- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where the.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Plays get broken down and science gets denied to.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Our two of Off.
- 0:10Speaker 1: The Bench Live from the Raising Kine Studio.
- 0:44Speaker 4: All right, welcome back and now were number two of
- 0:45Speaker 4: o TV here live from the Raising Kine Studio.
- 0:48Speaker 5: Jake Flynn Alinge Taite Wolf back off here with you.
- 0:54Speaker 5: That's four people. We didn't know if l SU basketball
- 0:59Speaker 5: would half.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Four people for a long time, but Tata, we are
- 1:04Speaker 4: finding out. But each passing day that they actually have
- 1:08Speaker 4: a full squad. Ain't gonna field a team this year.
- 1:11Speaker 6: You you were saying we almost had enough to practice.
- 1:13Speaker 6: I think they do now. I think they do have
- 1:15Speaker 6: enough to practice. The first name that dropped yesterday not
- 1:21Speaker 6: technically official, like LSU has not announced this yet, but
- 1:24Speaker 6: I mean a lot of the media outlets have it.
- 1:27Speaker 6: Another John Brady special here for you. Yam madar Uh
- 1:32Speaker 6: the international guard. This guy's twenty six years old. He
- 1:35Speaker 6: was drafted by the Boston Celtics and the twenty twenty
- 1:38Speaker 6: NBA draft. He's actually a top forty pick. Didn't play
- 1:43Speaker 6: much there, went to the summer league that year. Has
- 1:45Speaker 6: been playing in Tel Aviv this past season. Averaged seven
- 1:51Speaker 6: points a game, two and a half assists, two rebounds.
- 1:54Speaker 6: This past season, shot forty percent from the floor, about
- 1:57Speaker 6: twenty nine percent from three again in that Euro Israeli league,
- 2:01Speaker 6: So it's yeah, we'll see what happens there again. The
- 2:06Speaker 6: Ulshoe hasn't announced this yet officially, but a lot of
- 2:10Speaker 6: the other outlets are reporting it now. The second guy
- 2:13Speaker 6: has been announced, that's Austin doon Az, the transfer from UTSA.
- 2:17Speaker 6: The guy's been a little bit everywhere so court to
- 2:20Speaker 6: sports Reference page. Started at Arizona State in the twenty
- 2:23Speaker 6: two to twenty three season, played in twenty eight games,
- 2:27Speaker 6: not bad for a freshman, and then Ole Miss in
- 2:30Speaker 6: the twenty three to twenty four season. Back to Arizona
- 2:34Speaker 6: State for twenty four twenty five, only played in four games.
- 2:38Speaker 6: I imagine that's how he got his fifth year. Seems
- 2:41Speaker 6: like some sort of an injury popped up. And then
- 2:43Speaker 6: last year at UTSA twenty two games twenty one starts.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Average hovered right around ten points per game, three assists
- 2:51Speaker 6: per game.
- 2:51Speaker 2: So solid year for.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Him out there in the American League and now his
- 2:56Speaker 6: fourth school in five years in his college career coming
- 2:59Speaker 6: to bed Rouge.
- 3:01Speaker 7: All Right, I feel better. Not enough to scrimmage yet,
- 3:07Speaker 7: but enough to practice.
- 3:10Speaker 5: It was like whenever.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Our guy Will Wade went on the podcast and said
- 3:16Speaker 4: that they, you know, they've got eight or nine players
- 3:18Speaker 4: in the full like, I was like, okay, just because
- 3:22Speaker 4: it was getting late, wondering what was gonna happen. And look,
- 3:26Speaker 4: we you know, we're big Will Wade fans, and so
- 3:28Speaker 4: we're like, we're gonna trust him.
- 3:29Speaker 5: We're gonna trust Will. The clock was ticking.
- 3:31Speaker 4: So like when he said that, I'm like, Okay, they've
- 3:33Speaker 4: got in their idea, They've got a firm commitment from
- 3:37Speaker 4: you know, this amount of players, and so it's gonna
- 3:39Speaker 4: be a unique roster, to say the least. It's gonna
- 3:43Speaker 4: have a lot of international flair to it. It's gonna have,
- 3:46Speaker 4: you know, guys that have played in four different places,
- 3:49Speaker 4: and you you know, you do have some freshmen coming in,
- 3:51Speaker 4: which we talked about at the time. You know, sometimes
- 3:53Speaker 4: you lose sight of that because it's like, oh, freshmen
- 3:56Speaker 4: still play sports. I thought everybody comes out of the
- 3:58Speaker 4: portal when you're starting over there.
- 4:00Speaker 2: So maybe some guys that have been drafted. Who does
- 4:06Speaker 2: with these guys?
- 4:06Speaker 6: I mean, so right now, you got you have eight
- 4:10Speaker 6: guys right now, right so, I mean, you know he
- 4:14Speaker 6: was with the with the high school kids, you have
- 4:17Speaker 6: eight guys right now when he said and didn't he.
- 4:19Speaker 7: Come out and say that the roster won't be finalized
- 4:21Speaker 7: probably till augusta right, yeah, so we got some time
- 4:26Speaker 7: and we already have eight.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I had a schedule.
- 4:34Speaker 4: I would say again, just like we have with the
- 4:40Speaker 4: Pelicans conversation for the last couple of years, we talked
- 4:44Speaker 4: basketball on this show, and as soon as we do,
- 4:47Speaker 4: I can feel the volume getting turned down. I can
- 4:50Speaker 4: feel the person hitting the seak button. Yeah, because like
- 4:54Speaker 4: people just not excited about it because they're like, cool,
- 4:59Speaker 4: they beat this Eamon non con we know what it's
- 5:01Speaker 4: gonna look like. A conference player, Pelicans, Oh cool, they
- 5:04Speaker 4: started actual they started terrible this year, but if they
- 5:07Speaker 4: going to run, it's like, oh yeah, we know they'll
- 5:09Speaker 4: lose seven in a row coming up, and they would
- 5:12Speaker 4: just looking for consistent basketball that's good ish to start off.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Yeah, And that's and that's kind of a sad state
- 5:18Speaker 7: to be in when you're talking about for one of
- 5:23Speaker 7: an NBA team in the state and two LSU's men's
- 5:27Speaker 7: basketball team, And when you're talking about that, that is
- 5:30Speaker 7: you're absolutely right. People are looking to turn turn the
- 5:32Speaker 7: turn the dial left, or change it when you start
- 5:35Speaker 7: talking about these things because of the lack of excitement
- 5:37Speaker 7: and the lack of consistency. Now, we had a little
- 5:41Speaker 7: bit of excitement during the Will Wade Higher. That's like, Okay,
- 5:45Speaker 7: we got the juices flowing now, and I think a
- 5:47Speaker 7: lot of it's now, hey, let's just pause. He's been
- 5:49Speaker 7: here before, we understand, we know what to expect. We
- 5:52Speaker 7: trust that process. Now, I think a lot of excitement
- 5:55Speaker 7: kind of died down because there wasn't like that big
- 5:57Speaker 7: flash early you hit the portal and you get these big,
- 6:00Speaker 7: flashy guys like this is going to be a roster
- 6:03Speaker 7: that is the opposite of traditional, Like this is going
- 6:08Speaker 7: to be a roster like unlike you know, a lot
- 6:10Speaker 7: of college sports says, seen, it's going to be pieced
- 6:13Speaker 7: together with journeymen and people all over the world, and
- 6:19Speaker 7: we don't really know what that's going to look like,
- 6:22Speaker 7: but we have to.
- 6:24Speaker 5: You know, we were excited about the Will Wade.
- 6:26Speaker 7: Higher, and rightfully so, it was exciting from especially from
- 6:30Speaker 7: a year and a couple of years of it just
- 6:32Speaker 7: kind of being meh when you talk about men's basketball team.
- 6:36Speaker 7: So looking for some excitement, trust the process and we'll
- 6:41Speaker 7: see if Will Wade and his staff can earn that trust.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and when basketball is good here, certainly it's an
- 6:48Speaker 4: exciting time. We have seen what Kim Moulky's been able
- 6:51Speaker 4: to do with her team. We've seen the PMAC. If
- 6:55Speaker 4: you give them something to cheer about, if they are
- 6:57Speaker 4: going to be there and they're going to be loud,
- 6:59Speaker 4: they're going to be excited, and that's what they're looking for.
- 7:02Speaker 4: This can be a really good basketball town. When again
- 7:06Speaker 4: you're giving them something to be excited about. You can't
- 7:09Speaker 4: go out there. Look, money's hard to come by, and
- 7:12Speaker 4: you're not gonna spend Like my family loves going to
- 7:15Speaker 4: basketball games, we haven't been to a men's game in
- 7:17Speaker 4: a long time. Because, look, if we're gonna go out there,
- 7:20Speaker 4: we're gonna make the effort, gonna spend the money Like
- 7:22Speaker 4: a lot of families out there, We're gonna get a
- 7:23Speaker 4: couple of cold pops, a couple of Glizzies, right like,
- 7:26Speaker 4: we want it to be something that's exciting and not
- 7:29Speaker 4: eighty two to sixty for the visiting team. Right, So
- 7:34Speaker 4: people are ready to be excited about LSU basketball again.
- 7:37Speaker 4: And that's why I think so many people were excited
- 7:39Speaker 4: because the one guy that had them at a place
- 7:43Speaker 4: where they were not only exciting, they were truly contenders. Right,
- 7:48Speaker 4: you're talking about winning the sec you're talking about getting
- 7:50Speaker 4: to a Sweet sixteen. Situation was we'll wait. And so
- 7:54Speaker 4: the entire time that Will was gone, what were we
- 7:57Speaker 4: talking about trying to get back We'll wait? Nobody wanted
- 8:01Speaker 4: him gone outside of at the time the administration. And look,
- 8:04Speaker 4: I know, I get it, and I understand all the
- 8:06Speaker 4: things that happened, right, But now when things have changed
- 8:10Speaker 4: and you had an opportunity to get him back, that
- 8:13Speaker 4: got a lot of people back on LSU basketball. And
- 8:17Speaker 4: then you didn't have some players for a while, and
- 8:19Speaker 4: you're like, oh man, what's this?
- 8:21Speaker 2: Wait, hold up, what's this going to look like?
- 8:23Speaker 4: And then you know, slowly but surely, you're starting to
- 8:25Speaker 4: see more and more players. You're seeing a lot of
- 8:28Speaker 4: different players, a lot of different ways to get a
- 8:31Speaker 4: player to baton rouge. But it still does have way
- 8:34Speaker 4: more excitement, at least for me, I don't want to
- 8:36Speaker 4: speak for everybody in the room than I've had in
- 8:38Speaker 4: a long time for LSU basketball. And look, Matt McMahon
- 8:41Speaker 4: is a great man. Andre and I have talked about
- 8:43Speaker 4: that before. Man, you root for that guy. He tried
- 8:46Speaker 4: to do it the right way. He tried everything he could.
- 8:48Speaker 4: It just was not going to work here. But I
- 8:51Speaker 4: never got this excitement level that I have now with
- 8:54Speaker 4: Will way back.
- 8:54Speaker 8: Yeah, I think a lot of people are excited that
- 8:57Speaker 8: somebody that has taken us to that level of excitement
- 9:01Speaker 8: is back. But I have to be honest, Like the
- 9:05Speaker 8: recruiting this off season's unconventional to say the least. Like
- 9:09Speaker 8: you have a twenty six year old player from Tel
- 9:11Speaker 8: Aviv that you're trying to recruit over here, And I'm like,
- 9:15Speaker 8: I'd be lying if I said that I'm not a
- 9:17Speaker 8: little worried about that. Like I think that Will Wade
- 9:19Speaker 8: can recruit. I think that he's like good at evaluating talent,
- 9:23Speaker 8: but the fact that you have to go out of
- 9:26Speaker 8: the country and again recruit unconventionally. I know, we we
- 9:30Speaker 8: just got that guy from Utsa, But again, I'd be
- 9:34Speaker 8: lying if I said I'm not a little worried about
- 9:37Speaker 8: how the roster is going to come together, but it
- 9:40Speaker 8: is exciting that Will Wade is going to be in
- 9:42Speaker 8: the building and hopefully the recruiting does work out and
- 9:46Speaker 8: it does pan out and it we get back to
- 9:49Speaker 8: the PMAC to what it was when he was here before.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It certainly would plan a no no.
- 9:55Speaker 8: And that's the part that kind of concerns me about it,
- 9:57Speaker 8: is like, I I doubt that Will Wade went into
- 10:00Speaker 8: the off season was like I'm gonna have to go
- 10:02Speaker 8: look for people in Europe, you know, Like I do
- 10:05Speaker 8: think that this is a plan B.
- 10:07Speaker 7: But he also had to have known that it was
- 10:09Speaker 7: a possibility from a you know, trying to recruit guys
- 10:13Speaker 7: to a program that was not good. Yeah, that has
- 10:18Speaker 7: not been good in a while. You're probably gonna lose
- 10:21Speaker 7: most of your guys and you know it. You know
- 10:24Speaker 7: it doesn't you're gonna get negatively recruited against as a
- 10:28Speaker 7: head coach leaving a team like that. And I'm sure
- 10:30Speaker 7: these are all things that he that he knew new
- 10:33Speaker 7: going and hopefully they've been able to execute playing BCD,
- 10:37Speaker 7: whatever plan this was, execute it to some sort of level.
- 10:43Speaker 8: Yeah, And I do like the resourcefulness of it.
- 10:47Speaker 7: Like I'll say that, like only basketball gives you this opportunity,
- 10:50Speaker 7: Like if you don't hit in the portal and any
- 10:52Speaker 7: other like, you can't just go around the world.
- 10:54Speaker 8: Yeah, fine, players, right, unless you're a Buthune Cookman and
- 10:57Speaker 8: you got everybody from Puerto Rica.
- 11:00Speaker 2: That's true. That's a good point.
- 11:03Speaker 8: But yeah, I just that's that's my thoughts on it.
- 11:05Speaker 8: But I do trust Will Wade, and I do think
- 11:07Speaker 8: that will get somewhere eventually. I just think that people
- 11:11Speaker 8: should tamper their expectations for this season.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I think.
- 11:14Speaker 4: And Brandon just said it pretty well in the chat.
- 11:18Speaker 4: He said no one wanted way back more than me,
- 11:21Speaker 4: And I get what he's doing. It's smart, but get
- 11:23Speaker 4: me to the twenty seven to twenty season. Rooting for
- 11:26Speaker 4: grown men with families isn't what I want to do
- 11:28Speaker 4: with LSU.
- 11:28Speaker 2: It's just not the same exactly.
- 11:30Speaker 8: Like and like I said, I appreciate the resourcefulness of it,
- 11:34Speaker 8: but it's clearly not your planning.
- 11:36Speaker 7: Yeah, this season to me is not about being great. Yeah,
- 11:42Speaker 7: not about it being like really good. This season to
- 11:45Speaker 7: me is because of where the LSU fans and that's
- 11:48Speaker 7: just the that's just the way LSU is basketball can
- 11:52Speaker 7: be an afterthought that everybody can live with, and it
- 11:55Speaker 7: has been now. It can be at the top of
- 11:59Speaker 7: everybody's mind, and it can be awesome, and it can
- 12:01Speaker 7: be exciting. And it was for a second there with
- 12:04Speaker 7: with the Will Wade hired, and he kind of earned
- 12:06Speaker 7: that excitement for it with LSU fans because of his history.
- 12:10Speaker 7: But we can't take away that he has not been
- 12:12Speaker 7: there and things are different, things have changed. His goal
- 12:16Speaker 7: is number one goal. You remember the scene from from
- 12:19Speaker 7: Gladiator when Prox and mootells Maximus win the crowd. Yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 7: this year, it's win the crowd, right, Win the crowd,
- 12:27Speaker 7: get them behind. You do have something exciting, whether that
- 12:31Speaker 7: is you get it thrown out of a couple of
- 12:33Speaker 7: games because you're back in your guy like it's something
- 12:36Speaker 7: has to flat how the p MAC used to be
- 12:39Speaker 7: rocking with like people dressed up as Will Wade and.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Like like that. That needs to start happening.
- 12:46Speaker 7: Win the crowd this year, right, Yeah, that is that's
- 12:49Speaker 7: the number one goal.
- 12:50Speaker 8: This is like the foundation year, like you set the foundation,
- 12:54Speaker 8: you have.
- 12:55Speaker 7: Like the because I know what you've done in the past, right,
- 12:58Speaker 7: and it was great I'm gonna trust you, but I
- 13:02Speaker 7: think the attention span is going to be short.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Yeah, go go nine and nine in conference play, I'm
- 13:09Speaker 4: good with and beat beat Arkansas, Alabama or Florida like
- 13:13Speaker 4: one of those.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Upset something like that.
- 13:16Speaker 6: But we were talking about the unconventional nature of everything.
- 13:19Speaker 6: I have seen this brought up. This is not my
- 13:21Speaker 6: talking point. I've seen a lot of people bring this
- 13:23Speaker 6: up there, like, oh, well, Illinois did it last year.
- 13:25Speaker 6: They had a lot, they brought in a lot of
- 13:27Speaker 6: European kids, and they were a really good seed in
- 13:29Speaker 6: the NCAA Tournament.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I understand that.
- 13:32Speaker 6: But the fact that you could point to one school
- 13:34Speaker 6: who shows how big of an outlier it is.
- 13:35Speaker 2: So it's like it's worked before.
- 13:37Speaker 6: I don't think you can consistently rely on it, so
- 13:39Speaker 6: like there's a blueprint for it.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Like again, they had they had a.
- 13:43Speaker 6: Ton of page Storyakovic's son was actually one of those,
- 13:47Speaker 6: one of those players for Illinois last year. But again,
- 13:51Speaker 6: the fact that you could point to the fact that
- 13:53Speaker 6: you could point to one or two teams that have
- 13:55Speaker 6: done the shows, just how rare it is now if
- 13:57Speaker 6: it works again, we we've seen good results from Illinois
- 13:59Speaker 6: it's just it's it's a wait and see for me
- 14:02Speaker 6: for sure. But again, nine and nine in conference and then,
- 14:05Speaker 6: like Jake said, pulling upset or two that nobody's expecting,
- 14:08Speaker 6: give me something like.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Don't get me two to three wins in the SEC
- 14:12Speaker 2: like we've seen the past two seasons.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Yeah, something, And I think, just don't be three and
- 14:18Speaker 4: fifteen again. You can lose the crowd, you can't.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely definitely.
- 14:23Speaker 8: I think that LSU fans have shown that they have
- 14:26Speaker 8: a very very low tolerance for losing because.
- 14:29Speaker 2: They're okay yeah with losing basketball. Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 7: I'm not speaking for everybody. I'm just saying the average
- 14:35Speaker 7: fan if you put them all together, and we've shown it,
- 14:37Speaker 7: like because we're so good at well traditionally, yeah, in
- 14:40Speaker 7: other years, we're so good at everything else, right that
- 14:43Speaker 7: we're okay with that. And that's that's how that's why
- 14:46Speaker 7: LSU's such a special place, right, That's why the ls
- 14:50Speaker 7: Athletic Department is such a special place, because like, where
- 14:53Speaker 7: else can you just be okay with one of your
- 14:55Speaker 7: main sports not being good? Yeah, and we want it
- 14:59Speaker 7: to be good.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I want to be in that p MAC.
- 15:02Speaker 7: I want to be excited to you know, take the
- 15:04Speaker 7: family and do all that and come on the.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Show and Cee.
- 15:10Speaker 6: You talk about like you could lose the crowd, and
- 15:12Speaker 6: you know, it's weird to say with will Wade because like,
- 15:14Speaker 6: you know, everybody wanted him back. He's got such a
- 15:16Speaker 6: big support system. But you're right because I think that
- 15:18Speaker 6: makes it more likely. Yeah, because think think about what
- 15:22Speaker 6: what the national media did. Right, It's like, you hired Lane,
- 15:24Speaker 6: people were mad about that. You bring in Will Wade,
- 15:27Speaker 6: It's like, oh, he left after a year, n C State,
- 15:29Speaker 6: You're gonna bring you back after this, this and this,
- 15:31Speaker 6: and your fans might sit back and be like, we
- 15:33Speaker 6: went through all that for this, right, At some point
- 15:36Speaker 6: it's like what up a second? So no, you're you're
- 15:38Speaker 6: absolutely right, like this is this is a win the
- 15:40Speaker 6: crowd year.
- 15:41Speaker 5: You'll have a way longer leash than Lane though, oh.
- 15:43Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, No. Lane's leash is very.
- 15:49Speaker 7: Short, like the roster commitments.
- 15:54Speaker 8: Of the you're out here doing Vanity Fair articles, starting drama.
- 15:58Speaker 7: But that's the that's the that speaks at the same point,
- 16:01Speaker 7: he'll have a longer leash because people just don't care
- 16:03Speaker 7: as much if you're bad.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Right, I don't know that. There's many things that people
- 16:08Speaker 5: care more about in Collegeiza.
- 16:09Speaker 7: No, in exactly, And that's kind of the point. That's why,
- 16:13Speaker 7: that's why it kind of flies under the radar. And yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 7: LSU fans can if it's bad, can take it or
- 16:19Speaker 7: leave it.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Now.
- 16:19Speaker 7: We want to take it all. So yeah, Will Wade,
- 16:25Speaker 7: we're excited for you. We're super pumped your back. Win
- 16:28Speaker 7: the crowd.
- 16:31Speaker 8: He will for a while.
- 16:32Speaker 4: If they go, if they go nine to nine and
- 16:34Speaker 4: they beat one of those teams that I mentioned I
- 16:36Speaker 4: threw out there, that's winning the crowd this year.
- 16:38Speaker 2: That's all we asked for this past year.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Yeah, because remember, I mean McMahon had a down yere
- 16:42Speaker 6: to a bad year two years ago and you were like,
- 16:44Speaker 6: what can he do to kind of get back at
- 16:45Speaker 6: the good graces? And we said five hundred record in
- 16:47Speaker 6: seasy play. Yeah, didn't touch that.

- 19:30Speaker 5: She wanted you to wait.
- 19:32Speaker 9: Let me tell your story. In my situation, I was
- 19:34Speaker 9: talking to this girl from the US nation.
- 19:37Speaker 2: The way that I met was on tour on that
- 19:39Speaker 2: concept you had long hair.
- 19:41Speaker 3: And a short min off the bench with Jacob Hester
- 19:44Speaker 3: and Matt Flynn, presented by Community Steel.

- 19:52Speaker 9: some question to see if you how your.
- 19:53Speaker 5: Proof as all right?
- 19:55Speaker 4: Welcome back in OTB here live from the Raising Kanes Studio.
- 20:01Speaker 4: As today's music theme, it's always eighties. Flynn's got the
- 20:07Speaker 4: ox scord. The other day I had the ox scord.
- 20:13Speaker 4: My uh think you were here. My my theme was
- 20:15Speaker 4: jeep with the top off. Of course I know what
- 20:18Speaker 4: that's all about. Now thanks to buy you Automotive, Buy
- 20:21Speaker 4: you Automotive dot com. It's not just jeeps now, it
- 20:23Speaker 4: certainly is Jeeps, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge Ram they got it
- 20:27Speaker 4: all over there. Black Widow jeeps, they got those two.
- 20:30Speaker 5: Those are pretty cool.
- 20:31Speaker 4: You like just pushing a button and having the whole
- 20:33Speaker 4: top come off. I do have fun put the ox
- 20:38Speaker 4: scord on, just ride, hang out. Would you say that
- 20:42Speaker 4: they got what you need more than enough? I'd say
- 20:46Speaker 4: they're strong and quite strong. Like your portfolio. Go to
- 20:51Speaker 4: buy you Automotive dot com, buye you Automotive dot Com, Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram.
- 20:57Speaker 4: They got a little bit of everything. Check out the
- 20:58Speaker 4: Black Widows coages. You can even buy mine that I'm
- 21:02Speaker 4: currently driving around. It's available. I love every of it.
- 21:07Speaker 7: What do you do with the like to swim the
- 21:10Speaker 7: tops down on the jeep? How do you secure the
- 21:12Speaker 7: rubber duckies?
- 21:13Speaker 5: You don't have it? That's a fair question. It's a
- 21:17Speaker 5: fair question for others.
- 21:18Speaker 8: So I think about that with like stuff in your car,
- 21:21Speaker 8: Like whenever I see jeeps park somewhere and they have
- 21:23Speaker 8: the top and their doors off, I'm like, do you
- 21:25Speaker 8: just not keep anything in here?
- 21:27Speaker 5: Or yeah the doors off?
- 21:30Speaker 8: Yeah, you gotta have like no crap in your car.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't have like a piece of paper in
- 21:34Speaker 4: your car or like like move around and then eventually go.
- 21:39Speaker 8: Out or anything like headphones or something you know, or
- 21:41Speaker 8: like a backpack, Like that's fine. But even like if
- 21:45Speaker 8: it's parked somewhere, you don't think somebody's gonna come steal it.
- 21:49Speaker 8: Like I don't know. I feel like i'd be.
- 21:51Speaker 4: The Black Widow is like all of like putting the
- 21:56Speaker 4: top back on and off and like the actual shell
- 21:58Speaker 4: of it because it's just oh, it just comes on,
- 22:01Speaker 4: comes off so I can park and close it and
- 22:03Speaker 4: everything's interesting.
- 22:05Speaker 7: I agree, Like I'm not a very person like sometimes
- 22:09Speaker 7: like if I roll the window down and one of
- 22:11Speaker 7: my children roll down in the back seat, like I'm
- 22:14Speaker 7: like playing you know, you go to the Carnivo you
- 22:15Speaker 7: have all the dollar bills in that air tube, Like
- 22:18Speaker 7: I'm like playing that game, trying to keep paper from
- 22:20Speaker 7: blowing out the window.
- 22:22Speaker 6: Speaking of the duck, I had to do AFR for
- 22:25Speaker 6: Paul on Friday and MOVESO stop me and goes, hey,
- 22:27Speaker 6: quick question, what's this?
- 22:28Speaker 2: What's this duck? Right here?
- 22:29Speaker 6: He goes, this has to be an OTV thing. I
- 22:31Speaker 6: was like, well, Jake has a jeep and uh Matt
- 22:33Speaker 6: gave it to him. He's like, why isn't it in
- 22:35Speaker 6: Jakes jeep? But I was like, why do you think?
- 22:38Speaker 8: But also he tried to pawn it off on me,
- 22:41Speaker 8: I'm not doing it.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm so shook by.
- 22:44Speaker 8: Sometimes I see a Cherokee that has ducks on it
- 22:46Speaker 8: and I'm like, I really thought this was a thing.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Yeah, cherokees with it.
- 22:50Speaker 7: And if you were driving around right now and you
- 22:53Speaker 7: do have ducks, okay, respect.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Respect, but why live your life, live your truths? And
- 23:00Speaker 2: could you text us a picture of them?
- 23:01Speaker 10: Oh?
- 23:01Speaker 8: Yeah, Texas a picture picture.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Of your ducks. If you have a like you.
- 23:05Speaker 8: Tell me why you have them on there?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:07Speaker 4: I know plenty of people that I know listen daily, Well,
- 23:12Speaker 4: a lot of people have them, that have them.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I would say.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Two, I want to know where it started, when it started,
- 23:20Speaker 4: why it started, and maybe we'll live you a different.
- 23:24Speaker 7: Would you say of people that own jeep wranglers, would
- 23:28Speaker 7: you say the over under of people that have ducks
- 23:31Speaker 7: on them is ninety percent?
- 23:32Speaker 2: No? Six seventy?
- 23:35Speaker 8: Would seventy?
- 23:37Speaker 5: I was thinking sixty or seven?
- 23:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 7: I feel like you're hard pressed to find a jeep
- 23:41Speaker 7: Cherokee without a duck on it jep dake wrangler.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Excuse me, uh if one of the parking lot, Yeah,
- 23:49Speaker 4: I got it, because you're too No, because I don't
- 23:53Speaker 4: rubber duckies or what Harlowe plays with in the bathtub
- 23:56Speaker 4: drink drinke go do rubber duckies?
- 24:00Speaker 5: Would you do rubber duckies?
- 24:02Speaker 8: No, he's so anti rubber.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Ducky, but he's like kind of a little over the top.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Would you you are too?
- 24:07Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 24:08Speaker 2: Would you do so over the top with it?
- 24:09Speaker 7: If my, if my you brought me if I had
- 24:12Speaker 7: a jeep wrangler, am i am? My little girls wanted
- 24:15Speaker 7: to put a duck on it, which they would probably, Yeah,
- 24:18Speaker 7: I would put a duck on there.
- 24:23Speaker 2: The duck from it came from you.
- 24:26Speaker 8: Yeah, jeep more like sheeple the same reason everybody had
- 24:29Speaker 8: to have an elf on the shelf. Okay, okay, just
- 24:32Speaker 8: following a trend. Anybody that would wear a neckrell in
- 24:34Speaker 8: football doesn't have ducks in their jeep.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Correct.
- 24:39Speaker 8: This is a listener from Arkansas. Shout out. Listen every
- 24:42Speaker 8: day up here in northwest Arkansas over by the Boston Mountains.
- 24:46Speaker 4: I love those that's out there, that's up there, northwest
- 24:51Speaker 4: Boston Mountains.
- 24:52Speaker 8: The Boston Mountains are an Arkansas.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Day.
- 24:57Speaker 8: Okay. So I asked your friend, Yeah, they did it.
- 25:01Speaker 8: I asked your friend why people put rubber ducks on
- 25:04Speaker 8: their jeep. It's a small, friendly gesture, kind of like
- 25:08Speaker 8: saying nice jeep, without needing to be there in person.
- 25:11Speaker 8: It began around twenty twenty. I feel like it was
- 25:13Speaker 8: before twenty twenty. Oh yeah, so never mind.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I'm not taking when I was in college in like
- 25:18Speaker 2: twenty fifteen. I feel like it was when it goes.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I remember seeing a lot of ducks with masks on.
- 25:23Speaker 8: Yeah. Oh that's funny. That's so dumb.
- 25:27Speaker 2: What oh yeah, you gotta be protected to you, guys, I.
- 25:33Speaker 8: Mean O six Wrangler here, no ducks got to O
- 25:37Speaker 8: six Wrangler. Hell, no ducks got to go.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:41Speaker 8: Anybody that owned the jeep Wrangler before two thousand and
- 25:43Speaker 8: five doesn't have ducks, So do stupid Oh.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Yeah, line for you. I don't like, I don't even
- 25:50Speaker 4: know why. I'm just not doing it.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Did we ever figure out what where it started?
- 25:55Speaker 8: No, tyler, because this is trying to tell me twenty twenty,
- 25:59Speaker 8: and I just don't believe that.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Okay, here we go the jeep ducking. That's the what
- 26:03Speaker 2: jeep ducking?
- 26:04Speaker 4: I cruises du carnival cruises. They also give out rubber duck.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Like there's a group of people like the carnival cruise
- 26:13Speaker 4: people they give out rubber duckies.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Harlow had like seventy two of them by.
- 26:17Speaker 7: The end of our cruise. Okay, so this started. Oh
- 26:21Speaker 7: my god, this is even worse. This is even worse
- 26:23Speaker 7: than I thought.
- 26:25Speaker 5: In Tyler, Texas.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Started in Canada.
- 26:27Speaker 7: Oh that makes much the trend duck duck.
- 26:33Speaker 4: You think now that I'm ever putting a duck. I
- 26:35Speaker 4: don't care if Harlow made the duck herself. I don't
- 26:38Speaker 4: care if she put it in a mold with rubber.
- 26:40Speaker 4: It ain't going on the jeep. It was made in Canada.
- 26:43Speaker 7: This trend started in Ontario, Canada, in the summer of
- 26:47Speaker 7: twenty twenty a jeep owner named Alison Parliament.
- 26:51Speaker 2: I still think it was before twenty twenty, so she.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Placed a rubber duck on a stranger's jeep to spread
- 26:55Speaker 7: a little joy and kindness.
- 27:00Speaker 6: I'm glad I wasn't the first one, because if somebody
- 27:02Speaker 6: leaves a random duck on my jeep, I'm like, what
- 27:05Speaker 6: the hell are you doing?
- 27:06Speaker 7: Tradition involves leaving a rubber duck on another jeep, usually
- 27:09Speaker 7: on the door handle or driver's side mirror, with a
- 27:11Speaker 7: kind note. The recipient then typically places the duck on
- 27:14Speaker 7: their dashboard as a badge of honor, and I get
- 27:18Speaker 7: I try to spread a little joy and love to
- 27:20Speaker 7: Jacob that one day by giving him a duck.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 27:24Speaker 8: I don't think that's the.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Oh sure was. There's a Wikipedia page called jeep ducking.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Don't click that. Don't click that, mat, go to Google images.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Check it out, asking if I want to turn off
- 27:40Speaker 2: the filter you put.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Your VP and on before you before you click that site.
- 27:46Speaker 2: We can dive into it after the show.
- 27:49Speaker 7: Oh boy, all right, well there we go the ducks.
- 27:53Speaker 7: What the duck?
- 27:55Speaker 6: Rubber ducks just scream I'm from College Station Texas.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Or Canada, Canada. Canada tracks too.
- 28:08Speaker 8: Well, we spend too much time on ducks.
- 28:11Speaker 2: It's Fun's fault. I was gonna talk about Aaron Rodgers
- 28:14Speaker 2: coming back.
- 28:15Speaker 7: Well, Jake's all mad about how I would even associate
- 28:19Speaker 7: his name with a rubber ducky, So he had to
- 28:21Speaker 7: let the people know by raising his voice. Did I
- 28:27Speaker 7: saying look out.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I'm Jake?
- 28:30Speaker 2: That's literally when I was just chuckling up.
- 28:35Speaker 11: No rubber duckies, that's spot home. I don't know, I
- 28:40Speaker 11: tell you pretty much. It is that was not Jake
- 28:45Speaker 11: was acting like Jake.

- 32:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 32:56Speaker 7: I could see you completely raging out if there's a

- 36:55Speaker 2: So this is according to Google. AI.
- 36:59Speaker 7: Okay, a hot dog is called a glizzy because obviously
- 37:02Speaker 7: the slang term originated as Washington d. C. Street slang
- 37:06Speaker 7: for a glock handgun. Because the extended magazine of a
- 37:09Speaker 7: pistol shares a similar size and elongated shape with a
- 37:13Speaker 7: hot dog. That's exactly the thing that I would that
- 37:16Speaker 7: I would compare to the shape of a hot dog.
- 37:18Speaker 5: For sure.
- 37:19Speaker 2: The name was eventually applied to the sausage tree.

- 43:16Speaker 6: well I got you here.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I'm assuming this is an o TV how I got

- 43:37Speaker 2: Yesterday, good do you think one of this Marler? Is it?
- 43:43Speaker 2: Is it?
- 43:43Speaker 5: Take it away?
- 43:44Speaker 8: I think that he does. He does suck some of
- 43:46Speaker 8: it out of us because he needs it too.

- 43:51Speaker 4: Hashtag OTB mail bag went to be Arcade last weekend
- 43:53Speaker 4: and a couple got into a fight and resulted in
- 43:57Speaker 4: our beers being spilt. Do you have them pay for
- 44:01Speaker 4: your beers or let it go? Since it was a
- 44:02Speaker 4: physical altercation, they should buy some beers.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they should bite somebody got in a fight and
- 44:08Speaker 2: knocked your beer.
- 44:09Speaker 6: Well you kind of you kind of know what you're
- 44:10Speaker 6: getting into going to a bar, though, so you do.
- 44:13Speaker 8: But I need to tell you all about the brawl
- 44:15Speaker 8: at my grandparents' bar this past Oh, my aunt and
- 44:18Speaker 8: uncle were involved, so good.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, okay.
- 44:24Speaker 8: So you know when you go to a bar and
- 44:28Speaker 8: it's like a single restroom or whatever, and there's always
- 44:30Speaker 8: like somebody that's drunk that's like banging on the door
- 44:33Speaker 8: trying to get in. So that my uncle was in
- 44:35Speaker 8: the bathroom and somebody was doing that to him, and
- 44:38Speaker 8: he's not somebody who's going to like fight, right, My
- 44:41Speaker 8: uncle's not like that. So this guy, the guy that
- 44:45Speaker 8: was like knocking on the door, starts like pushing him
- 44:48Speaker 8: and whatever. So they start going at it, and my
- 44:50Speaker 8: mom's like telling me the story. She's like, I didn't
- 44:54Speaker 8: know James was that strong. She said that he was
- 44:57Speaker 8: taking on two dudes, not a scratch on him, and
- 45:00Speaker 8: the guys were like bleeding everywhere, and my uncle's just
- 45:04Speaker 8: like knocking him down and then one of them was
- 45:07Speaker 8: on the ground. So then my aunt goes and starts like,
- 45:13Speaker 8: this makes my family sound so trashy, but I promise
- 45:16Speaker 8: you they're not. But it was just like so funny.
- 45:20Speaker 5: Oh love it.
- 45:20Speaker 2: We don't condone bar fight, No, we don't. If we do,
- 45:25Speaker 2: just win.
