- 0:00Speaker 1: Please welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Hey is Ali Langdon here from a Current Affair and
- 0:05Speaker 2: up for a logo. You can vote now for Ali
- 0:07Speaker 2: and a Current Affair at tvweeklogis dot com dot Are
- 0:11Speaker 2: you Ali Langdon joining us Live Morning All Morning?
- 0:14Speaker 3: Can I tell you I'm super stressed about this competition
- 0:17Speaker 3: with Brooklyn Don't.
- 0:19Speaker 1: You'll be fine.
- 0:21Speaker 2: We will get to that, right, we have this coming up.
- 0:24Speaker 2: You're both journalists, although we'll talk about the journalism skills
- 0:30Speaker 2: hosting a Current Affair. By the way, how many years
- 0:32Speaker 2: you've been doing it now?
- 0:32Speaker 4: This is into my fourth year.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, and we had some big journals before. You're
- 0:37Speaker 2: like Ray Martin hosting it. It must have been an honor
- 0:40Speaker 2: of a lifetime to come.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I mean Tracy Grimshaw, I share for seventeen years before
- 0:44Speaker 3: before I came in. So, I mean, the show's been
- 0:46Speaker 3: on air forever for fifty years, but I think they've
- 0:49Speaker 3: only had like five hosts.
- 0:51Speaker 4: So you're of no pressure, right, no pressure.
- 0:55Speaker 1: What are your favorite types of stories to do on there?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Would you build us?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Well?
- 0:59Speaker 3: Yeah, we do a couple of those, and you know,
- 1:02Speaker 3: we had a great one last week that's gone absolutely
- 1:04Speaker 3: nuts on Birdman. So the anonymous man who turns up
- 1:09Speaker 3: at four o'clock and feet thousands of birds and then
- 1:14Speaker 3: everyone goes insane because they've woken up at five.
- 1:17Speaker 1: He's just got like a bucket of birds seed.
- 1:19Speaker 3: That crazy lady from the Mary Poppins movie, you know,
- 1:22Speaker 3: she feeds the pigeons.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Did you find him? Have you tracked him down?
- 1:26Speaker 3: Oh, Maggie Rayworth has tracked him down. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:30Speaker 3: we found him.
- 1:31Speaker 4: So our next story will be the Birdman Unmasked.
- 1:35Speaker 2: What about like back in the day, used to do
- 1:38Speaker 2: you know, sort of the rocking up to people's homes
- 1:40Speaker 2: and or not homes, but you know, going to a
- 1:42Speaker 2: dodgy business and what do we call that when you
- 1:45Speaker 2: go up and confront them.
- 1:46Speaker 3: We call it a bounce. And it's still very much
- 1:49Speaker 3: a part of the job that we do. You know,
- 1:50Speaker 3: you talk to the victims, you talk to people who've
- 1:52Speaker 3: been ripped off, and then we're not happy leaving the
- 1:56Speaker 3: story there. We want to hunt that person down, the
- 1:59Speaker 3: stories to them and just you know what if nothing
- 2:01Speaker 3: else make them feel a little bit uncomfortable. Well, I mean,
- 2:05Speaker 3: I sit in the studio, I've got a dodgy nie.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I'm not allowed to chase anyone down the streets. Steve
- 2:12Speaker 3: Marshall had had a story on Monday night where he
- 2:16Speaker 3: had four bounces and one of them was a Supreme
- 2:20Speaker 3: Court judge.
- 2:22Speaker 4: And I mean not in that, not in.
- 2:24Speaker 3: His capacity as that in another capacity, but yeah, I
- 2:28Speaker 3: mean that that was that was bouncing on.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I always think a current affair gets a bad rap
- 2:33Speaker 1: in terms of like all they do is chase down
- 2:36Speaker 1: dodgy builders. But if there was no current affair, you
- 2:39Speaker 1: could have threatened your build up with going to a
- 2:42Speaker 1: current affair.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Literally, But it's more than that too, Like we get
- 2:45Speaker 3: results for people all the time, and it's the greatest
- 2:48Speaker 3: part of the terms. At the end of it, I
- 2:49Speaker 3: can say, hey, you know we've got this person there
- 2:51Speaker 3: nda is funding or we've done we've fixed this. The
- 2:54Speaker 3: insurance company is going to look at this claim where
- 2:56Speaker 3: someone's been living in a house full of mold for
- 2:58Speaker 3: years because they haven't they have been insurance didn't go
- 3:01Speaker 3: through properly. And it's a really, really nice feeling. It's
- 3:04Speaker 3: just that idea of just standing up for the little
- 3:07Speaker 3: guy and it comes with the power of the brand.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Like you threaten the current affair, we make a phone
- 3:12Speaker 3: call saying we're acquiring. It's amazing how quickly things do
- 3:16Speaker 3: turn around.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's unreal.
- 3:18Speaker 1: What about what.
- 3:19Speaker 3: You interviewed Bonnie Blue?
- 3:21Speaker 5: Didn't you?
- 3:21Speaker 4: I did that like that?
- 3:24Speaker 1: That was you must be a big supporter.
- 3:27Speaker 5: I know.
- 3:28Speaker 4: You know.
- 3:28Speaker 3: What was funny is that because I did so much
- 3:30Speaker 3: research on that and to get the tone right, not
- 3:33Speaker 3: to be that naky person, but also not to come
- 3:36Speaker 3: across as someone who supports what she's doing, but to
- 3:38Speaker 3: kind of get an insight into why and what happens
- 3:42Speaker 3: inside her brain. But I had to watch so much beforehand.
- 3:46Speaker 3: We're we're at a party about film. No no, no,
- 3:49Speaker 3: no no no, with mates with mates, with a one
- 3:51Speaker 3: of my husband's friends, and about a week beforehand, so
- 3:55Speaker 3: I says, what have you been up to? And I went, oh,
- 3:56Speaker 3: my gosh, I have watched more porn in the last
- 4:00Speaker 3: than any human shot.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Why did your husband's mates have to be there?
- 4:05Speaker 4: No, no, no no no. I wasn't no no.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I was at a party and I've been up to
- 4:10Speaker 3: and I'd been watching but I didn't give them any
- 4:12Speaker 3: context deliberately because I thought it. And my husband came
- 4:15Speaker 3: up going, what the hell are you telling my mates
- 4:18Speaker 3: and what are you watching? Yeah?
- 4:22Speaker 4: It was, it was. It was a dark duve and
- 4:25Speaker 4: I found it all very sad.
- 4:26Speaker 1: What do you think is going on in her mind?
- 4:29Speaker 4: You know?
- 4:29Speaker 3: The hard thing is like you you know, when she
- 4:32Speaker 3: turns around and says, I I love this and all like,
- 4:35Speaker 3: I don't see how that is possible.
- 4:37Speaker 4: I don't see.
- 4:38Speaker 3: But I also, as a woman, can't tell her how
- 4:41Speaker 3: she thinks or feels about it. I worry about in
- 4:45Speaker 3: years to come, how that how that sits.
- 4:49Speaker 1: With her and being pregnant now.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And yeah, but look, you know, and that's why that's
- 4:55Speaker 3: why she was an interesting Yeah, she would have been
- 4:59Speaker 3: who what would you say has been in the forty
- 5:01Speaker 3: years that you've been doing this your most memorable guest.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I would have to say Professor Richard.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Scolily, because it was just a beautiful friendship. He was
- 5:12Speaker 3: he I mean, he helped cure melanoma and then had
- 5:15Speaker 3: an incurable brain cancer, but putting his life on the
- 5:18Speaker 3: line as a guinea pig to try all these new
- 5:20Speaker 3: therapies and has moved science forward twenty years in doing so.
- 5:24Speaker 4: And he was just an incredible human.
- 5:27Speaker 3: And I've become really good mates with little Nikki Tadross
- 5:29Speaker 3: who was the little boy who lost his mum in
- 5:30Speaker 3: the sea. What helicopter crash and he was severely injured
- 5:34Speaker 3: and he is just a you know, a little darling.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And those they're the ones.
- 5:38Speaker 3: You know. There are lots that do stay with you,
- 5:40Speaker 3: but there are two that sort of became, you know,
- 5:42Speaker 3: great friends.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Now we're here. You're a good rapper? Are you a rapper?
- 5:48Speaker 4: I've won songs, but I kill it. Yeah, I mean
- 5:53Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever done it without a few drinks.
- 5:55Speaker 4: And luckily, oh I'm a drink so morning.
- 6:00Speaker 2: What is baby got pack?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Oh don't you enjoy.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It from the start with the oh my god, up sober? Yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 2: this will be interested.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I don't know the words enough.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Big butts and I can a lie. You bustns and
- 6:21Speaker 4: I when a girl was singing with any wasting.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Around things in your face, you get sprung. You gotta
- 6:26Speaker 3: pull up tough because you know that butt. It's tough.
- 6:28Speaker 4: It's deep in the juices, wear red. I hooked and
- 6:31Speaker 4: I can't stop staring.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Oh baby, I want to get witcher and take your
- 6:35Speaker 3: picture my homeboice tried to warm baby, but you got
- 6:39Speaker 3: make it feels so horty.

- 6:45Speaker 2: Jacob average group.

- 7:18Speaker 2: We're going to put you up against Brooklyn. Do you
- 7:20Speaker 2: think Brooklyn's a real journalists because no, no, no, no, apart
- 7:24Speaker 2: from the fact that he reads news on kiss you know,
- 7:26Speaker 2: which is not exactly a current affairs quite different.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Went to Uni, right, I dropped out of university.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Some of the greatest trains Brooklyn do.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Not go to university.
- 7:40Speaker 4: They're all billionaires. Though.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Can you say you're a real journalist if you don't
- 7:46Speaker 2: have the journalism degree?
- 7:48Speaker 4: Yes, I think you can. Yeah. I'm backing you on this.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Thank you, mainly because.
- 7:54Speaker 3: If I rubbish you right now and then you win,
- 7:57Speaker 3: who has egg on their face?
- 7:58Speaker 2: Well, let's see, we are going to Ali Langdon up
- 8:01Speaker 2: against Brooklyn, dropped out of university journalists.

- 8:47Speaker 4: There was there was a lot that went that went
- 8:50Speaker 4: through there. I'm just really worried how you've set this up.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Okay, So here's the deal. We got balloons each, three
- 8:56Speaker 2: balloons each. If you get a question right, you pop
- 8:59Speaker 2: the balloon.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Right, so we don't pop while we're answering.
- 9:03Speaker 2: No, you get it right, you get to pop. Yeah,
- 9:05Speaker 2: we understand. And they're all news based questions.

- 9:33Speaker 3: and read the paper.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Okay, what was the name of Quanas's record breaking twenty
- 9:39Speaker 2: four hours to London flight?
- 9:41Speaker 1: Yep, Project Sunrise, go on, pop the balloon?
