- 0:04Speaker 1: NHL Unscripted is a production of the NHL and iHeart podcasts.
- 0:19Speaker 2: And we are back here an NHL Unscripted episode number
- 0:22Speaker 2: thirty two. What a guest we got today?
- 0:24Speaker 1: This is a talent special Joe bart Normally it talics
- 0:27Speaker 1: to go two guests tow but he said, you know what,
- 0:29Speaker 1: he gets center states this time. Bartnick a terrific comedian.
- 0:32Speaker 1: He's done stand up with Bill Burr and he's a
- 0:34Speaker 1: massive Pittsburgh Penguins fan. You're gonna like Joon his stories
- 0:37Speaker 1: of being a fan of the Penguins and all things hockey.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And of course, when it comes to the Found sixty
- 0:43Speaker 1: at long Last, Jad's wife Chilian murder taking center stage
- 0:46Speaker 1: in Porto, we begin with the.
- 0:50Speaker 2: News that the Florida Panthers have moved on.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Let's right, the cat came back defending champion back in
- 0:54Speaker 1: the Cup final. If you're limiting the Hurricanes in five,
- 0:56Speaker 1: Carolina finally wins. They won Game four for losing fifteen
- 0:59Speaker 1: straight conference final games.
- 1:01Speaker 2: But an interesting game five. JD.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Carolyn is up to you go, oh, I guess we
- 1:05Speaker 1: have a series, but it's gonna be prolonged a little bit.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And Florida wakes up.
- 1:08Speaker 1: They snapped three Carolina ties it for Hagey scores seven
- 1:12Speaker 1: thirty nine left. Bennett scores the empty netter, and the
- 1:14Speaker 1: Panthers punched their ticket back to the final. Sasha Barkoff
- 1:18Speaker 1: among the stars. As I was listing on the Raider
- 1:20Speaker 1: driving and listening to John Forsland, a Selky winner in
- 1:22Speaker 1: the past, he was great. As the Panthers are back
- 1:25Speaker 1: where they belong, third straight Cup Final.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Unbelievable stuff. Carolina Hurricanes, they are who they thought we were,
- 1:34Speaker 3: or we we thought who they thought they.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Well, how much for me a Cup with? You want
- 1:37Speaker 2: the fact that you picked the Hurricanes to win?
- 1:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I said at the end. A few
- 1:41Speaker 3: moments later you heard that that they're a wagon. So
- 1:44Speaker 3: I was right both ways. I did the claude. I
- 1:47Speaker 3: did the claude. Juliet. Uh, just say everything that's possible
- 1:50Speaker 3: that could happen in the game, and when it happens,
- 1:52Speaker 3: you just say I was right and I told you so.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So everybody at home, I told you so, They're a wagon.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Half and half fifty percent wrong, fifty percent right. But
- 2:01Speaker 3: I mean they listen, they came out swinging and then
- 2:05Speaker 3: again power play goal against that they're penalty killed and
- 2:10Speaker 3: fantastic up until that point. Those last few games with
- 2:13Speaker 3: Sam Ryan Heart's back in the lineup affects a little
- 2:16Speaker 3: bit of change. The PK looked bad early on, and
- 2:19Speaker 3: then I sorry, the PK looked good early on, and
- 2:21Speaker 3: then they try to get that clear. Ref gets a
- 2:23Speaker 3: piece of it, and then all of a sudden they
- 2:26Speaker 3: go to work and x plaid obviously to who you
- 2:28Speaker 3: know who, Matthewuck kuld Chuck tips it in and then
- 2:33Speaker 3: it seemed like Jordan Martin, who's a little frustrated. They
- 2:35Speaker 3: end up running around on some neutral zone play a
- 2:39Speaker 3: little giving goal. All of a sudden it's too too
- 2:41Speaker 3: and then Bob's your uncle. Florida Panthers just start kind
- 2:44Speaker 3: of suffocating you, you know, and it's so crazy that
- 2:50Speaker 3: this team does it again. And they're in rarefied air
- 2:54Speaker 3: right now, the Florida Panthers, And I don't want to
- 2:57Speaker 3: talk so much about Caroline and what they did and
- 3:00Speaker 3: you know how they fell flat. More of like a
- 3:01Speaker 3: celebration of what Florida's done and the culture they've built
- 3:05Speaker 3: in three straight years. Listen to doesn't matter the record
- 3:09Speaker 3: you see against Carolina, Like it's not Carolina's fault. This
- 3:12Speaker 3: team is just that good and what they've done and
- 3:16Speaker 3: year over year, I mean, the only other team in
- 3:19Speaker 3: the cap Air to go three straight years of the
- 3:21Speaker 3: finals of the Tampa Bay Lightning. And it's crazy. This
- 3:24Speaker 3: Florida is now the state of hockey and it is
- 3:28Speaker 3: no longer Minnesota. They've taken control and you know, taxes,
- 3:32Speaker 3: no state income tax, whatever you want to say, you
- 3:35Speaker 3: still got to win those games. And man, they have
- 3:38Speaker 3: done it in spades. And you know, you look at
- 3:41Speaker 3: the guys on this team, the Sam Bennett's, the Matthew Chucks,
- 3:45Speaker 3: you know, the Seth jones is, the Nico Mikolas, the
- 3:48Speaker 3: cerge Bbrovski's. But it begins, it ends with Sasha Barkoff,
- 3:53Speaker 3: who is the leader of that team. And you know,
- 3:55Speaker 3: Aaron Eklad who's the longest tenured d man that's been
- 3:58Speaker 3: there for so long. And these guys have led the
- 4:00Speaker 3: way and went through the bumps and bruises and the
- 4:03Speaker 3: hardships and they're now three straight years in the finals.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Just built an absolute fucking monster of a culture.
- 4:09Speaker 1: To the two larger points, you were making six straight
- 4:11Speaker 1: year team from Florida is in the still like a file,
- 4:14Speaker 1: which is pretty wild Lightning and the Panthers. And again
- 4:16Speaker 1: in terms of just big pictures since nineteen seventy nine
- 4:19Speaker 1: nineteen eighty, this is now the third teen to make
- 4:22Speaker 1: three straight Cup finals. You expect that when it comes
- 4:24Speaker 1: to the Islanders and the Oilers, but the Lightning is
- 4:27Speaker 1: well and the Panthers in that mix.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Pretty amazing to think about it.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And just one final thought in the series, as you said,
- 4:31Speaker 1: we're not u nelecessarily diminishing Carolina but celebrating Florida. They
- 4:35Speaker 1: won all three games in rawling the series. Their road
- 4:37Speaker 1: winning streak is now five games and their eighth postseason
- 4:40Speaker 1: road win. Overall, that to me is what stands out,
- 4:42Speaker 1: just the mental fortitude of this team. And Sam Benefit
- 4:45Speaker 1: the way now leads all playoff goal scorers with ten.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I know it was an empty nettery cut of the box,
- 4:49Speaker 1: but still.
- 4:49Speaker 3: That doesn't matter. He's got to get that empty innor
- 4:52Speaker 3: But have you seen the road goals four they've scored.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I think they've scored at least five, and all these
- 4:57Speaker 3: road wins, I think they are just putting the goddamn
- 5:00Speaker 3: puck in the net. I mean big loss with you
- 5:02Speaker 3: two los Arne and they're going down. That's a big loss,
- 5:05Speaker 3: you know. And he's been great on that third line.
- 5:09Speaker 3: But man, oh man, these guys just know how to win.
- 5:12Speaker 3: And Sam Bennett, I mean, what's this fucking guy gonna
- 5:15Speaker 3: get paid? You just gotta you gotta get this guy
- 5:18Speaker 3: to the playoffs. And he is a monster. Man. Why
- 5:21Speaker 3: forget about the empty night like he was effective all game,
- 5:24Speaker 3: just going to the net, good plays, blocking shots, hitting guys.
- 5:27Speaker 3: It's it's it's amazing. It's a sight to see and
- 5:30Speaker 3: this team is Congratulations, we got our first I'm going
- 5:33Speaker 3: to Florida for the finals.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Nice.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It's huge, buddy, It's gonna be awesome on the road.
- 5:37Speaker 1: As Jason Mursey there potentially Talponchewsky. We're not sure if
- 5:41Speaker 1: you can let tal go wild on the streets of
- 5:43Speaker 1: Edmonton potentially or Dallas or Florida.
- 5:45Speaker 2: We'll find out.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Stars Oilers Game four listen. Oilers entered Game five the
- 5:49Speaker 1: Western Conference Final on Thursday.
- 5:51Speaker 2: One win. Shy Of advanced the Stack.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Cup Final for the second straight year. They won Game
- 5:55Speaker 1: four and Tuesday four to one. Thanks to everyone's favorite,
- 5:57Speaker 1: forty year old Corey Perry coming through. Just to finish
- 5:59Speaker 1: your point, by the way, five plus goals seven of
- 6:01Speaker 1: the last eight.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Road games to the Panthers. To your point, they are
- 6:04Speaker 2: high scoring.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, see, give me calling stats out of my ass.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You're on it.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Perry was one of four Oilers at two points, along
- 6:10Speaker 1: with McDavid, Leon, Dry Style, Ryan Nusian Hopkins. But how
- 6:13Speaker 1: it's two Skinner the clip that we posted on social media,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you're calling him the greatest goalie in hockey history.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Because Stewart Skinner is the greatest goalie.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Great the skin Man, Mister skin.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Mister skin is now five and oh with a nine
- 6:31Speaker 1: f three save percentage in two shutouts.
- 6:34Speaker 2: He's in the conspipe conversation. That's not a joke.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Mister skin man, give me a dream bus the same
- 6:44Speaker 3: I don't give a ship. Don't listen. Then don't listen,
- 6:49Speaker 3: mister skin man, give me a dream bump bump, bump, bump.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I got a fever. What's that? The fact he's in
- 6:57Speaker 3: the con no, I I listen. If Edmonton, If Edmonton
- 7:01Speaker 3: does it, you gotta think David Nick Jesus, you know,
- 7:05Speaker 3: I think the only goalie that could probably win it's
- 7:07Speaker 3: Bob setge.
- 7:09Speaker 2: McDavid leaves playoff scores with twenty four, Leon second with
- 7:12Speaker 2: twenty three, So you're right, one of those two guys
- 7:14Speaker 2: gonna get it. Thatton goes you.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Look, they got four of the five, four of the
- 7:17Speaker 3: five top guys in scoring in the NHL playoffs. Right now,
- 7:21Speaker 3: that is your core four. Grebout your Toronto Maple aughs.
- 7:25Speaker 3: That's your core four right there. Jesus, But I think
- 7:28Speaker 3: it's mcjesus, or it's probably you know, if it's a goalie,
- 7:31Speaker 3: it's Bob. I mean, you could even throw Sam Bennett
- 7:33Speaker 3: in the mix. Right now. I like it, And you know,
- 7:36Speaker 3: I don't know about Barkoff. I don't think offensively the
- 7:39Speaker 3: numbers have jumped out enough. But like right now, for me,
- 7:42Speaker 3: if Edmonton wins, it's Bob or McDavid, because that's just
- 7:46Speaker 3: the two that I see. Just because McDavid defensively these playoffs,
- 7:50Speaker 3: playing the p k and shit, he's been very good
- 7:53Speaker 3: on both sides of the puck.
- 7:55Speaker 2: And before we put the horse before the car, to
- 7:56Speaker 2: the car.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Before the horse, I should say, ever you want, can.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Dallas come back from three to one down? Because we're
- 8:02Speaker 1: already talking about constantly to edon win'.
- 8:04Speaker 3: You know the stat of them when they're four, when
- 8:06Speaker 3: they're down three to one, it's like, oh and seventeen
- 8:09Speaker 3: and series, so they have not won one in seventeen the.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Game four was there at third game seven when they
- 8:15Speaker 1: lost that game and only score.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and that was God, was that a piss poor
- 8:18Speaker 3: effort in the third period where they have four shots,
- 8:20Speaker 3: it's like ge and credit to Dallas. They are not
- 8:23Speaker 3: credit to Edmonton. They're locking it down. Man, this you
- 8:26Speaker 3: cannot say. No, they're not even giving them shots. They're
- 8:28Speaker 3: not even they're not even testing the skin Man. And
- 8:31Speaker 3: you you're telling me you're gonna come to the skin
- 8:34Speaker 3: Man in game four and put up four shots in
- 8:36Speaker 3: the third period, mister skin you can't. He's missed game four,
- 8:41Speaker 3: he's six and oh in game four is this guy
- 8:43Speaker 3: is a stud and you're.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Close to that stat very impressive off the top of
- 8:47Speaker 1: your head, stars and sixteen when down three and one.
- 8:50Speaker 3: So I am on fuego today.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I agree, come off the top of your head. Let's
- 8:53Speaker 1: call Marty turk Walp. He'll be like, this is unbelievable
- 8:55Speaker 1: and let's.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Give me more stats. Let me let this where we.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Can discuss more of the couple actually said, I wanted
- 9:01Speaker 1: to mention this to you though, and it's show coaching carousel.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Flew Shinzawa great handle of the athletic here reports the
- 9:08Speaker 1: Bruins coaching come to a close. How with US Ontario
- 9:10Speaker 1: Rain head coach, former Bruin Marco Sturm and Capitol's assistant
- 9:14Speaker 1: Mitch Love among the final candidates.
- 9:16Speaker 2: All you need is love.
- 9:17Speaker 1: We talked with these coaching retreads names here all the time.
- 9:20Speaker 1: What are you with the Bruins potentially go a little
- 9:21Speaker 1: off the board. I know, we know how Marcus Sturm
- 9:23Speaker 1: is what I'm saying, hasn't been proven necessarily as an
- 9:25Speaker 1: NHL coach or Mitch Love you like it, Boston Zaggan
- 9:28Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I mean, I think that's what they need. I think
- 9:32Speaker 3: you know the coach and I think Jay Woodcraft was
- 9:34Speaker 3: the other guy that was listed there. And I don't
- 9:36Speaker 3: know if you made but Marco Sterm coaching Ontario Rain
- 9:39Speaker 3: I did a great job. I'm a little nervous that
- 9:41Speaker 3: he's been coaching the one three one for a little
- 9:44Speaker 3: too long and not going to see another one of
- 9:46Speaker 3: those fucking things coming out there. Coaching, the one, the
- 9:49Speaker 3: old one, twah, the old one twa. Yes, let's just
- 9:56Speaker 3: go two guys aggressive, everybody pinching. Come on you either
- 10:00Speaker 3: winning by six or losing by six? Come on, come on,
- 10:03Speaker 3: no one three one come Also.
- 10:05Speaker 2: There's been some other assistant coaches. Again, we don't need
- 10:07Speaker 2: to go deeper.
- 10:08Speaker 3: That's Mitch Love though, by the way, Mitch Love highly
- 10:10Speaker 3: toweded candidate as well.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Capitol's assistant. Maybe he'll get his chance again. So there's
- 10:13Speaker 1: been some assistants as well. Brad Shaw, the former Flyers
- 10:16Speaker 1: intrim head coach. He'll now joins Sheldon Keith. We don't
- 10:19Speaker 1: need to go to that. Mike Peca going to Chicago,
- 10:21Speaker 1: joined Jeff Bloschell' staff. So lots of movies being me
- 10:23Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 10:23Speaker 3: Are are we now doing? Assistant coaches up the point
- 10:28Speaker 3: we're reduced to this shit.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I'm so glad you pointed, because Tal'll put it in there,
- 10:31Speaker 1: and I was reading it ahead to.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Me because well, you don't need to get into that.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I got, well, then I don't really need to have
- 10:35Speaker 1: it the notes then, but I thought I would mention
- 10:36Speaker 1: it just to a peace tell well, the oiler has
- 10:38Speaker 1: been anticipating the return defensive Matisas at home for a while.
- 10:41Speaker 1: We talked about that. Originally was he's out for the
- 10:42Speaker 1: first round, out for the second. What's gonna happen now,
- 10:44Speaker 1: Zach Hyman? Hyman has been broken left came forth to
- 10:48Speaker 1: taking a hit to the right shoulder for Mason Marchmont
- 10:50Speaker 1: getting surgery, likely out for the rest of the postseason.
- 10:53Speaker 2: How big a loss is this, my friend?
- 10:57Speaker 3: But as big as the sponsorships are gonna lose after
- 10:59Speaker 3: that comment, I mean, their depth has been everything in Edmond.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Okay, continue, So Hymen's injury, how much of an impacting
- 11:11Speaker 1: this is gonna have?
- 11:13Speaker 3: I mean it's enormous. I think he's been so good
- 11:16Speaker 3: for them. I mean, triple digit hits, He's been everything.
- 11:19Speaker 3: He's been doing great, uh, in all facets of the game.
- 11:23Speaker 3: And I mean he does so many of the little
- 11:24Speaker 3: things that you don't talk about. And you know, we're
- 11:27Speaker 3: always talking about the Connors and the and the Leons,
- 11:30Speaker 3: and you know, him and Ryan de NuGen Hopkins have
- 11:32Speaker 3: been absolutely incredible this run. They've been excellent in every
- 11:35Speaker 3: facet of the game. They've become adaptable. You know, you
- 11:38Speaker 3: haven't really seen Hymen on the first power Play. It's
- 11:41Speaker 3: been more Corey Perry as of late, but he just
- 11:43Speaker 3: sloughts in where he's needed and and you know, that
- 11:46Speaker 3: injury is a tough one, and I feel like that
- 11:48Speaker 3: surgery was so fast that it must have been such
- 11:50Speaker 3: a big injury where they needed to get him, you know,
- 11:53Speaker 3: under the knife right away and just to it sucks
- 11:57Speaker 3: because you know, if they win this series, they get Florida.
- 12:00Speaker 3: It's like I wanted these guys fully healthy to face Florida.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I thought last year they were just too banged up.
- 12:06Speaker 3: And I think they could have taken him if they
- 12:08Speaker 3: weren't that injured. And you know, you lose a guy
- 12:10Speaker 3: like that, that's a horse, that's such a big body,
- 12:13Speaker 3: gets in the corners, that's what you need to beat
- 12:15Speaker 3: that decor of Florida that are just so suffocating and
- 12:19Speaker 3: can be so taxing, you know, physically. So it's more
- 12:23Speaker 3: of a question now with hymen outs, who comes in?
- 12:25Speaker 3: Do they go eleven and seven? Is this the moment
- 12:27Speaker 3: to bring Matias Comb back and put him as your
- 12:29Speaker 3: seven and maybe put Troy Stetcher up on the wing
- 12:32Speaker 3: because he has had some offensive he has some forward experience,
- 12:37Speaker 3: so there's a lot to figure out, and does jeff
- 12:40Speaker 3: Skinner get back in the lineup? Does the old the
- 12:42Speaker 3: other skin man? Yeah, the other skin man. Does he
- 12:46Speaker 3: make it in Jeffy Skinner, I don't know if he does,
- 12:49Speaker 3: so I think they're gonna go eleven and seven. It
- 12:51Speaker 3: seems like Chris Knablock alluded to that being an option,
- 12:54Speaker 3: especially in game one. So this opens the door. I mean,
- 12:58Speaker 3: you lose Connor Brown as well as Zach Hyman. That's
- 13:01Speaker 3: two motors on your team. That that I man that
- 13:04Speaker 3: it's tough to overcome. But this Edmonton Others team feels
- 13:07Speaker 3: a little bit different than the years past, and if
- 13:09Speaker 3: they can win and close this out now, all the
- 13:12Speaker 3: more reason these two conference finals, if they both end
- 13:15Speaker 3: in five to go back to the one to eight seeding.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Macdald was saying that as well.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean this has been tough, you know, like
- 13:23Speaker 3: Carolina kind of put up a fight, but Jude is
- 13:25Speaker 3: priest and Dallas as well.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I should say there's something different about the Oilers.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But one thing that has remained at constant is their
- 13:33Speaker 1: longest tenured player, Ryan Nusian Hopkins. It's average more than
- 13:36Speaker 1: a point per game in the playoffs sixteen points in
- 13:38Speaker 1: fourteen games, only as Ryceel McDavid have more five points
- 13:41Speaker 1: in his last two games.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Here's the stat for you. Who would have thought.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Nusion Hopkins and Wayne Gretzky in the same conversation. He
- 13:47Speaker 1: becomes just a second player in the Oilers playoff history
- 13:49Speaker 1: to put up multiple points in the first three games
- 13:52Speaker 1: of an NHL conference final or semi final. The other
- 13:55Speaker 1: one is Gretzky, who had four multi point outings to
- 13:58Speaker 1: start the nineteen eighty three conference final. I know you've
- 14:00Speaker 1: been impressed by RNH infecting the game at both ends
- 14:02Speaker 1: the ice right now. Even Stewart Skinner's goalie said he's
- 14:04Speaker 1: been able to be a two way player for us,
- 14:06Speaker 1: which has been huge.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Yeah, specifically on the power play where you know Dallas,
- 14:12Speaker 3: I think their game plan was, We're gonna let Ryan
- 14:15Speaker 3: nu Jenopkins beat us and beat us. He he he
- 14:19Speaker 3: shan't or he shall. Well, he has. He has beaten
- 14:22Speaker 3: the wheels off him on the power play because he
- 14:24Speaker 3: is just picking them apart, salacious passing by him. You know,
- 14:29Speaker 3: he absolutely put Cody Cec in a blender, turned it on.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Let him turn into a nice pure smoothie, pour it out,
- 14:36Speaker 3: put him back in, keep blending it up to it
- 14:38Speaker 3: was absolutely liquefied, piss and shit and for a nice
- 14:43Speaker 3: easy tap into Corey Perry. But yeah, he's been incredible.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I keep saying the word incredible. God get a synonym
- 14:49Speaker 3: for incredible, Jason, Geez, Louise, That's okay, he's been excellent.
- 14:54Speaker 3: He's been excellent.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Sal the notes puts output.
- 14:56Speaker 1: We're now incredibly close to rematch of Blaster, just like
- 14:58Speaker 1: a bottle an incredible series.
- 14:59Speaker 2: So don't worry. You saw the notes.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I feel like he's get me, man, It's like his notes,
- 15:05Speaker 3: just I'm stuck.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Tal's offering an exemplary Now, exemplar.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Exemplari is beautifully. I need you to just I need
- 15:12Speaker 3: you tell just to throw synonyms in the chat of
- 15:15Speaker 3: things I can say for incredible so I can start
- 15:17Speaker 3: using this. He's been exemplary, incredible this so far and
- 15:20Speaker 3: coming up next.
- 15:21Speaker 1: You're such a big fan of Joe Bartnick. You weren't
- 15:23Speaker 1: even a part of the interview, noted comedian.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I sometimes just my presence and him knowing that I'm
- 15:30Speaker 3: here is exactly he saw a diverse because I'm in
- 15:33Speaker 3: diverses in Okay, Yeah, I didn't want to steal his thunder.
- 15:36Speaker 2: So Joe takes center stage. Coming up next.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Noted comedian in a huge Penguins phase. You got great stories.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You're gonna love him. He's up next after this an
- 15:42Speaker 1: NHL and scripted Our next guest, hilarious comedian, writer and
- 15:59Speaker 1: actors tour just about everywhere performance of the most.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Prestigious venues in the country.
- 16:03Speaker 1: He appeared in a Bill BurrH comedy Old Dad's hosts
- 16:06Speaker 1: the puck Off podcast from All Things Comedy, Ladies and gentlemen,
- 16:10Speaker 1: it's Joe Barnik.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Joe, It's great to see him. Man, Thanks so much for.
- 16:12Speaker 4: The time they had. Now, how you doing well?
- 16:15Speaker 1: The fact that you're a Pittsburgh got a huge Penguins fan.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Let's get right into the state of the Penguins, Sidney Cross.
- 16:20Speaker 1: He can't go anywhere, right, Joe. He's too important to
- 16:23Speaker 1: the teams, the state of the franchise, and yet a
- 16:26Speaker 1: lot of money locked up with him and Malcolm and others.
- 16:29Speaker 2: What do you do right now after the Penguins this offseason.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Well, you're absolutely right, he can't go anywhere.
- 16:34Speaker 5: He is the franchise, the best thing is his heroes
- 16:37Speaker 5: are Mary Lemieux and Steve Eiserman, and what do they
- 16:40Speaker 5: have in common? Decides being champions on a franchige with
- 16:43Speaker 5: one franchise.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Uh.
- 16:45Speaker 5: But I think the money locked up is almost not
- 16:48Speaker 5: a myth, but just kind of wrong because Sid's obviously
- 16:51Speaker 5: worth his money in Gino's only making six to one,
- 16:56Speaker 5: and I think I had the numbers for my podcast
- 16:59Speaker 5: last week about numbers, but I think he was like
- 17:01Speaker 5: a scoring at a zero point seventy to one pace
- 17:04Speaker 5: last year, and then this year he was like aero
- 17:06Speaker 5: point five minutes.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I could be or I could probably look it up
- 17:08Speaker 4: real quick, but I won't.
- 17:11Speaker 2: But Italis are looking up for him. I keep going, eh,
- 17:13Speaker 2: but it's it's six' one.
- 17:15Speaker 4: You know, that's a good second line center pace. Now
- 17:18Speaker 4: it's not Hall of Famer Gino, but you can live
- 17:21Speaker 4: with that.
- 17:22Speaker 5: I think where money's locked up is with Latang and Carlson.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Seven point twenty five million. He's thirty eight years old.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Go ahead, yeah, you know, I think at you know,
- 17:33Speaker 5: Carlson and I think Latang.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I wish they could go.
- 17:36Speaker 5: And then at the bottom, you know, we have Hayes
- 17:38Speaker 5: and we have a chari on their retirement tour. I
- 17:41Speaker 5: you know, I went guys on the third and fourth
- 17:43Speaker 5: line that live in the practice facility, next, you know,
- 17:47Speaker 5: to the at the hotel next to the practice facility.
- 17:50Speaker 5: I went hungry guys. I don't want guys looking to
- 17:52Speaker 5: buy their second boat.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Well, it was so odd to see Joe because this
- 17:58Speaker 1: year like no Rangers in the playoffs, no Penguins, no
- 18:01Speaker 1: Red Wings, no Flyers, Like we're used to those types
- 18:04Speaker 1: of teams. Again, Pittsburgh is your team. What do you
- 18:06Speaker 1: make of the fact there's some new blood and yet
- 18:07Speaker 1: there's some returning faces Again, the Panthers are trying to
- 18:10Speaker 1: make the third shots Stanley Cup Final.
- 18:12Speaker 5: The Panthers are just, as they say, a wagon. I mean,
- 18:15Speaker 5: I don't see anybody being them because they just don't
- 18:17Speaker 5: seem like they're filled. You know, every time you think
- 18:19Speaker 5: they're dead, they're like the terminator. They keep coming back.
- 18:22Speaker 4: It is crazy.
- 18:22Speaker 5: The traditional markets, you know, even like Chicago, not even
- 18:26Speaker 5: their Chicago, Detroit, you know, Boston, just huge markets. But
- 18:30Speaker 5: you know, something to do with the sun Belt and
- 18:33Speaker 5: the tax code and the periperlation of good talent where
- 18:37Speaker 5: people there's just more talented guys, and hey, if you
- 18:39Speaker 5: have talent and look at the coaching, you're not gonna
- 18:42Speaker 5: beat the boor You're not gonna beat you know, Maurice.
- 18:48Speaker 5: You know, there's just guys that are just great coaches.
- 18:50Speaker 5: They get some talent and they're gonna be right there.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And you're definitely right about the Florida attracting. So no
- 18:54Speaker 1: state tax, go over the beach, no pressure from Canadian markets.
- 18:57Speaker 1: There's a lot of advantages there by the way, you're
- 18:59Speaker 1: right about the points. Malcolm is at points of a
- 19:01Speaker 1: four points per game talents confirmed, and Sid was at
- 19:03Speaker 1: one point one four. Both those guys still effective. As
- 19:06Speaker 1: you said, it's kind of the back end where that
- 19:07Speaker 1: salary gets a little bit more tricky.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Joe, he've been a different Mario Lemue charity events.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Obviously, Mario's somebody I deeply respected Meyer, not only as
- 19:14Speaker 1: a player but also overcoming Hodgkins.
- 19:16Speaker 2: What are those events like.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Well, those are I'm just in the dreamland. The first
- 19:23Speaker 5: time I did an event for Mario, it was literally
- 19:28Speaker 5: one of the guys on the show counted like forty
- 19:30Speaker 5: five Stanley Cup rings in the room. And that's not
- 19:34Speaker 5: even like assistant to the trainer. You know, that's like
- 19:37Speaker 5: Trochier and those types of folks. So it's just amazing.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Anytime you can be Mario adjacent is just incredible. You
- 19:47Speaker 5: know he's royalty and you know, hanging out with Reki
- 19:51Speaker 5: and you know Gary Roberts and Kevin Stevens. Just I mean,
- 19:56Speaker 5: it's like I pitched myself, Like How'd I get into this?
- 19:58Speaker 5: This is fantastic.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a fun ara of hockey.
- 20:00Speaker 1: When you mentioned those names, it makes me think of
- 20:02Speaker 1: one of my favorite memories is a hockey fan. I'm
- 20:03Speaker 1: not a Penguin, but that Lemeil goal on John Casey,
- 20:07Speaker 1: And again it's different in Canada. We had Bob Cole
- 20:09Speaker 1: to call. He timed it like what a goal? Want
- 20:11Speaker 1: a move Lemieu? Oh baby, just as he pump fisted.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I mean, that's like literally one of the greatest hockey
- 20:16Speaker 1: moments ever. I'm sure for you you're losing your mind.
- 20:18Speaker 5: You know what's so funny about that is right now
- 20:21Speaker 5: they would review it for fifteen nuts and say there
- 20:23Speaker 5: was goalie interference.
- 20:27Speaker 2: That's a great point.
- 20:29Speaker 5: John Casey just watched it and I was like, oh
- 20:31Speaker 5: my god, he didn't try to push the bucket in
- 20:34Speaker 5: net or push Casey a little bit.
- 20:35Speaker 4: You know, they find any reason to take away goals.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Now, Oh, I'm with you, man, I replay God, it's
- 20:40Speaker 1: a I like getting it right, but it takes a
- 20:42Speaker 1: long time.
- 20:42Speaker 2: It's gonna be frustrating. I know you produce, but you're
- 20:46Speaker 2: you know.
- 20:46Speaker 5: I always I always think, I hate I hate the review.
- 20:48Speaker 5: I especially hate the review at the blue line because
- 20:52Speaker 5: it's like there has to be a system where it's like,
- 20:54Speaker 5: if you have a minute and a half to get
- 20:55Speaker 5: it out or the stick is on your puck, we
- 20:59Speaker 5: can't go back and rewrite history. But I always think, well,
- 21:01Speaker 5: how would I feel if you know a Flyer was
- 21:04Speaker 5: a minute and a half off side that I went
- 21:07Speaker 5: it reviewed? Yeah, I always think what would the Flyers
- 21:11Speaker 5: do with this rule? Like every time when there was
- 21:13Speaker 5: goalie interference back in the day, Like, what would the
- 21:15Speaker 5: Flyers do with this rule?
- 21:16Speaker 1: That's a good way looking look at your mortal rivals
- 21:18Speaker 1: and enemies. You produce content. One point the NHL Players Association,
- 21:22Speaker 1: how did that come about?
- 21:24Speaker 5: Well years ago, they were trying to get as many
- 21:28Speaker 5: stars in the league as possible. They wanted everyone to
- 21:31Speaker 5: be on the level of siding Ov, which I don't
- 21:33Speaker 5: even know if they've still achieved.
- 21:34Speaker 2: No, those guys are still the faces. You're right.
- 21:37Speaker 5: So they had me trying to make some funny content
- 21:40Speaker 5: and it was my now ex wife at the time.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Loved it because the only time I've been I worked
- 21:44Speaker 5: for Bill Graham. I've been around rock star has been
- 21:46Speaker 5: around a lot of famous people. The only time I've
- 21:48Speaker 5: ever been starstruck in my life, well twice, once with
- 21:51Speaker 5: Gene Simmons and it once was a j Coopotark came
- 21:53Speaker 5: out of the locker room. I listed, They go, you
- 21:57Speaker 5: want to talk to her? List like five guys. They go, well,
- 21:59Speaker 5: here's Copuitar right now.
- 22:02Speaker 2: That's funny, Jane Simmons and and Copataro. That's your list.
- 22:06Speaker 2: As far as that's so, you know, when you're a
- 22:07Speaker 2: real nerd for hockey, I know you performed at.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So many iconic comedy clubs Shoe, but you're perform with
- 22:12Speaker 1: Bill Burr at Madison Square Garden the Mecca.
- 22:15Speaker 2: What was that like?
- 22:16Speaker 5: It was the greatest night of comedy of my life.
- 22:19Speaker 5: And it was in the round. And I usually don't
- 22:22Speaker 5: get nervous, but as soon as I saw the ring
- 22:24Speaker 5: in the round or the stage in around. I'm like,
- 22:26Speaker 5: I got a little nervous, like wait, nervous. It's in
- 22:28Speaker 5: the round and I literally bent down between the floorboards.
- 22:31Speaker 5: I touched the ice and my toy Major goes, what
- 22:33Speaker 5: are you doing? I go, I'm touching the ice. Mary
- 22:36Speaker 5: Lemieux five goals on this ice.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Speaking of Bill Burr, I watched Glen Garry, Glenn Ross
- 22:43Speaker 2: and Bribe. I'm a huge David Mammott fan.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I have this a third time that I've seen Glenn
- 22:46Speaker 1: Carey and that iteration on Broadway. I saw years ago
- 22:50Speaker 1: with Lim Shreverer playing Ricky Roma and Alan Alda plays
- 22:53Speaker 1: Shot of the Machine Levine. Then I saw it when
- 22:55Speaker 1: Pacino plays Shoved the Machine Levine and Bobby Kin of
- 22:57Speaker 1: Valley pained Ricky Roma. And now your buddy Bill Burr
- 23:00Speaker 1: is amazing. He plays the the Ed Harris role. He's
- 23:02Speaker 1: just so angry, which is so funny because it fits
- 23:05Speaker 1: with Bill's persona. I'm like, well, that character Moss is
- 23:07Speaker 1: just spewing vectim right his final salvos. He's just telling
- 23:10Speaker 1: everyone to go fuck off, which is so funny. But
- 23:13Speaker 1: what can you tell me about Burr? Any Stori about him.
- 23:16Speaker 1: It seems like he really enjoyed being on stage.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Yes, he loves being on stage, and he loves sports.
- 23:21Speaker 5: And you know, we have such a great relationship. We're
- 23:24Speaker 5: like brothers, except any time they named cam Neely comes up,
- 23:27Speaker 5: because then they have to get a forty five minute
- 23:29Speaker 5: attack on from all Samson.
- 23:34Speaker 4: There's things you don't talk to Bill about.
- 23:36Speaker 5: You don't talk about the flake Gate, you don't talk
- 23:38Speaker 5: about steroids in the seventies, and you don't talk about
- 23:40Speaker 5: cam Neely All Sandelson.
- 23:42Speaker 2: It's gonna taking out those knies man. I could.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I could definitely appreciate it. Bill's frustration with that. How
- 23:47Speaker 1: about some other venues that you've been able to do
- 23:48Speaker 1: with Bill?
- 23:49Speaker 5: What we got to play the form in La We
- 23:51Speaker 5: got to play Red Rocks, which was incredible And an
- 23:55Speaker 5: interesting timot about Red Rocks is they don't send the
- 23:57Speaker 5: iceers in or the cleanup crew for about three hours
- 24:00Speaker 5: after the show. They have all the chipmunks in the
- 24:02Speaker 5: other road ands eat all the trash in this and
- 24:04Speaker 5: so we smoked cigars on stage and just watched all
- 24:07Speaker 5: the animals go nuts up in the mountain.
- 24:08Speaker 2: It's pretty That could be definitely cool again.
- 24:12Speaker 1: You follow the hockey closely, Joe through your puck Off podcast.
- 24:16Speaker 2: What else about the league right now?
- 24:17Speaker 1: I mean we talked with the playoffs, as you said,
- 24:19Speaker 1: the Panthers are a wagon.
- 24:20Speaker 2: We talked if we don't like replay.
- 24:21Speaker 1: What are some thoughts you have just about hockey and
- 24:23Speaker 1: general where it is right now?
- 24:25Speaker 5: I think hockey may be the best point it's been
- 24:28Speaker 5: in forever.
- 24:29Speaker 4: I love what's going on right now.
- 24:31Speaker 5: I would just like to I would love the playoff
- 24:33Speaker 5: format to go back to one to sixteen.
- 24:36Speaker 4: That would be my dream.
- 24:37Speaker 5: I remember when I was a little kid, it was
- 24:38Speaker 5: one through sixteen, and this is when the Penguins were blue,
- 24:42Speaker 5: and ironically and Lemieux wasn't a Penguin yet, and there's
- 24:45Speaker 5: always a line at sixteen and we were never in
- 24:47Speaker 5: the top sixteen. Can we just make the playoffs once
- 24:53Speaker 5: so thin that I think that that would be fun?
- 24:55Speaker 5: And I think I said, I wish they would clean
- 24:57Speaker 5: up the replay and uh, but you know, they kind
- 25:00Speaker 5: of brought some of the violence back, which is good.
- 25:02Speaker 5: A little interference is crept and you need a little that.
- 25:04Speaker 5: I don't like too much officiating, to be honest with you.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah, put the whistles away. That's why I enjoyed the playoffs.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 25:10Speaker 1: And also the fact that you know, it's interesting when
- 25:13Speaker 1: you get a good fight. As they always say, no
- 25:15Speaker 1: one goes for popca when there's a fight, So I
- 25:16Speaker 1: don't understand where the fighting disappears come playoff time, people
- 25:19Speaker 1: are still into it.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Tal go ahead.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah, thanks d and hey Joe, great to see. I
- 25:24Speaker 6: had a couple of quick ones. I just wanted you
- 25:26Speaker 6: to share a story that you had already told me.
- 25:28Speaker 6: I don't remember all the details, but basically, you were
- 25:30Speaker 6: in a car with a couple of big time ballplayers
- 25:32Speaker 6: and you were the one who broke the news to
- 25:33Speaker 6: them that Vanilla Ice was white.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Oh.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Actually it was Bobby Bonilla. Yes, Bobby Bow telling Daryl Strawberry.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Can you believe this boy what.
- 25:48Speaker 3: They had? No?
- 25:49Speaker 2: He couldn't believe it.
- 25:50Speaker 4: We could, I couldn't. No one could believe it.
- 25:53Speaker 5: I was in the back of Bobby Bennie's Mercedes white
- 25:55Speaker 5: Mercedes Benz Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Okay, how did you get in the Mercedes ninety? Other story?
- 26:00Speaker 2: Hooking up with Bobby Bow and straw I.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Used to work security for the Pirates, and so I'd
- 26:04Speaker 5: go around and hang out with those guys and baseball
- 26:06Speaker 5: players and hockey players, all the greatest people, I think,
- 26:10Speaker 5: because most of them have to be in the minor leagues,
- 26:12Speaker 5: and if they don't, they've still had their balls butts
- 26:14Speaker 5: enough that they have a great sense of humor.
- 26:16Speaker 4: They know how hard life.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Is, and especially in those days baseball, they could party
- 26:21Speaker 5: all they wanted. All they had to do was take
- 26:22Speaker 5: three at bats and sit in the aftfield.
- 26:26Speaker 2: And it's true, and there's there's a leisure game, as
- 26:29Speaker 2: one would say.
- 26:29Speaker 4: And there was no cell phones. It was a glorious
- 26:32Speaker 4: years with the Pirates.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Nice.
- 26:34Speaker 6: Now, I was going to ask you about that because
- 26:36Speaker 6: you know, just talking Mario talking Bobby bo like you,
- 26:40Speaker 6: you've seen those athletes when there was no social media,
- 26:43Speaker 6: there were no camera phones. It was you could you
- 26:45Speaker 6: were a public person, but you could still be pretty
- 26:47Speaker 6: anonymous and pretty private and not worry about, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 6: getting on one one night and seeing what who would
- 26:53Speaker 6: find out about the next morning. I mean, what do
- 26:55Speaker 6: you what do you recall, I guess about that era
- 26:57Speaker 6: for athletes of just you know, having having a little
- 27:00Speaker 6: bit more freedom when you went out after the game.
- 27:02Speaker 5: I mean they had total freedom because did there would
- 27:05Speaker 5: just be private rooms and you know, back rooms and everybody.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Had a blast.
- 27:10Speaker 5: There was no TMZ, there was no cell phones, and
- 27:13Speaker 5: really there was no rats. It didn't it wasn't anybody's
- 27:16Speaker 5: best interest to rat on the players. It's like, hey,
- 27:19Speaker 5: don't you gonna be friends the donk want free tickets?
- 27:21Speaker 5: Don't you want to say you hung out with RJ.
- 27:23Speaker 5: Reynolds better than being the guy that busted R J.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Reynolds.
- 27:29Speaker 6: And last one for me, I'd love to get your
- 27:30Speaker 6: take on you know, you've been involved in stand up
- 27:33Speaker 6: for a while and your take on the landscape right
- 27:36Speaker 6: now in the era of crowd work and Instagram and
- 27:40Speaker 6: you know, how has the dynamic changed in terms of,
- 27:43Speaker 6: you know, grinding on the road versus getting your name
- 27:46Speaker 6: out there in other ways?
- 27:48Speaker 5: Well, I mean I've been in the comedy almost thirty
- 27:50Speaker 5: years and it's changed about four or five times in
- 27:53Speaker 5: my lifetime. I just kind of roll with the flow.
- 27:56Speaker 5: But you know, the ways that you used to make it,
- 27:59Speaker 5: I've kind of done that. Now they keep changing. Just
- 28:01Speaker 5: when you think you know the answers, they changed the questions.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Is that is like rules to live by it, right,
- 28:08Speaker 2: she needed to know the answers. They changed the questions.
- 28:10Speaker 2: That's good stuff.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Joe Phila very philosophical again the puck Up podcast from
- 28:14Speaker 1: All Things Comedy, and of course go look up all
- 28:16Speaker 1: this great stuff on YouTube. And Joe Bartnica a great
- 28:19Speaker 1: comedian but also a passion of Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
- 28:22Speaker 2: So I just love the passion for all things Pucks show.
- 28:24Speaker 2: This is awesome. Thank you so much.
- 28:25Speaker 4: Oh thanks for having me. I'll do this anytime.
- 28:35Speaker 1: It's time now for Cinophon sixty and it long lasts,
- 28:37Speaker 1: long promised. Gillian Muller's Porno Jason.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Demursey's wife being featured. I really had to scrub out
- 28:44Speaker 2: that search engine.
- 28:45Speaker 1: And I gotta tell you when you said to me
- 28:47Speaker 1: last week and tal can verify that. She's like, no,
- 28:49Speaker 1: the title's porno. I don't know if you use the
- 28:51Speaker 1: word clean, but you.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Go, it's not that dirty. Okay, no, it's dirty. It's
- 28:55Speaker 3: just not like an actual porno.
- 28:57Speaker 2: But it was exceptionally dirty. And I pop it in.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:59Speaker 2: My seventeen year old son still at home, like I
- 29:01Speaker 2: gotta watch this. What's this? I'm like, oh, my buddy demerses,
- 29:03Speaker 2: did you watch it with you first?
- 29:05Speaker 1: What the I sorry, sorry, I immediately try. He goes,
- 29:08Speaker 1: I'll just go take a shot this. Sorry, Dad didn't
- 29:10Speaker 1: mean interrupt, like, and I didn't know this was the
- 29:12Speaker 1: first scene. He goes, that's your buddy's wife. I know
- 29:14Speaker 1: that's another woman who's riding a guy.
- 29:15Speaker 3: That's not that's It's a horror movie film, old school, right,
- 29:20Speaker 3: but yeah.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Riding a guy, guy, this guy staring away watching. Uh,
- 29:25Speaker 2: but I really enjoyed it.
- 29:26Speaker 1: It's an excellent horror movie, you know, low budget, schlocky
- 29:28Speaker 1: kind of you know that this reminds with those horror
- 29:31Speaker 1: movies quite frankly used to watching the eighties. They're kind
- 29:32Speaker 1: of still yeah, funny but goofy, but but but well done.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Like that's what horror movies were back then. They're supposed
- 29:37Speaker 1: to be entertaining but also bloody and vile. And the
- 29:39Speaker 1: demon is unbelievable. I just texted both of you on
- 29:43Speaker 1: the group chat just so TEL could watch it while
- 29:44Speaker 1: I'm describing the film.
- 29:45Speaker 2: But a couple of.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Class I saw that, I saw the cups. I was
- 29:49Speaker 3: dying when he's in the bathroom. But like, yeah, the
- 29:51Speaker 3: old guy.
- 29:51Speaker 2: First.
- 29:51Speaker 1: First off, first, I love the movie posters. One of
- 29:53Speaker 1: them is ten foot hole, ten foot pole. The other
- 29:56Speaker 1: one is the chestiest woman alive and her measurements are
- 30:00Speaker 1: on the it says seventy three thirty two thirty six.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Where are we getting a seventy three three?
- 30:07Speaker 3: They filmed that? Did you like? Read the inf on it?
- 30:11Speaker 3: They filmed up in Uh god, I gotta get this right.
- 30:14Speaker 3: They filled up in Greenport in Connecticut. Yeah, like in
- 30:18Speaker 3: the winter, in the winter time, and it's like ghostly
- 30:22Speaker 3: dead little town. Good but not bad though, right. You know.
- 30:25Speaker 3: I enjoyed it, man, I got like it won I know,
- 30:28Speaker 3: Jill corrected me. It won like a top ten award
- 30:31Speaker 3: at south By Southwest twenty nineteen.
- 30:34Speaker 2: The scene that text everybody has to watch this guy.
- 30:36Speaker 1: He's the manor he's got glasses on there watching a
- 30:38Speaker 1: video of him in the bathroom and he's just like,
- 30:40Speaker 1: oh oh, He's like writhing around. All of a sudden,
- 30:42Speaker 1: you just see the woman behind him and the guy's
- 30:44Speaker 1: just writhing around and eventually get bloodster scored everywhere and
- 30:47Speaker 1: they get.
- 30:47Speaker 2: A little close up. That's right, it's it's his winger
- 30:50Speaker 2: in her hand. I'm like, oh my god, but nothing
- 30:53Speaker 2: top this is a lot.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I can't like your Willem Dafoe.
- 30:57Speaker 2: That's right.
- 30:58Speaker 1: That's the people off An ask when I watched me,
- 31:00Speaker 1: They go, what's a good double bill for it? So
- 31:01Speaker 1: now you know what for Antichrist from Laura's Vantry with
- 31:04Speaker 1: Williem Dafoe and Charlotte Kanesburg. Or if you want to
- 31:06Speaker 1: watch an info maniac, here's a good companion piece. Go
- 31:08Speaker 1: ahead and watch Porno. The other scene which again I
- 31:10Speaker 1: couldn't even text you guys the clip, it's so vile, tew,
- 31:12Speaker 1: you gotta see it. This guy is being attracted by
- 31:15Speaker 1: the demon.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Again.
- 31:16Speaker 1: She's attractive and he's like starting to get excited, and
- 31:18Speaker 1: the clutched to his shot of him getting erecked through
- 31:21Speaker 1: his pants, and then she.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Just like this, It's like the Force. She's like Darth Fader.
- 31:25Speaker 1: She squeezing zat and he goes down like oh down,
- 31:27Speaker 1: and they hate I got blood all over his groin.
- 31:29Speaker 2: She leaves, What is going on this? I can't flieve

- 31:37Speaker 2: going on right now?
- 31:39Speaker 3: It's a horror movie.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Top ten.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Let's go top ten.
- 31:42Speaker 1: South by the Southwest all kidding side Joe was great,
- 31:46Speaker 1: excellently good. No, listen, scream you gotta be you gotta
- 31:48Speaker 1: be able to sell the Screams. She sold the Screams.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Scream Crew was great. I like to see him with
- 31:51Speaker 1: her and the you know, the love interest, so to speak.
- 31:54Speaker 1: The baseball player ends up.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Being a you know, a little uh yeah, a little
- 31:57Speaker 2: fem yeah, a little fem but uh then because it
- 32:00Speaker 2: ends up being the demon.
- 32:01Speaker 1: But she starts making out the guy in the bad
- 32:03Speaker 1: puts his puts her hand on his hackage, and later
- 32:05Speaker 1: on she's like, wait, I didn't have my underpactic.
- 32:06Speaker 2: No, that was the demage. She's like, ah, just revolted
- 32:08Speaker 2: by it. But I was an entertaining movie man dollar
- 32:11Speaker 2: eighty seven on Amazon Prime. Buy it right now. Gillian
- 32:14Speaker 2: Muller's Porto.
- 32:15Speaker 3: We're getting residual. Still, we've got ten cents the other day.

- 32:25Speaker 2: I'll check it out.
- 32:26Speaker 6: I'll contribute to the ten cents every quarter.
- 32:28Speaker 3: So absolutely, just to be clear, I've.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Read your book. I watched The Whalers documentary. I watched
- 32:33Speaker 1: Jill's movie. Now tal's gonna get it into the frame.
- 32:36Speaker 1: You're gonna have to spend the dollar eighty seven and
- 32:38Speaker 1: watch I just want.
- 32:39Speaker 3: To see it.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I like you.
- 32:41Speaker 3: I like your you know, I like your writing mind.
- 32:43Speaker 3: And you know, I'm kind of one of those guys
- 32:45Speaker 3: that have you know, your very Thespiani. You know you
- 32:49Speaker 3: have a thespians mind.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Yes, that's why I'm curious.
- 32:52Speaker 3: And if you have a thespians mustache, it.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Fits in both ends, all right?
- 32:58Speaker 1: Does in Prospect News, we're expecting the air playing next season.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Five minutes of video of content. He's gonna cut Edwards
- 33:07Speaker 3: scissor hands over there.
- 33:10Speaker 2: He's letting it go. He's letting it go.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Medicine had tigers for Gavin McKenna. You know his name
- 33:15Speaker 1: if you're a hockey bander. He's expected to be the
- 33:16Speaker 1: top pick in the twenty twenty sixth NHL Draft. McKenna
- 33:19Speaker 1: hype is already building why Memorial Cup Tournament to crown
- 33:21Speaker 1: Canada's top junior hockey team. Medicine had has been cruising
- 33:25Speaker 1: through the tournament and the seventh year old McKenna has
- 33:26Speaker 1: been one of the top scores in Atturney four points
- 33:29Speaker 1: in three games.
- 33:30Speaker 2: How hyped are you, JD? For Gavin McKennon. Is he
- 33:32Speaker 2: the next one?
- 33:34Speaker 3: I mean yeah in two years and we've got a
- 33:36Speaker 3: long way to go there. Let's stay in the president here.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Uh yeah, he's he's everything offensively and then some. But
- 33:43Speaker 3: I feel like we until somebody blows the doors off
- 33:47Speaker 3: on me, like McDavid did so hard to kind of
- 33:51Speaker 3: get up for these kids. You know when they say
- 33:52Speaker 3: every year is a generational, it's a generational and it's like,
- 33:55Speaker 3: come on, he's a great player, great player, a lot
- 33:58Speaker 3: of skill. We'll see. Time will tell once you get
- 34:02Speaker 3: on the once you get on the big ice, to
- 34:04Speaker 3: getting the big eyes of the big boys, getting to
- 34:07Speaker 3: the playoffs. We saw what Connor Regard's done so far,
- 34:09Speaker 3: not the most you know, and still learning and it's
- 34:13Speaker 3: taking some time. It's tough to be a generational player,
- 34:16Speaker 3: and it's tough to be right out of the gate
- 34:18Speaker 3: super impactful. There's not many guys that can do it.
- 34:22Speaker 3: He could be and he's been touted as a kid
- 34:24Speaker 3: that could could be that one in you know every
- 34:28Speaker 3: five years that comes along and kind of just excels right, Togate,
- 34:32Speaker 3: the Cale mccars, the Quinn Hughes. Is that just jumps
- 34:34Speaker 3: right off the page. And I mean all of his
- 34:37Speaker 3: highlights look like it. You know, I haven't watched a
- 34:39Speaker 3: ton of them, but I mean just as highlights. And
- 34:42Speaker 3: watch him in World Juniors. He's he should have played
- 34:45Speaker 3: more in the last World Juniors. He might have won.
- 34:47Speaker 3: But it is what it is. Gavin McKenna. We'll see
- 34:52Speaker 3: you in twenty twenty six. Maybe we'll interview you on
- 34:55Speaker 3: NHL and scripted.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Yeah, look forward to seeing that definitely.
- 34:58Speaker 3: If you're if you got time for it.
- 35:02Speaker 1: If he's feeling fris skip that time right now? Is
- 35:04Speaker 1: I know you're just getting a snack and shout out to.
- 35:07Speaker 3: The I'm meaning I'm eating gum of the gods, mastic gum, oh, mastic, train,
- 35:11Speaker 3: your train, your train, your jaw. Okay, that's awesome, TMJ.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I got to look this up.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Ask good for you, Good for digestion.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Shout out to the Oilers fan game for Edmonton's spotted
- 35:21Speaker 1: chucking a beer out of a prosthetic leg.
- 35:24Speaker 3: That is nice. The old leggy, the old peg leg.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Wait you even done that though? Me?
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I own a prosthetic. I don't own
- 35:34Speaker 3: a prosthetic leg, so no, I have not, but maybe.
- 35:36Speaker 1: A buddy at some point you're out the bar, Hey,
- 35:37Speaker 1: why don't you take off now?
- 35:38Speaker 3: I don't like the shoey stuff that I don't do that.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Come on, you seen what some people's fun guy they
- 35:45Speaker 3: have on their feet. I think with feet is nasty
- 35:48Speaker 3: and I'm a fun guy lover.
- 35:49Speaker 2: But you know, but people have drunken of like disgusting things.
- 35:52Speaker 1: I'm sure maybe not yourself personal, but you've seen friends
- 35:54Speaker 1: do these kinds of things.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Not a prosthetic leg, but like I've seen Yeah, you know,
- 35:59Speaker 3: people get spit beer in other people's mouths and of
- 36:02Speaker 3: it get too like people are gross, we were disgusting.

- 36:11Speaker 2: The panthers did not touch the Prince of Wales trophy.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Are you one of those guys that thinks that matters?
- 36:16Speaker 3: Hey? Yeah, I just don't Why the why the hell
- 36:18Speaker 3: do you want the Prince Whaless trophy? You want the cup?
- 36:22Speaker 3: We don't want no prince you know, Prince Harry, Prince Charles,
- 36:26Speaker 3: Prince of Wales. Go fuck yourself.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Yes, there's no better way to do this podcast.
