Transcript
- Rachel K: It's day 113 of the Travel Agency in your podcast. And ⁓ my gosh, the audio is so weird. It's weird. It's fine. I'm like filming this at night. It's fine. And I'm not concerned. It's late. So today, again, back to day 109, I talked about different strategies you should consider for your travel agency. And today I'm gonna be talking about diversifying your marketing and why. And if you've listened to past episodes, I have been talking about all of this for like, how many months is this? Three and a half months? Dang near three and a half months. I am not saying, I think this is gonna actually be like a repeat of another episode. I have so many notes I can't even go back and verify. It's fine. I'm not saying. that you need to post content everywhere all at once. What I am saying is you need to be flexible in the content that you develop, like the type of content you develop, so you have the ability to cross post to other platforms. What's cross posting? Great question. Cross posting is when you just make a piece of content on one platform and usually if it's video, you can download it and just post it anywhere else. It may or may not have the... watermark from the original platform. If it's ⁓ like a written content, you can just copy it and paste it somewhere else. Right? Yeah, sure. Now, I am gonna talk about this today. think, like I said, friendly reminder if you are like, bitch, you already said this, come up with some new shit. I have 365 episodes, okay? I'm gonna repeat some stuff sometimes. One piece of content, seven different places, let's get into it. When you are marketing, remember, if you have listened to any of my previous episodes that talk about your ICA and I talk about how you need to go, Fix this dang old lighting. You need to go where they, nope, that just made it worse. You need to go where they go for, not where they go in general, but where they go when they are like, I'm done with life, I can't find a solution, I'm gonna chill out here, or maybe I'm gonna try this one last resource. Where is that, okay? You do not have to be everywhere all at once, but we're gonna talk about how you can create one piece of content and turn it into seven different pieces of content that can be posted to two to three different platforms. Please do not create, I mean, can like steal the handle for the accounts so no one else takes your handle. Just go create them quick. And if you need to pivot because your ICA is pivoting, A days ago I talked about how social media platforms do change based on pretty much the younger. Them young kids, wherever they want to go, they're secretly hiding out. That's for like three years. And then someone about 25 is like, ⁓ here's this. This is cool. And then they tell all their friends and then it just spreads all the way down. And so like the younger... clientele that you might have are gonna be on a different platform than most of other people, right? So if you have your handles already held and taken, no one else can take your name, that's good. And if you need to pivot your marketing strategy, you already have your account. Hopefully you saved the password in like your password manager thingy, like one password or whatever software you use for that. But you do not have to consistently post three times a day to every single platform. Okay? If you want to be like, like if you're just like selling something rinse and repeat, something evergreen that you never have to worry about again, yeah, spam everyone's platform, like spam the social media with your content because that will make you a millionaire. Just spam, spam, spam. Doesn't even, studies have shown with regards to social media marketing. Your content can be absolute garbage tier, doesn't make any sense. But if you're selling something to make a quick buck and you spam everywhere all the time, you will make a lot more money than someone who puts actual thought and whatever into their content, right? Like it's been statistically proven. You can have like, you picking your nose, but if you're like, bye bye bye bye, 17 times a day, or like, I'm so important, bye bye bye, follow me, do what I do, you're gonna be a millionaire. That's regardless of what you're offering, okay? So just know that. But also know... Can you handle that many trips? Most likely not. So let's scale it down a little bit. You do not have to be everywhere at once. Be where your ICA is. If you are doing weddings and honeymoons, Pinterest is probably an okay place for you to be because they're gonna go there for inspiration. And if you have past wedding content or how to book a honeymoon, like a good guide, Something like that that they can pin and save for later. That's probably an option. ⁓ It could be, yeah. If you are... really good at video content, then you're gonna wanna go on one of the platforms with videos. If you like writing, there are plenty of written platforms. Okay, back to, I just, I'm. digressing big with time, it's okay. So one piece of content, seven different ways, two to three different platforms, this is what I'm trying to get at. Please do not try to post everywhere and be everywhere at once. Unless, like I said, have like something, if you wanna sell like your packing list, then yes, do that. You will make a lot of money. just spamming it everywhere like bye bye bye bye bye. But if you're actually looking to book trips, don't worry about being everywhere at once. It's okay. Not being everywhere at once makes you more of like a luxury. There are certain brands in different industries that are very quiet with their advertising. And they are very, very high end. Okay, any hoodle. One piece of content, this is what I ideally like to do. I'm not the best at practicing it and I know it works. So record a video. Do what I'm doing right now. I'm in my office. I am hanging out with my little podcast gear. This podcast gear set up was not expensive if you want to get a mic, but you can get a mic too, like any old mic. ⁓ Record the video. Make it like 15 or 20 minutes. Then have it in a good software. if you care, I'm using Riverside because I'm, I guess it's okay. There's Descript, there's a lot of different platforms that can help you with this kind of stuff. I don't know how I feel about Riverside. That is neither here nor there. So far, it's all right. Then you get the transcript, okay? And this, I'm gonna, I'm going to talk about this specifically from Riverside.fm. You get the transcript and you have the video. You can edit it if you want. You can add like music or whatever. don't add whatever. Don't use their AI generated title screens because it makes me look like not me at all in my experience and it makes no sense. I'm like, nevermind. I did do that at beginning of this podcast series. Okay. So you have your video. You can edit the video. You can get the transcript. And if you wanted to start a podcast for whatever your niche is, it'll from Riverside, put it out on the podcast land. It'll connect to your YouTube and put it out in the YouTube land. And it will also generate what it's called magic clips, which are like 30, 60, 90 second clips. And some of them are like two minute clips because I've noticed for some reason, at the time of recording this, YouTube is also fine with like a five minute clip of your podcast, just like. on your channel, right? I feel like it warms people up, like the short form 30 second stuff, kind of gets their attention. And then if they like listen to five to 10 minutes, they're like, ⁓ this is really good. And then they go to like the two hour episodes. I think that's the strategy there, but I don't really know. And can any of us really talk for two hours straight? I can cause I bulk record these, but I don't want to take up that much of your time. Okay. Anyway, so this software does all of this for you. You record the content. It'll even have like a teleprompter if you're like, can't just talk, but it'll have a teleprompter opportunity so you can record your video. You can get the transcript. That's important to over here. You can have little magic clips that are 30, 60, 90 seconds long of each video. You can then, so we got three pieces of content, like types of content. It'll do shorter. longer short form video if that makes sense. pull like if you have a 20 minute video, it'll pull five minute clip for you. Where was I? Oh, yes. And you can upload it to your podcast and you're like, but Rachel, that's only five. Where's the other two? Oh, more fair. It's in the transcripts. You can take the transcripts. Revise the transcript of your episode, and now you have a blog post where you can link your YouTube video in, or a Reddit post if you have a subreddit, or a very long Facebook group post. So you have that and then you can go through the best parts of the transcript and you can make that your short form written content. Well, bam, seven pieces of content from 20 minutes of your time recording, not coming up with the content, not coming up with what you're talking about, not editing it, not scheduling it all out. But for about 20 minutes of your time, you've created a weeks if you were just like, I'm going to post once a day. You have seven pieces of content. It would probably take you two hours max to get all of this ready to go and you can share ⁓ Your short form on two different platforms if you want to do multiple platforms write your short form video in two different platforms Your long form like the full video and like the clips that are like five minutes You're probably gonna want to just have on YouTube. So there's two platforms and then you have your blog three platforms and if you wanted to take the bits of the transcripts and you have written for like, like you could have your blog on your website or on Substack, but you could also have this for like Facebook or like a little Pinterest thing and then pin a short form video with it. How great is that? How great is that? And that is how you're diversifying your marketing because you're showing up on multiple platforms without doing additional work and you're not everywhere. You can only, you only really have to be on like two or three, right? You don't have to do all those things. I'm just saying, look at what you can do. Say you really suck at writing, but you have no problem just recording. and you don't want the videos to go out there, okay, record yourself. Take the transcript, pop it into a clod and be like, turn this into a blog post, edit quick, done. But if you needed that video content, it's there. And so I'm talking about riverside.fm because it's what I'm using for Elevate with Rachel K. Stuff and this podcast and... I think it's helpful. know there's other platforms out there and I think even if you're like, I don't have a podcast, I think it's a very helpful tool. It has an app on the phone so you can do your short form in there too and it'll like help you with captions. It is AI so you want to revise it, but it's very, very helpful and it takes much less time than trying to just like back in the day I used to have to use I used to have to use a video editor and an audio editor and then I'd have to get the transcript and it was like this crappy like Microsoft notepad format. it was terrible. So I'm very, I think this or any other like podcasting style of tool, software, whatever, would be very helpful for your social media marketing in general. All right. Why are you gonna diversify your marketing? Because you want to show up, like you're gonna show up in the algorithm, right? And maybe they're like, ⁓ that's nice, but I'm not really into that now. And then later on, you pop up in another little spot and they'll be like, ⁓ yeah, that is interesting, okay. And then they go back to the other platform and then they see you again and they're like, ⁓ third time's a charm, time to book a consultation. It's kind of like, Let's say you're just scrolling along on something and you're like, oh, I really like that purse. That's a really pretty purse. If you're a guy, that's a great watch. I don't know what guys like. Sorry. That's an awesome man bag. Merse. Alright. Anyway, that's a great purse. And then you're on a different, like maybe you see it on your desktop if you're just like scrolling, taking a little break from work and you're like, ⁓ that's a cool purse, it's on sale, whatever. And then you go, because you need to do some shopping, so you open up like your Amazon app and then it's like deals for you and it shows that purse and you're like, interesting. And then you're on some other like short form video thing on your phone. I'm not saying within five minutes of each other, but like over the course of several days, maybe weeks, and then you see like a user generated content thing for that purse again. And you're like, okay, well, this is a sign. I gotta buy that purse. The same thing could happen for your business because you're showing up a little bit where they go. multiple platforms. Now in that case there's three different platforms because Amazon's a thing. In that fact, we aren't advertising on Amazon. I would be not happy if Amazon was like, no, businesses can just advertise anything. But if you have like two platforms and they see your written content, they're gonna be like, great. Grand, lovely. They're probably not gonna read your written content first. I think... and I'm not a professional, I think it would be wise to have short form video and also some bloggy written and long form video if you can because they're gonna see the short form video first when they're doing the old doom scroll and then when they're like, I gotta stop doom scrolling, I'm gonna read, then they're probably gonna go to Reddit or Substack or maybe Google or ChatGVT and find your blog. But then they might also find in that piece of content a link to your long before video. And then you're gonna show up on their YouTube, because your long before video is on their YouTube. So when you click that link, the next time they log into YouTube, more of your shorts are gonna be popping up. And more of your videos are gonna be popping up in their face. Mmm, mmm. That's why you diversify your marketing, okay? 18 minutes to tell you that. Thanks for making it this long. Okay, have a great day. I'll see you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Bye.
