Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Mr.
- 0:00Speaker 2: New York, Mark Simone on WOR.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Oh, I'm on the air. Sorry, out in the hallway.
- 0:20Speaker 3: We have advertisers, clients, you know. The one I love
- 0:24Speaker 3: is P.C. Richards, my favorite place. P.C. Richards people outside.
- 0:28Speaker 3: It's a great store. Do you know, we were just
- 0:31Speaker 3: talking about this, there is such a thing as a
- 0:35Speaker 3: washer-dryer unit. I don't mean a dryer on top of
- 0:39Speaker 3: the washing machine. I mean it's all one thing. There's
- 0:43Speaker 3: one unit that will do the wash, and then it'll dry,
- 0:46Speaker 3: all in the same unit. They're selling these now. It's
- 0:50Speaker 3: a great, great thing. So you throw in the laundry.
- 0:54Speaker 3: You set it to wash and dry. You can go
- 0:57Speaker 3: away for two hours. You come back, it washes it.
- 0:59Speaker 3: And then when it's done washing it, it dries it
- 1:01Speaker 3: all in the same unit. PC Richards, perfect place to
- 1:04Speaker 3: get it. But this is going to be the future.
- 1:07Speaker 3: These are going to be all over the place pretty soon. Hey,
- 1:10Speaker 3: that crazy Macklemore, you know, Ed Sheeran on tour. Why
- 1:14Speaker 3: the hell? Ed Sheeran's the nicest, most neutral, nice guy
- 1:18Speaker 3: in the world. What the hell would he have Macklemore,
- 1:21Speaker 3: who's nothing but trouble, If you're looking for trouble, make
- 1:25Speaker 3: Macklemore your opening act. So they had to drop him
- 1:29Speaker 3: from the tour. All hell broke loose. Everybody's mad at everybody.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Certain radio stations banning Ed Sheeran, which is ridiculous. But
- 1:39Speaker 3: Macklemore has just announced he's going on tour himself. He
- 1:44Speaker 3: got so much attention for this. You know, he'd been
- 1:46Speaker 3: much bigger years ago. Then his career kind of died down.
- 1:50Speaker 3: But all this attention. could bring him back in audience.
- 1:54Speaker 3: But he's now announced his tour. It's a free Palestine tour.
- 2:00Speaker 3: A free Palestine music tour. Dates have not been set yet.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And no announcement on who's going to be with him.
- 2:11Speaker 3: But he says, this guy's a real blank, blank. He says,
- 2:15Speaker 3: there's been a collective awakening around Palestinian liberation. This is
- 2:21Speaker 3: just a bunch of anti-Semites who've risen up. The power
- 2:25Speaker 3: of billionaires to try to censor us. What we expect
- 2:30Speaker 3: from artists right now is to stand up to this.
- 2:32Speaker 3: It's 2026. Being apolitical during a genocide doesn't work anymore. Well,
- 2:39Speaker 3: you know, listen, Hamas launched the most disgusting Holocaust in
- 2:42Speaker 3: modern times on October 7th. We didn't hear a peep
- 2:45Speaker 3: out of you. Then a genocide in Africa against Christians.
- 2:49Speaker 3: We didn't hear a peep out of you. Iran just
- 2:53Speaker 3: slaughtered 40,000 citizens in the street, just killed them for protesting.
- 2:58Speaker 3: We didn't hear anything from you. But when it's something
- 3:02Speaker 3: that they can bring their anti-Semitism to, I don't know,
- 3:08Speaker 3: I guess there's always been a little anti-Semitism in the world,
- 3:11Speaker 3: but I don't know what this is with the left
- 3:14Speaker 3: embracing this anti-Semitism. loving this anti-Semitism. And whoever thought he
- 3:23Speaker 3: had ever lived to see a time where that kind
- 3:26Speaker 3: of bigotry would be something you'd brag about if you
- 3:28Speaker 3: were a candidate. We've got a mayor of New York
- 3:30Speaker 3: who's an open anti-Semite who will out and out engage
- 3:34Speaker 3: in hate speech. It's unbelievable. And it's going to take
- 3:39Speaker 3: down the normal Democratic Party in the process. You know,
- 3:43Speaker 3: the problem is when you start that Hate speech, anti-Semitism,
- 3:46Speaker 3: when you start that kind of bigotry, it spreads. You know,
- 3:49Speaker 3: right now it's anti-Israel, anti-Jews. Next thing you know, it'll
- 3:54Speaker 3: be anti-Christians. It spreads. You got to stop it here.
- 3:58Speaker 3: What's going to stamp it out? I don't know.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Common sense, decency at some point will stop it. You
- 4:06Speaker 3: got to blame, really blame Democratic leaders like Schumer and
- 4:10Speaker 3: Hakeem Jeffries. Schumer is the leader of the party. Hakeem
- 4:13Speaker 3: Jeffries is the leader. Hochul's the leader in the state.
- 4:18Speaker 3: You got to blame them. They're the ones that have
- 4:21Speaker 3: to stop it. It's in their own party. It's taking
- 4:24Speaker 3: place in their own world, and they've done nothing to
- 4:26Speaker 3: stop it. Schumer. Remember all that anti-Semitism at Columbia and
- 4:32Speaker 3: the Jewish students getting harassed, physically harassed? Remember all that?
- 4:35Speaker 3: Schumer went and hid. Nobody heard from him during that period.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Mamdani yelling his anti-Semitism, ginning it up. Never heard from Schumer.
- 4:44Speaker 3: He's the leader of the Democratic Party. He's the highest
- 4:47Speaker 3: ranking Jewish politician. Never heard from him on it. Disgusting,
- 4:53Speaker 3: disgusting behavior from Chuck Schumer. So unfortunately, I'm looking now,
- 5:00Speaker 3: the press ban at the White House has been totally lifted.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Access to all the press has been restored. Yeah, that's
- 5:09Speaker 3: too bad. It was fun keeping them out and it
- 5:11Speaker 3: gave them something to talk about. You know, for all
- 5:16Speaker 3: these MS Now and CNN types, all they do all
- 5:19Speaker 3: day is tell you how much they hate Donald Trump,
- 5:22Speaker 3: how repulsed they are by Donald Trump, burning hatred for
- 5:28Speaker 3: Donald Trump. But then they're mad they can't be in
- 5:29Speaker 3: the room with him. Generally, if I hate somebody, I
- 5:33Speaker 3: don't stay in the same room with them. I don't
- 5:35Speaker 3: want access to them. In fact, I can't get far
- 5:38Speaker 3: enough away from them. So President Trump spending the day,
- 5:41Speaker 3: the second day, he's spending the whole day with President
- 5:45Speaker 3: Xi of China and Xi's wife, Madam Ping, who looks
- 5:51Speaker 3: like a lot of fun. Look at her. Look at
- 5:53Speaker 3: her on the screen. Look at these two. We hope
- 5:58Speaker 3: they don't die, but if they were to die, it's
- 6:00Speaker 3: easy on the funeral. I don't think you have to
- 6:01Speaker 3: embalm them. Look at them. They already look like they're embalmed.
- 6:04Speaker 3: But I don't know what the hell they talk to
- 6:06Speaker 3: them about all day. President once again wearing an overcoat.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Wow.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's definitely not. I was out last night. I
- 6:15Speaker 3: saw a lot of overcoats everywhere. Summer ended fast. Netanyahu,
- 6:21Speaker 3: great speech yesterday, concluded with a real warning for Iran,
- 6:25Speaker 3: a real warning for Iran that it's over for them.
- 6:28Speaker 3: The leadership of Iran, the citizens, everybody else will rise
- 6:32Speaker 3: up and take over. Hey, those people that walked out,
- 6:36Speaker 3: let me play, I'm playing it every hour. Let me
- 6:38Speaker 3: play this clip. As soon as Netanyahu got up to speak,
- 6:42Speaker 3: he hadn't said a word yet. Just as he stood
- 6:45Speaker 3: at the podium, half the delegates walked out. I'm looking
- 6:48Speaker 3: at the list here. Who walked out? It was the
- 6:51Speaker 3: representatives for Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Palestinian Authority, and others,
- 6:58Speaker 3: other countries. They cleared out. They literally, he hadn't said
- 7:01Speaker 3: a word yet. As soon as he got up, they
- 7:05Speaker 3: walked out. But, you know, he pointed out all these
- 7:08Speaker 3: things that it was Israel that supplied 2 million tons
- 7:13Speaker 3: of food into Gaza. He ran down the list of
- 7:16Speaker 3: the great things Israel has done. But they walked out.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Netanyahu responded perfectly.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Mr.
- 7:21Speaker 5: President, before I begin, just a quick announcement. If there
- 7:29Speaker 5: are any other moral cowards who haven't yet left this hall,
- 7:34Speaker 5: please do so now. Thank you very much.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's a great leader and an orator. If
- 7:43Speaker 3: you have not done so, please do so. See, now
- 7:46Speaker 3: if it was Trump, he'd say, for those of you
- 7:47Speaker 3: who haven't, get the blank out. Right in the U.N.
- 7:51Speaker 3: General Assembly. I know you're not supposed to do that,
- 7:54Speaker 3: but he's half a Howard Stern president. And that's the
- 7:59Speaker 3: way he does things. Now, speaking of this anti-Semitism, our crazy,
- 8:03Speaker 3: nutty Mayor Mamdani, Mr. Anti-Semite, and his allies are holding
- 8:07Speaker 3: a big New York City fundraiser for the Michigan anti-Semite,
- 8:13Speaker 3: Abdul Al-Sayed. The bash will take place on the Bowery
- 8:18Speaker 3: on October 5th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Co-hosts
- 8:25Speaker 3: include the jeweler Alex Bittar, Former REM frontman Michael Stipe.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Democrat Brad Lander. These are all the anti-Semites that are
- 8:36Speaker 3: all coming to this. Congressman Jamal Bowman. Brooklyn Councilman Shi Asi.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Contributors can donate up to $ 57, 000 to the Abdul Michigan
- 8:49Speaker 3: Victory Fund. It's $ 57, 000. You can donate to the anti-Semitic
- 8:55Speaker 3: fund here. Now, I guess there might be some Democrats
- 8:58Speaker 3: who are pushing for this Abdul Syed just because it's
- 9:02Speaker 3: a crucial seat for the Democrats to take control of
- 9:07Speaker 3: the Senate. Michigan is key to that. They've got to
- 9:09Speaker 3: win Michigan to take control of the Senate. So there
- 9:11Speaker 3: might be some Democrats who are jumping in because of that.
- 9:15Speaker 3: But I don't care what the reason is. You can't
- 9:17Speaker 3: support anti-Semites. There's no excuse for that. You remember that
- 9:22Speaker 3: story about Thomas Jefferson? He slept with the slaves. In fact,
- 9:26Speaker 3: there was one slave, Sally Hemings. Not only did he
- 9:29Speaker 3: sleep with her, he fathered a child with her. This
- 9:32Speaker 3: has been the rumor for years and years and years.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Historians have felt that this is what happened. Well, it's
- 9:40Speaker 3: been absolutely confirmed now. In one of the books, Jefferson
- 9:46Speaker 3: had books he would write in journals, diaries. Apparently, in
- 9:51Speaker 3: one of the books, some of Jefferson's hair was found
- 9:54Speaker 3: between the pages. and they had Jefferson's hair, which even
- 9:57Speaker 3: though it's hundreds of years old, you can still DNA test.
- 10:01Speaker 3: So they DNA tested it. And it proves he did
- 10:05Speaker 3: have children with the slave Sally Hemings. And it's, of course,
- 10:12Speaker 3: years later, but we've absolutely confirmed it now. had this,
- 10:16Speaker 3: you know, unfortunately, they're all long gone. If she were
- 10:19Speaker 3: around today, Sally Hemings would be, she'd be on Rachel
- 10:22Speaker 3: Maddow Monday night, exclusive interview. She'd be on CNN. The
- 10:26Speaker 3: New York Times would be interviewing her. So, hey, McDonald's,
- 10:33Speaker 3: I don't know if this is smart. McDonald's, how big
- 10:37Speaker 3: is McDonald's? It's as big as can be. But they're
- 10:40Speaker 3: worried about Starbucks. And they're worried about Chipotle. So McDonald's
- 10:45Speaker 3: is adding things to the menu to take on Starbucks
- 10:50Speaker 3: and Chipotle. First of all, does anybody like the food
- 10:52Speaker 3: at Starbucks? You do? No, it's not that good. It's not...
- 11:03Speaker 3: Cheese and fruit doesn't count. They just cut that up.
- 11:05Speaker 3: They don't make that. They go buy some cheese and
- 11:08Speaker 3: they put it and they throw some fruit in. That's not...
- 11:10Speaker 3: I don't mean... I'm talking about the things they make.
- 11:14Speaker 3: You know what's funny? Dunkin' Donuts, their coffee is better
- 11:22Speaker 3: than Starbucks. But Starbucks, the donuts are probably better than Dunkin' Donuts.
- 11:26Speaker 3: It doesn't make any sense. But they're really worried about
- 11:30Speaker 3: Starbucks for some reason. So, you know, the one thing
- 11:32Speaker 3: they have at Starbucks is those little egg bites in
- 11:34Speaker 3: the morning. McDonald's has the greatest breakfast on earth, the
- 11:38Speaker 3: Egg McMuffin. But apparently this is one of the reasons
- 11:42Speaker 3: for this. Ozempic is so big. Those GLP-1 shots are
- 11:47Speaker 3: so big. 30 million Americans are on that stuff. And
- 11:51Speaker 3: when you're on those Ozempic things, you can't eat much.
- 11:54Speaker 3: You can only eat a little. So apparently Starbucks is
- 11:57Speaker 3: doing very well with the little egg bite because it's
- 12:00Speaker 3: like two bites. So if you're on Ozempic, it's a
- 12:02Speaker 3: perfect breakfast because you can't eat the egg muffin. You
- 12:05Speaker 3: can eat two bites. You got to throw away the
- 12:07Speaker 3: whole thing. So McDonald's is going to make an egg
- 12:10Speaker 3: bite just like Starbucks. All right. Okay, this one I
- 12:15Speaker 3: could see. But they also want to take on Chipotle.
- 12:21Speaker 3: And Chipotle's got the best. The burrito bowl is phenomenal. Apparently,
- 12:28Speaker 3: Chipotle's considered very healthy fast food, healthier than McDonald's. And
- 12:33Speaker 3: it's becoming bigger than ever, Chipotle. So they're going to
- 12:36Speaker 3: make their own. Something, burrito bowl. They haven't said exactly what.
- 12:42Speaker 3: But when you go to McDonald's, do you think Mexicans, Spanish,
- 12:46Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know. You may be in
- 12:51Speaker 3: a tricky area there, McDonald's. They're also going to add
- 12:54Speaker 3: a classic grilled chicken sandwich. All right, that's taking on Chick-fil-A.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Chick-fil-A is phenomenal. Also, they're going to make wraps for
- 13:06Speaker 3: another on-the-go meal. protein packed item you know a lot
- 13:10Speaker 3: of places those salad places uh chopped and all the
- 13:12Speaker 3: rest that's their big thing selling those wraps and that
- 13:15Speaker 3: kind of stuff it's considered healthier than mcdonald's so that's
- 13:19Speaker 3: one reason mcdonald's getting into it so they'll have healthier
- 13:22Speaker 3: items but it's also trying to compete with all the
- 13:25Speaker 3: fast food chains that have risen up and become very
- 13:28Speaker 3: big but but in the business world that's sometimes the
- 13:32Speaker 3: most dangerous thing you can do is try to be
- 13:35Speaker 3: somebody else The smartest thing you can do is just
- 13:37Speaker 3: do what you do best. And you remember when Steve,
- 13:42Speaker 3: you know, Apple was a mess when Steve Jobs came back.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Apple wasn't doing well. And he noticed the problem was
- 13:52Speaker 3: they sold 85 different products. And the first thing he
- 13:56Speaker 3: said when he came in there, just do what we
- 13:58Speaker 3: do best. Let's get rid of 81 of these products.
- 14:01Speaker 3: We'll just sell four things. We'll just sell a computer,
- 14:03Speaker 3: a phone. The same thing with McDonald's. Just figure out
- 14:08Speaker 3: what you do best and just do that better than
- 14:11Speaker 3: anybody else. So, let's see. The press is back. The
- 14:17Speaker 3: White House ban is over. The press is back. Oh,
- 14:21Speaker 3: you're supposed to get all excited because today is the
- 14:24Speaker 3: 25th of September. And I don't know even what this means.
- 14:28Speaker 3: They're saying it's 9-2-5 day.
- 14:28Speaker 6: 9-2-5 day.
- 14:29Speaker 3: So I guess the song 9 to 5. If you're
- 14:36Speaker 3: getting excited about this, you really need to re-examine your life.
- 14:40Speaker 3: This is not that exciting. First of all, it's not
- 14:43Speaker 3: 9 to 5 day. It's 9 to 5 to 6 day.
- 14:47Speaker 3: And I don't remember any song called 9 to 5
- 14:50Speaker 3: to 6. We'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 14:54Speaker 7: 800-321-0710.
- 14:54Speaker 3: 0710. Mark Simone.
- 15:03Speaker 7: Mr.
- 15:03Speaker 3: New York.
- 15:04Speaker 8: Now three hours every weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Bob in Florida. Bob,
- 15:17Speaker 3: how you doing?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Hello, Mark.
- 15:20Speaker 7: Thank you for doing what you do. You know, it's
- 15:22Speaker 7: being widely not reported that the judge's order to return
- 15:27Speaker 7: those propaganda organizations to the White House is a temporary
- 15:32Speaker 7: restraining order. You can't find that in the news anywhere.
- 15:35Speaker 3: No, yeah, you can. Yeah, you can. That's how you know.
- 15:38Speaker 3: That's how you know that. No, I got it.
- 15:40Speaker 7: No, I got enough of X.
- 15:42Speaker 3: You tell me which. Oh, yeah. It's been said.
- 15:45Speaker 7: You tell me your source.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Well, that's a new source. Anyway, it's a 14-day restraining order.
- 15:50Speaker 3: What that actually means, whatever they presented on that day
- 15:54Speaker 3: in court, the judge felt they had enough of a
- 15:57Speaker 3: case that it needed to be heard. So there's a
- 15:59Speaker 3: 14-day restraining order until the next court date where they
- 16:03Speaker 3: can really lay out their case. They have some kind
- 16:06Speaker 3: of a case. They're going to try First Amendment. It's
- 16:08Speaker 3: not really a First Amendment issue because they're not being silenced.
- 16:12Speaker 3: They can go on the air and say whatever they want.
- 16:15Speaker 3: It's about access to certain rooms in the White House.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Let's go to Ed in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Ed, how are
- 16:22Speaker 3: you doing?
- 16:23Speaker 4: Hey, good morning, Mark.
- 16:24Speaker 9: Thanks for taking my call.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I hope you're well.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Back to the Jeffersons.
- 16:29Speaker 9: I was thinking back in 78, 79, I took a
- 16:32Speaker 9: job from Jefferson. And every year they made a big
- 16:36Speaker 9: hullabaloo about, I don't know if it was Jefferson's birthday,
- 16:38Speaker 9: down to Rich on the 4th of July. But the
- 16:40Speaker 9: African-American descendants of Jefferson birthday, the parade in Charlottesville. And
- 16:46Speaker 9: I know the big stink of that.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Ed, your phone is cracking up. Try us again. It's
- 16:51Speaker 3: not you. It's the phone line. Let's go to Jerry. Greenwich, Connecticut. Jerry,
- 16:55Speaker 3: how are you doing?
- 16:57Speaker 4: Very well. Thank you, Mark. Thank you for taking my call.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Great show.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Mark, there is three people that they killed. The main Goldberg,
- 17:07Speaker 4: the four guys. the woman that killed his kid, three kids,
- 17:12Speaker 4: and Manjone that killed this guy, they're still around. They
- 17:16Speaker 4: should have been put in electric, and they're still around,
- 17:18Speaker 4: and they're wasting a lot of money from the tax money,
- 17:21Speaker 4: taxpayer money. Why do they do that? The law is,
- 17:25Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I know, you're living in a crazy era where criminals
- 17:29Speaker 3: are let loose, the victims get locked up, the Kathy Hochulman.
- 17:33Speaker 4: It's trying to get free.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Yeah, there's Kathy Hochul, Cuomo, no bail, no jail. It's
- 17:39Speaker 3: insane kind of stuff. Harvey Weinstein is the only guy
- 17:44Speaker 3: I have put in jail by Alvin Bragg. And Bragg
- 17:46Speaker 3: bragging about it with the press conference. He's so proud.
- 17:48Speaker 3: He put the criminals in jail, too. Let's go to
- 17:53Speaker 3: Richard in Bayshore. Richard, how are you doing?
- 17:58Speaker 9: Sally Hemings in Jefferson.
- 17:59Speaker 10: I want to tell you a little bit more.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yep.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Call us back. See, it's the bottom two lines. I
- 18:05Speaker 3: don't know what it is. Those bottom two lines, everybody
- 18:07Speaker 3: gets distorted. It's not you. It's our phone lines. Let's
- 18:11Speaker 3: go to Bill in Cranford. Bill, how are you doing?
- 18:15Speaker 6: Hey, Mark.
- 18:16Speaker 10: Blakeman, the only criticism they seem to have about Blakeman
- 18:20Speaker 10: for governor is the fact that he's got a good
- 18:23Speaker 10: relationship with Trump. But then as governor of New York,
- 18:27Speaker 10: to have a good relationship with the president of the
- 18:29Speaker 10: United States, it's not exactly a bad thing.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah, actually, you're right. That's a good response. Blakeman should
- 18:34Speaker 3: run ads saying she's got no relationship with Trump. Trump
- 18:37Speaker 3: loves me. I can get money for New York. I
- 18:39Speaker 3: can get all sorts of federal help for New York
- 18:41Speaker 3: whenever I need it. That's a good thing. You should
- 18:43Speaker 3: bring that up a lot. Yeah, he should respond to
- 18:47Speaker 3: those ads. She's got no relationship with Trump, can't get
- 18:50Speaker 3: anything for us. I can get the federal money, grants, aid,
- 18:55Speaker 3: everything we need. Good idea. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 18:59Speaker 3: how are you doing?
- 19:00Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. When I heard yesterday
- 19:03Speaker 1: that this crony judge lifted the ban, the press ban
- 19:08Speaker 1: on the fake news organizations, I told my girlfriend, I says...
- 19:12Speaker 1: Trump should just give them access to the broom closet
- 19:16Speaker 1: in the hallway in the White House. Mark, how could
- 19:19Speaker 1: you forget? Look on the calendar. Today's not only 9-2-5.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Today's Native American Day. It says it right on my calendar.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It's Native American Day.
- 19:32Speaker 3: What is Native American Day?
- 19:34Speaker 7: Right.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Mark, speaking of campaign contributions... A number of years ago,
- 19:43Speaker 1: in fact, I got the bee of my bonnet from
- 19:47Speaker 1: listening to your show. I called up a congressperson's, I'm
- 19:51Speaker 1: not going to mention their name, office that I had
- 19:55Speaker 1: a beef with. And when I called, I got some
- 19:58Speaker 1: secretary of firsts, and I said... Well, I want to
- 20:01Speaker 1: make a significant contribution.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Ah, see, that's the way to do it.
- 20:05Speaker 1: So, and then when I got the person in charge
- 20:08Speaker 1: of the money, then I let them know what it
- 20:12Speaker 1: was all about, the conversation. And none of it could
- 20:16Speaker 1: be traced because I used a burner phone. And before
- 20:20Speaker 1: I hung up, I said, by the way, two of
- 20:22Speaker 1: my friends right now are sitting in their car, not
- 20:25Speaker 1: very far from your office.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Vincent, you can't do that kind of stuff.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Well, I did it, Mark.
- 20:33Speaker 3: You're not supposed to do that.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Excuse me?
- 20:37Speaker 3: That's like when Vito showed up to see Tony Soprano
- 20:40Speaker 3: after hiding. He goes, my brother's over there watching. What
- 20:43Speaker 3: does that mean?
- 20:45Speaker 1: In the Sopranos when Tony Soprano's daughter's in the restaurant
- 20:51Speaker 1: and some other guy from one of the other.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Gangs said something disgusting to her.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Said something disgusting to her. She goes home and she's
- 20:59Speaker 1: talking to Tony's wife and Tony sees that she's sad
- 21:04Speaker 1: and everything and then the daughter tells Tony Soprano what happened,
- 21:10Speaker 1: and Tony goes in the room.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Well, you know the rest of the story. He beats
- 21:13Speaker 3: the guy up. He knocks his teeth out. It's awful. But, Vincent,
- 21:17Speaker 3: in real life, you're not supposed to do that.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Really?
- 21:21Speaker 3: No, look who I'm talking to. Look who I'm talking to. Well,
- 21:26Speaker 3: you know, you shouldn't do that. Maybe just a strongly
- 21:29Speaker 3: worded letter.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Well, what do I do?
- 21:32Speaker 3: Look who I'm talking to. Anyway, we got to a point.
- 21:37Speaker 3: All right, Vincent, try to behave.
- 21:39Speaker 7: Take care, Mark.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Try to behave. All right, thanks.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I will. I'll try.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Stay out of trouble. All right.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Best I can, Mark.
- 21:44Speaker 3: All right, thanks for calling. Well, when we come back, oh,
- 21:50Speaker 3: Jackie the Joke Man, Jackie Martling. You know, Rodney, remember Dangerfields,
- 21:55Speaker 3: Rodney Dangerfields Club? We're going to talk about that in
- 21:57Speaker 3: a moment. and other matters coming up on 710WOR. It's
- 22:02Speaker 3: the Mark Simone Show.
- 22:04Speaker 8: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Well, one of our favorite comedians, Jackie the Joke Man,
- 22:13Speaker 3: Jackie Martling. Hey, by the way, remember Dangerfield? It's a
- 22:16Speaker 3: great club, Dangerfield. It's back, and it's called Rodney's now.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Jackie Martling will be appearing there tomorrow night at 8 o'clock.
- 22:24Speaker 3: He'll be there tomorrow night. You know, Danny... where danger
- 22:27Speaker 3: fields was rodney's it's on first avenue uh next saturday
- 22:32Speaker 3: night uh october 3rd seven o'clock he'll be at the
- 22:36Speaker 3: brokerage belmore long island with rich harkaway uh you can
- 22:41Speaker 3: you want to take this personalized video go to cameo.com
- 22:45Speaker 3: slash jackie martling and everything's at his website jokeland.com jokeland.com
- 22:51Speaker 3: jackie martling how you doing.
- 22:54Speaker 6: Well, I'd say I was doing great, except I think
- 22:56Speaker 6: today might have been my last swim. It's a little
- 22:59Speaker 6: rough out there. It's a little crazy. I think we've
- 23:02Speaker 6: got a Nor'easter coming, and I think I've got to
- 23:04Speaker 6: say goodbye to the summer, which you know how much
- 23:07Speaker 6: that bothers me.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Yeah, he lives right on the beach. That's Long Island Sound.
- 23:11Speaker 3: It's not too cold in there?
- 23:13Speaker 6: No, it's still beautiful. I just hope the sound doesn't
- 23:16Speaker 6: come to visit my living room.
- 23:17Speaker 3: That's all. Oh, yeah. Long Island's supposed to get the
- 23:20Speaker 3: worst of it tomorrow.
- 23:22Speaker 6: Yeah, but it's been beautiful. It's been so nice out here,
- 23:24Speaker 6: and I love Indian summer. You know, it's just fantastic.
- 23:28Speaker 6: The water stays warm. You keep swimming, keep having fun,
- 23:32Speaker 6: you know.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Are we allowed to say Indian summer anymore? Is it
- 23:34Speaker 3: indigenous summer?
- 23:37Speaker 6: You know what? I don't know. I always thought it
- 23:39Speaker 6: was a really complimentary thing, but so many things I think,
- 23:42Speaker 6: you know, I always thought having a football team named
- 23:45Speaker 6: after you was complimentary, but what do I know?
- 23:49Speaker 3: Hey, you're going to be at Rodney's. That used to
- 23:51Speaker 3: be Dangerfields. You and I, everybody, we used to spend
- 23:54Speaker 3: a lot of time in Dangerfields.
- 23:58Speaker 6: Mark, it's exactly the same. The stage is the same.
- 24:02Speaker 6: It's in the same place. The small round tables were
- 24:06Speaker 6: all jammed in. It's just like walking into a time warp.
- 24:10Speaker 6: The only difference is Rodney isn't there and Big Fat
- 24:13Speaker 6: Bobby isn't at the door.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Bobby Campbell, the maitre d', all he would ever say
- 24:17Speaker 3: to anybody, how many are you? How many are you?
- 24:21Speaker 6: It was a great fun. I worked there a couple
- 24:25Speaker 6: months ago, and it was just fantastic. You know, the
- 24:28Speaker 6: people love it, and it just feels like you're back
- 24:30Speaker 6: 40 years. It's, you know, it's just a trip.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Yeah, Dangerfields was the best comedy club. Tony Bavacqua, the owner,
- 24:38Speaker 3: and right in the middle of a crowded room, Rodney
- 24:41Speaker 3: would walk into the room in his bathrobe. Do you
- 24:43Speaker 3: remember that?
- 24:44Speaker 6: Oh, God. I had nickel for every time I saw
- 24:47Speaker 6: him in the bathroom. Not only in his bathrobe, but
- 24:50Speaker 6: what was under it. You know. it was great fun
- 24:55Speaker 6: you know and I got my friend Rich Harkaway opening
- 24:57Speaker 6: for me tomorrow night and he's he brought a lot
- 25:00Speaker 6: of people in last time so I'm expecting a really
- 25:02Speaker 6: fun time I know it's supposed to be bad weather
- 25:04Speaker 6: but let's hope we beat.
- 25:05Speaker 3: It that's all yeah it's tomorrow night at Rodney's where
- 25:08Speaker 3: Dangerfield used to be hey remember in the old Dangerfield
- 25:09Speaker 3: days there were these unknown comics there that all became.
- 25:12Speaker 6: Huge stars it was you know you never knew who
- 25:16Speaker 6: you know one person could go into oblivion and the
- 25:20Speaker 6: next day the next person goes on Johnny Carson and
- 25:23Speaker 6: uh It was like a lottery. Nobody knew anything. Nobody
- 25:26Speaker 6: knew what was going to happen, you know.
- 25:28Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Well, so Howard Stern's down to one day a week.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Of course, you were a big part of that show
- 25:35Speaker 3: for years. What do you think he'll do the rest?
- 25:38Speaker 3: What does he do the rest of the week?
- 25:40Speaker 6: I don't know, but it looks like he's working as
- 25:42Speaker 6: little as I am. I don't know. You know, good
- 25:47Speaker 6: luck to him. Whatever happens is fine by me, you know.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Hey, by the way, Jackie wrote a great book. It's
- 25:53Speaker 3: called From Bow to Stern. People can still get that
- 25:56Speaker 3: right on Amazon or someplace?
- 25:58Speaker 6: Yeah, it actually sells every time. It's really funny. Every
- 26:01Speaker 6: time Howard does anything, and any kind of hiccup at all,
- 26:05Speaker 6: all of a sudden sales of my book go up
- 26:07Speaker 6: because so many people didn't even know it was available.
- 26:10Speaker 6: So then when they start searching... All of a sudden,
- 26:13Speaker 6: my book pops up, and they buy it.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So go buy it.
- 26:15Speaker 3: A lot of great stories in the book. It's called
- 26:18Speaker 3: From Bow to Stern. It's Jackie Martling's autobiography. Get it
- 26:22Speaker 3: on Amazon.
- 26:24Speaker 6: All right, so I've got a horrible joke for you.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 26:28Speaker 6: So the cavewoman yells to her husband, Muckluck, saber-toothed tiger
- 26:34Speaker 6: just ran into mother's cave. And her husband says, What
- 26:38Speaker 6: do I care what happens to a saber-toothed tiger? That's funny.
- 26:47Speaker 6: All right, so a guy goes for skydiving lessons. Skydiving lessons,
- 26:51Speaker 6: the instructor says, very simple. You leap out of the plane.
- 26:54Speaker 6: You pull the ripcord. Nothing happens. You pull the emergency cord.
- 26:57Speaker 6: That easy. Guy jumps out of the plane, completely forgets
- 27:00Speaker 6: what to do. He's got no idea what to do,
- 27:03Speaker 6: and he's zooming down, zoom, zooming down. All of a sudden,
- 27:06Speaker 6: he passes another guy coming up. And he says, hey, man,
- 27:12Speaker 6: you know anything about parachutes? And the other guy says, no.
- 27:15Speaker 6: Do you know how to light a gas stove?
- 27:21Speaker 3: I like that one.
- 27:23Speaker 6: That's so fun. Now, Adam Sandler, I was on the
- 27:28Speaker 6: set of.
- 27:31Speaker 6: What's it called? Grown Ups 3 the other day. I
- 27:33Speaker 6: did some background work just to go say hello to
- 27:35Speaker 6: the whole gang. And Adam Sandler told me a great joke.
- 27:40Speaker 6: Two old friends meet on the street and the first
- 27:43Speaker 6: old guy says, so how are you feeling? The second
- 27:47Speaker 6: guy says, in a word, good. In two words, not good.
- 27:56Speaker 6: How great is that? So where would you find a
- 27:58Speaker 6: turtle with no legs?
- 28:00Speaker 3: A turtle with no legs? No, where?
- 28:04Speaker 6: Right where you left them.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I never heard you choke up there for a second.
- 28:14Speaker 6: Whoa. Oh, no, I always get choked up.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Hey, Jackie Martin.
- 28:18Speaker 6: Angelo goes up to his neighbor and says, hey, Tony,
- 28:21Speaker 6: you like a woman with the biggest sloppy bazooms drooping
- 28:25Speaker 6: down so far? He says, no. He says, you like
- 28:27Speaker 6: a woman with a big, huge rear end? She looked
- 28:30Speaker 6: like a dump truck. I said, no. She's like a
- 28:32Speaker 6: woman with a big, thick mustache, and she smells like
- 28:36Speaker 6: garlic all the time. He says, of course not. He says,
- 28:40Speaker 6: then why are you fooling around with my wife?
- 28:46Speaker 3: Well, you're coughing a lot. Hey, Jackie Martling, have you
- 28:48Speaker 3: been to the new Carnegie Deli since it opened?
- 28:51Speaker 6: I have not, and I'm so upset because I know
- 28:53Speaker 6: Sheba Mason did a whole opening thing, and I wrote
- 28:56Speaker 6: to her and said, why didn't you have me over there?
- 28:58Speaker 6: You know, they used to have six different eight-by-tens of me,
- 29:02Speaker 6: like from every different walk of life over the decades.
- 29:06Speaker 6: And you know that they named, you know, they named
- 29:09Speaker 6: a sandwich after Hannah Youngman, they named a sandwich after
- 29:12Speaker 6: everybody else. And I used to say to the lady,
- 29:15Speaker 6: was it Sandy? Was that the woman or the guy?
- 29:17Speaker 3: The guy, the terrible guy. He's gone.
- 29:19Speaker 6: And I said to his wife, I said, you know,
- 29:22Speaker 6: everybody's got a sandwich named after them. Why won't you
- 29:25Speaker 6: name a sandwich after me? And she kept ignoring me.
- 29:28Speaker 6: And finally, I went up to her and I said,
- 29:30Speaker 6: all right, here you go. How about this? Jackie Martling's,
- 29:34Speaker 6: what am I, chopped liver? And she said, it's very funny.
- 29:39Speaker 6: And then she didn't put me in there. And then
- 29:41Speaker 6: they all got caught. But now it's opening, and it's
- 29:43Speaker 6: right next door, I suppose.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's where the stage was. It's Marion Harper and
- 29:48Speaker 3: Sari Harper. The owner's great. It's better than ever.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Oh, I can't wait.
- 29:53Speaker 3: They saved all the pictures. They're back up on the walls.
- 29:55Speaker 3: I think I saw your picture up there, too. It's
- 29:57Speaker 3: one of the pictures.
- 29:58Speaker 6: Oh, now that... You know, I'm a very shallow man,
- 30:01Speaker 6: and you just made my day. All right, so a
- 30:08Speaker 6: drunk stumbles into a confessional. The priest hears a grunt,
- 30:11Speaker 6: but then the priest doesn't hear anything, so he bangs
- 30:13Speaker 6: on the wall. The drunk says, forget it, buddy. There's
- 30:17Speaker 6: no paper in this one either. All right, so the
- 30:20Speaker 6: doctor says, my friend.
- 30:28Speaker 6: You have an incurable disease. There's nothing I can do.
- 30:32Speaker 6: The guy says, come on, doc. You got any advice
- 30:36Speaker 6: for me at all? The doctor says, take three mud
- 30:39Speaker 6: baths every day. The guy says, will that prolong my life?
- 30:43Speaker 6: He says, no. But it'll get you used to the dirt.
- 30:50Speaker 6: That's a little dark, but it's fun.
- 30:52Speaker 3: No, that's a good joke.
- 30:55Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 30:55Speaker 3: What is the deal, Mark?
- 30:58Speaker 6: What is the deal with sex nowadays?
- 31:00Speaker 3: You're asking me? I don't know.
- 31:03Speaker 6: Times have changed.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Nowadays, girls.
- 31:07Speaker 6: They don't want to cuddle. They just want to get
- 31:08Speaker 6: paid and get out of the car. That's a little bad.
- 31:17Speaker 7: No, that's good.
- 31:17Speaker 6: So fun.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Oh, he actually stopped. Hey, if I have to speak
- 31:23Speaker 3: somewhere and I got three or four jokes I want
- 31:25Speaker 3: to open with, I got to write them down. I
- 31:27Speaker 3: got to sneak a look. I can't remember. How the
- 31:29Speaker 3: hell do you remember an hour of a million jokes?
- 31:32Speaker 6: Well, because that's what I do. That's all I do.
- 31:36Speaker 6: You know, you do what you do. I do what
- 31:38Speaker 6: I do. You know, when a doctor's operating on somebody,
- 31:41Speaker 6: he doesn't have a textbook there saying, well, now take
- 31:44Speaker 6: out this and now take out, you know. If you
- 31:46Speaker 6: saw a doctor take out a textbook, you'd get up
- 31:49Speaker 6: and run out of the room, right?
- 31:51Speaker 3: That's a good point. Well, you do it every night
- 31:53Speaker 3: of your life.
- 31:56Speaker 6: Here's a question. I got a question for you. Your
- 31:58Speaker 6: wife is barking at the front door and your dog
- 32:02Speaker 6: is barking at the back door. Which one do you
- 32:04Speaker 6: let in? You let in the dog because he stops
- 32:11Speaker 6: barking after you let him in. As a single man,
- 32:17Speaker 6: you can laugh at that.
- 32:19Speaker 3: That's true. We're just about out of time, but I
- 32:20Speaker 3: just want to remind you, Jackie Martling, tomorrow night he's
- 32:24Speaker 3: appearing at Rodney's. That's the place that used to be Dangerfield.
- 32:28Speaker 3: It's on First Avenue. It's now called Rodney's. He'll be
- 32:31Speaker 3: there tomorrow night at 8 o'clock. Next Saturday night, a
- 32:35Speaker 3: week from tomorrow, He'll be at Brokerage, Belmore, Long Island.
- 32:41Speaker 3: And get his book. If you haven't read his book,
- 32:42Speaker 3: it's a great book. It's called From Bow to Stern.
- 32:46Speaker 3: It's on Amazon. And everything's at your website, right? Jokeland.com.
- 32:51Speaker 6: Everything's on Jokeland.com. And a lot of the boys at
- 32:54Speaker 6: Bayville Seafood, they're sad to see the summer go, but...
- 32:59Speaker 6: People keep eating shrimp and lobster. It doesn't matter if
- 33:01Speaker 6: it's a billion degrees or five below. Everybody's eating seafood.
- 33:06Speaker 6: So hello, boys at Bayville Seafood.
- 33:08Speaker 3: All right. Everybody go to Jackie's website, jokeland.com. Jackie Martling,
- 33:13Speaker 3: thanks for being with us.
- 33:15Speaker 6: I got one more.
- 33:16Speaker 3: All right. Go ahead.
- 33:17Speaker 6: So a guy says, Doc, I'm having trouble with my
- 33:19Speaker 6: love life. The doctor exams me and says, well, it
- 33:23Speaker 6: seems you're having some problems because you need some work
- 33:25Speaker 6: done to bring back your sex drive. I can do
- 33:28Speaker 6: a series of operations that will take 30 days and
- 33:30Speaker 6: cost $ 12, 000. Or I can do one operation and you'll
- 33:35Speaker 6: be good to go the next day, but that's $ 30, 000.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Why don't you go home and discuss it with your wife?
- 33:40Speaker 6: So the next day the guy comes back to the
- 33:42Speaker 6: doctor and the doctor says, what did you decide? He says,
- 33:45Speaker 6: we're going to redo the kitchen.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Jackie Marling.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Thanks for being with us. Take care.
- 33:54Speaker 6: All right. Thank you, buddy. Bye-bye.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Thanks. Just go to his website, Jokeland.com. Hey, we're just
- 34:01Speaker 3: coming up at noon. Buck Sexton and Clay Travis. Listen today.
- 34:05Speaker 3: It's Mike Mamone's final day. Oh, he's a legendary engineer.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Does that show. Did Rush for years. They'll talk about
- 34:11Speaker 3: it on the show. Noon to three. Then at three o'clock,
- 34:14Speaker 3: you've got the most listened to radio show in America,
- 34:17Speaker 3: Sean Hannity. And don't forget Curtis. Sliwa, Larry Menti, every morning,
- 34:22Speaker 3: 6 to 9 on 710WOR. More Mark. Mark Simone. Mr.
- 34:28Speaker 8: New York. Now three hours every weekday from 9 till
- 34:32Speaker 8: noon on 710WOR.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Well, we're out of time, thank God. I mean, unfortunately,
- 34:37Speaker 3: we're out of time, but I'll be back Monday every weekday,
- 34:40Speaker 3: 9 to noon. Have a great weekend. See you Monday
- 34:44Speaker 3: on 710WOR.
