- PropJosh: ⁓ So ⁓ they just released ⁓ Disney just released the live action Muwana. jason: Yep. yeah. You watched it? Opening opening day. You went out you went out there. You stood in line. PropJosh: Yeah. No. No. You know what's so crazy? This might be the first live action Disney movie that I miss. As much as I comp ⁓ maybe maybe when it comes to streaming. Cause I heard a couple of scenes might be good, and I heard that the girl that plays Moana does a good job. Like she's the only shining light of the whole thing, but this whole thing sounds like a typical ⁓ Disney Yep. Yep, yep. jason: You just you're not gonna watch it at all. Mm. Hmm. Money grab? Yeah. I mean, it was interesting that the rock ⁓ plays him the same character because he physically could. So I mean that's you know, that's not bad. PropJosh: Exactly what I was gonna say. Yeah, they've done it before. James Earl Jones re you know, reprise his role as Mufasa in the live action. jason: Yeah. R. I. P. So yeah, I mean PropJosh: So yeah. ⁓ I I kinda hope that it fails. It's gonna it's probably failing. I mean, yeah, I'm this is why. I mean, because I usually, you know, I I I love the the Moana movie itself, the original. Maybe that's why I want this one to fail. I want this thing to fail because enough is enough, Disney. Like stop stop re releasing, stop doing these live action. Yeah, people This might make them learn. jason: When you hope that it fails? Why? Why? Yeah. Mm. Like Disney, when will you learn? They're not gonna learn. PropJosh: I thought they learned with Snow White, because Snow White was just hot garbage. I don't even know why I went to the theater for that one. I actually went and saw that movie. jason: But you you know, ⁓ Disney has enough money to f to to flop a bunch of movies and still be okay. You know? PropJosh: Not that well, not that many. They they'll learn they ⁓ they I mean big corporations do love their money. jason: I mean, all they'll do. They do love their money, but what they'll do is they'll just increase Disney Plus by another dollar. ⁓ So they'll do that. They'll they'll make up for the flop in a day. PropJosh: ⁓ of course they would. Yep, they would. But this whole summer though, for real, and this will lead into our thing, ⁓ all all the bigger movies all the bigger movies have not been doing that well. Only the indie movies have been like the the smaller movies have really been doing it. ⁓ it's been weird, like for real. Like a lot of the YouTube people and stuff have been doing well. But like, you know, the st the Star Wars movie, ⁓ you know, Mandalorian and Grogu. jason: Ha ha ha ha. Mm. Okay. Mm. PropJosh: didn't do as well. He Man didn't do that well. and Moana's probably not gonna do well. ⁓ but you know, Toy Story and Minions, you know, you already know. You already know with them. You know, come on, they're high IPs and their cartoons. You can't touch them. They're gonna jason: In the summertime, that's gonna they're gonna take they just wanna parents wanna take them even if they weren't any paying attention. They're just like, Here, sit down, watch something. So PropJosh: Right. And I'm pretty sure Spider Man got nothing to worry about with Spider Man. I know. jason: It's Spider Man. Spider Man, I don't know if Spider Man ever had a flop. Even the bad ones. 'Cause I'm like every single Spider Man, Spider Man is I mean, yeah. Spider Man and Batman are like people gonna watch that. ⁓ yeah, I forgot about that, yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, Supergirl didn't do that well. So this summer has just been yeah, this summer really showed how movies are probably taking a different turn now. They like this is a new generation of people and stuff. ⁓ 'cause you know, Steven Steven Spielberg had a movie out. ⁓ I didn't watch it. ⁓ I'm gonna wait for it to come to streaming. I think it's because people I it's it's a whole streaming thing now. jason: Mm. Okay. Mm. PropJosh: And plus, you know, I used to work at the movie theater, so I will see free movies all the time. Now that I haven't now it's been ten years since I worked at the theater and I have to pay for it. I do not go to the movies as often. I'm very selective. Yeah, I don't even re-watch movies. I don't even watch movies twice anymore. I watch them one time and be done until it comes to streaming. The only movies I saw twice this year was ⁓ Super Mario Galaxy and Michael. And I have my reasons why I watched those movies twice. And I'm gonna see Spider Man again too. jason: Yeah. You're more selective. You're like, you know what? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm. Okay. You already bought your second ticket. ⁓ my goodness. Yeah. PropJosh: I already play already I watched Michael twice because ⁓ I watched it with Carlton because ⁓ you know, he wanted to watch it so I was like, Yeah, I'll watch it with you and then with with ⁓ Mario, it was in this new theater screen X and I said, You know what? Let me try this theater out and watch it with a movie I've seen before. So that's the only reason. jason: Hmm. ⁓ yeah, you wanted to try that. Yeah. Okay. Okay, cool. Well, speaking of movie theaters and movies that are what less ⁓ indie more indie, I guess. What are we talking about this time? PropJosh: Yeah, indie films. We are talking about ⁓ there it is. I know, I know. Anyway, I know, I know. But ⁓ that's why I started talking. We're talking about obsessed. Obsessed. I seen this movie. I I'm not ⁓ I'm about to spoil what I was about to no, I've not watched it twice, but I planned to. And I planned to, planned and planned anyway. jason: I th I told I knew you were gonna wait. I mean I fixed it in the post. It just was delayed. Did you watch it twice? Yeah. Okay. PropJosh: We're gonna talk about this movie, but ⁓ let me introduce ourselves. I am Josh, aka O-G prop Josh. jason: Yeah. You had to. You bringing it back? You bringing the OG back? Really? PropJosh: I'm bringing it back. I'm bringing OG back. Yeah, 'cause people been calling me OG a lot lately. So it's like, hey, it's like, hey, well, it's appropriate now. It wasn't appropriate when I was fourteen. Cause it's I've been around. jason: Why they call you OG? It was not appropriate. You have you are OG. I guess who's calling you OG? PropJosh: ⁓ like my my followers and stuff like that, you know, on ⁓ YouTube. jason: 'Cause you've been on you've been on YouTube as long as they've been alive. OG. Now they they're showing their kids you are an OG. Yep. It's like, hey, I'm showing my kids. Look at my pro the stuff I used to watch when I was a kid. That's wild. ⁓ yeah. That's me. Hey, what up? PropJosh: Yes, they were children when they were watching my videos, and now they are showing their children my videos. ⁓ Ha ha ha! Right, pretty much. I'm joined by you, Jason, aka Smiley. OG smiley anyway. ⁓ yeah, you got Unc. ⁓ my gosh. Yeah you always been an uncle. You've been uncle since you were like thirteen. jason: Mm-hmm. OG. I am Unk though. I've I've officially became Mr. Smiley and Unk. I am a hundred percent that. I've yeah, I have been Uncle. I've been an uncle literally all my life. I've been Uncle Jason forever. so that I was I was called Uncle Jason before I was called Smiley, actually. So yeah. But yeah. PropJosh: Well there you go. jason: ⁓ Mr. Smiley to some and Mr. Abrams to my banker. PropJosh: Yeah. This is Mr. April Spaker. ⁓ continue with your podcast. ⁓ jason: All right, all right. So yes, let's talk about this movie Obsession. So you watched this. I saw I think I barely saw the trailer actually. And it seemed like something I may have made, you know, like on the top may have wanted to watch. But you know me, I'm not like a huge horror movie person. So like I'm not that's not when I see a horror movie, it's not like, ⁓ I gotta go watch it. PropJosh: All right. Yeah. jason: Even the trailers during the during the movies, I just I just doesn't horror movies don't really get me to like, ⁓ yeah, I gotta see it. I like comedy, like action, you know, but I do like sci fi and that's where the line of horror that I like, ⁓ the sci fi type of horror movies that are really interesting and intriguing. So I don't know if you you sh you shared what did you say to me to kind of encourage me to wanna watch it? 'Cause you said something about like it's like an episode of something. PropJosh: Mm. Of Black Mirror? Maybe, because it does remind me a little bit of Black Mirror. It's like a magical Black Mirror. It's like Twilight Zone or the Simpsons. jason: Did you say that? Yeah. The Simpsons did this. Simpsons predicts everything. PropJosh: Yes. So no Simpson well technically Simpsons didn't predict this because the director, he's a young guy. ⁓ yes. He got the idea. Yes. He got the idea from the Sims Dead Series. For real, for real. Look at he has an interview, him actually saying that for real, for real. He literally got this idea from an episode of The Simpsons. jason: He watched The Simpsons. He got it from The Simpsons. Was it for real? Like for real, for real? ⁓ my goodness. Wow. That's crazy. Okay. So which okay. Yeah, I mean Simpson's been on all his life. PropJosh: That's the world we live in. The dude's like twenty seven years old. Right. So Monkey's paw. He got it from the monkey's paw episode. Yes. jason: Was that the monk no, that was that the which Monkey's Paw, yeah, the Monkey's Paw. That's that's right. That was a Treehouse of Horror episode. I mean, honestly, any any Treehouse of Horror has three episodes per one. And so they there's like what, thirty something seasons. So yeah, there's a lot to go on. Some of them are based off of movies, but the monkey's paw was it was it based off of a movie? PropJosh: Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's based off a ⁓ a short story, which I actually read when I was in school. So, like, but I did, in all fairness, see the Simpsons episode first and then read the story from my remember. I mean, it yeah, maybe it was around the same time because I was a kid when both things happened. But that episode of Simpsons came out before that dude was born. Cause he's the same age as Malik. Yeah. jason: Mm. You read this short story. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, that was an earlier season. Yep. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I think that remember that was like what, fourth season or something like that? I feel like it was third or fourth season. Monkey's paw. I do remember that, because he gets a random paw and then ⁓ clo and it makes a wish and it's like consequences. Yeah. Major consec which is a good that's a that is a premise of I feel like I mean the story's good. PropJosh: Something like that, yeah. Yeah. So He makes a wish on it and it made the and the finger goes down. Yes. Yeah, exactly. jason: They have done that in other like places, but to make it horror, horror is interesting. And that's what Simpsons did. It's like, ⁓ man, like you make this wish and bad things can happen. So so yeah. ⁓ so yeah, I I kind of didn't know you mentioned that, but I didn't know what to expect. I mean, with the title obsession, my theory, I was like, okay, somebody's gonna be obsessed with somebody, you know. Girl after a guy, maybe, you know, is a love potion. You know, that's the type of thing I'm thinking. But I actually came in pretty blind, not knowing what to expect. PropJosh: Yeah. I did too though. So I heard about it. Like I was hearing about it through word of mouth, which is the internet, you know, like Obsession is a great movie. Obsession. So I purposely didn't see any trailers of it at all. But the name, of course, gave it away. Obsession. It's like, okay, this is I kind of figure I know what this is going to be about. And so watching it, I knew what was going to happen, but it was I still enjoyed it a lot. Cause I'm like, I'm glad I didn't see the trailer. jason: Mm. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I didn't that's the thing. I didn't see the trailer at all. And I think that I watched the trailer after I watched the movie and I was like, ⁓ yeah. I'm glad I didn't see the trailer. You know, so it's good that word of mouth helps get these indie movies to people to watch it. Cause that's the thing. Like advertisements work in a certain way, but there's something about ⁓ PropJosh: And it jason: We and this may go with what we talked about a little few minutes ago, was like, how do we know something's actually good? ⁓ the the the trial of public opinion makes a difference. And so like you can have an advertisement and a bunch of people saying, you know, articles and paid advertisement. Watch this, watch this, watch this. And they spent a bunch of thousands and millions of dollars on it. Like, whatever. But a random person sitting in front of their computer that's not getting paid for nothing and said, Hey, this movie's funny or this movie's interesting. You're like, okay, let me check it out. You know, whoa, what happened here? So we're gonna spoil it. I don't know how we want to talk about it, but we we just gonna talk about it. So spoiler warning. So you got this far so far. Okay, you got a pre before? Okay. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. ⁓ yeah, yeah, yeah. Spoiler warning. Spoiler warning. But before we get into that, yes, before we get into this, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was gonna say 'cause and on a subject where we were talking about it. I think this is the rise of YouTube right now. Or rise of YouTube filmmakers. And yes, yes, yes. This is one of the many YouTubers that've made 'cause he's he's yeah, they they I was I've seen so many videos about this and that the director himself jason: Mm. So this is a YouTuber that made this? PropJosh: He is in he he's in YouTube videos. He's a he basically is a YouTuber. And he ain't the first. We had a few YouTubers come out in the past year with their own films. And they did well with their films. And Hollywood is scratching their head right now, like, wait a minute, we spent all this money on the Star Wars movie and nobody's coming. And but these YouTubers come on and they making a lot of money. Cause this movie, Obsession, did something that most movies didn't do. It got jason: Mm. Yeah. No, that makes a lot of sense. Yeah. PropJosh: better with the box office every week it kept increasing the money kept increasing it was doing right right it was doing good and then and then yes it just kept going yes it's going viral it's the movie version of going right viral jason: ⁓ because of the word of mouth. That's what it was. So opening night, opening weekend, it was like, what is this? Who nobody really cares about it? But it was decent. Enough to create that's how things go viral. Like it starts off. So that's this is a definition. This is the ⁓ definition of a movie going viral. That's crazy. And it's so quick because it's gonna be streaming this week. You listen to this tomorrow. So by the time we post this, which I just watched it in the theater Friday. So it's still in theaters to this day. Maybe this week might be so PropJosh: Yes, yes. Yes, it's still in theaters 'cause me and Andy talked about rewatching it. She was like, Are we gonna go to the movies and r and watch it again? And I'm like, I don't know. I was like really considering it. This was another movie I was considering watching it again in the theater. jason: Mm-hmm. So Yeah. And it wasn't it wasn't empty. You know, when I watched it, it wasn't packed. ⁓ but it wasn't empty. It was, you know, a handful of people in the movie theater. So I could see and people been talking about it all over the line. So I'm seeing, you know, TikToks and YouTube's and like quick clips and things like that, people talking about obsession. So PropJosh: Yeah. So my theory though of why it's doing so well with it just with YouTubers are doing well is because I think ⁓ filmmakers are learning on YouTube. Because like me as a YouTuber myself, I learn from my own stuff and I learn from you know, I get comments and stuff, and I get to re-watch it, all that stuff. And plus I don't have a right, right. Talk with them and stuff. Yeah, yeah. And I think that's what other YouTubers are doing. That's why. jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah. You respond to what the audience actually is wants. PropJosh: their movies are doing well in the theater. Like, yeah. jason: Mm. Yeah, they're more I would say that like the difference between Hollywood and ⁓ YouTube is that there are those that are on the ground level understand what the audience wants because they're closer to where the audience is and they're able to hear a little bit clearer. I think that the not that, you know, not that the Hollywood doesn't, but there is definitely a disconnect, you know, like you they can't relate as well as they used to. Like some maybe related 30 years ago, but they still in the industry. They've been in the industry forever. So that's all they know at this point. And so YouTubers are coming from the ground. Right. Exactly. It's like grandchild, tell me what it's like. And the grandchild kid is a grandkid of a famous person. All they know is fame. ⁓ So tell us what you're PropJosh: Mm-hmm. Yeah, they gotta talk to their they gotta talk to their grandkids. We're at that point. jason: What your friends are talking about, you know, so Yeah, which is interesting. PropJosh: Well, you can get on YouTube 'cause you know it's gonna be a big thing. You know y ⁓ Hollywood's gonna jump on it next year or so and grab a bunch of YouTubers and like, yeah, make a movie, make a movie for us 'cause Hollywood, all Hollywood understands is money. Like money, money. They don't understand story. And that's what YouTubers are good at. They're they're focused on the story. And how y you know, and that's how I feel about this movie. This movie is definitely ⁓ jason: ⁓ yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. PropJosh: on the story and it's leaving you questions and there's so many questions and theories with this movie. I've seen so many videos about it. jason: Okay. Love to hear about that. ⁓ what your what your questions and theories are. So any more, no spoilers. We me and Josh have not talked about this yet. I watched it. We talked and said, ⁓ yeah, I watched it. Let's talk now. So we kind of like, okay, let's go ahead and let's talk. So you don't know how I feel about it at all. ⁓ so it's fine. Let's talk about it. So spoiler alert, spoiler warning, spoiler, spoiler, spoiler. We're gonna just talk about it as if you already watched it. If you haven't watched it yet. PropJosh: Yes, this is our first time talking about it live. No, I don't. All right, all right. So jason: Or if you haven't been on the internet because other people have spooled it already. ⁓ We're just letting you know. We're talking about it as if 'cause some people like you s you said you watched it and kinda knew it was gonna happen, but still enjoyed it. So with that, you can kinda say, Well, even if you don't know if you want to watch it or not, you listen to this, hear our thoughts and then check it out tomorrow on Peacock. This is sponsored by no, it's not sponsored by Peacock. ⁓ PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Yeah. Okay. Well, first things first, I knew it was gonna happen because there's an episode of Hercules cartoon, Disney cartoon, that did something like this. That's why maybe I did say that it was. It was that episode. The guy that did the voice of of Hercules himself. Yeah, and I told him, I said, Did you watch Obsession? He said yes. And I said, Does it not remind you of the episode of Hercules? He said, Yeah, he said, You're the second person to tell me this. jason: Maybe it was Hercules that you said. You did that's what you said. You did say 'cause you so you say you talked to you talk to the voice. Yeah, that's right. Mm-hmm. Okay. So remind us of that episode. I do remember the episode, but remind the audience ⁓ of the episode if they haven't seen it. PropJosh: So the episode and it ac ⁓ oddly enough had two ⁓ actress from ⁓ actresses from ⁓ friends on there. ⁓ Lisa Coudreau and and Jennifer Aniston were in that episode. ⁓ Lisa Coudreau played ⁓ Aphrodite and like yeah, yeah, and ⁓ Hercules yeah, yeah, he summoned Aphrodite to ⁓ 'cause he 'cause Hercules needed a date to the prom or just a school dance. jason: Mm. Aphrodite, the yeah, the goddess of love. Yep. So some dance or something like that. Yeah, yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, so yeah, so so Aphrodite created a girl for him and asked him what kind of qualities should she put in her and he was like, I just want her to be in love with me jason: Mm-hmm. Lo of me. Yep, that's it. That was the only quality that she had. That was the only quality. Obsessed. ⁓ PropJosh: And she ended up being really crazy. And I think they're obsessed. And it was ⁓ and I think the ⁓ Jeffrey Aston played that character. Yeah. Right. So I thought about that. I said, that's the so that's what I thought about when I was watching this movie. I said, this is this is that episode of Hercules. jason: played the character. Yeah, that she made that's all she cared about was Hercules. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah, that's the one you did something about. So yeah, so there's so there's something about there's something about that ⁓ woman chasing after a dude that's that's taboo because that's not typical. And so it's like it has to be a magic it has to have a magic potion in order for that to happen. ⁓ because I mean that does PropJosh: Right. Of course. Well, 'cause it's it's really creepy if it's a guy doing it. That's why a guy is obsessed with this girl's like ooh that's that's jason: Well, that's not just creepy, that happens a lot. So I think that's where it's like it's like 'cause you think about it, like Steve Urkel was obsessed with Laura. You know what I mean? Like that's that was a whole TV show. So there's there's definitely that. ⁓ you know, so there's moments where they kind of switch roles every now and then. And so this movie shows that. ⁓ I like how it starts. ⁓ 'cause you kinda you just jump right into like a conversation and you're like, what in the world's going on? PropJosh: ⁓ right, it's normal. Yes, yeah. Right. Right. Right. And since you didn't watch the previews and I didn't watch the previews, I I actually got fooled that he was talking to the girl. jason: And so the actor, no, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I was like, wow, he's just pouring his heart out, you know? And it's like, zoom out, you know, you zoom out, you're like, wait a minute, like, no, not only is it not the girl, it's like some raitress at the restaurant. That was good. Yeah. Yeah, that was good. That was good. 'Cause that PropJosh: Right. Right, right. So I was throwing off for real. It's a good thing I didn't see the trailer because I was seriously like, ⁓ what's she gonna say? jason: I was thinking was gonna ⁓ sh he's gonna break her heart and then that's what he's gonna motivate to kinda do the thing, but no, that wasn't even it. So, ⁓ he's actually like what, high school friends? He has a high school friend group, that's kinda the group. They all work together though. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. He well, they known each other. Yeah, they all work together. It's it's like it must be a tiny town. 'Cause they grew up together basically. They ⁓ 'cause apparently so the main guy, his name is Bear, and he is basically jason: Yeah. Short for something. PropJosh: It could be short for Barry, but they call him Bear as a B E A R the the animal Bear. Like it's spelt that way and everything. So Bear is in love with his friend's own friend girl, Nikki. And he's apparently known her since they were ⁓ in in elementary school. jason: Mm-hmm. Nikki, yeah. Mm. PropJosh: So ⁓ which is ⁓ you know, 'cause they're young adults. They're like in their twenties. I would say mid twenties. They're not jason: Yeah, they all they're independ they have their yeah, they have their own homes or apartments or whatever. They're living on their own 'cause you don't really see their parents ⁓ much except for one. Yeah. And so everybody's kind of pretty much on their own. And so they're definitely adults that are working. Some are like thinking about school, maybe. Yeah. So yeah, maybe Yep. I would say the same thing. Mm-hmm. They're definitely old enough to drink and old enough to be on their own and old enough to have their own PropJosh: Except for one except for one character. Yeah, except for one character. College age. Yeah. So they could be like twenty-three, twenty-two, twenty-three. That's what I would guess. You know, going to bars and stuff, that kind of thing. Right, right. jason: problems. So then long enough away from high school or or ⁓ whatever school where it's kinda like y'all d established a friendship post high school, which is a big deal for people to still be friends after that. PropJosh: Right. Just a little bit older than my daughter. I just aged myself so I could be their parent. jason: Mm-hmm. You really could. You absolutely. Their parents are your age, Josh. PropJosh: They they they were tiny they were infants when they were watching my YouTube videos. That's what I'm called old G. ⁓ but yeah. jason: Yep, they were they were they call you OG. ⁓ so Yep, that is it. What so yeah, that I mean I I like you kinda knew with that setup, you're like, Okay, yeah, this is after that setup, I was like, Okay, he's absolutely gonna try to get the girl that he has a crush on, right? That's kinda like the thing. PropJosh: Yeah, and you kinda on his side a little bit at the beginning, 'cause it's like you s you see. Yes, at the beginning, that's why I said that. Yeah, we'll talk about him. We'll talk about ⁓ but you you kinda s 'cause you feel for him, 'cause it what guy hasn't had a crush? Especially a a friend girl type thing. Yeah, yeah. jason: ⁓ yeah, at the beginning. ⁓ Man. ⁓ my goodness. Yep, yep. At the beginning. Cause this guy, man. Okay. Yep. A friend zoned. Yeah, it's like girl you've been friends with. And it's like they clicking. Like they you know, she laughing and joking, asking about how he doings. Like she call him up, like, hey, you're gonna be gonna be I'm gonna miss you. Like that's the but it's a friend miss. Like it's not even so it's like it's clear that it's friend it's kinda kinda clear, but it's clear, but you're like, is it? But you kinda don't but you kinda you see if you're looking from his perspective, you're like, i it could go to another level. Like it actually could. Like it didn't seem like it was PropJosh: Yeah, but he wants to take it to the next level, but that's why he's all Yeah, yeah. It's a little flirty. It's a little flirty, but it it isn't that gray area. Right, right. It's in that gray area. jason: It didn't seem like it was completely closed off. It wasn't like she was like, What up, my dude? You know, like she wasn't like ⁓ you know she yeah. PropJosh: Yeah. And his ⁓ friend Ian is encouraging him. He was he was there at the beginning trying to encourage him, but yeah, man, you know, yeah, I know, I know. jason: Kind of. The first thing he says to him though is like, you know, kind of be playful with her. Call her freaky Nikki. And I'm like, that's she's like, that was the one that she she's got she got called that when she was being made fun of as a kid. Like, nobody, why would you it's like that's flirty. PropJosh: Right. 'Cause you know, 'cause that's what ski kiss you know, boys in school, you know, when you say something insulting to a girl. Exactly. Exactly. jason: But they're adults to insult to ins to call someone something that if you're a friend with someone, to call someone by a name that was traumatic as a kid, knowing that you were there in the room, but you still became friends, you heard them not like that, you were there, and now you're gonna call them that as a flirtation thing. PropJosh: Yeah. You could tell that Bear has zero percent game. No, I say zero. If not zero, then it's one or two percent game. 'Cause Bear has no idea what to say to a girl. jason: ⁓ my goodness. I wouldn't say zero percent. I wouldn't say zero percent. One percent. ⁓ my goodness. I think that no, he doesn't he doesn't. He's a he's a nice guy, you know, y you see. ⁓ he is definitely lonely. And I think that there's traumatic, which is a foreshadowing, when his cat dies. So you kind of see that that moment of tension. That's kind of that I think that that shows the kind of spurs on the trajectory 'cause he kinda like you can see the depression, but his his cat O D'd on Oxycotin. So like it got into the got into PropJosh: Yeah. Cat got into it, which me and Cho me and Andy talked about that 'cause we was like how you know, 'cause I have a cat that literally eats everything, so and I have a lot of pills around the house as well, but my cat ain't eating any of my pills. So that was a little to me that kinda showed a little bit of irresponsibility with bear as well. Be a little irresponsible 'cause jason: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Like where w why is your your grandma's oxy 'cause it was his grandma's house that he basically inherited. Yeah. And why is her oxy open for the cat to grab? PropJosh: Who has passed, yeah. Right. That yeah. Right, right. You can't get they don't have exactly. So I automatically my first thought having pills around a house and a cat that eats everything, my first thought was like, dude, what did you do? That cat should have never ate that. jason: Childlock. Like cat cats can't open up What did you do? Well did he take some? 'Cause he could have took one and left it open. 'Cause I'm that's the only that's the only thing that makes sense. It's like he took one and left it and then that's the only reason why it would have been available for the cat to eat, then fine. So PropJosh: Probably. That's a gotta be it. Yeah. Right. So, ⁓ but yeah, he's all beating himself up. So of course Nikki of all people calls him up to get him to come to the ⁓ trivia night, right? It's trivia night at the bar. With and they do, you know, you got the four friends together, Bear, Nikki, Ian, and Sarah. And ⁓ they're the main characters of the movie. Like this this movie also has a very small staff, cast. Yeah, it's very small cast. jason: Yeah. Mm. Yeah, the plots Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. The plot doesn't ⁓ there's a few scenes where it's just them four or two or three of them. So PropJosh: Right, right. You recycle those those four characters. They're the main four. ⁓ and Nikki definitely feels like she's the most outgoing of the group. When you you see her interact and stuff, and she's like, you know, the kind of girl that punches you in the shoulder. Hey, come on, you know, like, you know, I could see myself being friends with Nikki at that age, kind of thing. jason: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I'm grateful that they'll be a quantity. Yeah. I'm grateful that they they showed her personality, ⁓ like they gave us enough of her personality early on, ⁓ so that we can kinda get a little bit of knowing and see why, you know, ⁓ yeah, you kinda see it. 'Cause it's it's a sh it's a complete shift. It's a complete change. And I think that's where it's like there's little subtle things that you kinda see throughout PropJosh: I'll see the changes that's gonna happen and stuff. jason: at the beginning, the first twenty minutes of the movie that gives you some subtle hints. But you see her personality, you see, ⁓ the friendship dynamic, you know, between 'cause it's two they all they're coworkers, but they're friends. And so you kinda see how ⁓ Sarah is like cares for Bear. ⁓ 'cause when he tells her about the cat, she's like Yeah she's real Yeah. Sarah. Sarah she's like ultimately Yeah, she yeah like PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, because he doesn't tell Nikki, he tells he tells ⁓ Sarah, she's like hugs him immediately, ⁓ my God, ⁓ and hugs him and stuff. So you can already you can already tell. That from that beginning, I was like, this definitely shows the classic of he got a crush on the wrong girl. ⁓ I've already could tell. ⁓ jason: You can tell. Right. Absolutely. Cause she she care like she can she genuinely cares for him. She asked him because they were like, Hey, let's go to another thing, you know, and he was like, I don't know. And and Sarah's like, What we need you. Like, come on, come on out, come on out. You know, like there's like that d appeal ⁓ that Sarah does for for ⁓ Bear when they leave. But ⁓ I think that's when right before that something, he goes to that store. That was before he actually went to the store before that. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, he went 'cause ⁓ cause ⁓ Nikki says she lost her ⁓ crystal necklace down the drain or something like that. And so and ⁓ also was it her birthday or something like that? It wasn't her birthday, was it? Okay, 'cause he was just buying her something. 'Cause he wanted to jason: Mm-hmm. I don't think so. No, it wasn't. He was trying to originally wanted to be nice to replace that crystal. So he went to a place that has crystals and things like that. And so he Yeah. So he ends up trying to find something like that, but he ends up finding something different. And I think she was Go ahead. PropJosh: ⁓ okay. Magical store in the Yeah. I was gonna ⁓ I was gonna say before you continue because talking about Sarah and Nikki, I think you said something to me about this with I ain't gonna give names at all, but I think you said this something something like this to me. ⁓ when we were at a bar and it was like, Hey, this girl's like talking to you a little bit more than the other girl you're trying to talk to. You yeah, I remember you telling me that last year. It was like you was like, Josh. jason: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to s notice. PropJosh: This girl right here is talking to you a little bit more than the girl you're trying to talk to. And I was like, well she's just a friend, you know. jason: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. It does take outside perspective to notice that sometimes 'cause you just don't notice. Yeah. One thing about Josh, Josh is gonna be friend zoning people. He's gonna do that. So he does it before they do it. He does it before they do it to him. It's like boom, I beat you to do the friend zone. Now I got the power. Still a lose situation. ⁓ goodness. ⁓ PropJosh: I'll friend zone everybody. Yep, that's the that's the trick. That's how you do it. You friend zone them first. Yeah. Yep, exactly. I don't know. ⁓ jason: But yeah, so before he goes to the Trivia Knight though, he's trying to get that crystal replaced, but he goes to that magical shop. And so there's where that, you know, that's the the thing, right? He finds his like wood piece of wood, wishing willow. So there's like a Yeah. ⁓ PropJosh: Yeah, the Wishing Willow for six ninety nine. And ⁓ of course the lady and it's funny how it's not all cryptic. It's not like ⁓ on ⁓ it's not like on ⁓ Gremlins or nothing like that where he goes to a strange shop. It's nothing like that. It's more like it's a like regular lady working there. Like, yeah, some people complained about this thing, you know. Kind of things like she's all nonchalant about it. jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's true. Yeah, that's what she said. Yep. It's like, yeah, people come back and scream about how, you know, she said they would be like crazy. He's like, What why would they complain about this? They wish they were dead. Yeah. She was like, they'd be wishing they're dead, or something like that. That's what they said, something like that. It's like, what? PropJosh: Right. Right then I was like, well, this thing is definitely yeah, right then I knew this is this thing is gonna work. Yeah, something like that. Yeah, yeah, exactly. I knew right then it's like people would be paying attention. See, I I don't know, man. I feel like in real life, if someone told me this, I would believe it. ⁓ jason: I mean, she was saying it in a way that was kind of joking, because she was very sarcastic the way sh her demeanor was. So, like, you know, if I'm at a store and someone says, you know, I'm trying to buy something that I like, you know, like, ⁓ man, people hate that, you know. And I'm like, well, why they hate it? They want to die after they get it. And I'm just like, What? I probably wouldn't buy it from them. Cause I'm like, okay. PropJosh: Yeah. End of movie. jason: Yeah, I'm like, What? Okay, let me not get that, you know Or not come back to this store 'cause I mean that doesn't help me to buy it. 'Cause I'm like, if someone says that to you, I try to sell if you're a salesman, why would you tell me this as a salesperson to you know, but he's like, Yeah, she was just being honest and frank, which she's like, We know we know as the audience that the movie's gonna go in a direction so we understand. PropJosh: Right. Right, otherwise we wouldn't be watching a movie. It'd be about something else. Right. jason: Right. So we know exactly that this is going to be a real thing because that's why we're watching it. So ⁓ that's he buys it. And I think his original thought, and this is where I didn't watch the trailer. So I was like, it could go it could happen where he ends up being obsessed. That could happen. Cause I didn't watch the trailer. I didn't watch the trailer. So I didn't know. I didn't know. PropJosh: kinda thought that too. I I kinda thought that too. I didn't watch yeah, me either, me either. So I was thinking that myself, like something could happen. Cause for me, before going in, I was like, well, I've seen this story before of a woman obsessed over a guy. So but but this but people were saying this movie is good, so I'm gonna see what's where this is gonna go, kind of thing. So you know, because I was like, yeah, this is predictable that the guy would wish the girl will be in love with him and stuff, you know, like that, that is a jason: As long as possible, you know. Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: thing that I've seen before kind of thing. But Yeah, yeah, that kind of thing. Exactly. jason: Right. 'Cause that's like love potion number nine or something like that, I think. Yeah, so there's definitely that, you know, factor that happens. It's like, okay, somebody's just kind of PropJosh: Yeah, but all right, so when they have the trivia night and they and they all hanging out and stuff like that, and ⁓ and then ⁓ Bear offers to drive Nikki home. And I think Nikki mentions that Sarah likes him. jason: Well, she asked him if she if he liked Sarah. He didn't s she didn't say that Sarah liked him. She was just like, you know, so sh you know, she was kinda talking. Yeah, she was like, Do you like her? You know, she was like kind of like that. Sarah's been talking about you. He was like, We we were talking and do you see her like that? And he was like, No, she's just a friend, you know? And so he kept saying that. And ⁓ but you can kind of see that he wanted to PropJosh: Okay. okay, okay. Or did she say something like Sarah's been asking about you or something like that? Or she says something like that. Yeah. jason: shift the conversation because he felt it almost seemed like in his mind she was shifting her shifting even more friend zones. So he was like, I mean try to not get because when a girl talks to you about another girl, then it's obvious that they're not trying to be into you. So, you know ⁓ goodness. He's like, what you think about what you think about Sarah? You know, that's what sh that's kind of how shad was PropJosh: ⁓ yeah, yeah. There's signs. There are signs of ⁓ friend zone coming up. I can see them a mile away. That's why I jump into it first. That's why I purposely don't talk ⁓ to a girl about another girl. I I remember in college I purposely friend zoned. Yeah, so in college I purposely friend zoned a girl because I did not because I didn't want to balance three girls. ⁓ jason: Unless you friend zoned them already. PropJosh: So when I was this was college, Josh. All right. So when I was in college, it was there was already two girls I was interested in. And then there was a third girl. And I I purposely friend zoned the third girl because I didn't want that much drama. Because I was already having drama with the the other two girls. And I remember, I remember the moment too, because I remember that that third girl, she had her eyes closed, ready to kiss me and everything. And I said and I I purposely shifted the conversation talking about the other girls. And then we became and it was friend zoned from then on. jason: ⁓ my goodness. Mm-mm. Wow. PropJosh: Yeah, I remember the moment she wanted to kiss me. jason: You intentionally friendzoned her. She was ready to kiss you and puckered up. He was like, And about that girl And then when I was over that other girl's house PropJosh: ⁓ he was talking about another girl, we're friend zoned. Okay. So yep, I know how to Yep. Yeah. That's why I got a show called Why I'm Single. jason: I was like, ⁓ okay, I guess it's Yep. That's so crazy. Josh the Heartbreaker. Breaking hearts. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Somebody wrote in a journal about you. Rot in a diary. Dear Diary. I went over my crush's house today. He started talking about a girl. I guess that's it. ⁓ PropJosh: Yeah. I never think I never think of myself as the crush. That's for me. I never think of myself as the crush. Never. jason: Yeah. How I mean that doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense for you to be the crush, you know? Girls don't crush on guys. That don't make any sense to me. So obviously they do. Of course they do. So because she and she says that she actually says, she says, Nikki says, No one would ever know when I crush on a guy. PropJosh: They do sometimes. Yeah. So Nikki ⁓ she did, I remember that, yeah. And then she asks him ⁓ after she dropped like after he drops her off, she says, Bear, do you like me? jason: Yep. She was like Well, he called he says something that triggers that 'cause he called her freaky Nikki. PropJosh: ⁓ what do you say? ⁓ that's right, that's right, that's right. 'Cause she was leaving and he said, Bye, freaky Nikki and she turned around, she said, Why would you say that? Yeah, yeah. jason: Yeah, so like 'cause he was trying to Yeah, she was leaving. Yeah, so Yeah, she got pissed. She was like, Why would you say that? And then she kind of confronted him, was like, Do you like me? And so tell me now. She was like, Tell me now if you do. Like where that came from. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: I wanna know about Freaky Nikki now. That trigger yeah, when that triggered her to s to have her ask him that and all that stuff. And like, hm. jason: Yeah. That's some backstory that I mean it's like, what is it about that that made her 'cause he was, you know, because was it Ian said to told him to call her that. ⁓ we find some stuff out later on about Ian. But that he ⁓ he was thrown off 'cause I think he wanted to give her something. He wanted to give her the weeping the the wishing willow for her to make a ru wish. PropJosh: Right. Yeah, about e yeah, we do. Yeah. Yeah, and a and a and a crystal thing. And yeah, I think he also bought a crystal thing 'cause he bought more than just a willow wishing willow. jason: Yeah. I think he wanted to make give her the to make a wish 'cause she was like, she's gonna stop working and he was feeling like it was, you know, the sh was gonna stop working so she can work on herself and try to find a, you know, career job or something somewhere else or school or yeah, freelance, right? And so, you know, he was like, Well, what do you want? And so she like, I wanna you know, all right. So maybe he can give her the wishing thing and I think that was his idea. But then after that PropJosh: ⁓ that's right. Yes, she put her two weeks in and stuff. Yeah, she's a writer and all that stuff. Yeah. jason: Awkward moment of her calling him free her him calling her freaky Nikki, her confronting him face to face. Do you like me? Tell me now. Because at that point, he's like, okay. I think in his mind, he's like, I could lose my friendship if I say yes. Because the way I just responded, you know? And so I think that he was, I think his his instinct was like, no, no. His fear was like, no, no, instead of taking a risk. Yeah. Mm-hmm. That's where he did that. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. No, I th it we're just friends. I see us as friends. It's like, dude jason: And so, but then out of frustration and anger and anxiety, which is the best way to make a wish. You know, he takes the weeping, the wit, the wishing willow out the package. Don't read nothing. Just like, you know, reads a little bit thing. I wish would love me more than anyone else in the world. Crack. And so I guess the way it works is like once you crack the the the branch, the wish comes true. PropJosh: I wish Nikki loved me me more than any anyone in the world. jason: And it was immediately, immediately PropJosh: Right. Immediately. That's what made it different to me already. Cause I expected this movie to be like, ⁓ it's gonna be a gradual thing. It's gonna be like the next day kind of thing. No, she immediately turns around, like immediately. That's what got me. I was like, ⁓ this works quick. jason: No, she was immediately obsessed. Yep. And to me, it's like he he should have known, even if, even if you don't like live don't know you're in a movie and you're unaware that magic is real. You know what I mean? Like you're not aware that the magic is real in this universe. But you did this thing. You you you did it, you broke the thing, and it was a wish, and immediately this girl is coming to you. PropJosh: Right. jason: After you c after a big confrontation, she's like, Hey, can I come with you? Can I stay with you tonight? Like what what? A home and so he's freaked out. But he he she you know, what does he take her home with him? PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's like 'cause she yeah, she gets in the car and all that stuff. But she's but she's acting very, very weird. Like like like jason: And so she mentions that yeah, she gets in car, she wants so weird. There's a couple things that's like crazy too, 'cause she's what the F. She's like So she does that. She like snaps in two seconds. She does that in the first scene. PropJosh: Well, kinda, kinda, 'cause kinda. Sh well, kinda, 'cause I've seen so many videos. So she kinda's like, What what am I doing? Wha am I here? ⁓ wait. And then she just it's like she's talking to herself. It's like two it's like she's struggling with herself a little bit. I I'll tell you when she says I I I'll tell you when she when she does that. Because I remember the part that she freaks out. She does, but it's she freaks out a lot, but it's I guess we'll get to it now. jason: I remember when she said like that she freaked out early on. But yeah, she did freak out. But she freaked out early on though. Sh she freaks out a lot. Let's talk about it. PropJosh: So she goes to it she goes to his house and she's all cold up with him and then eventually she like takes off her shirt and then she ends up like making out with him and while she's in the middle of making out with him, she's like, What the fuck? And then falls back and then and then he's like, Whoa, whoa, you you were kissing me. And she gets up ⁓ yeah, I'm I'm sorry, I I saw something. I thought I saw something. And so that was the clue right there. That's when she so but jason: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right. After that, ⁓ that was where you should have immediately tried to figure out what was going on. I mean, I was like, at that point, I mean, at you know, even before then, but that was enough to be like, whoa, this is wrong. ⁓ but he instead of doing that, ⁓ this dude just embraced it. PropJosh: Yes, yes. jason: There's this montage. There's this montage of them making you know, making each other breakfast and sandwiches and and and going on dates and making out and having sex and doing all this. There's this big montage of him just being the perfect couple. I wonder how long that was, do you know? PropJosh: Ha ha ha. ⁓ One day. No. jason: It could have been. The way the movie works. It could have been. 'Cause it was a big 'cause it didn't seem like what seemed like it was within the two weeks though. The whole movie feels like it was within two weeks. Cause I'm like, ain't no way in the world they spent that much time PropJosh: I know. Yeah. It does. It does. It's like she but one thing we we missed was during that time, before that time, she said that her dad was sick or something like that. Yeah, she before it was before the montage. Before the montage, she said her dad was sick. That's part of the reason why she wanted him to stay with her, kind of thing. And ⁓ 'cause and then they go to work the next day and he tells Ian what happens and stuff. It's like jason: that during the montage? After the before the montage? Okay. Yeah, that's right, that's right. So he's comforted her that night. Yeah. Mm hmm. Yeah, 'cause they don't do anything that first day other than kiss and she sh he ends up sleeping on the floor. Yeah. He ends up sleeping on the floor. PropJosh: Right, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He yeah, yeah, 'cause he's a little freaked out and it's it's 'cause like, yeah, when I first watched the movie, my thought was like, ⁓ something's controlling her. 'Cause the way she freaked out, what the fuck? And then fell down and stuff and I was I was like, that automatically got me like, ⁓ no, this ain't right. Yeah. ⁓ jason: Which is fair. He should have kept with that. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Absolutely. Yeah. Mm-hmm. This is not right. Not at all. But that wasn't enough for him. There's a couple things that like that ⁓ that got my attention of like this guy is not quite a good guy. so he calls the number on the back. ⁓ Yeah, this is not that's I mean, ⁓ the this is the part that I'm like, this is interesting to me. So we don't gotta talk to every every scene, but PropJosh: ⁓ you jumping way to the end of the movie. Well, yeah, well, I'm not going through every scene, but save that one. I want to save that because that's a big, big moment. That's a big moment that you're talking about. All right. ⁓ I don't want to go scene by scene. I wanna go by scene by scene, but I do want to talk about I kinda wanna go in order a little bit with the bigger scenes. So that's why I mentioned about her dad being ⁓ sick, because the big scene that happens, ⁓ because Ian tells ⁓ Bear that he finds out that Nikki's dad is not sick at all. jason: What else we gonna talk about? Okay. PropJosh: And so they're at the restaurant and ⁓ Bear confronts Nikki about that. And he's like, Hey, ⁓ is your your dad's not really sick, is he? And she's like, No, no, no, no. We were having such a good time. jason: Mm-hmm. That's another second Yeah. I think that's on the trailer. Yep. She goes crazy. She freaks out. Yep. PropJosh: Yeah. That's when she really starts getting crazy. Yeah, so at that moment, that's when you see all the craziness starts happening. So like like they're sleeping in bed and she's like st standing there in the corner watching him while he sleeps and and walking backwards and stuff, and she's just acting jason: Yep. She's one thing that I do notice, which is good ⁓ good filmography, cinematography. ⁓ there was moments where she's in the shadow, like her face is covered in the shadows a bunch of times. Yeah. That's so crazy, creepy. Cause I think the first time there's one time where she she shows up at his house after after he drops her off or something like that, and she ends up going to his house and like Yeah, yep. PropJosh: Yes, and her eyes are kinda glare yeah, glowing. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. 'Cause that's when she said she was on a drug type of thing 'cause he didn't know what was exactly wrong with her. jason: So that was at probably after the first day. So she ends up coming back. And so she's like in pitch black, but she's at the at the door. And you see her face, but you see her eyes glowing. And there's a couple times, I think even in that restaurant, there was when she stands up, you kinda there's like a shadow cast over her face. And then and then there's moments, yeah. So like the moment where she's like in the shadow in the corner. I couldn't see our theater was dark anyway. And I'm like, I'm just trying to figure out when he when he looked to see where she was. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Yep. ⁓ yeah, yeah. I love the lighting in this movie. Yeah. jason: I did not know where she was. I was like, where in the world? And then I see a shadow move, and I'm like, ⁓ goodness. Now, this movie has a plenty of jump scares, which is like, it's kind of like it didn't, it it didn't have to be creepy, but it was absolutely creepy, which made it a horror movie. Cause I think that you didn't have to, you could have had it, you could have filmed it differently and it wouldn't have been a horror movie. But because of the way it was filmed, she was so creepy. PropJosh: Yeah. Ha ha ha. Right, right. That's what made it a horror movie. jason: ⁓ cause she'd be looking at him. ⁓ she'd be ⁓ hiding behind a plant. She's walking backwards and creepy. I'm like, why do why you gotta walk so creepy? PropJosh: She was like hiding behind a plant or something, wasn't she? Yeah. Yeah, walking off slowly backwards and stuff. So one of my favorite scenes, 'cause this was ⁓ 'cause like 'cause yeah, like I said, all the stuff happens after the montage of them being in love and crap. And then you see all the crazy stuff, 'cause she even like feeds him his his cat, which is so weird. ⁓ yeah, she made a ⁓ she made a ⁓ memorial of his cat or something like that that first day, didn't she? And it was weird and he was like, Why would you do that? Yeah. So one of my favorite scenes was ⁓ she didn't want him to leave her or something like that and and he ⁓ jason: Yep. Yeah. Yep. That was the s that was later. Yeah, that was crazy. ⁓ my goodness. PropJosh: He was like about to go to work and then he just stares. You just see him stare. You didn't see you just see it from his point of view. Like the camera's just on him. And then it's like, you know, something's wrong. And then they show the door, and the door is completely covered in tug tape. ⁓ jason: Yeah. Duct tape. Like completely covered in duct tape. Cause he's going to work. She didn't have to work that day. And so yeah. That was good directing. Yeah. And he's he's talking. Yeah. His reaction was great too. Cause you're like, what? Because I was I think I said it in the audience, like, what is he looking at? And then they zoom out and they're like, wow. And then she was. PropJosh: Yeah. I love the way they did that because it's like the cause the camera was on him the whole time and you don't know what if what's you're about to see. You just see it his reaction. He's like That was done really well. That was probably one of my favorite reveals. jason: And he tried to pretend. Yeah, he tried to pretend like it was normal. Okay. You know, he kinda opened the door, obviously it's creepy. So he's trying to like make it not a big deal that she duct taped the entire front door. Like it's covered head to toe in duct tape. But he was able to get out of the door. I knew when she was looking at him after ⁓ that in that day that she wasn't gonna move. I was like, when she the way that they set it up well. PropJosh: Right, completely. Well yeah, it's too. I did too. I did too. jason: And she was looking at him, like, I'll be back whenever you get back. And I'm like, ⁓ yeah, she's not moving until he gets back. And I think he does. So that's when he he actually calls the number while she's standing outside. Cause that's actually happened. So that was in the same scene. So the interesting thing about it is I didn't realize how nasty this movie's gonna get. Cause this is the nastiest scene. But it gets even gory. It gets gory too. So it's like, ⁓ my goodness, this is definitely a horror movie. PropJosh: Right. Yeah. jason: So if you all the things you want in a horror movie, you will get this in this. ⁓ so when he calls the number, there's a number on the back. I think he does that even before he goes back to the store, which I was like, I would have like he should have went to the store ⁓ before this. But it wouldn't have ⁓ but PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah, I was like there were so many yeah, there were so many outs in my opinion for me. I was like, there's there's so many outs. jason: But it's like it could have been out, but he didn't want to be out. That's the thing. It's like even he wasn't he wasn't acting enough. He knew it wasn't yeah, he wasn't acting like he wanted her to stop. The Ian was like, Something's wrong with her, you know, she's not normal. You know, so he's concerned. ⁓ and then ⁓ he's like, Well, she's okay. It's like how y'all all of a sudden in the relationship that quick? Like, you know, it's like, well, I mean, you know, ⁓ just it just kinda happened. PropJosh: Yeah, that's how you know he wasn't a good person though. Right, right. Something's yeah, exactly. jason: But he ends up realizing that something's I think the duct tape being away from her, he's like, This is not right. I'm gonna call this number on this thing. Yeah. Cause he did eat the cat that same day. So he's like, This is this is weird. This is not right. So when he calls the number though, it's just some dude was like, Hey. So some guy on the phone. So he's like, Yeah. Yeah. Nice. That's funny. PropJosh: ⁓ yeah, eating the cat. That's when you found the food at you know Yeah. This is all not right. Yeah, she's she's not acting right. So you wanna know something about the guy on phone? That's the that's the director. That's his little cameo. jason: So I love that. I love that. That's a nice cameo. But like he says something that I was like, yeah, he's not the what he asked, the question he asked also shows me that he wasn't a good person. He was like, how do I alter this? PropJosh: Yeah, cause he said he cause he ⁓ how do I Yeah, that's what he asked, how do you alter it? Cause ⁓ cause the guy on the phone said, Did you want did you want to cancel the wish? He said, No, I don't want to cancel it. How do I alter it? And I was like, mmm, no. jason: I'm like Yeah. Yep. So his first question. His first question was like that. And then and then it creeps it's so it there's the creepy moment where he's like, Well do you want to speak to Nikki? And then and then there's just this screaming. This nonstop screaming. You get it now though. PropJosh: Right. Right. Just screaming. Which confused me at first. Cause ⁓ yeah, I get it now. Cause there's a lot of little clues that confused me. Because like going back to the cat eating the cat, there was a little picture of them and it said, and on the picture it says, not me. And I didn't know what that meant. I know what it means now. jason: Mm. Yeah. So you wanna share your theory of that? 'Cause I mean, I don't know if people conclude it. Is it a conclusion of kind of how it is? PropJosh: Okay, so the conclusion, especially when ⁓ as you watch the movie, it's regular Nikki trying to get out. She is trying her best to get out. That's why she freaked out when they were kissing. That's what she or she kind of talked to herself at the beginning. And ⁓ she that's her screaming. That was her that wrote the note, not me. And you'll see more stuff even more later that makes it obvious if you haven't figured it out like me. My dumbass didn't figure it out until it was like very obvious. So I was still confused even when he was she's on the phone screaming. jason: Mm-hmm. Right. Mm-hmm. Yep. Yep. But the most obvious point is when she's asleep, right? Is that when you realized it? ⁓ PropJosh: Yes, yes, yes. But before that, so the guy on the phone tells him say, Well, you know, the only way to break the wish is you will have to die. Which of course you put that in a movie, in a horror movie, it's like, well, I know how this movie's gonna end. jason: Yeah. Then you know he's gonna die. It's like he's about as soon as he said that, I was like, Okay, well he will die. I was like, That's his death sentence right there. and I like it that we didn't really feel they did it good enough where we kind of saw we didn't see him as a hero. ⁓ 'cause he was cause there was a moment where he after that, it's like PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: Is he gonna do anything to actually free Nikki? Because when when I heard the screaming, like he said, you want to speak to Nikki? And then there's screaming, and then he's like, only way to do this is if you die. The only way to get rid of this is you die. He's like, Well, no. And then he goes into the house, and she's got just she peased, pissed on herself, vomited on herself, just never didn't move. PropJosh: Yep. Ps and shit all over her yep. Bugs on her mouth, all that stuff. jason: Yeah, it's just like for for however long he was gone, she did not move a muscle and at least eight hours. And he was in the car, he was like I think he hung out a little bit. So it was like it wasn't from morning to night, she did not move. And I'm like, This is wrong. Like this is you and then it's like I think there was a moment, there's a couple of moments where I don't think it's after that. I don't know if they had any sex scenes after that. Maybe they did, but which makes it even worse. PropJosh: For at least eight hours. Ha ha ha ha! No, they didn't. It was sex scene was before. Yeah, yeah. They only showed one sex scene and jason: worse though. But even but that was even that looked like she wasn't there. It was like it was like I was like this this is what you wanted? It's like this is not consensual, sir. Like this is not so yeah, that wasn't so Yep. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: No, she wa yeah, she was looked away and he was just having yeah, it was a weird, awkward scene. ⁓ yeah, it wasn't right. Yeah, I yeah, I didn't feel comfortable. I know, I didn't Yeah, yeah. I I was not comfortable. I was not comfortable. I was like, mm, so this is this is off. This is very off. jason: So even though she's acting like she's a she wants him, ⁓ we see that it's not her. And it's like and I think that's where that moment demon, right? You can call it that. Yeah. PropJosh: It's not really her. Right. That's why I said not me. Like this is a it's a That's what some people are saying. Some people say, but the director says not. He says more like just a wish going wrong. jason: But there's a per there's a there's a obvious there is an obvious two persons that when she's when she's sleep, when she sleep. PropJosh: There is. I would say I I would say this. ⁓ before we get to that, 'cause that's a big one. ⁓ I think it's like a soulless thing. Like 'cause you ever heard like sometimes you could have like a a body that's soulless, but it's still operating. They did this on ⁓ a few different shows where ⁓ you could just not have a soul. So I think in my theory it's there's the soul Nikki that is trying to get out, that's trying to speak to him. jason: Mm. PropJosh: And then there's the soulless Nikki that's acting like that. That's just pretty much operating. That's why she's moving like she is because she's almost like an AI kinda thing. Like a yeah. jason: Yeah. Well, I the only thing that makes sense to me is a demon, because ain't no way in the world a soulless person would cut up a cat and feed it to somebody. You know what I'm saying? Like that's not soulless. You know, like the way that she was operating and moving, that's demonic. Like she was moving like a demon. You know? So that's it. That's it. PropJosh: Two Well that's where the theories come in, 'cause it's like there's a lot of theories. There's even a theories there's even a theory online that's saying that it's his cat. His cat is operating that body. jason: ⁓ okay. Yeah, 'cause his cat loved her. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean that the the director's th that's fine, the director will tell you what it's not, but I mean that doesn't stop us from still theorizing. But I mean like PropJosh: Yeah. Of course he squashed it and said, you know. Yeah, so it's a it's a few theories about it. Yeah, 'cause I like I said, my theory is it's it's a soulless. It's just a soulless entity. jason: It's soulless. I get it. But I think that it's more like when he when he made that wish, which makes sense, she trapped. So she's trapped, which is why the person on the phone was like, You wanna speak to Nikki? 'Cause she's trapped into this thing and where she's at is hell. You know, 'cause she's screaming. PropJosh: Well, or you know, it's the ⁓ what you call it in get out. It's the ⁓ what's the name? jason: Yeah. ⁓ yeah, the sunken place. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So she's in that space where PropJosh: Yeah, it's the second place. That's pretty much what it is. So I I definitely want to talk about the scene where they're at the friend's party. That so 'cause that happens after cause he tries to tell her that he's going to Ian's party and she and she's like of course she and yeah, she's like screens or something like that. And he's like, You can come too or something like that 'cause 'cause it's like Sarah was gonna be there too and Sarah was there. And so, ⁓ while they're at the party, 'cause she man, there's me she got she makes memes 'cause she got the she jason: Yeah. Right, that's the same day, right? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. ⁓ my goodness. PropJosh: Just that frowny face. That that me I know you see that picture. jason: Yeah, that's crazy. So I mean, just to pause for a second, she did an amazing job as that character. It's like, I'm like, hands down, like she played the crazy on another level. Like, that's why I said at the beginning, I like seeing her personality before. She was a fun person, but then obsessed her was definitely freaky Nikki. PropJosh: ⁓ yeah, yeah. This girl's getting a lot of this girl is getting a lot of attention right now, for real. Yeah. Yes, yes. Yes, yes. So so another big clue, and I was confused, I was still confused, 'cause after she gave some did some kind of poem while they were there, and of course, you know, when they did they were Yeah, and they did this ⁓ of course they did the ⁓ truth or dare or like kiss the person right next to you on your left or something like that, and then Nikki came over and moved Sarah out the way. jason: So yeah, it's crazy. She read something. Yeah, she wrote. Mm-hmm. Yep. ⁓ I call that. I call I called it before they even before he even pulled the thing, I said, it's gonna be kiss the person to your left. That's what I was gonna say. I said I knew it. I was like, I wrote it. Like they're sitting around after before. Like it's not, it's your turn. I was like, ⁓ yeah, before he even pulls it, I know exactly what it's gonna be. And she's gonna do exactly what she did. That's exactly right. Cause man, that was weird. PropJosh: Yeah, so she did that. But while after she does that poem, she like freaks out and it's Nikki again, and she grabs a bottle and tries to tries to hurt herself and then takes control of herself again. Because I didn't know that's like I said, but the first time I didn't know what was going on because I didn't realize I still my stupid self didn't realize it was Nikki, original Nikki trying to get out. jason: Yeah, she's hidden her safe, so that's here. Yeah. Trying to get out. Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Trying to say something. Cause she said, ⁓ I think she even yelled up something like, It's not me, that's not me. Or something like that. When she and and then hit herself with the bottle, and then she got back to being crazy. So fast forward till the the night when they're asleep. That's when I was like, ⁓ So yeah, it was like it was for they did that for me. I'm I'm slow sometimes. Sometimes I get it immediately, and other times I take forever. jason: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yep. They made it obvious. Mm. Mm-hmm. But that was this was the time that you didn't get it until later. PropJosh: Right. I didn't get it. I didn't get it. The director made that part for me when he's so he gets a text from Sarah, because Sarah's like trying to get into this school and you know they've been close. They had some scenes together and stuff. You know, there's clearly some kind of button romance going on with Bear and Sarah, which it watching a movie like this, I already knew what was gonna happen. ⁓ jason: Yeah. But it definitely was it was obvious that Sarah liked ⁓ Bear in a way that was more than just a friend. It was pretty obvious to the audience. PropJosh: Yeah. I mean, she was practically wearing a shirt to say, I love Bear. She might as well, you know, it was so obvious. So But ⁓ so Bear's leaving. That scene this scene is a trip when he gets up to leave to go meet up with Sarah and Nikki is talking to him. She's like, Bear, he's like, What? Kill me. It's like, What? 'Cause I was confused and didn't realize it was the real Nikki talking, 'cause she was like, careful, I don't want to wake her up. Like jason: Yeah. So Mm-hmm. PropJosh: You know, and I was like, and then Bear was all like, what's so bad about loving me? I'm like, fuck you, Bear. jason: Mm-hmm. That is when when he said that. When he said that, I was like, this guy is not a good person. I was like, wow, she's trapped. She's tormented. She says, kill me. And so he's so he in his right mind, he understands that she's not the same person. Like he he knows that. For him to say that reaction, he's talking to the original Nikki, and he knows that the original Nikki PropJosh: Right. Right. He Right. Now he knows for sure, yes, he knows for a fact that jason: Does not like this. She's stuck. And he's thinking, but he's thinking that, ⁓ she just don't like me in his warped mind. But it's like she's trapped, period. She's she has no even if even if she actually did but this and PropJosh: She's a prisoner in her own body. Right, he doesn't realize that she is she he yeah, she's a prisoner. She's forced to do things she doesn't want to do. But his his thought is like, well she's forced to love me. No, she's forced to stand there for ten hours shitting and pissin' on herself. She doesn't want to do that, dumbass. jason: Yeah. Yes. Nobody wants to do that. And it's like, even if even if she actually did like him, she didn't want to be like that. And she probably did. Cause that thing is, she also said no one would know. No one would know if I had a crush. She probably did have a crush on him and he wouldn't know. You know? PropJosh: Right, right. Not no more. jason: Nobody knows. Yeah, no, he's evil. Yeah, like he's he's a demon. You know what I'm saying? Like he's he willingly trapped her and then kept the trap because he's like, What's so wrong? And so it's like it's like after that point, it's like, yeah, he's he knows what he's doing. PropJosh: I don't know. Yeah, the title of the movie Obsession is about is Bear. Is about Bear, not Nikki. That's what it is. Bear's the one that has the obsession. jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah, he's a problem. And so yeah, that's I think that's definitely that is definitely the case because he's he's obviously selfish, you know, and it's like, yeah, he kinda s you kind of see him as a, you know, shy, innocent person at the beginning. ⁓ but if he gets what he wants in that wish, it kind of shows your true colors. And that's probably what the warning is. You know what mean? Cause I'm like, okay, if you actually you didn't you didn't wish for her well being. PropJosh: Right, yeah. jason: You know, like you just wished that she loved you more than anyone else and to a point where she was obsessed with you. And Yeah. Mm hmm. Yeah. PropJosh: Right, you didn't make a wish on yourself. Like, I wish I was the kind of guy Nikki would love. He could did that. No, he's like, No, I wish she was in love with me. You know. And not just in love. I wish she loved me more than anything in the world. That's why I thought about that Hercules episode. Cause he made a w he made a similar wish like that. Cause I was like, that is kind of a weird thing to say. You know? No, me either. jason: Mm-hmm. Yep. Not even just in love. More than anything else in the world. Like what? What? No. Yeah. I don't ever want that. I'm like, I am I am too flawed for anybody. Yeah, anything else in the world. PropJosh: I would never want that. No. I wish no, I want nothing to love me more than than anyone. I don't even want me I don't even want t myself to love myself more than anything in the world. jason: Mm-mm. No, no, no, no. Please, please. You know, I think love me, you know. ⁓ yeah, I think then when he goes to the store later at that at one point, she was like, Well, maybe you can ask her, ⁓ you know, ask her this is after the other thing, but he's like, Maybe you can because she loves you. I'm we're gonna go we're gonna talk about that in a second. But maybe maybe we can maybe you can ask her because she loves you. I was gonna say like if someone loves you PropJosh: ⁓ so ⁓ okay, okay. jason: you would think they would want to do what you say in a way. And so I think that he he didn't understand like not that he was he didn't fully embrace being he wasn't controlling, but he was controlling. And so he wasn't opening up enough. Cause I'm like, could he have made could he have made this obsession work for her well being if he actually 'cause I think there was one person that said, You now it's your responsibility to take care of her. So it's like, okay, can he create a s a a situation? PropJosh: Right. jason: Where if he's not so selfish, he could actually use her obsession to actually help her to become a better to you know, it stuck. It was too late. It was too late. PropJosh: Nah, it's it was too late. It's it's it's it was the wish itself. I think the wish in Willow probably read his heart, his thoughts when he made that wish. Because that's not love. And I don't think what he wanted was love. He I think he did want her to be obsessed with him. That's what I'm thinking when he did that, especially the way he acts. That's it seems like it did he didn't want love because it's like a real love would be different. You know, because Sarah was showing real love. And he barely wanted that. jason: Mm-hmm. Daddy was selfish jerk. Yep. No. Mm-hmm. Yep. Mm-hmm. No, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Mm mm. Yep. So let's talk about the car scene. Let's talk about Sarah. PropJosh: That was so he won he wanted someone upset. Yeah, the car scene. Yeah, so yeah. So Sarah you know, they they have this long scene together and I was like, this has been quiet for too long. They they they showing a camera angle from a s from way. I already knew which side 'cause the camera was set up because I was like, you know how I knew? 'Cause I would do this shit too. jason: I kept I mean, I was like, where's it c I'm like, what's gonna happen? You know, and I I I was trying to figure out which side she was gonna come on. So yeah, Sarah and Bear in the car in the middle of night. Like he literally walked out, which is like, okay, you know. I'm like, you already know she's crazy. She she you tried, which I don't understand when he took her to the hospital, why I didn't take her in. Cause she self she self harmed you that's a suicide watch. You know what I'm saying? Like she I don't understand because he was arguing with the nurse. Like, I'm like, why isn't she let in? Like she should be in the hospital. PropJosh: You know you got a crazy person. Right. That's right. Yeah, yeah. He should have did that. Yeah. jason: in a psych ward. Like she's clearly crazy. So like, you know, straight like a straight jacket, you know what I'm saying? Like that's all PropJosh: Right, of course, of course. It could be some it could be him as well saying that. He probably didn't want I mean, 'cause l like we've seen of Bear, he probably didn't want that completely. He probably was like saying stuff like, Well, can she still come home with me? That kind of stuff, you know. jason: Yeah, that's probably you're probably right. Yep. Yeah. Yep. That makes more sense. Cause I'm like if he actually loved her, he would have let her go into the hospital. PropJosh: Yeah, that's exactly what it was. So yeah, Nikki bust through the window. Yeah, but but yeah, she busts through the window and smashes Sarah's head against this brick several times so she has no face. jason: That was crazy. PropJosh: Yeah, that was crazy. I knew it was coming, but I didn't know it was gonna last that long. And my thought right then was like, okay, you need to take her to jail. But he was like, She's all done. He had the body with me and he's all helping her. And I said, Yeah, this is this is yeah. This is too much. I was like, well, he's not gonna let go of her, even though she just murdered somebody. So that's when he goes to the wishing to the to the place. jason: ⁓ my goodness, that was like Mm-hmm. Yep. It took him to see someone get murdered before he actually in front of his eyes. Like, ⁓ my goodness. Yeah. Day one. Maybe he could have, maybe he could have been a 24-hour turnaround on reading a fine print. Like, if you actually don't like this, you could get a refund. It could have been that. But he didn't even. It's probably reading a fine print, you know? So yeah. ⁓ my goodness. PropJosh: Right. Okay. I wanna do over. I I right. Like ⁓ man, dude. They should put that in there. They should put that in there. That that would be great. That would be great. So he tried to get another one and and and he can't make the wish. You can't you because there's only one wish. One wish forever. You get one wish forever. And that's it. Yeah, I don't know what I would have wished for. But ⁓ he asked the store guy and the guy's like, you can only make one. And so he tried to ask the guy, the store guy to make the wish for him. So, no, dude, I already used my wish. I wish to be chill. jason: It's only one wish. Yeah. It says one wish willow. Yeah. Yep. So wouldn't have did it. Mm-hmm. Is what he said? Yep. Yep. Yep. PropJosh: Pretty mu pretty much. He was just like a chill guy. It's like everything was everything worked out for him. Some people said maybe the woman at the beginning wished to be a man and that's who it was. Like no jason: Ha ha ha. So funny. That's hilarious. ⁓ my goodness. He chilled. He chilled. But that's who that's he who he suggested that he can get somebody to ⁓ make a wish that counteracts it or something like that. PropJosh: That's definitely not the case. But it's clearly true different people. Yeah. So the only person left in the movie, Ian. So he tells Ian and I movies, man. This is the difference between movies and real life. Ian doesn't believe him. I think in real life he would have. jason: So Yeah. Mm-hmm. Ian would have believed. Yeah, 'cause Ian was already suspicious and we find out that Ian actually had an aff had a a long time affair with Nikki. So he was on and off Yeah. PropJosh: Right, exactly. Yeah, so before Sarah died, she mentioned this that Ian and Nikki would used to hook up. And so they that Ian thought that Nikki was making Ian jealous by being with Bear. That's what the that's what the whole thought was. So so that's why and that's the main reason why Bear was all suspicious. I mean, ⁓ Ian was all suspicious. So suddenly, Ian, suddenly Ian is like, what are you talking about? jason: Hook up. Mm-hmm. So he knew something was wrong. Yeah. Like, I made a wish, she's obsessed. What do you mean? A wish? What are you talking about? That makes sense. Like, that's the only thing that makes sense. Like, she, yeah. It's like, yeah, no, that makes sense. I got a spell happened. This is a spell, it's a curse. And I need you to un I need you to break this curse by making this wish. ⁓ I wish for a billion dollars. ⁓ PropJosh: Cause the movie. If I was Ian, I'd be like that makes sense. That's gotta be the only explanation. At least humor him. Ha ha ha. ⁓ jason: Like what? And then a billion dollars falls from the sky. Yep. That's crazy. PropJosh: And billion dollars just falls on him. Yeah. Now there was no monkey's paw effect for that. jason: Not yet, because he died immediately. As soon as he walked into the house, as soon as he walks into the house, she shoots him in the head immediately. So I'm like, the thing is the wish, his wish about her liking him, they had that montage. You know? They had the montage of love and all the things. So I mean, I think that the wish works for a little bit, and then there's consequences for the action because of your selfishness. You know? So I think that's what it is. PropJosh: Right. So yeah, so yeah, so so Nikki shoots in w yeah. Yeah. jason: If your wish is set whatever and I mean I wanted to read the fine print on what it was written on there because there's probably some rules. You know what I mean? Like and some warnings. There's a bunch of warnings on there, but I would be good to see that. PropJosh: It probably is. It probably is. The the director is he has mentioned about making like an this is like an anthology series with the Wish and Willow, which I would love to see. I would love to see that. jason: Mm. I know that would make that would definitely get some people because we obviously are intrigued. You know, we're like, we're curious to see. I mean, Peacock is probably gonna see, like as much money as it made, like you said it went viral, it's probably gonna double, it's probably gonna increase because of the Peacock is like, ⁓ people have been talking about it. Let me go ahead watch it. Folks that don't go to the theater are now gonna watch it on Peacock. So they're gonna say, ⁓ man, look at all these streams. Yeah. Yep. PropJosh: I wanna see some more yeah. ⁓ Yep. Yep. That's very true. It's gonna be the num it's one hundred percent gonna be number one movie streaming on Peacock. You already know that. jason: It's gonna be streaming and then ⁓ yeah. So I I'm here for that. So I mean, you ready for your rating? 'Cause that's kind of your rating, right? Yeah. We're at the ending, yeah. PropJosh: Well, I want to talk about the ending, because we're at the ending now. So, ⁓ cause like ⁓ so Bear, he he only way to stop this is to kill himself. So he's he decided he wasn't gonna just kill shoot himself, so he's like he's gonna take his grandmother's pills just like the cat did. But he chickens out and starts throwing it back up, but it's too late. He tries to throw himself up, throw up. jason: Well, no. No, so it's not that I don't think he chickened out. So like what happened was he left one of those willows out. ⁓ and Nikki wished before he finished. So he took the pills and was ready to die. And then she made the wish, I wish that he was obsessed or wish that he loved me. And that's when he started trying to choke. 'Cause I was like, ⁓ he's trying to get rid of that, but it was too late, right? PropJosh: Yeah. It lo he loved me. Yeah. No, it was beforehand 'cause I seen a lot of videos about it. They 'cause they all they kept talking about how Bear was a wuss. 'Cause a lot of people were a lot of people wanted Bear to to yeah, to c commit to jason: Okay. All right. 'Cause then he after that point so that's when he 'cause he just he just snapped into like not caring anymore and just going and forgetting that he was the forgetting they even took the pills. Mhm. And that's when he just died anyway. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, 'cause that's yeah, yeah. He stopped. Yeah, yeah, exactly. He's stu he f he went straight to her and it was gonna be both two c yeah, then he started dying. Yeah. And then he dies and then Nikki ⁓ snaps out of it and she's in the worst situation ever. ⁓ jason: That makes sense. Yeah. She wakes up. Yeah. Every is the worst. You would think, is she crazy? No, she's not crazy anymore. But she's traumatized. She murdered all of her friends. She watched because it's kind of like is she watching? You know what I mean? Like, is it like where she's in the back seat of somebody else controlling her body? And so she can see everything. PropJosh: But yes, cause she's had to live through this. Yes. Yes. She's number one, yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what I felt like it was. Yeah. That's why she was like wanting to kill herself and freaking out, all that stuff. Trying to get it's like she jason: Mm-hmm. It's like you're chained. It's like you're chained up and you're watching someone use your body to do things that you hate. That's crazy. Like to murder the people that you love, you know what I mean? To just be basically raped. You know what I'm saying? Like that's I mean, I'm sorry, but that's what it was. That's what it was. PropJosh: Yes, yes. It's it's horrible. That's why she wanted to die. Right. You're not the only one that said that, trust me. You're not the only one that said that. That is that is not consent, so yeah, well, you know. No, it was not. jason: It's like, ⁓ my goodness. It is not consent. Yeah. She said, kill me. She'd rather die. Is it just so much? Is it so bad to love me? Like, you know that's not love. PropJosh: No, it's like maybe she should have said, Well the sex wasn't bad so so we can ⁓ clarify it now anyway. ⁓ jason: Yep. Ha ha ha! PropJosh: No, no. It was not right. The whole situation wasn't right. He had a he had a solace demon puppet that he was Yeah, that's exactly how it ends. jason: ⁓ b ⁓ man. No, it's not right at all. Yeah, so she and that's how it ends. Yeah. Yep, it just goes off after that. So she's screaming in horror 'cause she's just she's back to normal you can tell she's back to herself, but she's definitely PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Yep. She's screaming and crying and stuff as the camera as it goes off. She's at least she's back to normal though. At least she's back to normal. At least you got that. But you also have a billion dollars on the floor. jason: Normal. And she's got a billion dollars at Ian's house. A billion dollars at Ian's house. She doesn't know about that. Ian sh she murdered Ian. She shot him in the head. She made a note about it because he does say, I got a billion dollars. And then she shoots him in the head. So she but it's PropJosh: I think she does. Right. So she probably does know. She probably is paying attention. The smart thing to do is get that billion dollars and get out of there. ⁓ jason: She she murdered everybody. It's all evidence is pointing to her. She can't plead crazy. I mean, maybe she could plead crazy. PropJosh: I know, I know. Yeah, ⁓ yeah, yeah. Loyal witnesses when she did that at the party, so then that and you know, then later on everybody's dead. So so favorite characters. jason: But still. Yeah, she was crazy. Everybody's dead. Man. Freaking I mean, it's hard not to love freaking Nikki, man. It's like she she was crazy. She like I said earlier, that actress definitely did the part, ⁓ played that p character to be crazy and and I'm glad she was the one that survived. You know, Nikki was the one that survived. 'Cause she didn't deserve that. I mean, it's like she was a sweet person. She was Yeah, that's just like that's torture, that's scary. So PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, this is not her fault. Just because this guy liked her. That's all it took. That's all it was. That's not fair. That wasn't fair for her. Yeah. Just 'cause she's pretty. jason: Mm-hmm. Not at all. And she probably d she she could have liked them too. Like that's the thing about that. It's like Yep. PropJosh: I know that's that's a lot of people said online. She probably did like him. That's what's so stupid about it. She was hooking up with Ian. Come on. jason: So Right. And it wasn't serious. So she called she probably could have been like, Yeah, if actually you talked to me as a human, 'cause she liked him as and she was liking him as a friend, absolutely. But I think she probably liked like would have liked him if he actually approached her in a different way. PropJosh: Yeah. Right. He had to yeah, if he manned up, she probably liked him more. That's what it was. He wasn't manning up. He was being a nah, he was nah. jason: Mm. Yep. Not at all. Not at all. There was nothing in this movie that showed him to be a man. You know who my least favorite character. ⁓ goodness. Yeah. Least favorite character. Yeah. PropJosh: I do feel a little bit bad for Bear. ⁓ yeah, Bear is your favorite character. Least favorite. I felt I did feel bad for Bear because, you know, he's the protagonist. So I was like, I felt for him, but I did of course I didn't agree with his decision making. And it was a lot of times where I was like, I wouldn't have done that. No, that's not a good idea. ⁓ But I guess the movie. jason: He made horrible decisions. No. Mm mm. Not at all. Not at all. PropJosh: That's what kinda makes it a horror movie as well. Like he wasn't he 'cause he it's almost like he could have stopped it or at least not make it so bad or something. I don't know. How would he stopped it? If he if he was a good person. jason: Yeah. I don't think he could have I mean, if he was a real good person and it was the only way to do it was to die. That would've been another horror movie, but he would have took himself out. PropJosh: Yeah. But he wouldn't be able to kill himself. I cause I understood that. It's like, well I can't just kill myself. Cause when she said she could have died, 'cause she like, Die kill me so I can die 'cause my thought was like, Well then I need to die so she could be free. That's what I my thought would be, but I'm a good person. jason: Yeah. That's exactly right. Mm-hmm. Yep. PropJosh: He was thinking something different. Is it so bad to love me? jason: But yeah, he wouldn't have he he it was he was forced into that. That was the last, absolutely the last resort where he tried to kill himself. And so Mm hmm. And it's his fault. And she said that you wanted this. She said that to him. You wanted this. After she murdered Sarah. She said, You wanted this, see? So, yeah. PropJosh: Right, because his friends are all dead. That's why. Yeah, yeah. ⁓ wow, yep. Mm, mm. jason: What would you give it what rating would would you say what's your favorite character? PropJosh: ⁓ I was the same. ⁓ N Nicky's my favorite character. jason: Uhhuh. Yeah, it's hard not to hard not to love her. I mean she crazy, so you know, she did good. PropJosh: Yeah. ⁓ yeah, my rating is sequel. It's a sequel. I definitely want to see this done again. I wanna see Yeah, of course not these characters. I mean, you know. I don't you know, Nikki probably got arrested. but I want to see the wish and willow. I want to see this director do this whole thing, you know, another series of things that happens with a wish and willow. Yeah, yeah. I'd I'd one hundred percent by hear jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah. And she would definitely be Anthology. PropJosh: From the guy who brought you obsession comes a new movie, I'm I'm going to see a day one. I'm one hundred percent gonna see it. jason: You're gonna watch it, yeah. Which I think he's he's a gotta r he's probably wrote it already by now after this summer. You know what I mean? Like after seeing what happened this summer after this, he probably definitely wrote a couple of ⁓ and so yeah, I'm here for it. I'm a s I'm the same. I think I definitely would give it a a pretty good sequel. ⁓ you know, like I said, PropJosh: ⁓ yeah, people are approaching him. Yeah, yeah, of course, course. Of course. Curry Baker. I'm trying to figure out his remember his name because I didn't want to mess up his name. Obsession. jason: Yeah. Did he write it and direct it? PropJosh: Yes. jason: Yes, that's always good when you see somebody like that. So PropJosh: Yes. Curry Bak Barker. Barker. Yes. Writer and and director. Curry Barker. jason: Mm. Yeah. Here for a second, I mean here for anthology, you can go in on that. ⁓ so I it could be a show, you know, hour long, couple of things, you know what I mean? You could do that, you could build off of that, you can do another movie. ⁓ so that's my rating. PropJosh: ⁓ yeah, yeah. Your rating is what? Okay. jason: Sequel. I say. I said the same thing. You weren't listening. It's horrible. ⁓ my goodness. Man. PropJosh: ⁓ okay. make a wish to make sure I'm listening. I wish Josh would I wish Josh will only listen to me. Ha ha ha. ⁓ jason: That's the thing though, like I thought about this, ⁓ I think I was in my journal reflecting. ⁓ and I was just like in the mind of like thinking about what I want in life. And that's a question, it's like, what do you want? You know, I think about that, like, what do I want? And I just started making a list of things and I was thought about it. I I I watched ⁓ I was watching Death Note at the time. And then Death Note the guy, the anime, you know, he writes down things in the book and they die. PropJosh: Yeah. Right. Right. jason: ⁓ and it's controlled by demons and it's a book. And so I I end up thinking about like what would happen if everything I wrote down actually came true as what I wanted, you know? And I was like, Ooh And I thought about that. It's like do you all do you really know what you want? You know, like do you really want what you want when you want it? Is it safe to actually get the things that you want the way you want them? ⁓ PropJosh: Ha ha ha. No, not yeah. jason: Cause it's like there's lessons that you learn from the process. And I think that I thank that God that I'm not sovereign and I don't have I don't just make a wish and it comes true. Because there's things in life that I've learned from experience that is that I wouldn't have learned with the things that I wished for or thought I wanted. And some things I thought I wanted that I got that I didn't want after I got it. So it's like, ⁓ yeah. PropJosh: ⁓ yeah. Of course, of course. Everything comes at the right time and everything, yeah. jason: So there's something about that. And I think that's, you know, final thoughts, right? That's kind of final thoughts. It's like, no, be careful what you wish for. But I think that's where it's like a I do believe that there are there are people on this planet that are just takers. And that's kind of where you get what you want mentally. So you've got enough money, got enough power, you got enough whatever, you know, influence, then you just take what you want. You can think about that, but there's consequences and the world is showing there's consequences to that now. So I mean like P. Diddy, he was a person that just took whatever he wanted. Anytime he wanted it, 'cause he had the power, he had the influence, he had the money, and there's consequences for that. So I think that, you know, I think that I don't want to live like that. I think that's selfish. ⁓ but it's I mean, it's like, okay, well, how do you when you I don't wanna ever force anybody to do anything they don't want. PropJosh: Right. Yeah, yep. Obviously. jason: Cause I'm like, do I want to love someone that's forced to love me? Absolutely not. Like, I don't want anyone, like, they feel like it's a transaction or like it's like an obligation. Like, not like I don't want anybody to be obligated to care. Like, that's not real. Like, I don't want that. You know what I mean? It's like that doesn't make me feel good. All right, good night. ⁓ PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. Yeah. Me either. And that's why I'm divorced. Good night, everybody.
