- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome back to Creekcast. Today, we are diving into two
- 0:19stories of similar natures. We've been told one of them
- 0:22is a fan made or both of them are a
- 0:24fan made story.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Right, two fan made stories or slash creek cast, two
- 0:31fan made stories uploaded.
- 0:32Speaker 1: To the creepcast reddit. Because we are we're welcoming in people.
- 0:38Which is funny because this first story, which is probably
- 0:41the most upvoted story that has been submitted so far,
- 0:44is I woke up in the hospital two weeks ago.
- 0:46Everyone seems off And that was uploaded to uh no
- 0:51Sleep a long time ago and was removed and I
- 0:54believe the guy was banned. Uh so, Isaiah, do you
- 0:58want to tell us about the author at all? Yeah?
- 1:00So the author.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Their name on Reddit is user c paper seventy four
- 1:07one eight, but their name is Dean Bowl, Dean Bowler,
- 1:11Dean Boy. Their bioreads that they create short horror stories
- 1:15and upload them as narrations to listen to on YouTube,
- 1:17So you can head to their YouTube channel. We'll have
- 1:19it linked in the description where they do narrations of
- 1:21their own stories, which is pretty sick. They have one
- 1:24hundred and sixty one subscribers at the time of recording,
- 1:27and we need you to get those numbers up. So
- 1:31it seems that a bunch of people really liked this story.
- 1:33It had over two thousand up votes on r slash
- 1:36and No Sleep and then it got taken down, and
- 1:40he says, so he reposted it an r slash creep
- 1:43cast and then as soon as he did, it got
- 1:45over three hundred up votes, and then in the comments
- 1:49he said, thanks for enjoying it. It was top trending
- 1:52on No Sleep but got removed because I made a mistake.
- 1:55Speaker 3: On the original upload.
- 1:58Speaker 2: And then he says, was hoping to be appreciated on
- 2:00some other subreddits. Someone mentioned that, you know, this is
- 2:04typical for No Sleep, and he replied to that comment
- 2:07and said they low key rubbed it in. I tried
- 2:10to make them appeal and they were like, quote, decision stands.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I hope you have a wonderful day.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Good God.
- 2:17Speaker 2: So once again we've said this before, we'll say it again.
- 2:22Any of you know Sleep refugees feel free to come
- 2:26to our shores for safety.
- 2:28Speaker 1: We will take your stories, we will take your poor
- 2:30and you're hungry. I'm I'm sure there's like a method
- 2:34for their curation and the madness that it is, but
- 2:37it just so much of it reads like a like
- 2:39a power trip, doesn't it.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well, a lot of it's like the idea is
- 2:47with no sleep. It has to be real, right, It
- 2:49has to come across as someone actually posting this a
- 2:52scary story that happened to them. So sometimes it's like, oh,
- 2:57you added a prologue, Oh you did this. It's like
- 3:00normal storytelling conventions that wouldn't exist if it.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Was a real story.
- 3:03Speaker 2: That's why at the end there always has to be
- 3:05a reason the person is posting it to the internet.
- 3:09But like with Left Right Game, that's why there was
- 3:11that bizarre middle ground of the guy like, hey, guys
- 3:14posting the section because Bristol sent me the email. So
- 3:18it's it's like domb but I also understand it. But
- 3:21sometimes it seems like they take it too far, like
- 3:24he made a mistake, and it's like you wouldn't make
- 3:26a mistake in real life.
- 3:27Speaker 1: There would be a mistake if this really happened to you,
- 3:30so kick it out. So it's kind of dumb.
- 3:33Speaker 2: But he also mentions in other parts of it that
- 3:35he writes he writes a lot more stories in this.
- 3:37He has more stories on the way, and Dean, anytime
- 3:41you want to send stuff over to us, we are
- 3:43more than happy to take it.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So yeah, and I was. We'll be sure to leave
- 3:47a link in the description to his YouTube channel as well,
- 3:50Dean Boy. Otherwise, I just want to say thank you
- 3:53guys for listening on the audio platforms as well, such
- 3:56as Spotify, Apple Podcasting giving us a good rating. It
- 3:58helps us out and all. So thank you to our
- 4:00awesome Patreon members who do support the channel and get
- 4:03all that fresh goodness with Without further ado, let's just
- 4:07I say, let's just jump in.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Let's just jump right in.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Hunter. All right.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So I woke up in the hospital two weeks ago.
- 4:15Everyone seems off.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Bear with me.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I know this sounds crazy. Two weeks ago, I woke
- 4:21up in a hospital bed. They told me I was
- 4:24in a car accident. I don't remember the crash, just
- 4:27a blinding flash of light. Since being discharged, things have
- 4:31felt wrong, not just slightly off, deeply off, like the
- 4:36world is wearing a mask and I'm the only one
- 4:38who can see the seams. Little things were off at first,
- 4:41easy to dismiss, but today something happened. Something I can't explain,
- 4:48and now I know for sure, whatever this is, it
- 4:51isn't just in my head. This is real, and I'm scared.
- 4:56At first, nothing seemed too weird. I never spent a
- 4:59night in a hospital before, so waking up in a sterile,
- 5:02fluorescent lit room was bound to feel unsettling.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I brushed it off.
- 5:07Speaker 2: My parents were more doting than usual, but for people
- 5:09who son it almost died, they took it surprisingly well,
- 5:13at least until we got to the car. That's when
- 5:16the concern cracked and the disappointment seeped through. They scolded
- 5:20me for wrecking my three saturn ship box, calling me reckless.
- 5:24The words sounded right, worried, even empathetic. But something was off.
- 5:30My mom's face kept shifting, like she couldn't settle on
- 5:33how she was supposed to feel.
- 5:35Speaker 1: My dad, though he barely moved. It's okay, so I'm glad.
- 5:40Speaker 2: He followed up the shifting comment by saying she didn't
- 5:43know how to feel, because at first I thought he
- 5:44met her face keeps like changing its yeah, like shifting yeah,
- 5:49and he's like he's like, huh, something's a little what's
- 5:52wrong with mom?
- 5:53Speaker 4: No?
- 5:53Speaker 1: I liked it a little unusual I like the unsettling
- 5:56nature of a very classic alcohol wine drunk mom an
- 6:00emotionally absent father standing there. Of the amount of times
- 6:04I've seen that at my friend's house, it's insane even
- 6:06but my friend's house, your friend's house, not your house. No, no, no,
- 6:10my mom, my mom was. My mom was smiling, she
- 6:13was happy, and my dad was he was drunken somewhere else,
- 6:17So it would not not quite the full picture here.
- 6:20But I do like the idea.
- 6:22Speaker 2: When you like parental disappointment, it definitely is a friend
- 6:26of yours and not you that you think of, right,
- 6:30Is that what you're saying.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I'm I told you that I had my own demons,
- 6:34but this one is the classic wine drunk mom and
- 6:38the dad who's sitting there, I had his buddy mom
- 6:41glug glug glug. Every goddamn night was insane. I'd be like,
- 6:44I get the pizza roles, and she'd just be like,
- 6:46they're in the they're in the toaster. You're like what.
- 6:49And then the dad would be downstairs in this lazy
- 6:51boy and he'd just be watching Key and Peel in
- 6:53the dark. It was so frightening. I was like, Okay,
- 6:58I'm just gonna go back out to the room by
- 7:04I guess what I'm saying is I immediately I have
- 7:07a face to this person I'm picturing as my friend. Sure, buddy, Okay,
- 7:17he's that rigid, staring straight ahead, as if turning his
- 7:21head wasn't an option.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But I could feel him watching me, his gaze lingered
- 7:25in the rear view mirror, heaving cold. Each time I
- 7:29glanced up, I catch his eyes for just a split
- 7:31second before he snapped them back to the road.
- 7:34Speaker 3: But I knew, I knew he never really looked away.
- 7:38Speaker 2: After the sixth time, I stopped looking away, too. Mirror
- 7:42became a silent one way stand off. As I waited
- 7:44for him to scold me through it again. He didn't
- 7:47so much as glance at it for the rest of
- 7:48the drive. It was a short drive. None of this
- 7:52was cause for concern. Really, nothing that followed was all
- 7:56that crazy. But when we got home, I felt a
- 8:00shift coming from harsh fluorescence of the hospital and the
- 8:05golden stretch of road outside. I wasn't prepared for the
- 8:08cool dimness of the house. It wasn't dark exactly. Mom
- 8:13always kept the shades open. She liked the light, but
- 8:16now they weren't quite shut, just not open enough, like
- 8:22someone had hesitated halfway and left them there. My family
- 8:26didn't linger. After some pleasantries, Mom disappeared into the master bedroom,
- 8:31Dad went back to work, and I was left alone
- 8:33on the living room couch. I popped a til and
- 8:35Hall took a few hits from my pen in the bathroom,
- 8:38settled in. The rest of the day was mostly silent,
- 8:41aside from the occasional sound of Mom's bedroom door opening
- 8:44and closing.
- 8:46Speaker 3: I wasted time scrolling.
- 8:47Speaker 2: On my phone, barely aware of the shifting sunlight until
- 8:50a beam stretched across the room and hit my eyes.
- 8:53I turned from my pillow to the armrest, bought myself
- 8:56another twenty minutes. Then another beam crept up, warming my feet,
- 9:01like some kind of passive aggressive warning from the sun.
- 9:04Speaker 3: All right, message received.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Side, peeled myself off the couch, mumbled screw it you
- 9:10in before dragging myself to my room. I was asleep
- 9:13before I could think too much about it. So hold on,
- 9:16he was lying on his phone.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And then.
- 9:22Speaker 2: So it seems like daylight came too quickly, is what
- 9:24I gathered from that?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Right? I think, Uh, I just well, maybe I guess
- 9:29I read it as it was on his eyes, and
- 9:31then that's so much time had elapsed that it was
- 9:34now at his feet or whatever, and he's just like,
- 9:35all right, I better go to my room unless I'm wrong.
- 9:38Speaker 3: The week that followed was unusual, to say the least.
- 9:43Speaker 2: It was summer break, and normally I'd be stalking shelves
- 9:45at Walmart or messing around with my friends.
- 9:47Speaker 3: But doctor's orders were pretty straightforward.
- 9:50Speaker 2: You've got a concussion, don't be an idiot. No standing
- 9:53for long periods, no heavy lifting, no unnecessary risks.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Fine by me.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I got a doctor's note, couple of weeks off, and
- 10:01a temporary escape from the joys of minimum wage labor.
- 10:04Wasn't the end of the world. Part time jobs come
- 10:07and go for now. I just had some headaches and
- 10:10a free pass to lay low. Better that than risking
- 10:13something worse, whether it was from dreading work or from
- 10:16one of my friends intentionally checking a basketball into my
- 10:19skull because we're over competitive degenerates. I didn't really care
- 10:24to go outside much. The weather hadn't been as sunny
- 10:27as the first day I got back. Clouds hung low,
- 10:29thick and unmoving, like they were pressing down on the neighborhood.
- 10:34Even when the sun did break through, it was weak,
- 10:37watery light that barely seemed to touch the ground. Just
- 10:40made stain inside feel more justified, so I did.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You know, this weirdly reminds me of a story that
- 10:50I think we read for the Patreon blackout.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Do you remember that? Yeah, the Yeah, exactly, I know.
- 11:00Speaker 2: It was one where the guy was in the neighborhood.
- 11:03Yeah there was, Yeah, there was someone else in the neighborhood.
- 11:06But that story wasn't well written, so all of the
- 11:09strangeness came off as like this whole town's abandoned. I
- 11:12guess I will go play with my legos.
- 11:15Speaker 1: None, if it made sense.
- 11:17Speaker 2: This is a much more subtle version of that, where
- 11:19everything on first glance seems normal, but there's little inconsistencies.
- 11:24Speaker 1: He's nosy, like.
- 11:25Speaker 2: The way his mom pulls the blinds, or the way
- 11:29the clouds hang and the sunlight shines. It's a little
- 11:32bit off in a way that feels uncanny rather than
- 11:35like comedic.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I like the mixture of that too, with a concussion
- 11:40kind of interesting. Yeah, almost like a justifiable madness, you know.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and not a scenario where it's a crown
- 11:50man playing with Plato making stick figures like some other
- 11:53stories could be.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Know, we're not done yet. Yeah, I get.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I get to the next paragraph and he's like, I
- 11:59decided to make my Flato soldiers.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so I got out my easy bake oven.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Mister Stuffy's likes his tea room temperature but not too cold.
- 12:12I moved the Xbox from the basement to my room. Okay, Xbox,
- 12:17Oh no, the Xbox alone spine before getting closer, I
- 12:22might have summoned something.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I apologize. I moved the Xbox from the basement to
- 12:26my room.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Normally that would have been a no go, but if
- 12:29anyone asked, I just plead the concussion card and call
- 12:32it a win. No one even commented on it, which
- 12:36felt strange like they should have but didn't. I just
- 12:40told up gaming, eating, zoning out in front of Skyrimblore
- 12:44videos in the living room whatever. Aside from family dinners,
- 12:47I didn't talk to my parents much. The conversations at
- 12:50the table were dull, barely conversations at all. Dad was
- 12:54working later than usual, often slipping away right after eating.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Mom was around I knew that much.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I heard her bedroom doors opening and closing, the creak
- 13:04of the floorboards when she walked, the soft shift of
- 13:08her feet brushing across the carpet upstairs. But I barely
- 13:11saw her, not in the kitchen, not in the living room,
- 13:14not even when I grab snacks at night.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I don't know why, but it's very it's very unsettling.
- 13:18Just the idea of just continuously hearing doors opening and
- 13:21closing from another room.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Well, well, see, it's funny because that's something if you
- 13:27know who else is in the house, you don't even
- 13:29think about.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Like with Kayla in the house, I'll hear her.
- 13:32Speaker 2: You know, doing laundry, moving back and forth, and it
- 13:34doesn't mean anything, but the way he's phrasing it where
- 13:37it's like I know she's here because I hear doors
- 13:39and something moving, It's like, wow.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Why are you phrasing at that way that?
- 13:43Speaker 4: I just mean?
- 13:44Speaker 1: I don't like that other cage that's me. Every time
- 13:46I'm meeting and I hear Alison shifting around and she
- 13:50shuts her door, and ways just say, what the fuck
- 13:52is she doing? What is she planning? What are you planning?
- 13:56When are you keep going in the cloud? I say,
- 14:01why are you dying? And she doesn't respond to your
- 14:03sutles run down stairs.
- 14:07Speaker 3: She cares at you.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you run to the top of the
- 14:10stairs and you're like, you think this is your house?
- 14:12Speaker 3: You think you have a right to do things here?
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yea, where are you?
- 14:16Speaker 2: You think you own the place? Kind of entitlement is that?
- 14:20And then you start throwing things at.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Her, very rare Chinese vases, throw them down to the
- 14:27in the stairs, crashing. He keeps a.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Stack of them at the top of the stairs because
- 14:32when I first got to his house, there was like,
- 14:35you know, this broken pottery and like, you know, porcelain
- 14:38all over the stairs.
- 14:39Speaker 1: And I got to the top and there's a stack
- 14:40of bases. I'm like, Hunter, what are these for?
- 14:44Speaker 2: He hits me with them a lot, and then hunters like, yeah,
- 14:47it's the game we play. But like she didn't, like
- 14:49you could tell the way she talked about it was
- 14:52not a game to her, and it was something that
- 14:54I probably should have told someone. I'm telling someone about
- 14:57it now, So I think.
- 14:57Speaker 1: That these are goodbye vases. Yeah, maybe I should have
- 15:02done something, but I guess it's in the past. Is
- 15:06in the past, come to think of it, I don't
- 15:09think I ever saw her downstairs. Aside from dinner, some
- 15:13grocery spoiled, which is weird because Mom was normally on
- 15:16top of that kind of thing.
- 15:18Speaker 2: When I pointed it out, she took me shopping, which
- 15:20was actually kind of nice. I got way more say
- 15:23in what we stalked the fridge with than usual.
- 15:26Speaker 3: That was a win. But as we wandered the aisles,
- 15:28I noticed something.
- 15:30Speaker 2: People were staring at me, not in a casual passing way, intensely,
- 15:37like they were trying to memorize my face, or maybe
- 15:39like they weren't sure what they were looking at. Each
- 15:42time I caught someone, they snapped their head away like
- 15:44they hadn't been watching at all, But the feeling stayed.
- 15:48Not a single person looked like they could hold a
- 15:51normal expression on their faces. It was like they shifted
- 15:54through wry motions during the most mundane tasks and began
- 15:58to feel in danger. Worse, I started to notice something else.
- 16:03As Mom and I passed people, I swore I could
- 16:06hear them pivot to watch me after we walked by.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I never actually saw it happen, but I could hear.
- 16:11Speaker 2: It, the soft squeak of a shoe turning the faint
- 16:15rustle of fabric shifting. I wanted to ask Mom if
- 16:18she noticed anything, but the word stuck in my throat.
- 16:22If she hadn't, i'd sound crazy If she had, I
- 16:25didn't want to know.
- 16:27Speaker 3: I tried to shrug it off.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'd been a complete goblin for the past week, barely
- 16:31keeping up with shaving, and yeah, my facial hair was
- 16:34patchy as hell. Maybe I just looked like a mess.
- 16:37Maybe I was imagining things. Whatever.
- 16:41Speaker 1: When I got back home, hopped on.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Xbox, made plans with some friends for later in the week,
- 16:45told myself i'd get cleaned up by then.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Everything was fine.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Everything was fine two days past, nothing noteworthy, just my
- 16:53growing awareness of how off everything felt. Mom was moving
- 16:57around more, at least I think she was. I'd hear footsteps,
- 17:01see I don't like that. I don't like it's phrasing.
- 17:02Speaker 1: There.
- 17:03Speaker 2: I'd hear footsteps, soft shuffling noises. It always seemed to
- 17:06stop right outside my door. The first few times I
- 17:09brushed it off. Maybe she was just passing by, Maybe
- 17:13she was listening for signs that I was awake. But
- 17:16the more I paid attention, the more it felt deliberate.
- 17:21The house was dim, sure, but my room wasn't. I
- 17:25kept my bay window shades open, letting in just enough
- 17:29light to make it feel normal or at least less
- 17:32like the rest of the house the hall way outside,
- 17:35though it was always in shadow. There was only one
- 17:39time of day where light from the high windows in
- 17:41the living room even touched my door, and it wasn't.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Now.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Interesting, So he's setting in his room and he keeps
- 17:51hearing something come up to the door and then stop.
- 17:54But there's too much light getting into his room, like
- 18:00from outside of his room. There's a place where light's
- 18:02supposed to pass through, and at weird times of the
- 18:05day it seems like he's being lit up. Interesting, that's
- 18:10I like, how gentle. It's playing the horror card so
- 18:14far right, like unsettled. Yeah, it's like there's too much light.
- 18:19People look at me strange. I hear footsteps, Mom stands
- 18:23outside the doors, stuff like that. It works very well.
- 18:27Speaker 1: This is probably your childhood Hell huh A little bit? Yeah,
- 18:31well I did. Is there a reason that you apply
- 18:34this to me specifically? M none that I feel comfortable
- 18:39talking about on the podcast.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Okay, I did use to prank my sisters with a
- 18:43red light. I had so I told have you ever
- 18:46heard the white with red story? It's like a classic
- 18:48internet urban legend thing. So it's this, it's this, it's
- 18:55like the short version. It's creepy pasta. A guy go
- 18:58checks into a weird hotel. His room connects to a
- 19:03room next door, and he hears from the front desk
- 19:07that there's a ghost that lives in the room next
- 19:09to him. So he looks through the keyhole one night
- 19:12and he sees like a woman like sitting in a chair,
- 19:15like a ghostly bride looking figure. And then the next
- 19:18night he looks again and she's standing up right over
- 19:21in the corner. And the next night he looks and
- 19:23all he sees through the keyhole is red, like something
- 19:26bright red looking back at him, and he figures, oh,
- 19:28she must have figured out I was creeping on her,
- 19:30so she hung like a scar for put up something
- 19:33red to block my view. And then as he's checking
- 19:36out at the hotel, he asked about the woman that
- 19:38supposedly died there, and the guy's like, yeah, everything about
- 19:41her is pretty normal except her eyes that were deep red,
- 19:45And I was like, oh, if she was looking through
- 19:47he was looking through the key hole and she was
- 19:48staring back at him.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's all right.
- 19:50Speaker 2: So I told my sisters that story to prime them,
- 19:54to freak them out, and they were very scared. So
- 19:57then that night I would like walk around, like run
- 20:00up to their door and stop. They both slept in
- 20:03the same room at this time, so I'd run to
- 20:05the door and stop and they'd be like, oh, they'd
- 20:07be like or whatever. So I'd like walk away and
- 20:10then junk and like get up to the.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Door and quit.
- 20:12Speaker 2: They're like, and I had I had a red it's
- 20:17like a red flashlight. So after I did that a
- 20:20few times, I just held it up to the bottom
- 20:23of the door, this bread light like shot across the
- 20:28floor through the room.
- 20:29Speaker 1: As soon as I did. They both just that's a lot.
- 20:38That's a lot funnier and more innocent than I legitally thought.
- 20:40You were gonna have like a military grade red laser
- 20:42and shine it through and they look through and you
- 20:44like blinded one of your sisters or something like that.
- 20:46Speaker 2: No, I never I never hurt them, seriously, It was
- 20:49just scared. I like to scare them a lot, like
- 20:53like go put something. I remember I had this fake
- 20:55spider like a tarantula thing that I taped to their
- 20:59window outside. So the next morning when they opened up
- 21:01the blinds like there was a spider on, freaked me out.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I do stuff like that. I never heard them though,
- 21:05You're like made them better people, So yeah, well I.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Would have been like at the time, I was too busts.
- 21:13That would have been like ten to twelve, so they
- 21:16were the ages of like like six days maybe ten.
- 21:24So yeah, I was I was mean, But they're better
- 21:27people now. They're both they're both they both graduated college,
- 21:31they're both successful.
- 21:32Speaker 3: I like to think I had a hand in that.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Okay, that's good and they and they'd agree, and if
- 21:36they don't, they don't have a social media platform to counter.
- 21:39Speaker 1: So you know, there it is. Can I tell you
- 21:42a secret. I'm in desperate need of medical attention and care.
- 21:46I'm so old, fat.
- 21:48Speaker 4: And I'm faring apart at the seas.
- 21:50Speaker 1: But I don't know what doctor do you use? I
- 21:52don't know anything about doctors, and that's why I use

- 23:01Speaker 2: That's why I knew I shouldn't have seen anything, and
- 23:04yet I did. I heard her the same soft shuffle.
- 23:09Glanced over from the edge of my bed, half expecting nothing,
- 23:12just another trick of my nerves.
- 23:14Speaker 3: First split second.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I saw them, her toenails, just at the edge of
- 23:20the door like that. The instant I read, I don't
- 23:23like that either. The instant I registered them. They shot
- 23:27back too fast, so fast it was like they hadn't been.
- 23:30Speaker 1: There at all. I don't like that. God, what the fuck?
- 23:36Speaker 4: Mom?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Mom? I see your titsies. Mom, you have beautiful feet.
- 23:56Speaker 2: But I knew what I saw the carpet where they
- 23:58had been left the face this depression or slowly rising
- 24:02back into place. Oh oh that's awful. So quake, the
- 24:05carpet rises.
- 24:07Speaker 1: The carpet came and catch up as fucked.
- 24:11Speaker 3: My stomach twisted. Okay, that was it.
- 24:14Speaker 2: No more dappin, no more convincing myself I wasn't tripping
- 24:18out when clearly I was seeing shit. I waited, listened,
- 24:23arned her shuffle away, her door click shut. I exelled,
- 24:28rubbed my face and stood up.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Enough of this.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I needed to get out of the house.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Needed to see my friends, James, Nikki, Dee, and Tyler.
- 24:37The goal was simple, sober up, ground myself, and maybe
- 24:41just maybe break up what was going on over Xbox.
- 24:46It all sounded completely normal. I'd only mentioned a few
- 24:49things in passing, nothing that set off any alarms for them.
- 24:52But of our talks had just been about girls from
- 24:54our school, memes and bullshitting and Rainbow six siege lobbies.
- 24:58Maybe I was just overthinking. Maybe everything was fine. But
- 25:02as I grabbed my keys and headed for the door,
- 25:04I couldn't shake the feeling that somewhere upstairs mother was listening.
- 25:13Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Obviously driving wasn't an option. My car was totaled. My
- 25:19parents handed me two hundred and fifty dollars for the
- 25:21scrap It was apparently worse, and that was that.
- 25:25Speaker 3: So how bad did he total it?
- 25:27Speaker 2: That they got two hundred and fifty bucks, or that
- 25:29that was a reasonable fair?
- 25:31Speaker 1: To be fair, it was a two thousand and three Saturn,
- 25:35but two hundred and fifty dollars Like there was like, yeah,
- 25:39you couldn't sell the radio. I think they I think
- 25:41they I think they overpaid. I think they overpaid them. Okay, okay.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So I dusted off my old bike from the shed
- 25:48in the back. I didn't even glance at the house
- 25:51on my way out, didn't need to see my creepy
- 25:53ass mom peeking from some upstairs window like a horror
- 25:56movie extra. If I did, I'd probably swerve straight into
- 25:59traffic just to have we're dealing with it reasonable response. Instead,
- 26:04I shoved the thoughts down and let myself believe, just
- 26:07for a little longer than I was just tripping balls.
- 26:10Speaker 1: That was safer, That was better. Besides, my odds were good.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I still had headaches, I was still a little stoned.
- 26:17I was still taking talinol. Put it all together, and
- 26:20maybe my brain was just running like a lackey. Xbox,
- 26:23A lot.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Of mentions of the Xbox. I just want to say,
- 26:26so again, what you said, I said, just a lot
- 26:29of mentions of the Xbox, A lot of Xbox. He
- 26:31brings up the connects or something. I'm gonna that's gonna
- 26:33make me. I'm gonna be over if the Xbox becomes
- 26:37a major player in this story. He's like, But then
- 26:38I turned to my Xbox. I said you're my only friend,
- 26:41and I turned on my connection and I started dancing.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I want to take a quick moment to think today's
- 26:45sponsor Tushy. Tushy is the luxury bedet that your bathroom
- 26:49has been missing, and over two million butts left Tushy
- 26:52and it's not hard to see why. I've said it before,
- 26:54and I'll say it again. If you don't have a bidet.
- 26:56Speaker 1: You mean less than me.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I did not have a bidet for a long time.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I thought that they were silly, and then as soon
- 27:01as Tushy sit me one, I now am.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Someone whose life matters. I'm not kidding.
- 27:05Speaker 2: There's a few household inventions that have definitively changed my life,
- 27:09and Tushy's bidet is one of them. I now feel
- 27:11like an animal anytime I have to use someone's bathroom
- 27:14who doesn't have one. And you know this is a
- 27:15personal endorsement, because this is far too aggressive for them
- 27:18to pay me to say. Not only are Tushy bidets
- 27:20more hygienic, but people who have made the switch to
- 27:23Tushy use up to eighty percent less toilet paper, unless
- 27:25toilet paper means more money saved, less clogged toilets, and
- 27:29less gross bathroom experiences since the bidet does most of
- 27:32the cleaning and you use the toilet paper to dry off,
- 27:34and of course Tushy therefore reduces things like irritation. Terri
- 27:38sushi is also super easy to use and install. Depending
- 27:41on the model you get it, either replaces your toilet
- 27:43seat or just goes underneath the one you already have. Remember,
- 27:47a whole is only a dirty word if you want
- 27:50and if Tushy sounds good to you, and it should,
- 27:52then now it's the perfect time to get in on
- 27:54the offer. That's because for a limited time, our listeners
- 27:56get ten percent off their first day when you use
- 27:59code creek.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Asked a checkout.
- 28:01Speaker 2: That's right, ten percent off your first bidet order at
- 28:03hellotushy dot com promo code creekcast to get your incredible
- 28:07offer today. Thank you to Tushy for sponsoring the show.
- 28:10We are now back to the episode. I rode up
- 28:14to the high school football field in about twenty minutes
- 28:16and hop the fence. Everyone was already there, James, sniky
- 28:20De and Tyler and.
- 28:21Speaker 1: What followed it was awesome.
- 28:24Speaker 2: The dab ups were a little stiff at first, but
- 28:26once we got going, everything fell into place. We had
- 28:29a pomp football which last about ten minutes before it
- 28:31needed air again, and a frisbee. Some was bright for
- 28:35the first time since I'd left the hospital, and for
- 28:37the first time in days, I felt good. I'd shaved.
- 28:40I was surrounded by my friends and I started to
- 28:43think no. I started to hope maybe I'd just been
- 28:46missing out on real, in person socialization. I almost fell
- 28:50for it, almost let myself believe everything was fine. This
- 28:54is also interesting because so far it could just be
- 28:59read as some one one who has a concussion, just
- 29:02like growing paranoia.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Yeeah. We played for hours.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Eventually we were wiped, ready to debrief before heading home.
- 29:10I was closest to the corner of the field where
- 29:12the old water pump was, so I went first, yank
- 29:16the lever, let the water rush out. Cut my hands drank.
- 29:20The others chatted behind me, their voices blending with the
- 29:24soft splash of the pump. Refreshed, I wondered back to
- 29:27where we'd been playing frisbee, flopped onto the grass, pulled
- 29:31out my phone. The sun was brutal, washing out the screen.
- 29:36I tilted it, angling downward to block the glare, squinting
- 29:39as I reached for the power button. And then I
- 29:42frozed because in the black reflection of my phone screen
- 29:46I saw them, all three of them, standing at the
- 29:50water pump, staring at the back of my head. James
- 29:55and Tyler's faces were wrong, their jaws hung open to
- 30:00wide far past what should have been possible. It wasn't
- 30:03just slack, It was distorted. Their bottom lips curled downwards,
- 30:07just enough to reveal rows of teeth, their heads tilted forward,
- 30:10eyes locked onto me, shoulders hunched, arms dangling two loosely
- 30:14at their sides. They looked like something out of an eyemare,
- 30:17like the scream, but worse.
- 30:20Speaker 3: NICKI wasn't as bad.
- 30:22Speaker 2: He was staring too, but his face shifted the same
- 30:25way my moms did once she picked up from the hospital,
- 30:28like he couldn't quite get it right. And yet their
- 30:32conversation hadn't stopped. Their voices came out perfectly, flowing like normal.
- 30:37James and Tyler weren't moving their mouths. The water pump
- 30:41was still running. I had my phone up for maybe
- 30:43a second, but my whole body jerked like I'd been stabbed.
- 30:46Fingers fumbled, and my phone slipped from my hands. Leaning
- 30:49in the grass with a soft thud, Nikki asked if
- 30:52I was good. I could barely think, barely breathe. Beads
- 30:56of sweat formed on my temples. I swallowed hard, forced
- 30:59to smile, forced the words out, yeah, Yeah, I'm great,
- 31:03and I turned to face them normal. They looked normal,
- 31:07Everything was normal. But my stomach twisted in the knots
- 31:10because I knew what I saw. For the first time
- 31:13since I got home, I realized I had nowhere to
- 31:16run you.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Sure you're good. I can't even remember who asked me that. Yeah,
- 31:21I'm good, man. My head's just pounding. I think I
- 31:25should go home.
- 31:26Speaker 3: That part was true. It was pounding. Nikki frowned.
- 31:30Speaker 1: You need to ride internally, no externally, No bro, what
- 31:38you like driving dudes around your car or something? You
- 31:40and the teenage boys. I got this. I just offered
- 31:45you a ride, but you need to suck your cock
- 31:47on the way home. It's just pretty formal thing. Any
- 31:51you want to you want to eat my asshole out,
- 31:53and you know, do all kinds of weird stuff with me.
- 31:55I mean, jackie off in the driver's seat. Okay that
- 32:00I'll never ask this ever again in my life.
- 32:02Speaker 2: It's funny because anytime I offered to give you ride somewhere,
- 32:05that's typically what you.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I jump for joy and I I do. I do, yes, yes, yes,
- 32:17you're giving You're giving them too much to work with.
- 32:19I take I take three or four butter Scotch candies.
- 32:22I rolling around my mouth and I get my my side.
- 32:26I do, I say, I do, I should I if
- 32:32you're wonderful, that's why I say like that. Gosh, what okay?
- 32:40So I guess we can't be bros. It's fine if
- 32:44I can't do what fellas do. I guess boys can't
- 32:48be boys.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Gosh. The other two laughed, the tention crack just a little.
- 32:55We all started getting ready to part ways, but I
- 32:57dragged it out. I will say that that interaction though,
- 33:01like trying to get out of something with a friend,
- 33:03and then say that is one of the most realistic
- 33:05things we've ever read on the show. That's one hundred
- 33:07percent like, well, you like driving, dudes?
- 33:09Speaker 1: What are you? That's pretty?
- 33:11Speaker 4: Why?
- 33:12Speaker 1: Why is that realistic?
- 33:16Speaker 2: We all start getting ready to part ways, but I
- 33:18dragged it out. Paced around their cars, made jokes, toss
- 33:22the football over the hoods, anything to stall, kiss each other,
- 33:24keep stealing glances at the mirrors and windows, waiting for
- 33:27another glimpse of what was under their veils.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 33:32Speaker 2: First few times, I swear I saw their eyes start
- 33:34away from mind and the reflections, like they knew what
- 33:37I was doing. Then it was like they just stopped
- 33:40looking towards me altogether. No matter how I angled myself,
- 33:43how past I glanced, I never caught them.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Like I had on the field.
- 33:47Speaker 2: And yet, looking back, I can't shake the feeling like
- 33:51they knew exactly where I was looking, like they had
- 33:55just found ways to stare at me from difficult angles
- 33:57without me ever catching their eyes.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Such a pick me, girl? Dude? Is that what the
- 34:04story is about? A pick me? I think it might
- 34:07be all right, guys, So what you don't want to
- 34:08fucking kiss my chest now or something? Were we not bros? Now?
- 34:13It's weird. When they look at me, I feel scared,
- 34:15But when they don't look at me, I get angry.
- 34:18It's definitely something Picky Energy did. Okay, I'm just glad
- 34:23they let me go home.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I don't even know what the end goal is, but
- 34:27I feel like I'm being bled out played with before
- 34:29I'm eating Eaten managed to study my breathing on the
- 34:33ride back.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So I pulled up to my house.
- 34:35Speaker 2: I veered towards the spare garage, an old thatched structure
- 34:39barely used except for storage. I figured I'd leave my
- 34:42bike in there for now, just so I wouldn't have
- 34:44to linger outside any longer than necessary. I wheeled up
- 34:48to the side door, gripped the rusted handle the lock
- 34:51it long since broken, and with a firm push, the
- 34:53door growned open. Dustin stelle air hit me first sent
- 34:57an old cardboard and forgotten chunk. The space was dim,
- 35:01faintly illuminated by street lights filtering through the grimy windows.
- 35:06I rolled my bike inside, careful not to trip over
- 35:08scattered tools and warped furniture. When I froze, in the
- 35:14center of the garage, right where it shouldn't be, was
- 35:18my car. Perfectly intact. Okay, that's good, that's cool, perfectly intact,
- 35:24not totaled, not even scratched. My breath caught in my throat.
- 35:29I took a slow step forward, fingers brushing the hood, cold, real, tangible.
- 35:36The last I had heard of this car, I was
- 35:38being told it had been wrecked, scrapped. My parents handed
- 35:43me two hundred and fifty bucks and said that's all
- 35:45it was worth. So why was it here? I circled
- 35:49to the driver's side and peered inside. The keys weren't
- 35:52in the ignition, but they dangled from the dash. Something
- 35:56was off the seat normally adjusted to fit me was
- 35:59pushed all the way back like someone much taller had
- 36:02been sitting there. A low trimmer crawled up my spine.
- 36:07The cards, by being untouched, was covered in dust. How
- 36:12long was I in the hospital doesn't matter. It was
- 36:15getting dark. I did a quick fluid check, ran my
- 36:18hands over the tires, making sure it'd be ready if
- 36:21I needed it, and jogged back to the house. The
- 36:24second I stepped through the front door, it hit me again.
- 36:29Oh huh, rapid aggressive shuffling or slam.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Then in a voice.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Too casual, too normal to be real.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Honey, you missed dinner. Want me to heat some enough
- 36:42for you? No, it's okay, mom. All handled.
- 36:46Speaker 2: The living room TV was blue screened, casting a sickly
- 36:51glow over the open floor plan. I didn't dare mess
- 36:55with my parents set up this point. They had to
- 36:58know I was onto them. I would do nothing to
- 37:01disturb the peace. I grabbed some snacks from the fridge,
- 37:05went straight to my room, locked the door. I go
- 37:09out my old iPod gen six for middle school, married
- 37:11in a shoe box and set it to charge.
- 37:14Speaker 3: For a while, I just sat there listening. It was
- 37:17too quiet.
- 37:18Speaker 2: I facetimed the iPod for my phone, hesitating debating whether
- 37:22I should even leave my room keep serious. Lay out
- 37:25was simple, four rooms. Mine was first on the left
- 37:29to the top of the stairs. My parents was last
- 37:32on the right at the very end a closet where
- 37:35we capted detergent and towels.
- 37:38Speaker 1: My bathroom was the last door on the left. The
- 37:41plan was simple, a strategic iPod drop off during my
- 37:45next bathroom run. I executed flawlessly, waiting for the next
- 37:49round of patrolling before slipping out. I cracked the closet
- 37:53door just enough to give my iPod a view down
- 37:55the hall, plug the charger in beneath the bottom shelf,
- 37:58and left it there. I hit an eye.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Wait first of all, not to put the bump in
- 38:04the road. Can you FaceTime an iPod?
- 38:07Speaker 1: I thought you could with the I thought you could
- 38:09with the eye touches. But maybe I'm not sure unless
- 38:13unless you just talk about unless you's just talking about
- 38:14like iPhone, maybe I'll go with it. I just remember
- 38:21the eye touch they had, like the camera and stuff
- 38:23on it. Remember that one.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Probably, I guess I didn't think FaceTime was a thing
- 38:27back then, but whatever. A wait to see what my
- 38:30parents really looked like when they thought no one was watching.
- 38:34I almost regret this decision. It seemed fine when I
- 38:37got back into my room and locked the door, quietly,
- 38:40angled my dresser in front of it, wedged in my
- 38:42desk's chair as tightly as I could under the handle.
- 38:46Too much movement, too much movement from him from the Oh,
- 38:52it's like he's a spider.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Or sorry, it's like he's a bug in a spider's web.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, No, he's fucked. He's caught right now, dude.
- 38:59Speaker 2: When he opened that door and it says a shuffling,
- 39:03aggressive like movement, and then a door slamming like everything
- 39:08was out. And then the second he opened that door
- 39:10at all, like cockroaches when you turn.
- 39:11Speaker 3: On the light, all streight in place.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I heard my parents door fly open, slamming into the
- 39:17inside wall of their bedroom. By the time I grabbed
- 39:20my phone, she was already there, standing at the end
- 39:23of the hall, facing my door, swaying. She was past
- 39:28the weird shifting face that Nicky had. Whatever this is,
- 39:32there's stages. Her jaw wasn't just distend it, it was
- 39:36stretched beyond its slimmit. The skin pulled so tight it
- 39:40dangled with every sway of her body. Even from here,
- 39:43I could see the bags under her eyes, not just
- 39:46dark circles, but loose, sagging folds that drooped to her
- 39:50upper lip, exposing way too much dry pink eyelid. Her hair,
- 39:56thin and patchy, clung to her scalp with a greasy
- 39:58sheen from the glow of the the living room TV
- 40:00and the dim light spilling from the master bedroom. Her
- 40:04arms didn't hang herra elbows were bent, its stiff, unnatural
- 40:09ninety degree ankles, shoulders hunched forward, wrist limp, long, bony
- 40:15fingers dangling. The only way I knew it was my
- 40:18mom was a pajamat top clung to her sharp, skeletal frame,
- 40:22stretched over the ridges of her spine, hanging loose around
- 40:26her frail shoulders. She leaned in, pressed against the door,
- 40:32her head tilted slow, deliberate, like she could see through
- 40:38the wood, tracking exactly where I was, And then a whisper, honey,
- 40:46are you awake. Her mouth didn't move, lips stretched, thin,
- 40:51jaw unhinged and frozen in that grotesque slack jawed state,
- 40:56but the words came anyway, perfectly clear, human, I know
- 41:02you're a.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Honey, I just heard you moving. Uh yeah, I just
- 41:08moved some furniture around I didn't like where my TV.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Was a pause, then the whisper again, perfectly clear, perfectly human.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Can I see my throat tightened?
- 41:24Speaker 1: Tomorrow? I'm naked right now and I don't know. I
- 41:28don't want to get dressed.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Please, please, please work.
- 41:34Speaker 2: I was frozen, my face glued to my phone screen,
- 41:37not daring to look away from the Granny FaceTime feed.
- 41:41My breath barely made a sound, and finally.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Okay tomorrow. Then as she.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Spoke, something shifted in the farthest, darkest corner passed the stairs.
- 41:54First I thought it was just a shadow, but then
- 41:57an arm, then brittle dangling down from the ceiling like
- 42:03a puppet on cut strings. Another arm followed, then a body,
- 42:08slow and deliberate, lowering itself down the wall. My stomach
- 42:13turned to eyes. Dad did he ever even leave the house?
- 42:20Was he already this far along when he picked me
- 42:22up from the hospital with Mom?
- 42:24Speaker 1: None of it mattered.
- 42:26Speaker 2: He moved with absolute silence, clamoring up the stairs. His
- 42:29mom whispered one last time.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Good nice, I love you.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Then Dad shuffled past her, same stiff, unnatural cadence.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Mom had been moving with for weeks.
- 42:42Speaker 2: If I weren't staring straight at him, could have sworn
- 42:45it was still her. He went to the master bedroom,
- 42:48closed the door, then without making a single noise, he
- 42:52came back, just completely silently, like through the house, a
- 42:57trick I would have surely fell for if I hadn't
- 42:59been watching this whole time.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Uh, it's like, Okay.
- 43:04Speaker 2: We're gonna go reset, We're gonna shut the door, and
- 43:06then we're gonna be completely silent and then pound weight
- 43:09to pound.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it makes all the it makes all the
- 43:11noise of been making more deliberate and less like. Yeah,
- 43:14before it almost felt like animals going in and out,
- 43:17you know what I mean, recklessly, But now it feels
- 43:19all intentional, which is just fucking horrifying.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Trying to mimic what parents sound like, closing doors, opening
- 43:25doors and stuff like that. But now it's like they
- 43:27can be completely silent when they're ready. He ended right
- 43:31behind where she was standing, And that brings me to now,
- 43:35for the past two hours, they've been outside my door.
- 43:39Speaker 3: If remove I make they track it.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Through the wood through the silence, it's three oh two am.
- 43:47If I can just make it to daylight without passing out.
- 43:49I think I can open the bay window and jump
- 43:53after that straight to the spare garage, grab a car,
- 43:56get out of town. I don't know how far this
- 43:58shit has spread, but I can't stay here. Oh God,
- 44:02they're getting on the ground, lowering themselves, peeking under the door.
- 44:08I might have to go right now. Okay, Okay, damn it.
- 44:12I'll update when I'm safe.
- 44:15Speaker 1: That's the end. You know what I like about that ending?
- 44:18To Isaiah solid I like that. I like that ending
- 44:21because there's no part too. I liked it. This is
- 44:24one of those things where this is the perfect story
- 44:27to not have a sequel. By the way, this is
- 44:31a thing that is so simple. Really. The only thing
- 44:34that happens is a guy is like walking around. He
- 44:36goes and visits his friend, once comes back to the
- 44:39house and the parents are still being weird. It just
- 44:41goes to show that, like, not a lot of things
- 44:44happen in a story, but the way that it's paced
- 44:46out and the way that you basically are just given.
- 44:49Like it's such a simple idea, but it uses the
- 44:53short format in a great way where I feel like
- 44:57I there's a lot of things I like about the one.
- 45:01Still don't really know if this guy, if this kid
- 45:03is like this is all just a concussion nightmare thing
- 45:07is even awake, you know what I mean? This guy like,
- 45:10I mean, I don't I don't know if he's like
- 45:11in a fucking coma or something like that, Like the
- 45:13wreck could have been real and this is all just
- 45:15playing out in his head or something he could be.
- 45:17Speaker 2: In his head, could be some kind of like he's
- 45:21fallen prey to some something that's he's in a coma
- 45:25and this is all in a coma or or maybe
- 45:28some I don't know, some alternate world somewhere. Well, that
- 45:31is what there's any kind of possibility he could have
- 45:33fallen into.
- 45:34Speaker 1: That's what I was gonna say, is I know it's
- 45:36been a while since I said it, but very Lovecraftian
- 45:39where it could be that his head struck and his
- 45:43mind open, is is able to see things maybe as
- 45:46they really are, or like an alternate dimension of things
- 45:49around him. So I'm like also wondering, are his parents
- 45:52just normal but he's seeing like the fucked up version
- 45:54of this, like alternate reality around him, that kind of thing.
- 45:58I really love the car not being destroyed either that's
- 46:02like a fun detail that also, who gives a fuck,
- 46:04I don't need to I don't need to know what
- 46:06happened with that. That's just a great It's just a
- 46:08great tool again for deceit of like what why the
- 46:14fuck is this here? You know what I mean? Like,
- 46:15we don't. I don't need to know more about it,
- 46:17But I do like how he's like, well, you know,
- 46:19I'm going to see if I can regroup and figure
- 46:20out what's up. And then all of a sudden it's like, oh, wait, no,
- 46:23they're peering at me from under the door. I might
- 46:25just have to leave now. There's just a sense of
- 46:27urgency to where I like the reader can just kind.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Of run with it. At the end, did he get out?
- 46:35Speaker 1: Was this real? These kind of questions are fun. I
- 46:38like the conversation you can have with people, uh within
- 46:43with an ending like this, you know, because it feels
- 46:45like everything that the story needed to tell you it
- 46:47has told you, Like resolving this monster story isn't going
- 46:51to be I don't think necessarily satisfying. I think it
- 46:53like props up a great idea for a scary idea,
- 46:57and it gives you just enough to be like Oh,
- 46:59that was fun. I wonder if it's this or that,
- 47:01and it makes it so much more fun than if
- 47:03someone tries to give you the ending in a way
- 47:06where I feel like it's gonna disappoint you. Maybe so,
- 47:11I don't know. I really don't think.
- 47:12Speaker 2: It leaves just enough unanswered to make you ask some
- 47:15really cool and creepy questions.
- 47:17Speaker 3: I think it tells you just enough, and it keeps
- 47:19just enough in the shadows.
- 47:21Speaker 1: So this is great. I was also I've been reading
- 47:23through his other posts.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Apparently this got removed because nothing tangible happened to the character.
- 47:32Speaker 1: According to the No Sleep mods, he got a thirty
- 47:38day band because this and another of his stories broke
- 47:42that same rule.
- 47:43Speaker 3: According to him, that nothing tangible happened to these.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I like how it like hownostly, but it's like a
- 47:48tangible thing that has to have to do A character
- 47:50is like a child has to either be like assaulted
- 47:53or like somebody or like a child needs to be
- 47:56assaulted or somebody has to like clearly die when it's
- 47:59like I guess him being through this concussion concussion and
- 48:01then being tormented by his fucking like his entire town,
- 48:05his friends and family, yeah, I mean, nothing really happens
- 48:09to him.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Well, he did ride something funny and ursub read and
- 48:13he said, he says, he has a thirty day ban.
- 48:17And he says, because I didn't have something tangible like
- 48:21my character's penis sloughing off from radioactive acid treatment.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Yeah, we didn't. They didn't have an indestructible pedophile come
- 48:28in and have sex with the kids and basically have
- 48:32his way with a mom too in the basement. See
- 48:35now that would have been arsa sleep. People are like, oh,
- 48:39rub with their head, all the sweat off their heads. Okay,
- 48:44they have their their fucking lunch bell. Woa. Yeah, sorry,
- 48:51we're gonna have to ban this one because of the
- 48:52lack of pedophilia.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Nothing happened.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Okay, so this is a role. There has to be
- 48:57a pedophiles. So if if anything, this is the creative
- 49:00Now I'm going to give you make the mom a
- 49:02pedophile and make her indestructible and try to have the
- 49:05and try to have the main character burn her, but
- 49:07then she just has his way with him in the basement.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Thank you, Look what it's worth. For what it's worth,
- 49:13I like the indestructible pedophile.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Sorry, I have fun reading, but it's insane. Agree, not
- 49:19everything has to be that Yeah, no, no, no, I
- 49:22I just think it's such a that that rule and
- 49:25the reason for that, I guess that band is so
- 49:27absurd to think that like this kind of torment that
- 49:31the guy is going through is not enough when to me,
- 49:33I'm like, this is insane. Also too, it reads like
- 49:37in the parameters of their format, it reads like a
- 49:41post like it because also it's like, it makes no
- 49:43fucking sense for a guy to be like, yeah, I'm stabbed.
- 49:46How many times have we read something on noticed words
- 49:48like yeah, I've been shot eight times? It's like, can
- 49:50you imagine writing this to Reddit and you're getting shot
- 49:53or like you have eight bolts? Well, I'm bleeding out
- 49:56pretty bad, y'all the indestructible vampire pedophiles coming after me,
- 50:00and I feel pretty upset about it.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Yeah, there's so many that are completely ruined because it
- 50:06has to be like it's like the people can write
- 50:10interesting stories. It's like, Okay, now my character has to
- 50:13find a laptop and an upload.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Do you remember the what was the one story? Uh,
- 50:17the one about finding a boat in the middle of
- 50:19the ocean. I forget what it was my crew found
- 50:21in a band or whatever.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Yeah, cruise ship. Every single entry opened and closed with
- 50:30I got on my laptop and went to Reddit.
- 50:32Speaker 3: I'm now typing dumb that was.
- 50:34Speaker 1: I'm really tiredwhere else they get banned? You better you
- 50:38either do that or one of the ghost is a pedophiles.
- 50:47All right, mister fine ghost pedophile? Okay, good, you're safe now. Yeah.
- 50:53I don't know.
- 50:55Speaker 2: It's a shame because No Sleep is like probably the
- 50:58biggest fi like a fictional writing board on eighteen million
- 51:03followers in that Yeah, and to get seen and to
- 51:07have like, you know, notoriety as someone who's trying to
- 51:09get into the horror writing space, that's kind of the
- 51:11place you.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Have to go, you know.
- 51:14Speaker 1: So I'm not saying that I'm not saying it's complete.
- 51:17I'm not saying that it's not still a viable place
- 51:20to do that. I just think that, no, of course not.
- 51:23I'm just so it is the most viable place that
- 51:26is with also the roles. Also, I'm wondering too if
- 51:30it's very much like a if another mod would have
- 51:32seen it, if they're like, oh, this story's fine. If
- 51:34there's just like one power tripping mod who's like, yeah,
- 51:37not really, a lot happened, you know what I mean, Like,
- 51:39I wonder how subjective that that that system is for
- 51:44allowing stories on you know what I mean. M So yeah,
- 51:50I'm not sure. All I know is this is a
- 51:52great story. I really, I really like the length of it.
- 51:54It was nice and like like nice and quick, and
- 51:57I think it adds to this little collection. I'm curious. Yeah,
- 52:00the next story goes.
- 52:01Speaker 2: I will say this about the author that we just read,
- 52:04Dan boll Or Dean Bowl. Four months ago, he made
- 52:08a post in our slash creep cast absolutely swinging for
- 52:14us on the Legatti story. Like he posted he was
- 52:19like that was good and it should be appreciated, and
- 52:22then just like a reply after reply after reply, like
- 52:30one man on an island just swinging an nex.
- 52:34Speaker 1: He well, yeah, he probably has enough experience on fucking
- 52:36Reddit with all the people and having to fight those mods,
- 52:39you know, I mean, it is what it is, so no,
- 52:41I mean, but in all honesty, this was this was
- 52:43a lot of fun, you know the only thing that
- 52:45I guess, like, if I had any and it's not
- 52:46even really even a complaint, it's just the whole unhinged
- 52:49jaw thing. I feel like it's a bit okay.
- 52:52Speaker 2: So if I if I'm giving critiques to a story
- 52:54that I really like and I think it's cool, I
- 52:55feel like the unhitched jaw thing was a little.
- 52:58Speaker 1: It's just you didn't you have played a lot. Yeah,
- 53:02to me, it would have been. The door was great
- 53:03and the quiet movement was great. You didn't need the
- 53:05job maybe once, but not as like a recurrent thing,
- 53:08although it does kind of make it seem like an
- 53:10entity that's gonna eat.
- 53:11Speaker 3: You, like swallow.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't think you need that creepy. I
- 53:14don't think you need it. I don't think you need that.
- 53:16I think for something like this, to me, I think
- 53:19it's like you need to make the like the I mean,
- 53:22I say you need this is my opinion. I think
- 53:25it's effective if you don't have any of that stuff,
- 53:28but you keep challenging the norms of reality, like if
- 53:32he would have came home and his mom's shirt was
- 53:33on backwards or whatever, the mom looks totally normal, whatever,
- 53:38And it's a thing where now at the end you
- 53:39can make that even crazier, where it's like my mom
- 53:41was topless, she was just a brawl, like how weird
- 53:44is that? You know what I mean, like that that
- 53:46kind of stuff, And I think that you can get
- 53:48away from like Dunhein's jaw, which is just like I mean,
- 53:52I love, you know, dislocated jaws and rows of teeth
- 53:58and all that kind of stuff. But I think first
- 54:00story like this, where it's I mean it's purely like
- 54:03you're questioning if the person's insane or if you're questioning reality.
- 54:07I think keeping it as close to reality and really
- 54:10playing with that is going to have people have so
- 54:14many visceral different reactions to where I think that's where
- 54:17that conversation becomes more fun too. No, no, no, I
- 54:19think he's just to say no, it's this or that,
- 54:22you know, just I think like riding that line is
- 54:25really fun. And I think if they're dressed normally, it's
- 54:28or if they're totally normal, it's just so much creepier.
- 54:31Like I think about my mom doing that and then
- 54:33like feeling threatened by this thing that I that is
- 54:35completely normal but it's just slightly off. Is this uncanny
- 54:40valley that I think is really effective and fun. You know, Yeah,
- 54:47we are a very talented writer and this is a anger.
- 54:50I hate that got taken off, but please give all
- 54:52of yours to ours. We appreciate it. Also the dad,
- 54:56I wish I had a little more with the dad.
- 54:57I think that we could have the dad was It's cool.
- 55:00Speaker 2: I liked the the unblinking kind of looking forward.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Yeah they are. I like how The coolest part is
- 55:06how he moved silently at the end. That's terrifying to me.
- 55:08The scariest parts of the story were the.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Silent movement and in the car at the beginning, how
- 55:12the mom couldn't decide what facial expression she wanted to show.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Yeah, those freaked me ou. I'm trying to think if
- 55:17I had any other.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Critiques of it. I just th the Xbox we have
- 55:22maybe once too many.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I thought I thought that he was getting ready to
- 55:25get into sort of the gamer language or something like that.
- 55:27I was like, oh, watch out, Xbox. The uh No,
- 55:30the just that we got in a nice little conversation
- 55:34with him.
- 55:34Speaker 4: And the mom.
- 55:35Speaker 1: I just like, I just to have a little bit more,
- 55:38just because we have we put some emphasis on the
- 55:40dad as well. Because we put emphasis on the friends.
- 55:42He has a nice interaction with them. Wish there was
- 55:44just maybe one little interaction with the dad, a bit
- 55:47of him even just trying to talk to him, or
- 55:49if the dad just joined the mom at the end
- 55:51and was talking to him as well, why don't you
- 55:53let us soon? You know, they just just just to
- 55:55see it doesn't not necessary, But I.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Mean, it's really it was really great where it went.
- 56:00I really enjoyed it. And Dean, if that is your
- 56:03real name, please keep making these This is dope.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Also really and this is just me once again, I'm
- 56:09not trying to be rude or anything. Really try to
- 56:11hone in the idea of like really making this character
- 56:14die or being attacked by a super pedophile if you
- 56:18want to.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Actually yeah, So my criticism is maybe he could get
- 56:24molested perhaps or also just just hear me out, he
- 56:30or someone could explode. But he has to get injured
- 56:34in the explosion, so that way he's bleeding. But as
- 56:36he's exploding, he's typing out the story and then in
- 56:40the final sentences he says, wow, I sure, hope I
- 56:42don't explode, But then there's a dash at the end.
- 56:44It's hard for me as he hit post I'm actually
- 56:49getting explodes.
- 56:50Speaker 1: I'm getting fucking pissed because it's hard for me to
- 56:53know if a character has gone through something unless the
- 56:55character is on like let's say a go ship and
- 56:58then there's like fucking vampires hacking him and he gets hurt.
- 57:01And if the character doesn't say that he's hurt on
- 57:03the thing, how muchposed to know, you know. So it's just.
- 57:08Speaker 2: Maybe you could have like some clever foreshadowing, Like maybe
- 57:10in the beginning he could be like, Hey, I'm writing
- 57:12this story and my biggest fear is exploding. So then
- 57:15at the end of the story when he does explode,
- 57:17it's like, oh, that's what he was afraid of, And
- 57:20I guess it's a message about the things you're afraid
- 57:23of or what tend to find you. So maybe you
- 57:25could do that and it would actually be good. So
- 57:27you know, maybe you could try that.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Yeah, listen, I mean not everybody can have a home run.
- 57:31I mean this was definitely a bit of a strikeout.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Next time, you know, maybe maybe stop writing. Maybe stop
- 57:37writing if you.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Now I actually just quit right.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Maybe maybe if you're not ready to incorporate super pedophiles
- 57:44or exploding super pedophiles, you don't at some point, you
- 57:49don't have what it takes to work in this industry.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Okay, that's just that's just how it is.
- 57:53Speaker 2: So either either get some pedals in there, or you
- 57:56better start having people try to kill themselves, try to
- 57:59each other.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Then weil themselves.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Figured it out, figured it out.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Maybe have pedophiles get people to kill themselves through explosions
- 58:08and then at the end our character gets molested and
- 58:11then explodes.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Or you have a sheriff in the town and he's
- 58:15like a badass but also still pedophile, and he has
- 58:18a warehouse outside of town, and that's how the character
- 58:21would have done it. Maybe he's like, oh, yeah, people
- 58:23are people are looking at me. But then vice versa.
- 58:26He goes to the woods and finds a pedophilia warehouse,
- 58:29and that's kind of the idea. That's how, and that's how.
- 58:33Speaker 2: But then of course, but then of course he's a
- 58:34pedophile as well, so he's like, oh, this is great.
- 58:37Speaker 3: So he's happy with it.
- 58:38Speaker 2: But then it turns out that all the children that
- 58:42have been abductive or vampires, so it's like, I can't
- 58:44have these because I had to kill them.
- 58:47Speaker 3: Now now it's a threat.
- 58:48Speaker 2: Now it's scary because of that, and you could have
- 58:50there be a lot of blood and people dying, and
- 58:52then that would make it scary.
- 58:54Speaker 1: So thank you for these rules, Master, Thank you for
- 58:57these rules. Fuck sakes. Onto the next story, where we're
- 59:03reading a story called I've been flying for almost thirty
- 59:05hours and the flight attendants won't stop crying, which I
- 59:08just got to say, even reading that title gives me
- 59:11a panic attack. I don't mind. I don't I don't
- 59:14hate flying, but planes, I think, no matter what, even
- 59:18if people are I don't know, I don't mind flying
- 59:20a little scary. Right, you're just kind of in a
- 59:22death tube up in the sky. I think if I think.
- 59:25Speaker 2: About it too long, it because I fly all the time.
- 59:28But if I'm sitting there for a while and I'm like, huh,
- 59:31wrapping beneath my feet's nothing. If this was to crash
- 59:33right now, I'd have a really long time to think
- 59:35about it. Then it messes with me a little bit. Yeah,
- 59:38Like sometimes if we get a lot of turbulence, especially
- 59:40on takeoff, I get a little.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Yea, the butterflies for sure.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I've had some weird flying experiences where it's like, Okay,
- 59:50well this is it all right, Well, this is what
- 59:52dying feels like. But yeah, I feel like regardless of
- 59:56how much you do it, it's a little creepy for anyone.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: But today's story, actually we have a little treat.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: It's made by a writer called Worcester Street, which scrolling.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Through their reddit, I see that they are a fan of.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Creepcasts, or at least they've commented in our slash creep
- 1:00:11cast a couple times, and that they were very kind
- 1:00:15to show someone in the subreddit give them some advice
- 1:00:17about posting on No Sleep and story.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Writing so they seem like a cool person.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: They've written a bunch of stories for our slash and
- 1:00:23No Sleep, some of them highly rated, so we'll have
- 1:00:26them linked in the description. Be sure to show them
- 1:00:28some love if you enjoyed, and we certainly appreciate them
- 1:00:32being cool writing stuff and.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Then engaging with the community. It means a lot. But
- 1:00:36just because you're nice in our subreddit doesn't mean that
- 1:00:40we're going easy.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: On you work.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: But I will say also with the title, the one
- 1:00:45thing they say about flying is they say, if the
- 1:00:49people working in the plane aren't freaking out, you have
- 1:00:51nothing to worry about. So me seeing a flight intendant
- 1:00:55crying for thirty hours, which first off thirty hours is
- 1:00:59we were going through hell apparently. But if I saw
- 1:01:02a flight crying, I don't even know what. I have
- 1:01:06no idea what I would even be able to do, it.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Would be it would be rough. I was on a
- 1:01:11plane one time and we were flying. We had a
- 1:01:14connection in Atlanta, and as we're getting close to Atlanta,
- 1:01:17there was a storm that was apparently so bad they
- 1:01:20evacuated the tower in Atlanta. So we're on our flight
- 1:01:24and they're like, hey, guys, not landing at Atlanta, we
- 1:01:27have to go. We have to go to Charlotte because
- 1:01:29it's the only airport that will not Charlotte Charleston, South Carolina,
- 1:01:32because it's the only airport that will take us.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: And we can't stay up in the air because we
- 1:01:36don't have that much gas.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: So the whole way there, my wife and I were
- 1:01:40set at Kayla and I were sitting on the front
- 1:01:43row and people kept coming up to the flight attendants
- 1:01:46and being like, I've got I've got a flight out
- 1:01:48of Atlanta and we're gonna end up getting there after
- 1:01:51the flight leaves, and the flight attendants kept having to
- 1:01:54explain to these people what an airport is, and they
- 1:01:57would be like.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Ma'am, no one is leaving or going. The flight will
- 1:02:02not leave on you. It can't leave, like no, but
- 1:02:04it takes off in an hour. You're like, ma'am, I
- 1:02:07have no fly wait to talk. I can't deal with us.
- 1:02:11We're gonna die in this. I hope you realize we're
- 1:02:13gonna die by the time we get to South Carolina. Yeah,
- 1:02:15but there was one point where like it was this
- 1:02:21one woman too who kept coming back and asking stupid questions.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: And at one point she comes up there and she
- 1:02:28was like, I don't see why we're going to Charleston.
- 1:02:31That's not Atlanta. And the guy's like, okay, Atlanta is gone.
- 1:02:36We can't go there, and we can't be in the
- 1:02:38sky because we have to go to the ground. So
- 1:02:42we're gonna go to the ground over here and then
- 1:02:45we'll come back over there. And then she walks back.
- 1:02:48She like loudly stops back to her seat and she
- 1:02:50tells her husband, he said we have to drive to Orlando.
- 1:02:54The flight attendant looks at me and Kaylen goes, did
- 1:02:57I say that? Is that what I said? Did I
- 1:02:58say that?
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: My god?
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Man?
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I get yeah. I would love if they're like we
- 1:03:03are Atlanta's that option is gone. What happened to them?
- 1:03:06Where did it go? Why did they get rid of it?
- 1:03:10Who did it? Who hurt them?
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Well, Warren Chester Street, it is time, Isaiah. Are you
- 1:03:16ready at this time? I'm ready to get into it.
- 1:03:18Let us begin.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: As always, thank you to everyone who listens on audio platforms.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: Continue to show support.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: There means a lot.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: And of course our Patreon supporters love you guys the most.
- 1:03:27It's not that you are more important than everyone else
- 1:03:30who listens, but you are to me, your life matters more.
- 1:03:32So thank you for that.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: We have a little Q and a thing to day
- 1:03:35of asking some patrons about some of the new episode recording.
- 1:03:38So curious to see how that goes. So we'll seem
- 1:03:41because again, they matter to us more than the others.
- 1:03:45So my sweet sweet little angels. With that, let us begin.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: I've been flying for almost thirty hours. The flight attendants
- 1:03:54won't stop crying. Thirty hours ago, I hopped on a
- 1:03:57late night flight from New York head into Los Angeles.
- 1:04:00After boarding, I saw that I had an entire road
- 1:04:02to myself. Take Off passed without incident, and soon I
- 1:04:06was stretched out for a nap.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Across the road.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: I slept for a few hours. I don't know how long,
- 1:04:11but I slept for a few hours. I don't know
- 1:04:14how long, but it was a few hours. But I
- 1:04:17woke up to some severe turbulence. It's possible that the
- 1:04:20lights in the cabin went out for a moment, but
- 1:04:22I was so disoriented that it's hard to say.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I checked my phone to see.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: That it was four three am, which I figured gave
- 1:04:30me about an hour until we landed. When I looked
- 1:04:33out my window, I was shocked to see nothing but
- 1:04:35wide open ocean.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: My jaw dropped.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: There's obviously no ocean between New York and Los Angeles.
- 1:04:41I hit the button to call the flight attendant and
- 1:04:43spend the next few minutes racking my brain for a
- 1:04:46lake that could have been possibly big enough to explain
- 1:04:49what I was seeing. I jumped when the attendant flipped
- 1:04:52off the light. She was grinning from ear to ear,
- 1:04:54tears pouring down her cheeks.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: How can I help you, sir?
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I froze for a moment or to react, before deciding
- 1:05:01to just ask my question, where.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Are we Why does it look like we're flying over
- 1:05:05in an ocean? She wiped her cheeks to clear the tears,
- 1:05:08still grinning wildly, sir, we'll be landing in about an hour, okay,
- 1:05:14thank you.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: After she left, I'd check the clock on my phone again.
- 1:05:18Four oh three am blinks back at me. Had it changed? Okay?
- 1:05:22So hunter, h right now? Roleplay? What do you do
- 1:05:25in the scenario? You're the guy in the seat.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: So what can I start at the crying woman? Yeah? Sure?
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: So she's crying and then she comes up and says,
- 1:05:36we'll be landing in about an hour.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Who did this to you? What's wrong? Who did this?
- 1:05:42Who did this? I would get I'd make a big scene.
- 1:05:45Oh my god. I would say, oh my god, are
- 1:05:47you okay? Is it the pilot? So you're you're immediately
- 1:05:52white nighting off the get go anytime I can white night, Isaiah,
- 1:05:56I absolutely do it. I say, oh my god. Who okay?
- 1:05:59So then she was spawns and goes, what the what
- 1:06:01are you talking about? Sir? I'm fine, and I say,
- 1:06:05don't fucking play hey, Hi, don't play coy with me?
- 1:06:09All right? You're sitting here crying like my babbling brook
- 1:06:14my head.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: You're grabbing her face like you grab your cheeks.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: No, I don't I don't. I don't do that. But
- 1:06:18I say, I say, hey, oh sorry, I don't mean
- 1:06:22to raise my voice, but I say, you are obviously
- 1:06:25a woman in distress, and I need to know how
- 1:06:27I can help. Let me help you. And I say,
- 1:06:30and I say again, I'm like, don't make me fucking
- 1:06:32asking again. Isn't the fucking violin? Because it's the violin?
- 1:06:37You let me know, and I will go in there
- 1:06:38and I will break, is what I would say. I'm good.
- 1:06:43You're like, you know I'm gonna take over this plane.
- 1:06:45This is a hijack. And now I actually I've done
- 1:06:47flight simulator since I was thirteen years old. I could
- 1:06:50land this bird so easily. Okay, Pasha, Yeah, Tasha, you
- 1:06:56have a beautiful name. That's a beautiful name. Wasn't a violin?
- 1:07:00What's in the pilot? Is what he keeps saying like that.
- 1:07:03And there'd be a guy next to me looking at me.
- 1:07:05He's like, can I get a water? And I'm like, no,
- 1:07:08stop it. I'm like, oh, you don't have to. You
- 1:07:10don't have to take water from but what what animals?
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Well, if is a woman asking for a water, what
- 1:07:14would you.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Say, honestly, sweetheart, I appreciate you trying to keep you
- 1:07:18stay hydrated and stay mentally focused for this flight, but
- 1:07:21I need you to just give me and Tasha five minutes.
- 1:07:24Could you do that for me? Because if there's one
- 1:07:27thing I know about you, it's that you respect women,
- 1:07:29oh God, more than anything, up and down all over.
- 1:07:35And I would handle my pillow because you know they
- 1:07:36gave you the INFI fila. Of course I'd be like,
- 1:07:39I'd say please and honestly, and Tasha, this isn't against you,
- 1:07:43because honestly I know American Airlines, you didn't make the plane.
- 1:07:47I give the I give the woman next to me.
- 1:07:48Her name, Sabrina is a Sabrina. It's a beautiful name.
- 1:07:51First off, Sabrina. I just want to say, that's a
- 1:07:53beautiful name. Right. They take this pillow and which put
- 1:07:55them on your neck because you're not going to get
- 1:07:57any lumbar support, all right, once you have a beautiful
- 1:08:00restlessly because you're a beautiful princess, all right. And I say, Tasha,
- 1:08:04you tell me, you tell me right now if that
- 1:08:07fucking dog faced man the cockpit did this, did you?
- 1:08:11Did he do this to you? And that's how it
- 1:08:15handled the situation, right.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: You know, it's funny because a lot of you guys
- 1:08:19probably think he's joking or playing it up. I've never
- 1:08:22been on a flight with Hunter where he's acted normally.
- 1:08:26There's always some bit, there's always something.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Do you want to tell him about what you did
- 1:08:30on that flight to Tampa? What did I do on
- 1:08:33the flight to Tampa? Yeah, that one from Kansas City
- 1:08:36to Tampa. Do you remember that? I don't. I barely
- 1:08:40remember what happened yesterday. I don't remember we were this
- 1:08:42is when we were going to shoot the ghost hunting
- 1:08:45video we made with Charlie or Voice Critical. I remember
- 1:08:49going to Tampa. But what did I do on this flight? Well,
- 1:08:51we were going there. He had bought these like twenty.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Dollars crappy Amazon webcams to look like the old Zach Becken's,
- 1:09:01like ghost adventure stuff, so he decided to test them
- 1:09:04out on the plane by acting like he was in
- 1:09:08an abandoned building. So he's setting, he's setting in the chair,
- 1:09:15he's got the camera like this close to his face.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: And he's like, guys, I don't did you hear that?
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Guys? Guys? And he's like panicking and like sweating and
- 1:09:25in the background you can just see rows of people.
- 1:09:31Someone shifts in their sleet. He's like, did you hear that?
- 1:09:34Did you guys hear that? And Nick's filming him too
- 1:09:38and has an equally close camera up in his face.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Tell them what Tell them what.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Happened in the bathroom. Yeah, I was gonna say. The
- 1:09:47only thing I remember. Know that you say that, because
- 1:09:49I totally forgot we bought those cameras. I think I
- 1:09:51remember the bathroom is that I was recording myself in there,
- 1:09:53and I was pretending that I was like doing a
- 1:09:55ghosts and thing. Uh, And then I stood up and
- 1:09:57then I just like, just fill my ship in this
- 1:10:00like an airplane toilet. And I just kept looking in
- 1:10:03the mirror. It's it's a whole. It doesn't matter, you
- 1:10:06know what. I was being a little silly.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: He filled, he filled the toilet, and he was like
- 1:10:13and the way he had the crappy i R filter on,
- 1:10:16so everything was black and white. And he's spinning around
- 1:10:20in the bathroom like, guys, I don't know, guys, I
- 1:10:23think there's a ghost in here.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Spirits are you with us? And as he's spinning, you
- 1:10:27just pass the toilet that's full up, just keeps. There
- 1:10:34were four different bathrooms on that trip. He did that.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: I don't know how he was ready to go at
- 1:10:40everyone we came across.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I did forget. We did have a we did have
- 1:10:44a moment. There was a ship toilet in the ghostable thing.
- 1:10:46I totally forgot about that. Yeah, so it was I
- 1:10:50must have been backed there for a while. I was
- 1:10:52holding in some demons in.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: You, every one of them. I was like, this has
- 1:10:57to be the last one. Surely, I remember was always another.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: I just remember because we were I feel bad. I
- 1:11:05feel bad because I opened the door and there's nothing.
- 1:11:07But it's like kind of like whenever you're watching your
- 1:11:09dog take a shit. He looks at you and you
- 1:11:10can just tell he's ashamed or whatever. So I get
- 1:11:13out of the bathroom and just by like an unforeseeable
- 1:11:18wind guss this like horrid, wretched smell out of the bathroom.
- 1:11:23And the woman, the woman in the front row, what
- 1:11:26a rap in the bathroom? Just did good god? Yeah?
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Yeah, as well as the camera. He's like, are you
- 1:11:40with us? Spirit speak to us? Say something?
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Sorry, man, sorry, I had some batch of pote last night.
- 1:11:49Mm hmmm.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: He kept putting the camera in the floor to be like,
- 1:11:53I think I'm sensing something, And as the camera spins,
- 1:11:55you just he rows of feet and he's like, is
- 1:11:57that a person?
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: Does that look like a person? Back there? It's just
- 1:12:00a woman in shoes.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: So anyway, my point is him deciding to like white
- 1:12:06night over his stewardess asking if the pilot beat her.
- 1:12:09You know the pilot she met like five minutes ago
- 1:12:10when the flight began.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: That would be on part.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: That would be a bit he wouldn't have been so,
- 1:12:19so yeah, he's in the plane. Fund did its crying.
- 1:12:25I had to have been waiting with my callight on
- 1:12:27for at least five minutes. How is it possible that
- 1:12:29it hadn't changed at all? I opened up my laptop
- 1:12:32and saw it two displayed four oh three am. I
- 1:12:35pulled out my phone, started a stop watching the app.
- 1:12:38Spent the next two hours looking back and forth between
- 1:12:41the clocks, waiting for them to change. They never did.
- 1:12:44I tapped the shoulder of an older woman sitting in
- 1:12:46the row ahead of me. She looked back, an annoyed
- 1:12:49expression across her face.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Yes, do you know how long it we land? She
- 1:12:53narrowed her eyes. That flight didn't said it wouldn't be
- 1:12:56about an hour. Shook my head in confusion. That flight
- 1:13:00attendant we talked almost two hours ago. You should have
- 1:13:04landed already. She stared at me as if I was crazy.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: I was going to continue trying to convince her, but
- 1:13:10I felt a hand on my shoulder. I spun to
- 1:13:12see a male flight attendant grinning down at me, tears
- 1:13:15pining off his cheeks onto my shoulder.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Sir, I'm going to ask you to calm down, or
- 1:13:20I'll be calling the captain.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: I told him that wouldn't be necessary and sat back.
- 1:13:24He removed his hand and stepped away.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: I feel like he has been pretty amicable. I don't.
- 1:13:29I don't think he's really caused a fuss, has he? Sir?
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Sir, sir, I'm gonna get the taser. I'm gonna get
- 1:13:39the bite dog.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: It'd be different if she's like, the flight atten't sit
- 1:13:42in an hour from now, and he's like, I know, now,
- 1:13:45are you fucking crazy? Well, that's what that would elicit something.
- 1:13:51But I feel like him being like, oh, it's weird,
- 1:13:54Oh that's weird. We talked a couple hours ago. Don't
- 1:13:56really think and He's like, is there a problem? You
- 1:13:59got a problem here? Is this a problem? You wouldn't
- 1:14:02want this to be a problem, would you, sir? You
- 1:14:03won't want this to be a problem. Lo, we'll throw
- 1:14:05you out. We've done it before, sir, we can do
- 1:14:07it again. Sure.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: Flight attendts continue to stop.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: By every few hours, offering meals every few hours. Damn,
- 1:14:16continue to hick up and sitting there like Harry. Another
- 1:14:19two hours passed by? Hey? Any hour? Now?
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: At what point do you cause a problem?
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: At what point are you? Like?
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: You know what? I've got a gun. After she says
- 1:14:30the flight attendant said an hour? Looie landing? An hour?
- 1:14:34Is like from then?
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Or what?
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: How long until you cause a problem?
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Like that? Guy? Like the flight attendt came out. I
- 1:14:39was like, am I going to have to tell the captain? Like,
- 1:14:41at what point are you? Like?
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: You know what?
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: Yeah, tell the captain.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: When she said an hour from now, I would say
- 1:14:47thirty minutes after that.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: So before an hour's even pass exactly talk, I'd be
- 1:14:55doing the whole time.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Drop. I'd be rolling around, Oh god, what is this?
- 1:15:02What kind of magic show is this?
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: Be doing that?
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: So Hunter gets onto two hour flight.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: One hour into the two hour flight, he's making demands exactly.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: My stopwatch continued to tick up and is now telling
- 1:15:22me that I've been on this plane for more.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: Than thirty hours, And I explored all of coach, tried
- 1:15:27talking to some of the other passengers, but they've all
- 1:15:30told me that they're expecting to land in an hour.
- 1:15:32So around three hours ago, I tried getting into first class,
- 1:15:36made it past the curtain, but was escorted back by
- 1:15:38two grinning flight attendants.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: A grip of my arms were like iron, sir, the
- 1:15:43seabout light sign is on. Please remain in your seat
- 1:15:46with your buckle fashion. We'll be landing in about an hour.
- 1:15:51Oh pissed me off just about. I thought that, hold on,
- 1:15:54this is a woman speaking, or you're not going to
- 1:15:56be kind and respectful to them. Listen, you're a perfect angel,
- 1:16:00but you are releasing some kind of demon from me.
- 1:16:04Please don't make me go there is what I would say.
- 1:16:06I say, Please don't make me go there.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: Don't make me open up the cage, let the tiger.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Out to play. I'm unfurling my wings in darkness. We'll
- 1:16:18cast over this plane. Do you hear me? Not? If
- 1:16:21you hear it let her get shot to death by
- 1:16:25an Aaron Marshall.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: I'm just about giving up hope when a woman came
- 1:16:37down the aisle dressed in a business suit. She didn't
- 1:16:39look at me or slow down, but she dropped a
- 1:16:41piece of paper onto my tray. She made her way
- 1:16:44to the bathrooms at the back of the plane. I
- 1:16:46shot a look around before unrolling it.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: It said, are you stuck too? I pulled out a
- 1:16:52pen and wrote, yes, it's been thirty hours.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: I folded the scrap of paper up and set it
- 1:16:57on my tray closest to the eye. She left the
- 1:16:59bathroom and picked it up as she passed. It's been
- 1:17:02twenty minutes since then. I don't know why, but I
- 1:17:04don't think the flight attendants would like it if they
- 1:17:06knew we were talking. It doesn't matter. I have to
- 1:17:09do something. Update you all with whatever happens next in
- 1:17:13the four one. All right, so that's into part one.
- 1:17:15I just want to say this.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: I think he's dead. Right. If a person feels like
- 1:17:19it's probably gonna be like a purgatory meme or something
- 1:17:21like that. The uh, it's funny that she's like it
- 1:17:26drops like a note. I legitimately thought that with how
- 1:17:29childish I felt, that he was going to be like, yeah,
- 1:17:32I've been here thirty minutes and he makes an airplane
- 1:17:34out of he's like looking the paper and make an
- 1:17:35airplane that like throws it perfectly through first class into
- 1:17:38the bathroom.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: I think so far it's been fine.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: It hasn't. It's just been like I'm stuck on the flight.
- 1:17:45I don't know, yeah, right, I think I think.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: It feels good so far. I think it is kind
- 1:17:52of a creepy concept, the idea of being on a
- 1:17:53plane and it never lands.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Will you give me a movie about the girl gets
- 1:17:59on the plane and they can her her son never existed.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: I don't. I don't fucking know that. I've never heard
- 1:18:05of that movie. I feel like I feel like that's
- 1:18:10just gaslighting some random messenger that was sitting next to you.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: No, it's she gets on the plane and like her
- 1:18:18son disappears, like when he goes to the bathroom and
- 1:18:20she's like, hey, where's my kid? They're like, you never
- 1:18:22boarded the flight with a kid, and like the whole
- 1:18:24flight they try to convince her son's not real.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I can't remember how it ends. Can I pitch that, like,
- 1:18:28she's sure not to interrupt you, because I'm sure the
- 1:18:32movie's awesome. But I had an idea. I had a thought,
- 1:18:35is it scarier if you're not over the ocean, you're
- 1:18:39by the airport? Right? And every time he's been descending
- 1:18:43for thirty hours and they pull back up right soon
- 1:18:46asy getting ready land right near the ground, he pulls
- 1:18:48back up and they has to go back around. It's
- 1:18:50like a mental torture, right, she goes right now, and
- 1:18:53then after a while, the guy's like, what the fuck
- 1:18:55is going on? Why are we not landing? Sir? It's
- 1:18:58just an hour? Okay, just for us an hour. They're crying, right,
- 1:19:02what if? What if? It's like when he when they land,
- 1:19:05they're like, your asshole is going to explode out from
- 1:19:10your bottom. You're you'll have your asshole will prolapse, and
- 1:19:13you'll have shot out your organs to the point where
- 1:19:15there's people on the plane who are like, I don't
- 1:19:17give a fuck, I want to get off this plane,
- 1:19:20and other people are like, sir, think of his asshole.
- 1:19:22The man's going to die whatever, And now you have
- 1:19:26a moral becomes like a sacrifice thing exactly there he's like,
- 1:19:29I don't care.
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: Let my asshole become red cabbage and spill out all
- 1:19:33onto the floor. My gutty works he does that, or
- 1:19:36he's just like hold on, hold on, and then he
- 1:19:39goes and like people will start revolting, and like one
- 1:19:41of the passengers comes up to the pilot and he's
- 1:19:42just like, you.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Ran this fucking plane.
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: Or I'll put a bolt in the back of your head.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: He's like, how would you get that gun on this plane?
- 1:19:48God damn it? And he's like it's three D projected
- 1:19:52he has the back of his head like that would
- 1:19:54that be would that be a good hook? It would
- 1:19:58be something all right? Or it's just like as soon
- 1:20:01as they we there's a treaty. We live in a
- 1:20:05world where when every time a plane lands, someone on
- 1:20:09the path, someone or how about this, this is even better?
- 1:20:12The one in the the woman in the fucking zoot
- 1:20:14suit walking around dropping stuff, she's just like, we can't land.
- 1:20:18He's like what whatever, And then they keep coming up
- 1:20:21to him asking him, are you ready to land in
- 1:20:23six hours? Yeah, that's fine, I don't care. Another hour passes,
- 1:20:27are you are you sure you're ready to land in
- 1:20:29five hours? Sir, are you sure, Yeah, that's totally fine.
- 1:20:32The zoot suit one walks by, Please don't let us land.
- 1:20:35He's like, what the fuck is happening? Four hour whatever?
- 1:20:39But like three hours comes by by three and he's
- 1:20:41just like, can I ask why you keep asking me that.
- 1:20:43She's like, oh, well, you're you're in the seat. Where
- 1:20:46as soon as we as soon as we land, you
- 1:20:48have to eat a baby. To eat this baby on
- 1:20:50the plane, and he's like, excuse me, excuse me. He's
- 1:20:57like that woman in the zoot suit back there, addressed
- 1:20:59like Sindbad from nineteen ninety two. She we've taken her baby,
- 1:21:03We've wrapped her in tenfoil, and they're like, we're getting
- 1:21:05ready to put them in an air fryer, and you
- 1:21:07have to eat the whole thing before people can get off.
- 1:21:09Now there's a guy next week. She's like, dude, seriously, man,
- 1:21:11I appreciate you taking this one for the team. Try
- 1:21:15to tell me that's not a good one. I'm not
- 1:21:16gonna eat a baby. Wait, what the fuck? Thank you?
- 1:21:19They have the fly background woo whatever, and now he's like,
- 1:21:22we're gonna run out of gas. The airplane. The captain
- 1:21:24comes by listen. I had eat a baby two years
- 1:21:27ago and I didn't like it. He said, to do
- 1:21:29it once.
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: No one will ask you to do it again.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: But if you don't do we're gonna run out of
- 1:21:34gas and we're going to crash. We're going to die.
- 1:21:36Do you understand me?
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: So this is like a metaphor for like the healthcare
- 1:21:42system or something.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: It could be. It could be, or it could just
- 1:21:45be a thing about people. I guess mandating that you
- 1:21:48have to eat a child every time that you land
- 1:21:50a plane, that would you know what I would say
- 1:21:52if society did that, that would be bad. I'll agree.
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I'm glad you said it because I wanted to say too,
- 1:21:58but I was afraid. But it is wrong, right right?
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: Okay, So I've been I've been reading about the plot
- 1:22:06of this movie I remembered.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Okay, like, I'm so glad I did. All right.
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: So it's a movie called Flight Plan, starring Jodie Foster,
- 1:22:14and I was wrong about being a son.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: It's her daughter, she goes.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: So, her husband just died in Berlin, and she's flying
- 1:22:22back to the United States to bury him with her
- 1:22:24six year old daughter. And then her daughter disappears, and
- 1:22:27everyone tries to convince her her daughter's not real, okay,
- 1:22:30And then I'm reading through the summary and it says
- 1:22:33at one point she accuses two Arab passengers of stalking
- 1:22:39her daughter the night before, resulting in a fight and
- 1:22:43her being handcuffed. So she gets handcuffed. She gets convinced
- 1:22:47somehow in the midst of this that her husband. Everyone
- 1:22:50told her her husband killed himself by jumping off the building,
- 1:22:52but she gets convinced it was a murder, so she
- 1:22:54goes into the cargo bay and checks his body, and
- 1:22:58it says she removes or no sorry. An agent goes
- 1:23:03down to checks his body to find that his body
- 1:23:05has been rigged with explosives and a detonator, of course,
- 1:23:11and it's revealed that the killer and the mortuary conspired
- 1:23:18to hijack the aircraft for a fifty million dollar ransom
- 1:23:22and framed this woman that's the hijacker, so they abducted
- 1:23:27her six year old daughter to conver to coerce her
- 1:23:32into going along with it.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: I guess I'm going to have to watch Flight Plan
- 1:23:37almost immediately because the terrorist movie Jody Foster becoming a
- 1:23:42terrorist in this and like somebody gas. It could also
- 1:23:45be equally as terrifying, as if all that's happened, like
- 1:23:47if imagine a movie where's a mom and a mom
- 1:23:50and daughter get on the plane right and then all
- 1:23:53of a sudden, a soon as you sit down, the
- 1:23:54mom just pretends she doesn't know you. M you know
- 1:23:58what I mean? Sitting there, she's I don't know who
- 1:24:00this is? Mom? Stop? Can I can I be moved?
- 1:24:04This gross little girl is trying to talk to me
- 1:24:06during the flight. I am going to like, I am
- 1:24:09going to like you do that to a daughter anyway.
- 1:24:11I feel like you do that to your daughter anyway.
- 1:24:16Skipped ahead of the flight plan. Oh she is.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: I thought you weren't telling the internet about her? I okay,
- 1:24:23uh So later on, I'm just skipping ahead in the
- 1:24:28plot a little bit. At one point she agrees to
- 1:24:30hijack the plane, and she's holding the pilot at gunpoint
- 1:24:33for some reason, and there.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: There's a lot of killing.
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: At one point, she detonates the explosives on the plane
- 1:24:42was flying that's what it looks like, believing that neither
- 1:24:47the passengers nor the crew would even notice. Kyle escapes
- 1:24:50with Julia and the aircraft's noncombustible hold. As Carson shoots
- 1:24:54at her, she detonates the explosives, killing him and damaging
- 1:24:57a landing gear, and everyone realizes she was telling the truth.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: What truth, that her daughter exists. This little girl is
- 1:25:07my daughter? Okay, alright? Part two? That Part two. Yeah,
- 1:25:16I've been flying for almost thirty hours. Part two.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: A few hours after the business woman picked up her
- 1:25:21piece of paper with my message, she came back down
- 1:25:23the aisle and set in the seat beside me.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: She bent over, trying to stay low.
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: So you're stuck too.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: I kept my voice low. Yeah, my name's Jack. By
- 1:25:33the way, the Saint. Nice to meet you, but she nodded,
- 1:25:38I'm Mary.
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: You're wrong.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Getting your message was by far the best thing about
- 1:25:43the past day. I spent the last day and a
- 1:25:45half thinking I was alone in this.
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: She paused for a moment, looking up the aisle. When
- 1:25:49she spoke again, her voice was a whisper.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: So, Jack, you have any theories on what the hell's
- 1:25:55going on?
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: I considered lying, but decided the truth was for the best.
- 1:26:00I think we might be dead.
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: Imagine, imagine you're in this scenario. And then you asked
- 1:26:08the one other guy for help, and he's like, I
- 1:26:09think we're dead.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: It's like, Okay, the guy, the guy reciprocating the the
- 1:26:15junior high note passing, I think is going to be
- 1:26:18very nonchalant about this is how I'm reading. I think
- 1:26:22we're dead. I think we're I think we might be dead.
- 1:26:24I think we're dead and we're ghost right now. We
- 1:26:28can be ghost girlfriend boyfriend and you can be ghost
- 1:26:31together and you're like that, Mary, Mary, Mary's sugar. Maybe
- 1:26:42if we're just me or just you, if this is
- 1:26:45some cosmic train to hell, would there be two of
- 1:26:47us who realize what's going on? Trains can't hold more
- 1:26:51than one passenger.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Trains, Yeah, famously, trains have one person in them. None else,
- 1:26:57no idea, I don't know. Mary pulled out her phone
- 1:27:00and handed it to me. It displayed the Wikipedia article
- 1:27:02for flight image three seventy. Oh that's the Malaysian one
- 1:27:06that disappeared, the airline that disappeared in twenty fourteen. Okay,
- 1:27:09will you I read through the article carefully. There were
- 1:27:12dozens of theories trying to explain what happened. It ranged
- 1:27:14from hypoxia to suicide to aliens.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: Mary, how are you still using a sidekick phone? Is
- 1:27:23that what it said? Can you imagine this?
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: It's just pulled out her phone? How are you just
- 1:27:31asking completely unimportant?
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Mary? How are you having an LG chocolate phone from
- 1:27:40two thousand and seven? How is that possible? Mary? That's
- 1:27:43so cool, Mary, Thank you for showing me this. Mary
- 1:27:46doesn't tell us much, not much other than that this
- 1:27:49may have happened before. How about you? Any theories? Is
- 1:27:53why anyone else can't see what's going on?
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: We talked it over and realized one thing we had
- 1:27:57in common was that we were both fast asleep four
- 1:28:00or three a m.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: There's no way we were the only ones sleep at
- 1:28:04that time, though maybe everyone else was just napping. I
- 1:28:08don't know about you, but but I was well and
- 1:28:10truly asleep. I was sunked out. I was gone. I
- 1:28:17hit the Zaza before the flight, and my ass was
- 1:28:19my my goovy. I was totally busted out down the
- 1:28:22snooze train. That's so cool, Mary, Mary, awesome, You're great.
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: Mary.
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: She takes out a tech nake I imagine she's using.
- 1:28:32She has a tag deck out. By this entire time
- 1:28:34when she's talking, she keeps dropping on the floor damn
- 1:28:38it flips. That's pretty, that's awesome. I've never seen anyone,
- 1:28:45anyone do a jack mountain.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: Before I saw that male flight attendant. Is he bothering you?
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Is that guy bothering you? Mary? She's like she's a
- 1:28:53grinding on a one of those like, uh, those cookies
- 1:28:56that you get, the half pipe things.
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: Yeah, she's she's on the biskoff cookie.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: Yeah, she's uh, she's grinding on the bisc cough cookie,
- 1:29:06singing sca songs to herself. Here I am everything, can
- 1:29:12m Mary? Are you singing Superman by Goldfinger? Ah? You
- 1:29:22know that song? Yeah? You're you maybe the coolest girl
- 1:29:26I've ever seen. I would hope the story ends with
- 1:29:31both of them dying in a plane. Yeah. Here I
- 1:29:34am doing it pretending he was Superman. Oh.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: The cabin lights flicked off and a dozen ready emergency
- 1:29:51lights and the floor flicked on, casting the cabin in
- 1:29:54a red globe.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Bit or Calm crackles alive, saying passengers please.
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: Return to your seats. They see both side us fastened.
- 1:30:03We may experience some turbulence. We'll be landing in about
- 1:30:05an hour.
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: Mary Froz, Should I go back? Maybe they won't notice
- 1:30:11if you're gone. But maybe they already know and they
- 1:30:13just trying to separate us. Mary nodded, we should stay together.
- 1:30:17That's a better idea. Intercom crackled again.
- 1:30:21Speaker 4: Oh, ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce the
- 1:30:24arrival of the Captain. We'll all be given the opportunity
- 1:30:27to speak with him. Please remain in your seats until
- 1:30:29he calls you. I mean your assistants. Don't worry a
- 1:30:32flight that it will be happily, will happily help you
- 1:30:35on your way.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: That's creepy.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: I like that the captains arrived. The idea of someone
- 1:30:40arriving mid flight, it's pretty good.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: If you pass my god, did you hear that? Mary? No?
- 1:30:47Sorry I was I was messing with this tech deck.
- 1:30:50What did he say? Nothing, No worry about they look
- 1:30:53down the road. It's just Captain America like Chris Evans,
- 1:31:01whoa Mary, get off that mongoose bike with those sick
- 1:31:06pegs and we should talk about this.
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: Yeah, he's like really stoked about it. He's like, I
- 1:31:11love Avengers. That's awesome.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: She's like the only Captain I know is Sean White.
- 1:31:19She's like a big BMX person or something, You're like,
- 1:31:22what Rishana's just she's wearing all like the old bird.
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: All the.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: Sounds of passengers get into their feet echoed from further
- 1:31:39up in the plane, sat in silence, trying to get
- 1:31:42a look through the curtain separated us from first class.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: The captain no idea, but didn't sound like they were
- 1:31:49talking about a pilot to me, did they Nope.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: That's when a pungent sulfur smell hit us. So okay,
- 1:31:56so it's the devil. The devil's walking around the first class.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: That's what.
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: A pungent sulfur smell hit us, so strong that I
- 1:32:02had to resist the urged gag. He reminded me if
- 1:32:05the worst rotting eggs I'd ever smelled to my life.
- 1:32:08But the old woman said it ahead of us, didn't react.
- 1:32:11She just kept watching a movie on the back of
- 1:32:12her seat.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: Oh cough.
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: We fought it for a few long seconds before giving in,
- 1:32:17coughing hard and violently. A second later, the curtain opened,
- 1:32:21Mary and I froze steering down the now red fuselage.
- 1:32:25Four flight attendants passed through the curtain. It made their
- 1:32:27way down the rows towards us. Grin stretched wide across
- 1:32:30their faces. They were still crying. This time, the tears
- 1:32:34streaking their face were darker. It's hard to stay with
- 1:32:36the lighting, but it looked like blood. My eyes weren't
- 1:32:39drawn to them, though I looked over their shoulders at
- 1:32:41the figures. Standing near the front of the plane. There
- 1:32:44was a black silhouette standing by side the cockpit door.
- 1:32:47It was least eight feet tall, pointing towards us with
- 1:32:50a single finger, and it called us the bathrooms. We
- 1:32:54ran towards the back of the plane, the flight attendants
- 1:32:56closing in behind us. Blood dripped from their grinning cheeks
- 1:32:59onto the carpet to the plane.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: The captain is here, he said in.
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: A perfect customer service voice, screamed widen as he moved
- 1:33:06towards us. We made it to the bathrooms, jumping into
- 1:33:09opposite sides. I slammed the door shut and locked it,
- 1:33:12pressing my feet against the folding center part.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Of the door to keep it closed.
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: It began banging on the door and pulling at the
- 1:33:17handle while I fought to keep it closed.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but you'll both need to speak with the captain.
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: One of the flight attendants said. A distinct snapping sound
- 1:33:29like breaking metal came from her bathroom. She continued to
- 1:33:32scream as the sounds of struggle migrated up towards the
- 1:33:34front of the plane, towards the black figure I'd seen.
- 1:33:37I like to say I jumped out and fought them,
- 1:33:39that had distracted them, or I did something heroic.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: I did it.
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: She was carried away and a few short seconds later
- 1:33:45her screaming was cut off. That was a few hours ago,
- 1:33:48and I'm still locked inside the bathroom. We keep trying
- 1:33:51not to think of what they've done with her. The
- 1:33:53thing at the front of the plane didn't seem human.
- 1:33:56I hope, what are you laughing about?
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: This is just kind of funny. The thing in the
- 1:34:02front of the plane didn't seem human. The eight foot
- 1:34:05tall black figure wasn't a human. Okay, that was the
- 1:34:11thing that boarded the flight mid mid mid thirty hour
- 1:34:16flight and air Yeah, it's weird, okay.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: I hope it didn't kill her, not after she was
- 1:34:22shouting for my help like that. I didn't take that. Oh,
- 1:34:26what's so funny? Go ahead, I just like Jesus, she's
- 1:34:31not dead. Her screaming like that and me standing in
- 1:34:34his bathroom ship in my pants. I feel bummed about that.
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny. He's like, Man, if she's dead, I'm
- 1:34:42gonna be sad. That'll be bad for me if she
- 1:34:45died like that.
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: I haven't heard any movement outside in a few hours,
- 1:34:50but I'm terrified to open the door. I'm far from
- 1:34:53the seat outlets and my phone's almost dead and I
- 1:34:55haven't eaten them way too long. If I go out there,
- 1:34:58flight attendants, remember what if that thing is still waiting
- 1:35:01for people. I don't have much time to make a decision,
- 1:35:04but I'll update you all here with what happens next
- 1:35:07end of part two.
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: I think the story so far needs more meat on
- 1:35:12its bones. Things are happening too quickly. Like the whole
- 1:35:15idea of having a line that says, have a character
- 1:35:18saying don't cough, and then the next line is we
- 1:35:20try to hold it in, but we coughed seems a bit. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:35:25it's like you can just go to the other part.
- 1:35:28I also wanted more time with having the flight intense,
- 1:35:31you know, being like we've had them be you know,
- 1:35:33creepy and they're smiling and crying and stuff. I like that,
- 1:35:36you know, I like the hook the flight tens won't
- 1:35:39stop crying and stuff. Yeah, I want, I want more.
- 1:35:41We're on the last part, part three.
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I want.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I want to have a bit more going on.
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: I feel like stuff happens really quickly, like this girl's
- 1:35:52here than she dies. But it's also just, you know,
- 1:35:57it's a really short story. You know, maybe they just
- 1:35:59want to write a really short story, get like the
- 1:36:01main horror element across rather than a lot of the
- 1:36:04fluff to it.
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: More kind of like a goosebumps thing, you know, like
- 1:36:07a super short little here's what happened. So I can't
- 1:36:11fault that. I think it's a good premise. I think
- 1:36:13you could do more with it. Part three, after another
- 1:36:17dozen hours or so, dozen hours he's been, he's been,
- 1:36:23He's been on this plane for like fifty hours. I
- 1:36:24just want to say that, yes, yeah, several days. At
- 1:36:27this point, At what point are you like, you know, what?
- 1:36:29Take me just exactly? What am I going to do?
- 1:36:33Live on a plane forever? Fuck this?
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll live back here and hide in this bathroom.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: That'll be a good way to not die, because I
- 1:36:39guess you can't die if you're already dead. What do
- 1:36:43you do? Hunter? You're setting you're setting back there and
- 1:36:45you look in their slight attendants and there's the devil
- 1:36:48in a black robe at the front of the plane.
- 1:36:52I'd probably say, goofed up, you just what you're just like?
- 1:36:59Or I I flew to uh I flew to Japan
- 1:37:05and that was like a thirteen hour flight. The thought
- 1:37:08of being on an airplane for thirty seven more hours,
- 1:37:12like I would I would just open that, I would
- 1:37:14open the latch and I would jump. That's what. Also,
- 1:37:19what am I gonna I mean, like, am I gonna hide?
- 1:37:23Do you think you're hiding on a plane? There's a funk.
- 1:37:25You're in the back bathroom. You're not hiding through anything
- 1:37:29the door. The whole idea of the guy'd be like,
- 1:37:32would they remember me? Yeah? They probably fucking would they've
- 1:37:36seen you here the hours they know where the bathroom, Yeah, exactly.
- 1:37:41The woman screamed your name as they pulled her through
- 1:37:44to give you to the devil. I wonder if they
- 1:37:46remember that right here? Yeah, not wrong. I don't know, no,
- 1:37:55I mean, I mean, yeah, there's not really I don't.
- 1:37:58I don't know what else he can do in the situation, though,
- 1:38:01other than die or just stay there. Right, die die? Okay,
- 1:38:05all right, well you know fair enough.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: The lights in the cabin were back to normal and
- 1:38:09I couldn't smell any sulfur. I cautiously made my way
- 1:38:12back to my seat and almost cried when the grinning,
- 1:38:14crying flight attendant came by offering a meal. Grappy airline
- 1:38:18food was the most delicious thing I'd ever eaten. When
- 1:38:21I'd finished, my mind immediately turned a maor what had
- 1:38:24happened to her?
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: He wait until he got done eating to think about her,
- 1:38:28he'd have his insight meal. Oh wait, hoh fuck? Wait?
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: What happened that girl that died? Girl that tried?
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: Oh no.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: I crept down the aisle towards first class, trying to
- 1:38:38keep a low profile. So bro, it's an aisle, it's
- 1:38:42a plane, all you can't only be so low profile. Surprisingly,
- 1:38:47the flight attendants were nowhere to be seen. That almost
- 1:38:49seemed to ignore me, almost as if they wanted me
- 1:38:52to find her. She had rode to herself and was
- 1:38:54staring down at her phone in the window seat. I
- 1:38:56slid into the aisle and shook her arm. Mary pulled
- 1:39:00out her headphones and stared at me with a surprised expression.
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: Yeah, what's going on? Are you okay? What did that
- 1:39:07thing do to you? What did they do to you?
- 1:39:11I'm sorry? Remind me how I know you? But what
- 1:39:14do you mean? We just I realized, sinking horror that
- 1:39:17she had no idea who I was. Bought back tears, Mary,
- 1:39:20how long have you been on this fight? She checked
- 1:39:23the watch on her wrist. That's four or three am,
- 1:39:26so a few hours at least. She stared at me
- 1:39:29the same way you look at a person claiming they
- 1:39:31were the second coming of Christ. Her tone was low
- 1:39:34and reassuring, Hey, don't worry too much. Look on the
- 1:39:38bright side. We'll be landing in about an hour. I
- 1:39:41felt an iron grip on my arm and looked up
- 1:39:43to see two flight attendants, Sir, this area is for
- 1:39:47first class passengers only.
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: They were still crying at Grinnin, but just tears this time.
- 1:39:53I could still see streaks of blood standing in the
- 1:39:55front of their uniforms, though I was I escorted back
- 1:39:58to my seat, where I spent the next several days.
- 1:40:00Tendants continue to stop by with food. I would use
- 1:40:03the bathroom, and soon was going absolutely crazy with the
- 1:40:05monotony retrospect.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: Those few days weren't so bad.
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: There's a lot of content on the internet, after all,
- 1:40:11even with the crappy plane WiFi. No, it didn't get
- 1:40:15really bad until around ten days later when the Wi
- 1:40:17Fi failed. I got the Wi Fi failing?
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Is him like, all right, it's time for this to
- 1:40:24be over. No Wi Fi?
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: Kill me with a gun.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: I went to die. It was sometime a week later
- 1:40:30than dude, a week for weeks at this. Imagine sitting
- 1:40:35in the same and that's torture. Fucking torture.
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: Yeah, sometime a week later that I lost control and
- 1:40:40began screaming for a flight attendant.
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: It took him that long.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: That is longer than it would take you to break me.
- 1:40:47They didn't come for several minutes, but eventually one did.
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: Just let me see the captain.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: The flight attendant bent low and spoke with the same
- 1:40:54customer service voice.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: I'm sorry, sir, the captain has made his decision regarding
- 1:41:00you quite clear, do an interest call, and will therefore
- 1:41:04wait how long? Quite a while, I'm afraid. Don't worry, though, sir.
- 1:41:08We'll be landing in about an hour.
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: She's straight and walked away. That's funny. It's like the
- 1:41:14devil was up there, like, oh, I just need to
- 1:41:15punch your tickets. You can, like, you know, not go
- 1:41:17to hell.
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it kind of makes it seem like
- 1:41:20this time leave, you know. That's what he gets. That's
- 1:41:23what he gets. We're not walking up.
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: He has to be in plain time prison forever.
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: Let it out. Nope, sorry, sir.
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: Back in the fuselage, I started making notches on various
- 1:41:45parts of the seatback to keep track of different things.
- 1:41:48One notch for each time I use the bathroom, one
- 1:41:50for each meal, one for every time I watched a
- 1:41:52given movie.
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: That sort of thing.
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: It was hell, I watched every movie in the seatback
- 1:41:57a dozen times over. If I ever acted out badly enough,
- 1:41:59I'd be escorted back.
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: To my seat by one or more flight attendants.
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Any attempted conversation with other passengers was met with confusion
- 1:42:07by them, followed by a quick escort back to my seat.
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: I'd guess it was on or around day thirty that
- 1:42:12oh my gosh, you know, okay, so this is actually cooler,
- 1:42:18Like I like, the idea of the horror isn't Oh
- 1:42:21there's something creepy in the plane. It's like the he's
- 1:42:25in here forever, like he's stuck in the same plane
- 1:42:27over and over.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: I guess it was around day thirty that, in a
- 1:42:30moment of panic and psychosis, I broke my laptop and phone,
- 1:42:34screaming at the top of my lungs. No one around
- 1:42:36me reacted in any way. Two months later I stunk,
- 1:42:40muscles in my legs were tight and cramped constantly. I
- 1:42:43finally concluded that suicide was my only option for my
- 1:42:46one hundred and twenty eight.
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: To three watch of Thor Ragnarok.
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: Actually, it's a pretty good it's a pretty good solution
- 1:42:52to come to it for watching that movie very much.
- 1:42:54I think it's funny because I made the Captain America
- 1:42:56joke earlier.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: And now he's yeah, unintentional bear trap, always fun to
- 1:43:00have have. I got to my feet and limped towards
- 1:43:04the emergency. Oh wait, I've got I have a soundboard
- 1:43:07now with this new setup. Oh good, let me see
- 1:43:09you give me one hold on, let me hit a
- 1:43:12very professional I don't know.
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: I don't think you can hear it because it's just
- 1:43:16an obs but I've got like the trombone.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: That's pretty good. I'm sure it sounds good to them.
- 1:43:24I've got an airhorn.
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: I hope you like that.
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: It's still going. What I got crickets? I got applause.
- 1:43:32This is great because I can hit you with these
- 1:43:33without you knowing it. I've got chimes.
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: Oh, I've got a rim shot.
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: Yeah, there we go. Excellent. So a monster?
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: What's that sound like?
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: Oh? This screw and this one that sounds like a
- 1:43:55small Now I can pitch my voice up whatever that means.
- 1:44:00Does it sound good? Everyone just think this is uh
- 1:44:10engine cares? Yeah, that was a good That was a
- 1:44:13good side side step in the middle of the episode
- 1:44:17for no reason. What were you about to say? You
- 1:44:22think what? Oh? Nothing?
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: I got to my feet and limped towards the emergency exit.
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: I knew normally the pressure inside the airplane forced the
- 1:44:30doors closed, but I figured that nothing about my situation
- 1:44:33was normal. If this didn't work, I'd find some other
- 1:44:36more painful way to go. Grabbed at the handle and
- 1:44:39swung it up. To my shock, the door opened easily,
- 1:44:42though no wind of any kind looked around. The cabin
- 1:44:45made the standard slightly too cold temperature that it had
- 1:44:48been for the past.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: Who knew how long?
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Hunter realistically, you should kill yourself after two days, right,
- 1:44:55That's what I mean.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: If you think about that's what I need to do.
- 1:44:58He has the men full fortitude of like I mean
- 1:45:02I trained for. I mean, like, really think about being
- 1:45:04on a plane for I mean two days is probably
- 1:45:07I mean, like it's a long time. But I think, honestly, around.
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: The crying flight attendants and no one's like acting like
- 1:45:16it's weird, and they keep saying an hour, I feel
- 1:45:19like you would think something was going on, right.
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: Well, it would. It would just be so comfortable. It
- 1:45:22would be so uncomfortable. That's why I'm like, like, I
- 1:45:25think your muscles would start fucking up way before two months.
- 1:45:27Like I think, like you, being you would your legs
- 1:45:30would probably get all locked up and ship.
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I suppose.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: I feel like i'd kill myself a lot sooner.
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: Oh, trust me, I mean I would immediately. I'm just
- 1:45:39saying for I think people could probably handle it for
- 1:45:42a bit. Yeah, we've established you would halfway through the
- 1:45:46predesignated flight time. Yeah, I would be already be diving
- 1:45:50for that fucking door. They have to be holding you
- 1:45:55back in the air exactly They're like, they're like no, sure, no,
- 1:45:58And I'm like, that's gonna be doing the whole time.
- 1:46:01Let me go, Let me go to God.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: The open door called to me, a black portal out
- 1:46:08of the plane. I stared at it for a long moment,
- 1:46:10almost too long. On attendant's hand grabbed my shoulder, pulling
- 1:46:14me away. A fit of anger and strength that surprised me.
- 1:46:17I rinched away and jumped out of the plane, the
- 1:46:20wind whipping past my face almost magical, a new sensation
- 1:46:24after so many months saying. The ocean below me grew closer, larger,
- 1:46:29and I realized it. Suddenly I didn't want to die
- 1:46:31after all great time. It grew larger and larger and larger,
- 1:46:35until it seemed that all I could see was darkness
- 1:46:38and waves. I impacted the surface of the water so fast,
- 1:46:42hard that my entire body cherked around in the seat,
- 1:46:45pulled my hand back, sucking at my bruised knuckle.
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: I'd hit it on the scene in front of me. No,
- 1:46:50I whispered, then shouted, no, no, no no.
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: A flight attendant ran down the aisle, kneeling beside me.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: Are you okay, sir?
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: I clinched my hands and a fist, almost swinging at her.
- 1:47:01But then I realized she wasn't grinning, she wasn't crying.
- 1:47:06Be honest, she looked a little scared of me. Reached
- 1:47:08my right hand down to my pocket, where I could
- 1:47:10feel my now unbroken phone or four.
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: Am, sir, if you can calm down, we'll be landing
- 1:47:17in about an hour. My mouth tasted like ash. Thank you,
- 1:47:22I will stared.
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: I'm blinking at my phone, now displayed four five am.
- 1:47:29Then I looked out my window and began to cry
- 1:47:30at the side of city lights below me.
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: We did land in about an hour.
- 1:47:34Speaker 2: Can't even begin to explain why or how, but I'm
- 1:47:36currently sitting in an airport cafe typing this out.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: I'm free, I'm out, and I'm never going flying again.
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: The end, well, there's an edit at the end that says,
- 1:47:45I sure hope the bartender here at the airport just
- 1:47:47has a naturally wide grin.
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: But that was an edit, so it doesn't count. So
- 1:47:52the end, well, someone said thirty hours Kanye reference, that's.
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: The uh say this never saw this coming? Well you're
- 1:48:06not alone, like, thank you, that's a good takeaway.
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: Uh, that's there's that's the story. What, you're not a fan.
- 1:48:20It's not your fake you know. Here's I guess I'll
- 1:48:23say this. I guess I'll say that the idea is interesting,
- 1:48:27although I don't know, I mean, the plain purgatory thing.
- 1:48:31And then also there's just a bunch of I guess,
- 1:48:34snooty little complaints I have. I feel like maybe aren't
- 1:48:37even beneficial. But it just as always with a lot
- 1:48:40of these things that are just they go by so quick,
- 1:48:43is that you just need a bit more time with
- 1:48:45the characters. Like I don't really think I even give
- 1:48:47a fuck about the main character or Mary or anything. Like,
- 1:48:51there's nothing that really grounded me to them to maybe,
- 1:48:54like you know, I could, I could be sympathetic to
- 1:48:56a situation of like, yeah, being on this plane would suck,
- 1:48:58but like really being in vested into the character, you know,
- 1:49:02is such an important part of writing and the storytelling
- 1:49:07that like you can have the creepy, weird, like smiling attendance,
- 1:49:13but like I just I just wish there was more
- 1:49:16more of everything. Also, everything was just kind of like
- 1:49:19don't It's just it seems like this this story seems
- 1:49:22like it was kind of just a bit of an afterthought,
- 1:49:24like it just seemed like somebody who was just like,
- 1:49:26I'm gonna write this my free time, like or on
- 1:49:28my break, my lunch break. I'm gonna write on my
- 1:49:30lunch break at work, I feel, which is fine.
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: I mean, why not, right, I've posted stuff like that before.
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: I feel like the time should have been spent on
- 1:49:39the several months rather than the months coming at the
- 1:49:41end of.
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: The third part.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: I think that was more interesting.
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: I think it's a cool concept. It seems to me.
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: The idea at the end is like, you've got to escape,
- 1:49:49you have to like want to be out. So him
- 1:49:52jumping down the planes kind of like him saying he's leaving.
- 1:49:56You could interpret it as the whole it's all just
- 1:49:58a dream thing, but sounds more so to me like
- 1:50:00he was in a test of sorts that the captain
- 1:50:02put up or the devil or whatever. So it had
- 1:50:04little touches. I wish there was more. I wish there
- 1:50:07was more time spent. Like my favorite parts of the
- 1:50:09story were like, oh, I started writing scratches on the
- 1:50:11back of the seat to see how long I'd been there.
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: That's cool to me. The idea of like a seat
- 1:50:15in an.
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: Aisle becoming a sort of purgatory or like a prison
- 1:50:18cell that you're keeping tally marks and stuff inside of.
- 1:50:21I wanted more of that, so it certainly as potential.
- 1:50:24I like the concept more than anything, I think. Uh,
- 1:50:27And this was one of the author's first stories, and
- 1:50:29he has a ton, so I'd be interested to seeing
- 1:50:33what else they did, or like more recent stuff they
- 1:50:35did at some point, but seemed pretty prolific on no Sleep,
- 1:50:38there's me there.
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: I'd like to see it expanded on somewhat.
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: But I thought it was fun. I thought it was
- 1:50:42a fun read. Not having super long and stuff.
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: It's just just a fun little I'm not advocating. I'm
- 1:50:48not advocating for things to be long. I just think,
- 1:50:50like just I think just like giving more time of
- 1:50:55like what are we trying to accomplish with this section
- 1:50:57and stuff? Like I think like the idea of being
- 1:51:00stuck on it, Like even like even a twelve hour
- 1:51:03flight is long, you know, so getting to like thirty
- 1:51:07hours is insane. That's like a very insane thing. I think.
- 1:51:12If I had to parallel it with any other story,
- 1:51:14it's I'm at the Glenmont Metro shoot me whatever.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: Long I was thinking of I don't think that.
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: I don't think that is the longest story, but I
- 1:51:24think it has enough, it has enough meat on its
- 1:51:27bones that it is uh like when you first get
- 1:51:31into it, it feels like these like the first waves
- 1:51:35feel like eternity, until after a while, when it's when
- 1:51:38the person telling the story has been around it so
- 1:51:42long that like eons are passing, you know, like to
- 1:51:45the to the reader, it's as simple as that, because
- 1:51:48we've already built up this thing to where now it's like,
- 1:51:51you know, months are meaningless because I've been here eons.
- 1:51:53So it's like it's it's time moves relatively fast, the
- 1:51:56longer in the story that it appears to go. But
- 1:52:00I think like building that up more and building I
- 1:52:02think like and this is all obviously hindsight whatever, sure
- 1:52:05you know it is what it is. I'm just saying
- 1:52:07for the for the for the thought of discussion and
- 1:52:09stuff like that, that you know, if if you have
- 1:52:11a character doing this like establishing I think like maybe
- 1:52:16establishing a bit of the rules, and then also just
- 1:52:18the kind of general chaotic nature of this, I mean,
- 1:52:21like a guy not freaking out and stuff is is
- 1:52:25crazy whatever, like him just kind of being like, oh okay,
- 1:52:31and like the people come over and all they really
- 1:52:32say is like, sir, you're gonna have to calm down.
- 1:52:34Like after a while he would probably be like he'd
- 1:52:36probably say go fuck yourself or something, and then like,
- 1:52:39what's that repercussion look like? If he's not being amicable
- 1:52:42that way, you know what I mean. But also just
- 1:52:45having it be a thing if I jumped out the
- 1:52:46window or I jumped out the door and now my
- 1:52:50plane's landing, that didn't feel like very satisfying or earned
- 1:52:55to me or whatever, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 1:52:59it kind of hurry up real quick.
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: It'd be cool if there was like hints he got
- 1:53:03at it, like maybe he saw someone else wordlessly do it,
- 1:53:07thinking they killed themselves, but then at the end he
- 1:53:08realizes they made it off. Maybe there's a couple other
- 1:53:11people who also seem to be in the same state
- 1:53:13of purgatory. Maybe one of them gets like one of
- 1:53:17them just disappears, one of them jumps out of the plane,
- 1:53:20like uh again, it's more I think more. I think
- 1:53:23there were good pieces, but more would help it insertive ways.
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: But for what it was, it was fun. It was
- 1:53:27just a little like plane purgatory story, right, did you.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: Have fun Isaiah? Yeah, I talking about flight plan. Flight
- 1:53:37Plan's pretty good. Flight Plan's pretty funny. So I looked
- 1:53:40at the end of it, and apparently she becomes like, some, no,
- 1:53:42don't tell me, I want to watch it. I don't,
- 1:53:43don't tell me, I want to watch it. Okay, okay,
- 1:53:45I want to watch them with the flight plan, and
- 1:53:48I think, I think, uh, I think just playing around
- 1:53:52more with like what's going on outside? We only see
- 1:53:55outside once in the ocean, you know what I mean?
- 1:53:58Or whatever? Yeah, yeah, which is just the it's supposed
- 1:54:01to be a dark ocean or whatever. But I don't know,
- 1:54:04fucking pull out some Twilight Zone shit is like do
- 1:54:06you see the captain on the wing? Like how crazy
- 1:54:08would it be if if they're just like, oh my god,
- 1:54:10I think I see somebody. Oh that's the captain. What
- 1:54:14isn't hold on? Isn't there an old Twilight episode where
- 1:54:16the premise is, yeah, it's William Shanner, there's something on
- 1:54:19the plane, some thing. It's like the best, right, It's
- 1:54:23like the best fucking Twilight Zone episode ever episode. So
- 1:54:28he gets off the So this is such a good
- 1:54:30fucking First off, I just want to be an advocate.
- 1:54:32I'm gonna use the end of this episode to talk
- 1:54:34about this. If you got if no one's seen the
- 1:54:36Twilight Zone episode from the sixties, it is so good.
- 1:54:39It's still so good, my god. But the William Shatner
- 1:54:44episode Williams Shretnon episode is probably the most uh, the
- 1:54:49most popular, but it's awesome. It makes no sense. It's
- 1:54:52so stupid. It's like him being like, it's a guy
- 1:54:54who's afraid of flying, and he's like had like a
- 1:54:56mental breakdown and then now he is okay, is is uh?
- 1:55:00Mental hospital doctor says it's okay that he can go home, right,
- 1:55:04so to conquer his fear until I test it out.
- 1:55:06He is going to fly home, and he's like kind
- 1:55:08of being sporadic, and people know that on the flight
- 1:55:11that hey, this is a guy that is having like
- 1:55:13you know, he's kind of a mentally unwell man. Right.
- 1:55:16So then while he's flying, there's this fucking like Harry
- 1:55:20Goblin on the wing and I'm like on this wing
- 1:55:24and he's like, oh my god, and he's like freaking out.
- 1:55:26The fucking the guy is like hacking at the wing
- 1:55:31and he's freaking out and he takes out a gun
- 1:55:32and he's getting ready to this stuff, like all this
- 1:55:34different shit, blah blah blah, I'm not gonna do whatever.
- 1:55:36But it ends with everyone's like, oh, he's crazy again, right, Well,
- 1:55:40he didn't make it and he fucking you know, pulled
- 1:55:42out a gun, blah blah, all that stuff. But then
- 1:55:44the camera pans out and then you see that the
- 1:55:46wing is all fucked up, that he was actually telling
- 1:55:48the truth. The monster is real. It's awesome, it's really good.
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: So the whole premise is there's he sees a monster
- 1:55:58on the wing, yeah, and he tried to stop it,
- 1:56:01and then it's like always crazy, but then there was
- 1:56:02actually a monster on the wing.
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: So they all die, no, no, no, they land the
- 1:56:07plane lane. And the reason that that's so good is
- 1:56:11because you are also questioning is William Shatton are fucking insane, right,
- 1:56:17So them landing the plane, you're also just kind of like, oh, yeah,
- 1:56:19I guess he was a nut until it pulls out
- 1:56:22and then you see the things all fucked up and
- 1:56:23it's like, oh, no, he was telling the And also
- 1:56:27the Twilight Zone movie from the eighties or whatever, it
- 1:56:29sucks don't fucking watch that. Just watch the sixties version
- 1:56:32of the show. So good, love it so much. But anyways,
- 1:56:37the whole point of that, though, is there's a clear
- 1:56:39that I think, just establishing a clear motive of what
- 1:56:42is going on, use the story in the contexts, in
- 1:56:46the context of the environment. It can be a purgatory
- 1:56:49plane and stuff. But like what like, is there something
- 1:56:51that that relates to with the character? Your themes need
- 1:56:55to always be revolving around your character and stuff like that.
- 1:56:58I say always, but I generally it's a good idea
- 1:57:01to have. It'd be something that your characters are driving
- 1:57:04forced all the things that are happening and everything, and
- 1:57:07there could be outside evil forces that are coming in
- 1:57:09and doing stuff, but I think the entire motivation should
- 1:57:12be based around your main character or that kind of
- 1:57:15thing at least that, like I said, and the the
- 1:57:18in a basic matter that's I'm sure there's other works
- 1:57:21that do it good. But yeah, so all in all,
- 1:57:24it's a fun idea. But you know, I enjoyed talking
- 1:57:27about flight Plan. I enjoyed even just riffing on what
- 1:57:29I would do with the flight attendants and how I
- 1:57:31would be a brave man and a white night myself
- 1:57:34and uh as you are, and just the idea of
- 1:57:37a plane coming down and it just keeps raising back
- 1:57:40up and the kind of like fucking mental torture that
- 1:57:42would be, or even the baby eating thing. Out of those,
- 1:57:45did you like the baby eating thing or did you
- 1:57:47like to out the ass being blown out thing? More?
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: I think the baby eating thing kind of it's a
- 1:57:54more because it's a different one to be like I'm
- 1:57:56going to die, but it's like, oh, I've got to
- 1:57:58kill someone.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: I've got to kill someone that the probably doesn't know what.
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: Life is yet.
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: I have to take a life before it's had a
- 1:58:03chance to live. Like, actually, it's probably good like that.
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: That's probably even a better thing is what if you
- 1:58:08had to eat someone's spouse. You had to eat a
- 1:58:10wife's husband, so he's like a fully conscious man who's
- 1:58:13like I'm in the middle, like just a guy, yeah,
- 1:58:16just a guy. Yeah, because a baby doesn't know what's
- 1:58:19going on. I mean, it's sad, right, but but I
- 1:58:21like how you phrase eating a man as a wife's spouse.
- 1:58:26Just I mean, I was like I wanted to specify
- 1:58:29that it's it was a husband. My thoughts were not
- 1:58:32arranged there correctly, but also known as a wife's spouse.
- 1:58:37Is that? Is that not correct? A husband? I mean
- 1:58:40it's a complicated way to say husband. But yeah, I
- 1:58:42said my my, my thoughts were collected there. But I
- 1:58:46will say if you had to eat a full man, like,
- 1:58:49not even just part of it, you had to eat
- 1:58:50him bones and all, uh huh, and the fight they
- 1:58:55could be crying and ship and they put like apple
- 1:58:57butter over it and it makes the bone soft. He's
- 1:58:59even like, I didn't think i'd be able to eat
- 1:59:00through the bones, but I was able to dig through
- 1:59:02because they put something on it and made it all
- 1:59:04soft and squishy like jello. Right right, Sure, Yeah that'd
- 1:59:14be that'd be awesome. Dude. Yeah, I'm just all right.
- 1:59:18Speaker 4: You know what.
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: I never mind? Then, never mind. Thank you guys so
- 1:59:22much for watching this show.
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: Our most recent comment on the Patreon is someone comment
- 1:59:27and said I just want to get pig roasted by YouTube.
- 1:59:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Am I oversharing now?
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: Is that too much? No? I just I would love
- 1:59:38a comment that just says something like, you know, this
- 1:59:41is a fun read. Guys, appreciate your time. I don't
- 1:59:44think we get those. Instead we get the pig roast comments.
- 1:59:48I don't think that's I don't think that's our kind
- 1:59:50of channel hunter. I don't think. Actually, I want people
- 1:59:54to I want people to have in the comments. I
- 1:59:56want you to say, did you like the baby?
- 1:59:58Speaker 4: Eat that?
- 1:59:58Speaker 1: The butthole idea or eating another human being is the
- 2:00:01top comment.
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: The top comment on our last episode is bro turned
- 2:00:05eighteen and became a state mandated bottom. That's the audience
- 2:00:08we've cultivated. That's that's the kind of people we've put together. Also,
- 2:00:11by the way, from the last episode, Turk got the
- 2:00:15youtubeer Turk we mentioned he posted a few hours ago
- 2:00:20on his YouTube and just said who is Turk Brownie?
- 2:00:25So I'm glad that all of you immediately sprinted over there,
- 2:00:31everyone who left.
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: A guy that hasn't posted a YouTube video in a year,
- 2:00:38and then just he logs in to see he's just
- 2:00:41kidding just so much of it.
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: Then you know what you people commented on that after
- 2:00:47he mentioned that, uh, let's see anyways, the seventeenth subject
- 2:00:53in the Fleshgate revival project was a success, as he
- 2:00:56turned to life somewhere in the facility after we administrated
- 2:00:59Leith shocks to his body, and then someone referred to
- 2:01:05the story as the crash out that resulted from this
- 2:01:08yowie fanfic was beautiful.
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: What is yowie? What does that mean?
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: Thank you all so much for watching this episode of Creepcast.
- 2:01:17Thank you so much for my Hey, my co host here,
- 2:01:20Hunter appreciate you all. Be sure to show the author,
- 2:01:24Worcester Streets some love. We'll have their stuff linked in
- 2:01:27the description. They've wrote a ton of stuff. Be sure
- 2:01:29to check it out. I appreciate the audio listeners and Patreon.
- 2:01:32As always, you guys mean a lot and we will
- 2:01:34see you in the next one.
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: Bye. Guys. You have to say the snarky comment at
- 2:01:43the end, all right, well sure whatever, oh oh oh
- 2:02:12oh oh
