Transcript
- 0:06Hello, what's your least favorite scary movie, man?
- 0:11You had a moose. Welcome to What's your least
- 0:14favorite scary movie? The podcast where we talk about
- 0:17the good, the bad, the ugly and the absurd And all of our.
- 0:19Favorites and least. Favorite scary movies?
- 0:21Because we believe every horror movie rightfully has its fan
- 0:23base. Even if we don't always get it.
- 0:25My name is Travis. My name is Jesse.
- 0:27And welcome back to our Prom Month coverage, everybody.
- 0:30We have in store for you guys Another sequel.
- 0:34Yes, and this is a sequel to a movie that we had already talked
- 0:37about once before on the show, which.
- 0:38Is not Prom related, unlike last week's sequel.
- 0:41Yes, but don't worry, this one is very much a Prom movie and
- 0:45that movie is Cabin Fever 2 Spring Fever.
- 0:49Yes. So before we get into all of
- 0:53that, Jesse, do you have anything that you would like to
- 0:56announce? I do, in fact, because we did a
- 0:58very interesting double feature. And I think you'll see some of
- 1:01this confusion coming out between this episode and the
- 1:05episode I'm about to plug, which is where we watched witchcraft
- 1:09followed by Gavin Fever too, because we covered witchcraft
- 1:12for R2B or Not to Be this month. And that was just go check out
- 1:17the movie, check out the episode.
- 1:19It's a lot of fun. It's of the Muniz era.
- 1:22We enjoy it. Yeah, it was a fun little time.
- 1:24It was a nice little surprise. Yeah.
- 1:26It caught us both off guard, I think.
- 1:28Definitely. So OK, I have our poll results
- 1:32for last week's movie, which was Hello Mary Lou, Prom Night 2.
- 1:37And for Prom Month, we're just asking everybody to choose your
- 1:40prom date. Yeah, so who are you taking to
- 1:42prom? The four options from that movie
- 1:46were Vicky, Mary Lou, Billy, or Craig.
- 1:50OK, so over on Instagram, nobody's taking Vicky.
- 1:55Wow. 78% are taking Mary Lou. OK.
- 1:58What are y'all thinking? She was a terrible prom date?
- 2:02Billy gets 11% and Craig gets 11%.
- 2:06Meanwhile, over on Twitter, 20% with Vicki, 80% Mary Lou and
- 2:13nobody getting Billy or Craig out of that bunch there.
- 2:19I would personally take Vicki because she seemed like she
- 2:21would be a fun time. Mary Lou was terrible.
- 2:24She cheats on you at your prom and it's all about just winning
- 2:29the prom queen. She doesn't really care about,
- 2:31you know, the day. It's all about who you go home
- 2:33with, according to her. I think I'd go with Craig
- 2:36because we could ride up on his motorcycle and we could stop for
- 2:39coffee on the way and nobody's gonna lecture each other about
- 2:42what we put in our coffee and. That's true.
- 2:44So I think we'd have a good time.
- 2:46All right. That's that.
- 2:47Yay. All right, so let's talk about
- 2:49cabin fever. Too so excited to talk about
- 2:54this. Actually, I'm very I've been
- 2:56dying to talk to you about it all day.
- 2:57So I'm glad. For these right here, we don't
- 3:01really like to talk about it until like we save our
- 3:04conversations for the show that way.
- 3:05It's fresh and organic. Yeah, that way we can react to
- 3:08what the other one's saying. And Cabin Cabin Fever Two was
- 3:12the first time. Watch for us both.
- 3:13Yes, so it was interesting. So this is a brand new
- 3:16experience, so let's get started.
- 3:18Cabin Fever 2 Spring Fever released or it premiered August
- 3:2321st, 2009 at the Fantasy Film Fest.
- 3:26OK, and then it had it's at wide release February 16th, 2010 on
- 3:31DVD. So this was straight to DVD.
- 3:34Poor shame. We watched it on Max, which is
- 3:37the only place you can watch it if you want to stream it.
- 3:39However, if you do want to rent it, you can do Amazon, Apple,
- 3:43YouTube or Fandango at home you've got.
- 3:45The premium versions of like Hulu or Prime or YouTube TV, You
- 3:50can watch it. There it was.
- 3:51On Starz, I think is what it was, yeah.
- 3:53So if you've got the more premium versions, if you're
- 3:55already paying out that big money, don't rent it.
- 3:58No, Look it for it on one of those.
- 4:00Do your research, do your homework.
- 4:02All right, so this was written by Ty West and Randy Perlstein,
- 4:07who did the story and Joshua Malkin did the screenplay.
- 4:11Directed by Ty West. Music by Ryan Shore.
- 4:14Special effects makeup done by Ozzie Alvarez and Christian
- 4:18Beckman with the help of quantum creation effects.
- 4:21Ozzie Alvarez. That name sounds similar to me.
- 4:24You might be thinking of Ozzie Albies.
- 4:26No, that's not who I'm thinking of.
- 4:28OK, I don't know. I didn't really do any digging
- 4:31to see if they had done anything else.
- 4:32They did amazing work in this. Movie, yeah.
- 4:34And they had a lot they had to do.
- 4:36Yeah, so I do give them credit because they did a great job,
- 4:40all right? Starring Noah Segan as John,
- 4:44Alexi Wasser as Cassie, Rusty Kelly as Alex, Giuseppe Andrews
- 4:49as Deputy Winston and Michael Bowen as Principal Sinclair,
- 4:54with writer Strong reprising his role temporarily, briefly,
- 4:58briefly. All right, time for our favorite
- 5:02game on the show. Budget oh bug Ted.
- 5:07And I do have the budget. So Jesse, what do you think it
- 5:09is? I think that this is probably
- 5:12bug Ted considering it went straight to DVDI think it's not
- 5:15like. I think it's at least a million,
- 5:18but I don't think that it's like you know, over 10 million just
- 5:22because it, it didn't have like a theatrical release or
- 5:24anything. OK, well you might be surprised
- 5:26it had five million OK to work with here.
- 5:30Don't have a opening box office since it's straight to DVD, but
- 5:33I do have the estimated DVD home media sales.
- 5:37OK. Which was 714,000.
- 5:39OK, so not terrible, pretty good.
- 5:42IMDBE I'm going to go ahead and say rude 4.3.
- 5:46What the fuck? Harrison Yeah.
- 5:49It's that's kind of surprised me.
- 5:52And I think a lot of the reaction to this movie in
- 5:55general has been kind of surprising to me because I
- 5:57haven't really looked into it until after we watched it and
- 6:00after doing some research. This doesn't seem to be a very
- 6:02popular movie. I know.
- 6:05All right, so my. Feelings are already hurting.
- 6:08I know I got a theme. OK.
- 6:11Not quite as weirdly specific as yours was on our TV or not to
- 6:14be. I didn't.
- 6:15I didn't mean. I mean, for it to work out that
- 6:18way, I just saw all those posters and I was like, well,
- 6:20this is a very 2000 thing, so let's go with it.
- 6:23Yeah, she go watch the episode for that.
- 6:26I'm not gonna tell you. You gotta you gotta listen.
- 6:28It was my most specific theme so far.
- 6:30Yeah, it was impressive. Honestly, I just did like one
- 6:33that I've done before, which always works and I feel is
- 6:35always interesting, is direct to DVD horror sequels, which was a
- 6:41dying art at this point in time where you're getting right to
- 6:45when streaming was building steam.
- 6:47I feel like we're coming back to a point of like we're we're kind
- 6:50of doing an inverse right now where it's like the originals
- 6:53were direct to DVD and now we're getting like the two theater
- 6:56sequel era. Yeah, you know what?
- 6:58You're right. Yeah, we got like Terrifier 2,
- 7:01and there's a few other examples that I can't think of off the
- 7:06top of my head right now, but I feel like we're seeing a
- 7:08resurgence of that. Just trust me.
- 7:09Just trust me, guys. Trust me.
- 7:11Trust me. Look into it dude.
- 7:14Just gotta Google it bro. Google it bro.
- 7:17OK, so the first movie I have is Children of the Corn.
- 7:22Which? Which one?
- 7:23It's a remake. How many?
- 7:26How many times are they gonna teach us this?
- 7:28Lesson, old man. Oh no.
- 7:30Oh my God, how many times does this movie been remade now?
- 7:33How many sequels to this movie are there?
- 7:35I saw this so many it looked like a.
- 7:38How much corn is in a field? That's how many movies exist in
- 7:41this franchise. It's insane.
- 7:43Yeah. So this release September 26th
- 7:462009 with a $2 million budget don't have a gross, but the IMDb
- 7:53is 3.8. I didn't even know this existed.
- 7:57Dude, you should know better at this point.
- 8:00Just if you can conceptualize any form of a Children of the
- 8:04Corn sequel, it probably exists out there.
- 8:06OK? It's like Murphy's Law.
- 8:07Is that the Is that the law? I don't.
- 8:09Know Murphy's Law is anything that can go wrong.
- 8:11Well, I think. You're maybe that's?
- 8:14Perfect. I think you're thinking of what
- 8:16is it like Rule 64 or whatever for if a porn.
- 8:19Rule 34 Rule 31. 31 something I don't know what.
- 8:22It's a number where like if a porn of something can be thought
- 8:25of, it exists. Already, yeah.
- 8:27Whatever you think of, there is a porn isn't.
- 8:29That called Rule 69. No, it's not rule 69.
- 8:32No, I'm saying why isn't it called that?
- 8:34Oh, you know. If you're going to call it a
- 8:35number. They didn't think too hard about
- 8:38it. That's a shame.
- 8:39People. OK, second movie, The Descent,
- 8:43Part 2. OK, I'm I've never seen it, but
- 8:48I think like the original British ending was beautiful and
- 8:53the American version is less beautiful, and then they used it
- 8:57to make a sequel for money. Yeah, I I feel like I might have
- 9:03seen this all a long time ago, but I can't tell you anything
- 9:06about. It.
- 9:07I think we've watched like the opening of it together before,
- 9:10but then that's about it. Yeah, I it.
- 9:12Just doesn't hit us hard, no. I don't know.
- 9:15I I'd be willing to give it a shot.
- 9:17We've had requests from listeners out there that want us
- 9:21to cover the first one. So I would love to cover the The
- 9:24Descent. It's one of those movies that
- 9:25makes me like, viscerally uncomfortable.
- 9:27But I do think it would be a good one for us to talk about
- 9:29for sure. We'll check that out in the
- 9:31coming months. Stay tuned.
- 9:33But release for that The second one came out October 14th, 2009.
- 9:39I don't have the budget, but weirdly enough I have what it
- 9:41gross which was $7,000,000 for a straight to DVD movie, which is
- 9:45insane. God.
- 9:46Damn, it's. Pretty, pretty good.
- 9:50Pretty, pretty good. IMDb also pretty pretty good 5.7
- 9:54Wow. So people like the descent too.
- 9:56It must be a strong follow up. OK I.
- 10:00Guess Don't knock it till you try it.
- 10:02You know that can happen. Fine.
- 10:04I guess we'll watch it. OK, yeah.
- 10:05I'm just saying there's there's a lot of movies out there where
- 10:08I'm like, really? Would a sequel really do well?
- 10:11And then I'm like, damn. That's.
- 10:12You know what, though? Pretty good.
- 10:13I was not optimistic about cabin fever too.
- 10:17And I. Yeah, exactly.
- 10:20Yeah. Okay.
- 10:22The final movie, Vacancy 2. The first cut don't make sense.
- 10:28Is it a prequel? I don't know, Maybe.
- 10:31I've never seen it. I've seen the first vacancy.
- 10:34Doesn't I have Luke Wilson? Okay.
- 10:36Yep. I'm glad I didn't make that up.
- 10:37I feel like I know I've seen the first one and I don't.
- 10:41Great. I don't know if I've just seen
- 10:42it multiple times or if I've also seen the sequel.
- 10:45I could be wrong. There's something that is
- 10:48telling me that Gary Oldman is in the first one.
- 10:52I don't know if that's true. You want.
- 10:54IMDb Yeah, we're going to IMDb this.
- 10:56Year We're editing on this one. Yeah, we can take as much time
- 10:59as we want. I can say poo, poo pee, pee PPP.
- 11:03And that's, you know. I'm not cutting, OK?
- 11:10We got Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson.
- 11:12Those are some big names. Wow.
- 11:14Wow. Luke Wilson.
- 11:16What is it Luke Wilson could do Zoolander own Wilson couldn't do
- 11:20vacancy. OK, I've no there's no way.
- 11:26Gary. There's no way Gary Oldman is
- 11:29now. But there's a Gary Wayne.
- 11:31Carrie Wayne Moore. No.
- 11:33There's no. Must be who I confused.
- 11:34Must be. I saw his face like that was
- 11:37like a Gary, no. OK, well either way that
- 11:41released January 20th 2009 $3 million budget don't have it.
- 11:46Gross IMDb 4.9. OK.
- 11:50One tag on just fine, just one tag on.
- 11:54This time it's spreading. I don't know, I I kind of like
- 11:59it because like spring fever, this time it's spreading like,
- 12:02you know, it's spreading the fever.
- 12:03Like, you know, like it's prom. Like, you know, we're spreading
- 12:06prom like spring fever to everybody.
- 12:08Except this time it's actually like a flesh eating disease.
- 12:12I kind of like it. I.
- 12:12Think you just made the tagline worse with all of that?
- 12:15I made it better in my mind. Yeah, that.
- 12:17That word salad was full of listeria.
- 12:21You're welcome, Ty. And don't worry about it, OK, so
- 12:26on the phone facts, I don't have a lot of variation with this,
- 12:30but I've got something interesting that went down with
- 12:33this thing. Behind the scenes, I'm kind of
- 12:35curious because when I was, this was one of those movies where I
- 12:38was obsessively on IMDb throughout, because all of the
- 12:41people looked familiar and I saw briefly a glimpse of something
- 12:46in the trivia that I stopped reading because I figured you
- 12:50were gonna be talking. That's all you're gonna be
- 12:51talking about. It's the fact that Ty W hates
- 12:53it. Mm hmm.
- 12:54Yeah. OK, well First off, my first
- 12:56thing is just it wrapped filming in 2007, so they sat on this
- 12:59thing for two years. They probably needed all that
- 13:01time to do the animation at the beginning and end.
- 13:04That OK, well look, I'm from this era.
- 13:07I was doing those types of animations and I can tell you
- 13:11that stuff was, it's nice, but it was some of the crude stuff
- 13:16and they were doing a lot of tweening and tweening is a it
- 13:21was like a technique that was seen as lazy back in the day.
- 13:26It's not frame by frame, you're not redrawing frames, you're
- 13:29just you start from a key frame and then you draw it out and you
- 13:32move it to where you want it to be and you're like all right
- 13:34tween. So that means it moves on its
- 13:36own without you actually doing the animations.
- 13:40Some people can make it work, but generally you can spot it
- 13:43pretty well if you know what it looks like and.
- 13:45It's the day I learned. Yeah, hey man, I know animation
- 13:48shit. I used to do that.
- 13:49Stuff that's really fascinating to me, 'cause I was like sitting
- 13:51here thinking, how long did the animation take?
- 13:53So I'm glad to have your insider.
- 13:54Knowledge. Yeah, no, that was definitely
- 13:55probably like somebody that was. They probably got somebody that
- 13:58did flash animation off the Internet to do that would be my
- 14:01guess. Fiber it.
- 14:04Could have been somebody from new grounds, I don't know.
- 14:06Karen Hanson. Aaron Hanson was way too good.
- 14:09Aaron was actually a really good animator.
- 14:12I don't know. I believe that.
- 14:13I just, it's him. And didn't you say there's a
- 14:17rapper that you also like? He was on?
- 14:21Yeah. Yeah, he was on new grass.
- 14:22He was. He was.
- 14:23Decent. Yeah.
- 14:23I was gonna say it's whoever does.
- 14:25Bitch. I look like Goku, which is
- 14:26Soulja Boy. Yeah.
- 14:27He wasn't too bad. OK, OK, so yeah, let's get into
- 14:31it. Ty W hates this fucking movie.
- 14:33Yeah, didn't he want it to be under his pen name?
- 14:37No, kind of like, OK. I say pen name.
- 14:41I feel like it's something different when it's not writing.
- 14:43No, I'll go and see this whole thing here.
- 14:46So he was initially super excited to do this.
- 14:49So he was contacted by Lionsgate.
- 14:52Lionsgate was like, hey man, you can totally do anything that you
- 14:56want to do with this thing. Oh, I never believe a studio
- 14:58when they tell a director they can do whatever they want.
- 15:00Yeah, And he was like, cool, 'cause I want to do whatever I
- 15:02want with this thing and like, we fully support you.
- 15:04Go do what you want to do. Yes, What?
- 15:07Was this his first movie? I believe so, yeah, I think.
- 15:11This is I'm just trying to figure out if they knew yet how
- 15:13weird Ty W was. They OK, we'll hear.
- 15:19'Cause, like, I'm imagining Lionsgate looking at this baby
- 15:22director be like, OK, well, he's not gonna get that weird with.
- 15:25It here's an interesting thing. House of the Devil did come out
- 15:27this year. OK, but I mean, like, he made
- 15:30this film back in 2007. So it's.
- 15:32Different. OK, so Nah, this is his actual
- 15:35first feature length film. That's.
- 15:37Interesting because for the longest until now I thought it
- 15:40was House of the Devil. Yeah, well, same year, but yeah,
- 15:45different. So yeah, he what he wanted to do
- 15:49with this is like I wanted it to be the weirdest follow up to the
- 15:53point where people would say this is what cabin fever too
- 15:55should have been. I love this weirdo.
- 16:03Yeah, so he's like, I he didn't want them to.
- 16:06He wanted to be completely different than what anybody
- 16:08wanted. And Lionsgate were excited for
- 16:10that as well whenever he told them about that.
- 16:12So that's what he did. He made that movie, he shot it,
- 16:15he wrote it, he did all that shit.
- 16:17Then they got to the editing process.
- 16:19And once editing began, Lionsgate stopped and was like,
- 16:22hey, no, we want this to be more like cabin fever.
- 16:26So he got really frustrated. It's like, but we specifically
- 16:31said. We went, yeah, we went over
- 16:33this. So yeah, they forced him to do
- 16:35all kinds of like a bunch of different reshoots, edits and
- 16:38shit like that. Is that why Cassie's hair looks
- 16:41fucking terrible in some of it do?
- 16:42You think, OK, it could be, yeah.
- 16:44I think that they may have even done some of the reshoots
- 16:46themselves. But he doesn't really claim this
- 16:48movie to be his he wanted. He requested that they use the
- 16:53pseudonym Pseudonym. Pseudonym.
- 16:55Pseudonym Alan Smithy. That's not his thing.
- 17:01That's a general thing that film makers use when they that's
- 17:04that's the universal pen name that they use when they want to
- 17:08disown a film. Yeah.
- 17:10So if you ever see a director as Alan Smithy, that is somebody
- 17:14that did not want to be associated with that.
- 17:16They don't claim it to be the work, they disown it.
- 17:18Wow. Yeah.
- 17:19So why did they not let him? Well, they refuse because they
- 17:24claim that doing the redoing the opening credits would be too
- 17:29costly and he can't do it on his own because as you have to have
- 17:36the producers OK it you can't just do that yourself.
- 17:39So reluctantly, he has his name attached to this film and I've
- 17:43got a quote from him too. It was like a thing that was
- 17:46going on. He was doing press for House of
- 17:47the Devil and there was like shit going around on the
- 17:50Internet. People were like it leaked out
- 17:54that he did not want to be associated with it.
- 17:56So when he was doing press people are like, OK, so like
- 17:58what's going on with Captain Fever Two?
- 18:00And this is what he had to say. I don't feel I deserve credit if
- 18:03Cabin Fever 2 succeeds and by that same token I don't feel I
- 18:06deserve blame if it fails. I wrote the story and shot most
- 18:09of the footage, but it was completely re edited and
- 18:12partially re shot by the producers, editors and
- 18:14executives. The movie they are releasing was
- 18:17not really directed by me. Since I'm not a member of the
- 18:20DGA, the use of a pseudonym has to be approved by the producers
- 18:23and Lionsgate felt that it would be too expensive to redo the
- 18:26titles and would decrease the value of the final product.
- 18:29They denied my multiple requests to use Alan Smithy for my
- 18:32director credit and my name unfortunately remains on the
- 18:35film. I don't have any animosity
- 18:37towards those involved. I believe they had good
- 18:39intentions, but filmmaking is very personal for me and I can't
- 18:42stand behind something I don't feel responsible for.
- 18:45Wow. So yeah, he he hates this movie.
- 18:48He just owns it. He does not claim who this is.
- 18:50I want his Snyder cut of this. I'm curious to know what's
- 18:54different. Yeah, I already feel like this
- 18:57is a very different movie than the first one.
- 19:00Yeah, well. And I get hints of the director
- 19:03that we'll end up seeing with X. You know what I mean?
- 19:05Because Ty West has become so known for his, like, slow burn
- 19:08stuff. And I was very surprised with X.
- 19:10And then seeing this, I was like, OK, I kind of see little
- 19:13hints of that and some of the ways certain things were shot,
- 19:15like I could see it. I could see it too, yeah.
- 19:18And I don't necessarily feel like this is too different from
- 19:21the first one. I feel like they succeeded in
- 19:23making it totally similar to that because you got.
- 19:26I bet he didn't want the party cup.
- 19:28I don't know, man. Like maybe that does feel like
- 19:31something that was maybe like inserted?
- 19:32And all of that stuff is separate from, like, all of the
- 19:35high school stuff. I don't know though because he
- 19:37shares the scene with Larry Fessenden and that is very much
- 19:40a Thai W guy. That's true.
- 19:42They are bubbies. Yeah, I feel like he probably
- 19:44had them there, maybe just for like a cameo, like he had Light
- 19:47or strong. Yeah.
- 19:49But maybe he didn't want it to expand on Party Cop as much as
- 19:52we got. Yeah.
- 19:53But no, I would be very curious to know.
- 19:55Like, I mean, it has the same black comedy that the first one
- 19:59had, You know, it. It does match that tone, but it
- 20:02kind of bums me out that he doesn't like this thing.
- 20:04I know. But, you know, I get if it's not
- 20:07what he wanted to do, I completely understand.
- 20:10Yeah, And that's really all I have for fun facts.
- 20:14Lots of fun facts. No, but it's interesting stuff.
- 20:17It is interesting, yeah. I did not know that that shit
- 20:20went down with us here. It's kind of fascinating.
- 20:22Yeah. So, all right, let's get into
- 20:25our discussion. Good, bad, ugly, and absurd.
- 20:28Jesse, what did you like about this?
- 20:30Oh man, I love that. This was a bunch of high
- 20:34schoolers. It was a much larger group.
- 20:36We're in a school. We see the rowdiness of
- 20:39everything happening. It's feels like it's spreading
- 20:41so much faster than it was before, and I like that because
- 20:46it kind of we don't have time to sit there again.
- 20:49It's kind of surprising coming from Ty W that we're getting
- 20:52straight into the action of it all.
- 20:54But I I enjoy it. I enjoy like the weird moments
- 20:59of like the one girl with the doing the blowjob in the
- 21:04bathroom. Oh God, yeah.
- 21:05Like, you know what's going to happen.
- 21:07Except because he, like, subverts what you're expecting.
- 21:09So we don't immediately see like an infected pee pee, and instead
- 21:12later it's his fucking fingernail like.
- 21:15His pee pee is infected. To be fair, we weren't later.
- 21:18Yeah, but like, we don't see that.
- 21:20And like, you know, the whole scene with the pool, I was kind
- 21:23of surprised by how that was going down.
- 21:25So I think, you know, he did a lot of interesting things.
- 21:28He took like some very trophy stuff from a movie that like,
- 21:32you know, its predecessor was very tropy in and of itself.
- 21:36And I think it I had a lot of fun and I just, I think it, I
- 21:40think it was fun all around, you know, it had a good cast.
- 21:44I enjoyed the cast. It was interesting, I I was
- 21:46reading like a part of an interview that he had and they
- 21:49asked like, why? What drove you towards cabin
- 21:52fever? Because you and Eli Roth make
- 21:55wildly different films. And he's like, yeah, we have
- 21:58completely different styles from what we do, but we like the same
- 22:01things. Yeah, and that's and I think it
- 22:04like it has the same kind of, like you said, tone and sense of
- 22:08humor without like the The Dude bro Enos that you a lot of times
- 22:12get with Eli. That's exactly what it is.
- 22:14I mean, you go, I think. You have moments because you do
- 22:18have, like, horny teenage boys in here.
- 22:20Like the friend. What's his name?
- 22:22Alex. Alex is a yeah.
- 22:24Yeah, like you have moments like with him and Rick and them, but
- 22:28like, there's more to the movie than that.
- 22:30I think that that's like very true to that type of character
- 22:35though. Yeah, like, I mean, yeah, And
- 22:38and I don't know, I just, I think it's, it's fun, it's
- 22:42interesting. It's got a weird sense of humor
- 22:45and a weird sense of doing things and knowing when to show
- 22:49you stuff and when not to show you stuff because of what's what
- 22:52could be more horrifying, like Alex's penis or Mary's baby?
- 22:57Oh God. Yeah, like those those moments
- 23:00that you're just like, oh God, that's so horrible.
- 23:02I don't even want to see it. Yeah, I think the not showing
- 23:05that was the right call because it made.
- 23:07Me, it was worse. The thing with Mary's baby was
- 23:10just seeing the blood trail and seeing it in the trash can and
- 23:14then like, just. And she couldn't have been that
- 23:16far along, too. Is that like it's just
- 23:18horrifying? Because you know, whatever's in
- 23:20there, it's. That yeah, I agree with a lot of
- 23:23what you said. Just to add on top of that, I
- 23:26think that the FX work is fucking fantastic in this movie.
- 23:31I think that's it's like a rare movie for us where we both are
- 23:35just screaming at each other like the fingernail scream.
- 23:37Yes. I was just like, I couldn't
- 23:40fucking handle that. It was so well done.
- 23:43It looks so realistic. Just for those that maybe don't
- 23:46know what I'm talking about, there's a scene where Alex, he,
- 23:49he's gluing A fingernail and he's getting ready for prom and
- 23:52he just takes it and he just shoves it back in his fucking
- 23:55finger and he goes under his skin, super glues it back to his
- 23:58finger, oh, it's so nasty. But God damn, it's so good.
- 24:03And that's another thing that I love about this movie is the
- 24:05body horror is so effective. I feel like it was maybe even
- 24:08more effective than the first movie.
- 24:11OK, sorry, I got curious because we're talking about the special
- 24:14effects again, Ozzie Alvarez works, he is booked and blessed,
- 24:18and he's actually going to be featured on our show later this
- 24:20month with socks. Oh shit, yeah.
- 24:23So well, good for him. Yeah, that's that's probably why
- 24:25I recognize the name. Yeah, they they did fantastic.
- 24:29Got a shit ton. He's done like some superhero
- 24:31movies, like he's done. He's worked, yeah.
- 24:36OK, I like Party Cop being a a character in this too, even if
- 24:42Ty W maybe didn't want his involvement to be.
- 24:45That's just pure speculation too.
- 24:46I I don't know if that's the case or not.
- 24:48It just feels off from some of the rest of the movie to me.
- 24:52It just goes back to the original Cabin Fever where you
- 24:56have those weird moments with him doing his thing, and I feel
- 25:00like it fits naturally in a Cabin Fever movie.
- 25:03I yeah, I agree that it feels like he fits naturally in the
- 25:06Cabin Fever movie. I just feel like there's maybe a
- 25:08little bit too much of him. I disagree.
- 25:10He's one of my favorite characters.
- 25:11I love that character. He's so funny and he's actually
- 25:14like a good character and does shit in this movie.
- 25:17Too, Yeah, he does. He does move some stuff along in
- 25:20the. Yeah, he's like, he's not just
- 25:22like Comic Relief, like in the first one, like this one, Like
- 25:24he actually is given like a pretty decent role.
- 25:27I forgot a good. I forgot a good on my list.
- 25:29OK, prom night. Prom night.
- 25:31Plays. Oh yeah, the disco.
- 25:34Song from Prom Night with Jamie Lee Curtis.
- 25:37Cause like when we saw prom and there were disco balls, I
- 25:39started singing Prom Night and then it goes Prom Night, all
- 25:44right. And I was.
- 25:46Like, unfortunately, we don't get an extended dance scene.
- 25:48Do not get an extended dance scene, but this made-up for what
- 25:51I was missing in Hello Mary Lou last week.
- 25:53Yeah, that's true. OK, So what are some bads then?
- 25:57What did you not like about it? Like I said, I think Party Cop.
- 26:00I do agree that like he moves the plot along, but I also feel
- 26:03like the character's a little bit 1 dimensional and I think
- 26:05his shtick tends to work better in smaller doses.
- 26:08Like if he had just appeared at the beginning like saying Oh no
- 26:12man, you hit a moose. But I get why he's like there
- 26:16and he's doing more like he is kind of integral to some parts
- 26:21of the plot. I think it's interesting
- 26:23watching him actually do work, because you see a character like
- 26:28that and like, how the fuck is he a cop?
- 26:30Here's. The thing, though, is that he's
- 26:31doing work, but his work is mostly some CYA and cover your
- 26:37ass. In this movie, yeah.
- 26:39But like, it's still interesting to see like, oh, he is capable.
- 26:43Yeah, it's kind of cool to see that like side of him.
- 26:46Yeah, so there's that. And then there are just like a
- 26:52couple of characters that I feel like we don't get enough of an
- 26:55intro to that are like. Like the friends that invite
- 27:00them over to the. Movie, yeah.
- 27:01There's some that we get too much of an intro to that end up
- 27:04not being important. And then some that are like not
- 27:06introduced that do more like we see the janitor that's like just
- 27:10so fucking annoyed with everybody and we don't get much
- 27:13beyond like a banner that was thrown into the floor.
- 27:15And I'm like, that was really easy for you to clean up.
- 27:17Like, I get that it's rude that somebody just left it on the
- 27:19floor. But I think he's just like a
- 27:21jaded janitor like you. You know what he's been through?
- 27:24Because he's a janitor at a high school, he has to deal with high
- 27:27schools all day. Or like Sandy Taylor, like she's
- 27:30introduced early on and then really what she ends up being
- 27:33reduced to is the fact that her like, she gets slapped by Missus
- 27:37Hawkins. That's it.
- 27:39Yeah. She's like the prom.
- 27:40Queen, which is like like it's a funny moment, but like it is led
- 27:43to believe that she's going to be a little bit more important.
- 27:46There's like just some weird moments like that, and I wonder
- 27:49if that comes down to like the way these things were reshot and
- 27:52cut and edited. Maybe.
- 27:54I don't know. Yeah, you you feel like she's
- 27:56going to be the love interest, but then it comes over to
- 27:58Cassie. Yeah, well, we've got Cassie,
- 28:00and then we've got the girl that, like, Alex makes out with
- 28:05in the bathroom. I don't even know if we ever get
- 28:07a name for her, do we? Yeah, I think we do.
- 28:11Well, actually, I don't know if we do or not.
- 28:12I don't know. That is weird.
- 28:13OK. Is that a fear?
- 28:15Bad. Yeah, yeah, just like a couple
- 28:18little moments that hearing the background makes me think that
- 28:21it was maybe more of like a studio interference situation
- 28:23rather than like a problem with how Ty W was making the movie.
- 28:28Yeah, I don't know, man. But the way that this movie
- 28:31played out, I don't know if I would have wanted to see Ty
- 28:33West's version, because I love this movie so much, that is.
- 28:36So much fun. My only bad thing that I could
- 28:39say that I didn't really care for it is I thought, and I'm
- 28:43going to say that this is purely a Ty W decision as the weird
- 28:47lens that they used on the camera because it just made
- 28:49things narrow and thin. Yeah.
- 28:51No, that's Ty W That's A. 100%, Yeah, exactly.
- 28:54That's a that's a decision that he would make.
- 28:55But do you know what I'm talking about?
- 28:56Did you notice that too? Yeah, it was weird.
- 28:59Like, I can understand shooting certain scenes with that, but
- 29:03doing the entire movie with that is it's a choice.
- 29:08It's one that he went with. He wanted to, like, make it
- 29:10stylistic, I guess. But Nah, I wasn't really a super
- 29:14big fan of it. OK, ugly stuff.
- 29:19I'm going to say Rick, because at first I thought maybe he
- 29:22actually was really into Fredrika, but then you find out
- 29:25it was just a bet and I I felt really bad for Fredrika that.
- 29:29Was one of those things where I thought, oh, we're getting like
- 29:31a straight up diversion of what this was.
- 29:32Like, they do actually start sexing.
- 29:35And I was like, you get it, girl.
- 29:37And then her tooth falls out and he was like, oh, I just bet
- 29:41you'd be an easy lay. And I was like, oh, Rick, how
- 29:43dare you? Like that whole scene, like that
- 29:46was an emotional roller coaster for me, like the whole Rick and
- 29:49Fredrika thing. So I I'm disappointed that it
- 29:52ended like that, 'cause I would have loved it if it had just
- 29:56been like, no, he just wants to be with her social pressure to
- 30:00be with Sandy. But he actually wanted to be
- 30:01with Frederika. I would have loved that it.
- 30:03Would have been interesting, yeah.
- 30:05More interesting dynamic to explore for sure.
- 30:08My ugly is towards the end when John boys up at Cassie and
- 30:13becomes kind of inselish where he's like, oh.
- 30:15My God, that whole branch. Yeah, he's like, why are you
- 30:17with him? He's such a jerk and I would
- 30:19treat you so much nicer. I'm such a good guy.
- 30:21I'd. Treat you like a queen.
- 30:23Yeah, maybe she. Just want to be treated like a
- 30:25queen. Maybe she wants to be treated
- 30:26like a fucking person. Yeah, maybe you idolizing her is
- 30:29off putting to her. Well, the dude was kind of a
- 30:32dig, like. Yeah.
- 30:33No, I'm not saying that John, that not John.
- 30:36I don't even know his name. Yeah, it's Mark.
- 30:39Mark. Yeah.
- 30:41I'm not saying that Mark was a good guy or right for Cassie.
- 30:44I'm saying that Cassie needed to go off to school and leave all
- 30:48of her small town thoughts behind and see who she can meet
- 30:52in the big wide. World.
- 30:53I think he was fine to say why are you with a guy like that?
- 30:57He is such an asshole. He treats everybody like shit.
- 31:00And then as soon as you said I would treat you so much better,
- 31:02I'm such a good guy. That's when he is like kind of
- 31:05gets in the and so weird territory like.
- 31:07Yeah, he's like, can't you see I'm in love with you?
- 31:09Everybody else can see I'm in love with you.
- 31:10OK, cool. Just because you're in love with
- 31:12her doesn't mean she's in love with you.
- 31:14Yeah. John.
- 31:16Yeah, yeah, He just kind of. I'm picking the bear over you,
- 31:20John, I'm telling you that. At the same time, I I kind of do
- 31:24enjoy that. They do make it like a realistic
- 31:27character. He's not like a fucking Mary
- 31:29Stew, you know? Like he's like he's got his
- 31:31flaws. Yeah, he's very realistic as a
- 31:35naughty teenage boy that everybody expects.
- 31:37Like he's gonna go on to an IV and be a big doctor and like it.
- 31:41He feels real. Yeah, exactly.
- 31:43As a human. So that I mean, it's the only
- 31:45thing, but it's like a good thing.
- 31:46I like it. It makes it like a true, like a
- 31:49true. Yeah, yeah.
- 31:50It grounds the movie. So in an otherwise ungroundable
- 31:53movie, yeah. OK, absurd stuff.
- 31:56OK, there's so much absurd with this, but I think the one that
- 31:59I'm gonna go with is when he realizes that he's got a lesion
- 32:03on his wrist, and then he asks Cassie to help him cut off his
- 32:08wrist a la Evil Dead. Except just like, first of all,
- 32:13they cut right through the lesion, so there's that
- 32:16happening, and then the blood is just squirting all over both of
- 32:19them. So OK, cool, you didn't think
- 32:22this through when you were gonna cut your wrist off, cuz now
- 32:24you've definitely just infected both of you.
- 32:27Yeah, yeah, that was a that was a bad call on his part.
- 32:31The absurd that I had was just that party cop is like, actually
- 32:34a good cop. Like he actually can do shit.
- 32:37He fucking goes smoothly, man. He's got the potential to be a
- 32:40good cop, except if you find out he's sleuthing to cover up his
- 32:43traces of being involved. Yeah, I like that.
- 32:46He's like, I love that. It's still true to his
- 32:48character, though, because at the beginning you got him and
- 32:51he's like, don't worry man, you hit a moose, it's cool.
- 32:53You didn't hurt Ryder Strong. He's totally fine.
- 32:57But then like later on he's like, oh shit, that's the water.
- 33:00The water went there and he goes there.
- 33:02He's like, oh shit, I'm gonna dig through the files and
- 33:04everything and he fucking does it like.
- 33:07He does, except he's trying to make sure that he knows nobody
- 33:10knew he was there. He takes the He takes a specific
- 33:13file so he's not involved anywhere, and then he tells
- 33:17Toby, the water guy, to be like, OK, just tell them not to drink
- 33:20the water. I got to go.
- 33:21Bye. Well, I think he knows, like
- 33:23these guys are going to kill whoever does this, whoever
- 33:26spreads this. Yeah, he's seen what was
- 33:28happening with the hazmat in the first one, so he was like, I
- 33:31gotta get out of here. Actually, I don't think he saw
- 33:34any of that stuff because he was like.
- 33:35He knows enough to be suspicious.
- 33:37He he's partying with the kids and he sees right or Strong come
- 33:40out of the the woods and he's like, what's going on, man, I
- 33:45love that character so much. I just love that they gave him
- 33:48like, dimension. A little, a little bit.
- 33:53But they did. It's the thing like they still
- 33:55like. They just show that he can do
- 33:57it. It's got. 1 1/2 dimensional.
- 34:00He's great. He's my favorite character in
- 34:02both movies. He's so fucking good.
- 34:05I was reading something about him too.
- 34:07Apparently that guy's just vanished off the face of the
- 34:09planet. Really.
- 34:10Yeah. He went down to Florida and
- 34:11nobody knows anything happened to him again.
- 34:14Typical party cap. Yeah, he I feel like that's
- 34:17actually him. Yeah, I'm.
- 34:18Going to bet Ford has got all kinds of cool parties, man.
- 34:21Maybe he's alien. Maybe, yeah.
- 34:24I don't know. All right.
- 34:26So what do you rate this? Oh, this is an 8.
- 34:30OK, it's it's fun. It just keeps coming at you in a
- 34:33way that I want this type of movie to keep coming at you.
- 34:36And it it doesn't make any sense.
- 34:37And it's very silly and very gory and I love it.
- 34:40God man. Like I fucking love this movie
- 34:42too. I think I might like it more
- 34:44than the first also. Yes, I was scared to say it
- 34:47because I know you love the first one, but I definitely love
- 34:50this more than the first one. The first one's great, but I
- 34:52actually had like, a fucking blast with this one.
- 34:54I think I'd give it a nine. Dang.
- 34:57It was a great movie, man. I can't really think of anything
- 34:59that I I can think of so much that I loved and barely anything
- 35:02that I hated about this. OK, well, we got an 8 1/2
- 35:05starting average and that is pretty, pretty good, pretty.
- 35:08Good. All right, let's get into it.
- 35:10So we start off at Downtown Water and we see Writer Strong
- 35:15waking up all toxified in the water.
- 35:18Yeah, I'm surprised that this is actually him, 'cause they
- 35:21covered him and yeah, you. Like, that's right.
- 35:23Or strong. And I was like, absolutely not.
- 35:25You can't even see his face. There's no way he's coming here
- 35:27just to get hit by a bus covered under 10 lbs of special effects
- 35:31prosthetics. And no, it was.
- 35:33Him. Yep.
- 35:33Straight up. I mean, come on.
- 35:35He wasn't really doing a whole lot after.
- 35:37That's true. You know, like that's true.
- 35:39Boy Meets World is done here. He's.
- 35:41Yeah. So, yeah, he he wanders out.
- 35:43He's got the flesh disease. Yeah, And as he's running
- 35:46through the woods, you know how sometimes, like when you run
- 35:48through the woods, like clothes will get snagged and little bits
- 35:51of cloth will hang from the branches?
- 35:53That but his skin. Yeah.
- 35:55Just like chunks of his skin are just kind of yeah.
- 35:58On the tree? Yeah, it's like he's trying to
- 36:00make some flesh jerky. Yeah, he makes it to the road,
- 36:04stands in the middle of the road as a school bus is approaching
- 36:07and you would think that the school bus is paying attention
- 36:10and sees him there. But no straight up Splatterson.
- 36:13Which leads us to our title card of Cabin Fever to Spring Fever.
- 36:17Yeah, so party cop arrives, he's the investigator, and he tells
- 36:22the driver that he hit a mess, man.
- 36:24He's like these things make a big mess.
- 36:27I. I love the fact that he got
- 36:29upgraded from his little bicycle in the first one.
- 36:31He's got a full on cruiser. Now he's got a cop car.
- 36:35See, he's doing good things. They they've seen him and
- 36:39they're like you, you're a big boy now, you you get a car and
- 36:44then he goes out there and he's like, yeah, you hit a moose,
- 36:47man. Don't worry about it.
- 36:48Michael Keaton took the wooden gun back.
- 36:51Dude, Michael Keaton could be his.
- 36:53His chief. Who knows?
- 36:54I I just like, maybe they like him on the force because he just
- 36:58kind of, like keeps people calm. Yeah, 'cause this guy's
- 37:01destroyed. Yeah.
- 37:02He's like, listen man, and just laugh a little bit.
- 37:04It's all okay. Could have been way worse.
- 37:06Here's a picture I keep of this one woman who hit a moose with
- 37:09her car and was just sticking right out of the.
- 37:11Wind, yeah. Was like, yeah.
- 37:12And I keep a picture too, because nobody fucking believes
- 37:15me more. I told them the story, man.
- 37:17I love this little shot, but when the driver gets back on and
- 37:22he starts to drive away and he's trying to clean the windshield,
- 37:26something about the little wipers just pushing the blood
- 37:28around. It's so funny.
- 37:30And it's all so funny, 'cause you see in the school bus, the
- 37:32kids are like looking from the back and they see the body and
- 37:35they know that that's a fucking person that got hit and they are
- 37:38traumatized. So the bus leaves, party cop
- 37:42finds a shoe with a foot inside, and then he also finds a watch
- 37:46in the room and he's like, huh? Then he gets a call from the
- 37:49station. I mean, he's like, you need to
- 37:51come down here because the feds are moving in and I need to make
- 37:55sure that you're not going to say something that you would
- 37:57normally say. Yeah, big city peeps asking how
- 38:01thing, how they do things like I something tells me that they
- 38:04like people are like something's not right here.
- 38:06Yeah. They're like, they want to come
- 38:08check out bumpkins and see if they're doing their
- 38:10investigation correctly. I could see the, like, small
- 38:13town sheriff being nervous about it, you know what I mean?
- 38:15Like could be also like a little prematurely offended.
- 38:19I feel like this is the Hazmat people, though, because they for
- 38:22sure. Yeah, they've already, like,
- 38:24swooped in to eliminate them at the cabin at this point.
- 38:27Yeah. Then we have some cartoon
- 38:30opening credits where it shows how the contamination of the
- 38:34necrotic, necroticious, fasciitis, whatever the fuck it
- 38:39is. I don't know Latin it it's in
- 38:41the water supply and it's going through down home water.
- 38:45It's getting into their drinks. We see it being carried into a
- 38:48school. We also see the bus driver goes
- 38:51and he when he gets to school the janitor has to clean the bus
- 38:54and he gets the blood all over his face and into his body.
- 38:58Like we just see how it's like spreading around basically.
- 39:02Yeah, I mean, I I know I was saying it was true, but it's
- 39:04kind of nice. Like I appreciate like animated
- 39:06openings like this right here. It's kind.
- 39:08Of cool. It does give, like, a sense of
- 39:10like, OK, well, this is what this is how we're getting the
- 39:13story. We're learning the story through
- 39:14montage. Yeah, So we don't have to waste
- 39:17a bunch of time explaining how it traveled to the school.
- 39:20This is how it traveled. Which with this right here, I
- 39:22can understand why The Producers is like, no, it's kind of too
- 39:25expensive to have that guy reanimate that shit.
- 39:28I feel like they just need to fix the frame with his name on
- 39:30it though, right? I don't know, it might be a
- 39:33little bit more involved than. That maybe, I don't know.
- 39:35Yeah, So either way, it naturally cuts to the school and
- 39:40one of the students there has grabbed a water bottle.
- 39:42That is Sandy Taylor, who walks by.
- 39:46And Alex says Sandy Taylor is fucking ridiculous.
- 39:50Alex, says the fucking emo here. No, here's the thing though, he
- 39:55says. Sandy Taylor is fucking
- 39:57ridiculous and somebody in the background is warming up for
- 39:59band class and does the 4F1. Yeah.
- 40:04And Ty West has such a funny, subtle sense of humor.
- 40:07And I love that. That was pretty fun, yeah.
- 40:10So they're talking about like, he's like telling him he knows
- 40:15he wants to get with Cassie. He's encouraging you.
- 40:17Totally broke up with Mark and you can go for it.
- 40:19We all know you love her. She's there.
- 40:21She's waiting for you. And then Mark is like, listen,
- 40:24don't you dare get with Cassie. She's mine, OK?
- 40:29Yeah, pins him up against the Walker and then he takes him and
- 40:32tosses him into a classroom, which gets John in trouble for
- 40:35some reason. No tolerance bullshit.
- 40:38He's the poor kid. I feel like Mark is from a rich
- 40:41family and I think maybe John is like a scholarship student or
- 40:44something, 'cause this is for sure a private school.
- 40:46They're all wearing the. Uniform.
- 40:47The uniforms, Yeah, but it's interesting that he doesn't get
- 40:49blame. And it's so clearly Mark that's
- 40:52doing all this shit, like he didn't throw a single punch.
- 40:55He didn't do anything. Yeah, he just got thrown into a
- 40:57classroom. Yeah, the principal's already
- 40:59over his shit. By the way, the principal, he
- 41:03might not recognize him with his little mustache and here, but
- 41:07what's his name? Previously, his name was Buck,
- 41:10and he did, at least Once Upon a time, like to fuck.
- 41:15I would assume he still enjoys that.
- 41:17I mean, maybe. Yeah, maybe.
- 41:19He doesn't have a name that rhymes with it anymore, though.
- 41:22Now what is the same here again, Sinclair?
- 41:24Principal. That's his name.
- 41:26He's like, I'm not. This is my destiny.
- 41:30Principal. Principal Sinclair.
- 41:33That's his name. You say so.
- 41:35I do. So the Southwest, OK, yes.
- 41:38Maybe that was one of the that he disagreed with.
- 41:40And John's like, I didn't start the fight.
- 41:42And he goes, listen, you have five more weeks here, then
- 41:44you're out, OK? So just stay out of trouble,
- 41:47man. This is one of those schools
- 41:49that goes into June and that's. Yeah, it's like, look, man,
- 41:52you're a good kid. Like why would you do something
- 41:54so stupid to start a fight and? He's like, I didn't.
- 41:57He goes, whatever, Jim, get out of here.
- 42:01All right. So now at class, they're like,
- 42:05they're talking. It's like one of those days.
- 42:07Like, you can tell everybody's phoning in at this point.
- 42:10The teachers just got the movie on.
- 42:11Like, watch the movie. Well, it seems like it's a
- 42:14tutorial video on how to dissect a frog.
- 42:17Which is what they're. Doing With five weeks left,
- 42:19you're past the dissecting a frog point of the curriculum.
- 42:21Yeah, you should be at this point.
- 42:24But the teacher's getting mad because John and Alex are
- 42:27talking and she's like, you need to be quiet.
- 42:30And then another student gets annoyed because they start
- 42:33talking again and Alex tries to say something and he ends up
- 42:37getting removed from class. So he's mad and rips down the
- 42:40prom banner, which upsets the janitor.
- 42:43So he was like, God damn it, you kids.
- 42:45Why the fuck is he mad? He knew that this was going to
- 42:47happen. He just seems like he doesn't
- 42:49give a shit anymore. Here's the thing, I got it.
- 42:51It's rude to just leave trash in the floor.
- 42:53And I would never do that. Especially with the thought that
- 42:56oh, somebody else gets paid to clean it up.
- 42:58That's shitty. That's shitty behavior.
- 42:59But also, it could have been so much worse.
- 43:02And I guarantee at the school it has been so much worse.
- 43:04So oh. Surely, yeah.
- 43:06This guy though, I just. Did him react to like a giant
- 43:09piece of paper that takes him half a second to pick up and
- 43:12voila, the mess is clean? Yeah, yeah.
- 43:15But it's the straw that broke the camels back, yeah.
- 43:17Apparently, yeah, so. He's wandering the halls and he
- 43:22finds, miraculously, this girl crying all by yourself in an
- 43:25empty classroom. Don't know what the fuck is
- 43:27happening here. This is definitely movie shit.
- 43:29Yeah, she said. She's been dumped.
- 43:31So he's like, well that guys an idiot cuz you're beautiful.
- 43:34So then they make out in the bathroom and then she goes down
- 43:37on him and she's got braces and he's rightfully nervous.
- 43:40She's got braces and also an infected mouth.
- 43:43Yeah. And she's got like, old pus
- 43:45building up on the lip there. It's kind of nasty.
- 43:47Yeah. He doesn't really care, though.
- 43:49He's just getting his Weiner winged.
- 43:52Yeah. And.
- 43:53And. Then he's like, so do you want
- 43:54to go to prom with me? And she goes, that's not what
- 43:56this is about. This is about revenge.
- 43:58And he was like, will you please go to promise me.
- 44:01And she goes, listen, I have to work for a living, but if I find
- 44:03someone to cover my shift. Yeah, we'll, we'll maybe meet
- 44:06there, she says. OK, Yeah.
- 44:08So now, after school, the buddies invite John to go watch.
- 44:13I didn't catch both their names. I know that they're referred to
- 44:15as D and. DD and D Yeah, one of them.
- 44:17Is Dane. The tiny one is Dane.
- 44:19Yeah, I don't know their names either.
- 44:20I just knew D&D. But they invite John over to
- 44:23watch Bride of the Cannibals too.
- 44:25It's banned in 26 countries. Yeah, it's even earlier than the
- 44:291st. I like the name of that.
- 44:31It sounds like it could be a fun movie.
- 44:33Yeah, I'm very curious about it. But John really would rather go
- 44:37to prom. So yeah, he.
- 44:39Cassie approaches and she says, hey, will you walk with me?
- 44:42So they talk. They talk about John's friends.
- 44:45That's where he's explaining that, you know, his friends are
- 44:47super smart. And she goes, well, you're also
- 44:48super smart. You know, everybody knows you're
- 44:50gonna make it out of here and be like a big hotshot Dr. and it's
- 44:53gonna be great. And you know, I can't get out of
- 44:56this town, and I feel like you probably could.
- 44:59Yeah, And then they make it back to her house.
- 45:02She starts to go inside, but he builds up the courage to ask her
- 45:05to prom and she declines, which this is another one of those
- 45:08things that, like, subverted the trip.
- 45:10I thought for sure she was going to be like, yeah, let's go
- 45:11especially. Because the whole time they were
- 45:13talking like she keeps mentioning prom.
- 45:14She goes, yeah, who wants to go to prom?
- 45:17I know. Yeah.
- 45:17So lame. Yeah, I don't.
- 45:19Have a dress or anything even. I mean, just like an old thing
- 45:22that probably would work, but like, you know, I don't want to
- 45:24go to prom. Yeah, so he's, you know, he's
- 45:27pretty frustrated with that. So now we cut over to Party Cop.
- 45:30He's getting pancakes at the diner with Larry Fessenden, who
- 45:34was the truck driver of the water company that delivered the
- 45:38bottles and my. Note just says Larry Fessenden
- 45:41appears and dies. He is drinking milk, so he may
- 45:46be a he. Probably knew that water was
- 45:49infected and he's like, yeah, affect them kids.
- 45:50Could be, yeah. He he doesn't even get a line.
- 45:52He just shows up and he dies. He falls on the floor and he
- 45:55just starts, like, convulsing. And then one of the people
- 45:58there, instead of like doing any kind of resuscitation effort,
- 46:02starts praying loudly over him, which you guys might think it's
- 46:06maybe something a bit of a stereotype.
- 46:08But this is we literally talked about this last night, because
- 46:11this happened to me in college when I had some bronchitis and I
- 46:15was just trying to get food from one of the cafeterias.
- 46:19And I had a coughing fit while I was checking out.
- 46:22And the cashier prayed with her hand on my head to cure me of my
- 46:30sickness. And my coughing fit subsided at
- 46:34that moment, as it would have because she was like, you're
- 46:38welcome and I was like, okay. I was there to experience that.
- 46:43That was a very weird moment. Firm That's how it went down.
- 46:48I also can we take a moment here to appreciate that Party Cop is
- 46:53the most responsible person here because he's flirting with the
- 46:55diner like the waitress there. And then she's like freaking out
- 46:58and she doesn't know what to do. She just grabs the phone and he
- 47:01looks there. He's like 911, man.
- 47:04I wrote that he has a brain blast because he sees Larry
- 47:08fastened in dying, thinks about the shoe tree, thinks about the
- 47:12watch, remembers back to the first movie.
- 47:15He's like, oh Donuts, no going. On Yep.
- 47:20So he leaves and yeah, he just puts it all together.
- 47:23On the ride back, he's like, oh shit.
- 47:25So he turns around. So then we get a prom prep
- 47:28montage, and it's a lot of fun. Oh God, OK yeah, Alex calls,
- 47:34calls John. He's like, look, man, Goddess
- 47:36states we're going to prom. Alex has to talk John into it at
- 47:40first, but he reluctantly agrees.
- 47:42And then we get that montage. And then it.
- 47:44During this montage, upbeat music.
- 47:46It's all fantastic, but we get these shots of Alex's fingernail
- 47:50just slowly coming off. Yeah.
- 47:52And at one point he gets the Super glue to glue it on.
- 47:55And then when he pushes it in, he like literally pushes it into
- 47:58a sinker. And I'm just going to say this
- 47:59is worse than the leg shaving. Sand.
- 48:01It is so much worse. Oh my God.
- 48:03I'm thinking about it right now and it's just so like clearly
- 48:06I'm on mine. You know what the solution is?
- 48:08Stop shaving your legs like she kept going.
- 48:10She. Like, yeah, but what do you do
- 48:12here, man? Yeah, your your fingernails.
- 48:14Just like what am I going to do? You know you got to go to prom.
- 48:17You can't go to prom without a finger.
- 48:18Now what the fuck are you going to do?
- 48:20So we have all of these shots of people like getting their suits,
- 48:23doing their hair and makeup, all of that going on and to mingled
- 48:27with like John and Alex getting ready.
- 48:30But then we also see Mark in his garage, like doing his like
- 48:34martial arts with his little headband on.
- 48:37And I Love. It like that was cool.
- 48:39What a little. Weirdo.
- 48:41Like, at least if you're gonna be like the stereotypical, like
- 48:44antagonist. Like, at least you're fun.
- 48:46He's like the fucking karate kid bowling.
- 48:48Like, yeah, he's just there to just fuck shit up and be an
- 48:51asshole. He's Cobra Kite.
- 48:53It would. Have been funny.
- 48:53If we saw him, like practicing with a fire hydrant, just like
- 48:56bashing watermelons and shit. He's like, I'm gonna bash
- 48:58somebody's head tonight. I know I can feel it.
- 49:02OK, so party cop arrives at the water company and he's checking
- 49:06on the water supply. He's wanting to check the
- 49:07records. Yeah, he he basically convinces
- 49:11Toby to let him in. Yeah.
- 49:13Then we cut back to prom. They're making the punch for
- 49:16prom and she. Frederica, she's getting, she's
- 49:20got the prom committee chair ribbon on, which is not a thing
- 49:23anybody has, but she's. Got it herself.
- 49:25Yeah, and you know what? I bet she's got like a ribbon
- 49:28drawer at home. And she's got specific ribbon
- 49:30scissors. She used a cricket to print off
- 49:34her little, like the little center part of it.
- 49:36I I love Frederica. I want a whole Frederica movie.
- 49:40Oh, we should also Frederica and I can't remember the other no,
- 49:45the other girl. Oh, Mary.
- 49:46Yeah, Mary, she's the pregnant girl that they were talking
- 49:48about in the class earlier. They're their two dates to the
- 49:51prom. Yeah, yeah, Mary is pregnant.
- 49:55She's wearing like a loose dress, but when she, like, holds
- 49:58it up against her, you can see a bump.
- 49:59I'd say like five or six months maybe if she's like normally.
- 50:02She's showing pretty well. Yeah, she's.
- 50:04Showing, but she doesn't look ready to burst, and that's
- 50:06important for later for what the implications gonna be.
- 50:09Yeah, I know it's weird to have an implication without a boat,
- 50:12but it's fine. That's what we got here, folks.
- 50:16So yeah, she's getting, she's making her punch and she's using
- 50:19the bottled water, which feels wasteful when you're in like an
- 50:22industrial kitchen and can just get water from the sink.
- 50:24But whatever, they're rich kids. They probably don't even
- 50:26consider that you can just drink water from the sink anyway.
- 50:30She keeps she pours the water in there though, but she it keeps
- 50:33coming up like bloody no, she's. Putting in the punch mix.
- 50:36I know, but she like, she didn't like it the first time because
- 50:38it looked too weird. And then she just redoes it
- 50:40again and it just stays like this.
- 50:42She's like, huh, I guess this is just how punch looks.
- 50:44But no, it's because of like, the infection that's in the
- 50:46water bottle. So Rick comes in and she's like,
- 50:50oh, what are you doing here? He's like, well, Sandy's
- 50:54preparing her speech and you know, I wanted to come see you.
- 50:56And then he whispers something in her ear and they run and they
- 51:01go to the the school pool and they skinny dip together and we
- 51:05see them both get full knickers. Full knickers?
- 51:07Yeah, for sure while they're doing this.
- 51:09The janitor that was pissed off from before we see that his
- 51:12mouth. Literally pissed off.
- 51:14His mouth is straight up infected and he takes the punch
- 51:17bowl, puts it on the floor and just pisses all in it and it
- 51:20starts off a normal stream. It starts off a normal stream
- 51:23and. Then it goes.
- 51:24Full ginger snaps. It goes all blood.
- 51:26Yeah, there's just. And he doesn't seem fazed enough
- 51:29by it. He's just like, mildly
- 51:31concerned. Like, huh?
- 51:32He's. Like I need it.
- 51:33I'm due for a prostate exam, yeah.
- 51:35OK, we'll dress this later, yeah.
- 51:39Right now, it's for vengeance. Monday is for is for the HMO.
- 51:43So Rick and the girl, Fredrika, I think it was her name.
- 51:47Yeah, they're having sex now. And as they are making out, her
- 51:50tooth falls out, which causes him to get grossed out.
- 51:54And he's like, I was only doing this because I bet my friends
- 51:56that you would be an easy way. And then she's like, but please
- 51:59help me. And then she drowns and he's
- 52:01like fuck. And so he like kind of grabs a
- 52:04net to try and reach into the pool.
- 52:05And then he gets folded and he also drowns and this pool is
- 52:10full. Like it's just all bloody now.
- 52:13It's nasty. Yeah, Alex and John arrive
- 52:17outside the prom. I didn't even write notes on
- 52:20this. Yeah, they and they're going
- 52:21inside now we're cut over to Party Cop.
- 52:24He's over there at the water company and the.
- 52:26Files and realizes that the water from down home water went
- 52:30to Springfield High School. Yeah, so he he tells the dude
- 52:34there, he's like, look man, just tell them what happened here.
- 52:37Just tell them that everything's infected.
- 52:39You're going to be the town hero, man.
- 52:41Everybody's going to want to be with you.
- 52:42You're going to get laid and everything.
- 52:44It's going to be great. You're going to party And then
- 52:46he bells and as soon as he bails the hazmat team comes inside cuz
- 52:49he saw them. Yeah, and he gets the hell out
- 52:51of there and they shoot the dude up as soon as they.
- 52:53Open the door. Yeah, Toby's both be like, hey
- 52:55man, and then he gets shot. Yeah.
- 52:58We cut to the prom and prom night.
- 53:00Yeah, we get the prom night, Jim.
- 53:03It's amazing. I'm very excited about it.
- 53:05Sandy is not excited. She's freaking out because
- 53:08Rick's not there and she's yelling at the principal and
- 53:11Hawk, Miss Hawker and Miss Hawker slaps.
- 53:14Straight up slaps, so yeah. This is all kind of in the
- 53:17background too, and it's just like, it's hilarious.
- 53:20So John's there, and he's about to go get some punch, but Cassie
- 53:24stops him, surprises him. She's their prom.
- 53:27Yeah. And at first, John is very
- 53:28excited, but she's there with Mike.
- 53:30Yeah, and she goes off. She's like, all right, you guys
- 53:33get punched together, you guys, 'cause you guys are clearly
- 53:35friendly, clearly friends. Yeah, you definitely didn't get
- 53:37in trouble earlier because of a fight.
- 53:39In the room. Yeah, And Mark takes him and
- 53:42pins him. He's like, look, man, like, I'm
- 53:43going to like, I'm going to have all of the sex with her.
- 53:46He does. This macho bullshit?
- 53:48Yeah, like possessiveness over like another fucking human
- 53:51being. And then of course, Principal
- 53:53Sinclair is like John, where are you fighting yourself all alone
- 53:56here? In the middle.
- 53:57Of the gym you're expelled. Cassie sees and gets pissed off
- 54:01at Mark and storms off too. So yeah, they kick John out of
- 54:05the prom. Cassie follows It's.
- 54:06Kind of implied that he's kicking him out of school, too.
- 54:08He's like, you're out of here. Yeah, I maybe.
- 54:12Yeah, I who knows? Yeah.
- 54:14So yeah, she follows him out of the school and they're walking
- 54:16around. I do like here BC at the prom.
- 54:19The rabbit is also there. I like that they keep the rabbit
- 54:22consistent with this. I like that they keep the
- 54:25rabbit, but it makes me mad watching the mascot drink the
- 54:27water through the mesh opening in the head, because that's not
- 54:32how the like they're not fitted to your face.
- 54:34Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. It's just.
- 54:36Pouring water on the person inside.
- 54:38Yeah, the rabbit was one of the things that stood out to me the
- 54:42most back in the day when cabin fever was coming out.
- 54:45I remember the trailer seeing the clip of that.
- 54:47It freaked the fuck out of me. And then I just like that he's
- 54:50here partying with them like it's so.
- 54:52Cool. I like it.
- 54:53He's partying with the mean teacher.
- 54:55Like, yeah, they're they're having a good time.
- 54:57Yeah, because instead of getting to enjoy his prom, he's got to
- 55:01be in this nasty, stinky mascot outfit.
- 55:05Yeah, of course he's going to party with the teacher.
- 55:08He probably hates everybody else there, truly.
- 55:11Plus, Miss Hawker seems like she could probably throw down.
- 55:14All right, so now we cut to John and Cassie Walken.
- 55:17This is where John boys up at Cassie and does his insult shit.
- 55:20He's like, you're stupid for being with Mark.
- 55:23He's the meanest guy in the school.
- 55:24He's constantly beating me up and he's rude to you.
- 55:27And I would never treat you like that.
- 55:28I'd treat like a queen. I love you.
- 55:30Everybody knows I love you. You're the only one who doesn't
- 55:33know that I love you, so you're stupid again.
- 55:36Speechless. She doesn't even have, like,
- 55:37anything to say to this. Wow.
- 55:39I remember Once Upon a time when we were friends.
- 55:41Yeah, feels pretty unsafe right now.
- 55:44And then the hazmat people pull up and it definitely isn't safe.
- 55:47And they force him back into the school and he's like, no, I'm
- 55:49just trying to leave. And they're like, no, get in the
- 55:51school. And then when they're pushed in
- 55:54there, like they're chaining up the doors.
- 55:56Yeah, they're quarantining them. They're so they go inside, they
- 56:00go to where the pool was and then they see it's just covered
- 56:03in blood and they see the body. I thought that this body reveal
- 56:06reminded me of why of sleepaway camp when the guy rolls over
- 56:10from the canoe. Hey.
- 56:12Baba Reba. I can't remember the dude's
- 56:15name, but yeah, it reminded me of why that?
- 56:16He's Bobby Reba Baba. Reba, that's what I think of him
- 56:21is OK, so. John tells Cassie to go get Alex
- 56:25and not take no for an answer, and when she goes in there she
- 56:30grabs Alex and his date disappears and he's like great
- 56:33thanks for cock blocking me. And then she looks over and sees
- 56:36Mark is dancing with a girl and grabbing her ass.
- 56:38Grabbing some ass? Yeah, he's just smiling at him.
- 56:40Yeah, and then? The principal is not listening
- 56:43like he hears what John's saying, but he's like, no, that
- 56:46feels not real. He's like I'm the principal.
- 56:49I feel like they told me if they were quarantining this, he's
- 56:53like Lemmy and they're like, look, there's dudes in like
- 56:56Monsters Inc outfits right outside.
- 56:58Like, how about you go check out what's going on?
- 57:01And so he walks towards there. And these Hazmat people, I gotta
- 57:04say, like maybe their end game was just a blow up the entire
- 57:07school windows, but they have to shoot through the window to hit
- 57:12the principal when they're shooting him, you know?
- 57:15That's causing a contamination potential.
- 57:17Yeah. Yeah, it was a bad move.
- 57:19Maybe the person that did that got like scolded after after the
- 57:22fact. Maybe that's the third party
- 57:24cap. Who was it that I discovered was
- 57:26one of the hazmat people? Fucking Joe Swanson.
- 57:32Yeah, I was gonna say Joe Swanberg.
- 57:34Swanberg Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, maybe it was him.
- 57:37It was his first day. You know what that would?
- 57:38Be right that actually. Feels like true for Jo Swanberg.
- 57:43Yeah, Ty W Ty W is like, I just own this movie, except for that
- 57:47part where he does that because he would do that, and also the
- 57:51part where Larry dies because that's also what Larry does,
- 57:54that's. What Larry does.
- 57:56Those are the only things that I claim from that film.
- 57:57Larry lives through the whole thing.
- 57:59Or are rare. Yeah.
- 58:02They necessitate Barbara Crampton, and sometimes, even
- 58:05then, that's not enough. Yeah, So yeah, the principal got
- 58:08shot in the head. He's dead.
- 58:11OK, so now the team is gassing the building.
- 58:14The whole prime area is also seemingly locked too, so they're
- 58:20gassing the students in there. I love this.
- 58:21So the smoke bombs come out and then the students are also
- 58:26simultaneously starting to feel the effects of the
- 58:28contamination. And they're just exorcisting,
- 58:33exorcisming the blood all. Over just vomiting blood
- 58:36everywhere, it's so much blood vomiting.
- 58:39Yeah, this is honestly this whole movie with how like balls
- 58:44to the wallet is and how much blood and gore and random shit
- 58:47there is. It gives me like Piranha 3D
- 58:49vibes. Yeah, I could see that the way
- 58:51that this goes. Yeah.
- 58:52Yeah, yeah, I could feel that. The janitor then stumbles out
- 58:57and he's dying. Ask him for help and then he
- 58:59just dies. And he falls over into the
- 59:01little arch thing they have in front of the gym, and when he
- 59:06does, it falls over and it blocks the gym doors.
- 59:09So all the people trying to escape, it's kind of Carrie
- 59:11esque, except like nothing's on fire, but it looks like it's on
- 59:15fire from like, the effects of the smoke bomb and the blood
- 59:18flowing through the air. It's honestly like the way it's
- 59:21shot is so fucking cool. It's interesting that like all
- 59:24prom horror movies seem to come back to Carrie because they all
- 59:28take beats from Carrie when it comes to this.
- 59:30Like chaos happens at the prom and then everybody tries to
- 59:33scatter and they all die. Yeah, and I mean like it.
- 59:36Just it. It's cool.
- 59:38I like it. Yeah, it's found.
- 59:40And I love it. I love that that Stephen King's
- 59:42like first or second book, this badass, that like he went on to
- 59:47have this whole career and also he changed like a whole genre of
- 59:51movies. Yeah, once the book was adapted.
- 59:54It's solid. So they all realize that it's
- 59:58some kind of like that infection or whatever.
- 1:00:00They realize everybody's getting that infection, so they decide
- 1:00:03to check each other. Yeah, well, at first they're
- 1:00:05arguing about like, if they should go get a phone and call
- 1:00:08for help. And John's like, no, we need to
- 1:00:10leave because they're they're shooting people.
- 1:00:12We've got to get out. So they're arguing about which
- 1:00:14way is the best exit. And then they're like, well, we
- 1:00:16need to make sure we're not contaminated first, so.
- 1:00:18They go to the locker room. Yeah, Cassie goes to.
- 1:00:22I like how they like have the boys locker room and the girls
- 1:00:24locker room and they go to him. If you were wondering, Alex's
- 1:00:28Dick is in fact fucked up. He doesn't want to look at it
- 1:00:30himself. He asks John.
- 1:00:31He's like my Dick. Have you seen my Dick?
- 1:00:33How's my Dick? And it's gnarly.
- 1:00:36Again, Piranha 3D. Yeah, they hate my penis.
- 1:00:39Yeah, So yeah, that's not going too well there.
- 1:00:44Cassie though, she's in there, she's checking herself, and she
- 1:00:46hears some crying going on, so she goes to check in the shower.
- 1:00:50That's where Mary is. Again, Carrie?
- 1:00:52Very? Carrie asked Vibes.
- 1:00:54Because she's just covered in blood in the locker.
- 1:00:57Room, Yeah, She's just sitting there on the floor crying.
- 1:00:59There's like a blood trail, and then you follow the blood trail.
- 1:01:02Yeah, she said that she had the baby.
- 1:01:03Yeah, she doesn't know what to do.
- 1:01:05Yeah, and it just leads all the way to a trash.
- 1:01:08Can She's like, oh God, you should see it.
- 1:01:10I don't know what to do. You don't hear any crying or
- 1:01:13anything besides Mary. Yeah, baby.
- 1:01:15Again. Like I said, she did not look
- 1:01:16full term yet. No, I know some people can be.
- 1:01:19Really tiny. But even the tiny ones, like,
- 1:01:21have a pretty bumpy belly when they're ready to pop.
- 1:01:26Boy, yeah, it's just it's dark. And it gave me goosebumps
- 1:01:33watching it last night. And we both got like, cuz you
- 1:01:36know, for all of this we've been going like, yeah, gross, gnarly.
- 1:01:40And then we just got so quiet. It's it's dark.
- 1:01:45It's pretty dark, so I bet. That I did that alone is why
- 1:01:49this wasn't in theaters. I don't know plenty of movies.
- 1:01:53Have I could see that being a thing though that like they had
- 1:01:56a hard time selling it to the MPAA.
- 1:01:58It's possible. So she is wanting to go to
- 1:02:01Cassie because she just wants help, but Cassie doesn't want to
- 1:02:03touch her because she's infected.
- 1:02:04So she grabs a pole or something and just hits her and it kind of
- 1:02:08tears her flesh because it's already weak and she just dies
- 1:02:12I. Feel like she could have just
- 1:02:13left the locker room like. Yeah, but she was gonna chase
- 1:02:16you. This girl was gonna.
- 1:02:18She wanted to make some kind of physical contact.
- 1:02:19She was. She would have gotten that.
- 1:02:21She was reaching for a hug. She was coming after her.
- 1:02:23It's the same thing. It's like a zombie.
- 1:02:25Like a zombie's gonna be slow, but you still want to stop the
- 1:02:27threat this. Is like a sad zombie, though,
- 1:02:29like she just wants a. Hug zombie's a zombie, man.
- 1:02:32Like it's the risk of getting infected.
- 1:02:34I totally understand it. So, OK, we cut to party cop, and
- 1:02:40he calls his cousin to come pick him up and he's like, I got the
- 1:02:43paperwork, there's no trail. They'll never find me.
- 1:02:47We'll just get out of here. And his cousin's like, dude,
- 1:02:49you're a cop. You can't just disappear cause
- 1:02:52the other cops will notice. He's like, Nah, man, it's all
- 1:02:55good. Yeah, I got the files, man.
- 1:02:57It's cool. They're not going to know I was
- 1:02:59here. His cousin's like, OK.
- 1:03:01Yeah, so they're they're leaving town.
- 1:03:05Alex is not OK. He's looking pretty rough and
- 1:03:09he's going through the halls. The school is being swarmed by
- 1:03:13the hazmat people and John and Cassie are hearing gunshots and
- 1:03:17so they're freaking out. They run into a room and they
- 1:03:21see Miss Hawker and she is also not doing very good.
- 1:03:27She's being very loud, which is concerning to them, so they hide
- 1:03:30around. She's like, and hers is kind of
- 1:03:32heartbreaking. And it's also very reminiscent
- 1:03:34of the douchebag blonde guy from the first one who's like, I
- 1:03:38survived. I did it.
- 1:03:39I made it out. I live.
- 1:03:40And then the hazmat people come and shoot them.
- 1:03:43That's exactly what happens to her.
- 1:03:45And they do not sweep the room again.
- 1:03:47Joe Swanberg, is that you? It was kind of cool that the
- 1:03:51teacher didn't sell them out, though.
- 1:03:53I thought for sure she was gonna say no, they're.
- 1:03:55Over here, I feel like all of these people have to be pretty
- 1:03:58delirious by the time they get to this point.
- 1:04:00Surely, yeah. They're just reacting on
- 1:04:03instinct. So they they do sneak out of the
- 1:04:06room though, because they weren't caught.
- 1:04:08Yeah, yeah. They go looking for Alex and
- 1:04:09they can't find them, but Alex? Figures that Alex went to the
- 1:04:12library because Alex was saying that he needed to figure out
- 1:04:14what was wrong with him so he could cure it.
- 1:04:17They go to the library and they find him just on the ground.
- 1:04:19He's bleeding out. He had the book, and he opened
- 1:04:22it up to the page of the disease and.
- 1:04:25Fasciitis. The disease is incurable and
- 1:04:28amputation is required to stop the infection.
- 1:04:31Cassie goes over to the doors and she locks them.
- 1:04:33Mark appears and he's trying to get in and she's not letting him
- 1:04:36in, and then he just like straight up.
- 1:04:38Once again, today I'm going to reference and does that to
- 1:04:44another student, except this time quite literally because
- 1:04:46it's with a fire extinguisher. Yeah, and she's like, not
- 1:04:50convincing me to let you in here, bud.
- 1:04:52Yeah, well, I think he knows at that point.
- 1:04:53Like, he bashes the dude's head and it's like a pretty good bash
- 1:04:57and you see it all. And then like after that he's
- 1:05:00like, yeah, I'm probably not getting it.
- 1:05:02So he leaves. Yeah.
- 1:05:04And while this is happening, John and Alex are having their
- 1:05:06bubbe moment as Alex is dying. And he's just saying like, go, I
- 1:05:10want you to get out. I want you to be safe and live.
- 1:05:12And it's just very like, oh, I mean, he was kind of a typical
- 1:05:17teenage douchey boy, but he could have grown up to be a less
- 1:05:20douchey man, you know? Yeah.
- 1:05:22And it's sad to seeing his friend like have to say goodbye
- 1:05:25to his best friend. Yeah, Party cop has stopped at a
- 1:05:28roadblock on his way out of town.
- 1:05:31They come up like his cousin's like, don't worry, I got this.
- 1:05:33So he like gets out of the car and goes over to him and just
- 1:05:37like tricks the cop and just knocks him out, Yeah.
- 1:05:42Yeah, that's how they're gonna get past the roadblock, yeah,
- 1:05:46John tells Cassie. Cuz he sees that he's got the
- 1:05:49lesion and instead of doing the typical like, zombie movie
- 1:05:52thing, I'm gonna ignore it and assume that I don't have the
- 1:05:55same zombie disease everyone else has.
- 1:05:57I'm special. He's like, no, I need to go full
- 1:06:00Ash Williams on myself, please. And I need your help.
- 1:06:04And it immediately has to backfire because they're both
- 1:06:09sprayed with so much of his infected blood.
- 1:06:12It's like Tarantino levels of blood shooting out of his hand.
- 1:06:16It. Is insane and.
- 1:06:17Then they take a blowtorch and cauterize it.
- 1:06:20Yeah. Yep.
- 1:06:21And then they kiss. Yeah, and the kiss is
- 1:06:23interrupted by Mark braining Cassie.
- 1:06:27Yeah, he like comes in. She's got a big fucking cut on
- 1:06:30the back of her head. Bad.
- 1:06:31Yeah, it is like her scalp is split and she might have a skull
- 1:06:35fracture. Like it's bad.
- 1:06:38It's not good and he is trying to kill John, and John, to his
- 1:06:42credit, is very injured at the moment.
- 1:06:44He's going ow ow ow ow ow you're on my stump and Cassie somehow
- 1:06:50not unconscious with concussion, is able to whack Mark and kill
- 1:06:55him. No, she takes a nail gun and
- 1:06:57shoots him. Yeah, whacks him like, whacks
- 1:06:59him with. The Yeah, sorry that took whack
- 1:07:03as like hit yeah. OK, mafia whack.
- 1:07:06Yeah. Yeah, OK, Yeah.
- 1:07:08So they managed to escape into the woods.
- 1:07:10But John is like, I'm dying. You maybe didn't cauterize me
- 1:07:16the best. He collapses.
- 1:07:18Yeah. And he's like, go on, just go.
- 1:07:20So she does. But they catch up to her and
- 1:07:24grab her. And then he gets up and jumps on
- 1:07:26the cops and they all forget about her and they all focus all
- 1:07:29of their efforts on him. Yeah.
- 1:07:30Well, he's a lot bloodier and definitely looks like he's
- 1:07:33probably infected. True, but they had like 10,
- 1:07:36Yeah, people there like 5:00 and 5:00.
- 1:07:38Yeah, they really. Joe Swanberg, This whole.
- 1:07:41They did, yeah. So Cassie runs off.
- 1:07:44Does Joe Swanberg deserve everything we're saying about
- 1:07:46him? Yeah, he does.
- 1:07:48I think he does. So she makes it to the road and
- 1:07:51there's a van approaching and wouldn't you know, it's party
- 1:07:54cop and his cousin. And they're like shit, man.
- 1:07:57Yeah, we'll get you to the house party.
- 1:07:59Caught back on this bullshit. He is not having his brain
- 1:08:02blast. Moment where he should be like,
- 1:08:03Oh no, DJ. She's covered in blood.
- 1:08:05Yeah, I saw this shit in the last movie.
- 1:08:09Come on. Yeah, so they let her in.
- 1:08:11They're gonna take her to the hospital.
- 1:08:14If you think the movie is over, you're wrong.
- 1:08:16Because we go back to the girl that made out with Alex earlier
- 1:08:21and she said she had to work for a living.
- 1:08:23She's a stripper. And if you think that's
- 1:08:25horrifying because she's in high school, you're correct.
- 1:08:27What's also horrifying is some of the patrons being like, I
- 1:08:29think she goes to my daughter's high school and they're all and.
- 1:08:31The other guy. Getting.
- 1:08:32High. Yeah, Oh my God, it's upsetting.
- 1:08:35And she's also got lesions all over herself and is swapping
- 1:08:39fluids with various patrons. She yeah, she takes off her top
- 1:08:43and she's got like, pus bubbles all over her boobs.
- 1:08:46And then the guys are like, I'd still hit it, Yeah, so then we
- 1:08:49cut to them. Actually, she's giving them like
- 1:08:52a lap dance. Yeah, like a private lap dance,
- 1:08:54The kind that I think in shadier places leads to full on.
- 1:08:59Sex. Yeah, it seems like that's the
- 1:09:00direction it's going. Did you hear?
- 1:09:02Did you hear? Now we get to have sex with the
- 1:09:04customers, except she throws up on him because she's not feeling
- 1:09:08good and he's upset about it. And obviously he's got her
- 1:09:13infection now and she goes home and he goes home and she had her
- 1:09:19coworker borrowed her lipstick that had gone over the lesion on
- 1:09:23her mouth. And so that coworker has it.
- 1:09:25And then we do more cartoons for the closing credits.
- 1:09:29Animated credits showing exactly what happened, so it shows the
- 1:09:33spread of the diseases going everywhere.
- 1:09:37Yeah. Cuz the truck driver, one of the
- 1:09:40guys there that was at the stripper that got the lap dance,
- 1:09:43he's a truck driver. He pisses in a bottle, throws it
- 1:09:46to people that were honking at him.
- 1:09:48And they're in a convertible. Yeah.
- 1:09:49So it gets all over them and it's just spreading across like.
- 1:09:53Yeah, Two of the patrons were from Mexico, so they drove back
- 1:09:56to Mexico. Obviously the original dancer,
- 1:10:00she goes home and she's sick in her house and then she's got her
- 1:10:03whole family and it's just the implication is that it's gonna
- 1:10:07be like, worldwide. Yep, Yep.
- 1:10:11And that's how it ends. And I like, I like the inclusion
- 1:10:14of the cartoon here at the end as well because like, you can
- 1:10:18let your imagination run wild with stuff like this.
- 1:10:20And obviously, like seeing how it ends with her, like, you know
- 1:10:24that like she's spreading it to all these patrons and these
- 1:10:26patrons are gonna go various places.
- 1:10:28And there's no reason that anybody would think that a high
- 1:10:31school student from the infected high school is going to be
- 1:10:33dancing at the strip club. So, you know, you can think
- 1:10:38about how immediately catastrophic all of this is.
- 1:10:41Again, I'm in reference Stephen King with The Stand, and the
- 1:10:44implications become global pretty quickly.
- 1:10:47And I like that the cartoon shows us some of the ways that
- 1:10:50that can happen. Yeah, I think it's really
- 1:10:52interesting seeing how it can spread.
- 1:10:54And it's really fascinating. Yeah, The cartoon does a good
- 1:10:56job of, like, showing that it's a really cool way to end the
- 1:10:59movie. Yeah, I really liked it.
- 1:11:01Yeah. So OK, how do we feel after
- 1:11:03talking about it? I still feel really fucking
- 1:11:06good. I'm.
- 1:11:07I think I'm gonna give it. I'm gonna bump it to an 8 1/2.
- 1:11:11OK, I'll keep mine at a nine, 'cause it feels right for this.
- 1:11:14But man, I fucking love this movie.
- 1:11:16It was so good, so much fun. So our new average is 8.75,
- 1:11:22almost double the incredibly rude, rude, rude, rude, rude
- 1:11:25IMDb rating I. Still can't believe it says hey
- 1:11:28the messages. I I'm very curious to see what
- 1:11:32some of the reviews are for this to know why people don't like
- 1:11:36it. Yeah, OK.
- 1:11:40Who did you relate to? I guess I probably related to I
- 1:11:49guess just the girl in science class is like, hey, can you
- 1:11:52please be quiet? I'm trying to do my work.
- 1:11:54Yeah, I forgot about that. Yeah.
- 1:11:57Like just like, hey, yeah, like you guys are having a full
- 1:12:00conversation at full volume and it's kind at least whisper.
- 1:12:03Oh, also forgot end credits D&D. Totally fine.
- 1:12:07They were just watching the the movie.
- 1:12:09Yeah, Bride of the Cannibals too.
- 1:12:10Yeah, which that's who I relate to is D&D because like, that is
- 1:12:14my type of night right there. Just watching that Bride of the
- 1:12:17Campbells too. Fuck yeah, it looked like it was
- 1:12:20a fun movie too. Yeah, it seems like a fun time.
- 1:12:22Yeah, OK. What did Talia think of it?
- 1:12:27Talia was pretty sleepy by the time we got to this last night.
- 1:12:30But then she was having like some party moments.
- 1:12:32So she was like kind of on and off, like she'd have her burst
- 1:12:34of energy and then you know, she'd need to go rest.
- 1:12:37And she was, you know, she snores pretty loudly.
- 1:12:40Yes, I think Talia is going to, because Talia understands the
- 1:12:45implication of spreading, like how quickly stuff like this can
- 1:12:49spread, because she does in fact like to lick all over people
- 1:12:53and. She said that through COVID.
- 1:12:56Exactly. So she's like, I think that this
- 1:12:59is pretty scary. It's realistic.
- 1:13:01I'm not so much sure that this is how quickly it would spread,
- 1:13:04but it is in fact a terrifying implicate.
- 1:13:06A terrifying thought experiment to have, you know.
- 1:13:12That is an interesting thing because you think you hear about
- 1:13:16some of these diseases that are highly contagious and highly
- 1:13:18deadly, like this one is. But The thing is, a lot of times
- 1:13:21with those diseases, they have a terrible spread rate because
- 1:13:24they kill the person that's carrying the disease so fast
- 1:13:28that they don't have a chance to spread it.
- 1:13:30But this happened at a prom. Yeah.
- 1:13:32And they contained it pretty well.
- 1:13:35But once it got into that water supply also, yeah, that's this
- 1:13:38fucking game over. It's going to so many people.
- 1:13:41Yeah, and this is just one example.
- 1:13:43Like, you know that down home water didn't only sell their
- 1:13:45water to the school. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:13:47Like we're not even seeing the other stories of what?
- 1:13:48Happened. It's happening at home.
- 1:13:49So yeah, all over the place. So I think Ty's gonna give this
- 1:13:54a 10 out of 10. OK, I think this this properly
- 1:13:56frightened her. I I agree.
- 1:13:58And Zoe? Who do you think Zoe thought was
- 1:14:02the most superior hunter? Man, I guess she probably, I
- 1:14:13would like for her to have thought that the party cop was
- 1:14:16great, but I think she probably really respects Mark's ability
- 1:14:19to like fuck shit up like he like was like at home training.
- 1:14:22It's like when she is like fighting herself in the yeah,
- 1:14:25yeah, her reflection. She might be training.
- 1:14:29See. And I was going to posit Party
- 1:14:31Cop on my end of things because he does the sleuthing around and
- 1:14:35the sneaking and the stealthiness, but he also does
- 1:14:38get distracted and he enjoys a good pancake.
- 1:14:40That's true. So he's taking the time to like
- 1:14:43refuel and everything, which we never seen Mark do.
- 1:14:46That's true, yeah. So I think, I think Party Cop
- 1:14:49gets the edge just because of the food factor.
- 1:14:51OK, let's go with Party Cop. Cool.
- 1:14:54Dream sequel. Yes, stream sequel.
- 1:14:57I'm gonna be really honest, like, I don't know how you can
- 1:14:59easily do a sequel. I think you have to do what are
- 1:15:02they called? Like a side quo, like something
- 1:15:03that's happening at the same time as all of this.
- 1:15:06Well, I don't know. See, here's the thing.
- 1:15:09Party cop got out of town. He didn't, though, because he
- 1:15:12has Cassie in the back of the truck with him and his cousin.
- 1:15:14We don't know that though. No, we see her get in.
- 1:15:17No, we don't know what happens from there.
- 1:15:19OK, so you want to continue following party cops then?
- 1:15:22Yeah, because all we see is them drive off, like something could
- 1:15:24happen in the van where they get the fuck out of there and they
- 1:15:28just like abandoned her. Hear me out.
- 1:15:32He's got some weird genetic thing where he is immune immune.
- 1:15:36Him and his cousin, they take her to the hospital.
- 1:15:39Chaos starts happening in the hospital.
- 1:15:41So we get this setting things going haywire, and him and his
- 1:15:45cousin are just like, what the fuck is going on, man?
- 1:15:48And they can't leave because obviously, like, things get
- 1:15:51locked down and they're just like wandering around like Shaun
- 1:15:56of the Dead style. Just kind of fumble it through
- 1:15:58it all. I'm going to take a page from
- 1:16:01The Last of Us here, and this is from the game.
- 1:16:05I don't know anything about the show, so I'm not trying to spoil
- 1:16:07anything, but the thing with that is he's taking care of this
- 1:16:12girl who is immune to the disease.
- 1:16:16And in order to cure the whole world, and they have to kill
- 1:16:20her. They have to like you know, like
- 1:16:23autopsy and she like inspect her body find out what it is exactly
- 1:16:26that's causing the immunity. I.
- 1:16:28Think you could probably do some testing without killing her.
- 1:16:30Well, here's the thing. You guys tell a compelling story
- 1:16:32and that's how you. Do it.
- 1:16:33Yeah, I get it. I get it.
- 1:16:34I'm just immediately, I'm like, I feel like there's probably a
- 1:16:37less dramatic first option. So here's my suggestion.
- 1:16:42They want to do the same with party cop.
- 1:16:43They they have to kill Party Cop to cure the disease.
- 1:16:47Party Cop is selfish. He just wants to continue
- 1:16:50partying. He doesn't want to die.
- 1:16:52He his. It's about his journey of
- 1:16:54escaping and trying to get away from that.
- 1:16:58I want to see them actually capture him and he winds up in a
- 1:17:01bunker like in the beginning of Pineapple Express and they like
- 1:17:04convince him to let him do testing by giving him weed.
- 1:17:08Yeah, that would be cool. There's a lot of things you
- 1:17:10could do with it. It could be.
- 1:17:11It could be fun. And then he kind of slowly
- 1:17:13morphs into pill hater and then we just start kind.
- 1:17:16Of Look, man, I'm not going to get sick of party cops, so I'm
- 1:17:21very much biased towards the sequel, OK?
- 1:17:23So yeah, let's do it. Let's fucking do it.
- 1:17:25OK. All right.
- 1:17:27Tagline. Tagline.
- 1:17:31So it was this time. It's spreading.
- 1:17:33What's the original? It gets under your skin.
- 1:17:39I like it gets under your skin. I'm just thinking of the
- 1:17:43fingernail. Yeah, so stupid.
- 1:17:47Something about like in high school rumors spread quickly.
- 1:17:53This spreads faster. I kind of like that for like a
- 1:17:58prom, like high school movie. Yeah, like and it lets you know
- 1:18:01that it's like gonna be involved in a school.
- 1:18:05Cuz you don't actually know spring fever.
- 1:18:07I thought was gonna be like spring break I.
- 1:18:08Don't know which one to go with. I like them both.
- 1:18:10It's gonna flip a coin. Whichever one wins is the one
- 1:18:13I'm gonna go with all. Right guys, you'll see what the
- 1:18:16end result for the new tag light is on the art.
- 1:18:21Yeah. OK.
- 1:18:23Now time for review. OK, I'm very curious to hear
- 1:18:27reasons why people don't like this movie.
- 1:18:30Well see, I didn't know how you felt.
- 1:18:32I thought that you might have liked it.
- 1:18:33So I did go with the one that was negative and this is
- 1:18:36somebody that came out of seeing it at the Fantasy Film Fest, so
- 1:18:40before it had its DVD release. OK, I've seen Cabin Fever Two at
- 1:18:45Fantasy Film Fest and it was the worst movie I've seen in a long
- 1:18:49time. The acting was beyond horrible,
- 1:18:51the story was non existent and the dialogue was a nightmare.
- 1:18:55As for the gore, well it wasn't funny.
- 1:18:57Disgusting like some scenes in the first one, but just
- 1:19:00disgusting. If you like breasts full of
- 1:19:02eczema or if you love watching pus come out of a guy's penis,
- 1:19:07this is your movie. There was 1 funny scene that
- 1:19:10cameo by Judah Friedelander, 30 Rock and that's the guy.
- 1:19:15Yeah, yeah, and a fairly entertaining 3 minute appearance
- 1:19:19by an almost unrecognizable writer, strong at the beginning
- 1:19:22of the movie. But that's about it.
- 1:19:23If this movie will ever come out on DVD or even gets into
- 1:19:26cinemas, trust me and avoid it. Even if you like me, really like
- 1:19:30the first one. Here's the thing, though, is
- 1:19:33that there's definitely a story to this.
- 1:19:35I I'd say as much of A story as the first one.
- 1:19:39Yeah. I mean, like, I I agree.
- 1:19:41It's very much a story that's a bunch of kids that are going to
- 1:19:44prom and then like the prom is contaminated by the infection
- 1:19:48from the first one that spreads to the water supply.
- 1:19:50I think that that's a really good story.
- 1:19:52And honestly though, I do think that there are some funny
- 1:19:54moments with the core, like the one couple that's slow dancing
- 1:19:57and then they're just like vomiting.
- 1:19:59Into each other. Yeah, how do you not find that?
- 1:20:02If you like gore, If you're a gore person, how do you not find
- 1:20:05that hilarious? I feel like some people probably
- 1:20:08laughed at Alex super gluing his fingernail back too.
- 1:20:11I was disturbed by it, but I can see people finding that funny.
- 1:20:14We're like, you know, like I said at the beginning, the bus
- 1:20:16driver, like just trying to wipe away the blood.
- 1:20:18From his hitting Rider, Strong like straight up like that, I
- 1:20:22feel like was kind of played comically.
- 1:20:23I don't know, man. I just, I it just feels like
- 1:20:26somebody who's loyal to the first one and doesn't like this
- 1:20:30follow up, which is fine. If you feel that way, it's fine.
- 1:20:34I just don't, I don't understand those arguments because I do
- 1:20:38think that they're funny. It's interesting.
- 1:20:40I guess this person wanted it to be.
- 1:20:43They wanted it to be more cabin fever one like the producers
- 1:20:46did. And then instead you get a
- 1:20:47little bit of Ty West and you get a little bit of producer
- 1:20:50stuff here and then this is what we get.
- 1:20:53This is just like with Hello Mary Lou last week.
- 1:20:55Like, I don't care that it's not related to the first one because
- 1:20:58it's fun. But it is related to the first.
- 1:21:01One yeah, this is more related to the first one than Hello Mary
- 1:21:04Lou was to Prom Night. Like, I don't get it's a it's a
- 1:21:08continuation of the story. You can't follow those
- 1:21:11characters from the first one because they're dead, except for
- 1:21:14Rider Strong, who immediately dies.
- 1:21:17And like, I get letting people do their own thing, but like,
- 1:21:21there are a lot of, like, media types out there, like where an
- 1:21:26editor is there and they correct shit that people do.
- 1:21:30And, you know, the creative mind might not agree with it, but
- 1:21:34like, a lot of times, sometimes that stuff makes for a better
- 1:21:37product. Like, it might not be what you
- 1:21:39wanted, but it might make it a better movie.
- 1:21:41And that could have been the case with this right here.
- 1:21:43Like Ty West's, like what Ty W would have wanted.
- 1:21:47And there might not have been what this movie needed to be
- 1:21:50good. Yeah, I'm very, I am very
- 1:21:53curious of what his original product looked like.
- 1:21:57Yeah, me too. Like some of my favorite things
- 1:21:59have been things where like like a lot of Dragon Ball, some of
- 1:22:03the best moments that happen and that are because he wanted to do
- 1:22:07something and his editor was like, no, don't do that.
- 1:22:09You change it right now and then he changes it and it's better.
- 1:22:12I mean, I've said it before. There are plenty of times that
- 1:22:16Stephen King books needed to be edited down, and he when he was
- 1:22:19in the height of his fame, his editor was afraid to tell him to
- 1:22:23tone. It down.
- 1:22:23That's the thing that happens once you get too fart smelly.
- 1:22:26You get high on your supply like people become yes men and they
- 1:22:30don't tell you no. And I get it because they're
- 1:22:32definitely like we're both creative people and we both do
- 1:22:35things. And I get it from the
- 1:22:38perspective of like, this is the vision I had.
- 1:22:42And it feels, especially if you're somebody like Ty W who
- 1:22:44takes it very personally, I can see that I don't wanna
- 1:22:48compromise on my vision. But you do sometimes have to
- 1:22:52maybe take some feedback and see if there's a good compromise to
- 1:22:56be had, or maybe understand where somebody's coming from and
- 1:22:58that your vision is not coming across the way maybe you
- 1:23:02intended. Yeah, I don't necessarily like,
- 1:23:04I don't blame them for that. And like, I respect that.
- 1:23:07But like The thing is, this is a from a company.
- 1:23:09This is a product. That's what this thing is like.
- 1:23:12It's not like movies are like a form of art, but they're also
- 1:23:16products and you know. Well, and The thing is too,
- 1:23:19like, I get it, the director, like, has this vision, is
- 1:23:22responsible for putting all of these pieces together and
- 1:23:24everything. But ultimately, like, it's not
- 1:23:26just his movie. They're so there are dozens on
- 1:23:32the smaller projects, dozens of people involved, if not hundreds
- 1:23:35on larger projects like. Yeah, I mean, there was like two
- 1:23:39other writers. Credit.
- 1:23:40Yeah, there are a lot of people involved here and it's it's, you
- 1:23:44know, it's a lot. And then this is an interesting
- 1:23:46discussion to have about like, you know this film as a medium
- 1:23:52in general, like you know whose product is it at the end of the
- 1:23:55day. And I know that this was a
- 1:23:57discussion that a lot of people had about Buffy when all the
- 1:24:00stuff with Joss was, you know, being talked about a lot.
- 1:24:04And they're like, you know, ultimately at the end of the
- 1:24:05day, this wasn't just Joss's show like this was, you know,
- 1:24:10this was there were multiple writers and producers.
- 1:24:12We have all of the cast here who were putting their hearts and
- 1:24:15souls into it like. That's the thing that at the
- 1:24:17end. Of the day it's not.
- 1:24:18You can't just call it his show because there's so many people
- 1:24:21here. That's the thing that I hate for
- 1:24:24people whenever. Like, I'm going to just say
- 1:24:27this, like, call me out on it if you want, but like, jeepers,
- 1:24:30Creepers, like, it fucking sucks.
- 1:24:32Like that dude is a terrible person and I understand why
- 1:24:35people don't want to support that.
- 1:24:37But so many other people that didn't do terrible shit worked
- 1:24:41hard on that movie, and it's a fun movie that it's just tainted
- 1:24:45by this terrible thing that happened.
- 1:24:48Yeah. And as a result of that like
- 1:24:51it's kind of. Thing that a person did that got
- 1:24:53away with and it's awful and it's appalling.
- 1:24:57Yeah, I don't want to say that, like, but like, it sucks for the
- 1:25:00other people because it's a fucking team.
- 1:25:02Yeah, Justin Long's performance in it is amazing.
- 1:25:06I'm not. Even talking about that people
- 1:25:07behind the. Camera.
- 1:25:08Yeah. I talk about people behind the
- 1:25:09camera, too. I'm just saying like that is one
- 1:25:11of like that's a really good performance from him early on in
- 1:25:14his career and it sucks that like.
- 1:25:16Yeah, I know. It's like his introduction as
- 1:25:18Scream King I. Think yeah, and like, you know
- 1:25:21it. Like with the Harry Potter books
- 1:25:23and movies, they mean so much to so many people.
- 1:25:26And I read somewhere that somebody was like, well, we're
- 1:25:30just getting divorced from JK and we're keeping the kids.
- 1:25:36Yeah, that's how people think of it because.
- 1:25:39And that's the other thing about art that I think we've talked
- 1:25:41about too, is that once it's released to an audience, the
- 1:25:43audience has its own interpretation and its own
- 1:25:46meaning and its own experience with it.
- 1:25:49That is completely different from maybe what the creator ever
- 1:25:53meant for there to be. Yeah.
- 1:25:55So yeah, it's this is a whole, it's a real complicated thing
- 1:25:59when you start looking at all of it.
- 1:26:01And I hate that Ty W hates this so much because I think it's so
- 1:26:04much fun. I know.
- 1:26:05Me too. It's a bummer.
- 1:26:06But whatever, man. It's as prerogative.
- 1:26:08It's, you know. Yeah, and I can totally get
- 1:26:10being unhappy with the product that came out, but I I love it
- 1:26:14for whoever made the decisions that were made.
- 1:26:16And you know, if he says he doesn't want credit for the
- 1:26:18final product, that's fine. They appealed to us.
- 1:26:21Yeah, it appealed to us, whoever did the certain things, and some
- 1:26:23of those are definitely a Thai W flair, you know what I mean?
- 1:26:26We've watched enough of this stuff to know like his.
- 1:26:28Hand in it, you can see his fingerprints all over this movie
- 1:26:31in certain parts. But yeah, there are definitely
- 1:26:34parts where you can tell it's maybe not exactly his call.
- 1:26:37Yeah, but I mean, definitely his sense of humor is throughout
- 1:26:41this well. I'm just gonna read the one
- 1:26:43listener review we had which is very relevant to what we were
- 1:26:46talking about here and we don't have to necessarily elaborate
- 1:26:48anymore cuz we already did. But it's Cube saves from
- 1:26:51Instagram who says weirdest Thai West movie.
- 1:26:53And it's probably for a very good reason, as we've already
- 1:26:56talked about. Yeah, and I mean, and that's
- 1:26:59saying something because Thai W movies tend to just kind of be
- 1:27:02weird. Generally, yeah, they're very
- 1:27:04strange. Yeah, and that's not a bad
- 1:27:07thing. He's got his, he's got his own
- 1:27:10flavor and that's good. But yeah.
- 1:27:13Yeah. All right.
- 1:27:15Well, that's it for the show, is it for this one?
- 1:27:19For this week. Yeah, And next week we're we're
- 1:27:22going to a college dance. We're going up a little bit.
- 1:27:27We're also going to be Stan Vinis again.
- 1:27:30Oh yeah. Because we're talking about the
- 1:27:33Prowler. Oh man, that's one that we
- 1:27:35wanted to talk about for a while.
- 1:27:37So it's cool that we finally get to do so.
- 1:27:39Yeah, it's currently on to be Fandango at home prime AMC plus.
- 1:27:44I'm assuming that means it's also on shutter right now.
- 1:27:46Yeah, probably. Shutter doesn't come up on my
- 1:27:48goo Google search for whatever reason.
- 1:27:50OK, YouTube Primetime, Sling TV Premium and YouTube TV Premium.
- 1:27:56Yeah, so it's on a couple of the free ones like Tubi and
- 1:27:59Fandango. So definitely watch this if you
- 1:28:01haven't seen it. If you have seen it, watch it
- 1:28:02again cuz it's fun. It is on shutter.
- 1:28:05OK, it is on shutter. That means that you can also
- 1:28:08watch the Joe Bob Original The Shutter Marathon.
- 1:28:11That's when this was shown. So if you wanna watch the movie
- 1:28:15plus Joe Bob commentary, just go ahead and plug that in right
- 1:28:19there. Yeah, and those are shorter

- 1:28:24Yeah, yeah, not as in depth. Yeah, I'll see if I can find.
- 1:28:28I don't know if it transferred over to my new phone, but during
- 1:28:31the first time we watch, we did a re watch of the marathon with
- 1:28:36a bunch of peeps on Twitter and I was plugging Talia into all of
- 1:28:41the posters. And by the time in the night we
- 1:28:44got to this one, it was a little weird and we were pretty slab
- 1:28:48happy and there were the edits were getting really weird.
