- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast. Some celeb news. What's going on?
- 0:04Speaker 2: Zendaya is one of the biggest stars in the world,
- 0:06Speaker 2: but not only that, I think she's become one of
- 0:08Speaker 2: those celebrities where it's like, who doesn't like her? There's
- 0:11Speaker 2: very few celebrities where you can go, who doesn't like
- 0:14Speaker 2: a person's name here? I think Zendaya is one of
- 0:16Speaker 2: those people. So it's interesting that she's being criticized by
- 0:19Speaker 2: a lot of people online right now for something that
- 0:22Speaker 2: she did at Fashion Week, which is happening in Paris
- 0:26Speaker 2: at the moment, Paris Fashion Week. So she was sitting
- 0:28Speaker 2: front row for one of the shows there at the Louvre.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It was happening at the Louvre when Brigitte Macron, who
- 0:34Speaker 2: is the wife of the French president, so this is
- 0:37Speaker 2: the first lady of France, went over to her to
- 0:41Speaker 2: introduce herself and Zendaya remained seated. She did not stand up.
- 0:47Speaker 2: She shook Brigitte's hand, but she did it seated and
- 0:50Speaker 2: did not stand up.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Oh, who cares?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Well, look. Do you reckon she knew who she was?
- 0:54Speaker 1: No, probably not.
- 0:55Speaker 2: She looks a little bit puzzled. It almost looks like just...
- 0:59Speaker 2: I don't care who she is. I always stand up
- 1:02Speaker 2: to greet someone.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So if you come into the studio here and I'm
- 1:05Speaker 3: sitting down.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're a rude C because remember when my
- 1:09Speaker 2: partner came in and you didn't.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh, we made a thing about it.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you didn't even... He walked... So when you
- 1:14Speaker 2: were off, my fiancé Kane came in for a segment...
- 1:18Speaker 2: And he, Mikey, walked the long way to avoid walking
- 1:21Speaker 2: past him. That's not true. Yes, it is. You walked
- 1:24Speaker 2: this way, Mikey, which is the long way to get
- 1:26Speaker 2: to your chair. You normally walk. Does he not walk
- 1:28Speaker 2: the other way?
- 1:28Speaker 1: He always walks that way, yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 2: We were standing over there. He walked this way and went, stop,
- 1:32Speaker 2: and walked past him, didn't shake his hand. And Kane
- 1:34Speaker 2: was like, that is... So rude.
- 1:36Speaker 1: What a pussy.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's why I, even when we have guests, even if
- 1:40Speaker 2: I'm on live radio, I will get up. I unhook
- 1:43Speaker 2: my thing and I will always greet someone. Mikey always
- 1:45Speaker 2: stays on his side of the desk. Have you noticed?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm all wired in here. I can't get up.
- 1:49Speaker 2: So is Amy. So am I. All you do is
- 1:51Speaker 2: unplug your wire.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Oh, like this.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yep, you're unplugged. Wow.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So I've got to get up and greet the guests.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I'm also running the bloody ship here. Mate, we're in
- 1:59Speaker 1: a song.
- 2:00Speaker 2: You're not DJing.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Wiki, wiki.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, the songs are playing themselves. Don't ruin the illusion.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Everyone thought I was playing them live.
- 2:08Speaker 2: No, so I think there are basic manners that most
- 2:11Speaker 2: people adhere to, and it doesn't matter if you're the
- 2:13Speaker 2: First Lady of France or any random. If you're meeting someone,
- 2:16Speaker 2: you stand up, shake their hand, sit back down. It's
- 2:19Speaker 2: not hard.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Okay, I'll remember that now. At my age, I finally learn.
- 2:23Speaker 2: You won't learn.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So you stand up for everyone?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yes. If you're seated and you can stand, if you
- 2:28Speaker 2: are able to stand, you should.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You've got to stand up, shake their hands.
- 2:32Speaker 2: What are your table manners like? If you're at a restaurant,
- 2:34Speaker 2: do you have good manners?
- 2:36Speaker 1: I always make a lot of mess, I've realised.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I don't think I've ever gone to a restaurant and
- 2:39Speaker 3: that white tablecloth has not got crap just all over it.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Do you use cutlery or just your fingers?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Do I use cutlery? Yes. Yes. I even know how
- 2:49Speaker 1: to use chopsticks.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Stab the food.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Does anyone else do that? I was going to say,
- 2:53Speaker 2: I bet you actually don't.
- 2:55Speaker 1: There's a lot of stabbing. I remember being in Hong Kong.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I'd never been to Asia.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 3: And I was in this, I was about 19 in
- 3:00Speaker 3: this Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong. And I couldn't use
- 3:04Speaker 3: the chopsticks.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Like I just couldn't.
- 3:06Speaker 3: And this Chinese man got up and basically made fun
- 3:09Speaker 3: of me in front of the whole restaurant and gave
- 3:10Speaker 3: me a lesson on how to do it.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Because they're hard, right? They are.
- 3:14Speaker 2: They're not easy. If you haven't used them before, you
- 3:17Speaker 2: wouldn't know where to start. But once you get the
- 3:18Speaker 2: hang of it, they're easy.
- 3:20Speaker 1: But I'm not the only one that stabs a dumpling, right,
- 3:22Speaker 1: instead of picking it up. It's easier just to stab
- 3:24Speaker 1: the food.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Sometimes you do just stab.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Those really slippery dumplings.
- 3:29Speaker 2: What are the ones with the soup inside?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 1: You can't pick them up.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Well, you can't stab them either.
- 3:34Speaker 1: They explode.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You know the ones you bite and they explode in
- 3:36Speaker 2: your mouth?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah, they're so hot.
- 3:37Speaker 2: It's like scorching hot. The soup dumplings are, like, actually lethal.
- 3:41Speaker 2: They're delicious, though, but you've got to let them sit
- 3:43Speaker 2: and cool down for, like, 40 minutes. How good's yum cha,
- 3:45Speaker 2: by the way?
- 3:46Speaker 3: Should we go out for yum cha now? It's 10
- 3:48Speaker 3: to 9. It's about yum cha.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but I feel we need to know a good
- 3:51Speaker 2: yum cha place. Like, yum cha is not something you
- 3:54Speaker 2: run the risk with. I know lots of good yum
- 3:56Speaker 2: chas here. I know good ones, but not near here.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Oh, there would be.
- 3:59Speaker 2: There probably would be one in... I do love yum cha.
- 4:02Speaker 3: If you know of any good yum chas in the
- 4:04Speaker 3: North Sydney area and you want to have us for free.
- 4:06Speaker 2: We could also Google... I'm not Googling good yum cha
- 4:10Speaker 2: near me. No? I only go off people recommendations, not
- 4:13Speaker 2: off just like.
- 4:14Speaker 1: If you know of one, call in and shout us.
- 4:16Speaker 4: 131065.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Why can't we pay? Why pay when you don't have to?
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'm with Mikey on this one. I don't want to pay.
- 4:21Speaker 2: It's almost payday.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I'm struggling. Pan's Kitchen. That's too far away.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Anyway. That's got a good rating. That looks great.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Do you believe the Google ratings? Yes.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 1: You believe a 4.9?
- 4:32Speaker 2: I believe a Google rating, but I don't believe like
- 4:35Speaker 2: the first result that pops up, they're just sponsored.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Oh, well, and it says sponsored for that one.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 1: But that 4.9 has got a very good rating.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 2: But then you also have to look at the number
- 4:44Speaker 2: of ratings. Oh, yeah, so it's like just two? No,
- 4:47Speaker 2: that's got 107. Yeah, but then there was another one before,
- 4:50Speaker 2: and I love the search.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Good yum cha.
- 4:51Speaker 4: You need four figures for the rating, sorry. That's the
- 4:54Speaker 4: point at which it becomes. Oh, I don't want to
- 4:56Speaker 4: read that one out, but they've got a 3.7. That's
- 4:58Speaker 4: really bad, isn't it?
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, let's not shame them, but that's very close to
- 5:02Speaker 2: here and not a good rating.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Oh, but it's so convenient. That's down the road.
- 5:04Speaker 4: What if we went to the worst rated yum cha
- 5:07Speaker 4: restaurant near here just to see what happens?
- 5:08Speaker 2: I'm pregnant. I don't want food poisoning.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That is a slight hurdle. Slight hurdle.
- 5:13Speaker 3: When it comes to Google ratings, like I could see there,
- 5:18Speaker 3: there were 4.9, 4.7, and then that one was 3.7.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Would it be that bad, a 3.7?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Depending on the number of ratings, because if you had
- 5:26Speaker 2: 10 ratings and you got one, one, that'd bring you
- 5:30Speaker 2: right down because it's an average thing, right? Yeah. But
- 5:33Speaker 2: if you had hundreds and one person rated you poorly,
- 5:36Speaker 2: it wouldn't pull it down too much.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Have you got like a cutoff? Would you not eat
- 5:40Speaker 3: at a three or something like that?
- 5:41Speaker 2: I only tend to go four and a half's and up.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Anything under that's going to be awful.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Because you know on Uber as well, it says the
- 5:47Speaker 2: ratings of restaurants. And like often on Uber is when
- 5:50Speaker 2: you'll try places you don't know because you're like, I
- 5:51Speaker 2: just want Italian. Where's Italian? Where's quick? It's always based
- 5:54Speaker 2: on how quick it'll get to you. So yeah, I
- 5:57Speaker 2: won't order anything from like a less than a four
- 5:59Speaker 2: and a half.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So who's eating at the three and a half restaurants?
- 6:02Speaker 2: But there are people, I reckon, that have eaten there
- 6:04Speaker 2: for years and love it.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And maybe it was just like 10 bad experiences that
- 6:09Speaker 3: brought it down.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Do you remember Lucky Panda? It was back in our area.
- 6:12Speaker 2: It's this Chinese restaurant. It was in Bonnet Bay and
- 6:15Speaker 2: it had the worst reviews and the worst ratings.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Are they still around?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think so. But we used to go
- 6:27Speaker 2: there at least twice a month.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It was delicious. So why do people think it was
- 6:33Speaker 1: so bad?
- 6:33Speaker 2: I don't know. Isn't there a Chinese restaurant in your
- 6:36Speaker 2: area that they refer to as Poison Pete's? Yeah, also
- 6:39Speaker 2: great Chinese. We went there all when I was growing up.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Also really great Chinese.
- 6:43Speaker 1: See, the ratings aren't always real. And if it's Chinese, right? Like,
- 6:47Speaker 1: give me some fried rice and stuff. How do you
- 6:48Speaker 1: mess that up?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Rating food alone. Because when I go to certain restaurants,
- 6:52Speaker 2: I don't expect service. I expect good food. I go
- 6:54Speaker 2: to others, I expect the whole package. There's ones I
- 6:57Speaker 2: don't expect that much service from.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Well, they can be rude at a Chinese restaurant.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I don't care. As long as your food's good.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Hey, let's take your last calls.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Guys, Lucky Panda's closed, so we're safe.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Oh, you didn't just ruin their business?
- 7:08Speaker 2: I just Googled it then.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Does it say permanently closed?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Permanently closed.
- 7:12Speaker 1: It was that bad then.
