In top news, dogs known for their unwavering loyalty and companionship also excel at reducing
• 5:02
  human anxiety and improving mood.
• 5:07
Human studies have highlighted the unique way dogs offer comfort and support, often
• 5:12
surpassing human interaction in stressful situations.
• 5:16
For instance, dog owners show smaller increases in blood pressure and heart rate during stress
• 5:21
tests when their pets are present, compared to those accompanied by a spouse or friend.
• 5:27
This calming effect is attributed to dogs' non-judgmental support, their ability to read
• 5:32
human emotions accurately, and their consistent, unconditional love.
• 5:38
Additionally, speaking to dogs about emotional issues can be therapeutic, as they listen
• 5:44
  without judgment or interruption.
• 5:46
This interaction not only provides a sense of purpose and security, but also helps in
• 5:51
emotional processing, offering a safe space for expression.
• 5:56
This canine-human bond, backed by psychological and physiological evidence, underscores the
• 6:02
unique and beneficial role dogs play in human well-being.
• 6:08
In business news, Toyota Motors hybrid vehicle sales are skyrocketing, leading to a record
• 6:14
$30 billion net profit forecast for the fiscal year.
• 6:20
This surge is driven by the growing U.S. preference for hybrids over electric vehicles, due to
• 6:25
  concerns about charging and cost.
• 6:27
As a result, Toyota's shares have soared.
• 6:30
With hybrids outselling electric vehicles in the U.S., the company, a pioneer in hybrid
• 6:36
technology, is reaping the benefits of this shift in consumer preference.
• 6:41
This trend has also influenced other automakers like General Motors and Ford to focus more
• 6:46
  on hybrid models.
• 6:49
Despite lagging in electric vehicle sales, Toyota's leadership in hybrids continues
• 6:54
  to strengthen its market position.
• 6:57

  Let's talk science.
• 8:03
NASA's Ingenuity helicopter on Mars, a groundbreaking project, has completed its mission.
• 8:11
Originally part of the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover mission, it was added in May 2018.
• 8:17
Designed to survive 30 days and fly five missions, Ingenuity exceeded expectations by lasting
• 8:24
nearly three years and completing 72 flights.
• 8:29
Its last flight occurred on January 18, 2024, after which damage to one of its rotors was
• 8:35
  discovered.
• 8:36
This innovative craft, weighing about four pounds on Earth, required unique design solutions
• 8:42
  due to Mars' thin atmosphere.
• 8:45
Ingenuity's successful mission has paved the way for future space exploration, marking
• 8:50
a significant achievement in interplanetary aviation.
• 8:56
And in entertainment news, in a groundbreaking move, Disney's ESPN, Fox Corporation, and
• 9:04
Warner Brothers Discovery are collaborating to launch a comprehensive sports streaming
• 9:09
  service.
• 9:11
This platform, set to debut in the fall, will feature a vast array of sports content, including
• 9:17
NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and FIFA World Cup games, as well as NASCAR, USC, and PGA Tour Golf.
• 9:28
Each company holds a one-third ownership in this venture.
• 9:32
The pricing and name of the service are yet to be announced.
• 9:36
This initiative represents a significant shift in the media landscape, with traditional broadcasters
• 9:41
adapting to the growing trend of streaming, challenging dominant players like Netflix,
• 9:48
  Amazon, and Apple.
• 9:49
The new service aims to cater to the increasing number of consumers moving away from traditional
• 9:55
cable subscriptions, offering a diverse range of live sports events in one accessible location.
• 10:01
  Well, alrighty, folks.
• 10:04
It's time for the quote of the day.
• 10:06
And today, our quote comes from Paul McCartney.
• 10:10
  And the Beatles' frontman said,
• 10:12
I'll give you all I've got to give.
• 10:15
If you say you love me, too.
• 10:18
I may not have a lot to give, but what I got, I'll give to you.
• 10:23
I don't care too much for money.
• 10:25
  Money can't buy me love.
• 10:28
And that's a wrap for this morning.
• 10:30
