- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist and.
- 0:44In this episode of The Hypnotist, you'll be listening
- 0:47to a hypnosis session created for a female client that really
- 0:52wanted to get to a point of acceptance but also feel
- 0:58empowered to assist their partner with a recent ADHD
- 1:06diagnosis. And they, they felt that they
- 1:09had built up some resentment as a result of the ADHD influencing
- 1:16certain decisions and actions. And they really wanted to
- 1:21reconnect with how they originally felt with them and to
- 1:27really feel that they had more choices in terms of accepting
- 1:34the ADHD but working with it rather than being frustrated or
- 1:38annoyed by it. And part of that is this idea of
- 1:42loving boundaries, this idea of doing things in a way that
- 1:47becomes empowering rather than disempowering, that creates
- 1:50connection rather than disconnection.
- 1:53So although the genders used in here are very much aimed at a
- 1:57female with a male partner, if you're listening to this and you
- 2:01have a partner that is neurodiverse and it's led to
- 2:06certain emotional baggage that you're carrying, you might get
- 2:09some value from this. But of course, it was created
- 2:12for an individual. So if you feel like a bespoke
- 2:14session might be more helpful for you, there will be a link in
- 2:17the show notes where you can schedule that free consultation
- 2:19call. For now though, find a quiet,
- 2:22comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 2:24Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 3:16you breathe in, breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath of
- 3:25intense resourcefulness, breathing in that wonderful
- 3:30feeling. And as you exhale, feeling a
- 3:36sense of of release, allowing sensations of tension, stress,
- 3:46or worries to start to feel like they're leaving your body in
- 3:53that outward breath. As you breathe in and breathe
- 3:59out, notice your eyelids getting heavier, releasing any tension
- 4:06from your eyebrows all the way down into your eyelids down into
- 4:10your jaw. Just imagine those tiny muscles
- 4:16at the back of your neck starting to relax and your
- 4:25breathing starts to happen all by itself, requiring no effort.
- 4:31Breathing in deeper, exhaling for longer, almost like your
- 4:37heart and lungs combined, and doing the breathing for you,
- 4:44feeling like you're drifting off to a place of acceptance and
- 4:56wonderful changes. Take another deep breath in,
- 5:11allowing it to fill your lungs completely, and as you release,
- 5:19feel a sense of heaviness settling over your shoulders.
- 5:29Each breath takes you deeper into comfort and ease, and maybe
- 5:42you've already noticed that the rhythm of your breathing is
- 5:47becoming more steady and more calm.
- 5:54It's got a rhythm that you can see in nature, the rhythm of
- 6:00ripples on a pond or waves lapping at the shore.
- 6:10With each breath out, just feel you're releasing any tension and
- 6:16feel that stress is simply melting away.
- 6:25Feel safe and calm and relaxed as you allow your awareness to
- 6:32travel down your body, relaxing your arms, your hands, going all
- 6:41the way down, down your chest, into your gut, even your
- 6:46internal organs start to relax all the way down into your legs,
- 6:56down to your toes. Just feel a sense of complete,
- 7:03ever increasing relaxation. That's it.
- 7:14Chore relaxing, neck relaxing even more.
- 7:23And I want you to use the power of your imagination to imagine
- 7:30staring into a photo album of memories.
- 7:42Flick through the pages until you can find a picture that
- 7:49doesn't exist in reality, but exists in your imagination of
- 7:55your very first date. Maybe you can recall what you
- 8:03were wearing. Maybe the location, something
- 8:15about that date, the triggers that memory, and when you recall
- 8:28that memory of that date looking like you're seeing it in a
- 8:31photo, let me know by nodding your head.
- 8:40Imagine you step into the photo, but not into yourself.
- 8:48Imagine you're a time traveller, going back to that memory at
- 8:52your current age, seeing you back then as you were, and see
- 9:02the expression on your face when you made eye contact that very
- 9:10first time. Almost read the mind of that
- 9:16version of you, get a sense that there was desire, attraction and
- 9:27perhaps see. See you in deep conversation,
- 9:33eyes transfixed. See the body language of someone
- 9:38in deep connection. And I want you to get a sense
- 9:45that knowing what you now know, there are clues, clues that you
- 9:52missed at the time, but now become obvious as you get a
- 10:00sense that the person you were attracted to then also had a
- 10:08different way of thinking, a different way of being.
- 10:13And that's the person you were attracted to.
- 10:21You didn't find the attraction and the connection and something
- 10:26changed that you were always attracted to someone wired that
- 10:33way. And if you, with your current
- 10:39knowledge, can now see that even on the very first day, let me
- 10:43know by nodding your head and therefore feel the resentment,
- 10:55any resentment created from that moment to now, melting away like
- 11:07snow on a sunny day. I want you to get a sense that
- 11:17if any resentment was due to malice, deliberate choices that
- 11:30you now perceive to be unfair, then the resentment was built on
- 11:43false foundations and therefore it can melt away.
- 12:01I want you to step into that version of you on that very
- 12:04first date. Feel how you felt at the time,
- 12:12staring into their eyes, feeling that attraction, that
- 12:22connection, the excitement. Maybe there's a spark or
- 12:29chemistry or a different word you would use.
- 12:35Feel there's a sense of playfulness or fun, and notice
- 12:42where you feel these feelings in your body and amplify them.
- 12:46Allow them to feel stronger, filling your heart with warmth.
- 12:54Notice how in that moment, everything felt fresh, new, and
- 12:57full of possibility. And these aren't just memories.
- 13:06Neural pathways were built in that moment that we're re of
- 13:12activating. Now.
- 13:16Awaken them. Rekindle them because you can
- 13:20carry this connection, this sense of romance and fun, of
- 13:26excitement, connection back into the present moment, reigniting
- 13:35the bond you share. And as you soak up all of those
- 13:46wonderful feelings of connection and love, a new understanding
- 13:51begins to emerge. You realise it's not about
- 13:58fixing or saving him, it's about facilitating his growth and
- 14:09empowering him to solve his own challenges.
- 14:21You already believe that you get what you tolerate, not what you
- 14:24deserve. But that also applies to 1/2.
- 14:32For a path, for a sigh, pressure to help.
- 14:45If you tolerate it, you'll get more of it.
- 14:51But what if you reward something else?
- 14:55What if you were to reward problem solving?
- 15:04Accountability? What if you're rewarded
- 15:16hindsight? What if you're rewarded that
- 15:28element of the qualities you admire?
- 15:40Not just the ambition, but the follow through.
- 15:47Not just the focus in the short term, but in the longer term.
- 15:56I want you to give permission to yourself.
- 16:05Tell yourself it's OK to have loving boundaries as you
- 16:10acknowledge that boundaries are not barriers, they are bridges
- 16:15to understanding and mutual respect.
- 16:22Feel the strength in your heart as you embrace this belief, and
- 16:28maybe you could imagine yourself gently but firmly holding space
- 16:34for your husband to take responsibility for his
- 16:38decisions. You can support him without
- 16:46needing to take on his challenges as your own.
- 16:52There are things you do together and things he'll need to do all
- 16:59by himself, and in doing so you feel a deeper sense of empathy
- 17:12and acceptance that his ADHD is just a part of him.
- 17:26You can't change your eye colour, but your eye colour
- 17:30doesn't need to define you. It may be a part of him, but it
- 17:37does not define him. So feel that everything up to
- 17:48now is the past. Extract the wisdom from the
- 17:55past, learn from it. But all the emotions of the past
- 18:03are no longer needed. I want you to get a sense that
- 18:12there's some things that you throw away when they lose their
- 18:15value. Old clothes, broken furniture.
- 18:28Why keep them if they're not useful?
- 18:32And the resentment you've been holding on to is certainly not
- 18:36useful. So as we start a new year, agree
- 18:45with yourself that this resentment belongs in the past
- 18:51and you're not willing to bring it forward into this new year.
- 18:58And if your unconscious is willing to wipe the slate clean,
- 19:04to learn from the past but not hold on to it, let me know by
- 19:10nodding your head. I want you to imagine what the
- 19:24next year could look like without that resentment.
- 19:33A more feeling of teamwork for the past is behind.
- 19:47There is a clean slate, and a head is a bright, exciting, fun,
- 19:56connected future. I wonder if you could feel in
- 20:02advance a sense of partnership, of mutual understanding.
- 20:09When you're not walking his path for him, but they're walking
- 20:13beside him, cheering him on as he learns and grows.
- 20:26Not helping is not being cold because you are helping.
- 20:35If you're facilitating more of that personal responsibility,
- 20:44accountability, the wisdom that only comes from experiencing the
- 20:52consequences of decisions and actions, and feel that this
- 21:02facilitates more feelings of admiration, connection, respect,
- 21:10but also fun and excitement. That these boundaries are acts
- 21:21of love for yourself and for him.
- 21:27And you carry the understanding that by letting go of the past,
- 21:33you are actually creating all of the right ingredients for a
- 21:41stronger, more connected future. What if resentment is a poison,
- 21:54A poison for a relationship? Doesn't it make sense to make
- 21:59sure you're not carrying that poison inside?
- 22:02You feel it is fully in your past and you're not willing to
- 22:09hold on to that poison anymore. And in doing so, you create more
- 22:15space for that empathy, understanding and loving
- 22:21boundaries. And maybe you can get a glimpse
- 22:30back in that photo album of memories that haven't even
- 22:35happened yet. Future memories of connection
- 22:39and love and fun that are only possible because you let go of
- 22:46the resentment and because of those loving boundaries.
- 22:52And if you get a sense of that future, just let me know about
- 22:55nodding your head. That's it.
- 23:01Which confirms that resentment is in your past and the slate is
- 23:07indeed wiped clean. Very soon I will count from 1:00
- 23:15to 10:00 to awaken you. And you will awaken in a
- 23:21slightly different version of you into a reality where the
- 23:25resentment is in your past and optimism is in your future and
- 23:30in the here and now. The slate is indeed wiped clean.
- 23:38So take a deep breath in through your nose and count through your
- 23:44nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 23:46wiggle your toes. Connect fully into the here and
- 23:50now as I count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 23:55Starting to count 123 waking up 456, more alert 7-8.
- 24:04Open your eyes. Open your eyes, 910.
- 24:08Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
