- 0:01Speaker 1: The Woody Show. You know, I'd like to add a
- 0:06Speaker 1: jeers to the mix. Okay. I saw, man, a ton
- 0:13Speaker 1: of stuff about BTS and their performance at the iHeartRadio
- 0:18Speaker 1: Music Festival, their fans could be the dumbest people I've
- 0:21Speaker 1: ever seen. Their characters. Here's why it's embarrassing. I understand
- 0:26Speaker 1: being a fan, right? But to be so over the top,
- 0:31Speaker 1: it is like, I mean, it's almost, it seems worse
- 0:36Speaker 1: and Menace, you would know better than I do. It's
- 0:38Speaker 1: worse than that delusional fandom that Taylor Swift fans have. Yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It's to a different level altogether. It's pretty hardcore. We're
- 0:46Speaker 1: talking grown men in their 50s, Greg. Yeah. What did
- 0:50Speaker 1: you see?
- 0:50Speaker 2: Crying?
- 0:51Speaker 1: Oh, are you kidding? That's not my issue. People camping out.
- 0:56Speaker 1: That's not my issue. Anyway, so BTS was part of
- 0:59Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio music festival, and they came out and they
- 1:02Speaker 1: did their thing, and then it was done. Just like
- 1:05Speaker 1: everybody else on the festival, these are not full shows.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Sets.
- 1:09Speaker 1: No. Like it's Friday night and Saturday night. It's one stage.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It's not an all day thing where people get there
- 1:16Speaker 1: at eight o'clock in the morning and it goes till
- 1:18Speaker 1: midnight and there's three different stages and a whatever tent
- 1:21Speaker 1: that people put like a Coachella kind of thing. It's
- 1:24Speaker 1: one stage.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And so it's think of it more like you see
- 1:28Speaker 1: like award award shows. Right. You know, thing. Yeah, right.
- 1:32Speaker 1: A showcase. I prefer it that way.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I love it when I go to a comedy club
- 1:35Speaker 3: and it's like six different comedians doing 15 minutes each.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:38Speaker 1: And it's a it's a rotating stage. And so there's
- 1:40Speaker 1: very little downtime. And the whole thing's start to finish
- 1:43Speaker 1: three and a half, four hours tops.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Total start to finish. Right. Man, these BTS fans think
- 1:51Speaker 1: there's some kind of big drawn out conspiracy about how
- 1:55Speaker 1: I heart quote used them. Yeah, I can assure you,
- 1:58Speaker 1: because I heard from some muckety mucks. They were well compensated,
- 2:03Speaker 1: and they were well compensated. For the agreed upon 15 minutes. Right.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That's what they agreed to.
- 2:11Speaker 4: See, that's the conspiracy.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yes. They weren't used. It didn't do this for free.
- 2:15Speaker 1: They didn't cut the mics. It didn't just show up. Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 1: None of that is true. Zero of that is true.
- 2:21Speaker 5: You don't think that we wouldn't want them to play
- 2:23Speaker 5: for maybe 48 hours?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah. For being as big. Yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Worldwide.
- 2:28Speaker 1: The whole event is whatever it is. So I went
- 2:31Speaker 1: back and I pulled up the schedule's. Now, this is
- 2:36Speaker 1: before we even got there about who was going to
- 2:40Speaker 1: be on. Kenny Chesney, 25 minutes. what's that, Stella Lefty,
- 2:45Speaker 1: who you heard? Three minutes.
- 2:48Speaker 4: It was from Boston.
- 2:50Speaker 1: But that, it was, my point is, you can argue, oh,
- 2:53Speaker 1: this person should have got a little bit more, this
- 2:54Speaker 1: person should have got a little bit less, or what,
- 2:57Speaker 1: this is what it was agreed upon. Like, hey, this
- 2:59Speaker 1: is how we think this is going to fit into this,
- 3:01Speaker 1: or this is what we are available for, this is
- 3:04Speaker 1: what we're willing to do for however much they decide to,
- 3:08Speaker 1: you know, like however much it costs. And I don't
- 3:10Speaker 1: know what it would cost to have BTS come in
- 3:12Speaker 1: and do a full set. I can guarantee you it's
- 3:15Speaker 1: a lot more than what they agreed upon for the
- 3:18Speaker 1: 15 minutes. Oh, yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 3: This is also taped for TV. So the time is
- 3:22Speaker 3: very strict.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Very correct. Yeah, so Benson Boone got 25 minutes. Smashing
- 3:28Speaker 1: Pumpkins got 20 minutes. So Benson Boone got more than
- 3:30Speaker 1: Smashing Pumpkins. Right. In the Pumpkins, it felt like three minutes. Right.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It's not based on anything other than run and flow
- 3:39Speaker 1: of show and everything. But man, read the comments. It's hilarious.
- 3:43Speaker 1: The caping that goes on. You could tell on Jang
- 3:47Speaker 1: Juk's face, whatever the F his name is. I don't
- 3:50Speaker 1: even know what his name is. There's a Juk something.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Jin Cook? Is that the name?
- 3:54Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Anyway, you could tell he felt, they're making up all
- 3:59Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 4:00Speaker 3: What social media account should we tell the BTS army
- 4:02Speaker 3: to go to to suck it?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh, it's not even like the army. And the way
- 4:06Speaker 1: they speak like... Army, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's
- 4:10Speaker 1: not like the army or the BTS army.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Like, no.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And the way they treat army is just, oh my God.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Are we saying BTS armies are a bunch of losers, Menace?
- 4:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't go that far. Yes. From what I read online, losers.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I want to go to sleep. Losers, losers, losers. There's
- 4:31Speaker 1: no conspiracy, dude.
- 4:32Speaker 5: No, the only issue that I have is like, dude,
- 4:34Speaker 5: if we had the access to give them you know,
- 4:37Speaker 5: more time, we would want that.
- 4:39Speaker 1: It would be a good thing, you know?
- 4:41Speaker 5: So it's not like, that's the part where it's like,
- 4:44Speaker 5: you know, them, the fans saying that we didn't want
- 4:48Speaker 5: to give them that access.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 4:50Speaker 5: We would want to have that, you know? So that's,
- 4:53Speaker 5: that's the thing that I'm worried about.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Menace, this makes perfect sense, but can we get a
- 4:56Speaker 3: clean cut for Vaughn of what he's saying?
- 4:57Speaker 1: The BTS ARMYs are losers, losers, losers. Yes. The BTS ARMY. Losers, losers, losers.
- 5:03Speaker 2: There you go.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And you know what I'm basing that on? I'm basing
- 5:06Speaker 1: that on everything that I read online. There was a
- 5:09Speaker 1: lot of anger. I didn't see one clear-headed comment from
- 5:12Speaker 1: a person who was part of Army. Army. And if
- 5:16Speaker 1: there was, didn't see it. But that's what I'm basing
- 5:19Speaker 1: my opinion on.
- 5:19Speaker 6: Well, I hate that they blame someone else. Like, their
- 5:22Speaker 6: immediate response is like, blame someone else. They did them dirty.
- 5:25Speaker 6: They were wrong.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I hard screwed them. It's like, nah, dude.
- 5:28Speaker 6: Used.
- 5:28Speaker 4: It couldn't possibly be like, we'll do this many songs
- 5:31Speaker 4: for this much money.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Done. Deal. Right. Yeah. They did okay. Muse had 25 minutes. God,
- 5:38Speaker 1: that was so good. And that's how it works. That's
- 5:41Speaker 1: just how it works. I like that. I like that
- 5:44Speaker 1: kind of show. I do, too. Because you know what
- 5:47Speaker 1: I want to spend? I don't want to spend all day. No.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And that's never what it was. That's why it says
- 5:51Speaker 1: start time is this. And you've got to figure it's
- 5:52Speaker 1: going to be wrapped up by. If you want to
- 5:53Speaker 1: take a break because, you know, hey, I'll take, you know.
- 5:55Speaker 6: Midnight.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Read the comment. It's so funny.
- 5:57Speaker 2: So many different genres. If you're not into one of them,
- 5:59Speaker 2: you know it won't last that long. Yeah, exactly.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You've got six more minutes. Yeah. And from everything that
- 6:04Speaker 1: I heard, you know, like, you know. the guys themselves,
- 6:08Speaker 1: nice dudes. And everybody was cool.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Everybody. Yeah. Nobody felt wrong. Yeah. If there was a
- 6:15Speaker 1: people like, Oh, the mic, nobody cut their microphones off.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I know there are things that happen in the course
- 6:19Speaker 1: of like a, you know, a live event or whatever,
- 6:22Speaker 1: where there could be a microphone stops working or there's
- 6:25Speaker 1: things that happen. There are technical things that happen, but,
- 6:29Speaker 1: But also.
- 6:29Speaker 4: I think it's just when we go to a concert,
- 6:31Speaker 4: we're used to, first of all, an encore.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So it's like, they didn't come back. They're mad.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Like, that's not how these kind of festivals work.
- 6:36Speaker 1: That's not how they leave the stage ever. Well, if
- 6:39Speaker 1: you watched any of the other bands, any of the
- 6:42Speaker 1: 16 years that this iHeartRadio music festival has gone on.
- 6:44Speaker 1: That's how it goes. Yeah, they go, all right, thank you, everybody.
- 6:46Speaker 1: And they wave as they're walking off stage because the
- 6:49Speaker 1: stage is about to spin. Literally, it's on a turntable
- 6:52Speaker 1: kind of thing. And then they have the next artist
- 6:54Speaker 1: ready to go. Yeah, and they did.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It's down to the minute.
- 6:57Speaker 6: They did everything backstage. I mean, I saw them hit
- 6:59Speaker 6: all the different spots. So if they were in a
- 7:01Speaker 6: bad mood and they didn't want to be there or whatever,
- 7:03Speaker 6: they wouldn't have done all that extra stuff.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And we saw it all. And they were happy to
- 7:07Speaker 1: be there. Yeah, those guys, by all accounts, I didn't
- 7:11Speaker 1: have any personal dealings with them, obviously. They didn't trash
- 7:14Speaker 1: the dressing room? No, they had me working with like
- 7:16Speaker 1: Muse and Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer and doing that stuff.
- 7:19Speaker 1: So that wasn't my area of responsibility. But the people
- 7:22Speaker 1: that I do know who were, you know, talking to
- 7:25Speaker 1: them and doing all the officials.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Nice guys.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Super cool. Yeah, they were fine. We would definitely hear
- 7:30Speaker 1: about it. But zero.
- 7:32Speaker 2: The Woody Show.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Cheers and jeers. Let's start with you, Jeff G.
- 7:43Speaker 6: Cheers to my first ever iHeartRadio Music Festival.
- 7:46Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 7:47Speaker 6: I've been working here eight years, and this is the
- 7:49Speaker 6: first one I've been to. It was great seeing all
- 7:52Speaker 6: the artists, all the iHeart people from around the country.
- 7:54Speaker 6: We had a tremendous crew of talent. It was a
- 7:56Speaker 6: lot of fun. You guys made it really easy to
- 7:59Speaker 6: do our jobs while we were there, which was really cool.
- 8:02Speaker 6: But my favorite moment by far... It's watching how trashed
- 8:06Speaker 6: our bosses get.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Oh, dude.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Like, they turn up, man. It's open bar.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, dude.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Different areas where all the... It's a heavy pour.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, like, where all the muckety-mucks and stuff are hanging out. Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 6: I knew they were turnt when they yelled at me
- 8:20Speaker 6: from across the.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Room, and I'm like, this.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Guy didn't know my name six months ago, man.
- 8:24Speaker 1: This is cool. Yeah. It's open bar all day, too.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Like, the start of the festival, all the way until probably, like,
- 8:31Speaker 1: 1 a.m.
- 8:31Speaker 2: That's how life should be.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yeah. That's my cheers.
- 8:34Speaker 5: Cheers.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And my jeers. So we flew.
- 8:38Speaker 6: Back home on Southwest and I paid a few extra
- 8:40Speaker 6: bucks to sit in the front row.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I had like a credit on Southwest. So I used
- 8:43Speaker 1: it to get like little leg room.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 8:46Speaker 6: So if, if I'm in the first row, Why am
- 8:49Speaker 6: I putting my luggage five rows back? The minute I
- 8:53Speaker 6: walk onto the plane, the first four rows of luggage
- 8:56Speaker 6: on both effing sides are already all.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Whose luggage is that? Thank you for joining. I'm in
- 9:01Speaker 1: the first row, dude.
- 9:02Speaker 4: This shouldn't be allowed.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Greg.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Jeff, thank you for joining First Class Complaints with Seabass.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Am I bougie now?
- 9:10Speaker 2: Were you the first on the plane as well?
- 9:13Speaker 1: No, I was in group two.
- 9:15Speaker 6: So I think they do like, you know, pre-boarding and
- 9:18Speaker 6: then they give like some, they have some other special
- 9:20Speaker 6: name for people.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Priority.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Fake wheelchair people. Yeah. No, I paid for priority. And
- 9:25Speaker 1: then also the stewardess, they use that for their luggage too.
- 9:29Speaker 1: What are they called? The stewardess, I guess. Or the
- 9:32Speaker 1: flight attendant.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yeah, they'll put their stuff in there. If you're on a.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I think this part of this is Southwest is kind
- 9:38Speaker 3: of new to this whole first class thing a little bit.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Because when you're on a real airline with real first class,
- 9:43Speaker 3: the upfront, the first class stewardess will watch those losers
- 9:45Speaker 3: like a hawk.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Yes, they will.
- 9:47Speaker 1: But I think on Southwest, it's still kind of loosey-goosey,
- 9:49Speaker 1: anything goes.
- 9:50Speaker 3: And therefore, the losers who want to sit in back
- 9:52Speaker 3: and just want to, I'll drop my bags off here
- 9:53Speaker 3: and I'll walk to my loser seat with the pours.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Shit!
- 9:55Speaker 3: It's their little way of being a loser pour and
- 9:59Speaker 3: trying to... to stick it to you rich people up front.
- 10:02Speaker 3: And we need to have better enforcement.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Us rich people, huh?
- 10:06Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I would agree.
- 10:07Speaker 1: On Southwest.
- 10:08Speaker 6: The whole part that bothers me, too, is that then
- 10:09Speaker 6: they're pissed at me that I'm not getting off the
- 10:11Speaker 6: plane fast enough because I've got to go back five
- 10:13Speaker 6: rows to get my luggage.
- 10:15Speaker 1: That's hell.
- 10:15Speaker 6: I'm like, hey, if you want to hand it to me,
- 10:17Speaker 6: I'll move, but I'm not moving.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Until I get my luggage.
- 10:20Speaker 4: How does that even work? How do you even go
- 10:21Speaker 4: backwards to get your crap when everyone's standing in the aisle?
- 10:23Speaker 1: Because you have to wait for everybody. Oh, no way.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You've got to be like a salmon going upstream. You
- 10:27Speaker 1: wait for the break because someone's getting their stuff out
- 10:29Speaker 1: of the overhead. Now there's a break in the action,
- 10:31Speaker 1: so now let you move back five or six rows before...
- 10:34Speaker 1: then the flow starts coming again. You gotta wait for
- 10:37Speaker 1: another break.
- 10:37Speaker 4: That's why I paid for priority, 20 bucks.
- 10:40Speaker 1: 40 bucks.
- 10:40Speaker 2: A plane is like the restroom at work where people
- 10:42Speaker 2: just go in it and lose their minds. They forget
- 10:47Speaker 2: how to act. They forget what to do. They don't
- 10:48Speaker 2: know how to count.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Well, if you guys remember a year ago, I caught
- 10:51Speaker 3: a guy doing it, and the stewardess didn't catch her,
- 10:53Speaker 3: and I wrote him a note and put it, and
- 10:55Speaker 3: I waited until he was, you know, later in the mid-flight.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I said, do I have a bomb?
- 10:59Speaker 3: I said, I wiped my poo hands on this note,
- 11:03Speaker 3: and now it's on your bag. Don't put your crap
- 11:06Speaker 3: up here again, essentially.
- 11:07Speaker 1: There was one airline that was messing with the idea.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I can't remember which one it was. So even if
- 11:12Speaker 1: you have a carry-on, before you get on board, you
- 11:15Speaker 1: put a color-coded tag based on where your seat is. Oh,
- 11:19Speaker 1: that's smart. If you're in rows one through... Five. It's
- 11:23Speaker 1: this color. So if they're looking for anything that's not
- 11:26Speaker 1: that color or doesn't have a tag.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Doesn't belong.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And then those come out and they go, bag.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Where is this?
- 11:32Speaker 1: I can't remember which. They're toying with the idea. That's
- 11:34Speaker 1: a good idea. This is a thing. And so, you know,
- 11:37Speaker 1: they always every once in a while will have a
- 11:38Speaker 1: debate about, all right, well, we're thinking about boarding back
- 11:40Speaker 1: to front. We're going to do all windows, then all middles,
- 11:42Speaker 1: then all aisles, which that would never go because people won't.
- 11:46Speaker 1: insist on getting on the plane at the same time
- 11:48Speaker 1: with whoever they're traveling with. I can't leave my wife alone.
- 11:51Speaker 1: For five whole seconds. If we're going to board all
- 11:53Speaker 1: the windows, then all the middle and all the aisles,
- 11:55Speaker 1: then that would mean that people are split up just
- 11:58Speaker 1: getting on the plane. You're going to reconvene in moments.
- 12:03Speaker 3: There was a stewardess a few flights ago who did
- 12:04Speaker 3: that because they got filled up up front where all
- 12:06Speaker 3: those cool people were.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And she's like, who's the bag is this? And we pointed.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Who's the bag? And she went.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And she took that bag out and walked it to
- 12:15Speaker 3: the back to shame that loser. Now, he should be
- 12:17Speaker 3: given like a six-month ban or whatever, but they won't
- 12:20Speaker 3: do that.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I have a friend who's a flight attendant.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Six-month ban. I support that.
- 12:23Speaker 2: And passengers will show the boarding pass and ask, where
- 12:26Speaker 2: is this seat? Do you not know how to count?
- 12:29Speaker 1: Do you see the number?
- 12:31Speaker 2: I don't get it. People go onto a plane and
- 12:33Speaker 2: they lose their minds. Yeah, true. Makes absolutely no sense.
- 12:37Speaker 1: All right. And then Greg Gorey, cheers and jeers.
- 12:41Speaker 2: So cheers to something that I've known has existed for
- 12:43Speaker 2: a long time, but I've never listened to a full
- 12:45Speaker 2: episode of the Smart List podcast.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Oh, it's great.
- 12:49Speaker 2: With Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman. And I
- 12:53Speaker 2: walked into a dermatologist appointment wearing a Depeche Mode shirt,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and the dermatologist said, Oh my God, I love Depeche Mode.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Did you listen to them when they were on Smart List?
- 13:02Speaker 2: I said, what?
- 13:03Speaker 1: They did?
- 13:04Speaker 2: I've never listened. So I went back and listened to it.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Apparently this was three years ago. And to hear stars
- 13:11Speaker 2: like legit Will Arnett and Sean Hayes were freaking out
- 13:17Speaker 2: that Dave and Martin from Depeche Mode were on their show.
- 13:20Speaker 2: They knew everything about the band. Will Arnett is so
- 13:24Speaker 2: musically literate. He knew so much about that era of music.
- 13:28Speaker 2: It was such a good listen. So fascinating. And I
- 13:31Speaker 2: would venture to say the best interview of Depeche Mode
- 13:34Speaker 2: that I've ever heard.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Wow.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I mean, they're real fans. And you're a real fan. Yes.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And to hear Sean Hayes talking, like he was shaking.
- 13:42Speaker 2: He was so geeked out. It was so enjoyable.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Are they talking about the music though? Or are they
- 13:47Speaker 1: talking about other stuff? Like their life.
- 13:49Speaker 2: It was very music heavy, but also just everyday stuff,
- 13:53Speaker 2: behind the scenes stuff. It was really a good listen.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 13:57Speaker 5: You enjoyed the Smartless HBO show when they followed them around.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it was called Smartless on the Road. That was
- 14:03Speaker 2: a lot of fun. But I never sat down and
- 14:06Speaker 2: just listened to an entire episode.
- 14:07Speaker 1: And you and I enjoyed them ripping on Jason Bateman.
- 14:12Speaker 1: And his diet. And his diet and how pain in
- 14:15Speaker 1: the ass he was.
- 14:16Speaker 2: He's got so many dietary restrictions.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he's tortured, too. So, Greg, you're saying surprise Depeche
- 14:20Speaker 1: Mode interviews are really interesting?
- 14:22Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Why don't you turn around behind you? I wish. I wish.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I like the interviews where they talk to people who are,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean, how many more questions about their own music
- 14:32Speaker 1: can you ask a band like Depeche Mode, right?
- 14:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Like, let's get into some other stuff. Let's talk about
- 14:37Speaker 1: these other things. I find those, the people who have
- 14:39Speaker 1: the ability to do interviews like that and get answers
- 14:43Speaker 1: out of, you know, whoever the, the person being interviewed, celebrity,
- 14:48Speaker 1: whatever they're famous for, like getting that kind of like
- 14:51Speaker 1: deeper insight or like, okay, they've been asked the same
- 14:54Speaker 1: question a thousand times. They have. Like what else?
- 14:57Speaker 2: This was more of like their origin story. It was
- 15:00Speaker 2: revealed that Martin Gore once went to a taping of
- 15:03Speaker 2: Will and Grace and They went backstage and told Sean Hayes,
- 15:06Speaker 2: who played Jack, hey, Martin Gore's in the audience. And
- 15:08Speaker 2: he kind of threw him.
- 15:11Speaker 1: See, that's what I'm talking about. That's the more interesting stuff.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a lot of stuff from their olden
- 15:17Speaker 2: days and how they formed. It was so good.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 15:20Speaker 2: And sadly, Jason Bateman said almost nothing during this interview
- 15:24Speaker 2: because it was all about Will Arnett and Sean Hayes
- 15:27Speaker 2: being such geeked out fans to have them on the show.
- 15:30Speaker 2: So that's very good. Cheers to that. jeers and i
- 15:33Speaker 2: sent woody and gina a photo to the girl who
- 15:36Speaker 2: ruined a fine dining experience simply by having the world's
- 15:41Speaker 2: biggest nose ring and i couldn't not stare at it
- 15:45Speaker 2: simply by existing so big just by existing it ruined
- 15:49Speaker 2: my meal it was so annoying and a preemptive comment
- 15:54Speaker 2: to people who say Well, what about a little tiny
- 15:56Speaker 2: diamond stud? That's like saying, hey, do you want to
- 15:58Speaker 2: get stabbed by a knife? But what if you just
- 16:00Speaker 2: get stabbed by a little knife?
- 16:01Speaker 1: No, I don't want either.
- 16:03Speaker 2: It looks terrible.
- 16:04Speaker 1: You look terrible.
- 16:05Speaker 4: It was so distracting.
- 16:06Speaker 1: It was like a bull ring.
- 16:08Speaker 2: So big.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You weren't having a meal with this person. They were
- 16:11Speaker 1: at a different table?
- 16:12Speaker 2: Nope, but she ruined my day. Simply by, I mean... disgusting.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Was this a ring, septum piercing?
- 16:20Speaker 2: A bull ring.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Gigantic.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I'll tell you what's worse than that, Greg, and I'm
- 16:25Speaker 3: sure you've seen it, is when they connect the nose
- 16:28Speaker 3: ring and the septum piercing with a chain to their
- 16:30Speaker 3: ear or something.
- 16:32Speaker 1: This is a fad.
- 16:33Speaker 3: You will look back on this in 15 years, like
- 16:35Speaker 3: Bell Bottoms or The Pet Rock, and you will shudder
- 16:37Speaker 3: at how stupid you were.
- 16:39Speaker 2: And then these are the people that look in the
- 16:41Speaker 2: mirror before they go out for the day and go, yep.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Looks good. That's the look.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Are you clinically insane?
- 16:47Speaker 1: And by the way, you weren't doing this 10 years ago.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Why?
- 16:49Speaker 1: Because it wasn't a fad. You're a stupid sheep who's
- 16:51Speaker 1: following the herd.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I know. I shouldn't look.
- 16:54Speaker 5: One of your really good friends.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Oh, I know. Wait, does she still have it?
- 16:58Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Oh, she does?
- 16:59Speaker 1: And she's had it for what?
- 17:00Speaker 2: She's had, well, she has two. She had the bull ring,
- 17:02Speaker 2: which she took out, but she still has the, Little
- 17:05Speaker 2: stud thing.
- 17:06Speaker 1: And you never bring it up?
- 17:08Speaker 2: I've told her that it needs to go.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I mean, having an opinion one way or the other
- 17:13Speaker 1: is one thing.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 1: But the fact that it ruined your meal. I'm being hyperbolic.
- 17:17Speaker 1: It ruined your night out.
- 17:18Speaker 4: It definitely distracted you.
- 17:20Speaker 2: The way she was sitting was angled right where my
- 17:22Speaker 2: face was facing.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And I'm like, damn it. You had to sit there.
- 17:26Speaker 2: And now I have to look at this disgusting wobbling thing. Which.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Like flinging in and out like. It was so big
- 17:32Speaker 2: that it wouldn't even sit still. Ew.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Flapping around.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And people are like, oh, don't look at it. Well,
- 17:37Speaker 1: if it's in my face, I'm kind of forced to.
- 17:39Speaker 2: I was forced to.
- 17:41Speaker 1: You were.
- 17:43Speaker 2: It was bad.
- 17:44Speaker 1: The name of the podcast, I'm going to text. The
- 17:46Speaker 1: name of the podcast was The Smartless Podcast. Yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Very good listen. For all I know, all of them
- 17:52Speaker 2: are great. They are. But this one in particular.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Because they have that same.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Banter, yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 2: It was really good.
- 17:56Speaker 1: 877-44-WOODY. Text us, like all these other people are doing
- 18:01Speaker 1: over here, to 229-87-619, saying, Billy Corgan seemed like a
- 18:05Speaker 1: douche to Woody this past weekend when I was watching. No,
- 18:07Speaker 1: he wasn't at all. No, he was so nice. He
- 18:10Speaker 1: was super cool to you, man. What? Where did they
- 18:12Speaker 1: catch that?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Eight feet tall.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Well, if you're watching on Hulu, I don't know. I
- 18:17Speaker 1: didn't see how the coverage ended up looking.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:20Speaker 6: That's weird.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Because he was super cool. Yeah. No, he was mega cool.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And you know what? I'll be honest, years ago, I
- 18:28Speaker 1: was working in Chicago, so Billy Corgan's hometown, right? And
- 18:33Speaker 1: so he's just always around. And they're like, oh, Billy
- 18:36Speaker 1: wants to come in and talk about whatever it is.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I go, ah. Because I'd never spent any time.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And I just heard different things, you know, and I'm like, oh, man.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Or some of the times you see he might have
- 18:49Speaker 1: a take on something, whatever, and it drives people nuts,
- 18:51Speaker 1: and they go, oh, well, so-and-so is a jerk.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I go, I don't know. I wasn't really excited about
- 18:58Speaker 1: him coming in. He came in. He spent like three hours.
- 19:00Speaker 1: He was so much fun. Yeah. And he was very cool.
- 19:04Speaker 1: And it's one of the more memorable for me of
- 19:07Speaker 1: all the different people that we've talked to or I've
- 19:10Speaker 1: had on shows that I've been a part of. He
- 19:12Speaker 1: was great. I thought he was great at the iHeart Festival.
- 19:16Speaker 1: He was super cool. And, man, they have these bands.
- 19:18Speaker 1: They have these artists doing so many things. So they're
- 19:21Speaker 1: going from one thing to the next thing to the
- 19:23Speaker 1: next thing. Everything is very quick and abbreviated because... They
- 19:26Speaker 1: had a thousand different things. Super cool. And it would
- 19:28Speaker 1: be very easy for someone to, like, you know, lose
- 19:31Speaker 1: their patience or, you know, have an attitude or whatever.
- 19:34Speaker 1: And he was cool.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and we're playing games backstage with Weezer, and, like,
- 19:38Speaker 5: the band members were being.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Really, really cool. They were so funny.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Because I didn't know, like, okay, how's this going to
- 19:43Speaker 5: play out?
- 19:43Speaker 1: We're, like, telling the band, play games with, you know.
- 19:46Speaker 4: They loved it.
- 19:47Speaker 1: They were super cool.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Yeah, and they were really, really awesome.
- 19:49Speaker 1: You know who else was very nice was Megan Lawless
- 19:51Speaker 1: she was awesome dude from Obsession yeah really really cool
- 19:55Speaker 1: yeah yeah she was very sweet she was very nice yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 6: She hung out all night man I seen her in
- 19:59Speaker 6: the casino later on that night too.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Trying to remember who I did an intro for one
- 20:03Speaker 1: of the bands oh Weezer was it Weezer yeah yeah
- 20:06Speaker 1: with her yeah she was awesome she was very nice
- 20:09Speaker 1: very nice 877-44-WOODY. We'll take a break. We'll come back.
- 20:13Speaker 1: More Woody Show next. Hang on.
- 20:14Speaker 6: The Woody Show.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Be back in a bit.
