- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So we're talking about creativity again today.
- 0:33And this is a quote from Albert Einstein, one of my favourites
- 0:36on the subject. And of course it comes from one
- 0:39of my biggest. He just inspires me all the
- 0:42time. He's just I'm infatuated with.
- 0:44A lot of his. Thoughts and how he could.
- 0:46Shift gears. From that analytical side.
- 0:49To that creative side, oh, it's just.
- 0:51So cool. But anyway, back to the.
- 0:53Quote creativity is. Intelligence, having fun and
- 0:58just think. About that for a second,
- 1:00creativity is. Intelligence, having fun, and
- 1:04creativity. Is supposed.
- 1:05To be fun we are supposed to have fun in our lives and so
- 1:10often my experience has been being a.
- 1:14Uber creative. Person that people tend to think
- 1:17you're crazy. So they.
- 1:19Give you opinions, they tell you why things won't work.
- 1:23They give you that look, that twisted face, the side eye.
- 1:27Of like, really, you're going to try that?
- 1:30Meanwhile these are people that don't go out and try things in
- 1:32their own life. Meanwhile, these are.
- 1:34People that. Sit on the sidelines waiting for
- 1:36things to happen, and they don't do creative things, they just.
- 1:39Give. Nasty opinions or opinions that
- 1:42are unwanted or unwarranted in any way, shape or form.
- 1:46And you? Have to deal with that.
- 1:49As a creative now, here's. What's really tricky about this
- 1:51because. Most creative people, myself
- 1:53included, tend to. Have high senses of empathy.
- 1:58And be. Intuitive so.
- 2:01We operate in a very different way.
- 2:03We feel things more than anything like even though I'm I
- 2:06could say I'm off the chart. Visual I still have that high
- 2:11high level to feel very like I. Feel my way through things more
- 2:16than anything. So what?
- 2:18Does that do when you run into someone?
- 2:21Who is? Giving you those opinions and
- 2:24telling you why things wouldn't work.
- 2:26Well, it can sideline you and you have to remember.
- 2:28This quote because this is what it's supposed to be.
- 2:31Your answer. This is This is.
- 2:33The true answer to it? All creativity.
- 2:35Is intelligence having fun? So when you can remember that
- 2:38and you run into these opinions or these.
- 2:41Thoughts that are. Less than desirable, less than
- 2:47something you want to put on your bus.
- 2:49You don't want to open the door on the bus for this kind of
- 2:51crap. You need to.
- 2:52Keep it. Out so you.
- 2:54Have to remind yourself. If.
- 2:56Albert Einstein, if Mr. Einstein can say, hey, you know.
- 3:00What there put that? Aside, and remember this is just
- 3:04your intelligence having fun. You can say.
- 3:07To them, hey, you know what? I'm just experimenting.
- 3:10I'm having fun. I'm seeing what's happening.
- 3:13An experiment has failures. An experiment.
- 3:16Has lots of failures and it's OK.
- 3:20I'm OK with it. Because.
- 3:21We've never done anything on this planet getting ahead with
- 3:26anything that we have created. Without having it go sideways.
- 3:30And having to change our approach, change our approach,
- 3:34change our approach. Failure is part of success.
- 3:36End of. Story.
- 3:37People don't want to talk about. The failure, but it is a huge
- 3:40part of it. And when you can talk about it
- 3:42and you can learn from it, great.
- 3:44But you just got to remember, it's not taking away from your
- 3:47intelligence, it's just showing you what didn't work, showing
- 3:51you what didn't work. It's just like Edison said when
- 3:54he was interviewed. How?
- 3:55Does it feel to know you failed 1000 times?
- 3:57And he said. I just figured out.
- 3:59What didn't work? 1000 times Best answer.
- 4:02Ever. So how does this all relate back
- 4:06to? Your creativity on a daily
- 4:08basis. Well, this is.
- 4:10Where when you're in the weeds daily and you have all these
- 4:13things going on around you that are impeding your process, you
- 4:17don't want to know, not just. Your process but your progress,
- 4:20OK, it does both. Believe me, you have to remember
- 4:24when you can. Think about the fact that it's
- 4:26supposed. To be fun and you tap.
- 4:28Into the fun. Side of.
- 4:29It. You're.
- 4:30Giving yourself a great great. Gift in those moments.
- 4:33Because you're. Realizing, hey, I'm just having
- 4:35fun. I'm supposed to have fun, I'm
- 4:36supposed. To go through this life.
- 4:38And have some fun fun. The purpose of life is to be
- 4:41happy as. The Dalai Lama has said many
- 4:43times. So if we're.
- 4:45Happy and we're just having fun and we're experimenting.
- 4:48All of a sudden everything changes.
- 4:50And when you believe. You haven't.
- 4:52Lost your mind in the process? Of your.
- 4:55Creativity, meaning you're. Still logical?
- 4:58You're still. Using your intelligence.
- 5:00All of a sudden you don't feel so bad for it.
- 5:04And that's what's really important.
- 5:05I can remember when I first started talking about, you know.
- 5:09This chicken coop podcast. How is it that I'm going to do?
- 5:12Motivational stuff. From the chicken coop, how am I
- 5:15going to? Tie that all together.
- 5:17And I wanted to. Teach everybody about.
- 5:19This very thing because. It's so.
- 5:21Incredibly important to me. To be able to do this.
- 5:25In a creative. Way to show all of.
- 5:26You not only what? Is possible, but what is
- 5:29probable? And that is the whole thing.
- 5:32That's what's so great about this.
- 5:34So remember. As.
- 5:35You go forward, keep your creativity high.
- 5:38Have fun with it and use your intelligence.
- 5:41All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I'll
- 5:43see you tomorrow. Bye.
