- 0:00Get laced up. Let's go!
- 0:02It's time for Banter with the Boys!
- 0:12Yo yo, welcome back to Banter with the Boys Gridiron Updates Week 4.
- 0:17That means we're recapping our Week 3 games and previewing some Week 4 games.
- 0:23But before we do all that, obviously we gotta bring in our co-host over here, Rob.
- 0:27What's up, Snelsey? How's it going?
- 0:29Man, have you enjoyed that weather this week or not?
- 0:31It was money. I ended up hitting up the Gophers game.
- 0:33A little tailgate for five hours. Can't complain.
- 0:36Yeah, but you did a lot for not much.
- 0:39And then the whole team on the professional side sitting at 3-0, so vibes are good.
- 0:44Oh, we're gonna get to that. Don't you worry. Don't you worry.
- 0:46Life's good.
- 0:47Life is good. Life is good. Right next to him making his first appearance on the show, we have Mike.
- 0:53Correct, yes. Good job you remembered.
- 0:56Mark, go on the screen.
- 0:58Alright. Mike, why don't you just give us a little rundown of your football history, how long you've been watching it, all that jazz.
- 1:05Well, I became a Colts fan early on when I was a teenager, so I'm pretty old now, so a lot of years.
- 1:1220 plus years as a Colts fan. So I've seen the Super Bowl with Peyton and that was pretty exciting.
- 1:19I can explain that to you. He can help explain that to you.
- 1:23Oh, come on. This is just introductions.
- 1:28Yeah, met Rob at Fantasy Football and we've been doing that for 15, 20 years now and so just a long time Colts fan.
- 1:36So you're Rob's friend or acquaintance?
- 1:38Let's call it acquaintance. Mark it down. No, we're friends.
- 1:43Yeah, I wouldn't say that out loud. And then right next to me, an OG of Banner with the boys, please welcome back Tyler.
- 1:50Tyler, what is poppin' dude? Glad to be back man, making it work, having another kiddo.
- 1:55It's a lot, but I'm glad to be here man. Glad to wear the Packer colors on the pot again.
- 2:01Well, I was just about to say we're hoping we see you more as the season goes on.
- 2:07Like more falling down the standings?
- 2:10Ooh, I like that. I'm just not a fan of the green because you went military green today.
- 2:17Yeah, I guess so.
- 2:18Alright, nevermind. Move on, move on, move on. And also don't forget Kev.
- 2:23Kev makes this whole thing happen behind the camera. You do not see him.
- 2:27But let's start right off the bat with our five game recap.
- 2:40And we are absolutely going to start with the Vikings.
- 2:44The Vikings game this week, which I was lucky enough to be at.
- 2:48Only a couple rows off the field, a handful of rows off the field. It was awesome.
- 2:52I bet the vibe had been awesome.
- 2:53Oh my gosh, it was rockin'. All of us different fans were buying each other drinks.
- 2:58Don't even know who they are. That's just the Minnesota way.
- 3:01We were just partying all game. It was louder than heck.
- 3:04Three straight false starts by the Texans. I just, still excited. Rob, aren't you?
- 3:09Yeah, it was solid. You know, we had that interception, that first drive.
- 3:13Put some points on the board.
- 3:15First offensive play for the Texans, wasn't it? Or did they run it first? I can't remember.
- 3:19They ran it first, then it was a second. Well, actually it was a completion to Collins, but there was a flag.
- 3:25And then the next play.
- 3:27The next play, so. Yeah, it feels good to be 3-0 on top of the division.
- 3:31Not really expecting us to have that hot of a start with our schedule, just looking at it preseason-wise.
- 3:38I thought we'd be 1-2.
- 3:39Yeah, but now looking forward, we have a really nice middle section of our schedule.
- 3:44So, vibes are good right now.
- 3:46Absolutely, absolutely. I mean, we saw a great game, not only from Sam Darnold in the offense,
- 3:52but that defense just absolutely ate up the Texans. I mean, there's nothing they could do.
- 3:57Once again, another example of the Texans missing that rushing game.
- 4:01Oh yeah, that Joe Mixon we mentioned last week, man. Oh yeah, the Vikings defense with five sacks, two interceptions.
- 4:08And so that's a really nice start. They're up 14-0 at half.
- 4:12So it's always, you know, when you're starting off a game like that and then you're playing from, you know, ahead,
- 4:17then you go out and establish the running game with a little over four yards of carry.
- 4:21So keeping the Texans to four for 14 on third downs, 11 total penalties.
- 4:26So that's overall a solid game out of the Vikings.
- 4:29Yeah, absolutely. Did either of you fellas happen to catch any of the best team in the league, the Vikings and Texans game?
- 4:36I was able to. I had the quad box on. So that was one of the one of the games on there.
- 4:42Ticket, Sunday ticket. Oh, Sunday ticket. Yeah.
- 4:45So what's impressed me most about this Viking team so far is just their defense.
- 4:49Flores has definitely made an impact as I expected him to.
- 4:53But, you know, they spent some money in the offseason on the defensive side of the ball.
- 4:56That's turning out to be huge. And then with Sam Darnold, I have the KOC system, right?
- 5:05It's the McVeigh system, however you want to say it. They're all everybody's a staple of it at this point.
- 5:09I think it's Shanahan. Originally it was Shanahan.
- 5:12Who was the original of all the originals? It was Mike Shanahan.
- 5:15It was Kyle's pops. And they were all in the so like like Sean, little Shanahan and Lafleur were all in the same actually Redskins team back when it was the Redskins.
- 5:26And Zach Taylor, I think. Yeah, and Zach Taylor. Yeah.
- 5:29And Mike as NFL coaches right now. And now McVeigh has a tree. Right. That's just crazy.
- 5:35But it's you don't need a star quarterback to run that system.
- 5:38You need somebody that's not going to turn the ball over and hit the receiver when they're open because they are open.
- 5:42That system just creates openings. It's insane how often you just have somebody that has three yards of separation consistently in that system.
- 5:49Just wild. So you need somebody that's just going to not turn the ball over and hit the open receiver.
- 5:53And having Aaron Jones as a compliment now is huge. Oh, yes. Right. It's really different from last year's team.
- 5:59Oh, yeah. They couldn't do anything in the rushing game with Madison at all.
- 6:03I mean, he's again not doing much this year. So, yeah, I had to move on from Aaron Jones with 102 yards.
- 6:08Can't complain there. He even had a receiving touchdown. Sam Darnold threw for four touchdowns to four different four different receivers.
- 6:16Oh, that's that's what I'm most excited about. Four different receivers all around.
- 6:20One of them being Aaron Jones, but I just love to see that he's spreading it out.
- 6:24He's not he was targeting J.J. early, but then everybody else started getting involved. Jalen Naylor, Johnny Munt got a touchdown. Right.
- 6:31You know what I mean? That's that system. Yeah.
- 6:33The system is like you can't just focus on one person for the system to thrive.
- 6:38Everybody has to eat, even if it's those little dink and dunk four yard yard completions to that no name.
- 6:43I'm not saying Johnny Munt's a no name because he's turned into well with Hockinson going down. Best third tight end in the league.
- 6:48Right. Right. He's a no name outside of our listeners.
- 6:52Yeah. But it's you know, that system just allows everybody to eat.
- 6:55You're seeing it. We'll get to it later. But you're seeing that with the LeFleur the LeFleur offense right now, too.
- 7:00But yeah, it's the Vikings have definitely impressed.
- 7:03And when you have a complimentary defense to that dink and dunk game, it doesn't matter.
- 7:07You don't have to go for the home run every time. And that's that's what we're seeing.
- 7:11We don't have to talk about the Vikings too long because Rob and I are here all season to talk about the Vikings, of course.
- 7:17But real quick, before we move on to the Packers, the Packers, sorry.
- 7:22It's happening. Oh, it keeps happening. I don't know what's going on.
- 7:26Is this a fluke for the Texans? I mean, you're walking into a tough environment.
- 7:31It was very loud. There's a second loudest game at US Bank Stadium behind like a Viking Packer game.
- 7:37Is this just a fluke for the Texans or is there is there more is there more to fix?
- 7:40The Texans. Yeah, the Colts already played the Texans.
- 7:44And I think the biggest difference I saw between the two games was Flores brought 15 blitzes against CJ Stroud and he got home with those.
- 7:54He timed them perfectly. It seemed like they all worked.
- 7:57He was either rushed or sacked on those blitzes. And it really got to him.
- 8:01Stroud had the second worst performance of his career and early career.
- 8:06But, you know, he didn't see it coming. Correct.
- 8:09It hadn't he hadn't been flustered like that in his his year plus so far.
- 8:14And so that was the big thing that I saw was Flores really got to him.
- 8:18And Slowick, the Houston offensive coordinator, just did not do him any favors, getting him short second or third downs.
- 8:27He just kept running the ball, kept getting two yards on first down and putting him in a bad position.
- 8:32So I think the offensive coordinator there will adjust and we'll see a better CJ Stroud. But it's definitely a way to get to him.
- 8:40They got to get some going with their rushing game. You can't just put it all on CJ.
- 8:44And when KMakers is your number one back. Back to Joe Mixon. He'll not be in there.
- 8:47Is there a different team? It's huge. And I mean, hi, right now he's probable.
- 8:54I don't think that's an actual designation anymore. But it sounds like he's.
- 8:58Yeah, it sounds like he's probable for this week with the Texans. Oh, I don't I don't know.
- 9:02I mean, their offense, they've played the Colts, the Bears and now the Vikings. Right.
- 9:07The Colts and the Bears, I think we can all you might not agree.
- 9:10I hope you would. But our bottom tier NFL teams at this point.
- 9:14Top tier defenses. I would I wouldn't say so.
- 9:17You don't think Chicago's in the top tier? They're not.
- 9:20I think top 15 I wouldn't consider top tier. That's top tier.
- 9:23Middling defenses. I'd say they're middle of the pack. Yeah.
- 9:26I expect it to be better this year. The Colts.
- 9:28I mean, the Colts even look just porous this year.
- 9:30Oh, Buckner out now. That kills them.
- 9:33Most rush yards given up in the first two games.
- 9:35So when you got not a good defense right now.
- 9:38So Jacksonville, if you're listening, you got to bring the pressure next week.
- 9:41And hey, you might beat the Texans. That's probably not.
- 9:45But Jacksonville. Probably not.
- 9:48They got to get Lawrence back on track.
- 9:50They made the Bills look like the best team the NFL's ever seen.
- 9:53No doubt. No doubt. Speaking of getting on track, Malik Willis looking nice.
- 9:59He's looking nice. Looking better than last week.
- 10:01Now that he knew he was going to be starting this week.
- 10:04I wouldn't even say it was necessarily looking better than last week.
- 10:07He was incorporated into the actual passing game this week.
- 10:09But it was that's what I was getting with with Le Fleur.
- 10:12It's like his like the way he sculpts the offense around what he's given is
- 10:17something the Packers have never really seen.
- 10:19McCarthy sure as crap didn't do that. So it's just crazy watching him.
- 10:23Because like with Malik's this last game, they were they were all basically
- 10:28like intermediate to longer routes is where Willis excels.
- 10:31He's not that dink and dunk. He's not going to hit that five yard.
- 10:35He's a grass and thrower. Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:37You know, he is his deepest or his best trade is his deep ball.
- 10:41Now, we didn't launch any down the field, but that's a lot to ask for of him.
- 10:44But then he's got his legs.
- 10:45But then they started off with a bubble screen to start the game.
- 10:48Well, yeah, but it was in him.
- 10:51That's also yeah, you want to hit those quick routes.
- 10:53Well, the first two passes of the game are actually passes.
- 10:56Yeah. And then he had that, you know, the 40 the the crosser to Jayden Reed that
- 11:00he went down.
- 11:02Now, sorry, the first two passes of the game were actually passes.
- 11:05Well, yeah, I would hope.
- 11:07Well, I think they would have put that on Willis to start the game.
- 11:11You think right, especially with Jacob's performance last week.
- 11:13But I like it, though. Get him that confidence.
- 11:15Get a couple of small completions, then get Jacobs involved.
- 11:19Now you got Malik who can extend the play with his legs or even make the play with
- 11:23his legs. I just think it was a good game plan because I think obviously the other
- 11:26team was planning on them to run to the ball.
- 11:29So they came out and passed the first couple of downs.
- 11:31So yeah, it's the biggest thing that's impressed me with this Packers team
- 11:35this year is just simply the defense.
- 11:37It was Jeff Halfley has made such a huge like switching that defense to more of a
- 11:42typical four, three cover to really cover one with only having one deep safety.
- 11:46That's his college style.
- 11:48He hasn't incorporated that as much.
- 11:50But I mean, this point in the season, I mean, there's some bias with this.
- 11:54Xavier McKinney has been the greatest acquisition in the offseason.
- 11:57Yeah, other than the Philly game getting ran up 30 points the next two games,
- 12:01they've been looking a lot better.
- 12:03But so for me, that's beginning to see the first game.
- 12:05And the field condition was horrible.
- 12:08The travel was horrible.
- 12:09Now, can I sit here and make all these excuses?
- 12:11Of course, for the Packers, of all people.
- 12:13But I mean, it's that was a great game.
- 12:16It was a great game to me that showed a lot about who this Packer team
- 12:19actually is capable of being this season right off the rip.
- 12:22I know it's I didn't I have predicted to lose the last two weeks with Willis
- 12:26under quarterback trust to be sitting at two and one with their two and all
- 12:29within loves absence is crazy to me.
- 12:31But one with Jordan Love this year.
- 12:33But so the biggest thing with that week one game in watching that defense,
- 12:37it was like the field conditions were bad.
- 12:39They were bad for both teams. Travels bad, bad for both teams.
- 12:42We didn't tackle any ball carrier.
- 12:44Everything was arm tackling.
- 12:45There was no gang tackling.
- 12:46They were just giving up on tackling one off that game.
- 12:48That has been fixed. The last two games, you could tell that there was some
- 12:51fire lit in that defense there.
- 12:52They've been way more physical the last two games and they've been, you know,
- 12:55getting to that ball carrier.
- 12:57It was I mean, for Jaylen Hurts, big quarterback, big guy.
- 13:00But for him to carry two people for four yards to get a first down on that,
- 13:03I believe was the second to last drive of that game where it put Philly ahead.
- 13:07Yeah, like you should not have that as a defensive player.
- 13:11Like, I don't care who the quarterback is.
- 13:13You should not be dragging two players four yards in the most crucial point of
- 13:16the game on a third down stop.
- 13:17Yeah, like and that is what seems to be the difference to me.
- 13:20The last two games in the defense and they're just getting after the ball.
- 13:23Big test coming up this week, you know, for the defense.
- 13:26You know, it's the proof it I guess, you know.
- 13:28Oh, we'll talk about that later.
- 13:29But I think that's I think it's a great test for both teams, honestly,
- 13:33even though the Vikings arguably have been tested the last two weeks straight.
- 13:36But I don't know. I don't know. We'll get to it. We'll get to it.
- 13:40Titans probably right there next to the Panthers is the worst team in the league.
- 13:45Absolutely. Just a complete dumpster fire right now.
- 13:48Sorry, Titans fans. If there's a Titans fan out there that wants to come on
- 13:51and tell us what they need to do to fix their woes, I think they need to know where to hit us up.
- 13:56What's up? I think they need to get Malik Willis back.
- 13:59The Colts fan you like seeing the Titans not doing anything.
- 14:03Yeah, I'd rather have them have Will Levis.
- 14:05He had that great first game and now he's looked pretty atrocious.
- 14:09Yeah, this week was bad. This was a really bad week for him.
- 14:12The crazy thing is it wasn't as bad as last week.
- 14:17I mean, he completed 26 to 34.
- 14:19Like, if you look at just that pick six at the end of the first quarter and totally flipped the whole game.
- 14:23Yeah. So right there, that the game was totally different.
- 14:26The big and the craziest thing, too, is we had eight sacks.
- 14:29I can never remember a time when the Packers had six in a game, let alone eight sacks.
- 14:35And Will Levis is a mobile quarterback. You know, so it's that that's wild.
- 14:39The other biggest stat is we have seven interceptions this year.
- 14:42That's what we had to all of last week.
- 14:44We had seven interceptions as a whole last year and we have that through three games.
- 14:48And you called it, you know, for those that are just joining us, Tyler hosted our whole season last year.
- 14:53And like you said, all last season, you needed to get a new DC, need to get him out of here,
- 14:58get somebody whoever in place. I didn't care who.
- 15:01And when they hired this guy, you were like, OK, I know who he is.
- 15:06He had fun. OK. Warm body.
- 15:08You know, and but he but he seems to be making a massive difference already in, again, arguably a tough NFC north.
- 15:15It is a good one.
- 15:18It's looking like a three team race right now. That's absolutely.
- 15:22But moving right along, let's hop right into the Ravens traveling to Dallas.
- 15:28Excuse me. Dallas looking like they are going to take this one.
- 15:33And wait. No, no, no. I'm sorry.
- 15:35All the way around. Oh, yeah.
- 15:38Well, no, look, it wasn't Dallas leading, though.
- 15:40No, no, no. They never led this game. Ravens were ahead and Dallas put on Ravens.
- 15:44Ravens are up 21, 6. OK.
- 15:46Dallas, OK. Yeah, I'm totally getting that backwards.
- 15:49Must have been Derrick Henry's running that just confused me. Messed me up.
- 15:52Probably was. But we finally saw King Henry this week.
- 15:55Yeah. I mean, Ravens had one hundred and ninety one yards, like 11 minutes left in the third quarter.
- 16:02It's insane. You know, like that's how much they dominated them throughout the whole game.
- 16:07I think after this week, the Cowboys are now the only team you said that have left more rushing yards than the Colts.
- 16:14And when you give up two fifty five to to a team, it's pretty easy to do that.
- 16:19But yeah, the Cowboys rush defense was trashed and all 75 percent of the plays that the Ravens ran were runs.
- 16:28Oh, yeah. You are getting involved.
- 16:30That's not a formula to win an NFL game unless you're getting five, six, seven yards of pop.
- 16:36And they were. So they just kept doing it. Why stop? Yeah.
- 16:40You can stop us like the Packers against the Colts. Why stop? Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:44That game was like the Vikings forty niners game where it should have been more of a blow up than it ended up being.
- 16:50Is how I felt like that game was going. This wasn't a three point game. No, it was definitely.
- 16:54No, absolutely not. The Ravens tried to give it away.
- 16:57You know what? Dax says that jump off. Did you hear that? Did you see that?
- 17:01Did you see that? He was like, jump off then. But they can't run the ball.
- 17:05That's what's just killing that offense right now. And then the defense is on the field too long.
- 17:10Yeah. No, that's not winning football. It's not. He only had 67 yards.
- 17:15Like you got to get him. Yeah. He was all frustrated about that.
- 17:18What's cool about C.D. is after the game, obviously frustrating game, he was still outside signing autographs before he hopped in his Lambo.
- 17:25I think it was the Lambo SUV. Yeah. Whatever. I can't remember what that's called.
- 17:29Might as well spend some of it. Yeah. Yeah. But I thought it was cool.
- 17:32He's taking a picture with people as soon as the picture's done, you know, he's cheesing and then back to like, you know, probably upset, obviously, that they lost that one.
- 17:40But what else? I was going to say, what do we need to see from Dallas? Jerry Jones went to the locker room after the game.
- 17:48Who knows what he said? But you got Jerry coming down there to the locker room. You know, I wonder if is that a thing?
- 17:53You think the players respect that at all? He's been doing it like that the whole time.
- 17:57So I think it's anything new. I mean, they need Emmett Smith back is what they really need. They need what? Emmett Smith back. They need that line.
- 18:04Well, that's not going to happen. Yeah. Yeah. They just can't run the ball.
- 18:07So that's, you know, and their defense like Parsons, he's still hustling out, you know, watching the taping over him.
- 18:14I mean, he's still flying. A lot of arm tackles on defense, a lot of business decisions going on.
- 18:20So they don't look like a fired up team right now. If the Cowboys defense isn't getting turnovers, they're not a good defense.
- 18:26That's what the whole defense is based off. True. Like when Trayvon had his going nuts.
- 18:31Yeah, when he was going crazy, the defense, everybody wanted to talk about their defense.
- 18:35That's a great point. They were a top five defense in the league.
- 18:37Yeah, because they get up and then they just pin their ears back and attack and then they just sit in their little zone and be aggressive on the ball.
- 18:43And if you give Dak Prescott a lead, you're usually fine. Usually fine. Unless you're in the playoffs. But you're usually fine.
- 18:49It's hard. It's just hard getting the lead in the playoffs. Yeah, they don't really get the lead in the playoffs.
- 18:53Braylon Cook isn't really doing enough for them as their second receiver right now either.
- 18:58So, I mean, they're just bracketing CD all day long. Ferguson had a decent little game today.
- 19:03Yeah, I mean, even even decent game. He had 95 yards on six catches, but he had 11 targets.
- 19:08Exactly. Five balls, he's not catching. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, 51 attempts for Dak too.
- 19:13That's a lot of attempts. I mean, that's tough. Again, that means we know we can't run the ball. We know that.
- 19:18So now we have to, you know, I mean, compared to compared to the other side, Lamar only thrown at 15, but he did run it for 14.
- 19:25So that, you know, it kind of makes up at least part of it. We'll go to seven.
- 19:28But how about the Ravens though? Real quick. One and two. That's it's kind of a surprise to me.
- 19:36But they've kind of been in. They're really in that Chiefs game. Right. Yeah.
- 19:41And then who did they play before the Raiders Raiders Raiders? That was the Raiders. I think was a fluke game. I think so.
- 19:46Trap game. I think so, too. And Derek Henry wasn't didn't look like himself at all.
- 19:51Now, can Derek Henry repeat this next week? You know, we'll see.
- 19:54Obviously, we'd like him to. I'd like him to. I'm not I don't have him in fantasy by any means, but they got a tough one coming up against Buffalo.
- 20:01You know, that's that's a prove it game for the Ravens against a Buffalo team that looks pretty darn good right now.
- 20:07Because then they follow the one and three if they lose that game. That's tough. And then travel to Cincinnati.
- 20:12Now, Cincinnati did not look good, but still, you never know.
- 20:16I mean, the Unders went nine and five this week. So currently, yeah, you know, it's it's early still football.
- 20:24Everyone's still trying to find their identity.
- 20:26So that's why I think some of these teams are, you know, completely changing like the commanders.
- 20:30There was a couple other teams that really just you're like the Panthers, you know, look at the look at the look at the look at the undefeated teams right now.
- 20:38The Vikings. No way. No way you've seen them going three and all right now.
- 20:42The Seahawks. I don't know who they played. No way they went three and all.
- 20:45And who's the other one other than the bills? Steelers. Yeah.
- 20:48Yeah. Justin. Justin Fields. Yes. You surprised me. Yeah. Come on.
- 20:52How's it feel to be a Bears fan right now?
- 20:54Oh, you know, that's the one great thing about the Ravens in their favor, though, is they have seen North trash this year.
- 21:01The Steelers are not a three and all team.
- 21:03You know, the offense is not a three and I like the Steelers defense is always going to be.
- 21:09But the Bengals are who the heck knows.
- 21:11And then the Browns, they look terrible, which is crazy because we were, you know, in our preseason show, we're talking up the AFC North like I feel like it's always been such a good division.
- 21:20It should be a great division. It should be close.
- 21:22Last year was insane.
- 21:24And I was around above five hundred in that division.
- 21:27I kind of expected to see a repeat of that.
- 21:29And it is not trending that way.
- 21:31No, it is not. Not trending that way. What a great football mind this table is.
- 21:34Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, no doubt.
- 21:37Keep listening to us. Here we go.
- 21:39Let's head right into the Bears traveling to Indianapolis.
- 21:43Mike, I'm going to go ahead and let you take this away.
- 21:46Not only do I want to know your opinion on the game, but let us know, you know, since you weren't here for any of the previous week,
- 21:53let us know what you're kind of looking for from the Colts this season.
- 21:56Now, knowing some of the injuries that have happened, you know,
- 22:00I'm sorry with that game. I mean, I think the biggest thing is
- 22:03a year ago when Anthony Richardson was drafted.
- 22:07Franchise me. Everyone's super excited.
- 22:11Excited. The ceiling is pretty pretty high.
- 22:15And there's no limit to how high how high he can go on this.
- 22:19And watching him play yesterday was that was not a franchise quarterback.
- 22:25He can't hit the short throws, can't hit the ones that you have to hit the four yard outs, anything below 10 yards.
- 22:33He is just so inaccurate.
- 22:35I think it was 52 percent for the game.
- 22:38But you think it's the speed of the game.
- 22:40Do you think he's still a little bit timid with the injury from last year?
- 22:45What I think I'm not questioning anybody.
- 22:47No, absolutely. I think it's an experience.
- 22:50After watching the Monday night game, Jaden Daniels played 55 games in college.
- 22:55Fifty five. That's a lot.
- 22:57That's so many games. And they were like high profile games.
- 23:00Yeah. He's playing for LSU. Yeah.
- 23:02And Anthony Richardson, I don't know the exact number, but he's played less than 20 games in the last three years.
- 23:09It's so little.
- 23:11And so that was the big risk with him was he doesn't have the experience.
- 23:15So I think part of me is still, hey, he just needs to get out there, learn the speed of the game, get some throws in against some real defenses, take some hits.
- 23:25Obviously, the injury last year, like huge disappointment missing out on another season, only playing three games last year.
- 23:32That's a lot of experience.
- 23:34And so, yeah, it's like you I watched Jaden Daniels.
- 23:37I'm like, that's who I want Anthony Richardson to be.
- 23:40He's had 55 games of college experience.
- 23:43Anthony Richardson's got to catch up to that now.
- 23:46So excited about the defense.
- 23:49Leighton Latu, Stripsack Fumble.
- 23:52Super exciting to see where his potential can go.
- 23:55I think he's going to be the edge rusher that the Colts have been missing since I'll go back to Dwight Freehne, probably Robert Mathis.
- 24:03You know, I'm not saying he's going to be that good.
- 24:05I'm just saying we haven't had anyone since then.
- 24:07Yeah, sure.
- 24:08I mean, if he turns into either of those players, amazing.
- 24:12I you know, that's super exciting to see Jonathan Taylor's back to a hundred.
- 24:18He's been a stud. Yep.
- 24:19Two hundred yard games in a row.
- 24:21Last time he did that was during the MVP season.
- 24:23You have him in fantasy.
- 24:24I do not have him in fantasy now.
- 24:26Our league is cutthroat.
- 24:28We I don't even think he was up for bed this year.
- 24:30No, he was a keeper.
- 24:31I heard you guys were talking smack before.
- 24:33Yeah, we played hotty.
- 24:35One of us won the week two game.
- 24:38So we'll see how your picks go this week.
- 24:43That is true. I'm excited to pick.
- 24:46But yeah, I think it's you know, this is going to be I thought this season could be a nine to 10 win season if everything turned out right.
- 24:53You know, the 0 and 2 start obviously puts a big damper on that.
- 24:56But we've still got a lot of young players and a lot of excitement.
- 25:00And I think we can we can compete for the wild card this year is probably our top end.
- 25:04But, you know, just getting Anthony Richardson, the experience is huge.
- 25:07One hundred percent. I mean, now, of course, I clicked off the page, but I'm pretty sure he went 10 for 20 passing and then another eight rushes.
- 25:14It's just yeah, I just I don't know.
- 25:17You're you're putting the ball in his hands. He's got to do something with it.
- 25:19The eight rushes he only garnered like I believe it was 24 yards like come on, come on.
- 25:24It's got to be something if you're not going to throw the darn ball.
- 25:26And he even said that at the end of the game, you know, hey, if I'm not throwing it correctly, you know, they talked about him pushing the running back into the end zone,
- 25:34calling out some some blisters that were coming for Jonathan Taylor.
- 25:39Taylor called said, hey, AR is helping me out on those.
- 25:42But yeah, he's got to throw the ball because you can't hand it off and become a one dimensional defense unless you're a one dimensional offense, unless you're playing the Cowboys.
- 25:50Or unless your defense is really, really good.
- 25:52And you can just, you know, our defense is not that good.
- 25:55And what if you're playing the Colts?
- 25:57Yeah.
- 25:58Oh, dang. But the Colts do got a big test this week.
- 26:04We'll touch on that later. But a game big game this week for the Colts on the Bears side of things.
- 26:10That's a disappointment. You know, if I'm a Bears fan now, you're seeing Caleb start taking better steps, though, better.
- 26:18I don't I am I am and I and I I want to hear your piece on this because I've been curious for a hot minute about Caleb Williams in general.
- 26:25But just I don't know. I think he's this is going to be crazy.
- 26:30But I feel like he's maturing a little bit.
- 26:34What how he's seeing the game and realizing it and how he's answering these questions at the end of the game.
- 26:39You can see some growth there, even in the first couple of weeks.
- 26:42I'll give you that. I'll give you that.
- 26:43And I mean, the guy still in thirty three for fifty two, which is that's a lot of throwing for three sixty three to tugs and to picks to picks are ugly again.
- 26:52But I don't know. I feel like he's improving at least a little bit.
- 26:57Who do they got next week? And then I and then I want to hear you go off on Caleb Williams because that was a pretty ugly face.
- 27:03They got the Rams who just pulled the crazy one off themselves.
- 27:07And it is so with no or tackles or any team is decimated.
- 27:15That was a both. That was a crazy game. But Caleb Williams, what's your take right now?
- 27:19Three weeks in with Team Rob, I would agree with you that he has he has matured just in the fact that he's not trying to run around like he was in the pack.
- 27:29Well, he's actually trying to like set his feet, look for that receiver, not try to be Superman.
- 27:33Now, that's in one game. But it's he for one, you can't ask a rookie quarterback to throw fifty two team fifty two times a game and win a game.
- 27:42That's just not a recipe for success in the NFL. But Caleb has looked pretty porous.
- 27:47He's looked really, really bad. I mean, he you can't make an excuse for talent.
- 27:52He has D.J. Moore, Roma, Dune's a Roma, Dune's a Malik, neighbors and Marvin Harris and we're all in consideration for the first receiver draft.
- 27:58Absolutely. Rome came out, had a game, 112 yards on six receptions.
- 28:01He proved why he was worthy of that draft stock. But Caleb hasn't.
- 28:05He he looks like he's still playing college football.
- 28:09I mean, you're not playing in the pack 12, but no, this is NFL football.
- 28:12You're not going to outrun edge defenders in the NFL. You're not going to run a lot of D tackles in the NFL.
- 28:17And it's tough to to prove that number one overall pick, because also I would say that Trevor Lawrence hasn't shown me enough to price.
- 28:25You know, Trevor Lawrence, Bryce Young, another one. Yeah.
- 28:27So I hear you on that front. It's it's just crazy watching like him process.
- 28:33Right. He's he seems to be processing the offense correctly.
- 28:36He's missing throws you don't miss with his caliber.
- 28:40The dude's loaded with potential. Nobody's going to argue that.
- 28:43But it's like, I don't know if he's too much in his mind and if he's trying to be too much.
- 28:47I don't know. I have a joke in one of my groups of threads that he's just too zesty.
- 28:51Yeah, he's just a zesty fella.
- 28:54So I don't know if it's like, like, I don't know, man.
- 28:57You look at it as just demeanor on the sideline. Right.
- 29:00It's like there's the the the side by side, like him and Justin Fields.
- 29:04And it's just like the look of a Bears quarterback.
- 29:07But he hasn't like when he was in UFC, he had the energy.
- 29:10He had the passion that does not seem to be there.
- 29:13His his last year there was different. But yeah, and I think more energy that I think that might be a part of it.
- 29:20Like his last year he's coming off winning the Heisman. He's on top of the world.
- 29:23He's the number one college quarterback.
- 29:25He would have been the number one quarterback drafted that year.
- 29:27So I don't know if that just got to his head and he can't get it out of it or what?
- 29:31Because I love to see it. Yeah. Packers fan.
- 29:34The Bears are the biggest rival we have. Sorry, Vikings fans.
- 29:37He just wants to be packed for my home's too much for me.
- 29:39He wants to dance. I watched the all 22 on it.
- 29:41I wanted to see all his receivers he missed and he missed a ton constantly.
- 29:46He was first read, eyes down, not scrambling.
- 29:49But offensive lineman is actually not helping him at all.
- 29:52No, they're rushing two point three average yards per carry.
- 29:56So that's almost like the Dallas scenario right now. It's all on his shoulder.
- 29:59So I'll give him a little bit of break there.
- 30:01But, you know, when you draft a top receiver like that in a second pick,
- 30:05do you think an offensive tackle or offensive guard would have looked real nice there instead?
- 30:09You already had Allen and Moore.
- 30:11So would that be a difference maker right there?
- 30:13So, yeah, Rome had a nice game, but they also chucked the ball 52 times.
- 30:19So I don't know. I'm still he's processing at the front at the line a little faster,
- 30:25but he's still missing reads all over the place and throws.
- 30:28And that's the thing being with Rome like, yeah, a good game.
- 30:30Six on or 112 on six catches targeted 11 times. Yeah.
- 30:34And he had like a 50 yard or one of them.
- 30:36So the other five catches were what? 70 yards. Exactly.
- 30:40So, yeah, it's I don't know, man.
- 30:42It's you're right. The lack of run game is you need that as a rookie quarterback.
- 30:47You can't like everyone in the NFL needs it.
- 30:49Like Malik Willis. Yeah. Like Malik Willis.
- 30:51He ain't doing anything he's doing in the air if the Packers aren't running like they are.
- 30:55Sure. And the thing with like the drafting a tackle, they did that last year.
- 31:00They got a right in the left tackle the last two years with Darnell Wright.
- 31:03And I think it's Braxton Jones.
- 31:06But they spent their draft capital on that the last two years and they've proven to be they have potential.
- 31:11So where's the running game then?
- 31:13I don't that sucks because Deandre Swift, some fantasy team.
- 31:18Droppable at this point. I started Jaleel McLaughlin over him.
- 31:21Right before we move on, the Bears have arguably four games as opportunity coming up.
- 31:28They play L.A. at home. The Rams L.A. at home this week.
- 31:32That could be tough from what we've seen somehow this year from the Rams.
- 31:36Carolina at home. Jacksonville at home.
- 31:40That's three straight home games in a row for the Bears.
- 31:43So they need to take advantage of those opportunities for sure.
- 31:46Then they go on by and then they travel to Washington.
- 31:49Yeah, we saw Washington play a heck of a game last night, honestly.
- 31:52But really good. You know, if the Bears defense is that good, that's a winnable game for them.
- 31:57So I think they got to be in that game.
- 31:59They got to at least go two and two in those games and those two wins better be Caroline and Jacksonville.
- 32:04If they want to get back into it, they need to go three and one.
- 32:07They need to take the two easy wins. Great.
- 32:09And I'm excited for that Bears Washington game.
- 32:12I mean, I think the top two picks.
- 32:14Nothing more exciting than watching the dude that got picked ahead of you.
- 32:18Yeah. Play against you.
- 32:20Jaden McDaniels is going to be on fire for that game, I'm sure. Oh, for sure.
- 32:23I mean, at this point, though, the Bears, they're not fighting for anything.
- 32:27They got six games against arguably the toughest division in the league in the NFC North.
- 32:31That's six losses at this point.
- 32:32Nobody's going to expect them to come close to competing with the division.
- 32:36They're going to beat either the Lions. So they're already at eight losses.
- 32:38I mean, they could beat one. They could win one of those five.
- 32:40The defense has keyed them in a bunch of games.
- 32:43Don't the Vikings always manage to lose at Chicago?
- 32:46Whoops. Whoops.
- 32:49We'll end that out real quick.
- 32:51Mike coming in here thinking he can talk about whatever he wants.
- 32:54Anyway, last game to recap really quick.
- 32:58This is the script here.
- 32:59Yeah, come on.
- 33:00Sorry, I got off script there.
- 33:01It's my microphone. My microphone's still working.
- 33:04But anyway, real quick, last game to recap. Kind of an interesting one.
- 33:08Eagles in New Orleans.
- 33:11Eagles pull that thing off 15 to 12. That was kind of an ugly one.
- 33:16There you go.
- 33:17I would say.
- 33:18Three zero and a half.
- 33:19I think for the Saints, I feel.
- 33:20What a boring game.
- 33:21But for the Saints, I don't feel that bad.
- 33:23Their offense was nonexistent compared to the weeks prior to this point.
- 33:28But you only lost to the Eagles by three points.
- 33:31But it's at home.
- 33:32I did expect the Saints to win this game, especially with the momentum they had coming into the game.
- 33:36And again, I don't think Jalen Hurts is on fire right now.
- 33:41The Eagles are in disarray.
- 33:43Yeah.
- 33:44From the end of last year even.
- 33:46Yeah, and we mentioned it last week.
- 33:48Did Jason Kelsey seriously hold that O-line together that hard?
- 33:52Because Jalen Hurts just feels like he doesn't have the time he should.
- 33:56Yes, he's still through for 300 yards, but.
- 33:58They're missing AJ Brown.
- 34:00Which is huge. That's huge.
- 34:02That's an offense.
- 34:03And I think was it this week that Devontae Smith took a nasty hit?
- 34:06He was still playing.
- 34:07He came back.
- 34:08He did come back?
- 34:09He came back.
- 34:10He had a decent game.
- 34:11Yeah.
- 34:12Back to the tight end, Goddard.
- 34:14I was going to say, Goddard had a crazy game.
- 34:16Goddard went off.
- 34:17That would have been a fantasy one.
- 34:18No touchdowns, but 170 yards.
- 34:20Philly's record for receiving yards as a tight end.
- 34:23Really?
- 34:24Philly record for.
- 34:25Philly record for.
- 34:26That surprised me, was Zach Gertz being there so long.
- 34:28Wow.
- 34:29For a tight end specifically?
- 34:30For a tight end specifically.
- 34:31Okay.
- 34:32Wow.
- 34:33Wow.
- 34:34And then you had Saquon almost do a King Henry.
- 34:35The same thing.
- 34:36147 yards.
- 34:37147 on 17 carries.
- 34:38What a start to the year for him.
- 34:39He had a long one in there.
- 34:40Yeah, it is 65 yards.
- 34:41Yeah.
- 34:42But then both of the touchdowns came in the second half in the fourth quarter.
- 34:48So that was the difference of the whole game.
- 34:50Yeah, still like you're about to say, you take that out, you're still almost at 100
- 34:53yards on 16.
- 34:54Oh yeah.
- 34:55Hey, I have Barkley in fantasy.
- 34:56I ain't mad about any of those.
- 34:57I bet.
- 34:58I bet.
- 34:59Can I still beat you?
- 35:00I'm still a little higher he says.
- 35:02But yeah, for me, maybe just a little off game for the Saints, see if they can rebound.
- 35:06Again, I didn't expect the Saints to do anything this year.
- 35:09So the fact that they did what they did to Dallas really surprised me.
- 35:12So who do they got next?
- 35:14Eagles D kind of showed up today.
- 35:16They did.
- 35:17Then Carter, Jaylen Carter played a heck of a game.
- 35:19That dude's a dog.
- 35:20That dude's a dog.
- 35:21Well, we all thought he was, but he hasn't really showed out since he's been drafted.
- 35:26Oh, last year he was-
- 35:27Couple games.
- 35:28He was the rookie of the year last year.
- 35:30Interesting.
- 35:31I guess I didn't watch enough Eagles games last year.
- 35:32It was more towards the end of the year.
- 35:33The last half of the season, he was just on an absolute tear.
- 35:35That dude's a monster.
- 35:36That's when the Bikes played him.
- 35:37He didn't do anything.
- 35:38No, but I'm telling you, that Eagles defense just made, I'm just so sold on it.
- 35:42You love them.
- 35:43You're so sold on the idea of what they did to build that young defense.
- 35:46All those new cornerbacks they got.
- 35:47All from already a championship winning team.
- 35:49I'm sold on it.
- 35:50Just give them time to marinate.
- 35:51I know I keep saying it, but-
- 35:53Zach Bond, the addition of Zach Bond on that defense has been huge too.
- 35:57It was a get back game for Bond too because he was on the Saints.
- 36:01He was all over the field against the Packers.
- 36:03I don't know, a little close to home there being a Badger.
- 36:09Yeah.
- 36:10He's really had a good year.
- 36:12At the end they made it tight.
- 36:14Carr had a really bad interception on the last position too, like in Carr fashion.
- 36:19You're like, oh, we just got to kick a field goal.
- 36:22We have 50 seconds on the clock.
- 36:24Let me chuck one down the middle real quick to hope and pray on second and five.
- 36:30Don't worry, it's Derek Carr versus Kirk Cousins next week.
- 36:34That's who they play.
- 36:35They go to Atlanta.
- 36:36I wonder if the Saints will be able to handle that.
- 36:38What's Atlanta's record?
- 36:39Are they one and two or two and one?
- 36:41Atlanta is one and two.
- 36:43One and two?
- 36:44That's a tough one and two.
- 36:46Atlanta's played a little bit better than I thought as well at this point in the season.
- 36:50It's a tough one and two.
- 36:51I'll give them that, but they're all in two at home.
- 36:54The Eagles are their only win.
- 36:58But then they played the Chiefs real close this past week.
- 37:01They should have beat the Steelers.
- 37:03They look great game against the Chiefs.
- 37:05And then a great game against, that's what I mean.
- 37:07It's a tough one and two.
- 37:08It's a tough one and two.
- 37:09They had two fourth downs that they didn't convert if either one of them goes their way.
- 37:14We're going to be talking about a third down here in a minute.
- 37:16I just love seeing Bijan get the ball.
- 37:18Finally.
- 37:19God, it's so relieving.
- 37:20I didn't have him in fantasy last year or this year.
- 37:22It's just like, get that dude the ball.
- 37:25He's fun to watch.
- 37:26He really is.
- 37:27He's like a Barkley with more athleticism.
- 37:29If that's possible.
- 37:31A little bit more power.
- 37:33Maybe more power than athleticism I would say.
- 37:36But it's like that dude just looks like a wrecking ball.
- 37:39He does.
- 37:40He's elite.
- 37:41His one cut.
- 37:42It's like Derek Henry and Barkley combined.
- 37:44Yeah, his one cut, he has so much explosiveness out of that one cut that he just leaves people
- 37:49just fending for their Jackstrap.
- 37:51Yeah, it's cool to watch, man.
- 37:54It's also cool seeing a running back number seven.
- 37:56I just find that neat.
- 37:57I mean he's also, he's thick, man.
- 38:00He's a big boy.
- 38:015'11", 215.
- 38:02He's a big boy.
- 38:03He will run you over.
- 38:04He's a big boy.
- 38:05He will run you over.
- 38:06And they can spell him with Algier.
- 38:07They've got a great backup.
- 38:08For sure.
- 38:09And Bijan's even talked about it's great to get a breather on those longer drives.
- 38:13Yeah, and you're not necessarily worried about too much with Algier going in the game.
- 38:17He didn't have a bad season.
- 38:21But moving right along here just to update the standings for this past week, our guest
- 38:28Ben from last week went two and three.
- 38:30Rob, two and three.
- 38:33Yours truly, three and two.
- 38:34And Matt, Matt going four and one.
- 38:37That was Matt.
- 38:38Matt going four and one.
- 38:39Fire it up for you, buddy.
- 38:40Yeah, fire up, Matt.
- 38:41Fire it up, Matt.
- 38:42And then Jake, who was our guest from the first couple weeks, he ended up going two
- 38:45and three.
- 38:46So on the season, I'm leading, believe it or not, at nine and six.
- 38:52We all know that.
- 38:53Rob, right in second place, eight and seven.
- 38:56Jake at six and nine.
- 38:57Matt at six and four.
- 38:59And Ben, since it was his last week, last week, two and three will be his season standings
- 39:02at the moment.
- 39:03I will be sending Jake, Matt, Ben, all of the picks so we can keep this thing rolling
- 39:09with them as well, as well as Mike now and Tyler, who do not have any season standings
- 39:14at the moment.
- 39:15But they will next week.
- 39:16They're perfect so far.
- 39:17Yeah.
- 39:18I haven't missed a pick yet.
- 39:19Well, yeah, I mean, if you're open, you still don't have a win percentage.
- 39:22Sorry, my brain was like, yeah, they've got a great win percentage.
- 39:25Well, you can't have a win percentage if you don't win anything.
- 39:29But anyway, moving on again, another week in a row that I'm bad at math and it shows.
- 39:34All right.
- 39:35So with that, Kev.
- 39:36What about the Excel sheet that will do the math for you?
- 39:37What's up?
- 39:38Yeah.
- 39:39Well, I got to figure that out too.
- 39:40So with that, Kev, let's head right into our 10 talk.
- 39:49And starting right off with the injuries, we'll just go right down the list here.
- 39:54Brock Purdy got an MRI revealed, pretty much nothing.
- 39:58He's day to day though with some back soreness.
- 40:00Got to have them.
- 40:02Chargers are screwed this week.
- 40:05Both Chargers offensive tackles.
- 40:07Joel, Rashawn Slater, both to miss the game against the Chiefs.
- 40:11Herbert right now with a high ankle sprain, re aggravated that thing.
- 40:14So he's probably questionable.
- 40:19Heinecky will probably start for him if Herbert can't go.
- 40:22So probably not the end of the world for the Chargers, but still you'd rather have Justin
- 40:25Herbert out there.
- 40:26Sam Darnold went down in the Vikes game.
- 40:29We were all holding our breath as Nick Mullins ran onto the field, but Sam Darnold's MRI
- 40:33was clean.
- 40:34So he just got a little bruise in the knee, but he'll be alright.
- 40:37Thank you football guys.
- 40:38Looking to start next week.
- 40:40I'll throw it to Tyler at the end of this to give us a little Jordan Love update, so
- 40:43I'll move on.
- 40:45Skyler Thompson went down with a rib injury for the Dolphins.
- 40:50It's iffy if Skyler can go.
- 40:53If he can't, their options most likely are going to be Tim Boyle or Tyler Huntley.
- 40:57Good luck.
- 40:58I think there's only one answer there.
- 41:01Yeah, yeah.
- 41:03Orfit.
- 41:04Yeah, right.
- 41:06After last night's game, Bengals offensive tackle Trent Brown done for the season after
- 41:11tearing his partilater tendon.
- 41:12That sucks.
- 41:13That's a big loss.
- 41:14Adam Thielin.
- 41:15Love Adam Thielin.
- 41:16Placed on IR with a hamstring injury.
- 41:21So what jumps out, but before we do that, what's our Jordan Love update?
- 41:25We don't have much.
- 41:26We don't have much.
- 41:27Perfect.
- 41:28Lefleur came over today and said that they're doing everything they can to get him to play
- 41:32this week.
- 41:33It's obviously a huge game, but it was kind of he started practicing in limited participation
- 41:38last week.
- 41:39He started yesterday's practice as limited participation.
- 41:42Now, we don't know what that means.
- 41:44That could mean that he's actually on the field study, like going over reps with the
- 41:47team.
- 41:48They're not going to release that.
- 41:49There's no media coverage on that aspect of it.
- 41:51So we'll see.
- 41:52I mean, it looks like all signs pointed are pointed towards him playing.
- 41:55But if he's not 100 percent, 100 percent, would you start this week?
- 42:00I would say if he is over 75 percent, I would start him.
- 42:05I like my chances with the 75 percent Jordan Love over a limited Packers offense with Malik
- 42:09Willis.
- 42:10Seen great things out of Malik Willis, but we're not playing.
- 42:13Sorry.
- 42:14The Colts are the Titans.
- 42:17I mean, this is a pivotal game.
- 42:18It's a division game.
- 42:19Mike's like, I'm not coming back next week.
- 42:23It's a pivotal game in the division right now.
- 42:24And the way this defense is, the Vikings defense is playing, I mean, we need we need all hands
- 42:28on deck.
- 42:29You know, like I said, I've loved what I've seen in Willis, but we I'll take a 75 percent
- 42:33love.
- 42:34It does.
- 42:35That's it.
- 42:36I mean, with with love having the full playbook, even if that that playbook won't be full,
- 42:39it'll be limited.
- 42:40Just the overall knowledge of where every receiver is going on every route.
- 42:43Do you have all these plays open to you?
- 42:46Got to get creative against this floor as defense loves in the game.
- 42:49They're going to bring pressure.
- 42:50So well, we're getting into the preview for the next game here.
- 42:53But I mean, it's just a whole different ballgame when you got when you got Malik Willis in
- 42:57there, you put, you know, seven, eight in the box and you just you trust that Vikings
- 43:01secondary to go and beat these young receivers.
- 43:03Hopefully the floor can get them open.
- 43:05But I mean, I think we need to score 21 to 24 points to have a hanging chance in this
- 43:09game.
- 43:10Oh, we'll see if he plays.
- 43:12Oh snap.
- 43:13All signs are pointed towards him, him playing as much as they'll say that.
- 43:19Right.
- 43:20Yeah.
- 43:21Everything so I have a feeling he's not going to I think he'll play.
- 43:22I think he'll play.
- 43:23I think two and two here.
- 43:24I think he'll play like a slight.
- 43:27Just putting it in like love's mindset, right?
- 43:30Like huge game in the season.
- 43:31Like he's going to do everything he can to want to play in that game.
- 43:33I think if he doesn't play as a doctor's decision or team decision.
- 43:37Fair enough.
- 43:38Fair enough.
- 43:39Nothing else really sticks out to me other than the Chargers are probably going to lose
- 43:41the Chiefs this week.
- 43:42But again, we'll get into that in our preview as that will be one of the games we're previewing.
- 43:48So great on Sam Darnold.
- 43:50We'll see him this week.
- 43:51But other than that, we'll just head right into our news here.
- 43:55So before we get on that there.
- 43:56So great on Sam MRI clean, even with like soreness or the limited mobility there.
- 44:01I mean, that could be big too.
- 44:04He'll be all right.
- 44:06He'll be a higher percentage.
- 44:08Sounds like the Vikings fans just think the quarterbacks are fine just how they are.
- 44:14Yeah.
- 44:15Darnold's 100, love is zero.
- 44:17Got it.
- 44:18Got it.
- 44:19That's where this is at.
- 44:20That's what we're going with.
- 44:21That's what we're going with.
- 44:24To start off the news during James Jr. for the Chargers suspended one game for a hit he
- 44:29had on Pat Friarmooth.
- 44:30It's not just that hit though.
- 44:32It's repeated failure to like follow the NFL's like safety rules or something like how they
- 44:36termed it.
- 44:37Yeah.
- 44:38Just like is this dude just a headhunter or what?
- 44:39He's a repeated offender.
- 44:41Which he didn't.
- 44:42He hasn't always done.
- 44:43That's kind of a newer development for him.
- 44:45He'll come down and hit you hard.
- 44:46But it's a little bit different now.
- 44:4815 years ago this isn't a thing.
- 44:49Yeah, yeah.
- 44:50100%.
- 44:51100%.
- 44:52Bring it back.
- 44:53I just wanted to mention this.
- 44:55I don't know if it's really worth it but Bryce Young is expected to start again this season
- 44:59according to Ian Rapoport.
- 45:00Who cares?
- 45:01Does that even matter?
- 45:03I mean for Bryce Young on a personal level for sure it does.
- 45:06Does it?
- 45:07Do you want to play?
- 45:08That's just a confidence.
- 45:09Probably not for the Panthers.
- 45:10Probably not for the Panthers.
- 45:11Isn't that just a confidence saying that like someone in the organization is like I'm going
- 45:15to leak this out too?
- 45:16You know who it's not?
- 45:17You know who's not saying that?
- 45:18David Tepper.
- 45:19Exactly.
- 45:20That's the thing.
- 45:21Is it a confidence?
- 45:22Is somebody in that organization going to try to build this confidence?
- 45:24Well, no.
- 45:25If you want to trade them you're going to be like yeah.
- 45:28If Skyler Thompson's injured do the Dolphins go after Bryce Young?
- 45:33I don't think they would.
- 45:34You would have to offer so much draft capital being one year off of the first overall pick.
- 45:38I don't think Carolina's going to charge that much.
- 45:42You have to.
- 45:43He's the number one pick last year.
- 45:45Stafford to Miami.
- 45:47Bryce Young to the run.
- 45:48It's to the Rams.
- 45:49And then draft picks over to the Panthers.
- 45:54I don't think Miami is happy.
- 45:57They're going to get Stafford.
- 45:58Yeah, I think Miami is happy.
- 45:59Why would LA do that?
- 46:00Well, because they're already hurt.
- 46:04Is there a season?
- 46:05They're 2-1-1.
- 46:06Well, I don't know how.
- 46:07They're 2-1-1.
- 46:08They just beat the Niners.
- 46:09They've got Sean McVeigh.
- 46:10They're always going to have a chance.
- 46:11Maybe in the offseason.
- 46:12But it's kind of a reset for them too if they did go that way.
- 46:18Last year, everybody thought it was going to be a reset and they damn near made it.
- 46:20They did make the playoffs.
- 46:21They did make the playoffs.
- 46:22With the late run, right?
- 46:23I don't think resets in McVeigh's vocabulary.
- 46:27I don't think LA says yes to that at all.
- 46:30And they gave up so much to get Stafford.
- 46:31True, but if they got something back though.
- 46:33Yeah, they got a Super Bowl.
- 46:35Price and a draft pick.
- 46:37I don't think the Panthers are considering a Bryce Young trick.
- 46:41You can't.
- 46:42Think of what they gave up to get Bryce Young.
- 46:46They did give up a lot.
- 46:50I would hope for the Panthers that they're not giving up that early on Bryce Young.
- 46:54If it's not for two first rounders, why would you make that trade?
- 46:56And who's giving up two first rounders?
- 46:58He's like a fourth rounder.
- 47:01Maybe a second rounder.
- 47:03Maybe a second.
- 47:04I don't know.
- 47:05If somebody's offering you a first round draft pick for Bryce Young right now, that's tough.
- 47:10That's tough, man.
- 47:11That's tough.
- 47:12I think if somebody offers one first rounder, I think they take it.
- 47:15Because let's say they wait and now you're next season and if Bryce Young's the same
- 47:18player, you're not getting first round draft pick for him next season.
- 47:21So if somebody calls at the right price, maybe they do take that.
- 47:25I just don't see anybody giving that much up.
- 47:27I don't think they would.
- 47:28Miami would though.
- 47:29They're the desperate one.
- 47:30Right.
- 47:31Miami is built to win right now.
- 47:32But think of who they could get a proven backup in the league right now.
- 47:37Like a Ryan Tanahill, a Joe Flagg.
- 47:39I think they believe in Skyler Thompson.
- 47:42If he's healthy, that was a nasty hit.
- 47:45I mean, he's hurting.
- 47:46He's hurting.
- 47:47I don't know.
- 47:48I mean, if I'm a Dolphin fan, I want some kind of move.
- 47:53But he's calling for Joe Flacco.
- 47:55But is, yeah, okay.
- 47:56If I'm a Dolphin fan, I do not want Bryce Young.
- 47:59I was just wondering if they would do it.
- 48:01But yeah, I mean, I want somebody like.
- 48:02I'll take a Mitch Trabisky right now.
- 48:04Yeah.
- 48:05Tanahill, Trabisky.
- 48:06What's his name out there?
- 48:07Russell Wilson.
- 48:08Russell Wilson was the other one out there.
- 48:11See that that'd be a move for Miami.
- 48:13Yeah.
- 48:14If I'm Pittsburgh, I'm entertaining that.
- 48:16What else are you going to get out of Russell?
- 48:17Justin Fields won you three games.
- 48:18Yeah.
- 48:19And he's like 10 years younger.
- 48:20Yeah.
- 48:21The only problem with Russell Wilson, it's so the Dolphins is a timing throwing offense.
- 48:25And I don't think he's a timing throwing quarterback.
- 48:28But he likes a scamper.
- 48:30He likes to make plays on his feet.
- 48:32He doesn't see in Madden an improviser.
- 48:34Yeah, exactly.
- 48:37Even that, though, if he's put in a system that just requires him to hit that target,
- 48:41that's open because you're throwing to the two fastest players in the NFL.
- 48:45But in any system, that's always throw it to the open receiver and Kayla Williams still
- 48:48doesn't do that.
- 48:50But let's look at experience here.
- 48:52That was the first name that came to mind.
- 48:55But that would be interesting, though, if like Pittsburgh would entertain that.
- 48:58I don't know why they wouldn't.
- 48:59But Miami's got to do something.
- 49:01They got to do something.
- 49:02They have a team ready to win now.
- 49:04They do.
- 49:05No offense.
- 49:06Yeah, you can't send Tim Boyle out there.
- 49:07No.
- 49:08But moving on to something that probably will not be a debate.
- 49:12This might be short.
- 49:13Kansas City at Atlanta this week, kind of a late no call as far as like late in the game
- 49:18on a third and five from a six yard line about four minutes left.
- 49:22Looked like a clear P.I. to me.
- 49:23I mean, who was it?
- 49:24Drake London was the receiver.
- 49:25No, Pitz.
- 49:26It was Pitz.
- 49:27OK, yeah.
- 49:28I mean, he was getting pretty much tackled before the ball even was near him.
- 49:31Was that P.I.?
- 49:32Nah, I don't play.
- 49:33I'm just kidding.
- 49:34It was for sure.
- 49:35P.I. for sure.
- 49:38He didn't turn his head.
- 49:42He never looked for it.
- 49:47It's just another instance of the refs being on KC's side.
- 49:49I mean, it's like I hate to say that and talk about it, but it's so many constant occurrences
- 49:54at this point where it has to be talked about.
- 49:55I didn't even want to bring that up.
- 49:58Because like I think the Chiefs are good again, as I said a couple of weeks ago, I think the
- 50:02Chiefs could actually three-peat.
- 50:04But it does suck to see that type of no-call.
- 50:09It does.
- 50:10It does make you question it.
- 50:13It makes you question it.
- 50:15And there's never been a three-peat in the NFL and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 50:19And we can just, you know.
- 50:20You want them to earn it if they earn it.
- 50:22Things roll downhill.
- 50:23You saying Goodell's a Swifty, bro?
- 50:26Hey, man, he could be.
- 50:28He could be.
- 50:29He could be.
- 50:30And right before we move on from news, I got something I got to throw in there really quick
- 50:33for old time's sake.
- 50:35How's our Rogers watch looking, buddy?
- 50:38Rogers watch?
- 50:39Well, that's less of a concern nowadays.
- 50:42But pretty damn good if you watch that last game.
- 50:45Yeah.
- 50:46Yeah.
- 50:47Not bad.
- 50:48I'm glad to see him back in the league, back performing.
- 50:51I've always loved Rogers.
- 50:52I think it was one of the smartest things he could do is venture outside of Green Bay
- 50:56from what that was given to him.
- 50:57It sucks.
- 50:58But I'm not too unhappy now with number 10.
- 51:02I bet not.
- 51:03It makes it a lot easier.
- 51:04I can tell you that much.
- 51:05I bet not.
- 51:06We're annoyed.
- 51:07Yeah.
- 51:08Us Vikings fans are annoyed.
- 51:09Well, we kind of missed out on him now.
- 51:11You think about the far back in the day, one year at the Jets did horrible.
- 51:15Well, last year he got hurt so he didn't have a chance to do bad.
- 51:18Sam Darnold got one year here.
- 51:21But I don't think.
- 51:22I mean, you got Sam Darnold.
- 51:23Well, true.
- 51:24For this season.
- 51:25Oh, I know.
- 51:26So how you guys feel?
- 51:27I was.
- 51:28That'll be another time.
- 51:29All right.
- 51:30All right.
- 51:31Fair enough.
- 51:32Fair enough.
- 51:33I mean, I think Roger's watch is looking good.
- 51:35Number eight is looking good.
- 51:37Not green, though.
- 51:38I don't know.
- 51:39It looks weird.
- 51:40It's weird.
- 51:41Green.
- 51:42It looks weird.
- 51:43Yeah, he looks weird in that green.
- 51:44Can't say that I tune into the Rogers Tuesday on the Mac if he show much anymore.
- 51:48You don't know.
- 51:49No point.
- 51:50No point.
- 51:51Anyway, with that, let's move on to bonehead move of the week.
- 51:55So the first I got two quick boneheads.
- 52:07The first one actually happened at the Vikings game, of course, right at the end of the game.
- 52:14We got fans fighting in the stands, which is wild for Minnesota.
- 52:17I know.
- 52:18I don't think I've ever seen a video of fans fighting at a Minnesota game.
- 52:22But Minnesota, Houston fan made it happen.
- 52:26Made it happen.
- 52:27So disappointing for me.
- 52:29So that's just a personal bonehead move of the week.
- 52:31But the real bonehead move of the week, honestly, for me, came from Bengals defensive back Cam
- 52:38Taylor Britt as last week he was talking.
- 52:42All this talk before the commander's game on how they're a nice college offense.
- 52:47And Jane Daniels lit them up.
- 52:50Lit them up.
- 52:51And honestly, what's the coach there?
- 52:55What team?
- 52:56Zach Taylor.
- 52:57Zach Taylor was pretty disappointed in the comments.
- 52:59That's not what we do.
- 53:00You know, we're humble in our wins and our losses, but we don't talk before the game.
- 53:04So he's pretty disappointed in that.
- 53:07But how do you guys feel about the chirp and before the game just to go out there and take
- 53:11the L?
- 53:12I don't know.
- 53:13You got to be confident, right?
- 53:14Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:15Especially as a DB, I liked a little bit, you know, a little swag or two.
- 53:18But it's a DB thing to do, man.
- 53:19DB's the receivers.
- 53:20They're two weeks.
- 53:21So I can't really.
- 53:22That interception he had was absurd.
- 53:24Catch of the year so far.
- 53:25Yeah.
- 53:26So like he's kind of he's two for one right now.
- 53:28We'll give him that.
- 53:29You're cutting him slack.
- 53:30Yeah, I am.
- 53:31You're cutting him slack.
- 53:32I like a little bit.
- 53:33He's out of bone.
- 53:34Not everyone needs to be friends.
- 53:35Fair enough.
- 53:36No, I think that.
- 53:37The cool thing is he doubled down.
- 53:38Yeah.
- 53:39After he doubled down, he's like, I wasn't saying it was like a shot at him.
- 53:40Just saying it's a college style offense.
- 53:41And it's like, buddy, buddy, you got to see.
- 53:44You all got exposed.
- 53:45Yeah.
- 53:46Yeah.
- 53:4721 of 23.
- 53:48But it's Cliff Kingsbury.
- 53:49It is a college offense.
- 53:50It is.
- 53:51100 percent.
- 53:52It's not like he was not telling the truth.
- 53:54Why would you do anything else?
- 53:55We're not talking about that part.
- 53:56We're not talking about that part.
- 53:57All right.
- 53:58Sorry.
- 53:59I mean, I'm with Rob, though.
- 54:01I like it.
- 54:02Bring the shit talk back.
- 54:03All right.
- 54:04I like hearing it.
- 54:05But if you get 38 dropped on you, I want to hear what you have to say now.
- 54:09Yeah.
- 54:10Yeah.
- 54:11Which he accepted it.
- 54:12He accepted it.
- 54:13He was like, hey, it is what it is.
- 54:14You know, I said it.
- 54:15I still stand by it.
- 54:16You know, he accepted it.
- 54:17But yeah, no, I just thought it was funny.
- 54:18I thought it was funny.
- 54:19But that is week four's bonehead move of the week.
- 54:38And to start off week four, right?
- 54:41We're in week four.
- 54:42Yes, we are.
- 54:43We are.
- 54:44We are in week four.
- 54:45We're part of the way down, almost.
- 54:46So Vikings traveling to Lambeau banner with the boys game of the week.
- 54:51That's going to be tough.
- 54:53That's going to be tough.
- 54:54And honestly, I want to start with you on me.
- 54:57I'm glad the games in Lambeau with the obvious injury that we have to our quarterback.
- 55:06I think it's going to be a really, really, really close game, regardless of who's the
- 55:10quarterback, just because I believe that much in the floor system.
- 55:14I'm excited to see what our defense is going to do against what's turned out to be a top
- 55:18tier offense this year.
- 55:20I think the biggest thing that's going to be a deciding factor in this game on the defensive
- 55:24side of the ball for the Packers is how much pressure we get on Darnold.
- 55:27He really hasn't been pressured this year.
- 55:28Your offensive line's played great.
- 55:30Two best left tackles in football.
- 55:33That's very arguable, but let's just go past that.
- 55:38I'm still not taking anybody above Trent Williams at left hand.
- 55:42All right, second best.
- 55:43We'll take Zach in there.
- 55:47But what it's going to come down to is how much pressure we can get on the quarterback
- 55:50and if we can get these timely turnovers.
- 55:52Right.
- 55:53Xavier McKinney has been on fire.
- 55:54Let's see if we can get one on the back end.
- 55:56And if Malik Willis starts, it's going to be a heavy run game with that intermediate
- 55:59passing.
- 56:00But I am going to take my Packers.
- 56:01Going to take your Packers.
- 56:04Rob?
- 56:05Close game, though.
- 56:06I really do think it's going to be a really, really good game.
- 56:08Yeah, I think it's going to be a really good game.
- 56:10So especially if Willis starts, you're going to get a lot of those quick passes that I
- 56:15think kind of counters Flores' pressure.
- 56:19It's hard to get pressure on when the ball goes out of hand.
- 56:22I think that was an advantage last week that Stroud and them, they like run deeper routes.
- 56:27So I think it's all about Jacobs, whether they can get him run.
- 56:30The Vikings been a little bit sus on stopping the run a little bit.
- 56:34Vikings off and so on the other side, establishing the run.
- 56:37And I mean, I'd really like to have Addison and Hawkinson full force against in this game.
- 56:42What's Addison's status this week?
- 56:45Probably out.
- 56:46I haven't heard any whispers of him actually playing at all.
- 56:49No, they're injured on my fantasy team.
- 56:51So but yeah, I think it's going to be a close game.
- 56:54But it's really hard to predict without knowing what quarterback is going to start.
- 56:58It's going to be a lot easier.
- 56:59But that's tough, though, too, just because of like regardless of like it's such a different
- 57:03offense with who's that quarterback.
- 57:05Yeah.
- 57:06But the other way, though, is if if love is and then they run a little longer, deeper
- 57:10routes, does that play more into the Vikings defense is they have to pass protect for longer
- 57:16against a very confusing scheme style of defense.
- 57:20So I'm going I'm going vikes for sure on this game, but it's going to be it's going to be
- 57:25a barn burner.
- 57:26So I'm excited.
- 57:27It's going to be fun.
- 57:28According to KLC, whatever this means to you, he is optimistic that Addison will play on
- 57:33Sunday.
- 57:34Play a little head games.
- 57:35I mean, Packers are doing that with love.
- 57:36We can do it back now.
- 57:38Absolutely.
- 57:39Yeah.
- 57:40Mike, what we got?
- 57:41Yeah, I mean, this is definitely in contention for Game of the Week this week.
- 57:44I think this and Bill's Ravens are probably what I'm most excited for.
- 57:49I think it does come down to who plays quarterback for the Packers.
- 57:52I think if Malik starts the Vikings win, if love starts, I think the Packers win.
- 57:57I think love will start.
- 57:58So I'm going to go with Packers.
- 57:59Oh, I don't think that's correct.
- 58:02Mike will not be back next week.
- 58:05No new unscheduled guests will be here.
- 58:08New guest.
- 58:09Yeah, I got to go Vikes.
- 58:13But I mean, it's I agree it's going to be tough.
- 58:16I like what you were starting to say earlier with Jordan Love in the game.
- 58:20If Jordan Love plays, Flores is sending the pressure.
- 58:22He's going to test out.
- 58:23Oh, what's the injury?
- 58:24Is it his knee?
- 58:25I can't remember.
- 58:26Test out his mobility.
- 58:27Yeah.
- 58:28Yeah.
- 58:29It's an MCO.
- 58:30Give him a test, make sure he see how mobile he actually is.
- 58:36Adjust from there and then attack that Jordan Love plays.
- 58:39So even if Jordan Love plays for me, the only thing they have going for him is Lambeau is
- 58:43a tough place to play.
- 58:45But yeah, I got I got to go Vikes no matter who's starting at quarterback this week.
- 58:50Got one name to say that's my X factor for the Packers in this game, and it's Tucker
- 58:54Kraft.
- 58:55Tucker Kraft.
- 58:56Not just his ability to play that intermediate short passing game.
- 58:59But if Flores is bringing that pressure, we're going to have to offset that edge and he's
- 59:03going to have to chip and help in the run game.
- 59:05Interesting.
- 59:06Interesting.
- 59:07And I don't know.
- 59:08So for his chipping and his his overall pass pro and helping out with that than his overall
- 59:10production in terms of stats.
- 59:12But Tucker Kraft, Tucker Kraft, Tucker Kraft, X Factor for the Vikes.
- 59:15Yeah.
- 59:16Is there any injuries for the Packers that any, you know, are, you know, not obviously
- 59:20love, but anything else that we, you know, you got alignment or anybody that's, you know,
- 59:25questionable or anything like that?
- 59:27I guess I didn't look into their injury report.
- 59:29So Jordan Morgan, our first round pick this year, went down in the the the week two game
- 59:33against the Colts.
- 59:34He didn't play.
- 59:35I don't believe any snaps last week.
- 59:36He might play this week, but he's not a starter anyway.
- 59:38I do like him at right guard over Sean Ryan.
- 59:40I'm not a fan of him.
- 59:42Rashid Walker went down last game.
- 59:44Believe he did come back in the game.
- 59:45He's a starting left tackle.
- 59:46OK.
- 59:47But outside of that, no.
- 59:48I mean, like pretty clean knock on wood.
- 59:51The Packers have been one of the few teams in the NFL along.
- 59:53Well, Vikings got Addison, but and hockey, too, like one of the few teams in the NFL
- 59:57that are actually like healthy right now.
- 1:00:00We don't have any starters.
- 1:00:02Larry and other ones.
- 1:00:04Other than Jay, the huge one.
- 1:00:05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:06But no, which is wild because the Packers have historically always been hurt.
- 1:00:10Like every year we get something.
- 1:00:12I don't know what the area was injured for like five years and we don't need to bring
- 1:00:15that name.
- 1:00:16Five years and you're all getting paid.
- 1:00:17Let's just remove that memory from the like I've made fun of the Vikings.
- 1:00:21I got some your way.
- 1:00:22So you're going Vikings.
- 1:00:23Is that what I'm getting out of that?
- 1:00:24Absolutely not.
- 1:00:25He's changing it.
- 1:00:26All right.
- 1:00:27All right.
- 1:00:28Pittsburgh traveling to Indianapolis.
- 1:00:29Mike, I'm glad you take this.
- 1:00:30All right.
- 1:00:31Absolutely.
- 1:00:32I mean, I don't see the Pittsburgh starting the season for now.
- 1:00:38It's a home game.
- 1:00:39Anthony Richardson knows he played like trash last week.
- 1:00:42He's got to he's got to have a game that redeems himself.
- 1:00:46And so I think that's this game.
- 1:00:48I don't think he's going to throw it 50 times like Caleb Williams did.
- 1:00:52I think they're still going to feed Jonathan Taylor and but they're going to mix in and
- 1:00:57Anthony Richardson is going to perform.
- 1:00:59I see Richardson having two touchdowns, you know, a solid 65 percent completion and getting
- 1:01:05it done versus the Steelers.
- 1:01:08How many turnovers can they have and still win?
- 1:01:14I think they can have they can have one.
- 1:01:17One one.
- 1:01:18So if they get to two and then if they get to two, then the defense needs.
- 1:01:22Like they got to be plus one.
- 1:01:24OK, they got to be plus one.
- 1:01:25So if we have one, then we got to get two from them.
- 1:01:29All right.
- 1:01:30All right.
- 1:01:31I feel that.
- 1:01:32So yeah, I think two would just be too much to overcome for the Colts right now.
- 1:01:34Yeah.
- 1:01:35I mean, with the way the offense is playing, you know, Michael Pittman hasn't gotten going
- 1:01:40beyond a couple of 40 and 50 yard passes, which are great.
- 1:01:45You know, nobody has really gotten anything in the receiving game.
- 1:01:49So we you know, I'd love to just see 10 catches for 100 yards for Pittman.
- 1:01:54Like I have more receptions.
- 1:01:56You know, let's just get it out there.
- 1:01:58And ten yard curls.
- 1:02:00Exactly.
- 1:02:01Yep.
- 1:02:02It does.
- 1:02:03I mean, Anthony Richardson can throw the ball.
- 1:02:04And I think that, you know, we do need a couple of those plays every game, but we've got to
- 1:02:09have the five to 15 yard completions in there.
- 1:02:12For sure.
- 1:02:13For sure.
- 1:02:14We'll go back the other way then.
- 1:02:15So me, I'm taking the Colts all day.
- 1:02:18I think.
- 1:02:19I don't know.
- 1:02:20The Colts at home is just a good feeling for me.
- 1:02:24And I also agree.
- 1:02:25I don't think the Steelers are going to start the season for now.
- 1:02:27They got to come back to earth at some point, which is why I almost took the Packers, but
- 1:02:30just can't do it.
- 1:02:31My soul can't do it.
- 1:02:32That'll work.
- 1:02:33You can't pick against your own team.
- 1:02:34No, I'm not going to happen.
- 1:02:35I want to say no, buddy.
- 1:02:36But yeah, no, I think I think the Colts will be able to take it to them.
- 1:02:40But I kind of agree with that.
- 1:02:41I mean, over over one turnover would be a problem.
- 1:02:44It would be a problem for the Colts this week.
- 1:02:47Rob.
- 1:02:48Yeah, this is a tough one.
- 1:02:49I mean, I feel like this is almost like if you flip Chicago and Pittsburgh in this scenario,
- 1:02:54it's the same game as last week.
- 1:02:55It's going to be tight.
- 1:02:56It's going to be close.
- 1:02:58I do have Indy sneaking it out in the close game, too.
- 1:03:04Another 15-12 game like the Eagles.
- 1:03:05Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's going to make me watch that.
- 1:03:08I honestly think it's going to be a sloppy, low scoring game is how it's going to be.
- 1:03:13Both defense and the Steelers defense does fly all over the field.
- 1:03:17So they're going to give the Colts a little bit.
- 1:03:18I think the X Factor and his Taylor, I mean, he's having a wonderful year.
- 1:03:23And if Richardson doesn't turn over the ball, I mean, even last game, he turned over the
- 1:03:27ball and they still won.
- 1:03:28So he wants healthy.
- 1:03:29Yeah.
- 1:03:30Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:31Yeah.
- 1:03:32He's had a tear.
- 1:03:33That's tough.
- 1:03:34That's you know, that's their X Factor.
- 1:03:37You know, if he gets three, four times, but he is that's what I think the other side is
- 1:03:40Richardson is such a big stout quarterback that I feel like he can shut off one or two
- 1:03:45of those sacks that typically other quarterbacks don't.
- 1:03:48So that might be the difference maker there, too.
- 1:03:50I'll give him that.
- 1:03:51It has the legs to get out.
- 1:03:52Yeah.
- 1:03:53He can feel it coming.
- 1:03:54Who's getting out a lot, dude?
- 1:03:55I know.
- 1:03:56That's a great point.
- 1:03:57Maybe Nick Herberg on the other side.
- 1:03:59I don't know who you're escaping, Mr. T.J.
- 1:04:01Who you got?
- 1:04:02Who you got?
- 1:04:03I'm also going to take the Colts on this one.
- 1:04:05I'm with you guys.
- 1:04:06Pittsburgh has to come back to earth here.
- 1:04:08Colts have a solid defense.
- 1:04:10They need to feed Jonathan Taylor.
- 1:04:11He needs to get 30 to 35 carries a game right now until Richardson figures out.
- 1:04:14That's a lot.
- 1:04:15He had 23 last week.
- 1:04:17They won the game against the Packers.
- 1:04:19If they would have kept feeding Jonathan Taylor, they probably would have squeaked that one
- 1:04:22out in the game.
- 1:04:23We couldn't stop them.
- 1:04:25And you just stopped giving him the ball.
- 1:04:27So I didn't understand that.
- 1:04:28But you need the Colts need to stop relying on Richardson as much as they are and just
- 1:04:32feed Taylor.
- 1:04:34And Pittman has to get going.
- 1:04:36I'd love to see 12 targets for Pittman, even if it's seven or eight catches.
- 1:04:40Give the ball to him.
- 1:04:41Throw him.
- 1:04:42Give him a chance.
- 1:04:4310 to 12 times.
- 1:04:44He's got one.
- 1:04:45So he's got six targets last game.
- 1:04:46You cannot have that out of a wide receiver.
- 1:04:50Alec Pierce has been really fun to watch.
- 1:04:54I think that's where you can hit this Steelers defense is that big play.
- 1:04:58They're prone to that big play because of that.
- 1:05:00If they're reliant on that rush, if that rush isn't hitting home and you're giving Richardson
- 1:05:05that time, Pierce has got the arm to beat it.
- 1:05:08Dude, his arm is silly.
- 1:05:09It's crazy.
- 1:05:10Who's the matchup going to be on that right tackle versus TJ?
- 1:05:14For the Colts?
- 1:05:15That I don't know.
- 1:05:16I don't even know the tackle over there.
- 1:05:19You know the way.
- 1:05:20Clueless.
- 1:05:21They'll probably be chipping in and running back over there the whole time.
- 1:05:23Nelson's the guard over there.
- 1:05:24I don't know.
- 1:05:25I don't remember who the tackle is.
- 1:05:26Nelson's the other guard.
- 1:05:27It'll be Braden Smith, who's actually decent right tackle in the league.
- 1:05:31Oh yeah.
- 1:05:32Oh yeah.
- 1:05:33Oh yeah.
- 1:05:34I know Braden.
- 1:05:35I don't like him.
- 1:05:36Sorry, buddy.
- 1:05:37Yeah.
- 1:05:38I know you're an avid listener.
- 1:05:39We apologize.
- 1:05:40Come on the show.
- 1:05:41Anyway, Chiefs traveling to the LA Chargers.
- 1:05:45I'll go ahead and start this one being a Chargers fan and they're going to lose this week.
- 1:05:51There's no chance.
- 1:05:54You're missing your tackles.
- 1:05:56That's so huge.
- 1:05:57Justin Herbert's a maybe.
- 1:05:59So if he's a game time decision, I'm not playing him.
- 1:06:03Missing my two top tackles, I'm not playing Justin Herbert.
- 1:06:05I don't care against the Chiefs.
- 1:06:07I'm sorry.
- 1:06:08Justin Heinecke out there is the one that's slated to start if Herbert can't go.
- 1:06:12I think J.K.
- 1:06:13Dobbins has had a nice year to start kind of rejuvenating himself, but it's just it's
- 1:06:18not going to be enough.
- 1:06:20We know the refs are on the Chiefs side.
- 1:06:22I'm just kidding.
- 1:06:23I'll try to not bring that up.
- 1:06:24But yeah, I think the Chiefs are just way too dominant right now, although we've seen
- 1:06:29them in some real tight games, but this one will not be.
- 1:06:32Keeping it interesting.
- 1:06:33Script writer's got it down.
- 1:06:34Yeah, you know, here we go.
- 1:06:35Here we go.
- 1:06:36But this one will not be that as much as it hurts my heart.
- 1:06:39Yeah.
- 1:06:40Yeah.
- 1:06:41I'll just pop in here real quick.
- 1:06:42I just I think this doesn't be a blowout, actually.
- 1:06:45I mean, I guess losing the tackles, I'm trying to think who the Chief Deans are, but you
- 1:06:50got Jones in the middle.
- 1:06:51So I guess that's the matchup is not against new tackles most of the time, but sometimes
- 1:06:56I'll put Jones on the edge anyways.
- 1:06:59So yeah, the Chargers aren't just going to have enough in this game.
- 1:07:03I think the Chiefs are going to pick this pretty quick.
- 1:07:06Their home field advantage for this week, I feel like does not matter.
- 1:07:09Chiefs fans will travel and they're all over the country.
- 1:07:12You're playing in L.A. There's no such thing as like either of the Los Angeles teams.
- 1:07:16They don't have home like a true home.
- 1:07:18You don't have a look.
- 1:07:19If you look at the crowd last week, it was 49ers fans.
- 1:07:21Yeah, it was red.
- 1:07:22It's insane.
- 1:07:23Yeah.
- 1:07:24I was at that stadium a couple of years ago and it was definitely I mean, it was a Chargers
- 1:07:27game, but yeah, there was tons of fans and just random fans.
- 1:07:32Yeah, for sure.
- 1:07:34Go for it.
- 1:07:35Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:07:36I really want to pick the Chargers here.
- 1:07:37I am not as high up on the Chiefs right now.
- 1:07:40Patrick Mahomes average distance.
- 1:07:42He does not play that great.
- 1:07:44No, he does not look good.
- 1:07:46He does not look like Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:07:47Unfortunately, I just don't think the Chargers without their tackles are going to be the
- 1:07:51team to take them down right now.
- 1:07:53They don't need Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:07:54They just need to be competent in any way, shape or form.
- 1:07:57So yeah, I'll take the Chiefs.
- 1:07:59I think it'll be close.
- 1:08:00The Chargers are going to run a lot, but yeah, without your tackles, you're not going to run
- 1:08:03them.
- 1:08:04Yeah, and Derwin James.
- 1:08:05That's exactly what I was going to get at is like this is a game for Travis Kelsey to
- 1:08:10show who Travis Kelsey is simply because Derwin James isn't guarding him.
- 1:08:14Derwin James has been like the only thing close to kryptonite as there is possible
- 1:08:18for Travis Kelsey.
- 1:08:19He shattered them every game and it's two times a year.
- 1:08:22Chiefs are going to run away with this one.
- 1:08:23Derwin James isn't just like his physical presence on the field, but he's the vocal
- 1:08:27leader of that defense.
- 1:08:28And I mean, I don't care if it's the, you know, Burnsville's high school team's ends
- 1:08:34of charge running against him here.
- 1:08:35You're not going to protect Herbert.
- 1:08:37He's hobbled.
- 1:08:38You got George Carl, Carl Aftis, great name.
- 1:08:41And then I don't know who the other edge rusher is, but the Chiefs are going to walk through
- 1:08:45the Chargers and this one, which sucks because I like the Chargers too.
- 1:08:47Yeah.
- 1:08:48Yeah.
- 1:08:49I think this is the highest spread I think in Vegas.
- 1:08:51I would imagine.
- 1:08:52I have to.
- 1:08:53There was another one that was at seven, but yeah, I'd imagine.
- 1:08:57So so far, picks have not been entertaining, but it's about to get interesting.
- 1:09:02The Bills traveling to Baltimore.
- 1:09:05That's a toughie.
- 1:09:06I don't want to start with this one.
- 1:09:07I can go first on this one.
- 1:09:08Yeah, yeah, I'll jump in.
- 1:09:09I haven't gotten first yet.
- 1:09:10So you did for Indy, you liar.
- 1:09:11Oh, I did.
- 1:09:12But we already knew you were going to pick anyway.
- 1:09:13So that's not really a surprise pick from the Indy fans.
- 1:09:20So I'll man.
- 1:09:22Both teams just played out last week.
- 1:09:24Josh Allen is having an amazing year.
- 1:09:28He's got the most games now ever with 250 yards passing, 40 yards rushing and four passing
- 1:09:35touchdowns.
- 1:09:36So kind of a unique stat.
- 1:09:37But I mean, he just does everything for that team.
- 1:09:39They took away his best receiver and he just said, fine, I'll throw it to everybody else.
- 1:09:43So I don't think the Ravens are going to get 255 yards passing or rushing on the Bills
- 1:09:49defense this week.
- 1:09:51They'll know to contain that and make Jackson beat him through the air.
- 1:09:54So I'm going to go with the Bills.
- 1:09:55Going with the Bills, OK.
- 1:09:58Circle the wagons.
- 1:10:00I like it.
- 1:10:01That's the Coltson in them right there.
- 1:10:03Tyler, Tyler, Tyler, we got Bills at Baltimore.
- 1:10:08I'll second Mike on this one.
- 1:10:11I think the Bills are going to take this one too.
- 1:10:12Josh Allen is playing out of his mind right now.
- 1:10:15As crazy as this is to say, I think one of the best things to happen to that Bills offense
- 1:10:19is taking Stephon Diggs out of it.
- 1:10:21Now Josh Allen locker room.
- 1:10:23Not even take that out of the equation.
- 1:10:25That's not obvious.
- 1:10:27But like taking him off the field and not giving Josh Allen that true number one threat is
- 1:10:30forcing him to view the field and just finding the open guy and not just looking at that
- 1:10:34Diggs as the first guy.
- 1:10:36So I think the Bills offense, James Cook has been he's looked great this year.
- 1:10:41Yeah, Josh Allen, what he can do with the pass and the run game.
- 1:10:44Their defense is playing solid.
- 1:10:46The Ravens, I mean, like you said, it's a very, very like like questionable one and two they're
- 1:10:50at right now.
- 1:10:51But at the end of the day, they're one and two and they lost to the Raiders who just
- 1:10:54lost to the Panthers.
- 1:10:55So they didn't look good.
- 1:10:57Yeah.
- 1:10:58Well, when you put it like that.
- 1:11:00Right.
- 1:11:01Right.
- 1:11:02Easy win.
- 1:11:03With Ravens at home and Vaughn Miller looks a little bit more back to form.
- 1:11:07This Bills team is humming right now.
- 1:11:08So I can't go against until I see that prototypical Josh Allen, two touchdown, three turnover
- 1:11:13game.
- 1:11:14I'm sticking with him.
- 1:11:15It's going to happen.
- 1:11:16That is funny.
- 1:11:17That's funny that you mentioned.
- 1:11:18He'll 100 percent will.
- 1:11:19All right, Tyler, Tyler, tell him how that's going to happen.
- 1:11:22Yeah, I know.
- 1:11:23It's funny you mention it because the Bills will lose their next two games straight up.
- 1:11:27Distinctly possible.
- 1:11:28They played they play the Ravens and then they go to Houston, I believe.
- 1:11:32Do they travel to Houston?
- 1:11:33Yes, they do.
- 1:11:34They play the next three.
- 1:11:35Their next three games are away.
- 1:11:37Baltimore, Houston and the Jets.
- 1:11:39So I think they lose not only this game, but also to Houston.
- 1:11:42And then they think they go on an absolute tear and snap out of it.
- 1:11:46I know that's I know that's ridiculously out of pocket considering how well they played
- 1:11:50this season.
- 1:11:51I just I think they're going to struggle.
- 1:11:54I think this is where we see Lamar just go off on the ground with his legs.
- 1:11:57I think they're going to struggle to contain Lamar.
- 1:12:00And it's just going to be tough.
- 1:12:02We might see a return.
- 1:12:04Mark Andrews healthy.
- 1:12:05He is.
- 1:12:06I think this is a game where we finally see him.
- 1:12:08I think Isaiah is just too damn good to put him on the.
- 1:12:11Absolutely.
- 1:12:12Isaiah has got to be their new number one.
- 1:12:13Oh, they're running two tight ends all the time.
- 1:12:14Yeah, he's definitely a definition of tall personnel.
- 1:12:18So they're both on the field.
- 1:12:19But yeah, for me, it's it's it's Ravens this week.
- 1:12:21I don't know.
- 1:12:22It's I don't know.
- 1:12:24I just feel like the Bills are going to lose their next two games.
- 1:12:27They just kind of go up and down as the season goes.
- 1:12:29But I think they're going to get really hot and they're going to be a favorite come playoff
- 1:12:32time.
- 1:12:33I hear you.
- 1:12:34Well, you know what?
- 1:12:35I'm also feeling you.
- 1:12:36I got Ravens, too.
- 1:12:37Yeah, buddy.
- 1:12:38Yeah, I'm thinking Lamar.
- 1:12:40I think the mojo back is the Ravens right now.
- 1:12:43Went into Dallas and then there was a video of them on the airplane and Lamar is not having
- 1:12:48any of this.
- 1:12:49He goes, this is not for fun anymore.
- 1:12:51This is business trips.
- 1:12:52So I think they're going to be a different mindset this week.
- 1:12:56I think I think, you know, I think that once they lost to the Raiders, it was the wakeup
- 1:13:02call for them.
- 1:13:03And they went to Dallas and just crushed them in the first half.
- 1:13:07And so home game, I feel like Ravens and like you're saying, Lamar's going to be tough to
- 1:13:12handle.
- 1:13:13And I can see Andrew's.
- 1:13:14Well, I don't mean either way.
- 1:13:16I think it's just going to be a big game for them.
- 1:13:19And I think defensively, they have enough talent to give Josh Allen some fits.
- 1:13:25So I'm going Ravens.
- 1:13:26Interesting.
- 1:13:27We got a split on that one.
- 1:13:28We got a split on that one.
- 1:13:30Going into our final game this week, Seattle traveling to Detroit.
- 1:13:37Seattle a surprise three and oh at that.
- 1:13:39So one, two, three, four.
- 1:13:42We have all the undefeated teams almost.
- 1:13:44Yeah, yeah, pretty much Detroit two and one at home.
- 1:13:49Let's start with a non NFC.
- 1:13:51No, no, we already got to serve Rob.
- 1:13:54Rob, we got Seattle in Detroit.
- 1:13:56I'm going to Detroit on this one.
- 1:13:59I think that they're an established sort of the run and give, you know, some some fits
- 1:14:04that defensively hutch, I think is going to bother Smith most of the day.
- 1:14:10So and Walker still out up there, I think.
- 1:14:14I hope not, man.
- 1:14:15Another guy in the face.
- 1:14:16Yeah.
- 1:14:17Sharbonne's been Sharbonne's been crushing.
- 1:14:18I don't know if Walker gets first team reps.
- 1:14:23I true.
- 1:14:24But against that deep, the defense of Detroit and well, I don't know if I fully trust the
- 1:14:31Hawks three and I'll start right now as a wild.
- 1:14:35So we got a lot of wild going on right now.
- 1:14:37But Detroit is still I still top few, you know, top three team in the NFC.
- 1:14:43I still, you know, I believe still.
- 1:14:45So I still have them going to the NFC championship game.
- 1:14:50So I think they're pulling off a dub here.
- 1:14:52Pulling off a dub for Rob.
- 1:14:55All right, Mike, why don't we just go down the line?
- 1:14:58Mike, what you got?
- 1:14:59Seattle in Detroit.
- 1:15:00Yeah, I picked up that Sharbonne.
- 1:15:02He's been crushing it the last couple of weeks.
- 1:15:04I think they are going to try to establish the run against this Detroit defense.
- 1:15:09Geno Smith, the top five quarterback by EPA this year.
- 1:15:14And so I think their their offense is just going to set the tone for the game.
- 1:15:19Defense will come up with a turnover.
- 1:15:21And I'd consider it an upset, even though Seattle's three and oh, I think Seattle upsets
- 1:15:26the Lions.
- 1:15:27Yeah.
- 1:15:28What is the line on it?
- 1:15:29The Lions by four and a half.
- 1:15:30So it would be an upset.
- 1:15:31Yep.
- 1:15:32Yep.
- 1:15:33Tyler, who we got?
- 1:15:34I think the home team wins this game.
- 1:15:38I'm not sold on either team.
- 1:15:40Seattle, they're very I think Seattle is a huge fraud, to be 100 percent honest with
- 1:15:43you.
- 1:15:44I'm not sold on them at all.
- 1:15:45I mean, they beat the Broncos, the Patriots and the very banged up Dolphins without the
- 1:15:49shorting quarterback.
- 1:15:50Right.
- 1:15:51That's not that's not a three and oh, that encourages me.
- 1:15:53They beat the Broncos by six, the Patriots by three.
- 1:15:55They want the Dolphins.
- 1:15:56But again, you're running against Skylar Thompson.
- 1:15:58Yeah.
- 1:15:59So I think the Lions I'm not sold on the Lions this year.
- 1:16:01Their offense hasn't looked like what I expected it to be after last year.
- 1:16:04And then you incorporate Gibbs more into that defense has made some steps, but I just I'm
- 1:16:09not sold on the Lions.
- 1:16:10And I think this comes down to the home team in the home field advantage, to be honest
- 1:16:13with you.
- 1:16:14So I got the Lions with winning this one.
- 1:16:16And I think it's going to be a close game.
- 1:16:18The Roar has been restored.
- 1:16:19Roar has been restored.
- 1:16:20I agree with you.
- 1:16:21I think Aiden Hutchinson is going to be an absolute beast, especially in front of the
- 1:16:26home crowd.
- 1:16:27I mean, he's just going to eat that up.
- 1:16:28Yep.
- 1:16:29But I'm very confident in my other picks.
- 1:16:34So I'm going to take a shot.
- 1:16:38And Seattle keeps surprising and ends up 4-0 out of the prime time game.
- 1:16:46I think Geno is going to have himself a game.
- 1:16:48Now watch, he'll go 10 for 20 for like 100.
- 1:16:51But.
- 1:16:52And still win the game.
- 1:16:53And still win the game.
- 1:16:54And as long as they're all the DK, I'm good.
- 1:16:57Yeah.
- 1:16:58I think you're right, even though Seattle is 3-0, even Detroit is probably viewing them
- 1:17:04as an underdog.
- 1:17:06And I feel like Detroit is pretty confident coming into this game right now as far as
- 1:17:10who they've got to face.
- 1:17:11I just, I don't know.
- 1:17:13Some seems off there for Detroit to me.
- 1:17:15I'm also not sold on Detroit this season as a whole.
- 1:17:18I do think they're a better team than Seattle, but I think Seattle just squeaks another one
- 1:17:22out.
- 1:17:23I do think it's going to be close.
- 1:17:24Just a fluky Rams vs. 49ers last week.
- 1:17:27I don't think it'll be that crazy.
- 1:17:28But yeah, another little fluky win.
- 1:17:30Yeah.
- 1:17:31Yep.
- 1:17:32But yeah, crazy.
- 1:17:33Yeah, that wraps up our week four game slate.
- 1:17:39Mike, thanks for joining us, buddy.
- 1:17:41Absolutely.
- 1:17:42It's been a pleasure.
- 1:17:43Yeah.
- 1:17:44Here next week.
- 1:17:45If I'm still invited.
- 1:17:46Yeah.
- 1:17:47To be seen.
- 1:17:48Did he pick the Packers or the Vikings?
- 1:17:51Yeah, he picked the Packers.
- 1:17:54He's out of here.
- 1:17:55TBD, we'll figure it out.
- 1:17:56We'll figure it out.
- 1:17:57We'll figure it out.
- 1:17:58We'll figure it out.
- 1:17:59Picked the Packers, made a comment about the Vikings.
- 1:18:00We'll see if I.
- 1:18:01Yeah, you're going to hear that comment in your nightmares.
- 1:18:04No, I like it.
- 1:18:06No, no, seriously.
- 1:18:07Thanks for joining us.
- 1:18:08It was great to get another team, another perspective of a different team, whatever I'm
- 1:18:12trying to say.
- 1:18:13Yeah.
- 1:18:14Of other than just the Vikes, the Pack.
- 1:18:17We're going to have a Broncos fan on later this season.
- 1:18:18We got a lot of things lined up, but I really appreciate you being here this week.
- 1:18:22And next week.
- 1:18:23It's OK.
- 1:18:24You can come next week.
- 1:18:25I'm excited.
- 1:18:26All right.
- 1:18:27Vikings Colts is November 1st, 2nd, whatever that's.
- 1:18:30We might have to have you on for that.
- 1:18:33All right.
- 1:18:34Yeah.
- 1:18:35I don't think you'll have anything good to say by that.
- 1:18:36Yeah.
- 1:18:37You guys need to win some games to make sure.
- 1:18:38You might need to make the list.
- 1:18:39Boy, we're talking like we are going to the Super Bowl.
- 1:18:42Yeah.
- 1:18:43And we need to be.
- 1:18:44Do you guys know what that's like?
- 1:18:45Whoa.
- 1:18:46Going to the Super Bowl.
- 1:18:47Yeah, another singer.
- 1:18:48Yeah, going to the Super Bowl, we know all about that.
- 1:18:51I mean, it's been in Minneapolis twice.
- 1:18:53Yeah, I was down there, raw walking around the stadium.
- 1:18:56Oh, man.
- 1:18:57And then, of course, thanks for joining us this week, Tyler.
- 1:19:00I'm super happy we got to have you on.
- 1:19:02Another Packer fan, two weeks in a row, giving us that perspective from the team on the other
- 1:19:07side of the border there.
- 1:19:09But it was good to be back.
- 1:19:10Yeah.
- 1:19:11It was good to be back.
- 1:19:12Yeah.
- 1:19:13We got to have you back more.
- 1:19:14Yeah.
- 1:19:15We'll work on it.
- 1:19:16You feel natural behind the mic again.
- 1:19:17We got to have you back.
- 1:19:18But you better with the boys, give me some daycare.
- 1:19:19You got a deal.
- 1:19:20Sounds good.
- 1:19:21We need your sponsorships.
- 1:19:22We need to get Tyler Daycare so he can be on Banner with the Boys.
- 1:19:25But anyway, of course, like always, like, comment, subscribe wherever you listen to the banner,
- 1:19:30whether that's YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts.
- 1:19:33And we'll see you for week five.
