Most of life is not as planned as we pretend.

That may be one of the biggest lies we teach young people.

We tell them:

Get the degree.

Get the job.

Make the money.

Become happy.

It sounds clean.

It sounds responsible.

It sounds like life is a straight line.

But then you actually talk to people.

Ask them how they got their first job.

Ask them why they changed careers.

Ask them why they moved cities.

Ask them why they married that person.

Ask them why they started that business, learned that skill, or ended up doing something they never planned to do.
