Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, welcome to Inside the Tape with Greg Cosell
- 0:12Speaker 1: on Inside the Birds. I'm Jeff Mosher with Adam Kaplan,
- 0:15Speaker 1: and of course we've got Greg Cosell to break down
- 0:18Speaker 1: the tape of the Eagles last game offense and defense.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Of course, the Eagles lose again, Greg, they lose twenty
- 0:25Speaker 1: two to nineteen to.
- 0:26Speaker 2: The Chargers in over time.
- 0:28Speaker 1: We're gonna start with the offense in part one here.
- 0:31Speaker 1: And saw some different things, some I guess interesting things offensively,
- 0:36Speaker 1: But when you watch the tape, what really jumped out
- 0:38Speaker 1: to you about the Eagles offense, which again I think
- 0:40Speaker 1: for now the fifth straight game of twenty three or
- 0:44Speaker 1: fewer points.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but it finally looked like an NFL passing game.
- 0:48Speaker 3: There were a lot of really diverse concepts, things that
- 0:52Speaker 3: you know, I see with that team's run in the
- 0:54Speaker 3: league that the Eagles have not really run this year.
- 0:58Speaker 3: They did a lot of different things. They had, you know,
- 1:01Speaker 3: four strong concepts, they had flood concepts, they had concepts,
- 1:05Speaker 3: they had concepts that present to find reids and throws
- 1:08Speaker 3: for the quarterback. I actually thought it was the best
- 1:12Speaker 3: game of the season in terms of what they did
- 1:15Speaker 3: in the past game from from a concept standpoint.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Greg, I thought, watching it, I know you can't excuse
- 1:21Speaker 4: five turnovers if there's just no coach would accept that.
- 1:24Speaker 4: But there's sometimes when it hurts us throw on the balls,
- 1:27Speaker 4: like wow, that's a really good throw. But again it's
- 1:30Speaker 4: hard to get around. Okay, look at all the turnovers.
- 1:32Speaker 4: So overall you like the concepts, what do you think, Yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 4: what do you think of the play of the quarterback
- 1:36Speaker 4: in the game?
- 1:37Speaker 3: Overall? You know, it's easy after the fact, because the
- 1:40Speaker 3: four turnovers to say he played poorly, And I think
- 1:43Speaker 3: we accept that he'll miss a few things, just that
- 1:46Speaker 3: he doesn't throw it. You know, that's just who he is,
- 1:49Speaker 3: that that part of who he is will not change
- 1:51Speaker 3: at this point in his career. So if you accept that,
- 1:54Speaker 3: you know you live with it. But I thought, for
- 1:56Speaker 3: the most part, and this might sound strange, and we
- 1:58Speaker 3: can certainly go over the turn overs because each turnover
- 2:01Speaker 3: has to be looked at as a separate play, not
- 2:03Speaker 3: as a number on a page, I actually did not
- 2:07Speaker 3: think he played badly. It's easy to say. You know,
- 2:10Speaker 3: people listening might think, what are you out of your mind?
- 2:12Speaker 3: But you know it's easy. It wouldn't be the first
- 2:15Speaker 3: time I'm told that either.
- 2:16Speaker 5: Obviously, guys, as you well know, but you know, and
- 2:21Speaker 5: it's easy after the fact to say that, But you know,
- 2:25Speaker 5: I thought, I mean, I thought the twenty eight yard
- 2:27Speaker 5: throw he made the Smith and overtime was his best
- 2:29Speaker 5: throw of the season. Yes, So you know, again, most
- 2:35Speaker 5: pass games, when you watch a pass game that's good,
- 2:38Speaker 5: it's a combination of the concepts and the quarterback executing
- 2:42Speaker 5: the concepts. You know, we tend to look at, oh,
- 2:44Speaker 5: the quarterback played great if.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You know, if he completes balls. But a lot of
- 2:49Speaker 3: times those balls are completed because the concepts present clean,
- 2:52Speaker 3: defined throws that just about any NFL quarterback theoretically could make,
- 2:58Speaker 3: you know, So there's always some plays where you go, wow,
- 3:01Speaker 3: that's a great throw, you know, no matter who it is,
- 3:03Speaker 3: whether it's you know, the guys we think of as great,
- 3:06Speaker 3: the Mahomes, the Allens, the Burrows, but you know, there's
- 3:08Speaker 3: a lot of times, you know, where it's defined for
- 3:11Speaker 3: the quarterback and pretty much any NFL quarterback could make
- 3:14Speaker 3: those throws. So it's always a combination of the past
- 3:17Speaker 3: game concepts and the quarterback and in this game because
- 3:20Speaker 3: there were past game concepts that were really NFL concepts.
- 3:24Speaker 3: You know, Hurts made some throws there, there were plenty
- 3:26Speaker 3: of them. I mean, you know, I detail them. You know,
- 3:29Speaker 3: it took me so long to watch the offense for
- 3:32Speaker 3: that reason because I wanted to detail them for you guys.
- 3:34Speaker 3: You know, I didn't expect to take three and a
- 3:36Speaker 3: half hours just to watch the offensive side of the ball.
- 3:38Speaker 3: But you know, I kept watching it and thinking, Okay,
- 3:41Speaker 3: this is this is a pass game, you know, And
- 3:45Speaker 3: like I said, you live with the fact that he's
- 3:46Speaker 3: going to miss some that's just who he is, you know.
- 3:49Speaker 3: But it was there. You know, there were good things
- 3:53Speaker 3: here going on in the pass game.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So I guess the question most people would have is
- 3:58Speaker 1: and and this is there's an opinion from you that
- 4:01Speaker 1: we're asking for. An analytical one is when you add
- 4:05Speaker 1: more and you look like an NFL passing offense conceptually,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and you try to do these things that you haven't done,
- 4:12Speaker 1: and you only score nineteen points and you turn the
- 4:14Speaker 1: ball over five times and you're picked all the times, right,
- 4:17Speaker 1: what my point is, is there something to grow on
- 4:20Speaker 1: or is this what you're going to get though?
- 4:22Speaker 2: If you try to do that well.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I mean, look, the five turnovers, it's really four. We
- 4:26Speaker 3: know the fifth one happened on the double turnover play, correct,
- 4:29Speaker 3: But I mean, don't the turnovers obviously prevent you I
- 4:33Speaker 3: mean the interception by hand just game just outside the
- 4:37Speaker 3: red zone, so you know, to hear there theoretically going
- 4:40Speaker 3: into score. Who knows what would have happened if you know,
- 4:43Speaker 3: if that didn't happen. We don't know the answer to
- 4:45Speaker 3: that question. You know, we'll never know. But yeah, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 3: obviously people are going to look at the interceptions and
- 4:52Speaker 3: they're going to look at the fact that they scored
- 4:54Speaker 3: nineteen points and think, oh my god, there's another terrible
- 4:56Speaker 3: day for the offense and see it that way. Watching
- 5:01Speaker 3: the tape at all, I thought they were good things. Look,
- 5:04Speaker 3: I don't think they want him to drop back more
- 5:06Speaker 3: than forty times. I guess he was twenty one for
- 5:08Speaker 3: forty in the game, which is obviously not a high percentage.
- 5:11Speaker 3: But but you know, I don't want to keep repeating myself,
- 5:15Speaker 3: but I just thought you asked a great question. I
- 5:17Speaker 3: think there's something to grow on now, you know, I
- 5:19Speaker 3: don't know. Look, we read a lot this week about
- 5:21Speaker 3: Nick Siriani getting more involved. I don't know if this
- 5:23Speaker 3: had to do with him being involved. You know, none
- 5:25Speaker 3: of us know the answer to that. We're not in
- 5:26Speaker 3: the building, were not on in the meetings. But this
- 5:28Speaker 3: is what the tape showed, you know, And Jeff, as
- 5:31Speaker 3: I started seeing it, I was like, wow, this is
- 5:33Speaker 3: there's some good stuff here.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I understand, Jeff bab It's not like that had a
- 5:37Speaker 4: lot of penalties, but the timeliness of it was terrible. Okay,
- 5:40Speaker 4: he had drop passes. That counts, it hurts. Did he
- 5:43Speaker 4: have a great game? No, maybe uneven, But you saw
- 5:46Speaker 4: a lot of good made some really really good throws.
- 5:49Speaker 4: And it's people want talk show answers. They want he
- 5:53Speaker 4: was terrible, he was great. There's no context to anything.
- 5:56Speaker 4: They don't want anything. They don't want to. Some people
- 5:58Speaker 4: just don't want to learn the game, right, they probably
- 5:59Speaker 4: won't watching this.
- 6:00Speaker 3: They want to.
- 6:01Speaker 6: They're gonna turn the ready on no fence to talk.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Ready.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I understand when you host before our show, you played
- 6:05Speaker 4: what's in social media.
- 6:06Speaker 6: We don't do that here. We never have it, never
- 6:07Speaker 6: will we want to.
- 6:09Speaker 4: When you want to give you here are the facts,
- 6:10Speaker 4: you could take them to the way you want, but
- 6:12Speaker 4: the ass facts, this is actually what happened.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Sure, So you know, Greg Adam and I made this
- 6:19Speaker 1: point in the post game show, and I think this
- 6:21Speaker 1: this game is an example of it. Jillen Hurts has
- 6:23Speaker 1: a tendency to make the really difficult look routine and
- 6:27Speaker 1: the really routine look difficult.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean, like you said, he.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Made some beautiful throws and then the one that aj
- 6:33Speaker 1: Brown couldn't catch in the end zone was vintage put
- 6:36Speaker 1: it right and it was.
- 6:37Speaker 3: A great throw. And I watched that, you know, really carefully,
- 6:39Speaker 3: and I mean the corner. I forget who the corner was.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I think I put in my notes. You know, uh,
- 6:44Speaker 3: I think it was Cam Hart. It was Cam Hard
- 6:46Speaker 3: you know, he just he dropped, you know, Hurts Brown's
- 6:49Speaker 3: inside arm down. You know, it's easy to say should
- 6:51Speaker 3: have caught it. That that's a tough deal. I mean,
- 6:53Speaker 3: I agree it was good to I've not been in
- 6:55Speaker 3: that situation, so I can't speak to that, you know,
- 6:57Speaker 3: as a receiver. So but I mean he yan because
- 7:00Speaker 3: his right arm down, so he you know, it became difficult.
- 7:03Speaker 3: You know. Look, you know, I don't know what you
- 7:07Speaker 3: plan on showing. You know, I don't know if we're
- 7:08Speaker 3: going to go over any of the interceptions. We certainly
- 7:10Speaker 3: can go over them, you know, as real four of them.
- 7:13Speaker 3: But you know that, like I said, it's easy to sail.
- 7:16Speaker 3: We threw four picks. It's a bad game, and you know,
- 7:20Speaker 3: but there's a context all those.
- 7:23Speaker 1: What did you think of the run game, Greg? I
- 7:25Speaker 1: think that me personally. You know, if you get if
- 7:27Speaker 1: you take the fifty three yards which sort of came
- 7:29Speaker 1: on a trick play, yeah, it becomes about a three
- 7:32Speaker 1: point seven yards per carry average.
- 7:34Speaker 2: It's not that's that's it was.
- 7:36Speaker 3: It was really good in the first half, I thought.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And look, they started a drive, you know, nineteen yards
- 7:43Speaker 3: to start the second position, followed by a ten yard run.
- 7:46Speaker 3: And by the way, they were the same base runs
- 7:49Speaker 3: they always run. I know, people say, well, they should
- 7:50Speaker 3: be doing other things. I mean the nineteen yard it
- 7:53Speaker 3: was split flow inside zone with Barkley the iback you know,
- 7:58Speaker 3: meaning that Hurts was under center. And the ten yard
- 8:00Speaker 3: run on the very next play was another iback run.
- 8:03Speaker 3: It was just mid zone into the boundary. I mean
- 8:06Speaker 3: it was you know, these were just normal runs that
- 8:08Speaker 3: they run all the time, and this time they happened
- 8:10Speaker 3: to block them pretty well and they ended up being
- 8:12Speaker 3: good games. But I thought on the first half the
- 8:14Speaker 3: run game was was solid. Now in the second half,
- 8:17Speaker 3: they didn't run it anywhere near as much. You know,
- 8:20Speaker 3: it seemed to me because I'm watching now, you know,
- 8:22Speaker 3: finishing up the Chargers offense that you know, it seemed
- 8:27Speaker 3: to me the Chargers had the ball a lot in
- 8:28Speaker 3: the second half and he didn't. Yeah, maybe that's the reason,
- 8:32Speaker 3: because you know, when when when the game starts to
- 8:35Speaker 3: feel like there's not a lot of possessions, sometimes it's
- 8:39Speaker 3: hard to stay with the run game right, and that is.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Going to be the difficulty I think that even people
- 8:43Speaker 1: listening to the show we'll have to pass through is
- 8:46Speaker 1: that despite some of the improvements, despite liking what you saw,
- 8:50Speaker 1: the end result was still low scoring, still bad on
- 8:53Speaker 1: still bad on third down right thirteen. Now you've got
- 8:58Speaker 1: another a third straight game with turnovers. So it feels
- 9:01Speaker 1: like a one step forward almost two step backwards.
- 9:04Speaker 3: No question.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Ought if all they were were five percent better on offense,
- 9:07Speaker 1: they would be a lot better.
- 9:09Speaker 3: What's funny you say that because I was finished watching
- 9:11Speaker 3: the offense, you know, I thought to myself Okay. All
- 9:14Speaker 3: I can do is tell you what I believe the
- 9:18Speaker 3: tape shows. And it's not an opinion. This is what
- 9:21Speaker 3: the tape shows. And I know that people are going
- 9:23Speaker 3: to think that, oh, you're you're crazy. You know, four
- 9:26Speaker 3: turnovers they lost. They didn't even score twenty points again,
- 9:28Speaker 3: which I think is what three three of the last
- 9:30Speaker 3: four games, if I'm not mistaken, and you know, people
- 9:33Speaker 3: are just going to assume, you know, the offense was
- 9:35Speaker 3: bad again. It hurts is terrible. And believe me, we've
- 9:37Speaker 3: talked about hurts. You know, I've been with you guys
- 9:39Speaker 3: for years. I've talked about hurts, you know, because I
- 9:41Speaker 3: tell you what I see. And there's no question in
- 9:44Speaker 3: certain areas he's not anywhere near the top of the league.
- 9:47Speaker 3: He's you know, he's not. There's certain things he just
- 9:49Speaker 3: cannot do well and he had and that's not likely
- 9:52Speaker 3: to change at this point in his career. But you know,
- 9:55Speaker 3: when I see good stuff and you know, you got
- 9:58Speaker 3: to say it, I mean, it's it's it what it is.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and tell them, Adam, this is what this is
- 10:03Speaker 1: where I think what sets our show apart not to
- 10:06Speaker 1: make this a big you know, put ourselves on the back.
- 10:08Speaker 1: But for Greg, who gets a lot of criticism from
- 10:11Speaker 1: our followers for criticizing Hurts in wins, right, those people
- 10:15Speaker 1: should appreciate that. In a loss on a day where
- 10:18Speaker 1: the entire Delaware Valley you got people asking for Tanner McKee,
- 10:22Speaker 1: they are dumping on Jail Ebert because it's so easy
- 10:25Speaker 1: when you turn the ball over five times, right to
- 10:27Speaker 1: do that. Greg can point out and say, hey, it's
- 10:30Speaker 1: not as bad as you all think it is, and
- 10:32Speaker 1: the tape actually shows some advancement both with the quarterback
- 10:35Speaker 1: and the play caller.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Right, So you know, the play calling is one of
- 10:39Speaker 3: those terms. Not not to knock you, Jeff, but it's
- 10:42Speaker 3: me it's more the concepts the play calling is.
- 10:44Speaker 2: That's you know, play design.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean we're saying the same thing basically.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm just Parson, can you really quickly before
- 10:52Speaker 1: we get into because I want you to educate the
- 10:54Speaker 1: people on some of the concepts that you saw that
- 10:58Speaker 1: you say are more NFL pass like the strong in
- 11:00Speaker 1: the flood concepts, what you saw from the Eagles and
- 11:03Speaker 1: how that worked.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah, well, what just just as a quick primer, what
- 11:07Speaker 3: you're trying to do when you call plays for the
- 11:09Speaker 3: most part, especially if you're going to get zone. And
- 11:13Speaker 3: by the way, the Chargers are a heavy heavy zone team,
- 11:16Speaker 3: so they know that going in. They play the second
- 11:18Speaker 3: lowest percentage going into this game of Cover one in
- 11:21Speaker 3: the NFL. So you know you're getting zoned. So what
- 11:23Speaker 3: are you trying to do when you play zone? You're
- 11:25Speaker 3: trying to create concepts with spacing. It creates space. You're
- 11:29Speaker 3: trying to hit conflict areas for defenders who have to play,
- 11:33Speaker 3: you know, in an area, and therefore it presents a defined,
- 11:37Speaker 3: clear read for the quarterback. You know, when he hits
- 11:39Speaker 3: his back foot, you know he's pretty much knows where
- 11:42Speaker 3: to go with the football. They did that well in
- 11:45Speaker 3: this game. They had four strong concepts. Four strong means
- 11:48Speaker 3: that there's four players four routes to one side of
- 11:51Speaker 3: the field, which overloads a zone. They don't have enough
- 11:54Speaker 3: people to cover four routes in a zone. Concept to
- 11:57Speaker 3: one side of the field a major concept against Zona's flood.
- 12:02Speaker 3: It's a three level concept. There's a deep, there's an intermediate,
- 12:06Speaker 3: and there's a short route. It's very difficult to cover
- 12:09Speaker 3: and you know if you're playing Cover three or Cover four,
- 12:12Speaker 3: So the Eagles did a good job with these kinds
- 12:14Speaker 3: of things to present clean, defined reads for Jalen Hurts,
- 12:18Speaker 3: and there were times he clearly took advantage of them
- 12:20Speaker 3: and they they made plays. I mean that twenty eight
- 12:24Speaker 3: yarder we spoke about, you know, that came against cover two.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Now I don't know if they anticipated cover two. They
- 12:29Speaker 3: hadn't gotten a lot of it, but they actually had
- 12:32Speaker 3: a really nice route concept. It was a high low
- 12:35Speaker 3: to the side that they threw it, but on the
- 12:37Speaker 3: backside because they ended up getting cover two, they ended
- 12:40Speaker 3: up taking dots and I believe it was and he
- 12:43Speaker 3: ran essentially vertically right at the middle hole defender who
- 12:47Speaker 3: would open to his side so he couldn't then get
- 12:50Speaker 3: in the way of the of the inbreaker by Smith.
- 12:54Speaker 3: And you know, I'm sure Jalen saw all that because
- 12:57Speaker 3: it's right in front of him, and he threw that
- 12:59Speaker 3: ball with great timing in anticipation and put it right
- 13:01Speaker 3: on Smith. You know. So that's what you try to do.
- 13:05Speaker 3: You try to create space. Think of it this way.
- 13:09Speaker 3: In zone coverage, they're trying to minimize space as an offense.
- 13:12Speaker 3: With your round concepts, you're trying to expand space. If
- 13:15Speaker 3: you really want to think of it in simple terms.
- 13:17Speaker 4: And Jeff, there were guys, there were some there are
- 13:23Speaker 4: throws inside the numbers. You went tight windows always, it
- 13:26Speaker 4: was always a term. But there were some throws inside
- 13:28Speaker 4: the numbers, which you know his historically hurts doesn't do
- 13:30Speaker 4: a lot, but there were here and I know some cancer.
- 13:32Speaker 4: See what happens when you throw it inside he throws
- 13:34Speaker 4: a pick. It's not that easy, folks. It's it's fans
- 13:37Speaker 4: like to make broad statements because they really don't know.
- 13:39Speaker 4: They're not watching tape. They're just say they saw on
- 13:41Speaker 4: TV Bathrow, why do you do that? That's that's what
- 13:43Speaker 4: we're here for. We're going to separate fact from fiction.
- 13:46Speaker 3: And right now, no, I'm just gonna say, you know,
- 13:49Speaker 3: and I don't know what you're going to show, Jeff,
- 13:50Speaker 3: but I mean, you know, and people listening to this,
- 13:53Speaker 3: I guarantee it, they're just going to say, oh, you're
- 13:55Speaker 3: you're crazy. You know, he threw four interceptions. But you know,
- 13:59Speaker 3: that's that's irrel. I don't want to say it's irrelevant,
- 14:02Speaker 3: but it's not what the game showed on tape.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Right Plus, he's not going to do that every week.
- 14:07Speaker 1: No, No, you know, I said the same thing when
- 14:10Speaker 1: the when the when the Rams lost the Panthers two
- 14:12Speaker 1: weeks ago and Stafford threw two picks and got a
- 14:15Speaker 1: strip sack vice. I said, you know what, they only
- 14:17Speaker 1: lost the game, I think by by three or so.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I said, the Rams are fine. They just have one
- 14:21Speaker 1: of those games. And they did something they very rarely do,
- 14:24Speaker 1: was this freceptions since the Eagles game.
- 14:26Speaker 3: And then they went, well, it's funny because I started
- 14:28Speaker 3: thinking ridiculous because ches that people say, because remember mentioning
- 14:32Speaker 3: the Rams. And then we'll get to the plays when
- 14:34Speaker 3: when they blocked the field goal, remember and they won
- 14:36Speaker 3: the game, which they would have lost the game if
- 14:38Speaker 3: that kick was good. And then people said, well, they
- 14:40Speaker 3: just know how to win. And then I'm you know,
- 14:42Speaker 3: thinking about this game last night when Dicker makes the
- 14:44Speaker 3: field goal to tie it late and then you know,
- 14:46Speaker 3: makes it over an overtime, and I'm thinking, well, I
- 14:49Speaker 3: guess they didn't know how to win last night, but
- 14:51Speaker 3: they knew how to win against the You know, people

- 18:06Speaker 1: bit greg as far as what we're gonna look on video,
- 18:09Speaker 1: because the first play, I think is one of those
- 18:11Speaker 1: concepts that you're referring to.
- 18:12Speaker 2: This is gonna be sixteen yards to God Dallas Goddter and.
- 18:17Speaker 1: It's an interesting I think this is one of two
- 18:20Speaker 1: pony personnel formations that Egles may.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I can't tell.
- 18:22Speaker 6: I can't see back plays. It was it was Shipley
- 18:25Speaker 6: and Barkley. I thought that was interesting.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's who that are. But either way,
- 18:32Speaker 1: I'll let you set it up Greg.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean this was one of the plays. And
- 18:36Speaker 3: you know, I forget where this I think this was.
- 18:39Speaker 3: It started their fourth possession. So this was a four
- 18:42Speaker 3: strong concept into the boundary, and you rarely see four
- 18:45Speaker 3: receivers work into the boundary, but they attacked all three
- 18:49Speaker 3: levels of the defense. They actually came back to this
- 18:51Speaker 3: same concept later and this was one play where later
- 18:56Speaker 3: one Smith was possibly open on the post. Houston obviously,
- 19:01Speaker 3: uh Jalen didn't throw it. But the one thing you
- 19:04Speaker 3: don't know is what his read is. That's the thing
- 19:06Speaker 3: that you often don't know when you you know these
- 19:08Speaker 3: plays are put in. But anyway, if you can run this,
- 19:11Speaker 3: it's essentially you're going to see that it's it's going
- 19:16Speaker 3: to be four routes that go into the boundary.
- 19:20Speaker 2: So route number one is what well.
- 19:23Speaker 3: You see you see a vertical a post down below,
- 19:27Speaker 3: which is clearly not open. Then you see the crosser,
- 19:31Speaker 3: you know, the dig ball from the backside. Then you
- 19:34Speaker 3: see the back who's basically running a wheel, and then
- 19:39Speaker 3: you see Goddard, who is probably running a shallow but
- 19:43Speaker 3: depending on how the routes play out, he decides if
- 19:46Speaker 3: he keeps going or if he stops. I guess is
- 19:48Speaker 3: that's probably you know, a little bit of an option
- 19:51Speaker 3: element to it, based on how it plays out. But
- 19:53Speaker 3: you can see there's four routes that are in the
- 19:55Speaker 3: boundary there. It's hard to cover, you know. I mean again,
- 20:00Speaker 3: this was the first place, so even if it gains
- 20:02Speaker 3: eight yards, you're happy with it. You know it's first intent.
- 20:05Speaker 3: But it turns out he throws it to god hear
- 20:07Speaker 3: now the way this played out, he's essentially if you
- 20:11Speaker 3: go back just a little bit, Jeff, the way this
- 20:13Speaker 3: played out, it becomes a high low on the defender
- 20:17Speaker 3: that's right behind God her like he's probably not comfortable.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Maybe again, I don't know what's in Jalen's head, but
- 20:25Speaker 3: the cross or that's behind you know that, you know
- 20:28Speaker 3: it's first down. You don't have to try to force this,
- 20:31Speaker 3: so you throw it to Goddard. And it you know,
- 20:33Speaker 3: it's a pitch and catch throw. And then Godard makes
- 20:36Speaker 3: him miss and he goes for sixteen yards.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yep.
- 20:39Speaker 1: And that's another advantage of having more guys on one
- 20:42Speaker 1: side of the field. You make someone miss, it's tougher
- 20:44Speaker 1: to get guys to the ball because they're spread out
- 20:46Speaker 1: all over the place.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Yeah. So, I mean, you know, just like this is
- 20:50Speaker 3: just good stuff, and it just becomes what you're trying
- 20:54Speaker 3: to do. It becomes a pitch and catch.
- 20:56Speaker 6: Throw, right, find it for him and get it out
- 20:59Speaker 6: of Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Now the next the next play, But the next play
- 21:03Speaker 3: was bround twenty two yards. It was another four strong concept.
- 21:06Speaker 3: It was really good.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna get to that in a second.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Just watch this one more time and right, and when
- 21:15Speaker 1: you watch the master, you see how how effective it is.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Now he's still, he's still. I know it's a sort
- 21:20Speaker 4: of a routine pass. But here's the thing with Hurts.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Just be decisive. That's all you need.
- 21:25Speaker 3: That's what you want to That's what you're hoping your
- 21:27Speaker 3: quarterback can be. You're hoping that your concepts can make
- 21:29Speaker 3: the quarterback hit his back foot and be decisive, get
- 21:32Speaker 3: it out of he's going with the ball. Now is
- 21:34Speaker 3: this the next play?
- 21:35Speaker 2: This would be the very next play.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yep. So basically, what you're gonna have here is double
- 21:39Speaker 3: post with a backside dig and a lot to working
- 21:43Speaker 3: into the into the flat. So again you're dealing with
- 21:46Speaker 3: four routes to one side of the field. You're gonna
- 21:48Speaker 3: see it double posts down below, a lot two works
- 21:51Speaker 3: through the line of scrimmage into the flat, and you
- 21:54Speaker 3: get the backside dig by Brown right here.
- 21:57Speaker 2: You've got four guys on one side of the Yeah, yep.
- 21:59Speaker 3: So now basically you've got the two defenders that have
- 22:05Speaker 3: to deal with the double posts. You can't just let
- 22:06Speaker 3: a guy run over the top without dealing with it.
- 22:08Speaker 3: And now because a lot to, you've got two guys
- 22:12Speaker 3: that have eyes that get eyes on a lot too
- 22:13Speaker 3: because you know it's first down again. So now you
- 22:17Speaker 3: get Brown coming across, and those two guys that are
- 22:19Speaker 3: eyes on a lot to, they don't. They're not. Brown
- 22:21Speaker 3: is not their guy. I mean he's coming from the
- 22:24Speaker 3: other side of the field, so their eyes are not
- 22:26Speaker 3: on him. So again just and again, notice he's under
- 22:29Speaker 3: center here and it's underaction.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Well under center. Little they did it.
- 22:34Speaker 1: They did they had they had a top as like
- 22:36Speaker 1: ten yards per play from under center.
- 22:37Speaker 6: And look at the rhythm and hurts in that throw.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yeah, So I mean that's what you're trying to do.
- 22:41Speaker 3: You're trying to create that ad and that's a great point,
- 22:44Speaker 3: you know, at the back foot, so he hits his
- 22:46Speaker 3: back foot, boom, you see it and you and you
- 22:50Speaker 3: throw it. I mean, it's you know, and the way
- 22:53Speaker 3: these are taught is you know when you when you
- 22:55Speaker 3: turn your back to the defense and you get your
- 22:57Speaker 3: head around, you're basically telling your quarterback to just focus
- 23:00Speaker 3: on one. You can't focus on five things at that point,
- 23:03Speaker 3: so you're really focusing on on one thing. You know,
- 23:06Speaker 3: you're and you're counting on the vertical routes to eat
- 23:09Speaker 3: up the you know, the corner and the safety. So
- 23:11Speaker 3: you're basically looking at those underneath offenders to see if
- 23:14Speaker 3: they have depth or if they're sitting low. If they're
- 23:16Speaker 3: sitting low, you're throwing it to Brown. If they for
- 23:19Speaker 3: some reason got unbelievable depth, which is the reason you
- 23:22Speaker 3: do play action. You don't want them to get depth
- 23:24Speaker 3: because you know, because your ideally that play ideally is
- 23:28Speaker 3: designed for a j.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Brown right, so you said later in the game they
- 23:32Speaker 1: went back to this concept, it was a little bit different.
- 23:35Speaker 1: This would be the catch that Darius Cooper makes.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Right, and this was the play where again, because I
- 23:42Speaker 3: don't know how he's taught to read this, you certainly
- 23:45Speaker 3: can make the argument as you run this that DeVonta
- 23:48Speaker 3: Smith up top that the ball could theoretically be thrown there.
- 23:51Speaker 3: But again, you know, it's easy to say that, you know.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And yeah, because of the safety to that side, sitting
- 23:57Speaker 3: on Brown, you know, you could easily say that, hey,
- 24:02Speaker 3: could he thrown it over the top? Yeah, you know, sure,
- 24:07Speaker 3: But I don't know, you know, when this play is called,
- 24:10Speaker 3: I don't know what they tell him as far as hey,
- 24:12Speaker 3: how you reading this? And who do we want you
- 24:15Speaker 3: to throw it to? Because don't forget, the last time
- 24:17Speaker 3: they ran this, the post wasn't even viable at all, right,
- 24:21Speaker 3: so you know, he they may have called this with
- 24:23Speaker 3: the idea that the post is not going to be viable,
- 24:26Speaker 3: you know, because you can't come to the post late.
- 24:29Speaker 3: You either have to you know, you can't work short
- 24:33Speaker 3: to deep, you're working deep to sure. So if he's
- 24:36Speaker 3: not thinking deep when he turns his head, then it's
- 24:40Speaker 3: gone because you can't throw that late.
- 24:42Speaker 2: It does look like he is looking at it. I
- 24:44Speaker 2: mean again, he.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Could have been. He could have been, you know, I
- 24:47Speaker 3: don't know the antle left.
- 24:48Speaker 6: I mean yeah, so.
- 24:50Speaker 1: If he works back, should he probably then hd Gottard here,
- 24:53Speaker 1: who's wide open at thirty.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yeah, you would think then he'd throw it to Goddard.
- 24:57Speaker 3: But you know, and maybe he is. It's very possible
- 25:01Speaker 3: that he was looking at Smith and for some reason
- 25:03Speaker 3: it just didn't register and he didn't pull the trigger.
- 25:06Speaker 3: And once that happens, he starts to you know, feel
- 25:08Speaker 3: squeezed a little bit, and then he leaves the pocket
- 25:11Speaker 3: and ultimately comes back and hits Cooper.
- 25:13Speaker 2: It's what happened, right.
- 25:16Speaker 1: It looks like he's trying to load right now, but
- 25:18Speaker 1: there's a little bit toucher from a from maybe hand
- 25:21Speaker 1: or someone maybe.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yeah, look at his back. He can't. He can't.
- 25:27Speaker 1: He can't better I think that. Yeah, yeah, he probably
- 25:33Speaker 1: should have delivered now, but he waited a little bit
- 25:36Speaker 1: and then the opportunity.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Yeah. So I mean again, you know, is it very possible,
- 25:43Speaker 3: Sure it is, but you don't know.
- 25:46Speaker 1: So he makes his second reaction play pretty decent throw
- 25:49Speaker 1: on the run there, Cooper.
- 25:51Speaker 3: I mean, given what he did, it became a good play, right.
- 25:55Speaker 1: So those were all the concepts we were kind of
- 25:57Speaker 1: talking about. Overloading the flood concepts put guys on this
- 26:00Speaker 1: side of the field.
- 26:01Speaker 3: He didn't have a beautiful three level stretch to Brown
- 26:03Speaker 3: as well in the game. I'm trying to remember where
- 26:06Speaker 3: that was, but yeah, there was a really good one there.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Oh that was twenty six yards on the first play
- 26:12Speaker 3: the third quarter, that team of conventional play action again
- 26:15Speaker 3: meeting under center, flood concept of Smith motion across the formation,
- 26:19Speaker 3: Brown from the slot, off the motion, Randy intermediate outcut.
- 26:22Speaker 3: They got covered three from the Chargers. So it's really
- 26:25Speaker 3: easily defined. I mean, they did some good things in
- 26:27Speaker 3: the past game.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Yeah, let's look at some things that they'd probably like
- 26:31Speaker 1: to have back.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Now, this is early.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I think this first possession where it's going to end
- 26:36Speaker 1: in Hurt's getting sacked by Penn Stator a dafe away.
- 26:43Speaker 2: This is this just mylotta getting driven back. And yeah, I.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Mean her Trump felt that on the back side, and
- 26:51Speaker 3: I don't think there's a clean throw that he could
- 26:53Speaker 3: have made here.
- 26:54Speaker 1: That's what I was going to ask you if by
- 26:55Speaker 1: the way spread spread empty early here, that seemed to
- 26:58Speaker 1: be a common formation.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Or whatever the games.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought even more so this game than even
- 27:05Speaker 1: the past few, Greg, did you notice more spread empty
- 27:09Speaker 1: this game?
- 27:10Speaker 3: There was some spread stuff for sure in this game. Absolutely, yeah, absolutely.
- 27:14Speaker 1: In the past they've been doing it to run the
- 27:16Speaker 1: QB keeper, but here I felt like they did it
- 27:18Speaker 1: to incorporate as part of their past.
- 27:20Speaker 3: So funny they did it to run the ball once
- 27:22Speaker 3: and you know which everybody's saying was spread and run
- 27:24Speaker 3: it in. They gained three yards. I mean, you know
- 27:25Speaker 3: it doesn't automatically work.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Right, but yeah, yeah, this was tough. I don't know
- 27:31Speaker 2: if I know. There's been some crimes.
- 27:32Speaker 3: He had fifteen he had fifteen dropbacks and empty.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Right, Wow, that's yeah, it's gotta be the most wow.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:41Speaker 1: So there's been some criticism of the way the footwork
- 27:44Speaker 1: and the timing and the route patterns have been this year.
- 27:47Speaker 1: It doesn't look like there's too many, too many guys
- 27:49Speaker 1: to hit or even lead open. And then my lot,
- 27:54Speaker 1: my lot of just hasn't had a great year, Greg,
- 27:56Speaker 1: was is that fair to say it?
- 27:57Speaker 3: Just it's absolutely fair to say he has.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Not Yeah, I don't.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I don't know what's happened or what's I know. In
- 28:02Speaker 1: the in in training camp, Adam and I talked about this.
- 28:05Speaker 1: He looked like he was grimacing at times, like something
- 28:08Speaker 1: was bothering him. But he hasn't been on an injury report.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I haven't seen that. He hasn't left the game, come
- 28:15Speaker 1: back in or anything like that. And away has not
- 28:18Speaker 1: been a guy who's been a great pass rusher in
- 28:19Speaker 1: this league.
- 28:20Speaker 6: And better here, though, way better here.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Yeah, A scheme change helped.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Didn't have a throw here, and he you know, he
- 28:27Speaker 3: started to move and he got you know.
- 28:29Speaker 6: He got sacked a lot of though. He just always
- 28:33Speaker 6: got under him. And that was it.
- 28:35Speaker 1: It was over right, let's let's go through. I didn't
- 28:38Speaker 1: take every interception. I wanted to go through the Dante
- 28:42Speaker 1: Jackson why. I think that was his second.
- 28:44Speaker 4: When Smitty, when Smitty got unfortunately he fell or whatever.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Yeah, is it just a case of him falling, Greg,
- 28:50Speaker 1: I want you to diagnose again.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I don't know how he's taught on this, but I
- 28:55Speaker 3: personally believe, you know, again, I could be dead wrong.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I personally you know that this it's essentially mirrored routes. Okay,
- 29:05Speaker 3: up top to the boundary, you've got basically an inbreaker
- 29:09Speaker 3: and a flat route, and down below you've got a
- 29:12Speaker 3: curl and what's essentially a flat route. And then you've
- 29:14Speaker 3: got Goddard running the sit route right in front of him.
- 29:17Speaker 3: This is in everybody's playbook. It's about as common as
- 29:20Speaker 3: it gets. To me, I believe that you should be
- 29:24Speaker 3: working to the boundary here, you know, and particularly like
- 29:29Speaker 3: he's he as soon as he takes a snap, he
- 29:31Speaker 3: takes a peek at the safety to the boundary side,
- 29:34Speaker 3: as soon as that safety takes a step back with
- 29:37Speaker 3: the off coverage corner on Brown. To me, this throw
- 29:40Speaker 3: should go to aj Brown.
- 29:42Speaker 6: That's exactly what I'm going to say.
- 29:43Speaker 3: That's where I believe. You know, normally, when you run
- 29:47Speaker 3: this kind of thing where you have you know, a
- 29:49Speaker 3: slam flat, an inbreaker flat, a curl flat, you work
- 29:53Speaker 3: to the boundary more often than not. And you know,
- 29:57Speaker 3: this becomes a little bit of a harder throw. And
- 30:01Speaker 3: you know, Jackson, they play a ton of z own,
- 30:03Speaker 3: so their corners are used to reading routes and reading
- 30:05Speaker 3: the quarterback because that's how they're taught. This is what
- 30:08Speaker 3: they play. So you know again, he threw this really early.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I think he predetermined that he was going to throw
- 30:15Speaker 3: it there. And I'm not in his head, and maybe
- 30:17Speaker 3: I'm wrong, but I personally think that this ball should
- 30:21Speaker 3: have been thrown to the boundary side.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I feel like the slant flat that we this concept
- 30:28Speaker 1: that we talk about a lot, is the sort of
- 30:30Speaker 1: his buggaboo. It's the one that he doesn't always throw
- 30:32Speaker 1: when it's there, common like the most frequent one that
- 30:35Speaker 1: I won't throw when it's there.
- 30:36Speaker 3: But yeah, you know, and like I said, I don't know.
- 30:40Speaker 3: You know, that's the way I've seen it so many
- 30:44Speaker 3: times through the years. That you work to the to
- 30:46Speaker 3: the boundary side, the two man side, you know, especially
- 30:50Speaker 3: when you get a clean coverage. You know, if if
- 30:53Speaker 3: that corner up top that's molded excuse me, the safety molden.
- 30:56Speaker 3: If his first steps forward, you're not You're not throwing
- 30:59Speaker 3: it there, because then he can he can jump in
- 31:01Speaker 3: and you know, plant and drive. But as soon as
- 31:03Speaker 3: he starts going, because you'll see if you could just
- 31:05Speaker 3: go back a little.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I was just trying to see where his eyes
- 31:07Speaker 1: were from this angle, and it just doesn't he doesn't look.
- 31:10Speaker 3: I think when he first takes a snap though, he
- 31:12Speaker 3: takes a peak. Maybe I'm wrong because you never you
- 31:15Speaker 3: can't see his eyes.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's tough to say. I mean his shoulder is square.
- 31:19Speaker 3: So but this is a very common, you know, mirrored
- 31:22Speaker 3: route concept with the sit round right in front of him. Yep, boy,
- 31:27Speaker 3: he had it.
- 31:28Speaker 4: If he looked, if he looked, he's got that because
- 31:31Speaker 4: it's not like he hadn't hit Brown on a slant
- 31:33Speaker 4: in that game, right right?
- 31:36Speaker 2: Oh well, and then we'll just uh last one.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Uh maybe just get an idea of what the Chargers
- 31:41Speaker 1: were doing on the the DeShawn hand.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh yeah, interesting, he's still he's been around
- 31:51Speaker 4: a long time.
- 31:52Speaker 3: He has been. When he came into high school in Tampa, Florida,
- 31:55Speaker 3: it was like the number three recruit in the entire country. Wow,
- 31:59Speaker 3: you know he's the number one recruit? Was that year
- 32:01Speaker 3: the year he came out cam Newton, I don't know,
- 32:05Speaker 3: Leonard four Nick?
- 32:06Speaker 1: Oh, how about that crazy first round?
- 32:11Speaker 3: So the hand again, this was you know, obviously huge
- 32:15Speaker 3: play because they're moving it's third and two. This was
- 32:18Speaker 3: a four man sim pressure concept from a zero presentation. Okay,
- 32:23Speaker 3: you can see pre snap there's no deep safety, there's
- 32:26Speaker 3: no middle of the field safety. It's a zero presentation.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Now what they do the fourth rusher becomes Henley. Now,
- 32:35Speaker 3: both Hand and Die showed initial pressure then dropped out,
- 32:38Speaker 3: and they drop out late. What I think happened is
- 32:41Speaker 3: Hurts saw Henley as a free hitter because you know,
- 32:45Speaker 3: there's no one to block them in the way they
- 32:47Speaker 3: protected and Brown ran what you know, a jerk route here,
- 32:51Speaker 3: you know, and so I think he felt like, oh, okay,
- 32:56Speaker 3: I'm going to have the jerk route. I've got you know,
- 32:57Speaker 3: my guy Brown, he's working inside. There's no one in
- 33:00Speaker 3: the middle of the field because it's a zero presentation.
- 33:03Speaker 3: If I hit him in stride, who knows, maybe scores
- 33:05Speaker 3: a touchdown. I don't think he accounted for Hand at all.
- 33:09Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't think he accounted for him.
- 33:12Speaker 3: You know, I'm not defending Hurts. It's a great defensive play,
- 33:15Speaker 3: and it's easy to argue after the fact that he
- 33:17Speaker 3: should be aware of it, and maybe he should be.
- 33:20Speaker 3: You know, I don't know what a coach is going
- 33:21Speaker 3: to say here. You know, we've seen this. These are
- 33:23Speaker 3: the toughest things for a quarterback and I've heard many
- 33:26Speaker 3: quarterbacks say that that when the defensive lineman drops out,
- 33:30Speaker 3: it's it's a bitch and it's just hard. And again,
- 33:33Speaker 3: no defense. I'm not defending Jalen Hurts, you know. But
- 33:36Speaker 3: the point is is it's it's hard. Yeah.
- 33:39Speaker 1: No, I mean we said it last week when the
- 33:41Speaker 1: Bear zeroed. I mean he said, there's it's a what
- 33:44Speaker 1: you got to put your back foot and throw if
- 33:45Speaker 1: you expect that.
- 33:47Speaker 3: He come based on the protection. He knew because he
- 33:50Speaker 3: he looked right at Henley initially, and he knew that
- 33:53Speaker 3: Henley was going to be clean. Look at the protection.
- 33:55Speaker 3: No one is responding to Henley, so he knew. He
- 33:58Speaker 3: didn't have time to read that, you know. And you
- 34:00Speaker 3: can sit here and say whatever you want about well,
- 34:02Speaker 3: he should have thrown it here. He should have thrown
- 34:04Speaker 3: it there. He's thinking right now, zero presentation, no one
- 34:07Speaker 3: in the middle of the field. That's a j Brown.
- 34:10Speaker 3: You know, that's my guy, and I'm throwing it to him.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I would say, Gregor, it wouldn't shock me because Jesse
- 34:17Speaker 1: Minter is really good. If he saw the way the
- 34:20Speaker 1: Bears zero blitzed him a couple of times and how
- 34:22Speaker 1: quick Jalen Hurts, you know, was look looked at his
- 34:24Speaker 1: target and thought, you know, I'm gonna zero blitz him too,
- 34:27Speaker 1: and throw in this little wrinkle of a lineman dropping
- 34:29Speaker 1: and see if we can figure it out.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:33Speaker 6: Good.
- 34:33Speaker 3: And I think the guy he saw because he was
- 34:36Speaker 3: looking over there, I think the guy he saw was
- 34:38Speaker 3: was was Die, and Die was further toward the line
- 34:41Speaker 3: of scrimmage and he was not going to be a
- 34:43Speaker 3: factor on the throw. I don't think he saw hand gotcha. Hey.

- 36:58Speaker 6: It's great stuff.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I mean maybe people leave this with a little more optimism.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Who knows about you know, if you can fix some
- 37:04Speaker 1: of the mistakes and not have turnovers and add keep
- 37:07Speaker 1: adding to this offense over the last year.
- 37:10Speaker 3: I want to mention that final interception too, because I
- 37:13Speaker 3: understood exactly why he threw the ball. Now you could
- 37:16Speaker 3: argue it's first down, there's two thirty five left in overtime.
- 37:19Speaker 3: They have both their timeouts. You know, after the fact,
- 37:23Speaker 3: you can sit here and say, well, he shouldn't have
- 37:25Speaker 3: done that, but they ran their staple play there inside
- 37:28Speaker 3: zone run and he was going to throw it to
- 37:30Speaker 3: got her in the flat okay, and the corner heart
- 37:33Speaker 3: basically squeezed Goddard. So the issue there was is that
- 37:38Speaker 3: it had his own relook and Mac played Hurts, not
- 37:41Speaker 3: the back. So you could argue, hey, he was you know,
- 37:45Speaker 3: under some pressure, or he was or he had a
- 37:47Speaker 3: rush a little and given that, he shouldn't have thrown
- 37:50Speaker 3: the ball. But I understand. See that's why I like
- 37:53Speaker 3: to look at interceptions and try to think about it
- 37:55Speaker 3: from the quarterbacks perspective. I understand why he threw it.
- 37:59Speaker 3: He didn't think that heart would be a factor at
- 38:01Speaker 3: all because in his mind, heart had squeezed on Godard.
- 38:05Speaker 6: He never saw right exactly.
- 38:07Speaker 3: It's not they never saw him. He knew he was there,
- 38:09Speaker 3: but he squeezed on Goddard.
- 38:10Speaker 6: You think he would do that, Yeah, And.
- 38:13Speaker 3: You know, and again, let's say he missed that by
- 38:15Speaker 3: an inch and it got to dots and we'd say,
- 38:18Speaker 3: what an unbelievable play. You know, but it hit his
- 38:21Speaker 3: hand and you know, and again, when balls go up
- 38:24Speaker 3: in the air, you know, you never know where they're
- 38:27Speaker 3: going to land either, you know, So you know, I
- 38:32Speaker 3: understand why he threw it. You know, because of what happened.
- 38:35Speaker 3: It's easy to say, what a stupid I mean I've
- 38:37Speaker 3: seen on social media. Oh, this is the dumbest throat
- 38:39Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts has ever made. You know, you got to
- 38:42Speaker 3: understand the play now again, I understand the situation, and
- 38:45Speaker 3: maybe given the situation, he shouldn't have thrown it. I
- 38:49Speaker 3: get that part of it. But based on just the
- 38:51Speaker 3: play itself as an abstraction, yes, I understand exactly why
- 38:55Speaker 3: he threw it. Great stuff.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Greatest stuff that is the Eagles offense wrapped up. In
- 39:00Speaker 1: part two, we'll look at the Eagles defense, a far
- 39:03Speaker 1: more interesting or at least far you know, better performance
- 39:06Speaker 1: than they had over the last few weeks. For Greg
- 39:08Speaker 1: Cosell and Adam Kaplan. I'm Jeff Mosher. You've been watching
