Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: We are out of the gates on sport and state.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Good morning to you. Presented by Hard Rock Bet. This
- 0:05Speaker 1: is Hutton and Withrow. He's Chad Withrow. I'm Jonathan Hutton.
- 0:08Speaker 1: And happy football weekend. Let's get out of the gates
- 0:12Speaker 1: and start by discussing all things Tennessee and Texas. We're
- 0:16Speaker 1: discussing Tom Cruise today. Lance Taylor from the next round
- 0:19Speaker 1: will join us. We've got our Profit Like It Hot.
- 0:22Speaker 1: The best props of the college and NFL weekend all
- 0:26Speaker 1: coming up today. Plus Chad Withrow's top 10 games of
- 0:29Speaker 1: the college football weekend. Here's a hint. Dominant SEC weekend. Jack,
- 0:34Speaker 1: good morning to you.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Good morning, Hutton. In the words of Flo and the Machine,
- 0:38Speaker 2: as I like to call the band, the dark days
- 0:40Speaker 2: are over. It's not Florence the Machine to me. It's
- 0:43Speaker 2: Flo and the Machine. Flo.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Flo.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Fall weather is here. It's cooler outside. We've got a
- 0:48Speaker 2: slate of games. It's unbelievable this weekend. Not just in
- 0:51Speaker 2: the SEC, but all over the place. We'll get to
- 0:53Speaker 2: those top ten games a little bit later. But, man, oh, man,
- 0:56Speaker 2: what a time to be alive. What a time to
- 0:58Speaker 2: be talking football here on this show with you, Hutton.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Great to be here.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I had mentioned earlier in the week I haven't heard
- 1:03Speaker 1: the battle for the UTs, but give it time.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Just give it time.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I should have slowed my roll and just seen things
- 1:12Speaker 1: play itself out because, well, leave it to the UTs
- 1:16Speaker 1: to make it happen.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Texas and Tennessee finally here. Number one versus number 14.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Can't wait for kickoff, man.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Cannot wait. And our guy Mark J. Burns at Sporting
- 1:27Speaker 2: State wrote a column where he weighs in as an outsider.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I mean, he says, you know, I'm a Michigan grad.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I think he went to Belmont Law School at one point.
- 1:35Speaker 2: And that's the first time I even heard about Tennessee
- 1:37Speaker 2: being UT. Always thinking of UT as Texas, which I
- 1:41Speaker 2: said earlier in the week, most of America, if you
- 1:44Speaker 2: say UT, Texas is a bigger state, right? Texas has
- 1:48Speaker 2: more people. They've got more alums. I understand how you
- 1:52Speaker 2: associate UT with Texas. But let me tell you as
- 1:56Speaker 2: a Tennessee grad why Mark J. Burns is incorrect here
- 2:00Speaker 2: on this. And I wouldn't expect anything less from a
- 2:03Speaker 2: Michigan man also who I'm sure defended Jim Harbaugh throughout
- 2:06Speaker 2: every turn. Probably Sharon Moore too. Because as we know,
- 2:09Speaker 2: Michigan men excel in all facets. You can't question anything
- 2:13Speaker 2: about a Michigan man. I'm going to question Mark J.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Burns on this. Mark in his column cites that There
- 2:19Speaker 2: was a trademark filed in like 1983, I think, over UT,
- 2:25Speaker 2: the logo being something for Texas as a reason that
- 2:29Speaker 2: Texas is the real UT. The University of Tennessee was
- 2:32Speaker 2: founded in 1794. The University of Texas was founded in 1883. Now,
- 2:40Speaker 2: you could say, well, Tennessee wasn't Tennessee in the beginning.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It was Blount College. It had two different names before
- 2:45Speaker 2: becoming a university. Okay, that's fine. You know, Texas had
- 2:48Speaker 2: a name before it was Texas. It was called Mexico.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And it was saved by the likes of Davy Crockett,
- 2:54Speaker 2: which I'm drinking his coffee right now. Thank you, Crockett Coffee.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And also Sam Houston, who's another Tennessean who came to
- 3:01Speaker 2: the rescue of Texas in the war against Mexico. So, look,
- 3:07Speaker 2: I am a history buff. I am a Tennessee guy,
- 3:10Speaker 2: so I'm slanted when it comes to this, but the
- 3:13Speaker 2: real UT is the University of Tennessee. Also, it doesn't
- 3:18Speaker 2: mean that much to me as a Tennessee person. So
- 3:21Speaker 2: if Texas wants it that bad, you can call yourself UT.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Because when I described UT, Hutton, I described, I say
- 3:26Speaker 2: Tennessee typically is what I say.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I was saying, I don't really say UT much anymore either.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I think it's more of like the educational.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Wing of things.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Like my dad worked in the, financial aid for the
- 3:42Speaker 1: state of Tennessee. And so directionally, you would always refer
- 3:45Speaker 1: to UT Knoxville, UT Chattanooga, UT Martin. You would determine
- 3:51Speaker 1: where you're going based on the Tennessee colleges within the
- 3:55Speaker 1: Board of Regents. That's really the only time we would
- 3:58Speaker 1: refer to UT. But I think there's something to this.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe it's too easy. Whenever these teams
- 4:08Speaker 1: play now in the regular season, that should be the
- 4:11Speaker 1: bragging rights. You get to hold claim to UT until
- 4:13Speaker 1: you play again. I think that would be cool. The
- 4:17Speaker 1: real UT is the team that just won most recently
- 4:19Speaker 1: against head-to-head. I think that would be something better than
- 4:24Speaker 1: a trophy.
- 4:25Speaker 2: It's a great idea. And maybe you do like an
- 4:28Speaker 2: all sports thing or you just keep it to football.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Because you're right. I mean, we have a Cy Hawk trophy.
- 4:32Speaker 2: We have Paul Bunyan's axe. We have all these different
- 4:35Speaker 2: things that we've been giving away for years. Tennessee, Kentucky
- 4:38Speaker 2: used to have the beer barrel that would pass back
- 4:40Speaker 2: and forth between the schools. Well, not really back and forth.
- 4:43Speaker 2: It would basically stay in Knoxville permanently. But you get
- 4:45Speaker 2: what I'm saying on who wins a trophy in the
- 4:48Speaker 2: football game. Hutton, I'm with you. Let's change this to
- 4:51Speaker 2: the moniker for UT. It's like everybody on the broadcast
- 4:54Speaker 2: gets to call it UT, whoever wins the game. Yes.
- 4:57Speaker 1: It would be no different than a validation on X
- 5:02Speaker 1: with the blue checkmark. You get the UT. You get
- 5:05Speaker 1: the actual watermark. You own the trademark. By winning the
- 5:10Speaker 1: football game. Now, this could turn into something where you
- 5:14Speaker 1: have a team that just dominates the series as regular
- 5:17Speaker 1: season in perpetuity. But I think it is what it is.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and Mark Burns says in his piece, he's got
- 5:28Speaker 2: a quote that says, Tennessee was Blount College, then East
- 5:30Speaker 2: Tennessee College, then East Tennessee University, and then changed their
- 5:33Speaker 2: name to University of Tennessee. Again, Tennessee started in 1794.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Texas University started in 1883, almost 100 years after Tennessee. Also,
- 5:44Speaker 2: I don't care. I recognize that Mark and others who
- 5:47Speaker 2: aren't from the state of Tennessee, probably if you took
- 5:51Speaker 2: everybody in America and you said, UT, what is that?
- 5:55Speaker 2: I think a majority would say the University of Texas
- 5:58Speaker 2: and not Tennessee. But that does not deter me from
- 6:01Speaker 2: saying that I believe if you're going to say who's
- 6:03Speaker 2: the real UT, who's first, it's It's Tennessee. But as
- 6:08Speaker 2: we said, Hutton, I say Tennessee, I say Texas. I
- 6:11Speaker 2: don't use UT as much anymore. So anyway, but it's
- 6:14Speaker 2: a great piece. You can go to sportandstate.com and read
- 6:17Speaker 2: Mark's argument for Texas being the real UT, even though
- 6:20Speaker 2: I believe that he is flatly wrong.
- 6:22Speaker 1: If we're just basing it off of football, there are
- 6:24Speaker 1: more songs about Texas, I think, than Tennessee. There are
- 6:28Speaker 1: more songs about Tennessee football than there are Texas football
- 6:33Speaker 1: right now, at least in country music.
- 6:36Speaker 2: We have entered an era, Hutton, of you can have
- 6:39Speaker 2: a song for anything. I know you played with this
- 6:41Speaker 2: with AI with a song, but my aunt sent me
- 6:45Speaker 2: a song and I'm like, I don't know if it's
- 6:49Speaker 2: a real person or not, but it's a Tennessee, Texas
- 6:52Speaker 2: song about this game. It's talking about the sun rising
- 6:56Speaker 2: over the Tennessee River. It's morning on Rocky Top. Arch
- 7:00Speaker 2: Manning's coming to town. Did somebody write and perform this,
- 7:03Speaker 2: or is this AI? I can't even tell.
- 7:04Speaker 1: It's got to be AI.
- 7:06Speaker 2: It's pretty perfect, though. It's pretty perfect when I heard it.
- 7:09Speaker 2: It's got a nice video to it of showing scenes
- 7:12Speaker 2: around Knoxville and scenes around Neyland Stadium. I'm thinking, this
- 7:15Speaker 2: is pretty sweet.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I was talking to somebody in the building last night.
- 7:19Speaker 1: They're a songwriter. They were walking back in. I was
- 7:23Speaker 1: checking my mail. They were walking back in from a
- 7:25Speaker 1: songwriting session. And I said, is that on your laptop?
- 7:30Speaker 1: They didn't take kindly to that. Let me put it
- 7:33Speaker 1: that way. I was joking. But everyone's paranoid about exactly
- 7:37Speaker 1: what you're talking about because you can't really tell anymore.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It's nuts.
- 7:41Speaker 1: We can write a song right now and have it
- 7:44Speaker 1: ready by next segment if we wanted to about the
- 7:48Speaker 1: series and the matchup. Well, when Ella Langley sings Choose
- 7:51Speaker 1: in Texas, I can tell that's a human that's singing it.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Her style. But there is a
- 7:58Speaker 2: certain twang of country singer mixed with the same type
- 8:03Speaker 2: of bass in their voice that could be consistent across
- 8:07Speaker 2: so many different singers that when I hear this song,
- 8:09Speaker 2: I'll send it to you during the break. And you
- 8:12Speaker 2: can't tell if it's human or AI generated or what's
- 8:15Speaker 2: happening with the song.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, and then the lyrics itself. You know, like actually
- 8:18Speaker 1: writing the song. That Red Solo Cup could absolutely just
- 8:21Speaker 1: be AI now.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah. And it's brilliant. I love the song. That's so easy.
- 8:29Speaker 2: It had to be human, right? Yeah. How about this?
- 8:31Speaker 2: Just speaking of series. How about Vanderbilt?
- 8:34Speaker 1: I don't know another SEC head-to-head series where Vanderbilt owns
- 8:39Speaker 1: the all-time series.
- 8:41Speaker 2: They do against Auburn. Head-to-head.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And they own it by one game. It's like 46-45-1
- 8:49Speaker 1: or something like that. I may be off on the numbers,
- 8:53Speaker 1: but it's by one game. I don't know if the
- 8:54Speaker 1: Commodores actually own another series head-to-head in the SEC. They
- 8:58Speaker 1: do against Auburn, and they won, what, the last three
- 9:01Speaker 1: of this head-to-head series.
- 9:02Speaker 2: That is crazy. Yeah, they are 23-22-1. There you go.
- 9:07Speaker 2: All-time against Auburn. Against the rest of the SEC. You
- 9:11Speaker 2: ready for this?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Alabama, they're 20-61-1. Which is better than I expected, quite frankly.
- 9:17Speaker 2: That's going way back with most of those wins. Arkansas, 3-7. Florida,
- 9:19Speaker 2: they're 11-44-2. Georgia, 20-61-2. Kentucky's close, 45-48-4.
- 9:21Speaker 3: LSU, 8-25.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Mississippi State, 7-15.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Missouri, 5-11-1.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Oklahoma, 0-2-1. Ole Miss, 40-54-2. South Carolina, they're 5-30. Wow.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Against South Carolina. Wow. Tennessee, 34-79-5.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I knew that was lopsided.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Texas, oh, they have a winning record against Texas. They're 8-5-1.
- 9:59Speaker 2: There you go. Okay. They've played Texas once, I think,
- 10:03Speaker 2: as an SEC member so far, and that was last
- 10:05Speaker 2: year at Texas. They had a big comeback late but
- 10:09Speaker 2: lost the game. So clearly they played like in the
- 10:11Speaker 2: Magoogan days, you know, back in the 20s and 30s
- 10:14Speaker 2: probably against Texas and feasted on the Longhorns back then.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And they're 0-3 against A & M. Okay.
- 10:21Speaker 1: This all brought to you by AI. Texas and Auburn.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Those are the two.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I would have never guessed those two that Vanderbilt had
- 10:29Speaker 1: the winning record over. But yet their favorite, they're the underdog,
- 10:33Speaker 1: I should say. They're getting nine and a half points
- 10:34Speaker 1: this week on the planes.
- 10:36Speaker 2: They are 149 and 464 and 18. A 250, 25%
- 10:37Speaker 2: winning percentage against the SEC. Yet they have a winning
- 10:39Speaker 2: record against Auburn. That's a crazy stat. That's a good one.
- 10:48Speaker 2: And we said it with Hard Rock Bet. I think
- 10:50Speaker 2: both of us hadn't liked Vandy with the points covering
- 10:54Speaker 2: the nine and a half. I do.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I mean, I just, you know, have they been playing
- 10:59Speaker 1: their best?
- 10:59Speaker 2: No.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Do I think the game's close?
- 11:01Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I think it's less than a possession, you know.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I think that the idea that one week begats to
- 11:09Speaker 2: go biblical here, begats the next week. Like, okay, you
- 11:12Speaker 2: had a big emotional win, so you're going to have
- 11:13Speaker 2: a letdown for Ole Miss going on the road, right?
- 11:16Speaker 2: You had a big loss like Auburn. They're going to
- 11:18Speaker 2: bounce back at home and handle Vandy. Vandy had a big, emotional,
- 11:23Speaker 2: crazy win on a bad play by NC State. They're
- 11:26Speaker 2: due a letdown. I don't know how consistent that is,
- 11:29Speaker 2: and I know Vegas looks into that with different teams.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Tennessee-Texas is interesting because both teams did the same exact
- 11:35Speaker 2: thing last week. They won a game easily against an
- 11:38Speaker 2: overmatched opponent in a non-spectacular fashion. They didn't really run
- 11:44Speaker 2: up the score or do anything nuts in the game.
- 11:46Speaker 2: They just ran the football and did what they were
- 11:48Speaker 2: supposed to and got out to get ready for this game.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So both teams come in riding the exact same high
- 11:53Speaker 2: or mid-level or low or whatever you want to describe
- 11:56Speaker 2: it as going into this game. I will say, Hutton,
- 11:58Speaker 2: that I had a dream last night. I often dream
- 12:01Speaker 2: about big games. that I'm going to attend, and I
- 12:03Speaker 2: never remember my dreams. But when I dream about a game,
- 12:06Speaker 2: I always remember my dream. In my dream last night,
- 12:11Speaker 2: Tennessee played Texas. For whatever reason, the game was at
- 12:13Speaker 2: night in my dream. I started the game at fullback
- 12:17Speaker 2: for Tennessee. So I can tell you exactly what the
- 12:21Speaker 2: butts of the Tennessee offensive line looks like when you're
- 12:24Speaker 2: standing behind the line with the ball being snapped. Tennessee
- 12:27Speaker 2: went down and scored on four plays running the football
- 12:30Speaker 2: with Deshaun Bishop. I did absolutely nothing. I don't even
- 12:33Speaker 2: think I touched anybody as the fullback on the play.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Then Tennessee scored on a trick play to make it 8-0.
- 12:39Speaker 2: But the final score, and I remember this, and let's
- 12:42Speaker 2: mark this down in case it comes true. The final
- 12:44Speaker 2: score of the game in my dream was Texas 64,
- 12:49Speaker 2: Tennessee 14. And this was after Tennessee taking an 8-0 lead.
- 12:54Speaker 2: In the game. So there you go. That's the Chad
- 12:56Speaker 2: Withrow dream logic of Texas and Tennessee of what's going
- 13:00Speaker 2: to happen.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And then you partied with Matthew McConaughey post-game.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Then we went straight out. Woody Harrelson joined up.
- 13:05Speaker 2: You know, Matthew McConaughey's brother. We all went out to
- 13:08Speaker 2: the old city. We hit back up. We hit Wagon
- 13:10Speaker 2: Wheel back up. It was a great night.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Hey, speaking of Wagon Wheel, tonight you've got the show
- 13:16Speaker 1: coming up at 8.15 Eastern time. You'll start. Kelly and
- 13:20Speaker 1: Ariel will be there. Maybe an appearance by Clay Travis
- 13:22Speaker 1: this evening. It's going to be a fun time.

- 13:39Speaker 2: We've got Tennessee baseball star Levi Clark joining us at
- 13:42Speaker 2: some point during the show. Maybe a former Vol football player, too,
- 13:45Speaker 2: will stop by also. Going to be a fun night.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Check us out on YouTube. If you're in Knoxville, please

- 15:08Speaker 1: So JT plugged in the real UT.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Into chat GPT for some lyrics, Chad, if you would
- 15:16Speaker 1: like me to read them to you.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Yes, please do.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So he's got two verses and a chorus for us. Well,
- 15:26Speaker 1: down in Knoxville where the Tennessee River rolls, there's a
- 15:29Speaker 1: big orange pride that everybody knows. They say UT down
- 15:33Speaker 1: in Austin, Texas too, but when you bleed orange, there's
- 15:36Speaker 1: only one that's true. We're the real UT, Tennessee born
- 15:39Speaker 1: and bred. Rocky Top ringing while the Vols turn heads.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Texas has the Longhorns, and that's all right with me.
- 15:46Speaker 1: But when somebody says UT, they're talking Tennessee. From Neyland
- 15:50Speaker 1: Stadium to the hills of East Tennessee, that Power T's
- 15:54Speaker 1: been flying since the days of old Rocky Top. So Austin,
- 15:57Speaker 1: you can keep your burnt orange pride. We'll keep our
- 16:00Speaker 1: checkerboards in Tennessee skies. We're the real UT, Tennessee born
- 16:03Speaker 1: and bred. Orange on our jerseys, checkerboards overhead. Texas can
- 16:07Speaker 1: say hook them, but everybody's going to see There's only
- 16:09Speaker 1: one real UT, and it's Tennessee.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know if that's ChatGPT or Lennon
- 16:14Speaker 2: and McCartney with how beautiful that writing was right there.
- 16:17Speaker 2: That was fantastic and so true also. Who knew ChatGPT
- 16:22Speaker 2: was so right on when it came to things like this?
- 16:24Speaker 1: We just need some skinny jeans, a mustache, and a mullet,
- 16:27Speaker 1: and we've got a number one hit, Chad.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Some cut-off jeans, maybe, also. Skinny cut-off jeans. A combo
- 16:34Speaker 2: you don't often see. I think we can make all
- 16:37Speaker 2: of that happen. Yes, let's do it. Let's hit the
- 16:39Speaker 2: road with this song. We should just do a tour
- 16:42Speaker 2: of ChatGPT songs. And the whole performance is we just
- 16:47Speaker 2: stand up on the stage. Instead of singing, we just
- 16:50Speaker 2: hit play on a computer. And we just let ChatGPT
- 16:53Speaker 2: play it out to the masses?
- 16:54Speaker 1: Think about how we would write and we would have Rhett. Oh,
- 17:00Speaker 1: we'd slave over those lyrics. The Lene Kukua Country Music
- 17:03Speaker 1: Game of the Week. And we would actually rewrite a
- 17:05Speaker 1: real song and make it a parody about Paul. And
- 17:09Speaker 1: play it at the end. We would crush it now.
- 17:12Speaker 1: We would have this done in no time.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Incredible. I mean, it's amazing how quick you can get
- 17:19Speaker 2: this job done now.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I was planning a day in advance trying to figure
- 17:24Speaker 1: out who was going to submit the real song and
- 17:25Speaker 1: try to get in our fantasy football league. We'll have
- 17:27Speaker 1: an update on that, by the way, coming up. Some
- 17:29Speaker 1: good news for the host.
- 17:30Speaker 2: And also, by descriptions of the high school games, we
- 17:33Speaker 2: could do all the fake stuff, too. Give me fake
- 17:35Speaker 2: games from Tennessee and give me fake players and Because
- 17:38Speaker 2: I would sit there and write those out by hand.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:41Speaker 2: All the different quarterbacks' names and coaches' names and everything
- 17:44Speaker 2: else to try to fool Paul. What a fun game.
- 17:47Speaker 1: We've got to bring that back in some way at
- 17:49Speaker 1: some point. Hey, bringing it back, we'll never be able
- 17:53Speaker 1: to bring back Tom Cruise, man. There's not going to
- 17:55Speaker 1: be another Tom Cruise, Chad. You sent me a lot
- 17:57Speaker 1: of videos of his recently, and they're all just awesome.
- 18:00Speaker 1: He's just a cool dude. I know he's weird.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I get that. But just the.
- 18:06Speaker 1: The weirdness of Tom Cruise is also part of the
- 18:09Speaker 1: whole mystique and his love for movies, his love for
- 18:14Speaker 1: the movie theater. We want to get back and have
- 18:16Speaker 1: popcorn and a drink and watch a movie in a theater.
- 18:20Speaker 1: He's the man that's going to make it happen for us,
- 18:22Speaker 1: the blockbusters.
- 18:24Speaker 2: It's pure. Tom Cruise, to me, his love of cinema,
- 18:28Speaker 2: his love of storytelling, his love of entertaining people at
- 18:31Speaker 2: a movie theater, it's just so pure and that you
- 18:34Speaker 2: can't fake it when he's just talking about it naturally.
- 18:37Speaker 2: And I get that Tom Cruise is an actor, right?
- 18:39Speaker 2: So he could fake it if he wanted to, but
- 18:41Speaker 2: he's not faking it. Like he's genuinely excited to make movies,
- 18:44Speaker 2: to talk about them, do all these things. Here's why
- 18:47Speaker 2: I don't think we're ever going to get another Tom Cruise.
- 18:49Speaker 2: In a social media age, we see and we know
- 18:53Speaker 2: too much about younger stars, right? We know more about
- 18:56Speaker 2: their love life. They post them doing stupid, you know,
- 18:59Speaker 2: dance videos or whatever it is. Like, Denzel Washington, I
- 19:03Speaker 2: remember I saw him with Michael B. Jordan talking about
- 19:05Speaker 2: a conversation he had with Denzel Washington. It's why Michael B.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Jordan doesn't do a lot on social media. He told
- 19:11Speaker 2: him to not even have social media, Denzel Washington did.
- 19:13Speaker 2: He said, why would I give them something for free
- 19:15Speaker 2: that I want them to go pay for at a
- 19:17Speaker 2: movie theater? I'm not ever going to do a performance
- 19:20Speaker 2: for someone on a TikTok video because that's free. There
- 19:25Speaker 2: needs to be a mystique around the movie star. There's
- 19:28Speaker 2: been a mystique around Tom Cruise ever since he jumped
- 19:30Speaker 2: on Oprah's couch talking about his love of Katie Holmes
- 19:34Speaker 2: and then did an interview on Today Show and called
- 19:36Speaker 2: Matt Lauer a glib when they were talking about prescription
- 19:39Speaker 2: meds and psychoanalysis or whatever they were talking about at
- 19:42Speaker 2: the time. Psychiatry, I think it was.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Scientology is another one.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well, the Scientology played into his thoughts on psychoanalysis.
- 19:50Speaker 2: or whatever it was they were talking about. I don't
- 19:51Speaker 2: even remember. Because why do I not remember? Because Tom
- 19:54Speaker 2: Cruise stopped talking about Scientology that day. I don't think
- 19:57Speaker 2: he's spoken publicly about it ever since. There's a lot
- 20:00Speaker 2: of rumors and writings that he left the church, but
- 20:03Speaker 2: he's contractually bound not to speak about leaving it. but
- 20:08Speaker 2: also that they have dirt on him. Whatever. I don't
- 20:11Speaker 2: know what the rumors are, what's true or what's not.
- 20:13Speaker 2: But here's what I know about Tom Cruise. The guy
- 20:16Speaker 2: has not done a long-form sit-down interview, I think, since
- 20:19Speaker 2: Oprah or since Matt Lauer. He's done talk shows where
- 20:23Speaker 2: he does five-minute bits here and there on different shows since.
- 20:28Speaker 2: But actually sitting down and having a long-form discussion, it's
- 20:31Speaker 2: been few and far between. So here's just a clip
- 20:34Speaker 2: that I think captures the essence of our guy, Cruise. Yep.
- 20:37Speaker 2: and how excited he is about everything that he does.
- 20:40Speaker 2: When he goes on with GQ and he's asked, why
- 20:43Speaker 2: don't you do this more often? Here he is.
- 20:46Speaker 4: You've said to me already a couple of times, you're like,
- 20:48Speaker 4: I don't talk about this before you talk about something.
- 20:50Speaker 4: And I was reflecting like you haven't really sat down
- 20:53Speaker 4: in a context like this one.
- 20:54Speaker 3: No.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 2: See, yeah. No. For a long time. Why not?
- 20:59Speaker 3: Been busy, one. Been very busy. And there's things that
- 21:05Speaker 3: I want other artists to know. They see it in
- 21:08Speaker 3: the same way that it's like I want them to know.
- 21:11Speaker 3: When people see a movie, you want it to look easy.
- 21:13Speaker 3: I don't sit here. And understanding the joy of that
- 21:17Speaker 3: it's okay if it hurts. That it's hard. That it
- 21:21Speaker 3: can be confusing and you don't know. If you look
- 21:24Speaker 3: at my career, it's not like happenstance that I ended
- 21:27Speaker 3: up in Prague at the time that I ended up
- 21:29Speaker 3: in Prague. Or China when I was there. Or... you know,
- 21:33Speaker 3: Dubai or wherever I, England, you know, going there in 1982,
- 21:37Speaker 3: you know, to make Legend with Ridley Scott. And I,
- 21:41Speaker 3: I would see those doors that open. I'm going, here's
- 21:44Speaker 3: an opportunity. When I look at that time, I sincerely
- 21:47Speaker 3: mean like, I'm grateful for the amount of time that
- 21:49Speaker 3: I've spent where people have shared their lives with me.
- 21:52Speaker 3: I can look at it for myself and go, okay,
- 21:55Speaker 3: you know, this is what acting is or story or
- 21:57Speaker 3: lens or what I see.
- 21:58Speaker 4: I have a question about that, but just to square
- 22:01Speaker 4: the circle. So you're saying basically you have not sat
- 22:03Speaker 4: down in context like this one because you don't want
- 22:05Speaker 4: to reveal the magic trick.
- 22:07Speaker 3: I haven't just had the time where I'm like and
- 22:09Speaker 3: I'm looking at it's like the journey is, you know,
- 22:12Speaker 3: and where where we're going and the amount of things
- 22:15Speaker 3: that I set in motion and decided I was going
- 22:18Speaker 3: to do and looking back on those things that that
- 22:22Speaker 3: I felt worked. Do you know what I mean? I
- 22:25Speaker 3: went for competence. I went for skill. for whatever level
- 22:29Speaker 3: that was, being able to then go, oh, this is
- 22:31Speaker 3: what I need to focus on because I'm also, I'm
- 22:33Speaker 3: a teacher and I'm a student. So I'm having to
- 22:36Speaker 3: educate people on cinema and movies and I'm being, hearing
- 22:42Speaker 3: what they think.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Chad, how did GQ land that?
- 22:49Speaker 2: Well, he's on the cover of GQ. He's promoting this
- 22:51Speaker 2: new movie, Digger. I know, but he's been on the
- 22:54Speaker 2: cover of a lot of stuff. Yeah. I think that,
- 22:57Speaker 2: so here's my theory on this. He wants to win
- 23:00Speaker 2: an Oscar. He's the biggest movie star to not win
- 23:03Speaker 2: an Oscar. This is the start of his Oscar push
- 23:06Speaker 2: for Digger. Now, I'm not sold on this movie, Digger.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I think the trailer looks pretty funny and looks like
- 23:11Speaker 2: it's going to be interesting. The early returns from critics
- 23:15Speaker 2: on this, very divided. It's either, boy, this is a
- 23:19Speaker 2: work of art, this is a satire masterpiece, or this
- 23:23Speaker 2: movie is so confusing I don't even know what to
- 23:25Speaker 2: make of it. What the message is or what they're
- 23:27Speaker 2: trying to say or what they're trying to do with it.
- 23:29Speaker 2: People are leaving. It's 100 or zero with people responding
- 23:33Speaker 2: to the movie. I think he wants to win an Oscar,
- 23:36Speaker 2: so I think he's going to do more interviews now
- 23:38Speaker 2: to promote this movie and to build up to that.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And he's not going to win that based on Top
- 23:42Speaker 1: Gun Maverick or Days of Thunder, right? I think he
- 23:46Speaker 1: knows that.
- 23:46Speaker 2: You're right.
- 23:49Speaker 1: How does GQ land that? Right place, right time. He's
- 23:51Speaker 1: talking about Dubai and China and all these different things.
- 23:54Speaker 1: And also he says, why have you done this? He goes,
- 23:55Speaker 1: I haven't had the time. Well, he hasn't made the time.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Dude's got as much time as you and I. and
- 24:01Speaker 1: he plans it out where that's not important. Now it is,
- 24:04Speaker 1: he's making the time now.
- 24:05Speaker 2: You're right.
- 24:06Speaker 1: That's why he's doing it. Um, it's crazy who has
- 24:08Speaker 1: won and who hasn't won one of those, you know,
- 24:12Speaker 1: by now he's got that. It'd be a no brainer
- 24:14Speaker 1: with time.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Like, uh, the acceptance speech will be amazing.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Well, didn't Martin Scorsese, I think just win for killers,
- 24:20Speaker 2: the flower moon, like three years ago, you know, after
- 24:22Speaker 2: his long career and all the movies.
- 24:24Speaker 1: He made of all, of all the, of all the
- 24:26Speaker 1: films that he's done.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. So Tom Cruise is, um, He's one of one.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I don't know that we're going to get a lot
- 24:34Speaker 2: more like him. He is very strange. I understand that
- 24:37Speaker 2: people don't like him personally or whatever, but I like
- 24:41Speaker 2: people who are genuinely passionate about what they do, and
- 24:44Speaker 2: it comes across with a joy that they have about it. Apparently,
- 24:48Speaker 2: he's made a six-hour movie that's just him explaining everything
- 24:53Speaker 2: he knows about movies. It's him explaining a camera, different
- 24:56Speaker 2: types of cameras, different types of lenses, and where to
- 24:58Speaker 2: face the camera, where not to face the camera, lighting,
- 25:01Speaker 2: like everything he's learned technically about cinematography and making movies.
- 25:06Speaker 2: He's made a long film on it. And if you're
- 25:08Speaker 2: his friend and you're young in the industry, you can
- 25:10Speaker 2: get that, but no one else can. And I'm amazed
- 25:13Speaker 2: that no one shared this, which is pretty cool, right?
- 25:15Speaker 2: So any young actor that gets it knows not to
- 25:18Speaker 2: share the secrets of the trade that Tom Cruise shared
- 25:21Speaker 2: with them. I'm fascinated by the guy. I will go
- 25:24Speaker 2: watch Digger in theaters. I don't know what I'm going
- 25:27Speaker 2: to think about it, honestly. Most of the time, you
- 25:29Speaker 2: see a promo for Days of Thunder 2, and I'm like,
- 25:32Speaker 2: hell yeah. I'm going to love this movie. Top Gun Maverick,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I saw one trailer. I was like, there's zero chance
- 25:38Speaker 2: this movie's not going to be absolutely incredible when you
- 25:41Speaker 2: see the trailer. A Mission Impossible movie, I'm like, yeah,
- 25:44Speaker 2: I'm going to go see that. It's going to be good.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Even if there's plot holes in the movie, the action
- 25:49Speaker 2: and everything else is going to be fantastic because it's
- 25:51Speaker 2: Tom Cruise. I'll watch anything the guy does. I love
- 25:55Speaker 2: his commitment to the bit at all times when he's
- 25:57Speaker 2: doing something, he's all in. I'd like to see him
- 26:00Speaker 2: do another comedy. I know Digger's kind of a comedy also,
- 26:04Speaker 2: but after watching him in Tropic Thunder, I'd love to
- 26:07Speaker 2: see Tom Cruise not be the lead and be a
- 26:09Speaker 2: comedic supporting role in another movie at some point, something
- 26:13Speaker 2: very surprising. I think that Tom Cruise is the type
- 26:15Speaker 2: who could win a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, maybe even
- 26:19Speaker 2: before Best Actor because he does something totally surprising sometimes.
- 26:22Speaker 2: in a role that no one's expecting him to do.
- 26:25Speaker 2: But I'm rooting for him. You know, I think he
- 26:28Speaker 2: feels like this could be his shot to win the
- 26:31Speaker 2: Oscar this year. I think that's why he's doing these
- 26:33Speaker 2: interviews with GQ and others. I know he sat down
- 26:35Speaker 2: with the Kelsey brothers for the New Heights podcast also,
- 26:37Speaker 2: which some of the outtakes from that is really, really funny.
- 26:41Speaker 2: But I love the dude, Hutton. We love him on
- 26:43Speaker 2: this show. We got people in the YouTube chat saying
- 26:46Speaker 2: they can't stand Tom Cruise. That's fine. You know, to
- 26:49Speaker 2: each their own. But I love the dude.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, the annoying parts of Tom Cruise were
- 26:56Speaker 1: the past perception I had of him. But the most
- 26:59Speaker 1: recent one, like it all started with, for me, is
- 27:03Speaker 1: whenever Top Gun Maverick came out and he refused to
- 27:06Speaker 1: release it during COVID.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Right?
- 27:09Speaker 1: Because we had Glenn Powell on. I can't remember the
- 27:11Speaker 1: actress's name.
- 27:12Speaker 2: You will, Chad. Monica Barbaro. There you go. They came on.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Who's blown up, by the way. She's done huge things.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Since that interview with us. I credit that interview on
- 27:20Speaker 2: Radio Row with us for blowing up. Both actors. Oh, yeah.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Glenn Powell, for sure.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because they were going around Radio Row at the
- 27:27Speaker 1: Super Bowl together. Not individual. And promoting the Top Gun Maverick.
- 27:33Speaker 1: And that was 2019-2020. That was January 2020. Then COVID hits.
- 27:39Speaker 1: And they postponed the release. Because that was going to be,
- 27:43Speaker 1: you know, they're promoting that at the Super Bowl because
- 27:45Speaker 1: of the summer blockbuster. Sandler would do this months in
- 27:50Speaker 1: advance too. They would roll through that. Then he just said,
- 27:54Speaker 1: this is made to be in a theater.
- 27:56Speaker 2: I'm going to hold it.
- 27:57Speaker 1: He's not going to let Apple release it or whoever
- 28:00Speaker 1: was the online streamer that released it right after it
- 28:03Speaker 1: went to theater. I was like, man, this is going
- 28:05Speaker 1: to be awesome because this is what.
- 28:06Speaker 2: We wanted to hear. We wanted to get back in
- 28:08Speaker 2: the movie theater.
- 28:10Speaker 1: That was the first time I went back. We went
- 28:12Speaker 1: and saw it. It was fantastic. That's when he wanted
- 28:16Speaker 1: me back.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Oh, for sure. This guy gets it. Catfish Jake says, God,
- 28:20Speaker 2: I hate Tom Cruise. One of the weirdest, most self-important
- 28:23Speaker 2: Scientologist weirdos ever. He goes on to say he has
- 28:27Speaker 2: some great action movies, but I just don't like that
- 28:29Speaker 2: sawed off little weirdo. JT chimes in and says, JT's
- 28:33Speaker 2: going to have to pop on here and explain this
- 28:34Speaker 2: to me. JT says, I don't hate him, but Cruise
- 28:38Speaker 2: is just a notch above John Hader for me. Napoleon Dynamite.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Can you explain with a comparison the comp between John
- 28:46Speaker 2: Hader and Tom Cruise, JT? What do you think about
- 28:49Speaker 2: the movie Napoleon Dynamite, Chad? You're like a movie expert.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I mean, I think it's overrated. I laugh at some
- 28:58Speaker 2: parts of it. I like Uncle Rico in the movie,
- 29:00Speaker 2: but I'm not a huge fan. I'm just going to
- 29:02Speaker 2: stop you there.
- 29:03Speaker 1: That's how I feel about everything that Tom Cruise does.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Okay. Like Top Gun? You don't like Top Gun?
- 29:09Speaker 4: No.
- 29:09Speaker 2: It's that mixed with.
- 29:10Speaker 1: His personality off of, not that you never see him
- 29:14Speaker 1: off camera, but he seems like a jerk.
- 29:17Speaker 2: He's a jerk. I don't get that.
- 29:19Speaker 1: No, I think he does come across that way. He
- 29:23Speaker 1: doesn't come across that way to me anymore.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I think you're taking the one interview with Matt Lauer
- 29:28Speaker 2: where he says he's glib and he gets all in
- 29:30Speaker 2: his face about it. And maybe if you've heard the
- 29:33Speaker 2: audio of him screaming at the crew on how the
- 29:36Speaker 2: movie business relies on us. to complete this movie, then
- 29:39Speaker 2: I think you would think he's a jerk. Everything else
- 29:41Speaker 2: he does, he sends like fruitcakes to 2,000 people every Christmas.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Everybody who's worked with him, Glenn Powell sat there and
- 29:47Speaker 2: talked to us. He's the most generous dude in the world.
- 29:50Speaker 2: He's so genuinely happy to be there and so nice
- 29:53Speaker 2: to everyone on set. He's known as one of the
- 29:56Speaker 2: nicest guys in Hollywood for people who've gone to movies
- 29:58Speaker 2: with him.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Why is he just now finally willing to talk to somebody?
- 30:03Speaker 2: You're too busy doing what? You can't give somebody 20 minutes?
- 30:07Speaker 1: I'm thinking that too. It's like he doesn't have the time.
- 30:12Speaker 1: But to Chad's point, the perception I have of him now,
- 30:16Speaker 1: JT is on the– that's kind of what I thought
- 30:19Speaker 1: of him up until the release of Top Gun Maverick.
- 30:24Speaker 1: was just kind of a jerk because that's literally the
- 30:27Speaker 1: perception he allowed to happen because he wouldn't sit down
- 30:29Speaker 1: and do these long-form interviews.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I think it's just good PR. I mean, I think
- 30:32Speaker 2: he was in an absolute shitstorm over that whole thing
- 30:36Speaker 2: with Oprah followed by Matt Lauer and everybody hating him
- 30:39Speaker 2: at that point. And his publicist is a good one
- 30:42Speaker 2: and said, dude, stop doing interviews. Just go make your movies.
- 30:45Speaker 2: People like you on screen. They like you doing movies.
- 30:47Speaker 2: They don't like you in interviews, so stop. And he
- 30:49Speaker 2: stopped for a while.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I don't think people are going to get on to.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Denzel Washington and say, hey, Denzel, you're a jerk for
- 30:56Speaker 2: not being on social media. Well, you're too good for us.
- 30:59Speaker 2: You don't have time. You don't have time to post
- 31:01Speaker 2: about what you're doing. You don't have time to post
- 31:03Speaker 2: about photos. Like, I don't buy that. And we got
- 31:06Speaker 2: to separate the actors in their roles from their personal life. Like,
- 31:12Speaker 2: because I love Tom Cruise on screen doesn't mean I
- 31:14Speaker 2: support Scientology. Because I think Seth Rogen is funny doesn't
- 31:18Speaker 2: mean I support Seth Rogen's politics.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Right, but we're saying we like the guy. And they're
- 31:25Speaker 1: saying that they find him annoying and just, like, you know,
- 31:30Speaker 1: sawed off, which is funny by Catfish Jake.
- 31:32Speaker 2: I just have a hard time believing. Like, Catfish Jake,
- 31:35Speaker 2: I like his action movies. You're going to find something
- 31:39Speaker 2: in Tom Cruise's catalog you like. I just refuse to believe.
- 31:43Speaker 2: This is a segment for another day, Hutton, but I
- 31:45Speaker 2: had this constant debate with a buddy of mine who
- 31:47Speaker 2: says Will Ferrell is not funny. And I'm like, Will
- 31:50Speaker 2: Ferrell is the biggest comedic star, movie star, comedy movie
- 31:54Speaker 2: star of the 21st century. When you go through his
- 31:58Speaker 2: movies and the money they made and the impact they had,
- 32:01Speaker 2: I would argue he's funny. Is he your cup of
- 32:05Speaker 2: tea all the time? Maybe not. Does he get tired
- 32:10Speaker 2: and old as he gets into his 50s now and
- 32:11Speaker 2: it seems like he's playing the same character and doing
- 32:13Speaker 2: the same bits over and over and over again? Sure,
- 32:17Speaker 2: maybe that's the case, but to argue that Anchorman and
- 32:21Speaker 2: Step Brothers and Talladega Nights... And all those movies he
- 32:24Speaker 2: made in a row aren't funny is ridiculous. I feel
- 32:28Speaker 2: the same way about Tom. I'm getting fired up about
- 32:30Speaker 2: my guy Tom Cruise, but there's no way I can
- 32:32Speaker 2: show you his IMDb.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Page and you'd say, I hate all these movies. Yeah,
- 32:37Speaker 1: but I would also say, there are things that are
- 32:40Speaker 1: just bizarre. But the perception I had of him up
- 32:44Speaker 1: until the real push for Maverick was just that. This
- 32:49Speaker 1: past year, he's sitting in the front row of a
- 32:50Speaker 1: Scientology celebration of L. Ron Hubbard.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Down in Florida.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Or he's on stage talking about Thetans whenever that Scientologist
- 33:02Speaker 1: documentary came out or whatever. It's just like the whole
- 33:05Speaker 1: thing of that is just bizarre. And that's kind of
- 33:08Speaker 1: where I had him. It was just this aloof, crazy ass.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Now it's different because of the things that he's done
- 33:19Speaker 1: since the rollout of the of the blockbuster, bringing back
- 33:24Speaker 1: Top Gun Maverick.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I haven't seen him do anything with Scientology.
- 33:26Speaker 1: The perception was just exactly what those guys were saying.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I get the perception in 2004 when all
- 33:32Speaker 2: that stuff was going down and he was heavy into Scientology.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I haven't seen him do anything Scientology recently, so I
- 33:38Speaker 2: didn't know that he was front row for some celebration
- 33:40Speaker 2: of L. Ron Hubbard.
- 33:41Speaker 1: There was a birthday celebration for the alien or whatever.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I'll delineate the two this way, because I hear this
- 33:46Speaker 2: a lot about Seth Rogen, whose politics are insane at times,
- 33:50Speaker 2: like a lot of Hollywood people. Their politics are insane
- 33:54Speaker 2: with how far left and off the grid they've gone
- 33:57Speaker 2: with certain things. I totally understand that. And if you
- 34:01Speaker 2: don't want to go watch Pedro Pascal. in something because
- 34:06Speaker 2: he's way far left on it. Like, okay, that's fine.
- 34:10Speaker 2: My issue becomes when you put that across in your art.
- 34:13Speaker 2: So if you were doing a movie and like the
- 34:15Speaker 2: whole movie is trying to brainwash people into one way
- 34:18Speaker 2: of thinking, and that becomes your personality on screen when
- 34:22Speaker 2: you're playing a character, then I shut it down. Like
- 34:25Speaker 2: I'm not watching. I don't care anymore about it. I
- 34:27Speaker 2: don't care about the slant you're doing. I can still
- 34:29Speaker 2: watch something Seth Rogen does because I think he's funny,
- 34:32Speaker 2: and it's not like pushing an agenda when he's doing
- 34:34Speaker 2: his movies. Now, I'm not going to listen to Seth
- 34:36Speaker 2: Rogen and interview, and I'm not going to support him
- 34:39Speaker 2: personally or politically and what he's saying, but I can
- 34:42Speaker 2: still watch a movie and think that he's funny. Well,
- 34:44Speaker 2: it's the same with music.
- 34:46Speaker 1: A lot of the musicians that I love are crazy.
- 34:50Speaker 2: I just saw a clip of Dave Matthews last week
- 34:52Speaker 2: saying he's effing tired of this president. Yeah. But you're
- 34:56Speaker 2: not going to stop listening to Dave Matthews because of that.
- 34:59Speaker 1: No, I mean, I love Dave. I don't want to
- 35:02Speaker 1: meet him in person. You know, like I don't think
- 35:05Speaker 1: I don't think he would be great to hang out with.
- 35:08Speaker 1: But I love the music. I'll always be a fan
- 35:10Speaker 1: of Dave Matthews' band. But same thing, I think Bruce
- 35:15Speaker 1: Springsteen comes to mind. I still respect everything that he
- 35:22Speaker 1: does as an artist, but I don't listen to what
- 35:27Speaker 1: he's preaching about. I don't follow everything the guy says.
- 35:31Speaker 1: If you can act, I'm going to follow and watch.
- 35:34Speaker 1: If you annoy me, chances are the movies aren't going.
- 35:41Speaker 2: To be that great. I'm fine with you not supporting
- 35:45Speaker 2: Lee Greenwood. Lee Greenwood is the example I'm going to make.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I'm fine with you not supporting Bruce Springsteen because his
- 35:54Speaker 2: music is politics now. Right.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Like his songs are political. Everything about him is political.
- 35:59Speaker 1: But I can still listen. I can still listen to
- 36:02Speaker 1: the hits. Yes.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Just fine. Sure. I can do that, too. But I
- 36:06Speaker 2: can understand like not just like if you're a Democrat
- 36:10Speaker 2: or you're on the left and you're like, you know,
- 36:11Speaker 2: everything that John Rich or Lee Greenwood sings about now
- 36:15Speaker 2: is political. Well, it talks about. So I'm not going
- 36:17Speaker 2: to say I can understand that. Again, separating the politics
- 36:22Speaker 2: from the art of it. When you blend the two.
- 36:25Speaker 2: That's when you're going to turn a segment of the
- 36:27Speaker 2: society off. I think Tom Cruise, and look, correct me
- 36:31Speaker 2: if I'm wrong, chime in on the YouTube chat if
- 36:33Speaker 2: you feel like, if you think his movies and everything
- 36:35Speaker 2: he does is Scientology coded, when you watch Top Gun Maverick,
- 36:40Speaker 2: or when you watch Color of Money, or when you
- 36:42Speaker 2: watch Risky Business, or you watch Jerry Maguire, if you
- 36:45Speaker 2: feel like he's preaching Scientology to you in those characters,
- 36:50Speaker 2: then tell me. I just don't see that. With Tom Cruise.
- 36:54Speaker 1: There's an alien living in his body, Jeff.
- 36:56Speaker 2: There's a Thetan. But again, if he does a movie
- 37:01Speaker 2: that's glorifying Scientology, talking about Thetans, then I'm out. I'm like, yeah,
- 37:06Speaker 2: I'm done. I get what everybody's saying, but his movie
- 37:09Speaker 2: characters and his hour persona is different than whatever he
- 37:13Speaker 2: does religiously.
- 37:15Speaker 1: But this started not because of the actor, but the person.
- 37:18Speaker 1: We're talking about we like Tom Cruise, right? Not the
- 37:24Speaker 1: character he's playing. They're reacting to the person and how
- 37:29Speaker 1: it annoys them. I understand it, but the perception I
- 37:33Speaker 1: had of him is not the one I have now,
- 37:36Speaker 1: is what I'm saying. Lee Greenwood, too. He also annoys me.
- 37:41Speaker 1: I feel like the only person who doesn't take their
- 37:43Speaker 1: hat off and stand and pledge allegiance whenever I hear
- 37:46Speaker 1: God bless the USA. It's not the national anthem, but
- 37:49Speaker 1: Lee Greenwood treats like that. Also, the perception I have
- 37:51Speaker 1: of Lee Greenwood is he was too good to bowl
- 37:53Speaker 1: with us at a charity event.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and he was also really struggling with some sort
- 37:57Speaker 2: of carpal tunnel issue that night, too. Didn't he have
- 37:59Speaker 2: a cast on?
- 37:59Speaker 1: He went behind a curtain and bowled on a solo lane.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. That's my perception of the guy. I don't
- 38:07Speaker 2: like that. Again, I think when your whole public being,
- 38:11Speaker 2: going back to Scientology, is politics or one-side political, then
- 38:16Speaker 2: I understand politics. People on the other side aren't going
- 38:18Speaker 2: to support that person or like it. I just don't
- 38:21Speaker 2: feel that way with Tom Cruise. I don't like the
- 38:23Speaker 2: Scientology thing. I get that he's come across as a
- 38:27Speaker 2: jerk a couple times publicly. I also will say there's
- 38:31Speaker 2: way more positive with him in the industry than negative
- 38:35Speaker 2: with people who actually know him and work with him.
- 38:38Speaker 2: At least in what they say in interviews. There are
- 38:40Speaker 2: people who are classically jerks. In Hollywood. To people that
- 38:44Speaker 2: work for them, to people that work underneath them. That
- 38:46Speaker 2: is not Tom Cruise from anyone who's ever worked on
- 38:50Speaker 2: a set with him at any given time. He is
- 38:52Speaker 2: genuinely interested in everybody on set and what they do
- 38:56Speaker 2: for a living and their craft. And he's asking about
- 38:58Speaker 2: them and what they're doing. That's how he's learned so
- 39:01Speaker 2: much about the movie industry. I respect that.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Tom Cruise is on tour to win an award. Lane
- 39:09Speaker 1: Kiffin's on tour with Excuses. We'll discuss that straight ahead
- 39:13Speaker 1: here on Hutton & Withrow. Hutton & Withrow is going
- 39:17Speaker 1: to be a 10 out of 10 college football weekend.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Perfect 10. Perfect 10 mortgage. They're 10 out of 10
- 39:24Speaker 1: as well. The name says it all. Apply in 10 minutes.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Close in 10 days. That's the whole idea here. A mortgage.
- 39:29Speaker 1: that is simple, fast, and fair. 10 minutes, start to finish,
- 39:33Speaker 1: right from your phone. No stack of paperwork and no
- 39:36Speaker 1: sitting across the desk from a banker who's talking down
- 39:39Speaker 1: to you.
- 39:40Speaker 2: That's right. And date the right mayor of the house.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Put it on a t-shirt. Get to know it. That's
- 39:45Speaker 2: what you need to know. That's what Perfect 10 is
- 39:46Speaker 2: going to tell you. If you're buying new construction, ask
- 39:48Speaker 2: about the builder program, builder-funded rate buy-downs. That can get
- 39:51Speaker 2: you a rate the bank can't print. Date the rate.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Marry the house. Get the house you want now. Refinance
- 39:56Speaker 2: and rates come down. Straight talk on what you actually
- 39:58Speaker 2: qualify for. Built for real people, not paperwork. Perfect10Mortgage. com or
- 40:02Speaker 2: call them at 855-789-1010. That's Perfect10Mortgage. com. Perfect 10 Mortgage is
- 40:08Speaker 2: an equal housing lender. Perfect 10 Mortgage is a DBA
- 40:10Speaker 2: or network funding LP. NMLS number 2297. Equal housing lender.
- 40:13Speaker 2: All borrowers must qualify. This advertisement is not a promise
- 40:17Speaker 2: to make alone.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Hey, one pledge we've always made is we're not going
- 40:20Speaker 1: to come in here every week and have a big
- 40:22Speaker 1: segment on fantasy football because everyone's like, oh, my fantasy
- 40:25Speaker 1: team this, my fantasy team that. And we don't go
- 40:28Speaker 1: around having three or four leagues either where you can
- 40:32Speaker 1: always come in and say you won because you've got
- 40:34Speaker 1: so many teams.
- 40:34Speaker 2: We've got one.
- 40:36Speaker 1: And we'll update it because there's a lot of season
- 40:38Speaker 1: ticket holders in the league. We would give them a
- 40:40Speaker 1: shout out right now if we could, Chad.
- 40:42Speaker 2: But look at....
- 40:44Speaker 1: Reno is in the top five here. So is Asian
- 40:47Speaker 1: Carp Allen. But, I mean, three of the top five
- 40:53Speaker 1: are the host and the producer here.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Well done. Well done, guys. This doesn't usually work out
- 40:57Speaker 2: that way, where the people throwing the league that have
- 41:01Speaker 2: the show are in first place. But that's what we
- 41:04Speaker 2: are right now. Just three winners here every day, 7 a.m.
- 41:07Speaker 2: to 9 a.m. Central Time, talking ball and winning their
- 41:10Speaker 2: fantasy football league. We came here to win a fantasy
- 41:13Speaker 2: football league and chew some bubble gum, and we're fresh
- 41:15Speaker 2: out of bubble gum, clearly, because we're 2-0 in this league. And, yes,
- 41:19Speaker 2: we will never be the show that takes questions from
- 41:23Speaker 2: the audience. Hey, should I start Zay Flowers or Michael
- 41:27Speaker 2: Pittman this week in this game? And I'm thinking that
- 41:30Speaker 2: is such a specific question just for your fantasy team
- 41:33Speaker 2: that does not appeal to the masses at all. Well,
- 41:35Speaker 2: I'd go with Zay Flowers. Right, right. We're never going
- 41:38Speaker 2: to be that show that does that. God bless shows
- 41:41Speaker 2: that spend time on that, but when you get into
- 41:43Speaker 2: specific fantasy football decisions from week to week and you're
- 41:47Speaker 2: giving that out to the masses, I just don't get it.
- 41:49Speaker 1: God bless chairs and God bless microphones. God bless pencils. Pencils,
- 41:54Speaker 1: because you're able to write. That's some classic Howard Stern prank.
- 41:59Speaker 1: God bless God.
- 42:00Speaker 2: God bless coffee. Without him, we wouldn't be able to
- 42:01Speaker 2: God bless.
- 42:02Speaker 4: Yep.
- 42:03Speaker 1: The classic tradeo call there, if you haven't heard it.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Chad, we've got Kiffin. Speaking of Tom Cruise, Kiffin goes
- 42:12Speaker 1: back and forth with me, too. I'm on the lane drain,
- 42:15Speaker 1: and then he's annoying. Then I'm back on the lane drain.
- 42:18Speaker 1: He's on the excuse tour right now, and I'm not
- 42:20Speaker 1: on board. I'm not on board right now.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a tweet from Brennan Chapman. who says,
- 42:26Speaker 2: let's update Lane Kiffin's running list since Saturday of things
- 42:29Speaker 2: he's complained about. Okay, you ready for this, Hutton? It's
- 42:31Speaker 2: going to take me a little while, so bear with
- 42:33Speaker 2: me here, okay? And sorry to the person that hates
- 42:35Speaker 2: when I look down on the show, but I'm going
- 42:38Speaker 2: to have to look down on my phone now, guy.
- 42:40Speaker 2: So don't hit us up with your complaints about it,
- 42:42Speaker 2: but here we go. The return was more emotional than
- 42:45Speaker 2: he expected. He wasn't as in competitive mode as he
- 42:49Speaker 2: thought he'd be. It's hard to win SEC road games
- 42:52Speaker 2: at night. LSU had injuries. Sam Leavitt mispracticed. Levitt missed
- 42:56Speaker 2: third down red zone prep. Levitt left clean pockets too early.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Levitt missed open receivers. LSU had a guy open on
- 43:03Speaker 2: the final drive. LSU had two guys open in the
- 43:06Speaker 2: end zone on another play. A missed block cost LSU
- 43:09Speaker 2: another TD. LSU settled for three from the Ole Miss three.
- 43:14Speaker 2: LSU gave up a TD right before halftime. The players
- 43:16Speaker 2: felt like they lost the game in multiple situations, not
- 43:19Speaker 2: the coaches. Chambliss kept beating the right defensive calls that
- 43:24Speaker 2: the coaches had. Chambliss is basically impossible to defend. Ole
- 43:28Speaker 2: Miss treated it like their Super Bowl. LSU had to
- 43:31Speaker 2: play at Ole Miss two years in a row. The
- 43:33Speaker 2: SEC scheduling format put them in that position. And now
- 43:36Speaker 2: Ole Miss was playing music through the snap again and again.
- 43:40Speaker 2: It's Wednesday. At some point you can say Ole Miss
- 43:43Speaker 2: just beat you. The Ole Miss playing music through the
- 43:46Speaker 2: snap again and again, to me, is the most interesting
- 43:49Speaker 2: of those excuses because that is a violation of SEC
- 43:53Speaker 2: protocol to play music during a play or as the
- 43:56Speaker 2: snap is happening. If, in fact, that was happening, if
- 43:58Speaker 2: he's lying about it, then it's just another fake excuse
- 44:01Speaker 2: about what happened. I mean, look, everything he said there
- 44:06Speaker 2: is probably true. But, you know, it does come across
- 44:10Speaker 2: as crying over spilled milk. Instead of just saying, hey,
- 44:13Speaker 2: they're the better team right now. You know, we're going
- 44:16Speaker 2: to work to be better than them as the season
- 44:18Speaker 2: goes along. But credit Ole Miss, they're the better team.
- 44:21Speaker 2: You could just say that also.
- 44:23Speaker 1: But also, like, the music. How could you hear the
- 44:27Speaker 1: music for the crowd? You know, you could hear the music,
- 44:31Speaker 1: but you can't hear the crowd. That's distracting. That would
- 44:36Speaker 1: be my question.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Did you– speaking of not hearing things– Steve Sarkeesian was
- 44:41Speaker 2: on a call with the media, I think the Texas
- 44:43Speaker 2: media yesterday, and they asked him about the president being there. Yeah,
- 44:46Speaker 2: we'll bring this up with LT later. Yeah, yeah. And
- 44:49Speaker 2: what a crazy deal where they shut down all communication
- 44:53Speaker 2: during that time. You've got Tennessee fans now imploring President
- 44:56Speaker 2: Trump to get up and move during key drives offensively
- 45:00Speaker 2: for Texas so that it shuts down their communication when
- 45:03Speaker 2: Tennessee's on defense.
- 45:04Speaker 1: But Insignetti says in that Miami game, Going back to the,
- 45:10Speaker 1: he's reiterating because he was asked about this after Sarkeesian
- 45:13Speaker 1: said something about the headsets. He's reiterated that the headsets
- 45:16Speaker 1: did not go out whenever Indiana was playing Miami. Maybe
- 45:22Speaker 1: it was a set of circumstances in that building that
- 45:26Speaker 1: Sarkeesian was in. Also, if you ask me a list
- 45:29Speaker 1: of SEC coaches that would just flat out lie, to
- 45:32Speaker 1: make themselves look better or make their job and their
- 45:34Speaker 1: life look more.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Difficult than it is. Lane Kiffin's the highest on that list.
- 45:38Speaker 2: And I would say Sark is probably pretty high up
- 45:40Speaker 2: there too. So if what Signetti's saying is true, I
- 45:44Speaker 2: would put him on that list. Signetti's the opposite. Like
- 45:46Speaker 2: he's never going to make an excuse. For anything at all.
- 45:50Speaker 2: It's just going to be matter of fact. You're an idiot.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I'm smart about everything. And I respect that honesty from them.
- 45:56Speaker 1: It is crazy how little coverage the court ruling has
- 45:59Speaker 1: had on the two players who are playing and allowed
- 46:01Speaker 1: to play for Indiana this year. They just got that
- 46:04Speaker 1: ruling this week to remain on the roster.
- 46:07Speaker 2: But were they in a training camp? Or were they
- 46:11Speaker 2: like mini camp? We're down in week four.
- 46:15Speaker 1: You know? Yeah.
- 46:18Speaker 2: What surprised me about that, honestly, is that the Big
- 46:20Speaker 2: Ten isn't more staunch on doing what the SEC did
- 46:24Speaker 2: because they're always– they try to be the conference of
- 46:27Speaker 2: we take the high road. We're more academically elite. We
- 46:31Speaker 2: play by the rules. So I feel like Tony Petitti
- 46:37Speaker 2: and the Big Ten would be more on the line of, hey,
- 46:39Speaker 2: we're going to kick you out of the conference if
- 46:41Speaker 2: any team does this the way Greg Sankey got tough
- 46:43Speaker 2: on it with LSU. I really think that the Sankey
- 46:46Speaker 2: toughness and SEC toughness was Kiffin-based. Oh, yeah.
- 46:51Speaker 1: If it was any other coach or program, and again,
- 46:55Speaker 1: government played a factor in this too, would the response
- 46:58Speaker 1: have been the same? If this were Heupel or Clark
- 47:08Speaker 1: Lee instead of Lane Kiffin, or if this were an
- 47:12Speaker 1: NFL player getting cut and coming to play at Vandy,
- 47:15Speaker 1: what it would have been.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Chad. So speaking of LSU, by the way, also they're
- 47:20Speaker 2: projected to have a $ 26 million deficit in their athletic
- 47:24Speaker 2: department this year after a $ 44 million deficit. I was
- 47:27Speaker 2: going to say last year was even worse. Because of
- 47:30Speaker 2: all the coaches they're paying and how much they're paying them.
- 47:33Speaker 2: And you're paying players. I mean, they've got a $ 50
- 47:34Speaker 2: million roster. I think them and Texas, I think are
- 47:39Speaker 2: the two that are widely considered to be the richest
- 47:42Speaker 2: rosters in There are others that are 40-plus. I think
- 47:45Speaker 2: Tennessee is one of them that is investing more than
- 47:47Speaker 2: $ 40 million in their roster. But LSU and Texas are
- 47:50Speaker 2: right up there. So that costs money now for the school, too.
- 47:53Speaker 1: All of a sudden, the WNBA is profitable, and they're
- 47:58Speaker 1: owned by the NBA. The NBA can control how much.
- 48:01Speaker 1: You know what I mean? If it's the athletic department,
- 48:04Speaker 1: the university can funnel money in a different way and
- 48:07Speaker 1: make it profitable.
- 48:08Speaker 2: Well, and they're going to become profitable. Like, I think
- 48:11Speaker 2: that this is all the coaching, you know, the paying
- 48:14Speaker 2: off Brian Kelly and how much they owed him and
- 48:16Speaker 2: then having to go and, you know, pay for Lane
- 48:19Speaker 2: Kiffin and you just hired another coach in Will Wade.
- 48:22Speaker 1: It's just all of that at once. The TV does
- 48:23Speaker 1: itself and the college football playoff. I don't think they're
- 48:26Speaker 1: working at a deficit.
- 48:27Speaker 2: They should be able to get back to even pretty quick. Again,
- 48:30Speaker 2: it went from 44 last year to 26 this year.
- 48:33Speaker 2: If it's 13 a year from now, two years from now,
- 48:35Speaker 2: they'll be back to even. And not operating at a deficit.
- 48:38Speaker 1: If it's that dire, don't hire the coach that you
- 48:39Speaker 1: just fired with the same type of contract, if not
- 48:42Speaker 1: more incentives.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Right. You know, if it's that dire.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Hey, SEC fans need to keep their powder dry. That's
- 48:48Speaker 1: next here on Honey with Ro. We've got Lance Taylor
- 48:51Speaker 1: from Next Round Live. He's going to join us coming
- 48:54Speaker 1: up in just a few minutes. First, though, let me
- 48:57Speaker 1: tell you about Clay Travis Law. Accidents, they don't wait
- 48:59Speaker 1: for a great timing. One bad moment, a wreck, a fall,
- 49:01Speaker 1: a doctor who wasn't paying attention. Suddenly, you're fighting an
- 49:04Speaker 1: insurance company that does this every single day. And that's
- 49:06Speaker 1: why Clay started Clay Travis Law. He's a Vanderbilt Law grad.
- 49:09Speaker 1: He built a firm around the idea that people deserve
- 49:11Speaker 1: someone willing to pay attention, ask the hard questions, push
- 49:14Speaker 1: back when things don't add up. And he's bringing experienced
- 49:17Speaker 1: trial attorneys to your side who fight the corporate.
- 49:20Speaker 2: And insurers.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Based in Nashville, trusted across the country.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Car and truck wrecks, ride share accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability,
- 49:27Speaker 2: product liability. If you were wrong, they want to hear
- 49:29Speaker 2: about it. Here's what they promise.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Honesty.
- 49:32Speaker 2: They don't sugarcoat your case. You'll hear what it's actually worth,
- 49:34Speaker 2: not what you want to hear. Case evaluation is free.
- 49:37Speaker 2: No charge, no pressure, no hassle. Just tell them your story.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Go to claytravislaw.com or call them at 877-222-4444. That's claytravislaw.com.
- 49:46Speaker 2: No case is too big or too small.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Jen, I'm headed to a memorial for a celebration of
- 49:52Speaker 1: life for Coach Dave McGinnis, Coach Mack, who had the
- 49:55Speaker 1: famous saying, keep your powder dry. And shout out to Mack,
- 49:59Speaker 1: as we say, SEC fancy to keep their powder dry.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Yeah, certainly shout out to Coach Mack. And best of
- 50:06Speaker 2: luck on your travels this weekend, Hutton, in honoring and
- 50:09Speaker 2: memorializing a stellar individual and an absolute legend of a man,
- 50:14Speaker 2: Coach Dave McGinnis. And he had many legendary sayings. And
- 50:17Speaker 2: I often repeat the saying, even with my softball team,
- 50:20Speaker 2: I'd say we've got to keep our powder dry. And
- 50:22Speaker 2: these 11-year-old girls would look at me like, what is
- 50:24Speaker 2: this guy, what is this old man talking about? Keep
- 50:26Speaker 2: your powder dry? No one understands what it means. It
- 50:29Speaker 2: doesn't matter what it means. What it means is stay calm.
- 50:32Speaker 2: What it means is don't go freaking out, as Frank
- 50:35Speaker 2: the Tank said in old school. You can't go freaking out.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Keep your powder dry, SEC fans. This is not the
- 50:42Speaker 2: days of the 1990s where one loss and you're doomed
- 50:46Speaker 2: for a national title or an SEC title in many years.
- 50:49Speaker 2: It's a new era. It's not totally NFL-like in that
- 50:53Speaker 2: you get so many passes like you do in the
- 50:56Speaker 2: NFL to lose games, but it's becoming more and more
- 50:58Speaker 2: like that. And when you're in a conference– The same
- 51:01Speaker 2: goes for the Big Ten, for the most part, not
- 51:03Speaker 2: the bottom of the conference. But in the SEC, everybody's
- 51:05Speaker 2: spending money. Vandy's spending money. Kentucky's spending money. Arkansas eventually
- 51:09Speaker 2: is going to spend money. Everybody top to bottom is
- 51:12Speaker 2: spending money. They're going to get high-level guys from the
- 51:16Speaker 2: lower levels, from the group of six to come in
- 51:19Speaker 2: and make things happen for their rosters. Everybody can be
- 51:22Speaker 2: had in this league. So you have to keep the
- 51:25Speaker 2: mindset of one loss isn't a killer. Two losses aren't
- 51:30Speaker 2: a killer. In some cases, three losses might not be
- 51:33Speaker 2: a killer. Now, you get into four, five, and six,
- 51:35Speaker 2: and if you had aspirations to play in the playoff,
- 51:38Speaker 2: you're done at that point for the playoff, and you're
- 51:40Speaker 2: worried about playing for pride at that point in the season.
- 51:43Speaker 2: I think everybody outside of LSU and A & M
- 51:46Speaker 2: this weekend, Hutton, they're not playing with house money, but
- 51:50Speaker 2: it's so early in the SEC season that you can't
- 51:53Speaker 2: treat this as a do-or-die situation if you're an SEC fan.
- 51:56Speaker 2: It sure feels like do-or-die for those two teams, though.
- 51:59Speaker 2: with LSU and A & M in this game. The
- 52:01Speaker 2: loser of that game with what the schedule looks like
- 52:04Speaker 2: and what remains, that feels like an SEC elimination game.
- 52:08Speaker 2: It does, man.
- 52:09Speaker 1: And hey, if South Carolina were to beat Bama, Bama
- 52:11Speaker 1: fans are certainly going to have some wet powder.
- 52:15Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 52:15Speaker 1: They're going to have some wet powder. By the way,
- 52:18Speaker 1: it's the gunpowder. You want to keep your gunpowder dry.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Wet gunpowder doesn't fire.
- 52:23Speaker 2: And also, I'd say on the flip side, if South
- 52:25Speaker 2: Carolina goes down there and gets blown out by Alabama,
- 52:27Speaker 2: South Carolina fans are going to start talking about their coach.
- 52:30Speaker 2: And the job he has, because it's like, we've got
- 52:31Speaker 2: a little more sellers than these guys, and now they're 0-2,
- 52:34Speaker 2: and it's not going to get any easier as the
- 52:35Speaker 2: season goes on. There's going to be a lot of
- 52:37Speaker 2: that going on in South Carolina.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Well, we already heard Beamer at the presser. He was
- 52:41Speaker 1: talking about losing Mississippi State, and then he goes, we
- 52:44Speaker 1: may lose this week. We're going to come back and
- 52:46Speaker 1: get ready for the next game. I'm like, you don't
- 52:48Speaker 1: need to lose this week. You could win a lot
- 52:49Speaker 1: of people back by going on the road and winning.
- 52:52Speaker 2: And it does feel like this is the type of
- 52:55Speaker 2: game Beamer surprises, right? If we're going on the Shane
- 52:58Speaker 2: Beamer seesaw, It's like last night with the Atlanta Falcons.
- 53:01Speaker 2: He goes to Tuscaloosa and shocks the world. Like last
- 53:04Speaker 2: night with the Atlanta Falcons, Chad. You know? Hey, my guy,
- 53:07Speaker 2: Michael Penix Jr. Yeah, man. Looking pretty good in his return.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Maybe he's finally got that body figured out and he's
- 53:13Speaker 2: healed and he's ready to spin it.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Hey, just a reminder, as we get ready for LT,
- 53:18Speaker 1: he's going to join us. Coming up, Wagon Wheel tonight
- 53:21Speaker 1: in Knoxville. You've got 8.15 Eastern start time. Going to
- 53:25Speaker 1: be live right here across the Sporting State Network. Dixieland
- 53:28Speaker 1: Delight Friday night, Chad.
- 53:30Speaker 2: That's right. Myself, in fact, I'm about to head to
- 53:32Speaker 2: the airport here in about an hour and a half
- 53:33Speaker 2: to go pick the ladies up to head east to Knoxville. Myself,
- 53:36Speaker 2: Kelly Stewart, Ariel Epstein, Vols baseball star Levi Clark will
- 53:41Speaker 2: join us. It's going to be a big time at
- 53:42Speaker 2: Wagon Wheel. Awesome spot in the Old City. Come hang
- 53:45Speaker 2: out with us if you're in Knoxville. If not, check
- 53:47Speaker 2: us out on the YouTube pages. We'll be everywhere we
- 53:51Speaker 2: do business tonight, 8.15 Eastern Time. Looking forward to it, man.
- 53:55Speaker 1: And looking forward to our chat coming up with Lance Taylor, L.T.,
- 54:00Speaker 1: from Next Round Live. The Next Round host who follows
- 54:03Speaker 1: us right here at Hutton & Withrow, he joins us
- 54:06Speaker 1: next on Sporting State.
