- 0:34SPEAKER_17: And it's great.
- 0:34SPEAKER_17: Get that out.
- 0:36SPEAKER_18: Nice, nice rhyme.
- 0:38SPEAKER_18: Oh, that was loud.
- 0:39SPEAKER_09: That was loud.
- 0:40SPEAKER_09: Sorry.
- 0:41SPEAKER_09: Um and I put it in some freight.
- 0:45SPEAKER_09: Oh, geez of crow! I gotta turn that down.
- 0:50SPEAKER_09: Oh, that's better.
- 0:51SPEAKER_17: Oh my goodness.
- 0:52SPEAKER_17: Not that we're completely deaf.
- 0:54SPEAKER_17: We're just all just kamboobulated.
- 0:58SPEAKER_18: Completely deaf.
- 0:59SPEAKER_18: I'm I'm I'm uh you got an ear thing, man.
- 1:03SPEAKER_18: So yeah, I was I was telling Doug, so I went, I finally went to remember I was sick on the podcast last week.
- 1:08SPEAKER_18: And I was just putting up with it, you know, because I knew it's just it's gonna go away.
- 1:12SPEAKER_18: I'm just it's a cold, you know.
- 1:14SPEAKER_18: And then days and days and days, and then it was like today was the probably seventh or eighth day that I had a sore throat from like postnasal drip.
- 1:24SPEAKER_18: And um in the middle of last week, I got an ear infection.
- 1:29SPEAKER_18: And I knew it was an ear infection, it was a clogged ear.
- 1:31SPEAKER_18: Yeah, didn't hurt too much, only a couple times, and then very little, but I knew it was plugged, so I but I was stubborn, even though Jenna was telling me, You go get you should go to the doctor.
- 1:43SPEAKER_18: I did, you should go to the doctor.
- 1:45SPEAKER_18: Yeah, I know I'll wait it out, of course.
- 1:47SPEAKER_18: I didn't wait it out, and today I'm just like, I'm sick of this.
- 1:51SPEAKER_18: So I went to the walk-in, got some antibiotics.
- 1:54SPEAKER_18: So hopefully in the next few days my ear will clear and I won't have a sore throat and all that good stuff.
- 2:00SPEAKER_17: That'll be good.
- 2:00SPEAKER_17: Yes.
- 2:02SPEAKER_18: So um yeah, that's what I did today.
- 2:04SPEAKER_18: And you know what else I did today?
- 2:06SPEAKER_18: What'd you do?
- 2:07SPEAKER_18: I met with uh Joko's mom.
- 2:10SPEAKER_18: Oh, yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_18: Well, okay.
- 2:11SPEAKER_18: And here's why I met with Joko's mom.
- 2:13SPEAKER_18: All right, because she she was trying to get rid of stuff.
- 2:18SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 2:18SPEAKER_18: She's like, Do you have any need for these?
- 2:20SPEAKER_18: Well, actually, she sent me uh an email once, uh, one one first, and it was a couple of guitar stands.
- 2:26SPEAKER_18: Oh.
- 2:26SPEAKER_18: And I said, I'm sure I could find a use for them.
- 2:29SPEAKER_18: Oh, yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_18: You know, and I said, How much do you want for them?
- 2:31SPEAKER_18: And she told me, and I said, Yeah.
- 2:33SPEAKER_18: Those that's I mean, this was pretty cheap.
- 2:34SPEAKER_18: There's three guitar stands, two two regular guitar stands, and then uh like a three guitar stand.
- 2:40SPEAKER_18: So yeah, it's kind of cool.
- 2:42SPEAKER_18: Um, but you know, I'm trying to start this thing at the high school, and I figured, you know, I can I can bring those in there.
- 2:47SPEAKER_18: So I said, sure.
- 2:48SPEAKER_18: And then a day or so later, she sends me this picture.
- 2:52SPEAKER_18: She says, know anyone that wants this?
- 2:54SPEAKER_18: And I said, uh, well, uh I'm trying to start this thing up at the high school.
- 3:00SPEAKER_18: I mean, how much do you want for it?
- 3:01SPEAKER_18: This one's a freebie.
- 3:03SPEAKER_18: And it was Josh's acoustic guitar.
- 3:06SPEAKER_18: The black one?
- 3:07SPEAKER_18: Is it it's a black sunburst?
- 3:09SPEAKER_18: It's like uh it's it's a magnum.
- 3:11SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, that was his very first guitar.
- 3:13SPEAKER_18: Yeah, so I I almost kind of partly bought it just because I want to keep his first guitar.
- 3:18SPEAKER_09: Well, yeah, I mean it's kind of special.
- 3:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:21SPEAKER_18: Um, and it's so it's in my car.
- 3:23SPEAKER_18: That's a good boy.
- 3:24SPEAKER_18: There's no there's no case or anything.
- 3:25SPEAKER_18: Yeah, I didn't think it's pretty beat up.
- 3:27SPEAKER_18: Yeah, it's pretty beat up.
- 3:28SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it was pretty beat up when he first started playing it.
- 3:30SPEAKER_18: But I I figure, you know, I mean, if somebody at the school can get use out of it, and it's still gonna stay with me, but we'll bring it to the school.
- 3:36SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 3:37SPEAKER_18: So I didn't tell the wife, you know, I got another guitar today.
- 3:40SPEAKER_09: But it's not really for you.
- 3:41SPEAKER_18: It's not for me.
- 3:42SPEAKER_18: It's not for me.
- 3:43SPEAKER_18: But eventually it may live at this house.
- 3:46SPEAKER_18: Well, you know.
- 3:47SPEAKER_18: With all this adjustment.
- 3:48SPEAKER_09: Although, you know, I'm thinking this is this is like a shelter for you know unwanted instruments.
- 3:53SPEAKER_18: Here's the thing I'm thinking though, uh I'm I'm wondering if I'm I'm gonna unload a couple of these.
- 3:58SPEAKER_18: Because like I have I have a um well, I don't know if I've ever showed you this this one.
- 4:05SPEAKER_18: I have a a couple pictures because I took up a couple pictures that uh because I was thinking about selling.
- 4:12SPEAKER_18: Thinking about getting rid of a couple of these.
- 4:14SPEAKER_18: Uh oh, I should tell you that story too.
- 4:16SPEAKER_18: Um where is it?
- 4:19SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 4:19SPEAKER_18: So it is a epiphone Nighthawk.
- 4:24SPEAKER_18: Did I ever show you that one?
- 4:25SPEAKER_09: Uh maybe.
- 4:27SPEAKER_09: It doesn't look familiar, but yeah.
- 4:29SPEAKER_18: Anyway, I don't use it.
- 4:32SPEAKER_18: Um right now it's at the high school for for the band kids to use, the modern band kids.
- 4:37SPEAKER_18: Um I may I may sell that.
- 4:41SPEAKER_18: And I may sell this telecaster.
- 4:44SPEAKER_18: I mean, I'm only gonna get a couple hundred dollars out of them.
- 4:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 4:47unknown: But I don't know.
- 4:49SPEAKER_18: Maybe if I maybe if I get four or five hundred dollars, maybe I can buy another good one.
- 4:54SPEAKER_18: Buy another good one.
- 4:56SPEAKER_09: So it's it's it's musician math.
- 4:59SPEAKER_09: It is this one plus this one equals that one.
- 5:02SPEAKER_09: But so I'm getting rid of two and getting another one.
- 5:05SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I mean it makes I mean you don't have to explain yourself to me.
- 5:08SPEAKER_09: I I mean I get it, you know, but to the regular old civilian, yeah, they don't understand.
- 5:15SPEAKER_09: No, no.
- 5:16SPEAKER_09: They're like, you're gonna sell two guitars to buy another guitar.
- 5:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 5:20SPEAKER_09: Well I don't understand.
- 5:22SPEAKER_09: Well, you don't understand because you don't play.
- 5:24SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 5:24SPEAKER_09: That's why you don't understand.
- 5:26SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 5:26SPEAKER_09: Now, why don't you go away and leave me alone?
- 5:29SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 5:30SPEAKER_09: With my new with my new awesome guitar.
- 5:32SPEAKER_18: It is gas.
- 5:33SPEAKER_18: It's gear acquisition syndrome.
- 5:35SPEAKER_18: It is, I mean, it's a it's a real thing.
- 5:37SPEAKER_18: And you know, my wife, you know, if I'm I always say my wife doesn't listen to this podcast, but she surprises me on a regular basis.
- 5:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah, she's probably like, Doug is an idiot.
- 5:45SPEAKER_09: Why do you let him in this house?
- 5:46SPEAKER_09: And you're like, Well, what do you say now?
- 5:48SPEAKER_18: No, she you know, between the two of us, I think she would think I'm the bigger idiot.
- 5:52SPEAKER_18: Anyway.
- 5:53SPEAKER_09: Well, yeah, I mean, she knows you better.
- 5:54SPEAKER_18: Yeah, this is true.
- 5:55SPEAKER_18: You know, so um so I don't know.
- 5:59SPEAKER_18: I I and I may not get another guitar.
- 6:02SPEAKER_18: I may just unload.
- 6:03SPEAKER_09: Maybe you get a banjo.
- 6:04SPEAKER_18: No, I have a banjo.
- 6:05SPEAKER_18: Mandolin.
- 6:06SPEAKER_09: I have two.
- 6:07SPEAKER_09: A loot.
- 6:08SPEAKER_09: Okay, a loot.
- 6:10SPEAKER_09: Then we can start a medieval band.
- 6:13SPEAKER_18: No, but uh maybe I'll just unload a little bit.
- 6:15SPEAKER_09: That is why we're gonna party like it's$15.99.
- 6:20SPEAKER_18: Maybe I'll just unload a couple guitars.
- 6:22SPEAKER_18: You know, maybe I just I'll, you know, and put the money towards drums.
- 6:29SPEAKER_09: Well, you could.
- 6:30SPEAKER_09: Why not?
- 6:31SPEAKER_09: You still got that drum set back?
- 6:33SPEAKER_09: I do.
- 6:33SPEAKER_09: It's uh it's at the high school.
- 6:34SPEAKER_09: Oh, that drum set's at the high school now?
- 6:36SPEAKER_18: Yeah, okay.
- 6:36SPEAKER_18: They're doing it, using it for modern band.
- 6:38SPEAKER_18: Oh, that'll make sense.
- 6:38SPEAKER_18: Because Finn doesn't play as much anymore as he still wants to.
- 6:42SPEAKER_18: Every once in a while he'll say, Can I go to the high school to play drums?
- 6:45SPEAKER_18: You know, and if I can make it happen, I do.
- 6:47SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_18: So he does play.
- 6:49SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 6:49SPEAKER_09: Um, but uh Do you have like access to the high school after hours?
- 6:53SPEAKER_18: Oh, yeah.
- 6:53SPEAKER_18: Well you do it.
- 6:53SPEAKER_18: I can go in there anytime I want.
- 6:55SPEAKER_18: Wow.
- 6:55unknown: Cool.
- 6:55SPEAKER_18: Well, actually, I I um bring Finn to the gym uh every morning at six, and he goes to the weight room.
- 7:02SPEAKER_18: Oh.
- 7:02SPEAKER_18: And I have access to the weight room.
- 7:04SPEAKER_18: I can go at three in the morning if I want.
- 7:06SPEAKER_09: Why would you do that?
- 7:07SPEAKER_18: I don't know.
- 7:07SPEAKER_18: I'm just saying three in the morning, man.
- 7:09SPEAKER_18: I'm just saying.
- 7:10SPEAKER_18: If I wanted to.
- 7:11SPEAKER_09: Oh, I I okay.
- 7:12SPEAKER_09: Well, yeah, I can see that.
- 7:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 7:14SPEAKER_09: Normally I'm up, you know, going to the bathroom at three in the morning.
- 7:16SPEAKER_17: Actually, I have access to all the schools.
- 7:18SPEAKER_17: Except Zipple.
- 7:19SPEAKER_09: Well, you should go get up and go to the bathroom and go to the school and go to the bathroom there.
- 7:24SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 7:24SPEAKER_09: Save water here.
- 7:25SPEAKER_09: See, that's what that's what I'm thinking.
- 7:27SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 7:28SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 7:28SPEAKER_09: Smart.
- 7:29SPEAKER_09: And then you put that money towards a new guitar.
- 7:31SPEAKER_18: Work smarter, not harder.
- 7:33SPEAKER_18: Peace.
- 7:36SPEAKER_18: Yeah, so um, yeah, so I don't know what I'm gonna do.
- 7:40SPEAKER_18: But uh, I thought that was kind of cool that I got Josh's uh first guitar.
- 7:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's it.
- 7:43SPEAKER_18: I'm not even sure he knows it or not.
- 7:45SPEAKER_18: He must know it.
- 7:46SPEAKER_09: I would assume he does.
- 7:47SPEAKER_09: He's just he you know he's got so much going on.
- 7:49SPEAKER_09: He does, you know.
- 7:50SPEAKER_09: That's that's like so far.
- 7:51SPEAKER_09: That's like so far back and yeah, the million other things he's got going on.
- 7:56SPEAKER_18: So did you see Dennis shared some pictures on Facebook?
- 7:59SPEAKER_18: Did you see them?
- 8:00SPEAKER_18: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:00SPEAKER_18: Pretty cool.
- 8:01SPEAKER_09: I think it's so cool.
- 8:02SPEAKER_18: Yeah, yeah, very cool.
- 8:03SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 8:04SPEAKER_18: Um what else is going on?
- 8:07SPEAKER_18: We have uh rehearsal tomorrow.
- 8:08SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 8:09SPEAKER_18: We're recording this on a Tuesday, so we have rehearsal tomorrow um for our big gig at the Allstate Music Conference.
- 8:16SPEAKER_09: Is that what it is?
- 8:17SPEAKER_09: A conference?
- 8:18SPEAKER_09: I thought it was like a festival.
- 8:19SPEAKER_18: Well, Allstate Music Festival, but there are so what it is is if you have students that are that made it to Allstate, you know, they auditioned and they made it into Allstate.
- 8:29SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 8:29SPEAKER_18: Um they go and they sing and they rehearse or whatever, and then they put on this big concert.
- 8:35SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 8:35SPEAKER_18: Well, while they're there doing that, you as the teacher, you go to all these workshops.
- 8:40SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 8:40SPEAKER_18: And you learn.
- 8:41SPEAKER_18: So it's like a professional development uh couple days.
- 8:45SPEAKER_18: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:46SPEAKER_09: That doesn't work though.
- 8:48SPEAKER_09: All state conference and festival.
- 8:51SPEAKER_09: All all state conference, no, all state what'd you just say?
- 8:57SPEAKER_09: Professional development.
- 8:58SPEAKER_09: All state professional development and festival.
- 9:00SPEAKER_09: No, see it doesn't work.
- 9:02SPEAKER_09: It doesn't work.
- 9:02SPEAKER_09: So you gotta you gotta you gotta jazz up the professional development part.
- 9:06SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 9:06SPEAKER_09: You gotta you gotta be like all state adult fun.
- 9:11SPEAKER_09: Nope, can't do that.
- 9:12SPEAKER_18: No, can't do that.
- 9:13SPEAKER_09: Uh all state learning stuff slash festival.
- 9:21SPEAKER_18: Do you know my favorite part of of uh going to Allstate?
- 9:24SPEAKER_18: And my wife's gonna kill me for this.
- 9:26SPEAKER_18: Going to Bolmoose.
- 9:27SPEAKER_18: She won't kill me for this, and she'll understand.
- 9:29SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 9:30SPEAKER_18: My favorite part?
- 9:30SPEAKER_09: Bonus.
- 9:31SPEAKER_09: No.
- 9:32SPEAKER_09: Sleep in a hotel room by yourself?
- 9:33SPEAKER_18: Yes.
- 9:34SPEAKER_18: Yes.
- 9:34SPEAKER_18: Totally get it.
- 9:35SPEAKER_18: Although I've been I've been sleeping in my bed by myself for like the last five, six, maybe even seven days.
- 9:40SPEAKER_18: Well, it's because you have the black plague.
- 9:42SPEAKER_18: Exactly.
- 9:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:43SPEAKER_18: So she's been she's been kind of sleeping on the couch, and I don't know when that's gonna change.
- 9:47SPEAKER_18: She's probably sleeping better, actually.
- 9:49SPEAKER_09: She's probably like, ah, this is great.
- 9:50SPEAKER_18: Sleeping on the couch.
- 9:52SPEAKER_18: Um But yeah.
- 9:54SPEAKER_18: So uh so yeah, I'm looking forward to that.
- 9:56SPEAKER_18: We just gonna we gotta pick the right music, and uh we're working on that tomorrow, I think.
- 10:02SPEAKER_18: Um Yeah.
- 10:03SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 10:03SPEAKER_09: Well, we should.
- 10:04SPEAKER_09: Well, I mean we've got to get it down.
- 10:05SPEAKER_09: I mean, we only got a month.
- 10:06SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 10:07SPEAKER_09: Literally, uh it's a month from today.
- 10:08SPEAKER_18: It is.
- 10:09SPEAKER_18: So um we gotta get our ducks in a row.
- 10:13SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 10:13SPEAKER_09: Or at least in the same pond.
- 10:14SPEAKER_18: And Skinny Elvis has has a gig or two coming up here.
- 10:18SPEAKER_18: We think.
- 10:18SPEAKER_18: We have no idea.
- 10:19SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's been it's been a roller coaster of scheduling.
- 10:23SPEAKER_18: Okay, so I want to tell you about um a message I got from our our bass player.
- 10:29SPEAKER_09: Um not our The Groovemaster.
- 10:32SPEAKER_18: Yeah, John.
- 10:34SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_18: Yeah, not Shane.
- 10:35SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 10:35SPEAKER_18: Um because Shane's our bass player.
- 10:39SPEAKER_09: John's our other bass player.
- 10:40SPEAKER_18: Exactly.
- 10:40SPEAKER_09: That's why I like that.
- 10:42SPEAKER_18: Shane is T B player.
- 10:43SPEAKER_18: T B player.
- 10:44SPEAKER_18: He's T B player, and then John's just T-O player.
- 10:47SPEAKER_18: No, T O B.
- 10:48SPEAKER_07: Well, he's the Groove Master now.
- 10:49SPEAKER_18: The groove master, okay.
- 10:50SPEAKER_18: So um so the Groovemaster mailed me, uh emailed me, and because we we're talking about doing this uh do you remember this conference uh that in Bangor, the Bangor area in October?
- 11:04SPEAKER_09: I've heard it mentioned in passing, but I really don't understand what it is.
- 11:08SPEAKER_18: Okay, and I don't either.
- 11:09SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 11:10SPEAKER_18: Um but I know that he put our our name in there and now who's uh uh Skinny Elvis is a name?
- 11:16SPEAKER_18: No, no, that's the thing.
- 11:17SPEAKER_18: It's it's basically Reverend Funk.
- 11:20SPEAKER_18: Oh um because and he had said he had said uh they want 80s rock.
- 11:30SPEAKER_18: And I said, what kind of 80s rock?
- 11:34SPEAKER_18: Like hairband or you know, like what kind of 80s rock?
- 11:40SPEAKER_18: Oh I don't know, I'll find out.
- 11:41SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 11:42SPEAKER_18: So I'm thinking, well, it's can't it can't be.
- 11:44SPEAKER_18: I mean it's a conference, they can't want like hairband, I guess.
- 11:49SPEAKER_18: And can we do hairband?
- 11:52SPEAKER_18: We've we've yeah.
- 11:54SPEAKER_18: So he's he messages me today because apparently he heard from someone down there.
- 11:58SPEAKER_18: They haven't made a decision whether they're gonna hire us or not.
- 12:01SPEAKER_18: Um he says, know any white snake?
- 12:05SPEAKER_18: They'd love some white snake at that conference.
- 12:09SPEAKER_18: And I said, Jeez, I've got time to learn it, I guess.
- 12:12SPEAKER_18: Do we have the gig?
- 12:14SPEAKER_18: Not officially.
- 12:15SPEAKER_18: We should know soon though.
- 12:16SPEAKER_18: They only meet every few weeks as a committee, so it won't be official till they meet next time.
- 12:20SPEAKER_18: I'm glad I got an answer of what kind of 80s they want.
- 12:22SPEAKER_18: Some hair metal, I guess.
- 12:24SPEAKER_18: We don't have to only do that, but a song on that's in that style would make them happy.
- 12:29SPEAKER_18: Uh we also have Melissa and Sarah.
- 12:31SPEAKER_18: It's like the non-horn group um minus a couple people.
- 12:36SPEAKER_18: So it's basically Reverend Funk.
- 12:39SPEAKER_18: I don't even know if Anthony is involved.
- 12:42SPEAKER_18: I'm not sure.
- 12:43SPEAKER_18: But it's Am I involved?
- 12:44SPEAKER_18: Yes, you are, yeah, of course you are.
- 12:46SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 12:46SPEAKER_18: Yeah, because I said one of the things I said was the question is can Doug sing White Snake?
- 12:50SPEAKER_18: And he says, Well, we also have Melissa.
- 12:53SPEAKER_18: And I said, Can Melissa sing White Snake?
- 12:56SPEAKER_18: Yeah, can Melissa sing White Snake?
- 12:58SPEAKER_18: I don't know.
- 12:58SPEAKER_18: I mean she's good.
- 12:59SPEAKER_18: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:00SPEAKER_09: I don't doubt she could.
- 13:01SPEAKER_18: I bet she could.
- 13:01SPEAKER_18: I bet you could, actually, depending on what song it was.
- 13:03SPEAKER_18: Yeah, yeah, depending on what song it was.
- 13:06SPEAKER_18: Um but hairband is what they're looking for.
- 13:11SPEAKER_18: 80s rock hairband.
- 13:12SPEAKER_09: So so what is this?
- 13:14SPEAKER_09: I have no idea.
- 13:14SPEAKER_09: You still have no idea.
- 13:15SPEAKER_09: No, I have no idea.
- 13:16SPEAKER_09: Is John making this up?
- 13:18SPEAKER_09: I don't I don't think so.
- 13:20SPEAKER_09: Is it is this a committee in his head?
- 13:24SPEAKER_18: Maybe.
- 13:25SPEAKER_09: It's like John's committee of awesomeness.
- 13:27SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 13:28SPEAKER_18: I mean some of that hairband stuff, I it can't be too difficult.
- 13:33SPEAKER_09: No, I mean it can be.
- 13:35SPEAKER_09: I mean, but you know, it's I just wish I knew what this was for.
- 13:39SPEAKER_18: Me too.
- 13:40SPEAKER_09: Then I could understand better what you know what what is going on and what they actually want.
- 13:44SPEAKER_18: I will tell you it's a relatively big payday for us.
- 13:47SPEAKER_09: Well, I don't care about that.
- 13:48SPEAKER_09: I just want to know what's going on.
- 13:50SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 13:50SPEAKER_18: So what I'm saying is it must be kind of a big conference.
- 13:53SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 13:54SPEAKER_09: Well, that's fun.
- 13:55SPEAKER_09: I mean is it is it like a dance?
- 13:58SPEAKER_09: Is it they're just going to sit there and watch us make fools of ourselves?
- 14:03SPEAKER_09: We try hairband?
- 14:04SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I don't know.
- 14:04SPEAKER_09: Are they gonna critique us?
- 14:07SPEAKER_09: I doubt that.
- 14:08SPEAKER_09: Well, no, is it like America's got talent?
- 14:10SPEAKER_09: Is it this kind of thing?
- 14:11SPEAKER_18: I don't doubt that.
- 14:12SPEAKER_18: I bet is it a music conference type thing?
- 14:14SPEAKER_18: I don't think so.
- 14:15SPEAKER_18: I don't I don't have the answers.
- 14:16SPEAKER_18: This is weird, man.
- 14:18SPEAKER_18: I don't have the answer.
- 14:18SPEAKER_18: Well, you know what?
- 14:19SPEAKER_18: Let me look back.
- 14:20SPEAKER_18: Because wasn't it um let me see?
- 14:25SPEAKER_18: Because I'll just go back in this conversation with John.
- 14:27SPEAKER_09: Well, John's been very cryptic about it.
- 14:29SPEAKER_09: All he all he says is like, you know, the gig in October.
- 14:32SPEAKER_09: And I'm like, Okay, here yeah, he's gonna be.
- 14:34SPEAKER_09: Which one?
- 14:35SPEAKER_18: He said um it's at the cross center.
- 14:40SPEAKER_18: Three to six, or maybe two to five.
- 14:43SPEAKER_18: It's for a convention.
- 14:46SPEAKER_18: Um no, he did say Anthony might be involved.
- 14:51SPEAKER_18: Anthony, Melissa, and Doug.
- 14:53SPEAKER_18: The coordinator said 80s rock.
- 14:55SPEAKER_18: I bet they're flexible, but I asked for some examples.
- 14:58SPEAKER_18: Um so the examples that they finally got back to them would be like white snake.
- 15:03SPEAKER_09: So Okay, so it's at the cross and it's a convention.
- 15:06SPEAKER_17: Yes.
- 15:09SPEAKER_17: Because yeah.
- 15:10SPEAKER_09: I'm very confused.
- 15:11SPEAKER_17: I am too.
- 15:13SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 15:13SPEAKER_09: But I think I mean I trust John.
- 15:16SPEAKER_09: I mean, I just I just like I mean it's April.
- 15:19SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 15:20SPEAKER_09: You know what I'm saying?
- 15:21SPEAKER_09: We got five months to figure this out.
- 15:23SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 15:23SPEAKER_18: Because if if if they only meet every other every two weeks or whatever, you know, and we find out it probably May until we find out May that we got the gig, then we have a lot of songs to learn.
- 15:37SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 15:38SPEAKER_18: And and we got a lot of gigs coming up.
- 15:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we do.
- 15:41SPEAKER_09: I mean, i things are gonna start ramping up in May.
- 15:45SPEAKER_18: But you're you're gonna be free.
- 15:47SPEAKER_09: I'm not worried about time.
- 15:49SPEAKER_09: This is not a time commitment thing for me anymore.
- 15:51SPEAKER_09: I'm just like, you know, whatever.
- 15:53SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 15:53SPEAKER_09: You know, I'm just Mr.
- 15:54SPEAKER_09: Loosey Goosey right now.
- 15:55SPEAKER_17: Right.
- 15:56SPEAKER_09: You know, my schedule is wide open.
- 15:58SPEAKER_09: But but still, yeah, I'd just like to know what's going on.
- 16:02SPEAKER_18: Same.
- 16:02SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 16:03SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 16:04SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 16:05SPEAKER_09: I'm just very confused.
- 16:06SPEAKER_09: I mean, you know, usually when we get a gig, it's like, it's for this, and these people are putting it on, and we're gonna do this.
- 16:13SPEAKER_09: And I'm like, cool.
- 16:14SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 16:15SPEAKER_09: And this is like it's an October, it's a Bangor white snake.
- 16:23SPEAKER_09: That's all that's all we got.
- 16:26SPEAKER_09: You know, that's and white snake is fairly you know, we've only known that for like five minutes now.
- 16:31SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 16:31SPEAKER_09: So I mean, I I don't I don't know.
- 16:33SPEAKER_18: What white snake song would you do?
- 16:34SPEAKER_18: Here I go again.
- 16:35SPEAKER_09: I don't want to do it here.
- 16:36SPEAKER_09: I want to do it like uh do do like uh do do uh like uh uh uh something like a deep album cut, you know.
- 16:45SPEAKER_18: Slide it in.
- 16:48SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:49SPEAKER_09: Slide it in.
- 16:53SPEAKER_09: Just like you know, some like older ways, you know, not not the typical like everybody, you know.
- 16:59SPEAKER_09: You know.
- 17:00SPEAKER_09: Still the night would be fun.
- 17:01SPEAKER_09: We could be not way hard.
- 17:03SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 17:03SPEAKER_09: We are not like an 80s rock band.
- 17:05SPEAKER_09: That's the problem.
- 17:06SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's what I that's what I'm saying.
- 17:07SPEAKER_09: I mean, we we could do it, but we wouldn't be able to be, I mean we wouldn't do it justice, I don't think.
- 17:12SPEAKER_09: Well, we could do it justice, but it's just it's just not it's not our milieu.
- 17:18SPEAKER_17: I love it when you use that word.
- 17:20SPEAKER_17: I'm very cultured.
- 17:22SPEAKER_17: So yeah, I don't know.
- 17:23SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 17:24SPEAKER_09: Whatever, whatever.
- 17:25SPEAKER_09: I mean, I'm I'm game, I'm totally down with that.
- 17:27SPEAKER_18: That's what's great about it, is is we're we're kind of we're pretty versatile.
- 17:31SPEAKER_09: We're like the Swiss Army knife of musicians, you know?
- 17:35SPEAKER_18: We're like the we're like the what?
- 17:36SPEAKER_09: Swiss Army Knife musicians.
- 17:39SPEAKER_09: We're gonna go to the cross center and do white snake.
- 17:45SPEAKER_09: We're not sure what song we're gonna do just yet.
- 17:51SPEAKER_09: But we know it's gonna be fun cause we are the Swiss Army knife of bands and musicians and sometimes connoisseurs.
- 18:07SPEAKER_09: Here we go.
- 18:09SPEAKER_18: Actually, we should probably figure out uh here I go again while I'm sitting right here.
- 18:13SPEAKER_09: Here I go again.
- 18:14SPEAKER_09: Actually, no, Sarah's gonna do all that.
- 18:15SPEAKER_09: Yeah, Sarah's got it.
- 18:16SPEAKER_18: Yeah, but uh yeah, so I don't know.
- 18:18SPEAKER_09: As long as it's not in G flat, she's fine.
- 18:21SPEAKER_18: So um yeah, I don't know.
- 18:23SPEAKER_18: I don't know.
- 18:24SPEAKER_18: I'm ca that's kind of uh kind of weighing on me a little bit because that there's a lot of work that needs to be done if that's if that's what we're gonna do.
- 18:30SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I just the having the info would be nice.
- 18:34SPEAKER_09: You know, and then we could go, okay, this is what we need to do, and this is what we need to learn.
- 18:39SPEAKER_09: Because it's still up in the air.
- 18:40SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 18:41SPEAKER_09: And this is October.
- 18:42SPEAKER_09: This is the exact middle of April.
- 18:47SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 18:48SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 18:49SPEAKER_09: So I don't know.
- 18:51SPEAKER_18: We'll make it one.
- 18:52SPEAKER_18: I think I'm just stressed you out.
- 18:53SPEAKER_18: I'm sorry, you're gonna be stressed out.
- 18:54SPEAKER_09: I just wish I knew what it was for.
- 18:56SPEAKER_09: That's all I want to know.
- 18:56SPEAKER_09: I just want to know what it's for.
- 18:57SPEAKER_09: Uh is a convention, is it like a Shriner convention?
- 19:00SPEAKER_09: Is that what we're doing?
- 19:01SPEAKER_18: It is a convention because he did say the word convention.
- 19:03SPEAKER_09: Well, that that so why do you need a band at a convention?
- 19:06SPEAKER_09: What are they selling?
- 19:07SPEAKER_09: Instruments?
- 19:08SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 19:08SPEAKER_09: Sound equipment?
- 19:09SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 19:09SPEAKER_09: Drugs?
- 19:10SPEAKER_09: What?
- 19:10SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 19:11SPEAKER_09: What are they selling?
- 19:11SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 19:14SPEAKER_09: It just makes no sense.
- 19:17SPEAKER_09: Why is John the only one that knows anything?
- 19:19SPEAKER_18: Uh and if he does know stuff, he's not telling us.
- 19:23SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 19:23SPEAKER_18: Maybe he doesn't know either.
- 19:25SPEAKER_18: Well, I think he must know what kind of convention it is.
- 19:28SPEAKER_18: He's talking to them for crying out loud.
- 19:30SPEAKER_18: Yeah, well, can you let us let us know what the convention is?
- 19:34SPEAKER_08: I would like to ask him.
- 19:35SPEAKER_18: What kind of convention for this?
- 19:36SPEAKER_18: I'm gonna ask him right now.
- 19:37SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 19:38SPEAKER_18: Uh tell him we're we're on the podcast, we're noticing you as um what kind of convention uh is this in Bangor BTW.
- 19:59SPEAKER_18: Question mark.
- 20:01SPEAKER_09: The Bangor White Snake Convention.
- 20:03SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 20:03SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 20:04SPEAKER_09: That's what I'm calling it right now.
- 20:05SPEAKER_18: The Bangor White Snake Convention.
- 20:06SPEAKER_18: Yes.
- 20:07SPEAKER_18: Um Alright.
- 20:09SPEAKER_18: So I thought that uh the only thing that's on Ultimate Classic Rock this week is all these veteran bands that are announcing touring plans.
- 20:20SPEAKER_18: Um and it's everybody touring plans.
- 20:27SPEAKER_18: Uh ZZ Top announces massive 2025 North American Elevation Tour.
- 20:31SPEAKER_09: Who's playing bass for them now?
- 20:33SPEAKER_09: Still uh Dusty Hills uh guitar tech?
- 20:36SPEAKER_18: Yep.
- 20:36SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 20:36SPEAKER_18: I believe so.
- 20:37SPEAKER_18: Uh 10C announces summer tour dates.
- 20:41SPEAKER_18: What?
- 20:42SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 20:42SPEAKER_09: 10 C C.
- 20:43SPEAKER_09: Wow.
- 20:44SPEAKER_18: Uh AC DC is on tour.
- 20:46SPEAKER_18: Well, I knew that.
- 20:47SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 20:47SPEAKER_18: They just started their.
- 20:49SPEAKER_09: They just I don't think ACD ever ACDC ever stops touring.
- 20:54SPEAKER_18: Well, no, they do.
- 20:55SPEAKER_18: They yeah.
- 20:55SPEAKER_18: Do they?
- 20:56SPEAKER_18: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 20:56SPEAKER_18: They take years off.
- 20:57SPEAKER_18: Really?
- 20:58SPEAKER_18: Oh, yeah.
- 20:58SPEAKER_09: It just seems like they're every time I turn around, they're on tour.
- 21:01SPEAKER_18: Um The Darkness announced 2025 North American Tour.
- 21:04SPEAKER_18: Alice Cooper and Judas Priest announced co-headlining tour.
- 21:09SPEAKER_18: Uh let's see.
- 21:11SPEAKER_18: Uh I'm just kind of going back on here.
- 21:15SPEAKER_18: Because there's a bunch of them that kind of uh Alex Lysent Lifeson admits he's talking about returning to touring.
- 21:23SPEAKER_09: Uh it'll be weird for him, but he but he's got that, you know, that band he's been working with.
- 21:29SPEAKER_18: Enemy of none.
- 21:30SPEAKER_18: Yeah, something like that.
- 21:31SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 21:31SPEAKER_18: Stevie Nicks announces new tour dates.
- 21:33SPEAKER_18: Todd Rundgrin sets U.S.
- 21:35SPEAKER_18: Summer tour dates.
- 21:37SPEAKER_18: Um yeah.
- 21:38SPEAKER_18: Spin Doctors have a new album.
- 21:40SPEAKER_18: Uh yeah.
- 21:41SPEAKER_18: So there's all kinds of all kinds of bands announcing.
- 21:43SPEAKER_18: But so I thought uh that the other thing Ultimate Classic Rock has right now is uh upcoming releases.
- 21:50SPEAKER_18: We usually do that.
- 21:51SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 21:51SPEAKER_09: So so upcoming release oh uh just find some information on the Bangor White Snake.
- 21:59SPEAKER_18: Um Okay.
- 22:04SPEAKER_18: Memon.
- 22:09SPEAKER_18: M-E-M-U-N.
- 22:11SPEAKER_18: It's an acronym.
- 22:12SPEAKER_18: It's like for town managers and stuff.
- 22:14SPEAKER_18: I think they look at things to invest in town development as well as probably make connections with other managers.
- 22:23SPEAKER_09: So we're going to play white stake for at a convention for town managers.
- 22:29SPEAKER_09: Well, think about it.
- 22:30SPEAKER_18: The town managers probably are our age.
- 22:33SPEAKER_09: No, it's not that.
- 22:35SPEAKER_09: It's just it's just funny when I say it out loud.
- 22:37SPEAKER_09: It's hilarious.
- 22:39SPEAKER_09: It's really funny.
- 22:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:41SPEAKER_09: We're going, honey, we're going to go to a convention for town managers.
- 22:44SPEAKER_09: There's going to be a band there playing white stake.
- 22:47SPEAKER_06: Nothing but.
- 22:48SPEAKER_06: Nothing but white stake.
- 22:50SPEAKER_18: Oh, it's okay, so Maine Municipal Association.
- 22:56SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 22:58SPEAKER_18: A voice for local government in Maine since 1936.
- 23:01SPEAKER_09: Okay, well, alright.
- 23:03SPEAKER_09: That's I mean, that's that's one thing less that we have to worry about.
- 23:06SPEAKER_09: Now we know what it's for.
- 23:07SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 23:08SPEAKER_09: You know, it's not like, you know, you know, United Satanists of uh Maine or something like that, you know.
- 23:14SPEAKER_09: You know.
- 23:15SPEAKER_09: That'd be weird.
- 23:16SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it would be.
- 23:17SPEAKER_09: Hail Satan! Here's a button.
- 23:26SPEAKER_18: All right, let me get back to this.
- 23:27SPEAKER_06: We're gonna sacrifice you to Wake Snake!
- 23:34SPEAKER_21: Here I go again, Aaaaaah!
- 23:38SPEAKER_18: Alright, let me get back to this.
- 23:39SPEAKER_18: Sorry.
- 23:40SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 23:40SPEAKER_18: Uh new releases for the month of May.
- 23:43SPEAKER_18: Uh and I always try and skip like reissues or something like that.
- 23:48SPEAKER_18: There are a couple of reissues I do want to mention.
- 23:50SPEAKER_18: But um for the most part, I'm gonna skip them.
- 23:53SPEAKER_18: Andy Bell of the band Erasure.
- 23:58SPEAKER_18: I'm already not an interesting.
- 23:59SPEAKER_18: Kind of a new wave.
- 24:00SPEAKER_18: Yeah, I remember Erasure.
- 24:02SPEAKER_18: Uh releasing a solo album called Ten Crowns.
- 24:04SPEAKER_18: Boring.
- 24:05SPEAKER_18: Uh well, how do you know?
- 24:06SPEAKER_18: You I only like one erasure song.
- 24:09SPEAKER_18: I can't name you one erasure song.
- 24:11SPEAKER_09: I know the song.
- 24:12SPEAKER_18: I do too, but I can't.
- 24:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I don't know the name of it, but I know I like it.
- 24:15SPEAKER_18: Um, let's see.
- 24:17SPEAKER_18: That's an anthology.
- 24:18SPEAKER_18: That's great as hits.
- 24:19SPEAKER_18: Pink Floyd at Pompeii.
- 24:22SPEAKER_18: First ever 2 LP vinyl and C D release.
- 24:25SPEAKER_09: Wait, Pompeii, like is it Mount Vesuvius Pompeii?
- 24:27SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:28SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 24:28SPEAKER_18: Yeah, and there's actually a little uh teaser here.
- 24:32SPEAKER_18: Let's see if I can.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: It'd be interesting to see exactly what four people could do if just given the equipment.
- 24:53SPEAKER_18: That's a long way to go for a gig.
- 24:56SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 24:59SPEAKER_13: He was just carrying a gong.
- 25:01SPEAKER_13: Did you see that?
- 25:01SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 25:12SPEAKER_18: Is this an old show?
- 25:13SPEAKER_18: Oh yes.
- 25:16SPEAKER_18: It's got Roger Waters still.
- 25:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's what it seems like.
- 25:48SPEAKER_09: You know, you know, that's like not something that I would do.
- 25:51SPEAKER_09: Who in the world would want to play in the ruins of Pompeii?
- 25:56SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 25:57SPEAKER_09: I d I I don't know, man.
- 26:00SPEAKER_09: Whatever.
- 26:01SPEAKER_18: Eric Clapton Unplugged Enhanced Edition.
- 26:04SPEAKER_18: They have a there's a special on uh that's streaming right now called uh Unplugged Over Thirty Years Later.
- 26:12SPEAKER_18: Uh and it's got some songs that were not in the well I mean Eric Clapton's uh the one where Layla comes from.
- 26:20SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 26:21SPEAKER_09: Um but I thought it was like like the whole series, the unplugged series.
- 26:25SPEAKER_18: No, just Eric Clapton.
- 26:26SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 26:27SPEAKER_18: Uh but it's oh over 30 years later, and they've uh put some extra bonus stuff in there, so that's kind of cool.
- 26:34SPEAKER_18: Uh that is a greatest hit.
- 26:36SPEAKER_18: That's a deluxe edition.
- 26:38SPEAKER_18: Little Feet has a new album coming out, Strike Up the Band.
- 26:42SPEAKER_18: That's on May 9th.
- 26:44SPEAKER_18: Um Tom York of Radiohead and Mark Pritchard, an album called Tall Tales.
- 26:52SPEAKER_18: Nobody cares.
- 26:54SPEAKER_18: Uh Wang Chung, Clear Light, Dark Matter.
- 26:56SPEAKER_18: Wang Chung, really?
- 26:58SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 26:59SPEAKER_18: Uh Dire Straits Brothers in Arms, an expanded 3 CD 40th anniversary set.
- 27:04SPEAKER_18: Ooh, that's gonna be interesting.
- 27:05SPEAKER_18: I think that's kind of cool.
- 27:06SPEAKER_18: Robin Trowers got a new album coming out called Come and Find Me.
- 27:10SPEAKER_18: Wow.
- 27:10SPEAKER_18: Uh, let's see.
- 27:12SPEAKER_18: Don Felder.
- 27:13SPEAKER_18: Boring.
- 27:14SPEAKER_18: The Vault, 50 Years of Music.
- 27:17SPEAKER_18: This has David Pache, Steve Lucuther, Jim Keltner.
- 27:23SPEAKER_18: Uh I'm not so sure what the song is.
- 27:25SPEAKER_18: Oh, the song is called Free at Last.
- 27:27SPEAKER_18: So this must be one of the new tracks.
- 27:39SPEAKER_18: So I'm already bored.
- 27:40SPEAKER_18: I'm gonna move ahead.
- 27:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I'm gonna say that.
- 27:43SPEAKER_09: Is that him singing?
- 27:45SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 27:57SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 28:01SPEAKER_18: Yeah, I'm not crazy about it.
- 28:02SPEAKER_09: I don't I don't know.
- 28:03SPEAKER_09: I d nothing against Don Felder.
- 28:07SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 28:08SPEAKER_09: But he was just that guy in the Eagles.
- 28:12SPEAKER_09: Basically.
- 28:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:14SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
- 28:14SPEAKER_09: Because you already had like massive like personalities like Don Hanley, Glenn Fry, Joe Walsh.

- 34:33SPEAKER_09: She got really deep in this one.
- 34:35SPEAKER_09: The frustrations of life.
- 34:37SPEAKER_09: Of life's YP.
- 34:39SPEAKER_09: I don't know what that is.
- 34:40SPEAKER_09: It's like the letters Y and P.

- 35:10SPEAKER_09: But she didn't.
- 35:10SPEAKER_09: She kept going.
- 35:11SPEAKER_18: Oh, uh oh.
- 35:12SPEAKER_09: But if I had to pick just one, the Eagles, the last resort would be the top one.
- 35:16SPEAKER_18: Uh there you go.
- 35:17SPEAKER_18: So she picked it up.
- 35:18SPEAKER_18: That was Larry's, right?
- 35:18SPEAKER_18: Yes.
- 35:19SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 35:19SPEAKER_18: Yeah.

- 35:37SPEAKER_09: Okay, so.
- 35:39SPEAKER_09: So Larry sent me an awesome answer as always.
- 35:42SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 35:43SPEAKER_09: Okay, so this is what he said.
- 35:44SPEAKER_09: Mixtape.
- 35:46SPEAKER_09: I tried to find a hip-hop song with about chubby bunnies.
- 35:50SPEAKER_09: Why?
- 35:51SPEAKER_09: During freshman breakout, I set the school record for chubby bunnies with 23 marshmallows in my mouth and sang chubby bunnies.
- 36:00SPEAKER_09: Impressive, right?
- 36:02SPEAKER_09: However, everybody knew after that, and it jump-started an amazing college experience.
- 36:08SPEAKER_09: I could not find a hip-hop song to describe it, however.
- 36:11SPEAKER_09: I went to school in the Boston area for from 83 to 87 and rode the subway often to and from work or to catch a socks game or just to hang out in Boston.
- 36:22SPEAKER_09: Riding the subway at night was always an experience.
- 36:25SPEAKER_09: The song The Freaks Come Out at Night by Houdini was one we used to say described the night ride on the T.
- 36:33SPEAKER_09: Honorable mention to run DMC's tricky.
- 36:35SPEAKER_09: I love those guys.
- 37:04unknown: This goes don't open after dark.
- 37:07SPEAKER_12: And the eight till twelve till the pottery thought.
- 37:10SPEAKER_12: I always had to be home by day.
- 37:12SPEAKER_12: Right before the fun was about to be dead.
- 37:17SPEAKER_12: Just for one reason to rock the house.
- 37:19SPEAKER_18: So I'm grooving to this, right?
- 37:21SPEAKER_12: Yeah, you see me.
- 37:23SPEAKER_09: Well, it's like the sound the soundtrack to break it.
- 37:26SPEAKER_09: Remember those movies?
- 37:27SPEAKER_09: I do.
- 37:27SPEAKER_18: Oh man, I have that album.
- 37:29SPEAKER_18: Yeah, actually.
- 37:30SPEAKER_18: Uh but do you remember?
- 37:32SPEAKER_18: The only thing I can't get out of my head.
- 37:35SPEAKER_18: Do you know in the scene in coming to America where you're going on dates with all these different people and they're sitting in the restaurant and the twins?
- 37:44SPEAKER_18: The twins that start raping.
- 37:50SPEAKER_09: He's just like my name is Terry.
- 37:55SPEAKER_18: I'm about to bring it in.
- 37:56SPEAKER_18: Alright, what's yours?
- 37:57SPEAKER_18: Then again, you could know someone all day of life.
- 38:03SPEAKER_18: What's yours?
- 38:04SPEAKER_18: What?
- 38:04SPEAKER_18: What's yours?
- 38:05SPEAKER_09: Oh uh mine is I had a hard time picking because I was listening to a lot of like weird stuff.
- 38:13SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 38:14SPEAKER_09: But I had to set, I think in '94, what I was listening to most was this guy named Paris.
- 38:20SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 38:20SPEAKER_09: And the song was called Gorilla Funk.
- 38:23SPEAKER_09: Not Gorilla, like the animal, more like the asymmetrical warfare.
- 38:26SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 38:27SPEAKER_18: So Got it.
- 38:30SPEAKER_18: Uh I think this is it.
- 38:31SPEAKER_18: Parental advisory expensive.
- 38:33SPEAKER_18: Yeah, there's there's some there's some language in.
- 38:36SPEAKER_12: You've never seen a pumpkin.
- 38:42SPEAKER_18: Maybe if the unit.
- 38:52SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I told you there's already was a language.
- 38:54SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 38:55SPEAKER_13: I so sorry.
- 38:56SPEAKER_13: I so sorry.
- 38:58SPEAKER_13: Oh.
- 38:59unknown: But check it out, it's the same old thing.
- 39:01SPEAKER_13: So that's your college experience?
- 39:03SPEAKER_09: Well that's what we were listening to when I got out.
- 39:06SPEAKER_09: Gotcha.
- 39:07SPEAKER_09: And then when I went to college, I was still listening to this.
- 39:09SPEAKER_09: Gotcha.
- 39:10SPEAKER_09: You know, and then uh after after a year of college, I was like, eh, I'm over this stuff.
- 39:15SPEAKER_09: So but this is what this is what that we were listening to when I got out, and you know.
- 39:21SPEAKER_09: Got it.
- 39:21SPEAKER_09: So it was like the last.
- 39:23SPEAKER_18: Yeah, you it stuck with me.
- 39:25SPEAKER_18: You went the way that I did, sort of.
- 39:27SPEAKER_18: Uh because um because Larry, because the actual question was the hip hop song that describes your first year of college.
- 39:37SPEAKER_18: I I don't know any hip-hop songs.
- 39:39SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 39:40SPEAKER_18: So I I can tell well, I shouldn't say I don't know any.
- 39:44SPEAKER_18: Um I know what because I lived on a fraternity floor.
- 39:52SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 39:53SPEAKER_18: And I know what they were listening to, and it was this.
- 39:58SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 40:00SPEAKER_18: The chronic nothing but a G thing.
- 40:07SPEAKER_18: I can't tell you how many times I walk down the hall.
- 40:10SPEAKER_05: One, two, three into the full.
- 40:12SPEAKER_05: Snoop doggy dog and dock, dreas at the door.
- 40:19SPEAKER_05: Give me the microphone box, doggy box like a bubble.
- 40:22SPEAKER_05: I've been on beats together.
- 40:23SPEAKER_05: Now you know when the trouble ain't nothing but a deep thing, baby.
- 40:27SPEAKER_05: Two blows down, brothers going crazy.
- 40:32SPEAKER_05: Unfatable, so don't try to face it, but the back of the label that ain't I love this talk.
- 40:40SPEAKER_18: So this was this was uh and this doesn't describe my first year of college, but this is all I heard.
- 40:45SPEAKER_18: Oh, yeah.
- 40:46SPEAKER_18: My first year of college.
- 40:46SPEAKER_18: I totally get it.
- 40:47SPEAKER_18: Yeah, uh Dr.
- 40:48SPEAKER_18: Dre had nothing but a G thing.
- 40:49SPEAKER_18: So uh it was that or Van Halen?
- 40:52SPEAKER_18: Because I had there's a guy from Caribou named Jodie Franklin who lived like not across the hall from me, but across and then down what one room in the dorm.
- 41:01SPEAKER_18: And he was he and I had a thing where we both love Van Halen, but he was a David Lee Roth guy, and I was a Cindy Higgins.
- 41:08SPEAKER_18: Oh yeah.
- 41:09SPEAKER_18: So we we bonded, but we also fought.
- 41:13SPEAKER_18: But yeah, you know, if it wasn't Van Halen that was playing, it was it was Dr.
- 41:17SPEAKER_18: Dre.
- 41:21SPEAKER_12: So there you go.
- 41:22SPEAKER_12: Um Dr.
- 41:23SPEAKER_18: Dre, nothing but a G thing, um Paris, Gorilla Funk, and holy cow.
- 41:31SPEAKER_18: What was what was Cousin Larry?
- 41:33SPEAKER_09: Houdini.
- 41:34SPEAKER_18: Houdini.

- 41:36SPEAKER_18: The Freaks Come Out at night.
- 41:37SPEAKER_18: You just reminded me.
- 41:39SPEAKER_18: Uh okay, so those are our choices.
- 41:42SPEAKER_18: Uh you you mentioned the breaking soundtrack.
- 41:46SPEAKER_09: Um that's like old school rat, man, and it's so great.
- 41:53SPEAKER_09: It's su it's such a different animal from what hip hop has become.
- 41:57SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 41:58SPEAKER_18: Uh but there's one song on there that I used to.
- 42:01SPEAKER_18: Actually, there's a couple songs on there.
- 42:03SPEAKER_18: This believe it or not, this song was on that soundtrack.
- 42:06SPEAKER_18: Shock a con.
- 42:07SPEAKER_18: Oh yeah.
- 42:10SPEAKER_18: Pretty sure it was anyway.
- 42:17SPEAKER_18: This is gold, man.
- 42:19SPEAKER_18: Oh yeah.
- 42:33SPEAKER_18: See, I was at this point, I was breakdancing.
- 42:36SPEAKER_18: Oh yeah.
- 42:37SPEAKER_18: You know.
- 42:38SPEAKER_22: Um you look for happens all naturally.
- 42:47SPEAKER_22: Didn't I know it was love?

- 43:10SPEAKER_18: Ollie and Jerry have a couple of things on that soundtrack that were really good.
- 43:19SPEAKER_18: Well, yeah, this one, this one stuck with me.
- 43:23SPEAKER_18: And I'm not sure what it was about it, but sing it to me, Jaka.
- 43:48SPEAKER_18: Okay, so that was that's on the breaking soundtrack.
- 43:50SPEAKER_18: That was a great soundtrack.
- 43:50SPEAKER_18: Oh, it's there was breaking that came out, and then there was another Breaking Two.
- 43:54SPEAKER_18: There was another uh break in the called Beat Street.
- 43:58SPEAKER_18: Yeah, something like that.
- 43:59SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 44:00SPEAKER_18: I think so.
- 44:02SPEAKER_18: I think so.
- 44:03SPEAKER_18: Um well I was gonna tell you something.
- 44:06SPEAKER_18: And then we did mixtape.

- 44:51SPEAKER_18: No festival that we went to.
- 44:53SPEAKER_18: And did I tell you about the song that we played for the kids in the beginning?
- 44:58SPEAKER_09: Who played it?
- 44:59SPEAKER_18: The the teachers.
- 45:00SPEAKER_09: You guys like played a song?

- 45:08SPEAKER_18: Um but uh and apparently, um I mean it's actually pretty it's crazy how music works.
- 45:16SPEAKER_18: You know, it's it's really you know these mashups where the songs fit perfectly together.
- 45:23SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 45:23SPEAKER_18: It's unbelievable like how music works sometimes.
- 45:28SPEAKER_18: This is an example.
- 45:30SPEAKER_18: We did this, we did this.
- 45:32SPEAKER_18: This is uh Seven Nation Army from the White Stripes.
- 45:40SPEAKER_18: Okay, but listen to the words.

- 46:20SPEAKER_18: So now we're going to switch to sweet dreams based on things definition.
- 46:54SPEAKER_18: Isn't that cool?
- 46:54SPEAKER_18: Yeah, that's interesting.
- 46:56SPEAKER_18: So we so we did that.
- 46:57SPEAKER_18: So this by the way, this is Pompl Pomplamous featuring Sarah Dugas.

- 47:13SPEAKER_18: Yeah, same key, same everything.
- 47:15SPEAKER_18: Yeah, you know.
- 47:16SPEAKER_18: So almost the same song.
- 47:18SPEAKER_18: Yeah, and there's a lot of uh there's a lot of songs that do that that you wouldn't expect them to do that.

- 47:31SPEAKER_18: So it's kind of cool.
- 47:32SPEAKER_18: Uh all right.
- 47:34SPEAKER_18: So we did mix tape, but we didn't do the new question.
- 47:36SPEAKER_18: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:37SPEAKER_18: We're always we've been forgetting that.
- 47:39SPEAKER_18: Yeah, because we're old.
- 47:40SPEAKER_18: Yeah.

- 48:59SPEAKER_18: That is so awesome.
- 49:04SPEAKER_09: I'm finding so many.
- 49:06SPEAKER_09: How long have we been playing mixtape?
- 49:08SPEAKER_09: Quite a while.
- 49:09SPEAKER_18: You're finding so many that we've already done?
- 49:11SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, I'm finding quite a few, but and some of them just kind of lame.
- 49:14SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 49:15SPEAKER_09: Okay, this ought to be a fun.
- 49:16SPEAKER_09: This this will be kind of fun.
- 49:18SPEAKER_09: It only actually only uh uh it only applies to you and cousin Larry.
- 49:27SPEAKER_09: But I'll have to play along the best I can.
- 49:30SPEAKER_09: Uh what song should be playing every time your significant other gets behind the wheel to drive?
- 49:39SPEAKER_18: I gotta get myself in trouble.
- 49:41SPEAKER_09: That's what I'm saying.
- 49:41SPEAKER_09: That's that's why that's why I I actually my wife I have carte blanche here.
- 49:45SPEAKER_18: My wife is actually a better driver than I am.
- 49:48SPEAKER_09: She's definitely an excellent driver.
- 49:50SPEAKER_18: She is.
- 49:51SPEAKER_09: Definitely not my underwear.
- 49:52SPEAKER_18: She's she's uh she's got a lead foot, but she is I I would say definitely a better driver than I am.
- 50:00SPEAKER_18: I'm a little more haphazard, if you will.
- 50:04SPEAKER_09: Well, I remember you in high school, that's why I'm not surprised.
- 50:09SPEAKER_18: Wait, my little Toyota?
- 50:10SPEAKER_09: Your little Toyota doing E-trix on the uh up by the mountain?
- 50:14SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 50:15SPEAKER_18: Oh yeah.
- 50:15SPEAKER_09: That was fun.
- 50:16SPEAKER_18: Oh yeah, it was.
- 50:17SPEAKER_18: Yep.
- 50:18SPEAKER_18: Remember we used to do uh water balloon fights?
- 50:21SPEAKER_09: Dude, that was epic.
- 50:24SPEAKER_09: That was epic.
- 50:25SPEAKER_09: A mobile, it was like drive-by shootings with water balloons.
- 50:29SPEAKER_18: It was the best doing that.
- 50:30SPEAKER_18: Bob would have his mom's uh like dodge caravans.
- 50:33SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 50:34SPEAKER_09: We would open up that side door and just launch balloons out of it.
- 50:38SPEAKER_09: Didn't we break your windshield with that?
- 50:39SPEAKER_09: I think you did, yeah.
- 50:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 50:41SPEAKER_11: It was great.
- 50:42SPEAKER_11: That was fun, man.
- 50:43SPEAKER_09: That was such a good time.
- 50:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it was.
- 50:45SPEAKER_07: Okay, I gotta send this to cousin Larry.
- 50:49SPEAKER_07: Because cousin Larry needs to know.
- 50:52SPEAKER_07: And I'm sending it to Larry, cuz he rules the show.
- 51:01SPEAKER_07: Cause he's awesome.
- 51:05SPEAKER_18: See if you remember this song.
- 51:12SPEAKER_16: No.
- 51:18SPEAKER_16: Oh, yeah.
- 51:22SPEAKER_16: Should you come back?
- 51:24SPEAKER_16: No.
- 51:26SPEAKER_18: Where's the girl again?
- 51:30SPEAKER_16: I should find myself a trouble down.
- 51:43SPEAKER_16: Catsum whiskey from above.
- 51:55SPEAKER_16: From the hippos.
- 51:56SPEAKER_16: From the hippos.
- 52:02SPEAKER_16: What was that?
- 52:10SPEAKER_16: Sing it.
- 52:12SPEAKER_18: You don't know this?
- 52:13SPEAKER_09: I know it, I just don't remember the words.
- 52:16SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 52:20SPEAKER_09: I haven't heard this song in like years, man.
- 52:24SPEAKER_15: How come I never do what I'm supposed to do?
- 52:31SPEAKER_15: How come everything I do ever turns out a rise.
- 52:40SPEAKER_16: You know how it is with me, babies.
- 52:47SPEAKER_16: So I just can't stand myself.
- 52:52SPEAKER_16: Takes a whole lot of medicine, knowledge.
- 52:57SPEAKER_16: For me to produce that on somebody.
- 53:15SPEAKER_18: Written by Randy Newman, actually.
- 53:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you you can kinda tell.
- 53:18SPEAKER_18: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 53:19SPEAKER_09: It's got that, you know.
- 53:21SPEAKER_18: Uh Bonnie Rate did a version of it, but the I think the most popular probably is Blues Brothers.
- 53:25SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 53:26SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 53:27SPEAKER_18: Good stuff.
- 53:28SPEAKER_18: Actually, most popular is the Blues Brothers or Randy Newman?
- 53:32SPEAKER_18: Joe Cocker, I bet, did a version of that too.
- 53:34SPEAKER_18: Oh, probably.
- 53:35SPEAKER_18: Wouldn't doubt it.
- 53:36SPEAKER_18: I should look that up.
- 53:37SPEAKER_18: But great song.
- 53:38SPEAKER_18: I love that song.
- 53:39SPEAKER_09: Uh I guess we're gonna take a break.
- 53:45SPEAKER_09: I guess so.
- 53:45SPEAKER_09: I guess so.
- 53:46SPEAKER_09: That was that was the that was the song to take a break.
- 53:49SPEAKER_18: Actually, no, that was just fun.
- 53:50SPEAKER_18: Let's do you want to do a song, take a break?
- 53:52SPEAKER_09: No.
- 53:52SPEAKER_09: We already did a song.
- 53:55SPEAKER_09: It's a break song, break song, break song, break song, break song, break song, break song, break.
- 54:01SPEAKER_09: I don't know why Mike Tramp has action figures.
- 54:05SPEAKER_09: It's pretty weird, cause nobody cares about Mike Tramp.
- 54:10SPEAKER_18: Something is going on with my keyboard here.
- 54:14SPEAKER_09: Anyway.
- 54:14SPEAKER_18: Uh we're gonna take a break.
- 54:16SPEAKER_09: It's out of tune, that's why.
- 54:17SPEAKER_13: We'll we'll come back.
- 54:19SPEAKER_09: You should tune it.
- 54:22SPEAKER_09: There it is.
- 54:23SPEAKER_18: Perfect.
- 54:23SPEAKER_18: We'll come back, we'll climb the wall of tunes.
- 54:25SPEAKER_18: You're gonna read?
- 54:27SPEAKER_18: Sure.
- 54:27SPEAKER_18: Have we gotten through every Beatles song yet?
- 54:30SPEAKER_18: I don't think so.
- 54:31SPEAKER_18: Alright, we'll be right back.
- 54:32SPEAKER_09: Is it the end of the world?
- 54:33SPEAKER_09: No.

- 56:18SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 56:18SPEAKER_18: I'm gonna take off my headphones and climb the wall and read stuff from the book Hard Days Right, which is written by uh Steve Turner.
- 56:26SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 56:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah, so here we go.
- 56:28SPEAKER_09: Uh this one is from With the Beatles.
- 56:30SPEAKER_09: It's called Hold Me Tight.
- 56:32SPEAKER_09: A version of Hold Me Tight was recorded for the Beatles' first album, but not used, and rather than go back to the old tape, they recut it for With the Beatles.
- 56:41SPEAKER_09: Written by Paul, who considered it a work song.
- 56:44SPEAKER_09: John's only comment was that he, quote, was never really interested in it either way, unquote.
- 56:50SPEAKER_09: Musically, it was influenced by the work of the Sherelles, the New Jersey vocal group who in 1961 had become the first all-girl group to make the number one spot on the American charts.
- 57:02SPEAKER_09: The Beatles were consistent champions of girl groups and girl singers, citing acts such as the Chiffons, Mary Wells, the Ronettes, the Don A's, and the Crystals as influences on their Close Harmony vocals.
- 57:18SPEAKER_09: Even before they arrived in London, they were including Sherelle's songs in their act, and on their debut album, they included two of them: Baby It's You and Boys.
- 57:28SPEAKER_09: The Sherelles, Shirley Owens, Mickey Harris, Doris Coley, and Beverly Lee, had seven top 20 hits in America and three in Britain, but in 1963, proved to be their last year of Clark chart glory.
- 57:44SPEAKER_09: Ironically, they found themselves pushed aside by the Beatles by the by the British Beat Group invasion spearheaded by the Beatles.
- 57:52SPEAKER_04: Irony listening to that in headphones when you got Paul McCartney's box in your right early.
- 58:38SPEAKER_18: Actually, all of them, all of them are right.
- 58:40SPEAKER_18: Yeah, all of them.
- 58:41SPEAKER_18: Drums are in the left.
- 58:43SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 58:44SPEAKER_09: Sounds like guitar is on the left, too.
- 58:49SPEAKER_18: Good stuff.
- 58:50SPEAKER_18: Always good stuff.
- 58:51SPEAKER_18: Always.
- 58:52SPEAKER_18: With that group.
- 58:53SPEAKER_10: Always and forever.
- 58:54SPEAKER_10: With that group.
- 58:56SPEAKER_18: Uh okay.
- 58:57SPEAKER_18: I have an album.
- 59:00SPEAKER_09: Did you get it from the wood pile?
- 59:02SPEAKER_18: No.
- 59:02SPEAKER_18: I went and blew my nose.
- 59:04SPEAKER_09: Well, that was because I didn't see you get an album.
- 59:06SPEAKER_09: I just saw you go over to the woodpile.
- 59:07SPEAKER_18: Oh, I got it.
- 59:08SPEAKER_18: I got it before.
- 59:09SPEAKER_09: This is a song's from the wood pile.
- 59:13SPEAKER_18: Yes.
- 59:13SPEAKER_18: Alright, I have an album.
- 59:15SPEAKER_18: So uh let the guessing begin.
- 59:17SPEAKER_18: Is it a band?
- 59:17SPEAKER_18: Yes.
- 59:19SPEAKER_18: Is it the Beatles?
- 59:21SPEAKER_11: No.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_18: Let's see.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_18: If I say the lyrics to actually uh Johnny was a schoolboy.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_14: Oh uh little song um Love Me Do I think it wasn't from there.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_14: What is the name of that bitch?
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_14: Now is it Bad Company?
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_14: Bad Company.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_09: Bad company, yes.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_09: That took me way longer than I should have.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_18: Alright, so this is what I picked.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_18: This is the original Bad Company Anthology.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_18: It's a two CD set.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_18: And it's just chalk full of stuff.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_18: Just chalk full of goodness.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_18: Full of goodness.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_18: Um bad company goodness.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_18: Let me show you what I'm talking about here.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_18: So obviously, this one.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_18: Why we used to do this one.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_18: What were you gonna say?
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_09: Why why did I not realize they were from Britain?
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_18: I don't know.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_09: I always thought they were an American band.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_09: Did you really?
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_18: Yeah, nope.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_09: Never even questioned it.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_18: Um, Paul Rogers and Simon Kirk, the singer and the drummer, were in a band called Free.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_18: Okay.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_18: What they did the All Right Now.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_18: Um Mick Ralphs was in Mop the Hoople with um.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_18: Well, it was uh Ian uh Ian shoot.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_18: Fleming?
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_18: Hunter.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_18: Ian Hunter.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_18: Uh Fleming.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_18: Ian.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_09: He's the guy that wrote the uh James Barker.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_09: I know, I know.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_18: That's why I was laughing.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_18: Uh and Bosborel, the bass player, came from King Crimson.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_18: Ah, okay.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_18: Um they have I don't know how many, I mean, just very recognized these are staples of classic rock radio.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_18: This is Ready for Love, one of my favorites.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_03: Welcome down this rocky road, wondering where my life is leading.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_03: Rolling on to the bitter end.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_18: They deserve to be in the Rocco Mahalifan a long time.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_03: What it takes to keep them.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_18: We're just gonna play a piece of these tons, and you're gonna know like every single one of them.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_18: This one was covered by Five Finger Death, which was a huge hit for five.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_18: I like this version better, obviously, but this is this is the title of the band.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_18: This is Bad Company.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_18: Of course, moving on.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_18: Great ballad called Seago.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_18: I'm just gonna play you the uh next two that you'll definitely recognize.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_09: That one you were just playing on a piano.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_18: Actually no.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_18: This just feels like making love.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_18: Oh, is it?
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_09: Oh, it is, is it?
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_18: Yes.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_02: Baby.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_02: When I think about you.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_18: What you're thinking of is this one.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_18: Shooting star.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_18: That's what I have a similar info, so yeah.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_18: I get it.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_02: Johnny was a schoolboy when he heard his first big old song.
- 1:07:25SPEAKER_02: Let me do what think it was, but from there it didn't take him long.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_18: Of course.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_18: Run it with the pack.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_03: You won't be with me.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_03: I'm running with the Run with the Pun.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_18: I think uh Common Crossing used to do this one too, but we did it a couple times.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_18: Did we?
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_18: Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_03: Here come the gesture.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_03: I don't think so.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_18: It was rock docks.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_09: I don't remember ever doing this.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_03: It's so far the mouth.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_18: Are you sure we never did it with Josh?
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_09: No.
- 1:08:45unknown: I love the music.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_09: I would have remembered to see the round.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_18: We did do can't get enough though.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_18: Oh yeah, yeah, we did.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_18: I do remember that.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_18: Yeah, and that's just an example.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_18: I mean, that's that's uh I mean you can find this is a two C D anthology, which is unbelievable.
- 1:09:04SPEAKER_18: And you know, uh so so Paul Rogers decided he was gonna leave the band, um, and the record company says, Well, we need to keep going, so they kept the band going.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_18: They got a guy named Brian Howe to sing for them.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_18: And I thought it was great.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_18: And I like the albums that Brian Howe did with them, but it wasn't bad company.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_18: I mean it was like a it was like Van Halen.
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_18: You know how we we have everybody complains or talks about they compare David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar era, Van Halen.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_18: It's two different bands.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's two different Van Halen's.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_18: Yes, two different Van Halen's.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_18: I mean it's it all comes from Eddie, right?
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_18: I mean he's still he writes all the songs, right?
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_18: Um, but it's two completely different entities.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_18: You can't really compare the two.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_18: Just like you can't compare uh bad company with Paul Rogers to Bad Company with Brian Howe.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_18: Even the sound of the guitar is different.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_18: It was a different era, yeah.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_18: You know, this album in nineteen ninety was huge for the second bad company.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_18: Right.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_18: Sounded the same.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_18: This is a different album.
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_13: Same five sounds like the album.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_18: And you know, people don't give this era of that company enough credit.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_18: I love these albums just because I like blues rock, right?
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_18: And it's good stuff, it's a little it's a little uh shinier than the 70s stuff, more polish and a little bit more predictable, I guess.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_18: Um but I I like it.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_18: No smoke without a fire, and then in 92 they had a hit with this.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_18: This is the last one I'll do.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_18: I don't remember this song at all.
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_18: It's called How about That?
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_18: A lot of people didn't know that this was bad company.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_09: Well, it sounds like Jesus Jones.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_09: This was before Jesus Jones.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_09: I know, but I'm just gonna was it before Jesus Jones?
- 1:12:06SPEAKER_23: Last night when the moon was blue.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_23: I couldn't sleep, I was thinking of you.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_23: How much I need you.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_23: How about that?
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_18: Wow.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_18: It came out the same year.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_18: Coincidence?
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_13: I think so.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_18: Well now I wanna now I wanna play them next to each other just because uh I think that would be interesting.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_18: You're right.
- 1:12:39SPEAKER_18: That was that did sound like that.
- 1:12:40SPEAKER_18: You know, I never put that together.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_18: I never put that together.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_09: That's because you think too commonly.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_09: You gotta have a weirdo like me come up with stuff like that.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_18: Let's just see.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_18: Oh, is this a line?
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_18: Oh she's taking she's apparently taking attendance.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_13: Wow.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_13: Pretty similar, isn't it?
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_09: I love this song too.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's a great song.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_09: How could nobody wears their hats like that anymore?
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_09: You know, with the bell turned all the way up.
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_09: That's a great question.
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_09: You know, like suicidal tennis these days.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_18: Well, they they were a one-hit wonder, right?
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that n nobody ever heard from them after this song.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_18: Anyway, uh, so that is the album, Bad Company.
- 1:13:52SPEAKER_18: The anthology.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_18: The original Bad Company anthology.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_18: And they are finally going in or in, I think going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_18: Not that I care.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_18: And not that they care, but I think probably deep down.
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_18: It's valid, it's validation.
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_18: It is validation, yeah.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_18: Um, because the Rock Hall of Fame is such a joke.
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_09: Just a bunch of dummy heads.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_18: Just a bunch of dummy heads.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_18: Yeah, I couldn't have said it better.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_09: Thank you.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_18: Just a bunch of dummy heads.
- 1:14:19SPEAKER_18: That's what I do.

- 1:14:36SPEAKER_09: I I don't know where I was saying it either.
- 1:14:41SPEAKER_18: I don't need it.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_18: I don't know.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_14: Why is that sticking?
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_14: Because you spelled soda on it! No, I didn't.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_14: I don't have any soda here.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_09: I need it.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_18: See this?
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_18: My C and my E.
- 1:14:58SPEAKER_18: They're sustained and I'm not pushing the pedal.
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_18: My E hurts.

- 1:15:26SPEAKER_18: It's my C and my E my middle C and my E.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_18: It shouldn't be holding like that.
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_18: It should not be holding like that.
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_18: And it's digital too.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_17: What's going on?
