- 0:01Good morning basement dwellers. We've got a big show today, big
- 0:05news about silver, but I want to say thank you for being here
- 0:09right now. We're going to dive right in to
- 0:11speaking about two gurus, right? The only people who.
- 0:16Called the Great. Financial crisis.
- 0:18What are their actions? Think about it.
- 0:21What's always important in life? We learned this when we were
- 0:24young. Actions speak louder than words
- 0:28and when we follow the actions of what the only two people,
- 0:33well, maybe there were a few more, but the two biggest name
- 0:36people who called the great financial crisis called the
- 0:39mortgage-backed security stuff that went bow back in 2008.
- 0:45If we look at what they're doing, don't we want to pay
- 0:47attention? Like, don't these guys have a
- 0:49track record of telling the future, making very smart
- 0:53financial moves, and we are going to talk about paying off a
- 0:56house with silver. I've got a lot of insights on
- 1:00that I want to share and more crazy news about the economy.
- 1:04But let's dig right into this first story about the two gurus,
- 1:09right? We want to pay attention to what
- 1:11the big guys are doing. Here we go from Business
- 1:14Insider. Michael Burry and John Paulson
- 1:18hit the jackpot when they called the housing crash again, I'm
- 1:22going to say it 10 more times. Guys, think about this.
- 1:26These are like multi, I don't know if they're billionaires,
- 1:30but 10s of hundreds of millions of dollars they made by
- 1:34correctly betting against the housing market, seeing into the
- 1:39future. Isn't that what we're doing when
- 1:41we buy silver and gold? We're looking into the future,
- 1:44aren't we? Thinking I want to have some of
- 1:47my assets or most of my assets or whatever you decide
- 1:50personally protected with silver and gold.
- 1:53And these guys looked into the future back in 2005, 2006 and
- 1:58they saw a big crash coming and they got ridiculed for it.
- 2:02They made a movie about Michael Burry.
- 2:04We'll get into more of that later.
- 2:05But if if, if the guys who have a good track record and have 10s
- 2:09of hundreds of millions of dollars are buying gold would.
- 2:13Would it be a good? Idea for you to pay attention.
- 2:15I mean, you have to answer that question for yourself.
- 2:17There's Michael Burry. We love Michael Burry.
- 2:21OK, Big Short fame. Bah, Bah.
- 2:23We'll get into more of this later.
- 2:24I'll give you the highlights. We don't need those highlights.
- 2:27Oh, there we go. Apparently Michael buries into
- 2:30heavy metal music, so he isn't just a metal head when it comes
- 2:34to music. The investor of the Big Short
- 2:37fame, they wrote a book about this guy.
- 2:39They made a movie about this guy.
- 2:43What is he doing? He purchased about 441,000 units
- 2:48of the Sprott Physical Gold Trust last quarter.
- 2:53The trust holds virtually all of its assets and physical gold
- 2:56bullion. OK, now let's go down a little
- 2:59further. That's worth about $8 million
- 3:02right now. Buying gold is a surprising move
- 3:07from Burry, a value investor known for sniffing out dirt
- 3:11cheap stocks. Sniffing out value seen into the
- 3:15future. Buying gold right now?
- 3:17I wonder if he's buying silver? Including GameStop years before
- 3:21it became a meme stock. He's also bet against Tesla.
- 3:25Burry shot to fame for predicting and profiting from
- 3:29the collapse in the mid 2000s of the housing bubble.
- 3:33The saga was chronicled in the book and movie The Big Short.
- 3:37OK, so there's check number one, right?
- 3:40A famous guy of guy who's known for being able to tell the
- 3:45future. And look, he doesn't have a
- 3:47crystal ball. He could be wrong.
- 3:49I could be wrong. You could be wrong.
- 3:51Don't make any financial decisions based on anything that
- 3:53any of us say. But I sure feel a lot better
- 3:57when you got a guy like Michael Bury buying gold, buying
- 4:00precious metals. But wait, there's more.
- 4:03Yes, John Paulson, another guy with hundreds of millions of
- 4:08dollars. How did he make his name in a
- 4:11similar wager immortalized in a book titled quote the greatest
- 4:18trade ever like Bury, the Paulson and company chief
- 4:23appears to be bullish on gold and other precious metals
- 4:27because get a load of this. There's John Paulson, Nick, I
- 4:31said Hank Paulson, John Paulson, Hank John at whatever Paulson's
- 4:35firm counted Anglo gold Ashanti. That's a big gold mining
- 4:40company. Agnico Eco mines, Equinox gold.
- 4:44I own that. I know a lot of you guys own
- 4:46Equinox as well. I am Gold International, Tower
- 4:49Hill Mines, Nova Gold, Perpetual Resources, Seabridge Gold and
- 4:52Trilogy Metals amongst its 18 holdings.
- 4:57Sounds like to me this guy's got a lot of his money in gold
- 5:01mining stocks. Does what does that make you
- 5:05think, huh? Back in 2021, the veteran
- 5:08investor, this is John Paulson predicted stubborn inflation.
- 5:12Wood Forest, the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates, spurring
- 5:18investors to dump their cash and other assets for gold.
- 5:21He argued. Right, This is 2021.
- 5:24Nobody believed us. That's when we that's when we
- 5:27all started here in the basement together.
- 5:29Guys. Nobody believed us.
- 5:32And I got to tell you about what happened at the neighborhood
- 5:34swimming pool last night, right? The old swimming pool indicator,
- 5:37my neighbors with gold and silver.
- 5:39I'm going to tell you, OK, where was I?
- 5:43OK, right. Spurring.
- 5:44He argued that it dumped their. OK, let me slow down.
- 5:48Spurring investors to dump their cash and other assets for gold.
- 5:53And when we say gold, remember, gold is the Mama bear of all the
- 5:58precious metals. Silver's like the little cute.
- 6:00Baby cub that's going to grow up and do a ferocious bear at some
- 6:06point. Not a bear.
- 6:07Bear market, a bear powerful. He argued the double whammy of
- 6:12surging demand and limited supply would cause the yellow
- 6:15metals price to soar. Paulson's call proved prescient.
- 6:20Prescient. I can't say that word the Fed
- 6:22has raised. Its benchmark rate from nearly
- 6:24zero to north of 5% in a bid to bring down inflation and the
- 6:27price of gold. Has jumped from when he started
- 6:31buying it at $1800 per Troy oz when in 2021 to record levels
- 6:39above $2400 in recent weeks. This is this is the best.
- 6:45This is why it's in yellow for you, baby.
- 6:47Burry correctly predicted inflation and rising rates as
- 6:51well and appears to share Paulson's view that gold stands
- 6:57to benefit. So always critical for us to
- 7:00follow what the biggest, smartest people in the room are
- 7:04doing, right? We always want to know.
- 7:06And these guys only disclose what they own because they have
- 7:11to, they're required by regulatory.
- 7:14So we get a glimpse into what they're doing.
- 7:16And what they're doing in the case of Michael Bury is buying
- 7:21physical gold. What they're doing in the case
- 7:23of John Paulson is buying the precious metal gold mining
- 7:28stocks and silver mining stocks. We're in for a fun ride, guys.
- 7:32Let's talk about some shocking news about silver.
- 7:36OK, You ready? What does this mean?
- 7:39There is an unbelievable set up right now in silver.
- 7:43We've covered that at nauseam, right?
- 7:45We know silver is set right to potentially soar.
- 7:50But let's begin. I got a very interesting e-mail
- 7:56that that really spurred some incredible thoughts.
- 7:59This comes from from the comment section of one of my videos, our
- 8:02good friend CWLPFOC said. Hi Ron, you know, I work for an
- 8:08electric company. Yes, I did know that.
- 8:10I know this person. He's a very, very good guy,
- 8:12great basement dweller. He.
- 8:14Works for an electric company and he found out the other day
- 8:17that solar panels are considered hazardous waste.
- 8:21You can't just throw them in the garbage.
- 8:23Oh my gosh, you think the crooks in charge know how valuable
- 8:28these panels will be one day. So they don't want them tossed
- 8:32in the trash. And I didn't realize that.
- 8:36But yes, of course, because we've we've got other people and
- 8:39a lot of debate going on in the comments section.
- 8:42You can, you can, you can. You can chime in here as well.
- 8:47How much silver is in each solar panel and why wouldn't they?
- 8:50Want to throw them away now? Are they realizing?
- 8:53How much silver is in there? I'm going to have to say
- 8:56somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 of an ounce is in each solar panel.
- 9:01And then somebody said only there's only that much.
- 9:04Do you know how many solar panels they are?
- 9:08Let me help you with this. OK, India is building solar
- 9:13panel farms that are bigger than the borough of Manhattan, and I
- 9:19think they're even build building bigger ones now.
- 9:21OK, drive down the highway sometime, look off into the
- 9:25distance, you'll see sometimes just fields, even here in
- 9:28Missouri, in Missouri, right? Probably one of the least.
- 9:32Green states in the. World or the country, I should
- 9:35say. There's just solar panel after
- 9:37solar panel. There's so many solar panels
- 9:40being built, it's unbelievable. And, and here let's just look at
- 9:45this 'cause this was the big massive news story from
- 9:49yesterday. Look at this chart.
- 9:54OK, Well here that is solar institutions installations in
- 9:59India per quarter, OK? This is each quarter, three
- 10:03month period all the way back to 2019.
- 10:06Doo, Doo, Doo Doo. 200 megawatts, 202,000 megawatts,
- 10:112004 thousand megawatts. Holy moly.
- 10:15Look what happened in the first quarter of 2024.
- 10:20Do you see? I don't even know.
- 10:22I mean, the numbers are astounding.
- 10:23What is that 100,000 megawatts? Whatever it is, OK, The amount
- 10:29of solar installation is going absolutely crazy right now.
- 10:36Guys, that's just one component of the silver story.
- 10:42What about microchips? Right?
- 10:44What about? What about the?
- 10:45One that nobody talks about. Do you know about this use for
- 10:49silver And and some people I heard Rick Rule say it's kind.
- 10:52Of one of the. Sleeper uses for silver that
- 10:55nobody talks about, right? Is sanitation purposes right?
- 11:00Silver is antimicrobial. In case you didn't know this, I
- 11:05know you probably do. You you're, you're smart and
- 11:08maybe you've done all your homework on silver.
- 11:11But you know, there's a reason why that rich people are
- 11:14referred to as, oh, he was born with a silver spoon in his
- 11:19mouth. That's because hundreds of years
- 11:21ago, if you were wealthy, you had pure silver utensils because
- 11:25they knew back then silver kills germs.
- 11:29But there's this this potential and growing use for silver and
- 11:36sanitate water filtration sanitation purposes all over the
- 11:40world. Nobody talks about it.
- 11:43Everybody talks about solar. Solar and solar is huge, right?
- 11:46Like we just saw, solar is unbelievably huge.
- 11:50I always recommend to anyone who's who's invested in silver
- 11:54if your neighbors have solar panels in their yard, I do.
- 11:57This all the time. They're cool with it.
- 12:00I go over and give him a hug. I love solar panels.
- 12:02They're good for the environment.
- 12:05I'm an opportunistic environmentalist and they're
- 12:09good for the price of silver. And think about this we'll.
- 12:14Get back to. Sanitation, right Cleaning.
- 12:16Up the stuff that goes through your toilets with silver.
- 12:19But think about this, right? And one of you, you know who you
- 12:24are. One of you pointed this out to
- 12:26me because nobody talks about this with solar either.
- 12:29And our, our. Friend with the gave us the
- 12:31comments earlier, Mr. J, we'll call him, kind of pointed this
- 12:35out. But when silver goes into a
- 12:37solar panel, bye bye, everybody say bye bye together with me,
- 12:42bye bye. Right, that silver.
- 12:44'S gone for at least 20 years, I don't know 15.
- 12:48Years. What's the lifespan?
- 12:49Somebody said told me it was 20 years that silver is if it ever
- 12:54is right, like like like this insight we had from our one of
- 12:58our viewers tells us that now they won't let people throw them
- 13:01away even if it is going to be recycled.
- 13:05It's gone. It's it's like gone to sleep.
- 13:07It's not available. It's in a solar panel for the
- 13:10next 15 to 20 years. Think about it just.
- 13:13About the time when all those toilets are flushing in India.
- 13:17And they need to clean up that. Water.
- 13:20Right. The sanitation uses for silver
- 13:23are going to explode as well. You're here.
- 13:26You're hearing it burst here in the basement.
- 13:29We told you last year, late in the year, gold was gonna go
- 13:32skyrocketing. This year.
- 13:34Well, now I'm telling you, it's probably gonna be a little bit
- 13:36more than six months. We'll say somewhere between 12
- 13:39and 18 months, right? We're gonna be.
- 13:42You're gonna be hearing that silver's the ultimate poop
- 13:44cleaner. Whatever they're going to be
- 13:48selling, not just silver bars at Costco, they're going to be
- 13:52selling toilet paper that's got silver fibers.
- 13:55Well, no, on a serious note, what they're going to be doing
- 13:59is using silver to purify water to clean waste.
- 14:03OK. And there's big developments
- 14:05going on in that sector right now.
- 14:08You hold your horses, you watch. What else do we have to talk
- 14:11about today? How are you doing?
- 14:12Thank you. Please give this a thumbs up.
- 14:14Let's. Let's say thank you to our
- 14:16sponsors. Let's put their banner up there.
- 14:20We go, hey, how's your Memorial Day going?
- 14:23It's kind of nice we're sitting here over the weekend, right?
- 14:26We know silver closed above $30 per oz, OK.
- 14:32And and gold still 2333 dollars I think and 30 cents on Kitco
- 14:38like to 333-3333. Pretty soon the gold price is
- 14:42going to start with a three, OK, $3000 maybe by the end of the
- 14:47year, I don't know, I'm not predicting that, but it's going
- 14:50to be an interesting, interesting ride.
- 14:53OK, let's talk about another big factor with silver and then
- 14:58we're going to talk about can you pay off a house with silver?
- 15:03And I'm going to tell you some shocking news that in that
- 15:07regard, but but let's talk about a big deal that's going on with
- 15:12silver. I heard Rafi Farber, I want to
- 15:13give him credit was said this during an interview and we all
- 15:17kind of know this, but I don't think sometimes that's why we're
- 15:21here in the basement together, basement dweller.
- 15:23We want to put two and two together, right?
- 15:25Sometimes, sometimes things are right in front of you, but you
- 15:28don't think about it. And it's something that this is
- 15:31going to make you feel very, very good about your investments
- 15:35into silver And what he basically said, And I'm not
- 15:39putting words in his mouth, so if I'm slaughtering this, I
- 15:41apologize, Rafi, but what I got out of what he said was.
- 15:45Guys, we have $30 silver. Hello.
- 15:47Happy Memorial Day. Hey, it's my mom's birthday.
- 15:53Do me a favor. I almost forgot I meant to write
- 15:55that down. Darn it.
- 15:56Everybody please say happy birthday, Tina.
- 16:00In the comments section, she watches the live stream.
- 16:02She'll get a kick out of it. Wonderful woman.
- 16:05Happy birthday, mommy. I'll see you later today.
- 16:07But none the less, $30 silver. This, this is our, this is our
- 16:12birthday present to my Mama, right?
- 16:15What's the big deal? What's different?
- 16:18What's different? And what should you be so
- 16:22encouraged about right now when it comes to that, this rise that
- 16:26we had to 30 Remember we had the C19 crisis.
- 16:30Remember, they locked you in your house and you were forced
- 16:32to watch YouTube all day long and Bubba, whatever.
- 16:36But shortly thereafter, about a year into it, we had a massive
- 16:41spike. We had a.
- 16:42Silver. Squeeze Remember Remember
- 16:45everybody was at home and day trading stocks and AMC and
- 16:49GameStop where everything was crazy right and then we.
- 16:53Had this thing called Wall Street silver that started up
- 16:56and we had a silver squeeze. Everybody was buying silver for
- 16:59like 2. Days.
- 17:03And then some BS article came out and they were jealous and
- 17:06and then the comex tamped it down blah blah blah.
- 17:10Something happening right now but OK.
- 17:13And the silver price got up to around $30 per oz.
- 17:17OK. I want you to think about this.
- 17:20What I mean this, this needs to make sense to all of us that are
- 17:24invested in silver. Now I ask you, how different is
- 17:29this recent rise in silver and what did it get to $32.50?
- 17:34It is completely different than the rise in silver that we had,
- 17:41what is that three years ago, right, 3 1/2 years ago during
- 17:45the silver squeeze. This is completely different,
- 17:47OK, in two key ways, two big critical ways.
- 17:52Number one, this is being driven by the BRICS countries, India,
- 17:58China, right? All the BRICS countries, the
- 18:01eastern countries are driving this massive uptick, not just in
- 18:05silver but also in gold as well. That's factor #1 fact.
- 18:12And that's a good thing, right, Because they're taking over
- 18:15those markets. But factor #2.
- 18:20Is completely opposite of what happened during the Silver
- 18:23Squeeze back in 2021 in February.
- 18:27This time, there's no help. OK?
- 18:31You're helping. I know you are.
- 18:33I'm not. Don't get mad at me for saying
- 18:35this. This is just, this is actually a
- 18:37good thing for you, but you're getting no help from your
- 18:41comrades in the United States, OK.
- 18:45It's completely different. The Silver Squeeze in 2021 was
- 18:49driven by by by by all these people coming together.
- 18:53The Apes, Wall Street Silver, blah blah blah.
- 18:55And Wall Street Silver's awesome.
- 18:57I love it. The Silver D Gen.
- 18:59Club, I love it. But let's be real.
- 19:02It is not this recent rise that we've had has been helped a
- 19:06little bit, but the opportunity is there right in the West.
- 19:11Right. People buying from Costco,
- 19:13people waking up the. Opportunity is there.
- 19:17So we got a double positive. We've got the Eastern countries
- 19:20taking over, driving this rise and it's been, does it feel
- 19:24different to you? Another third big thing.
- 19:26Bonus, bonus, bonus. Third big factor.
- 19:32Third big factor. OK, during the Silver squeeze,
- 19:35I. Think I don't have a chart in
- 19:37front of me, but it sure it mean it.
- 19:38The price of silver spiked, right?
- 19:41The price of a lot of the silver mining stocks spiked and we how
- 19:45many? I know it's no fun to be
- 19:48patient, but patience is a virtue.
- 19:50Hold your horses. That's what my mom used to
- 19:52always saying it's her birthday, so I'm not going to be but you
- 19:55hold your horses right? The spike.
- 20:00In the silver price, during the silver squeeze, what always
- 20:03happens to a spike? What always 99% of the time,
- 20:07right? Anything that shoots up.
- 20:10What? Happens to it, it runs out of
- 20:12energy and it shoots down, right?
- 20:17Who wins the race, the tortoise or the hare, right?
- 20:20The tortoise cause the hare falls asleep, runs out of
- 20:22energy, right? And this time in the silver
- 20:25price, we're having a steady, steady, steady.
- 20:30Steady, steady rise. Higher.
- 20:33Big, big difference. Let's see if I can remember all
- 20:36three. We're all getting older, you
- 20:37know. Let's review them together.
- 20:39Basement dwellers, what do you say?
- 20:40Right factor #1 the East is taking over the price of
- 20:45precious metals. Sorry, Comex.
- 20:48Sorry. London Million Market
- 20:50Association. The LMA, the London Metals
- 20:52Exchange. Huh.
- 20:54My friends over in London, right?
- 20:56Huh. My friend Paul is from London,
- 20:59right? Paul Morris, director of
- 21:02investor relations for First Mining Gold.
- 21:04He's on our side. Thank you First Mining Gold for
- 21:07sponsoring the Channel. But that's number one.
- 21:10You can reach Paul if you ever want to talk to him.
- 21:13His e-mail address is in the description of this in every
- 21:15video. But none the less I digress #1
- 21:19right right. The West is losing control of
- 21:22the metals price. OK, China, India taking over #2
- 21:27#2 number dose, right number dose there's no help from the
- 21:32West, but there's huge massive. It's the silver lining potential
- 21:39if. Even just one.
- 21:40Of your neighbors, I got to tell you about the swimming pool here
- 21:43in a second. The old swimming pool indicator,
- 21:45the silver and gold swimming pool indicator.
- 21:48Big potential. OK #3 this has been a stair step
- 21:53up, which is a good thing in the long runs.
- 21:57Goes up, consolidate switch. Guys, it's just a fancy way of
- 22:01saying the, the, the, the chickens, right?
- 22:04Chickens Bok. Bok the silver chickens.
- 22:08Because. This is the way it works.
- 22:09The price goes up $32. The silver chickens buck, buck,
- 22:14buck, buck they get out. Oh, I got to sell.
- 22:16I got to sell. They get out.
- 22:17The price goes back to 30. All the sellers are gone and
- 22:21then whoop, the price goes to 35, OK 38 whatever and then
- 22:26buck, buck the. Chickens come out, right?
- 22:28It goes back to 35 and there's no more sellers, and then it
- 22:31goes to 40 and we're like having a big party here in the
- 22:35basement, right? Because the real value of
- 22:38silver, I calculated it this morning.
- 22:41Silver should be at $73.65 period.
- 22:45OK, let's go check on the silver price.
- 22:48Hold on a second here. How are you doing today, Ron?
- 22:52I'm doing great. Thank you for asking.
- 22:55And we are going to go out and look at the silver price.
- 22:59Here we go, a little behind the scenes up.
- 23:02Wrong one. What did I do?
- 23:04There We go up Silver holding steady this weekend $30.45, Gold
- 23:122335.43. Thank you to our friends at
- 23:17Pembex. Guys, this is not possible.
- 23:19This show is not possible without the support of our
- 23:22sponsors. Pembex is a company I love
- 23:25having as a sponsor because I loved them before I agreed and
- 23:31they agreed to sponsor my channel.
- 23:33I'd worked with them thanks to you guys told me about Pembex.
- 23:37If you want to get right the best price, if you want to get
- 23:42the best value, OK. If you want a great selection
- 23:46and a company you can trust, you need to find out for yourself.
- 23:49Do your own due diligence, but please do yourself a favor, OK?
- 23:53Throw Pendeks into the mix next time that you are looking to buy
- 23:58silver, gold, precious metals or platinum group metals.
- 24:02We're having a Sunday morning party and you're here, huh?
- 24:06My fellow basement dwellers all. Right.
- 24:09What's next? What's next?
- 24:11What should we go to next? How?
- 24:14About a crash. And then we're going to talk
- 24:16about housing and we're going to talk about buying a house with
- 24:20silver, right? Paying off your mortgage with
- 24:23silver. And I'm going to give my
- 24:25opinion, not financial advice, but my opinion about what we
- 24:30could see come through. I got a very heartfelt e-mail
- 24:33from one of you guys and I want to address that.
- 24:35But let's go look right now at what's going on because guys,
- 24:39what do you think? What do you think is going to
- 24:42happen? What?
- 24:44Do you think is going to happen when this the kind of I'm
- 24:47telling you. All right, buckle up, buttercup.
- 24:50Your silver and gold. Hug your silver.
- 24:52Hug your gold. OK, Go over to your neighbor's
- 24:55house. Hug their solar panel.
- 24:59I'm not telling you what to do. I'm not giving financial advice,
- 25:02but I'm telling you, in my opinion, feel really good about
- 25:05the silver and gold you're holding because this economy is
- 25:09on the brink just domestically in the United States with the
- 25:13world geopolitical situation. And we're going to touch on that
- 25:16as well, 'cause we got big scary news going on right now in the
- 25:21world. Serious, serious scary situation
- 25:24in Asia. But let's look at this.
- 25:26This came from our friend this guy, So you may remember Coin
- 25:31Shop Chris, still a very great friend of mine.
- 25:34He sent this to me last night. I had to stretch it out because
- 25:36it was vertical. But this is housing inventory
- 25:41active listing count in Florida, OK.
- 25:47Look at this chart. Guys, darn it, I can't see the
- 25:51bottom of it. Shoot.
- 25:52Well, anyway, what you see, right, is we had about 140,000
- 25:57houses on the market crashed down, right?
- 26:00Nobody but there were no houses. Look at this, look to the right,
- 26:04Look what's been going on. Look at this trend.
- 26:06We are going to see a housing, we're going to see a housing
- 26:12crash in this country. I believe we are OK.
- 26:14I think we're at a point where there's really very little that
- 26:19indicates to me enjoy the wealth that you've got in your house
- 26:24right now. If you're one of those people
- 26:26that believes your house is worth what Zillow is going to
- 26:29tell you it's worth or whatever. But we're we're headed for some
- 26:33very, very challenging times economically in this country.
- 26:37And it even gets worse. Let's go.
- 26:39Let's just go touch on. What does it mean when we know?
- 26:45Hold on here. Here we go.
- 26:49That the consumer, this is from CNBC.
- 26:52The consumer is the US economy. What is a bunch of spenders,
- 26:58right? Americans are spending big with
- 27:01credit cards. Here's what that means for the
- 27:03possibility of a recession. Let's go down to the highlights
- 27:07here. Strong consumer spending has
- 27:10promoted modest economic growth. The economy's not growing,
- 27:14right? It's modest.
- 27:15I mean, we're going to get the data down here below indicators
- 27:18like savings rates, how much money people are saving, right,
- 27:22and credit card. You suggest that households may
- 27:25soon rein in their budgets in this here, right here.
- 27:31What does that mean when we consider the consumer spending
- 27:37represents more than half of the economy?
- 27:41We are our whole economy is based on spending.
- 27:45OK in the thank you, Susie. In the first quarter of 2023,
- 27:50gross domestic product grew. At a 1.1% rocket fuel rate.
- 27:56Now stop. I want you to consider this this
- 27:59in terms of your silver and gold.
- 28:01I need to remind you, let's do a quick refresh.
- 28:04When the economy crashes, Jerome Powell in the United States
- 28:09Federal Reserve only has one solution, and that is to
- 28:14liquidate the economy. They're going to lie to you, but
- 28:17liquidating the the money supply, liquidating printing
- 28:21money, quantitative easing, Unicorn fart dust, I don't care
- 28:25what you want to call it, right? Dilution of the money.
- 28:28Hyperinflation is, is likely what we're going to see.
- 28:33If you can work a calculator, it's real easy to figure out.
- 28:36That's the only thing that they're going to do.
- 28:39So you're telling us in the first quarter, gross domestic
- 28:42product grew at one point 1% rate.
- 28:47Stop. Think about this.
- 28:49They're telling the government. Now, look, I hate to break it to
- 28:53you. You know, I'm not the guy.
- 28:55I'm not going to tell you there's not a Santa Claus.
- 28:57I'm not going to tell you. You know, you really can't be
- 29:01president, OK? The odds of that, I mean, OK,
- 29:04like all these things, but I'm gonna I will tell you this.
- 29:08You can be president, you can believe in Santa Claus, but
- 29:11please don't believe these numbers.
- 29:14They come from your government, whether it's about GDP or
- 29:18inflation, right? I mean, people dig in more into
- 29:21the inflation numbers. The inflation numbers are
- 29:24complete bogus. It's like, what do they use to
- 29:27calculate inflation? You know, the cost of, of, of
- 29:32rice at the my local Asian. I mean, I don't it's like
- 29:36bizarre. OK, so they're telling us that
- 29:40we had 1.1% growth, We didn't have 1.1% growth.
- 29:46And now the Fed's at the end of its tightening cycle and may be
- 29:49coming into focus as consumers reach their breaking point as
- 29:54the pandemic fades. I think the pandemic faded a
- 29:57while back, CNBC. But nonetheless, historic levels
- 30:01of personal savings have taken a nosedive.
- 30:04That's because inflation was like 20% in one year.
- 30:09OK, So people had to dig into their savings.
- 30:11Deposits at banks have crested as consumers keep spending amid
- 30:17continually rising prices. Let's just get down to the meat
- 30:22here. Analyst at the New.
- 30:23York Federal Reserve report record levels of credit card
- 30:27debt. So people don't have any savings
- 30:31and we have record, record credit card debt.
- 30:33This underscores the economic split in the country.
- 30:37Yes, right. Yeah, You got rich people and
- 30:40everybody else. With.
- 30:42Some consumers flush with savings following a thrifty
- 30:45pandemic, while others are finding it increasingly
- 30:48difficult to spend wisely amid rising prices, mounting layoffs
- 30:55and the potential of a recession.
- 30:59What do you think? Tell me let's.
- 31:01Let's go to the. Comments here.
- 31:03What do you think? Do you think we're going to have
- 31:05a recession? Let me turn that off.
- 31:07Thank you to all our sponsors, and the only sponsor I haven't
- 31:10talked about yet today is our friends at Fortuna Silver.
- 31:15Man, that stock's been on a tear, right?
- 31:18I mean, I've owned it. I own anything I talk about, I
- 31:21own. But wow, Fortuna has really been
- 31:23on a tear. Mining stocks are risky.
- 31:25They can go up a lot. They can go down a lot.
- 31:28But Fortuna, one thing for sure, is always managing their
- 31:32business in a very conservative way.
- 31:35A fortress balance sheet is what Jorge Canoza often refers to.
- 31:39He's the CEO of the company. Last quarter they generated
- 31:43massive amounts of profit and they just celebrated a 1,000,000
- 31:48ounces of gold being produced from their mine in Burkina Faso.
- 31:52And it's a mine that they'd anticipated closing down, but
- 31:55they've been able to extend the life of it.
- 31:57Through exciting exploration opportunities.
- 32:00Thank you Fortuna Silver for sponsoring Ron's basement.
- 32:03Yes, we've got a / a billion dollar company that sponsors us
- 32:08guys, huh? We're in the big leagues, right?
- 32:10Right. First, mining gold is multi
- 32:12million ounce deposits in Canada.
- 32:15Right pin backs. Is the best place in the world.
- 32:19In my opinion, to buy silver and gold.
- 32:21Hey, look, you do your own due diligence on all these, but I'm
- 32:25excited. OK?
- 32:26What? About NFL ticket prices, This is
- 32:30how screwed. Up the cut and then we're.
- 32:31Going to get the silver. Paying off a house with silver.
- 32:35I promise you I'm going to address that.
- 32:37I am not going to give financial advice, but I'm going to give my
- 32:40opinion. Where was I?
- 32:45Oh yeah. NFL Ticket Prizes Have you been
- 32:48doing an NFL game? Do you go to NFL football games?
- 32:51Right? I don't.
- 32:52Right. We don't have a team in Saint
- 32:54Louis anymore. Where'd it go?
- 32:56Here. This is America From.
- 32:59From Trader. Corporates have taken over
- 33:03America in a big way. Yeah, the corporations, big
- 33:06business took over the country. No doubt earlier.
- 33:09You could have a lot of fun in America for little to no money.
- 33:13Now, if you don't have money, you can have fun in America.
- 33:17Well, you can still have some fun out.
- 33:19You know I can. I still have fun.
- 33:20Travel, concerts, eating out, vacations.
- 33:25Average Americans have been priced out.
- 33:28It's pure greed, guys. That's why some people talk
- 33:31about potential for big social upheaval in this country.
- 33:35May have a sip of coffee. I'm going to tell you more about
- 33:38that because you got like 2/3 of the people that are poor and are
- 33:49fed up and angry and they don't really understand, thank God,
- 33:53they don't understand how bad the system.
- 33:56We have a system that if you're a middle class American, if
- 34:00you're an average working class American, just working.
- 34:03Without a big. Stock portfolio without a,
- 34:06without a giant pile of silver and gold, right?
- 34:09You're just working. It's the system is set up right
- 34:13because of the way the Federal Reserve System is set up.
- 34:16Their goal, their goal is to steal 2% of your money through
- 34:21inflation. They've exceeded their goal over
- 34:24the last couple years, right? In real terms, people that like
- 34:28shadow stats that do the real numbers, they what stole 15% in
- 34:32one year, 20% in one year. But that's OK if you're it's
- 34:36called inflation, that's OK if you're rich in this country
- 34:40because you own a bunch of real estate, you own a bunch of
- 34:43stocks. And in the stock market, they
- 34:45don't call it theft. They don't call it inflation.
- 34:48They call it a bull market, OK, in the real estate market, you
- 34:52know, right, Right. They call it a good, it's a good
- 34:55real estate market, things are great.
- 34:57But if you're a working person in this country, right?
- 35:00And I, I, I fall somewhere in the middle, you get the shaft.
- 35:04Excuse my language. Let's talk about going to an.
- 35:06You guys want to go to an NFL game?
- 35:08Think about this. I may have a question for you,
- 35:10Silver Stacker. Hold on.
- 35:12I got to look you in the eye. Oops.
- 35:15Hold on. Here we are.
- 35:17I'm looking you in the eye. I have a question for you.
- 35:21I need to get a prop. Darn it.
- 35:23Well, anyway, Anyway, you. Own silver.
- 35:28Let's say you got a tube. Do you have a tube of silver?
- 35:31A tube of like 20 American Silver Eagles.
- 35:35OK, I want you to think about that tube of American Silver
- 35:39Eagles as we go back to this, 'cause this is gonna, this is
- 35:42gonna get you thinking and we need to be thinking, right?
- 35:45Wrong one. There it is.
- 35:47NFL game ticket prices. Stupid.
- 35:52I mean, this makes me mad. As with most expenses, NFL
- 35:56tickets NFNFL ticket cost increase each year.
- 36:00In 2012, the average ticket price for an NFL game was an
- 36:05astounding. I'll say $190.00 in 2021.
- 36:12That's a couple years old. However, the average ticket is
- 36:15higher, 457. So take that tube of American
- 36:20Silver Eagles. OK, we're rounding here now take
- 36:23two of them. Take two tubes.
- 36:25Two tubes. Let's say you and your if you're
- 36:28married, your wife or husband or friend, you, whatever are you
- 36:33and you're going to go to an NFL football game.
- 36:35Are you willing to trade by the time you pay to park and get a
- 36:40hot dog? I bought some Nathan's hot dogs
- 36:42yesterday. I'll tell you about that in a
- 36:43second. Anyway, if you're going to park
- 36:46and it's going to cost you $600.00, roughly a tube of
- 36:51American Silver Eagles each. So are you going to trade?
- 36:57Look at me. Are you going to trade a tube?
- 37:00Two. Tubes of American Silver Eagles?
- 37:02Let me see. Man, I don't want to leave you
- 37:04guys. I got in trouble for doing that
- 37:06before anyway. Two tubes of American Silver
- 37:10Eagles to go to a football game. Somebody, some might.
- 37:14No problem. I'm not.
- 37:15You know, I like watching Kansas City Chiefs on TV, all that good
- 37:20stuff. But holy moly is this.
- 37:23Country. A dichotomy or what?
- 37:26Two tubes? I'm just going to sit here for
- 37:28the rest of the day and ask you that.
- 37:29Question, do you want to trade two tubes now I'm going to talk
- 37:32about I'd rather trade some of those silver in to pay a house
- 37:35off. We're going to get to that in a
- 37:38second. OK, I don't know, right.
- 37:41It's. Crazy.
- 37:42Yeah, I go to the grocery. Store yesterday.
- 37:44I need to buy some buns. I go there at I mean, we got
- 37:48this grocery store by our house called Dierbergs and I'm like
- 37:50shocked at the prices. Absolutely, utterly shocked.
- 37:54But I go in the door and I get the Flyers.
- 37:56I'm like, I better look at the flyer to see what their Memorial
- 37:59Day sale is, right? You can buy Nathan's Hot dogs.
- 38:02You know how much Nathan's Hot Dogs cost?
- 38:04It's ridiculous. A package of eight hot dogs is
- 38:08like $8. I'm like, what for Hot dogs?
- 38:13Hot dogs? Get yourself a hot dog.
- 38:16Do you know who knows what I'm talking?
- 38:18About Hey, get yourself a hot dog.
- 38:20Hot dog. OK, that's a hint.
- 38:23Who can guess what I'm talking about?
- 38:25Hold on here. I gotta get back.
- 38:28I gotta get back. Oh, my gosh.
- 38:29Ron McAdams, you're back. Thank you for the Super chat.
- 38:33Wow. Great, Nate.
- 38:34Thank you. Good to see you.
- 38:36Great, Nate. And who's this guy?
- 38:39Rock Monkey looking for silver to pull back below 30?
- 38:45Well, Rock monkey, it could. I got a feeling it's not going
- 38:49to, but it's right there, so it definitely could.
- 38:52I'll tell you about my prediction for the coming week
- 38:54here in a little bit. But they had Nathan's Hot Dogs
- 38:58on sale for $3.00. So I'm like.
- 39:00So I usually buy the ones that are like a bucket ALDI that are
- 39:03made out of mystery meat. Kids can't tell the difference
- 39:06anyway, but I splurge, and they had a deal where you get a
- 39:10package of Nathan's hot dogs for $3 and a free pack of buns.
- 39:16I thought, boy, I hit the jackpot today.
- 39:18You know, where was I? All right, we got more.
- 39:22Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 39:23Nobody's talking. Nobody's talking.
- 39:26Let's get Ron McAdams back up here.
- 39:28Smiling face. There he is.
- 39:29Hi, Ron. Ronny.
- 39:30Ron. Look, nobody's talking about
- 39:32silver and gold. I go to my neighborhood swimming
- 39:34pool. This is the Ron's neighborhood
- 39:37swimming pool. Gold and silver indicator.
- 39:40I see my neighbors, right? I talked to my one neighbor.
- 39:43Smart guy. Smart guy, smart guy for an
- 39:46hour. He knows that I'm obsessed with
- 39:49silver and gold, and I thought I'm just going to see if he
- 39:51asked about silver and gold. He's asked about it in the past,
- 39:54OK? I talked to him for more than an
- 39:56hour, nothing, nada, nada. Then some other neighbor came up
- 40:00who I didn't really want to talk to.
- 40:02And I've told you this, if you're ever in a social
- 40:05situation, OK, this is a silver and gold fundamental.
- 40:09If you're ever in a social situation, somebody comes up to
- 40:11you that you really don't want to talk to.
- 40:14Start talking about silver and gold.
- 40:15They scatter like fleas. It's like you got scurvy.
- 40:18They go. We don't.
- 40:19Want to talk about that? We don't want to talk about
- 40:21that. We want to talk about I don't
- 40:23know. You know the weather.
- 40:24Anything but silver and gold. And.
- 40:27Then my neighbor, he was talking to me about the dive diving
- 40:30board and our pool's broken. This is a little bit off topic,
- 40:33but it, it kind of hurt my feelings a little bit.
- 40:35And he was talking about how the back of it's rusting and that it
- 40:40and and that, and then like, maybe bigger people shouldn't go
- 40:42off it. And he kind of insinuated I
- 40:44shouldn't go off the dive board. I'm like, oh really?
- 40:47You know, what the heck? All right, let's talk about
- 40:52we're going to get to this. Paying off a house.
- 40:54Uh oh, hold on here. Paying off a house with silver
- 40:58and gold. Bye.
- 40:59Bye, Ron McAdams, everybody. Say bye to Ron, one of our
- 41:04fundamental basement dwellers. Well, I got to ring the bell.
- 41:07Susie's going to kill me. What else am I forgetting?
- 41:09I love to get silver in the mail.
- 41:11Please give this a thumbs up. Maybe we can get to 300.
- 41:14I don't know. And super chats are always super
- 41:17appreciated. Thank you for the three Super
- 41:18Jets today and. You can subscribe, it's free, We
- 41:22put out new content every single day.
- 41:24You'll meet great other silver and gold enthusiasts.
- 41:27Really good quality people here. Overwhelmed by the high quality
- 41:31people. You're in good company when
- 41:33you're in the basement. Not with me, but with these
- 41:35other people. OK, but I got to ring the bell.
- 41:38We've done this for the ages. 200 thumbs up.
- 41:41OK, All right, where was I? Guys, this is serious.
- 41:50This is could be very, very scary.
- 41:52But apparently just so you get us caught up on world events.
- 41:55We know China loves silver and gold.
- 41:58We know that silver cost $4.00 per oz more on the Shanghai.
- 42:02Gold. Exchange and the Shanghai.
- 42:06Futures. Exchange.
- 42:08But. There's a lot more going on with
- 42:11China right now. They could have serious
- 42:13ramifications geopolitically in the world.
- 42:17Apparently, Taiwan as a new president.
- 42:20I'm just gonna give you the so you can speak at your BBQ this
- 42:23afternoon, speak fluently about this.
- 42:25Taiwan is a new president and China is sending a message that
- 42:31like Taiwan, you might think you're independent, but we own
- 42:35you. Apparently they had massive
- 42:37military drills over the last two days and encircled the
- 42:42island, right? Had like mock missiles going
- 42:46off, all kinds of crazy stuff. Look, if you invest in silver,
- 42:52you invest in gold, you invest in an asset that is timeless,
- 42:57has provided a safe harbor during everything that the world
- 43:01has been able to throw at it. And I got news for you.
- 43:04Are we asleep? I have a question for you.
- 43:08Are you asleep or am I asleep? No, everybody else is asleep.
- 43:13Because guess what? The world right now is throwing
- 43:18more at silver and gold than it has for anytime during your
- 43:23lifetime and my lifetime. OK, unless you're in your 80s.
- 43:25And if you are, hey, good for you.
- 43:28Happy you're here. But if you're younger than 80,
- 43:31right, we've never seen so much scary, bad geopolitical
- 43:38situations thrown at your silver and gold.
- 43:40And guess what they're doing? They're doing what they've
- 43:43always done. They're doing.
- 43:45They're serving their purpose, right?
- 43:48They're maintaining their value. So when that's going on with
- 43:52China and Taiwan and we've got war in Europe, war in Europe, I
- 43:57still say, imagine you come knock on my door, right?
- 44:01We come down here, we're having a cup of coffee, the year's
- 44:042019. And I tell you what, we're going
- 44:07to have a pandemic. I can tell the future, right?
- 44:10Don't make any financial decisions based on anything I
- 44:12say. But it's 2019.
- 44:14You're five years younger, five years better looking right, five
- 44:18years. Whatever.
- 44:19It's 2019 and I tell you we're gonna have a a pandemic, OK?
- 44:24And they're gonna make us all get shots and they're gonna keep
- 44:26us locked in our houses. They're gonna shut the economy
- 44:29down. The Fed's gonna print 40%.
- 44:33Forty, yes, 40% of the money that's ever been of dollars.
- 44:39They're gonna increase the number of dollars in the world
- 44:42by 40%. Think about that alone.
- 44:44And then I tell you, oh, yeah. But then a couple years later,
- 44:48we're going to go to war in, in Europe.
- 44:52Yeah. And then I tell you that there
- 44:55that ended a couple years after that, we're going to have
- 44:59another war in the Middle East. And then I tell you that China
- 45:04is going to, I mean, guys, we it's easy because it's, it's
- 45:09normal. It's like normal now, but take a
- 45:11step back and look at what's going on in the world right now
- 45:15and it is absolutely crazy town. I'm sorry there's no other way
- 45:20to describe it. Let's.
- 45:21Talk about that you want you want to pay off a house, pay off
- 45:24a. Mortgage with silver.
- 45:26I got to read this to you and I want to, I want to conceal this
- 45:31man's identity, but he had a really heartfelt question.
- 45:34And can you pay off a house, a mortgage with silver?
- 45:37And I'll give you my opinion. OK, hold on one second.
- 45:50I was drinking coffee. You may not have been able to
- 45:52see it because the cup is camouflaged.
- 45:57That is why Susie keeps me in the basement.
- 46:00OK, Dear Ron, I. Have a silver question?
- 46:03For you, we own our home but have a $200,000 fixed mortgage
- 46:09at around 3 1/2 percent. The house is worth around
- 46:14400,000. We have no other debt
- 46:17whatsoever. If we have about 1000 ounces of
- 46:21silver also, do you think someday we can pay off all that
- 46:27debt with silver? Should we buy more silver?
- 46:30Right. 'Cause they're they he, I'll,
- 46:32I'll give this guy's, you know, they're able to save money every
- 46:35month. Should we buy?
- 46:36More. Silver or should we work on
- 46:38paying off our house right now? But let me tell you this first.
- 46:41And I have a degree in accounting.
- 46:43I understand money, right? Musicians can read music.
- 46:47I can't. I work with a bunch of musicians
- 46:50at night. Anyway, I can't read that stuff.
- 46:54I use it for scratch paper when I'm writing notes.
- 46:56I turn it over the from the anyway, I can read financials.
- 47:01I understand money. OK, I will tell you five years
- 47:05ago and and I've been posed with this question, I would have said
- 47:08pay off your mortgage. Pay off your mortgage, OK, but
- 47:13now, now given where we are, if a person and this is what I told
- 47:17him, if you have a fixed rate mortgage, right, If you have a
- 47:21fixed rate mortgage, so the rate can't go up and it's for 30
- 47:25years given the current interest rate environment.
- 47:30And given all the other factors that we've talked about, a lot
- 47:34of the stuff we talked about today.
- 47:36The world factors, OK, the United States, domestic factors,
- 47:40the, the, the debt, all that stuff, everything going on OK,
- 47:45The one time in my life I change and I say if, and this is only
- 47:50with fixed rate long term, like a mortgage on a house, I'd keep
- 47:54the mortgage. And will you be able to pay the
- 47:57house off at some point with 1000 ounces of silver?
- 48:00I think there's a darn good chance of that.
- 48:02Over the next 30 years? Absolutely.
- 48:06OK. Now, if you're going to pay off
- 48:09that $200,000 mortgage with 1000 ounces of silver, that would
- 48:14mean 200 oz silver. Do I think silver is going to
- 48:17get the $200.00 per oz at some point in the next 30 years?
- 48:22I do. I'm sorry, throw eggs at me,
- 48:25whatever you want. Do I think it could happen in
- 48:27the next 10 years? I do right?
- 48:30So if you just hold on to that silver.
- 48:32And you don't have to do anything.
- 48:34Hide it, whatever, OK? And you hold.
- 48:37On to that mortgage, right, which is that low percentage?
- 48:41I think no matter how you, no matter how either silver goes to
- 48:45$100.00 an ounce, 100 and 5065, you're still better off with the
- 48:50silver. Oh, and here's the other thing.
- 48:56Here's the big key. OK, at some point, right?
- 49:02And could you pay the house off with 100 ounces of silver?
- 49:05Some people say, I've heard, I think Rafi Farber has said that
- 49:07there could be a brief window when silver really, I mean,
- 49:10Lynette Zhang talks is I've heard her on my show and others
- 49:15talk about she thinks the real value of silver is about $2000.
- 49:19I got news for you. Don't worry.
- 49:21Don't pull out your calculator. If silver goes to $2000 per oz
- 49:26and you have 100 ounces, you have 200, right?
- 49:30Yeah, $200,000. Right.
- 49:33Yeah, Yeah. Two, yes, you can pay off your
- 49:38house with 100 ounces of silver, OK.
- 49:41But the big key thing here is, is this.
- 49:44If you do that, when that happens, you're not you're
- 49:48converting, you're converting that silver, OK, from being a
- 49:53physical silver that you own, you're converting that into a
- 49:57real, another real asset, which is always a smart thing to do.
- 50:00You're converting it into real estate, right, a real asset.
- 50:05All right, guys, thanks for being here today.
- 50:08Make sure I didn't didn't forget anything.
- 50:09I appreciate all the moderators. I appreciate you.
- 50:12Have a great day and I'll see you soon.
