- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you are listening to the voice, Come on,
- 0:08Speaker 2: dig me now, one and all is Steve Harvey got
- 0:11Speaker 2: a radio show particular me this morning. Steve Harvey got
- 0:17Speaker 2: a radio show filled with nothing but joy and hope
- 0:22Speaker 2: about it too. You know, it's a great thing to
- 0:24Speaker 2: be able to wake up in the morning with peace
- 0:27Speaker 2: in your heart and joy. Peace and joy is immeasurable.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It has a value attached to it, and I have
- 0:35Speaker 2: no idea what it is. It's invaluable. It is worth
- 0:38Speaker 2: so much more than any amount of money you can make.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Peace and joy. I have not always had that. I've
- 0:47Speaker 2: not always been a peaceful person or a person who
- 0:52Speaker 2: lived his life and enjoy spirit. It took an arrival
- 0:57Speaker 2: at this moment. Some people arrive sooner than others. I
- 1:01Speaker 2: wish I had arrived at this point sooner, but I
- 1:06Speaker 2: think it was necessary for me to learn a few
- 1:08Speaker 2: things too.
- 1:10Speaker 1: That's the amazing.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Thing I've learned about life is that instead of reflecting
- 1:15Speaker 2: on your past incidences and calling them failures, instead of
- 1:21Speaker 2: focusing on the negative and calling them bad times, I
- 1:28Speaker 2: look at them now as experiences. I had to have
- 1:31Speaker 2: those experiences that were negative, that were good, positive, wrong, evil.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I had to have all those experiences to become to
- 1:43Speaker 2: shape who we are today.
- 1:46Speaker 1: We all have to have them.
- 1:47Speaker 2: If you look back at all the negative experiences you've had,
- 1:51Speaker 2: all the things that you called failures, all the businesses
- 1:56Speaker 2: I started that went under, all of the jobs I
- 1:58Speaker 2: had that I was fired, it from, all the shows
- 2:01Speaker 2: that were canceled, all of the times I thought I
- 2:05Speaker 2: was going to get something happened in my way and
- 2:07Speaker 2: turned out I didn't get it at all. When you
- 2:10Speaker 2: look at all of it, all of it, hopefully along
- 2:14Speaker 2: the way, what you have done as a person is
- 2:16Speaker 2: you've taken those negatives and those failures and you've used
- 2:21Speaker 2: them for what they actually are. They are experiences, and
- 2:26Speaker 2: they've now created in you an experienced person, and you
- 2:31Speaker 2: know that is worth something. That's then it becomes a positive.
- 2:38Speaker 2: But what too many people do is they let the
- 2:40Speaker 2: negative things that have happened in their life, They allow
- 2:43Speaker 2: the failures that have happened in them lives never to
- 2:46Speaker 2: manifest themselves as experiences. And you sit up there and
- 2:50Speaker 2: you dwell on it, and you dwell on it until
- 2:53Speaker 2: you have this woe is me attitude. Stop looking at
- 2:57Speaker 2: it like that. Y'all, you go through things in order
- 3:01Speaker 2: to become the person that you are today. I'll tell
- 3:04Speaker 2: you who you sometimes have to sit down and talk to.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Sometimes you ought to sit down to an inmate that
- 3:09Speaker 2: really gets it, an inmate.
- 3:11Speaker 1: That says, man.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I've actually heard inmates say it to me and write
- 3:15Speaker 2: to me, and they've said things like, man, come into prison,
- 3:19Speaker 2: save my life.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Now, those of you have never got how can he
- 3:22Speaker 1: say a thing like that?
- 3:23Speaker 2: But some men, no, Man, I was so far out
- 3:27Speaker 2: there that if I'd have stayed out there, I wouldn't
- 3:30Speaker 2: even be here today. This actually allowed me to stop,
- 3:33Speaker 2: spend some time with myself and learn some things about me.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Now does that happen for everybody? Like that?
- 3:38Speaker 2: And a but here's a person who was taking an
- 3:41Speaker 2: experience that could be considered a failure or negative and
- 3:45Speaker 2: turn it into a positive and using it to enrich
- 3:48Speaker 2: their lives. You can do it no matter what your
- 3:50Speaker 2: set of circumstances is. I recommend to everybody that you
- 3:54Speaker 2: try changing your outlook in order to change your outcome.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Everything that happens to you that's negative or you consider
- 4:02Speaker 2: failure their experiences, You've got to go through these things
- 4:04Speaker 2: in order to have the knowledge that you have today.
- 4:07Speaker 2: So I wish that I had come to this arrival
- 4:11Speaker 2: that I'm in now, this place of peace and joy.
- 4:13Speaker 2: But then guess what, I will not know what I know.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I couldnot share some of the things that I'm able
- 4:20Speaker 2: to share if I had not gone through some of them.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And sometimes that's the purpose of them. It's to teach
- 4:25Speaker 2: you a lesson because you know, God has a plan
- 4:28Speaker 2: for you. He really really does, and eventually He can
- 4:31Speaker 2: use you no matter how old you are, and he
- 4:34Speaker 2: can use you no matter how young you are. If
- 4:36Speaker 2: you just say, Okay, I'm ready to hear your plan.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I've tried mine. Mine ain't worked out. What's your plan
- 4:43Speaker 2: for me? God, what do you want me to do?
- 4:46Speaker 2: That's why I say every day Steve already got radio show, y'all,
- 4:49Speaker 2: Cause man, I ain't see it coming. I didn't see
- 4:52Speaker 2: that coming. I ain't see this book coming. I ain't
- 4:55Speaker 2: I ain't seen half of the amazing things that are
- 4:57Speaker 2: happened to me. I didn't plan them. I was sitting there, man,
- 5:01Speaker 2: asking God for some direction. And then I got smart
- 5:05Speaker 2: enough to stay watchful, be a hard worker. Now because faithful.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Our works is there and it came. And I'll remind
- 5:12Speaker 2: you of this. God has given all of you a gift.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Every last one of you listening has a gift. God
- 5:18Speaker 2: has never created a soul that He did not provide
- 5:20Speaker 2: a gift to. God gives everyone a gift, and a
- 5:24Speaker 2: gift is not just singing, rapping entertainment. The richer gifts
- 5:29Speaker 2: are much more than that. Teachers are gifted people who
- 5:33Speaker 2: really have the gift of sharing information. That's a gift,
- 5:37Speaker 2: you know, and in that you can become great.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You know, a.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Lot of people think that successful and greatness is the
- 5:48Speaker 2: same thing. Cornell West said it at my daughter's graduation.
- 5:52Speaker 2: He was a spokesperson and he said something so pointed.
- 5:54Speaker 2: He said, don't ever confuse success with greatness. The two
- 5:59Speaker 2: have nothing to do with each other. See, people determine
- 6:02Speaker 2: success about money and fame and all this here, but greatness.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Greatness ain't got nothing to do with your money. It
- 6:09Speaker 2: ain't got nothing to do with your fame. It's how
- 6:11Speaker 2: you conduct your life. It's how meaningful and significant you
- 6:15Speaker 2: become in your community, at your church, on your job,
- 6:19Speaker 2: to the cub Scout unit that you run to the
- 6:22Speaker 2: little girl's lives that you change that that little center
- 6:25Speaker 2: in the hood where you just one place of hope
- 6:28Speaker 2: to so many people and they come back. And I
- 6:30Speaker 2: used the example of Lou Dazzler who passed away in
- 6:33Speaker 2: LA who had the Boys and Girls Challenges Club out
- 6:36Speaker 2: in LA And he wasn't a rich man at all,
- 6:39Speaker 2: and if you walk by him, you wouldn't even know
- 6:40Speaker 2: who he was. But if you look at all the
- 6:43Speaker 2: people who have gone on to become politicians, who have
- 6:46Speaker 2: gone on to become CEOs, who have gone on to
- 6:49Speaker 2: become athletes, that have passed through this man's small building
- 6:53Speaker 2: in the hood in La, he was great. Trust me, man,
- 6:58Speaker 2: Pray changes things. I said at all the time. But
- 7:00Speaker 2: when you see people become successful or great that somebody
- 7:04Speaker 2: praying somewhere may not even beat them, maybe it's they.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Mama.
- 7:07Speaker 2: You know, I think of Tiger Woods and all the
- 7:09Speaker 2: greatness he's accomplished. You know, they always talk about his
- 7:13Speaker 2: father and all this here somebody somewhere praying for Tiger Woods.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I got cash money riding on that Tiger Woods. Mama
- 7:21Speaker 2: is a praying woman or something. My mother was. She
- 7:23Speaker 2: prayed me into this place because she used to call
- 7:26Speaker 2: me all the time, praying for you, boy, and prayer
- 7:29Speaker 2: changes things. It really does. Try it today. It can
- 7:33Speaker 2: change you. It has changed millions of people. Open up
- 7:36Speaker 2: yourself to the greatness that's in you because God has
- 7:39Speaker 2: giving you a gift matter fact that you ain't using it.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Who fought you think that is? I'm just telling you
- 7:45Speaker 2: you got one and if you start praying about it,
- 7:48Speaker 2: it'll manifest itself and you can become one or two things,
- 7:53Speaker 2: successful or great or both.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You can make the decision today
- 8:00Speaker 2: Into the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
