- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and stores, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:40Speaker 2: He was praying in a certain place, and when he
- 1:44Speaker 2: was asked by his disciples, Lord teach us to pray,
- 1:51Speaker 2: just as John has taught his disciples to pray. We'd
- 1:56Speaker 2: like to be able to talk about prayer, titling the
- 2:01Speaker 2: message simply from the scripture. Lord teach us how to pray.
- 2:06Speaker 2: We are admonished to pray for those who are in
- 2:08Speaker 2: a parity. That means the President, the Vice president, the
- 2:13Speaker 2: cabinet members, Joint chiefs of staff, Armed forces commands, admirals,
- 2:20Speaker 2: generals and other military officers, Senators and House of Representatives, delegates, governors,
- 2:27Speaker 2: attorney generals, Supreme Court justices and all judicial officials, federal,
- 2:33Speaker 2: state and local law enforcement, school board administrations and teachers,
- 2:39Speaker 2: county and city government officials, fire chiefs, environments, rescue workers,
- 2:45Speaker 2: emergency teams, disaster relief charitable and religious organizations, Red Cross,
- 2:53Speaker 2: Salvation Army, churches, temples, moss and synagogues, pastors, priests and raptis,
- 3:01Speaker 2: parents and elders. Perhaps if we devoted more time to praying,
- 3:06Speaker 2: we would have better leaders, let's to argue about, and
- 3:10Speaker 2: more agreement. The list above can certainly be expanded to
- 3:15Speaker 2: include the CEOs of companies, employers, bosses, and supervisors. Since
- 3:21Speaker 2: we have so many to pray for and so much
- 3:23Speaker 2: to be thankful for, there should be no way to
- 3:27Speaker 2: forget the service of those in authority. We are further
- 3:32Speaker 2: admonished to pray for our nation, neighbors, friends, and even
- 3:37Speaker 2: our enemies. Those people of faith believe that in all knowing,
- 3:42Speaker 2: all loving, ever present, God hears and answers prayer. It
- 3:49Speaker 2: has been said that prayer changes things. In many cases,
- 3:53Speaker 2: God changes people who pray, who then change the things
- 3:59Speaker 2: for which they Prayer is not only a dialogue that
- 4:03Speaker 2: states our wants, needs, desires, and ambitions, but rather, prayer
- 4:08Speaker 2: is recognizing that God is in total control and knows
- 4:12Speaker 2: what is best for us. Prayers seeking the will of
- 4:16Speaker 2: God in and through every circumstance. Prayers sacrificing our wants
- 4:23Speaker 2: and needs to help meet the needs of others. Prayer
- 4:28Speaker 2: is God's heart and mind transfused into our human spirit.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Prayer supersedes intellect and transcends logic. Prayer believes the miraculous,
- 4:40Speaker 2: achieves the impossible, and reveals the eternal. Prayer is preparation
- 4:46Speaker 2: for righteousness, the pathway of holiness and humility. Prayers communion
- 4:53Speaker 2: and fellowship with the Creator God. Prayer brings heaven to earth.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Prayer comforts us us and our losses, and unites us
- 5:02Speaker 2: in times of compassion. Prayer heals us of disease and affliction,
- 5:08Speaker 2: forgives us for our transgressions and faults. Prayer puts faith
- 5:13Speaker 2: in motion and fear to flight. Prayer communicates the authority
- 5:18Speaker 2: of God and the confidence in acknowledging that authority. Prayer
- 5:24Speaker 2: is the demonstration of faith in action. Prayer is the
- 5:29Speaker 2: expression of gratitude and the confession of attitude. Truly, prayer
- 5:37Speaker 2: is the supreme language of all races, creeds, and cultures.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 5:45Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to
- 5:47Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard k. You can hear
- 5:50Speaker 1: this message in its entirety again online as well as
- 5:54Speaker 1: Richard's entire archive at Talknetwork Radio dot com. We would
- 5:58Speaker 1: like to acknowledge our feet song how Great Is Thy
- 6:01Speaker 1: Faithfulness from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns album, unless otherwise.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Express scriptures are read from the Holman Christian Standard Bible,
- 6:11Speaker 1: which is published by Homan Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Additional resources used for Reflections on the Word with Richard
- 6:18Speaker 1: Kay include Great Is Thy Faithfulness by Our Daily Bread
- 6:23Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 6:27Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Jesus was not asked how to yield, deliver, or set
- 6:35Speaker 2: free those in bondage. Although he did teach and demonstrated
- 6:41Speaker 2: all of those things, but he was asked by his
- 6:45Speaker 2: followers to teach them how to pray. Examine your prayer life,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and you will find joy in serving him. Joy is
- 6:58Speaker 2: an acronym. It stands for Jesus verse others. Next yourself,
- 7:06Speaker 2: lead us, Lord, teach us how to pray. And that
- 7:13Speaker 2: is today's Reflection on the Word.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 7:21Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Word with
- 7:24Speaker 1: Richard k or Richard and the entire team. This is
- 7:27Speaker 1: Chuck Christie saying thanks for listening to this edition of
- 7:30Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word.
