- 0:50- This is Scott Becker with the Becker's Healthcare
- 0:53- Podcast.
- 0:54- We're thrilled today to be joined by a
- 0:56- brilliant founder and CEO.
- 0:59- We're joined today by Jeff Feldgoys, and Jeff
- 1:01- is the CEO of Revealed.
- 1:03- He's also an MIT person, a very bright
- 1:06- person. He's gonna tell us a little bit
- 1:08- about what he's doing, how he ended up
- 1:11- in this space,
- 1:12- and a lot more. I know that by
- 1:14- background, you've got this fascinating background of architecture
- 1:16- and computer science. Tell us about how one
- 1:19- goes from a master's in architecture
- 1:22- and computer science and varsity lacrosse
- 1:25- to to now being the founder of a
- 1:26- health care tech company
- 1:28- and and and so forth. Jeff, tell us
- 1:30- a little bit about yourself and about Revealed.
- 1:32- Thanks, Scott. And thank... Thanks for having me
- 1:34- on the podcast today. So, yeah, my background
- 1:36- is,
- 1:37- is varied. There there there is a common
- 1:39- theme though of of solving problems,
- 1:42- solving problems
- 1:43- in the physical world once upon a time,
- 1:45- and then really for most of my career
- 1:47- solving,
- 1:48- solving problems with software.
- 1:51- Have been working in the health health care
- 1:53- vertical now for probably,
- 1:55- now it's close to fifteen years,
- 1:57- the fintech world before that, and and really,
- 2:02- enjoy
- 2:02- understanding,
- 2:03- you know, what,
- 2:05- what moves the needle for businesses and then
- 2:07- how to how to get there most, most
- 2:09- effectively. So... Yeah. So Revealed
- 2:12- is, today,
- 2:13- focused on the problem of
- 2:15- selling into the health care vertical and is
- 2:18- enterprise,
- 2:19- health care intelligence, and that's, that's what we're,
- 2:22- that's what we're focused on. Thank you. And
- 2:25- tell us a little bit about what does
- 2:26- Revealed do? What's what's the core of what
- 2:29- you do? Why do health systems work with
- 2:31- you? Tell us a bit about what you
- 2:32- do and what you're trying to solve.
- 2:35- Yeah. So so revealed is really everything you
- 2:37- need to know about enterprise health care buyers.
- 2:41- So that's payers, providers,
- 2:43- pharma. And and we bring it all together
- 2:45- in one place. We continuously
- 2:47- update it, and it's curated
- 2:49- for each vendor's team. So what is the
- 2:53- the solution that they're selling? Who are their
- 2:55- buyers within the within the health care organization?
- 2:57- So we really curate that that set of
- 2:59- intelligence for for each of the vendors and
- 3:01- really make it highly accurate. And then I'd
- 3:04- I'd say the second piece, which is probably
- 3:06- even more important, is intelligence is is useful,
- 3:10- but really what you wanna do is is
- 3:11- get results. And how do you operationalize
- 3:13- the information? How do you make it,
- 3:16- turn into
- 3:18- booked meetings? How do you make it, get
- 3:20- you in front of the right people? So
- 3:21- we're we're, we're doing both of those things.
- 3:23- We're we're building that curated intelligence, and then
- 3:25- we've we've got, we've got tools that really
- 3:28- help teams operationalize it, within their, within their
- 3:31- AI systems.
- 3:33- In in in how did you get it
- 3:34- started, and what advice would you give to
- 3:36- other founders? How did you get going? I
- 3:38- mean, really remarkable.
- 3:40- And what advice would you give to other
- 3:41- emerging founders?
- 3:43- Yeah. So,
- 3:45- so I... I've... Like I said, been building
- 3:46- in in the vertical. Last company, I was
- 3:49- leading product and engineering for a medical weight
- 3:51- management company that we built up
- 3:53- and,
- 3:54- and IPO'd.
- 3:55- This was,
- 3:57- actually during COVID
- 3:59- and ran around, not not only The US,
- 4:02- but the world,
- 4:03- helping helping our commercial team sell,
- 4:06- sell to, large health care institutions
- 4:08- and smaller practices as well
- 4:11- and really really learned about the problem. So
- 4:13- I think, you know, understanding the problems intimately
- 4:15- is is extremely important. You really you really
- 4:18- have to walk the walk and live live
- 4:20- the problem along along with the people that
- 4:23- you're solving it for.
- 4:24- And my cofounder,
- 4:26- was was also, building a health care, radiology
- 4:29- AI business. So he he, he has the
- 4:32- scars as well of selling into the vertical.
- 4:33- And we really just said to ourselves, there's
- 4:35- there's gotta be, there's gotta be a better
- 4:37- way, an easier way to help teams with
- 4:40- less effort and just more, more clarity be
- 4:43- able to
- 4:44- be able to bring,
- 4:46- innovations into into the health care vertical. So
- 4:48- we really started with a broad problem. We
- 4:50- spent a lot of time,
- 4:52- talking about the problem with, the people that
- 4:54- we're trying to solve it for and then
- 4:56- then really got to the solution later. So
- 4:58- we we spent, quite quite a bit of
- 5:00- time in the in the problem in the
- 5:02- problem area. And I... I'd I'd recommend that
- 5:04- really to anyone. Don't don't jump to solutions
- 5:06- too quickly. Really try to understand the problem
- 5:08- intimately,
- 5:09- live the problem,
- 5:11- have have a few scars from, from struggling
- 5:14- with it, and and you'll have a a
- 5:15- better solution in the end.
- 5:17- So I'm gonna say a name, and I'm
- 5:19- gonna ask you to give us your response
- 5:22- and the first thing that comes to your
- 5:23- mind, and you'll let me know when you're
- 5:25- ready for this. Alright.
- 5:27- I'm gonna do three of these very quickly.
- 5:30- First, Peter Lynch.
- 5:32- Amazing investor
- 5:34- who
- 5:35- who really
- 5:36- got into those details, understood
- 5:40- the the the details of the problem in
- 5:42- order to come up with the investment thesis.
- 5:45- Tom Brady or Bill Belichick.
- 5:49- Incredible students
- 5:50- of of the game
- 5:53- and really, again, you know, say say say
- 5:55- the same thing again.
- 5:57- Understand
- 5:57- the the problem, study it study it hard,
- 6:01- and and be be persistent about that.
- 6:04- The best restaurant
- 6:06- in Brookline.
- 6:09- That's a that's a tough one. We actually
- 6:11- have a we have a bunch of of
- 6:12- really good ones.
- 6:14- I'm gonna go a little lowbrow here and
- 6:16- say The Abbey is an Irish pub that
- 6:18- I I I love going to. They have
- 6:21- they have
- 6:22- a a limited menu of just excellent food.
- 6:25- And and beyond that, it's it's the the,
- 6:27- it's the experience overall, the experience that they
- 6:30- bring. So, you know, if I was to
- 6:33- take that back to,
- 6:34- the business world, can you can you deliver
- 6:36- a solution for your customer
- 6:39- that is is not just handing them software,
- 6:42- but really giving them,
- 6:43- a a full a full experience, full solution.
- 6:45- We we really believe in that with our
- 6:47- And, Jeff, we're gonna come back to health
- 6:49- care in one second. I promise you. I
- 6:50- promise you. I have two more quick questions.
- 6:52- Yeah. Mark Sibyl in soccer or Jeff Feldgoys
- 6:55- in lacrosse?
- 6:58- I
- 6:59- am not sure where you're going with that
- 7:01- exactly, Scott, but I'll, I'll I'll tell you
- 7:03- about,
- 7:05- soccer is is a is a huge passion
- 7:07- of mine. I'm a big supporter of Arsenal.
- 7:10- I play every week myself,
- 7:12- love the game, and think, you know, there's
- 7:15- there's a there's a ton to be
- 7:17- enjoyed, learned, from from the game. Who is
- 7:20- a better soccer player? You or doctor Mark
- 7:22- Sibyl?
- 7:23- Well, that... That's a that's a that's a
- 7:25- tough one. We we, we talk about the
- 7:27- game. We actually haven't played on the on
- 7:28- the on the pitch together,
- 7:30- yet. So that's, that's maybe something for us
- 7:33- to do still. So so talk... Let me
- 7:35- take you back to revealed. I promised I
- 7:37- would. Tell us about sort of where you're
- 7:38- most focused and excited this coming year and
- 7:41- where you feel like you're having the most
- 7:43- impact with health care systems.
- 7:45- Yeah. So so I I... Just to be
- 7:47- clear, you know, our customers are health care
- 7:49- vendors.
- 7:50- So we are... We're helping,
- 7:52- you know, companies that are, say, selling,
- 7:55- radiology
- 7:56- AI software into health systems. Some of our
- 7:59- customers sell,
- 8:00- staffing services. Others others sell, revenue cycle management
- 8:04- software. You you name it. Basically, anything
- 8:07- that, that is sold into enterprise health care,
- 8:10- we have, we have customers that are that
- 8:12- that are selling those those types of things.
- 8:14- So
- 8:16- we we are we are really excited,
- 8:18- to help those those customers,
- 8:21- as I was saying before, operationalize
- 8:23- their go to market.
- 8:24- We're seeing a ton of rev ops engineering
- 8:27- growth within our our customer base. So this
- 8:29- is these are engineers that are focused in
- 8:31- the go to market space.
- 8:34- Teams don't want to, you know, expand their
- 8:36- sales teams massively. What they wanna do is
- 8:38- make those teams much more efficient.
- 8:40- And so they're hiring,
- 8:42- and they're building, these, sales enablement rev ops
- 8:45- functions to do that. And so operationalizing,
- 8:49- sales intelligence, being able to automate workflows,
- 8:52- doing that within cloud, within,
- 8:54- chat GPT is something that we're seeing as
- 8:56- a as a massive trend among our customers.
- 8:59- And so we're really excited
- 9:01- to help them do that. And so we
- 9:03- have we have apps that run within cloud,
- 9:06- within GPT... Chat GPT
- 9:08- that operationalize things like,
- 9:11- making sure that the CRM is is fully
- 9:14- up to date and and clean, doing signal
- 9:17- based outreach,
- 9:18- prioritizing accounts so that so that the team
- 9:21- is focused on the the highest value opportunities,
- 9:24- the the the opportunities that are most likely
- 9:26- to to move forward. So we're doing we're
- 9:29- doing those sorts of things with our customers,
- 9:30- and we're seeing that as a as a
- 9:32- as a really big trend. The the go
- 9:34- to market space is is really transformed with
- 9:36- with the new AI
- 9:38- tools that are out there, and and teams
- 9:40- are adopting them very aggressively.
- 9:43- Thank you very, very much. And and, Jeff,
- 9:45- you've done an incredible job throughout your career.
- 9:47- Take a moment and tell us. You were
- 9:49- also
- 9:50- a Manuel Fellow.
- 9:52- Can you take a moment on that experience?
- 9:54- Was that for for a technology health care
- 9:56- startup founder? That must be an amazing experience.
- 9:59- Can you tell us just a bit about
- 10:01- that?
- 10:02- Yeah. Absolutely.
- 10:04- So great experience. So that was a,
- 10:07- a year fellowship.
- 10:08- It's actually where,
- 10:10- kareem my co founder and I met we
- 10:12- were both menlo fellows So really credit,
- 10:15- credit menlo ventures with bringing us together
- 10:18- and the the fellowship was really a,
- 10:21- a a way for
- 10:23- a 100 or so exited founders, people who
- 10:26- were thinking about what was next, looking to
- 10:29- solve, the next problems to come together in
- 10:31- a in a curated way with Memlo Ventures
- 10:34- to really explore the the problem space. So
- 10:36- we,
- 10:37- we we met. We both, we both talked
- 10:39- about our experiences selling into the health care
- 10:41- vertical and talked about,
- 10:43- solving these problems. So,
- 10:45- great great group of people,
- 10:47- you know, highest respect for, the investors at
- 10:50- Menlo Ventures and and really
- 10:52- think, they're doing amazing work there.
- 10:55- Jeff, amazing work that you're doing with companies
- 10:58- in the health care space that are trying
- 10:59- to reach their customers,
- 11:01- trying to do so in an efficient way
- 11:03- with their sales and growth teams. I I
- 11:05- wanna thank Jeff Felgoyse,
- 11:07- cofounder revealed,
- 11:09- for joining us today on the Becker's healthcare
- 11:10- podcast. Jeff, what a pleasure to visit with
- 11:12- you. Thank you so much. Thank you, Scott.
- 11:15- Appreciate it, and really enjoyed the conversation.
