- 0:01Here's your host, Alex Garrett here on the Alex Here Podcast Network. I
- 0:10ask one question tonight, one question tonight. When two governments, yes not
- 0:19just one, but two governments fail a family in America, what's the next
- 0:29option? Well, I have some good news for you because if you heard
- 0:37last week of the kidnapping of one Maria del Carmen Lopez, there's a tech
- 0:45firm that has stepped up, stepped up on behalf of the family of Carmen
- 0:52and that community, that platform is called Community X Community X, which is
- 0:59now created Justice for Carmen. You might have seen this on CNN, CBS
- 1:03News, ABC News, NBC News, Fox News, But I guess the
- 1:07conversation died because unfortunately, both the American and Mexican governments have failed the family
- 1:15and have failed Maria do Carmen Lopez. If you don't know the story,
- 1:21on February ninth, twenty twenty three, a group of men in a van
- 1:26pulled up to the home of Carmen and kidnapped her. After the first call
- 1:33to the family on February tenth, twenty twenty three, to demand a ransom,
- 1:38the kidnappers continue to talk with the family until all communications stopped. The
- 1:46family has not heard from their mom. Since both the Mexican and American governments
- 1:53have a volleying responsibility to one another, the US government directed the FBI toy
- 2:00to the investigation. The FBI has been involved, but the Mexican government has
- 2:07jurisdiction over the case. Because this kidnapping happened in Pablo Pueblo named Nuevo Mexico,
- 2:17there's no pressure from the American government right now in the family worries Carmen
- 2:22might not be found in time. Elisbon Lopez, the daughter of Carmen,
- 2:28says Maria. Now, Carmen Lopez is not only a mother to me and
- 2:31my six siblings, but most importantly, she is the light in our world.
- 2:37She's loving, funny, and always willing to help others. She is
- 2:40someone who has touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. The
- 2:46void her absence has created is immeasurable. We are devastated by the thought of
- 2:51her suffering in captivity. We plead to the United States government to extend its
- 2:55full support to our mother. To the Mexican authorities, we demand that every
- 3:01resource be deployed to uncover the truth about our mother, Maria del Carmen Lopez's
- 3:07kidnap, and this family has turned to Community X and CEO and founder Chloe
- 3:14Cheyenne, who says Community X stands firmly with Carmen's family as they take on
- 3:20the unthinkable task of demanding justice for their kidnapped mother. Carmen status as an
- 3:25American citizen means that she's owed the best support possible from the American government.
- 3:32We believe that adequate federal resources should be allocated to this recovery effort. As
- 3:38each day go by, the possibility of Carmen being found alive decreases, and
- 3:45we are asking both the American and Mexican governments to work together and resolve the
- 3:50situation as soon as possible. Community X, by the way, is a
- 3:54social impact tech company which uses its digital activism to advocate for people around the
- 4:00world. See this community is stepping up. This community x app is stepping
- 4:06up for this family at Justice Forcarmen dot Com. To be honest, I
- 4:14did not realize who was kidnapped when I saw the story first on Fox News
- 4:21because the headline just blared American woman kidnapped in Mexico, and I thought,
- 4:29we're the same country that not only has not fought for this woman, but
- 4:33is allowing our borders to be open. Not to get political, but it
- 4:38is kind of crazy that both of these things are happening at the same time.
- 4:44We've got the FBI involved, but it seems like they're not doing enough
- 4:48about anything. And news wise, Christopher Ray is now held in contempt or
- 4:55going to be by the House of Representatives for not showing them a lot of
- 5:00information on the Biden a hunder Biden laptop situation. But this is why we
- 5:10need accountability, accessibility, and adaptability, because the accountability, the accessibility,
- 5:16and the adaptability are taken upon the families and the hard working men and women
- 5:23of this country, the ones that start the innovation, like Community X,
- 5:30who has the petition Justice Forcarmen dot com, the family that says we're not
- 5:34going to weigh around for the government of the United States or the Mexican government.
- 5:42That's where the American exceptionalism comes from. The families that step up and
- 5:51the CEOs that step up, and the communities that step up for those in
- 5:57need, not the government. And while my brain's on it, I want
- 6:01to say I've been reading Mark Twain and a Knnecticut Yankee goes to King Arthur's
- 6:11court thanks to Apple Books. But here's what he says, and I love
- 6:16what he says on page if you read this properly on page one seventy one
- 6:26of a Connecticut yank yanking Arthur's court, small independent farmers, artisans, etc.
- 6:35Or the nation, the actual nation. They were about all of it
- 6:41that was useful or worth saving or really respect worthy, And to subtract them
- 6:46would have to would have been to subtract the nation and leave behind some dregs
- 6:51refuse in the shape of a king, nobility, gentry, idol on productive,
- 6:58acquainted mainly with the arts of wasting and destroying of no sort or value
- 7:03in any rationally constructive world. What Mark Twain is saying, it's home to
- 7:09me today with the fight to get justice for Carmen, the independence, the
- 7:19seven tenths of the free population, just their class and degree, just the
- 7:30family struggling right now to find out where their mother, their sister, their
- 7:35grandmother is because our governments aren't helping. So this is why a story like
- 7:49this needs to be trending more, not just the story, but the efforts
- 7:54behind the story. And so if you're not able to. There will be
- 8:01a press conference in Los Angeles this Wednesday at twelve thirty pm Pacific time,
- 8:11when the press arrives at one pm Pacific four pm Eastern, where Community X
- 8:16and the family of kidnapped American woman Maria del Carmen Lopez all the preference conference
- 8:24in Los Angeles to demand justice. That justice is for Carmen. Justice Forcarmen
- 8:31dot com visit now. The fact that I'm in our government is doing anything
- 8:35to push the Mexican government to give this family that is suffering answers should really
- 8:39piss you off. And the fact that Community X and CEO Chloe Cheyenne is
- 8:50stepping up, she's also the founder of Community X, should give you hope
- 8:58that listening the fabric of this nation, the hard working men and women,
- 9:07not maybe the ones that they got to elect, the presence present, the
- 9:09hard working men and women. They are the ones that will keep this fabric
- 9:18alive because they're fighting and they're fighting back, and that's what I think Dan
- 9:24Ellsberg tried to do when he blew the lid off the Pentagon Papers to fight
- 9:30back in their own ways for the good of the American people and if they
- 9:35do find out and they do get answers quicker than the American government, they
- 9:41are heroes to maybe more detained by the Mexican cartels and then some down in
- 9:48Mexico and abroad. So go to Justice Forcarmen dot com. That's Justice Forcarmen
- 9:56dot com for information and collecting signatures on a petition that community X created to
- 10:05help the Lopez family locate and rescue Carmen. God bless you, Maria,
- 10:11Do Carmen Lopez. God bless the family of Maria. Do Carmen Lopez.
- 10:16And we'll keep an eye on this for you on the Alex Garrett Podcast Network
