- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with IR Radio. Welcome to the Almost Famous podcast. We're back.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's the off season and we cannot be more excited
- 0:11Speaker 1: to be joining you all today to talk about a ridiculous,
- 0:16Speaker 1: absolutely ridiculous amount of bachelor headlines. Stuff is happening in
- 0:19Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation and it is exciting. But first off, we're
- 0:23Speaker 1: gonna check in with uh. Well, I would say, uh
- 0:29Speaker 1: one of, if not the best mothers I know, Ashley.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I can eddie. Um, Ashley, I see you on this
- 0:38Speaker 1: podcast in action. No, you're juggling a baby and a
- 0:41Speaker 1: and a podcast Mike and feeding all at the same time.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It's impressive. Do you see his legs behind me? Yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 1: that's pretty great. Um, Ashley, how you holding up? Give
- 0:53Speaker 1: us an update? I know it's the off season, so
- 0:55Speaker 1: we have some time here to catch up with you,
- 0:57Speaker 1: to tell us where your life is at. Ben, I
- 1:00Speaker 1: wish that my life sounded interesting right now. I am
- 1:03Speaker 1: the ultimate mom and I'm like I now give my
- 1:08Speaker 1: mom and like all their like stay at home moms
- 1:10Speaker 1: so much credit because running a house and a baby
- 1:14Speaker 1: in cake and care a baby is so not easy. Plus,
- 1:16Speaker 1: you know, I have other things like my podcast, and
- 1:18Speaker 1: we have social media work and all that, and there's
- 1:22Speaker 1: just like no time in the day. I remember my
- 1:24Speaker 1: mom like still to this day, like whenever we're home,
- 1:28Speaker 1: she's always like, there's not enough time in the day.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'm always doing something on this house. It never stops.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And now it's like I quote my mom to her, now,
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm like, seriously, like it never stops. There's always something
- 1:40Speaker 1: I should be doing. Even before we had a baby,
- 1:44Speaker 1: I was like, you know, whenever I'd still on the
- 1:47Speaker 1: couch and be watching a show, like there's that little
- 1:49Speaker 1: voice in the back of your head saying you should
- 1:52Speaker 1: be doing this, you gotta do this, you gotta catch
- 1:54Speaker 1: up on that. But all of it seems like, you know,
- 1:56Speaker 1: it's not very urgent stuff. You're like, she's being productive.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I eat that. I hate that. We feel like we
- 2:01Speaker 1: always should be being productive in some sense, but now
- 2:06Speaker 1: as a mom and now having a house instead of
- 2:10Speaker 1: an apartment, but mostly because of being a mom, there's
- 2:14Speaker 1: always something to do. I can't get even through like
- 2:19Speaker 1: you think, like, oh, you know, like a lot of
- 2:20Speaker 1: time to stay on the couch, not even really, because
- 2:25Speaker 1: like I don't know if my focus on on something
- 2:28Speaker 1: other than him, Like even if my eyes are on
- 2:30Speaker 1: my phone on the TV. He doesn't like it. You
- 2:35Speaker 1: can tell. He's like, give me all your attention. Look
- 2:38Speaker 1: at my eyes when you're giving me a bottle. It's
- 2:41Speaker 1: so funny. I don't know where the time goes every day.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And then I think like, okay, um, you spend half
- 2:48Speaker 1: an hour every three hours giving him a bottle. So
- 2:52Speaker 1: that's a whole, that's a huge chunk of ours that
- 2:55Speaker 1: you know, that are that you used to have that
- 2:57Speaker 1: you don't have now. And I'm so not complaining, Like
- 3:00Speaker 1: I love it. And it's just like I can stare
- 3:03Speaker 1: at his face all day long. You're not complained. But
- 3:05Speaker 1: it's so crazy, what just like how it changes your
- 3:08Speaker 1: life completely. Jared's here, he's walking up the stairs. He
- 3:11Speaker 1: just came home from work. Jared's working all the time
- 3:14Speaker 1: because you know, we have the new business. Hey Jared,
- 3:19Speaker 1: he washes his hands before he touches the baby every
- 3:22Speaker 1: time him. I mean that's great, right, but like also,
- 3:25Speaker 1: like Jared the dost, we don't need to do that.
- 3:28Speaker 1: The So he's been working, You've been at home. You're
- 3:32Speaker 1: trying to catch up. Now I've been saving this question.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's a very it's not like a revolutionary question, but
- 3:39Speaker 1: I've been saving it for the moment that, UM felt necessary.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So you're you're into this mom thing now, like you're
- 3:45Speaker 1: you're gonna always be learning. It's always gonna feel crazy
- 3:48Speaker 1: and like you don't know what you're doing, but like
- 3:50Speaker 1: you're in it now. What is something that was unexpected
- 3:55Speaker 1: or that you didn't understand about being a mom that
- 3:57Speaker 1: you've learned now since your mom day started? Um, I think, well,
- 4:03Speaker 1: because this is like an episode just of headlines and
- 4:06Speaker 1: Jared is walking the room from work, and I blessedly
- 4:08Speaker 1: get to have him today, UM here at home at
- 4:11Speaker 1: five o'clock. That's amazing. I'd love for him to come
- 4:14Speaker 1: and do like this segment together. Yeah, So, as you
- 4:19Speaker 1: just mentioned, Jared is walking up the stairs, he's washing
- 4:22Speaker 1: his hands before he holds your baby because he cares
- 4:25Speaker 1: so much. And now that he's with us, and it
- 4:30Speaker 1: is a gift as we've learned that he is home
- 4:32Speaker 1: at five o'clock from work, able to spend time with
- 4:35Speaker 1: the family, it's a big dealities here with you. UM,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I think it would be awesome. We've all kind of
- 4:39Speaker 1: been waiting and saving um the questions for this moment.
- 4:43Speaker 1: But if you guys could just talk a little bit
- 4:44Speaker 1: about what you've learned as parents so far, some of
- 4:47Speaker 1: the things that are shocking and surprising to you too,
- 4:50Speaker 1: some of the things that maybe you feel like, wow,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I'm better at this than I even knew. I was
- 4:54Speaker 1: just spend some time, if you don't mind, walking through
- 4:56Speaker 1: what being a parent is like to this day. First
- 4:58Speaker 1: of all, Hi, Ben, how are you buddy? He stead?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I gotta talk. First of all, actually, why
- 5:04Speaker 1: are your hands filthy? Well? I got a blessed moment
- 5:09Speaker 1: before where he was asleep in his car seat for
- 5:12Speaker 1: like an hour and a half, so I spray painted
- 5:15Speaker 1: the uh so, all right, So the question at hand,
- 5:18Speaker 1: what have we learned as parents? Well, what's what's surprising?
- 5:22Speaker 1: I think that what's surprising is one everything does come natural.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Like everybody says it, well, uh yeah, I mean it's
- 5:31Speaker 1: just like anything in life. You just adapt and learn
- 5:33Speaker 1: how to do it. It's like, Okay, here's a kid,
- 5:35Speaker 1: so just keep it alive. I was just saying that
- 5:38Speaker 1: the biggest change for me is definitely the time suck.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Like I mean, just giving him bottles is like three
- 5:43Speaker 1: a total of three hours a day. Yeah, i'd also said,
- 5:46Speaker 1: just see also, you're not here for all the bottles.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I'm not here for all the bottles. I would say,
- 5:50Speaker 1: just the emotional exhaustion of it all. Really, yeah, I'm
- 5:54Speaker 1: always tired. But maybe it's some other shop all the time,
- 5:57Speaker 1: because you're at the shop all the time. I would
- 6:00Speaker 1: it's yeah, man, it's great. It's just you're just your
- 6:04Speaker 1: life isn't about you anymore. Like I it sucks. It's
- 6:09Speaker 1: just it's great, but it sucks at the same time
- 6:11Speaker 1: because it's like I just you know, I can't go
- 6:14Speaker 1: to the gym anymore. As much as I want to,
- 6:16Speaker 1: as much as I want to, I just don't go
- 6:18Speaker 1: to the gym anymore. And then, you know, so I
- 6:20Speaker 1: don't feel my physically best, which doesn't make me feel
- 6:24Speaker 1: my mentally best. But I do love Dawson more than anything.
- 6:26Speaker 1: He's definitely worth it. But then, you know, like bro
- 6:29Speaker 1: golf is just I've been golfing in a long time,
- 6:34Speaker 1: so that's out the window as of right now. But
- 6:36Speaker 1: also I would say that has a lot to do
- 6:38Speaker 1: with Audrey's because I'm there so much. One thousand percent.
- 6:42Speaker 1: All of our stress comes from the fact that we
- 6:44Speaker 1: decided to do three things at once. Yeah, so it's
- 6:46Speaker 1: gonna settle down. House, baby, and business. Okay, so they're
- 6:52Speaker 1: like three full time jobs that we took on, all
- 6:55Speaker 1: in the same month, the same season, the same season,
- 6:57Speaker 1: at the year. He's just making He's very entertaining to bed.
- 7:03Speaker 1: He's just I'll go grab in a second, I would say.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Also another surprising, not surprising. I think a lot of
- 7:10Speaker 1: the things I expected. If I'm being honest, I know
- 7:12Speaker 1: it's underwhelming answer, But you know I expected to fall
- 7:14Speaker 1: madly in love with him. I am. I expected to
- 7:18Speaker 1: be uh in awe of every little moment everything. I'm
- 7:23Speaker 1: just like, look at him, look at yeah, everything he does,
- 7:25Speaker 1: as long as he's not crying, it's like, holy, look
- 7:27Speaker 1: at him. He's awesome. He's the best. You know. I'm
- 7:29Speaker 1: excited for him to grow up. I'm excited to him. Listen,
- 7:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna be a parent. I'm not there's a difference
- 7:34Speaker 1: between being a parent and a friend. I'm not one
- 7:36Speaker 1: of those people that believes that, Like I want to
- 7:38Speaker 1: be my son's friend. I want to be my son's father,
- 7:41Speaker 1: but you know, I want to play catch with him,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and I want to, you know, show him the things
- 7:45Speaker 1: that I love and uh, it's cool, like even something
- 7:49Speaker 1: as stupid I was feeding in this morning, a Mission
- 7:51Speaker 1: Impossible is on and I'm like, bro, you're gonna watch
- 7:54Speaker 1: every Tom Cruise movie and you're gonna love it. Oh
- 7:57Speaker 1: my god, my favorite moment with him. Unfortunately Jared wasn't
- 8:00Speaker 1: here for it. But last week he was. He was
- 8:04Speaker 1: like being a little uh, he was being like a
- 8:07Speaker 1: little fussy, and we were really realizing that he loves
- 8:10Speaker 1: being out, like he's super social. Whenever he's out, like
- 8:14Speaker 1: out to dinner, out at Audrey's, he is in his
- 8:19Speaker 1: happiest state. Like he likes to see a lot of
- 8:21Speaker 1: things around him and like to hear different sounds. So
- 8:25Speaker 1: I was like, you gotta, we gotta turn you onto
- 8:27Speaker 1: music already. So I started playing the Greatest Showman soundtrack
- 8:31Speaker 1: for him, amongst others of my favorites. And we're not
- 8:33Speaker 1: just talking boy bands, were talking about like lots of
- 8:35Speaker 1: other like classic, great timeless music, and he was kicking
- 8:41Speaker 1: and moving his arms and his legs and his eyes
- 8:44Speaker 1: were getting widinarything as we were listening to the Greatest
- 8:47Speaker 1: show in soundtrack, and it was so cool to see
- 8:50Speaker 1: his reaction to some of my favorite music. Well, you
- 8:54Speaker 1: guys have also, like you mentioned, you've you've done a
- 8:57Speaker 1: lot in a short period of time. You as to repeat,
- 9:01Speaker 1: you got a house, you start a business which we
- 9:05Speaker 1: we may move out of because we because we want
- 9:09Speaker 1: to make things even more difficult for us. Actually, well
- 9:13Speaker 1: this is this is the thing. Our house is. Actually
- 9:16Speaker 1: we were very much like our house, but it's thirty
- 9:19Speaker 1: five minutes from Audrey's and we thought that wouldn't be
- 9:24Speaker 1: that bad of a commute. I'm just gonna babble here.
- 9:26Speaker 1: This is like a therapy session with ben Um. Yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 1: we didn't think that was gonna be that bad of
- 9:30Speaker 1: a commute for Jared, but it is because he at
- 9:33Speaker 1: least has the kind of job there as the owner
- 9:35Speaker 1: that he could bounce back and forth when during busy
- 9:38Speaker 1: hours and slow hours, you know, he could be home,
- 9:40Speaker 1: but he can't exactly bounce when the commune is thirty
- 9:43Speaker 1: five minutes. He's not going to go back and forth
- 9:45Speaker 1: twice a day. And then with Dawson, he wants to
- 9:48Speaker 1: be as home as much as possible and like, I
- 9:51Speaker 1: need more help, So we're even looking for another house
- 9:53Speaker 1: right now, which is insane because I'm gonna have to
- 9:56Speaker 1: do what I've just done, moving and settle and make
- 9:59Speaker 1: it make it a home all over again. But in
- 10:01Speaker 1: the long run, we do think it's going to be
- 10:04Speaker 1: helpful for us and like good for our mental health
- 10:07Speaker 1: and our whole family health. And I get it, no,
- 10:10Speaker 1: and that makes sense. And you know, a lot of
- 10:13Speaker 1: people when you have a baby, a lot of people
- 10:15Speaker 1: don't add the things that you guys have on, but
- 10:18Speaker 1: you have added a lot on. There is something I'm
- 10:20Speaker 1: really intrigued to talk to you both about because actually
- 10:23Speaker 1: we spoke about it before Dawston was even born, and
- 10:26Speaker 1: I haven't got talked to Jared about it. But uh,
- 10:29Speaker 1: you know, in thirty three, a lot of my friends
- 10:31Speaker 1: are having their first children or second children um or
- 10:35Speaker 1: they're thinking about having kids, are trying at this stage.
- 10:39Speaker 1: There is an anxiety element, right even just having a
- 10:42Speaker 1: baby in your house and worrying about your baby now
- 10:44Speaker 1: and worrying about the baby's sleeping, and then also the
- 10:47Speaker 1: worry about the work, and then the worry about a
- 10:50Speaker 1: new home or work in general. How are you two
- 10:54Speaker 1: doing when it comes to your anxiety levels? And your
- 10:57Speaker 1: mental health and how you're functioning both as humans. Oh,
- 11:01Speaker 1: I mean, we're fully depressed. But I was going to say,
- 11:06Speaker 1: how honest is he gonna be here? And that's fair, No,
- 11:11Speaker 1: And it's fair to talk about because I think, just
- 11:14Speaker 1: be honest because there is I mean, I get to
- 11:17Speaker 1: hear right when you're when you're friends with people or
- 11:19Speaker 1: there's people listening who have been through this, maybe you're
- 11:20Speaker 1: not depressed, but we're like, hey, this is super easy
- 11:22Speaker 1: on us, and like we're just thriving, and that's okay too,
- 11:25Speaker 1: But be honest about how where you guys are at.
- 11:28Speaker 1: The way I centered myself is, listen, we're tired, we're exhausted,
- 11:33Speaker 1: like we were saying before, you know, everything that we
- 11:37Speaker 1: do now is really Dawson first trying to prioritize how
- 11:42Speaker 1: he's doing. I know, I try to help Ashley out
- 11:44Speaker 1: in any way I can, um, but so it's exhausting
- 11:48Speaker 1: and there's a lot of things to complain about. Having
- 11:50Speaker 1: said that, the way I centered myself is, I mean,
- 11:54Speaker 1: all you have to do is is look around the world.
- 11:56Speaker 1: No, no no, no, I was gonna say, all you do
- 11:58Speaker 1: is look around the world and realize, holy you know
- 12:00Speaker 1: what am I complaining about. I'm breathing right now. And
- 12:03Speaker 1: that's what I really centered myself. So, like as exhaust
- 12:05Speaker 1: as I am, in times when I get really down
- 12:07Speaker 1: and just sad, I all I do is think about
- 12:10Speaker 1: why am I like one day I'm gonna die and
- 12:13Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be able to hold my son, or
- 12:15Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be able to breathe or have a
- 12:17Speaker 1: sip of coffee or just look outside, he's grabbing the mic,
- 12:22Speaker 1: and so that's one. You know, those are the moments
- 12:24Speaker 1: where I really just kind of centered myself and realize, Okay, Jared, relax,
- 12:28Speaker 1: You're not the center of the universe. There's a lot
- 12:30Speaker 1: of people stressed out, there's a lot of people in
- 12:32Speaker 1: worse scenarios than yourself. So just relax, breathe because you
- 12:36Speaker 1: get to breathe. You know, not everybody gets to do that.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Not everybody gets to live to thirty three. You know,
- 12:41Speaker 1: it's it's a blessing and so hopefully we live for
- 12:44Speaker 1: a very long time. And so that's how I think
- 12:47Speaker 1: mine is very similar as well. It's like Jared and
- 12:49Speaker 1: I have this horrible fear, it's dooming fear that will
- 12:54Speaker 1: happen one day of our parents dying, and then like
- 12:58Speaker 1: our siblings, we don't even think about ourselves links because
- 13:00Speaker 1: you know, lois all those things. So I think about
- 13:04Speaker 1: sometimes we just like you know that day is not
- 13:07Speaker 1: today and we have everybody happy, healthy and safe, and like,
- 13:11Speaker 1: I can't be luckier. Has these existential questions became heightened
- 13:19Speaker 1: now since Dawson is born? Do you find yourselves kind
- 13:21Speaker 1: of asking and worrying and thinking about these big life
- 13:24Speaker 1: things now? Oh my god, When we first had him,
- 13:28Speaker 1: when we were living at my parents for those couple
- 13:30Speaker 1: of weeks, I was crying all the time, being like
- 13:35Speaker 1: and not in a baby blues way, you know, not
- 13:37Speaker 1: in a postpartum way or anything like that, because it
- 13:39Speaker 1: was like happy tears. But I was like, you can't
- 13:42Speaker 1: get better than this. Somebody's gonna die soon, Like you can't,
- 13:46Speaker 1: just you can't live a life like this perfect, just
- 13:48Speaker 1: because like when he was born and you know, you're like,
- 13:50Speaker 1: oh my god, I love him. I can't believe how
- 13:53Speaker 1: much I love him. Yeah, I think about those things too.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Were I was on a flight by myself, I forget
- 13:57Speaker 1: when I was probably on the Oh you went you
- 14:00Speaker 1: you went back here for like three days. Oh my god,
- 14:03Speaker 1: we're afraid that while I was thinking of something, well,
- 14:06Speaker 1: I think about this. I think about it differently now
- 14:09Speaker 1: because now if I, you know, something tragic happened, I
- 14:11Speaker 1: wasn't here. It's weird to think that, you know, Dawson
- 14:17Speaker 1: would grow up without a father. You know, the same
- 14:19Speaker 1: thing with my mom. Jesus, with Ashley. I mean, obviously
- 14:22Speaker 1: I think of it in my terms because I don't
- 14:24Speaker 1: want to think of anything bad happening in Ashley. But
- 14:26Speaker 1: like it's weird to think, like, yeah, bro, you you
- 14:29Speaker 1: know so men and my friends unfortunately have had to
- 14:32Speaker 1: grow up without their dad for multitude of reasons, whether
- 14:35Speaker 1: it's you know, they're not he's not with the family anymore,
- 14:37Speaker 1: or unfortunately passed at an early age. And to think
- 14:40Speaker 1: like that would happen to That's that's the weird mind blowing,
- 14:43Speaker 1: Like to think that, like I would die and then
- 14:45Speaker 1: he would grow up and then he would be the kid.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Now to be like, yeah, my my dad died when
- 14:49Speaker 1: I was, you know, a baby. It's like Jesus were
- 14:53Speaker 1: about Jared in the car driving back and forth, I'm like,
- 14:55Speaker 1: do we need to get you a bigger safer car. Now,
- 14:59Speaker 1: all right, let's talk about is near something bro well,
- 15:02Speaker 1: And it's just interesting to see the switch, you know,
- 15:06Speaker 1: all this is touching about the switch ones Dawson was born,
- 15:08Speaker 1: where your minds went, where your hearts went, where your
- 15:11Speaker 1: you know, your heart was opened up. Your anxiety and
- 15:13Speaker 1: your fear increased, and your responsibilities increased at the same time.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yet you're sitting there smiling at your beautiful boy and
- 15:21Speaker 1: enjoying every second of it. And it's weird, right if
- 15:23Speaker 1: if I was to describe, Hey, you're gonna think more
- 15:28Speaker 1: about the fragility of life. You're gonna be more tired
- 15:33Speaker 1: than you've ever been before. You're gonna have more responsibilities
- 15:37Speaker 1: then you know what to do with. And on top
- 15:41Speaker 1: of all that, it's gonna feel like you're learning every
- 15:44Speaker 1: day something new. Hey, does this sound fun to you?
- 15:47Speaker 1: If you didn't add in that you had a baby,
- 15:49Speaker 1: you'd be like, no, that sounds awful. But you had
- 15:52Speaker 1: a baby, and for some beautiful miracles, miraculous reason, you're like,
- 15:57Speaker 1: and it's all worth it, and it makes my life
- 15:59Speaker 1: better And I cry because I can't imagine it being
- 16:01Speaker 1: any more perfect than this moment. It's weird when we
- 16:05Speaker 1: think of ourselves as certainly, I don't think of myself
- 16:08Speaker 1: as indestructible, but you always I don't know if you
- 16:11Speaker 1: guys feel the same way, but you worry about every
- 16:14Speaker 1: other people. I don't worry about myself. That's what I mean.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Like I feel like I you know, I don't know.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I always think of ways of saving surviving things. Point is, Uh,
- 16:24Speaker 1: it's so much different with him because he's just so fragile,
- 16:28Speaker 1: And I'm like, we think about it like if I trip,
- 16:31Speaker 1: he's in my arms, I doesn't even know how to turn.
- 16:34Speaker 1: If he felt like it's just good. Every time we
- 16:37Speaker 1: walk down the stairs, it's a thing, you know, every
- 16:40Speaker 1: step I take, it's like this could be it. It's
- 16:44Speaker 1: so weird to think about how vulnerable he is. Jesus man,
- 16:48Speaker 1: Like your life is literally in our hands. Isn't that crazy? Bro? Yeah?
- 16:54Speaker 1: And then one day is gonna grow up and be like,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I hate you dead, because he's going to say that
- 16:57Speaker 1: because all kids says, I've never said that to my
- 16:59Speaker 1: parents before, And did you ever say that? Yeah? I did.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I said it to my dad once, and yeah, I
- 17:05Speaker 1: still remember the moment. I didn't mean it. I was angry,
- 17:08Speaker 1: and I it still sucks that I ever said the
- 17:10Speaker 1: because it's the opposite of anything I've ever felt or
- 17:13Speaker 1: felt the time or feel now. But yes, you do.
- 17:16Speaker 1: You're a teenager, and they it's usually because they catch
- 17:18Speaker 1: you doing something you shouldn't do and you're feeling super
- 17:21Speaker 1: guilty about it and you've lied to him and gotten
- 17:23Speaker 1: out of it, and then they like ask you one
- 17:25Speaker 1: more time and you're like, hey, I hate you. Stop
- 17:27Speaker 1: asking me these questions. And they're like, well, that hurts
- 17:30Speaker 1: really bad. But to this day, I remember being in
- 17:33Speaker 1: like first or second grade, and I was going through
- 17:36Speaker 1: this phase where it's like I didn't want to be
- 17:38Speaker 1: taking care of anyone that wasn't a girl. Like I
- 17:41Speaker 1: wanted all my teachers to be girls. I wanted like
- 17:43Speaker 1: every you know, every baby said I had to be
- 17:45Speaker 1: a girl. And so they were going to leave me
- 17:48Speaker 1: home with my grandpa and my grandma, but I guess
- 17:51Speaker 1: I didn't want to. I don't know what it was
- 17:52Speaker 1: about Grandpa and I go, no, don't leave me home
- 17:55Speaker 1: alone with Grandpa. He's mean. It's like what he was
- 17:58Speaker 1: the nicest, never mean ever, But like Grandpa, Now, to
- 18:04Speaker 1: this day, I still think if he had heard that,
- 18:06Speaker 1: I just can't. I can't deal with that guilt. Yeah,
- 18:09Speaker 1: but then you fast forward yourself into their shoes. Now
- 18:12Speaker 1: we're all adults. If a kid said that, you'd be like,
- 18:16Speaker 1: we would laugh about it, you know. So I guess
- 18:18Speaker 1: as a kid he feel a lot more guilty about
- 18:20Speaker 1: it than as an adult. But still, well, it's really
- 18:23Speaker 1: great to catch up with you two, and it's good
- 18:24Speaker 1: to get and what you're accomplishing and what how you're
- 18:28Speaker 1: changing as humans. It's great to see it, and and
- 18:31Speaker 1: I think from all of us, we appreciate you all
- 18:33Speaker 1: giving us the update, and we will continue to keep
- 18:36Speaker 1: updates as your family grows and as Dawson grows, and
- 18:40Speaker 1: as you two continue to navigate this wildly fun journey
- 18:44Speaker 1: that his parenthood. Um, you're doing it well. Next thing
- 18:48Speaker 1: is trying to make him smile. So he smiles in
- 18:50Speaker 1: his sleep most of the time, probably because he's farting.
- 18:52Speaker 1: But now I'm trying to make him smile because I
- 18:54Speaker 1: can see it, like I can see it's on the verge.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I can see his facial recognition. I could see like
- 18:59Speaker 1: he's opening his mouth, he's enjoying it. I don't know
- 19:03Speaker 1: what that means, but I say it a lot to him,
- 19:04Speaker 1: but he seems to enjoy it beforehand. Yeah, I can
- 19:09Speaker 1: just so bad about lois so bad. She's actually gets
- 19:15Speaker 1: plenty of attention, but I think it's her looking at
- 19:19Speaker 1: the love that he gets that makes herself okay. But wait,
- 19:24Speaker 1: one more thing that I wanted to mention because I
- 19:27Speaker 1: said this on Instagram and I had somebody respond. I
- 19:30Speaker 1: don't remember who it was, but it was also a
- 19:33Speaker 1: Bachelor mom. So the only time that I've been more
- 19:38Speaker 1: tired because he's really good sleeper. We don't get like solid,
- 19:41Speaker 1: like you know, eight hours straight through. We get breaks
- 19:44Speaker 1: and stuff, but we get more than the average parents.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I think he's been he's pretty good, and he has
- 19:51Speaker 1: been pretty good from the start um. But the time
- 19:54Speaker 1: in my life where I was way more tired than
- 19:57Speaker 1: this was definitely filming The Bachelor because we would go
- 20:01Speaker 1: to bed at two in the morning and wake you
- 20:03Speaker 1: up at seven exactly, so we can survive that and
- 20:06Speaker 1: then like beyond camera, you can get through it all.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I get through a lot, you can get through a lot. Well,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I have something that's gonna make Dawson smiles. No, no, no,
- 20:16Speaker 1: I didn't get to the bachelor can get through anything. Yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 1: I mean it's the same as torture, right. I do
- 20:21Speaker 1: have something that's gonna make Dawson smile. It's gonna be
- 20:23Speaker 1: bachelor headlines, and they're gonna come up right after the break.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Moving on from bachelor headlines are chie moving on from Jared,
- 20:40Speaker 1: Nashley and Dawson, We're gonna go into bachelor headlines and
- 20:43Speaker 1: there's a lot of them the day, and there's some
- 20:44Speaker 1: that we really got to celebrate, and this first one
- 20:47Speaker 1: falls into that category. Former Bachelor at Andy Dorfman is
- 20:51Speaker 1: engaged to boyfriend Blaine Heart. The quote is I finally
- 20:55Speaker 1: found love. Yeah, ber Andy, I'm excited. I'm also curious
- 21:01Speaker 1: because they met or Okay, so they rekindled their relationship
- 21:07Speaker 1: in Italy, and I want to know rekindled or she
- 21:11Speaker 1: says the she rekindled last summer in Italy, So I
- 21:16Speaker 1: gotta know rekindled from when? From what? Was this a
- 21:20Speaker 1: fling that turned into a relationship at some point later
- 21:23Speaker 1: down the road or was this an ex boyfriend who
- 21:26Speaker 1: turned into a now current boyfriend and fiance. I don't know,
- 21:30Speaker 1: but we have to get Andy on here and ask
- 21:33Speaker 1: her about it, she brings up Italy because that's where
- 21:36Speaker 1: she's thinking about doing the wedding. She says that she's
- 21:39Speaker 1: not interested at all at planning a wedding. She says
- 21:42Speaker 1: she wants to take the groom's job, basically doing nothing
- 21:46Speaker 1: um during this wedding planning process. Um. She says, it
- 21:50Speaker 1: will be like a small thing whenever it does happen.
- 21:52Speaker 1: But as far as the engagement goes, happened this week
- 21:55Speaker 1: it was very exciting. He told her, Uh, let's go
- 21:59Speaker 1: to dinner, and before do you want to like just
- 22:02Speaker 1: get some you want to have some cocktails on the
- 22:04Speaker 1: beach during sunset. She says it's something that they do
- 22:06Speaker 1: that they do a lot, so it wasn't like out
- 22:08Speaker 1: of the ordinary whatnot. And she's like looking at the
- 22:12Speaker 1: water and before she knows that, she turns around and
- 22:14Speaker 1: he's down on one knee. She says she doesn't really
- 22:17Speaker 1: remember anything except for like crying and hugging him. And
- 22:21Speaker 1: then they instead of going to the restaurant, he goes,
- 22:25Speaker 1: we're going to spend the night at Hotel bel Air,
- 22:27Speaker 1: And then he said, well let's go home. First pack
- 22:30Speaker 1: a bag, and then when she opened the door. All
- 22:34Speaker 1: of their family, they're both their families and then closest
- 22:37Speaker 1: friends were there to surprise her. Her niece and nephew
- 22:40Speaker 1: came running up. She said it was so cute and
- 22:43Speaker 1: um he also they they picked out the jewelry. They
- 22:49Speaker 1: picked up the ring actually together, which is interesting because
- 22:53Speaker 1: why wasn't really a surprise. Camp couldn't have been a
- 22:56Speaker 1: surprise if they were picking out jewelry. Another thing we
- 22:59Speaker 1: have to ask, um they used the same jeweler as
- 23:03Speaker 1: the as her parents did forty years ago. That's amazing.
- 23:09Speaker 1: That's such a great story and great for Andy. I
- 23:11Speaker 1: wonder actually, if you remember right, maybe two years ago,
- 23:15Speaker 1: we had a headline where Andy Dorfman had posted a
- 23:18Speaker 1: picture with a guy's legs on the beach. Remember that,
- 23:21Speaker 1: Oh my god, is that him? I wonder if it
- 23:24Speaker 1: is him? We gotta ask her, we gotta get her on.
- 23:26Speaker 1: But I'm just wondering back in the day, there is
- 23:28Speaker 1: that like Bennett, you know, has Bennett Jordan's it was
- 23:31Speaker 1: maybe him and he was like, no, he's playing all
- 23:34Speaker 1: coy about it and it wasn't him at all. I
- 23:35Speaker 1: wonder if it was this guy and that they maybe
- 23:38Speaker 1: like took a time, some time apart and then got
- 23:39Speaker 1: back together. I don't know. Those are all speculation and
- 23:43Speaker 1: we need to bring the questions. I'm very very interested
- 23:48Speaker 1: in Andy Dorfman's love life, so I won't forget it.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Uh hey, we we mentioned it last week. Actually, we
- 23:54Speaker 1: kind of argued back and forth if we thought Bachelor
- 23:58Speaker 1: in Paradise would happen. We wondered if it was going
- 24:01Speaker 1: to happen. People were starting to speculate that it wasn't
- 24:04Speaker 1: gonna happen. But we now have some more info for
- 24:06Speaker 1: you because we promised you we would. So here's the headline,
- 24:10Speaker 1: Bachelor in Paradise. Everything we know this according to Mary Claire. Yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 1: so I had mentioned last week that like the timing
- 24:19Speaker 1: was weird. I was like, why don't they just start
- 24:21Speaker 1: filming Bachelor in Paradise in May and then we get
- 24:25Speaker 1: that season? Why do another Bachelor? Why do this bachelortte
- 24:28Speaker 1: season now when we already have Michelle's Bachelortte season to
- 24:32Speaker 1: pick men from, and then we have, of course this
- 24:36Speaker 1: pass Bachelor's season to pick women from. And then you said,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I don't know, I I get canceled. Well, that was
- 24:42Speaker 1: a speculation, especially back in October and Reality. Steve mentioned
- 24:46Speaker 1: that because of the ratings, he was thinking that it
- 24:50Speaker 1: might get canceled. But this does not seem to be
- 24:54Speaker 1: the truth of the matter, because right now it looks
- 24:59Speaker 1: like producers are making calls to Bachelor lum seeing if
- 25:02Speaker 1: they're interested in being in the upcoming season. We just
- 25:05Speaker 1: don't really know when it'll air. It'll probably be airing
- 25:08Speaker 1: later than usual, like maybe October time after the Bachelorette airs,
- 25:14Speaker 1: And I just find that that's gonna be maybe a
- 25:17Speaker 1: little bit weird feeling because Paradise is such a summer show.
- 25:20Speaker 1: But but who knows. I guess we'll just experiment a bit.
- 25:23Speaker 1: It's gonna be interesting to see. I mean, I think
- 25:25Speaker 1: a lot of people um are intrigued. You know, the
- 25:30Speaker 1: Paradise might have low ratings, but the people that watch
- 25:34Speaker 1: it really engage in it. And there's there's a difference
- 25:37Speaker 1: between now, I think on television where people just watch
- 25:40Speaker 1: the show and it gets great ratings, or people reacting
- 25:44Speaker 1: um and taking action on the show. And I think
- 25:45Speaker 1: Paradise gets a lot of social media attention. People love
- 25:49Speaker 1: talking about writing articles on it. I would still I mean,
- 25:52Speaker 1: last week I said, hey, I don't know if it's
- 25:54Speaker 1: going to happen. Uh, As I spent more time this
- 25:57Speaker 1: week thinking about it. I'd be shocked if it didn't
- 26:00Speaker 1: happen because it is such a involved show and people
- 26:05Speaker 1: love watching it. It's very loyal following. Yeah, it's definitely
- 26:09Speaker 1: like if you're talking impressions versus engagement, it gets a
- 26:13Speaker 1: ton of engagement if we were like talking in social
- 26:16Speaker 1: media terms, and I can I can say that I
- 26:20Speaker 1: personally know that some of these girls are getting calls
- 26:23Speaker 1: for producers, so they're in the casting process. Well, that's
- 26:27Speaker 1: exciting for so many. Now, we do have some very
- 26:30Speaker 1: interesting headlines that I didn't think we'd be talking about
- 26:33Speaker 1: this week, but we they came up. Um, they were
- 26:37Speaker 1: given to us, and I think they're interesting to talk about.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Katie Thurston and John Hersey reflect This is the headline
- 26:45Speaker 1: on Blake Moyne's reaction to the romance twelve Days. A
- 26:48Speaker 1: messy backlash that Katie received is also involved in this article,
- 26:53Speaker 1: and they also touch on do they feel pressure to
- 26:56Speaker 1: get engaged? All this is according to US Weekly, But
- 26:59Speaker 1: again here the things that we're gonna talk about as
- 27:01Speaker 1: actually breaks it down. Katie Thurston and John Hersey's relationship.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Also Blake Moyne's reaction to the romance the twelve Days
- 27:08Speaker 1: of Messy if you remember Katie did just a while
- 27:11Speaker 1: back and kind of the backlashes she got for that,
- 27:13Speaker 1: And do they feel pressure to get engaged? Okay, so
- 27:17Speaker 1: let's start with do they feel pressure to get engaged? Uh.
- 27:20Speaker 1: She says that because the bachelor process is so fast,
- 27:24Speaker 1: people just expected to come. But it's not anything that
- 27:28Speaker 1: they feel pressure to to go into right now. They're
- 27:31Speaker 1: in the normal world, she said, not on a dating show,
- 27:35Speaker 1: So after a few months, that's just not what they're
- 27:37Speaker 1: thinking of right now, and they're very much mentally living
- 27:41Speaker 1: in the quote normal world. Um. As far as Blake goes,
- 27:47Speaker 1: John said that they're kind of disappointed in the way
- 27:50Speaker 1: that the Blake stuff has gone down because he's been
- 27:53Speaker 1: relatively open about how things unfolded on podcasts, and he
- 27:59Speaker 1: said that they was no overlap in the relationships and
- 28:03Speaker 1: that he actually hung out with Blake for like twelve
- 28:06Speaker 1: to eighteen hours. They say, Um, when Katie and Blake
- 28:11Speaker 1: were together and John was with another girl and they
- 28:14Speaker 1: had a lot of fun together, they didn't escape Room said,
- 28:16Speaker 1: they hung out all day. Um, So it was disappointing
- 28:20Speaker 1: when he heard Blake on all these podcasts saying things like, oh,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I wasn't putting Katie wasn't putting effort into our relationship.
- 28:29Speaker 1: That's why it was failing and falling apart. And then
- 28:32Speaker 1: he goes, well, at John says, as Katie's good friend
- 28:36Speaker 1: at the time, I saw how much effort she was
- 28:39Speaker 1: putting into that relationship and how much she was trying
- 28:43Speaker 1: to make it work and it wasn't just one sided.
- 28:46Speaker 1: And he said that was really upsetting to see. So
- 28:49Speaker 1: then the other reason that Katie in the whole twelve
- 28:52Speaker 1: Days of Messy thing, let me start that fresh game.
- 28:55Speaker 1: So then the twelve Days of Messy thing, why Katie
- 28:58Speaker 1: and John went public so quickly? She's they said that, Um,
- 29:02Speaker 1: once they explored their connection a little bit and they
- 29:05Speaker 1: knew that was gonna be something that was going to
- 29:07Speaker 1: be long term. They didn't want to have to sneak around.
- 29:10Speaker 1: They didn't wanna like, they didn't want people to like
- 29:15Speaker 1: see them in public and then like wonder like with
- 29:18Speaker 1: their own agenda or narrative. They just wanted to be
- 29:20Speaker 1: out there and open with what was going on. And
- 29:23Speaker 1: I guess that was smart because if they did hide
- 29:25Speaker 1: it more, then thereould probably even additional speculation that there
- 29:29Speaker 1: was some overlap in the relationships. You know, obviously both
- 29:35Speaker 1: sides I think have been you know, open since the breakup.
- 29:39Speaker 1: And these breakups are messy. I mean they are, They're
- 29:41Speaker 1: already in the public light. Uh, they're already talked about. Um,
- 29:46Speaker 1: people are being asked about. I mean, I can't you know,
- 29:50Speaker 1: be on either person's side here because here's the truth
- 29:52Speaker 1: of it. Blake has his own things going on now.
- 29:56Speaker 1: So if he goes in a podcast, he's gonna be
- 29:58Speaker 1: asked about Katie. Like I know from personal experience, you're
- 30:02Speaker 1: if you like it or not, you're gonna be asked
- 30:03Speaker 1: about whoever it is that you're with from the show.
- 30:06Speaker 1: That's a thing, and it's gonna happen for years to come,
- 30:10Speaker 1: and you're gonna find like a few things to say
- 30:12Speaker 1: and a lot of things not to say, to give
- 30:15Speaker 1: like some type of fair response and truthful response without
- 30:18Speaker 1: you know, maybe throwing the other person on the bus. Now,
- 30:21Speaker 1: Katie and John they're dating, like you expect them to
- 30:24Speaker 1: hide it, not to be out there about no like
- 30:26Speaker 1: you should. They should be out there. They should have fun,
- 30:28Speaker 1: they should be exploring this thing. I just think, uh,
- 30:31Speaker 1: it's one of the interesting things that happened in this
- 30:33Speaker 1: world as people's feelings are real legitimately really hurt, because
- 30:37Speaker 1: there are still emotions at play and there's still history
- 30:40Speaker 1: at play. And that's something for all of us to
- 30:42Speaker 1: realize as we watch these things unfold, is these are
- 30:44Speaker 1: still humans trying to figure out how to find love.
- 30:46Speaker 1: It's it's not easy, so um, you know, but they're
- 30:52Speaker 1: talking about it, and that's something that we're gonna talk
- 30:54Speaker 1: about here. They talk about it, we're gonna talk about it. Well,
- 30:56Speaker 1: speaking of talking about it, Tasia Adams confirms a b
- 31:00Speaker 1: C gave her and Caitlin Bristow a heads up about
- 31:03Speaker 1: Jesse Palmer hosting The Bachelorette is according to US Weekly
- 31:07Speaker 1: as well, she said, Caitlin and I both had a
- 31:10Speaker 1: phone called weeks prior saying that they were going to
- 31:12Speaker 1: go move forward with Jesse, so it wasn't really a
- 31:14Speaker 1: surprise when it was announced in the finale that he
- 31:16Speaker 1: would also be hosting The Bachelorette. She says, I'm very
- 31:19Speaker 1: happy for him. I feel like he's been so sweet
- 31:21Speaker 1: and kind to me. So I wish everybody that takes
- 31:23Speaker 1: that position the very best, and I'm excited to see
- 31:25Speaker 1: the new season. Caitlin Bristow is also speaking about UM
- 31:40Speaker 1: how she felt triggered by The Bachelor at having two
- 31:44Speaker 1: leads for season nineteen. It's an interesting common I'm excited
- 31:48Speaker 1: to hear about the article actually because obviously I was
- 31:50Speaker 1: on that season. Um, I told you last week. I
- 31:52Speaker 1: do think it's going to be interesting, to say the least,
- 31:57Speaker 1: on how they do this to Bachelor. I think I
- 31:59Speaker 1: don't know how it works out and how it works
- 32:01Speaker 1: out well without just adding more messiness and more drama
- 32:04Speaker 1: to the situation. But I also will say it will
- 32:07Speaker 1: probably make very interesting and fun television. But it's it's
- 32:12Speaker 1: interesting to hear Caitlin's response, So Ashley, why why is
- 32:15Speaker 1: she saying this? Well, it makes me feel kind of
- 32:18Speaker 1: guilty for being excited about the two bachelorettes because back
- 32:22Speaker 1: during Caitlin's originals, you know, were not original season. I
- 32:25Speaker 1: guess that was Chris's, but her bachelorette season with you,
- 32:28Speaker 1: I felt like it was going to be her and
- 32:31Speaker 1: the entire time, and I was excited to see how
- 32:33Speaker 1: they were going to navigate that how guys were going
- 32:35Speaker 1: to date one and then there's gonna be dates with
- 32:36Speaker 1: another and blah blah blah blah. But then it ended
- 32:39Speaker 1: up being eliminating bachelorette, which is like the most hurtful thing,
- 32:43Speaker 1: and we we all like are not really down for
- 32:46Speaker 1: the way that that unfolded. But I thought, with there
- 32:48Speaker 1: being to the entire time like it's gonna be with um,
- 32:52Speaker 1: Gabby and Rachel, this could be fun. But then Caitlin
- 32:55Speaker 1: says this, and I'm like, oh darny. She totally has
- 32:58Speaker 1: a point. So she said, is, oh my gosh, can
- 33:01Speaker 1: a woman have her own season? First it was first
- 33:06Speaker 1: it was her season. She was like, it was Claire
- 33:08Speaker 1: and then she was gone, so that it had to
- 33:10Speaker 1: be Tasia two in one season, and then there was Katie,
- 33:14Speaker 1: back to back with Michelle's season, and now we have
- 33:16Speaker 1: two bachelorttes again, can't it just be, you know, one bachelorette?
- 33:23Speaker 1: She was, I just want somebody to have their own season,
- 33:26Speaker 1: and I just don't want them to be pitted against
- 33:28Speaker 1: each other. I don't know how the format is going
- 33:31Speaker 1: to work. I don't know what their little system is
- 33:33Speaker 1: gonna be like, but I know how two bachelorettes felt
- 33:36Speaker 1: with her, and it felt like being pitted against each
- 33:39Speaker 1: other for men to decide. She also said we could
- 33:43Speaker 1: all get weird on what's acceptable and what's not acceptable
- 33:46Speaker 1: in Bachelor world, because you know that that's a real
- 33:49Speaker 1: gray area. But I wish I was there for this
- 33:53Speaker 1: because I know how it feels, and yeah, that's so true.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I do like Jesse as a host, and put in
- 33:59Speaker 1: the case of there being two bachelorettes, it would have
- 34:03Speaker 1: been appropriate for Tassia and Caitlin to be host, especially Caitlin,
- 34:09Speaker 1: but yeah, Tasia was also part of a two bachelortte season,
- 34:12Speaker 1: so when I think about like that, it's kind of
- 34:15Speaker 1: confusing why they wouldn't just stick with Jesse for the
- 34:18Speaker 1: Bachelor and the girls for the Bachelorette. It is confusing, um.
- 34:23Speaker 1: And it is interesting to hear Caitlin's take because she
- 34:25Speaker 1: obviously has been there and she knows, and it's interesting
- 34:28Speaker 1: to hear this take also because Caitlin was the one
- 34:30Speaker 1: that walked away being the bachelorette during that season, so
- 34:34Speaker 1: if she still felt like that was odd to, you know,
- 34:38Speaker 1: remove Britt from that season, I can't imagine how she
- 34:41Speaker 1: feels to either share a season um, or how Britt
- 34:44Speaker 1: maybe feels about this whole situation. I'm sure Brett's fine,
- 34:47Speaker 1: she seems very happy, but I do think it's odd. Um.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I also believe Ashley. Just my prediction, UM is that
- 34:56Speaker 1: because of the backlash. Now, I'm sure the batchel are
- 35:00Speaker 1: at and the Bachelor franchise knows they're gonna get backlash
- 35:02Speaker 1: because of two bachelorettes, Like that's not beyond them. They
- 35:06Speaker 1: they're very they're very like aware that this is not
- 35:08Speaker 1: gonna just sit easy with everybody of a feeling we're
- 35:11Speaker 1: gonna see a double Bachelor season probably following this. Oh
- 35:17Speaker 1: smart smart man. Very very odd. And here's here's what
- 35:25Speaker 1: I think, Actuley, I'm all for that. Um, tell me
- 35:29Speaker 1: what you think. I'm all for it, because yet, I mean,
- 35:31Speaker 1: Caitlin's right, like there's been a lot of double bachelorrettes
- 35:33Speaker 1: here coming up. I just hope this isn't a trend,
- 35:36Speaker 1: like I think it takes away from the show a lot.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I mean, you know, we want to watch, um, the
- 35:43Speaker 1: leads journey if it's a Bachelor Bachelor. I hope we
- 35:46Speaker 1: don't start having like two or three or whatever Bachelor's
- 35:49Speaker 1: and Bachelorettes every season. It just feels like it would
- 35:52Speaker 1: be hard to like get emotionally invested into. Yeah, I
- 35:58Speaker 1: don't know how much to elaborate on that set for like,
- 36:00Speaker 1: I hope so too, because while this is cool for
- 36:04Speaker 1: one season maybe even two with the Bachelor, I don't
- 36:08Speaker 1: want it to be the norm. I don't either. It's
- 36:11Speaker 1: less romantic, but it is less romantic, That's what I think. Um,
- 36:15Speaker 1: But we'll watch it and we'll see how it goes.
- 36:16Speaker 1: It's going to be intriguing for this next season. Well, um,
- 36:19Speaker 1: speaking of the norm, this has been the norm well
- 36:22Speaker 1: since we were on the show. But Jesse Palmer thinks
- 36:25Speaker 1: on set Psychologist, he came out and said, this, uh
- 36:28Speaker 1: are very necessary. Now, this was a part of our
- 36:32Speaker 1: show and we were doing it actley, So why is
- 36:34Speaker 1: he speaking about this now? It seems like, well, mental
- 36:38Speaker 1: health is being talked about more than even when we
- 36:40Speaker 1: were on the show. And I also feel like fans
- 36:45Speaker 1: have just been asking a lot about it. I think
- 36:48Speaker 1: that because mental health is talked about more now, people
- 36:52Speaker 1: have been asking the question like, is this time in
- 36:56Speaker 1: which people are like got the spotlight on them and
- 37:00Speaker 1: it's highly emotional, like is there somebody to guide them?
- 37:04Speaker 1: Is there just producers to talk to, or is there
- 37:07Speaker 1: somebody who can really help them if they are mentally struggling?
- 37:12Speaker 1: And yeah, then and I have talked about it multiple times,
- 37:15Speaker 1: but now Jesse is saying this. He goes, psychologists are
- 37:19Speaker 1: always there in the moment, talking to the Bachelor and
- 37:23Speaker 1: the Bachelor and the contestants to keep everyone as mentally
- 37:25Speaker 1: healthy as possible. UM. ABC has made mental health care
- 37:30Speaker 1: a massive priority UM because it seems like some of
- 37:37Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation, the alum themselves, have complained about mental health
- 37:42Speaker 1: after the show and the show's lack of resources. So
- 37:46Speaker 1: I think what Jesse's trying to say is that there's
- 37:49Speaker 1: always somebody there during filming UM and then there and
- 37:55Speaker 1: then he also says that they're always trying to take
- 37:57Speaker 1: steps to benefit their CASTMT verse. I can just speak
- 38:01Speaker 1: on experience. I didn't really need like a lot of
- 38:04Speaker 1: help during UM the aftermath of the show. I actually
- 38:09Speaker 1: handled the online criticism relatively well, being that I did
- 38:14Speaker 1: have some episodes where I got a lot of hate,
- 38:17Speaker 1: but I would just vent a lot to family and friends.
- 38:22Speaker 1: But on the show, I definitely used the a psychic ause.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Psychologists a lot in Paradise. I love talking to her
- 38:31Speaker 1: and it made me feel so much better to vent
- 38:33Speaker 1: to somebody who didn't have like any sort of agenda.
- 38:38Speaker 1: But it's not and they're always there watching supposedly they're
- 38:41Speaker 1: like always in the back room making sure like everything
- 38:45Speaker 1: is like really really okay. What was your experience with
- 38:50Speaker 1: the psychologist. They switched psychologists during Bachelor Winter Games, and
- 38:55Speaker 1: I didn't feel as connected or close to that one,
- 38:57Speaker 1: So I didn't really talk norder. Did I think I
- 38:59Speaker 1: needed it as much then? And same with the Bachelor,
- 39:03Speaker 1: like they checked, I checked. You know, you check in
- 39:05Speaker 1: with them multiple times throughout the process, especially depending on
- 39:08Speaker 1: how long you're there for. But I didn't really use
- 39:11Speaker 1: it as a resource, like as somebody to really confide
- 39:13Speaker 1: him until Paradise, you know, I uh, I struggled. I
- 39:18Speaker 1: still do, like I can get pretty down um And
- 39:21Speaker 1: so I I didn't use the Bachelor psychologist. I hired
- 39:26Speaker 1: my own. Did they did you bring them during the
- 39:31Speaker 1: show they're in the show and the filming of the show,
- 39:34Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't speak to the psychologist. I think
- 39:38Speaker 1: they had to do a check in once, but it
- 39:40Speaker 1: was just a check in. Honestly, actually, I felt like
- 39:44Speaker 1: I recognized it. I was so kind of confused and
- 39:50Speaker 1: my mind was so emotional and I was so over
- 39:53Speaker 1: my head, like unlike I there was no prep for
- 39:57Speaker 1: for me to be the bachelor that I just kind
- 39:59Speaker 1: of recognized, hey, like I'm not good. Um. And so
- 40:03Speaker 1: as soon as I got home and then I started
- 40:07Speaker 1: to you know, access some resources pastoral counseling, um, personal
- 40:13Speaker 1: like more secular counseling, like really started to dive into
- 40:15Speaker 1: because I knew, I knew I was going to need it.
- 40:17Speaker 1: And I have a feeling that my friends I can't
- 40:19Speaker 1: remember probably had encouraged me to do that. Um. But yeah,
- 40:23Speaker 1: I mean I think it's important to have. I think
- 40:24Speaker 1: it's a great resource. I just don't remember ever using them,
- 40:27Speaker 1: so I don't remember remember being around really yeah, I
- 40:32Speaker 1: don't remember. Maybe as the lead, you're so busy that
- 40:35Speaker 1: it's just not in front of mine. Maybe you just
- 40:37Speaker 1: don't even think about it. M so, but it's that's
- 40:42Speaker 1: that's sad. I loved the psychiatist. I loved her. I
- 40:47Speaker 1: would just so advent to her. I really felt like
- 40:49Speaker 1: she understood me. It was also my only time like
- 40:53Speaker 1: doing therapy at all, if you want to call it therapy.
- 40:57Speaker 1: It was like five minutes like in the bungalow. Well,
- 41:00Speaker 1: it's a great note for any future contestants is to
- 41:02Speaker 1: access that resource because it is there, uh, and it
- 41:06Speaker 1: is available. Uh. And it is a safe space and
- 41:09Speaker 1: a place that doesn't typically have very safe spaces. It
- 41:13Speaker 1: is a safe space for just letting some things out.
- 41:16Speaker 1: And I think it's very great to use. Um. Okay,
- 41:20Speaker 1: transitioning a little bit. You were talking about a little
- 41:23Speaker 1: bit about Paradise there. Blake Moyn's we just talked about
- 41:25Speaker 1: a second ago says he would never say never to
- 41:28Speaker 1: Bachelor in Paradise after Katie Thurston split. The quote is
- 41:32Speaker 1: can't wait to get on that beach? Oh okay, Well
- 41:36Speaker 1: he's being sarcastic. He was doing something you know on Instagram,
- 41:39Speaker 1: Q and I and somebody said are you going to
- 41:42Speaker 1: do Paradise and like when are we going to see
- 41:44Speaker 1: you on our TV screens again? And he was like, duh,
- 41:46Speaker 1: Paradise counted down, can't wait to get on that beach,
- 41:49Speaker 1: get back into it. And I think that that would
- 41:52Speaker 1: be like, you know, most people would think, yeah, Blake's
- 41:56Speaker 1: totally going to make an appearance. He made an appearance
- 41:58Speaker 1: on Katie season ended up winning the thing, so uh,
- 42:02Speaker 1: seems natural that he would give it a shot in Paradise.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But he says probably not. Never say never, but not
- 42:08Speaker 1: unless it was a great opportunity for something. But I'd
- 42:13Speaker 1: like to not. What do you mean a great opportunity
- 42:17Speaker 1: for something. It's a great opportunity for love, Blake. Yeah,
- 42:21Speaker 1: come on, Blake, open that heart up again, buddy, It's
- 42:24Speaker 1: worth it. I think he'd be great on the beach.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I think people would be very, very interested. Um in
- 42:31Speaker 1: his story. Well, final headline of today, it's about Ashley
- 42:34Speaker 1: Hubert and JP Rosenbaum. Um. We talked about them, uh
- 42:39Speaker 1: having a divorce just a few years ago. Well, Ashley
- 42:43Speaker 1: is now opening up about her boyfriend. Um, it seems
- 42:47Speaker 1: like it's getting worse serious, seems like it is out
- 42:50Speaker 1: there in the public now. Um. This according to US Weekly, Ashley,
- 42:55Speaker 1: I can only tell us about it. I was surprised
- 42:58Speaker 1: to know that she had a boyfriend, so she hasn't
- 43:01Speaker 1: really shared it on social media, which is why I
- 43:03Speaker 1: didn't really know. She has been with him for almost
- 43:07Speaker 1: a year now, but she says that the first four
- 43:09Speaker 1: or five months she was in denial about the relationship,
- 43:12Speaker 1: which is why she feels like it probably went so fast,
- 43:15Speaker 1: like how like she blinked and it's been a year.
- 43:17Speaker 1: She says that she's probably not gonna get married again
- 43:21Speaker 1: one day. She says, marriage complicates things. I'd rather just
- 43:24Speaker 1: love someone and choose to be with them. She ended
- 43:27Speaker 1: up introducing him to her kids, um, which are four,
- 43:32Speaker 1: I mean four which are seven and five, about nine
- 43:37Speaker 1: months into the relationship, so relatively recently, and for some reason.
- 43:41Speaker 1: She doesn't know how it happened, but but they both
- 43:43Speaker 1: thought that he was their babysitter and they said he
- 43:46Speaker 1: was the best babysitter ever. Hey, I mean that's that's
- 43:51Speaker 1: some brinie points right there, right, actually introduces them and
- 43:56Speaker 1: they think it's a babysitting and they love the babysitting.
- 43:59Speaker 1: That works. Well, she said it's one of my friends,
- 44:01Speaker 1: so she didn't say this is my boyfriend. Yeah. Yeah, well, uh,
- 44:05Speaker 1: that is the big update. I actually saw that on
- 44:07Speaker 1: the news, like on um one of the website see yeah,
- 44:11Speaker 1: we were some of today or Google was Ashley I
- 44:14Speaker 1: was talking about her boyfriends. So it's out there in
- 44:16Speaker 1: public now and will continue to follow that story as
- 44:18Speaker 1: it continues to progress. Well, that's all the headlines we
- 44:22Speaker 1: haveter you day. It's a lot of headlines, a lot
- 44:24Speaker 1: going on in Bachelor Nation. We talked about engagements, to
- 44:29Speaker 1: past romance, to Bachelor in Paradise, to the mental health
- 44:35Speaker 1: initiatives that the show is trying to implement. It's a
- 44:38Speaker 1: lot to going on in Bachelor Nation and will continue
- 44:40Speaker 1: to bring it to right here on the Almost Famous podcast.
- 44:43Speaker 1: But until next time, I've Been Been, I've Been actually
- 44:48Speaker 1: bio followed the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcasts
- 44:52Speaker 1: on I Heart Radio or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
