- 0:00Speaker 1: This guy is not even looking at Christian McCaffrey. He
- 0:02Speaker 1: actually turned his back to the best player on the field.
- 0:07Speaker 1: What's up, good people, I'm Ed Reed, Hall of Famer.
- 0:10Speaker 1: This is the Blueprint presented by Microsoft Copilot, an official.
- 0:14Speaker 2: AI sponsor of the NFL.
- 0:16Speaker 1: We're looking at a team that could have been number
- 0:18Speaker 1: one in the NFC, San Francisco forty nine ers, but
- 0:20Speaker 1: now they gotta go to Philly.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Philly's looking for the blueprint. That's what we're here for.
- 0:25Speaker 1: We're going to see how we can stop Christian McCaffrey
- 0:28Speaker 1: in at forty nine ers offense. I got Jesse Bates
- 0:30Speaker 1: here who played against San Francisco forty nine ers. Give
- 0:33Speaker 1: us some points here on blueprint, So let's see what
- 0:36Speaker 1: you gotta say.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Forty nine Ers has always been, you know, another scheme
- 0:41Speaker 3: oriented type of team that is just on a whole
- 0:43Speaker 3: other level. You know, they have a very good feel
- 0:46Speaker 3: for coverages as a defense and how you can create
- 0:48Speaker 3: matchup problems with Christian McCaffrey.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Really good backs.
- 0:51Speaker 3: You always just think about them running the football and
- 0:54Speaker 3: being the fastest guys getting on the edge with this
- 0:56Speaker 3: guy similar to a guy that I know, b John
- 0:59Speaker 3: Robinson just as a dynamic out of the backfield as
- 1:02Speaker 3: a receiver.
- 1:03Speaker 2: That makes your job ten.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Times you know harder as a linebacker. You're trying to
- 1:08Speaker 3: stop him in the run game, and then next thing
- 1:09Speaker 3: you know, he's running the option rout on you.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So he's one of.
- 1:12Speaker 3: The best and making guys miss and having a full
- 1:15Speaker 3: understanding of how defenses are trying to contain them.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Talk about their scheme. There's so many things you could
- 1:20Speaker 1: do with Christian McCaffrey. So let's see how we can
- 1:23Speaker 1: decipher this. Let's go to the copolot Ai power technology
- 1:27Speaker 1: that the pros use on the sideline. I'm gonna show
- 1:30Speaker 1: you how the pros go through this. And if I
- 1:32Speaker 1: was playing, I wanted to look at certain plays like
- 1:35Speaker 1: clutch moments. We're gonna go to four quarter yards to
- 1:40Speaker 1: go mid play, pop right in there. Like you see
- 1:45Speaker 1: the navigation through this thing.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It's real easy.
- 1:47Speaker 1: These images are key to the sideline and what professionals
- 1:50Speaker 1: do you know?
- 1:51Speaker 2: During the game, this is what they see.
- 1:53Speaker 1: As you can see, this is a condensed formation, right.
- 1:57Speaker 1: All receivers are inside the numbers here and they already
- 2:00Speaker 1: got emotion. This is an empty set, so there's no
- 2:03Speaker 1: body in the backfield there in some type of cover.
- 2:07Speaker 2: One man the man thing.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Because this guy is moving with him. You get to
- 2:12Speaker 1: see what the quarterback is seeing from his side. You
- 2:16Speaker 1: know what the front seven is seeing the old line
- 2:19Speaker 1: those guys.
- 2:20Speaker 2: That's what we can see pre snap. Reed.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Remember these are just images that's giving us something before
- 2:26Speaker 1: the snap, and as I swipe up, it gives you
- 2:29Speaker 1: that first couple of steps of those guys releasing off
- 2:32Speaker 1: the ball. This is Christian McCaffrey. You know, he's not
- 2:35Speaker 1: being contacted. There's no collision for these guys that are
- 2:38Speaker 1: free runners. So it looked like these guys could possibly
- 2:41Speaker 1: clear out for him. We got a third and five situation,
- 2:45Speaker 1: you know, where he's not being contacted. I wouldn't think
- 2:50Speaker 1: Christian would be the deep ball in this. He's probably
- 2:53Speaker 1: the option guy. You know, these guys are clearing out.
- 2:56Speaker 1: You know, like how you let Christian McCaffery.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Be a free runner.
- 2:59Speaker 1: But you know that's what a condensed formation would do
- 3:02Speaker 1: to you being at these guys in bunches. We just
- 3:05Speaker 1: seen the images here on blueprint with the co pilot.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Now let's go to the videos where we could see
- 3:10Speaker 1: how this play plays out. So as you see, first
- 3:13Speaker 1: you got Sat Fraan motioning a receiver across the ball,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and as you see, they come out, get some spacing
- 3:21Speaker 1: and the guys just able to run a little option
- 3:23Speaker 1: route right there.
- 3:24Speaker 2: So it's a thirty five situation. So I'll be looking
- 3:27Speaker 2: at this from a Philly standpoint.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Anytime you get condensed formations, it's one of two things.
- 3:34Speaker 1: They gonna explode the offense, meaning they're gonna go either
- 3:39Speaker 1: outside run seven routes or crossing routs, pick routes, that's
- 3:43Speaker 1: what they're gonna do, or either take a shot something
- 3:46Speaker 1: like that.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Right, You're gonna see.
- 3:48Speaker 1: These guys run a game here, but all the work
- 3:52Speaker 1: is over here. When this guy comes in motion, this
- 3:55Speaker 1: guy gonna run a little stutter and run a little
- 3:58Speaker 1: option route and comes open. But this game right here
- 4:03Speaker 1: for me on defense, you got to you gotta have contained,
- 4:06Speaker 1: You gotta be disciplined come playoffs. So stay in your
- 4:09Speaker 1: rush lanes, keep the quarterback in the pocket, push the pocket.
- 4:13Speaker 1: If I'm Philly defense playing this week, you know to
- 4:16Speaker 1: try to give myself a chance.
- 4:18Speaker 2: All right.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Now, this is the backup quarterback and Kyle Shanahan is
- 4:21Speaker 1: just fitting guys in, which is great for their offense,
- 4:25Speaker 1: you know, but that'll be brock perdyt you know. So
- 4:27Speaker 1: you gotta be careful on what you're doing. A guy
- 4:29Speaker 1: like Christian McCaffrey, you gotta.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Have four eyes on him.
- 4:32Speaker 1: He's a motor in the offense, so you want to
- 4:34Speaker 1: know where he's at all at all time. Christian McCaffrey
- 4:37Speaker 1: is in the slot right there, right looking like a
- 4:40Speaker 1: tight end. Basically, just put him in a bunch like
- 4:43Speaker 1: a receiver because you got your tight.
- 4:44Speaker 2: End right here.
- 4:45Speaker 1: He's just the back staying in the backfield. If McCaffrey
- 4:49Speaker 1: was here and they had to tight end on this side,
- 4:52Speaker 1: it'll be the same route combination. So basically they'll give
- 4:55Speaker 1: you the same route too. I'm saying that to say this,
- 4:58Speaker 1: this play would come back in the game a different formation,
- 5:01Speaker 1: So you got to know this. I'm pretty sure they
- 5:03Speaker 1: ran this countless amounts of time. So that's how you
- 5:06Speaker 1: still plays. That's how you make plays. They're going to
- 5:09Speaker 1: give you the same play, just out of different formation.
- 5:12Speaker 1: To summarize this play on the defensive side, just play recognition.
- 5:16Speaker 1: These are the things that you do on a play
- 5:19Speaker 1: is to go through your checklist. You know, it's like
- 5:21Speaker 1: a plane taking off. What is your checklist before a play?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Go through that checklist, make sure you know where everybody's at,
- 5:29Speaker 1: recognize the formation, and good luck. So let's go to
- 5:34Speaker 1: the next play here as we have it all right,
- 5:37Speaker 1: and we're.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Gonna go with Christian McCaffrey.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's an empty set, but he's technically still in the backfield,
- 5:44Speaker 1: but it's empty because he's not in the tackle box.
- 5:46Speaker 1: No dB could come up here and press him or
- 5:48Speaker 1: anything like that. So just so you know, a little
- 5:50Speaker 1: small stuff like that on why coaches are doing certain
- 5:53Speaker 1: things and they want to get Christian McCaffrey in space
- 5:57Speaker 1: by himself and as a defender. If this is your guy,
- 6:01Speaker 1: if you're covering Christian, you better make sure you know
- 6:03Speaker 1: where your help is at. If this guy's covering, know
- 6:06Speaker 1: where your help is at.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You know.
- 6:08Speaker 1: So these guys should be using each other unless it's
- 6:10Speaker 1: just cover zero. Seems like all the help is inside.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Let's see what they got here. We got shotgun red
- 6:18Speaker 1: zone and we're just running verticals. If y'all watching this
- 6:21Speaker 1: play on blueprint, like y'all can break it down yourselves,
- 6:25Speaker 1: like what do I need to tell you, they just
- 6:27Speaker 1: letting them run the right corner. He's the only person
- 6:31Speaker 1: up here putting his hands on these receivers. He's actually
- 6:36Speaker 1: up there and didn't even touch him. That's a problem.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But they just free runners in the red zone. And
- 6:44Speaker 1: again this is Christian McCaffrey with nobody covering him. These
- 6:49Speaker 1: two guys are playing this drop zone where they just
- 6:51Speaker 1: reading the quarterback people.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I told you I hate drop zone.
- 6:55Speaker 1: All you defensive coordinators over there, thank y'all running the defense.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Even though it works, Sometimes that defense suck.
- 7:04Speaker 1: This is why people lose their jobs. You got to
- 7:08Speaker 1: first have the right amount of people on the field.
- 7:19Speaker 1: So the blueprint is to make sure you got everybody
- 7:22Speaker 1: on the field. Coaching ain't easy, playing ain't easy, but
- 7:25Speaker 1: professionals need to be on point. So the blueprint is
- 7:28Speaker 1: to make sure you got eleven people in the field.
- 7:31Speaker 2: You can't defend.
- 7:32Speaker 1: San Francisco and Christian McCaffrey with ten people, you know,
- 7:35Speaker 1: it's impossible.
- 7:36Speaker 2: That's why I just look like a drop zone.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They should have a detackle right here, Russian in this
- 7:43Speaker 1: lane right here. Then these guys can kind of drop
- 7:46Speaker 1: on the guys that they supposed to drop on but it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Looked like a drop zone because who's he reading? Man.
- 7:52Speaker 1: This type of stuff that make you mad, Like, I'm
- 7:55Speaker 1: giving you the blueprint, but this guy right here not
- 8:00Speaker 1: bringing his eyes to one of the best players in
- 8:03Speaker 1: the world, Like you don't need a blueprint for that.
- 8:06Speaker 1: This guy is not even looking at Christian McCaffrey. He
- 8:09Speaker 1: actually turned his back to the best player on the field.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And if he's looking at the quarterback, look what a
- 8:16Speaker 1: quarterback is looking, y'all, and he's looking at this guy.
- 8:19Speaker 1: So in summary to this, you gotta have eleven people
- 8:22Speaker 1: on the field, and I give you the blueprint. As
- 8:24Speaker 1: you see these plays that San Francisco has done, Philly,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I will watch film. They're gonna do different formations but
- 8:33Speaker 1: give you the same plays. So just be mindful of that.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Look for a little small, small tips, you know, my
- 8:38Speaker 1: blue press. Just make sure you study your tape, but
- 8:41Speaker 1: know where the best player that is on the field.
