- 0:00Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Kenny Wallace Show,
- 0:04brought to you by Jags, the leader in high performance
- 0:07aftermarket car parts. Remember to go to jags.com for
- 0:12everything you need to fix your hot rods up.
- 0:15Well, as you can tell, we are here at the Minnesota airport
- 0:19and we are gonna talk a little bit about Talladega.
- 0:23Usually don't break the races down, but there was so much.
- 0:25This one had it all right. It had a lot of controversy,
- 0:28especially Chase Ellie getting the tow back to the back to the
- 0:32pits. Chase Ellie got his car towed
- 0:35back. That's the highlight.
- 0:39All right, let's sit down here. OK, so Ricky Stenhouse, Ricky
- 0:45wins it by .006 over William Byron in second, Brad Keselowski
- 0:51in 3rd. Now I'll watch this complete
- 0:54race on the airplane. Hit, hit, hit NBC right there.
- 0:58Big as all get out. So you know, we see the
- 1:03difference between 1st and 2nd. We saw the big Iraq, right?
- 1:07By the way, Herminator is not like I'm not like Larry Mack,
- 1:12but NBC did a good job. Did you know that was the
- 1:15biggest wreck in Talladega history?
- 1:1928 car pileup. That's what they said if it's
- 1:23wrong get get mad at NBC because it was on the screen.
- 1:28So the biggest wreck at Talladega history 28 cars
- 1:32involved and I think it was that gap.
- 1:34I I mentioned that 30 seconds ago.
- 1:35What happened? You have the leader out front,
- 1:38Cindrick. Well, it's kind of tied every
- 1:40once in awhile. They was three and four wide all
- 1:43day long. Way more four way wide.
- 1:46Hey Kenny, get get it out of your mouth.
- 1:48Clean your mouth up, Wallace. So not really sure why they were
- 1:54more for why than I've ever seen.
- 1:57Listen, everybody says, hey, Wallace, you ever have any
- 2:02success there? I had a lot of success there.
- 2:08But you know, I always did my deal like this.
- 2:10If I could lead, I would lead if my car was fast.
- 2:13If my car wasn't fast, then I would say let me know when
- 2:16there's 10 to go and I would time it.
- 2:18And back in my day, it was always like, if you want to stay
- 2:22out of trouble, be upfront. Now that's a damn joke.
- 2:27If you're upfront, you're going to wreck.
- 2:29So the leader, and we see this all the time now.
- 2:33We see it all the time. Cindric's leading and there's
- 2:37this gap, right? And and here comes Brad
- 2:40Keselowski. You can't blame this on Brad
- 2:43Keselowski because as soon as he hits Cinder, then Joey Logano's
- 2:48hitting him. And let me tell you, as a race
- 2:50car driver, you're driving like this and all you can see is the
- 2:54car in front of you through the, you're looking through the
- 2:56windshield and you're listening to your spotter.
- 2:59When you're bumper to bumper like that, you're just, you're
- 3:01like an idiot. I, I, you really are.
- 3:04You're like, duh. And you're there.
- 3:07You know, you're, you know, you're trying to prove you're
- 3:09worth it. I'm a gladiator, I'm a bad ass.
- 3:12But in really, in reality, you're a dumb ass 'cause you're
- 3:15just bumper to bumper and you're doing what that car in front of
- 3:19you is doing. So when Brad Keselowski had that
- 3:24big closing rate, Cinder got out there too far and Brad goes to
- 3:29bumping and he's doing the right thing.
- 3:32He goes to bumping. Well, then Joey Logano bumps him
- 3:35and they all come piling in. So it's it's hard to go.
- 3:38Well, Brad, Brad Keselowski run into him.
- 3:42No, he went to pop. He went to get up to him.
- 3:46And then then the push becomes bigger than it's supposed to be
- 3:50and they all Rex syndrome. All right, we get through that.
- 3:54I can't be long winded here just because the race was too
- 3:57exciting too much going on. I'm not going to break it down
- 4:00lap by lap. This is for all of you.
- 4:04You know that didn't see everything want to know the
- 4:06highlights. So I just I told you the
- 4:08highlight the big one that was the big one took out a record 28
- 4:12cars told you how it happened. All right, let's get around to
- 4:15the finish line here. Ricky Stenhouse, he wins it by,
- 4:20you know, he wins it. OK, not going to repeat myself.
- 4:24Almost caught myself. OK, I want to talk about Ricky
- 4:28Stenhouse for a minute here. And Ricky is a very dear friend
- 4:34of mine. I mean, listen, I don't I don't
- 4:36say this if I don't mean it. I mean, we're we're, we're,
- 4:38we're friends. Me and Stenhouse.
- 4:40We, we're, we're friends, but not great friends.
- 4:43But if I see Ricky, we're going to high 5, give a man hug.
- 4:48The thing myself and Ricky Stenhouse have in common is
- 4:51we're dirt racers, right? Jennifer and Richard Marshall,
- 4:55Priority Aviation, they sponsor me.
- 4:57Well, they're with Ricky too. So that's why we're such good
- 5:02friends. So when I said all that, because
- 5:04I want to, I want to say this a little bit and I don't want it
- 5:07to come across the wrong way. Ricky is that type of driver.
- 5:12Just when you think he's not doing good enough, right?
- 5:15You know what I'm saying? Stenhouse not doing good enough.
- 5:18He, he, oh, he wins again. You see what I'm saying?
- 5:24He wins the Daytona 500. Man, Stenhouse hasn't done
- 5:28anything all year. Oh, he just won again.
- 5:32Ricky Stenhouse two wins on the year.
- 5:36That's why he is a Cup driver. He deserves it.
- 5:39And it don't matter where you win.
- 5:41You can say, you can say Shane Van Gisberg and all he does is
- 5:44win on road courses. What do you want me to do?
- 5:48He's still winning. You could say Dale Earnhardt
- 5:51senior and Dale junior. All they did was win on the big
- 5:53tracks and they did win everywhere, no doubt.
- 5:55But you understand my point. My point is this.
- 5:59Ricky Stenhouse wins his timing as a gift from God.
- 6:05I mean, and he was so awesome after that race.
- 6:09I almost wanted to give him the nickname like we give Helio
- 6:12Castro, Neva's Spider Man. If you didn't watch it,
- 6:15somebody's going to have it out there.
- 6:17Ricky was calmly jacked up on Mountain Dew.
- 6:20He climbed up the flag stand and then jumped over to the fence
- 6:25and and he he gave a shout out because, you know, you're close
- 6:28to Mississippi. He's from Olive Branch, Ms. What
- 6:32a bad ass name. Ricky Stenhouse from Olive
- 6:35Branch, Ms. So anyway, right now for the controversy at hand, the
- 6:41big controversy, all right, I made a big video four or five
- 6:45days ago of NASCAR designed this car wrong.
- 6:50They know it. Their backs are against the
- 6:52wall. Now, I'm not going to belabor
- 6:54the point, but hey, how you doing race fans?
- 6:58We're finishing the Kenny Wallace show up.
- 7:01All right, I just got I can't be embarrassed.
- 7:04Got to keep digging. So anyway, what happens is they
- 7:08designed the car wrong and they said, they said, you know, Josh
- 7:12Berry spun out all the tires went flat at Kansas City and
- 7:17they wouldn't, they wouldn't tow him back because then NASCAR
- 7:19rules state if you have flat tires and you cannot drive your
- 7:23car back, you're out of the race.
- 7:26All right? We already know that because I
- 7:27made a video about it. So they have this big wreck.
- 7:33Well, there's guys with flat tires and they're stuck in the
- 7:35grass. They can't go anywhere.
- 7:37So now there's this big game going on.
- 7:39Everybody leaves your window Nets up because NASCAR rules
- 7:43state if your window neck comes down, that that's a signal that
- 7:46I'm OK, Come pick me up. You saw it play out.
- 7:51All the drivers were keeping their window Nets up at the
- 7:54Talladega wreck, the 28 car wreck, just, you know, tow me
- 7:58back. Well, OK, this is kind of a
- 8:01joke. Whose car do they tow back?
- 8:03Pretty much first? Only our most popular driver,
- 8:08Tracy Elliott, don't you know, NASCAR's like, oh, Jesus.
- 8:13So there's the innuendo. I'll pick up our most popular
- 8:16driver first. So that goes bad.
- 8:21But I'll I'll do want to say this.
- 8:23Nobody flipped. So I believe those adjustments,
- 8:27they made a little adjustment up there on the the arrow flap.
- 8:30They made a difference right in in front of the right rear tire
- 8:34that helped. Nobody flipped.
- 8:36So good job NASCAR. Nobody flipped.
- 8:39But they they got an issue. They got an issue and and when
- 8:43they get to winter time when that last race is over, they
- 8:46have got to fix this because those flat tires and those guys
- 8:51never not being able to put it in gear and drive back to the
- 8:54pits. It is backing NASCAR in a corner
- 8:58and and and it's like how what do you do?
- 9:01Because it's like, OK, that car won't move.
- 9:05Well, pick that car up. You know, I mean they don't mean
- 9:08anything wrong, but because the cars won't move, the drivers
- 9:10can't drive them back even though they've been in a wreck.
- 9:13You got 1 flat tower, it won't go.
- 9:16You got to left for a flat and it won't go.
- 9:17All right, everybody, I think we broke it down and we got Jerry
- 9:23Hoffman, I think coming up on Tuesday for Kenny conversation.
- 9:28Jerry Hoffman on Kenny conversation.
- 9:31He owns Springfield, MO dirt track.
- 9:33He he's a character. All right, until the next Kenny
- 9:36Wallace show, we just keep on rolling.
