  [SPEAKER_00]: It's Tuesday, August 11th, and we just got done with Jaguar's training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The final full practice, if you will, and even then it was a little bit shorter than normal before the Jaggs head out to New Orleans to have a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints and a preseason game on Saturday.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was a, I think a day where there was plenty of intensity, it was full pads out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now there was a lot of players not available for this practice and we didn't get any real clarity.

  [SPEAKER_00]: from Liam Cohen about timelines, et cetera, injuries.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars at this point in the season, they're not required to give any real updates on that type of stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's well within their right to kind of withhold information.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think from a strategic standpoint, they probably shouldn't be offering everything that they possibly could, that they're not required to at this point from injuries.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're doing exactly what they should, holding injuries close to the vest at a time period when they actually can do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: pretty good player, pass break ups, tight coverage, special teams, all that stuff, they waived him, they signed a Mari Bernie, linebacker, and I believe maybe this has to do with injuries that linebacker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jack Kaiser's down, Jalen McLeod was unavailable today, Jalen McLeod and Jack Kaiser obviously not the same position, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think with McLeod not being available today and then you see a Marry Bernie come in, I think you can kind of connect the dots there a little bit that's my take on it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Marry Bernie former Florida Gator obviously, I think a lot of people that watch this channel are our Gator fans, so we'll remember him from UF, but I didn't really didn't play

  [SPEAKER_00]: didn't get on the field, I should say, in 2025, but it's been a couple years with the Raiders as bounced around a little bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, he is, you know, depth way down the roster, way down the depth chart for the Jaguar is that linebacker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Presumably, Sam, I mean, we can look at what he's done in the past.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, with McCloud not being up for this practice and then Bernie coming in, that's kind of my thought process there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think they're very happy with Branson Holmes, Ventral Miller, Dennis Guardack, obviously for a little kind, but no Jack Kaiser, maybe they haven't loved everything they've seen from Parker Hughes so far.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure exactly, but yeah, it's a situation where there's some injuries there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lannon still working off to the side, still on the active slash PUP, still no Jack Kaiser, who is expected back during training camp, no Walker little in this one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's missed a couple days now after going down with an injury, Patrick McCary still not doing teamwork, was working on the bike during individual drills.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis was off to the side today.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That was the first time I think we haven't seen him in a while.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He did have a foot injury, kept him out of the back half of the season last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: but he's been looking good throughout training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's definitely something we'll be monitoring, moving forward, nose act, derby.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, basically like a hybrid edge slash off ball linebacker position for the Jag wars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Looking at some of the highlight plays, plays that stood out, cam, little,

  [SPEAKER_00]: They progressed from pretty close kicks all the way to deep, and the last one was definitely 60 plus.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he's doing cam little things, no big surprise there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Did see Nate Borkacher kind of limp off the field a little bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not sure he looked okay, but don't really have an update on that at this point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar's run defense really brought it to the Jaguar's rushing offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Liam Cohen mentioned that after practice today as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The run defense, the number one ranked run defense in football really got after it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I did see at least one very nice run by Basel Tutan, who, in my opinion, continues to be the standout running back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Doing things in the passing game, catching passes out of the back field, you see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: a baller throughout this training camp process and really a practice warrior for the Jaguars that I think you have him on the practice squad and you feel comfortable calling him up if you have to.

  [SPEAKER_00]: he and Devon Neal teamed up on that deep past breakup and then he had another nice tight coverage play where he kind of denied the throw.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Braswell fighting for a roster spot now after being a player who stepped up earned his way onto the roster last year with the new regime actually got playing time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, when Greg Newsom was dealing with some things, did a pretty good job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar has picked up his, um, you know, exclusive rights for Agent Tender, um, signed him to the one-year deal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And now, after dealing with injury this off season, which he's dealt with in the past, he's dealt with injuries throughout the off season, um, getting out there and actually making supplies.

  [SPEAKER_00]: they brought it, Liam Cohen didn't love to see that, but he did like to what he saw from his first string passing offense and we'll get to that in just a second first Ruka Roarro did have it would be sack as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So defense making a lot of plays, but not a lot of plays in coverage against the Jack Wars ones and the Jack Wars ones were going

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it wasn't just like one versus two, two versus one's all that sort of stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: First play, Trevor Lawrence and the center had a little bit of a miscommunication fumbled snap there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Lawrence got back on it though, but then you get the passing game going and Trevor Lawrence today was nine of 10.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And passing again, a couple periods shorter than normal would be for a practice here that's a fully padded practice for the jags, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: Second throw was a completion to Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Third throw was a completion to Parker Washington with Travis Hunter and coverage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington got behind Travis Hunter on the sideline.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's one of the very, very few times you've seen Travis Hunter have any difficulty covering someone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be times where even Travis Hunter is going up against a very talented receiver and allows a completion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar there's still struggling with the screen game on offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Something you thought with Liam Cohen coming in last year, they would be able to clean that up, get that going.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It hasn't really gotten going so far in training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's something we'll definitely keep in eye on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the final throw was a completion to Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think any of those would have gone for touchdowns.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you could argue the Parker watching one, but now I think that no touchdowns no interceptions today for Trevor and only 10 throws and no red zone work.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So through these practices, he's now 91 of 144 13 touchdowns, five interceptions.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I don't think tracking practice numbers for a quarterback is all that relevant or helpful or useful, but we do it because people want to hear it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he's completed like 63% of his throws with 13 touchdowns and 500 receptions.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, now the jag wars have a walk through tomorrow and then they will take on the New Orleans Saints in a joint practice on Thursday and then Saturday.
