- 0:08Speaker 1: But I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no, guests,
- 0:27Speaker 1: your presences presents enough. I already had too much stuff,
- 0:35Speaker 1: So how do you dare.
- 0:36Speaker 2: To surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Welcome to I said, no gifts. I'm Pritchard winegar, I'm
- 0:55Speaker 3: drunk as usual for here in the studio. I what's happening.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I saw some new birds in my house today and
- 1:04Speaker 3: I didn't let that stop me from getting here. My
- 1:08Speaker 3: mom still has not returned my phone call from yesterday,
- 1:10Speaker 3: so I assume we're over. Last week, I had to
- 1:14Speaker 3: rent a car. We rented a Dodge charger. If you're
- 1:17Speaker 3: not familiar with a Dodge charger, it's kind of the
- 1:21Speaker 3: car you buy to let people know that you have
- 1:22Speaker 3: a jukebox in your basement. And so if anyone saw
- 1:27Speaker 3: me driving, I was in the passenger seat. If you
- 1:30Speaker 3: saw me driving around, that's the real me. No, we
- 1:32Speaker 3: have the Patreon. What do I always say like that,
- 1:35Speaker 3: like it's a sad thing that we've got the Patreon.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Join us on the Patreon. We're having the time of
- 1:40Speaker 3: our life. I just bought a dress from Whitney Rose
- 1:43Speaker 3: on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. If you want
- 1:46Speaker 3: to see me in the dress, I mean that alone.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Over on Patreon, I'm doing all kinds of things, bonus episodes, etc.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Come on over. Can we get into the podcast? I
- 1:59Speaker 3: love today guest. Everybody loves them. It's Christine and Zandy Schieffer.
- 2:03Speaker 3: You're too welcomed. I said, no gifts.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Such an honor.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I you know, I have so much to talk about
- 2:10Speaker 3: and so little to talk about. I don't know how
- 2:13Speaker 3: you two are in town for just a few days, correct.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I just do need to hear about the birds though?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Is that No, they're outside the house. I think they're
- 2:21Speaker 3: making a nest.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It's a threat, It's what it is.
- 2:24Speaker 3: It's an absolute threat to me. You know. I was
- 2:26Speaker 3: leaving to come to the podcast, and I saw these birds,
- 2:29Speaker 3: and I thought, should I get up on the roof
- 2:32Speaker 3: and deal with them now? And I thought, that feels
- 2:34Speaker 3: like on the roof. That feels like that.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It's like a jump to here to one hundred.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yes, this crossed my mind, and I thought, well, no,
- 2:42Speaker 3: I have a schedule. Listeners have tried to diagnose me
- 2:45Speaker 3: with ADHD and things like this where I'm like, oh,
- 2:49Speaker 3: I'm supposed to be going to my job right now,
- 2:51Speaker 3: and I'm thinking about getting on the roof to deal
- 2:52Speaker 3: with birds. Could be a signal that there's something going on, and.
- 2:57Speaker 2: We would have understood if you got a message like
- 2:59Speaker 2: there was a bird. I was like, got it understood,
- 3:01Speaker 2: No more words needed.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Her hat goes on the roof and she has to
- 3:04Speaker 4: go chase after it.
- 3:05Speaker 3: She doesn't go on the roof. What you do when
- 3:08Speaker 3: the cat's on the roof pebbles on it? I tried that.
- 3:13Speaker 3: It's idea.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I just mostly post about it and then get in
- 3:16Speaker 2: big trouble with people who are like, I can't believe
- 3:18Speaker 2: you would let your cat on the I'm like, I
- 3:19Speaker 2: didn't do it on purpose. You're not put him there.
- 3:23Speaker 3: People are getting after you. Stop wagging your fingers.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Wagging me how often on the room. Maybe he's saving
- 3:30Speaker 2: me from all these birds nests that are allegedly being
- 3:33Speaker 2: built in my vicinity. I don't know, Listen, he's just
- 3:36Speaker 2: he likes to be free.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I feel like a roof is a perfectly natural place
- 3:39Speaker 3: for a cat to you cat on.
- 3:43Speaker 2: We've got a cold sleep, roof.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we've got theater based around the concert.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It must be interesting at some level.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Is your cat an entirely outdoor cat?
- 3:53Speaker 2: No, he's not supposed to be out there at all.
- 3:55Speaker 3: He's really the beginning of.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah problem he's he's yeah, he's a big problem. He
- 4:00Speaker 2: he's lived many lives, I think, and he's dark energy.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, dark energy in way. Well he's known as the
- 4:06Speaker 3: Old God.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, he's just ominous.
- 4:08Speaker 3: His vibes.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Oh, my little sister named Hi that when she was
- 4:11Speaker 2: a kid, and we all went.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Oh, that's a scary thing to hear from a child.
- 4:14Speaker 2: We thought, well, we're not going to mess with that. So,
- 4:16Speaker 2: oh boy, when he gets on the roof, none of
- 4:18Speaker 2: my business, you know, that's true.
- 4:19Speaker 3: What's his name?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Juniper? We thought he was a girl, and then we
- 4:23Speaker 2: didn't want to be transphobic and like change. And then
- 4:25Speaker 2: the vet was like this, these are testicles, and we
- 4:28Speaker 2: were like, oh, okay, well we're not going to change
- 4:30Speaker 2: a name. Like and then he became the Old God
- 4:32Speaker 2: and now Juniper doesn't quite fit the vibe.
- 4:34Speaker 3: But Juniper is a nice gender neutral name, I say, yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 3: and it does feel a little Old God issue, true
- 4:41Speaker 3: kind of an old god of the American West from LA.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I think, right? Yeah, is he a rescue from La?
- 4:49Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 4:49Speaker 3: How did that happen? We used to live We used
- 4:51Speaker 3: to live here. Oh yeah, let's get off bus, am
- 4:55Speaker 3: I right now? We revealed we're in Las Vegas.
- 4:58Speaker 2: We didn't live there. We've been there, who know, we
- 5:01Speaker 2: haven't lived there?
- 5:02Speaker 3: Okay, So he was rescued from LA and then was
- 5:04Speaker 3: dragged back to Ohio.
- 5:06Speaker 2: That's where all the problems began.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Actually Kentucky for her. Oh, technically it's worse.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Technically, Oh boy, I know we.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Have to make that distinction because I don't want people
- 5:15Speaker 4: to think I live in Kentucky.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Because I don't.
- 5:17Speaker 2: He lives ten minutes for me.
- 5:18Speaker 3: But yeah, right across the river. Wow, and this is
- 5:21Speaker 3: a big problem between the two of you.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so glad we're here to discuss.
- 5:25Speaker 4: When you grow up somewhere where Kentucky has looked down upon,
- 5:29Speaker 4: and then your sister moves to Kentucky, you get very confused.
- 5:32Speaker 3: My niece is from Kentucky. Oh, I just trash, Kentucky trash.
- 5:36Speaker 2: He's four years oldest, complete, not living under that tin roof.
- 5:40Speaker 4: It's like it's dilapidated everything.
- 5:43Speaker 3: It's just awful. I'm not familiar. I've never been to Kentucky.
- 5:46Speaker 3: I want to hear some horrible things about Kentucky. I
- 5:49Speaker 3: don't know a couple of nice things. What's so wrong
- 5:52Speaker 3: with Kentucky?
- 5:53Speaker 2: What isn't going on in Kentucky?
- 5:54Speaker 4: Going to school in Cincinnati, growing up there, high school
- 5:57Speaker 4: and everything. If you're from Kentucky for some reason, that's
- 6:00Speaker 4: a negative.
- 6:00Speaker 3: So you just kind of like you just don't like it.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Same was Ohio, Michigan. You were born not to like
- 6:05Speaker 4: it certain places.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I feel not good.
- 6:08Speaker 2: That's a very limited perspective. And like, after you know,
- 6:11Speaker 2: living in this expansive town of Los Angeles, I would
- 6:15Speaker 2: have thought you'd like broaden your horizons a little bit.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And we went to private Catholic school, which is a
- 6:19Speaker 2: big part of our problems also, Okay, and I feel
- 6:21Speaker 2: like the fact that you're still judging where I live
- 6:24Speaker 2: based on our outdated Catholic upbringing is a little problematic
- 6:29Speaker 2: for me.
- 6:31Speaker 4: I'm two years younger, so I'm still processing. My therapy
- 6:34Speaker 4: is a little bit behind. Right. Let me get there,
- 6:36Speaker 4: give me, give me a little bit to catch up.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Please, In the meantime, Kentucky's pretty bored anyway. I don't know.
- 6:41Speaker 2: There's horses and stuff.
- 6:43Speaker 3: But Christina, as someone who lives in Kentucky's say some
- 6:45Speaker 3: bad things about Kentucky. You're the authority. I didn't say
- 6:49Speaker 3: one good things. What would you say is the true
- 6:52Speaker 3: problem with Kentucky. I want to cause some trouble for you.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I thought the cat was going to be the biggest
- 7:00Speaker 2: of my cancelations today. Now the people, oh, that's probably about.
- 7:06Speaker 3: It, so careful about it, And you're like, well, everyone,
- 7:10Speaker 3: the human beings who live there are awful.
- 7:14Speaker 2: They're part of the problem, right, The people.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Are part of the problem. In every city, fair enough,
- 7:20Speaker 3: in every star enough is there is the that's what?
- 7:24Speaker 3: What's something that could be bad? That's not so tough?
- 7:28Speaker 3: Horses to.
- 7:30Speaker 2: A lot of horse horse culture not really my vice.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Okay, how often are you riding a horse growing up?
- 7:37Speaker 4: I'm certainly too much, too much, too much, maybe twice.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Which too she's thinking about like ponies. I think I
- 7:43Speaker 2: don't know that we ever wrote a.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Hole It almost it almost threw me off. Where was
- 7:49Speaker 4: this probably in Kentucky, I don't remember.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Was like a core memory. You have no idea what happened.
- 7:56Speaker 4: No, I have a weird thing with my memories where
- 7:58Speaker 4: I remember nothing from our childhood. It's for very specific things,
- 8:01Speaker 4: and then she remembers everything and has to teach me
- 8:04Speaker 4: what we went.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Through as children. But I do remember the horse.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I was on the back of a horse and there
- 8:09Speaker 4: was a loud noise and the horse kind of like bucked.
- 8:12Speaker 3: It got spooked.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and I had to hold on for dear life,
- 8:15Speaker 4: and I did. And I never rode a horse again.
- 8:18Speaker 3: You were benning from horsem I went vegan after that. Actually,
- 8:21Speaker 3: I was like I can't.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I gotta get on their good side.
- 8:25Speaker 3: No, and Christina, you've never been on a horse.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I mean apparently I have. I don't recall she hasn't.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Been on a horse. Sure you weren't you on a
- 8:34Speaker 3: horse in China? Yeah? A horse in China. You went on.
- 8:37Speaker 3: You went all the way to China, get up to
- 8:39Speaker 3: get home.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I was on the Silk Road and my dad, our dad,
- 8:45Speaker 2: so another whole thing. He took me to China one
- 8:48Speaker 2: time with his business partners, okay, because they're all off Chinese,
- 8:51Speaker 2: and I didn't know what was going on because I
- 8:52Speaker 2: don't speak Chinese. And we went to the Silk Road
- 8:56Speaker 2: and they said, okay, now we're all getting on. Well,
- 8:57Speaker 2: they didn't say anything, they said something in Chinese and
- 8:59Speaker 2: then everyone climbed on a horse, and my dad was not.
- 9:02Speaker 2: He forgot I was there, so I kind of had
- 9:04Speaker 2: to figure it out. And I got on a horse
- 9:06Speaker 2: and then this old man fell off his horse and
- 9:10Speaker 2: it was very funny.
- 9:11Speaker 3: And I wasn't there.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't allowed to go.
- 9:14Speaker 4: I was busy interning at an insurance company in Ohio.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Said I would way prefer that international trip. It was exciting.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Anyway, we're just processing a lot of trauma here today.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Where were the horse? And thank you for the apology?
- 9:30Speaker 3: Where were the horses riding in China?
- 9:31Speaker 2: Was it just like anna were going up like this
- 9:34Speaker 2: mountain and they said no cars allowed? And I said okay,
- 9:39Speaker 2: So I got on the horse and then Carl fell
- 9:41Speaker 2: off it and he had this backscratch that he had
- 9:43Speaker 2: bought at a market earlier that day, and he fell
- 9:46Speaker 2: and broke his backscratcher.
- 9:47Speaker 3: It was all very well, Oh my god.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I was like, I don't remember that part.
- 9:53Speaker 2: No, I laughed. Remember it wasn't that bad I'd laugh.
- 9:56Speaker 3: If he broke his back.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I love Carl, but.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I would laugh.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 10:02Speaker 3: How long were you in China for? Oh?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Wow, that was like a long too long.
- 10:07Speaker 4: I think it was a couple of weeks, right, that's
- 10:08Speaker 4: like two weeks.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Yeah, Oh, that sounds incredible.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I was in Shanghai for one day and I woke
- 10:12Speaker 2: up the next morning and like blew my nose and
- 10:15Speaker 2: it was all black like that because you breathe in
- 10:17Speaker 2: there all right, of course, And I don't know if
- 10:20Speaker 2: this is for me my allergies. I'm too like fragile,
- 10:22Speaker 2: you know. And then the horse situation, I thought, I can't,
- 10:26Speaker 2: I can't make this work.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I had. I just the only time I've been to
- 10:29Speaker 3: China was a layover and I couldn't use social media.
- 10:34Speaker 3: That was my big experience.
- 10:35Speaker 2: That part was weird too.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Yeah, honestly, probably for the better. Yeah, for those thirty
- 10:40Speaker 3: minutes that I was just forced to be bored in China.
- 10:43Speaker 2: That sounds traumatic as well.
- 10:45Speaker 3: It was very difficult not being on inta. Where were
- 10:47Speaker 3: you going to Tokyo?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Oh cool, that sounds cooler than my thing.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Oh no, it's well, okay. China's are very careful, like
- 11:00Speaker 3: over a billion people. A billion people and Kentucky. That's tough. Okay,
- 11:07Speaker 3: So I want to continue talking about this rivalry between
- 11:10Speaker 3: Ohio and Kentucky. Oh yeah, how often you are like
- 11:13Speaker 3: restaurant wise, when you're going out to dinner? Do you
- 11:15Speaker 3: because you're ten minutes away? Do you ever go to
- 11:17Speaker 3: Kentucky to go out to eat?
- 11:18Speaker 4: I do go to certain cafes down there, certain lunch spots,
- 11:22Speaker 4: I admit it.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I do. Okay, I'm guilty of that. This is this
- 11:26Speaker 3: sort of thing where you can just hop state to
- 11:28Speaker 3: state is not familiar to amazing. It seems like such
- 11:32Speaker 3: a fascinating experience. That also means nothing.
- 11:34Speaker 4: We also have Southeast Indiana that we al another like
- 11:37Speaker 4: ten minutes.
- 11:37Speaker 2: They call us the Tri State.
- 11:39Speaker 3: So the Tri State, we love, the Try State.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I lived in New York briefly, and everyone's saying
- 11:45Speaker 4: the Try State. I'm like, that's not We're over yeah
- 11:52Speaker 4: a little bit horses there.
- 11:54Speaker 3: And now none of us has any stake in Indiana,
- 11:56Speaker 3: so we can all say something horrible now Indiana, Yeah
- 12:00Speaker 3: I haven't. I also haven't been there, so I can't
- 12:01Speaker 3: really speak. Probably the people's it's the people, the people
- 12:06Speaker 3: from Indiana.
- 12:07Speaker 2: That's right, that's right.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Just clip that online and cancelsure.
- 12:12Speaker 2: What's that all about?
- 12:13Speaker 3: How after are you going to Indiana?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Never?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Never, No.
- 12:16Speaker 4: I did an internship there where I would drive two
- 12:19Speaker 4: hours just one way to work for four hours, and
- 12:21Speaker 4: then drive two hours back to Cincinnati.
- 12:23Speaker 2: It was a cool record. It was a record like
- 12:25Speaker 2: other insurance company.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I got paid in records, so I didn't actually make
- 12:28Speaker 4: any money, which joyful noise, Oh, sure, of course.
- 12:32Speaker 3: That's insurance company. And then joyful noise.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Again, it's part of all our Yeah, we can diagnose
- 12:41Speaker 2: you also, because we're pretty qualified for that, I think.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah, we've diagnosed each other our entire lives, and we
- 12:48Speaker 4: were always right.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Everything's right. Yeah, it's a lot of things.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 12:54Speaker 3: How did you end up interning for an insurance company?
- 12:58Speaker 3: My dad knew a guy.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Okay, classic story, and I ended up being on the
- 13:02Speaker 4: floor with no other interns. So I was on the
- 13:06Speaker 4: licensing floor, and that just made me realize, oh, this
- 13:09Speaker 4: was a favor.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Like there, I don't really belong with the other interns.
- 13:14Speaker 4: And so I was the only one on that floor
- 13:16Speaker 4: and they gave me a bunch of work to do
- 13:18Speaker 4: in Excel, and I did it all within a month,
- 13:21Speaker 4: and I had two more months left and they didn't
- 13:23Speaker 4: know what to do with me, so they just gave
- 13:24Speaker 4: me as much busy work as they could. Meanwhile, she
- 13:27Speaker 4: was in China and I was sorry you were Cincinnati.
- 13:33Speaker 3: My one internship. I was separated from the interns.
- 13:37Speaker 2: It's like demoralized.
- 13:38Speaker 3: It's a very odd feeling. Initially you're like, oh, I'm
- 13:41Speaker 3: I guess I'm special. And then you're like, oh, I'm
- 13:44Speaker 3: just being tortured by my bosses because I have no
- 13:46Speaker 3: one to relate.
- 13:47Speaker 2: And now you're in the middle of both, and it's like, well, yeah, I'm.
- 13:50Speaker 3: In no world. No world will have.
- 13:53Speaker 4: I was a floor below the rest, so that didn't help.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Like if I were, I'd be like, okay, I'm better,
- 13:59Speaker 4: But I was not batter They were.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Up there like dancing. You could hear them, oh yeah, yeah.
- 14:03Speaker 4: And they had they had special events and stuff, and
- 14:05Speaker 4: I shouldn't because it was on a different floor.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Of course. Yeah, and you were. You had your nose
- 14:10Speaker 3: to the grindstone and.
- 14:12Speaker 4: So hard because for my future and insurance.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Of course, you had to break into the Insurance World champions.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Up in l A obviously.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, you two are just in l A for
- 14:23Speaker 3: a few days. Are you doing anything fun while you're here?
- 14:26Speaker 2: Mostly?
- 14:26Speaker 3: This the most fun I was. I was fishing for that.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, easy one, easy, lowball. What
- 14:32Speaker 2: else are we up to?
- 14:35Speaker 4: We like to stay in our hotel room.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Okay?
- 14:39Speaker 3: Do you watch hotel TV? Yes?
- 14:40Speaker 2: Sometimes we watched c SPAN about alien that.
- 14:47Speaker 3: What's going on? You have no idea? I really don't.
- 14:49Speaker 4: I'm a little nervous to say it.
- 14:51Speaker 2: They're here, they.
- 14:55Speaker 4: The government knows of pilots and organic beings somewhere.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Our managers having like a full She's like, something's wrong.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Clients are Kentucky, outer space, all the aliens, everything in
- 15:10Speaker 6: the universe. No, they have like testifying, these these professionals
- 15:15Speaker 6: testifying to what they saw covering up.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Everything changed when Ohio got recreational weed. Okay, life's a
- 15:23Speaker 2: lot more fun. And so sometimes when we travel we
- 15:25Speaker 2: just sit in the hotel we watch c SPAN.
- 15:27Speaker 4: But it's c SPAN and it's they're talking about aliens'
- 15:30Speaker 4: real like congressional hearings about aliens.
- 15:33Speaker 3: We keep having these things. I feel like this is
- 15:35Speaker 3: now an annual thing where someone who seems fairly with
- 15:39Speaker 3: it is saying I know about aliens, and then nothing happens.
- 15:42Speaker 3: We don't see anything else about it, and we're all like, Okay,
- 15:45Speaker 3: then they're here and then it changes literally nothing, and
- 15:49Speaker 3: then we wait till the next year where uh Tom
- 15:52Speaker 3: DeLong shows back in Congress. When do we get the
- 15:56Speaker 3: photos or the videos or when do we get to
- 15:59Speaker 3: talk to.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Isn't that always a question? When do we have photos?
- 16:03Speaker 4: May we already have we just don't know enough enough.
- 16:06Speaker 3: There's the teasing. I know, the teaser campaign for aliens
- 16:10Speaker 3: has got to come to an They're either here or
- 16:13Speaker 3: they're not.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Let's move on, let's get it together.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I saw a headline like a week ago that was
- 16:17Speaker 3: like if this is if this is all disclosed, the
- 16:22Speaker 3: economy will collapse because there will no longer be any
- 16:26Speaker 3: trust in the government.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Right right, there's a lot of that.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Right It's like, what are we talking about? Yes, in
- 16:33Speaker 3: the greenlands, but I just if there's evidence, then I
- 16:41Speaker 3: just don't understand what's the end of there's the endgame here? Who, Like,
- 16:46Speaker 3: what are they talking about right now on c SPAN,
- 16:49Speaker 3: Like what are they saying organic beings or is there
- 16:51Speaker 3: a sentience.
- 16:53Speaker 4: But they said not they are not Like I forget
- 16:56Speaker 4: what they said.
- 16:57Speaker 2: They're not extra terrestrial.
- 17:00Speaker 4: They are because, oh, because we don't know if they're
- 17:02Speaker 4: from not.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Of this Earth, India.
- 17:05Speaker 3: They could be interdimensional.
- 17:06Speaker 2: And this guy says it on c SPAN and I'm like, okay,
- 17:09Speaker 2: it's not the recreational it really this guy says on
- 17:12Speaker 2: s SPAN, like in the army.
- 17:15Speaker 3: They may be from another dimension, or they may be
- 17:19Speaker 3: from another planet. It feels more likely they're from another dimension.
- 17:23Speaker 4: It feels we don't understand everything. I don't understand anything,
- 17:28Speaker 4: understand most things.
- 17:29Speaker 3: But not this. And yet they're they've whoever's experienced them.
- 17:34Speaker 3: It really has changed nothing except for they get to
- 17:36Speaker 3: be on c SPAN, Right, what else is affected? I
- 17:40Speaker 3: don't know. They got to meet AOC. AOC was there.
- 17:42Speaker 3: That was Tom along probably too, at least in the audience.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I just I'm so mystified by the entire thing. I think.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Yeah, the government, I think is they claim that the
- 17:55Speaker 4: government's withholding because of certain technologies that they're gaining access to,
- 17:59Speaker 4: and they don't other countries to gain access to certain technologies.
- 18:02Speaker 4: If I sound so insane right.
- 18:06Speaker 2: By the way, I'm usually one and when I showed
- 18:10Speaker 2: him the Sea Span, he went down a rabbit hole
- 18:11Speaker 2: and I went, oh, I probably shouldn't have sent him
- 18:13Speaker 2: down there, but.
- 18:14Speaker 4: More than I would have been like, this is all bullshit.
- 18:15Speaker 4: And then I watched one thing like two hours of
- 18:17Speaker 4: Sea Span. I was like, I'm in But yeah, they
- 18:20Speaker 4: think they have certain weapons, technology, et cetera that they
- 18:24Speaker 4: want to be able to use and they don't want
- 18:25Speaker 4: other people to use.
- 18:26Speaker 3: But it's all like four tightly. I mean, like the
- 18:31Speaker 3: biggest secret keepers on Earth have access to this because
- 18:35Speaker 3: I just don't believe, like we have the biggest blabber
- 18:37Speaker 3: mouth in the world and controvel of the country, Like why,
- 18:41Speaker 3: I just feel like somebody.
- 18:43Speaker 2: They're sending him on side quests like Greenland's. I think
- 18:45Speaker 2: they're just like, go like play outside, and he's playing
- 18:49Speaker 2: outside right now, bullying everybody, and it's like, meanwhile, the
- 18:52Speaker 2: grown ups are keeping the secrets. Listen. I don't know.
- 18:56Speaker 3: I don't just like, if I knew, I feel like
- 18:59Speaker 3: telling you.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Everybody, I know, I don't know how you'd keep that.
- 19:02Speaker 3: You're using this great technology, whatever it is, what is it?
- 19:06Speaker 2: We're all podcasters. I think we're the last people that
- 19:08Speaker 2: would give the secrets of Alien University.
- 19:10Speaker 4: But I think the technology that I would want is
- 19:14Speaker 4: have you ever played The Sims?
- 19:16Speaker 3: Of course in the Sims, they have those showers.
- 19:18Speaker 4: We just walk in and it just like cleans your
- 19:20Speaker 4: body and it's like these things, Now, that's what I want.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I don't I don't want to get wet. I just
- 19:23Speaker 4: want to like go in and be clean.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I would want the Sims technology. When you pee, your
- 19:27Speaker 3: pants are suddenly in just a giant puddle and you're crying.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Oh, I think naturally.
- 19:33Speaker 3: No, Usually it's a much slower thing. In the airport,
- 19:36Speaker 3: my pants are we I'm looking for a place to
- 19:39Speaker 3: switch clothes or the like having a baby by like
- 19:47Speaker 3: crawling around under the sheets of your bed. That feels. Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 3: What other things do the Sims do? Yeah, they get
- 19:55Speaker 3: trapped in rooms but forget to eat.
- 19:57Speaker 4: And there's a whole dumpster diving like expansion and it
- 20:01Speaker 4: was a dumpster. Yeah. I made a character after her
- 20:04Speaker 4: and who just all everything that she got was out
- 20:07Speaker 4: of the dumpsters.
- 20:07Speaker 3: She lives in Kentucky. Yeah, on the roof on her dumpster. Like,
- 20:16Speaker 3: do either of you still play The Sims?
- 20:18Speaker 4: Sometimes it's been it's probably been at least a year,
- 20:20Speaker 4: but definitely within the past couple of years.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a huge source of conflict between my
- 20:25Speaker 3: sister and I, you know, because we had one computer
- 20:29Speaker 3: and it was highly addictive, and you know, it just
- 20:32Speaker 3: led to fight after fight.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the drum? Are you older? Younger?
- 20:35Speaker 3: Older? Okay and less immature? Perhaps?
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I know what that's like.
- 20:40Speaker 3: So there was a was there fighting between you about
- 20:42Speaker 3: the Sims or that.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Was fighting between everything everything?
- 20:46Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 20:47Speaker 4: But so yeah, definitely computer time. I'm sure I played
- 20:49Speaker 4: a lot of RuneScape. That was very important to me.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Right, I mocked a lot of rooms and mocked.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that feels like an easy tar really.
- 20:57Speaker 4: I played more recently than the Sims actually made it.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Okay, okay, did you I asked this of people a lot,
- 21:04Speaker 3: do you Did you ever have physical fights a siblings
- 21:06Speaker 3: as like kids?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Interesting because my friend had asked, when was the last
- 21:09Speaker 2: time you you punched someone? I went, honestly, it was
- 21:11Speaker 2: probably my brother.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Like, I don't know, I spit in her hair once.
- 21:15Speaker 2: He spit in my hair and my mom laughed and I've.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Never got because she was telling me not to spit
- 21:20Speaker 4: in her hair and I was like, but what if
- 21:22Speaker 4: I did.
- 21:23Speaker 3: And then I've got a great idea. Yeah, and I did.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Mom thought it was hilarious. No, that was bad.
- 21:28Speaker 2: So I call that physical aggression.
- 21:30Speaker 4: That was That was that was pretty rough. I mean
- 21:32Speaker 4: it was like I was like twenty one at that point.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Twenty one.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Okay, oh my god, you scared me. I was like,
- 21:38Speaker 2: that can't be true. We were chilled, right, Yeah.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I feel like our physical fights probably stopped at around twelve.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I think that's why together a little bit.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, I asked because I remember my siblings
- 21:49Speaker 3: and I frequently physically pulling, pulling hair, pinching, wrestling on
- 21:53Speaker 3: the floor, not so much like punching in the face.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah right, but there was like a weird animalistic physicality
- 21:59Speaker 3: to it. There's yeah, and you were mad at each
- 22:02Speaker 3: other trying to hurt each other, which is so crazy,
- 22:06Speaker 3: and you.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Probably could have, like I think about him.
- 22:11Speaker 4: I agree.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Actually yeah, well, I mean speaking of physically fighting and
- 22:16Speaker 3: just wanting to hurt people. The podcast is called I said,
- 22:20Speaker 3: no gifts. You two are podcasters. I would think of
- 22:23Speaker 3: you as professionals. Stake. I was looking forward to I
- 22:28Speaker 3: make a lot of them. I was looking forward to
- 22:30Speaker 3: you to being here today. And then I come to
- 22:34Speaker 3: the studio, I get here, Ellis, our producer, comes in
- 22:37Speaker 3: kind of pulls me aside and says, I'm so sorry.
- 22:41Speaker 3: They have a gift. I asked Elis to step out
- 22:44Speaker 3: and close the door, just did some breathing exercises, and
- 22:49Speaker 3: now we're here. You brought a gift to the podcast.
- 22:54Speaker 2: We said we wouldn't apologize.
- 22:55Speaker 3: I mean, sibling sibling promise. My bad cut that out.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Honestly to be, it's kind of a plus for us
- 23:07Speaker 4: and a gift for us because we're getting the chance
- 23:09Speaker 4: to share our culture. It's a cultural gift. It's more
- 23:13Speaker 4: like a cultural exchange. I mean, I wouldn't say exchange
- 23:17Speaker 4: because we don't get much in return here. I got
- 23:19Speaker 4: a nice coffee, but we at least are sharing our
- 23:23Speaker 4: culture with you.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Okay, well that's a horrible excuse, but I'm happy to
- 23:27Speaker 3: open it here on the show as well. It's in
- 23:30Speaker 3: this kind of beautiful brown bag. It's lying flat on
- 23:33Speaker 3: the table with an exciting tissue coming out of it.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Hand it to me and I'll open it here on
- 23:40Speaker 3: the show. This is embarrassing for all of us. I
- 23:50Speaker 3: hope no one has their volume up too loud. Dog is,
- 23:56Speaker 3: windows are shattering.
- 23:58Speaker 2: It's all our fault.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Okay, reaching this one, you got to get them all
- 24:03Speaker 3: out good, Okay, reaching. Oh it's a book. Okay, whoa.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I don't even know how to pronounce this. I'll try though,
- 24:12Speaker 3: strewe well, Peter, let me try to do that. Truthful.
- 24:19Speaker 2: That's very good.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 2: It was a weaker German and this was one of
- 24:22Speaker 2: our childhood books that was read to us. It's very
- 24:27Speaker 2: cautionary tales. Have you heard of these things?
- 24:30Speaker 3: I mean, are they essentially like fairy tales? But someone
- 24:34Speaker 3: dies at the end of children? A lot of children
- 24:38Speaker 3: die right uh for the listener. It's a beautiful cover
- 24:43Speaker 3: and also horrifying. It's yellow, has the difficult word to pronounce,
- 24:47Speaker 3: and then essentially the most evil woman alive.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Oh it's a man.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Oh, that's a man that's headed Peter translation translation peterheaded.
- 24:57Speaker 4: I can't translate that anymore than that.
- 24:59Speaker 3: R you know what it means. But he's got like
- 25:01Speaker 3: a he's got a lot of hair that's shocking coming
- 25:04Speaker 3: at it, and then very long fingernails. He's wearing essentially
- 25:08Speaker 3: a tunic with a it's a snappy tunic with a
- 25:11Speaker 3: belt correct, cinched at the waist and very short legs. Correct.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I think they kind of got excited about all the
- 25:18Speaker 2: other stuff.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah, got what So is he like the protagonists come
- 25:24Speaker 3: for you will? I mean he's terrifying threat.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, no, he's he's a threat. He's I think
- 25:30Speaker 4: the first story is just him, and then the rest
- 25:32Speaker 4: are all completely different. So I think he's only in
- 25:34Speaker 4: the first story.
- 25:35Speaker 2: If you want to look at page thirteen, that's the
- 25:37Speaker 2: page that I think like gives the best visual description
- 25:41Speaker 2: of the kind of stories in here.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I love. It's a new book, so I love pages.
- 25:45Speaker 2: It's from a local bookstore.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Familiar, it's right, correct? Yeah, Oh I know that place.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I made my producer go by it because we were
- 25:57Speaker 2: at the hotel watching seats and I went pickure up
- 26:00Speaker 2: some gift wrapped.
- 26:01Speaker 4: H because she forgot hurt copy at home.
- 26:03Speaker 3: That's how I buy all of my gifts. Ellis I
- 26:06Speaker 3: need a gift.
- 26:07Speaker 2: From my mom?
- 26:09Speaker 3: Okay, this is page thirteen. Oh is this is his
- 26:12Speaker 3: origin store.
- 26:13Speaker 2: No, this is a totally different so we've already moved past.
- 26:16Speaker 2: He's just the main like store, the first story, and
- 26:18Speaker 2: then the rest are just different children misbehaving. This is
- 26:21Speaker 2: how we learned not to This is how I learned
- 26:23Speaker 2: not to suck my thumb, because as you can see,
- 26:25Speaker 2: his thumbs have been cut.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Off a little little suck a thumb, a little suck
- 26:27Speaker 3: at thumb. That's his name, suck a thumb.
- 26:30Speaker 2: And his thumbs were cut off by that tailor.
- 26:32Speaker 3: See the blood of course, the taylor with kind of
- 26:34Speaker 3: a scissor that you would do for a grand opening
- 26:37Speaker 3: of a grocery store.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Car dealer. Yeah, exactly, but now he has no thumbs left.
- 26:41Speaker 3: And is this like, are they just very short stories?
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yeah, just like little ce poems.
- 26:46Speaker 4: Cute is not the word it used for any of these.
- 26:49Speaker 3: What I want to see some of the other.
- 26:50Speaker 2: So does this give you insight into kind of our
- 26:52Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Stories He's just read to German children like it's a
- 26:55Speaker 3: normal thing. Yeah, I mean kids. Originally we read this.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Originally the author wrote it as a gift for his son,
- 27:05Speaker 4: and his buddy was like, dude, this is amazing. You
- 27:09Speaker 4: got to publish this or something.
- 27:12Speaker 2: He's like, this ship is cold.
- 27:13Speaker 4: The people will love this, and they did. The German
- 27:18Speaker 4: German people, German people.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Wow, this person's emotional abuse has now become a publishing phenomenon.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Right, It went viral for the day and it's still
- 27:26Speaker 2: kind of They still sell it in Pasadena.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Pasadena made it all the way to sunny southern California
- 27:31Speaker 3: serves up. Yes, beautiful. Okay, So I mean the.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Kids here could use it if you asked me, But
- 27:36Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 27:36Speaker 3: It looks like someone's falling into the water and drowning.
- 27:39Speaker 3: That's right.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Catches on fire to the.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Woman with the cats. Yeah, she was playing with matches
- 27:44Speaker 3: and the.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Cats were like, don't do that, and then she caught
- 27:46Speaker 4: on fire and they were like, I told you.
- 27:48Speaker 3: So these are like tell me you, let's see here
- 27:52Speaker 3: about the author. We don't care. Yeah, I just want
- 27:55Speaker 3: to see various children learning their lessons.
- 27:58Speaker 4: I do like the hair that the one you're looking at.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Mass the hair. Nice revenge tale.
- 28:02Speaker 4: The next page is even better.
- 28:04Speaker 2: The gun.
- 28:05Speaker 4: The rabbit shoot the gun while wearing the glasses of
- 28:08Speaker 4: the hunter.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Oh you get smoking a sick or something.
- 28:12Speaker 4: The last frame, I want a tattoo of that rabbit.
- 28:15Speaker 3: That's my goal. That's amazing. Not only does he shoot
- 28:18Speaker 3: the hunter, he shoots him to death and the hunter
- 28:20Speaker 3: falls into a well.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Now the whole village is poisoned, because the.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Whole village.
- 28:28Speaker 2: That's my news. That's any expansion on the story.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Stop drinking unfiltered water.
- 28:33Speaker 2: You never know.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Wow, this is we were both of your parents German. Okay,
- 28:40Speaker 3: do you speak German? Wow? But not not much. I
- 28:44Speaker 3: don't want to. Were you born in Germany?
- 28:47Speaker 2: You're born in Cincinnati. Like our parents met in very Ohio. Story,
- 28:52Speaker 2: but they met in Cincinnati as two German people were like, well,
- 28:55Speaker 2: I guess we'll get married, and then.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Two years later they were like, I guess I didn't
- 29:00Speaker 4: have done that.
- 29:02Speaker 3: That's not that one.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, then they Yeah, anyway, So our stepparents are American.
- 29:05Speaker 2: So my sister was raised with like a relatively normal,
- 29:09Speaker 2: you know, kind of contact, and we were really so
- 29:13Speaker 2: sometimes it was a total darkness, complete and other darkness.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Catholicism plus with this bolshous, real violent evil German tales.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Kentucky, like ten minutes down the road, it's like threats
- 29:24Speaker 2: at every corner.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Yeah, do you visit Germany often?
- 29:29Speaker 2: We used to.
- 29:30Speaker 4: It's been like a couple of years, but yeah, like
- 29:32Speaker 4: every couple of years, maybe, like we have the option
- 29:34Speaker 4: to go more regularly, but we're not as close with
- 29:37Speaker 4: our extended family as the rest of our little sister like,
- 29:41Speaker 4: she'll go with our cousins. She's closer with them, and
- 29:44Speaker 4: we're like, have fun.
- 29:46Speaker 2: We've kind of between.
- 29:48Speaker 4: I lived with my grandpa and our grandpa for six months.
- 29:51Speaker 3: And German Grandpa, Yeah, absolute hell. It was hell on earth.
- 29:55Speaker 4: And my mom, who was raised by this man, was
- 29:57Speaker 4: like what And then she tells me all these stories,
- 29:59Speaker 4: and I'm like, you knew he's a terrible person to
- 30:02Speaker 4: live with.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Can I get one little fun anecdote?
- 30:06Speaker 3: Please?
- 30:07Speaker 2: He went times room at our grandpa's house. Our grandpa
- 30:10Speaker 2: famously just didn't like like people, or children or women.
- 30:14Speaker 2: He so he had seven daughters, so that went well.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And then my brother went to live with him for
- 30:19Speaker 2: a while. And one day my brother was in his
- 30:21Speaker 2: room and saw an envelope.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Full of cats full of cash, and it was underneath
- 30:27Speaker 4: the radiator, a lot.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Of money under the radiator.
- 30:29Speaker 4: And I went to go get it, and I was like,
- 30:31Speaker 4: oh my god, I don't know how much it was,
- 30:33Speaker 4: but it was like thousands of euro and I'm like,
- 30:35Speaker 4: what the hell? So I gave it to him and
- 30:37Speaker 4: then he gave me like a reward of like I
- 30:40Speaker 4: don't know, one hundred euro or something.
- 30:41Speaker 3: He's like, oh good. He was testing me And I'm like, whoa,
- 30:46Speaker 3: this is straight out of this book. And I'm like,
- 30:48Speaker 3: what did he expect? Like, I'm not that dumb.
- 30:50Speaker 4: It was like also like over a month after I
- 30:53Speaker 4: moved in, as if I wouldn't see a thing of
- 30:55Speaker 4: cash lying on the floor under the radiator.
- 30:58Speaker 3: What like scenario is he's setting you up for there?
- 31:02Speaker 3: Is he afraid you were going to take something from him?
- 31:05Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 31:05Speaker 4: I get I don't know, but well, okay, this this
- 31:08Speaker 4: might give a little insight. He put an alarm outside
- 31:11Speaker 4: my door so whenever I walked by it was motion sensor.
- 31:14Speaker 3: That was a motion sensor.
- 31:15Speaker 4: It would make a loud ding dong so he could
- 31:17Speaker 4: hear when I left my room and came back.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Whoa. He was not a good person. I want to
- 31:23Speaker 3: hear more stories about this person. Is there anything good
- 31:26Speaker 3: happening at this cottage? I assume it's a cottage.
- 31:28Speaker 7: It is not.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Is a very like a large old pink house. My
- 31:32Speaker 4: bathroom was like completely pink tiling. It had a urinal
- 31:35Speaker 4: in there too, Like he installed urinals in like all the.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Bathrooms and in home, urinal is always a rent flag. Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 4: It was one of those things where once I used it,
- 31:44Speaker 4: I was like, I can get used to this, but
- 31:47Speaker 4: I never want to install this might like that seems.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I don't want people to come into my bathroom and
- 31:51Speaker 4: be like, oh, there's a urinal there.
- 31:53Speaker 3: I mean, like you're not liking women. That's such a thing.
- 31:56Speaker 3: It's like, oh, I'm going to install a toilet specifically
- 31:58Speaker 3: for men to you. Yeah, so we're in my very
- 32:01Speaker 3: pink bathroom. It's a great It's got a mixed messaging
- 32:05Speaker 3: in Grandpa's house.
- 32:06Speaker 7: No, he was.
- 32:07Speaker 4: He's not a nice man. He's somehow so alive. I
- 32:09Speaker 4: don't know how he feels like he thinks that probably
- 32:13Speaker 4: based on just me living with him.
- 32:15Speaker 3: But no, he was.
- 32:17Speaker 4: We would like go sit in cafes and people watch.
- 32:20Speaker 4: I mean he was mostly like complaining about the youths
- 32:22Speaker 4: and what whatnot. Some good times just like hanging out.
- 32:25Speaker 4: It was usually when we weren't talking that it was
- 32:27Speaker 4: really good.
- 32:27Speaker 3: That makes us But his children, his daughters like him.
- 32:31Speaker 7: No, No, it's complicated.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Well, some of the favorites, you know, they play, they
- 32:38Speaker 4: play each other.
- 32:40Speaker 2: He has one son named after him, who's the fourteenth
- 32:43Speaker 2: of the lineage fourteen. Let's just say there's some complicated
- 32:47Speaker 2: speaking of sibling dynamics.
- 32:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:49Speaker 2: I don't think that seven of them could eight of
- 32:50Speaker 2: them could start a podcast. It would be really bad.
- 32:53Speaker 5: Wow.
- 32:54Speaker 3: So wait, they're eight children total. He had seven daughters
- 32:57Speaker 3: in a row, and it's like I've got to have
- 32:58Speaker 3: someone to play baseball with or whatever.
- 33:00Speaker 2: He actually had a son in somewhere in the middle,
- 33:02Speaker 2: and then like oops, they accidentally had like more daughters.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Oh.
- 33:06Speaker 4: I don't know what he is, but he's like one
- 33:07Speaker 4: of like the third youngest. Maybe I don't know is
- 33:09Speaker 4: he I don't actually know.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I don't really care. Aside, I want to get to
- 33:13Speaker 3: know this guy.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Am I allowed to say the other part?
- 33:15Speaker 5: Or no?
- 33:16Speaker 3: I do not care, so I shouldn't say it.
- 33:19Speaker 2: He's also gay, he's.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Oh, you shouldn't say that. Grandpa's gay. Yeah, well, pink bathroom.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Much like like I didn't realize I was bisexual until
- 33:29Speaker 4: two years ago because of internalized homophobia that cut off.
- 33:33Speaker 4: That man was raising fucking Nazi Germany. I can't imagine.
- 33:37Speaker 3: But he's a total ass.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Both sides you're like, well, obviously you're you've had an
- 33:43Speaker 2: extremely wild and traumatic upbringing, but also like, hey, I'm
- 33:46Speaker 2: gonna not be part of this.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe he would.
- 33:49Speaker 4: And when I worked for him in his lamp store.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Oh that's a fun fact.
- 33:54Speaker 2: That's one of the oldest lamp stores in the country.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Right, this is all adding up. Grandpa's a giant bitch. Yeah.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Yeah, he was an asshole, especially to customers. There were
- 34:02Speaker 4: were like negative reviews and they.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Were all negative. Yeah, it was writing.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Yeah, he nailed you on the doors, the whole thing. Yeah,
- 34:14Speaker 4: the eleven Yeah, yeah, it was something. But yeah, no,
- 34:18Speaker 4: he's a He's an interesting man. That taught me a lot.
- 34:24Speaker 3: I love this guy. I hate myself, you know. Yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 4: He would come every day in like the break room.
- 34:29Speaker 4: He'd complain about my family, my sister, my oh, my stepdad.
- 34:34Speaker 4: He does not like our stepdad. Our stepdad stood up
- 34:36Speaker 4: to him once.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Never seen each other. What was the disagreement. It was
- 34:40Speaker 3: something about my mom like and said.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Oh, I never got the books I wanted when I
- 34:44Speaker 2: was a child, And then everybody started erupting, and then
- 34:47Speaker 2: a chair, my stepdad through a chair and my my
- 34:51Speaker 2: my now husband, I don't know what he was thinking.
- 34:53Speaker 2: We were dating back then and he stuck around for
- 34:55Speaker 2: some reason, but he witnessed all this and he's like,
- 34:56Speaker 2: I think we should go. So we had to like
- 34:59Speaker 2: leave out the back do or because they were throwing furniture.
- 35:01Speaker 2: And the next morning they're like, hey, are you guys
- 35:02Speaker 2: coming over for breakfast? And we stopped by and everyone
- 35:04Speaker 2: was just like drinking coffee and I was like, I
- 35:06Speaker 2: can't live like this, live like this growing.
- 35:10Speaker 4: And our step. He's like a very mild manner, like
- 35:13Speaker 4: very like soft spoken man, and he was driven to that. Yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 4: and I don't blame driven to mat.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Cherry Springer level. Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Yes, the chair it's still a little funky. They still
- 35:23Speaker 4: use it, but it's like it's one where you sit
- 35:25Speaker 4: on it and you're like, whoa, that leg's about to
- 35:27Speaker 4: give out.
- 35:27Speaker 3: And it's now got this memory tied to anytime you
- 35:30Speaker 3: sit in that chair, it's dark flashback. That's great. That's
- 35:34Speaker 3: what sort of books did your mom want us to chry?
- 35:36Speaker 3: Probably that one, this one, No, that's probably she.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Was really into like American West, like Spaghetti Western.
- 35:44Speaker 3: She liked Europeans love sweet they.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Love the Wild West situation.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Yeah, they love like West white people being Native Americans
- 35:51Speaker 4: in media, they.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Love an Italian especially Yeah my favorite. Yeah, it's great.
- 35:59Speaker 4: So yeah, she was really in the US and then
- 36:01Speaker 4: ended up moving when she was like eighteen, so.
- 36:04Speaker 3: She loved pop music.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I bet she's a billy Idol is a billy. She
- 36:09Speaker 4: likes Billy Idol. She likes Tiesto too.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Though wait, I don't know, I'm not familiar with the.
- 36:14Speaker 7: DJ from like the mid to weould we would play
- 36:18Speaker 7: like we would play like Tiesto cassettes in my mom's
- 36:22Speaker 7: like Volkswagen DJ Cacabriole, and we'd just be like driving
- 36:26Speaker 7: around town blasting this like techno.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Music, and t is an American DJ.
- 36:30Speaker 4: I don't think so. I had no idea where Tiesta's.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Restening to Tiesto and your Cabriole talking about he's Dutch.
- 36:41Speaker 3: That all makes more sense. It's a Dutch situation. Yeah. Yeah,
- 36:45Speaker 3: that is not Kentucky, Ohio.
- 36:49Speaker 2: That's not really welcome.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, wow, what a childhood.
- 36:54Speaker 2: We're gonna actually go back to her room after this
- 36:56Speaker 2: and just kind of like meditate or something. We're bringing
- 36:59Speaker 2: up a lot of.
- 37:00Speaker 4: We always talk about something and kind of every time
- 37:04Speaker 4: we hang out.
- 37:05Speaker 3: I worked with the German in high school and he
- 37:07Speaker 3: would always talk about me looking like a character from
- 37:09Speaker 3: some German illustration. Does this sound familiar at all? That
- 37:13Speaker 3: maybe like slept in a match box, which I would
- 37:16Speaker 3: love to do.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Interesting, that feels like an insult, but not like it
- 37:20Speaker 2: feels Yeah, I mean it's.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Like I don't it sounds like the idea. I love
- 37:26Speaker 3: the mouse's Yeah, getting to sit on a school of thread.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Oh that's charming, you know, sweeping with a piece of grass,
- 37:35Speaker 3: that kind of thing. But you know, this isn't a
- 37:37Speaker 3: familiar book to you.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Know, Oh, there's a mole. There's like this little mole
- 37:42Speaker 2: that around in the ground.
- 37:44Speaker 4: But they love their characters over They have so many
- 37:46Speaker 4: weird little characters.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's hard to and most of them seemingly end
- 37:51Speaker 3: up dead or violent.
- 37:54Speaker 2: They had it coming bound?
- 37:56Speaker 3: Does Bold.
- 37:59Speaker 2: A famous?
- 38:00Speaker 3: He's a puppet? Oh okay?
- 38:02Speaker 2: Loaf of bread.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Loaf of Bread has depression.
- 38:04Speaker 2: And it's on a children's show. Okay, And he's bant
- 38:09Speaker 2: Barn the bread and he's on it. He has his
- 38:12Speaker 2: own children show. It is for children, and he's extremely
- 38:15Speaker 2: depressed and has suicidal ideation and that's the whole bit.
- 38:19Speaker 2: And so he's just they replay these clips and he's
- 38:21Speaker 2: just depressed and he doesn't want to like get up,
- 38:25Speaker 2: and he doesn't really want to open the blinds.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Now it is his biological or circumstantial.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I think a bit about I think he's kind of
- 38:32Speaker 2: writing bread right, and he's kind of writing his own
- 38:34Speaker 2: future a little bit. He has his very furrowed brow.
- 38:36Speaker 2: You know, he's just really going through it, and it's
- 38:38Speaker 2: sort of like why are we having children? Kind of
- 38:42Speaker 2: look up to it. Guys. It's a strange culture.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Kids love this.
- 38:46Speaker 4: He's relatable, like he tells like I think an Oscar
- 38:53Speaker 4: because he's like, yeah, he doesn't really like people. But
- 38:55Speaker 4: it's because he's like just really going through some things.
- 38:57Speaker 5: You know.
- 38:57Speaker 2: He's on a band too.
- 38:59Speaker 4: I think, oh, that sounds right. I wouldn't be surprised.
- 39:01Speaker 3: It was on tour and stuff German Industrial bank, yeah, yeah,
- 39:06Speaker 3: the warehouses, yeah, good stuff. Times. Have you ever been
- 39:11Speaker 3: to a club in Germany? I wouldn't get in.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I honestly you might get in just because you so
- 39:16Speaker 2: wouldn't get do you know what I mean? Like sometimes
- 39:19Speaker 2: like this, you're trying too hard, you think you're going
- 39:22Speaker 2: to get in, and so I feel like lesson right,
- 39:25Speaker 2: you're going to be punished in the club. I lived
- 39:28Speaker 2: in Berlin for a while, did you. Yeah, and my
- 39:32Speaker 2: I always said, I'm really actually very busy tonight when
- 39:35Speaker 2: people said we're going to go to that big what was.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Wow to actually say it like a German kind kind
- 39:42Speaker 3: I'm it's that's the most famous one of all.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we read reviews of it on our show. We
- 39:47Speaker 2: read reviews on our podcast, by the way, and you
- 39:49Speaker 2: read reviews and the people complaining that they didn't get in,
- 39:53Speaker 2: it's very delightful.
- 39:54Speaker 3: I'm sorry that that is not a yell review. You
- 39:56Speaker 3: can't complain about not getting in.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Actually you can complain about anything.
- 40:02Speaker 3: About the complaints once you've got it.
- 40:05Speaker 2: No, you're right, you're right. Which those are fun too
- 40:07Speaker 2: because then you're like, what.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Place?
- 40:11Speaker 2: Oh, just like a lot of uh, performative erotica.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Probably a lot of things happening around the urine, a
- 40:21Speaker 3: lot of urinal probably. Oh yeah. The Europeans and their troughs.
- 40:25Speaker 3: We feel kind of thing the trough situation. I kind
- 40:29Speaker 3: of like the troughs. I go to the fair, you
- 40:32Speaker 3: know something about it? It's like a fishing It's you had.
- 40:35Speaker 2: That one pink urine all and now you're just all
- 40:37Speaker 2: about a trough.
- 40:38Speaker 4: I mean look, yeah, like I said, I wouldn't install
- 40:40Speaker 4: a journal, I would install a trough in my bathroom.
- 40:43Speaker 3: You love the sound of pe on metal. Yeah, it's
- 40:46Speaker 3: like productive.
- 40:47Speaker 4: It feels productive, like I want to be able to
- 40:49Speaker 4: hear that I'm doing something percussive.
- 40:50Speaker 3: It is, ultimately it is, but the room matters. That's important,
- 40:54Speaker 3: right right, Okay, So people are just having like probably
- 40:58Speaker 3: weird uh ins in bear Kind. Yeah, I'm now an
- 41:02Speaker 3: official in be Kind.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Yeah hell yeah, No, I've never been never, never tried, no,
- 41:09Speaker 2: never I was able to. I was invited to go
- 41:13Speaker 2: by my cool our cooler older cousin, but I just
- 41:16Speaker 2: was bailed.
- 41:17Speaker 4: So I played magic the gathering in Berlin.
- 41:19Speaker 3: That's what I thought. You're going to say, you played
- 41:20Speaker 3: it in bear Kind. Now, honestly, they probably do.
- 41:24Speaker 2: They probably let you in.
- 41:25Speaker 3: They probably like into that. Weirdly, Yeah, that brings like
- 41:28Speaker 3: a new thing to the club, just.
- 41:30Speaker 4: A little magic the gathering table in the corner.
- 41:32Speaker 3: You're not just there to do molly or whatever or
- 41:36Speaker 3: why not both? You can do both. That's what I
- 41:38Speaker 3: did when I went and played magic. I actually feel
- 41:40Speaker 3: like that's more of a cocaine place. What do you think?
- 41:43Speaker 3: I wonder what drugs are you doing there? This is
- 41:45Speaker 3: why I can't get in. Yeah, yeah, I have no idea.
- 41:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 41:49Speaker 2: There's probably some exclusive club to the drugs to the
- 41:52Speaker 2: club like nicknames for everything that like, well, clearly they
- 41:56Speaker 2: they like to kind of brand.
- 41:57Speaker 3: The Germans are so good with words, let's be honest,
- 42:00Speaker 3: have so many amazing words for different experiences. Yeah, that's
- 42:03Speaker 3: our most what are there's some other kind of in
- 42:07Speaker 3: the category of shottenfreid Right, I'm trying to think of that.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Geys.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Guys is such a good word. So neither of you
- 42:15Speaker 3: been to a German club.
- 42:16Speaker 2: I've been to like a German club, but not like
- 42:18Speaker 2: as cool as that.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Right, more barge. They do like to like dancing at
- 42:23Speaker 3: a bar in Berlin.
- 42:25Speaker 2: They try to make everything weird, so even the like
- 42:27Speaker 2: kind of off off Broadway, off grind like clubs have
- 42:32Speaker 2: like alien like creatures on the ceiling, like it's weird.
- 42:36Speaker 2: They're funky, you know they over there?
- 42:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 42:39Speaker 1: Are you?
- 42:39Speaker 7: Oh?
- 42:40Speaker 3: Go ahead? I was just going to say.
- 42:41Speaker 4: I also played a lot of table tennis when I
- 42:42Speaker 4: was there. Interesting, Yeah, oh I haven't seen it, But
- 42:46Speaker 4: I didn't even know about table tennis until like reviews
- 42:48Speaker 4: started coming out, like oh, yes, this looks right up
- 42:50Speaker 4: my alley tennis heavy also very judgmental of table tennis
- 42:54Speaker 4: media because I played competitively in college. I don't want
- 42:56Speaker 4: to rip, right, but yeah, and so when I see
- 42:59Speaker 4: these like show and I'm like, that's not how the
- 43:01Speaker 4: ball moves. And also it's not how the rules work,
- 43:03Speaker 4: they get on their side so much like that doesn't work.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Well, you've had to go and certify it.
- 43:08Speaker 4: You know what that should be a job someone like
- 43:11Speaker 4: it's like some sort of script coordinator but sitizer, but
- 43:13Speaker 4: it's for table tennis specifically.
- 43:15Speaker 3: The most annoying person to ever guess, Yeah, and it
- 43:17Speaker 3: would be me, and I welcome very very good at it.
- 43:20Speaker 3: I would be so good at that.
- 43:22Speaker 2: I once made a documentary about his competitive table tennis
- 43:24Speaker 2: team college.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 2: We went to college in DC and I had a
- 43:29Speaker 2: class I studied journalism broadcasting and I had a class
- 43:31Speaker 2: on sports media. And I'm not really equipped for this,
- 43:37Speaker 2: and they said, well, you have to do it. You
- 43:38Speaker 2: have to find a do a final project. And my
- 43:40Speaker 2: brother just joined a table tennis club at GW, so
- 43:43Speaker 2: I said, okay, I'll do a sports documentary and I
- 43:46Speaker 2: went to their competition in Marylands.
- 43:47Speaker 3: Due, Maryland, Yeah, and all lost.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I was really dramatic and I made it. I turned
- 43:52Speaker 2: it into kind of more of like a like a
- 43:54Speaker 2: Bravo adjacent I mean, for what for months? It's great
- 43:57Speaker 2: though my perspective twenty years ago. But it was like
- 44:00Speaker 2: this guy Neil was like feeling down and he was
- 44:03Speaker 2: kind of starting to cry. And then my brother was
- 44:05Speaker 2: all mad because nobody was following the rules, and I
- 44:08Speaker 2: got all the like kind of drama, and then my
- 44:09Speaker 2: teacher was like, this is not about the sport, and
- 44:11Speaker 2: I'm like, I know, but it's.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Like better, you know, And I got to be it
- 44:14Speaker 4: was pretty good.
- 44:15Speaker 3: That feels like an HM, may thank you. That's an
- 44:17Speaker 3: original take on a bunch of annoying losers like everyone
- 44:21Speaker 3: else bad. No, you're not wrong, You're not wrong.
- 44:25Speaker 2: It's exactly right. That was the name of the documentary,
- 44:28Speaker 2: but an interesting take.
- 44:29Speaker 3: On a bunch of Do you still have a documentary?
- 44:35Speaker 5: You know?
- 44:35Speaker 2: I ended up removing it from YouTube because someone found
- 44:37Speaker 2: it was so racist. I mean, honestly, at this point,
- 44:41Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know what if I want to
- 44:42Speaker 2: stand by whatever I said fifteen years ago, I know
- 44:45Speaker 2: there was a lot of zooming in on my brother's face.
- 44:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it would be like people talking about like, oh, like,
- 44:50Speaker 4: we got to take this seriously, and then it's like
- 44:52Speaker 4: all me being all serious. And then the guy who
- 44:54Speaker 4: was like kind of the clown of it all was
- 44:55Speaker 4: trying to make everyone laugh. But then he was like
- 44:57Speaker 4: taking it pretty seriously. Boy like didn't want people.
- 44:59Speaker 2: To know, disappointed himself, and there was something there. I
- 45:03Speaker 2: tell you what, I had, something I had.
- 45:04Speaker 3: The professionals were great.
- 45:07Speaker 4: She would take this aside and like just ask this question, what.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Do you really feel about my brother?
- 45:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 45:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, And I was I'm the one who was like,
- 45:14Speaker 4: they're not taking this seriously enough. I need them to focus.
- 45:17Speaker 4: And then I lost every single game I played.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I didn't win a single You were focused on the
- 45:21Speaker 3: wrong thing. You should have just gotten in there and
- 45:24Speaker 3: been part of the game rather than criticized. Yeah. I
- 45:26Speaker 3: learned a less again, learning a lesson.
- 45:28Speaker 2: You know he needs here as well, A little threatened
- 45:33Speaker 2: a little bit. What are you Gemini? I knew it.
- 45:36Speaker 5: I knew.
- 45:38Speaker 3: I haven't written on a piece of paper here. Yeah,
- 45:45Speaker 3: oh boy. Do you stay in touch with anybody from
- 45:47Speaker 3: the table tennis team?
- 45:48Speaker 4: No, I did see someone. We we we saw someone
- 45:51Speaker 4: who like on tour I was. We were in Philadelphia
- 45:54Speaker 4: and someone who I played on the team with reached
- 45:57Speaker 4: out Dustin and he lived there, and he came and
- 45:59Speaker 4: I got to see him for the first time in
- 46:01Speaker 4: years and it was really fun. But no, I don't
- 46:03Speaker 4: have any friends from college.
- 46:05Speaker 2: All of the years of college, right, we were in
- 46:07Speaker 2: some dark places.
- 46:09Speaker 4: I was not very good at that. I'm still not
- 46:10Speaker 4: very good at that old friends thing.
- 46:12Speaker 2: That's tough.
- 46:12Speaker 3: That's tough. I'm not good at the table tennis thing.
- 46:16Speaker 3: I don't think I've ever successfully hit a You have
- 46:21Speaker 3: that in common compared to me, I mean it would
- 46:24Speaker 3: be you're you have interdimensional technology compared to us. It's humiliating.
- 46:29Speaker 4: I mean, I bought my own paddle, so that good
- 46:33Speaker 4: for you.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Thank you. Do you have to like get it fit
- 46:35Speaker 3: to your hand?
- 46:36Speaker 4: No, but there are different So you get the blade
- 46:39Speaker 4: and then you get the side. Yeah, the blade is
- 46:43Speaker 4: like what you get the wooden? Like, all right, let's
- 46:45Speaker 4: relax without without the soft parts on it, and then
- 46:48Speaker 4: you put these you can have different like amounts of spin,
- 46:52Speaker 4: amounts of power, different like gripped, different bounciness.
- 46:57Speaker 3: Or whatever official title for the soft parts. I haven't
- 47:01Speaker 3: I should know the blade and giblets. Yeah, you cover
- 47:06Speaker 3: the blade with giblets. That's accurate.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Do you have a table at home? No? I haven't
- 47:12Speaker 3: played here. It's been so Yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 4: They do have like they have like these uh pong
- 47:18Speaker 4: pods or something ping pod.
- 47:20Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 47:21Speaker 4: They have a location where you can go and rent
- 47:23Speaker 4: a table and it's like twenty for seven while you
- 47:25Speaker 4: go and enter code and just go in and play.
- 47:27Speaker 3: So I've done that a couple of time. Very bird,
- 47:29Speaker 3: be kind, very Yes, you have to be let in
- 47:31Speaker 3: with my ex and oh boy, yeah, well the end
- 47:35Speaker 3: that was probably the end of it for you. Yeah,
- 47:38Speaker 3: twenty four hour ping Punk Club.
- 47:40Speaker 4: It's one of those things like when you see me
- 47:42Speaker 4: do something like that, it's like, oh, this is not
- 47:44Speaker 4: who I thought he was.
- 47:47Speaker 5: You know.
- 47:47Speaker 4: I think she saw a side of me that she
- 47:49Speaker 4: didn't like.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Oh your ex yeah.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Oh and just raw sexuality. Yeah, it's too much.
- 47:55Speaker 4: It was too much to handle. I really, I really
- 47:57Speaker 4: think that's.
- 47:58Speaker 7: What it was.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's too bad.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I thought you had to set the record straight though
- 48:01Speaker 2: on the podcast.
- 48:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 48:03Speaker 3: Wow, Well is there anything left to say about Let
- 48:06Speaker 3: me try again. Now, I'm gonna really try shroupin' Peter,
- 48:10Speaker 3: shrovel Peter. Yeah.
- 48:12Speaker 2: If you look at the first page, it describes him
- 48:15Speaker 2: like just individual. It might not be the first page,
- 48:18Speaker 2: but it has his image and color, and I think
- 48:20Speaker 2: that you'd be remiss to not see the first page.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Has got a gorgeous angel and beautiful children. Oh, here
- 48:27Speaker 3: we go. Then there's a note. Let's well, let's first
- 48:29Speaker 3: look at this.
- 48:29Speaker 2: This is the devil, shockheaded Peter.
- 48:32Speaker 3: That's uh.
- 48:33Speaker 2: He does have a low center gravity now that I
- 48:35Speaker 2: can't see it now.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Yeah, she's all torso. But it says just look at him.
- 48:41Speaker 3: There he stands with his nasty hair and hands. See
- 48:45Speaker 3: his nails are never cut, they are grimmed as black
- 48:47Speaker 3: as soot, and the Slovan I declare never once has
- 48:50Speaker 3: combed his hair. This is a hit piece. Anything to
- 48:54Speaker 3: me is sweeter than to see shock headed Peter who
- 48:57Speaker 3: like perspective, whose perspective.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Is that That's what I don't understand. It's like, is that,
- 49:02Speaker 2: am I it's going to become him? Am I perceiving
- 49:05Speaker 2: him like my kind.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Of And Peter never gets a fair deal.
- 49:09Speaker 2: No, And it's like, well, maybe he's never taught to
- 49:12Speaker 2: comb his hair.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Like, yeah, let us get to know him first, give
- 49:15Speaker 3: us neutral facts rather than this whole editorialized nastiness.
- 49:20Speaker 2: It seems a little biased.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Because I've only heard, like, before reading this book, I'd
- 49:24Speaker 4: heard that he was like a really like nice, got
- 49:27Speaker 4: pretty decent person, super good at table. I heard nothing
- 49:32Speaker 4: bad about him until this book came out and everything's changed.
- 49:35Speaker 4: And now it's like, Okay, we're focusing on the nails, Like,
- 49:37Speaker 4: it doesn't feel right to me.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Yeah, the nails are are tough. I mean it's like
- 49:41Speaker 3: that lady. You remember the lady?
- 49:43Speaker 2: I remember that?
- 49:43Speaker 3: Okay, have to say anything else? The lady like thinking
- 49:49Speaker 3: of opening in his book of world records, Like, yeah,
- 49:57Speaker 3: i think it was all broke off in a car accident.
- 50:00Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that's what happened, which.
- 50:03Speaker 2: It feels right.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a cautionary tale.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Yeah, what is she driving?
- 50:07Speaker 3: I think she was driving, probably trying to change the
- 50:09Speaker 3: radio with those things. Oh yeah, no, no, imagine that
- 50:15Speaker 3: being your the thing people know about you, and then
- 50:17Speaker 3: the breaking up the chorus.
- 50:19Speaker 2: And being like, well, that's It's like when people who
- 50:21Speaker 2: do sports like break their leg and they're like, I'm done. Yeah,
- 50:24Speaker 2: I'm done.
- 50:24Speaker 3: I'm nothing. Yeah, Oh my god, thing's stark. Okay, let's
- 50:29Speaker 3: look at this. Note says dear Bridger. We are honored
- 50:31Speaker 3: to pass on our generational trauma. Welcome to the family,
- 50:34Speaker 3: Christine and Zandy. Uh yeah, it does feel a little
- 50:36Speaker 3: bit like uh, The Ring, Jason, I would say, yeah,
- 50:43Speaker 3: this evil person. I'm shock this hasn't been a movie.
- 50:47Speaker 2: It has apparently, well I googled it earlier and it said, oh,
- 50:50Speaker 2: that's been made into a theater play called Shockheaded Peter.
- 50:53Speaker 2: And then I think it's been adapted into a movie.
- 50:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 50:58Speaker 3: That's what the one of those movies that you would
- 50:59Speaker 3: get red box seven.
- 51:03Speaker 2: And then it just kind of disappears from Bain situation.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Well, I'm writing the movie next. Nobody steal that from me.
- 51:09Speaker 3: I love it, We love I p.
- 51:13Speaker 2: That Heinrich eighteen sixties. Of course, because friend knew it
- 51:18Speaker 2: was a gold mine. You know, we've got to get those.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Couple of media empires friend of the original annoying executive.
- 51:26Speaker 3: I think we should play a game. I love game.
- 51:28Speaker 3: We're going to play Gift or a Curse. How would
- 51:30Speaker 3: you say that in German? Oh?
- 51:32Speaker 2: Good question is gift shank which yeah, here's a present? Yeah,
- 51:42Speaker 2: a curse. Yeah, that's one of those. I don't necessarily
- 51:45Speaker 2: Catholic kids.
- 51:46Speaker 3: We weren't allowed to learn words like that, the worst words.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Right right, Well, we're going to play Gift or a Curse.
- 51:51Speaker 3: I need a number between one and ten from you. Seven. Okay,
- 51:55Speaker 3: I have to do some light calculating to get our
- 51:56Speaker 3: game pieces. So right now, you can promote, recommend do
- 51:59Speaker 3: whatever you want. I'll be right back. Okay.
- 52:02Speaker 4: We do have recommendation is we host a podcast about
- 52:07Speaker 4: negative online reviews. So our recommendation is don't do that,
- 52:11Speaker 4: don't write those.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Oh that's our that's our premix today. Yeah, our podcast beach.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Do you see any water to wet? If you actually
- 52:17Speaker 2: want to listen to it, it's uh, I don't. It's
- 52:20Speaker 2: more of this, so I don't blame you if it's
- 52:22Speaker 2: not your thing, but we do read one surveys from yelp, Yeah,
- 52:25Speaker 2: of berg Heid and other places.
- 52:28Speaker 3: Gorgeous everybody, go listen to the podcast. It's fun. We
- 52:31Speaker 3: have fun. It's such a good idea and I feel
- 52:33Speaker 3: like you guys have been copied by a lot of
- 52:35Speaker 3: people at this point, not successfully. I have no idea.
- 52:42Speaker 4: I don't, but no, I think it's fun because we
- 52:45Speaker 4: do get to be like just we're siblings, so it's
- 52:47Speaker 4: like a unique thing and just like goofing off.
- 52:50Speaker 2: And when we came up with it, we were like,
- 52:53Speaker 2: certainly someone's done this before, so we were actually very
- 52:55Speaker 2: shocked nobody had so we don't really take credit for that,
- 52:58Speaker 2: but apparently we were the first one.
- 53:00Speaker 3: And it's an endless well of complaining.
- 53:02Speaker 4: And you never don't need people to keep writing them
- 53:04Speaker 4: like people, you can stop.
- 53:05Speaker 3: You don't have to.
- 53:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you can stop writing one ser that's okay, we
- 53:09Speaker 2: have plenty, don't worry.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, this is how we play Gift or a Curse.
- 53:13Speaker 3: I'm going to name three things. You're gonna tell me
- 53:15Speaker 3: if they're a gift or a curse and why, and
- 53:17Speaker 3: then I'll tell you if you're a right wrong, because
- 53:18Speaker 3: there are correct answer it and you have to you too,
- 53:22Speaker 3: have to decide between the two of you. Oh, and
- 53:23Speaker 3: we have to come to an agreement. Yes, yeah, we're
- 53:27Speaker 3: gonna be here a while. Uhh, that's how I extend
- 53:29Speaker 3: this podcast. I'm padding the podcast. Okay. This first one
- 53:34Speaker 3: is from a listener named Kelsey. Gift to a curse
- 53:37Speaker 3: when the server boxes up your leftovers for you. Oh okay,
- 53:41Speaker 3: I think, gift, Why I.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Don't you know when you slide it off the plate
- 53:46Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, the whole side of
- 53:47Speaker 2: the plate has like sauce on it, and you look
- 53:49Speaker 2: like you just don't know how to eat food, and
- 53:50Speaker 2: it's just sitting in front of you, and you're like, now,
- 53:52Speaker 2: I look like I don't know how to eat.
- 53:55Speaker 4: Make a mess moving food from the plate to my mouth, right,
- 53:59Speaker 4: let alone from my plate to another container that's not
- 54:03Speaker 4: my melt, because that I have a little more control,
- 54:05Speaker 4: Like it's just I'm used to that.
- 54:07Speaker 3: But when I'm putting it into a box, it's also
- 54:10Speaker 3: very shaky and always shaking. Probably, And what's the correct answer,
- 54:16Speaker 3: You're wrong, curse, absolute curse. I do not trust them
- 54:21Speaker 3: taking that back to the kitchen. I'm not getting everything
- 54:23Speaker 3: on the plate. You think they're not scraping every bit
- 54:26Speaker 3: back into the box. They don't care about me. They
- 54:29Speaker 3: might be taking a bite or taking some home for themselves,
- 54:31Speaker 3: those selfish white step servers. The service industry is you
- 54:38Speaker 3: g littered with selfish, overpaid people. I take it back. Yeah,
- 54:43Speaker 3: write more one star reviews people. If this is what's happening,
- 54:47Speaker 3: that's true.
- 54:47Speaker 2: It's really unaccepted.
- 54:48Speaker 3: That's a thievery. No I want. I'm doing it myself.
- 54:51Speaker 3: Bring me the box, I will. I'll make sure I
- 54:53Speaker 3: get every piece of spaghetti in there fair enough, all
- 54:56Speaker 3: of the sauce.
- 54:58Speaker 4: I would make you do it for me, like i'd
- 54:59Speaker 4: make someone else at my table. It's like weaponized, Like
- 55:02Speaker 4: I try not to do that, but this is one
- 55:04Speaker 4: of those things where I'm actually incompetent.
- 55:06Speaker 3: You've got to practice at home. I'd rather not to
- 55:09Speaker 3: go boxes than to sit at the kitchen table. And
- 55:12Speaker 3: eventually you'll be so good at ten thousand hours. Is
- 55:15Speaker 3: that what? Yeah?
- 55:17Speaker 4: I think that's where it's something else.
- 55:20Speaker 3: And imagine that after all that, you go out to
- 55:23Speaker 3: eat with some friends, how impressed they'll be when you.
- 55:24Speaker 2: But imagine the services. I'll go do that in the
- 55:26Speaker 2: back and he's like you.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Pull it out of their hands. My fund opportunity. I
- 55:30Speaker 3: was finally going to test it, follow them into the kitchen.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Maybe it is a curse, right, okay, okay, well you've
- 55:36Speaker 3: gotten zero, right, so that feels that feels right? All right.
- 55:39Speaker 3: This next one is from a listener named Maura Nora. Well,
- 55:44Speaker 3: you know there might be a Mara out in the world.
- 55:46Speaker 3: Is that a name anything?
- 55:48Speaker 5: A name.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Gift or a curse? When you have to confirm your
- 55:52Speaker 3: new password and the text box immediately tells you that
- 55:55Speaker 3: they don't.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Curse, I mean, this feels like a trick question.
- 56:02Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 56:03Speaker 4: That makes me mad for no reason. I don't have
- 56:05Speaker 4: a good reason. Oh no, that's for my therapist thing.
- 56:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 56:08Speaker 4: Whenever I see that, I think, of course it doesn't
- 56:11Speaker 4: like it's not even I just started, you know, but
- 56:13Speaker 4: I guess how else would it work?
- 56:15Speaker 2: What I don't think is maybe alchemize that energy? Right,
- 56:17Speaker 2: So you're looking at what does that mean? You're looking
- 56:21Speaker 2: at it? You're going, how dare you? Computer? Instead you
- 56:24Speaker 2: can look at it and go, oh sad, computer. It'll
- 56:26Speaker 2: never take over, you know. I can't even figure out that,
- 56:28Speaker 2: like this is my new.
- 56:29Speaker 4: Password, So I just like treat it like an idiot
- 56:31Speaker 4: and be like a stupid computer. Just you really thought
- 56:34Speaker 4: that was the same as one character vers twelve Oh
- 56:37Speaker 4: with love. Yeah, I'm gonna I have to find a
- 56:39Speaker 4: balance because so what do you think? You think it's
- 56:42Speaker 4: a curse or a gift?
- 56:43Speaker 2: Absolutely, no idea, Okay, no idea is not an answer.
- 56:47Speaker 3: That is a terrible answer.
- 56:48Speaker 5: Curse.
- 56:49Speaker 3: I think it's a curse.
- 56:49Speaker 2: It pisses me off, too.
- 56:50Speaker 3: Wrong. No, I knew if I'd love to slap in
- 56:54Speaker 3: the face. It's a splash of cold water, electrified curse.
- 56:59Speaker 3: We're also not mom line makes you feel alive? Oh
- 57:02Speaker 3: my god, nothing.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Does so fragile. I think we're too fragile.
- 57:06Speaker 3: You need that little shock that'll wake you up in
- 57:08Speaker 3: the morning of wrong, my brain does that format every day.
- 57:11Speaker 4: It shocks me with some some your new freaking thing
- 57:16Speaker 4: to think about that.
- 57:17Speaker 3: I don't like shock, sandy, Yeah, no, you need to
- 57:19Speaker 3: see that little red text wrong past or incorrect?
- 57:23Speaker 2: Actually too, you really think like you wouldn't be kind
- 57:26Speaker 2: of like on edge without that.
- 57:28Speaker 3: You think that's yes, absolutely really.
- 57:31Speaker 4: What if it has like all four at the same
- 57:32Speaker 4: time where it says, oh, you don't have any special characters?
- 57:35Speaker 4: It's not the same one. You put one thing in
- 57:38Speaker 4: and it just has a list of all these things
- 57:40Speaker 4: you're doing wrong. Immediately, it's like, give me a chance
- 57:43Speaker 4: to like prove myself first, like immediately, like it's that's that's,
- 57:46Speaker 4: that's our childhood.
- 57:47Speaker 3: You start to do something, No, you're wrong. Don't ever
- 57:49Speaker 3: do that again. You can't learn. I would just want
- 57:52Speaker 3: to learn. My computers keep me from doing that. Your
- 57:54Speaker 3: computer is actually kind of true at this point. The
- 58:00Speaker 3: amount I haven't learned due to my computer at this point,
- 58:03Speaker 3: it's pretty shocking. There was a huge period where I
- 58:05Speaker 3: was learning from it, and now it's over. The computer
- 58:08Speaker 3: does not allow me to go to their comfort zone,
- 58:11Speaker 3: have endless resources to learn on it, and yet it
- 58:14Speaker 3: doesn't happen. Okay, so you've gotten zero out of two,
- 58:18Speaker 3: so be very careful with this last one. This is
- 58:21Speaker 3: from a listener named Alison Gift. Or a curse when
- 58:23Speaker 3: people remove their high heels at weddings and dance in
- 58:26Speaker 3: their bare feet.
- 58:29Speaker 4: As someone who's seen a lot of Long Island weddings
- 58:33Speaker 4: where glass ends up on the dance floor multiple of those,
- 58:39Speaker 4: I'd say it's a curse, Like I get it, but
- 58:42Speaker 4: also It's like when you're driving, it's like you gotta
- 58:46Speaker 4: pay attention to the other people. Like it's not that
- 58:47Speaker 4: you're a bad driver. It's like not bad that you're
- 58:49Speaker 4: doing that, but other people drop their glasses, other people
- 58:52Speaker 4: make a mess and it's sticky and gross. So why
- 58:55Speaker 4: are you doing that to yourself? It's like the airport
- 58:58Speaker 4: in bare feet and like going through security, like why
- 59:00Speaker 4: are you doing that to yourself?
- 59:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess my question is what's the po V?
- 59:04Speaker 2: Because if it's like I'm an I'm a caterer at
- 59:06Speaker 2: the wedding.
- 59:07Speaker 4: Well caterers do that where they know that certainly a
- 59:11Speaker 4: curso for a catering company, Oh that's interesting. Yeah, to
- 59:17Speaker 4: get everyone on the dance floor, they take their heels off.
- 59:20Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on. I'm sorry, I'll be quiet.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Be quiet, okay. Like when if i'm if I'm catering
- 59:25Speaker 2: and I see a bunch of people like taking their
- 59:27Speaker 2: shoes off, I'm like, here we go, okay. You know,
- 59:30Speaker 2: maybe it's like a peace to look at or what
- 59:31Speaker 2: what do you mean?
- 59:32Speaker 7: Here we go?
- 59:32Speaker 2: It's a curse, like, oh god, the wedding's going, you know,
- 59:35Speaker 2: the way weddings go if I'm if I'm there and
- 59:37Speaker 2: I have high heels on, then I'm taking them off
- 59:39Speaker 2: and it's a gift because I don't want to wear
- 59:41Speaker 2: them anymore.
- 59:42Speaker 4: So you don't have an answer again, just checking checking,
- 59:47Speaker 4: carry as are these correct answers? Your answers are the
- 59:50Speaker 4: listeners answers universal.
- 59:55Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't mean, I don't make the
- 59:57Speaker 3: rules me, I don't know.
- 59:58Speaker 2: That was such a silly ques Like it's really hard
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: for us to be hearing you're getting zero right, and
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: we're like, we're gonna disappoint.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: What what are the rules? What's the like?
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: Oh no, in Germany's gonna be so disappointed.
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: He's our number one warner, any more disappointed in me
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: than he already is. The first words he said when
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: I landed and showed up at the like he picked
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: me up at the airport and he said, I thought
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: you'd be taller, and I thought your German would be better.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: That's the first two things he said.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: It's a very gay thing to say, right, And it's
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: like he could have been so fun that's so funny.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: Anyway, I think it's curse. I'm gonna say curse.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Correct You've got one right, total curse. You're not a
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: free spirit. Get real, Madison or whoever you are. This
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: isn't your rom calm. We don't need to see you
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: letting loose journey. If you wanted to dance, you shouldn't
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: have worn the shoes, or you should dance in the shoes,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: or you should have brought separate footwear. But I don't
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: want to see you barefoot on the dance floor living
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: it up with the flowers in your hair. It's annoying,
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: it's spilling grows.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I've been there, I've done that, so I
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: can say confidently I agree with you. Yeah, pretty gnarly.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: No, nobody wants that, and I think it's really we've
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: got to do away.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: We've got to figure it out.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: Weddings should have like a rental, like bowling shoes where
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: you go, like if you did wear.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: He anyone's just sliding and literally bowling shoes a size
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: twelve men's.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Blood every now, no socks allowed.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: The catering is barefoot disaster.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Oh well, you got one right. That's pretty good. That's
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: really good surprise. Yeah, that's an excellent score.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Three, I'll take it.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: Who could complain? About that, Ellis, do you have a
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: gift to a curse? I do. Elie is going to
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: do one where we all have to answer least levels
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: of playing field.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: He's left everyone to everyone else. You haven't given us a.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Gift or a curse.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: When Americans use military time.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: Oh no, oh, this is an interesting one for you guys.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: As someone who does it.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: You do that, he does that.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: But I was from when I my first iPhone was
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: when I lived in Germany, and so it was just
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: normal and I.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Left it that way.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: I love an angel number.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Yeah, so she'll be like eleven eleven. I'm like, it's
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: actually twenty three eleven right now.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: So that tells you all. You need to talk about me.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: All day long.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: It's like five fifty five. It's like, no, it's seventeen
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: fifty five right now.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: That's that's so. That's anyway. You are lucky. She keeps
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: you in her life.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: Every day it's like a new a. It's never the
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: same one. It's like, oh, it's eleven eleven. The next
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: day it's like, oh, it's different days.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I know, I know.
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: I'm just saying, it's just like none of them are
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: right on my phone I don't see.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Them, okay. Anyway, I dated a guy in the army,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: just yeah, and he was all about the military time,
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: and it became like such an annoyance to me, I
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: Especially if things were more military time in the US,
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: like if that was anyone actually used it for anything
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: at all other than military, Why are you doing it?
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Like, what's the point.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Unless you're like practicing to go true abroad and you
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: need to do the math.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: That was the first thing I did it to like
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: learn it, and now I got used to it.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it's what do you do?
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Show me your phone?
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: What's your I'm just a normal person, okay, okay, one one,
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: three guys thirteen thirteen thirteen.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Wow, military time.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: Thirteen thirteen. I can't be anything. Sound good.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: The page I told you to turn to was thirteen.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: So this all feels.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: The amount of curses that she brings up day to day.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: It's like, well invited to German witches on my podcast,
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: Thank you so Much, Clock Warlock.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: I saw myself in the antagonists of these children's stories.
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: I was like.
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: Hungry witch to the boy who didn't get enough soup,
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: so he died and there's this grave at the end
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: of the story.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: There's one where his grave has a ball of soup,
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: but because he didn't eat enough soup and.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: He died literally withered away like chows, him getting smaller
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: and smaller until he's like a grave.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's a curse. I think it's you know,
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: this is the sort of thing when somebody again, it's
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: like someone goes off for a semester of broad or whatever.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: They so interesting, they're off for six months. They're throwing
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: you into their words and they're doing the backwards dates.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Everyone hates them. Barcelona enough enough of that kind.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: No, I think it's a total curse. Yeah, when in Rome,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: come on, literally, except for I guess except for in
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: this particular Rome, they probably might they probably might be
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: helpful for that, right, that's only Yeah, that's tough. But yeah,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: I think it's a curse.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Thirteen enough. Yeah, it's absolutely a curse. It's always done
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: by some kid named Corey who likes to duty.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: You're not you're from Indiana. Call of duty.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Oh my god, you're from Indiana, Alexander, and you've got
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: to change your phone right now all time. Yeah, you're
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: getting roasted.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: This is rough a kid from Indiana playing Call of duty.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: Like if it were Ohio, it'd be me growing up.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: It's a very transition lenses definitely kind of thing. Oh boy, Yeah,
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: complete package. In hindsight, it was the right move all.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: I want to save myself a lot of like knee
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: pain and back pain.
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: I have a horrible posture, and I blame my backpack
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: and not my laziness and willingness to have good posture.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: We all won on that one. Yeah, for us, for
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: us for being right on some things. All right, I
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: need some help answering a question. People are writing into
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: I said no gives at gmail dot com with all
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: sorts of questions. Their lives are misses. We help me
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: answer something. I'll do my best. Okay, let's see here.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: But bu bu bu buh Okay. This is deer Bridger.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: My wife and I are moving from Georgia to Iowa
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: in March. We have five cats. The logistics are overwhelming.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: How do we transport all five cats across the country?
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: Do we drive fourteen hours straight stop at a cat
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: friendly hotel? How would that go? Help? And then they
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: give us the information here two cars, two people, five cats,
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: fourteen hours. Well, and that's from.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Hannah driving at sixty five miles per hour for six.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: Hours and the train is going. Okay, So Hannah, first
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: of all, I have a problem here when you say
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: across the country and you're saying from Georgia to Iowa,
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: that's not across the country. You it's east to west.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: If we're saying.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Across the country sort of, Yeah, that's not quite the same.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: That's not a lot, that's a lie you military time.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: Yeah, she's wrong.
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: What's your version of the country, Like, as if that's.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: And this person's allowed to drive it?
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: Crazy to me, at least there are no kids involved,
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: just cats, right five.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: So she and the wife are trying to get across,
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: not across debt. What is it job over from Georgia up,
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: They're trying to get up the country. They're climbing the country.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Middle America, crossing Middle America. Yeah, okay, I drove from
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: California to Kentucky with my cat. Now the old Goden
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: has become he's traumatized. It took him a while right
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: back in I don't want to be that guy, but
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: it did take him like three years to fait three
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: years to get back to like normal, And it was
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: terrible because it was we moved during COVID. It was
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: twenty twenty literally May, and we we're traveling and there
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: were no hotels open, and we had this cat and
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: a dog, and our poor cat was like so freaked out.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: My advice is keep them in the carrier, because everyone
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: says that, and then you're sitting there and you're like, oh,
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: but like he's so scared and sad, and I want
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: to just like open it a little bit and then
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: oh my god, hell breaks loose and we're on anyway,
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: be very careful because I thought I could like let
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: him poke his head out. Big mistake.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: That's a huge mistake. My friend was traveling with her
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: cats at the airport and she was at JFK and
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: they make you take the cats out. Oh she was
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: going to get on the plane. The cat's peed all
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: over her. No, this was before she got on the floor.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: Oh my god. So keep them in there, keep them in,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: keep them contained, even if they're freaking out, Like keep
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: them contained.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: But for fourteen hours, I guess you go to the
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: cat friendly hotel.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: You went to a cat fridly hotel. Dog for oh,
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: I don't know. It was just kind of like the
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: middle of COVID whatever we could find and then whatever
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: that roote is in the middle of nowhere, and we
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: stayed in like random places and just let the dog
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: and cat kind of run around.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: Just pee wherever they wanted, get this out of their system. Yeah,
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: she was like, the help will get it.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: And we brought They actually sell little litter boxes that
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: you can like then throw away, like they're like two
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: postable Yeah, and so we bought a bunch of those.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: So those are really handy because then you don't need
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: to like clean and have everything. There are definitely some
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: supplies you can CEBD.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: You know. I just actually affect them. I don't know.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: I love just try.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: I'm not ever try. I'm not doing this. I just
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: never do. Yeah. I like because they're so annoying sometimes.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Don't wake me up.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: It's going to give you drugs. That's what I do
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: on myself.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: Why not a cat? Of course.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: I wonder if it'll be better because they are now.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: I wonder how you split them up though in the cars.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: I think all of them in one car and the
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: other person gets to have the time of their life.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: I love that. Yeah, then you get divorced.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: That's perfect. Well yeah, but like you didn't have to
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: be in the car right exactly.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Exactly, because yeah, it's either one's going to be maybe
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: really loud, especially if they're screamers these cats. I love
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: a cat who yells, but not fourteen hours in the car,
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: So it might just be one car of screaming in
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: the other just a lovely time.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you just put them on a bus, yeah, to Iowa,
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: and then you too get to drive your cars. You
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: can follow the bus, cut the bus off if you
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: feel like and I'd love to cut off. Yeah, give.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: You know how you like to feel alive? And your
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: password is doing you just get a little jolt shop.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: You've got two cars, one person should absolutely have all
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: of the animals.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Cats go in one container or are they like they
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: go in.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: One tupperware container. Yeah, I did this.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: I didn't do it well and I so I I
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: just wanted to say cautionary tale. I think you've got
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: you're going to figure it out.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: You're just from my experience with cats, they're resilient, like
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: they're they they'll be fine. And I think like trying
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: not to put your own emotions and feelings on your cats,
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: because what you're dealing with watching them, it's like they
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: might not feel that way. They be a lot more
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: fine than you think.
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: And have to remember that they hate you. Yeah, no
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: matter what. Yeah, this isn't going to change much, right,
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: go to the vet. They might have something to give them. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: as a professional. Why are you asking here? Because you know,
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: because I am certified. I've refreshed my certificate every year
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: so I can speak to animal. You can help. I
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: can speak animal. Put the cats on the phone with
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: me the whole time, speak a.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: Podcast on the whole drive fourteen hours. That's a great,
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: great way to do it.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: Listen, Hannah, it's not going to work. Just stay in Georgia.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: Why are you moving to Iowa. That's a big problem.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: That's where I've hung up.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: You two are gonna have a lot of unhappy people
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: in the Midwest.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we've just like Middle America, several countries.
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: We're really happy with you Bridges.
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: At least we're from Ohio, you know. Whenever, when I
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: was from Ohio and then I moved to La so
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: did everyone else from Ohio, it felt like, but people
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: from Californian we're giving ship to Ohio and I'm like,
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: stop that only I can do that.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: But I feel like I feel like it's like one
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: of the safest, like there's really nothing to make fun
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: of with Ohio.
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: To me, it's like so.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: Because it's the most like boring seeming state and like
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: so high.
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: It's so big, though, I think it's because there's so
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: many people from Ohio and people don't underestimate how big
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: it is. That they interact with a lot more people
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: from Ohio than other states right from the Midwest, and
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: they're like, oh Ohio and is fucking suck or something.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: I don't know. I never been, but I'm I'm a fan.
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: It has a few great good cities and then a
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: bunch of not as good cities.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: I think it's pretty close to Kentucky.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: Has some great theme parks. Theme parks right a Cedar
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: Point Point, and then King's Island is our island.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: The beach water don't go to that one defunct.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: I think my life of going to water parks is
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: probably think that's for the best for all that.
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: I don't know when that happened for me, but I'm
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: I don't want to was.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: The last day and the best, right, it just felt
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: too gross.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: Yeah, there's some you're asking for it at a water park,
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: that's right. Cautionary, cautionary that will be in the shock
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: haired man's next destination. Well, I've got my thing, my book.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: I'm going to learn a lot of lessons here. Maybe
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: I can finally begin living my life in a way
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: that's correct to gay German. Grandpositive, that's what we're hoping for, right,
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: We can't do it. So now you to have failed
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: in such a huge way way. I'm going to be
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: using that in home. Urine Oald before me.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Wow, the time he found a replacement.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: I've had such a lovely time with you too, Thank you,
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: thank you for having us listener. We're closing up shop here.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: I'm sweeping. I'm hoping you'll leave so I can go
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: home to your match box back. I can tuck myself
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: into my match box and fall asleep Z. But you
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: can move on with your day. I'm releasing you. I

- 1:14:21Speaker 2: I invit?
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: Did you hear?
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Funa Man myself perfectly clear.
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: When you're a.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Guest to me, you gotta come to me empty.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: And I said, no guests, Your presences presents enough and
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: I already too much stuff, So how do
