- 0:18Speaker 1: your hosts from inside the Birds, Jeff Mosher and Andrew
- 0:23Speaker 1: did check o.
- 0:25Speaker 2: All right, all right, we are back here at Chickis
- 0:28Speaker 2: and Pete's Live from Chickis and Peats in Martin, New Jersey.
- 0:31Speaker 3: What a packed house, great crowd.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Everybody wondering what's going on with the Philadelphia Eagles. And Andrew,
- 0:37Speaker 2: there's more than just an offensive coordinator search going.
- 0:41Speaker 3: On with this team.
- 0:42Speaker 2: There's other real issues that are going to be presented
- 0:45Speaker 2: to them this offseason. And the first thing we should
- 0:48Speaker 2: really talk about is the health and the state of
- 0:52Speaker 2: the offensive line, which, as we know, it doesn't matter
- 0:54Speaker 2: who your coaches, who your play call if your offensive
- 0:57Speaker 2: line isn't better than it was last year. With all
- 1:00Speaker 2: the injuries that they had, they're in trouble. And as
- 1:04Speaker 2: of right now, Lane Johnson is he coming back?
- 1:07Speaker 3: How's that foot? You know?
- 1:09Speaker 2: Cam Jurgens did not play well despite making the Pro Bowl,
- 1:12Speaker 2: and Landa Dickerson look beat up, was banged up and
- 1:16Speaker 2: by a lot of as so four or five guys uh,
- 1:19Speaker 2: and then the fifth guy who stayed healthy was the
- 1:21Speaker 2: one who was acclimating all year and he became known
- 1:23Speaker 2: as not Mikhai Beckton talking about of course right guard.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Ye I thought he was okay, I I thought he
- 1:28Speaker 4: was fine. Yeah, yeah, but yeah, it's a big question.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Lanta Dickerson after the final game, I mean he said
- 1:35Speaker 4: what we all could see that he was dealing with something, uh,
- 1:39Speaker 4: dealing with a lot of things this season, and he
- 1:40Speaker 4: was emotional after the game. You have to wonder, I mean,
- 1:44Speaker 4: he's dealt with so many injuries in his career. Is
- 1:46Speaker 4: this gonna be something that continues throughout his career? I
- 1:49Speaker 4: don't know that it's gonna get better. Cam Jurgens, is
- 1:52Speaker 4: he going to be more of the player that he
- 1:54Speaker 4: was two years ago after holding now be a year
- 1:56Speaker 4: removed from the back surgery or is this more or
- 1:58Speaker 4: less who he is? And then Lane Johnson That's that's
- 2:02Speaker 4: the big question.
- 2:03Speaker 3: The big, big question.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And of course the injury report is brought to you
- 2:08Speaker 2: by the attorneys at Bagley, Carlin and Mandio. Contact them
- 2:11Speaker 2: today for a free consultation at two one five eight
- 2:15Speaker 2: oh six three, six eight nine. That's two one five
- 2:18Speaker 2: eight oh six three six eight nine. Yeah, the injury
- 2:22Speaker 2: report and the Eagles aren't even playing. But I feel
- 2:24Speaker 2: like the injury report for the Eagles right now is
- 2:27Speaker 2: just as important as it might have been in week six, nine, thirteen,
- 2:30Speaker 2: or or fifteen. Lane Johnson to me is the big
- 2:33Speaker 2: one Andrew because he's getting he's getting older. You know,
- 2:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna go ahead and assume he'll come back and
- 2:39Speaker 2: play next year. And what we need to know is
- 2:42Speaker 2: how bad. Obviously, the Eagles thought the Liz Frank's brain
- 2:45Speaker 2: in his right foot, which is a midfoot sprain, was
- 2:48Speaker 2: not going to be season ending.
- 2:51Speaker 3: They didn't put him on IR.
- 2:53Speaker 2: But then five weeks went by and he didn't play
- 2:55Speaker 2: a game, and then he got out for practice and
- 2:58Speaker 2: only made it to a limited part anticipant then all
- 3:01Speaker 2: three days and then never played in the forty nine
- 3:04Speaker 2: Ers game.
- 3:04Speaker 5: And he hasn't really spoken to the media since. So
- 3:06Speaker 5: it's October ninth. He hasn't spoken since October nine. October ninth,
- 3:10Speaker 5: and aj Brown for those keeping score, it was December eighth.
- 3:13Speaker 5: I was there in the Sofi Stadium locker room after
- 3:16Speaker 5: the Chargers game.
- 3:17Speaker 3: And what would that injury be, bruised, ego.
- 3:19Speaker 4: I don't know what that would be, but yeah, I
- 3:22Speaker 4: mean for Lane Johnson, you know you you've been around
- 3:24Speaker 4: him for a while, Jeff, you've covered him. Having such
- 3:27Speaker 4: a storied career, it's tough to envision if you're, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 4: a competitor like Lane to bow out after your ask
- 3:36Speaker 4: your your your last eight games were spent injured and
- 3:40Speaker 4: on the sideline watching.
- 3:42Speaker 2: One hundred almost I would say ninety percent of the
- 3:45Speaker 2: professional athletes I've covered have never wanted to end their
- 3:49Speaker 2: career with a season ending injury. I mean, look at
- 3:51Speaker 2: Brandon cram I mean, he works so hard to come
- 3:54Speaker 2: back from that touring Tricep just to be able to
- 3:56Speaker 2: play in the Super Bowl and then win it, and
- 3:58Speaker 2: then of course the tour it again. But at least
- 3:59Speaker 2: it won the Super Bowl. So I would be shocked. Well,
- 4:02Speaker 2: I can't say shocked. At some point your body tells you, yes,
- 4:06Speaker 2: you're physically not capable of doing something. And that's why
- 4:09Speaker 2: I wonder about the state of his right foot right now.
- 4:13Speaker 2: You got to think, with the time off and rehaber,
- 4:16Speaker 2: maybe if he gets what he needs, he'll be okay,
- 4:18Speaker 2: but I guess I'm leaving open the door that he
- 4:21Speaker 2: might not.
- 4:22Speaker 3: But even if he is.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Andrew, I think at this point you got to go
- 4:25Speaker 2: into next year having either drafted high or paid a
- 4:30Speaker 2: lot more attention and no offense to Fred Johnson, but
- 4:33Speaker 2: getting a successor type of tackle in there.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:36Speaker 4: And that goes with the question that I had as
- 4:39Speaker 4: far as if you're an offensive coordinator, I mean, you
- 4:41Speaker 4: have no way of knowing, but you're gonna be curious
- 4:44Speaker 4: as to what is the state of the offensive line
- 4:47Speaker 4: that two seasons ago, and it's not hyperbole, played at
- 4:49Speaker 4: a historic level. What version am I getting next season?
- 4:54Speaker 4: If you want to play this style, if you want
- 4:55Speaker 4: to be run first, and we have an offensive line
- 4:58Speaker 4: that's bruised and battered like it was last season, well
- 5:00Speaker 4: then that's going to ultimately cap what you're able to
- 5:02Speaker 4: do and as a play call. So these are questions
- 5:07Speaker 4: that you're gonna have if you're a perspective candidate inquiring
- 5:11Speaker 4: about these jobs or being or you know, being in
- 5:13Speaker 4: these interviews.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I haven't really studied it.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I've had a theory that I ran past Jordan Mylotta
- 5:17Speaker 2: on clean out day. I asked him if he felt
- 5:21Speaker 2: that the collective toll of both practicing and executing the
- 5:24Speaker 2: tush push over the years probably took more mileage off
- 5:28Speaker 2: the offensive.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Lineman than maybe they realized.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And I was expecting him to say no, because you
- 5:33Speaker 2: know how defensive they are a little bit about the
- 5:35Speaker 2: push play, but he actually said maybe, and he'd be
- 5:38Speaker 2: interested to see if there's any data on that. But
- 5:40Speaker 2: then he went so far to say, look at the
- 5:43Speaker 2: style of football that we played, don't just restrict it
- 5:46Speaker 2: to the tush push.
- 5:47Speaker 3: They've been a run heavy team. They ran more.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Than any team in the NFL in twenty twenty four,
- 5:53Speaker 2: brought everybody back for twenty twenty five for the most
- 5:56Speaker 2: part other than Beckton, and continued to run ball against
- 6:00Speaker 2: fronts that were coming after them. And so really you
- 6:05Speaker 2: have to I look at teams like the Steelers, like
- 6:07Speaker 2: the Ravens, the Packers, those teams commonly are dealing.
- 6:11Speaker 3: With offensive line injuries, right. You see it all the time.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So the Eagles, who already put a lot of investment
- 6:17Speaker 2: into backups, may have to double down on that going
- 6:21Speaker 2: into next year with young backups ready to start multiple games.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it's funny. I had actually been saying that for
- 6:27Speaker 4: most of the season. That so much was made in
- 6:30Speaker 4: the offseason about how Saquon Barkley handling the ball four
- 6:34Speaker 4: hundred and eighty two times playoffs included, would affect him
- 6:37Speaker 4: in twenty twenty five, but not enough was made about
- 6:40Speaker 4: how that style will play, that attrition would affect the
- 6:43Speaker 4: offensive line. We probably should have all talked about it
- 6:46Speaker 4: a little bit more. But it's a real thing that
- 6:49Speaker 4: that grading style where you're constantly on the attack, and
- 6:53Speaker 4: I mean there's no there's no there's no let up there.
- 6:56Speaker 4: That's how they play football, right, And so I mean
- 6:59Speaker 4: there are.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Times they in the push play like three times in
- 7:01Speaker 2: a row on the goal line with guys jumping over them, right,
- 7:05Speaker 2: But then just the style of being run for his team, Yeah, yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 2: Sakwon Barkley didn't get touched on that much that season.
- 7:12Speaker 4: The offensive line was paving the way and taking on
- 7:15Speaker 4: a lot of the punishment. And so you wonder if
- 7:18Speaker 4: that wear and tear. I think it's fair to question
- 7:20Speaker 4: whether or not that wear and tear severely impacted them
- 7:23Speaker 4: this season.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you what, you know this better than anybody.
- 7:25Speaker 2: The Eagles are at the forefront of NFL teams that
- 7:29Speaker 2: do research, data analytics into every facet of the organization,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and I am positive they will study this and they
- 7:37Speaker 2: are also at the forefront of tailoring their practices to
- 7:42Speaker 2: make sure.
- 7:43Speaker 3: That guys are not overwork.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Now, they were banged up as far as their level
- 7:48Speaker 2: of play not being the same, but at the same time,
- 7:51Speaker 2: they had twenty one of twenty two stars No. Twenty
- 7:55Speaker 2: twenty of twenty because Andrew mccooba had a broken but
- 7:58Speaker 2: as far as fifty three man roster, though, twenty one
- 8:01Speaker 2: of twenty two players were available for their playoff.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Game, right, And my counter to that would be, and
- 8:07Speaker 4: I've said this before when this subject comes up, just
- 8:12Speaker 4: because someone's not listed on the injury report doesn't mean
- 8:14Speaker 4: that they aren't dealing with something that late in the season,
- 8:16Speaker 4: everyone's dealing with something, yep. But you have others who
- 8:19Speaker 4: will play through things and they clearly don't look like themselves.
- 8:22Speaker 4: And so whenever I hear yeah, but the Eagles are
- 8:25Speaker 4: pretty healthy for most teams according to the injury report. Yes,
- 8:29Speaker 4: but Jordan Milata clearly look banged up all season. Cam
- 8:33Speaker 4: Jurgens look banged up all season, and you look across
- 8:36Speaker 4: the board, Jay, when Carter, there's so many guys that
- 8:40Speaker 4: you can clearly see were sort of a shadow of
- 8:42Speaker 4: themselves as we know them as. So yeah, I mean
- 8:45Speaker 4: sometimes it's a little bit beyond the injury report.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So I could theoretically see you could convince me that
- 8:51Speaker 2: Mylotta and Jurgons just need more they'll be fine next year.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Because Jurgens's back surgery was a micro dissected me. It
- 8:59Speaker 2: wasn't like a fusion, you know, it wasn't supposed to
- 9:01Speaker 2: be something highly restrictive. But he had it late, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 2: he had they went to the Super Bowl. Sure he
- 9:06Speaker 2: had it after that, and the next thing, you know,
- 9:08Speaker 2: Ota starts up. So he may never had great recovery time.
- 9:12Speaker 2: And same thing with my Lottter who never had like
- 9:13Speaker 2: an official major injury that kept him out. I do
- 9:18Speaker 2: have concerns long term about a what we talked about
- 9:21Speaker 2: with Lane and b with Landon Dickerson, because this is
- 9:25Speaker 2: a guy who came to the Eagles with what four
- 9:28Speaker 2: lower body surgeries. I mean he had at least I trope,
- 9:31Speaker 2: he had the ACL twice, I think, I mean he
- 9:33Speaker 2: had already come to the Eagles with so many surgeries
- 9:38Speaker 2: and then.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Had two this past offseason before the season started.
- 9:42Speaker 4: And then he had the meniscus right it was in
- 9:44Speaker 4: the open practice, Then leading up to the opener, it
- 9:47Speaker 4: was the back injury. Then he had an ankle, and
- 9:49Speaker 4: then I think it was a knee at some other
- 9:51Speaker 4: point in the season. He battled through all that. To
- 9:53Speaker 4: his credit, Landon Dickerson as tough as nails, but he
- 9:57Speaker 4: clearly wasn't operating at anywhere close to one hundred percent.
- 10:00Speaker 4: And it's not magically going to get better as you
- 10:03Speaker 4: advance and go into another season. You're another year older,
- 10:06Speaker 4: another year of wear and tear. So those are fair questions.
- 10:09Speaker 4: And I'm expecting the Eagles to address the offensive line
- 10:11Speaker 4: in the upcoming draft. They have to if they want
- 10:13Speaker 4: to play that style and they continue to lean into
- 10:16Speaker 4: their philosophical approach of building through the trenches. It shouldn't
- 10:19Speaker 4: be a surprise if that's where they look.
- 10:21Speaker 2: When does the Andrew to check O Eagles only mock
- 10:24Speaker 2: draft come out?
- 10:25Speaker 3: That's got to be sis. I think we need it soon.
- 10:29Speaker 2: We need to know about these centers, guards and tackles
- 10:31Speaker 2: that they're going to be taking.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, you got it.
- 10:34Speaker 3: All right, good, So I agree with you.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Eagles offensive line major major issue from an injury standpoint,
- 10:40Speaker 2: and then real quick well as we got a little
- 10:42Speaker 2: bit more time obviously Jill and.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Carter in the shoulders.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, he did not play well at all
- 10:48Speaker 4: in the In the postseason game against the forty nine ers,
- 10:51Speaker 4: he looked okay, he looked good against the Bills, he
- 10:54Speaker 4: made some plays. But this is something to keep an
- 10:57Speaker 4: eye on and far as far as where he goes
- 10:59Speaker 4: with his treatment, because he sort of intimated when he
- 11:02Speaker 4: spoke to us that yeah, it might might need to
- 11:05Speaker 4: revisit in the offseason. And that's your star player that
- 11:08Speaker 4: you're suddenly gonna have to make a big decision on
- 11:10Speaker 4: to give a lot of money to Sure, he's allowed
- 11:12Speaker 4: a ton of snaps over the past couple of seasons,
- 11:14Speaker 4: and so that's something that's sort of flying a little
- 11:16Speaker 4: under the radar that that does have some cause for concern.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Oh, I'd almost be surprised if you if it didn't
- 11:23Speaker 2: get out there, or if we didn't find out that
- 11:25Speaker 2: he underwent either at least one, maybe two procedures, like
- 11:28Speaker 2: real procedures, not PRP one right, right, right, Because even
- 11:31Speaker 2: two medical professionals told me that there's actually not a
- 11:34Speaker 2: lot of empirical data that shows that PRP injections work.
- 11:40Speaker 2: They they're supposed to, like, you know, obviously regenerate the blood,
- 11:43Speaker 2: make you feel better, but they're not long term treatments.
- 11:46Speaker 2: If you have a tear or if you've got stretching
- 11:49Speaker 2: out of the money, you probably have to get that
- 11:52Speaker 2: surgically repaired to be one hundred percent.
- 11:54Speaker 4: And that's their defensive centerpiece, one of them, him and
- 11:57Speaker 4: Zach Bond, so they have to figure that out.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and again, these solder issues for him go back
- 12:01Speaker 2: to Georgia as well, So it's obviously another thing the
- 12:04Speaker 2: Eagles are gonna have to think about before they go
- 12:06Speaker 2: ahead and make him the highest paid defensive player of
- 12:08Speaker 2: the game, which I think we all thought he'd be
- 12:10Speaker 2: in the running for going into sure this season. And listen,
- 12:14Speaker 2: he's an undeniable talent. I think as long as the
- 12:16Speaker 2: shoulders are fine, he'll be that kind of guy.
- 12:19Speaker 3: That is our injury report.
- 12:21Speaker 2: It's been brought to you by the attorneys at Bagley,
- 12:23Speaker 2: Carlin and Mandio.

- 15:41Speaker 2: Oh last sight, It's last segment here on the Pro
- 15:45Speaker 2: Football Report at a loud and lively Chickis and Pizza
- 15:48Speaker 2: in Maulntain, New Jersey, and the Eagles know they are
- 15:52Speaker 2: not in the conference championship. At what point did you
- 15:55Speaker 2: think that they were probably not going to be a
- 15:58Speaker 2: deep playoff team?
- 15:59Speaker 3: Did you have in the Buffalo game?
- 16:01Speaker 4: Oh, that late in the season the Buffalo game, because
- 16:05Speaker 4: everything started to come together where it was like, I
- 16:08Speaker 4: don't know that the defense can continue to pick up
- 16:10Speaker 4: the tab. The offense just wasn't getting there and Jalen
- 16:15Speaker 4: wasn't running the football as much, and so that could
- 16:18Speaker 4: severely it deprives the offense of a component that makes
- 16:22Speaker 4: it special. And when I saw the reluctance there, I
- 16:26Speaker 4: don't know I had. I had my doubts as to
- 16:28Speaker 4: whether or not they were going to be able to
- 16:29Speaker 4: not necessarily even flip a switch, but get to the
- 16:32Speaker 4: level that they were at against the Minnesota Vikings or
- 16:34Speaker 4: even against the Raiders, be a competent offense that can
- 16:37Speaker 4: move the football. And it was it was going into
- 16:40Speaker 4: that forty nine Ers game that I wasn't necessarily as
- 16:42Speaker 4: confident as I was. Do I think they're a better
- 16:45Speaker 4: team than the forty nine ers. I do, and I
- 16:47Speaker 4: picked them up with and I picked them to win
- 16:50Speaker 4: that game. But looking back, I we should have seen
- 16:54Speaker 4: it coming. I should have seen it coming.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I felt after the Bears loss that
- 17:02Speaker 2: they were going to obviously make the playoffs but would
- 17:04Speaker 2: not do and not because I thought that that's how
- 17:08Speaker 2: the defense was gonna play. But they weren't very good
- 17:10Speaker 2: offensively that either. They had won two amazing games against
- 17:13Speaker 2: the Lions and Packers by the skins of their teeth,
- 17:16Speaker 2: relying so much on the defense that I kept thinking,
- 17:20Speaker 2: you just can't ask your defense to win every single week,
- 17:24Speaker 2: week after week. And I couldn't pay much attention to
- 17:27Speaker 2: that Raiders game, right because that was the Raiders.
- 17:29Speaker 7: No.
- 17:29Speaker 4: I think actually that first Commander's game was where I
- 17:32Speaker 4: realized that the offense was what it was and I
- 17:35Speaker 4: didn't think it was good. That's where I really had
- 17:37Speaker 4: to had questions because they were down.
- 17:38Speaker 3: In that game.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Yep, they had to scratch and claws an inferior teams,
- 17:43Speaker 4: and in that circumstance, I was thinking to myself, what
- 17:46Speaker 4: are they gonna do in the postseason? If you're being real,
- 17:49Speaker 4: if you're being objective. It just never quite felt that way.
- 17:52Speaker 4: And then when I saw the Buffalo Bills game, that's
- 17:55Speaker 4: when everything started to come together where I'm like, I
- 17:57Speaker 4: don't know if the defense is gonna be able to
- 17:59Speaker 4: carry this team because the offense was that anemic that
- 18:03Speaker 4: I didn't know that they're gonna be able to put
- 18:04Speaker 4: up seventeen to twenty in a postseason game.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Do you mean when the key to the game for Buffalo,
- 18:09Speaker 2: as we bring up now, are Penworth Financial keys to
- 18:12Speaker 2: the game?
- 18:12Speaker 3: The key to your financial future is Penworth Financial.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Call them today at two six seven nine nine seven
- 18:18Speaker 2: four to five h three or visit Penworth dot com.
- 18:21Speaker 2: The key to that game was, Oh, the Bills are
- 18:23Speaker 2: down three defensive tackles. They are literally starting two guys,
- 18:28Speaker 2: you know, off the street defensive tackle.
- 18:31Speaker 3: The Eagles should be able to run the ball.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Oh, they cannot run the ball against a team that
- 18:35Speaker 2: doesn't have its top three defensive tackles. That was a
- 18:38Speaker 2: very good indicator as you're saying that things are just
- 18:41Speaker 2: not going to go their way.
- 18:43Speaker 3: For the long haul.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Now, we do have two exciting games in the NFL.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I'm very much looking forward to them. We have with
- 18:49Speaker 2: the early game was the I believe Broncos Patriots right
- 18:53Speaker 2: in Denver. Now the Broncos lose their started quarterback in
- 18:58Speaker 2: it's almost hard to put that. He finished the game,
- 19:00Speaker 2: he made a pass and then.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Made to last play, second last game, and then they.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Find out he's got a broken ankle and he's out.
- 19:07Speaker 4: That's a tough deal. It is tougher bow Necks, by
- 19:10Speaker 4: the way, it really is.
- 19:11Speaker 8: He was.
- 19:12Speaker 4: He played a good game. I thought he answered a
- 19:14Speaker 4: lot of the a lot of the scrutiny and the
- 19:16Speaker 4: skepticism that was sort of looming over him going into
- 19:19Speaker 4: that game. Everyone everyone was waiting for him to have
- 19:22Speaker 4: this game where there was the three, the game that CJ.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Stroud had, right, and I thought that he really rose
- 19:28Speaker 4: to the occasion and you would like to see what
- 19:30Speaker 4: he was able to do in the next round. So
- 19:33Speaker 4: now it'll be Jared Stidham.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it will be And it kind of ruins that
- 19:36Speaker 2: matchup you were going to get of the two guys
- 19:38Speaker 2: drafted in the same class, Knicks and Drake May. Drake
- 19:42Speaker 2: May obviously taken a lot of earlier. What a great
- 19:45Speaker 2: and unbelievable season he had. Yeah, I felt that once
- 19:48Speaker 2: they got past the Chargers and they were able to
- 19:51Speaker 2: win a game in which they were uncomfortable offensively, because
- 19:54Speaker 2: let's face it, all year long, the Patriots have played
- 19:56Speaker 2: a cake schedule and they've had the shot play going
- 19:59Speaker 2: all year.
- 20:00Speaker 3: They have been comfortable.
- 20:01Speaker 2: They were uncomfortable for three quarters in that Chargias game.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Pull it out, and then I said, now I feel
- 20:07Speaker 2: like they're ready to play the Texans. And of course
- 20:10Speaker 2: the Texans help hand them the game with all the
- 20:12Speaker 2: turnovers and the four interceptions in the first half. But
- 20:15Speaker 2: to me, I like this matchup of this rising New
- 20:19Speaker 2: England team versus this Broncos team that was really ready
- 20:22Speaker 2: for it, and now they've got some adversity.
- 20:25Speaker 4: And this is in Foxborough, right, No, it is in Denver, Denver,
- 20:28Speaker 4: So you gotta worry about the altitude and that that
- 20:31Speaker 4: sometimes could be the equalizer there when teams visit. Sure,
- 20:33Speaker 4: but Jared Stidham Sean Payton unsurprisingly expressed a lot of
- 20:39Speaker 4: confidence in his uh in his backup quarterback. I imagine
- 20:43Speaker 4: they're gonna take the game out of his hands a
- 20:44Speaker 4: little bit and try to hand it off to they
- 20:46Speaker 4: may they may get JK. Dobbins back his twenty one
- 20:49Speaker 4: day practice window open. Yep, you're gonna see a lot
- 20:51Speaker 4: of McLaughlin the running back and things like that. But
- 20:55Speaker 4: I have imagined knowing Sean Payton and seeing his offenses,
- 20:59Speaker 4: I think he's going to really terror this to optimize
- 21:02Speaker 4: what Sidham can do well. Get the ball out of
- 21:03Speaker 4: his hands, short, easy completions, get into a rhythm, and
- 21:07Speaker 4: then hopefully, you know, if you're the Broncos, you want
- 21:09Speaker 4: to see your defense be able to kind of pin
- 21:11Speaker 4: their ears back with Nick Benito and patzer Ten to
- 21:14Speaker 4: be able to hold up there at Andrew.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I like the Broncos in this game, I really do.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I think their defense. I listened, Drake may has been good,
- 21:20Speaker 2: but he's turned the ball over quite a bit. Throughout
- 21:23Speaker 2: the playoffs, the Broncos have played more sound football, and
- 21:26Speaker 2: their defense in Denver could be very suffocating, even for me.
- 21:30Speaker 2: So I actually like the Broncos as much as bleak
- 21:33Speaker 2: as it seems. And Hey, Nick Foles gave some encouragement.
- 21:36Speaker 2: He reminded the Broncos on social media that the Patriots
- 21:40Speaker 2: struggle in these championship type games against backup quarterbacks.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I'm going with the Broncos too. I went with them
- 21:45Speaker 4: last week nice and I was alone in that with
- 21:49Speaker 4: three other people. They went against me on that, But yeah,
- 21:52Speaker 4: I'm going with Denver here.
- 21:53Speaker 3: All right. By the way, happy thirty seventh birthday today.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I believe the Nick Foles is that right? He's a
- 21:58Speaker 2: year older than me. He's quite several years younger than me.
- 22:03Speaker 2: All right, let's go talk about the keys to the
- 22:05Speaker 2: game for Rams Seahawks. Now, the Rams have been my
- 22:08Speaker 2: team all year long. I thought going into the year
- 22:11Speaker 2: they had a chance to be the number one seed.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I had a feeling that by middle of the year.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I liked them as a super Bowl team. I've liked
- 22:19Speaker 2: them even to go on the road and win games.
- 22:21Speaker 2: But I gotta say at this point, I'm struggling. I'm
- 22:24Speaker 2: struggling to pick the Rams. They're not playing their greatest.
- 22:26Speaker 2: There was a good win in Chicago, but this Seattle
- 22:29Speaker 2: team looks really tough.
- 22:31Speaker 4: The great Sean McVeigh mismanaged that game and he still
- 22:35Speaker 4: found a way to beat the Bears.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:37Speaker 4: I didn't think Ben Johnson did a great job either,
- 22:39Speaker 4: but the Bears could have very easily won that game.
- 22:41Speaker 4: The Rams secondary has been exploited for the backstretch of
- 22:44Speaker 4: the season. They're a good football team. Offensively, they're flawed,
- 22:48Speaker 4: they're undersized. Defensively, I like their pass rush, but their
- 22:52Speaker 4: secondary leaves a lot of a lot of questions there.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Whether or not Sam Darto can take advantage of that,
- 22:57Speaker 4: we'll have to wait and see. But I love Seattle.
- 23:00Speaker 4: They They are fast, flowing, they flow to the ball
- 23:03Speaker 4: and then and they hit and they get after the quarterback.
- 23:06Speaker 4: So I think that they're gonna make Matthew Stafford and
- 23:09Speaker 4: company a little uncomfortable there. I'm taking the Seattle Seahawks.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I don't want to come off my Super Bowl pick,
- 23:13Speaker 2: especially since they've They've survived some adversity here the Rams
- 23:18Speaker 2: and have put themselves in position to be in the
- 23:20Speaker 2: Super Bowl.
- 23:21Speaker 3: But I think I'm gonna have to take the Seahawks
- 23:23Speaker 3: as well. I just think that they're playing on an
- 23:26Speaker 3: unbelievable level.
- 23:27Speaker 2: So to me, if I'm gonna say the key for
- 23:30Speaker 2: the Seahawks, it's this, Uh, they do everything really really well.
- 23:35Speaker 2: They lose Zach Charboney obviously to an injury. THEIG lost,
- 23:38Speaker 2: so they're gonna have to rely a little bit more
- 23:39Speaker 2: on Kenneth Walker. I think if they can get the
- 23:43Speaker 2: ball to Zach Sharboney.
- 23:45Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 23:45Speaker 2: If they can get the ball to Jackson Smith and
- 23:47Speaker 2: Jigba eight to ten times, they got a really good
- 23:50Speaker 2: chance to win this game. If the Rams can figure
- 23:52Speaker 2: out a way to limit him, then I think that
- 23:56Speaker 2: would tilt it toward the Rams.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Yeah, they need to give Chris Carson a call. It's
- 24:00Speaker 4: what he's up to. Oh, Chris Carson, help out that backfield.
- 24:03Speaker 3: But yeah, look Nothod Penny there you go.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a little bit uh yeah, he's a little
- 24:11Speaker 4: bit less removed from the NFL than Chris Carson, who
- 24:13Speaker 4: retired a while ago. But yeah, no, I think this
- 24:17Speaker 4: is gonna be a big opportunity for Sam Darnold here
- 24:19Speaker 4: to answer some questions, check off some boxes. This is
- 24:22Speaker 4: a game where he's gonna have to throw the football.
- 24:24Speaker 4: He didn't have to do that against the forty nine ers.
- 24:26Speaker 4: I've been a Sam Donald defender over the past couple years.
- 24:29Speaker 4: He's won fourteen games with two different franchises. That doesn't
- 24:31Speaker 4: happen by accident. But now it's time for him to
- 24:33Speaker 4: elevate his game to another level to get Seattle to
- 24:35Speaker 4: where they want to be.
- 24:36Speaker 2: All Right, those were Penworth's Financial keys to the game. Again,
- 24:40Speaker 2: the key to your financial future is Penworth Financial. Call
- 24:44Speaker 2: him today at two six seven nine nine seven four
- 24:46Speaker 2: five three or visit Penworth dot com.

- 26:14Speaker 4: It occurred to me that it's still seven days. Where
- 26:17Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with my initial My initial thought here, No.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Is that a red flag if they haven't found their
- 26:22Speaker 2: offensive coordinator seven days.
- 26:24Speaker 4: It depends on how you interpret it. Could be, you know,
- 26:27Speaker 4: diligence on their part, or it could be that coordinator perspective.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Coordinators are a little hesitant.
- 26:32Speaker 2: All right, I'm gonna say they have only because, like
- 26:36Speaker 2: I said, I was researching, like when when coaching hires
- 26:39Speaker 2: are typically made, they're usually around this time.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Now, coordinator hires might be a little bit different. I
- 26:45Speaker 3: didn't look at that. We'll have to see, but uh, anyway,
- 26:48Speaker 3: it's been fun talking some ball with you always.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I do want to say congratulations to Andrew Jones and
- 26:54Speaker 2: Carlos Beltran from the Micro Baseball Hall of Fame, Andrew

- 27:00Speaker 2: eating that he fell short, but that was his highest
- 27:03Speaker 2: that he's gotten.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Did any outfield or cover as much ground as Andrew Jones?
- 27:06Speaker 3: No, nobody covers as much ground as Andrew Jones. That's
- 27:10Speaker 3: gonna do it.
