- 0:17Speaker 3: I told do I am forbidding him for using I
- 0:23Speaker 3: think I won't think so.
- 0:24Speaker 4: I just started off with I would think, so, sorry
- 0:26Speaker 4: about that.
- 0:26Speaker 5: Yeah, so there is there's a lot of scuttle but
- 0:29Speaker 5: about the arms. Right now, there's a lot of scuttle
- 0:31Speaker 5: butte about the arms. And I'm being dead serious at
- 0:34Speaker 5: this point when it comes to Will Campbell, the Patriots
- 0:37Speaker 5: are going to have to host Will Campbell on a
- 0:39Speaker 5: thirty visit and measure his freaking arms again if you
- 0:42Speaker 5: think that he can play with those, what is it
- 0:45Speaker 5: thirty three and thirty.
- 0:48Speaker 6: Thirty two or sorry, thirty two.
- 0:50Speaker 5: It's a lot of math.
- 0:50Speaker 6: It's okay.
- 0:51Speaker 3: You happen to catch Fonseka on TV last night, the
- 0:55Speaker 3: Brazilian tennis player.
- 0:56Speaker 6: I did not what tennis was on on a Monday night.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You just want to it's the Miami Open. If it's
- 1:03Speaker 3: a Master's one thousand, it's.
- 1:04Speaker 6: Actually do pickleball now, Yeah, I know you probably don't
- 1:08Speaker 6: want I don't like that at all you don't like
- 1:09Speaker 6: the pickleball friends discussed.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Which of these players would Paul pick at number three.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I just had a gyro. You don't let me be
- 1:21Speaker 3: you might need a bit.

- 1:31Speaker 3: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:34Speaker 3: at Chills Stadium, and uh news broke after our show
- 1:39Speaker 3: on Tuesday, and of course everyone knows about it by now.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Stefan Diggs is the newest member of the New England Patriots.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Of course we're gonna dive into that, talk about it.
- 1:48Speaker 3: I got a feeling tomorrow we're gonna get our first
- 1:53Speaker 3: look at Stefan Diggs in person as a Patriot, So
- 1:56Speaker 3: look forward to that. A bunch of content coming to
- 2:00Speaker 3: you on Patriots dot Com and Patriots social media tomorrow.
- 2:03Speaker 3: So we'll deal with that tomorrow. But today we get
- 2:06Speaker 3: to talk about it. It's Evan, it's Paul, it's Deuce,
- 2:09Speaker 3: it's Alex, it's me, it's Matt and Nabooth. We're all
- 2:12Speaker 3: here for the next two hours talking Patriots. Of course,
- 2:15Speaker 3: we're gonna dive into the draft we'll dive into free
- 2:18Speaker 3: agency and Stefan Diggs and anything else you want to
- 2:21Speaker 3: talk about. It's Thursday in the offseason, so anything can
- 2:24Speaker 3: happen here. So guys, opening thoughts.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I think I have to go first. I feel a
- 2:31Speaker 4: little like a Florida Panthers fan, like after you got
- 2:33Speaker 4: Brad Marsham and you're like, I always liked him on
- 2:36Speaker 4: my team. I mean, you know, I feel like that's
- 2:38Speaker 4: a little bit of what I'm going through. Look, I
- 2:39Speaker 4: was a little apprehensive about Stefan Diggs, and I mean,
- 2:42Speaker 4: I don't think you need to go through what you know,
- 2:44Speaker 4: some of his I don't know if you could call
- 2:46Speaker 4: him issues, but you know, just some of the things
- 2:47Speaker 4: that have popped up with him kind of being a
- 2:49Speaker 4: devil wide receiver, which let's face it, a lot of
- 2:51Speaker 4: them are. So Yeah, that part of it concerns me
- 2:54Speaker 4: a little bit, but I think there's no question that
- 2:56Speaker 4: this player, it makes this room better, and then they
- 2:59Speaker 4: needed it down deperately. I don't know if he's the
- 3:01Speaker 4: leader to come in and get everybody in line, but
- 3:05Speaker 4: I do think that his his intensity, his focus on
- 3:08Speaker 4: the game, you know, the nuance of his route running,
- 3:11Speaker 4: how good. He's gotten at it. He clearly works at
- 3:13Speaker 4: his craft, and my hope is that he will set
- 3:16Speaker 4: the tone whether he's not you know, hey, tomorrow, Douglas,
- 3:18Speaker 4: let's go out for drinks, right, you know, trying to
- 3:19Speaker 4: be like that guy. I don't know if he's going
- 3:21Speaker 4: to be that warm and fuzzy guy. I don't necessarily
- 3:23Speaker 4: need him to be, but I just need him to
- 3:25Speaker 4: kind of set the bar for this wide receiver room
- 3:27Speaker 4: and show them what it looks like when you have
- 3:29Speaker 4: attention to detail and you're on top of everything at
- 3:32Speaker 4: all times. So I'm hopeful. I'm excited to watch him play. Look,
- 3:35Speaker 4: he's dynamite on the field, there's no you know that
- 3:37Speaker 4: that didn't take much adjustment. But it's like any of
- 3:39Speaker 4: those players, like, well, you're a hockey fan, you watch
- 3:41Speaker 4: Brad Marshall and you're like, I hate that guy. But
- 3:44Speaker 4: we'll see how he is now that we get again.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I don't think Dig's gonna be licking people, hopefully not
- 3:50Speaker 3: not me at least that's a marsh On thing for
- 3:55Speaker 3: people who aren't from Boston.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Time. Yeah, you feel the same way.
- 4:02Speaker 5: I didn't necessarily have the hatred for Diggs that deuce did.
- 4:06Speaker 5: I feel like by the time he got to Buffalo,
- 4:09Speaker 5: the Patriots were kind of going this way and the
- 4:10Speaker 5: Bills are going that way, so I didn't necessarily feel
- 4:13Speaker 5: the same way. But I think the thing that's most
- 4:16Speaker 5: appealing to me is imagining him with Josh McDaniels in
- 4:20Speaker 5: all the different ways that Josh McDaniels is going to
- 4:23Speaker 5: get him open within the offense. I don't anticipate that
- 4:26Speaker 5: they're just gonna glose to Von Diggs to the boundary
- 4:30Speaker 5: and have him just run routes out there. I think
- 4:32Speaker 5: they are going to move him a lot around a
- 4:34Speaker 5: lot and have him be a chess piece and really
- 4:37Speaker 5: an engine of this offense. You look at his numbers
- 4:40Speaker 5: over the last couple of years, he's really turned into
- 4:42Speaker 5: a first and second level route runner. He's a short
- 4:45Speaker 5: and intermediate guy. He's a chain mover. I wouldn't necessarily
- 4:49Speaker 5: say the big plays are there anymore from where they
- 4:51Speaker 5: were in Minnesota in his early career in Buffalo, but
- 4:54Speaker 5: now he's really one of those guys that can really
- 4:57Speaker 5: be an engine of an offense, and I think that's
- 5:00Speaker 5: what they needed. They needed a high volume player, and
- 5:02Speaker 5: I think they got on with him.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Yeah, I love the idea of the pick. I think
- 5:06Speaker 6: we talked about it on Tuesday. I would absolutely and
- 5:10Speaker 6: I wanted to bring him in for a multi year deal.
- 5:12Speaker 6: I was not interested in a one year deal. And
- 5:14Speaker 6: I know this is probably not a three year, sixty
- 5:17Speaker 6: nine million dollar deal. We all know that, and we
- 5:19Speaker 6: all know how these numbers can be deceptive. But the
- 5:23Speaker 6: stuff that Evan talked about is what I think Drake,
- 5:27Speaker 6: Drake may really needs is a guy who can consistently
- 5:29Speaker 6: move the chains. When I've got to have a play
- 5:31Speaker 6: comes up, where are you going to look? You're going
- 5:33Speaker 6: to look to him. I think it's asked an awful
- 5:35Speaker 6: lot of Hunter Henry to do that constantly last year.
- 5:39Speaker 6: Diggs is I think far more suited for that. You know,
- 5:42Speaker 6: that's what he is now. He's probably like a ten
- 5:44Speaker 6: yard per catch kind of guy. The last two seasons
- 5:47Speaker 6: that he played, his numbers have dropped precipitously, not receptions,
- 5:51Speaker 6: the receptions. He was on board for another one hundred
- 5:54Speaker 6: catch season last year in Houston, but the yards per
- 5:57Speaker 6: catch had dropped from about fourteen to ten over the
- 6:01Speaker 6: last three seasons. You know, his last year in Buffalo
- 6:03Speaker 6: his year in Houston. So that's what Evan said. He
- 6:06Speaker 6: is is probably what you're going to see. What I
- 6:09Speaker 6: like about him is I don't necessarily have to rely
- 6:11Speaker 6: on Josh McDaniels to get him open. He's going to
- 6:13Speaker 6: get himself open. He's provided that he's healthy. He's an
- 6:17Speaker 6: exceptional route runner. My only concern is his health. Mike.
- 6:20Speaker 6: I don't have any concern whatsoever about the diva nature.
- 6:23Speaker 6: That's what quarterbacks have to deal with. If Drake May
- 6:26Speaker 6: felt like he was going to go through his career
- 6:28Speaker 6: without some big personality wide receiver breathing down his neck
- 6:31Speaker 6: about his touches, right, he was deceiving himself. I say
- 6:35Speaker 6: this all the time. That's a group of one. Larry
- 6:38Speaker 6: Fitzgerald is the only exceptional wide receiver I can even
- 6:42Speaker 6: think of that never worried about his touches or anything
- 6:45Speaker 6: other than winning. All these other guys, even the ones
- 6:48Speaker 6: with great reputation. Terry McLaurin is the guy with an
- 6:51Speaker 6: exceptional reputation in Washington. He bitched. That's just what these
- 6:55Speaker 6: guys do, So I'm not worried about that. I think
- 6:57Speaker 6: this is a great signing, provided that he's healthy. Alex,
- 7:00Speaker 6: and Alex has to be excited about it for far
- 7:02Speaker 6: different reasons.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I am excited about it. I don't know if the
- 7:06Speaker 2: Cardi B relationship is a real thing or if that's
- 7:08Speaker 2: just social media fodder. But yeah, to all you guys's points,
- 7:12Speaker 2: I think I think you need a diva wide receiver.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I think it's good for that room. And I don't
- 7:17Speaker 2: think we're coming in like to do this point that
- 7:20Speaker 2: we're not asking him to be that like boy scout leader.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I think kind of mc collins can fall into that role, right,
- 7:26Speaker 2: and then Diggs can be a leader with just his
- 7:28Speaker 2: play on the field elevating everyone else. So I'm really excited.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I hope he comes in with a chip on his shoulder,
- 7:34Speaker 2: ready to prove a lot of people wrong. And I
- 7:37Speaker 2: don't know the injury thing, obviously concerned, but modern medicine
- 7:40Speaker 2: and the stuff these guys do to take care of
- 7:42Speaker 2: their bodies these days, I think it's different.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with Paul. The only thing I'm worried about
- 7:49Speaker 3: is his health, Like how is he going to be
- 7:51Speaker 3: And it's not just a physical thing when you have
- 7:53Speaker 3: those type of injuries, it's mental. It's like that's the
- 7:56Speaker 3: part can I cut as hard as I did before?
- 7:58Speaker 3: And you know that's a big part of it, is
- 8:00Speaker 3: the route running. And if that's fine, then this is
- 8:04Speaker 3: all positive to me. He's gonna show these guys how
- 8:07Speaker 3: to run a route, how to how to be a
- 8:09Speaker 3: receiver in the NFL, and and he's not. I don't
- 8:13Speaker 3: think he's gonna have much to bitch about because he's
- 8:15Speaker 3: gonna get a lot of touches on this office.
- 8:17Speaker 6: But I'm just gonna prepare everybody. He led the league
- 8:21Speaker 6: in touches I believe three seasons to targets. I'm sorry,
- 8:26Speaker 6: not touches targets three years in a row, and was
- 8:28Speaker 6: still constantly whining about it. So just be prepared, and
- 8:32Speaker 6: it's okay, Like I don't. Mike and I have sort
- 8:35Speaker 6: of argued about Diggs specifically on pre and post game
- 8:38Speaker 6: shows for years, like I don't care, Like it's you know,
- 8:42Speaker 6: I hate to credit my shows with Veelger and Maz,
- 8:46Speaker 6: but bring me the a hole, Like I want the
- 8:48Speaker 6: talented guy, and I want the guy even if he's
- 8:51Speaker 6: causing some priduze as long as he's like if the goal,
- 8:54Speaker 6: as long as the goal was winning. Yeah, that's all
- 8:57Speaker 6: I care about. Like everybody said that Randy Moss didn't
- 8:59Speaker 6: want play football anymore because he was selfish. But all
- 9:03Speaker 6: we wanted to do was get to a situation where
- 9:05Speaker 6: he could win. And I think Diggs is, you know,
- 9:08Speaker 6: sort of one of those guys. He's gonna he's gonna
- 9:10Speaker 6: complain if he's not getting targeted, especially if they're not winning.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I'd say one more point to that, to
- 9:17Speaker 4: just that I like I like Rabel. I like Rabel
- 9:19Speaker 4: being the guy it's gonna deal with that. But that's
- 9:24Speaker 4: he put the words out of my mouth. I trust
- 9:27Speaker 4: Mike Rabel wouldn't let these things boil over into being
- 9:30Speaker 4: an issue, and that's let him be him, let him
- 9:32Speaker 4: play the way that he wants to play. But I
- 9:35Speaker 4: I just trust Mike Rabel in the way that I
- 9:36Speaker 4: think he's going to manage this team that will.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Now here's the thing, and I agree with you. I
- 9:42Speaker 3: think I'd be a little more concerned if this happened
- 9:46Speaker 3: last year with Mayo a little bit less control. I
- 9:53Speaker 3: think you'll see the control here now, certainly in terms
- 9:57Speaker 3: of locker room guys. I think we've we have more
- 10:00Speaker 3: them on the defensive side of the ball right now
- 10:02Speaker 3: than we do on the offensive side of the ball.
- 10:04Speaker 3: But Josh McDaniels, I think, is a guy who's gonna,
- 10:08Speaker 3: I think, set the tone. I said, I think Josh
- 10:11Speaker 3: McDaniels is going to set the tone for the offense,
- 10:16Speaker 3: and certainly he has the credentials when it comes to
- 10:20Speaker 3: running an offense. I think Diggs was going to respect that,
- 10:24Speaker 3: and all the rest of the guys are going to
- 10:25Speaker 3: respect that. And then I think all the wide receiver
- 10:28Speaker 3: is going to respect Diggs because, like I said, he
- 10:30Speaker 3: is a professional when it comes to being a receiver
- 10:33Speaker 3: in the NFL. So's if he's healthy both mentally and physically,
- 10:38Speaker 3: then let's go.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I want to go. I want to hear what
- 10:40Speaker 4: he has to say, though, I you know, what was
- 10:42Speaker 4: it about New England and can he shine it on
- 10:44Speaker 4: a little bit and to make us think like that
- 10:46Speaker 4: he likes what they're building here or was it just
- 10:48Speaker 4: about this was the biggest This was the biggest and
- 10:51Speaker 4: best offer and that's what he took. I mean, you know,
- 10:53Speaker 4: of course that's probably what mostly it is. But I'd
- 10:57Speaker 4: like to have him flirt with me a little bit
- 10:58Speaker 4: and be like, no, I'm so I.
- 11:00Speaker 6: Want last year.
- 11:02Speaker 3: No, I want, I want to play with him.
- 11:04Speaker 6: I want.
- 11:04Speaker 3: I wanted to stand up there. I talked to coach Rabel,
- 11:06Speaker 3: I could talk to Josh McDaniels. They excited about what
- 11:10Speaker 3: they have in store and and what they're gonna what
- 11:13Speaker 3: their vision is of the offense. They told me that
- 11:15Speaker 3: they want me to be you know.
- 11:17Speaker 6: You know, I have some bridges to sell. They are interested.
- 11:20Speaker 3: They told me they want me to be, you know,
- 11:22Speaker 3: the integral part of the offense, you know, in his words,
- 11:27Speaker 3: I expect to hear something like that.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I hope.
- 11:29Speaker 6: So, yeah, I'm only eleven minutes in. I'm going to
- 11:32Speaker 6: be good.
- 11:33Speaker 5: I feel like some of the diva stuff. And maybe
- 11:35Speaker 5: you guys can point to exact anecdotes of what you're
- 11:39Speaker 5: talking about necessarily because that's that's Minnesota. Like, let's just
- 11:46Speaker 5: put these all in context, right, Like Minnesota, he needed
- 11:48Speaker 5: a new contract and and the Vikings decided to keep
- 11:52Speaker 5: Adam Feeling and trades to Von Diggs and then draft
- 11:55Speaker 5: Justin Jefferson, like they decided to just go into a
- 11:57Speaker 5: different direction with their team. And then in Buffalo they
- 12:01Speaker 5: they underachieved, Like that team was talented enough to win
- 12:05Speaker 5: a Super Bowl, and they got bounced in the divisional
- 12:07Speaker 5: round by the Beagles.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Because he dropped a bomb with the game on the line.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Okay, I mean he made a bad play, Like I.
- 12:12Speaker 6: Are gonna say. If they're gonna bitch about getting the
- 12:15Speaker 6: most targets in football, you need to produce when you're targeted.
- 12:21Speaker 6: He was always bitching that he wasn't getting the ball
- 12:23Speaker 6: thrown when they were losing games.
- 12:25Speaker 3: When they were losing, Evan, is true.
- 12:26Speaker 6: Evan's exactly right. They underachieved, but they didn't win.
- 12:29Speaker 3: But is that true.
- 12:30Speaker 6: I don't led the league in targets, that's true.
- 12:32Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But but but you just said that that's not what
- 12:37Speaker 3: he was bitching about. He was bitching about not getting
- 12:39Speaker 3: the ball when they were losing.
- 12:41Speaker 6: They're getting He was bitching about not getting the ball always.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Is that true?
- 12:45Speaker 6: Yes? Okay, Okay, we can all put I didn't make
- 12:49Speaker 6: it to twelve minutes. We can all pretend those things
- 12:51Speaker 6: didn't happen.
- 12:51Speaker 3: No, No, but I want to I want to narrow.
- 12:53Speaker 6: I don't care. I just want to be on record.
- 12:55Speaker 6: I don't care that he complaints and wants the ball.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I think we owe it.
- 12:58Speaker 6: I think that's what good receivers do.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I want to know exactly what he was bitching about.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Did he have a case or was he just being a.
- 13:04Speaker 6: Deep I don't know. Talk to Josh Allen.
- 13:07Speaker 5: He obviously has some deva qualities, like any receiver of
- 13:10Speaker 5: his caliber would have. I'm not like trying to say
- 13:12Speaker 5: that he doesn't. I just think that in all these situations,
- 13:16Speaker 5: there was, you know, real reasons as to why he.
- 13:18Speaker 6: Pat now, so we have to say it was Okay,
- 13:20Speaker 6: I just want to pay with that because I've never
- 13:23Speaker 6: had a problem with him bitching about That's like, I
- 13:26Speaker 6: just don't understand.
- 13:27Speaker 5: So in Buffalo, right, they lose and the divisional.
- 13:31Speaker 6: Intentionally got worse to get rid of him. What does
- 13:33Speaker 6: that tell you?
- 13:34Speaker 5: Okay, can you let me finish? In Buffalo? He lost, right,
- 13:38Speaker 5: they lost the game, okay, And the reporting out of him, Okay,
- 13:42Speaker 5: the reporting out of Buffalo was that they didn't think
- 13:45Speaker 5: that the quarterback was as locked in as he should
- 13:48Speaker 5: be on football at the time.
- 13:50Speaker 6: Just so as the guy that last year said that
- 13:53Speaker 6: he was exceptional with the young receivers wasn't interested in
- 13:57Speaker 6: retaining him. Okay, I like, I'm just by facts. I'm
- 14:00Speaker 6: not going by stories. I'm going by the facts as
- 14:04Speaker 6: they've been presented. Like he led the league in targets
- 14:07Speaker 6: and planned, he wasn't getting targeted enough. That's a fact.
- 14:10Speaker 6: Whether it's Josh Allen was not, I don't know if
- 14:13Speaker 6: that's a fact, Josh Allen not being focused. Well, he
- 14:16Speaker 6: has digs aciety of the story.
- 14:17Speaker 3: But is the fact that he led the league in
- 14:21Speaker 3: target but and he was bitching about not getting targeted
- 14:24Speaker 3: at times at a certain times.
- 14:26Speaker 6: All the time for three full years, and Josh Allen
- 14:29Speaker 6: had had enough of it, and I think that they
- 14:31Speaker 6: had a falling out. I think what Evan's saying is right.
- 14:34Speaker 6: There was a rift between Allen and Diggs. And I'm
- 14:36Speaker 6: not telling you Allen's right because I don't know who
- 14:39Speaker 6: was right. I'm not I'm not close enough to the situation.
- 14:42Speaker 6: I just want I just want to repeat I don't
- 14:46Speaker 6: care that he wants the ball. I think good receivers
- 14:48Speaker 6: want the ball. That doesn't bother me at all, And
- 14:51Speaker 6: it doesn't. It didn't bother me when he wasn't a patriot,
- 14:53Speaker 6: and it's not going to bother me if he does
- 14:55Speaker 6: it as a patriot. I think that they needed this
- 14:58Speaker 6: move because of the death situation that that room is in. Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 6: and I needed a receiver and now they have one.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And I agree with you, Like if if they think
- 15:07Speaker 3: that Drake May was going to go through his career
- 15:09Speaker 3: and not have to deal with something like this and
- 15:12Speaker 3: not saying you're going to and it hasn't happened yet,
- 15:14Speaker 3: so you may not, but like he has to be
- 15:17Speaker 3: able to deal with that, whether it's Stefan Diggs or
- 15:20Speaker 3: Kendrick Bourne or whoever.
- 15:22Speaker 6: And if you could push back and say that maybe
- 15:24Speaker 6: I'm a little bit defensive of Josh Allen and you'd
- 15:26Speaker 6: probably be right about that. Well, I am a little defensive.
- 15:28Speaker 5: You know, I'm one of his biggest fans. All I'm
- 15:31Speaker 5: telling you. All I'm telling you is is that you know,
- 15:34Speaker 5: this is a guy that has a produced everywhere that
- 15:37Speaker 5: he's gone, but is also just this is sorted part
- 15:41Speaker 5: for the course of what these guys are like, so
- 15:44Speaker 5: to me, like, I don't understand why this is a topic.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Like the topic is is knee healthy or not?
- 15:49Speaker 6: That's that's my topic. Like, you know it has thirty
- 15:53Speaker 6: two coming off of twenty a cl can he still
- 15:56Speaker 6: be the best route runner in football. That's the only
- 15:58Speaker 6: thing I'm concerned about, you know, with Evan, Like all
- 16:01Speaker 6: this other.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Stuff to me is just I mean, do you want
- 16:05Speaker 5: to go down the list? AJ Brown, DK Metcalf like
- 16:08Speaker 5: all these guys, bitch, Like all these guys complain when
- 16:11Speaker 5: they lose or they're not getting target.
- 16:12Speaker 6: All those guys, Give me and I'll provide him the book.
- 16:16Speaker 6: I'll turn the pages of the book for him on
- 16:19Speaker 6: the bench if he needs to read the book while
- 16:21Speaker 6: he's upset during the game. Give me the talented guy
- 16:25Speaker 6: that they don't have. Diggs is that guy?
- 16:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and that we are. That's it. I just think
- 16:31Speaker 5: that talking and now we've talked about it for ten minutes.
- 16:34Speaker 5: But like talking about all this stuff is really kind
- 16:37Speaker 5: of missing the point of the whole thing. Like the
- 16:40Speaker 5: whole point of the whole thing is that he's the
- 16:42Speaker 5: older receiver that's coming off a major injury. If he's healthy,
- 16:46Speaker 5: and he's the Stefan Diggs, even the Stefon Diggs in
- 16:49Speaker 5: Houston last year, he is their best receiver by a
- 16:52Speaker 5: country mile. So like all this other stuff.
- 16:55Speaker 3: So let's talk about if he's healthy. If he's healthy
- 16:58Speaker 3: in every way, mentally and physically. What does he do
- 17:01Speaker 3: for this offense? How do you think they'll use him
- 17:04Speaker 3: in a Josh McDaniel's schemes.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I mean, he's the piece. I mean, if I'm Josh McDaniels,
- 17:10Speaker 4: that's all my play call begins with. Where are my
- 17:12Speaker 4: lining up digs? And what is his matchup? Where am
- 17:14Speaker 4: I trying to put him? I think that's just a
- 17:17Speaker 4: great luxury to have, And that's something we talked about
- 17:19Speaker 4: so much that they haven't had. Am I not talking now?
- 17:23Speaker 3: Is my mic off We're doing a little troubleshooting because microwas,
- 17:28Speaker 3: you never get comfortable when Matt comes in and all
- 17:30Speaker 3: of a sudden just starts reaching down.
- 17:31Speaker 4: And what's going on here?
- 17:34Speaker 2: Uh?
- 17:34Speaker 4: But that that, to me is the piece that I
- 17:36Speaker 4: think they've been missing. And if Josh is able to
- 17:39Speaker 4: you know, get in the lab right now and start
- 17:42Speaker 4: baking and thinking about these are the pieces I'm starting
- 17:45Speaker 4: to have. And you know, we talked a little bit
- 17:46Speaker 4: about just Travis Hunter, like his raw receiver ability learning
- 17:51Speaker 4: from Diggs is a wonderful thing.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Do you think they'll move them all over?
- 17:55Speaker 4: I think so, yeah. I Mean I looked at his
- 17:56Speaker 4: just real quick I looked at his splits. You know,
- 17:59Speaker 4: from his early days in Minnesota when he's almost entirely
- 18:02Speaker 4: outside and you know, to what the guys have been saying,
- 18:04Speaker 4: he slowly moved in and whereas last year it was
- 18:07Speaker 4: almost an even split between slot.
- 18:09Speaker 3: And which is why his yardage numbers went down.
- 18:12Speaker 6: Probable well because he slowed down. And the last two
- 18:15Speaker 6: years in Buffalo a perfect illustration. And again this can
- 18:19Speaker 6: be very deceptive. I want to be consistent. When you
- 18:21Speaker 6: just look at the numbers and you don't watch every
- 18:24Speaker 6: game in every season, you don't really know exactly what happened.
- 18:27Speaker 6: But he caught something like one hundred and six and
- 18:30Speaker 6: one hundred and seven or one hundred and seven and
- 18:31Speaker 6: one hundred and eight the last two years in Buffalo,
- 18:33Speaker 6: so almost exactly the same receptions, but the yardage went
- 18:38Speaker 6: from fourteen hundred to just about eleven hundred, an enormous
- 18:42Speaker 6: drop in his last from his second to last year
- 18:45Speaker 6: to his last year in Buffalo. He was on pace
- 18:48Speaker 6: in Houston last year to have that drop even more.
- 18:51Speaker 6: He was going to catch about one hundred balls for
- 18:54Speaker 6: about one thousand yards, so that the receptions haven't really changed,
- 18:58Speaker 6: but the yardage is changing dramatically and therefore the yards
- 19:02Speaker 6: per catch, So that tells me what Evan is talking about,
- 19:06Speaker 6: probably more slot stuff, probably more moving the chains, maybe
- 19:10Speaker 6: some quick screens. They're looking for some yards after the catch.
- 19:14Speaker 6: He's not necessarily a downfield thread anymore, which is.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Okay, But do you think any of that had to
- 19:19Speaker 4: do with just for Houston having these and having an
- 19:22Speaker 4: outside guy kind of and now like, we don't really
- 19:24Speaker 4: need him to just.
- 19:24Speaker 6: Put out because it happened in Buffalo when he was
- 19:27Speaker 6: the gut, you know, getting you know, I don't want
- 19:29Speaker 6: to get back into that, but getting the ball thrown
- 19:31Speaker 6: to him every play, So they could have done whatever
- 19:33Speaker 6: they wanted with him in Buffalo they didn't have other guys.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Yeah, So his last year he was going to set
- 19:40Speaker 5: a career low for air yards per target. He's at
- 19:43Speaker 5: eight point three air yards per targets, is very, very low.
- 19:46Speaker 5: So all of his passes that he was targeted on
- 19:48Speaker 5: were all short throws, but his average yards per route,
- 19:54Speaker 5: you know, in terms of the depth of the route,
- 19:56Speaker 5: was the same as it was the year before in Buffalo.
- 19:59Speaker 5: So that's what that tells me, is that he's not
- 20:01Speaker 5: getting open on the routes down the field anymore. He's
- 20:04Speaker 5: only getting open at the first and second level, so
- 20:06Speaker 5: that's where he's getting targeted, even though he's running routes
- 20:09Speaker 5: at the same depths as he was the year before.
- 20:12Speaker 5: So he's a chain mover like he's a true third
- 20:14Speaker 5: and six. We're gonna he's gonna get you seven yards
- 20:17Speaker 5: type of guy now. But he can do that at
- 20:19Speaker 5: a very high volume. And when you put him with
- 20:21Speaker 5: Josh McDaniels and have him do all the tricks of
- 20:25Speaker 5: the trade to get him open, you know, whether it
- 20:27Speaker 5: be playing him in the slot, playing him out of
- 20:29Speaker 5: you know, stacks or bunch alignments, moving him around the
- 20:32Speaker 5: formation in motion, like all these different things that McDaniels,
- 20:35Speaker 5: you know, really is very good at with formations and
- 20:38Speaker 5: stuff like you can have a real engine of the offense.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I think between he and in Hunter Henry, I think
- 20:46Speaker 3: now May has two guys that are sort of his
- 20:49Speaker 3: safety guys, his guys he can count on. And I,
- 20:53Speaker 3: you know, I think that's great. Like Dante Scarnecki said,
- 20:55Speaker 3: every quarterback needs that binkie. He might have two now.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Well, I think it's good for Demario Douglas too. I
- 21:01Speaker 4: think it's talk about moving him around. So much attention
- 21:05Speaker 4: is going to go to Diggs and probably out of
- 21:06Speaker 4: the slot. And now in those third and gotta have
- 21:09Speaker 4: its third and longs, you put Douglas in there and
- 21:11Speaker 4: he suddenly he's not the slot guy. He's like your
- 21:14Speaker 4: fourth guy, and you know, now he's going to get
- 21:16Speaker 4: a favorable matchup and he might be able to get
- 21:18Speaker 4: open too. So it's it's the trickle down effect. But
- 21:21Speaker 4: I'm just watching some of his highlights over the last
- 21:24Speaker 4: you know, week, as he's been you know, considering a decision,
- 21:27Speaker 4: just so impressed with what you know. I mean, we've
- 21:29Speaker 4: seen it so many times with Patriots thir third down,
- 21:32Speaker 4: we're about to get off the field and it's just
- 21:35Speaker 4: like pinpoint precision from Josh Allen to him. We saw
- 21:38Speaker 4: that so many times. So those kind of things to
- 21:41Speaker 4: watch in training camp. I mean, I still rave about
- 21:43Speaker 4: when we went to Vegas and watch Devonte Adams out
- 21:46Speaker 4: there and I was like, oh my god, like this
- 21:47Speaker 4: is what number one, you know, And I mean that's
- 21:50Speaker 4: when we really get to watch the most football of
- 21:52Speaker 4: the year other than the game. So just getting him
- 21:55Speaker 4: to see go against Gonzo go against Davis. I mean,
- 21:57Speaker 4: that's it's gonna be some real fun stuff to watch him.
- 21:59Speaker 3: You may not see that right away though, now maybe not.
- 22:01Speaker 6: No, so we should we should say in terms of
- 22:05Speaker 6: that that Adam Schefter tweeted that he is expected to
- 22:09Speaker 6: be ready for week one. Now that comes obviously directly
- 22:13Speaker 6: from Diggs's camp. That seems a little optimistic to me.
- 22:17Speaker 3: But you got hurt in October.
- 22:19Speaker 6: Whether or not. I mean, it's it's very similar to
- 22:22Speaker 6: Kenrick Bourne in terms of timeline. It's not that far off.
- 22:25Speaker 6: I forget exactly the dates. I remember when Wes Welcome
- 22:30Speaker 6: to tours Aca in the last game of the year,
- 22:32Speaker 6: and he was ready. He the very last game of
- 22:35Speaker 6: the year in Houston, and he was ready at the
- 22:38Speaker 6: start of the following season, and the two you know,
- 22:41Speaker 6: twenty ten. Now he wasn't himself that year, but he
- 22:47Speaker 6: still had a terrific season. I wouldn't rule that out
- 22:52Speaker 6: that Diggs's camp is right with their optimism, but I
- 22:56Speaker 6: just would wonder what.
- 22:57Speaker 4: It looks like. That's why you like Calvin around a
- 23:00Speaker 4: little bit.
- 23:00Speaker 6: I mean, because I think you're going to get two
- 23:02Speaker 6: years out of this. I think this is really a
- 23:03Speaker 6: two year, twenty six million dollar contract with this again,
- 23:06Speaker 6: I just wanted so I think that's a great number.
- 23:08Speaker 4: I'm good with the money, like I got all the
- 23:10Speaker 4: people that are out about that stuff like hair. That's
- 23:13Speaker 4: all good to me like that.
- 23:14Speaker 6: And I always say I don't care about the money.
- 23:16Speaker 6: That doesn't mean I want to wildly overpay anybody. This
- 23:18Speaker 6: is a bargain, you know, this is an unbelievable bargain
- 23:21Speaker 6: because I I mean, he's only guaranteed twenty six million.
- 23:23Speaker 6: My guess is he's going to play two years. That's
- 23:26Speaker 6: thirteen million a year. When you know, what does that
- 23:31Speaker 6: put him? Does it even put him in like the
- 23:33Speaker 6: top thirty?
- 23:34Speaker 4: I doubt it.
- 23:35Speaker 6: For wide receivers, I think that's a great wee.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Well, it's more than that because twenty six is what's guaranteed.
- 23:41Speaker 3: But it's a sixty nine million I know.
- 23:43Speaker 6: But he's not going to get that.
- 23:45Speaker 3: I know. But if you.
- 23:45Speaker 6: Son, it's only twenty three three years, sixty nine is
- 23:49Speaker 6: twenty three million, that's a bargain. Yeah, that's bargain basement shopping.
- 23:52Speaker 6: That's great. It's a great deal for the page.
- 23:54Speaker 3: No, it's it's it's not what the premium receivers are
- 23:57Speaker 3: getting these days.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Right, risk I mean is.
- 24:01Speaker 6: There's a lot of risk. That's why you know, the
- 24:02Speaker 6: Patriots have taken on some risk that what if you know,
- 24:05Speaker 6: what if Evan and I are you know, sort of
- 24:07Speaker 6: worried about the depth of target and all the numbers
- 24:10Speaker 6: that Evan throughout there and those turn out to be valid.
- 24:13Speaker 6: He's just kind of a guy, you know, so you know,
- 24:17Speaker 6: twenty three million. But because so I don't just say
- 24:22Speaker 6: my long way of saying, like, I think they have
- 24:23Speaker 6: a great number two guy, but now right, and I
- 24:25Speaker 6: still think that they have a cap an enormous gap
- 24:28Speaker 6: with the number one year.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Well that's the well, the thing is if even if
- 24:31Speaker 3: he's not quite himself, he's still probably the best receiver.
- 24:34Speaker 6: On the is question, Yeah, there's no one close.
- 24:38Speaker 5: I think that, you know, just thinking about the role
- 24:41Speaker 5: and what I expect him to do for their offense.
- 24:44Speaker 5: I think late career Julian Edelman is is like someplace
- 24:49Speaker 5: that I've sort of come to, uh, which will just
- 24:51Speaker 5: still very I mean one Super Bowl MVP, you know
- 24:54Speaker 5: it was second to last year, right, so I think
- 24:58Speaker 5: that something like that is still very tainable. Like he's
- 25:00Speaker 5: probably not gonna run by anybody anymore on the outside
- 25:04Speaker 5: at this stage of his career. But he's he's gonna
- 25:06Speaker 5: be able to run all those routes inside the formation
- 25:09Speaker 5: that McDaniels has used in the past.
- 25:11Speaker 3: So if the Patriots can figure out how to get
- 25:13Speaker 3: competent left tackle play this year, what's your ceiling for wins?
- 25:21Speaker 4: Ceiling?
- 25:22Speaker 6: I'm staying out of this one. Why because you get.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Mad at me, because you're gonna say four no, no.
- 25:27Speaker 6: No, no no. If they should be knocking on the
- 25:30Speaker 6: door of doubling.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Now I'm saying ten.
- 25:32Speaker 5: Wow.
- 25:32Speaker 6: Ceilings. That's why I stay on it.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Everything has to work right. Like I said, you get
- 25:38Speaker 3: you figure out who's gonna play left tackle, and the
- 25:40Speaker 3: play is competent. You know, your your guard, all your
- 25:44Speaker 3: other positions on the on the line pan out. Diggs
- 25:49Speaker 3: is is good, you know, if not great, he's the
- 25:53Speaker 3: best receiver on your team. All these you know, I
- 25:57Speaker 3: think you could win ten. Now here's the other thing
- 25:59Speaker 3: I wanted to bring up today. How many free agents
- 26:02Speaker 3: that the Patriots signed this off.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Like sixteen fourteen.
- 26:07Speaker 3: We've said this before. When the Patriots have signed several
- 26:11Speaker 3: you know, the chances of every free agent that any
- 26:14Speaker 3: team signs in an off season, working out and doing
- 26:17Speaker 3: well and not getting hurt is very slim. Not all
- 26:21Speaker 3: fourteen of these guys are going to either finish the
- 26:25Speaker 3: season or be the guy that we hope they are.
- 26:27Speaker 3: That's just a fact. Never in the history of the
- 26:30Speaker 3: NFL has a team that signed a bunch of free
- 26:33Speaker 3: agents every one of them, you know, panned out to
- 26:36Speaker 3: be exactly what you hope they would be. So we
- 26:39Speaker 3: just got to keep that in mind. Well you have
- 26:41Speaker 3: to keep that in mind.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Well, I think too. You can look at this team
- 26:43Speaker 4: right now and I have my little depth chart right here.
- 26:46Speaker 4: I bought it for fancy.
- 26:47Speaker 6: Keeping color coded. Is it normal downstairs, Paul?
- 26:52Speaker 3: But you know, we're.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Before the draft right now, and I think the draft
- 26:55Speaker 4: is again hammer what I always hammer, Like that's where
- 26:58Speaker 4: you're really gonna I think, set your ceiling for wins
- 27:00Speaker 4: of you know, put Travis Hunter into this offense, like
- 27:02Speaker 4: you know then that makes me feel. But I think
- 27:05Speaker 4: your point about left tackle is valid and that's all
- 27:08Speaker 4: eyes on that now.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Yep.
- 27:10Speaker 6: I would say that they should be better because I
- 27:12Speaker 6: think Rabel is significantly better as a coach and the
- 27:16Speaker 6: schedule I think, I don't want to that. I think
- 27:20Speaker 6: is going to be significantly easier than it was last year.
- 27:25Speaker 6: But ten wins to me, is that's optimistic?
- 27:29Speaker 3: It is that's my ceiling. Yeah, that's my ceiling.
- 27:31Speaker 6: But it's an optimistic ceiling, is what I'm saying.
- 27:33Speaker 4: All Right, Okay, have a pessimistic ceiling, Fred.
- 27:37Speaker 6: Oh listening, pessimistic ceiling will be like six.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Well I was going to say five actually as the ceiling,
- 27:44Speaker 3: No as my oh oh, I'm sorry, pessimistic ceiling of five.
- 27:50Speaker 6: We're blowing it all out again next year.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Five is my pessimistic, pessimistic floor. Sorry, okay, my.
- 27:57Speaker 5: Optimistic I would say, I would with you on the floor.
- 28:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 28:01Speaker 6: I can't see them. I cannot see them only winning
- 28:04Speaker 6: four games.
- 28:05Speaker 3: My pessimistic ceiling is six or seven.
- 28:09Speaker 6: They're going to be better. I'm pretty confident that they'll
- 28:12Speaker 6: be better. I don't know if I'm going to say
- 28:13Speaker 6: six games better.
- 28:14Speaker 5: But I don't like making predictions until after the draft
- 28:19Speaker 5: because so much can change. But if they can get
- 28:22Speaker 5: competent left tackle play, then.
- 28:24Speaker 3: They get Travis Hunter, then I'm making for San Francisco.
- 28:28Speaker 5: But but things are operational on offense if they can
- 28:31Speaker 5: get a competent left tackle in the draft, Like if
- 28:33Speaker 5: you give Josh McDaniels these ingredients on offense and you
- 28:37Speaker 5: have a capable, you know, functional offensive line and the
- 28:40Speaker 5: weapons with Drake May, like he'll I'm not gonna say
- 28:42Speaker 5: he's gonna have a top five offense in the league,
- 28:44Speaker 5: but he'll have a respectable NFL offense with this group.
- 28:49Speaker 5: So I'm pretty optimistic about that. I just I don't
- 28:51Speaker 5: know it. We'll find out, you know, we'll find out
- 28:54Speaker 5: what Drake May is like in the clutch, We'll find
- 28:56Speaker 5: out what they if they can not beat themselves late
- 28:58Speaker 5: in games, you know, just across the board. You know,
- 29:01Speaker 5: we'll find out those types of things and that that's
- 29:03Speaker 5: gonna be what we'll decide.
- 29:04Speaker 8: That.
- 29:05Speaker 6: See what I would say with the like the ten
- 29:10Speaker 6: being optimist, you know, really high, because I think that
- 29:13Speaker 6: we automatically say, like, well, I don't remember all the opponents,
- 29:19Speaker 6: but the Tennessee's, the Vegas is who else that you know, Carolina,
- 29:25Speaker 6: the Jets, and everybody says win win, win, win win.
- 29:29Speaker 6: I say, you're one of those teams, right, so it's
- 29:31Speaker 6: win loss win loss, win loss. Last year you lost
- 29:34Speaker 6: them all. I don't expect to lose them all. I
- 29:38Speaker 6: don't expect to lose to every game that's a toss up,
- 29:43Speaker 6: And it seemed like they lost every game that was
- 29:44Speaker 6: a toss up last year. So I just look at
- 29:48Speaker 6: it as you're probably gonna split, you know, the five
- 29:52Speaker 6: or six games that everybody right now says they should
- 29:55Speaker 6: beat that. The Giants, I think is one of the opponents.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, right, Giants, R Falcons, Panthers.
- 30:01Speaker 6: Well, Falcons I think are better than them, but the Panther, Yeah,
- 30:06Speaker 6: the Steelers are better than them. The Browns, you know,
- 30:09Speaker 6: to Evan's point, we see what happens in the draft.
- 30:13Speaker 6: But I think you split those games. I don't think
- 30:15Speaker 6: you win them all. I think people that are like
- 30:18Speaker 6: talking about playoffs are just saying, well, they're gonna win
- 30:20Speaker 6: all those games. They're gonna beat Cleveland, they're gonna beat
- 30:22Speaker 6: the Raiders, they're gonna beat the Giants, they're going to
- 30:25Speaker 6: beat the If they do, then there will be a
- 30:26Speaker 6: playoff team. Then your ceiling comes true. But I don't
- 30:29Speaker 6: know how you go from where they are to that.
- 30:32Speaker 3: You got to have it, in my scenario, you got
- 30:34Speaker 3: to have one. If not two upsets. You know where
- 30:37Speaker 3: I'm saying. I know what you're saying, Paul, Like it
- 30:40Speaker 3: might be an upset to beat the Raiders.
- 30:42Speaker 6: But that's what I'm saying.
- 30:42Speaker 3: I have a lot of But I think like you
- 30:45Speaker 3: might have to beat Miami at least once in order
- 30:48Speaker 3: to get to ten. You might have to beat one
- 30:50Speaker 3: of the clearly better teams at least once in order
- 30:53Speaker 3: to get to ten, because you aren't going to be sure.
- 30:56Speaker 6: You know, they have done that in each of the
- 30:57Speaker 6: last two seasons.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Yea, But but and go fifty percent on the ones
- 31:02Speaker 3: that you should win or you know are.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Yeah, well you can't. You know, Bengals is a bad example,
- 31:08Speaker 4: which you can't beat the Bengals and then lose to
- 31:10Speaker 4: the Jags. You know like that, It's just it doesn't
- 31:12Speaker 4: add up. But those will always be those games. That
- 31:14Speaker 4: will always be that one game where the other team's
- 31:16Speaker 4: quarterback is hurt or you know, big piece out.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Yep Al from Wisconsin writes in at podcasts at Patriots
- 31:23Speaker 3: dot com. Diggs has been a diva. Diggs being a
- 31:26Speaker 3: diva doesn't matter. Fact is the room was full of
- 31:28Speaker 3: outspoken divas last year. The difference thing go. The difference
- 31:32Speaker 3: is where that I can play.
- 31:33Speaker 6: I love that email.
- 31:35Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Jack from ann Aber writes, and what implications does
- 31:40Speaker 3: the signing of Stefan Diggs have on the Patriots approach
- 31:43Speaker 3: to the upcoming draft?
- 31:45Speaker 2: Now that's my question. Did this feel a little reactionary
- 31:48Speaker 2: to you guys because Diggs was in the building. Nothing
- 31:51Speaker 2: really happened after that, and then the Giants go out
- 31:53Speaker 2: and sign quarterbacks and then it seemed like instantly, Okay,
- 31:57Speaker 2: now the deal's getting done to bring Diggs here.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I think that's what Antal.
- 32:00Speaker 6: It's a good point. I think before you were in
- 32:03Speaker 6: the majority. A lot of people believe what you just said. Alex.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I've heard that before. I think it's coincidental. I mean,
- 32:09Speaker 3: he came for the visit. They didn't sign him immediately,
- 32:11Speaker 3: but the visit was what three days ago, you know,
- 32:15Speaker 3: was the beginning.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Of the week, right last week?
- 32:17Speaker 6: Wait, the Digs visit? Yeah, when weeks it was like
- 32:20Speaker 6: I think it was like two weeks ago. It was
- 32:23Speaker 6: before the NCAA tournament.
- 32:24Speaker 2: It was last last week, like yeah, Tuesday is yeah, so.
- 32:29Speaker 3: You know they were probably working on it.
- 32:31Speaker 6: It's a constructor.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think they would have signed him
- 32:36Speaker 3: regardless of what the Giants did.
- 32:38Speaker 6: I don't see. I don't think get anything to do
- 32:40Speaker 6: with the Giants either.
- 32:41Speaker 4: But Wednesday in the nineteenth was the Dig's visit.
- 32:46Speaker 6: Okay, which today eight days ago, twelve days ago, today's.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Twenty seventh, is it?
- 32:53Speaker 6: Yeah? See, that's my problem. I mean, operating like it's
- 32:57Speaker 6: the thirtieth.
- 32:59Speaker 4: It's you're aniversary or anything coming up.
- 33:01Speaker 6: Is it no birthday?
- 33:03Speaker 5: Then I don't think it should change anything in the
- 33:06Speaker 5: draft to stance of the email.
- 33:07Speaker 6: So over a week anyway, you're borging.
- 33:11Speaker 5: Change because you have Stefan Diggs you know here, But
- 33:14Speaker 5: it's still taking changing. It's it's I hear what you're saying.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Is Travis Hunter realistically going to be there?
- 33:21Speaker 6: That's that's the theory.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Talking about.
- 33:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm saying to.
- 33:27Speaker 3: The throat doesn't change. You're saying it could change the
- 33:30Speaker 3: draft board, which is absolutely true.
- 33:32Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, yeah, I just you know.
- 33:35Speaker 5: Adam Schefter also went on yesterday on ESPN and said
- 33:39Speaker 5: that he thinks that the Browns are going to take
- 33:42Speaker 5: Abdul Carter.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Now I'm not.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Trying to throw bows, but Schefter's draft intel is like
- 33:49Speaker 5: not always h you know, one hundred percent. You know,
- 33:51Speaker 5: he's had some misses over the years in terms of
- 33:54Speaker 5: what he thinks is going to happen in the draft.
- 33:56Speaker 5: But he did sound pretty convinced about the one. You know,
- 33:58Speaker 5: I watched the clip and he sound pretty evinced about
- 34:00Speaker 5: Abdol Carter going to the Cleveland brown So if you
- 34:04Speaker 5: look at that, it just with what the Giants have
- 34:06Speaker 5: done at quarterback, and the Browns are telling you him
- 34:09Speaker 5: at least, that they're going to pass on Shador Like,
- 34:11Speaker 5: So the Browns are going to pass on Shador with
- 34:13Speaker 5: no quarterback, and then the Giants that have two veteran
- 34:16Speaker 5: quarterbacks under contract are going to draft Shadoor Like. I
- 34:19Speaker 5: just well, I don't really see that happens.
- 34:21Speaker 3: The thing you're leaving out is I think Tennessee desperately
- 34:23Speaker 3: wants to get out of number one.
- 34:25Speaker 6: I don't.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I don't think they're they're not sold on cam Ward.
- 34:28Speaker 5: I think they I think they feel pretty good about
- 34:30Speaker 5: cam Ward really yeah, And I and.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I don't know what about the report that they made
- 34:34Speaker 3: it clear to teams that they're willing to talk if
- 34:37Speaker 3: someone wants to give them a boatload, if you're sold
- 34:39Speaker 3: on a quarterback at one and you need a quarterback,
- 34:42Speaker 3: you're not moving off of that.
- 34:44Speaker 5: I think every I think we have those reports every draft.
- 34:46Speaker 3: I'm just asking you if so you believe that's just smoke.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, I mean I think a lot of things
- 34:51Speaker 5: are just smoke right now, But I don't think that
- 34:54Speaker 5: they're you know, in some dire laity.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I'm under the I'm under the my philosophy, he is,
- 35:00Speaker 3: if you're a team that needs a quarterback, there's a
- 35:02Speaker 3: quarterback there that you believe in. I want the world
- 35:05Speaker 3: to know that I believe in the quarterback, and I
- 35:07Speaker 3: want that quarterback to believe that I believe in him too,
- 35:10Speaker 3: so that when I pick him, he knows that he
- 35:12Speaker 3: has my full support.
- 35:14Speaker 6: Not there was a time where that guy was already
- 35:15Speaker 6: under contract exactly, the raft came exactly, It's not that
- 35:19Speaker 6: long ago.
- 35:19Speaker 9: But if you.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Really believe in him, then believe in them. Tell the
- 35:23Speaker 3: world you believe in them. Tell the world there is nothing.
- 35:26Speaker 5: But who knows where that report's coming from.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Okay, but I'm just saying.
- 35:28Speaker 6: Well, Berganzi said it, did he not that we're open
- 35:32Speaker 6: to talk. Didn't Boganzi say that at the combine.
- 35:35Speaker 3: By the way, I lost everyone who's listening to know
- 35:40Speaker 3: that I believe in this guy. He's our guy, and
- 35:45Speaker 3: and that's it.
- 35:46Speaker 6: No, I think they're going to take him.
- 35:48Speaker 3: I just I don't understand why you wouldn't.
- 35:50Speaker 6: I don't think they're sold. I think they've taken it
- 35:52Speaker 6: because they feel like they have to, But I don't
- 35:55Speaker 6: think they're sold on it. So I'm kind of with Fred,
- 35:57Speaker 6: but I think they're gonna end up taking cam Ward.
- 36:00Speaker 5: I just look at all the moves that all these
- 36:03Speaker 5: other teams have made, and we've been talking about this
- 36:05Speaker 5: for a while. All these other teams that are behind
- 36:07Speaker 5: the Titans are trying to run to any life raft
- 36:11Speaker 5: that is in Shador Sanders at quarterback. Like the Raiders
- 36:14Speaker 5: traded for a quarterback in Gino Smith, the Seahawks signed
- 36:17Speaker 5: Sam Darnold, the Steelers are flirting with Aaron Rodgers. The
- 36:20Speaker 5: Giants signed two veteran bridge quarterbacks, like all these teams
- 36:24Speaker 5: are just you know, the Saints brought back Derek Carr,
- 36:26Speaker 5: like they're all telling you no thanks to this quarterback,
- 36:30Speaker 5: to Shador in particular, and so maybe the Giants fall
- 36:34Speaker 5: in love with him. Maybe the Browns fall in love
- 36:36Speaker 5: with him still. But I think it's just as likely
- 36:38Speaker 5: that Shador has a slide in the draft ye as
- 36:42Speaker 5: it is that he goes too overall in this draft.
- 36:44Speaker 5: And if you're the Patriots, I think either way, if
- 36:47Speaker 5: he goes two to the Browns, I think the Giants
- 36:49Speaker 5: are going to take Travis Hunter. So it's a consolation
- 36:52Speaker 5: to me, but it's still a good pick to take
- 36:54Speaker 5: Abdul Carter. But it looks to me like all these
- 36:57Speaker 5: teams are scared to Shador, whether it's Dion, whether it's
- 37:00Speaker 5: the talent, whatever the case may be. I don't think
- 37:03Speaker 5: any of these teams are are definitely sold on Shudor
- 37:06Speaker 5: right now.
- 37:07Speaker 6: And you asked about smoke with some of these comments
- 37:09Speaker 6: that are coming out about Tennessee. I believe smoke with Schefter.
- 37:14Speaker 6: I think continuing to say that the Giants is still
- 37:17Speaker 6: interested in Sanders, I think that is to help Dean Sanders.
- 37:21Speaker 6: I think you're trying to interests. Make sure that you
- 37:25Speaker 6: know he's not sliding, he's not falling, you know who's
- 37:28Speaker 6: uh So we talked about this yesterday, you know, off air,
- 37:32Speaker 6: and you know, you get beyond the Patriots and you
- 37:34Speaker 6: get Patriots, Jags, Wis it's you know, the Jets are
- 37:39Speaker 6: a possibility there and then New Orleans I think would
- 37:42Speaker 6: be a possibility. Those are both in the top ten nine, right,
- 37:45Speaker 6: It's it's like six and nine or seven and nine
- 37:47Speaker 6: something like that. You know, Jacksonville is not going to
- 37:50Speaker 6: take you know, Sanders, but Caroline is probably not going
- 37:54Speaker 6: to take Sanders, but the Jets or the Saints could.
- 37:58Speaker 6: And I think Scheft is trying to do a solid
- 38:00Speaker 6: to a guy like Dion who there's some value in
- 38:03Speaker 6: having him as an ally. Let's face it, I don't
- 38:07Speaker 6: believe for a second that the Giants signed two veteran
- 38:10Speaker 6: quarterbacks and they're still going to take the rookie. Now,
- 38:13Speaker 6: maybe they will, and I've been wrong about a million things.
- 38:15Speaker 6: That'll be the next one.
- 38:16Speaker 4: That's an amazing room. I mean, Jameis Winston and Russell
- 38:19Speaker 4: Wilson in the same room as just comedy Gold, I
- 38:22Speaker 4: would think, I mean, content wise, they're set. I would
- 38:24Speaker 4: say the content team is like, we don't need another quarterback.
- 38:26Speaker 4: We're all good. We're gonna get everything that we need.
- 38:29Speaker 5: From the Schefter point of view, Let's also not forget
- 38:32Speaker 5: that ESPN broadcast the draft, and they have short skin
- 38:37Speaker 5: in the game to make the draft interesting, right, And
- 38:39Speaker 5: it's more inherently interesting when it's a quarterback draft than
- 38:42Speaker 5: when it's not a quarterback draft. Like last year is
- 38:44Speaker 5: a home run draft for the networks. Right, you have
- 38:47Speaker 5: three quarterbacks at the top of the draft that everybody loves,
- 38:50Speaker 5: and then you have all these other quarterbacks too that
- 38:52Speaker 5: end up going early. Like that's a jackpot of a draft.
- 38:55Speaker 5: So to say, the Giants said they still could take
- 38:58Speaker 5: sha door, like don't your TV when they're on the
- 39:01Speaker 5: clock at three?
- 39:02Speaker 3: Overall could be I would like this this year is
- 39:04Speaker 3: even more intriguing because last year Caleb Williams was he
- 39:08Speaker 3: was a bear before the draft that was done. It
- 39:10Speaker 3: was a done deal.
- 39:11Speaker 5: There's just a lot of the quarterback star power I
- 39:13Speaker 5: think is it really moves the needle when it comes
- 39:15Speaker 5: to the broadcasting stuff. And then I would also just
- 39:18Speaker 5: say that you know we all you know Fred you
- 39:20Speaker 5: always say like we always come back to the beginning, right,
- 39:23Speaker 5: like we have a take in January and you get
- 39:25Speaker 5: put into the draft machine, all these rumors and all
- 39:29Speaker 5: this smoke screens start going crazy and then by the
- 39:32Speaker 5: time April rolls back around. We're right back to where
- 39:34Speaker 5: we started. And the reporting when we started was that
- 39:38Speaker 5: Shador Sanders is not one of those types of quarterbacks.
- 39:41Speaker 5: He is not a top three draft pick in a
- 39:44Speaker 5: normal NFL draft at that position, and I just I
- 39:48Speaker 5: can't help but think that the rest of the of
- 39:50Speaker 5: the league sees that.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I'll go I'll go even further, and listen, I could
- 39:54Speaker 3: be wrong. I wasn't into it the way you and
- 39:57Speaker 3: Barth was, but I.
- 39:58Speaker 6: Thought I didn't think anybody is. Yeah, I thought on
- 40:00Speaker 6: anything I thought.
- 40:01Speaker 3: At the beginning. People even weren't talking about cam Ward
- 40:04Speaker 3: as a top pick, as I recall, they were not
- 40:07Speaker 3: at the gate, not really they were not, I.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Would say, maybe not as the number one overall pick.
- 40:11Speaker 5: But I think there was a pretty big consensus that
- 40:13Speaker 5: he would go early. I don't think necessarily it was
- 40:16Speaker 5: a lock that he was going to go one at
- 40:18Speaker 5: the time. But Shador has a lot of, you know,
- 40:22Speaker 5: evaluations all over the map, and I think most people
- 40:25Speaker 5: feel comfortable with him in that like Mac Jones, Kenny
- 40:28Speaker 5: Pickett range of like fifteen.
- 40:30Speaker 3: To twenty versus. I think if the Titans pick Ward,
- 40:32Speaker 3: it's a shotgun marriage. I really think so. I think
- 40:36Speaker 3: they're going to do with kicking and screen.
- 40:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't think I agree with you. I don't
- 40:40Speaker 6: think they want to take him, but I feel like
- 40:42Speaker 6: they probably feel like they have to.
- 40:44Speaker 3: What if What if the Panthers trade Trevor Lawrence for
- 40:48Speaker 3: a boatload and then they take Sanders the Jags, I
- 40:50Speaker 3: mean the Jags.
- 40:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't see that happening. No, who knows.
- 40:56Speaker 3: But wasn't that kind of a rumor that, oh they
- 40:58Speaker 3: look they were, you know, field calls from your building calls.
- 41:03Speaker 3: I don't remember that one calls from fielding as.
- 41:05Speaker 6: I'm not telling you that that didn't happen.
- 41:07Speaker 2: They're talking about them being open to moving Trevor Lawrence.
- 41:10Speaker 2: You don't know if it was just conversation, if it
- 41:12Speaker 2: was an actual report.
- 41:13Speaker 4: But I thought wishful thinking. You're trying to get them.
- 41:16Speaker 6: Wow, Alex is elbowing into my territory of speaking.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Fred David New Hampshire says, I hope he's excited to
- 41:22Speaker 3: get uh that Diggs is excited to light up his
- 41:25Speaker 3: old team twice a year.
- 41:26Speaker 6: Let's go. We got a guy, right which one? You
- 41:30Speaker 6: a lot of teams now.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, this is four Okay, this is this
- 41:37Speaker 3: is four five Collins A five five Pats five hundred
- 41:43Speaker 3: the aicket hot. Fine, people holding on. Let's see who
- 41:48Speaker 3: was first. We'll go with Kyle and Cali Fork.
- 41:52Speaker 6: Hey, Kyle, you haven't even had a yetdo yet?
- 41:55Speaker 3: Again? I'm thinking of one. What's up, Kyle? You're there.
- 41:58Speaker 5: You didn't click on it?
- 42:00Speaker 3: I didn't click on it. Okay, there you go, Kyle.
- 42:03Speaker 8: Do you hear me? Now?
- 42:04Speaker 3: We sure can?
- 42:07Speaker 10: Hey guys, yeah, I everyone kind of covered everything I
- 42:10Speaker 10: want to talk about. Dig comeing in the locker room. Uh,
- 42:13Speaker 10: leadership wise, I don't think he's singing songs with everyone,
- 42:17Speaker 10: but I think that's for the best.
- 42:19Speaker 8: You know, we need.
- 42:19Speaker 10: Someone that's gonna be I want to say, a bully.
- 42:22Speaker 11: But.
- 42:24Speaker 10: Get everyone motivated and start.
- 42:26Speaker 8: Contributing to the team. Uh.
- 42:29Speaker 10: The other thing I want to say is, you know,
- 42:31Speaker 10: the wide receiver room is getting crowded right now, and
- 42:35Speaker 10: I don't really see the point in going after receiver
- 42:37Speaker 10: in the second third round when the traits they have
- 42:41Speaker 10: or Kyle simmeld with.
- 42:42Speaker 8: Some of the guys we have in here.
- 42:43Speaker 12: So I just want to see if you guys think
- 42:45Speaker 12: who's on that out in that wide receiver room?
- 42:47Speaker 6: Thanks all right, thank you?
- 42:50Speaker 5: Dis Yeah, I mean they have seven guys right now
- 42:53Speaker 5: in that wide receiver room. I think Matt Collins probably
- 42:55Speaker 5: safe to say it's going to make the tea.
- 42:57Speaker 6: I mean, I think it's safe to say Polkin is too.
- 42:59Speaker 6: But my point being, I'm not so sure about that one.
- 43:02Speaker 6: Where are you getting like it's kind of a crowded room.
- 43:06Speaker 6: Don't mistake numbers with talent.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Every room is crowded.
- 43:09Speaker 5: Credit last year by train.
- 43:10Speaker 6: How many wide receivers are on the roster now, Mike
- 43:12Speaker 6: nine or ten?
- 43:13Speaker 4: It's actually nine?
- 43:13Speaker 6: Yeah, nine, I think nine receives.
- 43:15Speaker 4: Don't quite Jackson and John Giles don't.
- 43:17Speaker 6: Confuse are they don't confuse all those guys with Okay,
- 43:23Speaker 6: we're not going to take if there's a wide receiver,
- 43:25Speaker 6: you know, if my guy from Iowa State, Jayden Higgins,
- 43:29Speaker 6: they don't have that kind of a profile receiver. I
- 43:32Speaker 6: take that in a blink.
- 43:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that that's ideally. We were talking about
- 43:35Speaker 5: this on catch twenty two, just getting some size and
- 43:40Speaker 5: speed on the outside because I think Diggs is going
- 43:42Speaker 5: to be more of that movable piece and play a
- 43:44Speaker 5: little bit more in the slot than maybe he did
- 43:46Speaker 5: it early on in his career. Pop Douglas is obviously
- 43:49Speaker 5: going to be a full time slot guy when he's
- 43:52Speaker 5: on the field, So getting somebody that can really play
- 43:55Speaker 5: outside and maybe bring some speed. It's not really Jaden
- 43:58Speaker 5: Higgins in the speed department, but he certainly has the
- 44:01Speaker 5: size department.
- 44:02Speaker 6: Just to ask a very simple question, do you think
- 44:05Speaker 6: it's not possible to get a guy in the second
- 44:08Speaker 6: or third round who's better than Kaishan Boudi or Jalen
- 44:12Speaker 6: Polk or Javon Baker or Jamario Douglas.
- 44:16Speaker 5: I also just think you got to keep throwing darts right,
- 44:18Speaker 5: like you know you.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Need to get better the top one hundred darts. I
- 44:21Speaker 4: think I hear what you're saying. I don't need fourth, fifth, sixth,
- 44:25Speaker 4: seventh round flyers on wide receivers like you got plenty
- 44:27Speaker 4: of guys like in that range. No, I have those,
- 44:29Speaker 4: you know, But your point, I guess the second, third
- 44:32Speaker 4: round you love the guy.
- 44:33Speaker 6: One of the atolastics. But I'm not saying just take
- 44:35Speaker 6: one for the sake of taking one. But I trust
- 44:38Speaker 6: that the evaluations here of my guys Mike and Evan
- 44:41Speaker 6: who do you know, a lot of this work. If
- 44:44Speaker 6: if there's a guy that they like, and I remember
- 44:46Speaker 6: how they reacted last year when they took a guy,
- 44:49Speaker 6: So if there's a guy that they like and they
- 44:50Speaker 6: take him, I'm going to be excited about it. Yeah,
- 44:52Speaker 6: I think that they need an upgrade there.
- 44:53Speaker 5: There's a couple of like early day three guys that
- 44:56Speaker 5: I do think would just check boxes in terms of
- 44:59Speaker 5: the skills that they're missing, Like Dante Thornton from Tennessee,
- 45:02Speaker 5: who is just a size speed burner on the outside.
- 45:05Speaker 5: Like even though he might be a little bit raw
- 45:07Speaker 5: and it might not be like a you know, he's
- 45:09Speaker 5: probably gonna be a Kisehan Boody type in terms of production.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Like I'm not going to sit here and say he's
- 45:14Speaker 5: going to catch a hundred passes, but he might bring
- 45:16Speaker 5: a skill set to the room that they don't have
- 45:19Speaker 5: with the other guys. Is a six foot you know
- 45:22Speaker 5: plus guy that can run a four to three, Like
- 45:24Speaker 5: they don't really have that player on the team. That's
- 45:26Speaker 5: the traits, right, But if you go earlier in the draft,
- 45:29Speaker 5: you know, I think that speed is the one thing
- 45:31Speaker 5: that I'm looking for right now. Obviously ideally paired with size.
- 45:35Speaker 5: But even a guy like you know, Dus and I
- 45:37Speaker 5: both like Isaiah Bond a lot from Texas. You know,
- 45:40Speaker 5: he can really fly. Jalen Royals from Utah State, he
- 45:43Speaker 5: can really fly. You know, those guys that can really run.
- 45:46Speaker 5: I think is what they're missing because right now it's
- 45:48Speaker 5: going to be Diggs and Henry at the sticks, and
- 45:50Speaker 5: then what what's past that? Right what's over the top?
- 45:53Speaker 3: And I think you need that, Adam and Louisiana says.
- 45:57Speaker 3: I don't think the Giants front office and coach passing
- 46:00Speaker 3: Shador Sanders. They've hitched their wagon to Russell Wilson because
- 46:03Speaker 3: they know they have to win some games this year.
- 46:06Speaker 3: If they win games this year and keep their jobs,
- 46:08Speaker 3: they'll be out of contention for a top quarterback next year.
- 46:11Speaker 3: They have not been able to trade up for a
- 46:13Speaker 3: quarterback to two straight drafts, so that's probably out as well.
- 46:18Speaker 3: I don't think Wilson or Winston are viable long term options,
- 46:21Speaker 3: so they need to get a quarterback of the future
- 46:23Speaker 3: this year. They could shoot for the moon with Milroe
- 46:26Speaker 3: and try to develop him, but I think they want
- 46:28Speaker 3: the safer option that will be able to win games
- 46:31Speaker 3: sooner rather than later. So that's a good point.
- 46:34Speaker 6: Like so not to me.
- 46:36Speaker 3: You know, if they do better this year, if they
- 46:39Speaker 3: do better this year and Russell Wilson wins them seven
- 46:42Speaker 3: or eight games, then they're not gonna be in position
- 46:44Speaker 3: to get the quarterback for net.
- 46:46Speaker 6: But at least they have a job and they can
- 46:47Speaker 6: pick somebody next year. If they picture Door Sanders and
- 46:50Speaker 6: win three or four games, they're gone.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, well what if they picture Door Sanders but
- 46:56Speaker 3: he doesn't play this year, It's still.
- 46:58Speaker 6: You're not gonna win seven or eight games. You need
- 46:59Speaker 6: to get a player that's gonna help you win games.
- 47:01Speaker 3: No, I know, But but does it buy them some
- 47:04Speaker 3: life knowing we got Shad Or Sanders next year, he's gonna.
- 47:08Speaker 6: Be the only thing I would say to that is
- 47:10Speaker 6: something that you said off the air yesterday or our
- 47:12Speaker 6: conversation about maybe there's a pre existing arrangement that Mara
- 47:17Speaker 6: has talked to Dable and Shane and say, listen, I
- 47:19Speaker 6: understand we're in a tough spot. We need to find
- 47:21Speaker 6: a quarterback of the future. You guys feel some desperation,
- 47:25Speaker 6: don't worry about the desperation. You coach a good let's
- 47:29Speaker 6: put put a good product on the field, let's improve,
- 47:32Speaker 6: let's get better. And if if take Sanders as our
- 47:35Speaker 6: quarterback in the future and we don't win enough games,
- 47:37Speaker 6: that's okay, you guys will be back. I don't see
- 47:40Speaker 6: that happening, don't. I don't see a situation like that.
- 47:42Speaker 5: Well, I disagree with the point that you said that, Like,
- 47:45Speaker 5: how are they winning all these games if they don't
- 47:47Speaker 5: use their the third overall pick on the play?
- 47:49Speaker 6: Exactly? You need that player to win games, right.
- 47:51Speaker 5: You know, if he's gonna sit, if the Shaudor is
- 47:52Speaker 5: gonna sit on the bench the entire year, so that
- 47:54Speaker 5: pick is basically worthless for twenty twenty.
- 47:56Speaker 6: The Falcons us right, what are you gonna do? Dangerous?
- 47:59Speaker 5: You know, if you add Travis Hunter to that team
- 48:02Speaker 5: and he can play corner, I think probably predominantly for them,
- 48:05Speaker 5: but he can also play with Malik Neighbors a little
- 48:07Speaker 5: bit on offense. Like now, you can talk yourself into
- 48:10Speaker 5: the Giants being viable, but I don't see how they're
- 48:12Speaker 5: viable if they don't pick somebody they're at number three
- 48:14Speaker 5: that helps them this year. And maybe this quarterback class,
- 48:18Speaker 5: you know, isn't great at the top, But I do
- 48:20Speaker 5: think there are some dart throws. You mentioned Milroe Jackson,
- 48:24Speaker 5: Jackson dart will Will Howard from Ohio State that my
- 48:28Speaker 5: shuck could be Yeah, Tyler shuckche years.
- 48:32Speaker 6: Of college football.
- 48:33Speaker 5: Upside guys, right, like guys that you know, they could
- 48:36Speaker 5: be Jalen Hurts, like Milroe could be Jalen Hurts.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Do you think the Giants regret taking Neighbors last year
- 48:41Speaker 4: and not trying to take Pennix or Nixt, Like, is
- 48:43Speaker 4: that something you look back on, like, of.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Course they have to.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I wouldn't, but they might.
- 48:48Speaker 4: It's just hard. You just see how they're kind of stuck.
- 48:51Speaker 4: And I think the Patriots that worked out with Drake
- 48:53Speaker 4: May that they got the third overall pick and ye
- 48:55Speaker 4: where they were three good quarterbacks. And you see even
- 48:57Speaker 4: this year with the Patriots, it hasn't you know, we
- 48:58Speaker 4: don't know how it's gonna work out, but it's still
- 49:01Speaker 4: you see, it just has to line up right, and
- 49:03Speaker 4: they could be stuck like the point generally, like you
- 49:06Speaker 4: could just kind of be stuck in a cycle where
- 49:08Speaker 4: you know, it's like the Steelers.
- 49:09Speaker 6: And I would just say that top guy, and no,
- 49:12Speaker 6: there's no question about it with regard to the Giants,
- 49:16Speaker 6: But back to you know something, you know we talked
- 49:19Speaker 6: about that Evan talked about with the actions of all
- 49:23Speaker 6: the teams are telling you they're not they don't believe
- 49:26Speaker 6: in Sanders, right, because everybody's falling over themselves to find
- 49:30Speaker 6: some semblance of a veteran, even one with tremendous flaws
- 49:34Speaker 6: like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers. They're all trying to
- 49:37Speaker 6: find those guys rather than roll the dice on Sanders.
- 49:40Speaker 6: If the Giants were convinced that Sanders was the quarterback
- 49:44Speaker 6: of the future, they just they just would have taken them.
- 49:47Speaker 6: They wouldn't have wasted resources on two veteran quarterbacks. Maybe
- 49:51Speaker 6: they still sign Winston, but adding both of them, to me,
- 49:55Speaker 6: makes no sense if you're going to then take a
- 49:57Speaker 6: quarterback and I so let's let's go. Let's play it
- 50:01Speaker 6: out the way the emailer did you So this season unfolds,
- 50:04Speaker 6: they need a quarterback next year. I think that you
- 50:07Speaker 6: could have the same situation with what Evan said. If
- 50:10Speaker 6: you take a quarterback on day two, you still have
- 50:13Speaker 6: a guy who may or may not be the quarterback
- 50:15Speaker 6: of the future, just like you would have if you
- 50:16Speaker 6: had taken Sanders. I don't think there's really that much difference.
- 50:20Speaker 5: I think the only argument that the Giants would still
- 50:23Speaker 5: take Sanders is that they sign these quarterbacks because they
- 50:26Speaker 5: don't know what Cleveland is going to do. Right, So
- 50:28Speaker 5: if Cleveland takes Sanders, then they would be left without
- 50:31Speaker 5: a chair, right, they wouldn't have anybody to pick insurance,
- 50:34Speaker 5: it's double insurance. Basically, they have a very high premium.
- 50:38Speaker 8: Right.
- 50:38Speaker 6: I could listen to that. That's that's a fair point.
- 50:40Speaker 5: That that I think is the only argument for it.
- 50:43Speaker 5: But all the reporting and again it's it's.
- 50:47Speaker 6: That's a fair that's a fair point. I just look
- 50:49Speaker 6: at the money invested if they were interested in Sanders.
- 50:52Speaker 6: And first of all, I don't think Cleveland's going to
- 50:55Speaker 6: take a quarterback. I think their actions are telling you
- 50:57Speaker 6: they're not going to take a quarterback. I would argue
- 51:00Speaker 6: that they have a better stopgap guy already in place
- 51:03Speaker 6: than the Giants do and Kenny Pickett, And I don't
- 51:05Speaker 6: think Kenny Pickett's is the answer by any means. But
- 51:07Speaker 6: Russell Wilson is washed.
- 51:11Speaker 4: Winston too.
- 51:12Speaker 6: Jameis Winston never could play, so he's not really even
- 51:16Speaker 6: an option, and I think lunatic, and I think the
- 51:19Speaker 6: Browns are going to double down on the cashed guys
- 51:22Speaker 6: and end up with Kirk Cousins. But Cousins won't start, won't.
- 51:26Speaker 5: Sign until after the draft.
- 51:29Speaker 6: Right. Cousins said he's not going to sign until after
- 51:31Speaker 6: the draft because he doesn't want to get pennixed again.
- 51:34Speaker 6: So I don't think the Cleveland's going to take a quarterback,
- 51:37Speaker 6: and I think the Giants and the Giants are going
- 51:40Speaker 6: to have the pick of Sanders or whichever one of
- 51:45Speaker 6: Carter Hunter doesn't get taken by Cleveland.
- 51:46Speaker 5: Yeah, all I know is that the clip that's going
- 51:48Speaker 5: around of Adam Schefter last night, Matt Miller, their draft guru,
- 51:52Speaker 5: is giving the take about how what the Patriots would
- 51:55Speaker 5: do if Hunter Carter falls to them at four. You
- 51:59Speaker 5: know how great that would be for the page you
- 52:00Speaker 5: have to give that, and and Chefters on the other
- 52:03Speaker 5: side of the screen being like, Abdul Carter is not falling,
- 52:06Speaker 5: and he like was very adamant about it.
- 52:09Speaker 6: I cannot believe how many mock drafts I've seen with
- 52:11Speaker 6: Abdul Carter at four to the Patriots, and I cannot
- 52:15Speaker 6: imagine that The.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Only way that can happen is if the two quarterbacks
- 52:18Speaker 3: get taken and then.
- 52:19Speaker 6: And then someone takes Hunter over Carter. I think will
- 52:22Speaker 6: be crazy.
- 52:22Speaker 3: I think it makes us crazy.
- 52:23Speaker 6: I think I.
- 52:25Speaker 5: Think it makes a lot of sense for the Giants.
- 52:27Speaker 5: Like the Giants have Kevon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns already
- 52:30Speaker 5: on defense. They paid both those guys a lot of
- 52:32Speaker 5: money to rush the passer. They have nothing in the secondary,
- 52:36Speaker 5: and they just have Molik Neighbors on offense. So it
- 52:39Speaker 5: just from a roster construction standpoint, I think he makes
- 52:42Speaker 5: a lot more sense for the Giants than Abdul Carter. Like, now,
- 52:44Speaker 5: Abdul Carter, you got three edge rushers and nothing else.
- 52:47Speaker 6: No, I get that, But I just think he's so
- 52:49Speaker 6: much better than I don't.
- 52:51Speaker 3: I don't think it's crazy. Chris wants to know. Can
- 52:54Speaker 3: Evan explain how Hollins is a lock? He'll be thirty
- 52:57Speaker 3: two and has never really been more productive than Born.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Also doesn't have the upside that Baker has. How is
- 53:02Speaker 3: he not the odd man out?
- 53:04Speaker 5: Well, they just signed him and that doesn't always mean everything.
- 53:08Speaker 5: But when you just sign a free agent and you
- 53:10Speaker 5: give him some guaranteed money. You don't normally cut those guys.
- 53:14Speaker 6: It's extremely rare.
- 53:15Speaker 5: Unless they give you a real reason to cut them.
- 53:18Speaker 5: I think the other thing with Matt Collins is just
- 53:21Speaker 5: he's got some size, he's got some speed, he can
- 53:23Speaker 5: play on the outside, and he does the dirty work.
- 53:26Speaker 5: You know, he's gonna block, and he's gonna do all
- 53:28Speaker 5: those little things that don't show up on a box score.
- 53:32Speaker 5: And they're probably thinking he's a nice number three receiver,
- 53:36Speaker 5: maybe a number four receiver in an ideal world that
- 53:39Speaker 5: isn't gonna demand targets, that isn't going to demand attention,
- 53:43Speaker 5: and all they.
- 53:44Speaker 6: Gonna block, he's gonna play on special teams, he's gonna
- 53:46Speaker 6: do all the things that they think a yeah.
- 53:48Speaker 5: So he's gonna be that guy. He's gonna be the
- 53:51Speaker 5: utility man of that room. I just I don't see
- 53:55Speaker 5: there a way that he is not on this team
- 53:57Speaker 5: unless he goes into training camp and is completely.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Eric in Lakeville. Earlier in the week, Evan expressed his
- 54:03Speaker 3: disappointment that the Patriots didn't make the DK Metcalf trade.
- 54:07Speaker 3: Now that they've signed Diggs, I'd like to ask the panel,
- 54:10Speaker 3: would you rather have paid the price to acquire metcalf
- 54:12Speaker 3: second round pick plus that contract, or do you prefer
- 54:15Speaker 3: the dig signing.
- 54:17Speaker 5: I would rather trade for Dk Metcalf.
- 54:18Speaker 6: Metcalf I like now ideally I would say both because
- 54:23Speaker 6: they could have done both. But if you're asking me
- 54:25Speaker 6: to choose one or the other, I would have taken.
- 54:27Speaker 3: I like not having to give up the second.
- 54:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I do too. I think I'm with you. Fred.
- 54:30Speaker 2: I also just like having someone that actually wants to
- 54:33Speaker 2: come here, like and not chasing. People are very on
- 54:35Speaker 2: the record.
- 54:36Speaker 5: About not I mean, I think when going to buy.
- 54:39Speaker 4: It, huh, I will hook line were limited even I
- 54:47Speaker 4: just had a feeling about New England special plays. I'm
- 54:49Speaker 4: excited to be here.
- 54:50Speaker 6: And Mike's gonna be like I have. He couldn't have
- 54:55Speaker 6: been more wrong.
- 54:57Speaker 5: I mean, DK is better, younger, big, like yeah, like healthier.
- 55:04Speaker 5: I just h and by the way, very but I understand.
- 55:09Speaker 6: I just we're Diggs is a better player. Like Diggs's
- 55:15Speaker 6: career is better than I think Metcalf will ever be.
- 55:18Speaker 6: Diggs is going to have the better career I would.
- 55:20Speaker 6: I'm not trying to say all of a sudden, but
- 55:22Speaker 6: Diggs is close to the end of it because I know,
- 55:24Speaker 6: you know, you always make moune of me for arguing
- 55:26Speaker 6: before it happens. I know how this is going to play.
- 55:28Speaker 6: Of course, the Patriots got the guy. So now Paul
- 55:31Speaker 6: says Diggs is no, Digs is way better than Metcalf.
- 55:35Speaker 6: What Like, that's what I'm saying. His career, his prime
- 55:38Speaker 6: was better than Metcalf will be. But right now I
- 55:42Speaker 6: would take Metcalf.
- 55:43Speaker 4: But how great would they be together? I mean to
- 55:44Speaker 4: your point both, Like, I mean what you're talking about
- 55:46Speaker 4: still having that outside guy in Metcalf with the size
- 55:49Speaker 4: and the speed and drawing coverage, and then you got
- 55:51Speaker 4: Digs working underneath with whatever's leftover.
- 55:52Speaker 6: I mean, some people are saying they can't take a
- 55:54Speaker 6: wide receiver in the second round. They would make the team,
- 55:57Speaker 6: So that second round pick, you could just have a dig.
- 56:00Speaker 6: I just mean Metcalf.
- 56:01Speaker 5: I always think of it like, I think it's harder
- 56:03Speaker 5: to defend a guy like DK Metcalf at this stage
- 56:06Speaker 5: because of just the downfield ability. Like if you're a
- 56:09Speaker 5: defensive coordinator, I feel like that kind of guy keeps
- 56:13Speaker 5: you up at night a little bit longer than Stefan
- 56:14Speaker 5: Diggs at this stage of his career, like.
- 56:17Speaker 4: Especially if you blow the coverage. Yeah, just let them
- 56:19Speaker 4: wide open.
- 56:19Speaker 3: All right, We'll take a break, eat some food. When

- 58:36Speaker 16: mister Vince Wilfork, Vince, you look tremendous.
- 58:39Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 58:39Speaker 9: I think aside forty eight might do. Yeah, forty eight.
- 58:43Speaker 9: Now do you set a fifty six?
- 58:44Speaker 3: Do you?
- 58:44Speaker 16: Does it feel normal like to be more like a
- 58:47Speaker 16: normal human being as opposed to you know, one of
- 58:49Speaker 16: you played.
- 58:49Speaker 9: You know what the most amazing thing for me now
- 58:52Speaker 9: is I can go basically in if they have a
- 58:53Speaker 9: two X, I can fit it, you know. And that's
- 58:56Speaker 9: I haven't had that since I was in sixth grade,
- 59:00Speaker 9: you know. So it's a little different. But at the
- 59:02Speaker 9: same time, I feel good, my body feel good, I'm healthy,
- 59:06Speaker 9: and I've just been enjoying life.
- 59:08Speaker 16: That's last year in the Hall of Fame ceremony when
- 59:11Speaker 16: Richard went in, Bruski was there, and Bruski there was
- 59:15Speaker 16: a panel discussion and it was Ty Warren, Willie McGuinness
- 59:20Speaker 16: and Richard Seymour and Bruske goes, let me stand behind them,
- 59:24Speaker 16: and he stood behind them for a second. He goes,
- 59:26Speaker 16: nobody can see me, and he comes up in between
- 59:29Speaker 16: me goes, what do you think it was like playing
- 59:31Speaker 16: linebacker when these guys were here? Yes, you guys did
- 59:34Speaker 16: all the work. Rabel, Bruceki, etc. They just s you,
- 59:38Speaker 16: they cleaned up. Thanks for what you guys did.
- 59:40Speaker 9: Yeah, we you know. And this is two gapping isn't fun.
- 59:46Speaker 9: I means you have to be a man to be
- 59:49Speaker 9: able too gap and if you really want to see
- 59:54Speaker 9: what type of players you have and how tough and
- 59:56Speaker 9: if you have some dogs or that make them two gap.
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: Because I remember talking with Randy Moss before and I
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: was explaining him about two gap, between two gap and
- 1:00:05Speaker 9: then four to three penning trading. I said, listen, Randy,
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: I can put you in the nine technique, in the
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: one gap, and you can get the job done. Who
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: you are right there, You can get the job done.
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: You don't have to touch nobody. You could just run
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: up feel and you just try to find the ball.
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: You can do that, I say, But if I put
- 1:00:22Speaker 9: you in the five where you got to put hands
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: on somebody control two gaps, that changes. So I say, yeah,
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: a lot of guys get a lot of credit and
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: a lot of recognition of these quarterback sacks and just
- 1:00:34Speaker 9: running the field. I say, but what we did, it
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: takes a real man to do that, and not only
- 1:00:40Speaker 9: once you talking about for sixty minutes, You talking about
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: for a season, and you talk about for a career.
- 1:00:47Speaker 9: So time and time and time and time. We don't
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: get no plays off. If it's a pass play, we rushing,
- 1:00:56Speaker 9: we banging their heads, run play, we fighting, doubles, triple
- 1:00:59Speaker 9: we butting head. If you one gaping, you can run
- 1:01:02Speaker 9: on the air and don't have to touch her soul.
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: You know, if you one gap him, if if God
- 1:01:08Speaker 9: meant misses their block with you, you scott free. You
- 1:01:11Speaker 9: only got that one gap to worry about. But if
- 1:01:13Speaker 9: you telling me you can't run around this guy, you
- 1:01:16Speaker 9: got to go through him. You gotta control this. You
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: got to knock him back. And you got these two
- 1:01:20Speaker 9: gaps day in and day out. That's defense?
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: What and but what's sexier?
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: And what?
- 1:01:28Speaker 17: We know?
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: What? What?
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: What are the guys look at?
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: You know? Paid ever any resentment?
- 1:01:34Speaker 12: Mean?
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: Did you guys ever go to Bill and just say hey,
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: you know, just hey, we got the lead here, you know,
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: turn the sluice a little bit here.
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: No, Bill done it good? He you know what, Bill
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: used to give us some bones here, and we got
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: to a point where Bill trusted us enough, you know,
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: and Bill knew what he had. Bill knew he had
- 1:01:51Speaker 9: three first rounds, basically for a first rounder with Jarvis
- 1:01:54Speaker 9: yes up there, that we can control the game. Once
- 1:01:57Speaker 9: we get to a level in the game, he can
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: let us lose and he can give us a bomb.
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: We had some plays where he'll call just for us,
- 1:02:04Speaker 9: just to get us exciting, you know. So I wouldn't
- 1:02:07Speaker 9: never say Bill never, you know, didn't unleash us.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: He have.
- 1:02:11Speaker 9: And it was games where Bill come in there and say,
- 1:02:13Speaker 9: straight up, listen, this game gonna be one up front.
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: If y'all can't win, we lose. He told us straight up,
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: if you guys can't do this, we lose. He wasn't
- 1:02:22Speaker 9: nothing about Tom, he wasn't nothing about no office, He
- 1:02:25Speaker 9: wasn't nothing about scoring points. He told us straight up,
- 1:02:28Speaker 9: if you three can't do this, we won't win.
- 1:02:31Speaker 16: Well, I've got one that's probably gonna come up on Saturday.
- 1:02:34Speaker 16: And only because I was talking to him and it
- 1:02:35Speaker 16: was a timate of yours and Devin told me that
- 1:02:39Speaker 16: you said before the ravens AFC Championship game. It wasn't
- 1:02:43Speaker 16: Bill saying it, He said you said it, And you said, guys,
- 1:02:47Speaker 16: this one's on us. The front seven, we got the
- 1:02:50Speaker 16: run covered. Yeah, it was Cedric Maxwell. Jump on my back,
- 1:02:53Speaker 16: he said, jump on my back. I'm gonna take care
- 1:02:56Speaker 16: of you guys. And he said the next day after
- 1:02:58Speaker 16: the win, that Bill was in the auditorium going over
- 1:03:02Speaker 16: the tape and he looks and he just circled. He goes,
- 1:03:05Speaker 16: this is a dominating performance twenty eleven. As to Championship
- 1:03:10Speaker 16: Game eleven, tackles a couple of sacks. I mean, that's
- 1:03:14Speaker 16: that's putting your money where your mouth is. Do you
- 1:03:16Speaker 16: think of that when you look back at your career, Vince,
- 1:03:18Speaker 16: as one of your best games.
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: Absolutely, And I like that game because of what it
- 1:03:23Speaker 9: meant for us. You know, we was coming up against
- 1:03:29Speaker 9: a team that we always is a grind. We knew
- 1:03:33Speaker 9: it was going to be physical. We knew they wasn't
- 1:03:35Speaker 9: going to lay down they We knew that they was
- 1:03:38Speaker 9: gonna match whatever we put on the field. But in
- 1:03:41Speaker 9: my mindset, it was like, listen, we better than them.
- 1:03:45Speaker 9: This is our home turf, and we got assured playing
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: and simple, it's nothing else to talk about. So I
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: knew going into what it meant, and I knew how
- 1:03:54Speaker 9: much the team looked up to me, and they listen
- 1:03:58Speaker 9: when I speak. So I had to always be careful
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: of what I say when I say things, because I
- 1:04:05Speaker 9: know they're gonna they're gonna take what I said, and
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: this is how it's gonna be. But I knew that game.
- 1:04:11Speaker 9: I'm like, listen here, they're not gonna beat us, because
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: we're gonna win. Up front, we don't want, we don't
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: want you guys back there worrying about to run. And
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: we got this. I don't care if it's seven in
- 1:04:20Speaker 9: the box or six in the box, because it was
- 1:04:22Speaker 9: times where we had six men in the biy and
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: we used to call it big. Bill, tell us, you
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: guys have to play big. We won short, okay, Coach,
- 1:04:30Speaker 9: not a problem. If that's the game plan, we would
- 1:04:32Speaker 9: do that. And I just knew how important that game
- 1:04:36Speaker 9: was for us as an organization, as a patriot, for
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: our fans, and being in front of our crowd, you know.
- 1:04:46Speaker 9: And I always looked over there too. They had ed reed,
- 1:04:49Speaker 9: they had you know, Ray Lewis, they had a Loanada,
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: they had a squad. So I'm saying it's us versus y'all.
- 1:05:01Speaker 9: I don't care what you do offensively, Tom, I really
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: don't care. It's us versus Ray and his defense period
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: and what happened.
- 1:05:10Speaker 6: Right, So when you go, you know, Randy Shannon told
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: you you're going to be the first to win a ring.
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: You win it as a rookie.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Oh, this is.
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: Easy, And they say this with all the respects, and
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: I don't want to come off as a spoiled little Bostonian.
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: Who Oh I had to wait ten years before I
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: got another typle? How was that ten years? Like from
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: four to fourteen?
- 1:05:33Speaker 9: You said it, Yeah, because that's the first thing I said.
- 1:05:35Speaker 9: I win it my first year. Because you got to
- 1:05:37Speaker 9: realize when I get down the University of Miami my
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: first year, we win it, right, we win it. The
- 1:05:42Speaker 9: next year we go back Ohio State, we lost that.
- 1:05:46Speaker 9: We all know what that is. So here I am,
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: my first year in the league as a rookie. I
- 1:05:50Speaker 9: win another one. So to me winning easy And guess
- 1:05:53Speaker 9: what I've lost? What three game? Four game in college?
- 1:05:56Speaker 9: So it's like I'm used to winning. It's going to
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: happen all the time. Year one go by, we don't
- 1:06:02Speaker 9: make it. Your two go by, we don't make it
- 1:06:05Speaker 9: your three we go by. So now I'm scratching my hair.
- 1:06:07Speaker 9: I'm like, man, jeez, I thought that's gonna be easy,
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: you know. So you start appreciate what you've done and
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: what you've accomplished, and how hard it.
- 1:06:16Speaker 16: Is to win because the other guys you're getting paid too.
- 1:06:18Speaker 9: Yeah, so it's like, okay, it ain't that easy, you know.
- 1:06:21Speaker 9: So I had to humble myself, like Okay, this don't
- 1:06:23Speaker 9: come by all the time like that. So that's why
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: what I would say to the Patriots fans is this,
- 1:06:29Speaker 9: for two decades, we ran the NFL. Nobody would never
- 1:06:33Speaker 9: see this again while we're living. I truly believe that
- 1:06:38Speaker 9: we ran it. We need to appreciate what's been done
- 1:06:44Speaker 9: and how it's how it was done over these past
- 1:06:47Speaker 9: two decades.
- 1:06:49Speaker 16: Can you now that?
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: And now great moments history?
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: I don't know about that.
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: I have to disagree respectfull.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Uh Tom from Connecticut rites and do you think the
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Patriots o line was overrated the last few years? It
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: was just average, but was being helped greatly by Brady.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Just curious on your thoughts.
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: I do think Brady Brady greatly helped the offensive line.
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: Sure, quick throws, quick throws.
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: His presence allows you to run the ball. I think
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: there's a lot of a lot of ways that I
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: think Brady positively impacted the offense, but I also think
- 1:07:35Speaker 6: people are sleeping a lot on the offensive line. It
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: was just, I mean, other than you.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Can't you can't compliment Brady, Mike's got to come in.
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: I god forbid.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: That's another great moment.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: All right back here eight five to five Pats five

- 1:08:38Speaker 3: Who relies on consumer reports? Do you guys read consumer reports?
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: No?
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: Not directly. But I think if you hear a review
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: and something tested favorably for consumer reports, then I take
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: that as a positive. You do.
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: I do as well, But I use Fred as my
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: consumer reports as Fred does do a lot of research
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: on a lot of different things, and I trust them and.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Fred, and then if it's just that Costco, it's probably
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: good too.
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: I got to Costco whole store.
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: Anything.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: My mattresses is absolutely from Costco. Came in a.
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: Box fair enough, pop out one of those, can't.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: Get it back in.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: So it's a memory phone.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: It's I don't know it's it's actually there's a lot
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: of firmness in it. I don't like memory, so.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: How does it squish? Then? If it's not memory, that's.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: A great question. I'd love to see. Go to the
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: factory see how they do it. Vacuum seal. They like
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: roll it up really.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Tightly and I know, but you can't. You can't roll
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: up like a coil. Well, it's nice a spring. Yeah,
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: I'm wondering, what's it? What's it?
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Look into?
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Open?
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: You should know what's in your match?
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: See that little boy all over the.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: Dock shot it's like two different covers.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Sorry, I'm still gonna watch Jazz. By the way, she's
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: you know, I watch I.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: Don't buy his party, watched Interest or.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Paul did watch Interstellar. So I have to keep up.
- 1:09:59Speaker 6: Three hours to a long movie. And you like that
- 1:10:02Speaker 6: it was good? It was good.
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: I like you're saying, Jaws isn't a long movie.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: Well, if you don't want buy the Summer, it's coming
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: back out in theaters in August, and now you're gonna
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: be forced to go.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Us is coming back remastered, will be in it, right,
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: and it'll look like a real shark.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Mechanical.
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: Your nose jogs. Oh no, a great movie, all right?
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Great, they're going to add the deleted scenes to this.
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: Oh yeah, they're ad Alice getting chopped out like an
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: extended cut.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: Just to let everyone know. Evans is about thirty four
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: seconds away from a backhand.
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: I'd love to see it. I just love to tease
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: you guys.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: You're in the corner now, you're jows hater guy, and
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: that's where you'll stay.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, Tony writes in Chances that Dig starts the
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: season on p Up. This would give the Patriots four
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: more weeks to decide if they should give up on Baker.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Or even Poke, maybe even trade Born. It would suck
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: to not have may build chemistry with Digs from the
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: get go, but it would ensure hopefully that Digs is
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: one hundred percent ready to go and gives him more
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: time to strengthen his knee and make it less likely
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: to reaggravate the injury.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: I was just saying, now, I'm not optimistic that Javon
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: Baker is going to be able to take the team
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: this year. I mean, with Josh McDaniel's offense and what's required.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Unless Javon Baker has turned over a new leaf, which
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: maybe he has, I think will know pretty quick.
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: You're not buying those tidbits from the combine from the
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: various reporters.
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: I'm not buying. I do think he's talented. I mean,
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: I buy that they think he's a very talented wide receiver.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: I just I have a feeling that the mental load
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: is going to increase a little bit with Josh McDaniels
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: and his expectations and his experience as an offensive coordinator.
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: I think it'll be a little bit harder on these
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: offensive receivers.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: So I see, not too hard.
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: I definitely think that because it'd be.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: A mistake to think that you can do what you
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: did when Brady was here.
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: Now I hear what you're saying, and I mean we
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: got into a little bit of that last show, I think,
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: but I still think that Josh's experience I did like
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: two things in their friend I gotta ask those Yeah,
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: but Josh's experience would just be more demanding of them,
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: regardless of how much the offense is asking them to process.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: That's where I think it'll Jesus hard. Would you get
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: your own out of us?
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: So I want to work something because earlier in the
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: show we were talking about some random things with the
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: wide receivers and you had like kind of a throwaway
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: line that resonated with me about Polk Jalen Polk, Yeah,
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: because I had I sort of look at him as
- 1:12:32Speaker 6: a second year's second round guy. He's going to get
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: one more chance at minimum, And you were like, I'm
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: not so sure about Polk.
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: I would say that that's the most likely scenario, but
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: it's not playing for able second round pick, you know,
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: like he didn't make the pick, and so if they
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: get into camp and he's not one of the best
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: receivers on the roster, and I think that when you
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: change your zeems, you know, kind of go. And I
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: know Wolf is still here, but for all intents and purposes,
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: it's a it's a different.
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: Do you think I didn't pick him?
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: Do you think Rabel's going to have Ryan Cowden in
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: one air and Elliott Wolf in the other air when
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: it comes to personnel evaluations on the existing on his
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: own team?
- 1:13:13Speaker 6: Not?
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: You know?
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: Yeah, But I don't think in a bad way. I
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: think that's what you want as a head coach. You
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: want to hear different opinions, and I think you want
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: to have a guy like Ryan County trusts and Elliott
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: Wolf has a really good experience too. I think his
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: opinion is valid regardless of what happened last year with
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: some of the picks that he made. So I think
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: that's what you want.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: You know. Uh, Tim's in Seattle on the hotline. What's up? Tim?
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: Hey?
- 1:13:38Speaker 18: Can you guys hear me?
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:13:42Speaker 18: So I kind of agree with with Evan here. I
- 1:13:45Speaker 18: don't think the Giants are going to take a quarterback.
- 1:13:48Speaker 18: I've seen some comparisons of Sugar standards to like Andy
- 1:13:52Speaker 18: Dalton or Kirk Cousins, and I just don't Stephen need
- 1:13:55Speaker 18: to pick that player. At three, I think they can
- 1:13:58Speaker 18: pick Travis Hunter and you know, either set it and
- 1:14:02Speaker 18: forget it at wide receiver or have a cornerback of
- 1:14:05Speaker 18: the future. So you know, it's kind of interesting. I
- 1:14:08Speaker 18: think the draft is really going to start at four
- 1:14:11Speaker 18: with the Patriots, and I am really curious to see
- 1:14:15Speaker 18: what they do. You know, in my opinion, if they
- 1:14:17Speaker 18: do have the ability to trade back and land a
- 1:14:22Speaker 18: Connery or an Ursery and you know, trade up and
- 1:14:28Speaker 18: get a wide receiver, I think that's their best option here.
- 1:14:33Speaker 18: But I think going for the true left tackle instead
- 1:14:36Speaker 18: of trying to make it fit with a Memboo or
- 1:14:41Speaker 18: take a chance on Campbell, you know who we're not
- 1:14:44Speaker 18: even really sure if he's a tackle, could be a guard.
- 1:14:48Speaker 18: I think that's their best bet.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: I'll leave it at that, Okay. I don't know about
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: to set it and forget it with Travis Hunter receiver.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: I think there's some development that needs to happen there,
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: and it's a little bit projection. I would say, you're
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: working with a great piece of clay, of course.
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: But I love I mean, now that you have digs,
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: it's not as urgent, you know, like you can experiment
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: with him. See how he looks in the spring. All
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: that's so, Like, I'm intrigued if you if you pick Hunter,
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: no question, just just what you can do with that.
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: It's got all the tools. But I just don't want
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: to get ahead of it ourselves. Like let's be let's
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: be honest. This guy what he was. He was a
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: cornerback who played a little wide receiver. He was dominant,
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: but playing NFL wide receiver is a whole different ballgame.
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: He's got all the skill to do it. But let's
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: let's let's let's let's let him do it before we
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: just say, oh, no, no problem.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: He's gonna number forget is a little what does it
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: look like?
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: Where does he play?
- 1:15:40Speaker 8: Number one?
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: Huh? He's a number one receiver.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: You think he'd be better than Diggs?
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: Yes, Immed? Really yeah?
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: And based on what I mean, DAGs.
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: Is thirty two years old, Like he's not the guy
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: that he was five years ago. I just Travis Hunter
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: to me, like, look, he's not a technician, Like, he's
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: not a route running technician. He's a playmaker. He's an
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: athlete at the position. It's you know, there's a lot
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: of guys that are just that too. You know, not
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: everybody is is this you know, route running savant, Like
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: a lot of guys just went on pure athleticism, Like
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: I think a J. Brown is one.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: So are you are you saying that on day one
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Travis Hunter comes into the league as a fifty to
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: fifty receiver, one of those guys.
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: What you like a jump ball receiver?
- 1:16:23Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: No, So how's he going to get open if he
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: doesn't run routes?
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: Because it's not what I mean by run good routes
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: is he's not a technician, Like he's not like a
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: Lad McConkey, right, Like he's not somebody that has great technique,
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: but he's somebody that's extremely fast and explosive and just
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: raw athleticism is just better than a lot of other
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: people that he goes up against. I think that, you know,
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: if he was in last year's draft with Harrison and Neighbors,
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: I think we'd have be having real conversations about whether
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: or not he's the best receiver in the draft with
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: those two in the draft, like he, I think he
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: gets a little bit under sold as a wide receiver
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: because that he's played more corner in his college career
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: than he's played at wide.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: But but if and I'm just asking, if you think
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: that his advantage right now is his athleticism, it's not
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: his skill as a wide receiver. Doesn't that get diminished
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: in the NFL because now he's going up against the
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: best guys in college.
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: I guess I just put it in.
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: His career in college where he wasn't going up against
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: the best guys.
- 1:17:24Speaker 6: I hear you.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: I think I just put it in two different buckets.
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: Like I think there's there's technicians and then there's guys
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: that just win as raw athletes, Like I think Jamar
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: Chase is just a raw athlete. Like I don't think
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: you just watch Jamar Chase and say, you know, like
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: we were talking about earlier with Diggs running out routes
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: like that's teach tape on an out road. No, he's
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: just bigger, faster, stronger than the guys that he goes
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: up against. He's just a better athlete than people. AJ Brown,
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: I think it's the same thing we were talking about
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: DK Metcalf, Like, same thing. I just think that there
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: are different types of receivers, you know, like Metcalf or
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: Travis Hunter is not.
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: He's not bigger, faster, than the guys he's going up again,
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: he's more explosive.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: He's definitely faster, you know, and he's he's twitchy and
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: he's sudden with his movements.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: I just think that it's different types. Like, you know,
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: is he a lad McConkie Keenan Allen, you know that
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: type of receiver. No, he's He's a raw, explosiveness type
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: of receiver.
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, I hope you're right.
- 1:18:19Speaker 6: I would also just say that he has elite ball skills,
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: and I think that is skip that's.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: Ability, okay, right hands, Yeah, but.
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: Ball skills like plays on the ball in the air. Yeah,
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: it's not tracking, just like you're gonna throw in the ball,
- 1:18:31Speaker 6: he's going to catch it every time. Again, throwing right
- 1:18:34Speaker 6: to him to catch it, he goes and gets it, yeah.
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: Or his yards after the catch ability, Like this is
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: a guy that when you hit him, you know, on
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: a crossing route going over the middle of the field,
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: he can turn a twelve yard target into a fifty
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: yard touchdown like that. You know, those types of guys
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: are are just they're different. You know, Travis Hunter, I
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: think his comps are much more of that type of
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: player than you know, copping him to somebody that's like
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: a great route runner. And I think that those are
- 1:18:59Speaker 5: just two different things.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: Okay, Eldred in North Carolina, Hey, Aldred, Hey Ala, say fellows,
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: how y'all doing all right?
- 1:19:07Speaker 6: Big day for you, Eldred?
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: Big day?
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: Yep it is.
- 1:19:11Speaker 11: But uh, Evan, yes, sir, like I try, I tell
- 1:19:15Speaker 11: you yesterday, you're underselling Dunte thought ak Milton about it.
- 1:19:19Speaker 11: That was his deep threat. Now the guy's good on
- 1:19:21Speaker 11: three routes and he all goes through to get man
- 1:19:24Speaker 11: pressed and he runs with it. His weakness is safety
- 1:19:27Speaker 11: over top. Other than that, he tracked the ball well
- 1:19:30Speaker 11: and he got speed. He runs by everybody. But so
- 1:19:33Speaker 11: play this one game I played yesterday, and Evan, I
- 1:19:36Speaker 11: love you. Bart answers on you. What the fellas gotta say?
- 1:19:40Speaker 11: If Hunter is sitting there at four Dallas come up
- 1:19:45Speaker 11: to you, well, they give you this number, this number one,
- 1:19:49Speaker 11: they number two, next year one, next year three? Would
- 1:19:53Speaker 11: you trade that pick and they want Hunter?
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:19:55Speaker 6: Would yes?
- 1:19:56Speaker 8: Yes?
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: Take it off the air, all right, take it off
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: the air.
- 1:19:59Speaker 6: Three for three picks and the pick swap. Yes, yes,
- 1:20:02Speaker 6: of course I would do that.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: Yeah, no hesitation, that's a franchise altering hall of drugs,
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: no hesitation.
- 1:20:11Speaker 6: I just was a little disappointed that I thought Elder
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: would be a little bit more excited about Stefan Dicks.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: Oh, what's today's big day?
- 1:20:17Speaker 19: Was?
- 1:20:17Speaker 6: He signed a wide receiver? That's all I ever want today? Right?
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: Was a little type. He's d like, he's like the
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: big but he.
- 1:20:25Speaker 6: Loves wide receivers. I'm a little disappointed he didn't seemed
- 1:20:30Speaker 6: I thought it would be satisfy everybody four hours, come down.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: Sean and Vancouver. Hey, Sean, uh Fred.
- 1:20:39Speaker 20: I have two things. So first, Paul, I completely agree
- 1:20:43Speaker 20: with you about Digg. I'm concerned about the injury. And
- 1:20:48Speaker 20: diva is so subjective because there's so many different types.
- 1:20:52Speaker 20: And we know, yeah, he's gonna go on the sideline
- 1:20:54Speaker 20: and he's gonna be in Drakeney's space about wanting the ball,
- 1:20:58Speaker 20: but Drake may will be back with him when as
- 1:21:00Speaker 20: soon as he drops and say you want the ball,
- 1:21:02Speaker 20: catch it. So that's one type of diva. But you know,
- 1:21:05Speaker 20: we don't want the divas who aren't going to practice,
- 1:21:08Speaker 20: who are going to take plays off, wh aren't going
- 1:21:09Speaker 20: to block.
- 1:21:10Speaker 6: I think lack of effort diva is different than emotional,
- 1:21:15Speaker 6: you know, passionate diva.
- 1:21:16Speaker 20: I agree, Yeah, we want the passion, so that's that'll
- 1:21:19Speaker 20: be good. The other thing, do you're completely about the
- 1:21:23Speaker 20: defense and I love that. And you said that you
- 1:21:26Speaker 20: have your depth chart already, so I'd love to hear
- 1:21:29Speaker 20: what you think the starting seven will be uh for
- 1:21:33Speaker 20: the Patriots defense, and I'll take it off there.
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: Thanks, all right, thanks Sean Well.
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: I think the four free agents are going to be
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: the front I mean Landry Tonga, Williams, Chasing, I mean
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: bar More. I'm talking about like a base defense, like
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: a four to two five kind of Nickel Bentley and Splain.
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: I kind of like those two together, big physical guy,
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: little guy to run around and make plays. And then
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: really it's just a quiet I mean Davis Gonzalez obviously
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: in the outside. Really just a question of who's your
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: slot receive and who's your third safety. That's where I
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: that's where I think the question is right now, how
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: do they want to play? Do they want to continue
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: to play with these three safety looks? Or do they
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: want to get back to a pure slot corner. But
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: I otherwise I would say that's your guy, and I'd
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: just love to have. We talked about the front seven
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: before this. Love to have that third rotational defensive end
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: pass rusher type stud rookie kid come in. Who can
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: you know, not have to jump right in because you've
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: got Chase on and Landry, but you have a third
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: guy to go to and bring you some juice in
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: on third down, Bring him in, bring you know, you
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: gotta love the pass rush package. I think there's a
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: lot there to work with Williams and Barmore and if
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: you just get one of those guys on the edge
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: that can really tear around the corner, they could be
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: cooking with something.
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I would like to think that maybe Tonga could
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: be pushed by a rookie sure, you know, with this
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: class especially, but I agree with you as if it
- 1:22:51Speaker 5: were to be today, then that would probably be the
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: starting front seven. Maybe, you know, Tonga gets pushed by
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: by somebody that can play the nose tackle on a
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: little higher level.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: Probably find somebody like that's. Yeah, it seems like a
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: hard position to locate, as you do like the big
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: boards and the mock drafts and all that stuff is
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: like who's their guy, who's their big fatty? In the
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: fourth round, you know who is that.
- 1:23:10Speaker 6: One and right?
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: Because they're they're probably not going to play like a
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: natural head up nose tackle either. It's probably going to
- 1:23:16Speaker 5: be shaded into the A gap. So like, do they
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: still want it to be penetrating or do they want
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: a space eater? Like those things are going to matter
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: to you know, Dion Walker is going to just eat
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: up blocks, right, Like, is that what you're looking for?
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: Or are you looking for you know, CJ. West who
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: can get up the field a little bit more? Like,
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: I think that's tough to say until we see them
- 1:23:33Speaker 5: make a pick there.
- 1:23:34Speaker 6: So who was your four Williams with.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: The front I mean I had. I mean, I guess
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: you could say Barmore or Tonga, but Williams. Let's say Williams.
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: Okay, all right, will Andrey.
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: And Chase On on the outside, then Bentley and Spilling.
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: Yeah, you don't think Keon White will be one of
- 1:23:50Speaker 6: those guys? No, I don't think chasea On will be
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: one of those guys. I think chasea will be in
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: your pass rush package.
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think you could be right about that.
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: I don't know, I think I think I.
- 1:24:01Speaker 6: Don't think he's a full time player in.
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: Your past Russ package.
- 1:24:04Speaker 6: I don't like that. I think Chase On has the
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: ability to get after the passer key On White has
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: the ability to disrupt the pocket, you know, but not
- 1:24:12Speaker 6: necessarily a dynamic pass rusher, Whereas on third down, I
- 1:24:15Speaker 6: want Chase On coming off the edge, screaming off the edge.
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: I mean, I've never I've never been high on White.
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: See I have been play very high on Chase On
- 1:24:23Speaker 6: and Imson. I'm envisioning like my my draft promise coming
- 1:24:28Speaker 6: coming through, like I loved him coming out, and I've
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: been so wrong. I don't think it's I don't think it's.
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: A slam dunk with him. But where we stand right now,
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: before the draft and before anyone else signs, I just
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: I don't like the idea four three defensive end going
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: against tackles every time. He's going to have to really
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: improve and change some of his stuff.
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: I do wonder does Rabel kind of try to take
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: Kean White under his rent wing a little bit and
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: try to coach him up on some of the things
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: that he claimed that he wasn't getting coached up on
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: last year, and and how does make him a better player.
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: But I'm with you. I think Williams further that he
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: is away from the ball the worst that Keon White
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: is right when he gets outside the tackle and he's
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: rushing on tackles. He said in himself, like or not
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: saying anything that he hasn't already. I always use that,
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: you know, he said, Yeah, he literally said it himself,
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: that he's not as good out there now. Terrell william
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: is another good shot. Like, he's supposedly a fantastic defensive
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: line coach, one of the best in the league. So
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: maybe the two of them can put their heads together
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: and get the most out of play.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: A little Patriots March Madness trivia ready? Question one, Which
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: former Patriot player was the first Golden Eagle in school
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: history to play both football and basketball?
- 1:25:41Speaker 6: Former Patriot player was the first Golden Eagle to play football?
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: Man, that's Minnesota, their Gophers. Who the Golden Eagle?
- 1:25:50Speaker 6: Oh? I thought he was talking about a BC player.
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: No, Oh, that's Jamie.
- 1:25:56Speaker 6: Did Jamie Collins play?
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: No, Well, that's not the answer. Hint Won almost entirely
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: a bench player. He totaled seventy two points and forty
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: eight rebounds in his short collegiate career. That's that's tough.
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: Hint two. His powerful physique allowed him to play power
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: forward at the height of just six to two. No,
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: this versatile one time All Pro I don't settled into
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: the linebacker position at the NFL level, but at times
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: he took snaps as both a defensive lineman and defensive
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: back with his nimble two hundred and seventy pound frame.
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: Sam hunt a Dahlias Thomas with some hoops.
- 1:26:36Speaker 6: Wait, like, what's the Golden Eagles Marquette? Okay, Dalis Thomas
- 1:26:43Speaker 6: went to Marquette.
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: I don't know about that.
- 1:26:45Speaker 7: I'm saying it's the Marquete Golden Eagles.
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: Oh, I don't know.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: That was great When we get trivia questions, where were.
- 1:26:51Speaker 6: I don't think.
- 1:26:52Speaker 5: I don't think Thomas went to Southern Miss.
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: Southern Miss. That could be the goal.
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: That's what I was thinking. Jamie Collins didn't he go
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: to Southern Miss. He did, Okay, so that's what I
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: was thinking.
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: Eagles, they are the Golden Eagles.
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: Are the Golden Eagles? Okay? Random, so not a total disaster.
- 1:27:06Speaker 6: Which a good question. I had no idea you played basketball.
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: Which former Patriots players college basketball team played in the
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: NCAA Tournament each of his two seasons. Oh, this is tough.
- 1:27:20Speaker 6: Couldn't that be a million?
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: It could be a million people, right? His team lost
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: by one point to Memphis in the seven Sweet sixteen. Paul,
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: that should be a giveaway.
- 1:27:29Speaker 6: Yeah, no, no, I have committed to memory the Sweet
- 1:27:32Speaker 6: sixteen from seven?
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: Why don't you sorry? In the five six season, he
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: became the first Aggie to let her in both football
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: and basketball since nineteen sixty nine.
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: So Texas A and.
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: M but not Ty Warren that he's a Texas A.
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: And Finally, while this Patriots super Bowl winner, author and
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: generally imaginative mind had a short and productive stint with
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: the Patriots, his older brother, Yes, Marty Bennett. Marty Bennett.
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: Final question.
- 1:28:06Speaker 6: I wouldn't have gotten it from that one either. Those
- 1:28:07Speaker 6: are good questions.
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: Which near Patriot player averaged twenty six point eight minutes,
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: ten point three points, and six point seven rebounds per
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: game in senior his senior year in college? Oh this
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: is this isn't? This isn't. I would never get this
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: familiar Patriot?
- 1:28:24Speaker 6: Yeah, how does what?
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: How doesn't even know what that means?
- 1:28:27Speaker 6: Larry Fitzgerald, He's the nearest Patriot.
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: The answer is Cedric Lang.
- 1:28:32Speaker 6: I've never even heard that name. Yeah, I thought for
- 1:28:40Speaker 6: sure we were going to get I thought we were
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: going to get a like a Roosevelt Covin, Miles Covin. Thank. Oh, right,
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: Rosie's sun is a good player for Purdue.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Other other fun facts, Drake May's brother Luke May won
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: a national title with North Carolina.
- 1:28:55Speaker 5: We might see that Chris Hogan played lacrosse, you know, like, yes,
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: we all are aware.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: And the following Patriots were high school basketball standouts. Mikeahsicki,
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: Willie McGinnis, Randy Moss, Ron Grikowski, Kyle dug Or, Drake May,
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: Julian Edelman, West Welcome, Matt Castle, Drew Bledsoe, and Ty Law.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: I don't know you played hoops.
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: Yeah, Kyle Duggar is actually really good at basketball. Gasiki
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: also really good at basketball. I think the rest of
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: those guys were surviving on pure athleticisms.
- 1:29:24Speaker 6: JJ Watts basketball tape. It's amazing powering through guys.
- 1:29:29Speaker 5: Drake May. Drake May's got a jump shot like. Drake
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: May's got skill like he can shoot threes and handle
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: the ball a little bit. But yes, Luke May very
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: famous North Carolina targ go in.
- 1:29:40Speaker 6: The locker room next year, go over to the defensive
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: backs and ask them all if they thought they could
- 1:29:46Speaker 6: have played in the NBA.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: They all think they can.
- 1:29:48Speaker 6: They all think they can.
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: I don't think he can.
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: I would actually.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: Say, whenever we asked them for like static cams, what
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: would you be doing if you were in an NFL player,
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: I'd say fifty of them in the NBA.
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: Which is probably not true, but I would say the best.
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: Now that's sick, he's gone. I think Drake is probably
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: the best basketball player on the team. Should be Yeah,
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: he was very Most people thought he could have played
- 1:30:10Speaker 5: at North Caroline.
- 1:30:11Speaker 6: A lot of people said that he could have. He
- 1:30:12Speaker 6: could have played college basketball, but he focused.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: On Adam from Crown Point, Indiana. A couple of things.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: Who do you think our Week one opponent will be?
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: I have us at Tampa with Brady on the call.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: Oh god, it's a decent one.
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: I think it'll be an AFC East opponent, Buffalo.
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: I know this changes now, not to pooh pooh this
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: because I know it's not the point. But games can
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: be on different networks. But if it's at Tampa, it
- 1:30:36Speaker 6: would probably be a CBS game could be right, not
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: a Fox game.
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: Yeah, well that's how it used to be, right, But.
- 1:30:43Speaker 6: That's why I said, I know they've changed this. The
- 1:30:45Speaker 6: wuls are blurred and they just sort of try to
- 1:30:47Speaker 6: they try to balance out the good games between the
- 1:30:49Speaker 6: networks now. But in general, if it was a home
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: game against an NFC team, that's when you get it
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: on Fox.
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: What about on the road at Titans Titans?
- 1:31:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean that could be another one that'd be
- 1:31:02Speaker 6: good for the Patriots because that should be a nice
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: for you and the marketing storyline with Rable exactly, is
- 1:31:08Speaker 6: that my applying too much pressure by presuming a victory
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: over the Tennessee Titans.
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: A lot of people think, oh, they'll put Digs with Buffalo,
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: and no, they won't take the chance that Digs won't
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: be ready.
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, that's true.
- 1:31:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm not really sure that's anywhere near the theater
- 1:31:26Speaker 6: of these other possibilities like Rabel and Tennessee would.
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: Make a sense. Dwarf that it might be.
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: Cam Ward also, Adam wants to know any any truth
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: to the rumor of new uniforms coming. That's what you question, Freda,
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:31:41Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: We'd have to wait and see.
- 1:31:43Speaker 6: Alex is our resident on all rumors? Is there rumors
- 1:31:47Speaker 6: out there that were about.
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: Uniforms every year?
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: Because I think we put out like a cartoon graphic
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: for Valentine's Day and a bunch of speculations started for
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: not and it's like, it's just a cartoon.
- 1:32:02Speaker 6: That's why I go to you, because I don't see
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: this cartoonish characters.
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: If we leaked something like that, Ali would be, Oh,
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: like we get.
- 1:32:12Speaker 6: In trouble, wouldn't we Sure we should?
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't people read into the uniform Chris with
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: a T I A N wrights in Paul, if you
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: backhand Evan, I'll post your bail.
- 1:32:25Speaker 6: Would you?
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: Would you?
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: Would you press charges?
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: Would you press charges? And Paul backhanded you?
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: Probably because he wearing his Hall of famering when he
- 1:32:31Speaker 4: does it.
- 1:32:31Speaker 6: Or I don't know why we keep saying that. I
- 1:32:37Speaker 6: couldn't even figure out what year. Someone was asking me
- 1:32:39Speaker 6: what year that happened. I was like, I don't know,
- 1:32:41Speaker 6: it's like twelve fifteen years ago. I don't know.
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: I brought my my Holy Cross League Championship ring to
- 1:32:47Speaker 4: the game last weekend when I went to the playoff game,
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: but it didn't do any didn't an I haven't like
- 1:32:51Speaker 4: pulled it out in forever. I was like, I've got
- 1:32:53Speaker 4: to bring this. I've never won this.
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: Holy Cross lead ship. Was it made out of ten?
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: No, it's from Jostin's I think is that the name
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: of the that's one of them? Just ring deal. Well, sorry, guys,
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: I don't have a Super Bowl ring like you guys do,
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: so I have to use my own.
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: So okay, could.
- 1:33:13Speaker 6: Have been in full disclosure, I would rather have yours.
- 1:33:16Speaker 6: It's like I'm on staff. I didn't do anything. You
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: actually played quarterback of PP two.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: You speaking of holy Cross remind me of Celtic City
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: because Bob I watched that first a lot of Bob Coo.
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that's great. I'm only one episode in. I know
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: these guys are super basketball fans, but for me, I'm
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: obviously just I couldn't. I was telling him, I can't
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: believe how good Bill Russell was, Like just what a
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: mammoth he was and how aletic. Right, I know, but
- 1:33:44Speaker 4: I've seen Bill up there. He could pay today like he.
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: Was really really good.
- 1:33:51Speaker 4: If you say.
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: Larry Bird, Lawrence Burn.
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: Alive.
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: I don't know why I like Bill Russell was arguably
- 1:34:02Speaker 6: the greatest winner in the history of sport. Yea, and
- 1:34:07Speaker 6: Mike just came around you.
- 1:34:11Speaker 19: I like the joke, but in fact, like I've seen him,
- 1:34:13Speaker 19: but in the documentary, I really get a sense of
- 1:34:16Speaker 19: what kind of player he was, Like you can exactly
- 1:34:18Speaker 19: what you stopped top five players, but that's what you
- 1:34:23Speaker 19: see why and when they run that stuff, it's like
- 1:34:25Speaker 19: left the team incredibly athletic.
- 1:34:27Speaker 6: You know, it just took them two years to get
- 1:34:30Speaker 6: back and win again.
- 1:34:31Speaker 5: Really right, all of that, he's the top five player.
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: Of all time.
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I can see you are you are?
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: Jason writes in do you guys think the Giants bringing
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: in two quarterbacks singles? They know the Titans are taking
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: Ward and the Browns are taking Shador.
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: That's the that's the positive, the glass half full way
- 1:34:52Speaker 5: to look at it as a Patriots, But I don't think.
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: Like if God answered Jameis Winston's prayers that he can
- 1:34:59Speaker 4: stop throwing picks, then they might he might finally turn
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: the corner and be able to win some games.
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: Bell in San Diego. I think Evan is suffering from
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: recency bias in regards to where Travis Hunter would go.
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: In last year's draft, Harrison was seen as a generational talent,
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: and Neighbors was seen as a tick below. Everyone I
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: have heard speak on this subject has said Hunter would
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: be the fourth wide receiver at best, and likely he'd
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: be the fifth taken, which likely puts him in the
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: second round. Evan, please cite any instance of one of
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: the experts saying they think Hunter would even be in
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: the conversation of being taken before Harrison had he come
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: out last year. Who are your sources?
- 1:35:37Speaker 5: Me, I don't need to listen to the other expert.
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: But you do have to admit the way they were
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: talking about Harrison now it didn't pan out.
- 1:35:44Speaker 5: Would I would say that I would have Travis Hunter
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: as the third best receiver in last year's class. But
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: I'm not saying he's in the ballpark like and I'm
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: saying that he's the fourth or the fifth. Is crazy?
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: I mean, that's definitely. I don't think anybody feels that way.
- 1:35:59Speaker 5: I just saw Topicshite tweeted out the other day that
- 1:36:01Speaker 5: he would have had him as the third receiver in
- 1:36:02Speaker 5: last year's class two So okay, but I said he
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: would be in the conversation let's go back to this.
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: If you think it would be laughable to say that Harrison, Neighbors,
- 1:36:14Speaker 6: and Thomas are better than Travis Hunter.
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: Well, Thomas is that's recency biased because we saw what
- 1:36:21Speaker 5: he did in Jacksonville. Oh yeah, but no, we're saying.
- 1:36:24Speaker 6: What he was like that wasn't he like the fourteenth pick?
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: No, it's like twenty. But regardless when they were entering
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: the draft, like if I had the blessings of hindsight, okay,
- 1:36:35Speaker 5: you know, like Neighbors would be number one and Brian
- 1:36:38Speaker 5: Thomas Junior would be number two. Marvin Harrison Junior would.
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: So when you were saying that you were you're you're
- 1:36:44Speaker 6: just judging them coming out of the draft last year.
- 1:36:46Speaker 6: That's yeah, that's different. Yeah, that's that's.
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: Coming out of the draft last year would have been.
- 1:36:51Speaker 6: No one would have been over Harrison. It was the
- 1:36:53Speaker 6: greatest wide receiver prospect that It drove me crazy because
- 1:36:56Speaker 6: I thought Neighbors was better. But everybody told me that
- 1:36:59Speaker 6: this is a generational talent that comes along once every decade.
- 1:37:01Speaker 6: Blah blah blah blah blah. Right, and the Patriots should
- 1:37:04Speaker 6: take him at three. Remember how how many people want
- 1:37:06Speaker 6: to Marvin Harrison.
- 1:37:07Speaker 8: At I didn't.
- 1:37:09Speaker 5: But just like I was running, I was not saying
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: that he would be the best Travis Hunter would be
- 1:37:15Speaker 5: the best receiver last year. I was just thinking he
- 1:37:17Speaker 5: would be in that court.
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: No, no, no, like that's all I thought you were talking about.
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: Based on what's happened, you're saying coming out, that's a
- 1:37:23Speaker 6: whole different thing, right, I think that far more defense.
- 1:37:26Speaker 5: Okay, So now he's a top ten percond every.
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: Footnote that way. Do you think now Travis Hunter is
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: better than Melik Neighbors, are going to be better than
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: Melik Neighbors as a receiver.
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: Based off of what I don't, based off of whatever,
- 1:37:41Speaker 5: Based on what you've seen so far, I say no,
- 1:37:44Speaker 5: But that's because we've seen proof of concept with Molik Neighbors.
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: Like, no, no, that's fair enough. It's fair enough. But like,
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: are you gonna risk taking the fourth on Travis Hunter
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: and make him a receiver?
- 1:37:53Speaker 5: I don't think it's a risk.
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: Okay, But Evan for months now has been saying that
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: his ability as a receiver seriously underrated. And oh yeah,
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: Like Evan was the first person I heard that was
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: just like all in on him.
- 1:38:09Speaker 6: We need the experts to tell you that if anybody
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: would know, it would be Alex because she's subjected to
- 1:38:13Speaker 6: sit next to you as you're just watching the video time.
- 1:38:18Speaker 5: I've only watched Travis Hunter like three times.
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: So Alex, when you're you know, because you people don't know.
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: Theyre like Evan. We call it the bullpen. But they
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: share an area. So when Evan is watching film, does
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: he like make noises.
- 1:38:31Speaker 6: Like watch this, watch this, watch this cut?
- 1:38:37Speaker 2: No, he's locked in.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: He doesn't like he's locked in.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: He might shift a little, but I haven't picked up
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: on like the mannerisms and what they mean yet.
- 1:38:45Speaker 5: But I'll we could take you a lot behind the newsletter,
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: but there's no.
- 1:38:49Speaker 4: Like, oh I don't know where you're here.
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: No one's earned it yet, you know, so maybe I'm not.
- 1:38:54Speaker 5: I'm at the I'm so deep into it now that
- 1:38:58Speaker 5: like anybody that was going to get a new and
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: I've already watched, like yeah, like we're really taled. This
- 1:39:03Speaker 5: morning I was.
- 1:39:03Speaker 6: Talking, he's already watched everybody.
- 1:39:05Speaker 5: This morning, I was talking. I was watching Terrence ferguson
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: The tight End from Oregon. It's a good player, but
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: like it's not you're not going to sit here and
- 1:39:12Speaker 5: be owing and eyeing over Terrence ferguson fourth round.
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: Yeah, well, yesterday we were down in the bullpen and
- 1:39:21Speaker 4: some numbers came in. Yes Ah, and young Evan Uh,
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: you know, felt the need to come out and tell you.
- 1:39:26Speaker 4: I think Paul, were you use you and Matt.
- 1:39:29Speaker 6: We're all there.
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: A great segue.
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: Wants to get into this, that's.
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: A great segue. So you're referring to the numbers of
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: uh Campbell's arm length at his pro day, which came
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: in at thirty three.
- 1:39:44Speaker 6: But what's the threshold again.
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: Thirty thirty three. But our friend Alex Barth, who has
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: been doing a deep dive investigative reporting, has come out
- 1:39:56Speaker 3: with a chart that now is his chart is right
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: up there with Jimmy Johnson's draft trade value charts. Paul
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: came in and showed it right up there. Everyone's talking
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: about it, and he's uncovered. Show he's uncovered perhaps one
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: of the greatest controversies ever to do with off season
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: draft and all this stuff. And he's taken all these
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: you know, pro days and to combine and compared it
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: and combine everybody has higher arm measurements than the combine.
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: He's uncovered that there has to be a flaw in
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: the combine because all these other measurement tent pole events
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: had arms longer than the combine. And he's got the proof.
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: And just for the record, before Paul snarkiness kicks in,
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: I'm not going to have it's not just like Will Campbell.
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: Everybody, it's across the board.
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: Now, I would also say, which I think is just
- 1:40:56Speaker 5: this is honestly one of the craziest things I've ever
- 1:40:59Speaker 5: seen in ten years covering the draft. We have three
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: different arm length measurements for Will Campbell. All three of
- 1:41:05Speaker 5: them are different, so like there has to be one
- 1:41:08Speaker 5: that's right right, there has to be an accurate measurement.
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: But last spring he measures in at thirty two and
- 1:41:13Speaker 5: seven eights, then at the combine he measured in thirty
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: two and five as then at his pro day he
- 1:41:17Speaker 5: measured in at thirty three flat. So like we're in
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: the we're all in like a range right of a
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: half an inch, Like we're not talking about inches here.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: But it's just I've never seen the conversation, the discourse
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: around it, the varying.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Now get to another level and track the temperatures of
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: each of these places, because.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: Because it's unbelievable, things grow.
- 1:41:40Speaker 19: It shrinking like there's always such as.
- 1:41:43Speaker 5: One of the things.
- 1:41:44Speaker 3: One of our one of our readers, and you know,
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: hear me out here. One of our readers had a
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: good point. He's assuming that they the measurement goes to
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: the fingertip, right.
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: It goes to the paint tip at the long finger.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: Right, okay, middle finger. But you don't punch like this.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: You punch like this. So what if somebody has extremely
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: long or short fingers, that shouldn't matter. It should be
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: to the heel of the hand. I'm serious, because that's
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: what you do. You don't go out like you're gonna
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: break your things. So if you have short or long fingers,
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: that could be the difference of three eighths.
- 1:42:21Speaker 4: What's his hand length? Do we have his hand size?
- 1:42:23Speaker 5: We do have his hand size. But I would just
- 1:42:25Speaker 5: say that I hate it doesn't make.
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: Sense to you because you go like this when you block, right,
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: So I want to know another measurement to the heel
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: in the hands.
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: Everybody else, right, but.
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: Not if somebody has abnormally long or short.
- 1:42:44Speaker 5: Fingers, if they have alien hands exactly, I'd rather have
- 1:42:47Speaker 5: long I'd rather have the guy with the long hands.
- 1:42:49Speaker 6: Why because you have more rooms? All do what more reach?
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: He's not catching the ball if you're throwing or catching,
- 1:42:55Speaker 3: I could see.
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: This is this is like the fifteenth show in a row.
- 1:43:00Speaker 6: I'll say this, Okay, I have no idea, Like I
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: don't know about the length of the arms. I don't
- 1:43:05Speaker 6: know why it matters.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: I'm not we told you why. I don't protend matter.
- 1:43:09Speaker 6: I don't pretend to know. It's it's not something that
- 1:43:12Speaker 6: I can't play dumb.
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: I'm not saying dumb you are. I'm just saying that
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: to these people it matters.
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: Yes, so it must matter because so.
- 1:43:22Speaker 6: That's how I'm saying, like, so it matters, and like
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: it this whole thing about trying to nitpick five eighths
- 1:43:29Speaker 6: of an inch of three eights of an inch, I
- 1:43:31Speaker 6: don't care, but they do.
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: Right, So we have to talk about at some point.
- 1:43:36Speaker 5: I don't know about it at some point, So why
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: are you talking about you?
- 1:43:41Speaker 6: But you don't know about it? So how do you
- 1:43:43Speaker 6: know what his heel of the hand is?
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: Because I know how to watch football.
- 1:43:47Speaker 6: So now you have to a watcher of football and
- 1:43:50Speaker 6: you're missing the point.
- 1:43:50Speaker 5: You don't know where you're playable's.
- 1:43:52Speaker 6: Arm link to the heel of the hand is either
- 1:43:54Speaker 6: I want to know and you don't know what the
- 1:43:55Speaker 6: threshold to the heel of the hand is. Well, so
- 1:43:58Speaker 6: it doesn't matter.
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: That's fine. I think we need radically change how they're
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: judging the arm length of tackles trying to bring doesn't
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: matter how long to the tip of the finger, because
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: you don't use your fingers, use the heel of your hand.
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: You're not tickling them right, You're not tickling them right.
- 1:44:15Speaker 6: I would just I would just say, if Mike Rabel,
- 1:44:19Speaker 6: if Mike Rabel and Ryan Cowden believe that Will Campbell
- 1:44:22Speaker 6: can play left tackle, I say, taking.
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: All right, what is you think the hand new measurement technique?
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: I hear what you're saying that. I would just say
- 1:44:37Speaker 5: my official stance on this at this point is that
- 1:44:41Speaker 5: you either like the player or adults. And if you're
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: gonna get caught up in an eighth of an inch
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: or or a three ace of an inch or whatever
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: of arm length, then you probably just don't like the player,
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: which is your prerogative. Like it's fine, Like if you
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: don't like him. You don't like him. We all have
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: our guys and he's not your guy. That's fine, But
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: at this point there's varying degrees of measurements for everybody.
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: We don't have, you know, a consensus measurement. I'd probably
- 1:45:05Speaker 5: go by the combine because it's the safest one to
- 1:45:07Speaker 5: go by, but just in general, either like him or
- 1:45:10Speaker 5: you don't.
- 1:45:11Speaker 6: If they think he can play, I say, take him.
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you were very excited when the news came out.
- 1:45:16Speaker 5: I was very excited.
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: Told me that you had just won like the lottery
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: to go to the Masters.
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: I would have believed you.
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: Somebody said that when the news came out. Evan was
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: standing online at Starbucks and he dropped to his knees
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: and just sobbed.
- 1:45:31Speaker 6: Downstairs lipstick camping.
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: There was a mic to drop that was missing too,
- 1:45:38Speaker 4: because he got up with purpose and he's like, he
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: came stre guys.
- 1:45:42Speaker 8: I have.
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: Tell you, guys, the scene in the Work of Wall
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: Street where Leo tells his investment firm that he's not
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: effing leaving like, imagine that energy.
- 1:45:56Speaker 6: I will not lay down my sword.
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: The bottom line is Alex bar has uncovered the truth
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: that there's problems I think we need to put them
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: on the Karen Reid case.
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: You took the words out of my mouth and I
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: was waiting for the right time.
- 1:46:11Speaker 6: The truth that there's discrepancies in the measurements, yes, not
- 1:46:14Speaker 6: that there's His conclusion is there's problems with the combine.
- 1:46:17Speaker 6: I agree, and I don't think that that's.
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: They're thirty three inches. The combine screwed it up.
- 1:46:23Speaker 6: I have no idea. I just stand by if if
- 1:46:27Speaker 6: Rabel and Cowden want them, I'm in poor Elliott.
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: I would just say that I said what I said.
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: The other thing is, is you hear a lot is
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: that it shows up on tape, and my just my
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: reaction to that would be tangibly, show me where. And
- 1:46:43Speaker 5: I'm not saying that I necessarily think it doesn't sometimes
- 1:46:46Speaker 5: show up on tape, but like it's so easy for
- 1:46:49Speaker 5: you to just say, oh, well, it shows up on tape,
- 1:46:51Speaker 5: Like tell me, like show me the evidence and you
- 1:46:55Speaker 5: know of where this shows up on tape and and
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: then maybe we can have a conversation about it. Totally,
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: it would be an outlier. And if you just want
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: to go by the numbers, his wingspan in his arm length,
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: he's a statistical outlier to play tackle in the NFL.
- 1:47:07Speaker 5: But if you watch the film at the SEC level
- 1:47:10Speaker 5: and a drop back NFL pro style offense, he plays
- 1:47:13Speaker 5: a darn good left tackle. And if that's that's what.
- 1:47:16Speaker 6: You see, take that.
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: That's what you see on film, Take a darn left
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: I'm gonna make the same point. I mean, we did
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: our we did a little mock draft video that we
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: shot a couple days ago. But the point I made
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: that nobody talks about was like, he's the they ranked,
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: you know, raw athletic score like Will Campbell's seventeenth going
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: back to the eighties of all offensive lineman, like fifteen
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: hundred offensive lineman. He's like, you know, athletic score, it
- 1:47:35Speaker 4: is what it is. But still we spend so much
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: time talking about his shortcomings. It's like, let's remember that
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: this guy is crazy athletic and he's got a good attitude.
- 1:47:43Speaker 5: The crazy athletic, extremely balanced, really strong upper body, really
- 1:47:47Speaker 5: strong punch in his hands when he does get his
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: hands on people.
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: Take them, yeah, I mean take them.
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: He's a great He's the best offensive line draft. He
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: plays guard. He plays guard.
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: Take you take him at four and then you have
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: fun with the rest of the draft.
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: His attitude too. I saw an interview from his pro
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: day of him I feel like being like and I
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: don't care. He's just so sick of it. He's so
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: sick of it, you know, and I get it like.
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: He's going to come in there with a chip on.
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:48:11Speaker 6: I felt like, you what you're hoping for? For Diggs?
- 1:48:14Speaker 6: I was like, just lie to me, Just slide to
- 1:48:16Speaker 6: me and say, you know, like, you know, whoever takes me,
- 1:48:18Speaker 6: I'm going to be excited to put.
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: Can't you just like at the first one.
- 1:48:27Speaker 6: I'll be happy anywhere. Come on, he doesn't.
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: I know he doesn't mean it, but just lie to crap,
- 1:48:34Speaker 5: like what you think. Because my arms are an eighth
- 1:48:37Speaker 5: of an inch shorter than somebody else's, I can't play
- 1:48:39Speaker 5: screw you.
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: And when we draft him and it's awesome and I
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: don't cut that, cut that sound.
- 1:48:46Speaker 6: Yeah you should get You should get up to somebody
- 1:48:49Speaker 6: and just give him a quick, quick punch. Is that
- 1:48:52Speaker 6: long enough?
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: I do feel bad for him, though, because.
- 1:48:56Speaker 6: We're gonna need some bill money for a first round pick,
- 1:48:59Speaker 6: a proven as, so this would be great when we
- 1:49:02Speaker 6: have him in here. Yeah, on the Friday don't ask him,
- 1:49:06Speaker 6: oh man, and we can we can just say like,
- 1:49:08Speaker 6: how do you so? How do you measure that?
- 1:49:10Speaker 5: Don't ask that, Claire.
- 1:49:12Speaker 6: They're not gonna be able to ask him questions about
- 1:49:14Speaker 6: his arm?
- 1:49:14Speaker 4: What are doing? How happy you to be?
- 1:49:17Speaker 3: Claire?
- 1:49:18Speaker 9: Rights?
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: And hello everyone?
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: Hellover in just chiming in as long as they secure
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: something decent at left tackle, not elite, just a good
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: NFL guy. I'm with Fred ten wins season.
- 1:49:28Speaker 6: Let's go there, we go, maybe twelve, let's go.
- 1:49:31Speaker 4: It's too optimistically positive.
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: All right, let's go to the hotline. Nelson's in LA.
- 1:49:38Speaker 3: What's up? Nelson? Don't swear?
- 1:49:40Speaker 6: I don't think you called him up?
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: Nelson? Nelson?
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: Good Man?
- 1:49:49Speaker 8: I got a question, Yeah, why you're not bringing back
- 1:49:54Speaker 8: Patrick back?
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: What am I going to bring?
- 1:49:57Speaker 8: Weg what patri.
- 1:50:02Speaker 6: What's called the paper?
- 1:50:06Speaker 8: Pay book? Play book? Pats playbook?
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: Oh uh, we're not.
- 1:50:12Speaker 8: Are you gonna do like that? Man?
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: It's been discontinued.
- 1:50:16Speaker 8: I know, but you're not gonna.
- 1:50:20Speaker 3: You know, we have to make we have to make changes.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: All right, Man is listening next to you and playbook
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: and you're gonna okay, Well, you know, things happen, you know,
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: life changes. You gotta adapt, you know, roll with the punches.
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: Alright.
- 1:50:37Speaker 8: I love your podcast. Okay, guys for day I like the.
- 1:50:43Speaker 6: Pak Okay, thanks, thanks Nelson.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: Let's get to uh Sam in Connecticut. What's up Sam?
- 1:50:52Speaker 12: Hey, guys, how's it going?
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: Good?
- 1:50:55Speaker 11: Questions?
- 1:50:55Speaker 12: Uh, I know towards the end of the show, so
- 1:50:57Speaker 12: I'll keep it quick.
- 1:50:58Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:50:59Speaker 12: My first question, and you know, there's been a lot
- 1:51:01Speaker 12: of talk about who we're going to take a number
- 1:51:03Speaker 12: four uh, you know with you guys and you know
- 1:51:06Speaker 12: most Patriots coverage. But I'm curious, who do you guys
- 1:51:10Speaker 12: like with our second pick. I'd love to hear, you know,
- 1:51:13Speaker 12: probably tackles and receivers, just because I think those are
- 1:51:17Speaker 12: our biggest holes. We obviously don't know who we're going
- 1:51:19Speaker 12: to take the first round. Uh, so I'd love to
- 1:51:21Speaker 12: hear your kind of names for that.
- 1:51:24Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:51:24Speaker 12: In second Evan, I know earlier you mentioned we still
- 1:51:27Speaker 12: don't have like a guy who can get to the
- 1:51:29Speaker 12: third level. I believe that Lockett is still a free agent,
- 1:51:35Speaker 12: and I know back in Seattle he was able to,
- 1:51:37Speaker 12: you know, make some big plays.
- 1:51:39Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:51:39Speaker 12: Do you have any thoughts on him if he's still available,
- 1:51:43Speaker 12: do you do you think he still kind of has
- 1:51:44Speaker 12: the ability to do that. I'll leave you guys answering, no.
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:51:49Speaker 5: Yeah, A Locket's always to me been like more like
- 1:51:51Speaker 5: a speed slot, like you guy that's played inside a
- 1:51:54Speaker 5: little bit more on on the outside. I love Tyler
- 1:51:57Speaker 5: Locke's he's in, but he's more pretty sim Ortstefon Diggs. Honestly,
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: he's a technician.
- 1:52:02Speaker 6: I think they're interested in him. Yeah, just listening to
- 1:52:05Speaker 6: my shows, and Zoe in particular, who obviously knows something.
- 1:52:11Speaker 5: So knows, I would be wondering how they would fit
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: those two guys together, you know. I think I think
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: there's a lot of positional overlap there. Not that I
- 1:52:17Speaker 5: would turn down the talent.
- 1:52:18Speaker 6: And I do think that he has shown some signs
- 1:52:21Speaker 6: of being close to done too, But I am He's
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: always been a player that that's intrigued me because of
- 1:52:27Speaker 6: what evan. I love the way of the speed slot,
- 1:52:30Speaker 6: like that Christian Kirk, the Brandon Cooks. I love that
- 1:52:33Speaker 6: profile of the player. Lockett's been really good at that
- 1:52:37Speaker 6: role for a long time. I'd kick the tires he
- 1:52:41Speaker 6: might be being available at this time.
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: And in response to his other question, I would say,
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: you know, I think Connory ursery of the tackles around
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: that area, and.
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: Well, if Mason Graham slides, I take him in the
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: second round.
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: Yeah, it's always tough. Like you know, they picked thirty eight,
- 1:52:55Speaker 5: tell me who goes one through thirty seven, and I
- 1:52:57Speaker 5: can tell you who they're taking at thirty eight.
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: But there will be good defensive ends.
- 1:53:01Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I was gonna say, as well, you
- 1:53:03Speaker 5: know all those pass rushers that might slip through the
- 1:53:05Speaker 5: first round. The one guy that I'm really very interested
- 1:53:09Speaker 5: in whether or not he's on their board is Mike
- 1:53:11Speaker 5: Green from Marshall because he's a top ten to fifteen
- 1:53:15Speaker 5: ish talent in this class. There's some off field stuff
- 1:53:18Speaker 5: with him that needs to be vetted.
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: I didn't know he was, well, he's at the combine.
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: It was the first time I combined and somebody being like,
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: I've never been charged with anything, like he went right out,
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: Like I heard him say.
- 1:53:27Speaker 6: That, I was like convicted.
- 1:53:30Speaker 5: So there's two different incidents, one one in high school
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: and then one early on at Virginia in college and
- 1:53:36Speaker 5: he actually got kicked out of the Virginia program and
- 1:53:39Speaker 5: transferred to Marshall as a result. So there's some off
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: field character concerns there, but he's a really really good player.
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: Senior bowl jump out to you.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I like the value there.
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: You know, he has really good tap against Ohio State,
- 1:53:54Speaker 5: Like I know, he played at Marshall, so people are like, well,
- 1:53:55Speaker 5: what's the competition, But they played Ohio State got killed
- 1:53:59Speaker 5: as a team. He looked like he belonged on the
- 1:54:01Speaker 5: field against bb.
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: In New Hampshire, writes in Love that Fred calls out
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: Mike for using I think and then proceeds to say,
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: I think to start in a row.
- 1:54:09Speaker 4: We're working on it.
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: Hey, did I miss something? Why do we hate saying
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: I think? I thought? Sorry that we liked and wanted
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: more critical thinking around here. No, it's just a matter
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: of being more definitive in having your statement have more weight. Yeah,
- 1:54:25Speaker 3: like off off topic question, Alex, how do we feel
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: about men advisors? I personally think their pointless, except that
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: it's an excuse for a dude to show off that
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: he's still has hair. Who cares you look like your
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: hat budget ran out once you got past the brim.
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: Wear a hat like a human.
- 1:54:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we've dressed this on the show. But
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: I'm not ins no, weird tam line too.
- 1:54:50Speaker 6: Why do you want that's Andy Hart special?
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: I'd like to hear his impassionate defensive advisors. Why does
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: he loves because he can't get Yeah? Yeah, sorry.
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: Carolyn Georgia might have the question of the week. First,
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: she says, I love the show. Then she says, second,
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: why do you guys never know the news from the
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: team and rely on reports from outside sources? This doesn't
- 1:55:12Speaker 3: make sense. You worked there. It's a good question. It's
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: a very good question.
- 1:55:16Speaker 6: Now we.
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean we we you know, we don't know
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: that much more than people on the outside.
- 1:55:24Speaker 6: Unfortunately, same but separate.
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: Yes, we can't say yeah, that's sometimes the case too.
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: Chad says length does matter, think of boxing.
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: I don't think anybody is saying length doesn't matter. No,
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: that's why we're having these conversations for the past three months.
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see, Jeremiah says, with the additions at free
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: agency and excluding dred, what would you say this? We
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: talked about floors and winds. We already talked about that.
- 1:55:54Speaker 6: We have Fred's get twelve winds.
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: Would you guys get I never said that.
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: A very important call at two o'clock.
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: I never said that care all right, all right, we
- 1:56:04Speaker 3: have a lot of email. Why get one more call
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: and then we'll hang it up. Todd's in North Carolina.
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: What's up, Todd?
- 1:56:12Speaker 17: Hey, guys, just in a kind of a strange show
- 1:56:14Speaker 17: talking about you know, firm and then swishy and all
- 1:56:17Speaker 17: sorts of stuff. And then previously, you know, other show
- 1:56:19Speaker 17: has been here and tapping the class.
- 1:56:20Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:56:20Speaker 17: I think you guys gone a little bit off the rails.
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: It's the off season.
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: But Todd as opposed to win.
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: Have you never listened to.
- 1:56:27Speaker 6: This show before we took the call before we end when.
- 1:56:29Speaker 8: We got to see you for over ten years.
- 1:56:32Speaker 17: Anyway, we'll get Chris Canty thinks that as a Giant,
- 1:56:35Speaker 17: the Giants are canning for Manning. He doesn't think that
- 1:56:38Speaker 17: they're going to He actually thought they might even trade
- 1:56:40Speaker 17: out of that pick if.
- 1:56:41Speaker 12: They had the chance.
- 1:56:42Speaker 17: So I think that kind of maybe changes what our
- 1:56:46Speaker 17: chances are of getting either of those guys. I think
- 1:56:48Speaker 17: we're looking at Campbell and that's where kind of where
- 1:56:50Speaker 17: I'm at. So I just get in the show with that.
- 1:56:53Speaker 17: We'll calculator.
- 1:56:54Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: What do you think about that canny for Manning, though,
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: I mean, you bring in Russell Wilson, you're gonna tell
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: him you can't win.
- 1:57:02Speaker 6: I don't think they're doing that.
- 1:57:05Speaker 5: Arch hasn't played enough. Like he hasn't. I haven't seen
- 1:57:08Speaker 5: enough of Arch Manning.
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: To think, well you will after next season.
- 1:57:11Speaker 5: Sure, but let me get it. I'll have a take
- 1:57:13Speaker 5: next season. Like you know, when you saw Trevor Lawrence
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: at Clemson or uh, you know Andrew Luck at Stanford,
- 1:57:19Speaker 5: they had undergraduate tape that we were you know, they had,
- 1:57:23Speaker 5: you know, true sophomore tape that everybody was saying, franchise
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: quarterback like Arch Manning is barely played at Texas.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: At this point. Yeah, you don't know fourth and short.
- 1:57:30Speaker 5: So like, I just feel like it's weird that I'm
- 1:57:33Speaker 5: saying he's like this.
- 1:57:34Speaker 6: I think it's weird to bring in a veteran quarterback
- 1:57:36Speaker 6: if your idea is to get the first pick the
- 1:57:37Speaker 6: following year. Like forget about what you know or don't
- 1:57:40Speaker 6: know about Arch Manning, which everything you said is accurately
- 1:57:42Speaker 6: played against like Texas San Antonio, have the.
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: Field Cutlet guy play.
- 1:57:47Speaker 6: If you want to lose and you want to get
- 1:57:48Speaker 6: in position to get manning. Tommy DeVito's your quarter, right well,
- 1:57:52Speaker 6: Jameis Winston, He'll make sure you get the first pick
- 1:57:54Speaker 6: in the draft.
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: There you go. All right, that's gonna be it for
