• 0:09
  Speaker 1: What's up, everybody?
• 0:10
Speaker 2: Welcome into another edition of a Czech o'deli. It's Andrew
• 0:12
Speaker 2: Dichecko here from Inside the Birds dot Com. The Eagles
• 0:15
Speaker 2: elevate two players ahead of Saturday afternoons game versut of
• 0:19
Speaker 2: Washington Commanders tight NDJ Jenkins and cornerback Brandon Johnson.
• 0:24
  Speaker 1: For EJ.
• 0:25
Speaker 2: Jenkins, it's his second elevation of the season for the Eagles,
• 0:28
Speaker 2: and if you think back to last season, he has
• 0:32
Speaker 2: one career reception for seven yards and it was a
• 0:34
Speaker 2: touchdown that happened late in the season. And then for
• 0:37
Speaker 2: Brandon Johnson, this is an interesting one because it's his
• 0:40
Speaker 2: first NFL game upcoming and this is a younger corner
• 0:45
Speaker 2: He's a rookie out of Oregon, startist career at Duke.
• 0:48
Speaker 2: I wrote a story about Brandon Johnson or Inside the
• 0:51
Speaker 2: Birds dot Com, and he has a really interesting story
• 0:55
Speaker 2: because he can play nickel, so he's a type of
• 1:00
Speaker 2: defensive back, but he can also play a little bit
• 1:03
Speaker 2: of safety, which he has had a little bit of
• 1:06
Speaker 2: experience playing in practice this season. I get a chance
• 1:09
Speaker 2: to talk to him a little bit throughout the season
• 1:12
Speaker 2: during open locker room. Really good kid, and I even
• 1:16
Speaker 2: remember mentioning something to him. Maybe it was last week
• 1:20
Speaker 2: that it's like, I get the sense that your time's
• 1:23
Speaker 2: you know, gonna happen. You'll get a chance to play
• 1:26
Speaker 2: at some point before the regular season's over in terms
• 1:29
Speaker 2: of an elevation, and here it happens.
• 1:32
Speaker 1: You know, here it is.
• 1:33
Speaker 2: And so those are your two elevations for the game
• 1:36
Speaker 2: and they'll be active in playing Saturday afternoon at Northwest Stadium.
• 1:41
Speaker 2: If you want to learn more about Brandon Johnson, check
• 1:43
Speaker 2: out my story from the preseason from Inside the Birds
• 1:46
Speaker 2: dot com and it's on there.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: I reposted on my x platform. So there you have it.
• 1:51
Speaker 2: That is the roster transactions ahead of today. We'll see
• 1:55
Speaker 2: what they could potentially mean. Now, it's important to remember
• 1:59
Speaker 2: that Cameron Latsu was listed as limited with a stinger injury,
• 2:06
Speaker 2: and sometimes those type of injuries can be fickle. I'm
• 2:10
Speaker 2: not even going to come close to speculating, that's not
• 2:13
Speaker 2: what I do. But when you look at yet another
• 2:15
Speaker 2: tight end being elevated, that would maybe provide a little
• 2:19
Speaker 2: bit of insurance, maybe in case the injury is aggravated.
• 2:23
Speaker 2: Who knows, but you don't quite know how both of
• 2:27
Speaker 2: those players fit into the equation because the Eagles don't
• 2:30
  Speaker 2: necessarily need.
• 2:31
Speaker 1: Another nickel corner, or.
• 2:35
Speaker 2: Maybe he could be a backup safety for Brandon Johnson,
• 2:38
Speaker 2: kind of like what they had in Andre sam special
• 2:41
Speaker 2: team's depth and backup safety safety depth as well. Who knows,
• 2:47
Speaker 2: but those are the two elevations, that's the bottom line,
• 2:50
Speaker 2: and we'll see how they fit into the game day equation.
• 2:54
Speaker 1: And Eagles are pretty.
• 2:56
Speaker 2: Healthy going into this one, and so I think you
• 3:00
Speaker 2: should feel pretty good about this.
• 3:01
Speaker 1: I look at the situation.
• 3:03
Speaker 2: I'm not going to rehash a lot of this because
• 3:05
Speaker 2: I talk a lot about it during the week, but
• 3:07
Speaker 2: one of the matchups I'll be keeping an eye on
• 3:08
Speaker 2: a lot is left tackle Brandon Coleman, who's filling in
• 3:10
Speaker 2: for Larmy Tunsel, and right tackle Josh Connelly, the rookie
• 3:13
Speaker 2: first round pick out of Oregon, going against the Eagles
• 3:16
Speaker 2: edge rushing group that has sort of come alive a
• 3:18
Speaker 2: little bit of late. And whether it's jaylyox Hunt who
• 3:22
Speaker 2: leads the Eagles in pressures and sacks from that position.
• 3:25
Speaker 2: Nolan Smith picked up a sack against the Raiders, but
• 3:27
Speaker 2: I'm looking at Jalen Phillips, who has been active, and
• 3:32
Speaker 2: you look at Yeah, he has one sack since joining
• 3:35
Speaker 2: the Eagles in the trade deadline, and he did get
• 3:38
Speaker 2: a hand up on a fourth down stop that early
• 3:41
  Speaker 2: in that game.
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: Against the Raiders.
• 3:42
Speaker 2: He hit the arm of Justin Herbert and was able
• 3:46
Speaker 2: to affect the throw enough where Dori Jackson secured his
• 3:49
Speaker 2: fifth career in interception.
• 3:51
Speaker 1: I think that that is going to be the game
• 3:53
Speaker 1: within the game there.
• 3:54
Speaker 2: And if they're able to maintain rush discipline and not
• 3:56
Speaker 2: allow Marcus Mariota to be able to find running lanes
• 4:00
Speaker 2: and pick and pick up some first downs and generate
• 4:03
Speaker 2: some momentum, I think that's also gonna be key.
• 4:05
Speaker 1: But if they're able to do that, I think they're
• 4:07
Speaker 1: gonna be just fine. The back end has been stabilized
• 4:10
Speaker 1: with Marcus Apps. He's sort of settled things down.
• 4:12
  Speaker 2: I don't know that it's fully appreciated what having a
• 4:16
Speaker 2: veteran safety playing opposite Red Blankenship means for Red Blankenship
• 4:20
Speaker 2: where he's not necessarily having to carry I guess you
• 4:23
Speaker 2: could call it a burden or added responsibilities if you will,
• 4:26
Speaker 2: when you're playing beside a rookie like he was for
• 4:28
Speaker 2: most of the season with Drew mccooba. It limits a
• 4:31
Speaker 2: little bit. It doesn't exactly free you up as much
• 4:34
Speaker 2: to do some of the other things and wear multiple hats.
• 4:38
Speaker 2: You have to be cognizant of making sure that your
• 4:41
Speaker 2: partner and you're on the same page. Communication is where
• 4:46
Speaker 2: it should be, and so I think Marcus Apps has
• 4:50
Speaker 2: sort of helped stabilize that in a way. And of
• 4:52
Speaker 2: course with Dori Jackson putting his stamp on that number
• 4:55
Speaker 2: two cornerback spot when the Eagles pass rush is playing
• 4:58
Speaker 2: as well as it is, all that that make it
• 5:00
Speaker 2: life easier for the back end. You want to ideally
• 5:03
Speaker 2: marry your rush and your cover group, and the Eagles
• 5:06
Speaker 2: seem to be doing that. I don't like hearing it
• 5:09
Speaker 2: was just the Raiders, especially when you beat the Raiders
• 5:12
Speaker 2: thirty one to zero. The Raiders are an NFL football team,
• 5:15
Speaker 2: and the Eagles took care of business the way that
• 5:17
  Speaker 2: you would expect.
• 5:18
Speaker 1: The team that's viewed among the NFL as the league
• 5:20
  Speaker 1: to do.
• 5:21
Speaker 2: You can't control who you're playing, you can control how
• 5:23
Speaker 2: you play against them, and the Eagles took.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: Them to task, and so much so that they limited.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: Them to the to the fewest yards that they had
• 5:33
Speaker 2: since nineteen fifty five where they allowed forty nine.
• 5:35
Speaker 1: Yards to the Chicago Cardinals.
• 5:37
Speaker 2: So they emphatically put a you know, they trounce the raiders,
• 5:44
Speaker 2: and that's what you want to see.
• 5:45
Speaker 3: Hey, it's Jeff Mosher, and nothing is more important to

Speaker 2: So I look at this commander's game and there are
• 8:30
Speaker 2: some boxes I would like to see the team check off.
• 8:33
Speaker 2: You don't want to give them early life, so I
• 8:35
Speaker 2: think that trying to get out to an early league
• 8:37
Speaker 2: should help them. I think Dallas Goddard going against that
• 8:40
Speaker 2: second level where you have Bobby Wagner, who's a veteran player,
• 8:44
Speaker 2: doesn't move like he used to which is expected, but
• 8:46
Speaker 2: Bobby Wagner's had a Hall of Fame caliber career and
• 8:49
Speaker 2: then you have Frankieluvu.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: That's an area where the Egles should be able to exploit.
• 8:54
Speaker 2: Hoping to see the Eagles continue to lean into their
• 8:57
Speaker 2: short to intermediate passing game and getting God involved and
• 9:01
Speaker 2: taking advantage of it and really building off of some
• 9:03
Speaker 2: of those different elements that they've added to the offense.
• 9:08
Speaker 1: Dating back to LA when they played the Chargers.
• 9:11
Speaker 2: I think they're starting to turn the corner there a
• 9:13
Speaker 2: little bit from an offensive standpoint, and that's what you
• 9:15
  Speaker 2: want to see.
• 9:16
Speaker 1: So there you have it.
• 9:18
Speaker 2: That's sort of my briefing here as kickoff fast approaches.
• 9:21
