Our Father in Heaven // Matthew 6:9-13 // Trey Hayman
What does it mean to pray "Our Father in heaven"? In week two of New City Church's series on the Lord's Prayer, Pastor Trey Hayman unpacks Matthew 6:9 and why Jesus starts prayer by reminding us who we're talking to. Our picture of God shapes how we pray, and for many of us that picture is shaped by our earthly fathers. Pastor Trey shows how Scripture names the pain of absent, passive and harmful fathers. Jesus points to a Father who sees, hears, knows and loves, and offers access and belonging through the word "our."
