- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So often we on this podcast, we talk about our focus and we
- 0:35talked about how important focuses but the real reason for
- 0:39that the real end all be all of why we do that is because we
- 0:44have to control our focus. And we have to know that what we
- 0:47focus on brings about more of it in our lives.
- 0:51So when you keep taught, when you keep focusing on what's
- 0:55wrong and you keep talking about what's wrong, you keep
- 0:59manifesting what's wrong. Because it just gives it more
- 1:02energy and it exacerbates it and it just keeps getting bigger and
- 1:06bigger and bigger. You know, years ago, I was
- 1:10working on the road and somebody left a book at a table.
- 1:14And I thought this book was so fascinating because the name of
- 1:17it was how to improve your marriage without talking about
- 1:20it. I mean, doesn't that just sound
- 1:21like the most amazing thing to read like, okay, we're not going
- 1:24to talk about it. It's going to get better.
- 1:26Well, when I got the book and I actually read it.
- 1:28I was like this, this is brilliant.
- 1:30Liat because it takes away so much of the negativity.
- 1:34And that's often what happens when you're in these situations,
- 1:38you're coming at it from your position, you want to defend
- 1:41your position. So naturally because you want to
- 1:44protect your position and defend it, you keep talking about
- 1:48what's wrong and it keeps going over and over and over.
- 1:51Well, the problem with talking about what's wrong, is that it
- 1:54grows bigger and bigger and bigger at, this is a big reason
- 1:56why marriage counseling rarely works, because you go and you
- 2:00Then you spend an hour talking about the problem and you don't
- 2:04leave with a solid solution but you clearly know what you don't
- 2:07like in the other person and in the situation that's there, and
- 2:10then you leave and you're sent home alone together.
- 2:13And so we all know the statistics on does marriage
- 2:16counseling work and they're really not great.
- 2:19So this core message is from that this core message is.
- 2:24Hey listen when you talk about what's wrong, you manifest,
- 2:27what's really wrong, even more, and You're the sad part of this
- 2:32is your missing the real message in it all because when things
- 2:35show up and they're not good, they're meant to give you
- 2:38information and you have to decide what you're going to do
- 2:41with that information. Are you going to use utilize it
- 2:44to help yourself move forward? Or are you going to keep it the
- 2:47way that it is so that you can defend your position?
- 2:51Make sure you're right, are you with the other person and cause
- 2:54even more issues, I mean, that that is in a nutshell, the most
- 2:59important part. Of this podcast today you have
- 3:03to make a decision if it's important to defend your
- 3:06position or is it important to move forward?
- 3:09Is it important to find happiness?
- 3:11Is it important to focus on the message of what's wrong?
- 3:16So you know what to repair fix. Look at explore, whatever words
- 3:21you want to use, but not sit there and keep focused on it
- 3:25from a position of really trying to stack stack.
- 3:29Stack stack stack A call the stuff that's wrong because
- 3:32that's not going to help you. You already know what's wrong.
- 3:34You don't need more evidence of it and that's all it is a moat,
- 3:38remember, emotions are here to give us information, the more
- 3:40information we have, the more we can do with it.
- 3:43So this comes down to you being very smart, very clear and very
- 3:48honest with yourself about what you're going to focus on.
- 3:51So you understand. Hey, I am not going to keep
- 3:55talking about what's wrong. I'm not going to keep going over
- 3:58it and over it and over it and over it in my head.
- 4:00And the more I talk about it, the more I give it life, the
- 4:03more I talk about it, the more this becomes a big thing, the
- 4:08more I see this, the more it grows that is what's so
- 4:13important about this, it's that you're killing the monster while
- 4:16it's small. Don't let it take over in your
- 4:18head, don't let those things eat you up and if you're not
- 4:21qualified in those moments to just say, okay, I can discern
- 4:25what it's trying to give me for information.
- 4:27Then you simply say to yourself. Okay, right now.
- 4:30I'm too heated. I'm too irritated.
- 4:32I can't make a judgment on this. So I'm going to put it aside.
- 4:36I'm going to put this in neutral for right now and I'm going to
- 4:39come back to it when I am in a better state of mind because I'm
- 4:42not qualified to make a decision about it right now.
- 4:45And that to me is the most powerful thing that we can do is
- 4:50putting it in that perspective. So I hope that that makes sense
- 4:54to you guys. I hope you utilize this and I
- 4:56hope you have an incredibly blessed day that is giving you
- 5:00Information. And you're letting go of the
- 5:02irritation, all right? My friends have a great one.
- 5:05I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye.
- 5:00Information. And you're letting go of the
- 5:02irritation, all right? My friends have a great one.
- 5:05I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye.
