- 0:57Speaker 5: We invited you to our live show, our second one.
- 1:00Speaker 5: We got your the world. I bought you a toy
- 1:05Speaker 5: cruiserweight title from Target. And if I didn't do that,
- 1:07Speaker 5: Vince would have said, let's not shrap this guy up
- 1:11Speaker 5: that moment. Oh yeah, but yeah, and he said, you
- 1:15Speaker 5: know what, let's shop this guy up.
- 1:16Speaker 6: But his uh, it's home down, even though it's New Jersey.
- 1:19Speaker 6: But yes, I was there for that. You know that's
- 1:24Speaker 6: pretty crazy. I was there for that, all right.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So yeah, we have this.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Interview listen, let me get this off the right off
- 1:30Speaker 5: the bat. You just interviewed me any earlier, as Tony knows.
- 1:32Speaker 5: We'll talk about later. I need to eat, Tony, I
- 1:35Speaker 5: know you.
- 1:36Speaker 2: The same way.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Right now I'm drinking a protein shake with oats because
- 1:40Speaker 5: this is too earl. I couldn't I couldn't get a
- 1:42Speaker 5: full meal in before this. What do you think to say?
- 1:45Speaker 5: Why do you agree?
- 1:46Speaker 3: I got kids, I've been up since six a m.
- 1:48Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, but you're still he's Slater's giving.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Now do you eat right away?
- 1:56Speaker 4: Then?
- 1:57Speaker 2: How do you? Yeah?
- 2:00Speaker 3: I eat right away. Usually it's wake up and I
- 2:02Speaker 3: immediately start cooking eggs for the family.
- 2:04Speaker 2: There you go.
- 2:05Speaker 7: Maybe hard game, Tony.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Just like me, even the kids. The kids are getting
- 2:09Speaker 1: the game.
- 2:10Speaker 2: The kids are due.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah, my kid, Yeah, my son is ridiculous. He eats
- 2:15Speaker 3: like so he'll he'll my wife will get up when
- 2:18Speaker 3: he gets up, and she'll immediately give him like a
- 2:20Speaker 3: waffle and some fruit and stuff. And then like a
- 2:23Speaker 3: half hour to an hour later, I get up, I
- 2:24Speaker 3: make eggs and toasts and stuff, and then he eats
- 2:26Speaker 3: that whole meal like he's insane.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Wow, that's great funny.
- 2:30Speaker 5: What's what's what's up? Pretend you don't have kids. Were second,
- 2:32Speaker 5: you're not cooking your family? You wake up, what what
- 2:35Speaker 5: is Tony needs eating for breakfast? Not like on the road,
- 2:38Speaker 5: like in a perfect world scenario. I want to hear
- 2:40Speaker 5: both versions. Perfect world scenario, you wake up on a
- 2:42Speaker 5: fucking Tuesday, you got nothing to do all the time
- 2:45Speaker 5: in the world. What are you eating for breakfast? And
- 2:47Speaker 5: then on the flip side, all right, you're on the
- 2:49Speaker 5: fucking road. You just woke up and you're fucking Marriott,
- 2:52Speaker 5: what do you do for breakfast? I want to hear
- 2:54Speaker 5: both both.
- 2:55Speaker 3: So I'm pretty basic with my at home, it's always eggs.
- 2:59Speaker 3: It's either hard boiled or scrambled. I'll do that with
- 3:02Speaker 3: toast and butter.
- 3:03Speaker 7: How many give me details?
- 3:05Speaker 3: I don't know. You want to No, I'll do, I'll do.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I'll do like five eggs scrambled. If I'm doing hard boiled,
- 3:14Speaker 3: it's usually like like three to four eggs. I'll make
- 3:17Speaker 3: like five or six, But then my kids steal them
- 3:19Speaker 3: from me, so now I now I'll just may always
- 3:23Speaker 3: make extra of everything. But yeah, it's usually like like
- 3:25Speaker 3: four or five eggs hard boiled, Like yeah, like five
- 3:27Speaker 3: eggs scrambled, just a piece of toast with butter, and
- 3:31Speaker 3: then I'll do a bowl of oatmeal, like about like
- 3:34Speaker 3: a cup of oatmeal.
- 3:37Speaker 7: I like that.
- 3:37Speaker 4: That's exactly exactly a Brosque would eat on the road.
- 3:42Speaker 2: But if we went to a restaurant, he'd order that.
- 3:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so the amount of eggs would vary.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Like in the most extreme ways to like you know,
- 3:50Speaker 4: the littlest bit to like this mountain that no man
- 3:52Speaker 4: could eat, brutal bobs.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I've done the same thing, like I've gone to uh,
- 3:59Speaker 3: cracker Barrel is a good one, and actually they got
- 4:01Speaker 3: rid of their oatmeal now, but I used to always
- 4:04Speaker 3: get uh yeah, I used to always get the oatmeal
- 4:06Speaker 3: cracker barrel like a side of bacon, and I'd get
- 4:09Speaker 3: like I at one point I was asking them for
- 4:12Speaker 3: like ten eggs, just ten over easy eggs or whatever,
- 4:16Speaker 3: but like normally I'll ask for just like five eggs,
- 4:19Speaker 3: and then I think, I believe they're always like confused,
- 4:21Speaker 3: and then I have to tell them how to do
- 4:23Speaker 3: their job. Like you can go in the computer and
- 4:24Speaker 3: ring it in and some of.
- 4:27Speaker 5: These places, like like a waffle house, you get eight
- 4:29Speaker 5: egg whites.
- 4:30Speaker 7: I guarantee.
- 4:31Speaker 5: You get eight egg whites at one waffle house, you
- 4:33Speaker 5: get the same white house later in the day, different.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Portion of eggs.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it's so weird, it's unbelievable. It's just bet cracking
- 4:40Speaker 5: that egg white. You know, Are you really taking your
- 4:42Speaker 5: time get all that egg white out?
- 4:44Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 4:44Speaker 3: Well, I'm uh so, you're just an egg whier.
- 4:47Speaker 2: You're not a whole egg guy.
- 4:48Speaker 7: No, I'm definitely a whole legged guy at home. On
- 4:50Speaker 7: the road. Sometimes I do egg whites.
- 4:53Speaker 5: Listen, I mixed it up all the time, and sometimes
- 4:55Speaker 5: the waffle house will do like eight egg whites, but
- 4:57Speaker 5: they're two over easy eggs on the side.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Oh I do I do something now that I heard
- 5:03Speaker 3: that you do is pretty much as much salt as possible.
- 5:07Speaker 7: That's right.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so so I've been because like I
- 5:10Speaker 3: would always do a lot of salt, but I'm like
- 5:12Speaker 3: Mike might go a little overboard. And then they were like, oh,
- 5:14Speaker 3: Brosky does as much as you can handle?
- 5:15Speaker 1: My go right, what's the thought process there?
- 5:18Speaker 7: You're a fucking athlete.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the sodium is good for you.
- 5:22Speaker 2: As an athlete, correct, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, because.
- 5:29Speaker 3: That you know, so the whole idea of like water
- 5:33Speaker 3: retention and stuff with salt. Uh, it's not necessarily if
- 5:36Speaker 3: you take a lot or if you take a little,
- 5:38Speaker 3: it's if you fluctuate a lot. So when you fluctuate
- 5:41Speaker 3: your salt a lot, that's when your body starts to
- 5:42Speaker 3: retain water more.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Got it?
- 5:44Speaker 3: So you want to kind of stay consistent.
- 5:47Speaker 1: So let me ask you this since we were just
- 5:49Speaker 1: talking about eggs. I know for a fact, a lot
- 5:52Speaker 1: of people are confused about eggs. They think that they're bad.
- 5:57Speaker 1: The cholesterol, the fat, all that stuff's good for you. Yes, yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 1: is there any reasoning? Barger? What can you explain to
- 6:06Speaker 1: the people who are just kind of starting out.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Uh So a lot of that comes from like just
- 6:10Speaker 3: older media blowing up like they heard, you know, we
- 6:13Speaker 3: heard that when people have high cholesterol, they're usually unhealthy.
- 6:16Speaker 3: So we think cholesterol is bad. But the whole thing
- 6:19Speaker 3: is our body actually creates cholesterol, so we create it.
- 6:24Speaker 3: So when our cholesterol is high, it means our body
- 6:26Speaker 3: is creating more to fix something else that's wrong. So
- 6:29Speaker 3: the problem is not that you have you're eating too
- 6:32Speaker 3: high of cholesterol foods. It means that there's something else wrong.
- 6:34Speaker 3: So normally it's weight loss or something like that. So really,
- 6:40Speaker 3: like I lost my train to thought here for a second.
- 6:43Speaker 3: But like, yeah, with foods with high cholesterol, like none
- 6:47Speaker 3: of that matters, and your body's going to dump out
- 6:50Speaker 3: it access cholesterol and everything. But you need actually like
- 6:53Speaker 3: your brain functions on that. So when a lot of
- 6:56Speaker 3: clients like well a lot of people go to a
- 6:58Speaker 3: doctor in this and the doctor's like, hey, you got
- 6:59Speaker 3: high cholesterol. Uh, their immediate thing is, all right, let's
- 7:03Speaker 3: lower the cholesterol. A doctor's not caring about you exercise
- 7:06Speaker 3: or anything. Their job is to just you came in
- 7:09Speaker 3: with high cholesterol. I'm gonna make that lower. So they
- 7:11Speaker 3: give you statin drugs and stuff like that. And then
- 7:14Speaker 3: what happens with staaten drugs is it makes your body
- 7:16Speaker 3: dump out its own natural cholesterol. And then that's where
- 7:19Speaker 3: people start to see a lot of other problems within
- 7:21Speaker 3: their body. A lot of it's usually believe it or not,
- 7:23Speaker 3: mental problems because it dumps out a lot of the
- 7:25Speaker 3: cholesterol in your brain. So getting in foods with cholesterol
- 7:30Speaker 3: is actually good for you if you have high cholesterol.
- 7:33Speaker 3: It's not the foods you're eating, it's it's something else
- 7:36Speaker 3: that's wrong, and normally it's you need to get up
- 7:39Speaker 3: and start exercising.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So you mentioned clients there, and since we're just starting
- 7:45Speaker 1: out here.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I'm confused your client, Yeah, what's go what's going on here?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Son? Can you tell so I know that you used
- 7:55Speaker 1: to be a trainer and now you're doing it again,
- 7:57Speaker 1: So can you sort of explained a little bit about
- 8:01Speaker 1: your qualifications?
- 8:03Speaker 2: Trainer? He had no clients, that is true. He was
- 8:10Speaker 2: a personal trainer. He never had a client though.
- 8:12Speaker 7: It was only for a couple of weeks and then
- 8:13Speaker 7: I got signed to the reach.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I quit.
- 8:15Speaker 3: So where where are you working?
- 8:17Speaker 2: He used to just wipe the machines down and walk around.
- 8:19Speaker 5: I put the forty fives back stuff like that, Like
- 8:24Speaker 5: the gold Gimate in Belmore is now ix Finness. I
- 8:26Speaker 5: was literally there for like not even two weeks, and
- 8:29Speaker 5: then I got I wasn't even certified. I didn't he
- 8:32Speaker 5: was cheating. His dad took the test for him. I
- 8:35Speaker 5: think my dad just told the guy to give me
- 8:37Speaker 5: a job. I can't be a personal trainer that being certified,
- 8:40Speaker 5: but it almost was.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Yeah I did, uh so I was training for man.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I forget how many years it was Before w W,
- 8:48Speaker 3: i'd say like ten or twelve years. Wow, I've been training,
- 8:53Speaker 3: but like I've been so I started off just kind
- 8:55Speaker 3: of doing uh, person like at home training and stuff
- 8:58Speaker 3: like that, just like uh, you know people I knew
- 9:00Speaker 3: and everything, until like I started to build a resume,
- 9:04Speaker 3: and then I started working at I would just jump
- 9:06Speaker 3: from gym. I mean, trainers always do that, You kind
- 9:08Speaker 3: of just jump from gym to gym after you cycle
- 9:10Speaker 3: through a bunch of clients. And then I worked for
- 9:14Speaker 3: the first corporate gym I worked for was Lifetime Fitness.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I worked at that for a while and actually the
- 9:20Speaker 3: good thing with them is I acquired like a ton
- 9:22Speaker 3: of new certifications and stuff like that and education through them.
- 9:27Speaker 3: But then I got signed with WW took like a
- 9:30Speaker 3: five year hiatus, and now I'm doing the online coaching, which,
- 9:34Speaker 3: believe or not, I thought at first jumping into online coaching,
- 9:37Speaker 3: I was like, all right, this is gonna be a
- 9:38Speaker 3: little weird kind of just doing it through the computer.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I'm so used to always just being one on one
- 9:43Speaker 3: with someone, and it ends up it's so much better, Like,
- 9:47Speaker 3: believe it or not, my clients right now or have
- 9:50Speaker 3: been way more accountable than my clients in the past,
- 9:53Speaker 3: and I'm wondering if it's because we're all so tied
- 9:56Speaker 3: to our phones nowadays that like having an app to
- 9:59Speaker 3: like constantly t talk to me and check in with
- 10:01Speaker 3: me and stuff like that, Like I feel like it
- 10:03Speaker 3: keeps them accountable twenty four to seven, which is pretty cool.
- 10:07Speaker 1: In the gym and talking to you once a week or.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Exactly like most clients, you know, they they will set
- 10:14Speaker 3: up maybe one to two days a week is like
- 10:16Speaker 3: the average with a client, so like you'll you'll train
- 10:19Speaker 3: with them and then you'll give them like Okay, I
- 10:22Speaker 3: want you to do this the rest of the week.
- 10:23Speaker 3: But usually the second they walk away from that session there,
- 10:26Speaker 3: they don't even think about you or care about it anymore.
- 10:30Speaker 3: So yeah, no, definitely, the online training notes seems to
- 10:33Speaker 3: be like way more, way more hands on and accountable
- 10:37Speaker 3: with my clients, which is cool.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Great when did like get all like the physical fitness
- 10:42Speaker 4: stuff like click with you because like, like I said,
- 10:43Speaker 4: we've known you fromost twenty years now, and like it's
- 10:46Speaker 4: hard for people to think this way, but that I
- 10:48Speaker 4: met you were a skinny, skinny, skinny dude, like no
- 10:52Speaker 4: muscle mass whatsoever.
- 10:54Speaker 2: So you call that you've come a long way.
- 10:57Speaker 7: He still had the he was very very lead.
- 10:59Speaker 4: A friend was always there, but no nowhere near like
- 11:02Speaker 4: you know, and obviously you're a young man as well
- 11:05Speaker 4: back then, but you.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Know the biggest. Uh So, when I joined the wrestling school,
- 11:10Speaker 3: like I knew I was small and I had to
- 11:12Speaker 3: put on size. But then like what was it. I
- 11:15Speaker 3: got like my first kind of taste of doing extra
- 11:19Speaker 3: work and stuff and getting to go see like everyone
- 11:21Speaker 3: at we and everything. And that was when I had there.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I like looked around and I was like, oh shit,
- 11:25Speaker 3: I need to like put on size, Like I'm not
- 11:27Speaker 3: going to get any taller, so I need to somehow
- 11:30Speaker 3: get bigger and look legit. So so I just I
- 11:35Speaker 3: subscribed to Muscle and Fitness. I bought the Arnold's Encyclopedia,
- 11:39Speaker 3: and I read through it twice, like I yeah, I
- 11:42Speaker 3: just all of a sudden, I just got so And
- 11:45Speaker 3: the funny thing is, in my mind, I was like,
- 11:46Speaker 3: I'm doing this for wrestling. I'm doing this for wrestling.
- 11:48Speaker 3: But slowly I just started becoming more and more passionate
- 11:51Speaker 3: about fitness.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I mean, I know.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Both you know, all of us kind of get like
- 11:56Speaker 3: that in our own way, and uh yeah, it just
- 11:58Speaker 3: became like a passion for me. And then, like I
- 12:01Speaker 3: guess because of how I looked and how I was
- 12:04Speaker 3: responding to it, like everyone kind of starts to look
- 12:06Speaker 3: at you and start asking you, hey, you, what are
- 12:09Speaker 3: you doing?
- 12:09Speaker 2: What is this?
- 12:10Speaker 3: And so that's when it started to click, like, man,
- 12:13Speaker 3: I should people listening to me, they're they're asking me
- 12:16Speaker 3: for advice. I should become a trainer. And that's kind
- 12:18Speaker 3: of with just like when all that passion kind of
- 12:20Speaker 3: snowballed and stuff, but we're putting on the size and everything.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I started researching like bodybuilders that had the same situation,
- 12:30Speaker 3: like guys who got into bodybuilding that started off really small,
- 12:33Speaker 3: I know, like Ky Green's one of them and everything,
- 12:36Speaker 3: and I would just start to read about their diets,
- 12:38Speaker 3: and a lot of them kind of just said, hey,
- 12:40Speaker 3: like we're small and we need calories. We need to
- 12:43Speaker 3: not sit there worrying about where our calories are coming from.
- 12:46Speaker 3: We need to just get calories in. So I started
- 12:48Speaker 3: like I would work out and then I'd go to
- 12:50Speaker 3: McDonald's and I'd get like a double quarter pounder with cheese,
- 12:54Speaker 3: like a six piece nugget, a fish filet sandwich, and
- 12:56Speaker 3: a triple thick shake.
- 12:58Speaker 4: God awesome, Right, I couldn't eat that if you paid me, Like,
- 13:02Speaker 4: I justldn't eat that much.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think I could anymore, like without like
- 13:08Speaker 3: just having to like sit on the couch for hours after.
- 13:13Speaker 5: So everyone's different, though, So you're a hard gainer kind
- 13:17Speaker 5: of like myself. But you can't you can't be telling
- 13:20Speaker 5: everybody to eat everyone. We need to let everyone know. Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 5: everyone needs to go. I always to the you know,
- 13:26Speaker 5: to the McDonald's at the gym. It's guys like like
- 13:28Speaker 5: Tony and I who like are struggling to keep the
- 13:30Speaker 5: weight on, not only put it on, but to keep
- 13:32Speaker 5: it on.
- 13:33Speaker 7: Keeping it on is hard. It's harder than putting it on.
- 13:35Speaker 4: I would describe myself as the complete opposite and I
- 13:38Speaker 4: did never even realize that was a thing until Matt
- 13:40Speaker 4: and I lived together in Deep South for the first
- 13:42Speaker 4: time and we're doing these hllacious boot camp style training days,
- 13:47Speaker 4: I mean for ten hours and then we'd like go
- 13:49Speaker 4: back and Brosk be eating ice cream it in his
- 13:51Speaker 4: bed until he fell asleep, and I was like, I
- 13:54Speaker 4: remember being like, what the fuck, Like, how is that
- 13:56Speaker 4: a thing? Because because my body, I couldn't do that,
- 14:00Speaker 4: Like that's not how like my body would react to that.
- 14:04Speaker 5: No way, Everyone's body is different, and I'm sure Tony
- 14:06Speaker 5: will will tell you because he knows. He's really like trained,
- 14:09Speaker 5: you know, like you gotta like figure it all out.
- 14:12Speaker 5: There's no exact sign. You got to figure out your
- 14:15Speaker 5: body because everyone's different. There's no obviously you could read
- 14:18Speaker 5: and get like a little blueprint, but there's no like
- 14:22Speaker 5: heead a to z, like You're gonna have to experiment.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Even now, I'm learning new things. Our bodies still changing
- 14:27Speaker 5: as we get older as well, and you get used
- 14:30Speaker 5: to certain things like like you know, Tony, you said
- 14:32Speaker 5: you can't eat at McDonald's anymore.
- 14:34Speaker 7: You know, but like body's changing.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, so like and now like as I gotten older,
- 14:38Speaker 3: I realized my fats are more I have to be
- 14:41Speaker 3: more cautious with the fats part. I start to feel
- 14:44Speaker 3: that a little more. But the one good thing is
- 14:46Speaker 3: like my body still responds to carbs as it would
- 14:49Speaker 3: for like as like protein. Like so for me, carbs
- 14:52Speaker 3: is just like protein. The more carbs I have, the
- 14:54Speaker 3: more muscle mass I'll put on and that tends to
- 14:57Speaker 3: be like the good thing is and I've always thought
- 15:01Speaker 3: this too at first, was whatever body type you're you're at,
- 15:06Speaker 3: like you have to stick with that eating forever. And
- 15:09Speaker 3: that's not necessarily true as well, Like you can actually
- 15:13Speaker 3: train your metabolism. So like a lot of clients who
- 15:16Speaker 3: are sup you know, super overweight, they're the biggest thing
- 15:21Speaker 3: is like I'll keep their protein high, try to keep
- 15:23Speaker 3: everything low. Plus their calories are already pretty low to
- 15:26Speaker 3: begin with. But then as they start to lose and
- 15:28Speaker 3: we want to put that muscle on, we actually, I
- 15:30Speaker 3: actually will start to increase their their carbs and there
- 15:33Speaker 3: and their bodies carb tolerance starts to get better and better.
- 15:36Speaker 3: And then as soon as they get their body to
- 15:39Speaker 3: the right transformation, and if they've trained their metabolism right,
- 15:41Speaker 3: like they should be able to eat a little bit
- 15:43Speaker 3: more lenient as they you know, every day and stuff,
- 15:46Speaker 3: they can start to have more candy and snacks and
- 15:49Speaker 3: stuff like that to to get their calories in because
- 15:51Speaker 3: their body is now responding better to it. But that's uh, yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 3: it's all different, and and our bodies are everyone's always changing,
- 15:59Speaker 3: like you said, like you you know, older. Now it's
- 16:02Speaker 3: a lot different. You can't eat like that anymore. Like
- 16:04Speaker 3: everyone's different, everyone's changing, And the biggest thing is tracking
- 16:07Speaker 3: your progress. Like as long as you're constantly staying on
- 16:10Speaker 3: top of like your calories and how much body fat
- 16:14Speaker 3: you have and stuff like that, you can kind of
- 16:16Speaker 3: see which direction you're going and what you need to tweak.
- 16:20Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know this, but Tony Nese
- 16:23Speaker 1: actually has. He has a lot of heat aw because
- 16:27Speaker 1: he is the guy who can have four brownies right
- 16:29Speaker 1: in front of everybody just doesn't even care. Then go
- 16:32Speaker 1: wrestle a.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Mature That's that's my favorite. So like when I forget
- 16:35Speaker 3: what I think it was when I was when I
- 16:37Speaker 3: wrestled Swearve or whatever, Like, yeah, I was in catering
- 16:40Speaker 3: and I just started. After I ate, I just grabbed
- 16:41Speaker 3: a bunch of brownies and someone was like, oh, you're
- 16:44Speaker 3: off today, and I'm like, h No, I think I'm
- 16:46Speaker 3: a main event of Rampage.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I'll never forget. There was like a dark dark when
- 16:53Speaker 2: we started.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Batista took an entire cake from catering and he ate
- 16:56Speaker 4: it before he went out there, and I remember being like,
- 16:58Speaker 4: how is this possible?
- 17:00Speaker 3: Yeah, so like on the indies, on the Yeah, on
- 17:02Speaker 3: the indies and stuff. I would always bring like a
- 17:04Speaker 3: bag of sour Patch kids and stuff like that. That's
- 17:07Speaker 3: more of just getting like spiking your sugar and your
- 17:10Speaker 3: insulin levels like before you go out there, one for
- 17:13Speaker 3: energy and two for getting like a nice pump vascularity.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Kofe's like that.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I would ride with him like late night do drives
- 17:19Speaker 4: and he'd just be crushing like candy like that, and
- 17:21Speaker 4: I'm like, this is so unfair. If I did that
- 17:24Speaker 4: my love handles, I wouldn't be able to get out of
- 17:26Speaker 4: the car. You know, he's just doing it on purpose.
- 17:29Speaker 4: So what about the the the amount of time like
- 17:32Speaker 4: in the gym. Are you like a seven days a
- 17:33Speaker 4: week guy, five days a week guy?
- 17:35Speaker 5: Not like what you recommend, but you personally, I want
- 17:37Speaker 5: to hear your your kind of split, if you will.
- 17:40Speaker 3: So I try to go to the gym every day
- 17:43Speaker 3: I possibly can, having kids now and everything, that's not
- 17:46Speaker 3: always gonna happen. So I'd say on average, I'm there.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I'm at the gym at least five or six times
- 17:52Speaker 3: a week. The way I do it is I split.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I do a full body split. So I'll do a
- 17:57Speaker 3: back day than a chest day, than a leg day
- 17:59Speaker 3: and day and then like a corn cardio day. But
- 18:04Speaker 3: the uh, the way I'll do it, like it kind
- 18:07Speaker 3: of changes for me every week now based on my schedule.
- 18:10Speaker 3: But as long I just stay in that particular order,
- 18:12Speaker 3: but my rest days will, yeah, my rest days always
- 18:15Speaker 3: change and stuff like that. But I'll go I'll do
- 18:17Speaker 3: about fifteen twenty minutes cardio, like a like a medium cardio,
- 18:23Speaker 3: get my heart rate up and everything. Then my workout
- 18:27Speaker 3: is i'd say forty five minutes to an hour max.
- 18:32Speaker 3: But the unless it's like leg leg day, I'll go
- 18:35Speaker 3: a little longer. Sometimes I could take me like two hours,
- 18:37Speaker 3: especially if like my legs are really tight, I'll do
- 18:40Speaker 3: a lot of warm up stuff and then that's and
- 18:43Speaker 3: then if I'm doing a full cardio day, like, I
- 18:45Speaker 3: don't go any longer than like forty minutes for me. Also,
- 18:50Speaker 3: too much cardio, I'll lose a lot of size.
- 18:54Speaker 5: So that yeah, and with our crazy schedules, like you said,
- 18:59Speaker 5: like that's I'm I don't have like Wednesdays chest day. Yeah, Wednesdays,
- 19:03Speaker 5: whatever day it comes, like whenever it comes on Wednesday
- 19:07Speaker 5: or chest day, whatever that's on, whatever day it falls on.
- 19:10Speaker 7: Because like our schedule is so crazy. I'm sure with
- 19:12Speaker 7: kids it's even crazier.
- 19:14Speaker 3: And then and there's plenty of days where you get
- 19:16Speaker 3: off the plane and you're like, all right, today's leg day.
- 19:19Speaker 3: That's not happening. So I guess arms today or something
- 19:23Speaker 3: all the time. Yeah, yeah, So that's actually how I
- 19:28Speaker 3: uh so I have my torn bicep here. Uh, that's
- 19:32Speaker 3: actually how I tore. It was. I had like I
- 19:36Speaker 3: just came home from TV and I had relatives like
- 19:40Speaker 3: landing later in the afternoon. So I was like, all right,
- 19:42Speaker 3: I'm just gonna go straight from the airport right to
- 19:44Speaker 3: the gym. I'm going to bang out a quick leg workout.
- 19:46Speaker 3: And I do deadlifts on leg day, so it's like
- 19:49Speaker 3: I'll bang out that workout and then go. So I
- 19:51Speaker 3: wasn't even planning on going heavy. I just wanted to
- 19:53Speaker 3: get a decent workout in. And it was during that
- 19:55Speaker 3: while I was warming up, but I slept like crap
- 19:58Speaker 3: on the plane. I got like no sleep, I had
- 20:00Speaker 3: no water in me, and like everything in my body
- 20:03Speaker 3: was tight. It was just the recipe of disaster. And
- 20:06Speaker 3: as soon as I was doing, like my second warm up.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I came up for my deadlift. Yeah, I came up
- 20:11Speaker 3: for my deadlift and just everything tightened up on my
- 20:13Speaker 3: left side and I just felt my arm snap. Oh
- 20:16Speaker 3: my god, that sucked. Literally I dropped the bar. I
- 20:20Speaker 3: looked at my wife and I just went I just
- 20:22Speaker 3: tore my bicep and then I just and I just
- 20:26Speaker 3: sat there thinking about it, like what's the next step?
- 20:29Speaker 3: Do I go and get it fixed? Like do I
- 20:31Speaker 3: tell everyone? And I was in a weird position because
- 20:34Speaker 3: I just started with WW. So I was like, you
- 20:36Speaker 3: know what, I'm just going to keep this to myself,
- 20:38Speaker 3: and I just didn't tell anyone and just left it
- 20:40Speaker 3: as is.
- 20:41Speaker 5: Wow, I would have done the same thing in your position,
- 20:44Speaker 5: but I was I was contacting you. Done yeah, Like
- 20:48Speaker 5: I know you didn't get it. I was asking you
- 20:49Speaker 5: all these like hard hitting questions because it's it's different
- 20:54Speaker 5: for everybody, right you can't.
- 20:55Speaker 7: You have to make your own decision at the end
- 20:56Speaker 7: of the day.
- 20:57Speaker 5: But I was trying to get in by some people
- 20:58Speaker 5: I trusted, and you were definitely one of those people.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Because you're still performing at a high level. You look great,
- 21:02Speaker 5: just your biceps a little fucked up, No big deal.
- 21:05Speaker 3: He just flexes.
- 21:06Speaker 1: You watch he just flexes the one arm.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Yeah, so what I do.
- 21:09Speaker 3: It's it's funny like every time like someone will say
- 21:12Speaker 3: like something like okay, can we do this or whatever,
- 21:15Speaker 3: and I'm like, I gotta switch sides, like I have
- 21:18Speaker 3: to show the good. Like now, I'm like, well, isn't
- 21:20Speaker 3: there like a thing that like ho Cogan only takes
- 21:22Speaker 3: photos on one side?
- 21:24Speaker 2: All these dudes Brosky doesn't.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Now, I got my own.
- 21:28Speaker 2: We'll take a picture in last second, Helen in So
- 21:30Speaker 2: he's way bigger than.
- 21:32Speaker 1: That's the nuts for years. Three quarters of the photo
- 21:38Speaker 1: is the one arm. It's true.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Go to move.
- 21:42Speaker 7: Oh that's not that's not true.
- 21:44Speaker 1: All right, so we listen. We have a lot of questions,
- 21:47Speaker 1: uh from the major marks, did you guys, Matt and Brian,
- 21:50Speaker 1: did you have anything else you wanted to I mean,
- 21:52Speaker 1: we hit.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Him up with some stuff.
- 21:53Speaker 7: I do want to make sure he plugs.
- 21:55Speaker 4: I think that the major mark ones are more important
- 21:57Speaker 4: because they are more common man ones being brokere talking
- 22:00Speaker 4: up being on the road, being on the road, brother brother,
- 22:03Speaker 4: I don't think it's that relatable.
- 22:04Speaker 1: So let's well, I guess instead of waiting till the end. Well,
- 22:06Speaker 1: we'll talk about it at the end. So what is
- 22:09Speaker 1: it that you're doing right now specifically? How can major
- 22:12Speaker 1: marks get involved?
- 22:14Speaker 3: H Yeah, yeah, So I'm doing online coaching. I have
- 22:17Speaker 3: my own app and everything. It's four fifty fit dot
- 22:20Speaker 3: com and it's a it's a monthly based subscription and
- 22:23Speaker 3: it's it's one on one coaching, Like, uh, you'll fill
- 22:26Speaker 3: out what happens is my Like my client will sign up,
- 22:29Speaker 3: They'll fill out a whole questionnaire so I can get,
- 22:31Speaker 3: you know, pretty much a snapshot of who I'm dealing with.
- 22:33Speaker 3: And I'll spend the night and just write up a
- 22:38Speaker 3: meal plan and a workout plan for the client, send
- 22:41Speaker 3: it over to them, and then we have a messaging
- 22:43Speaker 3: system through the app. They can track their workouts every week.
- 22:46Speaker 3: They do weekly check ins with me, you know, we
- 22:49Speaker 3: check we do photos and body fat percentage, and we
- 22:53Speaker 3: just kind of discuss, you know, what what's been going on,
- 22:56Speaker 3: what we need to tweak, if I need to. Like
- 22:58Speaker 3: sometimes the clients all like, ah, these meals aren't working
- 23:01Speaker 3: for me, so I'll send them new meals whatever it
- 23:03Speaker 3: may be. But yeah, it's pretty it's pretty awesome. It's
- 23:05Speaker 3: a it's a hands on app that it's one on one.
- 23:08Speaker 3: It's twenty four to seven contact with me, and my
- 23:11Speaker 3: clients are loving it. It's actually a lot of fun,
- 23:14Speaker 3: more more fun than like I said, like I did
- 23:18Speaker 3: one on one training that was a lot of fun,
- 23:20Speaker 3: but this has been so much better I've been able
- 23:22Speaker 3: to deal with I've already like, you only have so
- 23:25Speaker 3: many hours in a day, so when I would train
- 23:27Speaker 3: clients at a gym, I can only crain so many clients, right,
- 23:32Speaker 3: so say you got like twenty thirty clients whatever with this,
- 23:34Speaker 3: Like I've already doubled my client tele because I'm able
- 23:38Speaker 3: to just help so many, so much more people because
- 23:41Speaker 3: every day it's just you know, I'm just constantly getting messages,
- 23:44Speaker 3: constantly working with people. So it's a lot of fun.
- 23:46Speaker 3: It's four fifty fit dot com. You just you go
- 23:49Speaker 3: in there, you fill out an application. And also if
- 23:52Speaker 3: you mentioned the major pot network to the sales rep
- 23:54Speaker 3: that you'll actually get a special You'll get a special
- 23:57Speaker 3: deal through me. So I'm gonnaka Yeah, I'm gonna do
- 23:59Speaker 3: an exclusive deal for all the major pod network followers.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Awesome, that's great, all right, speaking of the major pod network,
- 24:07Speaker 1: let's talk. Let's take some questions from our listeners. Chris D.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Giovanni says, I'm about to begin my hashtag major fitness
- 24:15Speaker 1: challenge journey. So I recently purchased a treadmill. What's a
- 24:20Speaker 1: good treadmill workout and food plan? I mean, obviously you're
- 24:22Speaker 1: not gonna give him a full food plan here, but
- 24:24Speaker 1: but he's got a treadmill. Is there any advice for
- 24:27Speaker 1: him just starting out?
- 24:29Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 24:29Speaker 3: Did he say I'm sorry? What did he say anything
- 24:32Speaker 3: about himself in that? Okay, So that's tough because you
- 24:37Speaker 3: could be yeah, you could already be lean or whatever,
- 24:41Speaker 3: or you could be someone who's overweight, whatever it may be.
- 24:45Speaker 3: So let's just say the question is losing weight because
- 24:49Speaker 3: this is a weight loss challenge you guys are.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Doing, or yeah, pretty much, I would say I would
- 24:52Speaker 1: consider this guy. Most of these people are trying to.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Lose weight loss, Okay, overall fitness, you know, bettering yourself in.
- 25:01Speaker 7: Any way, giddy guys, getting jacked everything.
- 25:04Speaker 3: So so when it comes to treadmill, my biggest thing
- 25:07Speaker 3: is we don't want to look at it. It's not
- 25:09Speaker 3: a matter of running. We're not trying to We're not
- 25:11Speaker 3: trying to do cardio for your lungs in your heart. Yes,
- 25:14Speaker 3: that's great for you, that's gonna come as well. But
- 25:16Speaker 3: the most important thing we want to do is we
- 25:18Speaker 3: want to do like energy expenditure. So the best thing
- 25:22Speaker 3: to do on a treadmill is going to be a
- 25:23Speaker 3: high incline with like a fast walk. So usually on
- 25:26Speaker 3: most treadmills it's around like three three point five. I
- 25:29Speaker 3: think with the walk pace and with the incline you
- 25:32Speaker 3: do is as high as tolerable. I say, even if
- 25:35Speaker 3: you're kind of hanging on a little, that's perfectly fine.
- 25:38Speaker 3: But doing that at like for like long periods of time,
- 25:40Speaker 3: thirty forty minutes, like that's gonna be your best fat
- 25:43Speaker 3: burning process on a treadmill. Because your legs are working,
- 25:47Speaker 3: which is your largest muscle. Your core is working as well,
- 25:50Speaker 3: So we're gonna we're gonna exert the most energy, we're
- 25:52Speaker 3: gonna burn the most calories with that. As for the
- 25:55Speaker 3: meal plan, if you're someone that I know nothing about,
- 25:59Speaker 3: I would just say make sure you're eating light and clean,
- 26:02Speaker 3: especially when it comes to weight loss. But really it
- 26:06Speaker 3: comes down to you. You really need to find out
- 26:08Speaker 3: your calorie intake, how much calories your body should be
- 26:12Speaker 3: getting in, because we all have we have a resting
- 26:15Speaker 3: metabolic rate, and then you have your active metabolic rate, right,
- 26:19Speaker 3: and that's how many calories your body burns when you're
- 26:21Speaker 3: at you know, working in an active state, and the
- 26:25Speaker 3: resting rate is what your body how much calories your
- 26:27Speaker 3: body burns when you're literally doing nothing. Let's just say
- 26:30Speaker 3: you woke up late in your bed and did nothing.
- 26:32Speaker 3: How many calories does your body burned to operate? We
- 26:35Speaker 3: never want to go lower than that number. When we
- 26:38Speaker 3: go lower than that number, that's and that's a lot
- 26:40Speaker 3: of people have that issue. They'll just immediately say I
- 26:43Speaker 3: want to lose weight and they just start eating very little.
- 26:45Speaker 3: They'll say, oh, I'll just do thirteen hundred calories whatever
- 26:48Speaker 3: it may be. That might be too low for your body,
- 26:50Speaker 3: too low for it to even operate. Therefore, now the
- 26:53Speaker 3: body is going to start to panic and it's going
- 26:54Speaker 3: to start to store fat for security reasons. So now
- 27:00Speaker 3: we want to always stay above that level. But then
- 27:02Speaker 3: we want to find out how much energy works we're spending,
- 27:05Speaker 3: and we want to stay below that level. Does that
- 27:08Speaker 3: make sense? So we want to eat enough so our
- 27:10Speaker 3: body's functioning properly, but we don't want to eat so
- 27:13Speaker 3: much that we're not burning enough calories to lose weight.
- 27:17Speaker 2: How does a person find that information out?
- 27:19Speaker 3: I mean, there's tons of formulas out there to start with.
- 27:22Speaker 3: So there's always the starting formula of you know, you
- 27:26Speaker 3: put in your age, your height, your weight, and stuff like.
- 27:28Speaker 1: That can give you a basic.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly. We start with a basic and then
- 27:35Speaker 3: it comes down from there. Then there's the science of adjusting,
- 27:39Speaker 3: kind of figuring out and like with that is is
- 27:41Speaker 3: you weigh yourself, you check your body fat and if
- 27:43Speaker 3: you notice that you're losing weight but you're also losing
- 27:46Speaker 3: muscle mass, Okay, we're not having enough excuse me, we're
- 27:49Speaker 3: not having enough calories. But if we're losing weight and
- 27:52Speaker 3: our muscle mass isn't going down or we're gaining muscle masks, well,
- 27:55Speaker 3: then we're doing the right thing. We're having enough calories,
- 27:58Speaker 3: but we're also burning Our body's not panicking anymore and
- 28:01Speaker 3: it's getting rid of that fat. So it's all kind
- 28:03Speaker 3: of just playing with that number. So it is a process,
- 28:06Speaker 3: and I think that's kind of always the downfall for
- 28:08Speaker 3: a lot of people is they'll they'll start, they'll pick
- 28:10Speaker 3: a number, they'll stick with it, and then when it
- 28:12Speaker 3: doesn't work, they quit. Yeah, rather than going, Okay, let's
- 28:15Speaker 3: start with this number and then let's let's let's figure
- 28:18Speaker 3: out next week. Okay, maybe we'll do more, maybe we'll
- 28:20Speaker 3: do less, and then you just got to play with it.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And it's a process, like you know, every single one
- 28:24Speaker 3: of us on here, we'll say that none of none
- 28:26Speaker 3: of this happened overnight.
- 28:28Speaker 2: We've done it.
- 28:28Speaker 3: You know, we've been doing it for years, and it's
- 28:30Speaker 3: you know, and and the fact that we've been able
- 28:32Speaker 3: to sustain it is because we've been doing it for
- 28:34Speaker 3: a long time. It's not because we did it overnight.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah. I've always had trouble with the calorie thing.
- 28:39Speaker 4: I think, for one, because I'm so terrible at math,
- 28:43Speaker 4: so it's like doesn't come easy. And then there would
- 28:45Speaker 4: be things like and then we've me and you had
- 28:47Speaker 4: this discussion years ago, like we've.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Been ww catering, like okay, right, what did I just eat?
- 28:51Speaker 4: I have no yeah, no freaking clue what that was
- 28:55Speaker 4: calorie wise, fat to protein to whatever.
- 28:58Speaker 3: When I was on a strict gaming plan, I would
- 29:01Speaker 3: bring a travel scale with me. And so what I
- 29:04Speaker 3: would do is I would actually bring a travel scale
- 29:07Speaker 3: and then I would I'd go to catering. Instead of
- 29:09Speaker 3: with a plate, I'd go with the cups, like the
- 29:12Speaker 3: coffee cups and stuff, and I'd fill like one with rice,
- 29:14Speaker 3: one with chicken, one with broccoli, and then I'd put
- 29:17Speaker 3: those on the scale and weigh them and then just
- 29:19Speaker 3: take out or add and then I pour them on
- 29:21Speaker 3: a plate and eat it. Yeah, it's that's when you
- 29:26Speaker 3: get a little intense with it and everything. So that
- 29:29Speaker 3: that's the hard part that you know a lot of
- 29:31Speaker 3: people like we're crazy right with it. This is just
- 29:34Speaker 3: what we love to do, so we'll we'll go to
- 29:36Speaker 3: that extreme where the average person is not going to
- 29:38Speaker 3: go to that extreme. So like the good thing with
- 29:41Speaker 3: with like my four to fifty fit program, I don't
- 29:44Speaker 3: tell you, hey, eat these calories, Like I'll give you
- 29:47Speaker 3: your your what your calories are going to be and everything,
- 29:49Speaker 3: but I'll actually give you the meals and the ingredients
- 29:52Speaker 3: of what had to make them. And all you have
- 29:54Speaker 3: to do is just look at the meals, cook them up,
- 29:56Speaker 3: and eat them. You don't have to worry about any
- 29:58Speaker 3: of the math or any stuff.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that's great.
- 30:03Speaker 1: A mark, he says, what is a typical day of eating?
- 30:07Speaker 1: Look for you, we talked about the breakfast, but I mean,
- 30:11Speaker 1: I guess you've sort of already talked about this. Is
- 30:13Speaker 1: there any anything else to add?
- 30:15Speaker 3: Uh? Yeah?
- 30:16Speaker 7: For me.
- 30:17Speaker 3: For me, it's eat as much as I possibly can.
- 30:19Speaker 3: So like when I was on a when I was
- 30:22Speaker 3: on like a strict gain because I was trying to
- 30:24Speaker 3: hit a specific number. I my calories were high. They
- 30:28Speaker 3: were like there were about five thousand calories. My carbs
- 30:32Speaker 3: were like six hundred grams of carbs, So it was
- 30:35Speaker 3: a lot of Yeah, it was a lot of stuff.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Bro I would look like Fred Ottlan.
- 30:41Speaker 1: So I think about that all the time.
- 30:44Speaker 3: So now I'm not eating that much, so I'm more
- 30:48Speaker 3: like a maintenance. But for me, like because I know
- 30:51Speaker 3: that I can have that much, Like I just when
- 30:54Speaker 3: I eat, I just eat, you know, Like when I'm hungry,
- 30:56Speaker 3: I eat, and I eat as much as I can
- 30:58Speaker 3: and then I stop. If I'm feeling full, then that's it.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I'm done. I don't force it anymore because like the
- 31:05Speaker 3: problem with that program is when I was getting higher
- 31:08Speaker 3: and higher, like I started like, yes, I was gaining,
- 31:11Speaker 3: but I was also bloated all day long because it's
- 31:13Speaker 3: a lot of calories for my body to handle. So
- 31:17Speaker 3: so nowadays I just eat and I know how much
- 31:20Speaker 3: I can handle, and I know, like I'll probably never
- 31:23Speaker 3: exceed my limit anyway. But if you're looking for quality
- 31:30Speaker 3: of food, it's like you already know the breakfast, lunch, lunch.
- 31:35Speaker 3: I'm a little bit cleaner, Like I always start my
- 31:36Speaker 3: day is pretty clean, and then they start to go.
- 31:39Speaker 3: They go a little crazy towards the end. But yeah,
- 31:41Speaker 3: my lunches will always be something good like grilled chicken
- 31:44Speaker 3: with vegetables, or like we'll make Ca citys or different
- 31:47Speaker 3: stuff like that. I usually post on my Instagram. I'll
- 31:50Speaker 3: always post like my lunches and stuff. Not always, but
- 31:52Speaker 3: I'll have like the type of lunches that I have
- 31:54Speaker 3: on there. And then between my meals is when I'll
- 31:58Speaker 3: start to like kind of just snack on things. Whether
- 32:00Speaker 3: it's like I don't know, I'll eat like I I
- 32:04Speaker 3: do like to eat a lot of fruit and stuff
- 32:06Speaker 3: like that, but like I'll add like pino, you know,
- 32:07Speaker 3: if I'm having a banana, I'll add like peanut butter
- 32:09Speaker 3: with it stuff like that, and then nighttime, after my dinner,
- 32:13Speaker 3: nighttime is just that's where it just becomes like I'll
- 32:16Speaker 3: eat ice cream. I'll eat uh, Like my favorite cookie
- 32:19Speaker 3: is those EO Fudge cookies and I can eat them
- 32:21Speaker 3: by the package, So I'll just sit down and eat
- 32:23Speaker 3: like a whole package Io fudge cookies or something like that.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Okay, guys, if you're if you're trying to lose some weight, this.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Might not be.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Our friend VSK very similar. There was a period where
- 32:35Speaker 1: he was eating a pint of ice cream every night,
- 32:38Speaker 1: called it the Tonynes diet.
- 32:39Speaker 2: So yeah, but.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Hey listen, hey do four to fifty fit and I
- 32:43Speaker 3: can get you to that point.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Anthony Lanigan, I've been eating low carb slash Keto since
- 32:53Speaker 1: last November to help lower my A one C and
- 32:57Speaker 1: it's helped a lot and almost back to pre diabetic.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I was at thirteen point nine and now I'm down
- 33:03Speaker 1: to seven point one. But I still haven't really dropped
- 33:06Speaker 1: much weight by doing this. Any tips or tricks to
- 33:08Speaker 1: help me to start dropping pounds would be appreciated.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so I think part of it. So I'm not
- 33:15Speaker 3: huge fan of lowering of doing low carb diets I
- 33:20Speaker 3: so for me personally, I love carbs, and I think
- 33:22Speaker 3: carbs are very important, very vital. I understand when it's
- 33:26Speaker 3: a medical condition that you gotta do, you got to
- 33:28Speaker 3: follow different plans. I think that just because he started
- 33:32Speaker 3: following a plan is really why he started getting results,
- 33:35Speaker 3: because he was being consistent with something. Personally, I would
- 33:40Speaker 3: start looking into slowly increasing those carbs, because I think
- 33:43Speaker 3: if he slowly starts to increase those carbs, you know
- 33:46Speaker 3: to obviously monitor it so that you don't go in
- 33:50Speaker 3: the wrong direction. But the more he starts to increase
- 33:54Speaker 3: it and exercise regularly, he's probably going to start to
- 33:57Speaker 3: build more lean muscle that way, and that lean muscle
- 34:00Speaker 3: is gonna be what helps you burn that fat. A
- 34:03Speaker 3: lot of people think that they just like burning fat
- 34:06Speaker 3: and building muscle are two separate things. It's not necessarily, Uh,
- 34:10Speaker 3: if you do it properly, building lean muscles should burn fat.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 34:15Speaker 3: That's why I hate the whole uh. Like, I'm not
- 34:18Speaker 3: a big fan of bulking season or any of that stuff,
- 34:20Speaker 3: like the word bulk and stuff like that where they
- 34:22Speaker 3: just put on size and then like that to me,
- 34:24Speaker 3: that that if you just put on the right lean muscle.
- 34:27Speaker 3: You're gonna lean up, You're gonna burn that fat, because
- 34:29Speaker 3: lean muscle is what actually is like it's almost like
- 34:32Speaker 3: what makes the engine run in your metabolism. So the
- 34:35Speaker 3: more muscle you have, the bigger the engine, the more
- 34:37Speaker 3: fuel it's gonna burn that fuel being fat. So I
- 34:41Speaker 3: think he should slowly start to increase his carbs now
- 34:45Speaker 3: and kind of see how the body responds to that.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Great uh Mark vicsinach, not just for Tony but for
- 34:53Speaker 1: all you guys. How has your training evolved? What weight
- 34:57Speaker 1: were you guys, uh when you first started? And what
- 35:01Speaker 1: weight do you guys feel is best now for your body?
- 35:06Speaker 3: So does he mean probably weight we're lifting or weight
- 35:09Speaker 3: that we weigh?
- 35:10Speaker 2: Wait, I think I would assume.
- 35:12Speaker 1: I'm not really sure. I think that he the question
- 35:15Speaker 1: specifically was about our body weight.
- 35:16Speaker 4: I mean I literally I would say weight lifting. I
- 35:19Speaker 4: literally no longer do I even try to push this
- 35:22Speaker 4: stuff with.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say the older I got, the
- 35:27Speaker 3: wiser I got with Like the weight, the weight doesn't matter.
- 35:30Speaker 3: It's really quality, like time under tension, stuff like that
- 35:33Speaker 3: is way more important to the body.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I stopped trying to lift heavy four or five
- 35:38Speaker 4: years ago, Like I don't even it doesn't even come close.
- 35:42Speaker 1: But then a very different you know, me and Brian
- 35:45Speaker 1: were bigger, I guess than you guys were.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Dianner.
- 35:48Speaker 4: I'm scared of just getting injured, and I like, I
- 35:50Speaker 4: don't need to be like, oh I benched, you know,
- 35:52Speaker 4: three hundred pounds say, like I don't give a shit
- 35:54Speaker 4: about telling anyone in that or doing that. I just
- 35:56Speaker 4: and I don't think it's going to be beneficial to
- 35:58Speaker 4: me or my body at this at this stage of
- 36:00Speaker 4: my career.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the only thing I go heavy with now
- 36:04Speaker 3: is my legs, but that's more of like a it's
- 36:08Speaker 3: just like I get like a high from lift and
- 36:10Speaker 3: heavy from my legs, if that makes sense, Like it's
- 36:12Speaker 3: just my favorite, that's my favorite thing to do. But
- 36:14Speaker 3: other than that, like, yeah, I don't I don't go
- 36:17Speaker 3: super heavy on shoulder, like my upper body, anything that
- 36:20Speaker 3: involves my shoulder joints, I can't go heavy with. So yeah,
- 36:26Speaker 3: and then as for body weight, if you were talking,
- 36:28Speaker 3: if that's what the question was, Uh, when I joined
- 36:31Speaker 3: a wrestling school, I was maybe one hundred and forty pounds,
- 36:36Speaker 3: so can wet like I was tiny, tiny, so when
- 36:39Speaker 3: I started putting on size, I'd say, when I started
- 36:41Speaker 3: really putting on good size where it was really noticeable,
- 36:44Speaker 3: I was about one seventy one seventy five and then,
- 36:48Speaker 3: uh and now I hover in the one nineties, around
- 36:51Speaker 3: one ninety five. The biggest I've been was about two
- 36:54Speaker 3: oh two or two oh three was the highest I
- 36:57Speaker 3: ever got. I'm short, too, so anytime I tell my weight,
- 37:00Speaker 3: everyone's like, oh man, you should be like two thirty
- 37:02Speaker 3: or whatever, but people forget how short I am. But uh, yeah,
- 37:06Speaker 3: that's that's pretty much how my weight's fluctuated, and I
- 37:10Speaker 3: think that where I am now. So when I got
- 37:13Speaker 3: to that two three, that's when I was doing those
- 37:14Speaker 3: high calories again. I didn't like it. I thought that's
- 37:17Speaker 3: where I wanted to be, but then when I got there,
- 37:19Speaker 3: I was bloated. I wasn't happy with it. So then
- 37:22Speaker 3: I brought myself back down to like one ninety five,
- 37:24Speaker 3: and that seems to be my sweet spot.
- 37:26Speaker 7: And you maybe you'll agree with me, Tony, maybe you won't,
- 37:29Speaker 7: but hopefully you do.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Is that I think a lot of us, and myself
- 37:32Speaker 5: include I've been there, are too focused on the number
- 37:35Speaker 5: on the scale. So for instance, I wanted to get
- 37:38Speaker 5: to two thirty a couple of years ago, and that's
- 37:41Speaker 5: all I cared about was getting that that number. And
- 37:43Speaker 5: then I got there. I looked in the mirror. I
- 37:45Speaker 5: look like absolute dog shit. You know you can google,
- 37:48Speaker 5: just google Zach Ryder fat.
- 37:50Speaker 1: That's my favorite thing that we bring on.
- 37:52Speaker 5: I don't have to google. I keep it on my phone. Yeah,
- 37:55Speaker 5: and it's a horrible photo. It's like mid overseas tour.
- 37:58Speaker 5: So I'm pale at on my tan. I'm pulling up
- 38:00Speaker 5: my trunks and there's a rope like right at my
- 38:04Speaker 5: like nipples.
- 38:04Speaker 7: So let's I have no definition. It's a horrible photo.
- 38:07Speaker 5: But I think a lot of us are too, you know,
- 38:10Speaker 5: we're too focused on that number on the scale and
- 38:12Speaker 5: not how we feel, not how we look. I think
- 38:15Speaker 5: we should you know, the scale listen, it's great. We
- 38:18Speaker 5: need it to sometimes. It's very, very important. But we
- 38:20Speaker 5: shouldn't be so focused on that number, you know, especially
- 38:23Speaker 5: if you're losing weight, like Tony said, you're gonna be
- 38:26Speaker 5: gaining muscle at the same time, so you might not
- 38:27Speaker 5: necessarily be losing weight according.
- 38:29Speaker 7: To the scale.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, a muscle mass. Absolutely, I'll have. You know,
- 38:34Speaker 3: that'll happen a lot towards like a certain point with
- 38:37Speaker 3: my weight loss clients.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Horrible Brian talk so we could see it. Sorry, that's gone.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Here's biski. Oh yeah, well one of my all time favorites.
- 38:58Speaker 2: That's a horrible pick.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll you'll run into that all the time with
- 39:03Speaker 3: like weight loss clients where they'll start to you know,
- 39:05Speaker 3: they'll always lose pretty quickly because one they'll body their
- 39:08Speaker 3: body will what is that.
- 39:12Speaker 2: The same error? Yeah?
- 39:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so yeah, so uh so a lot of
- 39:22Speaker 3: my weightless clients will run into that way. They'll they'll
- 39:25Speaker 3: they'll lose a lot and then they'll start to level
- 39:26Speaker 3: off and they get frustrated, and I'm like, no, you
- 39:29Speaker 3: don't understand, Like, like, the fact that you're not gaining
- 39:32Speaker 3: weight is actually a big deal because your body's responding
- 39:35Speaker 3: now it knows how to build muscle again, so we're
- 39:37Speaker 3: building muscle, so we're actually putting on lean mass while
- 39:41Speaker 3: you're burning the fat. So the fact that the weight's
- 39:43Speaker 3: not moving is actually a good sign. So yeah, exactly,
- 39:45Speaker 3: like everyone's always so fixated. I was the same when
- 39:48Speaker 3: I was trying to put on that weight. I just
- 39:50Speaker 3: cared about. I would just every week was checked the scale,
- 39:52Speaker 3: check the scale, because that's what I was trying to do.
- 39:54Speaker 3: I wanted to be over I never I was never
- 39:56Speaker 3: over two hundred. I always wanted to be over two hundred.
- 39:59Speaker 3: And once I got there, I was exactly the same.
- 40:01Speaker 3: I was like, I saw a photo of myself and
- 40:03Speaker 3: I understand, like we're all bigger critics, and I'm sure
- 40:07Speaker 3: people were telling me, like, oh shut up, you idiot,
- 40:08Speaker 3: but like I thought I looked fat. I didn't like
- 40:11Speaker 3: how I looked. I bloated, you know, like I always
- 40:14Speaker 3: like being able to kind of keep my my mid
- 40:17Speaker 3: section in and tight, and like I couldn't because I
- 40:19Speaker 3: just had so much food in my belly. That was
- 40:21Speaker 3: always like I had like that where the abs were
- 40:23Speaker 3: pushing out, so uh so, yeah, I didn't like it.
- 40:26Speaker 3: And that's when I immediately stopped and brought myself back
- 40:28Speaker 3: down to one. And like when I'm one and when
- 40:30Speaker 3: I was like two o three, I looked two o
- 40:32Speaker 3: three when I'm like one ninety five, but on camera,
- 40:36Speaker 3: I looked like two twenty. So I'd rather do that
- 40:39Speaker 3: for sure.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Were you guys concerned at all? Every week when you
- 40:42Speaker 1: waded in for the for two five Live when when
- 40:44Speaker 1: they weighed in the entire roster did last long. Well,
- 40:48Speaker 1: so did that ever happen? I was just kidding.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, no, no, no.
- 40:51Speaker 2: So definitely happened initially, So we did.
- 40:53Speaker 3: We did shoot way in for the tournament. Uh, and
- 40:56Speaker 3: then we did and then when they brought but for
- 41:00Speaker 3: some reason, when they brought Buddy Murphy in, they wait,
- 41:03Speaker 3: they made him way and then I don't know if
- 41:05Speaker 3: this was a rib to him, but they made him
- 41:07Speaker 3: way every week and they shoot told him you're not
- 41:10Speaker 3: allowed to wrestle on the show. Like they'd book him
- 41:12Speaker 3: every week. He was like the champion.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah, every week.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Every week they'd make him way in and be like,
- 41:17Speaker 3: if you're not under two o five, you're not wrestling
- 41:20Speaker 3: on the show.
- 41:20Speaker 2: So I guess he was he hovering right there, I
- 41:22Speaker 2: guess then.
- 41:23Speaker 3: So he would he got himself pretty lean, He got
- 41:27Speaker 3: himself to like he would be at like two hundred
- 41:29Speaker 3: at times and stuff like that. But uh, it's funny though,
- 41:31Speaker 3: because he would he was taking it to heart and
- 41:33Speaker 3: like every week he'd be like every Monday he would
- 41:36Speaker 3: be like his last time eating and then what was Yeah,
- 41:38Speaker 3: because we would do the shows on Tuesdays, so like
- 41:41Speaker 3: he'd like stop eating on Monday and then wouldn't eat
- 41:43Speaker 3: all day Tuesday, and he'd just be like dying the
- 41:45Speaker 3: whole day. And everything was so funny.
- 41:49Speaker 2: It's terrible.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Mark. If you listen to music while trading, what songs
- 41:56Speaker 1: get you fired up? That's a good one.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Oh okay, damn.
- 42:01Speaker 3: So for me, so what was this? What's what music
- 42:03Speaker 3: do I listen to?
- 42:04Speaker 1: And yes, what are your favors?
- 42:05Speaker 3: So for me, I like I love hardcore and stuff
- 42:09Speaker 3: like that, so and like metal and stuff, so like
- 42:11Speaker 3: if I'm going to old school, I'll always listen to
- 42:13Speaker 3: like Pantera, Metallica, New School I listened to like every time,
- 42:19Speaker 3: every yeah, every time I die, and uh, like I
- 42:23Speaker 3: love a tray you and I just love all different bands.
- 42:26Speaker 3: If it's if it's hard, I like to listen to it.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Uh and then every once in a while I'll throw
- 42:30Speaker 3: it in the random like eighties pop and stuff like that.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Oh of course, yeah, yeah, I have this weird thing.
- 42:36Speaker 4: I'll listen to anything when I work out, but I'm
- 42:38Speaker 4: feeling uninspired or unmotivated, I listened to wrestling songs, so
- 42:42Speaker 4: like being so it's like, why why am I doing
- 42:44Speaker 4: this in the first place.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's kind of a weird I did that.
- 42:48Speaker 3: So so that was like, Yeah, when I was like
- 42:51Speaker 3: aspiring to be a wrestler, that's like, yeah, everything was
- 42:55Speaker 3: always wrestling and I'd listen to entrance music. Yeah, as
- 42:57Speaker 3: soon as I became a wrestler, I was like, I
- 42:59Speaker 3: don't give a shit.
- 43:03Speaker 1: I've worked at the Myers, worked out of the Meyers
- 43:05Speaker 1: gym like ten times, and we've always listened to the
- 43:08Speaker 1: e c W playlist.
- 43:09Speaker 4: So well, yeah, that's what I don't even It's all
- 43:15Speaker 4: real awesome songs. Yeah, but is it?
- 43:17Speaker 3: But is it the Jack Sabbath versions or the real versions?
- 43:20Speaker 1: No, it's just like Spotify a playlist. It's great e
- 43:24Speaker 1: c W themes on Spotiday. It's phenomenal. Yea puts it
- 43:27Speaker 1: in a great order.
- 43:27Speaker 4: To I heard Brosky's radio off off Spotify.
- 43:31Speaker 7: Huh Yeah, who told you about that?
- 43:33Speaker 2: Some one made a post or something.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Yeah, they you know, they took it off.
- 43:37Speaker 7: They pulled me.
- 43:38Speaker 5: It wasn't just you're blacklist like it's it's the Downstate
- 43:43Speaker 5: one is what got pulled. They they pulled, They pulled
- 43:46Speaker 5: a lot of songs from there, so you might want
- 43:48Speaker 5: to check your song too.
- 43:49Speaker 7: But it was ever on there.
- 43:50Speaker 1: You know, why why did they pull the songs?
- 43:53Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 43:54Speaker 1: That's insane.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Okay, pulled me from the they pulled me from the
- 43:57Speaker 3: video game. I was supposed to be in the video
- 43:58Speaker 3: game and they pulled it. Oh yeahn but that was
- 44:01Speaker 3: because I got signed and I own Tony Nice, so
- 44:06Speaker 3: they couldn't you know what I'm saying. Like, if it
- 44:08Speaker 3: was like a name under the WWE, then they probably
- 44:11Speaker 3: would have kept it. But yeah, because it was Tony
- 44:14Speaker 3: Nice and now I was under contract with AW I
- 44:17Speaker 3: think that they had to pull it or they were
- 44:19Speaker 3: just like, we're not going to put that out.
- 44:20Speaker 7: Got it? Got it?
- 44:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 44:23Speaker 1: So ah production says I'm about to restart my weight
- 44:27Speaker 1: loss journey is one and was wondering is it better
- 44:30Speaker 1: to lose the weight first and then tone up or
- 44:32Speaker 1: is it better to do both at the same time
- 44:35Speaker 1: or is there no difference?
- 44:36Speaker 3: So yeah, no difference. So that's the thing that like
- 44:39Speaker 3: everyone that I was saying before is like everyone thinks
- 44:42Speaker 3: that it's two separate things. The best possible way is
- 44:46Speaker 3: to build lean. If you build lean, muscle properly and
- 44:49Speaker 3: you're eating right, then you're you're gonna burn the fat.
- 44:53Speaker 3: It's gonna happen if you're doing it the proper way.
