  Speaker 1: it comes in and wreaks havoc on your body and

  Speaker 1: then leaves and you don't have it anymore, but you're

  Speaker 1: left with what the doctors called lungs that looked like
• 0:35
  Speaker 1: Swiss cheese. They said it looked like it looked like
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: he'd been a heavy smoker his entire life. And he
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: was on every machine they could put him on, and
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: they towards the end, they were all on full. They
• 0:47
  Speaker 1: were on you know, he'd have days where he was
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: doing okay, and everyone get excited because something would happen
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: that was somewhat good, and then it would all kind
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: of go back to zero. So he was just even

  Speaker 1: to live. He would have needed a full double lung transplant,

  Speaker 1: and you only get those if you're healthy. In all

  Speaker 1: other ways. So he the machines were really truly keeping

  Speaker 1: him alive, but he was surrounded by loved ones. And

  Speaker 1: Amanda is just the ultimate wife. I mean she I

  Speaker 1: can't imagine a spouse who could have championed her husband more.

  Speaker 1: I mean, she started this movement online with people just

  Speaker 1: rooting for them and singing his song. He's Nick, amongst

  Speaker 1: being an actor and a Broadway star and was also

  Speaker 1: becoming a TV star, was writing his own music. And

  Speaker 1: so he wrote this song Live Your Life, which was beautiful.

  Speaker 1: You know. I guess one of the hardest things for us,

  Speaker 1: young folks, not believing that that this can really kill them.

  Speaker 1: in treating him, he developed all these blood clots so

  Speaker 1: bad that he had to have his leg removed. His

  Speaker 1: blood pressure wasn't strong enough, so his the tips of

  Speaker 1: all his fingers and toes were blackening and they would
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: have had to have been removed had he lived.

  Speaker 3: He also was on like you know, red havoc on
• 3:34
  Speaker 3: his kidneys. He was on dialysis.

  Speaker 1: Yea. He was on a ventilator, which was often at

  Speaker 1: its highest setting. He was on he had a pacemaker.

  Speaker 3: I don't know how we do this show today, but

  Speaker 1: BED and i went and. Had tests he tested, negative

  Speaker 1: twice And then amanda, finally said you gotta go to.

  Speaker 1: The hospital this. Is crazy she dropped him off and

  Speaker 3: She, said well, she said while he was changing, the

  Speaker 3: baby he fainted or something. Like that he lost consciousness

  Speaker 3: or something. Like that and that's when they, were like

  Speaker 3: we're going to. The, Hospital yeah and she took him

  Speaker 3: to the hospital and, you know it was the. Emergency

  Speaker 3: room so she was going to drop. Him off she couldn't,

  Speaker 3: go in so she was going to circle the block

  Speaker 3: and wait for him IF ill.

  Speaker 1: I know if she was going to serve with, the

  Speaker 1: block but she was going to. Come back she was going,

  Speaker 1: To say i'm not GONNA sit i can't come, IN

  Speaker 1: obviously i don't want to sit in the car if

  Speaker 1: up a letter. FaceTime him, i mean can you imagine

  Speaker 1: how tragic. This is you can't you can't your. Partner's

  Speaker 1: hospital you can't even, be there you can't be by.

  Speaker 1: Their side you can't, hug them you can't, kiss them

  Speaker 1: you can't cheer. Them on you have to do it.

  Speaker 1: Over FaceTime that, with that a generous nurse has.

  Speaker 3: Has arranged well that's the that's the part that's so tragic,

  Speaker 3: to me, you know just dropping him off at. The

  Speaker 3: hospital and at, this point most people WHO had covid

  Speaker 3: were getting, the test and then they were told after

  Speaker 3: they got, the test listen quarantine for a, little bit

  Speaker 3: and if you got sick and it was, like pneumonia

  Speaker 3: they were giving you drugs to combat the pneumonia.

  Speaker 4: And stuff but they were sending.

  Speaker 3: Everybody home so when we found out that he wasn't

  Speaker 3: going to, come home that was like the first thing that,

  Speaker 3: was like, holy shit.

  Speaker 1: And then he spent ninety days IN. The, ICU yeah

  Speaker 1: she would be ten feet away, From us FLORENCE and i,

  Speaker 1: literally stand ten feet away from her and watch our.
