  First John chapter 3 let us pray Lord you are everything.

  You are the very life within us. You're the breath God you spoke

  at all into existence. You said that it was good.

  So Lord, we just step into your goodness.

  We step in to the reality that you are moving everything in
• 0:32
  accordance with your Holy Scriptures and what you said
• 0:36
  would happen, Lord. And we believe it with all of
• 0:39
  our heart, with all of our mind, with all of our strength.
• 0:41
  God, we believe that you are, we believe that you are the
• 0:44
  rewarder of those who diligently seek you.
• 0:47
  So Lord, we seek you out today. I pray that we will find you out
• 0:53
  today. We will find that you are good,
• 0:57
  you are gracious and you are kind, and you are loving and you
• 1:02
  are merciful. Lord, you are righteous and
• 1:06
  true, and Jesus Christ is the Lord, the Lord over our lives,
• 1:14
  and we surrender everything unto Him.
• 1:17
  Today we admit that we are sinful.
• 1:25
  We admit that we are in desperate need of a Savior.
• 1:29
  We admit today that we cannot save ourselves and that we need
• 1:36
  Jesus Christ to cover us with his perfection and his
• 1:41
  innocence. Or we believe that Jesus Christ
• 1:48
  is the Son of God. He's your Son and He is God.
• 1:54
  We believe today that he died on the cross for our sins.
• 2:02
  We believe today that Jesus Christ is enough.
• 2:06
  It is not Jesus plus anything. It's Jesus alone that saves God.

  We confess. We confess that we desperately
• 2:19
  need him. We confess, God, that you raised
• 2:24
  him from the dead, You resurrected him back to life,
• 2:31
  that he appeared to many, that now he has ascended and is
• 2:36
  seated at the right hand of you, Yahweh, the God of Abraham,
• 2:41
  Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel.
• 2:46
  Lord Jesus, we abide, we abide in you and you and us.
• 2:54
  Help us to have the fruits of the Spirit.
• 2:58
  Help us today to put on the full armor.
• 3:01
  God help us to withstand the fiery darts of the enemy.
• 3:07
  God help us to know that you're near and that you're leading us.
• 3:11
  We love you, Father, and it's in your holy and precious and
• 3:15
  powerful name that I pray Jesus Christ, Amen.

  Well, let's start in verse one. Behold what manner of love the
• 3:30
  Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the
• 3:34
  sons of God. Therefore the world knows us not
• 3:39
  because it knew Him not. What a title that you and I can
• 3:43
  have. If you prayed that prayer and
• 3:46
  you meant it, you have eternal life, and now it is time for you
• 3:50
  to abide in Him and Him in you. Friend, you can be sure, you can
• 3:57
  know that you know, that you know, that you know that you are
• 4:00
  His and He is yours, and that you can be called the sons of
• 4:05
  God. You can be called the children
• 4:08
  of God. Friends, if you abide in Him, in
• 4:13
  Him, in you, do not step out of that.
• 4:17
  Do not return back to your vomit in your old way of life.
• 4:21
  Do not return back there. You can have eternal salvation.
• 4:27
  You can have the assurance of your faith.
• 4:30
  You can have the concrete relationship on the rock of
• 4:39
  Christ if you will acknowledge Him and acknowledge His
• 4:44
  supremacy, Acknowledge his deity, acknowledge that Jesus
• 4:48
  Christ is the only way unto the Father, and that Jesus is Lord.
• 4:54
  Verse 2 Beloved now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet
• 5:01
  appear what we shall be, but we know that when He shall appear,
• 5:07
  we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
• 5:11
  This is the greatest reward for those who have placed their
• 5:15
  faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, is that we will be made like
• 5:18
  Him, and we will see Him in His entirety in His fullness.
• 5:22
  And now we only see in part. We only see darkly and dimly
• 5:25
  friends. But one day we will see in the
• 5:28
  fullness of it all. We will actually know Him and be
• 5:31
  known by Him in the entirety in the fullness, and not just in
• 5:36
  The Mirage, not just in the smoke and mirrors, but we will
• 5:40
  actually be able to lock eyes with Yeshua Hamasiya.
• 5:45
  We will actually be able to see Jesus the Christ, the Messiah
• 5:51
  verse 3 and every man that has this hope in him purifies
• 5:56
  himself, even has he is pure. This is the marker.
• 6:00
  This is the indicator friends, if you belong in him and if you
• 6:04
  are abiding in him, friends, is that you will strive after this
• 6:10
  purity. You will not be complacent, you
• 6:13
  will not grow lazy. You will not be those that make
• 6:16
  excuses for their sins, but you will hate the sin.
• 6:21
  You will hate the fact that you keep falling back into it.
• 6:24
  That Romans 7, I do the things that I don't want to do and I
• 6:30
  don't do the things that I do want to do.
• 6:33
  And it is not me who does them, friends, it's the flesh.
• 6:37
  Because we agree with the Spirit, and this is how we make
• 6:40
  ourselves pure, is by this constant striving towards
• 6:45
  perfection. And one day we will be perfected
• 6:49
  and glorified, and we will receive our eternal bodies.
• 6:56
  For whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law, for
• 7:01
  sin is the transgression of the law.
• 7:05
  So we know that to love the Lord God with all your heart, with
• 7:08
  all your mind, with all your strength, and to love your
• 7:11
  neighbor as yourself, and that all of the law is fulfilled in
• 7:15
  that. And Jesus Christ himself said, I
• 7:18
  did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.
• 7:21
  So if we are in Christ, all of the law has been fulfilled.
• 7:26
  But if you are not in Christ in one infraction against the law,
• 7:31
  you are guilty of all of it, and you stand condemned, friends,
• 7:35
  and there is no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus.
• 7:41
  Five. And you know that He was
• 7:43
  manifested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin.
• 7:49
  He is the only one who lived a perfect life.
• 7:53
  He is the only one who lived a sinless life, and it is His
• 7:59
  perfection that we put on, His righteousness that we are
• 8:03
  clothed with if we are in Him. But anybody who refuses the love
• 8:08
  of Jesus Christ, anybody who refuses to come to him and to
• 8:13
  make him their Lord, there is no salvation for them. 6 Whosoever
• 8:24
  abides in him sins not, and whosoever sins has not seen him,
• 8:31
  neither known him. And we're talking about those
• 8:34
  that are living a life of sin. We are not talking about the
• 8:38
  occasional sin. And this is a huge point of
• 8:42
  conjecture for many theologians who are afraid of those that
• 8:48
  will abuse grace, friends. And He is not calling for us to
• 8:54
  practice a completely sinless life.
• 8:58
  You will sin, but you will not want to sin.
• 9:02
  You will not love the sin. You will abide in him and him
• 9:06
  and you. And if you'll do that, then the
• 9:08
  Lord will never count any of your sins against you. 7 Little
• 9:15
  children, let no man deceive you.
• 9:20
  He that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is
• 9:26
  righteous. So we put on the righteousness
• 9:29
  of Jesus Christ. It is grace through faith,
• 9:33
  friends, that saves us. It is by being clothed and robed
• 9:39
  in the majesty in the blood of Jesus Christ is the only way
• 9:43
  that we can be passed over and saved in the day of Judgment.
• 9:51
  Eight. He that commits sin is of the
• 9:55
  devil, for the devil sins from the beginning.
• 9:59
  For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might
• 10:05
  destroy the works of the devil. So that's what happens when we
• 10:08
  walk in righteousness, friends, when we refuse to sin, we are
• 10:13
  destroying all of the place for the devil that he has in
• 10:17
  people's lives. When people look upon us and
• 10:20
  they see that we have been with Jesus and that we love Jesus and
• 10:24
  we are trying to please our Lord and our Master and our God, then
• 10:29
  it destroys and underpins all of the things of the devil and the
• 10:34
  works of the devil. He is a liar in his native
• 10:37
  languages, Lies, friends, and if you want to overpower the enemy,
• 10:48
  we live righteous and we refuse to sin. 9 Whosoever is born of
• 10:56
  God does not commit sin, for his seed remains in him, and he
• 11:04
  cannot sin because he is born of God.
• 11:08
  This is what it looks like when we are walking in.
• 11:11
  The righteousness of Jesus Christ is that God looks upon
• 11:15
  us, and he doesn't see any of our sins, and we will not want
• 11:19
  to sin, Friends. 10 In this the children of God are manifest,
• 11:27
  and the children of the devil. Whosoever does not.
• 11:30
  Righteousness is not of God, neither is he that loves not his
• 11:34
  brother. So we go back to the same point
• 11:37
  of having love for our brothers, and he's showing us how this
• 11:44
  hateful heart is not of God and we need to deal with it.
• 11:49
  He told Cain that sin was crouching at his door and he had
• 11:53
  to master it. And that is what we are called
• 11:57
  to do. We have to get on top of it.
• 12:00
  We cannot allow it to take roots and to produce bitterness and
• 12:05
  wrath and rage and malice and division and dissension.
• 12:09
  Friends, that is not of God. 11 For this is the message that you
• 12:17
  heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
• 12:22
  What a great indicator that you actually belong to God Almighty
• 12:26
  is the love that you have for each other. 12 Not as Cain, who
• 12:34
  was of that wicked one, and he slew his brother, and wherefore
• 12:40
  slew he him, because his own works were evil and his
• 12:44
  brother's righteous. So Cain killed his brother
• 12:47
  because Abel's sacrifices were accepted by God and Cain's were
• 12:54
  not because he gave him the leftovers, whereas Abel gave him
• 13:00
  his first fruits, he gave him the first of the flock.
• 13:03
  And you can see the scarlet thread being interwoven all the
• 13:07
  way back in Genesis and showing us our need for a Savior,
• 13:12
  showing us our need for our Lord Jesus Christ.
• 13:18
  And we do not need to be like Cain who get our feelings hurt
• 13:22
  and we're offended. And that offense leads to
• 13:26
  murder. 13 Marvel, not my brothers, if the world hates
• 13:33
  you. He's going to get into this
• 13:35
  little discourse here and he's going to let us know that we
• 13:37
  should not be surprised when we don't look like the world and
• 13:42
  the world doesn't understand us and the world actually turns
• 13:46
  their back on us and hates us. 14 We know that we have passed
• 13:53
  from death to life because we love the brothers.
• 13:57
  He that loves not his brother abides in death.
• 14:02
  So here's a great indicator of where you stand with God is do
• 14:08
  you love your brothers and sisters in Christ?
• 14:14
  Because if you are backbiting and you are slanderous and you
• 14:19
  are those that hate and have hate and house hate towards your
• 14:24
  brother, it proves that the love of God is not in you. 15
• 14:31
  Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no
• 14:37
  murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
• 14:41
  And you could easily say, well, I would never murder somebody,
• 14:45
  but you need to know even housing that hate within your
• 14:48
  heart, Jesus said, is murder. In the same way that looking
• 14:55
  upon a woman with lust in your eyes is adultery.
• 15:00
  You need to know that it is dangerous, friends, and you're
• 15:04
  giving the devil a foothold in your life, and if he can get his
• 15:08
  foot into the door jamb, the whole body's coming in.
• 15:14
  Never, ever give the devil a foothold in your life. 16 Hereby
• 15:24
  perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life
• 15:29
  for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
• 15:34
  Love has no greater than for a man to lay down his life for his
• 15:38
  brother. You need to know that.
• 15:43
  You need to know that we counted the cost.
• 15:46
  We found that he is worthy, and we're not afraid of losing our
• 15:50
  lives. And for the sake of the good
• 15:55
  news of Jesus Christ, we willingly laid down our lives in
• 15:59
  the same way that he laid down his. 17 But whoso has this
• 16:06
  world's good, and sees his brother that has need, and he
• 16:11
  shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells
• 16:15
  the love of God in him? This is very similar to what
• 16:19
  James the half brother of Jesus told us in his epistle to us
• 16:25
  when he talks about that faith without works is dead.
• 16:30
  And here John mirrors that. John actually reiterates that
• 16:38
  same sentiment when he tells us that if we have the ability to
• 16:43
  help others, we see that others are in need.
• 16:46
  And we cold shoulder them and walk away from them, or tell
• 16:50
  them be warm and be well fed. And we have the blankets and the
• 16:56
  food to give to them, but we don't give it to them.
• 16:59
  How is the love of God actually in us?
• 17:02
  We will put feet to our faith friends, if we truly know Him.
• 17:13
  18 My little children, let us not love in Word, neither in
• 17:19
  tongue, but in deed and in truth.
• 17:23
  It cannot just be faith in words.
• 17:27
  You actually have to have faith in deed as well.
• 17:31
  You actually have to do the things that God is prompting you
• 17:35
  to do. And a lot of times God gives us
• 17:37
  all this intellectual knowledge, and then when it comes time to
• 17:42
  put it into practice, we fail. We sure know it intellectually,
• 17:48
  but we don't actually practice it practically. 19 And hereby we
• 17:58
  know that we are of the truth and shall assure our hearts
• 18:03
  before him. 24 If our heart condemns us, God is greater than
• 18:09
  our heart and knows all things. We do not need to sit in
• 18:13
  condemnation. There is no condemnation for
• 18:16
  those that are in Christ Jesus. And we have great liberty,
• 18:20
  friends, but we do not use that as an occasion to sin and to be
• 18:26
  hard hearted. And if we're in this season
• 18:32
  where we feel defeated, the love of God is greater than any
• 18:36
  condemnation. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then we
• 18:47
  have confidence towards God. We have conviction, not
• 18:51
  condemnation in Christ Jesus 22 and whatsoever we ask, we
• 18:58
  receive of him because we keep his commandments and do those
• 19:02
  things that are pleasing in his sight.
• 19:04
  This is how when James was telling us that anything you ask
• 19:08
  the Lord will give to you. But make sure that you're not
• 19:11
  double minded, friends, we're not asking for things selfishly.
• 19:16
  We're not asking for things that are for vanity.
• 19:19
  We're not asking for the things that are just for our own self
• 19:23
  pleasure and we are asking for the things that are in the will
• 19:27
  of God. And that is how you're going to
• 19:28
  see the mountains move in the ocean park, friends.
• 19:32
  That is how you're going to see things starting to happen is
• 19:34
  when we're praying the prayers that are close to the Father's
• 19:37
  heart. You will see them answered. 23

  And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the
• 19:48
  name of the Son of Jesus Christ, and love one another as he is.
• 19:54
  As he gave us commandment, so Jesus told us that we'll know
• 19:59
  each other by the love that we have for us.
• 20:01
  And he gave us a new commandment to love as he has loved us,
• 20:05
  friends, and we believe that Jesus Christ is the only way
• 20:09
  unto the Father we'll end on. 24 And he that keeps his
• 20:13
  commandments dwells in him, and he in him, and hereby we know
• 20:20
  that he abides in US. By the Spirit which he has given
• 20:25
  us, the Holy Spirit will confirm if you truly belong to Jesus
• 20:29
  Christ, if you're truly in the will of the Father.
• 20:32
  The Holy Spirit is the Helper, the advocate.
• 20:35
  The Holy Spirit is the one who will let us know our position in
• 20:39
  Christ and we will be able to confirm Our Calling and our
• 20:42
  election. And we'll walk in that, friends,
• 20:45
  and we will not be those who doubt our salvation.
• 20:49
  We will have the blessed assurance, and in that blessed
• 20:53
  assurance we will actually be doing the things that He has
• 20:56
  asked of us and He requires of us.
