarterbacks? Is it? Like? Oh? Am I
- 17:06Speaker 3: going to get ten games out of him? Am I
- 17:07Speaker 3: going to get fourteen games out of him? I'm not
- 17:09Speaker 3: trying to mush Josh Allen as far as an injury goes, Dude,
- 17:13Speaker 3: he's built like a freaking tang.
- 17:15Speaker 2: That's another reason that I want to fade him though,
- 17:17Speaker 2: because nobody survives this league unscathed, and unfortunately you do
- 17:22Speaker 2: kind of have to project injuries. He's never really had
- 17:26Speaker 2: an injury for a season that he's had to sit
- 17:29Speaker 2: out because his best ability is his availability. But that's
- 17:32Speaker 2: the thing is that's something you have to think about,
- 17:34Speaker 2: and eventually every single quarterback is going to get hurt,
- 17:36Speaker 2: and he's had some serious favorability in that sense.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Okay, I have a question for you, then, Yeah, would
- 17:41Speaker 3: you bet Buffalo miss the playoffs?
- 17:43Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 17:44Speaker 3: I feel like if you're like so committed to their under.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Literally just the schedule. I respect Josh Allen, I respect
- 17:53Speaker 2: who he is. I'm just so sick of having the
- 17:55Speaker 2: conversation if he's the best ever. And I think that
- 17:58Speaker 2: most of that is their fans and the fact that
- 18:00Speaker 2: their fans are insane. But I just do not believe
- 18:03Speaker 2: in this team this season for everything that I just said.
- 18:07Speaker 2: And it's hard to convince people of that because they
- 18:10Speaker 2: do hit that win total every single year and he
- 18:12Speaker 2: is incredible and pulls games out of his ass, but
- 18:14Speaker 2: new coach. I just it's a big question mark for
- 18:18Speaker 2: me in a season where I think the AFC is
- 18:20Speaker 2: going to be so hungry.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Lu's two fifty five to miss the playoffs. I think
- 18:25Speaker 1: that's a bet for Kendrick is. This is This is
- 18:28Speaker 1: as adamant as I have heard you in any of
- 18:30Speaker 1: the divisional previews that we've had.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Kendra add on the Bills, Okay, yeah, out.
- 18:35Speaker 1: On, out on Buffalo. I would take them over ten
- 18:37Speaker 1: and a half wins. I'm just gonna just sort of lay.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Up on that point win a division. That would be
- 18:43Speaker 3: my bet on the Bills.
- 18:43Speaker 6: I can't.
- 18:44Speaker 2: We got those fans to crucify me in our chat.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So John, you're willing to lay the juice on that
- 18:49Speaker 1: there minus won thirty six to win the division?
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, because of the fact that I think the schedule
- 18:56Speaker 3: is going to really hurt those top two teams in
- 18:58Speaker 3: the AFCAS a lot of tough games. Kender went through
- 19:01Speaker 3: the schedule, and New England has to deal with something similar.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Like I said, ten wins, I think wins you thefc
- 19:08Speaker 3: IS this year?
- 19:09Speaker 2: Oh for sure?
- 19:11Speaker 1: Right all, let's move to New England quite the season
- 19:14Speaker 1: in twenty twenty five, they're over. Under was eight and
- 19:16Speaker 1: a half. I bet they're under last year that did
- 19:19Speaker 1: not go well. They go on to win fourteen games
- 19:23Speaker 1: and march their way to the Super Bowl with the
- 19:25Speaker 1: runner up to the NFL MVP Award playing quarterback. Everything
- 19:29Speaker 1: that could have gone well went well until they met Seattle.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But still for a Patriots fan, tough to be disappointed
- 19:36Speaker 1: in the way that last year went. If I had
- 19:38Speaker 1: told you going into the season they'd be in the
- 19:40Speaker 1: super Bowl, every Pats fan would take that. The vibes
- 19:43Speaker 1: are high as far as the roster goes. But man,
- 19:45Speaker 1: did things get weird this offseason, and it does feel
- 19:48Speaker 1: like people are starting to forget this whole Mike Rabel
- 19:51Speaker 1: Diana Orsini thing. John, Are we passed that as a
- 19:54Speaker 1: storyline for this team heading into the season or does
- 19:57Speaker 1: it still loom for you as far as hats analysis
- 20:00Speaker 1: in some weird voyeuristic way.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Okay, for us, we can have fune with it if
- 20:06Speaker 3: you want to call it that. I don't think the
- 20:08Speaker 3: team really cares.
- 20:11Speaker 6: I think at this point it's all ball. They've moved
- 20:14Speaker 6: past it.
- 20:15Speaker 3: They scrolled through their tmzs, they scrolled through their Instagrams
- 20:18Speaker 3: and their Twitters. I don't think it's gonna end up
- 20:22Speaker 3: being much of a thing for Mike variable That's my fe.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Do you think that there was ever a betting? Because
- 20:26Speaker 1: we've talked about this a lot on this show, do
- 20:27Speaker 1: you think that at any point in this story from
- 20:29Speaker 1: it from it's the initial headline and the shock of
- 20:33Speaker 1: it all. Do you think there was ever a betting
- 20:35Speaker 1: angle to this or was it always separation of church
- 20:38Speaker 1: and state.
- 20:41Speaker 3: If it was still lingering at this point, like when
- 20:44Speaker 3: more stories were coming out, like during training camp, I
- 20:48Speaker 3: think we'd have to dissect it a little bit further
- 20:50Speaker 3: as far as a betting angle is concerned. For me, no,
- 20:54Speaker 3: it's I think what it is done, though, is it's
- 20:58Speaker 3: enhanced the thought of Hangover City for the Patriots, and that,
- 21:03Speaker 3: to me is the theme of this team going into
- 21:05Speaker 3: the year super Bowl losers, unless you got like Patrick
- 21:09Speaker 3: Mahomes or Tom Brady. They deal with the inevitable Super
- 21:15Speaker 3: Bowl loser regression.
- 21:17Speaker 1: It's like that funk.
- 21:18Speaker 6: It's like trying to come out of it.
- 21:20Speaker 3: And everything about the Patriots schedule you detailed last year,
- 21:24Speaker 3: Cupcake City, the road to the super Bowl was probably
- 21:27Speaker 3: the easiest road to the super Bowl I've ever seen
- 21:29Speaker 3: in my life. I mean, they played the Chargers, who
- 21:31Speaker 3: were a gutless team and had no offensive tackles and
- 21:34Speaker 3: a quarterback who never wins a big game in Herbert
- 21:37Speaker 3: hasn't won a playoff game yet. C J.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Stroud, you know what the narratives are surrounding him.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I think he just threw another interception, by the way,
- 21:43Speaker 3: in that Divisional round game and cost me more money.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Maybe I'm sounding salty because I bet against the Patriots
- 21:48Speaker 3: in both of those games. And then, oh, by the way,
- 21:50Speaker 3: they got to the ANFC Championship game and they should
- 21:53Speaker 3: have lost to Jared Stidham and the Denver Broncos. They
- 21:56Speaker 3: got absolutely waxed by the Seahawks. Full of go and
- 22:00Speaker 3: cash those tickets. It was free money. I'm so glad
- 22:02Speaker 3: I took it.
- 22:03Speaker 6: Here's what I'll say about the Patriots. I think they're
- 22:06Speaker 6: much better.
- 22:08Speaker 3: They added aj Brown, they added Romeo Dobbs.
- 22:11Speaker 6: I like Drake May.
- 22:14Speaker 3: That all being said, Kendra, their Super Bowl hangover team.
- 22:20Speaker 3: We're the lead betting. What's the lead?
- 22:23Speaker 6: Please?
- 22:23Speaker 2: We're burying the lead here. The reason that the Recini
- 22:26Speaker 2: Vrabel situation has been buried is because of the battle
- 22:30Speaker 2: between Christian Gonzales and Devin Witherspoon for the contract. That's
- 22:35Speaker 2: the conversation around the Patriots right now. You can't have
- 22:37Speaker 2: two at the same time, I suppose.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I mean, we're all we're all just brains. They just
- 22:43Speaker 1: follow one headline.
- 22:45Speaker 2: No, that's seriously, what's going on it's literally just been
- 22:48Speaker 2: and I can say this on a podcast but not
- 22:50Speaker 2: the radio, and I get in trouble for this all
- 22:52Speaker 2: the time and they have to dump me. It is
- 22:54Speaker 2: turned into a pissing contest. And that is exactly what's
- 22:57Speaker 2: going on here. The entirety of the league and fans
- 23:00Speaker 2: and everything like this jumped off of Therasiini Vrabel wagon
- 23:03Speaker 2: because it's the oh, well, we're waiting for him to sign,
- 23:06Speaker 2: so he can sign and he can be the highest
- 23:08Speaker 2: paid player for a week before it's somebody else, and
- 23:11Speaker 2: the drama of it, Like that's the whole thing for
- 23:13Speaker 2: me here is that, especially working in this market, the
- 23:17Speaker 2: second that these contract negotiations started, it was like the
- 23:20Speaker 2: Rabel Rasiini thing was just gone and it didn't matter.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Well good, I mean that's I do think that if
- 23:26Speaker 1: there is that hangover where it's gonna be one of
- 23:29Speaker 1: those things where we look at it through the rear
- 23:31Speaker 1: view mirror. If the Patriots get off to a rough start,
- 23:33Speaker 1: we're gonna say that the that the relationship stuff matters.
- 23:37Speaker 1: If they're great, we'll go it's football, No one cares.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I will think the way we're just going to handle
- 23:41Speaker 1: it based on the way that the future plays itself out.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I will say the giant conversation of the weakest part
- 23:48Speaker 2: of this Patriots team through training camp has been the
- 23:52Speaker 2: offensive line Will Campbell. Will Campbell's brutal, It's so bad,
- 23:58Speaker 2: and he doesn't seem like he is learned a lot
- 24:00Speaker 2: of the lessons that you would think someone would after
- 24:03Speaker 2: historically the worst Super Bowl performance of all time. I
- 24:06Speaker 2: was very much in the camp that I think that
- 24:08Speaker 2: they could have managed Caleb Lomo in his transition to
- 24:11Speaker 2: a position a little bit better. But the conversation around
- 24:15Speaker 2: camp right now seems to be that these offensive linemen
- 24:18Speaker 2: who get drafted need to sit and learn for a year,
- 24:22Speaker 2: and most of them are not ready to go off
- 24:23Speaker 2: of the rip. And I could totally see that, and
- 24:25Speaker 2: I agree with it because it's an experiment that has
- 24:27Speaker 2: happened two years in a row now for the Patriots.
- 24:29Speaker 2: But as we know, as people who watch football as
- 24:32Speaker 2: closely as we do, sometimes, like in baseball or certain
- 24:36Speaker 2: lines in hockey, it takes an offensive line a very
- 24:40Speaker 2: specific moment to click. And I think that that is
- 24:43Speaker 2: what could happen with this Patriots team. Is that offensive
- 24:47Speaker 2: line at one moment could just click and gel and
- 24:50Speaker 2: that could happen. I just there's so it's I talk
- 24:54Speaker 2: about this a lot on this show and my Saturday show.
- 24:57Speaker 2: It's there's a fine line between having older guys like
- 25:01Speaker 2: Morgan Moses and having a bunch of young guys on
- 25:03Speaker 2: the team and them being able to bounce off of
- 25:05Speaker 2: each other. It just has to be that perfect moment.
- 25:08Speaker 2: And I'm not sure if this Patriots team has the
- 25:11Speaker 2: perfect amount of balance on that line at the moment.
- 25:13Speaker 6: I think that's a great point on the line.
- 25:15Speaker 3: And Morgan Moses solid pro still a very solid player
- 25:20Speaker 3: for other times undefeated. That's going to be a major concern.
- 25:23Speaker 3: And they signed Elijah Vera Tucker who is very talented,
- 25:27Speaker 3: but I'm telling you right now, if you get him
- 25:29Speaker 3: from more than seven games, it's a miracle. The guy
- 25:32Speaker 3: does not play football. He is a walking injury. Can't
- 25:35Speaker 3: expect much.
- 25:36Speaker 2: And here's the other thing too, So Mike Vraebel has
- 25:38Speaker 2: said that there is a world where they could carry
- 25:41Speaker 2: all seven of these receivers into the season. I don't
- 25:44Speaker 2: think they spend an eighth of their roster on one position,
- 25:47Speaker 2: but this room's probably going to look a little bit different.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I think Kishan Booty probably going to be traded. I
- 25:52Speaker 2: don't know what for the perceiver.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I like Booty, he's good player. I like it.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Surprised you have a really deep real Kashawan Boody probably
- 26:01Speaker 2: will not be on this team week one. I'm gonna
- 26:02Speaker 2: tell you guys that now.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Kravit send him to Miami poase. Seriously, he'd
- 26:07Speaker 3: be the second receiver.
- 26:09Speaker 1: He'd be the number one receiver.
- 26:11Speaker 6: Almost Douglas.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Like Caleb Douglas, I knew that. I knew is I
- 26:16Speaker 1: know we weren't getting past. I knew we weren't getting past.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Then AFC's discussion without mentioning Caleb Douglas A J. Brown.
- 26:22Speaker 1: If we're going to talk about receivers in this team
- 26:24Speaker 1: before we start betting it and talk about best case scenario,
- 26:27Speaker 1: we got to talk about AJ Brown. They add Romeo
- 26:29Speaker 1: Dobbs as well. Kendraw is right to point out with Buffalo. Hey,
- 26:33Speaker 1: by the way, guys, you know they used to have
- 26:35Speaker 1: Stephan Diggs. Well, Drake may had Stephan Diggs last year too,
- 26:38Speaker 1: and he was still really good. But they've improved in
- 26:41Speaker 1: a big way in terms of the pass catchers. I
- 26:44Speaker 1: think this The defense was sort of the star of
- 26:47Speaker 1: the show last year and Drake May's efficiency. I think
- 26:50Speaker 1: the offense could take a really big step forward. That's
- 26:53Speaker 1: one of the reasons why John you talked about this
- 26:56Speaker 1: team as a riddle. They have all of the signs,
- 26:59Speaker 1: the neon signs for regression. Based on the way last
- 27:02Speaker 1: year went, it was almost too easy in a league
- 27:05Speaker 1: that is very difficult. But they they have what matters.
- 27:08Speaker 1: They have a defense, they've got a good head coach,
- 27:10Speaker 1: and their offense should be better than it was even
- 27:12Speaker 1: last year.
- 27:13Speaker 3: That's what's scary about betting there on there. Yeah, I
- 27:17Speaker 3: thought for sure, for sure, I was locking in Patriots
- 27:22Speaker 3: under whatever it is Patriots to miss the playoffs, Kenjer.
- 27:25Speaker 3: The more and more I've thought about it, it's now
- 27:28Speaker 3: officially a stay away from me. Ah, it may happen.
- 27:33Speaker 3: My gut tells me if I had it, If you're
- 27:35Speaker 3: telling me, Jj you have to bet the Patriots one way,
- 27:38Speaker 3: I probably would bet them to miss the playoffs, but
- 27:39Speaker 3: I just don't feel good about it.
- 27:41Speaker 2: So the other thing I will say is that their
- 27:43Speaker 2: schedule is ten times more favorable in my opinion than
- 27:47Speaker 2: the Bills, and it's not even close. I can run
- 27:49Speaker 2: through it if you would like, yeah, please, Okay. So
- 27:52Speaker 2: they start obviously that huge game against Seattle. I think
- 27:55Speaker 2: Seattle's going to kick their ass home against the Steelers,
- 27:58Speaker 2: on the road against the Jags, then Bills, and then
- 28:00Speaker 2: it's Raiders, Jets, Bears, Dolphins home against the Packers, away,
- 28:05Speaker 2: Lions at the Chargers, home against the Bills, home against
- 28:09Speaker 2: the Vikings, at the Chiefs, and then they finished Jets, Broncos,
- 28:13Speaker 2: Dolphins two of the three at home, and the Dolphins
- 28:16Speaker 2: in January. They're gonna sit everybody, nobody's going to play
- 28:18Speaker 2: in that game.
- 28:19Speaker 6: Well, the games come on exactly.
- 28:23Speaker 2: But my my thing with that is I think that
- 28:26Speaker 2: that's ten times more favorable than the Bill's schedule.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Well from what's the curiously, because like Buffalo finished in
- 28:32Speaker 3: second place last year, the Patriots finished in first place.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Is it because of like who they're playing at home
- 28:40Speaker 3: compared to who they're playing on the road, Like just curious, No, it's.
- 28:43Speaker 2: For me, it's how like hot and heavy the Bills
- 28:46Speaker 2: start their season. Well, I think the Bills could go
- 28:51Speaker 2: four and three to start their season, if not worse,
- 28:54Speaker 2: just because of the caliber of teams that they play.
- 28:56Speaker 2: And the thing is is that if they reversed their
- 28:59Speaker 2: skaledle and had all of those teams at the end,
- 29:02Speaker 2: it's that everybody is going to be healthy on every
- 29:05Speaker 2: single team that you were going to play. If it
- 29:07Speaker 2: were a war of attrition, I would be on the
- 29:09Speaker 2: Bills because of the availability of Josh Allen. But it's
- 29:12Speaker 2: more so that you're playing all of these tough teams
- 29:14Speaker 2: when everybody is going to be healthy. Off of the rip.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Well, I to think about this for a second. You
- 29:20Speaker 3: finish in second place instead of no offense, Kendra, I'd
- 29:24Speaker 3: much rather play the Jaguars than the Texans. Buffalo never
- 29:27Speaker 3: wins in Houston, and by the way, I've already bet
- 29:29Speaker 3: Houston week one. It's one of my favorite bets.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Buffalo rarely wins in Jacksonville as well. I would like
- 29:36Speaker 2: it to be known I have been too many of those.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Yes, you are correct, and they've had trouble in London. Two.
- 29:41Speaker 3: It didn't happen in the playoffs, but I didn't want
- 29:43Speaker 3: to go there. You set me up, so I apologize
- 29:45Speaker 3: in events. But then the other one is instead of
- 29:47Speaker 3: getting Pittsburgh, who finished in first, you get the Ravens,
- 29:51Speaker 3: and you know, I'm just like doing the exercise in
- 29:54Speaker 3: my head. I'm like, well, how is it more favorable schedule? Those?
- 29:57Speaker 6: To me are two games right there that just come off.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Tip your toepe the Patriot don't play the Ravens in
- 30:01Speaker 2: the mills standing sadly. But my actual follow on this
- 30:06Speaker 2: was I think the way to bet the Patriots in
- 30:10Speaker 2: particular is going to be this running back battle. I
- 30:14Speaker 2: have a feeling that when someone shows you who you are,
- 30:17Speaker 2: you should listen. And I don't know what it is
- 30:19Speaker 2: about Rabel and Ramandre Stevenson and the love that they
- 30:22Speaker 2: have there. And he did get back on track towards
- 30:25Speaker 2: the end of the year last year, but Traveon Henderson
- 30:27Speaker 2: is there. He's knocking on the door and he's waiting
- 30:29Speaker 2: and ready. What do we think about the potential of
- 30:32Speaker 2: Travon Henderson and kind of moving into that slot. Is
- 30:36Speaker 2: there any way you guys look at any long term
- 30:38Speaker 2: anything for Travion or do you think that because Ramandre
- 30:40Speaker 2: and Rabel love each other, that that's just kind of
- 30:43Speaker 2: there and it is what it is, Because if he
- 30:44Speaker 2: was gonna bench Hi, it would have been when he
- 30:46Speaker 2: had fumbling problems last year.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I'll wait in on this one first. I'd love to
- 30:51Speaker 3: go and take the long tails on Henderson because he's
- 30:53Speaker 3: the more dynamic back and like you should have like
- 30:56Speaker 3: a come to Jesus moment, like, yeah, he's he's more dynamic.
- 31:01Speaker 3: We need him for our offense. The problem though, you
- 31:05Speaker 3: hit on it. The coach loves the big, bruising back.
- 31:09Speaker 3: So like as far as touchdowns, if that's the way
- 31:12Speaker 3: you want to play it, I think he's gonna want
- 31:15Speaker 3: Romanje Stevenson on a goal on yards.
- 31:18Speaker 6: What's what's the split going to be?
- 31:20Speaker 3: Brandon sixty forty sixty five thirty five said.
- 31:26Speaker 1: The recent report is that it's going to be fifty
- 31:28Speaker 1: to fifty. I think that if you're looking at this
- 31:30Speaker 1: from a fantasy lens, that's actually positive for Travion Henderson
- 31:34Speaker 1: because you laid it out at the goal one. Who
- 31:38Speaker 1: do you want? If you're Mike Rabel, I'll take Stevenson,
- 31:40Speaker 1: the big boy, bigger body, less likely to fumble. Okay,
- 31:44Speaker 1: now it's third and seven, I might need to dump
- 31:46Speaker 1: the ball off to a running back. I definitely need
- 31:48Speaker 1: one in pass pro. I want Stevenson. Okay, So those
- 31:51Speaker 1: are two pivotal, fantasy friendly stat friendly situations that lean
- 31:56Speaker 1: the way of Ramondre Stevenson. For Travion Henderson, it's going
- 31:59Speaker 1: to be a little bit like last year where it's
- 32:01Speaker 1: a big player bust uh and he's going to work
- 32:03Speaker 1: himself out of the doghouse. But we can only that
- 32:05Speaker 1: hasn't happened yet, and in the playoffs he got even
- 32:08Speaker 1: worse and then he actually spent time in the doghouse.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I think he had like four touches in two weeks
- 32:14Speaker 1: of the play the playoffs last year. So it should
- 32:16Speaker 1: be Stevenson's backfield in key situations. But I think between
- 32:20Speaker 1: the twenties, you want you want Trevon Henderson touching the
- 32:23Speaker 1: ball because he's got that home run potential.
- 32:25Speaker 2: I have actually one more question here. How much do
- 32:29Speaker 2: we think Christian gonzalez His deal affects what's going on here?
- 32:35Speaker 2: Because there's two camps right now. There's one where people
- 32:38Speaker 2: are pointing towards the Patriots and them not willing to
- 32:42Speaker 2: be giving Christian Gonzalez what he wants because allegedly he
- 32:45Speaker 2: might be asking for something that's too insane. Or do
- 32:48Speaker 2: we think that Witherspoon's deal really kind of set the
- 32:51Speaker 2: table here, you're going to make a million or two
- 32:53Speaker 2: more than him, and we're going to move on from it.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Do we think that he's really maybe because listen, I
- 32:59Speaker 2: think he's a little bit of a diva. He's not
- 33:01Speaker 2: my type of player. I think that if I'm going
- 33:03Speaker 2: to have a Deva on my team, it's going to
- 33:04Speaker 2: be a wide receiver, which is why I'm fine with
- 33:06Speaker 2: the antics of aj Brown if I'm a Patriots fan.
- 33:09Speaker 2: But do we think that if he really is in
- 33:11Speaker 2: the camp of wanting something unrealistic here and he plays
- 33:14Speaker 2: the rest of this deal out, which I think he's
- 33:16Speaker 2: set to make like two or three million dollars, if
- 33:18Speaker 2: he doesn't have a new deal on the table before
- 33:21Speaker 2: the season starts, do we think that that affects how
- 33:24Speaker 2: hard he plays through this season.
- 33:27Speaker 3: I'd be more concerned about what kind of shape he's
- 33:29Speaker 3: going to be in. That, to me, is always the
- 33:32Speaker 3: concern with these guys who are doing these holdings. They're
- 33:35Speaker 3: not going through the normal routine of a training camp
- 33:38Speaker 3: and getting ready for the start of the year.
- 33:41Speaker 6: That would be my work.
- 33:41Speaker 2: He's injury prone anyway, you know what I mean.
- 33:44Speaker 3: He's going to be out there. They're eventually going to
- 33:46Speaker 3: figure this out. He's too important to their team. But
- 33:49Speaker 3: we've seen a lot of cases with these guys. They're
- 33:52Speaker 3: falling around with contract, then all of a sudden they
- 33:54Speaker 3: come to camp laid, they get it done late, tweaked hand.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Caleb love Groin.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Also, it's a crap, so be careful that with Gonzales.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed, and I do think he's gonna get paid.
- 34:09Speaker 1: This is Bjon Robinson, Jamier Gibbs all over again, just
- 34:12Speaker 1: at a different position. All right, let's go best case scenario.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I think we would agree. This is a super Bowl team.
- 34:17Speaker 1: They were there last year, So they're sixteen to one
- 34:20Speaker 1: to win the super Bowl plus seven sixty to win
- 34:23Speaker 1: the AFC. So the odds maker is basically telling you
- 34:26Speaker 1: they might get there, they're not winning, and the best
- 34:30Speaker 1: way to bet them, I mean, based on our conversation,
- 34:32Speaker 1: it sounds like under nothing, under ten and a half wins.
- 34:35Speaker 1: I would actually take that a step further, guys, I
- 34:37Speaker 1: would go I would sell a game under nine and
- 34:39Speaker 1: a half plus one twenty five. John, what about you?
- 34:41Speaker 6: Ah, you're gonna sell it?
- 34:42Speaker 3: I mean, I don't love this, but I'd go miss
- 34:45Speaker 3: the playoffs. I would just follow the trends of Super
- 34:47Speaker 3: Bowl losers and the hangover that is real and spectacular. Again,
- 34:52Speaker 3: Patriots are better team on paper, but there's some elements
- 34:55Speaker 3: you don't like.
- 34:56Speaker 6: I'll say miss the playoffs.
- 34:58Speaker 1: I think it was.
- 35:01Speaker 2: You know my pod bet Kravitz. I'm riding the Drake
- 35:03Speaker 2: May over five and a half rushing touchdowns into the ground.
- 35:07Speaker 2: I uh a lot you want to get in our
- 35:10Speaker 2: pod bet.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we got them three and a half. I got
- 35:13Speaker 1: them three and a half.
- 35:14Speaker 2: But yeah, but the number was better at five and
- 35:17Speaker 2: a half.
- 35:17Speaker 1: So that's trying to get that. She's trying to get
- 35:19Speaker 1: that monster pace.
- 35:20Speaker 3: What's the plus money on that, Kendra?
- 35:22Speaker 2: I can tell you what I what it is right now.
- 35:24Speaker 2: One second, I have it. I have it in three
- 35:26Speaker 2: and a half. But five and a half was draftking,
- 35:28Speaker 2: so we put five and a half.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think three and a half was like minus
- 35:31Speaker 1: one oh five.
- 35:31Speaker 2: But that for you right now?
- 35:34Speaker 3: Who says they can't bet bof Yeah, you.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Can absolutely bet both. We're going, yeah, pod bet on
- 35:39Speaker 1: Drake May to just have a bunch of rushing touchdowns.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Let's move to the Jets. As Kendral looks that up.
- 35:44Speaker 1: The more I stare at this depth chart, the more
- 35:47Speaker 1: intrigued I get, and John, I'm gonna need you to
- 35:49Speaker 1: talk me off of this, because please please, they have
- 35:53Speaker 1: so much talent on both sides of the ball. They
- 35:55Speaker 1: got older and wiser defensively. They added some youth with
- 35:58Speaker 1: David Bailey, number two pick in draft. Really liked him
- 36:01Speaker 1: at Texas Tech. I think Aaron Glenn still knows how
- 36:03Speaker 1: to coach defense. They got a major No, I'm not,
- 36:08Speaker 1: but I think. I mean he was damn good in Detroit.
- 36:12Speaker 1: That's all he gives me is at least the defense
- 36:14Speaker 1: is right. Then we were starting somewhere with having this
- 36:18Speaker 1: team exceed expectations. And this is the thing that is undeniable.
- 36:22Speaker 1: They have major interception regression coming their way in a
- 36:26Speaker 1: positive way. They had zero in twenty twenty five. I
- 36:29Speaker 1: don't remember that happening in my lifetime. So they're going
- 36:32Speaker 1: to get more interceptions that they should improve defensively with
- 36:37Speaker 1: the pieces that they brought in. They went heavy in
- 36:40Speaker 1: terms of acquisitions. Minka Fitzpatrick, Joseph aside to Mario Davis,
- 36:45Speaker 1: had one hundred and forty three tackles last year at
- 36:47Speaker 1: thirty seven years old to and Andre Sweat on the
- 36:50Speaker 1: defensive line. David an Yamada from Atlanta. I really like
- 36:54Speaker 1: this team and what they've built. I don't know if
- 36:57Speaker 1: the some of the parts is going to be as
- 36:59Speaker 1: good as the parts. This might be more of a
- 37:01Speaker 1: Madden team than it is a real life team. But
- 37:04Speaker 1: the more I look at the Jets, the more intrigued
- 37:05Speaker 1: I get, especially for a team who's over under is
- 37:08Speaker 1: a very palatable five and a half.
- 37:10Speaker 3: I can't get there. And you make some very valid
- 37:13Speaker 3: points about the improvements within the roster.
- 37:16Speaker 6: Totally fair, totally justified.
- 37:18Speaker 3: I love. This is where I'll lay out the Jets.
- 37:21Speaker 3: I think the offensive line is going to be good.
- 37:23Speaker 3: I think it's going to be good, not great. Good
- 37:26Speaker 3: in theory. You see Brice Hall at running back. You
- 37:28Speaker 3: see Garrel Wilson wide receiver.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Is he going to be a running back? That's my question.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Yeah, he hurt his groin. He'll be there a week one.
- 37:35Speaker 3: He'll be their week one. But like I detail all
- 37:38Speaker 3: of this, Kendri, because there are elements of the team
- 37:42Speaker 3: that are intriguing. But then I look at the head coach.
- 37:46Speaker 3: The Jets were as poorly coached as any team that
- 37:49Speaker 3: I have ever seen. They basically looked like a UFL
- 37:53Speaker 3: football team over the final five to six weeks of
- 37:56Speaker 3: the year, to the point where they were down twenty
- 37:59Speaker 3: one thing before you could even start your Sunday for
- 38:03Speaker 3: like five or six consecutive weeks. We saw it in
- 38:06Speaker 3: a game against the Miami Dolphins. We saw it in
- 38:08Speaker 3: a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Then they took on
- 38:10Speaker 3: the Patriots and the Bills, and you know what happened there.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I think Aaron Glenn is so over his head and
- 38:17Speaker 3: is so incompetent as a head coach. There's no salvaging
- 38:21Speaker 3: this from a Jets standpoint, and Brandon, here's the team
- 38:24Speaker 3: to watch. If they can't beat Robert Sala and the
- 38:28Speaker 3: Tennessee Titans in Week one, the next three games for
- 38:32Speaker 3: them are against all teams within the A in the
- 38:34Speaker 3: NFC North. It's Packers, it's Lions, it's Bears, Buckets.
- 38:41Speaker 6: If the Jets you like that, you like that.
- 38:43Speaker 3: If the Jets lose Week one to the Titans, they
- 38:46Speaker 3: are starting the season zero to four.
- 38:48Speaker 6: It is same old Jets.
- 38:50Speaker 3: There's a chance that that Brown game in Week five,
- 38:53Speaker 3: Aaron Glenn is coaching for his job, and I haven't
- 38:56Speaker 3: even mentioned the fact that Gino Smith likes strowing the
- 39:00Speaker 3: ball to the other team quite a bit. I think
- 39:02Speaker 3: he'll be marginally better than what he was with the
- 39:05Speaker 3: Raiders because the offensive line.
- 39:07Speaker 6: Was non competitive with the Raiders. But I also think
- 39:10Speaker 6: Gino Smith is totally.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Washed and is totally shot, so I can't get there
- 39:15Speaker 3: with the Jets. Show me prove it. I also think
- 39:19Speaker 3: they want to be in the quarterback business next year.
- 39:22Speaker 3: When it comes to drafting someone with three first round picks,
- 39:26Speaker 3: I can't see this team getting six to seven wins
- 39:28Speaker 3: under no circumstance. So you guys want to plant the flag,
- 39:31Speaker 3: I'll give you a plant the flag. This team is
- 39:33Speaker 3: going under and they're gonna have a chance to have
- 39:36Speaker 3: the worst record in the league.
- 39:37Speaker 1: A chance.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Oh that's tough.
- 39:39Speaker 6: Okay.
- 39:40Speaker 2: By the way, Drake May three and a half. The
- 39:42Speaker 2: over is minus one ten on draftings.
- 39:46Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 39:47Speaker 2: I've got five and a half and the three and
- 39:49Speaker 2: a half already logged in. You're tracking on action, so
- 39:52Speaker 2: I am balls deep in this bed. However, I really
- 39:56Speaker 2: think that the Jets are going to be better than
- 39:58Speaker 2: people think. But this is a no touch team for me.
- 40:02Speaker 2: I want to fall in love with them. I just
- 40:04Speaker 2: it's the quarterback that's keeping me away. And I think
- 40:07Speaker 2: that it's one of these teams where if we see
- 40:09Speaker 2: them fall into you know, a top three pick, and really,
- 40:14Speaker 2: the quarterbacks next year, I think are going to here's
- 40:17Speaker 2: my concern for next year. We see time and time
- 40:19Speaker 2: again where these quarterback classes that are supposed to be
- 40:23Speaker 2: the second coming of.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Jesus Christ because your last year.
- 40:27Speaker 6: Everybody said it last year and.
- 40:30Speaker 2: People were like, the quarterbacks suck. And I'm not the
- 40:32Speaker 2: person to overreact to the preseason, but they've all looked
- 40:35Speaker 2: really fucking good.
- 40:37Speaker 3: So I know you that much.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Mendoza looked good, Carson Beck looked good, Drew Allers looked good.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Like this this class so far has looked good, and
- 40:47Speaker 2: so I just it's hard for me to get married
- 40:50Speaker 2: to the hype of it. I don't think Gino Smith
- 40:52Speaker 2: is going to be good. But at the same time,
- 40:54Speaker 2: I want to fall in love with this team. But
- 40:56Speaker 2: he's the reason that I'm staying far away.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Seventeen interceptions last year led the NFL. Maybe they turned
- 41:04Speaker 1: to Kid Klubnick. He was also part of this quarterback
- 41:07Speaker 1: class who knows have fun with that?
- 41:10Speaker 3: And can I throw this in with the Jets new
- 41:13Speaker 3: defensive coordinator?
- 41:15Speaker 6: No idea.
- 41:15Speaker 3: When do you see a head coach that goes three
- 41:17Speaker 3: and fourteen get the opportunity to stay and bringing a
- 41:22Speaker 3: new offensive coordinator and bringing a new defensive coordinator. And
- 41:26Speaker 3: I haven't mentioned that Frank Reich like didn't exactly wow
- 41:30Speaker 3: you in his last stint with the Carolina Panthers.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Now exactly I got it.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, in twenty twenty six, I'm thrilled that
- 41:37Speaker 3: Frank Reich is running my offense. I just think this
- 41:42Speaker 3: coaching staff is brutal. I think the Jets are set
- 41:44Speaker 3: up that, like, come next year, they can draft a quarterback.
- 41:47Speaker 3: There are a lot of pieces around the quarterback, and
- 41:50Speaker 3: all of a sudden, it's an intriguing possibility.
- 41:52Speaker 6: Like I think next year or first year head.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Coach could come in there and win like seven or
- 41:56Speaker 3: eight games and it's like, wow, they really improved. I
- 41:59Speaker 3: just think with this coaching staff it's beyond repair.
- 42:01Speaker 1: They don't have her, they don't have an identity. That's
- 42:03Speaker 1: my issue with them. I don't know what the Jets.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Are, you know, is this a safe space. Of course,
- 42:08Speaker 2: I threw down a little bit of money on there
- 42:12Speaker 2: over after the draft because I was so in love
- 42:15Speaker 2: with Kenyon City and.
- 42:17Speaker 6: I want to see him play. He's not quit at
- 42:20Speaker 6: all during camp. He's I don't think.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I was so excited to watch him in the preseason.
- 42:25Speaker 2: But yeah, literally, I didn't buy out of it. But
- 42:29Speaker 2: if I'm giving anybody advice, don't do what I did.
- 42:32Speaker 3: You got stuck it in. It happens, It's okay, it.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Does, and you know what, maybe all look like a
- 42:36Speaker 2: fucking genius at the end of the year.
- 42:38Speaker 1: We shall five and a half. Very palatable, I think
- 42:40Speaker 1: another way if you want.
- 42:41Speaker 2: To go so there's Elphins twice.
- 42:44Speaker 1: There's three bad teams in the AFC that I'm looking at.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Somebody's cracking into the playoffs. This I would like to
- 42:50Speaker 1: remind everybody that what you think is obvious going into
- 42:54Speaker 1: the season never plays itself out. Sure someone is going
- 42:57Speaker 1: to crack the postseason. It's more likely to happen in
- 43:01Speaker 1: terms of the out of nowhere in the AFC than
- 43:04Speaker 1: it is in the NFC because of the difficulty of
- 43:06Speaker 1: the NFC West. In the NFC North, I think it
- 43:08Speaker 1: becomes a lot more predictable in that conference. So there's
- 43:12Speaker 1: three teams that would shock the world that I am
- 43:17Speaker 1: willing to bet to make into the playoffs. I've done two.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I've placed two of these ends and the Jets would
- 43:23Speaker 1: be the third one.
- 43:24Speaker 6: But hold on it.
- 43:25Speaker 3: I would highly advise you not to take the Jets.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I haven't done it. I haven't done it, but I'm
- 43:31Speaker 1: just I don't think I want to put money on
- 43:33Speaker 1: all three. It's the Raiders and the Titans are the
- 43:35Speaker 1: two teams I have bet to make the postseason.
- 43:38Speaker 2: And if I can't for religious purposes, but it's the Titans.
- 43:41Speaker 6: I totally agree.
- 43:42Speaker 3: If I don't rank them, it would be Titans, Raiders,
- 43:45Speaker 3: Jets in that order.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Those are the three teams are kind of scary.
- 43:50Speaker 1: When you look at bad teams that no one is
- 43:53Speaker 1: taking seriously going into the season, that would we would
- 43:56Speaker 1: look and go, God, could you believe this teammate the
- 43:58Speaker 1: fucking playoffs this year? Those are the three that have
- 44:01Speaker 1: enough talent to do it, that have the coaching maybe
- 44:04Speaker 1: not on the Jets to do it. I love Koobyyak,
- 44:08Speaker 1: I love Robert Sala, So there's more belief than the
- 44:10Speaker 1: other two.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Love love Robert Sala.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I do. I think I love Robert I think Robert
- 44:19Speaker 1: Sala what he he made me mild chicken salad out
- 44:23Speaker 1: of chicken shit with with Zach Wilson at quarterback, he
- 44:26Speaker 1: dealt with an awful situation. I thought he handled it
- 44:30Speaker 1: pretty well, but he thought he got a bad shake.
- 44:32Speaker 6: He also was a.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Bad coach with the Jets. I think he can be
- 44:34Speaker 3: better a second time around. I think he can warn
- 44:36Speaker 3: from his mistakes.
- 44:37Speaker 1: I mean Dave Ball, as in OC, Dave Ball is
- 44:39Speaker 1: much better in the offensive coordinator.
- 44:41Speaker 6: Well, Gang, I'll tell you it is.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Robert Sala basically looks like Vince Lombardi compared to Aaron
- 44:46Speaker 3: g One.
- 44:46Speaker 6: I'll give you that.
- 44:47Speaker 2: It's bald magic, all right.
- 44:51Speaker 1: So then let's put our money where our mouth is here.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Best way to bet the Jets, I actually so. I
- 44:58Speaker 1: would say that if you're interested in the wild card
- 45:00Speaker 1: bet just bet them to make the wild card. They're
- 45:02Speaker 1: not winning the division. That would be eight to one.
- 45:04Speaker 1: That's not my best way to bet them. You can
- 45:07Speaker 1: bet them on DraftKings to finish third in the division.
- 45:13Speaker 1: That's the best way to bet the New York.
- 45:15Speaker 6: I don't know if I do that. I don't know
- 45:17Speaker 6: if I do that.
- 45:18Speaker 2: You think the Dolphins are better than the.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Jets roster wise, No, I like their quarterback a lot more.
- 45:24Speaker 3: I'm more on the Malik Willis upward trajectory train than
- 45:29Speaker 3: I am the Geno Smith. I am past my prime train.
- 45:33Speaker 3: And I don't know what Jeff Haffleys we'll get to
- 45:35Speaker 3: the Dolphins. I have no idea what he's gonna be.
- 45:37Speaker 3: He's a head coach. I know what Aaron Lennon is
- 45:39Speaker 3: the head coach. He's atrocious. I'll bet on the uncertainty.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I think it's probably five to four wins, four three wins.
- 45:48Speaker 3: They're both going to suck.
- 45:50Speaker 6: Okay, they're both going to suck.
- 45:53Speaker 3: I'll say that the Dolphins maybe buy smith of a
- 45:55Speaker 3: little bit better than the Jets.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Jets are even money to finish third in the division.
- 45:59Speaker 1: There's another way.
- 46:00Speaker 3: I'm surprised they're not favored, to be honest.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I it's such an off. It's such an off
- 46:09Speaker 1: the beaten path market. It's a really really you can
- 46:13Speaker 1: bet them plus one thirty to have more wins than
- 46:15Speaker 1: the Browns. I would be interested in that too, as
- 46:18Speaker 1: a plus.
- 46:20Speaker 3: I wanted to talk myself into the Browns, and then
- 46:22Speaker 3: I realized that Sean Watson and should Door Sanders are
- 46:24Speaker 3: their quarterbacks, and I said, I can't do this.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I already did, but this is the only way to
- 46:28Speaker 1: bet that. You gotta get creative if you're gonna bet
- 46:31Speaker 1: the Jets. Kendra, you you like they're over sort of,
- 46:34Speaker 1: I think, and ar least Kenyan Sadik overs on touchdowns.
- 46:39Speaker 1: What about you, Johnny, You you've planned that, You've planted
- 46:42Speaker 1: the flag.
- 46:42Speaker 3: On the under under big and I'll take a step forward,
- 46:45Speaker 3: take it a step forward. I don't think they're gonna
- 46:49Speaker 3: end up with the worst record in the league, but
- 46:51Speaker 3: I'm going to go and bet them to do it
- 46:52Speaker 3: because the number is really really good and it's the Jets.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Let's move to the Dolphins. Here's all you need to
- 46:59Speaker 1: know about Miami, our Miami Dolphins. John The top five
- 47:03Speaker 1: players on the Dolphins salary cap this year, none of
- 47:07Speaker 1: them are on the team.
- 47:08Speaker 3: I was gonna say, guest Tua, Tyreek, Bradley Shubb.
- 47:13Speaker 1: You got it.
- 47:15Speaker 6: Jalen Waddell, no oh, because he has a team friendly contract.
- 47:20Speaker 1: There's a Jalen in there, though.
- 47:22Speaker 3: Ramsey, Yes, Okay, I need one more for you, Mika Fitzpatrick.
- 47:27Speaker 6: You got it.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Those are the top five, top five well done, top
- 47:30Speaker 1: five paid players on the Miami Dolphins. They have one
- 47:33Speaker 1: hundred and seventy nine million dollars in dead money this year.
- 47:36Speaker 1: The next closest is Cleveland. The fact that they're ahead
- 47:39Speaker 1: of Cleveland who signed that god awful Deshaun Watson contract,
- 47:43Speaker 1: and they're sixty three million dollars ahead of the Cleveland
- 47:47Speaker 1: Browns in certain.
- 47:48Speaker 2: In terms of deadmark fran Balky's bitch ass. But here
- 47:50Speaker 2: we are.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I mean, if you're talking, if you want even more
- 47:53Speaker 1: financial depression, the Seattle Seahawks have five hundred and ninety
- 47:57Speaker 1: six thousand dollars in dead cap. That's like a middle
- 48:00Speaker 1: class house, and the Dolphins are at one hundred and
- 48:03Speaker 1: seventy nine million. It would be. And so the translation
- 48:06Speaker 1: here for those that don't get into the weeds of
- 48:08Speaker 1: the money, for this seem to be good, it would
- 48:11Speaker 1: take a minor miracle. Do you believe in miracles? John, No,
- 48:16Speaker 1: I don't.
- 48:17Speaker 3: But here's how I'd phrase the Miami Dolphins this season.
- 48:20Speaker 3: I think they're gonna be a very.
- 48:22Speaker 6: Frisky bad team.
- 48:24Speaker 3: What do I mean by that. I think they're gonna
- 48:26Speaker 3: cover a lot of spreads. I think Malik Willis is
- 48:29Speaker 3: gonna be fun to watch, but they're gonna be awful. Like.
- 48:34Speaker 3: I think they'll play hard.
- 48:35Speaker 6: I think they'll play for the head coach.
- 48:36Speaker 3: I think they'll buy any like the team camaraderie type deal.
- 48:41Speaker 3: They're gonna stink. There's no way in the world I'm
- 48:44Speaker 3: going to play any old overs. There's no way in
- 48:46Speaker 3: the world you're gonna tell me how the Dolphins are
- 48:48Speaker 3: gonna go and shock the world.
- 48:51Speaker 6: I think the unders seems a little too obvious though.
- 48:53Speaker 3: That's my concern from jump Street because like when you
- 48:56Speaker 3: just line up and bet the under immediately, yeah.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I agree with that. The logic of betting points you
- 49:02Speaker 1: to the over. But that's about the only way I
- 49:05Speaker 1: can get there. Because football, folks, let me break down
- 49:08Speaker 1: football for you. Sit down, Grandpa's talking. Okay, you want
- 49:12Speaker 1: to score points, score more than your opposition, and you
- 49:16Speaker 1: got to stop the other team from scoring. Okay, the
- 49:19Speaker 1: Miami Dolphins might score points this year, they are definitely
- 49:25Speaker 1: not stopping anybody from scoring. Have you looked at this
- 49:28Speaker 1: secondary There's no ways.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Digusting to be fair. Though a year ago, Secondary wasn't
- 49:36Speaker 3: very good. I guess you would make a Fitzpatrick there,
- 49:39Speaker 3: and you had. They brought a Russell Douglas who actually
- 49:41Speaker 3: was okay for them as a veteran Cornery ended up
- 49:44Speaker 3: in Washington.
- 49:44Speaker 6: I believe Secondary is the worst in the league, the.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Worst team in the league.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Can we be clear, yes, talent, yes, yes, twent wise yes,
- 49:55Speaker 3: but we'll finish with the worst record. No.
- 49:57Speaker 2: I think so I this team.
- 50:00Speaker 6: And you got to just bet at that at that point, like, yeah.
- 50:02Speaker 2: This team is hot, fucking garbage talking. I know that
- 50:05Speaker 2: there are a lot of people that think that Malik
- 50:08Speaker 2: Willis is going to be actually like a quarterback for them.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I think six weeks into this season, we are going
- 50:12Speaker 2: to be having the conversation of them being in the
- 50:14Speaker 2: quarterback market.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Well, I mean, if they finished with the worst record
- 50:17Speaker 3: in the league, Kendra, it's a very easy convo, Like
- 50:20Speaker 3: I think quarterback.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I listen. As someone who watched Malik Willis play at
- 50:24Speaker 2: Auburn University, I can tell you he is ass and
- 50:27Speaker 2: not the cool kind of ass.
- 50:29Speaker 3: So like, I think he's gotten a lot better though,
- 50:31Speaker 3: because you're right, like in college.
- 50:33Speaker 6: Didn't like him in his first stint in Tennessee. He
- 50:37Speaker 6: looked inept.
- 50:39Speaker 2: I think he was just in a favorable situation.
- 50:42Speaker 3: But I think something quick for him. Sometimes it takes
- 50:45Speaker 3: like a couple of stops. These quarterbacks are so young.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Just to even watching them in the first drive of
- 50:51Speaker 3: the preseason, which is again preseason football, you don't want
- 50:53Speaker 3: to get nuts.
- 50:54Speaker 6: He didn't throw a ball like that.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Mike very wily even want him to throw the ball.
- 50:58Speaker 6: Guys when he was with Denis.
- 51:00Speaker 3: He played that game on something night, they were like
- 51:01Speaker 3: afraid that he's throwing.
- 51:03Speaker 2: A little bit more confidence about leak is twenty seven
- 51:06Speaker 2: years old.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Again, it takes some time to click, does it not.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins are kurting Kirk Cousins. Kurt Warner was bagging
- 51:14Speaker 1: groceries in his thirties. Everybody's on a different timeline.
- 51:18Speaker 3: We'll get Sam Donold.
- 51:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but he had KOC I did understand that.
- 51:22Speaker 3: But lake Willis just went four and thrive. I'm not
- 51:25Speaker 3: saying he's going to have the same success. Okay, I
- 51:27Speaker 3: want to make this quick.
- 51:28Speaker 2: I don't want to think that Jordan Love sucks. But
- 51:30Speaker 2: here we are.
- 51:31Speaker 6: Wow, you're not all the stacked geeks. Love Jordan Love.
- 51:34Speaker 3: You know that he's been new Herbert like, they need
- 51:38Speaker 3: they need a new they need a new fling.
- 51:40Speaker 2: You know, I want to shove the stack geeks and
- 51:41Speaker 2: a locker.
- 51:42Speaker 3: I like that ketch of this love more than Herbert.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Sorry, Evan speaking of the stack geeks. Yeah, Evan Abrams
- 51:50Speaker 1: definitely is our is our chief of staff. Gek stack
- 51:52Speaker 1: giks here at Action Network. Uh the uh the number
- 51:56Speaker 1: one quarterback last year in terms of grading at Pro
- 51:59Speaker 1: football folks, anybody want to take a stab at I've
- 52:02Speaker 1: mentioned this on the podcast before. Who number one was
- 52:04Speaker 1: in the NFL?
- 52:06Speaker 6: Can I take again?
- 52:06Speaker 1: Go ahead? John willis number one in the NFL, number
- 52:10Speaker 1: one graded quarterback. Now, he doesn't meet the minimum requirement
- 52:13Speaker 1: based on attempts last year, but if you were to
- 52:15Speaker 1: erase that, he was number one in the NFL, better
- 52:18Speaker 1: than Josh Allen, better than Drake May, better than Jordan Love,
- 52:22Speaker 1: better than everybody's favorite, justin Herbert.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Everybody's favorite. Don't you put that evil on me? Yeah?
- 52:29Speaker 1: Sure, you didn't have him in your top twenty. The
- 52:32Speaker 1: tough part for me with Miami is projecting where the
- 52:35Speaker 1: success comes from. Talent wise, on paper, there at the
- 52:38Speaker 1: bottom of the division in just about every category. But
- 52:41Speaker 1: there is if I can spin it positive, if you
- 52:45Speaker 1: are to get to the window on the over I
- 52:47Speaker 1: think it's because of the unknown. There is a little
- 52:51Speaker 1: bit of a mystery box feel with them. It's a mystery.
- 52:56Speaker 1: It's like one of those goodie bags you got as
- 52:58Speaker 1: a kid when you left the already and you're excited
- 53:01Speaker 1: because it's a surprise. Now, they might end up having
- 53:04Speaker 1: just like a cheap kazoo and a Tutsi roll in there.
- 53:06Speaker 1: But there is at least a chance that we don't
- 53:08Speaker 1: know how good this team is.
- 53:11Speaker 2: We had a psychic gone and she told us the Dolphins,
- 53:13Speaker 2: We're gonna win the Super Bowl.
- 53:15Speaker 6: Wow.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Police, And I'm gonna I'm gonna hit the lottery, and
- 53:20Speaker 3: I'm gonna get invited to Karl Anthony Time's wedding and
- 53:22Speaker 3: be seated next to Justin Bieber and Helly Bieber. I
- 53:24Speaker 3: mean sure.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Unfortunately she did not mention that. So upside, what is
- 53:30Speaker 1: the upside best case scenario for the Dolphins down.
- 53:36Speaker 3: No, Malik Willis looks like a real quarterback.
- 53:39Speaker 1: And they don't need to draft one. But yet they
- 53:41Speaker 1: still have a bad enough draft pick to get Jeremiah
- 53:43Speaker 1: Smith out of Ohio State. That's the best case scenario.
- 53:46Speaker 3: And you know what's what's tough with this gang?
- 53:49Speaker 6: How do you determine that?
- 53:50Speaker 3: Like, it's not a wins losses type deal. I think
- 53:54Speaker 3: it's like I test, you know what I mean. You know,
- 53:58Speaker 3: like you're watching them play and you're like, dude, this
- 54:00Speaker 3: guy is putting up numbers. This guy is performing. If
- 54:04Speaker 3: we get more around him.
- 54:05Speaker 6: We we can do this. I think that's their best
- 54:09Speaker 6: case scenario.
- 54:10Speaker 1: If they lose thirty to twenty seven every week, they're
- 54:15Speaker 1: still losing, but you're putting up points, believe in the offense,
- 54:18Speaker 1: and again there's a path.
- 54:19Speaker 3: I don't think there's a worst case scenario with this
- 54:21Speaker 3: team because if they stink and end up with the
- 54:23Speaker 3: first pick in the draft, what's what's wrong with that?
- 54:26Speaker 1: Yeah? What a great year to be a Dolphins fan.
- 54:28Speaker 1: If they go oh in seventeen? Who cares?
- 54:30Speaker 2: Okay, best way would you'd rather? Would you rather the
- 54:34Speaker 2: Dolphins be like a six win team or go oh
- 54:39Speaker 2: in seventeen?
- 54:40Speaker 1: I'd rather than be a six win team because then
- 54:43Speaker 1: they have their quarterback. There's no way they win six
- 54:45Speaker 1: games and don't have a quarterback, and that I'd rather
- 54:48Speaker 1: know that he's already on the roster than take a
- 54:50Speaker 1: chance with a rookie.
- 54:51Speaker 3: I'm in the same boat, Kendras. Somebody roos from of
- 54:53Speaker 3: Miami Dolphins. I'm in the exact same boat. They try
- 54:57Speaker 3: to pull off the tank in twenty twenty and they
- 55:02Speaker 3: won five games. That's why, like I get very very
- 55:05Speaker 3: hesitant in saying, oh, like the twenty ninth Brennan, Is
- 55:09Speaker 3: this team worse than the twenty nineteen Dolphins?
- 55:11Speaker 1: I say, no, way, probably not. But I go back
- 55:16Speaker 1: to the mystery. I really don't think we know how
- 55:18Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think we can accurately judge. Like
- 55:21Speaker 1: you can look at some teams in the NFL, good teams,
- 55:23Speaker 1: bad teams, and you know exactly what they are. I
- 55:26Speaker 1: really don't know what this Dolphins team is. We'll find
- 55:30Speaker 1: out a month into the season. But there's so much
- 55:32Speaker 1: mystery on this team.
- 55:34Speaker 2: So much you guys are crazy.
- 55:36Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't say it was good mystery. I
- 55:38Speaker 1: just think it's like Caden Procter. You said, Caden Proctor.
- 55:41Speaker 1: They draft him twelve overall round pick. The guy's the
- 55:44Speaker 1: size of a house, but he might suck. You know,
- 55:47Speaker 1: he had some rough moments at Alabama, So I don't know.
- 55:50Speaker 1: I just I don't know what this is. The wide receivers,
- 55:52Speaker 1: Jalen Tolbert might be their number one wide receiver to to.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Out Well would move into that spot first.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I know, having any come on, you gotta
- 56:01Speaker 3: be sipping at Caleb Douglas.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I I do like Cale Douglas.
- 56:03Speaker 3: Do we have numbers on him yet or are they
- 56:05Speaker 3: not like releasing them? The books are very very nervous
- 56:08Speaker 3: on this. They don't want to take a beating.
- 56:10Speaker 1: As they should be. The best way to bet them
- 56:12Speaker 1: for me would be plus three and a half Week
- 56:14Speaker 1: one against the Raiders. With the mystery that I've talked
- 56:16Speaker 1: about here, there's a chance that the odds makers are
- 56:19Speaker 1: just way off on this team, not from a win
- 56:21Speaker 1: total perspective, but as John mentioned, they could be some
- 56:25Speaker 1: spread covering bastards throughout the season. I think it's gonna
- 56:27Speaker 1: be really tough to game plan for a team like
- 56:29Speaker 1: this because I don't think anybody knows. So you're also
- 56:33Speaker 1: fading a first year head coach as a favorite. I
- 56:35Speaker 1: will probably bring this up on our Week one episode. Kendra,
- 56:37Speaker 1: Thank you to Evan Abrams year one head coaches as
- 56:42Speaker 1: a favorite debut in the NFL three and five ats
- 56:46Speaker 1: since twenty twenty.
- 56:49Speaker 6: I like that.
- 56:49Speaker 3: I'll take a step further. Dolphins beat the Raiders in
- 56:51Speaker 3: Week one, they might want to like three or four
- 56:53Speaker 3: games all year.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Yeah, we go.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Get off the block of the Duba, the big on DraftKings.
- 57:01Speaker 2: It's going to be all over the Raiders week won
- 57:03Speaker 2: the same money them against the Patriots last year.
- 57:08Speaker 3: That was a good bet last year. I had that,
- 57:10Speaker 3: Thank you, I'll tell you, I'll take your money.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Though I got bullied to death about that at work.
- 57:15Speaker 2: And when they won, I took a victory lap, like
- 57:17Speaker 2: you want to believe I believe it.
- 57:19Speaker 1: I believe it. Let's three way bet it and then
- 57:21Speaker 1: if they tie, I take both of your money.
- 57:24Speaker 2: I think you guys are fucking crazy, all.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Right, So what's your best? How do you? How are
- 57:28Speaker 1: you betting them? Kenda?
- 57:31Speaker 2: I'm not, I literally I am.
- 57:34Speaker 3: I'm not worst record in the league though, you know, Yeah.
- 57:37Speaker 2: That's that's literally. I think that that's where I would go.
- 57:40Speaker 2: I do not believe in Malik Willis at all.
- 57:42Speaker 3: You're Anna Willis? So what today like three to want
- 57:44Speaker 3: to have the worst record in the league. You have
- 57:46Speaker 3: much like you had to bet Buffalo to miss the playoffs.
- 57:49Speaker 3: I feel like with these very and I love a
- 57:52Speaker 3: strong take. When we get one, I feel like you
- 57:54Speaker 3: gotta put your money in your mouth.
- 57:55Speaker 6: Is like, that's it.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Dolphins worst record of league.
- 57:57Speaker 2: The number of futures that I have already logged absurd.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I love it. We gotta gotta.
- 58:04Speaker 2: I'm a futures I'm a futurest gal.
- 58:06Speaker 1: We've been and we've been you know, we've been previewing
- 58:08Speaker 1: this stuff since like early May, so they've sort of
- 58:13Speaker 1: my futures portfolio Kendricks as well. Sort of. It's just
- 58:16Speaker 1: sort of accumulated. It's like that crack that closet that
- 58:19Speaker 1: you have where you're like you open it one day
- 58:21Speaker 1: and you're like, how did all this ship get in here?
- 58:23Speaker 1: That's our futures.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Portfolio, Like baseballs and bats are like falling out on
- 58:27Speaker 2: top of my face.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Nice the golf clubs, the tennis rackets off under two
- 58:31Speaker 3: and a half wins Kendra plus.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Three ten I don't think I'm willing to go there.
- 58:35Speaker 2: I think there are three win team, the sweat three
- 58:38Speaker 2: win team. Malik Willis blows.
- 58:41Speaker 1: Let's plant the flag on the AFCs.
- 58:45Speaker 6: Shut up, I'm trying to plant my flag here.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Okay, you're really planning your flag and that thing. Maybe
- 58:50Speaker 1: it's something that you brought up already, John, What is
- 58:53Speaker 1: your favorite bet in the division?
- 58:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 58:57Speaker 6: What do I want to do?
- 58:57Speaker 1: What I want to do?
- 58:59Speaker 6: Jah the five and a half wints?
- 59:01Speaker 3: Aaron g One is the head coach, Geno Smith is
- 59:04Speaker 3: the quarterback, and I've said under five and a heaflints?
- 59:07Speaker 1: All right, I'll piggyback off of that. Jets to finish
- 59:09Speaker 1: third plus one hundred, which both of these could happen,
- 59:12Speaker 1: by the way.
- 59:13Speaker 6: Absolutely five and twelve.
- 59:14Speaker 3: There you go in our place.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Yeah, Dolphins win three games, Jets win five games, they'll
- 59:18Speaker 1: finish third in the division. I just I don't think
- 59:21Speaker 1: they're gonna be as bad as people think. I don't
- 59:23Speaker 1: know if the piece is mesh, but I at least
- 59:27Speaker 1: have the answer of are they better than the Dolphins? Yes?
- 59:29Speaker 1: Are they better than the Bills and the Patriots?
- 59:31Speaker 2: No?
- 59:31Speaker 1: That gets them to third based on my rudimentary math.
- 59:34Speaker 1: So I feel like I have to.
- 59:36Speaker 3: Bet eron one to be the first coach fired.
- 59:38Speaker 1: Too.
- 59:39Speaker 6: I feel like I have to do that.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Evan, do we have a market on that.
- 59:44Speaker 6: There's no way anybody could be ahead of him.
- 59:47Speaker 3: I don't see odds on it right now, but I
- 59:49Speaker 3: feel like there has to be a market.
- 59:50Speaker 1: That's something I'd look into.
- 59:53Speaker 2: I am married to my jets over unfortunately, because it
- 59:58Speaker 2: is tracking in the action app. So what is out
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: there and available for everyone? But outside of that, I
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: think that this is one of the divisions that I
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: want to avoid because I feel like this feels like
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: a family fistfight at a cookout. However, I do have
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: my Drake may rushing bets, but I also would like
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: to point to people looking at Dalton Kincaid over five
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: touchdowns plus one pin forty right now.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I like that kin Kaid's another one nobody mentions and
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: when they talk about they bitch about Josh Allen's lack
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: of weapons, like he just had one of the best
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: running backs in the NFL.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Two tight ends that eat down, like what are we
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: even doing here? Both of his tight ends are good
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: as fuck and they're glorified.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: Kinky's okay, Kinkaid's okay, It's okay.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Lens four to one to be the first coach fired.
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: That's that's this is this is how the closet.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: This is how the closet gets packed. Stuff like this.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Are you Dawstin knocks over Dalton Kincaid.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: I just think they're different. I feel like I've seen
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Kinkaid drop a lot of passes. It disappears at t
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: I love Dawson Ox. I love him as player, like
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: he's like the perfect number two that I tied end
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: to have on a team I didn't. The moral of
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: the story is.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Kendrick snick of Bill's fans.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Dude, you're talking to somebody whos a Miami Dolphin fan.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: You have to come on.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: You're the worst. They're the worst. I want to love
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: you guys, but you actually fucking suck.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: And I went to Syracuse too, so I had to
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: deal with all the Bills fans in my life, A
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: lot of them, too.
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: Many for my liking.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: Probably the tables that those are in.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: I have videos of me jumping through tables in college.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: It's not that your York s n y that just
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: seems painful, kenchri Chees.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: No, it's all about how you hit the table.
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: Or about how about how drunk you get.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: That's right there.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: Is a learning curve to it. I have a video
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: of me trying to jump into my first table with
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: my shoulder and it's all about the hip and.
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: No injuries to report after anything.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: The one video I have you just see me kind
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: of lead with the shoulder and I just sadly kind
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: of slide down the table. But then you have one
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: where I lead with the hip and it was there's
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: no chance that thing was survive and I jumped off
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: of a porch.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Okay, and uh, I guess you can't end. I guess
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: you can't end an AFC East betting podcast without some
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: table talk. So that does fit.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: How about New York Dolphins? Dolphins make the playoffs? You can,
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: I'll jump to a table, okay.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: I also have a video of me shotgunning a beer
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: out of a prosthetic leg in Buffalo at a game.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: So I even got a tattoo in a bus at
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: a Bill's game.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: I'm trying to I still the tattoo. But you you
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: you're not.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: You're fearless with the tattoos. You've done that.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a lot.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: Okay, So like that for you is probably not as
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: crazy as the prosthetic leg is easy I mean it's
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: just instead of a funnel, it's you know, just a
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: lot more.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Beer or what a lot of bills fans, But you're
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: all assholes.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: You said it, not me.
