Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello everybody, and welcome back.
- 0:03Speaker 2: It is time for episode number three of the Ruffling
- 0:06Speaker 2: the Feathers podcast. Today we are gonna be talking about
- 0:10Speaker 2: the first football game of the year. Yes, ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:15Speaker 2: who cares that it's preseason.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It is football.
- 0:19Speaker 2: It is real men making contact with other men in
- 0:23Speaker 2: a physical.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Game of football.
- 0:27Speaker 2: And also in today's episode, we are gonna be talking
- 0:30Speaker 2: about the ceremony involving said football game, because it was
- 0:35Speaker 2: time to see some incredible people and one person who
- 0:41Speaker 2: I don't know, probably shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame,
- 0:43Speaker 2: but let's be real, he should be in the Hall
- 0:45Speaker 2: of Fame. Get inducted into the Hall of Fame. We're
- 0:49Speaker 2: gonna talk about some of the newest extensions and some
- 0:53Speaker 2: training camp updates as we are getting sept for the
- 0:55Speaker 2: first official week of the NFL preseason, and joining me
- 1:01Speaker 2: as always as my two co hosts, Brandon as Canta
- 1:05Speaker 2: and super Nova.
- 1:06Speaker 1: What's going on, gentlemen? How you doing this evening?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Oh, it's just another Sunday. We had some football. We
- 1:15Speaker 3: had it very very intriguing performance that we'll touch on
- 1:20Speaker 3: for that Hall of Fame game too. Uh, it's outside
- 1:24Speaker 3: of that preseason started and I am ready to see
- 1:28Speaker 3: some action.
- 1:30Speaker 4: That was a really good preseason gain. And I saw
- 1:32Speaker 4: it like it was actually better than I really gave
- 1:34Speaker 4: you credit for. You know, I was paying attention to
- 1:36Speaker 4: the prospects. I was paying attention to, like if they
- 1:38Speaker 4: could have, you know, a shot at the fifty three
- 1:40Speaker 4: men roster by the time the regular season happens, of
- 1:42Speaker 4: course you have the ceremonies as well, and then a
- 1:45Speaker 4: lot of news happening otherwise, God, let can this heat
- 1:49Speaker 4: wave just end here? Like it's payed like ninety to
- 1:52Speaker 4: one hundred degrees like consistently for the past month or so.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I mean, you want to talk about a heat wave.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I mean I'm in the South Nova, And the best
- 2:01Speaker 2: part is, uh, it has been ninety plus every day
- 2:04Speaker 2: for the last month and a half or so.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And guess what just decided to break today in my
- 2:11Speaker 1: house that eight c ah.
- 2:17Speaker 2: My air conditioning right now is reading seventy nine maybe
- 2:21Speaker 2: in US, And granted we set the temperature at seventy five,
- 2:24Speaker 2: which is already a problem in and of itself.
- 2:27Speaker 3: But diabolical.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I tried talking to two people who think that it's
- 2:32Speaker 2: cold at seventy five. But in all fairness, my late
- 2:34Speaker 2: grandmother was the same. She used to in the summer
- 2:37Speaker 2: sometimes she used to put the temperature at seventy eight
- 2:39Speaker 2: heat are Ye.
- 2:43Speaker 3: That has to be some animia there. Then you can
- 2:45Speaker 3: get that checked out.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 2:49Speaker 2: If you guys saw a picture of my dad, you'd
- 2:50Speaker 2: be like, that guy is freezing in Florida. He lived
- 2:54Speaker 2: in New York for forty plus years of his life.
- 2:56Speaker 2: How could he possibly be cold?
- 2:58Speaker 4: Well tight or that.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Or they live in the coastline, they're from the island,
- 3:02Speaker 2: so that probably could explain it as well. But at
- 3:05Speaker 2: the same time, he's also a Cowboys fan. They're always cold.
- 3:10Speaker 4: It's always that.
- 3:12Speaker 2: It's always the Cowboys fans. They're cold in January, they're cold.
- 3:17Speaker 2: In February, they're cold. In March, they're cold. In April,
- 3:22Speaker 2: they're cold when the draft happens. They get a little
- 3:25Speaker 2: warm in May and June, they go guns a blazing
- 3:30Speaker 2: hot in August, and then by October they are ice
- 3:35Speaker 2: cold yet again. But if you believe von Miller right now,
- 3:38Speaker 2: apparently Dak Prescott is gonna win the Lombardi Trophy this year.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Von Miller needs to be checked for CTE.
- 3:47Speaker 2: The fall from Grace on von Miller must be studied
- 3:51Speaker 2: after what he did with that Denver Broncos defense in
- 3:55Speaker 2: twenty fifteen, going to the Rams and the Bills, and
- 4:00Speaker 2: we've got some topics on the Bills to discuss later today, gentlemen.
- 4:05Speaker 2: But outside of that, I mean, it's hot. It's always hot,
- 4:10Speaker 2: and the best time to be hot is football season,
- 4:14Speaker 2: especially with all the seasons starting up now. High school's
- 4:18Speaker 2: coming back, college is coming back, NFL finally is back.
- 4:23Speaker 2: We just had that Hall of Fame game on Thursday night. Honestly,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I didn't even think that Hall of Fame game was
- 4:31Speaker 2: gonna be as interesting as it was going to be
- 4:34Speaker 2: between Carolina and Arizona because Arizona wasn't good last year
- 4:39Speaker 2: and Carolina won a division that nobody wanted to win,
- 4:44Speaker 2: And now as it looks like nobody wants to win.
- 4:46Speaker 4: It a game, how does this keep happening? Like there's
- 4:51Speaker 4: always this one division that nobody wants to win. It
- 4:53Speaker 4: ends up in like an quote unquote tank division, And
- 4:56Speaker 4: it's just like it's either the best case scenario for
- 4:58Speaker 4: a franchise or our worst case maybe both. But it
- 5:01Speaker 4: says like all the injuries that you know, we would
- 5:04Speaker 4: expect to be happening. That's Port of San Francisco, forty
- 5:06Speaker 4: nine ers as like, for mean purposes, ends up being
- 5:09Speaker 4: like playing a division, and this time it just chose
- 5:11Speaker 4: the NFC South for some reason.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I mean, Brandon, you're up in that neck of the woods.
- 5:17Speaker 2: What's the feeling out there in Carolina?
- 5:21Speaker 3: It's really fucking hot, man. If it's not raining, it's hot.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Oh man. And the thing is, though, when it rains,
- 5:31Speaker 1: it pours.
- 5:33Speaker 3: My god, it's been doing that shit, dude. I'm so
- 5:36Speaker 3: tired of it, so so my so myself. I broke
- 5:42Speaker 3: one of my mop buckets last week, and I said
- 5:45Speaker 3: it outside because I've just been kind of too lazy
- 5:47Speaker 3: to take it up the road to the trash can
- 5:48Speaker 3: for my apartment. And over the last couple of days,
- 5:53Speaker 3: you know, it rained really really badly, probably two three
- 5:57Speaker 3: nights ago or so. I come back home that night
- 5:59Speaker 3: and it's filled up with water. Pour it out, rain again,
- 6:01Speaker 3: the next day, filled back up again, pour it out,
- 6:04Speaker 3: next day, filled back up again. That's so much rain
- 6:06Speaker 3: we've gotten. For reference, it's like probably a four or
- 6:09Speaker 3: five gallon bucket just sitting in one spot never moving.
- 6:12Speaker 3: So we've gotten a ton of rain here to Carolina.
- 6:15Speaker 3: It's over the last week.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Dang.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I mean that's some big rainfall.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, no, I don't even think I could
- 6:22Speaker 2: fill up a bucket with that much rain unless I
- 6:25Speaker 2: fill my pool with it.
- 6:27Speaker 4: A hurricane passes by.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Which surprisingly we haven't had many this year, knock on wood,
- 6:33Speaker 2: which also might bode well with the city of Wallers.
- 6:39Speaker 4: I don't know if like you should take that response
- 6:41Speaker 4: to seriously as the joke. I cannot tell it's given
- 6:43Speaker 4: your falcons and I cannot tell.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it could go either which way. Much
- 6:50Speaker 2: like a Saints fan in the BAYEU.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Let's talk some freezets and footfall.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Now, yes, Leod's talk some breeze and football. We'll worry
- 7:00Speaker 2: about ruffling the Saints feathers and how much fun it
- 7:02Speaker 2: is to do that. Maybe a little bit later in
- 7:05Speaker 2: the program, but Brandon Nova just brought it up right there.
- 7:09Speaker 2: We had a football game on Thursday night, Hall of
- 7:14Speaker 2: Fame game, Carolina Panthers Arizona Cardinals. I was thoroughly impressed
- 7:21Speaker 2: with how this game played out.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Now, granted, first quarter, you know, you.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Get the feeling out moments, and then you see all
- 7:30Speaker 2: the points scored in the second quarter. The teams just
- 7:32Speaker 2: started piling on the points, piling on the points. And
- 7:37Speaker 2: I don't know about you, but I was really damn
- 7:40Speaker 2: impressed with Carson Beck. I didn't think he was gonna
- 7:42Speaker 2: make much in the NFL coming in the draft and
- 7:47Speaker 2: arn quickly. He was drafted in the third round this
- 7:50Speaker 2: year by Arizona, so he wasn't even a top, top
- 7:53Speaker 2: tier quarterback. But the young man impressed me on Thursday night.
- 7:59Speaker 3: So I think Carson and back already had a lot
- 8:01Speaker 3: of I don't want to say a lot of hype
- 8:03Speaker 3: going in behind him. But he definitely already had a
- 8:05Speaker 3: name established for himself, you know, having played for Miami.
- 8:10Speaker 3: So I definitely think there were other people who already
- 8:12Speaker 3: had that sort of stereotypical expectation of him. But what
- 8:17Speaker 3: I'm really more, uh, I guess stocked by is the
- 8:26Speaker 3: fact of the big elephant in the room for the Carolinas,
- 8:31Speaker 3: and that is Haines King, this kid who went entirely undrafted,
- 8:39Speaker 3: random random QB from Georgia Tech. No one drafted him.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Thirty two teams passed him over all, seven rounds and
- 8:48Speaker 3: this man come out here looking like the white, slim,
- 8:51Speaker 3: shady Tom Brady from you know, for the Carolina It
- 8:58Speaker 3: was just like, oh, where did this kid come from?
- 9:02Speaker 3: You know, twenty one from thirty four passing into TVs
- 9:06Speaker 3: with a rushing TV himself. If I'm not mistaken to
- 9:08Speaker 3: win the game for the for the Panthers there at
- 9:10Speaker 3: the end. That kid was impressive. That kid was really impressive.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Yeah. I was gonna say the same thing, get a
- 9:20Speaker 4: Carson back. I mean as the first thing that comes
- 9:22Speaker 4: into mind. Whatever I see the preseason, it's like, oh,
- 9:25Speaker 4: we're gonna see the backups maybe try to earn their
- 9:27Speaker 4: way into the starting line into like the main roster,
- 9:29Speaker 4: the fifty three man roster. But I noticed his first
- 9:32Speaker 4: impressions that we all need to take first impressions with
- 9:34Speaker 4: a great assault. But Carson Beck, hi jitimy looks like
- 9:37Speaker 4: he could be the starter over Jacoby Brissette, because I
- 9:40Speaker 4: need you all to remember Jacoby Brissette. And he won
- 9:42Speaker 4: one game last year for the Cardinals, and he didn't
- 9:45Speaker 4: look terrible, but he looked like he was like either
- 9:47Speaker 4: stat padding or you know, getting all these great status
- 9:50Speaker 4: in in garbage time. Where you know, you throw Carson
- 9:53Speaker 4: Beck potentially into the spotlight and yeah, see what he
- 9:58Speaker 4: has because you know, you know you're getting Kobe Brissette.
- 10:00Speaker 4: You didn't make the basic pocket passer kind of guy,
- 10:04Speaker 4: and when you're throwing something like Carson Beck, you could
- 10:08Speaker 4: see some potential. But uh yeah, I will say as well,
- 10:11Speaker 4: Haines King, he absolutely stole to show in the Hall
- 10:15Speaker 4: of Fame game, including that game winning running touchdown, which
- 10:17Speaker 4: by the way, credit to Dave Canals for calling that one.
- 10:20Speaker 4: But he's just like, it's the pre season, why not
- 10:22Speaker 4: go for it.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I mean, at the same time, you know, he also
- 10:25Speaker 3: had his hamstring stole from him the other day too,
- 10:27Speaker 3: so you know, Haines King's already you know, been bit
- 10:30Speaker 3: by the injury bug as well. Not to touch on
- 10:32Speaker 3: that topic a little too really, but that that can
- 10:35Speaker 3: definitely impress and he definitely got paid the next day too.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, he's definitely gonna be fighting for that roster
- 10:41Speaker 4: spot in for Carolina. But I also really just remembered
- 10:44Speaker 4: another standout from that Hall of Fame game. It's Andrew Billings.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I think that defet to tackle. He was demolishing that
- 10:54Speaker 4: Carolina line for a good majority of the first half.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Now, so go off of that.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say this, the Carolina offensive line, Yes,
- 11:04Speaker 2: it's been hit by a bunch of injuries, but at
- 11:06Speaker 2: the same time, the Carolina offensive line.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Is not that good.
- 11:10Speaker 2: It's not like other offensive lines that we've seen in
- 11:14Speaker 2: the NFL. I don't think the cohesion is there, and
- 11:19Speaker 2: it just really helps out when you have players that
- 11:23Speaker 2: Arizona was using against that offensive line. And yeah, you
- 11:27Speaker 2: were right just getting those pressures on Carolina's offense, forcing
- 11:32Speaker 2: Hayes King into situations that he wasn't fully prepared for.
- 11:36Speaker 2: But Hayes King, Yes, I agree, Brandon, he impressed me.
- 11:41Speaker 2: But I want to go to the other side of
- 11:44Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame game once again. I want to
- 11:45Speaker 2: go back to Arizona because Nova you brought him up
- 11:48Speaker 2: with Jacoby Brissett. Some of those games last year, yes,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I know, the Cardinals they beat the Cowboys and then
- 11:57Speaker 2: they never won again for the rest of the year,
- 12:00Speaker 2: which sounds not right. Yes, yes, sounds about right. You
- 12:04Speaker 2: have to remember and all of those games, yes, some
- 12:08Speaker 2: of them were blowouts, such as Seattle and San Francisco
- 12:12Speaker 2: and LA. You know the teams that the Cardinals want
- 12:15Speaker 2: to beat because of division rivalry, but he very nearly
- 12:20Speaker 2: beat Atlanta in Week sixteen if it wasn't for CJ.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Henderson somehow catching an interception on the sideline and barely
- 12:29Speaker 2: keeping the ball in bounds. That was impressive by Jacoby
- 12:33Speaker 2: Brissett in that massive losing streak, but also on Arizona's side, guys,
- 12:40Speaker 2: Jalen Brooks was incredible.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I think there were a lot of a lot of
- 12:48Speaker 3: stands standouts for that particular game. I think it's I
- 12:53Speaker 3: don't know, for a for a game of backups fighting
- 12:56Speaker 3: for their spot. They definitely had. They definitely had a
- 12:59Speaker 3: lot of standouts for three catches on ninety nine yards.
- 13:02Speaker 3: It's really really good preseason game.
- 13:06Speaker 2: And including that forty nine yarder right up the right sideline,
- 13:10Speaker 2: just a simple go route. And I watched this with
- 13:14Speaker 2: a couple of my co workers about that play. It's
- 13:18Speaker 2: very simple when you're a wide receiver running that nine
- 13:21Speaker 2: round or that go route. If you get on the
- 13:25Speaker 2: outside leverage of that cornerback, the second you reach the corner,
- 13:30Speaker 2: you are open. The quarterback should have that ball already
- 13:34Speaker 2: out on a frozen rope for.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You because you are open.
- 13:38Speaker 2: There's not a lot of cornerbacks, especially in the starter
- 13:42Speaker 2: category or even the reserves, that have that kind of
- 13:46Speaker 2: hip place and where even if they let the outside leverage,
- 13:50Speaker 2: they can turn their hips quick enough to stay with
- 13:52Speaker 2: that receiver running the nine rounte. So for Carson Beck
- 13:56Speaker 2: to play that ball perfectly, for Jordan Brooks to get
- 14:00Speaker 2: that forty nine Jalen Brooks sorry to get that forty
- 14:04Speaker 2: nine yard catch and run. Absolutely flawless performance by Carson
- 14:09Speaker 2: Beck on that play.
- 14:11Speaker 3: That's why I said I think he had a certain
- 14:13Speaker 3: amount of expectation going into the NFL anyway, just because
- 14:17Speaker 3: of how well he performed at Miami.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I mean, there's a reason that the Hurricanes reached the
- 14:24Speaker 4: National Championship Game in fact in Miami that year. You know,
- 14:27Speaker 4: Indiana was a team of destiny. But I will say
- 14:31Speaker 4: going through this preseason game makes me more excited to
- 14:34Speaker 4: go through the regular season in a month's time with
- 14:37Speaker 4: this recording, because once we get the full slate of
- 14:40Speaker 4: sixteen games to go through, Like, yeah, maybe some recasts
- 14:44Speaker 4: will be briefer than this, but this just makes me
- 14:47Speaker 4: more excited for the.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Future Nova's youth there Brandon because he just said sixteen
- 14:54Speaker 1: game regular season.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Ah, youth, No, he did it be sixteen game regular seasons.
- 15:00Speaker 4: I like the sixteen games when the thirty two teams.
- 15:04Speaker 1: But they're seventeen games.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Okay, but they're sixteen in a weeks.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's five weeks, all okay? And I thought of it
- 15:13Speaker 1: wrong there myself.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Okay, So there was a little bit of lost in
- 15:17Speaker 2: translation there.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Yeah, but no, there was a period where it was sixteen.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Do you believe that they're trying to put eighteen games
- 15:24Speaker 4: in the regular season. I don't think that's a good idea.
- 15:26Speaker 1: In all fairness.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I have heard their proposal for a NOVA, and my
- 15:32Speaker 2: thought of it is this, if they can get two
- 15:37Speaker 2: by weeks in a regular season, I think I'm okay
- 15:41Speaker 2: with it. But I really hope that they can get
- 15:45Speaker 2: the Monday after the super Bowl to be declared a
- 15:48Speaker 2: federal bank holiday, so nobody has to go to work
- 15:52Speaker 2: on the Monday after the super Bowl.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Cleared the nation wide holiday anyway, stayed in federal level,
- 15:57Speaker 3: and we're we're all just golden.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I said, you know, this makes me excited for
- 16:01Speaker 4: when we get a full sixteen game week to go through. Yes,
- 16:05Speaker 4: like I said, it before. You know, some recaps will
- 16:07Speaker 4: be briefer than others, but you know, doing recaps like
- 16:09Speaker 4: now makes me excited for what we're going to be
- 16:11Speaker 4: going through in a month's time.
- 16:14Speaker 1: You are absolutely correct there, man.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Now, outside of the names that we just mentioned, we
- 16:20Speaker 2: have to throw it out there that, yes, in this game,
- 16:23Speaker 2: we didn't see players like Bryce Young, we didn't see
- 16:25Speaker 2: players at Tenorroa McMillan, We didn't see Jeremiah Love And honestly,
- 16:31Speaker 2: I really would have wanted to see Jeremiah play in
- 16:34Speaker 2: this game. But at the same time, I'm okay with
- 16:38Speaker 2: the Panthers playing it's safe on Bryce and Tetoroa, especially
- 16:42Speaker 2: with what I've been hearing from Panthers' training camp that
- 16:46Speaker 2: Bryce and Tetoroa are getting that scary connection of a
- 16:51Speaker 2: quarterback with their favorite number one target.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Hmm, oh hey, we're just not gonna go for anything. Yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 4: but like a connection. I don't waiting for responsibi.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I know, I know we were.
- 17:12Speaker 2: We were We were like lost in thought right there,
- 17:14Speaker 2: like like Brandon was thinking like.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Hmm, how do I respond to this?
- 17:21Speaker 4: And here I just like waiting for Brandon ever someone
- 17:22Speaker 4: because I thought my turn was over, but I guess
- 17:24Speaker 4: I'll take it from here. You know, development quarterback received
- 17:28Speaker 4: for connection, it's always important, and you know we saw
- 17:30Speaker 4: one season a tyrot McMillan, but he definitely made Bryce
- 17:33Speaker 4: Young's job a lot easier. And Okay, this is gonna
- 17:36Speaker 4: be reason biased for myself because you know, Bryce Young
- 17:39Speaker 4: is a modern day product from southern California high school
- 17:41Speaker 4: and uh, it's finally good to see Bryce Young actually
- 17:45Speaker 4: look not like completely number one overall pick hype, but
- 17:48Speaker 4: a solid quarterback hype, which I think is a good
- 17:51Speaker 4: thing for Bryce's.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Bryce definitely took a lot of time to development. I'm
- 17:56Speaker 3: sitting over here just like, okay, side because of I
- 18:01Speaker 3: whenever he played for Alabama, I thought, you know, as
- 18:03Speaker 3: an Alabama fan, that he was always kind of just
- 18:06Speaker 3: like really mediocre. Like he definitely wasn't, you know, the
- 18:10Speaker 3: kind of UBI prospect that we were used to for
- 18:13Speaker 3: the Tide. So it was definitely he definitely had his
- 18:17Speaker 3: own play style that weirdly fit into Nick Saban's offense there.
- 18:22Speaker 3: But I definitely think it took him. I think it
- 18:25Speaker 3: was last season where he got benched for the Red Rocket.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Andy Dalton a couple of games, and then whenever he
- 18:31Speaker 3: came back, he was just like, you know what I
- 18:33Speaker 3: do know how to play football, so let's play football.
- 18:36Speaker 4: That's what we call a factory reset.
- 18:38Speaker 2: And I believe he was benched one time last year, Brandon,
- 18:43Speaker 2: but he was also that season that you're talking about
- 18:45Speaker 2: where he was benched for Andy Dalton. He was benched
- 18:48Speaker 2: in twenty twenty four because I remember Atlanta went into Carolina.
- 18:52Speaker 2: That was when Atlanta had a stretch of three straight
- 18:56Speaker 2: NFC South matchups and one of them was Carolina, and
- 19:00Speaker 2: Atlanta won that game against Andy Dalton and the Panthers.
- 19:05Speaker 2: That's when Kirk Cousins was still our quarterback and starting
- 19:09Speaker 2: to come alive as Kirk o chains in November.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I know it's October.
- 19:16Speaker 4: You like that, dude, that's about that's not about ten
- 19:21Speaker 4: years old. Think about it. That that come back when
- 19:25Speaker 4: when he was in Washington, that seems about to be
- 19:26Speaker 4: ten years old and iconic you know, either mean culture
- 19:30Speaker 4: or sports fandom.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I mean it, it is iconic for Kirk Cousins to
- 19:37Speaker 2: have that.
- 19:37Speaker 1: You like that, and honestly he did well.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Uh that stretched for Atlanta, but that was also when
- 19:45Speaker 2: he actually had an arm now I don't know if
- 19:48Speaker 2: he has an arm.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I think his arms kind of flaing a little bit,
- 19:52Speaker 3: but it kind of kind of steer us back into,
- 19:55Speaker 3: you know, the right direction here with Bryce Young. It's
- 19:58Speaker 3: it's nice to see. It's nice to see. I'm from
- 20:03Speaker 3: an Alabama fan perspective, a you know, Obama prospect to
- 20:07Speaker 3: start coming into his own, you know, over the last
- 20:10Speaker 3: few seasons, and I and as someone who is also
- 20:12Speaker 3: the Carolina resident, you know, I do hope that he
- 20:15Speaker 3: can continue that trend because the Calm Panthers really haven't
- 20:19Speaker 3: had much success in the NFL front since Cam Newton
- 20:24Speaker 3: and they went on that run, that almost near perfect
- 20:27Speaker 3: undefeated run wherever they kind of choked there to Atlanta
- 20:30Speaker 3: cough cough to ruin their undefeated streak and then turn
- 20:33Speaker 3: around and just get decimated by Denver in the Super Bowl.
- 20:37Speaker 4: No, I think the moment that the whole Cam Newton
- 20:40Speaker 4: regime collapsed wasn't the Super Bowl. I think it was
- 20:43Speaker 4: twenty eighteen nineteen when they lost to the Steelers on
- 20:46Speaker 4: Thursday Football that just never won a game again and
- 20:48Speaker 4: they were never the same after that. However, I want
- 20:51Speaker 4: to go back to the whole proud of being Bryce
- 20:52Speaker 4: Young because you have your bias because he was from Alabama.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I got mine when he was in high school.
- 20:57Speaker 2: In modern day, and I've got my bias that he
- 21:00Speaker 2: doesn't do well because he's in the division.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Isn't that fun?
- 21:07Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 21:07Speaker 2: But it feels like right now Bryce Young is the
- 21:09Speaker 2: new Jamis Winston.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Well in the sense of.
- 21:18Speaker 2: That Bryce Young seems to play his best, like his
- 21:22Speaker 2: absolute best when the Atlanta Falcons are his opponent.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Or what he goes like I said, rams twice in
- 21:29Speaker 4: one year.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Also true.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Anyway, we are gonna have Kirk Cousins pop up again
- 21:35Speaker 4: in the later segment of this episode. But we have
- 21:38Speaker 4: more things to talk about, and let's talk about the
- 21:40Speaker 4: Hall of Famers. And I'm pretty sure, Talent, you have
- 21:42Speaker 4: like two people you want to talk to because of
- 21:44Speaker 4: the division purposes.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so let's discuss the enshrinement ceremony, gentlemen, because as
- 21:53Speaker 2: we know, around this time with Canton, Ohio, five individuals
- 21:58Speaker 2: got those busts and we got to hear some incredible
- 22:01Speaker 2: speeches from some very deserving players. And we're gonna go
- 22:07Speaker 2: in order of those Hall of Fame inductees. So we
- 22:11Speaker 2: are gonna start with Larry the living legend. Fitzgerald wide receiver,
- 22:17Speaker 2: arguably one of the best hands in the history of
- 22:21Speaker 2: the NFL. And funnily enough, we just got finished talking
- 22:24Speaker 2: with the Arizona Cardinals and here we are talking about
- 22:27Speaker 2: Arizona Cardinals.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Here's the thing Larry Fitzgerald absolutely deserves. I mean the
- 22:34Speaker 4: playmaking that he does, you know, two and four to
- 22:38Speaker 4: twenty twenty. Yes, like his career. He kind of called
- 22:40Speaker 4: it like a year late. I think he went out
- 22:44Speaker 4: at the season during the COVID era. But you know,
- 22:47Speaker 4: Larry Fitzgerald, I mean I got into the NFL rather late.
- 22:51Speaker 4: But the like, the first thing I remember from Larry
- 22:53Speaker 4: Fitzgerald was that twenty sixteen NFC Digital Round between the
- 22:59Speaker 4: Packers and the car and Larry Fitzgerald just needing two
- 23:02Speaker 4: plays to beat the Packers in overtime. I mean that
- 23:04Speaker 4: was just the classic game in itself, but that cemented
- 23:06Speaker 4: Fitzgerald's legend in Arizona.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I still remember that game as well.
- 23:15Speaker 2: And we also have to remember that in that game
- 23:18Speaker 2: you just mentioned Nova and Brandon. I think we can
- 23:20Speaker 2: talk about this that had two hail Mary's from Aaron
- 23:25Speaker 2: Rodgers in that game as well, which is just incredible
- 23:29Speaker 2: that even with the Hail Marys and Aaron Rodgers praying
- 23:32Speaker 2: to his fictitious God, it was Larry Fitzgerald who found
- 23:37Speaker 2: Christ and got the victory for his team.
- 23:39Speaker 4: I keep in mind Rogers had no receivers during that
- 23:41Speaker 4: game because I think a lot of them were injured
- 23:43Speaker 4: and they had to rely on the special teamers Janice.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Look, Jannis wasn't terrible as a receiver, Like, even though
- 23:49Speaker 3: he was fairly special days, he wasn't terrible.
- 23:54Speaker 4: He wasn't terrible, But like give with the situation he
- 23:56Speaker 4: had no receivers th Jannis being the best receiver. It
- 23:58Speaker 4: was honestly funny. But hey, there's there's a living proof Janus.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Yeah, Larry. Sorry. At the same time, you know, Larry
- 24:06Speaker 3: Fitzgerald is probably going to be one of probably the
- 24:10Speaker 3: don't quote me on this exact number, so I'm just
- 24:12Speaker 3: going to use the I'm just going to use the terminology.
- 24:15Speaker 3: A few players in the NFL to have as consistently
- 24:22Speaker 3: successful career as he had and did it all with
- 24:26Speaker 3: just that one team. Also, looking at his lifetime stat's
- 24:31Speaker 3: no one has had I very rarely have I ever
- 24:33Speaker 3: heard anybody talk about how over you know, two thousand
- 24:36Speaker 3: and four to twenty twenty time friend that he played
- 24:39Speaker 3: had just over two thousand targets on him and only
- 24:43Speaker 3: had thirteen fumbles.
- 24:46Speaker 2: That is absolutely incredible to think about in sixteen years,
- 24:51Speaker 2: you only had thirteen fumbles Like that is efficiency for
- 24:56Speaker 2: Larry fitzgeralden. I remember growing up, my brother was a
- 25:00Speaker 2: big fan of Larry fitzhow to the point where sometimes
- 25:03Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys were like this growing up,
- 25:05Speaker 2: but did you ever have a friend of yours that
- 25:08Speaker 2: you just played like football at the park or you
- 25:12Speaker 2: guys maybe just went out in the backyard your friends
- 25:15Speaker 2: and every time you threw up a ball, you knew
- 25:17Speaker 2: that that kid was going to catch the ball. It
- 25:20Speaker 2: just didn't matter.
- 25:21Speaker 4: See, you have a problem with that For me personally,
- 25:23Speaker 4: I never had any friends growing up.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Okay, Man didn't have any France growing up. Man didn't
- 25:32Speaker 3: watch SpongeBob as a kid grow up, just didn't have
- 25:36Speaker 3: a childhood growing up.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not gonna disclose it. I'm just gonna say,
- 25:42Speaker 4: you guys like show.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but my brother back then, uh, he was like
- 25:50Speaker 2: we actually called him Larry at times. Just because he
- 25:53Speaker 2: was catching balls that shouldn't have been caught. It was
- 25:57Speaker 2: that incredible. His hands were that easy to they were
- 26:03Speaker 2: just smooth to catch. And that's just impressive for Larry Fitzgerald.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Absolutely deserving that he's in the Hall of Fame and
- 26:14Speaker 2: in all famous Brandon, I'm actually surprised that I didn't
- 26:18Speaker 2: know that he was a ball boy for the Minnesota
- 26:21Speaker 2: Vikings during that nineteen ninety eight season with Dennis Green.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Man's been around for a hot minute, longer than we realize.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Absolutely has been around for a hot minute. But moving
- 26:34Speaker 1: on from.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Larry Fitzgerald, we're gonna go in crople order of the presentations,
- 26:40Speaker 2: and next up is a man who, as we know
- 26:45Speaker 2: from the famous Rich Eisend quote, punters are people too well,
- 26:49Speaker 2: in this situation, kickers are people too as man, and
- 26:57Speaker 2: we are gonna now talk about Adam Vinnit Terry. He
- 27:00Speaker 2: only played for the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts,
- 27:05Speaker 2: one of the most reliable place kickers in NFL history.
- 27:11Speaker 1: And Brandon, I'm gonna let.
- 27:14Speaker 2: You take the lead on this because I've got some
- 27:16Speaker 2: I've got some thoughts on Adam VINITII that I will say,
- 27:19Speaker 2: but since you are the resident Patriot here, let's hear
- 27:23Speaker 2: from your opinion about Adam Vinetaire.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Man was just automatic obviously, like aunee kicker. You know,
- 27:32Speaker 3: he's gonna have days where he misses, you know, a
- 27:34Speaker 3: pat or you know, a field goal here and there.
- 27:37Speaker 3: I don't think he ever really averaged more than eight
- 27:40Speaker 3: misses on a field goal per season. But I know
- 27:44Speaker 3: that just during the period of time that he was
- 27:46Speaker 3: with New England, which I believe he started in nineteen
- 27:49Speaker 3: ninety six, I don't think he ever scored below one
- 27:52Speaker 3: hundred points for US every single season that he was
- 27:55Speaker 3: a Patriot. Just single handedly, his foot got us at
- 28:00Speaker 3: least one hundred points from ninety six to like two
- 28:03Speaker 3: thousand and five, two thousand and six.
- 28:06Speaker 4: That is really reliable, and especially during the Dynasty run,
- 28:09Speaker 4: where you know, didn't really expect about that the Patriots
- 28:12Speaker 4: until you know they blossomed the way they did. I mean,
- 28:14Speaker 4: that's probably a different discussion because Dinitarry had comments for
- 28:17Speaker 4: Brady during the speech, but you know, it doesn't matter
- 28:21Speaker 4: how like you rate a quarterback. But finit Terry doing that,
- 28:26Speaker 4: I think pretty sure he wasn't a super bowling squad
- 28:30Speaker 4: for the Colts and ASB forty one if I re
- 28:33Speaker 4: membory series correctly, and four Super Bowl rings a twenty
- 28:38Speaker 4: three year career episode.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is where I'm gonna come out, Brendan,
- 28:45Speaker 2: and I'm gonna at least say this from my vantage
- 28:48Speaker 2: front of end, because again I love that Inventitarry as
- 28:51Speaker 2: a placekicker. Thought he was absolutely incredible, and we got
- 28:55Speaker 2: a shout out that twenty fourteen season. I know it
- 28:58Speaker 2: was with Indianapolis, it was not with your Patriots, but
- 29:01Speaker 2: the man only missed one field goal attempt in sixteen games.
- 29:07Speaker 2: That is unimaginable consistency that I don't even think Justin
- 29:13Speaker 2: Tucker had him one point.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Sorry to Nova on Matt.
- 29:17Speaker 4: I was gonna say, I rather not talk about him
- 29:19Speaker 4: because like that's like a kicker that I wish was
- 29:21Speaker 4: still in the league, but he can't dishinned himself out
- 29:23Speaker 4: of the league.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So at least from my vantas point, Brandon, and
- 29:30Speaker 2: this is where I'm gonna get a little bit. I
- 29:32Speaker 2: got the tin boiled hat on and everything on this one.
- 29:36Speaker 2: People try to say that our super Bowl, super Bowl
- 29:40Speaker 2: fifty one was rigged, that they wanted Tom Brady to
- 29:45Speaker 2: come back from twenty five down to beat Atlanta. You
- 29:49Speaker 2: know how they say, you know, some people say that,
- 29:57Speaker 2: I mean, I got him laughing.
- 30:01Speaker 3: First of all, First of all, if it is Brady
- 30:05Speaker 3: coming back from twenty five down and against an offense
- 30:09Speaker 3: that was as high octane as Atlanta's offense was that year,
- 30:14Speaker 3: was I I don't know that honestly, if you could
- 30:19Speaker 3: have scripted that, Like there were the adjustments that were
- 30:22Speaker 3: made after half time in England. Gave up that first
- 30:25Speaker 3: the second half, you know, beginning of the third quarter
- 30:28Speaker 3: touchdown run. I think it was to DeVonta Freeman there
- 30:30Speaker 3: to you know, start off the second half, and then
- 30:33Speaker 3: after that it was just kind of just all over
- 30:34Speaker 3: from there.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Yeah. So again I don't buy into that belief by
- 30:40Speaker 2: the way, that that Super Bowl.
- 30:41Speaker 4: No, no one should believe that any games scripted, If
- 30:43Speaker 4: any games scripted, then you need to get your mind checked.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Well well, well, hold well, hold on, hold on, hold on,
- 30:51Speaker 2: hold on. I said I got the ten I said,
- 30:54Speaker 2: I got the tin boiled cap on. Here is the
- 30:56Speaker 2: ten boiled calf of every suit Super Bowl that the
- 31:01Speaker 2: Patriots won, the only one that I will make a
- 31:06Speaker 2: case that was rigged was that very first one. So
- 31:11Speaker 2: super Bowl thirty six six against these Rams, against the Rams,
- 31:17Speaker 2: the greatest show on turf. The reason why I say that,
- 31:21Speaker 2: Brandon is very simple. Going into Super Bowl thirty six,
- 31:25Speaker 2: it was in New Orleans and they had the Super
- 31:27Speaker 2: Bowl thirty six logo. It was a Marty Graw themed
- 31:30Speaker 2: logo because again it's New Orleans. What else are you
- 31:33Speaker 2: going to make that logo up? But then we had
- 31:38Speaker 2: September eleventh happen, and again, Nova, you're too young, you
- 31:42Speaker 2: don't we know, we know where you were when nine
- 31:45Speaker 2: to eleven happened.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Oh no, don't worry. History teachers caught me up on that.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Yeah, but but but but we know where you were
- 31:54Speaker 1: when eleven hit.
- 31:56Speaker 4: But yes we do.
- 31:58Speaker 1: You weren't alive.
- 32:01Speaker 4: That's why saying you don't, because how were you supposed
- 32:03Speaker 4: to know?
- 32:05Speaker 3: That hurt?
- 32:08Speaker 2: But getting back to the conspiracy theory, after September eleventh happened,
- 32:14Speaker 2: that Marty Gras logo disappeared. It disappeared, It was never
- 32:19Speaker 2: used again. In another piece of promotional material for that
- 32:22Speaker 2: Super Bowl, in its place was a image of the
- 32:27Speaker 2: Continental US. Sorry to Alaska, Hawaii, are not part of
- 32:30Speaker 2: the Continental US, but that became the logo for Super
- 32:35Speaker 2: Bowl thirty six, the Continental United States with the American
- 32:39Speaker 2: flag motif. A team named the Patriots makes the Super.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Bowl and wins the game on a game winning.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Field goal with on the clock, and the owner of
- 32:58Speaker 2: the team says, and I quote, we are all Patriots.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Tell me when I'm telling lies that that Super Bowl
- 33:11Speaker 2: can be the only one that you can make any
- 33:15Speaker 2: sort of a cojun argument that it was rigged.
- 33:21Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say, you should probably just bet your
- 33:24Speaker 3: tinfoil hat to the side and just kind of, you know,
- 33:29Speaker 3: just remember it. Remember it exists. And that was the
- 33:33Speaker 3: beginning of a dynasty.
- 33:35Speaker 2: And again and again, I know that's where a little
- 33:38Speaker 2: bit of the argument happens, where it's like, oh, but
- 33:40Speaker 2: they won two more after that, Yes, I can see that.
- 33:44Speaker 1: And those also were won by field goals. Mind you,
- 33:47Speaker 1: the third one wasn't well, oh no, no, the third
- 33:52Speaker 1: one was against Carolina.
- 33:53Speaker 4: I'm I'm no, the second one against Carolina. The third
- 33:55Speaker 4: one was Philadelphia.
- 33:57Speaker 1: But I thought that one was one. I thought that
- 33:58Speaker 1: was twenty four to twenty one, if I remember correctly.
- 34:01Speaker 4: I was like, no, they didn't win by a field
- 34:03Speaker 4: goal at Philadelphia. I know they won thirty eight at
- 34:07Speaker 4: their The game was tied at twenty nine apiece.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Uh it says twenty four to twenty one for a
- 34:13Speaker 2: final for Super Bowl thirty nine.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Okay, but don't remember if it was the last second
- 34:17Speaker 4: field goal that was made?
- 34:20Speaker 2: Uh oh yeah, okay, so it was great.
- 34:24Speaker 1: So there was a thirty yard touchdown.
- 34:26Speaker 2: So yeah, so it wasn't a game winning field goal,
- 34:28Speaker 2: but it was still a three point three point game.
- 34:32Speaker 3: You're talking about They talking about the Carolina Super Bowl,
- 34:34Speaker 3: right or North Carolina went like eleven to five that year.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah, he's talking about that one that happened to thirty eight.
- 34:41Speaker 4: But he got confused. But the field goal thing, the
- 34:45Speaker 4: thirty nine between the Patriots and the Eagles.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Yeah, about to say, yeah, no, Carolina, the Carolina Super
- 34:51Speaker 3: Bowl is absolutely won by a field goal because vinitary
- 34:53Speaker 3: would kicked the field goal to win that Super Bowl too.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:57Speaker 2: But but again, like that, that is my conspiracy theory
- 35:01Speaker 2: of any game.
- 35:03Speaker 1: That is the only one that I will say.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Now again, the argument can be made, Oh but the
- 35:07Speaker 2: NFL or but he's still won two more after that. Okay, Yeah,
- 35:11Speaker 2: it's because he got more into the system, he understood
- 35:14Speaker 2: it more, and the Patriots just took off as a dynasty.
- 35:17Speaker 2: But again, I only do that game. Of all the
- 35:22Speaker 2: hundreds of thousands of NFL games that have been played,
- 35:26Speaker 2: that is the only one that I will ever say
- 35:29Speaker 2: has a cojuin argument to be there may have been
- 35:32Speaker 2: some miscellaneous behind the scenes going on.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Can we move on?
- 35:39Speaker 1: Yes, we can move on because we're not gonna.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Fight fun fight real quick, fun fight real quick to
- 35:46Speaker 3: kind of hurt Nova's feelings here a little bit. So
- 35:49Speaker 3: we were discussing kicker stats and in the process I
- 35:53Speaker 3: decided to look up Justin Tucker's stats because we made
- 35:57Speaker 3: the comment about how Adamvinitary missed a missed one field
- 36:01Speaker 3: goal that year in that year in Indianapolis. ESPN doesn't
- 36:07Speaker 3: even have his stats at all.
- 36:11Speaker 4: That's unbelievable.
- 36:15Speaker 3: His page right now, there are no stats for his
- 36:19Speaker 3: time in the NFL because he has shunned himself. I
- 36:23Speaker 3: assume that these things go hand in hand. But for
- 36:26Speaker 3: the stats, and I only looked at ESPN page right now,
- 36:29Speaker 3: it says no available information.
- 36:33Speaker 1: That is unfortunate.
- 36:35Speaker 2: But that's a good transition point there, Brandon, so let's
- 36:39Speaker 2: move on from Adam Vin and Terryberg. So we're going
- 36:42Speaker 2: from offense, we went to special teams. Let's go to
- 36:46Speaker 2: the other side of the football that you need to
- 36:48Speaker 2: win a game, and that is defense. And this one
- 36:52Speaker 2: is fun for me because, ah, Keith Lee, what what
- 36:59Speaker 2: what do I have to say about number fifty nine
- 37:04Speaker 2: for the Carolina Panthers.
- 37:07Speaker 3: That he was a defensive genius for Carolina. He's probably
- 37:11Speaker 3: one of the best defensive players to ever cross that
- 37:17Speaker 3: franchise's path.
- 37:20Speaker 2: And in all fairness, uh novo, what was your thoughts
- 37:25Speaker 2: on uh louke Keighley? Because again I will save myself
- 37:29Speaker 2: for for this one.
- 37:31Speaker 4: I mean the highlands that I seen. You know, I
- 37:33Speaker 4: trid to look like a because I haven't seen in
- 37:35Speaker 4: his performances and sometime, because you know, there's like a
- 37:38Speaker 4: five year period in order to enter the Hall of Fame.
- 37:40Speaker 4: But you know, a little surprised that I saw initially
- 37:44Speaker 4: when Keighley retired what I thought was early because Keighley,
- 37:48Speaker 4: he was insane at the linebacker position. He could, you know,
- 37:50Speaker 4: read the defensive coverage, you could get interceptions, he could
- 37:54Speaker 4: sack the quarterback, stock the runs. You know, he is
- 37:56Speaker 4: a really smart linebacker. It just sucks he that one
- 38:00Speaker 4: Siper Bowl chance they had a zyber Bulle fifty, you
- 38:02Speaker 4: know the offense where the Panthers stuttered.
- 38:05Speaker 1: At the end.
- 38:05Speaker 4: But that's kind of a different discussion for another day.
- 38:08Speaker 4: But a big reason why the Panthers were as relevant
- 38:11Speaker 4: as they were up until that twenty eighteen nineteen season
- 38:14Speaker 4: collapse was because of a combination of great play and
- 38:18Speaker 4: you know, smart techniques by the Panthers and especially Luke Keighley.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and honestly, when it comes to Keighley again as
- 38:27Speaker 1: a division opponent, you would think, I don't want to
- 38:31Speaker 1: see any NFC South people in the Hall of Fame.
- 38:34Speaker 2: And if to anybody who thinks that, I'm gonna tell
- 38:37Speaker 2: you there's a wall, go argue with it, because there
- 38:41Speaker 2: are players that I believe from the NFC South, and
- 38:44Speaker 2: we're gonna be talking about another one very soon that
- 38:48Speaker 2: if I would have said that that person's not a
- 38:50Speaker 2: Hall of Fame or then I really would have needed
- 38:54Speaker 2: a cat scan and a rubber room at the puzzle
- 38:57Speaker 2: factory for that one. But we'll discuss number nine in
- 39:03Speaker 2: a minute. Let's talk about number fifty nine again and Honestly,
- 39:08Speaker 2: when it came to Luke Keighley, I will say this,
- 39:11Speaker 2: he was one of my favorite linebackers because, like Nova
- 39:15Speaker 2: you just said it, his ability to study offenses from
- 39:19Speaker 2: the linebacker position. There's a reason he was the captain
- 39:23Speaker 2: of that defense for as many years as he was.
- 39:26Speaker 2: He came into the league. He was I believe he
- 39:29Speaker 2: was defensive Rookie of the year. He led the league
- 39:31Speaker 2: in tackles in his rookie year.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Then the very next year he's the defensive player of
- 39:38Speaker 1: the Year.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Like to go from the best rookie in the NFL
- 39:44Speaker 2: to the best player in the NFL on your side
- 39:48Speaker 2: of the ball is no small feat in and of itself.
- 39:52Speaker 2: So watching how he played, and again I agree, I
- 39:58Speaker 2: hate that his career ended after only eight seasons. I
- 40:01Speaker 2: think he could have gone at least ten, maybe eleven.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I know he had a I think he had some
- 40:08Speaker 1: concussion issues, which is what.
- 40:13Speaker 2: I believe that's what caused him to retire at such
- 40:17Speaker 2: a young age because he wanted to have a life
- 40:19Speaker 2: with his family.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Absolutely commendable there.
- 40:23Speaker 2: And the only thing that I will say, and again
- 40:27Speaker 2: this is from the falcon side, I love the fact
- 40:31Speaker 2: that Brandon. You alluded to it that twenty fifteen season
- 40:35Speaker 2: when Carolina had that Super Bowl run loss to Atlanta.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Who did Julio Jones Moss on that seventy yard touchdown?
- 40:48Speaker 3: But I was terrified whenever I said every time I
- 40:52Speaker 3: saw that man mot somebody.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I loved that play.
- 40:58Speaker 2: And I know even Keith has said it himself that
- 41:02Speaker 2: he saw Matt Ryan roll out to the left. He
- 41:05Speaker 2: saw Matt Ryan just point and fire that ball, and
- 41:10Speaker 2: all he's sees like he's ready to catch that ball
- 41:13Speaker 2: and intercept it, and then he just sees these two
- 41:16Speaker 2: bar mits come over on top of him, and he's like,
- 41:20Speaker 2: what the hell? So that is again that is a
- 41:27Speaker 2: fun thing about Louke Keighley. But again, outside of him,
- 41:31Speaker 2: he reminded me a lot of Ryan Carrigan as well
- 41:34Speaker 2: in terms of his ability to study opposing offenses and
- 41:40Speaker 2: just work your defense and get your guys in position.
- 41:44Speaker 2: So Keith Lee from a Falcons fan, congratulations man. I
- 41:50Speaker 2: may argue about him being a first ballot Hall of Famer,
- 41:54Speaker 2: but I don't think there's.
- 41:56Speaker 3: A lot of argument there.
- 42:00Speaker 4: I'm only argument I ever have a sample size, But
- 42:02Speaker 4: that's debatable.
- 42:04Speaker 2: And and that and that'd be the argument a sample size.
- 42:07Speaker 2: But again, congratulations, salute Keekley. It was deserved. He he
- 42:13Speaker 2: was gonna be a Hall of Famer.
- 42:15Speaker 1: But let's move. I'm sorry you had something noble.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Yeah, you're gonna have one more person to say congratulations
- 42:20Speaker 4: in TURS the NSC South Frankleys and you could get
- 42:22Speaker 4: to it right now. It's uh cornack, I want.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I wanted to save him. I wanted to save him.
- 42:33Speaker 4: A yeah, I know, well.
- 42:38Speaker 1: True might as well in all fairness.
- 42:42Speaker 2: I loved at the beginning where I guess Chris Berman
- 42:46Speaker 2: had that little line where it's like the only thing
- 42:49Speaker 2: I have negative about this guy is you picked Perdue
- 42:53Speaker 2: over Brown like like that. That was funny, and it
- 42:58Speaker 2: was also funny to hear him say how the hell
- 43:01Speaker 2: Perdue got this kid from Central Texas to go to
- 43:04Speaker 2: West Lafayette, Indiana.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I'll never know, but.
- 43:09Speaker 4: That that's college for you. They're gonna find enticing offers
- 43:12Speaker 4: for you.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Yeah, they will find those enticing offers. And it was
- 43:18Speaker 2: also nice for him to shout out Ladani and Tom
- 43:20Speaker 2: Oninson because I mean, again, Nova, well young for you.
- 43:26Speaker 2: But you did get to see some of LT's performances.
- 43:29Speaker 2: But Brandon and I remember, if you saw twenty one
- 43:32Speaker 2: in the backfield for the San Diego Chargers, good luck
- 43:36Speaker 2: tackling that man.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep. Just imagine Drew Brees had
- 43:41Speaker 3: spent his whole career with San Diego.
- 43:43Speaker 4: Didn't he request the trade out if I remember?
- 43:46Speaker 3: Nope, they moved on from Drew Brees whenever they drafted
- 43:48Speaker 3: Philip Rivers and decided to keep him around over Drew Brees.
- 43:52Speaker 4: How's the another thing, because that Philip Rivers like Manning.
- 43:56Speaker 2: But also when he was in San Diego, he dove
- 43:59Speaker 2: for a fumble and he hurt his throat.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I think it was his throwing shoulder.
- 44:04Speaker 2: If I remember correctly, I believe it was around the
- 44:07Speaker 2: time they drafted Philip Rivers. Brandon and going into that
- 44:12Speaker 2: free agency, he was very close to going to Miami
- 44:16Speaker 2: because of Nick Saban, because Saban was still coaching Miami, and.
- 44:22Speaker 3: I would have loved to have seen Yeah, sorry, I
- 44:24Speaker 3: would have loved to have seen Saban, you know, have
- 44:25Speaker 3: an actual successful NFL career as I head coach. But
- 44:28Speaker 3: Miami didn't want to let him do anything that he
- 44:30Speaker 3: actually wanted to do. So he said fuck it and
- 44:32Speaker 3: went back to Alabama or he went, you know, back
- 44:34Speaker 3: to the college football world where he wound up going
- 44:36Speaker 3: to Alabama. But yeah, I know Drew Brees, Uh, he
- 44:40Speaker 3: had I remember that injury. I think it was into
- 44:43Speaker 3: the end of the two thousand and five regular season
- 44:45Speaker 3: where I think I want to say they were playing
- 44:48Speaker 3: against Dinburgh or it was somebody else from the AFC
- 44:50Speaker 3: West to where he did. He it was to his
- 44:54Speaker 3: throwing shoulder. It was it was a dislocation and tear
- 44:57Speaker 3: to his throwing shoulder that Jeppard used his career here
- 45:01Speaker 3: five years into his career, and then he turned around
- 45:04Speaker 3: and did all this.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm looking it up right now, and you were
- 45:08Speaker 1: you were correct.
- 45:09Speaker 2: It was against the Denver Broncos, against John Lynch, of
- 45:14Speaker 2: all people, is who made the hit.
- 45:17Speaker 1: That tore his labor.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Kind of kind of fitting that one of the hardest
- 45:23Speaker 2: hitting safeties in the NFL uh tore the labor of
- 45:27Speaker 2: Drew Brees's shoulder. But that checks out, It does check out.
- 45:33Speaker 2: But then we have to talk about when he went
- 45:38Speaker 2: there to that city with that team.
- 45:43Speaker 4: I keep in mind they were devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Like early on into Breeze's time in New Orleans, so
- 45:50Speaker 4: had some motivation there.
- 45:51Speaker 2: And and in all fairness, I'm not that callous when
- 45:55Speaker 2: it comes to the city of New Orleans. Again, I'm
- 45:58Speaker 2: in Florida, so I know about hurricanes and how they
- 46:02Speaker 2: can ravage a city, how they can ravage an area.
- 46:06Speaker 2: And it was a nightmare for New Orleans because some
- 46:10Speaker 2: people literally lost everything in that storm. So I commend
- 46:16Speaker 2: the city of New Orleans for what they did to
- 46:19Speaker 2: rebuild that city. I commend them beyond believe. That might
- 46:24Speaker 2: be one of the only things nice I say about.
- 46:26Speaker 3: The new.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Cutting out acting him.
- 46:36Speaker 2: No, there there's no there's no tinfoil on that one.
- 46:40Speaker 2: But yes, he went to New Orleans. And honestly, New
- 46:46Speaker 2: Orleans was a stick in the mud anyway. I mean
- 46:49Speaker 2: they had Aaron Brooks as their quarterback. They really were
- 46:53Speaker 2: taking a crap shoot on somebody as their quarterback because
- 46:57Speaker 2: Aaron Brooks was not good, especially with the Aaron Brooks'
- 47:00Speaker 2: lineage included a guy like Michael Vick. So that shows
- 47:06Speaker 2: New Orleans was desperate. And yes, they took a shot
- 47:10Speaker 2: on Drew Brees and that two thousand and nine season, Man,
- 47:15Speaker 2: I'm look, say what you want about New Orleans, and
- 47:19Speaker 2: if you're a Falcons fan, there are words that you
- 47:22Speaker 2: can say about that season. But yeah, I mean New
- 47:27Speaker 2: Orleans was just that freaking good with Drew Brees as
- 47:30Speaker 2: their quarterback. I know they had a stretch. I think
- 47:33Speaker 2: it was what three straight years of them finishing seven
- 47:35Speaker 2: and nine, But in all, I believe in all three
- 47:38Speaker 2: of those years were when Drew Brees threw for five
- 47:41Speaker 2: thousand yards. Now, granted, when your defense can't stop a nosebleed,
- 47:45Speaker 2: then your quarterback probably has a shot at throwing five
- 47:48Speaker 2: thousand yards, especially, but when your quarterback is six feet
- 47:53Speaker 2: and all this offensive linemen are taller than him, how
- 47:57Speaker 2: is he supposed to see his receivers? Said that line
- 48:01Speaker 2: that when he was in San Diego. He said it
- 48:04Speaker 2: in the quarterback room when the coaches told him, why
- 48:08Speaker 2: didn't you throw it to this guy because he was open?
- 48:09Speaker 5: And he was like, because I see him, I can't
- 48:13Speaker 5: see him short.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Yeah, So that was an argument that I had for
- 48:19Speaker 3: the longest time, is how the hell was Drew Brees
- 48:21Speaker 3: able to see and make the plays that he did
- 48:24Speaker 3: when the rest of the NFL was taller than him,
- 48:26Speaker 3: Like im ass tall as Drew Brees is, for God's sakes,
- 48:29Speaker 3: But for the years that you're referencing, I believe it's
- 48:31Speaker 3: fourteen fifteen sixteen where he went it was a seven
- 48:35Speaker 3: and nine for those three straight years. I want to say,
- 48:37Speaker 3: in the middle of that pack he went seven and
- 48:39Speaker 3: eight and then just let the backup QB take over
- 48:41Speaker 3: for a game. But yeah, I think he I think
- 48:44Speaker 3: he threw just below five thousand yards in two of
- 48:48Speaker 3: those seasons, which even still is still phenomenal for you know,
- 48:53Speaker 3: the shortest for the for the White Chris Rock of
- 48:55Speaker 3: the league. You know, also, is that.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Good time we've done this, Brandon.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Oh, but but getting back to let's get back to
- 49:11Speaker 2: talk about Drew Brees again. I mean five seasons of
- 49:16Speaker 2: five thousand passing yards, including five four hundred and seventy
- 49:21Speaker 2: six and that twenty eleven season, which absolutely is incredible
- 49:26Speaker 2: to think about that he threw from nearly fifty five
- 49:29Speaker 2: hundred yards and that's three miles that he threw the football.
- 49:34Speaker 2: And I remember correctly he said if you take the
- 49:37Speaker 2: yards that he threw either was him or it was
- 49:40Speaker 2: Chris Berman, that that would total I think forty six miles.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Which is halfway to Baton Rouge from from New Orleans.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Let's say, looks like, was it eighty thousand yards he threw.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Four and fifty eight.
- 50:03Speaker 3: And fifty eight two miles is forty five miles.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's halfway from New Orleans to Baton Rouge,
- 50:09Speaker 1: which is insane to think of.
- 50:12Speaker 2: The man was halfway from the city that adopted him
- 50:15Speaker 2: and the city he said that he would literally die
- 50:18Speaker 2: for and almost did.
- 50:21Speaker 1: At one point.
- 50:22Speaker 2: I remember there was a we're not going to get
- 50:25Speaker 2: into that discussion about Drew Brees. Well, we knowed the
- 50:28Speaker 2: argument that I would bring up that he very nearly
- 50:31Speaker 2: did with some quotes that he said.
- 50:34Speaker 1: In his post playing career. But I digress.
- 50:40Speaker 2: I still remember, and I liked them talking about it.
- 50:43Speaker 2: That game against Washington on Monday Night Football where he
- 50:49Speaker 2: broke the record for passing yards in a career, and
- 50:55Speaker 2: as a Falcons fan, you want to say screw him.
- 50:59Speaker 2: But at the same time, if you're a realist in
- 51:04Speaker 2: the NFL, you are happy that that happened. And I'll
- 51:10Speaker 2: admit I was happy for Drew Brees setting that record.
- 51:14Speaker 2: I think they probably could have lessened the time of
- 51:18Speaker 2: the celebration because I wanted to get back to the
- 51:20Speaker 2: football game.
- 51:22Speaker 3: But I don't remember that game. I thought it was
- 51:24Speaker 3: very strange to celebrate that in the middle of the game.
- 51:27Speaker 4: And then you and I also you celebrate that, and
- 51:29Speaker 4: then you just remember Lebron James doing that whole thing
- 51:32Speaker 4: when he got the most points in the NBA and
- 51:33Speaker 4: the whole segment. Yeah. I mean, the one thing I
- 51:39Speaker 4: last sing I will say about Drew Brees that I
- 51:42Speaker 4: really wish you would have made tiper with fifty three
- 51:44Speaker 4: or for arrest missing that ni kelby Nikel Roby Coleman
- 51:47Speaker 4: pass interference.
- 51:48Speaker 1: I mean, I know what what are you talking about?
- 51:50Speaker 1: That was?
- 51:51Speaker 2: That was a perfectly legal defensive play by Nikel Roby Coleman.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Completely legal, yeah crime.
- 52:01Speaker 4: Look, I'm always saying this because, like I know, I'm
- 52:03Speaker 4: surrounded by Rams fans in my area. I really wish
- 52:07Speaker 4: that New Orleans he made the Super Bowl because I
- 52:11Speaker 4: argued I was like the worst penalty you probably no
- 52:14Speaker 4: worse no call you probably ever see it. And I
- 52:16Speaker 4: know my city benefited from it. But the rest of
- 52:19Speaker 4: the end of DL community was outraged. But that's like
- 52:21Speaker 4: the last thing I'll say.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Well, well, well except Atlanta.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Atlanta was fine with that because we didn't want to
- 52:26Speaker 2: see New Orleans with the Super Bowl in our stadium.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Like but also important to note in that game Nova,
- 52:34Speaker 2: because you know, some Saints fans want again, they can
- 52:38Speaker 2: go all they want about the no call, which Atlanta
- 52:41Speaker 2: fans believe it was a good no call.
- 52:45Speaker 1: But let's think of it this way. They had the.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Two minute warning and they were in field goal range.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Why are you and keep in mind the Rams had
- 52:55Speaker 2: less than three timeouts coming out of the two minute warning.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Why are you throwing the ball on first down and
- 53:02Speaker 2: ten knowing that an incomplete pass is the same as
- 53:06Speaker 2: giving them a timeout.
- 53:07Speaker 1: That strike one.
- 53:10Speaker 3: In comparison, it's the same thing as throwing the ball
- 53:12Speaker 3: against the Patriots when olvery all you have to do
- 53:14Speaker 3: is run it before you get stripsacked.
- 53:19Speaker 2: I know, but but again, that that strike one for
- 53:22Speaker 2: the Saints fans. Strike number two, your defense had a
- 53:25Speaker 2: chance to stop the Rams from getting the game tying
- 53:29Speaker 2: field goal and forcing overtime. Your defense couldn't do that.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Strike three, and this is the biggest one, which is
- 53:35Speaker 2: why most Falcons fans don't really I mean again, yea,
- 53:38Speaker 2: most Falcons fans were never gonna have sympathy for the
- 53:40Speaker 2: Saints getting screwed in that game. But strike three, the
- 53:44Speaker 2: Saints had the ball first in overtime. If the Saints
- 53:49Speaker 2: scored a touchdown, game was over. You're going to the
- 53:52Speaker 2: super Bowl. And they couldn't even score and the Rams
- 53:57Speaker 2: got that. Was it sixty one yard field?
- 54:00Speaker 1: Was it sixty?
- 54:01Speaker 4: I think it's fifty seven in overtime? Fifty seven?
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah, well it was. It was something like.
- 54:07Speaker 4: That, but yeah, it was seven fifty seven I remember
- 54:10Speaker 4: right now, it's fifty seven.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:12Speaker 2: But outside of that, like I said to you guys,
- 54:17Speaker 2: there are certain players in the NFC South where, even
- 54:21Speaker 2: as an Atlanta Falcons fan, I'm a realist. If I
- 54:25Speaker 2: think that they're a Hall of famer, they're a Hall
- 54:28Speaker 2: of famer. And as much as Drew Brees was a
- 54:31Speaker 2: thorn in Atlanta's side, two things can be true. Number One,
- 54:37Speaker 2: Drew Brees and Matt Ryan single handedly made the Falcon
- 54:40Speaker 2: Saints' rivalry as great as it was outside of the
- 54:44Speaker 2: geographical at impacts of that rivalry. And two, almost every
- 54:50Speaker 2: Falcons fan out there, even though they won't publicly admitted it,
- 54:54Speaker 2: like I am Drew Brees was and now is a
- 55:00Speaker 2: first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Especially since he'd beat out fifteen times and you only
- 55:04Speaker 3: be himy man.
- 55:11Speaker 2: But before we get to the final player, I am
- 55:14Speaker 2: gonna throw this out you Tube, because again I just
- 55:16Speaker 2: said it, Drew Brees and Matt Ryan.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Do you guys think Matt Ryan will be getting a
- 55:22Speaker 1: gold jacket?
- 55:23Speaker 4: I do, but it won't be first ballot.
- 55:25Speaker 3: It won't be first ballot Matt.
- 55:27Speaker 2: And that's what I agree with as well. I have
- 55:29Speaker 2: said Matt Ryan is probably.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Third or fourth year Hall of Famer maybe.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I mean, if he gets in second year, that's incredible,
- 55:40Speaker 2: But if he won that Super Bowl, he would have
- 55:43Speaker 2: been first ballt very simple. If he would have won
- 55:46Speaker 2: the super Bowl, first ballot guarantee. But without that Super Bowl,
- 55:50Speaker 2: I would say.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Third year is probably his best bet.
- 55:57Speaker 3: I would agree with that.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:01Speaker 2: But let's get into it, guys, because we do have
- 56:04Speaker 2: one more player to talk about that got enshrined into
- 56:07Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame, and that would be Roger Craig
- 56:13Speaker 2: from the Super Bowl twenty three champion.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Or not twenty three? Well, what was it that they won.
- 56:20Speaker 4: Nineteen or this is sixteen?
- 56:23Speaker 1: Uh, nineteen. Yeah, so back in the day for this
- 56:28Speaker 1: one for Roger Craig, guys, And to be completely honest,
- 56:35Speaker 1: I didn't really know much about Roger Craig's playing career.
- 56:39Speaker 3: Here four Super Bowls, Yeah.
- 56:44Speaker 2: I mean I really didn't know much about his playing career.
- 56:47Speaker 2: I mean, I'm looking at his stats right now just
- 56:50Speaker 2: so that way I can have a little bit of
- 56:52Speaker 2: extra information on him.
- 56:55Speaker 1: And I mean he had three seasons of at least
- 56:59Speaker 1: a thou yards on the ground, including that nineteen eighty
- 57:03Speaker 1: five season where he was I think he might have
- 57:06Speaker 1: been the first running back in history to get a
- 57:09Speaker 1: thousand yards on the ground in one thousand yards in
- 57:12Speaker 1: the air.
- 57:13Speaker 4: That was gonna say. That's like the first thing that
- 57:14Speaker 4: I remembered about Roger Craig when doing research for this episode.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but outside of that, I honestly didn't know much
- 57:22Speaker 2: about him. Now, granted, I didn't have much information on
- 57:26Speaker 2: the San Francisco forty nine ers at that time. I mean, naturally,
- 57:28Speaker 2: we all remember guys like Ronnie Lott, which he mentioned
- 57:31Speaker 2: in his speech, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, like like the
- 57:38Speaker 2: Big now, Dwight Clark with the catch that broke Cowboys, fans, hearts,
- 57:43Speaker 2: and good fashion.
- 57:45Speaker 1: We might add.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Roger Craig was in fact the first NFL player to
- 57:50Speaker 3: have a one K one K season.
- 57:53Speaker 1: All right, so I was so I was right on that.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Yay.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Uh.
- 58:00Speaker 3: My thing is looking over his stats, because like you,
- 58:02Speaker 3: I was very unfamiliar with Roger Craig as well, because
- 58:05Speaker 3: he was definitely before my time. It looks like his
- 58:08Speaker 3: last year playing was in ninety three and I was
- 58:10Speaker 3: only two years old, so I definitely have no recollection
- 58:14Speaker 3: of this poor you know, Novo over here probably wasn't
- 58:16Speaker 3: even the thought or of glint and his daddy's I was.
- 58:20Speaker 1: I wasn't even I was one of my dad's.
- 58:23Speaker 3: All right, cool, So I had a grandfather group lovely.
- 58:26Speaker 3: So I'm just over here. I'm over here just looking
- 58:29Speaker 3: at the Super Bowl twenty four, is just looking at
- 58:31Speaker 3: it and says I won his third ring when San
- 58:33Speaker 3: Francisco beat the Denver Broncos fifty five to ten.
- 58:38Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and that was like another one of those
- 58:39Speaker 4: blouse Super Bowls that the Niners had.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Which, in all fairness, this is a very fun uh
- 58:46Speaker 2: stat about that every time the Broncos made the Super
- 58:49Speaker 2: Bowl and they wore those Orange jerseys.
- 58:51Speaker 1: They always got blown out phenomenal.
- 58:56Speaker 2: But we do have to take a little bit of
- 58:58Speaker 2: a somber turn, at least with Roger Craig, because I mean,
- 59:02Speaker 2: you guys saw what happened with his speech, right.
- 59:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that's kind of why we saved this thing for
- 59:08Speaker 4: a last because we kind of do need to make
- 59:10Speaker 4: us a little bit of a serious time.
- 59:12Speaker 3: I did not see that. I did not actually look
- 59:15Speaker 3: at the Hall of Fame speeches, so this will be
- 59:18Speaker 3: news to me.
- 59:19Speaker 1: So what happened with his speech? Brandon? Now, at first,
- 59:23Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, there's.
- 59:26Speaker 2: A video being played on the on the screen at
- 59:30Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame ceremony, and they keep panning to
- 59:33Speaker 2: this guy in the crowd, and I'm like, wait a minute,
- 59:37Speaker 2: this is Roger Craig. Why is there a video playing
- 59:41Speaker 2: and not him at the podium talking? And I didn't
- 59:46Speaker 2: make much of it at the time, except for naturally
- 59:50Speaker 2: being like, okay, why is he not at the podium.
- 59:53Speaker 2: This is his time, This is his speech where he
- 59:57Speaker 2: gets to shout out everybody, which again he did in
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: his speech. But apparently during his speech, he announced that
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: he has been diagnosed with vascular dementia. And when when
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: I heard those words, I was again at first I
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: was like, oh, that's why he's not at the podium.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: But it was just so sad to hear that about
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: about this man, because again I didn't know much about him,
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: but it was just like, you have four guys that
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: were able to talk at the podium and this guy isn't.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: Lot.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: I thought maybe there was something that the NFL did
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: where maybe like he submitted a speech or something like
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: that and there wasn't enough time to edit the speech
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: and have it like proof reading set up for the
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: actual broadcast. But for that to happen, man, I felt
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: so sad for him. I felt really sad.
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I would say the same thing, you know,
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: an I guess health concerns, you know, especially now Hall
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: of Famer Rotcher Craig. You know, it's sad to see
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: because like we saw this earlier with the Chris Johnson
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: als thing, but this just adds on to the pain
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: that is the life of a human being and.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: Sports.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: Yeah, and like the only day you gotta say, is
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: I really hope Rocher Craig recovers or at least puts
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: up a good fight against that Dementsia and I really
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: hope for the best.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: I mean, I hope for the best two with with
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Roger Craig. I mean as of today, I mean he
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: is he's only sixty six years old, and he's got
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: UH and he's got dementia, which again, I mean, is
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: that a byproduct of him playing NFL? Maybe a little bit,
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: especially with the fact that back then, you know, defensive
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: players were allowed to take offensive players heads off if
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: they showed shows. I mean nova in the background. You've
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: got a nice white Ravens jersey with the number fifty five.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: At least you have the information to know, like Brandon
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: and I knew that if you were playing against the
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Baltimore Ravens when.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Fifty five was on that defense, just try throwing over
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: the middle of the field, I dare you.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Nowadays it's number zero. Hopefully ro Kwan Smith has to
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: find us back a year this year. But man, anytime
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: you see Torrell Suggs in the linebacking Cord, you had
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: to plan around him.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but Brandon, any thoughts on Roger Craig.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Just looking over his stats, he seemed to be generally
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: a very well rounded player. He definitely seemed to be
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: a very key pivotal piece to that Niners offense, especially
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: there in those three Super Bowl runs in four years,
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: which is as we know from more modern day memory,
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: you know, more modern day memories is very hard to do. So,
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: you know, vascular dementias not quite the same as Alzheimer's
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: considering you know the fact that the dimensional effect is
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: affected more mentally than Alzheimer's would, you know, physically for
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: individual people. So being sixty six with dementias and stuff,
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: it will be a struggle. So hopefully he's got some
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: he's got some good healthcare, you know, good you know,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: health care providers going around for him and you know,
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: helping him at least transition to whatever his life may
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: become as a result of this.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Yeah, So again we send our we send our thoughts
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: and prayers out to Roger Craig and his family. We
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: hope that he lives a full life and gets you know,
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: gets a lot more years on this planet with all
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: the NFL. But at least he can say that he
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: is an NFL Hall of Famer and absolutely deserve to
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: be joining his Fortyers brethren with a gold jacket.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: And that is every day about the Hall of Fame.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Done that is everything with the Hall of Fame, and
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: now we get set for well, actually one final thing
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: with the Hall of Fame, because I am going to
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: pull up the Hall of Fame twenty twenty seven ballot
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: because I just want to talk about some of those players.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: So this is from NBC Sports Boston first ballot potential players.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: We have Gronkowski, we have Adrian Peterson, we have Big Ben,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: you got Richard Sherman, Antonio Brown, Cam Newton, Andrew Whitworth,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Eric Weddle, Gerald McCoy, I've got thoughts on him, Joe Hayden,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Malcolm Jenkins, Brandon Brooks, Dante high Tower, and Ryan Carrigan.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Those are just new players on the ballot, guys.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Because if we're talking about returning finalists, you've got Bill Belichick,
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Eli Manning, Frank Gore, Torelli, Joan re Evans, Jason Witten,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Marshall Yonder, Reggie, Wayne Tory Hold, Willie Anderson, Kevin Williams,
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: and Robert Kraft.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: So, first of all, first of all, for my ball
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: in the pick. With that list, I know we're kind
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: of getting off the subject real quick, you know, kind
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: of know we're just kind of touching on this the
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: fact that Bill Belichick was not a first baut Hall
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: of Famer is fucking insane. I understand. I am one
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: of the people who firmly believe, and I say this
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: as someone who has been a Patriots fan for longer
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: than Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were even a Patriot themselves.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Tom Brady made Bill Belichick. I will die on that hill.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: They happen to work very well together in terms of
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: Brady's offense of mindset versus Bill Belichick's mainly defensive mindset.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Haven't been DC for this for his time in the
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: New York Giants. But they worked very well together. They
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: complimented each other very well. The fact that even given that,
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: the fact that Belichick was not a first about Hall
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: of Famer is insane to me.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: I mean, I think I speak for even Nova on
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: this one when I agree, like, wasn't it wasn't like
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: he missed about like one vote or something like that,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: if I remember correctly.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: In the It wasn't very many votes.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: No, it was it was like super close, and it
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: was just like I remember, like every talking head show
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: was like, how is Bill Belichick not a first bout
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Hall of Famer? Because even with the uh the six
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Super Bowls that they had in New England. People forget
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: he was Lawrence Taylor's defensive coordinator.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: I'm having to assume. And one thing that probably deterred
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: voters away was definitely the tail end of his coaching
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: career where the Patriots were just mediocre and then have
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: those terrible seasons. And I think that might have stay
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: away voters. But still that is crazy to think get out,
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: like the tail end of a career doesn't have to
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: define that he's not a first ballot Hall of Famer
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: because he definitely should have been.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's like an argument that I've made
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: at least comparative, was that people like to because again Brandon,
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: we already know twenty twenty eight, when Tom Brady is
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: up for Enshrinman, we already know number twelve is getting
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: a gold jack, and we already.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Know the first ballot hands down.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: It's like lock stock, barrel, every adjective you can think of.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: But people have to understand that. With Belichick, again, like
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: I said, he had the eight rings. But in the
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: case of Brady, people always liked to break up his
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: career into like thirds. So the first third he wins
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: these super Bowls. The second third he wins these super Bowls.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: The third third he wins these super Bowls. So you
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: can break up tom Brady's career, and he's a Hall
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: of Famer in all three of the However, you want
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: to break it up now and again, this is where
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: the comparison comes in. Why don't we do the same
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: with Barry Bonds MLB. I understand that he took the
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: cream and the clear and all of that, and his
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: head swelled up to the size of a squash. But
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: you have to remember something. And again, Nova, you were
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: you were too young for this. But and by too young,
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: I mean again not existing. But Barry Bonds, before he
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: went to San Francisco, he was a Hall of Fame outfielder.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: In Pittsburgh, he was He had gold gloves, glory. I
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: think he had an MVP or two. He had a
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: couple of batting titles. But we, but the Baseball Writers
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Association of America kept him out of the Hall of Fame.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I get it.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: You don't want to taint the Baseball Hall of Fame
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: with guys that had taken the juice.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: But if we can separate tom Brady's career. Why can't
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: we separate Barry Bonds's career exactly?
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: I guess that's happening for the baseball community to decide
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: on because I've seen mix opinions on both.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Well again again, I mean Barry Bonds.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: In the media world, he was as stoic and problematic
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: as Bill Belichick was.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Like Belichick hate.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: We saw how Belichick barely like to talk to the media,
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Bonds hated talking to the media. But getting back to
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: the NFL Hall of Fame for twenty twenty seven, with
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: all of those names that I listed, who do you
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: guys think should get a call next year?
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: If it's not for eld Size, I don't know what
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: you want me to say, So I think I.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: Think Carl Sogg says I would be very shocked if
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: he wasn't a first ballot Hall of Famer. But I
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: definitely think if he's not first, he's at least second.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: Peterson I think is probably a first ballot Hall of Famer. Uh.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: And this is one bias here talking. So I'm gonna
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: go and throw that disclaimer out here right now. Gronk
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: is the first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I mean again.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Again, this is why I say biased. However, there is
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: one person and this, this is probably gonna be my
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: hot take of the segment. Here, there's one person here
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: that I do not think should even touch a gold
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: jacket until at least his fifth year of eligibility.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: And who is that?
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: And that's Cam Newton.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Okay, okaying tells me that personal patriot bias because I
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: know Can Newton was the patriot at some point.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: No, no, because like, okay, so to touch on that
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: one real quick. So I actually enjoyed seeing Cam Newton
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: as a patriot. I truly did, because he just had
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: the misfortune of doing so during the COVID era. He
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: performed really well for US against Seattle right before he
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: himself went out with COVID, and then after that he
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: was just never the same player. So I did like
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: how he was developing in New England because if you again,
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: if you think about it, think about the history of
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: New England, we historically have never really had a dual threat,
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: much less of mobile QB under center, and Cam Newton
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: was that change in philosophy for us. So that little
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: extra gear that he had in his offense, you know,
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: granted it wasn't the gear that he had in Carolina.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: It definitely changed our offensive, and I started liking what
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: I was seeing until we just didn't see him anymore.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: So I will say I did like seeing him in Carolina,
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: but I don't think he's anywhere near first or second
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: ballot Hall of Famer.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: That's fair enough.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: No, that's definitely fair. I mean, Noby, you said Terrell Suggs,
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: there was a different name, So let's let's throw on
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: your Ravens bias there.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: I mean, I didn't really get to see much of
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: marsall yonda until I started watching. Goodness gracious, the right
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: guard position was just so solidified with Yonder there, and
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: I wouldn't I wouldn't agree, but he definitely should be
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: the women the first three tries. However, there were two
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: names that you mentioned that I think she should be
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: nowhere near a Hall of Fame, and those are Antonio bell.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean that there's
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: a little bit of bias there, Brandon, there's a little
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: bit of bias right there, But.
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: That's not bias. You asking how crazy Antonio Rown is.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: To Brown a psychopath? You like, this is not on
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: this man?
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Well, well, it was hashtag c T ESPN remember that.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: But but again, I mean, look, I'll say Leveon Bell
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: gets in like maybe seventh or eighth chance on the ballot.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: I think Leveon you can make Again, it's the longevity
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: argument with with Leveon, he.
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: Ran Ulf out of Pittsburgh.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but at the same time, and he ran us
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: Olf out of Pittsburgh because of money more so than
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: he ran himself out of Pittsburgh because of talent. But
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: I but I agree with the Antonio Brown he should
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: be nowhere near a gold jacket because he'll not even hell,
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: not only just ruin the prestige that is the Pro
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Football Hall of Fame. He's gonna ruin the prestige as
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: a Hall of fame and shrine and ceremony. You really
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: want to get that man a live mic on ESPN August.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: He would single handedly ring the argument back up, like
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: we mentioned earlier of the Barry Bonds Hall of Fame
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: argument there, that single handedly would revive the Hall of
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: Fame discussions for you know, disgraced players all over again.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Honestly, Antonio Brown with a live mic, that is probably
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: the potential for the biggest shoot promo since CM punk
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: in two thoy and eleven.
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: That's that's the high standard.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: And and and the and the and the and the
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: best part was Punk was actually given permission to go
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: out there and do that shoot promo, but he also
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: knew the wherewithal to not say anything to get ww
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: kicked off the air.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: Antonio Brown might.
- 1:14:20Speaker 6: Actually be the catalyst to get ESPN canceled exactly.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: So, and then I'm sorry, just kind of kind of
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: throw one more take out there. So this is probably
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: all sat Looking at the list of eligible, you know,
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: out of the returning candidates, I do think that there's
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: a name on this list that stands out to me
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: as someone who probably gets in this year. And I
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: think this this might be a shock to some to
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: both the but I think that this is the year
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: that Eli Manning gets his gold jacket. And the only
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: reason that I say that is because of Brady's l
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: chability next year.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: That I could see with with Eli, because I mean,
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: let's be real, Eli Manning is like the catalyst of
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: that whole category of Hall of very Good players, but
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: his two Super Bowl rings, I mean, Brandon would much
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: rather prefer to forget those two games.
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: We don't talk about Brunan out here, but it would.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: It would be funny if Brady and Manning Well got
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: into Hall of Fame at the same time.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: Well, that's that's that's why I think he gets in
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: this year, because I don't think I think they go
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: ahead and give Eli his jacket this year, because we
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: obviously know that, like we said earlier, Brady, it's an
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: absolute luck for the Hall of Fame next year, and
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: just it would if if he doesn't get into the
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: Hall of Fame, it's just gonna be one of those
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: situations at Belichick Hi where he just falls one false
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: one vote shy of being in the Hall of Fame
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: for whatever reason. And we're just gonna say it. Look
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: at it like, I'm sorry, six super Bowls isn't enough. No,
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: he had seven, So I'm saying like he had six
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: with six with New England because that was there. That
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: was their argument with Belichick is you know, six he
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: had six super Bowls with New England wasn't enough, you know.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: And that's in addition to you know, his rings with
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: the Giants and whatnot. But it's that's why I think
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: he like it said this year, is because the next
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: year that spot that's gonna be on Brady for sure.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: Yeah, now, at least from my venus point again, I'll
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: I'll give the locks to Gronk and probably Big Ben
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: as well, because I mean Big Ben. I mean he
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: was the anchor of Pittsburgh for all those years, so
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: and coming from Miami of Ohio two like nobody was
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: expecting Ben Roethlisberger to do what he did for the Steelers.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: And I mean, yes, Antonio Holmes with that toe tap
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: catch in the I think it was the south end
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: zone if I remember correctly, Raymond James Stadium to beat
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: the Arizona Cardinals and that's where where James Harrison has
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: one hundred yard six at the end of.
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: The half and Larry Pasiro had that iconic touchdown too.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Yes, you're right.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Outside of those guys. I'm actually gonna make an argument
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: for Andrew Whitworth to get into the Hall of Fame
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: because again we just mentioned about it with you, mentioned
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: in Nova with Marshall Yonda, how good the right guard
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: position was. Andrew Whitworth was one of the best offensive
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: tackles in the NFL. Like, if you wanted to get
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: a second you were on his side of the line.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Good freaking luck.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: So I'm gonna put my stamp on Andrew Whitworth getting
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: in next year. But much like you guys again, I
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: will say Antonio Broncho had ever been near the Hall
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: of Fame?
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Ie my thanks on Le'Veon bell. Why is Gerald McCoy
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: on this list?
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: I was sitting here kind of wondering the same thing, like, well,
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: obviously like he was, he was a good player, but
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: I don't think he's I don't think he's anywhere near
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: Hall of Fame worthy, like all of the defensive players
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: that I've looked at, you know, since the beginnings of
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: this recording. You know, we've talked about Keikley, We've talked
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: about you know, all these other you know, defensive players,
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: and everybody looked at it.
- 1:18:24Speaker 7: He's just kind of been bottom of the barrel, just
- 1:18:27Speaker 7: literally have everybody so far. It's just I personally don't
- 1:18:32Speaker 7: think he's really that impressive. He had one really good
- 1:18:35Speaker 7: year with Tampa Bay in twenty seventeen where he total
- 1:18:39Speaker 7: twenty six stuffs you know at the line, but outside
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: of that, like his resume is nowhere near somebody like
- 1:18:47Speaker 7: well of what Keighley's.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Is exactly, And I mean, if he was, if this
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: was the hall of stupid takes that you say on
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: ESPN to get a rise out of people, He's a
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: first ballot Hall of Famer, because how that hell does
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: somebody come out and say that you give a soul
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: to get a soul in the sense of signing Bejon Robinson,
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: but lose Jalen Walker, Like, who is so stupid in
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: their right mind? I don't even give a damn that
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: he was in the NFC South.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: There.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: ESPN.
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: No, that's like a terrible first impression.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, ESPN they fired Ryan Clark again.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: Ryan Clark doesn't have the greatest uh takes either, but
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: at least Ryan Clark has some knowledge and some vantage
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: points when he makes his arguments, and he has Cojent
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: beliefs in them.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: Jared McCoy is just an.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: Idiot, and it might have been proving immediately like I was, I.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: Couldn't even believe that this is literally the epitome of
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: the jet fan and Chris Tucker from from Rush Shower,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Do you know I understand the map.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Like it was so stupid with what he with what
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: he's said.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: I'm over here trying to figure out more so Alex
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Mack is on the Hall of Fame ballot.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Now I will at least put uh I mean Alex mac.
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: I will say that it looks like the only thing
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: that he really has going for him is every season
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: that he played. He played a full season.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: Oh so that's worthy now well well, also well, I
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: mean also nova. I mean he was Atlanta center in
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: that Super Bowl run and he did play the Super
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: Bowl I believe with a fracture in his leg.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, he played with a fractured fibula that year.
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Yeah, like he was.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: He was the definition of iron Man for in terms
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: of centers.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd like.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: And again with the Gerald mccortheyin, I pulled up an
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: article from Yahoo's Sports that covered that tweet.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: This is one that I'm not gonna go off on.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Like again, I do believe that Jerald McCoy is an idiot,
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: But I'm not gonna be like this person who wrote, Hey, Jerald,
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: I hope you snap your leg clean off your body
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: so someone on your set stays healthy.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: Soul for a soul Like, I'm not going that far.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: I do believe Jerald McCoy is an idiot for what
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: he said, but I don't believe that he. I mean,
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: look again, I said, Brian Clark got fired, but you
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: kept Gerald McCoy.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: Sol jesus. Now, I just add on know, there's definitely
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: been some interesting choices lately, but I definitely don't think
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: Gerald McCoys it, and I don't think I don't think
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: he's done anything. His resume in comparison to you know,
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: most other people that I have looked up, you know,
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: just like I said, within like this last you know,
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: hour and twenty two minutes has been like he's nothing
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: that he's done as bo Ben stand out compared to others,
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: like in any capacity.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's gonna end the Hall of Fame section, guys.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: We are gonna get into.
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: Some of the extra news and training camp updates, and
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: we're gonna start with this one, guys, because that's the gong,
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: because we got some fives in training camp.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Which what are we starting with? Are we starting with
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: the electrical substation fights?
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: How bad do you hate the forty nine ers right now?
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: I don't hate the forty nine ers. I actually just
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: feel bad for them at this point because this is incredible.
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: But yes, yes, yes, training camp fights.
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: There are two major ones that broke out at least
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: like it turns like our public eye.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: Yes, my favorite one is the Kirk Cousins fight.
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: Yes, yes, I'll start there. Then.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Oh man, and of all the people to get into
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: a fight with, it was Max Crosby.
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: Dude, it's a freaking animal, man, Like, why are you
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: you forget a fight with Are you the best defensive
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: player in the league.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: You're just gonna get up in his face? It's like
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: you like that.
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: I wonder how a random Mendoza is saying this.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: Uh, he's probably He's probably sending them there being like, Okay,
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna write this information Dan because I want to
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: I want to get on the field as quick as possible,
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: and I want to do to Cousins what Michael Pennix
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: did to him.
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but I let me see you quick. So this happened,
- 1:23:54Speaker 4: And this honestly shocked because I thought Raiders camp was going,
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: you know, clean for what it was, and then that
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: whole it's the Raiders. So hold on, let's just scroll in,
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: just sticking through this top of here. When defensive end
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: Max Crosby hit Kirk Cousins twice, and I think this
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: is on a practice snap. The fifteen year veteran had
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: had enough. Cousins gotten in to Crosby's face, grabbing an
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: All Pro s jercy while both exchange worth be word
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: was broken up and then according and then according to
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: UH coach Klick Koopy acting, both were suspended for a
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: day practice. I believe I remember research correctly.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: Yeah they did. Yeah, I remember saying that myself as well.
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: To Allen. You know you saw Kirk Cousins at Atlanta,
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: you know, for better or for worse, But uh, did
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: you expect her cousins to be like that in like
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: practice this early?
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: So from I'll say this from just from my own
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: personal football experience, from from you know, my younger days,
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: is typically if you're running a practice screamage against your
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: own defense, you're trying not to get hit and get
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: hurt by your own defense. So if you're over here
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: getting you know, getting your throwing arm hit by as
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Nova said, as Nova said, one of the best defensive
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: players in the league, it's gonna kind of be a
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: little bit of a frustration me, Like, look, be careful,
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: you almost hurt me twice. Now, Like, like I'm gonna
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: get frustrated too. Because like at this point in time,
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: you're just not playing smart, like you're playing with passion,
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: like you know, you're you're doing your job you're supposed
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: to be. At the end of the day, you're like
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: I think both players kind of lost track to the
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: fact that it's practice.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and honestly, I mean, if there's one thing Kirk
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Cousins took away from the from his time in Atlanta,
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: it's how to fight.
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: I said it in nothing.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: I will say has had a chip on his shoulder
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: since Washington for sure.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: Yeah, just a little bit. But that wasn't the only
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: fight that we had guys in the NFL. And this
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: one hits a little bit closer to Nova Brandon because
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: it was in his own division with Spencer Fano and
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: Jared Verse in the Browns training camp.
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: This was the fries pe because I want to I
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: saw all the media, but like Jared Verse looking forward
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: who was rolling Cleveland and then you're fighting with the
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: first round pick of Jared the Spencer.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: For know throw haymakers.
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm attacking this as well. So where Okay first
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: ripped off Funno's helmet and took him to the ground.
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: According to MLF Football on Twitter. Now, I don't know
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: what Jared Verse was mad at fanoa pout, but that,
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: in my opinion, it's not how you become a role model,
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: and it's not how you become likable around Rocker room.
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: I mean truthfully, like the way now, I forget how
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: this was last year, but I do remember that James
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: Pierce Junior got into a scuffle with Caleb McGarry uh
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: at trying so and technically I don't again, I don't
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: remember what happened to set that one off. But conversely,
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: I will play advocate. If you're gonna have a fight
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: with your players, like your own team players in training camp,
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: that actually could unify the team a little bit because
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: it actually shows like, hey, everybody out here, we're giving
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: it are all and you we might even be willing
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: to fight each other to get where we need to be.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: Fair enough. It's just like, I don't really expect that
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: from a player like Jerry First, who, up until the
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: trade for Miles Garrett, you know, was one of the
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: more promising young defensive players for the Rams, and uh,
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: you know, I know it sucks being a Brown, but
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: I don't know, I feel weird about this one. Especially
- 1:27:37Speaker 4: Spencer Fino again a first round rookie. I don't know
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: how I feel about that.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: I mean, it's all over the place there. But again,
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: that was in camp fights with your own teammates. I
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: can't wait for joint practices because we're gonna be put
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: I put over under five fights.
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: Okay, that's probably fair enough.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: What do you think, Brandon? Over under five fights in
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: joint practices?
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: Are we talking about in general or any fight teams
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: in specific?
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Just in general?
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: So all of every joint practice that is gonna happen
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: in training camp over under five confirmed fights.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: Oh, it's gonna be over five fights for sure, because like,
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: look at it this way, there's gonna be at least
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: I'm I'm gonna put I'm gonna put money on this one.
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: There's gonna be at least two fights alone just and
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: the Patriots joint practice training camps, because we have two
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: days with the Eagles. There's gonna be at least a
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: couple of fights there.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: If it ain't with the players, it's gonna be with
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: the fans.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Or that, or it's gonna be with AJ Brown and
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: his former teammates.
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: Oh that's right.
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: But honestly, again, fights are great and right now, I
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: mean there's no suspensions that happened from fights.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: Some players aren't gonna miss games or anything like that.
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: I mean, are you treuly you not counting the Kirk Cousins,
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: Max Crosby team, this team suspension, I mean.
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: If it's practice, it's it was a team post suspension.
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: It wasn't like an NFL impost.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: But getting back around the NFL, guys, we've got a
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: couple of injuries and we've got a couple of players
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: that sign some money. So let's start with the money,
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: and that is going to be Peter Scornski getting a
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: four year, one hundred million dollar extension with eighty eight
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: million guaranteed. Starting to seem like, uh, Matt bergeron getting
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: his deal with Atlanta a little bit of a little
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: bit of a bargain right now. But to go off
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: on Skorronsky, that guy is one of the best guards
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: in football right now, absolutely freaking deserved.
- 1:29:54Speaker 4: At Yeah, cam Warden's auto helping can get because uh,
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: we went from a good signing for the Titans the
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: aline position and then you have the prior year we'd
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: have one. Are you one of the worst signings and
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: Dan Moore Junior. I still don't know how he got
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: paid that much money.
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: By the way, I don't know that either, But.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: I mean, again, the way Skronsky has played, he is
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: more than deserving of that extension, and that that actually
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: shows that Tennessee is willing to fortify their front to
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: give cam Ward the best chance of success.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: Whatever their definition of success may be.
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: I mean, it's definitely gonna be more than three wins.
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: I'll say four. I can't believe you're hating that low.
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: I'm trying to see cam Ward do something. Come on.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: Yeah, And I mean, I know we spoke about Bajon's
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: deal last week.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: We can at least talk about Jimior Gibbs because he
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: got his deal over the last week, another three year extension,
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: fifty one.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: And a half million guaranteed.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: So I mean, I still think, I still this might
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: be the bias, but I still think Paijian is a
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: better running back from that draft class than jamieer.
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: Well, we'll compare, we'll compare fantasy notes whenever wherever the
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: season ends.
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think it can be said it perfectly
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: last week and uh ironic, I think that happened a
- 1:31:22Speaker 4: day before after week for that session, so that's yeah, probably, yeah, yeah, it.
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: Was literally like the day after we recorded that the
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: Jamior Gibbs deal became official. So again, congratulations to Jamior Gibbs.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: Now he gets to participate in Lions training camp. But
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: now we've got to talk about the under side of
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: training camp news, and that is players are still getting hurt.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: We're gonna start with We're gonna start with the light
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: ones on the injury report. First up Zay Flowers. Now, no,
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: the you got your Ravens knowledge there. It's a quad
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: contusion for Zay Flower, so could have been worse, right.
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it could have been worse. And I'm actually got
- 1:32:12Speaker 4: to follow a little shade at John Harbaugh because you know,
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: Brandon also has a thing where he mentioned about the
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: seventeen take last week with the Giants and John Harball
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: probably be a coploring little it, but this is something
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: John Harbad kind of would never do when people get
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: an injury. He wouldn't disclose it, which is a breprofesshair
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: for a new head coach, Jesse Minter, you know, saying
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: it's a day to day quantitusion, which yeah, it sucks,
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: but day to day injury once. Now did we actually
- 1:32:34Speaker 4: know what it is? It doesn't sound too worrying, especially
- 1:32:36Speaker 4: since they got paid.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just really ironic and unfortunate at the same
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: time that he got hurt after he got paid.
- 1:32:47Speaker 4: Yeah, that's timing, honestly.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's time and honestly. But now let's go a
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: little bit more severe and then we're gonna end the
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: injury note with the most severe, most recently Luther Burden,
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: the third. It looked like he might have had an
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: achilles injury in that video that was shown, but as
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: it turns out, thankfully, it's not an achilles injury.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: It is just a groin injury, probably a hernia.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: But the guy is probably not gonna be available for
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: the first couple of weeks of the regular season. I
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: think they said anywhere from like a three to five
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: week injury, which is unfortunate, especially the fact that he
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: is a powerful wide receiver and having a groin injury
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: with his style of play, it's gonna be pretty tough
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: to come back.
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: From that early.
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: It's one of those injuries for sure that you've just
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: really got to be careful with on a player, especially
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: with really realistically any player but especially if you really
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: value that player as terms of what what they bring
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: to your particular game plan. Because like, let's just say
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: for a sample, he's out the first five weeks of
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: the season. Yeah, let's say they play it safe and
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: they go that Max, you know, five weeks on a
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: three to five time frame. You know, he's out against Carolina,
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: he's out against Minnesota, Philadelphia, the Jets, and the Packers.
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: So not a terrible stretch to be out against. Uh,
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: but I think he would definitely be missed against the
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: Packers for sure, assuming he were to hit that full
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: five weeks. At the end of that, you know, you
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: look at that he comes back, you know, he's good
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: to go at the end of that five weeks. And
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: I say, he catches two tuddies on the Atlanta Falcons.
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: Oh my god, Oh my good. How are we finding
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: these indirect ways to ruffle the feathers? Like we're not
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: even at the point.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: I mean, it's I mean, it's just easy to do that,
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: because again, again we're we're guys. We'd like to to
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: mess with each other on that, but I also.
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: Like to I like to pitch it as well, and
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: that's gonna hurt not only like the Bears receiving because
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: that puts like a heavy emphasis to Rob a Doonsay
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: and Colston Loveland, maybe Cole Comett too, because remember Rulver
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: Burden was underrated last year, and I expect them to
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: be like a clear cut wide receiver too. And I
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: gotta step up in a role in that Bears offense,
- 1:35:17Speaker 4: especially with Ben Johnson, but having him out like three
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: to five weeks, as Brandon said, it's gonna hurt for
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: that stretch for a couple of games. But then once
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: you get back, who knows if Ludford Burden can you know,
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: take some heat off of a Doonsay and Loveland everyone else.
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: I think the Bears have a decent enough receiving corps
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: to where that they can make up for his time
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: out because you know, in addition to you know, him
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: being over there, they also have you mentioned Cole Komett
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: earlier there to tie end position. But they also have
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: just a really good offensive line, especially since they picked
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: up Joe Toney, you know, his former Patriot, former chief two.
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: I believe they're they and you still have DeAndre Swift
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: in the backfield too, so I think they'll be okay. Offensively.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: They're definitely gonna miss that key piece there for a
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: little bit, but I don't think it's gonna be anything.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: It's gonna be too damaging to them in the long run.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: So again, let's hope Luther Burnon gets back quickly. But
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: now we're gonna get into the more severe injuries, and
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: we're gonna start with Laramie Tunsil of the Commanders torn triceps.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: So he is potentially gonna miss a significant portion of
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: the season, and I mean it's possible he might miss
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: the whole season. Two guys, And it's kind of unfortunate
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: that his career has come to this where he fell
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: to Miami at thirteen because of that image of him
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: with gas mask, and then he went so then he
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: went to Houston. He did pretty well in Houston. Now
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: he's in Washington, and now he's not gonna play, which
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: sucks his house.
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: Working really high on Jaydon Daniels this year, and I
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: still am, but it's just like, this is not gonna
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: help Jayden and Daniels at least protect protection wise, because
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: you saw how bad Jayden Daniels was without protection.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I was waiting for Brandon to jump in there.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I was gonna say, like, I still like
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: Jayden Daniels last year, I believe it or not. I
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: one of my friends I have discovered is a very
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: long time Washing, long time Washington fan, which is very
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: they're like Jets fans, they're very hard to find. And
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: He's he's him and I are very big on Jaydeen Daniels.
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: He's he's developing into the league. You know, they they're
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: improving their offensive line as I guess as best as
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: they can. To put that very loosely, I they're definitely
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: with somebody with Tunsil's you know, experience, is definitely a
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: little bit of a loss. But I think they've got
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: enough there to at the left tackle position and it'll
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: still be okay.
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: I help so because I have an extreme buyas for
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: Jaydan and Daniels says, uh, he actually has his high
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: school stadium back calhoona high school named after him.
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there you go. Yeah, guess Mass Pencil Stadium,
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: got it.
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: What I'm not trying to be healthy about the community.
- 1:38:24Speaker 8: This is why I deserve Oh oh yeah. But but yeah,
- 1:38:31Speaker 8: I mean it's unfortunate because again, I also have a
- 1:38:35Speaker 8: little bit of hope for Jadon and Daniels, just like
- 1:38:36Speaker 8: I have hope for Michael Pennis junior. And right now
- 1:38:40Speaker 8: it seems like it's uh, it's really crazy when you
- 1:38:45Speaker 8: think about it. From that draft class, it's Caleb Williams
- 1:38:48Speaker 8: and Drake may Or like the top two. Then you
- 1:38:52Speaker 8: got Jayden Daniels and Michael Pennix in that middle, and
- 1:38:56Speaker 8: then it's every other quarterback and JJ McCarthy.
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: I can't believe, let's out Nicks.
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Every other quarterback.
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: Is not happy had a quarterback. He's like the conback
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: King apparently.
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: Yeah, another quarterback in Denver that has the nickname of
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: the comeback King. I wonder what happened to the last
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: time they had a quarterback like that? I wonder, Yeah,
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: I wonder. But we're gonna we have one final injury
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: to note on this one. And again we said it
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: last week, we're gonna repeat it this week.
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: Does anybody want to win the NFC South another ACL tail?
- 1:39:43Speaker 6: What is going on right now?
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: Especially in the Saints, because at this point in time,
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: this is getting a little insane.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: Ah fuck the Aints.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: Something about bias.
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I had I had to say it at
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: least once. I didn't say it out of respect for
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: Drew Brees, but I'll say.
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: It now, and you'll say it a few more times
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: this season.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: It's okay, as long as it's not on October fifth.
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: That's it's gonna be old man. Away, brother, it's gonna
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: be away.
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: Yeah. But you might like to say, who has that
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: unfortunately turned toward a cl.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: Bottoms that was their offensive lineman, Dylan ray Dunn.
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: Oh, that sucks, especially for the development of Tyler Shuck.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: Yeah, because you know, apparently everybody is on this Shuck wagon,
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: including Lewis Riddick at one point. Uh So that that
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: just shows, you know, people are very high on him.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm high on.
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: I'm high on the fact that he's still through one
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: of the worst passes in the NFL combin's history. Okay, yeah, Now, granted,
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: Tyler Schuck doesn't have to worry about the Alford anymore
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: in the NFC South because.
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: He is now a Buffalo Bill.
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: And I mean we we got some I got some
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: parts in the in our Ruffling the Feather segment on
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: the Buffalo Bills coming up very shortly. But again, I'm
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: not all that sold on Tyler Shuck. And that has
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: nothing to do with me being a Falcons fan. That
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: has to do with I just don't see it with him.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: I really don't.
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: I really don't.
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: Look, you have to do or a really mediocre spesca rattler.
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: What would you rather have?
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with the Tom Grossi line. I think
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: New Orleans would just rather take the meteor.
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: Jesus. I mean their their whole QB room is not
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: the best thing in the world. Like, I just I don't.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: I if I'm looking at the New Orleans Saints, you know,
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: if I'm looking at the rather that whole division, Like,
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: if I'm looking at that, there's not there's not a
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: QB name on the on the list of those four
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: teams that scare me at all.
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: Really, Baker, maybe it doesn't come up to mind.
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: No, no, no, we kidded me. We ate that man
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: alive last year. You kidding me. No, Baker Mayfield does
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: not scare me one bit.
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: Yeah, And it was that game that the Patriots became
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: NFC South champions.
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: Correct, absolutely was, Yes, I will win your division for you.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: It's okay you said that. Let Daddy handle it for you.
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know what the state's future is. You know,
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: they committed to Derek Carr now there here with Rattler
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: and suck. Yeah.
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: Again, like I said, I think they would rather take
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: the meteor.
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: But again, it's just a matter of what the hell
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: is going on with the with the NFC South. I
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: don't get it with all these injuries, season ending and
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: we're we haven't even gone to training camp yet, or
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: I mean training camp. We even got to the first
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: preseason game for the NFC South outside of the Panthers.
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: That's crazy. Yeah, yeah, that has just crazy.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but.
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: I think that's a good transition point, don't you think.
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: Guys?
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, all right, Well we saved the best for last,
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: ladies and gentlemen, because it is time.
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: It's time.
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: It is time.
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: It's time to ruffle some feathers. That siren is.
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: Very loud right now. I would not be surprised if
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: we get swatted.
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: I mean, so far I haven't been because I fairly
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: alt ruffling. The fact I'm somehow avoided.
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: Well, I might be ruffling yours in a little bit.
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: Nova Uh, but Brandon, you get to kick us off, man,
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: What is your ruffling the feathers segment.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: Oh, man, I I've I've alread ruffled a lot of
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: feathers a segment already. I've kinda gotten mine out of
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: the way a little bit earlier today. Uh No, to
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: kind of keep touch on the NFC South. Oh, it's
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: a it's a rough division. It's a rough division. Like
- 1:44:25Speaker 3: there's injuries everywhere. But honestly, I think, and this might
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: not be so much more of a hot take than
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: it is just kind of just looking at everything how
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: it is on paper. I think if the injuries calmed down, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: I think if you know, you know, knock on wool,
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: that there's no more injuries in the NFC South, which
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: you know, we might sit here a joke about it,
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: you know, we might see here, you know you seeing it.
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: We see all these injuries occurring. You know, it does suck,
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: and at the end of the day, we never want
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: even though we're de vision, we never want someone to
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: sit there and you have their career end over a
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: catastrophic injury. You know. At the same time, you know,
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: we want to treat them like we would treat ourselves.
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: We want to go home to our families at the
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: end of every day, so you know, knock on wood,
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: assumeing no injuries, you know, further happen. I think that
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: if he plays to his ability that we know that
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: he has and everything goes well. I think this is
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: Tampa Bay's division by a mile, and I don't think
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: it's close.
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: I think, what's that even.
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: If he is traded, Even if it does get traded,
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: I still think that this is Tampa Bay's division to
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: win because they don't particularly have a difficult schedule. There's there,
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: They're more arguably there. Their schedule difficulty comes closer towards
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: the end of the season. At the same time, if
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: Baker plays to his ability and their defense plays to
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: their ability, you know, regardless of you know where or
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: you know, fetavance involved in this an idiot or Tom
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: Bowles is not an idiot, which more often than not
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: is never going to be the case, because this is
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: fucking Todd Bowles, for God's sakes. Then I think this
- 1:46:14Speaker 3: could easily be in an eleven six year for for
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: Tampa Bay. I think this could basicially be an eleven
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: six year for them.
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: Look as long as Atlanta is twelve and five, I don't.
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: Care eleven If Atlanta goes to if you're saying Alanta's
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: going twelve and five and when we may need a
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: welfare check on you right now, But that's not happening.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: That's not happening.
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: No, I've kept I usually do. Atlanta. Like I know
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: this year, I said ten and seven is like those ceiling,
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: but a generous.
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: Ceiling from a ten and seven season. I think I
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: think it's a below five hundred season.
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: Okay, so the floor, so the floor is below five hundred.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: I think it's below five hundred. I think, you know,
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: because like I know your first five weeks. You know,
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: for Atlanta you have Pittsburgh, Carolina, Green Bay, New Orleans,
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: and Baltimore. I think that's a one in four star easy.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: So as as I've said multiple times, and I will
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: rehash this when we get to when we get to
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: when we get to the week one preview show, which
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: which again we got a couple of weeks for that,
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: but Atlanta can't beat Pittsburgh. And if Atlanta beats Pittsburgh,
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: I will dance an Irish jig in the middle of
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: the street with.
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: Call oh, we gotta see video evidence of that.
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: Yeah or something.
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: There may there may not be cars but there may
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: be an Irish jig in the middle of the street
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: because Atlanta.
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: Can't beat Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh it's a that's not me
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: trying to like, oh looh beverage this.
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: No, it's a legitimate stat The Falcons have not won
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The only times they have beat the
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: Steelers was in Atlanta in the Georgia Dome date. They
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: haven't even beaten them in Mercedes been seeing And the
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: last time Pittsburgh came to Atlanta, Atlanta lost and the
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers didn't even get in the end zone.
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: They dj watt and just kind of just to kind
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: of further my just to kind of further my hot
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: take here, you know. And no disrespect you know you
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: mean in Atlanta if anything like that. I genuinely think
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: Tampa Bay's division to win, because listen to like you
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: have you by week on week eleven, you have again
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: for those who may not have the schedule a hand year.
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: For those listening, it's Pitts at Pittsburgh home against Carolina
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: at Green Bay at New Orleans. The one in three
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: start right there. I think. Then you have home versus
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: Baltimore home versus Chicago home versus the electrical substation fen
- 1:48:56Speaker 3: San Francisco forty nine ers. I don't think you're to
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: play Then you play at Tampa Bay, then you host Cincinnati.
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: I'm sorry, you don't host Cincinnani. That's a neutral location.
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: And then you play Kansas City before your byway?
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: What's the what's that international game?
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Is that Germany Madrid?
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: It's fine? Now, okay, yeah, that's.
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: A really rough tend game stretch.
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: And and and again. I I I want to agree
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: with it, but I think it's safe to say that
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: as long as Atlanta has Bajon, we'll be in every
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: one of those games.
- 1:49:35Speaker 3: Oh no, for sure, I agree. Maybe not in the
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: winning at the end of the game, but you'll be
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: in the game.
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: I mean, it all comes it all comes down to
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: the defense. It just comes down to the defense. But uh, okay, good, good, rough,
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: good topic right there. I mean you kind of pissed
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: off the entire NFC, so not just me too. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: but you have a Brandon'll piss off them as long
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: as they're next to an electrical substation, and after they
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: move away from the electrical substation, he'll still go after
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: them for being anywhere near an electrical substation.
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: Substation.
- 1:50:14Speaker 2: Uh now, Nova, I'm gonna save your segment because I
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: know you. You were talking about this one in the
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: pre show recording, like just us talking about it. But
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: mine is gonna go Brandon, I'm gonna go to your division.
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna go to the AFC East on this one,
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: and mine is on the Buffalo Bills. They were talking
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: all this talk about they want to get out of
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: whatever what was it, high Mark Stadium is what they called.
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: Uh yeah, okay, So they want to get out of
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: high Mark Stadium. They're gonna move into this brand new,
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: state of the art facility, high Mark Stadium.
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: I guess high Markstaum two point zero. I guess, well,
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: the new high Mark Stadium. Well, why don't you guys
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: listen to Atlanta and actually find out how to make
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: a cogent stadium in the.
- 1:51:16Speaker 5: NFL, because Atlanta Stadium, I will say, far and away
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: is the best in the NFL. I don't again, I
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: haven't been to so far, so I know people.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: Oh so fine, as I have like, oh so fi.
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: It's great stadium, brand News Day of the Yard, blah
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: blah blah. And my parents because their Cowboys fans are like, oh,
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: Jerry World's greatest stadium ever. Blah blah blah. Apparently Jerry
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: Road doesn't have bathrooms on the one hundred level. Wow
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: or the first floor is what my mom said.
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: Yeah, the stadium is trash.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: Yeah, But I'm looking at all of these reviews from
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: people who I don't know. It's like a screaming or
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: like a open fan practice like some of these NFL
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: teams do, where they actually like go to their stadium,
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: or like in the case of Atlanta, they went to
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: a local I think it was Lanier High School if
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: I remember correctly, on Saturday night, and Atlanta almost had
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: a live tackling session during that practice, but lightning prevented
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: it from happening. So kudos to Atlanta for being safe.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: But I'm seeing these reports on Buffalo Stadium everything from
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: running out of food. How do you run out of
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: food and you're not even in the regular season yet
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: I can understand it during the regular season, I mean
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: a little bit because I worked in hospitality, But you're
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: running out of food during a scrimmage, a live open practice.
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: What the hell is wrong with your Ken Sessions company?
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: Other things with that stadium. Other things gonna say small scoreboards.
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: You're gonna build two point two billion dollars in the stadium,
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: and you're gonna have what looks to be no better
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: than my television that I'm that I watched NFL games
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: on in your stadium.
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: Like, come on, man, that is horrible.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: You have staircases that are basically the epitome of Stairway
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: to Heaven.
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: All were missing is ac DC to sing that song
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: and apparently.
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: Or maybe it was led Zeppelin again, I look. The
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: point is that the stairway is literally too heavy.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: Uh, But can you.
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: Get corrected by somebody who wasn't even around for some
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: of the things we're talking about.
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: Because when when I when I get heated, I might,
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: I might, I might forget things or miss or misrepresent
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: or whatever. But either way, either way, you have the
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: Stairway to Heaven to the four hundred levels and the
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: pair only the four hundred level doesn't have bathrooms.
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: The four hundred level does not have the bath room.
- 1:54:06Speaker 6: You have to walk down the stairway essentially the hell
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: to go to the bathroom, to walk back up the
- 1:54:12Speaker 6: stairs to have it, which is your seat.
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: Well, not only that, but they were. But whenever they
- 1:54:18Speaker 3: were initially building the stadium, they were telling the you know,
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: the people, you know, Buffalo fans, that seventy percent of
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: the stadium was going to be covered. Yes, guess what,
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: it's not cover at all.
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: Apparently the one hundred and two hundred sections had to
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: go on the concourse because they were getting poured on.
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: And in the fact that apparently at this live practice
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: or whatever, the Bills wore those new Nickel jerseys, which
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: look look the jury the jersey itself. I'm okay with
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: the gray, I'm okay. I know people were like, oh,
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: it looks like a college jersey, and to an extent,
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: I can see that, But the helmet is so so
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: so stupid.
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: It is not even funny.
- 1:55:12Speaker 3: I haven't seen a new helmehall. I'm looking up real quick.
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: Oh my god. I don't pay attention to anything Buffalo
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: for obvious reasons.
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: I do because it's always discourse to see josh Anna
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: La Mark Jackson, and I hate it.
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it's stupid, Brandon, it really is.
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: But the other thing, though, how do you have a stadium,
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: a brand new, state of the art stadium, and you
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: have seats that have obscured.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: View, explain that to it.
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: And again not even in the lower bowl like the
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: one hundred level, you have it in the nosebleed seats.
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: You know, those covered areas that they were touting about
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: Brandon and Nova. There are images of these seats that
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: are so bad you actually lose half of the end zone.
- 1:56:02Speaker 3: Yeah, they're really bad. I mean the seatings and the helmets,
- 1:56:05Speaker 3: so you know, so upgrade. It's definitely nothing about this
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: has been an upgrade because like looking at the helmets,
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: it literally reminds you of the Seattle BattleHawks USL team helmet.
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: Oh my job, the battle Hawks.
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: It reminds me the battle Hawks kind of.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: Look at look at all fairness.
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: Shout outs to the BattleHawks fan base, because those guys
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: come out like shout outs to that. It shows that
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: even though Saint Louis abandoned them, they didn't abandon Saint Louis.
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: They have some.
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: I don't really I much want to say, because I mean,
- 1:56:51Speaker 4: come on, is that like the definition of false advertising
- 1:56:54Speaker 4: or did something in the plants just fall through?
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: Look, I'm saying that the Buffalo Bills were getting boo
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: to every home game, and it may not just be
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: for team performance.
- 1:57:04Speaker 4: I follow someone on Twitter who constantly bashes the Bills
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: just for any small thing.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: Oh it sounds like me, ye sounds it sounds like
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: it sounds like branded there man.
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: But honestly, we're saving the best for last year guys
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: on the Ruffland the Feathers segment, Nova take it away, man,
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: because we know what you want to say about something.
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: So I'm gonna call out USA today on this one.
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: They released a top ten teams lists on their end,
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: and when I first saw it, I was disgusted. But
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: then when Tallan over here Redford the article, I was
- 1:57:46Speaker 4: even more disgusted. So let me find it. Where is it?
- 1:57:50Speaker 4: I know I put it somewhere here. Oh yeah, that's
- 1:57:53Speaker 4: right here. So here is USA Today's top ten teen
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: setting into this season. So you got your foolish with me.
- 1:58:00Speaker 4: The Rams are first, the Seahawks are second. I personally
- 1:58:03Speaker 4: think that's flip. But then again, those two teams I
- 1:58:05Speaker 4: went into are fine. Then you had the Broncos at three,
- 1:58:09Speaker 4: the Bills at four, I think that's overrated, Chicago five,
- 1:58:13Speaker 4: Houston at six that I think is depending on CJ. Stroud,
- 1:58:16Speaker 4: the Niners at seven. Then the Bengals at eight. How
- 1:58:21Speaker 4: does that make sense? The Cowboys at nine, that is
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: at ten? Oh my god, this irks me, like you
- 1:58:27Speaker 4: have no idea, first of all.
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: First of all, and Seattle not being the number one
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: team right now is what irks me. You got, I mean, arguably,
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: you're defending champs should always probably be the first team
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: to look out for unless you have something like it.
- 1:58:46Speaker 3: Just this whole entire team dismantling that happens throughout the season.
- 1:58:49Speaker 3: The Cowboys being in the top ten is I think
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: someone needs a CT scan. They need a pissess, They
- 1:58:58Speaker 3: need a hair at this, they need some want of
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: drug test. If they've got the Niners on the top ten,
- 1:59:05Speaker 3: they're clearly not keeping track of the injury report because
- 1:59:07Speaker 3: holy crap.
- 1:59:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and but wait, this gets better when I okay,
- 1:59:12Speaker 4: because as a Ravens fan, it irks me that they
- 1:59:14Speaker 4: have Cincinnati at eight. But then, but talents sent I
- 1:59:17Speaker 4: had to reading that article, I kid you not. This
- 1:59:21Speaker 4: is what they say about the Bengals, the quarterbacks healthy?
- 1:59:24Speaker 4: He hasn't It leads to the website disposal. I mean,
- 1:59:26Speaker 4: obviously that's obvious because they have Joe jamar Chas and t. Higgins.
- 1:59:29Speaker 4: A Poros defense appears nicely upgraded. I don't think Thatxter
- 1:59:33Speaker 4: Lawrence is enough on an upgrade. You Lostray Hendrickson. To us,
- 1:59:36Speaker 4: there appears to be a golden opportunity to win this division.
- 1:59:39Speaker 4: Basically it's Dallas East. But hold on, this gets better
- 1:59:43Speaker 4: because directly under them, it's literally a copy paste for
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: the Cowboys section.
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: Like what.
- 1:59:50Speaker 3: Yeah, the copy paste on That is what blew in
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: my mind. Except the only big difference is basically it's
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: Cincinnati West for the Dallas Cowboys. Like that's just a laziness.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: But also think of it this way.
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: In this article for USA Today, they had their previous
- 2:00:07Speaker 2: power ranking in the parentheses, the Bengals went from nine
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: to eight.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: The Cowboys went from fifteen to nine.
- 2:00:21Speaker 4: None of that makes sense to chet not see their defenses.
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: I mean, if you ask, if you ask my dad again,
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: my dad is a Cowboys fan. The amount of times
- 2:00:31Speaker 2: that I have heard him say that Dak Prescott is
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: a bad quarterback is insanity because and this is also
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: my dad. He doesn't believe in running the ball. He
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: believes you have to throw the ball every play of
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: the game. He believes running backs should be abolished. You
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: gotta choe double, And that's exactly how he says, you
- 2:00:51Speaker 2: gotta choe double.
- 2:00:54Speaker 4: But the one part that upsets me the most, like
- 2:00:57Speaker 4: if you're arguing that the Bengals are if were the Ravens,
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: they are clearly the better roster, they have the better defense,
- 2:01:04Speaker 4: they had the better offense, They're basically better around that.
- 2:01:07Speaker 4: They're not in the top ten the Yeah, Lamar Jackson,
- 2:01:11Speaker 4: I argue, still better than Joe Burrow.
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: I mean, has Joe Burrow won an MVP?
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: No?
- 2:01:17Speaker 4: And I still okay, this is how to do fissed
- 2:01:19Speaker 4: me oh so much. He should have won that MVV
- 2:01:21Speaker 4: with Josh Allen that third one.
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: Thought.
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: I'm not gonna touch it on with the ten football
- 2:01:30Speaker 3: right now, but.
- 2:01:33Speaker 4: Again I'm just still I feel disrespected as a Ravens.
- 2:01:37Speaker 4: I feel USA today. I think it's been disrespectful.
- 2:01:41Speaker 3: I think USA Today just doesn't know what the hell
- 2:01:43Speaker 3: we're talking about, honestly, because like even in all of
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: this to be complete, like this is biased talking, where's
- 2:01:49Speaker 3: the Patriots in this list? Like, I'm sorry, you just
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: had a team that just went to the Super Bowl. Yeah,
- 2:01:54Speaker 3: we got shredded by a team who on paper and
- 2:01:57Speaker 3: in person was just a really good man Chuck for
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: you know, for you know, we were there a good
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: matchup for them, like they treaded us like you know,
- 2:02:05Speaker 3: Sam Darnold, but like like they had, they had a
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: good matchup against us all around. They truly did they
- 2:02:11Speaker 3: truly did it.
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: But so going off that, Brandon, just sorry to interrupt you. Uh,
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: the Patriots came in at eleven and they dropped out
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: of the top ten.
- 2:02:23Speaker 3: See that's insane. You're right. How are you going to
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: take a team that just made a Super Bowl run
- 2:02:28Speaker 3: and you're gonna put somebody like the fucking Dallas Cowgirls
- 2:02:31Speaker 3: in there?
- 2:02:34Speaker 1: Yet?
- 2:02:34Speaker 4: Matter yet, the Niners Bengals alliance because like I could, look,
- 2:02:38Speaker 4: I do believe. I want to believe in the allions,
- 2:02:40Speaker 4: I really do. But my issue with the allions is consistency.
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: Like I get the Texans being in there, because the
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: Texans defense was terrifying last year, like they were.
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: There what well, no, I was gonna say the Texas, Yes, yes,
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: they wore.
- 2:02:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that were like as I said this, probably depending
- 2:02:58Speaker 4: on CJ. Stroud, but that's probably the right spot.
- 2:03:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, And you know that was my only
- 2:03:03Speaker 3: concern during the Patriots. You know AFC run to the
- 2:03:06Speaker 3: Super Bowl was the Houston Dexans, and then you know,
- 2:03:09Speaker 3: we may play the game we did sure, you know,
- 2:03:11Speaker 3: you know passes the past. For the most part. The
- 2:03:15Speaker 3: list is criminal. It's just this, this list doesn't really
- 2:03:19Speaker 3: make any sense.
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm just gonna throw uh because I know
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: Nova brought him up on the Lions. This is the
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: Lions blur. The quarterback is healthy, he has an elite suite. Okay,
- 2:03:35Speaker 2: let me yeah, I know, I know, like that that
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: was great. She has an elite suite of weapons at
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: his disposal. But that defense is just a mess of
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: injuries and turnover at the moment, though, Jared goffin co
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: should keep this team in the running, and probably to
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: a better degree than the twenty five Bangals are Cowboys?
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: Am I reading a USA Today article? Am I reading
- 2:03:57Speaker 2: Mike Florio's power rank?
- 2:03:59Speaker 3: This is like my Florio?
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: This does sell my my Florio.
- 2:04:05Speaker 3: I wonder I who wrote this article?
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: Nay, it was written by Nate David and going off
- 2:04:14Speaker 1: the Patriots one.
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: Like I told you, Brandon, this is the Patriots blur.
- 2:04:17Speaker 2: The AJ Brown Drake May connection is taking time to materialize,
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: but that's what training camp is for. The offensive line
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: also underwent needed modifications, and first round offensive tackle Kleb
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: low Move is waiting in the wings. But the AFC
- 2:04:31Speaker 2: shams are otherwise largely running it back, though they won't
- 2:04:34Speaker 2: sneak up on anyone in twenty twenty six, nor feast
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: on a soft schedule.
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: Now, okay, okay, schedule, Yeah, we have very ethical schedule.
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: Like here's a here's another list, right, I went look
- 2:04:47Speaker 3: at it just for reference. I'm looking at sharp Football
- 2:04:49Speaker 3: analysis dot com. It's one of the things I randomly
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: looked up.
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:04:52Speaker 3: Their power rankings as of this was the last updated
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: in July, July twenty seventh, and I still hate this
- 2:04:58Speaker 3: is probably this list makes more since still than what
- 2:05:01Speaker 3: that USA Today list does. So in order from their
- 2:05:04Speaker 3: top ten is Rams, Bills, Seahawks, Packers, Chargers, Broncos, that Texans, Ravens, Eagles, Patriots. Again,
- 2:05:18Speaker 3: why this list was last updated in July, and I
- 2:05:25Speaker 3: still think I'm just saying that this list makes more
- 2:05:27Speaker 3: sense than what USA Today put out.
- 2:05:29Speaker 2: I would agree with that because and again, look, I
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: could go off on the fact that Nate Davis put
- 2:05:35Speaker 2: Atlanta at twenty.
- 2:05:37Speaker 3: Five, I mean twenty eight on this list.
- 2:05:44Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, I mean, you.
- 2:05:46Speaker 1: Know, actually I'm also looking at this, so at least
- 2:05:52Speaker 1: for the the NFC South, Literally, the.
- 2:05:55Speaker 2: Best team, according to Nate Davis is the Saints. This
- 2:05:59Speaker 2: attack should be more entertaining than it's been at any
- 2:06:02Speaker 2: point since Breeze retired. Keep an eye on Jordan Tyson
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: as a Rookie of the Year dark horse. I've been
- 2:06:08Speaker 2: hearing some things about Jordan Tyson, so that's fair. But
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: listen to the others in the Let me just read
- 2:06:16Speaker 2: twenty through twenty five's blurbs for this, and then we're
- 2:06:19Speaker 2: gonna because Nova, I know you want to know about Baltimore.
- 2:06:22Speaker 2: Where's Baltimore on a Davis' list? Twenty one Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: Could this be the organization's first sub five hundred entry
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: since two thousand and three? Gonna invoke our Fifth Amendment
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: right to remain silent? Eas That really sounds like Florio
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: wrote that because.
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: He's a Steelers fan. But Buccaneers at twenty second.
- 2:06:46Speaker 2: Time was when eight wins was good enough to get
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: you a division crown, But time is question mark. Eight
- 2:06:53Speaker 2: wins could now signal an average team that could be
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: inviting a major change of direction, including a quarterback, depending
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: on the progression of the franchisees relationship with Baker Mayfield.
- 2:07:03Speaker 2: That's twenty two, twenty three New York Giants young team,
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: young quarterback heighten expectations that maybe need to be tempered
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: to touch. Watch out for Isaiah Likely twenty.
- 2:07:17Speaker 4: Four Watch that one. I got you gotch for? I
- 2:07:18Speaker 4: say I likely.
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: Twenty four Carolina Panthers young team, young quarterback, heightened expectations
- 2:07:26Speaker 2: that maybe need to be tempered to touch. Watch out
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: for Jonathan Brooks. Deja vu? Did I not just say
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: that with the Giants.
- 2:07:36Speaker 4: Look, I'm just gonna point this out three three twenty five.
- 2:07:39Speaker 4: This sounds like copypaste behavior, and as a journalist, I
- 2:07:42Speaker 4: dread this.
- 2:07:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, this is just l This is a lazy journalism.
- 2:07:49Speaker 1: This is lazy journalism.
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: And again, I said Atlanta twenty five, this is what
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: he wrote saquon part two. It's fabulous, that's sublime running back.
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: But Jean Robinson is now making what he's worth. If
- 2:08:02Speaker 2: only he could play with the team that was worth
- 2:08:05Speaker 2: his while.
- 2:08:07Speaker 4: I mean that's accurate. Oh come on, yeah, Like look again,
- 2:08:13Speaker 4: Drake lond the great player, Kyle Pitts great player, but
- 2:08:15Speaker 4: Sean Robbinson great player. What else.
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: James fears junior great player if he can get if
- 2:08:22Speaker 2: he can get his head out of his ass.
- 2:08:24Speaker 4: I'm more referring to the offense.
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: But yeah, okay, fair that yeah, okay, yeah, that's fair.
- 2:08:35Speaker 2: But Nova, you did want to know about the Ravens
- 2:08:39Speaker 2: and according to uh So Brandon, you said the Ravens
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: on uh sharp football was what ninth if I remember correctly.
- 2:08:47Speaker 3: Eighth or nights.
- 2:08:48Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's accurate in my opinion, that's accurate.
- 2:08:51Speaker 2: I mean yeah, I would say Baltimore is like a
- 2:08:54Speaker 2: low and top ten team. According to Nate Davis, the
- 2:08:59Speaker 2: Baltimore Ravens are thirteen down from eleventh.
- 2:09:04Speaker 4: Seriously outside the top ten.
- 2:09:07Speaker 2: What and the blurb is the return from injury of
- 2:09:13Speaker 2: defensive lineman Nond Matabuke and from tragedy Kaleis Campbell. Because again,
- 2:09:20Speaker 2: all that with Kaleis Campbell provided more good training camp
- 2:09:25Speaker 2: vibes to a team looking for a strong post hardball rebound.
- 2:09:32Speaker 4: I don't feel doesn't have justice because again we kind
- 2:09:34Speaker 4: of knew about a BK was coming back from an
- 2:09:36Speaker 4: injury from the populist and Campbell does bring in veteran
- 2:09:39Speaker 4: in presence, but how do you fail to mention Lamar Jackson,
- 2:09:43Speaker 4: Derrick Henry Say Flowers for Shot Bateman hot shot rookie
- 2:09:46Speaker 4: to Kobe Lane. I mean I've heard hearing stories as well.
- 2:09:49Speaker 4: I from training Cat that Mark Andrews is on downfall,
- 2:09:51Speaker 4: Ronnie Stantley should be back from injury. What else ro
- 2:09:55Speaker 4: Kwan Smith, I'm hoping he has a bounced back year.
- 2:09:57Speaker 4: You know, there's no hype between the secondary. With Kyle
- 2:09:59Speaker 4: Hamill's and obviously being one of the best safeties.
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: I wanted him so bad. I wanted him so bad.
- 2:10:07Speaker 4: And then the corners Nate Wiggins and Malachi Starts also
- 2:10:11Speaker 4: coming into their own and it's like, you really think
- 2:10:14Speaker 4: they're not top ten worthy with all that talent. You
- 2:10:16Speaker 4: think Cincinnati is a top ten talent with a lack
- 2:10:20Speaker 4: of defense what.
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: So? Yeah, No, I think that's definitely crazy, for sure.
- 2:10:27Speaker 3: It's it's there's some crazy top ten takes out here.
- 2:10:31Speaker 4: For sure, we'll get ours, Like when the time comes,
- 2:10:34Speaker 4: don't worry.
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well yeah we'll we'll we'll get our uh,
- 2:10:39Speaker 2: we'll get our predictions and all that and our own
- 2:10:42Speaker 2: power rankings.
- 2:10:43Speaker 1: When when that time comes.
- 2:10:45Speaker 3: So so real quick. I know, I know we kind
- 2:10:47Speaker 3: of wanted to close out on Baltimore, But I've been
- 2:10:49Speaker 3: thinking about something all way, and this is kind of
- 2:10:50Speaker 3: be a little bit of a curveball for you too,
- 2:10:52Speaker 3: because I've not mentioned it at all so earlier this week.
- 2:10:55Speaker 3: I want to kind of dive into and pick a
- 2:10:58Speaker 3: few minutes to kind of dive into the world of
- 2:11:00Speaker 3: college football here for a second, since that season is
- 2:11:02Speaker 3: also upon let's they we're all equally excited for that one.
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: I want to talk about something that a lot of
- 2:11:08Speaker 3: people may not really know about because it's not really
- 2:11:10Speaker 3: been news. It's kind of been brushed under the rug
- 2:11:12Speaker 3: a little bit. There is a defensive lineman from Western
- 2:11:16Speaker 3: Kentucky University who lost his scholarship. The college cut his
- 2:11:23Speaker 3: scholarship last week. Well as it's been longer than it's
- 2:11:27Speaker 3: been longer than last week. It's it's just recently come
- 2:11:29Speaker 3: into the news, right his mother passed away now unexpectedly
- 2:11:34Speaker 3: in April. You know, thoughts and prayers to the Vaka family,
- 2:11:37Speaker 3: you know, for you know, for this particular time, because
- 2:11:39Speaker 3: I know that's I'm sure that's difficult for a lot
- 2:11:41Speaker 3: of people. And he told the college, Hey, I'm going
- 2:11:47Speaker 3: to go home to California and I'm going to spend
- 2:11:51Speaker 3: time with my family. College said absolutely, okay, go for it.
- 2:11:57Speaker 3: Be back by June. Right. A few days before June
- 2:12:03Speaker 3: came around, he got a communication from the assistant coach
- 2:12:08Speaker 3: that said, actually, you're not needed back. We're cutting your scholarship.
- 2:12:16Speaker 3: This man was very This man was highly touted as
- 2:12:20Speaker 3: a defensive lineman for Western Kentucky. He was very good,
- 2:12:27Speaker 3: and because even though he was told, hey, don't come
- 2:12:30Speaker 3: back until June, allegedly on May twenty eighth, he received
- 2:12:34Speaker 3: a communication back from his from an assistant strength coach,
- 2:12:38Speaker 3: I'm sorry May twenty six looking at this and said
- 2:12:42Speaker 3: that he was flagged with a failure to report designation,
- 2:12:47Speaker 3: even though he has cleared and on paper communication of hey,
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: be back by June. And because of his failure to
- 2:12:57Speaker 3: report designation, he can no longer sign or go to
- 2:13:02Speaker 3: another college to play football because of this. Oh my god,
- 2:13:10Speaker 3: there are so many other schools that want this kid
- 2:13:14Speaker 3: because of how good he is at his job already,
- 2:13:18Speaker 3: and he cannot even sign with another school because WKU
- 2:13:21Speaker 3: decided to fuck him over.
- 2:13:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm reading this article right now from CBS Sports.
- 2:13:29Speaker 2: On him, and it says that he that he flew
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: home in early April and he he told I guess
- 2:13:37Speaker 2: CBS Sports he always planned to return to Weshington, Kentucky
- 2:13:40Speaker 2: because I guess he really liked the program, he liked
- 2:13:44Speaker 2: his coaches. But it says here that the assistant strength
- 2:13:48Speaker 2: coach provided him a summer worked out plan. How are
- 2:13:52Speaker 2: you gonna provide a player with a workout plan and
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: then you're gonna say, eh, screw you, We're taking away
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: your scholarship.
- 2:14:02Speaker 3: Exactly, so you have if that's suitable, you gotta do it.
- 2:14:07Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely, Like this is going straight to the
- 2:14:10Speaker 3: n C Double A for sure. Like he's he's already
- 2:14:13Speaker 3: he's already filed an injunction against you know, against the
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: n c Double A so that way he can try
- 2:14:19Speaker 3: and join another roster before his football season would have
- 2:14:24Speaker 3: to begin this year. And like if he doesn't get in,
- 2:14:27Speaker 3: like imagine, you have this promising talent for the you know,
- 2:14:31Speaker 3: for the future of the NFL, you know, suddenly have
- 2:14:34Speaker 3: his career absolutely squashed just because he went home to
- 2:14:40Speaker 3: visit a family member who passed away. Like, imagine the
- 2:14:44Speaker 3: precedent that this is going to set for in a
- 2:14:46Speaker 3: for people who want to potentially play in the NFL
- 2:14:48Speaker 3: in the future, much less go through college football to
- 2:14:51Speaker 3: get into the NFL.
- 2:14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and apparently he did file an appeal, but the
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: n c A, the n c double A denied it.
- 2:15:00Speaker 3: And oh they denied it. Oh I did not see that.
- 2:15:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why there's the lawsuit.
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: Apparently, according to this they Western Kentucky helped him file
- 2:15:14Speaker 2: a legislative relief waiver, but essentially the institution was filing
- 2:15:19Speaker 2: a waiver against itself. So they're filing a waiver in
- 2:15:24Speaker 2: support of a student athlete that is going against something
- 2:15:27Speaker 2: that they ultimately said that they're not going to do,
- 2:15:30Speaker 2: which is entering him into.
- 2:15:32Speaker 1: The poor.
- 2:15:35Speaker 3: Interesting. Sounds like they're trying to save themselves, I guess,
- 2:15:41Speaker 3: for lack of a better term.
- 2:15:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean it's still like the damage is done.
- 2:15:47Speaker 1: The damage is done.
- 2:15:48Speaker 2: And again, I hope that this lawsuit helps get Victory
- 2:15:53Speaker 2: Vodka to play his senior season because I mean, I'll
- 2:15:57Speaker 2: have to look at his tape or whatever. Honestly, I
- 2:16:01Speaker 2: this is the first I'm hearing about this incident.
- 2:16:05Speaker 4: So same here.
- 2:16:06Speaker 3: That's why I said, you know, that's what I said.
- 2:16:07Speaker 3: It seems to have been something that's been brushed under
- 2:16:09Speaker 3: the rug lately. Like obviously there's been reporting on it,
- 2:16:12Speaker 3: but it's not been news like anything else in a
- 2:16:15Speaker 3: college upcoming college football world has.
- 2:16:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just like ye like yeah, because like Western
- 2:16:20Speaker 4: Kentucky at think it's like a lower you know, popular
- 2:16:23Speaker 4: hized school in Division one football if I remember correctly,
- 2:16:26Speaker 4: you know, they're not like in the top end of
- 2:16:28Speaker 4: Division one. But that just sucks. It's like, what do
- 2:16:31Speaker 4: you mean you just had to like come back about
- 2:16:34Speaker 4: like knowing and you didn't like apparently it was a
- 2:16:37Speaker 4: communication problem that was already solved or something like what,
- 2:16:40Speaker 4: I don't know what's going on.
- 2:16:41Speaker 2: No, apparently they waited a whole Kentucky apparently waited a
- 2:16:46Speaker 2: whole month to check on him.
- 2:16:49Speaker 3: Yep. So looking at looking at the general ranking for him,
- 2:16:53Speaker 3: he was rated as a three to four star prospect
- 2:16:56Speaker 3: coming out of high school, and as far as his
- 2:17:00Speaker 3: position ranking is concerned, he was rated as the number
- 2:17:02Speaker 3: eleven defensive tackle in the country by major recruiting databases.
- 2:17:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so, according to the article.
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: By the school doing this waiver, it put institutions between
- 2:17:19Speaker 2: a rock and a hard place. They may want to
- 2:17:21Speaker 2: support a student athlete getting that additional thirty day window,
- 2:17:25Speaker 2: but doing so also means that they're admitting to their
- 2:17:28Speaker 2: own Level three violation by impermissibly removing the student athletes eight.
- 2:17:34Speaker 2: So while WKU might have actually put forward a good
- 2:17:38Speaker 2: faith waiver to request of the NCAA to allow vodka
- 2:17:42Speaker 2: enter the portal as they don't want this vodka to
- 2:17:46Speaker 2: stay at WKU, but also can't or don't want to
- 2:17:50Speaker 2: admit to a violation that they impermissibly removed the student
- 2:17:54Speaker 2: athletes a. So apparently his case illustrates a gap in
- 2:17:59Speaker 2: the current system because WKU moved on from him months
- 2:18:03Speaker 2: after the transfer portal closed. By classifying his departure as
- 2:18:07Speaker 2: a disciplinary matter, the school prevented him from using the
- 2:18:11Speaker 2: NCAA's aid cancelation exception.
- 2:18:16Speaker 4: Wow, speechless.
- 2:18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, there, we're gonna have to get more information on this,
- 2:18:26Speaker 2: uh for the for the probably like the next episode
- 2:18:28Speaker 2: if we wanted to continue this discussion for sure. Uh,
- 2:18:35Speaker 2: But honestly, guys, that is gonna end episode three of
- 2:18:41Speaker 2: The Ruffling. The Feathers Podcast and before we sign off, guys,
- 2:18:45Speaker 2: I think it is best that we thank again all
- 2:18:48Speaker 2: of the listeners who have been supporting us through the

- 2:19:08Speaker 4: just sticking around. You know, I know this is not
- 2:19:11Speaker 4: going to be a longer episode than what we would
- 2:19:12Speaker 4: normally be planning, but that's because you know, we curb
- 2:19:15Speaker 4: all a lot, and we app sessions are apparently a thing.
- 2:19:18Speaker 4: So welcome to the world of podcast in.
- 2:19:21Speaker 1: Welcome to the world of podcasting.

- 2:19:30Speaker 3: as well that have also tuned in to listen to it.
- 2:19:33Speaker 3: You know, if anybody knew that's local maybe listening versus
- 2:19:35Speaker 3: everybody else. Definitely, thank you. It's been a great start
- 2:19:38Speaker 3: and we're hoping to just go up and improve from here.
- 2:19:42Speaker 1: You guys are absolutely right there.
- 2:19:44Speaker 2: But ladies and gentlemen, for my co hosts, Brandon Escanta
- 2:19:47Speaker 2: and Supernova, I am talent asked Jay, we hope we've
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: ruffled your feathers and we can't wait to ruffle them
- 2:19:55Speaker 2: some more next time, say you,
