- 0:00Speaker 1: Because fuck you That's why is a founding member of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to b F y tw episode three,
- 0:39Speaker 2: twenty two. I am your host pants Sarin. Yeah, we're
- 0:43Speaker 2: gonna play some silly games. If this sounds a little
- 0:46Speaker 2: bit different, then don't be surprised.
- 0:48Speaker 3: It is a little different. It is a surprised It
- 0:52Speaker 3: is a little different.
- 0:54Speaker 2: A bunch of stuff happened all at once, Like we
- 0:57Speaker 2: got a big rainstone and Augie got called into work,
- 1:00Speaker 2: barely made it home in time, so a lot of
- 1:03Speaker 2: stuff just kind of happened at once. So we're doing
- 1:05Speaker 2: this show remote, so it's gonna be over zoomed, So
- 1:08Speaker 2: if it sounds a little bit different, we apologize, but
- 1:11Speaker 2: we'll get back to in the studio next week. We've
- 1:14Speaker 2: also got a special surprise plan for tomorrow, actually for recording,
- 1:20Speaker 2: so we'll see how that goes. You're really looking forward
- 1:23Speaker 2: to that.
- 1:23Speaker 4: We're not telling you.
- 1:24Speaker 3: We're not telling you in the mean we're not telling
- 1:27Speaker 3: me either.
- 1:30Speaker 2: In the mean. Well, let's get to this game. We're
- 1:32Speaker 2: gonna play three silly games, as we always do. It's
- 1:34Speaker 2: a panel show inspired podcast, and we say we play
- 1:37Speaker 2: panel show inspired games and just have a great time,
- 1:40Speaker 2: which we're gonna do again, and I will introduce our
- 1:43Speaker 2: competitors first. He's a gamer and a storyteller, and he
- 1:46Speaker 2: used to be my youngest friend. Now he's one of
- 1:48Speaker 2: my best it's Augie.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Oh yeah, no theme, storyteller.
- 1:57Speaker 2: It's the same thing. Really, it repeats the same thing,
- 2:03Speaker 2: so Augie. Because we could all use it right now,
- 2:08Speaker 2: I think generally the world could use it. What is
- 2:11Speaker 2: something that brings you joy?
- 2:15Speaker 5: I mean video games obviously, Like it's an escape from
- 2:21Speaker 5: I mean it is what it is.
- 2:22Speaker 3: It is escape from reality.
- 2:23Speaker 5: It is a you are interacting with essentially a novel
- 2:28Speaker 5: or a book, and instead of it reading out in
- 2:32Speaker 5: text in front of you, it's being played out in
- 2:34Speaker 5: front of you or and you're interacting with it and
- 2:36Speaker 5: you're you're picking and choosing what happens or following a
- 2:40Speaker 5: linear path or anything like that.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And it's a very good escapism, very good escapism. It's
- 2:45Speaker 3: a good way.
- 2:46Speaker 5: I use it all the time, honestly, Like if I
- 2:48Speaker 5: have a shitty ass day, I'm on a video game,
- 2:51Speaker 5: I'm putting my heart and soul into it, no matter
- 2:55Speaker 5: what it is, because I'm getting it all out and
- 2:57Speaker 5: no one's getting.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Hurt except for the little digital Dude's that in a
- 3:03Speaker 3: fantasy game.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Fair enough, fair enough? Agreed? Agreed, Yeah, and again, let's
- 3:12Speaker 2: go over to his his opponent. He is a veteran
- 3:16Speaker 2: and a podcaster, and the technically that makes him a
- 3:18Speaker 2: veteran podcaster. It's Stevie, y'all.
- 3:22Speaker 4: What's up, brothers, It's Steve.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It's Stevie. What a weird asshole? Brother man? Same question?
- 3:35Speaker 2: What what is something that brings you joy?
- 3:39Speaker 4: Oh god, I'm I'm just gonna be that sappy little bastard.
- 3:44Speaker 6: I'm gonna say my fucking family. Man, it's it's it's
- 3:47Speaker 6: fucking true. And I mean it for even that fucker
- 3:53Speaker 6: down there.
- 3:53Speaker 4: I'm airing you too.
- 3:55Speaker 6: But like it goes to the cats, it goes to Pixie,
- 3:58Speaker 6: it goes to butter, it goes soft coddle like I
- 4:01Speaker 6: love it, Like it's the family. They're like, there's literally
- 4:05Speaker 6: what keeps me going on them? Like my family and
- 4:10Speaker 6: my friends are my family, like all you guys like,
- 4:12Speaker 6: that's what does it for me?
- 4:13Speaker 5: Man?
- 4:14Speaker 4: It really does?
- 4:15Speaker 6: And it's nice because now that it's summer and I'm
- 4:18Speaker 6: not clouded by so much fucking depression and ship. I'm
- 4:21Speaker 6: starting to realize it more too, like I'm noticing it
- 4:24Speaker 6: more so.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Fucking love. Yeah, I love you fuckers.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Hell yeah, we love you fuckers too.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Uh and finally I am your host Panthers Aaron uh
- 4:35Speaker 2: and uhless he's there. I'm not gonna do a mini
- 4:39Speaker 2: rendition to my own themes covering that you went much Yes,
- 4:49Speaker 2: thank you. I had forgotten about that.
- 4:56Speaker 4: One, but it was so did I fuck.
- 4:59Speaker 2: That?
- 5:01Speaker 4: Good?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Oh? Very good, sir. Okay, So I actually have two things.
- 5:07Speaker 2: First of all, I finished dragon Age in position nice
- 5:11Speaker 2: really that night, I thought you would really started to
- 5:15Speaker 2: get to be a slog. So I just speed ran
- 5:17Speaker 2: the rest of the game like there wasn't much left anyway,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I was thinking. I think I was like eighty percent
- 5:22Speaker 2: of the way through, and there were probably a few
- 5:24Speaker 2: more like side things I could have done, things I
- 5:26Speaker 2: could have cared about, but I didn't. So I just
- 5:29Speaker 2: basically like, I'm gonna beat the damn thing so I
- 5:32Speaker 2: can move on. And I beat it. And it was
- 5:38Speaker 2: I mean the best part of it was that Morgan returned.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Oh uh no Morgan from dragon Age origins. It's a
- 5:47Speaker 2: very similar character. It's very it's a very similar character
- 5:51Speaker 2: in that you know she's a witch. And the interesting
- 5:55Speaker 2: thing about the Dragon Age series so far is that
- 5:58Speaker 2: it largely seems to there's this mother daughter subplot running
- 6:02Speaker 2: through all three games between her and her mom, and
- 6:05Speaker 2: it's just wild and it comes to a quote unquote
- 6:09Speaker 2: conclusion in a inquisition. But anyway, the joy that I'm
- 6:14Speaker 2: feeling that I was trying to get to is I
- 6:17Speaker 2: started playing Dragon Age Veilguard and I spent an hour
- 6:19Speaker 2: this morning making my character. Oh nice, since one of
- 6:23Speaker 2: the voices you can choose for the main character is
- 6:26Speaker 2: erki Ishi, I went ahead and tried to style my
- 6:30Speaker 2: character after erki Ishi. Now I'm not the best person
- 6:35Speaker 2: when it comes to this kind of thing. I'm reasonably
- 6:38Speaker 2: good if I have like a live model I can
- 6:40Speaker 2: look at in three dimensional space, so I can see all,
- 6:44Speaker 2: you know, all sides of the person. So I used
- 6:47Speaker 2: to model wrestlers in this way. So Erica, I did
- 6:51Speaker 2: the best that I could with the pictures there are
- 6:53Speaker 2: of her on the internet, and I think I did reasonably. Okay,
- 6:57Speaker 2: I don't want to post it publicly for of offending her.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I think it looks reasonably like her, but it's just
- 7:04Speaker 2: to me, it's perfect because she has the hairstyle and
- 7:06Speaker 2: everything and it's fantastic. So I've just been running around
- 7:10Speaker 2: the beginning part of that game, and it actually, so far,
- 7:12Speaker 2: the beginning is very good. Ye, I've been enjoying myself.
- 7:15Speaker 2: It's a lot more action oriented than the previous game,
- 7:18Speaker 2: where previous game you just basically hold down the art
- 7:20Speaker 2: trigger to attack just repeatedly, so you almost felt like
- 7:23Speaker 2: you had very little engagement aside from picking the special
- 7:28Speaker 2: abilities to use here and there. So there's that joy,
- 7:32Speaker 2: but there's another and I cannot I'm so remember from
- 7:39Speaker 2: someone online has posted a YouTube video review of Fame
- 7:46Speaker 2: What it's thirty two minutes what. I haven't watched the
- 7:50Speaker 2: whole thing. I've only watched like the first seventeen seconds,
- 7:53Speaker 2: but minutes it seems like it seems like indie author
- 7:58Speaker 2: Jill enjoyed it. Hopefully she did. I can't wait to
- 8:02Speaker 2: watch the rest of the review. But this is the
- 8:04Speaker 2: first one that I know of. All the other reviews
- 8:07Speaker 2: I've gotten have been have been no joking. Yeah, all
- 8:14Speaker 2: the other ones were basically death threats.
- 8:17Speaker 3: That's why he made a second book.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Now I'm gonna do more letters.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I need more. I can't come.
- 8:26Speaker 4: What I need to get.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I I just found this literally seconds before jumping into
- 8:36Speaker 2: the zoom, So I no, my god. So I'm gonna
- 8:40Speaker 2: watch it as soon as we're done review.
- 8:42Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I'm excited to see what what what they have to say,
- 8:47Speaker 2: because I mean, half an hour on my little book
- 8:50Speaker 2: seems insane. But I'm looking forward to seeing what what
- 8:54Speaker 2: on earth they could say about it. And I hope,
- 8:57Speaker 2: I hope it's I just hope it's a fair review,
- 8:59Speaker 2: even if they didn't like it, as long as it's
- 9:02Speaker 2: a fair review.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Well, did it open with check this motherfucker out?
- 9:08Speaker 3: Actually believe this ship?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Actually? And I kind of hate to say this, but
- 9:14Speaker 2: but they opened with a spoiler. But they were reacting
- 9:20Speaker 2: in surprise to something that happens at the end of
- 9:22Speaker 2: the book.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Oh that everybody dies?
- 9:25Speaker 2: Oh yes, yes, that's yes.
- 9:27Speaker 4: None of them make it to the second or third book.
- 9:30Speaker 4: They all die.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Anyway, everybody, we're gonna play some silly games. We're gonna
- 9:43Speaker 2: start with, uh, I've completely forgotten now you absolutely? Is
- 9:47Speaker 2: it like sher Block?
- 9:48Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 9:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I got you, I got you.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I have three news stories here. All their players have
- 9:53Speaker 2: to do is tell me which one I would like,
- 9:54Speaker 2: which one I would share, which one I would block
- 9:56Speaker 2: on social media. There is only one correct combination, and
- 9:59Speaker 2: you must use all three. Our first story, Denmark helps
- 10:05Speaker 2: bats by turning streets into nightmare fuel. What the Danish
- 10:11Speaker 2: town of glad Zacs versus is trying to provide a
- 10:17Speaker 2: more hospitable environment to local bats. Now they have a
- 10:22Speaker 2: pretty large population of bats and the bright daylight or
- 10:26Speaker 2: orange bulbs of conventional street lights can they can deter bats?
- 10:32Speaker 2: They can, they can make them shy away and at
- 10:37Speaker 2: the same time those lights attract insects. So bats are
- 10:41Speaker 2: now you know, being deprived of their food and it
- 10:45Speaker 2: also shrinks their territory. So they have decided to switch
- 10:51Speaker 2: to red led bulbs. Okay, they consume they consume less
- 10:58Speaker 2: energy than the old light. It's an experiment along a
- 11:02Speaker 2: short stretch of roads to start with, but if it's
- 11:04Speaker 2: a success, they will be more widely used. It saves money, uh,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and it also is protecting the bats making it easier
- 11:14Speaker 2: for them to feed and exists.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Bugs.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I don't know, but what I can tell you is
- 11:23Speaker 2: that it makes the street look like something out of
- 11:25Speaker 2: a horror movie.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Remember these street lee its only come on at night,
- 11:30Speaker 2: So now you have a street bathed in red light
- 11:33Speaker 2: in the middle of night. Yeah yeah, yeah. They wanted
- 11:41Speaker 2: lighting that would affect the bats in nature as little
- 11:43Speaker 2: as possible without compromising traffic safety. So they've decided to
- 11:49Speaker 2: install these unusual red street lights. And bats, as you know,
- 11:57Speaker 2: are nocturnal animals. They shun shortwave like daylight, so when
- 12:03Speaker 2: they see white street lights they steer clear of them.
- 12:06Speaker 5: Obviously, I'm just gonna take your word for it because
- 12:11Speaker 5: the article like you gave us Norwegian.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you can translate it if you're if you've got
- 12:17Speaker 2: Google Chrome, But anyway, it might be.
- 12:22Speaker 5: At okay, but I can figure out by context.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I know that.
- 12:28Speaker 2: US human road users can see just fine in red lights,
- 12:31Speaker 2: so from our perspective, it won't affect road security. It
- 12:36Speaker 2: just might make you think about your personal security.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I like you, man, I can pretend Batman driving on
- 12:44Speaker 4: the road at night.
- 12:45Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, I'm sure it looks creepy shit, but
- 12:49Speaker 5: but that's pretty cool.
- 12:50Speaker 4: I mean it's pretty bad, pretty metal man, pretty metal.
- 12:54Speaker 3: And considering how much I mean, it's different in Europe.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Here in the US, we've got high beams blaring in
- 12:59Speaker 5: each other's eyes like all the time. But that's nice
- 13:05Speaker 5: because now you don't have this like bright light glare, like,
- 13:08Speaker 5: especially if you live in the area constantly in your
- 13:11Speaker 5: face and whatnot.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Schery looks creepy and everything looks blood red. But it's
- 13:16Speaker 3: just light. It's not gonna hurt you.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I just hope there isn't a stranger with
- 13:24Speaker 2: a knife behind you.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Oh god.
- 13:27Speaker 5: I mean, if there is, they're gonna do it in
- 13:29Speaker 5: absolute darkness, not in any lay.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Yes, sure red light.
- 13:34Speaker 3: No light is still more dangerous than red light. Just
- 13:37Speaker 3: saying I know what that is?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Fair?
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yeah, ye's logic. Fucking logic.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Gotta love that. Okay, let's move on to story number two.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Florida man with massive balls is somehow able to drive
- 13:51Speaker 2: as he asks cops if he should buy a faster
- 13:54Speaker 2: car after a one hundred and thirty mile an hour chase.
- 13:59Speaker 5: That you know, I want to say at the first
- 14:02Speaker 5: thought came to mind was like, oh man, this man
- 14:04Speaker 5: must as like a medical condition.
- 14:06Speaker 2: That Nope, I was seriously think.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Of the same thing, which this poor guy.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Nope, that was the joke. He zoomed along non Florida
- 14:19Speaker 2: roads at speeds exceeding one hundred and thirty miles an hour,
- 14:23Speaker 2: and of course this wasn't an empty highway.
- 14:25Speaker 4: No, I mean, that's what you do in Florida.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I've been there.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I know it's never an empty highway.
- 14:29Speaker 2: He was dangerously zigzagging between other road users as he
- 14:33Speaker 2: drove down the road, and he kept it up for
- 14:36Speaker 2: a long time, which is genuinely a little impressive. But
- 14:41Speaker 2: he did eventually lose control of his call, and as
- 14:45Speaker 2: you'd expect, his vehicle ended up completely wrecked. Okay, well,
- 14:50Speaker 2: miraculously he walked away from the crash completely unharmed, and
- 14:56Speaker 2: after his arrest he had the call to ask the
- 14:59Speaker 2: cops if he should upgrade his car for next time.
- 15:04Speaker 6: Yes, okay, So nobody got hurt though, and only by
- 15:07Speaker 6: standers or property older than his car.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Oh as far as as far as I'm aware, according
- 15:12Speaker 2: to this article, uh, nobody got hurt.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Okay, good, good, No, No, that's not a lot of
- 15:18Speaker 5: concerned people, however, Yeah, that's rightfully, Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 2: There's there's one more detail that you might want to
- 15:24Speaker 2: hear before you make judgment on this gentleman. He uh,
- 15:28Speaker 2: he turned off his lights and it was nighttime.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yes, that's what you do again. Snow lights are more
- 15:35Speaker 3: dangerous than he all.
- 15:37Speaker 4: He knows all he fucking knows science.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Yeah, now this guy was looking.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yeah, he was trying to run away.
- 15:43Speaker 7: No, no, because when you turn off, when you go
- 15:46Speaker 7: into what the fuck they call that ship, it's like
- 15:48Speaker 7: Blacky there's name, there's another name for it, but you
- 15:51Speaker 7: can pretty much hit a switch and it kills everything
- 15:53Speaker 7: that's illuminates in your vehicle and you just go and
- 15:56Speaker 7: they can't see you a night at all.
- 15:58Speaker 2: The wreck was impressive. The car slid off the road,
- 16:02Speaker 2: couching deep tracks into the roadside as it left the
- 16:04Speaker 2: ground and rolled into the trees. The impact broke the
- 16:08Speaker 2: car into pieces, scattering bumpers, exhaust components, and various other
- 16:12Speaker 2: parts all over the place.
- 16:14Speaker 6: The worst part is is he walked away with it unscathed.
- 16:17Speaker 6: That's the only reason he had the balls to say
- 16:19Speaker 6: that the cop and the only reason he's going to
- 16:21Speaker 6: do it again with a faster car, because if he
- 16:23Speaker 6: got injured, like say, he lost his fucking leg, I
- 16:26Speaker 6: guarantee you he wouldn't have done that ship again.
- 16:28Speaker 3: He'd be like, he's only talking because he walked away, Yeah, only.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Ability fucking feeling he was laughing about it, yeah yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 6: or yeah, or he's purposely trying to get himself hurt.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:43Speaker 2: His exact quote was, should I get a faster car
- 16:46Speaker 2: for next time?
- 16:48Speaker 3: You know, he's he's trying to kill himself. It sounds
- 16:51Speaker 3: like doesn't care because there's there's mocking the cops.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Yeah, ship, but this is like you're putting not just
- 16:59Speaker 5: yourself in danger, you're putting a lot of people in danger.
- 17:01Speaker 5: And I think even from the article themselves, like there's
- 17:04Speaker 5: a couple of neighbors that were like, Yeah, if you're
- 17:05Speaker 5: gonna do this, do it on a racetrack or on.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Duram roads when nobody's around.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Don't do this on a busy street or in an
- 17:12Speaker 5: urban area where there's kids walking around, you know, or
- 17:14Speaker 5: there's people walking around, or you know someone's home.
- 17:19Speaker 3: You're gonna go rolling in through?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Stupid?
- 17:23Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 17:24Speaker 2: Wild? Yeah, all right, Well let's move on to story
- 17:30Speaker 2: number Yeah watch it Florida again. Story number three, fourteen
- 17:35Speaker 2: year old steels bus it in Norway to go on
- 17:38Speaker 2: joy ride for the third time in six months.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Oh was it one of those cool double decker ones
- 17:46Speaker 4: like the British have.
- 17:47Speaker 5: He knows they have free metro transportation there, right, He
- 17:51Speaker 5: doesn't need.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Doesn't He doesn't have to pay for it like you
- 17:54Speaker 3: have to.
- 17:55Speaker 6: Maybe maybe they're just trying to way, Hey, if I
- 17:58Speaker 6: learned this bus, now I can get a job right
- 18:01Speaker 6: away at sixteen.
- 18:03Speaker 2: So four right, now, here's the wild part and the
- 18:09Speaker 2: part that makes absolutely no sense to me. Each trip
- 18:15Speaker 2: he has traveled about two hundred miles. Wow, he breaks
- 18:19Speaker 2: into a bus depot, he steals a bus and then
- 18:23Speaker 2: just drives the bus for like three hours, all the
- 18:28Speaker 2: while shooting videos of himself.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Stop doing it.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Driving the vehicle, which he would then upload to social media,
- 18:38Speaker 2: which of course helped the police locate him. Yeah, it's
- 18:43Speaker 2: company filed the police report. Apparently he did a very
- 18:49Speaker 2: good job driving the bus because he returned it without
- 18:51Speaker 2: a scratch.
- 18:54Speaker 5: Good for him, but he's still stealing back.
- 19:00Speaker 2: The first time. The charges against him were dropped due
- 19:03Speaker 2: to his young age and the fact that he didn't
- 19:05Speaker 2: do any damage.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see lass time.
- 19:11Speaker 2: And it turns out the police might have been a
- 19:12Speaker 2: little too positive and the company that allowed this to happen,
- 19:21Speaker 2: had not revised their security in any way. Oh dummies,
- 19:25Speaker 2: because six months later, in April twenty twenty six, this
- 19:29Speaker 2: first happened in November twenty twenty five. In April of
- 19:32Speaker 2: this year, the same kid struck again. He snuck into
- 19:36Speaker 2: a connected bus garage investby a town south of the
- 19:40Speaker 2: Norwegian capital Oslo. He then went on another road trip,
- 19:43Speaker 2: this time more than one hundred and thirty miles south
- 19:46Speaker 2: to the Swedish town of Stenungsund. He somehow crossed the
- 19:52Speaker 2: border between two countries without anyone stopping him.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it does make sense though.
- 20:01Speaker 2: The bus had a GPS tracker, but it didn't alert
- 20:04Speaker 2: the company until he had already reached Sweden.
- 20:10Speaker 4: This company's going fucking bat a thousand right now.
- 20:14Speaker 3: This is a failure with so many levels.
- 20:17Speaker 5: This is a failure on the parents slash guardians were
- 20:21Speaker 5: not like getting their kid under control and like getting
- 20:25Speaker 5: him the help he clearly needs. Because he's going around
- 20:27Speaker 5: stealing shit. Even if it's just this one thing and
- 20:30Speaker 5: he brings it back, it's not hurting anything. This is
- 20:32Speaker 5: a failure government not cracking down on what is clearly
- 20:37Speaker 5: TikTok behavior.
- 20:39Speaker 3: This is a lot.
- 20:40Speaker 5: This is a problem that's cropping up everywhere because if
- 20:43Speaker 5: you get big on TikTok, you can make it there,
- 20:45Speaker 5: You can make money there all this other shit, but
- 20:49Speaker 5: you got to do stupid shit to get famous, and
- 20:52Speaker 5: this is the kind of stupid shit they do.
- 20:55Speaker 3: This is a failure on.
- 20:56Speaker 5: Obviously the bus company for not updating their fucking security
- 21:01Speaker 5: the first time this happened. I don't know why anyone
- 21:04Speaker 5: will be like, oh, it was just a kid, a fluke,
- 21:07Speaker 5: let it go.
- 21:08Speaker 3: No, a kid showed you the flaw in your security system.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Fucking fix it.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Yeah, is a failure on the cops because clearly they
- 21:16Speaker 5: were lenient the second time too.
- 21:19Speaker 3: If this is the third time he's done it the
- 21:21Speaker 3: first time, sure, slap on the wrist. Let this be
- 21:23Speaker 3: a parent problem.
- 21:24Speaker 5: Second time, you bring the parents in and go listen,
- 21:27Speaker 5: you need to do something, or this kid's going to juvie.
- 21:31Speaker 5: The third time he's got to go to fucking jail.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Period. There's no way. There's no way they're going to
- 21:36Speaker 3: slap his fucking wrists.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I hate to say it, but you your
- 21:39Speaker 2: rent might be a little premature because we're still we're
- 21:43Speaker 2: still only on the second time, he was apprehended hours
- 21:48Speaker 2: later by the Swedish police, and again the boy didn't
- 21:52Speaker 2: do any damage to the bus or anything else along
- 21:54Speaker 2: the way, so the bus was again returned in completely
- 21:58Speaker 2: fine condition, and nobody opened a criminal case about the
- 22:02Speaker 2: theft as the boy is so young. However, they did
- 22:04Speaker 2: say that there would be consequences. This time he was
- 22:08Speaker 2: expected to Norway's Eastern police just were told the news
- 22:12Speaker 2: that he would be followed up by child welfare services.
- 22:15Speaker 2: But guess what, there's no stop in this kid. There's
- 22:18Speaker 2: no stopping him. Barely a month after the last time,
- 22:22Speaker 2: on May seventeenth, he stole a bus in Oslo, not
- 22:26Speaker 2: from connect Bus this time, but from their competitor Unibus.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Ah.
- 22:30Speaker 6: He's just spreading it, man, He's like, Oh, you think
- 22:32Speaker 6: you're a safe motherfuckers.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Oh, I'll across the street, bitch.
- 22:35Speaker 2: This time. This time he headed southwest from the Norwegian capital.
- 22:39Speaker 2: He drove to the city of christian Sand, making a
- 22:42Speaker 2: two hundred mile trip. This time he didn't drive in
- 22:46Speaker 2: the dead of night last time, last few times he did.
- 22:48Speaker 2: This time he drove down in broad daylight, attracting the
- 22:52Speaker 2: attention of other drivers who called the police. Once he
- 22:55Speaker 2: reached Christian Sand the Troy ride was over, cops took
- 22:58Speaker 2: him in and according to the local news, he's now
- 23:00Speaker 2: in the care of the police and child welfare services.
- 23:03Speaker 6: Aha, fair, fair, I think he was just training for
- 23:06Speaker 6: the next Speed movie. Maybe that's what it was. He
- 23:08Speaker 6: was getting ready for it.
- 23:11Speaker 5: So there's there's there's boredom and kids acting out and
- 23:15Speaker 5: boredom and aggravation and stuff like that, and then there's
- 23:18Speaker 5: this shit that's going on, which is this trend of
- 23:21Speaker 5: kids doing things because they see it on the internet
- 23:23Speaker 5: or because someone on the internet encourages him to do
- 23:26Speaker 5: something stupid like this, right, and yeah, it just but
- 23:30Speaker 5: the lasadaisical response like the first two times, like the
- 23:34Speaker 5: first time, I can get it. The kid didn't harm anything,
- 23:37Speaker 5: didn't do anything, don't do it again whatever. The second
- 23:42Speaker 5: time though, still like because he's a kid, like no, no, no, no.
- 23:47Speaker 5: Like first time is like okay, something clearly is going on.
- 23:50Speaker 5: Second time is yeah, holy hell. I don't have kids.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Why would I be a better parent than those who do.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I don't know, because you were raised better.
- 24:04Speaker 3: I guess that's why. No discipline. I guess, like all.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Spank your children.
- 24:12Speaker 3: You don't have to raise your hand against your kid.
- 24:15Speaker 3: You gotta just be a fucking parent, right, Yeah, I know.
- 24:21Speaker 2: All right, guys, that's the end of our three stories.
- 24:25Speaker 2: So we got Denmark helps bats by turning streets into
- 24:28Speaker 2: nightmare fuel, Florida man with massive balls asked cops if
- 24:32Speaker 2: you should drive a faster car after one hundred and
- 24:34Speaker 2: thirty miles, play hour Chase, and finally, fourteen year old
- 24:38Speaker 2: steels bust in Norway to go on a joy ride
- 24:40Speaker 2: for the third time in six months. Which one of
- 24:43Speaker 2: these did I like? Which one did I share in?
- 24:45Speaker 2: Which one of that blocks? So our last episode was
- 24:47Speaker 2: a chill show.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yes, it was no winner, but we were all winners.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I don't remember who won the one before that, off
- 24:55Speaker 2: the top of my head.
- 24:57Speaker 3: I that was a lot of time.
- 25:00Speaker 2: That's Stevie. I think I.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Think Stevie one.
- 25:04Speaker 2: All right, then Augie, you can go first. I'm just
- 25:06Speaker 2: gonna pick one. It doesn't matter. You go first. Which
- 25:10Speaker 2: one did I like? Which one I was sharing? Which
- 25:12Speaker 2: one did I block?
- 25:12Speaker 5: Their? Okay, I think you probably liked the bad story.
- 25:20Speaker 3: It's a it's a good story. Actually, no, I take
- 25:22Speaker 3: it back. You shared the bad story. Because it's a
- 25:24Speaker 3: good story. It's a very good idea.
- 25:26Speaker 5: It'll help bring down a lot of light pollution, and
- 25:30Speaker 5: it will help protect a lot of nighttime species of
- 25:33Speaker 5: animals that people just kind of overlook. You probably liked
- 25:39Speaker 5: the bus story, the kids stealing the bus three time story.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Just simply because.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Yeah, it's this kid just doing hoodlum ship over and
- 25:50Speaker 5: over and over again and then then not and apparently
- 25:53Speaker 5: two countries governments can't do anything about it.
- 25:55Speaker 2: So that's kind of you.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Know, but but you probably block the Florida man thing
- 26:02Speaker 5: because it's dangerous. But he did, like go on to
- 26:06Speaker 5: go on a race track or dirt road or you know,
- 26:09Speaker 5: do it professionally. Don't do it and then ship talk
- 26:12Speaker 5: the cops like that.
- 26:14Speaker 3: You're right somehow. Also, Florida, come on, please before before
- 26:21Speaker 3: hell freezes over, get your shit together.
- 26:25Speaker 4: This fucker chows exactly what I did. Share a block like,
- 26:28Speaker 4: so I gotta change it.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you do two of them and swap them,
- 26:35Speaker 2: or you can go entirely your own way. What do
- 26:37Speaker 2: you want to do, Stevie, Ah, this is so difficult.
- 26:40Speaker 4: I'll just I'll swap the like and share. So I'll
- 26:42Speaker 4: go like block Share.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Okay, so liking liking the bad story? Yeah, so many
- 26:51Speaker 2: and share the fourteen year old Yeah, well good choice.
- 26:56Speaker 2: That means you're exactly right. Oh shit, like the bad story.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I thought it was nice. The Florida man who gives
- 27:04Speaker 2: a ship about some asshole going crazy. I'm glad nobody
- 27:07Speaker 2: else got hurt.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 27:10Speaker 5: And the sign he showed signs of doing it again,
- 27:12Speaker 5: which means he has zero care about other people well being.
- 27:16Speaker 3: So fuck that guy.
- 27:17Speaker 4: That should be taken into account for a sentencing.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Honestly, yeah, it should be.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Oh what you said this?
- 27:23Speaker 2: Well yeah yeah, sorry, no license.
- 27:28Speaker 5: Yeah, it's be meditated, so you're planning hic, that's what
- 27:34Speaker 5: I'm hearing.
- 27:36Speaker 2: And I shared the fourteen year olds stealing the bus
- 27:38Speaker 2: because I mean this, this, this feels like it's gonna
- 27:43Speaker 2: be a movie someday. Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Probably, this feels like this story like the next Bapee Driver.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Why obviously, Yeah, honestly, like if you take the TikTok
- 27:57Speaker 2: out of it, and like there's a real like compunction
- 28:00Speaker 2: there for him, like he's trying to get somewhere to
- 28:03Speaker 2: do something, like maybe there's there could be a real
- 28:06Speaker 2: fun story in there.
- 28:08Speaker 6: He's just giving people free busts rights to where they
- 28:10Speaker 6: need to go.
- 28:11Speaker 4: He's doing charity work. He's just busting people. Oh my god.
- 28:15Speaker 2: It's also funny because he just keeps pulling it off.
- 28:18Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's adults chantop.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Because.
- 28:22Speaker 2: He gets so he drives for hours and hours before
- 28:25Speaker 2: anybody stops him. Right, So like it, kids caught twenty
- 28:28Speaker 2: minutes down the road. He's literally hours away cross fucking
- 28:33Speaker 2: national borders.
- 28:35Speaker 4: It's freaking crazy.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah. So I just I got a lot of joy
- 28:40Speaker 2: out of that story.
- 28:41Speaker 5: I just yeah, I'm just saying as hard at believe
- 28:44Speaker 5: as this is.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I have done stupid ship as a kid before, but
- 28:47Speaker 3: I yeah, because kids do stupid ship.
- 28:51Speaker 5: But you see, I got there was responsibility behind it.
- 28:56Speaker 3: I got it. I got puddied.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Wait, one of the most response ontible young men I
- 29:01Speaker 2: ever met.
- 29:02Speaker 3: As a kid.
- 29:03Speaker 5: When I did stupid shit, I got in trouble for it.
- 29:07Speaker 5: I didn't do stupid shit until CPS got called on
- 29:10Speaker 5: my parents.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Then you stop doing stupid shit.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Yeah, wild Okay, So the first point of our episode
- 29:18Speaker 2: goes to Stevie. He got a point one zero, but
- 29:22Speaker 2: you can certainly come right back. Game two is we're
- 29:24Speaker 2: two points. We're gonna play that game right after this
- 29:36Speaker 2: is your popcorn ready, then pulled a chair and joined me.
- 29:39Speaker 8: Robert Ghannis Junior I cook a table production where we
- 29:42Speaker 8: discussed the world of film from a fresh angle on
- 29:45Speaker 8: two exciting shows.
- 29:46Speaker 2: On close Watch, we.
- 29:47Speaker 8: Get to know our guests with the movies they love,
- 29:49Speaker 8: from current hits to timeless classics. And on Franchise Detours,
- 29:53Speaker 8: we believe no movie series troubles in a straight line
- 29:56Speaker 8: as we explore the journey of the series Backy x
- 29:59Speaker 8: Men and Child's Play. Both Close Watch and Franchise d
- 30:02Speaker 8: Tours are prime members of the Odd Pods Media network.
- 30:05Speaker 8: Find them wherever you get your podcasts and on cricketable
- 30:08Speaker 8: dot com. We'll see at the movies.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for game two. Game
- 30:23Speaker 2: two is going to be Pitch Me Baby one more time. Oh.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I'm going to give our players a situation or a
- 30:31Speaker 2: media franchise and give them something to do with it,
- 30:34Speaker 2: and I want them to pitch me as best they
- 30:36Speaker 2: can best. Pitch wins and earns themselves two episode points
- 30:40Speaker 2: for this episode's Pitch Me. One of the Great Granddaddy's
- 30:43Speaker 2: role playing games dragon Quest turns forty years old on
- 30:49Speaker 2: May twenty seventh.
- 30:50Speaker 6: Wait a minute, that makes susy and I played the
- 30:56Speaker 6: years old.
- 30:58Speaker 2: I played the North America version of the first game,
- 31:01Speaker 2: Dragon Warrior when I was a kid, So that makes
- 31:05Speaker 2: me old and I'm angry about that. What people may
- 31:09Speaker 2: not know is that Dragon Quest, a Japanese game, was
- 31:14Speaker 2: heavily influenced by Wizardry, proving grounds of the Mad Overlord,
- 31:18Speaker 2: an American role playing game released in nineteen eighty one.
- 31:22Speaker 2: And I played this too as a kid, which makes
- 31:25Speaker 2: me old, and I'm still angry about this. So make
- 31:29Speaker 2: me happy already, and pitch me an American video game, movie, book,
- 31:34Speaker 2: or TV show that would be massively improved by a
- 31:39Speaker 2: Japanese take on it. Tell me what would be changed,
- 31:43Speaker 2: Why would it be better, and preferably without being racist
- 31:47Speaker 2: at all, because that will make me really angry. Best pitch,
- 31:53Speaker 2: And yes, Ogi, you lost the last game. I know
- 31:58Speaker 2: you're joking. You lost the last game. Do you want
- 32:02Speaker 2: to go first? Or do you want to make STEVIEE
- 32:03Speaker 2: go first?
- 32:04Speaker 3: Stevian go first?
- 32:05Speaker 2: This time? All right?
- 32:06Speaker 3: Steve, Well, I know you're you got something. That's why I.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Got something Stevie, you're up pitched me all right, gentlemen.
- 32:16Speaker 6: Originally I was gonna do a Japanese version of Doom
- 32:21Speaker 6: because I think that would make.
- 32:22Speaker 4: A lot of sense.
- 32:24Speaker 6: But unfortunately that would be the nineteen ninety seven Doss
- 32:28Speaker 6: clone Shadow Warrior that was already created. So I don't
- 32:31Speaker 6: want to go that route because to me, they'd be
- 32:34Speaker 6: kind of skimping on it because it was a Doom
- 32:36Speaker 6: clone all set in Japanese style. Instead of a chainsaw,
- 32:40Speaker 6: you had a katana. You threw throwing stars. It was
- 32:43Speaker 6: a good game.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I think Shadow Warrior is an
- 32:47Speaker 2: American invention, but.
- 32:49Speaker 6: It was a Japanese take on it, so at least
- 32:51Speaker 6: that's what I thought when I was a kid when
- 32:52Speaker 6: I played it.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I haven't played it since I was kid, either, so
- 32:54Speaker 4: that was back in Dawston.
- 32:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Shadow Realms, sorry, Shadow Warrior was three D Realms. They
- 33:00Speaker 2: were they were the new coming stuff.
- 33:02Speaker 4: So yeah, but it wasn't I could go with that.
- 33:06Speaker 6: But in my mind when I was a kid, when
- 33:08Speaker 6: I did play it, it was a Japanese title.
- 33:11Speaker 4: I didn't know, Okay, So I'm gonna switch it off.
- 33:14Speaker 6: I'm gonna go to a movie, and I'm going to
- 33:16Speaker 6: go to a movie that fuck.
- 33:19Speaker 4: It's fucking amazing. It's it's straight up fucking amazing.
- 33:22Speaker 6: So I'm choosing in Glorious Bastards, the reasons, the reasoning why,
- 33:27Speaker 6: the reasoning why, and I know you think about it,
- 33:30Speaker 6: World War two, Nazis and whatnot and who's on what
- 33:32Speaker 6: side and ship, but this would actually follow a squad
- 33:36Speaker 6: of Japanese Americans. So there's actually a full squad of
- 33:39Speaker 6: Japanese Americans taking back what they the Nazis, and then
- 33:44Speaker 6: the axis of the fucking the evil Japanese and Ship
- 33:48Speaker 6: who are allied with the Nazis at the time. These
- 33:50Speaker 6: are the American Japanese that are standing in their ground
- 33:54Speaker 6: to fucking fight for what is actually right and ship,
- 33:56Speaker 6: and they go after all these fuckers man, unt and down,
- 33:59Speaker 6: fucking Nazis left and right.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Man going balls at the wall and shit.
- 34:03Speaker 6: Instead of like like Inglorious Bastards, they had the bear
- 34:07Speaker 6: Jew and shit, nah man, they got the fucking Tanto
- 34:10Speaker 6: Samurai and shit, and he's got the fucking Tonal story
- 34:12Speaker 6: and he's just like nah mo fucking and they do
- 34:16Speaker 6: like all the fucking cool shit in that so that's
- 34:19Speaker 6: all I want to go. I want to go over.
- 34:21Speaker 3: They do like a BUSHEETO take on Gloria's bastards.
- 34:24Speaker 6: Yeah, so you have the Japanese who were over here
- 34:28Speaker 6: because they had the as horrible as our fucking history
- 34:30Speaker 6: is here. They had the Japanese and German camps and
- 34:32Speaker 6: ship and it was fucking bad just because they their
- 34:36Speaker 6: ancestry is from fucking Japan and.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Shit, we just did this. Shit's fucking wrong.
- 34:39Speaker 6: But this would show a better side of that, you know, Like, no,
- 34:43Speaker 6: these are Japanese people who came came to America, you know,
- 34:47Speaker 6: trying to like have the great life that they could
- 34:50Speaker 6: have for themselves, and shit going against the oppression and
- 34:53Speaker 6: shit over there, and the war fucking breaks out there,
- 34:55Speaker 6: Like nah, we're fucking doing this. We're fucking flighting and
- 34:58Speaker 6: just liking fucking the fucking other wars and ship like
- 35:01Speaker 6: the tusky Ye Airman that was an all black fucking
- 35:05Speaker 6: squadron Air Force Squadron three thirty second baby, fuck yeah,
- 35:08Speaker 6: fucking tusky Year. I mean the same fucking thing, except
- 35:11Speaker 6: these are the fucking land troops man as the fucking
- 35:13Speaker 6: Japanese Americans going after these bitches I think it'd be
- 35:16Speaker 6: fucking cool.
- 35:17Speaker 4: I'm bound for it, okay uh.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I do enjoy the idea of a Bushido flavored inglorious Bastards.
- 35:25Speaker 2: I do have a concern. I'm like, I'm just I
- 35:28Speaker 2: just don't know why the good guys have to be
- 35:30Speaker 2: Japanese American when they could just be Japanese.
- 35:33Speaker 6: But you know, they're in America and that before the wars,
- 35:35Speaker 6: you know, because they're there first and the war kicks off,
- 35:38Speaker 6: they have to sign up at some point.
- 35:40Speaker 2: But they could have just been Japanese.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Well, I guess so. I think that's what originally I said,
- 35:45Speaker 4: and I fucking changed it. Yeah, I did.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I changed it.
- 35:50Speaker 4: That's on me.
- 35:50Speaker 2: I changed it. So yeah, I'm still gonna tell you
- 35:52Speaker 2: I really like the idea of a of a Bushido
- 35:56Speaker 2: style inglorious Bastards. I think they could be really good.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I think even like a like a movie in the
- 36:04Speaker 2: inglorious Bastard style but took place like during the Shogun
- 36:08Speaker 2: period could be really cool with Oda and Nobinaga and
- 36:13Speaker 2: all that.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Like you had a squad you're following and like you know.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Like like yeah, like like a small squad trying to
- 36:19Speaker 2: take down the evil leader of an evil regime, you know.
- 36:22Speaker 6: Yeah, And just like in the end of fucking Glorious,
- 36:25Speaker 6: they take out Hitler and Ship.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Just like at the end of that movie.
- 36:28Speaker 6: They fucking Timmy gunned the fuck out of his face
- 36:30Speaker 6: for like five minutes.
- 36:31Speaker 4: It was awesome. It's just getting turned the wash and
- 36:34Speaker 4: I'm like, this is the best thing ever.
- 36:38Speaker 2: She's okay, all right, well, solid pitch, Let's see what
- 36:43Speaker 2: Aggie can do. It's your turn, pitch me, okay.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Uh So I was thinking something a little bit more
- 36:53Speaker 5: along the lines in your wheelhouse, uh A, perhaps a
- 36:57Speaker 5: text Murphy game, a Japanese style, so.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Picture it is.
- 37:03Speaker 5: It's still text Murphy, still the guy playing text Murphy,
- 37:07Speaker 5: but he's gone to whatever that time frames Japan, basically
- 37:13Speaker 5: whatever that Japan would be in that timeframe, and he
- 37:16Speaker 5: meets up with another a Japanese detective. It's all noir
- 37:21Speaker 5: style still, and he's teaming up with this detective to
- 37:26Speaker 5: investigate missing persons that the detective believes is associated with
- 37:32Speaker 5: the local yakuza. And you still get all like the puzzles,
- 37:36Speaker 5: but in this time it's like Japanese style puzzling. I
- 37:40Speaker 5: wish I had some offhand to kind of describe what
- 37:42Speaker 5: they would be, but like and it would be more
- 37:46Speaker 5: it would be less actiony, more noir, more just kind
- 37:50Speaker 5: of like.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Beats on.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Pressuring on someone's honor as opposed to like just trying
- 37:57Speaker 5: to beat him back in the alley for information kind
- 37:59Speaker 5: of thing. More of a more of a sophisticated kind
- 38:02Speaker 5: of like I guess a samurai like take to the
- 38:07Speaker 5: investigation as opposed to just like your beat.
- 38:10Speaker 6: Cop or you could do a Japanese puzzle box is
- 38:13Speaker 6: one of the puzzles, that's true, and.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Ship oh my god.
- 38:17Speaker 5: Yeah, they'd be like Japanese coy pond or whatever, and
- 38:21Speaker 5: they're like a puzzle in that you have to you
- 38:24Speaker 5: have to find like.
- 38:24Speaker 3: A specific fish that has a message on it, Yes.
- 38:30Speaker 4: The blue fish or the red fish? Air in which
- 38:32Speaker 4: one do you choose?
- 38:36Speaker 2: So I do, I do have to take some of
- 38:39Speaker 2: the some of the wind out of Steamy Sales and
- 38:41Speaker 2: let him know that the Pandora directive has already featured uh,
- 38:45Speaker 2: not Japanese but Chinese puzzle boxes.
- 38:49Speaker 3: So yeah, no, no, that is.
- 38:54Speaker 2: The major crux of the plot of that particular text
- 38:57Speaker 2: movie games. But I love that your mind immediately went there.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Uh and oh man, I'm sorry, Stevie, I have to
- 39:06Speaker 2: give this one.
- 39:07Speaker 4: No, no, no, that's fair.
- 39:10Speaker 2: The sense of wonder that came when you when you
- 39:13Speaker 2: specified like Japanese noir and having it be more social,
- 39:19Speaker 2: having it be more about social honor and that sort
- 39:22Speaker 2: of thing like that, that's really interesting. That's forcing Texts
- 39:25Speaker 2: to play a game that he has no idea what
- 39:27Speaker 2: the rules even are.
- 39:28Speaker 5: He can't beat information out of people. He's got to
- 39:30Speaker 5: appeal in a different way.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and I'm just imagining it now, and it's
- 39:38Speaker 2: just so cool because.
- 39:39Speaker 9: I'm I'm envisioning I've seen some like Japanese maybe not noir,
- 39:47Speaker 9: but that same side very similar.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Very very slow, very very it takes its time, but
- 39:55Speaker 2: it's very intelligent, you know, heavily with great dialogue and
- 40:02Speaker 2: that sort of thing. So yeah, I was just I
- 40:04Speaker 2: was just digging that pitch, like I just had this
- 40:06Speaker 2: sense of wonder the whole way throughout, Like that would
- 40:09Speaker 2: be so cool. Fu. Yeah, of course he kind of
- 40:12Speaker 2: cheated by by using text Murphy, but yeah, the.
- 40:16Speaker 10: Ideal alone is like it wouldn't really like work like
- 40:21Speaker 10: for that noir style, there isn't really any other games,
- 40:24Speaker 10: like there is quite literally a game called Noir, but
- 40:28Speaker 10: that game is ship, So why would I?
- 40:33Speaker 2: Yes, all right, so two points go to It is
- 40:35Speaker 2: two points to one in favor of Agi, but that
- 40:38Speaker 2: will change when we play game three. It's gonna decide it.
- 40:41Speaker 2: It's worth three victory victory points. It's worth three episode points,
- 40:45Speaker 2: and we're going to play that game right after this.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for game three. Game
- 41:11Speaker 2: three is gonna be the dumpster fire. I've got five
- 41:14Speaker 2: categories here, and our players are gonna take turns trying
- 41:17Speaker 2: to suggest to me what about that category irritates them
- 41:20Speaker 2: enough that they want to throw it into a dumpster fire.
- 41:24Speaker 2: The best answer will win that category, and the first
- 41:27Speaker 2: player to win three categories wins the game and earns
- 41:29Speaker 2: three episode points. So we will start with Well, Stevie
- 41:35Speaker 2: gets to choose who starts. Would you like to go
- 41:37Speaker 2: first or do you want to make AUGI go first.
- 41:39Speaker 4: I'm actually gonna make aug Ego first on this one.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Okay, Oggi. Our first category is racing games. What about
- 41:47Speaker 2: racing games? Would you throw into a dumpster fire?
- 41:51Speaker 5: I would throw the fact that they need gimmicks to
- 41:54Speaker 5: be entertaining.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Every racing game, if it was just a straight racing.
- 41:59Speaker 5: Game like a NASCAR game, most boring thing you'd ever
- 42:03Speaker 5: fucking play.
- 42:03Speaker 3: I guarantee it.
- 42:05Speaker 5: Every game has to have a gimmick. If it's like
- 42:07Speaker 5: Mario Kart, you're.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Basically pvping the entire time.
- 42:11Speaker 5: Fucking even Forza has like crazy fucking ship you can
- 42:15Speaker 5: do to speed up and go around bends.
- 42:17Speaker 3: And then what was the game we played.
- 42:19Speaker 5: That we actually liked, like you were kind of fighting
- 42:22Speaker 5: each other what you would call its like.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, oh oh split second, it was awesome.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Without that ship, that game would be ship.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Yeah that's fair. That's so fair.
- 42:38Speaker 2: So you you actually want to take those away.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Or I want to throw racing games without without gimmicks
- 42:48Speaker 5: into the dumpster fire, because it's just like watching Nascar
- 42:53Speaker 5: at that point that you have slight control over Yeah.
- 42:57Speaker 2: You're just driving. Yeah really, which to some people is
- 43:02Speaker 2: half the fun.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Like, sure, there are there are tuck simulators.
- 43:05Speaker 2: There are like there are like leagues of people online
- 43:09Speaker 2: who play some of these incredibly high detailed races.
- 43:13Speaker 6: I used to play Floriza with Broom, and it's crazy.
- 43:16Speaker 6: If I logged in now and I knew my account,
- 43:18Speaker 6: I could race with him still even though he hasn't played,
- 43:20Speaker 6: because they'll have his last thing on it.
- 43:22Speaker 2: But yeah, I get it all right, Stevie, same same thing.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Racing games, well, racing thrown into a dumpster fires and go.
- 43:32Speaker 6: Would this be constante the same or not? I seed
- 43:34Speaker 6: to know that every racing game is the fucking same.
- 43:37Speaker 6: I don't think they're two different enough, because they are
- 43:40Speaker 6: all the same.
- 43:41Speaker 4: And I play racing games.
- 43:42Speaker 6: I've played a bunch of Forza's, and I usually only
- 43:45Speaker 6: play it just to change my graphics make sure it
- 43:47Speaker 6: isn't really four K, no joke.
- 43:49Speaker 4: That's how I test my computers.
- 43:50Speaker 6: I play that game and then I turn it off
- 43:52Speaker 6: and uninstalled it again because I got it for free once.
- 43:55Speaker 6: I would just say, I don't know they're fun with
- 43:58Speaker 6: my friends, They're boring as fuck soul, I'll throw that in. Yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 6: racing games are more fun with friends, but solo is
- 44:05Speaker 6: just garbage and they should just burn all solo racing games.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Okay, dumpster Fire single player yeah, dumpster.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Fire single player racing.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Games Okay, fair enough, This is interesting. I don't really
- 44:20Speaker 2: know which way to go with.
- 44:22Speaker 4: That's awesome, I.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Can't.
- 44:27Speaker 4: You're the charge. You could do whatever you want.
- 44:29Speaker 5: I could.
- 44:30Speaker 4: I could.
- 44:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna say so. There was an instant win answer
- 44:34Speaker 2: on this one.
- 44:35Speaker 3: What was it?
- 44:37Speaker 2: It was, uh, racing games should need to have. Well,
- 44:45Speaker 2: this is not something I would throw away. It's something
- 44:46Speaker 2: I really want. But I guess that's that's kind of
- 44:48Speaker 2: the same thing. It's kind of like Augies, where yeah,
- 44:51Speaker 2: it's not so much. Why isn't it there racing games
- 44:56Speaker 2: with RPG mechanics. Why aren't there racing games their PG mechanics?
- 45:01Speaker 2: There actually is one. It's called Racing Lagoon. It was
- 45:05Speaker 2: again released only in Japan and only for the PS one,
- 45:09Speaker 2: but a translation is available and I plan on checking
- 45:12Speaker 2: it out. But it sounded fascinating to me. I'm like
- 45:16Speaker 2: a lot of a lot of racing games have the
- 45:18Speaker 2: mechanic where you earn money for races and then you
- 45:21Speaker 2: buy better parts for your car, but not your own
- 45:24Speaker 2: actual skill as driver levels up in any significant way,
- 45:27Speaker 2: and it would be I wonder how that would be
- 45:30Speaker 2: enacted put into practice. It could be interesting, I think,
- 45:34Speaker 2: So that's why I would pick it. Having said that,
- 45:37Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna have to go with Augie just
- 45:39Speaker 2: because my favorite racing game did have a gimmick, which
- 45:43Speaker 2: was Burnout Revenge, which allowed you it wasn't short the
- 45:48Speaker 2: split second, but Burnout Revenge had the takedown system where
- 45:52Speaker 2: if you took down an enemy car, you got a
- 45:54Speaker 2: massive boost you could then use to just speed up
- 45:58Speaker 2: to crash into more stuff. And also the crash mode
- 46:00Speaker 2: in that game was hell of fun. Hell anyway, So
- 46:05Speaker 2: here's the gimmicks and racing games. All right, Let's move
- 46:09Speaker 2: on to our second category, which is haircuts. Stevie, that's
- 46:15Speaker 2: a bald man. What would you what would you like
- 46:20Speaker 2: to throw into the dumpster fire about haircuts? Thirty seconds?
- 46:23Speaker 6: And do I just say all of them so nobody's
- 46:26Speaker 6: allowed to have haircuts ever against fuck them all?
- 46:29Speaker 3: Or do I say I'm ahead of the curve again.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Ahead of the curve?
- 46:35Speaker 6: I don't know the fact that that I can't really
- 46:37Speaker 6: fucking enjoy them anymore? How about that the joy of
- 46:41Speaker 6: haircuts is fucking dead to me?
- 46:46Speaker 2: What you want to throw into a dumpster fire is
- 46:48Speaker 2: the fact that haircuts are not enjoyed able to be
- 46:51Speaker 2: enjoyed by.
- 46:52Speaker 6: Biball people like not anymore. Like even when I was
- 46:54Speaker 6: overseas and iul haircut like you could do shit?
- 46:58Speaker 2: Ye fair, okay, Oie, it's over to you. What about
- 47:03Speaker 2: haircuts would you throw into a dumpster fire?
- 47:05Speaker 5: Third, well, as a man who hasn't got a haircut
- 47:07Speaker 5: in a while, I will say capitalism. I mean no, genuinely,
- 47:16Speaker 5: it just simply it seems like haircuts like no offense
- 47:21Speaker 5: to anyone, any cosmetologist out there, anyone who went through
- 47:23Speaker 5: the process of learning how to cut hair, to make.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Up all that cool stuff, no offense to you at all.
- 47:30Speaker 5: I just feel like, why are we paying so much
- 47:35Speaker 5: to basically take something away?
- 47:37Speaker 2: And that's fair, that's fair, honestly, Oh man.
- 47:44Speaker 4: I mean, last time I got a haircut, it was
- 47:46Speaker 4: six dollars.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Again, this is really hard.
- 47:49Speaker 3: I got a haircut it was like over thirty dollars.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Again, this is really.
- 47:54Speaker 3: My hair wasn't this long.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Because I can see Stevie's point, I am also a
- 47:59Speaker 2: bald man, but I occasionally grow the sides out, and
- 48:01Speaker 2: I have gone to get a haircut within the past
- 48:04Speaker 2: twelve months, and there's something about a haircut that I
- 48:08Speaker 2: just really enjoy. But then but then the part that
- 48:12Speaker 2: sucks is at the end when they try to upsell
- 48:15Speaker 2: you on all the ship they have, like you know,
- 48:18Speaker 2: for for all this stuff. And they don't even bother
- 48:20Speaker 2: with me anymore. They take one look at me and go,
- 48:22Speaker 2: you don't need anyone. Why bother you? You're bald. I
- 48:27Speaker 2: don't even we don't even know why you came in
- 48:28Speaker 2: to day. So I am gonna go with Stevie because
- 48:32Speaker 2: I miss being able to go, and because I it
- 48:38Speaker 2: used to be, Yeah, it used to be you'd get.
- 48:40Speaker 4: A little felt good, you felt good, great.
- 48:43Speaker 2: You you always felt great after a haircut, you know, always.
- 48:46Speaker 2: And I was like, oh man, I have learned, but
- 48:51Speaker 2: now I save so much money by just shaving it myself.
- 48:54Speaker 3: I was gonna say, I like, no offense to anybody.
- 48:56Speaker 3: I'm just that self sufficient.
- 48:57Speaker 5: I just can just prefer to either have a cut
- 49:00Speaker 5: myself or have my sister do it or somebody else.
- 49:02Speaker 3: Just I don't care what it looks like. I'm a guy.
- 49:04Speaker 3: I can literally shave bald and be fine.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Yeah there, all right, So that's one category apiece. We're
- 49:12Speaker 2: gonna go back to Augue with this next one, and
- 49:14Speaker 2: this might be read up your alley. What about experience points?
- 49:19Speaker 2: Would you throw into a dumpster? Fire.
- 49:22Speaker 4: I don't take my answer. I swear to God I
- 49:25Speaker 4: want to walk into your room and hit you in
- 49:27Speaker 4: the face.
- 49:27Speaker 3: Thirty SECONDSAD starts. Now, Okay, I fucking.
- 49:33Speaker 5: Hate how experience points just become this fucking slog currency you.
- 49:38Speaker 4: Have to earn, the.
- 49:43Speaker 5: How it multiplies over levels and you have to earn
- 49:46Speaker 5: more and more and more. It just feels just like
- 49:48Speaker 5: a way to pad out shit and nothing more.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Okay, I will stop the timery's a few seconds left.
- 49:58Speaker 2: We'll go over to Stevie. Stevie, what about experience points
- 50:01Speaker 2: would you throw into No.
- 50:03Speaker 6: Joke was just gonna say, hey, you're always chasing the
- 50:05Speaker 6: fucking dragon. But apparently that doesn't fucking matter now, you
- 50:08Speaker 6: dick that we're creating each other on her performance based
- 50:15Speaker 6: on numbers, and she should be more about how we
- 50:17Speaker 6: actually do and now what we kill that I don't
- 50:21Speaker 6: fucking know because all you took my thing. It should
- 50:26Speaker 6: actually be based on experience, not just oh I killed
- 50:29Speaker 6: this thing, so here's your points, Like, how about you
- 50:31Speaker 6: know what I did today? I fed the entire fucking camp.
- 50:34Speaker 6: On top of that, I also give them the plan
- 50:36Speaker 6: to get in there.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, that's uh, I would I would have
- 50:44Speaker 2: gone Aggie's way, but Stevie won me over because one
- 50:48Speaker 2: of my favorite things about like the Eldest Strolls series
- 50:52Speaker 2: is that you level up what you do. So if
- 50:56Speaker 2: you swing a swords, you you get better at swing
- 51:00Speaker 2: that sword. If you you know, if you block a lot,
- 51:03Speaker 2: you get better at blocking. If you jump a lot,
- 51:05Speaker 2: you get better at jumping, you know all that stuff
- 51:07Speaker 2: like that is it just seems like a natural like
- 51:12Speaker 2: as opposed to me, this is entirely bland. Here's some
- 51:16Speaker 2: points because you kill the rat.
- 51:19Speaker 3: You know you're you're right, because like, if you think
- 51:21Speaker 3: about it, it's great. No, it makes sense because.
- 51:25Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, you level up a specific skill, you get
- 51:28Speaker 5: more XP in that skill or experience general experience.
- 51:31Speaker 3: You level up to like level three or whatever, like
- 51:33Speaker 3: all of a sudden, you.
- 51:33Speaker 5: Know ship that you've never practiced or gone before life,
- 51:39Speaker 5: Like I killed like fifty goblins, and all of a sudden,
- 51:42Speaker 5: I know how to cast fucking lightning bolts up my
- 51:45Speaker 5: ass Like.
- 51:47Speaker 3: This happened.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Yes, uh so, surprisingly, category goes to Stevie. Stevie is
- 51:54Speaker 2: two to one, needs this one to stay in the game,
- 51:58Speaker 2: and Stevie we start with you, Ryan Reynolds. What about
- 52:03Speaker 2: Ryan Reynolds? Would you throw into a dumpster fire? Thirty seconds?
- 52:07Speaker 2: And go the fact.
- 52:08Speaker 4: That I think he's reached his peak with his fans.
- 52:12Speaker 4: I think with the.
- 52:13Speaker 6: Final Deadpool Wolverine and that and all the advertising they
- 52:17Speaker 6: did together, like Hugh Jackman and him and all that,
- 52:20Speaker 6: I think he's reached his peak with everybody. And it's
- 52:22Speaker 6: not a bad thing. It's a good thing. I think
- 52:24Speaker 6: he's leaving on a great high note. But honestly, how
- 52:28Speaker 6: much further can Marvel go with him? At this point?
- 52:30Speaker 6: You're going go so far into that. I love him,
- 52:33Speaker 6: but I think for that spot he's done on time?
- 52:38Speaker 2: Okay, well timed over to AUGI, AUGI, what about Ryan Reynolds?
- 52:43Speaker 2: Would you throw into a dumpster fire? Thirty seconds?
- 52:45Speaker 5: And go the fact that that Canadian went and sponsored
- 52:49Speaker 5: a European football team but not a Canadian hockey team.
- 52:56Speaker 2: Man, Oh, you do not need the rest of your time.
- 53:02Speaker 2: I'm awarding this category. That is the row.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Actually, you should tweet him that. I know you're not
- 53:12Speaker 4: on Twitter.
- 53:12Speaker 3: You don't know if he doesn't.
- 53:15Speaker 4: But if he doesn't, that's amazing. He does every Canadian
- 53:21Speaker 4: check goes partially.
- 53:22Speaker 3: I'm not questioning if he likes hockey or not. I'm
- 53:25Speaker 3: just questioning, you know, his.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Allegiance, his sports allegiance. He's no longer Canadian.
- 53:34Speaker 6: The fucking Prime Minister's like, no, get him out, send
- 53:36Speaker 6: him back to America, get back to l a fucking actor.
- 53:41Speaker 3: But you just don't I have it was a joke,
- 53:50Speaker 3: fellow comedian.
- 53:50Speaker 2: I hope you appreciate this so good. It was just
- 53:56Speaker 2: so brilliant I had to go. So it's a tie
- 54:00Speaker 2: two categories apiece. So we go to our last category, which,
- 54:04Speaker 2: as always is the wild card. This can be anything
- 54:08Speaker 2: that all just don't copy something we've already done.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Okay, I can't remember.
- 54:15Speaker 2: Oggie, you are going first, What if anything in the
- 54:20Speaker 2: entire world would you throw into a dumpster fire thirty
- 54:24Speaker 2: seconds and go.
- 54:26Speaker 3: I wish coffee wasn't also a diuretic.
- 54:30Speaker 5: I want to be able to get my caffeine in
- 54:34Speaker 5: in the morning and not worry about being near our
- 54:37Speaker 5: toilet within the next hour to three hours later, you
- 54:41Speaker 5: know what I mean, Especially if I'm already at work
- 54:43Speaker 5: doing stuff or busy with somebody.
- 54:46Speaker 3: It's not a good time.
- 54:47Speaker 5: But you're like it's hard to function without caffeine nowadays.
- 54:49Speaker 5: It's just like and pepsi and coke rot your teeth
- 54:52Speaker 5: with all the sugar in it.
- 54:54Speaker 4: It's not great.
- 54:55Speaker 3: So and I can't do energy training and time.
- 54:58Speaker 6: Okay, I got a clearing before we go any further
- 55:01Speaker 6: because mine I already had planned, and I need to
- 55:03Speaker 6: know if this constitutes that.
- 55:05Speaker 4: If not, I need to switch that. Fuck it. I'll
- 55:07Speaker 4: just let me know once I start talking, though, because
- 55:08Speaker 4: that way the calendar counts.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Okay, you have thirty seconds and.
- 55:14Speaker 4: Go itchy buttholes.
- 55:16Speaker 6: It's not diarrhea, but like I had itchy buttholes on
- 55:19Speaker 6: my head because my butthole itches right now, And we've
- 55:22Speaker 6: all talked about the shaving thing.
- 55:23Speaker 4: We know that's not it.
- 55:24Speaker 6: Sometimes you just have a hairy butthole, and we know
- 55:26Speaker 6: what sucks having one during a meeting when there's other
- 55:28Speaker 6: people around with you. And I'm not talking about about
- 55:30Speaker 6: a fucking zoom meeting. I'm talking about in the same
- 55:32Speaker 6: fucking room, and you're just like, dude, you got to
