- 1:18Oh yes, that's right. It's another addition because
- 1:24I'm back. I'm back in black high.
- 1:29That is the white shirt. No shoes, just stocks.
- 1:36But we're letting the hair down, taking gloves off, and we're
- 1:40gonna slap somebody with them because that's what we do.
- 1:43Right now. I'm hearing my thoughts.
- 1:47Yes, a live edition of my thoughts today is I am your
- 1:51wonderful host Maitre-d' bartender.
- 1:58Also my bail men, too, in case you need Bail Dean.
- 2:01Mine. That's right.
- 2:02I have a lot of titles. Only one key.
- 2:06The key to the universe that unlocks your mind and your
- 2:09hearts and the side door by your garage.
- 2:13I got it. All.
- 2:16That's right, I. Don't know what's up, but
- 2:19welcome to everybody Late Night Thoughts.
- 2:20I am Jean Bryan and you are watching the first live edition
- 2:24of Late Night Thoughts and original podcast of Real Deal
- 2:29Media. Yesterday is real deal.
- 2:31Media not incorporated, but by you, the people.
- 2:34For the people here tonight, I'm going to be welcoming here
- 2:37shortly. Her name is Lexi Marine.
- 2:39She's got this incredible new festival that I was invited to
- 2:44participate and be at. But unfortunately, due to the
- 2:47nature of airports and my experience with them, it's a
- 2:52kind of a impossible kind of feat to accomplish.
- 2:55But what's not impossible is bringing that festival to you.
- 2:58So tonight we're going to be getting into the Mariposa
- 3:01Freedom Fest. What's it all about?
- 3:04What does it mean? Who are these people?
- 3:07And it has a lot to do with the Mexican ambience and the people
- 3:11who love freedom. I think she is here tonight.
- 3:14Lexi Marie, who's joining us all the way from Puerto Rico.
- 3:18Lexi, welcome to late night Thoughts.
- 3:20Hi, Dean. How's it going?
- 3:21Thank you for being here tonight.
- 3:22And you're all the way in Puerto Rico.
- 3:24Am I? Am I clear on that?
- 3:26Yes, I'm currently in Puerto Rico.
- 3:28Yes, currently in Puerto Rico and I've only heard great things
- 3:31about the touristry areas of Puerto Rico.
- 3:34I'm beautiful, it is. The rum is second to none and
- 3:39the people are just incredible. I met you a long time ago.
- 3:43The details on that are a little blurry missing.
- 3:48I saw you again after many years as we we reunited in Mexico and
- 3:53I have to applaud you guys did a great job in Anarcho POCO and
- 3:56putting that whole event on. So let's talk about that and
- 4:01just exactly what is that event and what relation is it to this
- 4:06next one? In February 2024, that is going
- 4:09to be the 10th anniversary of Anarchopulco and I I'm not the
- 4:14producer of Anarchopulco, I'm the assistant producer.
- 4:17So. I I work a lot behind the scenes
- 4:20on that one. But we're we're really excited
- 4:23for this this 10 year anniversary for Anarchopulco.
- 4:27But nonetheless, you had a hand in getting myself down there in
- 4:32in the great Mike Adams as we electrified the audience and as
- 4:37I stunned the audience the very next morning when I was half
- 4:39awake interviewing people. So applause.
- 4:41Nobody, nobody knew you were half awake, so applause to you.
- 4:48What was the reception like? Because if you don't know that
- 4:53festival is a healthy amount of very politically anarcho
- 5:00capitalist, if you will. Yeah.
- 5:02Definitely an anarcho capitalist festival.
- 5:04Hyper libertarian. I mean, anarcho is in the name,
- 5:08so Anarchopulco, yeah. So it must have been a maybe a
- 5:16departure of like, what are these guys?
- 5:17You in here? Honestly, it's diversity at
- 5:19Anarcho Polco since I've been working with them for the past
- 5:22three or four years. Like we just keep getting new
- 5:25minds and new perspectives that are coming to the event and
- 5:29sharing ideas. So like, while ten years ago it
- 5:32was definitely a very cryptocurrency heavy, anarcho
- 5:36capitalist vibe, lately it has expanded to so much into so much
- 5:41more than that. It has.
- 5:44It has. And I got to tell you, the pina
- 5:47coladas were next level. Next level telling you, I I must
- 5:53have drank with Richard Gage, the 9/11 guy, well, he, I don't
- 5:59know how, but he managed to convince myself.
- 6:02He convinced me to be the runner to keep going.
- 6:04So I had a great time. We did a fantastic job and you
- 6:06guys did as well and you have this new festival called the
- 6:09Mariposa Freedom Fest. So like we we are talking about
- 6:13sustainable living, personal sovereignty, financial freedom,
- 6:18cryptocurrency, tech, privacy, permaculture, bio construction.
- 6:24Just conscious expansion, it it covers a wide range of topics,
- 6:28but the common theme is that everyone that attends these
- 6:31events, they desire more personal freedom in their life.
- 6:35Now the difference is that like Anarchopulco is this huge
- 6:39production with this huge crowd and you just get lost in The
- 6:44Secret Garden venue. There's so much going on all at
- 6:47once, whereas Mariposa is out of campground.
- 6:51It it is close enough to like Airbnbs in the airport, so very
- 6:55easy to get to, easy to attend if you don't want to camp.
- 6:59But it's it's a more intimate gathering and that like all of
- 7:04the speakers, most of them are staying there on site, they're
- 7:08sitting at the dinner table with you, you know having
- 7:12conversations throughout the event.
- 7:15And it's it's a much more intimate gathering like it for
- 7:18me. It's really good for networking
- 7:19and it's especially good for people that.
- 7:22Are currently living in Mexico or are thinking about moving to
- 7:25Mexico because most of the attendees are expats that live
- 7:30in Mexico and we we got people from the US and Australia and
- 7:34Canada last year and then people that were already established in
- 7:37Mexico also showed up. Now this is something I noticed.
- 7:41I would love to get your take on this as it was quite telling and
- 7:44revealing to me. Just about a year ago is while
- 7:47in Mexico I noticed for the first time, and I've been to
- 7:50Mexico many, many times and who hasn't if you're from
- 7:52California, I mean, you can take a wrong turn and actually
- 7:55notice. Wait a minute, there's a
- 7:57borough, there's chickens and a guy selling Chiclets.
- 7:59Where am I? You know, you might be in Mexico
- 8:02and you're like, oh, I'm just in East Sale and nevermind, good.
- 8:04But what I've noticed this time around is there was an influx of
- 8:08a Canadian people who weren't just there for the festival that
- 8:14I went to, and probably yours as well, but made the big move to
- 8:18Mexico under duress in which could be classified as refugees.
- 8:24Is that something you've noticed too?
- 8:25And why exactly is that the case?
- 8:29That's something I've experienced myself, in that I
- 8:31moved to Mexico in March of 2020 when the COVID Lockdown started
- 8:35happening in Colorado. And ever since I've been living
- 8:40in Mexico, there has been an influx of Australians,
- 8:44Canadians, Americans, Europeans. The expat numbers in Mexico grow
- 8:50every year and a lot of it is politically motivated and that a
- 8:55law was passed that like drastically changes your way of
- 8:58living in your home country and it just makes more sense to make
- 9:03a move so that you still have your personal freedoms and
- 9:06liberties to go about your daily life.
- 9:09Of course it is an adjustment moving to another country
- 9:12learning another language, but like I.
- 9:16I never look back. I've only visited the US1 time
- 9:21since I left, right? Well, you know, what I've
- 9:25noticed too is as much as people were relieved to be there, there
- 9:29was a sense of sadness because yes, you escaped, but you're
- 9:33also looking back and watching the you know what's happening,
- 9:36your friends, your hometown. And I'm sure the this, some
- 9:39similar things must occur with you.
- 9:41You know, you hear about what's happening Colorado, not
- 9:43necessarily the mandates or the lockdowns, but to hear just all
- 9:46the people from LA are going to Colorado that must hurt and be
- 9:49painful that. I mean, I know what kind of
- 9:52people are in LA, you know, being there.
- 9:53But you know what I'm saying it it must be hard to see the place
- 9:57you grow up like, you know, oh, that was my favorite burger
- 10:00stand. We go after school that's not
- 10:02there. And you know, so I got that
- 10:05sense from it, from the Canadians I I met.
- 10:07Is that what you're getting? And do you feel that way in an
- 10:10expert? Personally, I'm a bit detached
- 10:13from Colorado and where I grew up.
- 10:16I have this beautiful new life with beautiful new people and
- 10:21like just always moving forward to the next beautiful thing and
- 10:26I don't put a lot of mental focus or energy or attention
- 10:30into. The negativity of like what
- 10:34happened to like my old plans, like because I I thought I was
- 10:38going to live in Colorado forever.
- 10:40And then things changed and I haven't for over 3 1/2 years.
- 10:45So I fully accept where I'm headed, where I'm going, like
- 10:50where the breeze takes me. Because I know I'm always
- 10:54exactly where I need to be to live my life to the fullest and
- 10:58people can. Choose that path.
- 11:01Or they can choose not to take that path.
- 11:04Like, it's really all up to the individual and the environment
- 11:08that they're in. And if you're not changing it
- 11:11from the inside, then there are equal opportunities elsewhere.
- 11:18That's a very good outlook. I was just wondering, is there a
- 11:20third option? Usually there's gonna be third
- 11:24summer. I'm always picking C when life
- 11:26throws me curveballs. We have one of our real deal
- 11:29members, Angelina Wolf, saying 20 years here in Baja California
- 11:33moved from Colorado as well. Hey Lexi, this might be a
- 11:36Colorado thing. I'm just.
- 11:38I'm gonna diagnose that. Yeah, no problems elsewhere.
- 11:42May I ask what part of Colorado? I'm just curious cuz I I've been
- 11:45there. I was in Colorado Springs, the
- 11:49Jolt. Yeah, I me personally, I yeah, I
- 11:53probably would not want to go back to Colorado Springs.
- 11:55I found it very dark, undertoned.
- 11:59And yeah, I could see why that. They do have a lot of military
- 12:03there like me. I was there and I was just
- 12:06heavily involved with the Libertarian Party.
- 12:08I was chair of El Paso County. I was on the state board as
- 12:12outreach director. I was.
- 12:14I was really involved in the Libertarian politics in
- 12:16Colorado. And that that was.
- 12:19Was sad to leave. But then as soon as I left,
- 12:22everyone in the Libertarian Party started infighting about
- 12:26we shouldn't have a convention because there's a pandemic or we
- 12:30should have a convention. No masks, like.
- 12:33And there was all of this infighting in the Libertarian
- 12:36Party, and it's just like, well, y'all aren't being very
- 12:38libertarian now, are you? So, like, you know, it was sad
- 12:42to see it go that way, but. I had already left the state
- 12:46like a few months before. It really started getting weird,
- 12:49even like in my old circles. Interesting, you mentioned
- 12:53Libertarian Party. They've now come up to the fold
- 12:58here in the conversations of the big political election season
- 13:03we've been in and there has been whispers that RFK Junior.
- 13:07May run as a libertarian which I think that has now been negated
- 13:12because he's going to do independent which but you know
- 13:15that but just the the idea that could happen because the
- 13:18Libertarian party has I believe what ballot access and all 50
- 13:21states you know you know maybe 49.
- 13:24I don't know if they count Delaware as a state still where
- 13:26do you see that good the party. I mean, isn't this a great time
- 13:28for the libertarians to really make a stand or some kind of
- 13:34relevance right now? Because.
- 13:37I would love to see that happen. They tend to choose the most
- 13:42pragmatic nominee that has talking points with their
- 13:47specific platform. They choose the most principled,
- 13:51pragmatic person, and it's usually somebody that is
- 13:53unknown, has no following, and like, bless their hearts, but
- 14:00they're not winning votes by putting the Libertarian platform
- 14:04on a ballot. So like, yeah, like if they had
- 14:09RFK then they might, they might turn some heads, but I don't
- 14:16think they've ran anybody noteworthy since Gary Johnson.
- 14:20And you know, like that was the best they could do that year.
- 14:24So like, I'm rooting, I'm rooting for him.
- 14:27But like I I don't. I don't want to be a pessimist
- 14:30and be like they've got no chance.
- 14:32But like I I also like to be a realist.
- 14:36Remind me of yeah, they're like the little engine that could
- 14:39here's your fellow native Angelina Movs says lots of
- 14:43Colorado folk moved from Tellarude.
- 14:46I missed the mountains. But loving the beach, the surf.
- 14:48Nice lifestyle great food. That's right.
- 14:50You guys had mountains there and great food and a lot of
- 14:55microbreweries I heard in Colorado.
- 14:57So I probably would miss that too.
- 15:00But anyways. But you know, this is what I've
- 15:03always noticed about the libertarians is I think if
- 15:07they're what they stand for is very uniting in a way because
- 15:10it's sound money, it's no nation building, personal liberty.
- 15:15And it respects what the United States and the Constitution was
- 15:20set forth to be initially, which was a regulated democracy, a
- 15:24Republic. And like you said, winning the
- 15:27hearts and minds is more almost. And I know it is more important
- 15:31than winning an argument, you know, in politics.
- 15:35Democracy is a popularity contest.
- 15:38So like. It doesn't mean the best man or
- 15:42woman is getting voted in. It's just whoever catches the
- 15:47most attention, and that doesn't necessarily mean they're going
- 15:51to be good at leading or even do the things that they're
- 15:55campaigning on. That's true.
- 15:58I mean, look, I've always thought too, and you made great
- 16:01sense, they never picked the right people.
- 16:02Like why would they allow some someone we know?
- 16:05Like, why would they allow people like that?
- 16:06They're just like, remember the one guy had a boot on his head
- 16:09and it was like the the something.
- 16:11I mean this is. Yeah, Vermin, Vermin Supreme,
- 16:15and others. Like, I love them as
- 16:19individuals. And I I don't believe the
- 16:22Libertarian Party has ever actually nominated them as the
- 16:25presidential candidate. But they.
- 16:28So much attention that everybody sees them and get this
- 16:32impression that like, oh, that's everybody in the Libertarian
- 16:35Party. Because Libertarian Party is
- 16:37such a minority, they don't really look at how many
- 16:40different factions are within even the small minority party.
- 16:46You know what I mean? And I've always thought that
- 16:48why? Why did is it just focusing on
- 16:51the presidential and executive? Why doesn't why doesn't the
- 16:54libertarian message come to the local?
- 16:57They do. That's that's what I was doing
- 16:59with the Libertarian Party is like I was going to gun shows
- 17:02and community fairs and I was setting up like the Libertarian
- 17:06booth. And I never talked about
- 17:08candidates. I simply talked about like, OK,
- 17:11where like do you think that? You know, drugs should be
- 17:15decriminalized. Do you think people should be
- 17:18going to prison for nonviolent crimes?
- 17:21And like I would. Do you think taxes need to be
- 17:23higher? And like, I would just start
- 17:24conversations with people about the principles.
- 17:27And I did. I, like, I was very successful
- 17:32at like getting people to actually engage in a serious
- 17:34conversation and consider that like their Team Red and Team
- 17:39Blue weren't so black and white and.
- 17:43To understand that there are you know, political ideologies
- 17:47outside of the two major parties and especially like more leaning
- 17:53towards freedom in both these financial and social sense.
- 17:57So, like, that's that's what I was doing with Libertarian
- 18:00Party. I was never like vote for our
- 18:02candidate. I was like, I was more into just
- 18:05educating local people on the principles, which is important
- 18:10because I think that in your journey that was building your
- 18:13repertoire in learning from others.
- 18:15You know, just as you met people.
- 18:18And I certainly got involved when I was in College in
- 18:22politics, I thought, you know, I wanted to do that.
- 18:24I took a poli sci class until I said something that wasn't too
- 18:27popular and one of the kids stood up and rushed me and we
- 18:31got in a fight in class. Different story, but I wound up
- 18:36interning. You know, I said to my teacher
- 18:38at the time I said I don't care who I I just wanted to see what
- 18:41how it goes. I wound up interning for a
- 18:42Republican guy who was a state assembly in California.
- 18:45And I said, wow, this is just doesn't feel right to me because
- 18:49it was so convoluted, contrived, it just wasn't real enough.
- 18:53And when something's not real, I can't get behind it.
- 18:56And then you know someone like Ron Paul, I'm sure that name,
- 18:59you know, know that many of. Yeah, of.
- 19:01Course, I know. Ron Paul, yeah.
- 19:04Yes. Personally or so he changed my,
- 19:07you know, different perspectives.
- 19:09And it wasn't because he was, you know, that's what I was
- 19:13looking for. But like you said, bringing
- 19:17conversations that I've yet never heard before is what
- 19:20opened my mind. Yeah, the Green Party right now
- 19:23that has turned into my God, they want mandates.
- 19:29They only have small ballot access and they've gotten away
- 19:31what their party standards stem from and have just turned into
- 19:35DNC half the calories. You know what?
- 19:40I'm not even sure what differentiates the Green Party
- 19:43and the DNC anymore. Two things, a hammer and a
- 19:48sickle. That's what it is.
- 19:50I thought they were both into that these days.
- 19:54No, no, no. Just one has a hammer.
- 19:56That's it. And if.
- 19:57You're. Oh, I see, I see.
- 19:59They're working, working hand in hand.
- 20:02Hand in hand, hand in hand, we have somebody asking, Do you
- 20:05have to claim Mexican citizenship to get to Mexico?
- 20:10Good question. I lived illegally in Mexico for
- 20:14three years. Allegedly.
- 20:16And then one day, yeah, allegedly.
- 20:18Allegedly, I was an illegal alien.
- 20:20And then I just went to the immigration office and told them
- 20:23that I had been living there illegally for three years and
- 20:25they gave me a residence card. So.
- 20:29Like, yeah, Like now I am an accountant.
- 20:32I have online income. I was able to prove that I
- 20:36wasn't like, stealing work from them and stuff like that.
- 20:39There was like there was a process.
- 20:41But like I it was a very easy process to get my residency.
- 20:48And I hardly I didn't really follow the proper channels as
- 20:53far as getting it goes. I just, I went to the
- 20:55immigration office. Now you do have to go to certain
- 20:57immigration offices. The one in Puerto Vallarta is a
- 21:01very popular destination to go to.
- 21:04They approve. Everybody that walks through
- 21:07those doors and gives them a Mexican residency, I personally
- 21:11don't know anyone who has been turned away and I know a lot of
- 21:15people who have gone into that specific immigration office that
- 21:18have walked out with their residency and.
- 21:22It was it was easy. It sucks.
- 21:23You have to get there like 4 in the morning, wait in line
- 21:26because they don't make appointments.
- 21:27You just have to be there and be in the queue.
- 21:30But you know, like I I got there at like 4:30 AM and then I was
- 21:34out by about 3:00 PM. It was a long day.
- 21:36It was a long day, but I walked away with my card like in hand.
- 21:40The same day happens. Well, that's the way it happens.
- 21:43I mean, I remember I walked by that office.
- 21:45I didn't want it by citizenship. They said, hey you, you look
- 21:47like you want a green card. And I'm like, no, but that's how
- 21:50easy it is. It is, but I want to get into
- 21:54Mexico now, and someone's asking what part of Mexico you live
- 21:58from. You can answer that or not.
- 22:00I don't know if you want to share.
- 22:01I've I've been living in Morellia, Michoacan because
- 22:04personally I like colder weather.
- 22:07So I'm kind of up in the mountains a little bit in
- 22:10central Mexico and there. Yeah, yeah, that's the, that's
- 22:14the Colorado in me is like I I think it's technically the same
- 22:17mountain range and everything just a bit further South.
- 22:23But yeah, so I've been, I've been in Morelia and I really
- 22:26like it. There's a there's a good,
- 22:27there's a small freedom community there.
- 22:30Like it's it's, you know, they have little monthly meetups.
- 22:34I think it's fallen to like maybe every other month or
- 22:37somebody just randomly has people over.
- 22:40But yeah, like, it's really easy to tap into any of the freedom
- 22:45networks that are that are there.
- 22:48There. If you go on Telegram and just
- 22:50search Freedom Cell, a bunch of groups will pop up, and a lot of
- 22:55them are scattered all over Mexico.
- 22:57So it's really easy to find people like, even if they're not
- 23:01like exactly of your ideology. Again, just that unifying
- 23:06principle of like we're all individuals that are looking for
- 23:09for your life and now we're all expats in Mexico.
- 23:13Yeah. So, like I I've met a bunch of
- 23:15people through through that, and a lot of them first came to
- 23:18Anarchopulco and then decided to stay and just moved throughout
- 23:23Mexico. And now they're coming to Mary
- 23:25Posa or speaking at Mary Posa and yeah, well, so this is, I
- 23:30want to get into Mexico now because I I have some very, very
- 23:33deep rooted concerns. But I will say on a just a
- 23:37positive note before I go dark and get into the heavy metal
- 23:41portion of tonight. So you know I've I've been
- 23:44monitoring the the international scene at to no end so much.
- 23:48So I'm starting to annoy myself because I'm like where am I,
- 23:52what is going on and what am I going to do about it?
- 23:55But if there's one thing I've noticed is that there seems to
- 23:59be an influx not into Mexico but a flood and a flooded influx of
- 24:03of migrants into the United States.
- 24:07And we broke it down in the demographics of who where and
- 24:10how where they all come from and a good portion of them are
- 24:13coming from Latin America as as expected cliche, but an
- 24:17overwhelming amount are coming from what they called other the
- 24:21country of other. So my one of my first questions
- 24:24Lexi is do you see the influx of of in the passer buyers of of
- 24:29migrants from all over the world coming through your
- 24:32neighborhoods and hallways in Mexico and flooding into the US?
- 24:36And if so who is providing the the transportation and the
- 24:40effort to doing that? Cuz a lot of people might be
- 24:42seeing this thinking it's the Mexico government, but it's not
- 24:46that black and white, is it? I personally never see or
- 24:53immigrants coming from other Latin American countries through
- 24:56Mexico. From what I hear, they are
- 24:59mostly walking or taking buses and.
- 25:03The Mexican immigration does stop and deport a lot of people
- 25:08back to Colombia. So but also Mexico is such a
- 25:13large diverse country and you have some government officials
- 25:17that are in cahoots with this cartel and then other government
- 25:20officials that are working with a different cartel and they are
- 25:25not working with each other. So it is not a black and white
- 25:30situation at all if you try to break down.
- 25:33Mexican politics and what is going on?
- 25:35It is absolute chaos. What makes it chaotic?
- 25:38Because I've, you know, Mexico City is the most millionaires
- 25:41per capita, one of them, and it's one of the most polluted
- 25:45cities in the world. Yet you have the Pope as of
- 25:47yesterday, waving his popey finger at the US saying we need
- 25:52to fall under climate and I'm thinking as you not just took a
- 25:55long breath in Mexico City. I I lived in Mexico City for 10
- 25:59months and I had to move to Mirellia because I got sick.
- 26:04The pollution was so bad that it gave me just a permanent like
- 26:07bronchitis type of type of sickness.
- 26:10So and then like a couple months after I was out of there that
- 26:14went away. So I know for it was definitely
- 26:17the pollution. I I couldn't stay there long
- 26:20term. See.
- 26:22I mean where's the where where's his finger wagging and and
- 26:26saying no mas, no mas okay. So you said complications.
- 26:30Now that's interesting having covered Canada because of the
- 26:33the crises going on up there you know as Americans.
- 26:37And it's really sad and I'm sure you'll agree, we really are not
- 26:40taught anything about Canada outside of they have, you know
- 26:43Maple syrup and really great ginger ale and shitty bands.
- 26:49The same applies to Mexico in the way you know their politics.
- 26:54You know, we know about Santa Ana and the historical, you
- 26:57know, just talking points of it, but we don't know how it's run
- 27:00today, you know, once you get past the the cartel faction of
- 27:04it. But so just how complicated in a
- 27:07very non complicated way can you articulate Mexico and what
- 27:11they're all about there politically?
- 27:13The simplest way I can put it is that the Mexican government's
- 27:16very inefficient. They do sometimes pass laws that
- 27:21are. Socialist leaning or even like
- 27:26socially conservative where they're like doing things like
- 27:28banning vapes or you know like you know like just non
- 27:34libertarian laws are being passed in Mexico.
- 27:37But like I can go to the Mercado in Mexico and I'm still able to
- 27:41buy my nicotine vapes. There's even weed vapes there
- 27:44and marijuana and yeah, so it's so it's like I I go to the
- 27:48Mercado and like them, the same person that sells me fruits and.
- 27:52Like, has all of this stuff. You just gotta ask for it.
- 27:55And like, they don't think you're sketchy at all.
- 27:57Like they're they're just happy to do business with you.
- 28:00And like, you know, like police, local police will be walking
- 28:04around the markets and nobody cares.
- 28:07So the federal laws that they're passing are not being enforced
- 28:11on the streets. Now of course, like with
- 28:14corruption, if you're like carrying marijuana on you and
- 28:18like some asshole cop comes up to you and like.
- 28:21The worst they're gonna do is steal your weed.
- 28:24You're not going to jail. You're not, you know, like just
- 28:27don't carry a bunch of cash or illicit substances.
- 28:30And like you, like nobody's nobody's going to.
- 28:37Like, no. So they're gonna steal your
- 28:40weed. Are they gonna smoke it right in
- 28:41front of you, too? And just.
- 28:42They won't smoke it right in front of you.
- 28:44I haven't experienced that. And I've never had my weed
- 28:47stolen. I've never had my peso stolen by
- 28:49the police. I but, like, I have had friends
- 28:52that are just like, yeah, the cops shook me down.
- 28:54They stole my cash and they stole my weed, like, but like,
- 28:59they didn't get a ticket. They didn't go to jail like, you
- 29:02know, like it was. They don't.
- 29:05Yeah. Like the police, they're in,
- 29:06from what I've experienced, like, they don't want to do the
- 29:08paperwork so there is a bit of abuse of power and corruption,
- 29:12but like not to a level that, like they're gonna get in
- 29:15trouble for it. So yeah, like it's it's the
- 29:18wild, Wild West there. It really, it really is.
- 29:23So like, yeah, like if you if you want more freedom and are
- 29:26willing to have like a little less security.
- 29:30And then, like, that is the reality.
- 29:32But at the same time, like if you go to Chicago or Detroit,
- 29:35like, it's more dangerous there than anywhere.
- 29:39I was living in Mexico. That is true.
- 29:42Sort of, Yeah. It's so true.
- 29:44And you know, just hearing that, my take away is I think we need
- 29:47more weed smoking cops, I think that is the answer.
- 29:50You know, think about that. Cops walking around, you know,
- 29:53big old belly and a bag of Donuts in a big old joint next
- 29:57to him. You know, that's what we that
- 29:59may be the remedy here. Here's some some people chiming
- 30:02in. Here we have Angelina Wolf who
- 30:04seems to follow you everywhere you go.
- 30:07Like she she started in Colorado, now she's in Mexico
- 30:09and she'll probably go to Puerto Rico next.
- 30:11We'll see if history. No, she's.
- 30:13Gonna go to Mary Posa next. Mary Posa she will, she will go.
- 30:17We'll hook you up. She has huge influx of
- 30:19Argentines, Argentines there, indeed.
- 30:23Then she says Yep, Tiendas are drug dealers too.
- 30:26Anything you want, Okay, OK? And then cartel, she says.
- 30:29Will kill outsiders for selling, yes.
- 30:33Do not grow too many avocados. Do not sell any drugs.
- 30:39I I think that like, if you don't do those two things,
- 30:42you're gonna be fine in Mexico. Don't don't go there as an expat
- 30:45and try to be a drug dealer. Don't grow too many avocados.
- 30:48I don't know what it's up with the avocado cartels, but they
- 30:51are a thing. Don't own a bunch of land with a
- 30:53bunch of avocados, avocado Nazis.
- 30:57But yeah, like, if you're not competing with the cartels, and
- 31:00it is very easy to live in Mexico and not be in competition
- 31:04with the cartels, then I've been perfectly safe there for 3 1/2
- 31:08years. Okay.
- 31:10Well, there goes my business plan going to Mexico.
- 31:13All right. Well, okay.
- 31:16So we talked about an influx of Argentinians and that's
- 31:19interesting. And it's interesting in
- 31:21Argentina too. Also have a contact in Ecuador,
- 31:23but regarding Argentina, and I wanna ask you, they're actually
- 31:27now experiencing A revival of their sovereignty, freedom, you
- 31:32know, inner freedom, their inner child that lets freedom.
- 31:35They have a new presidential candidate.
- 31:36That is all the talk. But is that true?
- 31:40So there's an influx of Argentinians as one of your
- 31:42neighbors in, but I guess there. Yeah.
- 31:44There is, over there is. OK, what about Chinese?
- 31:50Let's talk about China, the big red yellowish elephant in there.
- 31:55Definitely, definitely not as much like Asians or definitely a
- 32:00very, very small minority from what I've seen in Mexico.
- 32:06Every once in a while you'll you'll find an entire apartment
- 32:09building that is full of Asians. I'm I'm not sure exactly which
- 32:14country they might be from. But given that, like it'll be
- 32:18down the street from one of those like Chinese stores that
- 32:21has all the cheap electronics and then like a China buffet
- 32:24like I can, I can put two and two together and assume.
- 32:27But I've never seen more than like maybe a small apartment
- 32:31building full of them in one place in Mexico.
- 32:34OK, OK, so there's hotels full of Asians.
- 32:38Are you sure you weren't in a geisha house?
- 32:40That's my next one that was. No, definitely, definitely an
- 32:44apartment building. The apartment buildings in
- 32:46Mexico do look different than the hotels, I was gonna say.
- 32:51I mean, if you start seeing someone eating a Jimmy Chong
- 32:54with chopsticks, you might be in the wrong place.
- 32:57Well, the reason I ask is, you know, in the past ten years,
- 33:01Speaking of influx, you've seen military bases and especially at
- 33:05the ports, probably not where you are.
- 33:06You're in the mountain area, but the closer you get to Tijuana,
- 33:09Baja California, there is a Chinese natives influence in an
- 33:16acceleration of populist around there.
- 33:19And coming into. Baja California.
- 33:20That doesn't surprise me nearly as much.
- 33:22I've never been to Baja I don't know anything about.
- 33:25Like the northern half of Mexico.
- 33:27I've I've become quite familiar with, like central Mexico and
- 33:30South, especially towards the West Coast, like Cancun,
- 33:33Acapulco, Puerto Barda, Mazatlán, and then just like
- 33:37Mexico City and Morelia. But.
- 33:40I haven't really made it to any of the other places, so my
- 33:43perspective of Mexico is very limited to the southwest
- 33:49regions. So here's my big I guess where
- 33:53I'm going with it and to further express is we see an uptick in
- 33:58violence. I cover these swords all the
- 34:00time. All the people going to is it
- 34:02Tumar or Tulan? In all the terrorist areas, the
- 34:05cartels seem to be stealing, taking over and going after the
- 34:09wealth and the Canadians, you know everything of that matter.
- 34:12What I see happening is in the downturn of the United States
- 34:16and the West and the people who have that racial makeup, if you
- 34:21will, they seem to get targeted throughout time and throughout
- 34:24the historical lessons. Whether it was the Jews escaping
- 34:27Germany, which is very much very similar to what we see here,
- 34:32they tend to get targeted in the hence why the Jews had to change
- 34:35their last names to Polish names or German names.
- 34:38Do we see that happening again? Because there's no question
- 34:42about it. Let's see that violence in the
- 34:44uptake is is occurring, but so is the resentment for American
- 34:49policies, what the CIA has done to the Central Americas and
- 34:53other economies around the world.
- 34:55Do we see the hatred towards I guess Whitey on the rise?
- 35:00That is not something I've ever experienced in the parts of
- 35:03Mexico that I've been in. I can't speak for what's going
- 35:06on in the North. I will say that, like, there's a
- 35:09general disdain for Americans specifically, but I I definitely
- 35:14haven't experienced it as far as like, hatred towards white
- 35:18people. In fact, like, Mexico is one of
- 35:20the most racist places I've ever been in that they they don't
- 35:24like darker people there. And it's really embarrassing
- 35:27for, for, you know, like. That's true.
- 35:30That is the state of the culture there, though I definitely have
- 35:33never run into any problems there.
- 35:36And yeah, that is not something I've experienced.
- 35:39That is something I've experienced in the US You get
- 35:41all these social justice warriors that are screeching
- 35:45about white privilege, and then it almost.
- 35:48Then it almost turns into a reverse.
- 35:50But that is, yeah, I know like the furthest thing from anything
- 35:54I've experienced in Mexico, right.
- 35:56Well, what you said is so true is a lot of people don't know
- 35:59what Mexico does is they have no middle.
- 36:03They have no middle class, right.
- 36:05So you have the the extremely rich or extremely poor.
- 36:08So the extremely poor just so happen to be, as you said, the
- 36:10darker Mexicans, bald legged, some of them very tiny.
- 36:14Those are like the original like Aztecs, Mexicans, the people
- 36:17running the country. I've always found or tall white
- 36:20green eyes, the standards who took over have always seemed to
- 36:24just rain power while pushing the poverty into the corporate
- 36:28welfare. Just, you know, greeters over
- 36:30here in the US so they don't have a true revolution in Mexico
- 36:33and have to deal with these people.
- 36:35And you know, I mean I've been to Ensenada enough times where
- 36:38you know, which I don't like going to.
- 36:40You couldn't hold your breath that long.
- 36:42But that's what I've noticed is you absolutely hit on the head
- 36:47is the the Spaniard, you know, stranglehold of the government
- 36:51in Mexico. Yeah, that is, that is
- 36:54definitely the case like. You know like and it's very
- 36:58localized to the specific neighborhood.
- 37:00Like you walk in one neighborhood and it's all.
- 37:03They'll even refer to themselves as white seconds and then they
- 37:07will. Yeah like.
- 37:08And then the Marinos will even refer themselves as Marinos.
- 37:10And it is a very divided society for sure.
- 37:16There is there is not a lot of like ending up at the same
- 37:20social events or any of that. It is.
- 37:22It is a very. Segregated culture on that
- 37:25front, interesting. Lexi, I want to take this quick
- 37:28break and I want to come back and get into the festival and
- 37:31and kind of a concludes very strong here and how people can
- 37:34get their tickets and if we can watch online.
- 37:37So we'll get into those little details here.
- 37:38Lexi, stand by, you are watching it.
- 37:41Members only for now. Members only.
- 37:44Late night thoughts as we're talking about everything.
- 37:46Nothing at all. But specifically we're talking
- 37:49about Mexico, Puerto Rico, you know kill Whitey, Aztecs, just
- 37:55all kinds of subjects, you know, that are just we're we're
- 37:58demystifying the folklore that has been pushed upon us, aren't
- 38:02we? It's a very peaceful place.
- 38:03Mexican, the Mexican culture. Lovely, lovely, lovely people.
- 38:07In fact, actually getting hungry now.
- 38:08I don't know why. I'm just kind of starving here
- 38:10tonight. So anyways, we'll be right back
- 38:12here for late night thoughts after this quick message and
- 38:16we'll round it all up after the break.
- 38:17Stand by. Well, I don't know why I came in
- 38:27tonight. I've got a feeling that
- 38:29something in right. I'm so scared and gets up one of
- 38:33my chair. I'm going downstairs and rounds.
- 38:39The living man drew me to the right and stuck in the middle
- 38:43with you. Stuck in the middle with you and
- 38:47what I should do? Yeah, it's so hard to keep the
- 38:56snap on my face. Please
- 39:26Okay, we are back. We are back.
- 39:29We are back. I just got a lot of time.
- 39:32We are back. Everybody welcome back to late
- 39:33night thoughts. I'm still your late night host
- 39:37with the most Dean Ryan. It is really great to be partake
- 39:41in the show and learning a a a very international perspective.
- 39:46That stands from Colorado with our guest here tonight, Lexi
- 39:48Marie Tonight Show. In case you didn't know well,
- 39:51it's brought to you by the Real Deal media store.
- 39:54Oh yes it is. Oh yes it is.
- 39:56We're right. Now we are having the fall
- 39:58collection. The fall collection.
- 40:00Why fall for anything else? When you go to the Real Deal
- 40:02media store by going to Real Deal Media on TV forward slash
- 40:06store, make sure you get that actual Trump mug right there
- 40:12next time you wake up in the morning and want that bourbon
- 40:14immediately. But I want the world to know
- 40:17that. Well, you like bourbon in the
- 40:20morning, but make sure you have an actual trump and make sure to
- 40:22just totally shock people and why that is.
- 40:24And that's what I do every, every single day.
- 40:27I just walk around with that in the bathrobe, which we do have
- 40:29the new bathrobes, as you saw, you know, because life is too
- 40:33cool to wear clothes when you can wear the real new media
- 40:36bathrobe. I'd be wearing mine right now,
- 40:37but it's at the cleaners. Can you believe that?
- 40:39We know how that goes. So just go to realdealmedia.tv
- 40:42Four dot store to do that, and your life will change.
- 40:46Instantly, instantly, instantly, instantly.
- 40:50And don't grow avocados. I just learned that one too.
- 40:53We're going to welcome back Lexi Marie.
- 40:55Lexi here. Welcome back to late night tops
- 40:57there. And look at that, Just a little
- 41:00bourbon or I guess tequila in the morning with your actual
- 41:03trump mug. The world know the lights of
- 41:08jungle and welcome to it. All right, we are.
- 41:10We were concluding back here, getting back here.
- 41:14We have a lot of people who are asking inquiries.
- 41:16If you're open to a few questions before we slam dunk
- 41:19it, Lexi, we have. A phone at me.
- 41:22Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay, we have your neighbor
- 41:26Angelina right there. How far is Baja from where you
- 41:29are? Was that a few hours or?
- 41:31That is several hours. That's probably a 20 hour drive
- 41:35from where I live and I think even if I'm in creative art,
- 41:38it's like. It's at least like a 10 or 15
- 41:42hour drive and then like it's an expensive ferry or or it's like
- 41:46a 25 hour drive to like drive all the way up and around and
- 41:49down into the peninsula. But yeah, I've.
- 41:52I've never been up there. Well, one of our members, she's
- 41:55right there. And she plays music too.
- 41:57You might want a nice acoustic guitarist there as well.
- 42:01Can make that, hey. We're actually inviting people
- 42:04to bring their instruments because one of the nights we
- 42:06wanna do like an acoustic campfire jam session.
- 42:09So please bring your instruments and okay Angelina you have the
- 42:14open invite there to go to the festival which we're gonna show
- 42:18you how to do that in a second. Yeah, we'll film it too.
- 42:22We'll film it too. But Angelina ask as you see it
- 42:24here. As you know Dean, anti anti
- 42:27American sentiments growing wasn't always like this.
- 42:29Yesterday they resent our wealth, but we also have
- 42:32stronger work ethics as Americans might take.
- 42:36And they also resent to just how just our perfect hair Lexi, we
- 42:41have perfect hair compared to Mexicans.
- 42:43Don't you think so? See, I don't.
- 42:47I don't see the resentment. But yes, we do have perfect hair
- 42:51all the time. I have just.
- 42:53I don't even want to get into it.
- 42:54It's just nightmares. Here's.
- 42:56Some I mean, you knew this, but here's someone else asking.
- 43:00We have Facebook user in birth name by mind you.
- 43:05Do you know what happens if you are caught dealing drugs in
- 43:07Mexico? Would you be able to contact the
- 43:09American government to help you with your case?
- 43:12Great question. Like.
- 43:15You better hope the cops catch you and not the cartel, because
- 43:19if the cartel catches you like you're just going to disappear
- 43:24and. Like, as far as government
- 43:27enforcement goes, like, it's so. Lately.
- 43:32Yeah. Like I.
- 43:33I don't know any foreigners that have gotten caught up with the
- 43:36Mexican government and like when they did they were like worst
- 43:39case would be like in jail for a few days and then be deported to
- 43:42their home country. I, I but like I also like I
- 43:47have. I have no idea like I'm I'm not
- 43:49a good source to answer this question.
- 43:52We have Angelina Movises Mariposa Fest, November.
- 43:54Yeah, Time for the monarchs. Yes, yes, yes, the monarch.
- 43:58Butterflies are migrating at that time of year.
- 44:01That is the beginning in the monarch season.
- 44:03But Mary, yeah, Mary Posta, the name like obviously butterflies
- 44:08are just flying free and it's good symbolism.
- 44:12But the venue we have the event on Rancho Madre Tierra, which is
- 44:17translates to Mother Earth Ranch.
- 44:19They actually have a butterfly sanctuary, like butterfly Garden
- 44:24at the venue. So yeah, like it's really, it's
- 44:28such a beautiful, serene place. Beautiful and beautiful, Yeah.
- 44:35Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
- 44:36And there's gonna be a lot of butterflies and butterfly kisses
- 44:40and wishes. The lodging.
- 44:42You can camp out there. We do have glamping.
- 44:45This year too. And like I said, the venue's
- 44:47only 15 minutes from the Puerto Varda International Airport.
- 44:52You can easily get there by Uber or taxi.
- 44:54And there are so many, like hotels and Airbnbs nearby.
- 44:58Like, if camping isn't specifically your thing.
- 45:02But yeah, I know. Like lots of lots of opportunity
- 45:07for all different types of interests there.
- 45:10And this is what I love about independent festivals,
- 45:13independent mind and liberty minded festivals is, you know,
- 45:17it starts with that, that instant, you know, philosophical
- 45:20connection, but it then turns into, you know, just a really
- 45:24fun, just kind of an event and where you can just feel relaxed
- 45:28again. You want to go to Mariposa
- 45:31Freedom Fest? Dot com.
- 45:33That's right. That's right.
- 45:35You can also find us on. Facebook If you just search Mary
- 45:39Posa Freedom Festival, it will come up on Facebook.
- 45:42And if you're on Telegram, you can find our group there.
- 45:45It's at Mary Posa Freedomfest. So yeah, find us on Telegram,
- 45:51Facebook, Go straight to the website.
- 45:53You can see it right there. Tickets are on sale.
- 45:57It's only 40 USB for the three day pass for general admission
- 46:02because I wanted to price it in a way that like it was
- 46:06accessible to local Mexicans as well.
- 46:09It is overwhelmingly like expats and international people that
- 46:12show up, but we do have a few locals that come and talk about
- 46:15like herbalism and traditional medicine and they're going to.
- 46:19Have a tennis skull ceremony there.
- 46:21So like we do, we do integrate the local culture and community
- 46:26as much as we can. Absolutely.
- 46:29And I would also suggest if you're going to go to this
- 46:31festival, do not bring any guacamole unless you value your
- 46:34life very dangerous. Like I said, just don't.
- 46:38Don't. Own land with the avocado trees
- 46:40growing on it. I think it's a water rights
- 46:43issue. I think it boils down to water
- 46:45rights and. You reached out to me, Lexi, and
- 46:49I'm glad you did because I'm always open to promoting just
- 46:53lovely events and with people that are producing.
- 46:57You you always done good work and so we want to champion that.
- 47:03But any kind of final, final thoughts here on late night
- 47:06thoughts you want to share with this late night crowd who's
- 47:09watching from all over the world?
- 47:11Thank you so much for having me. And I hope to see some of you
- 47:15all in November at Mary Post Freedom Festival.
