- 0:04Speaker 2: Stock up and save on your favorite beauty brands.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Half-price now at Chemist Warehouse.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Hello. Good morning, Mikey. Amy Gerard for Chemist Warehouse.
- 0:13Speaker 5: Hello.
- 0:13Speaker 4: You would have seen a little, well, a big announcement
- 0:16Speaker 4: for me yesterday, Amy.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Yes, I did.
- 0:18Speaker 4: Yes, out of the closet. Out of the radio closet.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Out of the radio closet. Do you want to share
- 0:25Speaker 2: the news with everyone?
- 0:26Speaker 4: Yeah, well, if you didn't see it on my socials,
- 0:27Speaker 4: Mikey Radio, there goes the bell.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'll give you one more bell and then it's getting confiscated.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Is that all I'm allowed?
- 0:34Speaker 6: Yep.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:35Speaker 7: No, so good news. Signed on to stay here with ARN.
- 0:38Speaker 7: Lots of talk about, oh, well, the breakfast shows and
- 0:41Speaker 7: all of that. I won't be part of the breakfast
- 0:43Speaker 7: show next year.
- 0:44Speaker 4: I was only ever brought in here.
- 0:45Speaker 7: A lot of people got carried away to fill in.
- 0:49Speaker 7: And I have helped out, I think it was, Jesus,
- 0:51Speaker 7: it was March.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Weren't you meant to just fill in for like four days, right?
- 0:54Speaker 7: Yeah, and it appears to be eight, nine months or
- 0:57Speaker 7: something like that. And I've done 15 years of Breakfast Radio.
- 1:01Speaker 7: So I'm more than happy to sleep in next year.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you're going to sleep in now.
- 1:06Speaker 8: But also you proved yourself and like, not that you
- 1:09Speaker 8: needed to prove yourself, but like you obviously did such
- 1:11Speaker 8: a good job filling in that they've gone, hey, we
- 1:13Speaker 8: actually can't let this guy go.
- 1:14Speaker 2: We're going to basically create a role for him.
- 1:16Speaker 7: Yep, so signed a deal to stay with ARN. You'll
- 1:19Speaker 7: hear me a lot on KISS.
- 1:20Speaker 4: All those details will roll out and you'll just hear me.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 1:23Speaker 4: You'll get sick of me. Do I get the bell now?
- 1:26Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 8: Go give your potty a shout out.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Yeah, my podcast Behind the Mic with Mike E is
- 1:31Speaker 7: coming to iHeart here. So they've taken that on board,
- 1:34Speaker 7: which I'm really excited about.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I've read the press release. You've got millions. You've got
- 1:39Speaker 2: millions of views.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Correct.
- 1:41Speaker 2: That's impressive. All right, that's enough.
- 1:45Speaker 7: So anyway, and I'll be here until the new show starts.
- 1:47Speaker 7: So you're not getting rid of me just yet.
- 1:49Speaker 4: You're stuck with me, Amy.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's okay. I'm all good with it. Congratulations.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Let's go to Sean. What's going on, man?
- 1:56Speaker 6: Yeah, good morning, guys.
- 1:57Speaker 9: Well, we're basically, big story around today, we're throwing away
- 2:01Speaker 9: a lot of food every day. Australians are apparently throwing
- 2:05Speaker 9: 29 million meals a day.
- 2:09Speaker 8: Are you the person who goes through the things in
- 2:12Speaker 8: the fridge and if it says, if the best before
- 2:15Speaker 8: date has passed, do you bin it?
- 2:17Speaker 7: No, yeah, I'm a bit funny, eh? Like, I feel
- 2:19Speaker 7: bad about wasting food. I went to an all-you-can-eat buffet
- 2:23Speaker 7: last night, one of those fancy ones.
- 2:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 4: And just the amount, like, people are pigs. You want
- 2:27Speaker 4: to see what people are like?
- 2:28Speaker 6: Yeah, go to a buffet.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I know, right? Standing around just chucking everything on their plate,
- 2:33Speaker 4: and then you look around, they don't eat at all.
- 2:34Speaker 4: And I feel bad about that. But leftovers.
- 2:38Speaker 7: Don't you have the intention of eating them and then
- 2:40Speaker 7: you don't?
- 2:41Speaker 2: That is me.
- 2:42Speaker 8: I will make like a huge big batch of spag
- 2:44Speaker 8: bol or beef stroganoff and I do.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I put a big container in the fridge.
- 2:49Speaker 8: I've got all the right intentions of using it the
- 2:51Speaker 8: following night and the night after that.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah. And then like four or five days go past
- 2:55Speaker 2: and it doesn't get eaten.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it doesn't, right?
- 2:58Speaker 2: It's really bad. My dad is the polar opposite of me.
- 3:01Speaker 8: He will pull out food out of the fridge and
- 3:03Speaker 8: it will say it expired like a week ago and
- 3:06Speaker 8: he's like.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Still good.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And he will eat anything and everything.
- 3:10Speaker 8: I remember going through their pantry once and there was
- 3:13Speaker 8: like jars of Vegemite from 2004.
- 3:15Speaker 10: Wow.
- 3:16Speaker 11: And I was like, I swear.
- 3:17Speaker 2: To God, this is not good for you.
- 3:19Speaker 4: That would be all right, wouldn't it? It's got a
- 3:21Speaker 4: lot of salt in it. I don't know.
- 3:23Speaker 6: It seems to be.
- 3:23Speaker 9: But Oz Harvest, so they're claiming that wastage happens at
- 3:28Speaker 9: three areas.
- 3:29Speaker 6: It happens at the farm.
- 3:30Speaker 9: The farms end up having to throw out stuff because
- 3:33Speaker 9: it's getting old. Then at the shops, the same thing
- 3:36Speaker 9: happens there.
- 3:36Speaker 6: The milk and all the bread and whatnot, that gets old.
- 3:40Speaker 9: And then at home, we're just– We're just constantly, like
- 3:42Speaker 9: you said, we're just throwing away stuff because it's out
- 3:45Speaker 9: of date.
- 3:45Speaker 6: But they want the federal government to implement something here.
- 3:49Speaker 9: To sort of get us all in line and go, hey,
- 3:52Speaker 9: we're throwing 29 million meals a day away.
- 3:55Speaker 6: Let's try and work on something. We're not doing this.
- 3:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, you even see, like, well, can't you, like,
- 4:00Speaker 7: restaurants and stuff, can't they, I don't know, package it up?
- 4:02Speaker 4: I mean, that is what Oz Harvest does.
- 4:04Speaker 2: One of my girlfriends has an app on her phone.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I don't know what it is.
- 4:07Speaker 8: But, you know, like, at the end of the day,
- 4:10Speaker 8: she does this thing where Baker's Delight, at the end
- 4:13Speaker 8: of the day, you've got to remember, because all their
- 4:14Speaker 8: bread and their rolls and everything's made fresh. And they
- 4:17Speaker 8: do this thing where they put out and you can
- 4:19Speaker 8: buy a bag and it's $ 10, but there's the equivalent
- 4:22Speaker 8: to $ 100.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Worth of Baker's Delight goods.
- 4:27Speaker 8: So I actually think they're really proactive in instead of
- 4:30Speaker 8: just throwing out all their bread and their finger buns
- 4:32Speaker 8: and their pull-aparts, they're saying, hey, we'll package up. 100 bags.
- 4:36Speaker 8: Everyone can come grab them for $ 10.
- 4:38Speaker 4: How good's a finger bun, by the way?
- 4:40Speaker 2: I love a finger bun.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Do you put butter on it?
- 4:44Speaker 2: No, I just raw dog it as it is.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Yeah, you do. You put it straight in your mouth.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Yes.
- 4:48Speaker 7: On the show, a brand new helpline from one of
- 4:51Speaker 7: our listeners. She thinks she's going to get dumped. So
- 4:55Speaker 7: we'll find out what's going on there. Australia's leading cyber
- 4:59Speaker 7: safety expert is going to join us about what you
- 5:02Speaker 7: need to do to keep your children safe online.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I know it's a big topic at the moment.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't wait to talk to her.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Yeah. Dr.
- 5:08Speaker 7: Kiss is coming on as well to answer your medical questions.
- 5:11Speaker 7: You can win thousands with our pop quiz. A chance
- 5:15Speaker 7: to drive away in a brand new car coming up.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Tradie versus Lady right now, $ 13, 106. Win a Levoit air
- 5:21Speaker 7: purifier worth $ 400. And before we get into the song,
- 5:26Speaker 7: I've got some feedback on my announcement.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 5:30Speaker 7: From who? D. 50UZA on my socials.
- 5:36Speaker 12: Instagram?
- 5:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 2: What did he say? Congratulations?
- 5:40Speaker 4: Not so much.
- 5:41Speaker 7: I've tried listening to Mikey a few times in the morning. However,
- 5:46Speaker 7: it infuriates me the way he always talks over the
- 5:50Speaker 7: beginning of the songs.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I swear Nat got the same feedback.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Have you, Nat?
- 5:56Speaker 6: No, I sung over the song.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Mine's talking.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I wonder if it's the same guy.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Is his name Neil?
- 6:02Speaker 11: Once again, Neil, I cannot express how sorry I am.
- 6:06Speaker 7: It's not a Neil. He should stop talking before the
- 6:08Speaker 7: music starts. Whenever a song begins and I hear him
- 6:12Speaker 7: talking over it, I switch to another station.
- 6:16Speaker 4: And stay there.
- 6:17Speaker 7: If it wasn't for Mikey talking over songs, I think
- 6:21Speaker 7: I would be a Kiss listener.
- 6:22Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 6:23Speaker 8: I mean, I feel like you were only ever talking
- 6:25Speaker 8: over the last... Well, look, I'm talking over the song now.
- 6:29Speaker 11: Should we hear what it sounds like without talking over
- 6:31Speaker 11: it at all?
- 6:31Speaker 6: And then he can hear how awkward that is.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Okay. Like, roll it out.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Announce the song and then raw dog the intro.
- 6:38Speaker 13: Okay.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Okay. Oh, it's... This is, by the way, I'm not
- 6:42Speaker 4: the only one in radio that does this.
- 6:43Speaker 11: Yeah, it's called, yeah, it goes against everything we're ever taught.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But let's give it a crack.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Maybe we've all been wrong.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But let's appease this guy. We want him as a listener.
- 6:50Speaker 4: All right, then. Okay, let's see how awful and flat
- 6:53Speaker 4: this would sound.
- 6:54Speaker 2: All right.
- 6:55Speaker 7: And you can get yourself a Levoit air purifier worth
- 6:58Speaker 7: over $ 400. Let's get into tradie versus lady right now.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Good morning, Karina.
- 7:04Speaker 14: Hello.
- 7:05Speaker 15: Hello, morning.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Morning. Oh, so I love that we get so many
- 7:09Speaker 2: nurses for this game.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Well, it's this time of the morning, right? They're either
- 7:13Speaker 4: on the way home or.
- 7:14Speaker 16: Yes.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Are you on the way home or what are you doing?
- 7:16Speaker 2: Are you on the way home or on the way there?
- 7:17Speaker 3: On the way home.
- 7:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Oh, you've done night shift. Are you shattered?
- 7:25Speaker 15: I am very tired.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Oh, you poor thing. And you work in the emergency
- 7:29Speaker 2: department as well. So you'd get all kinds of.
- 7:33Speaker 8: I remember one of my girlfriends works as a nurse
- 7:35Speaker 8: and she has so many funny stories about things that
- 7:40Speaker 8: she finds up men's backsides.
- 7:42Speaker 4: They fall over a lot on Coke bottles and stuff,
- 7:45Speaker 4: don't they, Karina?
- 7:45Speaker 15: Oh, yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 14: All the old men love to fall down in the shower.
- 7:49Speaker 6: Yes.
- 7:51Speaker 7: No one ever believes them. But does anyone just walk
- 7:53Speaker 7: in there and go, look, I put this up my butt?
- 7:56Speaker 7: Or does everyone have an excuse?
- 7:59Speaker 14: Nah, they've all got excuses.
- 8:00Speaker 8: I was going to say, I feel like everyone would
- 8:03Speaker 8: turn up with an excuse.
- 8:04Speaker 14: Some of them come in and they're almost like proud
- 8:06Speaker 14: as well.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Look at the size of this.
- 8:09Speaker 6: Yeah, jeez.
- 8:10Speaker 2: All right, Karina, you are married with four kids. You
- 8:14Speaker 2: drive an LDV D90.
- 8:16Speaker 8: I've never even heard of that car. You obviously need
- 8:20Speaker 8: like a minivan, right?
- 8:21Speaker 13: Yeah, pretty much, yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, with four kids. And what happened to
- 8:26Speaker 2: you on your hens up in the Hunter?
- 8:29Speaker 14: I fell down the stairs and broke my leg.
- 8:31Speaker 6: As you do.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Your hands wasn't like a week before your wedding, was it?
- 8:39Speaker 13: It was a month before.
- 8:41Speaker 12: So that was okay.
- 8:43Speaker 2: No way. So were you in a cast?
- 8:45Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 13: A moon boot.
- 8:47Speaker 6: A moon boot.
- 8:48Speaker 4: With your wedding dress. Did you make sure all the
- 8:51Speaker 4: photos just didn't include the moon boot? They were like up?
- 8:54Speaker 17: Yeah. Yeah?
- 8:55Speaker 13: Yeah, take it off in the photos.
- 8:57Speaker 7: I hate, man, I had a moon boot once. I
- 8:59Speaker 7: broke my ankle because I was drunk and slipped out
- 9:01Speaker 7: of a spa.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 7: And the doctor was like, you've got to wear a
- 9:04Speaker 7: moon boot.
- 9:04Speaker 4: I was like, no.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Oh, my God. I saw a mum.
- 9:06Speaker 18: It's so itchy to wear.
- 9:08Speaker 13: It's so itchy, right?
- 9:10Speaker 8: I saw a mum yesterday at my kid's school disco
- 9:12Speaker 8: and she was in a moon boot.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I said, what did you do? She said, you wouldn't
- 9:16Speaker 2: believe it, but my daughter had an ice skating party and.
- 9:18Speaker 8: I specifically didn't get on the ice rink because I
- 9:22Speaker 8: didn't want to cause myself any injuries because, you know,
- 9:25Speaker 8: you hit the ice, you go down pretty hard.
- 9:27Speaker 2: We don't bounce.
- 9:28Speaker 8: She said she was standing on the edge of the
- 9:30Speaker 8: ice rink just watching her kids. Somebody ran into her.
- 9:34Speaker 8: with the ice skate and broke the back of her ankle.
- 9:37Speaker 2: So she was in a moon boot anyway. Wasn't even skating.
- 9:40Speaker 4: And Nat, you had two.
- 9:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I had two.
- 9:43Speaker 11: Remember when I broke both my feet?
- 9:46Speaker 4: I was walking around with two. You know what, though?
- 9:48Speaker 6: Yeah, both.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I'm an idiot.
- 9:49Speaker 13: Don't worry.
- 9:49Speaker 11: But it's actually better because to find a shoe that
- 9:52Speaker 11: matches the height of a moon boot is actually quite difficult.
- 9:55Speaker 2: It's like an air force or something.
- 9:56Speaker 11: Sometimes a moon boot really throws your back out.
- 10:00Speaker 6: There you go.
- 10:01Speaker 8: All right, Karina, weighing in at 77 kgs.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Read the Karina's report. It's not a coroner's report, it's
- 10:13Speaker 2: Karina's report. It took me a.
- 10:15Speaker 4: While to get that one.
- 10:16Speaker 15: You got there.
- 10:17Speaker 4: I still don't, yeah, no, I do get it. Danny, hello.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Morning, Danny.
- 10:20Speaker 16: Hey, what's up?
- 10:21Speaker 4: How are you guys? Hey, good man.
- 10:23Speaker 7: You're a carpenter, just like Jesus, yeah? You drive a
- 10:28Speaker 7: Ford Raptor.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Uh-huh. Single. Oh, you're 19, mate.
- 10:34Speaker 16: Yes.
- 10:34Speaker 4: You've got to be single at 19, yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 10:37Speaker 7: Hey, what happened when you were 11? You got stung
- 10:40Speaker 7: by a blue bottle, mate.
- 10:42Speaker 12: Yeah, so when I was 11 and I was on
- 10:44Speaker 12: a family trip to the Gold Coast, I was at
- 10:46Speaker 12: the beach and obviously I felt something in my pants,
- 10:51Speaker 12: like near my thigh. I'm like, ah, what is that?
- 10:54Speaker 12: Like pain. And I start looking around the beach. I'm like,
- 10:58Speaker 12: oh my gosh, there's that many blue bottles. Like hopefully
- 11:02Speaker 12: I didn't get stung. And so then the rash started really,
- 11:05Speaker 12: really ramping up.
- 11:06Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 12: And then I got a mum and my mum came
- 11:09Speaker 12: to take a look. And she's like, I think you
- 11:12Speaker 12: got stung. I'm like, are you sure?
- 11:15Speaker 4: Where though?
- 11:16Speaker 12: On the thigh, but obviously the thigh gland is connected
- 11:19Speaker 12: to the balls.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Oh, you got blue balled.
- 11:23Speaker 12: Yeah, blue balls, blue bottles.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Oh, man, they are the worst.
- 11:26Speaker 2: They're the worst.
- 11:27Speaker 7: Yeah, and they come around fevers when they... Didn't your
- 11:29Speaker 7: dad urinate on you?
- 11:30Speaker 3: Yeah, he did.
- 11:32Speaker 8: He did a wee on me because he thought it
- 11:34Speaker 8: was going to help with the sting.
- 11:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:36Speaker 2: He thought it took the edge off. Apparently, it didn't.
- 11:39Speaker 7: I'm amazed by that story when we did it. Because
- 11:41Speaker 7: he didn't, like, wee into something and pour it on you.
- 11:43Speaker 7: He just got his doodle out.
- 11:44Speaker 8: He did, yeah, just directly onto my legs.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Did.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Your dad didn't do that to you, Danny?
- 11:49Speaker 12: No.
- 11:51Speaker 16: Pardon?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Your dad didn't wee on you?
- 11:52Speaker 12: No, he actually didn't. It's probably a good thing he didn't.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Well, he was there with his mum. I mean, mum
- 12:00Speaker 4: couldn't wait.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Yuck.
- 12:04Speaker 6: All right, weighing in at 89 kilos.
- 12:06Speaker 4: It's Blue Ball Bottle Danny.
- 12:08Speaker 7: All right, mate, Amy's got your question.
- 12:13Speaker 2: All right, good luck, Danny. What does the brand La
- 12:16Speaker 2: Roche-Posay sell?
- 12:19Speaker 4: Perfumes.
- 12:21Speaker 2: No.
- 12:21Speaker 4: No. You said it so confidently too.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I know. It's skincare. They also sell sunscreen, but yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 2: they're big on the skincare.
- 12:30Speaker 6: All right.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Which of these is not a herb? Sage.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Oh, sorry. No. Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Sage, courgette, or tarragon?
- 12:40Speaker 4: Not a herb.
- 12:42Speaker 2: One of them is not a herb.
- 12:43Speaker 12: I'm going to guess the... The third one?
- 12:49Speaker 6: Tarragon.
- 12:50Speaker 2: No, that is a herb.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:52Speaker 2: It's courgette. That's the British courgette.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Shit.
- 12:57Speaker 4: So you got a British word for zucchini, yeah?
- 12:59Speaker 6: Yes.
- 13:00Speaker 4: You guys.
- 13:00Speaker 7: Hey, Pom, don't walk away. I don't know where he
- 13:03Speaker 7: was going during the segment. Use guys over in England.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Use guys. Good English.
- 13:10Speaker 4: You don't say zucchini.
- 13:11Speaker 6: We say courgette.
- 13:12Speaker 4: So what if I wanted to make a zucchini slice?
- 13:15Speaker 6: Definitely not courgette. Never courgette.
- 13:17Speaker 4: What if I was making a zucchini slice?
- 13:20Speaker 6: You couldn't. That would be unavailable. You could have a
- 13:22Speaker 6: courgette slice.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Courgette slice. That sounds wrong. They probably think ours sounds wrong.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Are we the only ones that say zucchini?
- 13:30Speaker 6: The Americans do it as well.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Oh, right. You'd think we'd follow your lead then because
- 13:34Speaker 4: we do on most things.
- 13:35Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 8: Okay.
- 13:38Speaker 2: All right, Danny, last question. You've got to get this
- 13:40Speaker 2: one right. Where on the face are the 11s located?
- 13:46Speaker 19: The 11th.
- 13:46Speaker 1: 11.
- 13:46Speaker 12: On the face.
- 13:47Speaker 16: Yep.
- 13:48Speaker 12: I'd say probably the cheeks.
- 13:52Speaker 18: Oh, man.
- 13:55Speaker 8: So it's between the eyebrows. It's kind of the two
- 13:58Speaker 8: vertical creases. When you frown, they look like they're number 11.
- 14:02Speaker 4: I don't have any.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Well, you don't because you get Botox.
- 14:05Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 4: I thought I naturally didn't have any.
- 14:07Speaker 6: No.
- 14:08Speaker 4: You're 11th. Oh, you don't have any either.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I get Botox. I don't deny it, though.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Where's your 11s, Nat? I'd have them.
- 14:15Speaker 6: I can't get Botox at the moment.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah, she's got the duff.
- 14:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Can you not get Botox when you're pregnant?
- 14:21Speaker 6: Oh, there's so many things you can't do. Yeah, but
- 14:23Speaker 6: that's one of them.
- 14:24Speaker 4: But they're putting it in your face, not your belly.
- 14:26Speaker 6: Yeah, but they're putting a foreign... you know, objects.
- 14:30Speaker 8: Listen, it wouldn't go anywhere near the baby, but they
- 14:34Speaker 8: absolutely don't even want to take that risk.
- 14:36Speaker 20: Right.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Like, you think about it, Botox is localised. Yeah. Otherwise,
- 14:40Speaker 2: your whole face would freeze.
- 14:41Speaker 6: Some women don't even get their, like, hair coloured and stuff.
- 14:44Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 6: They're really worried.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Bleach in case it can.
- 14:47Speaker 7: Are you annoyed that you didn't know because you would
- 14:49Speaker 7: have gone and just loaded up?
- 14:50Speaker 11: No, in all honesty, I never get as much Botox
- 14:53Speaker 11: as you.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Like, I can still move my face when I get it.
- 14:56Speaker 2: No one gets as much as Mikey.
- 14:57Speaker 4: I am 10 years older than you, though. Yeah, that's true.
- 15:01Speaker 2: All right, it's Karina's turn.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Yeah, let's go, Karina.
- 15:06Speaker 19: Yep.
- 15:07Speaker 4: What kind of product... Yeah, you guys wouldn't use this.
- 15:11Speaker 4: You never know.
- 15:11Speaker 20: Maybe.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe they have to. What kind of product is...
- 15:16Speaker 4: Sol Vol. Sol Vol.
- 15:22Speaker 14: Is that like that soap that like.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Hey, you win. Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Yeah. You need to know these words.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I can't wait to hear these.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 7: Okay, so there's this, oh, what is she?
- 15:39Speaker 4: Oh, here's a new one.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Oh, wait, wait, wait. Is she a love expert?
- 15:43Speaker 4: A dating advisor.
- 15:45Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I can't with the titles.
- 15:47Speaker 8: Can we think of titles for me, you, and Sean?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Can we come up with one?
- 15:50Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Yeah, in the ad break, we'll come up with our
- 15:53Speaker 2: new titles.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Like complete nut of bullshit one.
- 15:55Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 2: We'll just call ourselves experts in the field.
- 15:59Speaker 7: So dating advisor, Jenna Nicole. reckons you've got to use
- 16:03Speaker 7: these two words, okay? So if you're a dude, and
- 16:06Speaker 7: I believe it's if you're talking to a woman.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Okay. Let's have a listen.
- 16:10Speaker 19: Talk in terms of her. The best way to do
- 16:13Speaker 19: this is adding for you into your vocabulary. For you,
- 16:17Speaker 19: I've got the time. I'd drive the extra hour for you.
- 16:20Speaker 19: For you, I'd make the exception. This flirting technique makes
- 16:23Speaker 19: the conversation feel more personal to her and makes her
- 16:26Speaker 19: emotionally connected to you.
- 16:28Speaker 4: For you. Oh, yeah, I could do that for you.
- 16:31Speaker 4: I'd be nice to take the weekend off.
- 16:35Speaker 6: For you?
- 16:36Speaker 4: Yeah, would it work?
- 16:37Speaker 8: It almost feels like, I don't know, it almost feels
- 16:39Speaker 8: like he's saying, I don't know if I find that
- 16:44Speaker 8: flattering or almost a bit like.
- 16:48Speaker 2: He's doing it begrudgingly.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Oh, for you?
- 16:50Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 16:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I guess it would. I'd have to hear it in context, right?
- 16:57Speaker 7: If he was like, oh, I don't ordinarily go out
- 16:59Speaker 7: on a weeknight, but for you, I'll take you out
- 17:02Speaker 7: Wednesday night.
- 17:02Speaker 8: You'd almost be like, oh, well, if you don't really
- 17:05Speaker 8: want to, we don't have to.
- 17:07Speaker 4: So it wouldn't work.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Who would have thought one of these internet dating advisors
- 17:12Speaker 4: is for?
- 17:12Speaker 6: I reckon it doesn't seem genuine.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I was looking for.
- 17:16Speaker 6: For you, I do.
- 17:17Speaker 2: It seems a bit fake.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Okay, well, what about this?
- 17:21Speaker 15: Okay.
- 17:21Speaker 7: She also says saying her name, Amy, in conversation, Amy,
- 17:27Speaker 7: more than necessary.
- 17:28Speaker 4: What do you think of that, Amy?
- 17:29Speaker 8: Yeah, when I think of that, I think about my
- 17:32Speaker 8: dad because my dad always addresses everybody by their name.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Yeah, wins people over though, doesn't it?
- 17:37Speaker 8: Even the deli chick at Woolworths, he will be like, oh, hello, Sandra,
- 17:41Speaker 8: can I have a handful of salami?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Moira, whatever. He addresses every single person by the name.
- 17:48Speaker 4: And it works.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a respect thing. I think it's a nice thing.
- 17:52Speaker 7: When dating, I reckon that one could work. Obviously not
- 17:58Speaker 7: over the top, but using her name a lot. You
- 18:00Speaker 7: know what I used to do?
- 18:01Speaker 4: Oh, no. Kind of the opposite of that.
- 18:03Speaker 17: Oh, yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Just treat him like shit?
- 18:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:06Speaker 7: Her name but slightly wrong because it'll make her crave
- 18:10Speaker 7: your attention.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Yeah, so you're Amy. Yeah, yours is hard. Yeah, maybe Amanda. Yeah, Emily.
- 18:16Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Yeah, like just my girlfriend's Alana. Call her Ashley or something.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Yeah, Alan.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Like, just slightly wrong. And she'd be like, oh, he
- 18:28Speaker 4: kind of knows my name, but why doesn't he remember it?
- 18:31Speaker 2: That would not elicit that response from me. I'd be like, oh,
- 18:34Speaker 2: dear kid, my name's Amy. Like, are you kidding? We're
- 18:37Speaker 2: on a date and you've just called me another woman's name?
- 18:39Speaker 2: I'm out of here.
- 18:40Speaker 4: But it's just slightly wrong.
- 18:42Speaker 2: But it doesn't matter. You've still called me another woman's name.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Hey, birthday wheel time.
- 18:48Speaker 2: The advisor's wrong.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I'm not a... What is she?
- 18:51Speaker 2: She's a dating advisor.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Okay, well, she's a flop. Yeah, she is. It's time
- 18:56Speaker 4: for the birthday wheel.
- 18:57Speaker 7: Everyone that gets on between now and the end of
- 19:00Speaker 7: the year and spins our birthday wheel, you won't not
- 19:03Speaker 7: only get a prize, you have the chance to win
- 19:06Speaker 7: a brand new Cherry Tiggo 4 Urban SUV.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Yeah!
- 19:11Speaker 7: School runs, coffee runs and weekend fun. Discover the Cherry
- 19:13Speaker 7: Tico 4 with a test drive at Cherry Ride.
- 19:16Speaker 4: So, you want that? You want a prize?
- 19:18Speaker 7: You want to pick our birthday song? Call in if
- 19:21Speaker 7: it is your birthday today, 17th of September, 13, 1065.
- 19:24Speaker 7: You know, it was my girlfriend's birthday yesterday.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Oh, yeah? I.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Well, I think I screwed up.
- 19:30Speaker 12: Oh, no.
- 19:31Speaker 2: How?
- 19:31Speaker 4: Okay, so I bought her earrings.
- 19:34Speaker 14: Yes.
- 19:34Speaker 4: I told you that, yeah?
- 19:35Speaker 12: Yes.
- 19:36Speaker 4: I was going to buy her a necklace that you
- 19:38Speaker 4: showed me a good jewellery place.
- 19:40Speaker 16: Yes.
- 19:40Speaker 7: But when I went into this jewellery store with her,
- 19:42Speaker 7: one that she loves, something Sebastian, I don't.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Know what it is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sarah and Sebastian, yep.
- 19:47Speaker 4: So we're in there. We're in there.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 4: And she picked up a necklace and bought it herself.
- 19:53Speaker 16: Yes.
- 19:54Speaker 4: And I was like, well, I can't do that now.
- 19:55Speaker 4: And then she tried on these earrings.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:57Speaker 4: And I went, ah, she likes those earrings.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 4: So I walked her to a car, hesitated for a bit,
- 20:03Speaker 4: and I went, well, just go and get them.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Called her Alana. Sorry, called her a wrong name. Ashley.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Off you go, Ash.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Went back into that store, bought them.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I love that.
- 20:12Speaker 7: That was a good month or so ago. I just
- 20:14Speaker 7: had it sitting in my wardrobe yesterday.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Gave her the earrings. She was like, oh, my God,
- 20:19Speaker 4: these are lovely. Gave her some flowers.
- 20:22Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 4: A few other things.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Gave her the other thing that you're doing on the weekend.
- 20:25Speaker 17: Yes.
- 20:25Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 4: She's got that. So it was all good.
- 20:28Speaker 7: I got a phone call about an hour later. She goes,
- 20:30Speaker 7: you're in trouble. And I was like, why? Why am
- 20:34Speaker 7: I in trouble?
- 20:35Speaker 4: I just bought you earrings. Why could I be in trouble?
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Her sister was in the car. Her sister bought her
- 20:42Speaker 4: exactly the same earrings.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Oh, that's kind of cute. But how are you in trouble?
- 20:48Speaker 4: Well, I'm in trouble with her sister. So her sister
- 20:51Speaker 4: had obviously, I don't know, maybe they tried to bond
- 20:53Speaker 4: together another time.
- 20:55Speaker 7: So she got two of the same earrings. But I
- 20:57Speaker 7: win because I gave them to her first.
- 20:59Speaker 8: Yeah, and also both of you would have receipts and
- 21:01Speaker 8: she can just go back and swap it for something else.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Yeah, but not my one.
- 21:04Speaker 8: No, she'll keep yours and then the sister, she can
- 21:07Speaker 8: go and exchange the sisters for something else.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Maybe there's a nice bracelet.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Bit of a letdown though, wasn't it?
- 21:11Speaker 2: Well, it's kind of cute though.
- 21:13Speaker 8: Obviously you both had, you know, great minds think alike.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Means I got good taste.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Well, you didn't pick them.
- 21:20Speaker 6: I reckon her sister would be impressed that you did that.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I think so as well.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Not pissed off. She went in and got the.
- 21:26Speaker 9: Yeah, but she's like, oh, I want to get my
- 21:28Speaker 9: sister this. Oh, wait, Mikey got the same thing.
- 21:31Speaker 14: Right.
- 21:32Speaker 4: So it makes me look like.
- 21:32Speaker 6: He knows her just as well as I do.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Well, I said this is too confusing. I can't buy
- 21:37Speaker 4: jewellery ever again, so that'll be it.
- 21:39Speaker 8: God.
- 21:41Speaker 2: What a guy.
- 21:42Speaker 4: And Dr.
- 21:43Speaker 7: Kiss, with your medical questions, anything you want to know
- 21:46Speaker 7: about your body, your brain, more your body.
- 21:49Speaker 6: Anything.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Can it be brain? Can it be your feet, your toenails?
- 21:53Speaker 4: Let's go. Smelly armpits? Corey, you're on with Dr.
- 21:57Speaker 12: Kiss.
- 21:57Speaker 4: What's your question?
- 21:58Speaker 12: How are we, mate?
- 22:01Speaker 4: G'day. What's happening, buddy?
- 22:03Speaker 12: Not a lot.
- 22:04Speaker 16: So I've just been recently obviously I've been hitting the
- 22:06Speaker 16: gym a fair bit and I've been jabbing some testosterone
- 22:10Speaker 16: and I'm just wondering what are the main side effects
- 22:14Speaker 16: of people when they first get on it?
- 22:16Speaker 20: Yeah look and using hormones, using testosterone for blokes out
- 22:19Speaker 20: there is very very common and sure there are lots
- 22:22Speaker 20: of people that use it and don't get many side
- 22:23Speaker 20: effects however there are some really important ones we need
- 22:26Speaker 20: to be mindful of. And a lot of blokes will
- 22:29Speaker 20: get it, especially if the doses are too high. I mean,
- 22:31Speaker 20: the biggest one is it makes your freaking nuts shrink.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Really?
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 6: Does it?
- 22:36Speaker 20: Yeah, they can turn into little bloody.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Raisins.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. Is that bad for if you wanted
- 22:41Speaker 4: to have babies or something?
- 22:42Speaker 20: Yes, so it can really affect that hormone loop and cycle. So, yes,
- 22:46Speaker 20: it can lead to infertility issues down the track.
- 22:50Speaker 8: Is testosterone meant to help you lift stronger or bulk up?
- 22:54Speaker 2: Is it like a steroid?
- 22:55Speaker 6: Yeah, that's right.
- 22:56Speaker 16: It makes you feel on top of the world.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Oh, does it?
- 22:59Speaker 20: Yeah, but that can flip too far. There's a lot
- 23:02Speaker 20: of aggro, irritability.
- 23:05Speaker 4: You're angry?
- 23:06Speaker 20: Yeah, labile mood can really be an issue as well.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I was angry already prior, so it hasn't really affected.
- 23:13Speaker 12: That much more. I work in concrete, so we're always angry.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Corey's furious now.
- 23:21Speaker 20: And look, heart and other issues as well, high cholesterol, so.
- 23:27Speaker 20: In the medical world, we are not going to recommend
- 23:29Speaker 20: people go out and get it. There are ways that
- 23:30Speaker 20: people can do it more safely.
- 23:32Speaker 6: You get man boobs.
- 23:33Speaker 4: That's the other thing. Oh, yeah. What do you call them, Mamie?
- 23:37Speaker 2: Bitch tits. Bitch tits, yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 4: That's how you greet me sometimes. That's what you've got them.
- 23:41Speaker 4: I don't have them.
- 23:42Speaker 2: That's how I greet Mikey, yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Morning, bitch tits.
- 23:46Speaker 2: All right, Corey.
- 23:47Speaker 4: Well, it seems like he needs to be careful there, yeah?
- 23:49Speaker 20: Absolutely.
- 23:49Speaker 4: All right, Mamie. Kathy, you're on with Dr.
- 23:52Speaker 12: Kears.
- 23:53Speaker 16: All right.
- 23:54Speaker 4: Go for it.
- 23:54Speaker 19: Good morning.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Hi, Cathy, what's happening?
- 23:58Speaker 14: I have a very beautiful young teenage daughter and unfortunately
- 24:02Speaker 14: she has suffered for the last few years with, it's
- 24:04Speaker 14: a type of rash or a skin condition behind the
- 24:07Speaker 14: backs of her arms. I think they call it chicken skin.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Ah, chicken skin, yes.
- 24:14Speaker 2: That little tiny granular kind of.
- 24:17Speaker 20: Yeah, it sort of feels a bit like sandpaper, little
- 24:19Speaker 20: tiny red spots. Its real name is keratosis pilaris. And
- 24:25Speaker 20: it's just a thickening of the keratin layer, the skin
- 24:28Speaker 20: around the hair follicles, really common on the back of
- 24:31Speaker 20: the arms. It can be genetic. It tends to run
- 24:33Speaker 20: in families. There's not a massive amount you can do
- 24:36Speaker 20: to cure it, per se, using a lot of moisturizers.
- 24:40Speaker 20: Some of the acne creams can help, but you've got
- 24:43Speaker 20: to be careful because they can increase sun exposure and sunburn.
- 24:47Speaker 20: And then there are some other treatments, some lasers and
- 24:50Speaker 20: things can come into it. A lot of kids will
- 24:52Speaker 20: grow out of it to a degree, but it can
- 24:55Speaker 20: affect everyone at any age.
- 24:58Speaker 14: That's what I wanted to know, whether she might start
- 25:00Speaker 14: growing out of it. So is it a high incidence
- 25:03Speaker 14: of them growing out of it or not really?
- 25:05Speaker 4: Look, I think... Probably 50-50.
- 25:09Speaker 20: Using a lot of moisturisers, you can use like an
- 25:12Speaker 20: exfoliating mitt or something like that. It just can help
- 25:15Speaker 20: remove that dead skin layer. But you want to moisturise
- 25:18Speaker 20: afterwards because that can often cause a bit too much damage.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Good luck, Cathy.
- 25:22Speaker 7: You do get a lot of skin stuff in teenagers with... Oh,
- 25:26Speaker 7: remember the Roaccutane?
- 25:27Speaker 4: Girls would go on that. Guys would go on that
- 25:29Speaker 4: as well.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I've still got girlfriends who take it.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Really?
- 25:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so helpful.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Oh, look, acne is.
- 25:35Speaker 20: a terrible condition for many, many kids because it tends
- 25:39Speaker 20: to draw a lot of undue attention, even though it's natural,
- 25:42Speaker 20: even though it's a process that we go through as
- 25:44Speaker 20: the hormones of puberty are kicking in. And there are
- 25:47Speaker 20: good treatments we can do. And only a small percentage
- 25:49Speaker 20: need to go onto the Roaccutane tablets. A lot of
- 25:52Speaker 20: people can get by with some good skincare and some
- 25:55Speaker 20: of the topical things or some of the other tablets
- 25:57Speaker 20: you can use.
- 25:58Speaker 4: It's awful, isn't it? You either get them or you didn't.
- 26:00Speaker 4: I know I didn't. I didn't have... Did you have acne?
- 26:02Speaker 2: I didn't get... No, I never got acne. Isn't it hereditary?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Like if your parents both had it, you.
- 26:08Speaker 20: I don't know about that specifically.
- 26:09Speaker 6: Okay.
- 26:10Speaker 20: But I always thought it was a myth that high sugar,
- 26:13Speaker 20: high dairy diets can lead to increased acne rates. But
- 26:16Speaker 20: there is actually some decent research out there. But, you know,
- 26:19Speaker 20: the other thing, Amy, is that As we move through
- 26:23Speaker 20: our 30s into 40s, a lot of ladies do start
- 26:25Speaker 20: to develop acne.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Really?
- 26:27Speaker 2: Later in life?
- 26:28Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 4: It's coming for you.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I've got a pretty hectic skincare schedule. I don't reckon.
- 26:35Speaker 4: I wouldn't get through all that filler and Botox.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I don't have filler in my face. Calm down. No,
- 26:40Speaker 2: but I look after my skin now. I abused it
- 26:44Speaker 2: in my 20s.
- 26:44Speaker 20: Yeah, but sometimes, this may not be you, but sometimes
- 26:47Speaker 20: people think they're overlooking after their skin and they're actually
- 26:50Speaker 20: using products that dry the skin out more, cause little cracks,
- 26:53Speaker 20: increase infection, and actually spin the issues on the spot.
- 26:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:57Speaker 20: You really don't need a huge amount to look after
- 26:59Speaker 20: your skin properly.
- 27:00Speaker 4: No, just shampoo that I also wipe on my bum
- 27:03Speaker 4: and my face. That's what I do.
- 27:05Speaker 20: A good non-soap facial wash, a good moisturiser with 50
- 27:09Speaker 20: plus sunscreen, keeping out of the sun if you want
- 27:12Speaker 20: your skin looking awesome.
- 27:14Speaker 2: God, but I love the sun. Don't you need vitamin D?
- 27:17Speaker 2: Doesn't it help with your mood?
- 27:18Speaker 4: Only a little bit, eh?
- 27:20Speaker 2: It makes me a happier person.
- 27:22Speaker 4: Oh, I love it too.
- 27:23Speaker 20: Being outside in the environment, birds, everybody walking past, yes,
- 27:27Speaker 20: that's very good mindfulness. However, we only need about 30
- 27:30Speaker 20: minutes of sun exposure to get enough vitamin D into us.
- 27:34Speaker 4: And you can do it in the morning or the
- 27:35Speaker 4: other before the UV is hot. You don't need like
- 27:38Speaker 4: UV 13.
- 27:39Speaker 2: And you don't need to go and bake yourself in
- 27:41Speaker 2: the sun.
- 27:41Speaker 20: No, you don't need to be lying at the beach
- 27:43Speaker 20: for ages using coconut oil.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yeah, no solariums.
- 27:46Speaker 4: No, no solariums.
- 27:48Speaker 2: That's what I did.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Yeah, we know.
- 27:50Speaker 2: My 20s are so bad.
- 27:51Speaker 4: In Australia too, not in the UK.
- 27:53Speaker 8: No, in the UK and then back in Australia before
- 27:55Speaker 8: they were obviously banned.
- 27:56Speaker 4: And how many skin cancers have you had, Kyle?
- 27:59Speaker 2: I've lost count. Eight, nine.
- 28:01Speaker 20: And this is one of the problems is your sun
- 28:03Speaker 20: exposure in your teenage and early adult years that actually
- 28:07Speaker 20: sets you up for more risk.
- 28:08Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I get my skin checked every six months now.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Well, you would after that, wouldn't you?
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 2: You should get yours checked.
- 28:13Speaker 4: I do. Every year. I've had two cut out.
- 28:16Speaker 6: Okay.
- 28:16Speaker 4: But no solariums for me.
- 28:17Speaker 2: You'll catch up to me. Don't worry.
- 28:19Speaker 13: All right.
- 28:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:20Speaker 8: Well, the internet is taking sides, which actually surprises me
- 28:24Speaker 8: about this husband and wife dispute, because for me, it's
- 28:27Speaker 8: clear as day what the right thing to do here is.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Okay.
- 28:29Speaker 2: It's about which seat that you should sit in.
- 28:32Speaker 16: Okay.
- 28:33Speaker 8: There's a man, he drives to work every day. He
- 28:36Speaker 8: picks his wife up on the way home from work. However,
- 28:39Speaker 8: in recent times, he's discovered that a female colleague of
- 28:42Speaker 8: his also lives very close to them. So he has
- 28:47Speaker 8: started taking her home from their.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Office as well.
- 28:51Speaker 8: So what happens is the husband gets in the car,
- 28:54Speaker 8: the colleague gets in the front seat. Then they drive
- 28:57Speaker 8: to his wife's place of work and... Here is where
- 29:02Speaker 8: the internet gets divided. So the wife expects the colleague
- 29:07Speaker 8: to get out and get into the back seat. So
- 29:10Speaker 8: I guess the colleague's not going to sit in the
- 29:12Speaker 8: back seat whilst driving from A to B, right?
- 29:15Speaker 4: Like a chauffeur-driven person.
- 29:17Speaker 2: That would feel probably a little bit odd.
- 29:19Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 11: But.
- 29:21Speaker 2: The wife is saying, no way.
- 29:24Speaker 8: On God's green earth am I getting in the back
- 29:26Speaker 8: seat of my husband's car and that other woman is
- 29:30Speaker 8: sitting in the front seat, right?
- 29:32Speaker 4: Okay, yep, yep.
- 29:33Speaker 2: So every time.
- 29:34Speaker 8: So this kind of all has come to a head
- 29:36Speaker 8: because the.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Colleague who had recently.
- 29:40Speaker 8: been getting into the back seat finally put her foot
- 29:42Speaker 8: down and had this to say.
- 29:45Speaker 10: Madam, this is not your car, so stop being so childish.
- 29:51Speaker 10: I know he is your husband, but he is the
- 29:53Speaker 10: only one with the right to ask me to move.
- 29:56Speaker 10: And as for the back seat... I'm not sitting there
- 29:58Speaker 10: today unless he tells me to.
- 30:00Speaker 7: Okay, there's so much to unpack here. First of all,
- 30:04Speaker 7: how do you feel about him even having the colleague
- 30:07Speaker 7: in his car every day? Because some women wouldn't be
- 30:10Speaker 7: all right with that.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Look, I don't have an issue. Like Ryan's got female friends.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I don't have an issue with them.
- 30:17Speaker 4: So you can have her in the car every day?
- 30:20Speaker 8: Well, if they're driving five minutes to pick me up,
- 30:24Speaker 8: I don't have an issue with that.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Who's this lazy chick, by the way? Get your own
- 30:27Speaker 4: freaking car.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Well, there's that as well.
- 30:29Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 30:30Speaker 18: Nat.
- 30:30Speaker 2: No, don't ask Nat. No way would that be happening.
- 30:34Speaker 4: That's not going to fly in my relapse. I reckon
- 30:36Speaker 4: they're banging.
- 30:37Speaker 5: Well.
- 30:38Speaker 2: But, Amy, would you drive Mikey home every day?
- 30:42Speaker 6: Oh, God, no.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but I wouldn't do it for any other reason
- 30:47Speaker 2: other than I just like my own time.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Yeah, me too. I hate having people in my car.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I hate having to make small talk with people.
- 30:53Speaker 8: Like when I'm driving home from work, I just want
- 30:55Speaker 8: to sit either in silence or listen to my music.
- 30:58Speaker 4: So there is that.
- 30:59Speaker 7: So you think it's okay that he is offering this
- 31:01Speaker 7: female colleague a.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Lift every day? You're okay with that?
- 31:05Speaker 2: That doesn't bother me.
- 31:06Speaker 4: It's a little weird, yeah?
- 31:06Speaker 8: Oh, like if they live up the street or something
- 31:10Speaker 8: and it was– I don't know.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Every day.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Every day. I don't know.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Why is all of this sudden happening?
- 31:16Speaker 8: But I sure as shit wouldn't be sitting in the
- 31:18Speaker 8: back seat.
- 31:19Speaker 9: I reckon it's okay that he's driving her home, but
- 31:21Speaker 9: I think it's on the colleague to say, hey, we're
- 31:23Speaker 9: going to get your wife as well.
- 31:25Speaker 6: Maybe I just sit in the back.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Right, once they get there, she should get out.
- 31:30Speaker 6: Or like she should be in the back from the start. Yeah.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Especially if it's only a few minutes.
- 31:35Speaker 2: You know what?
- 31:35Speaker 8: If my key was, let's say we lived really close
- 31:39Speaker 8: to each other and.
- 31:41Speaker 2: You were like, I can give you a lift, but
- 31:43Speaker 2: we've got to go and pick up Alana.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:45Speaker 8: I would absolutely, I'd either sit in the front with
- 31:47Speaker 8: you and then before Alana even came out of the building,
- 31:49Speaker 8: I'd be in the back.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Out of respect for Alana.
- 31:53Speaker 11: Right.
- 31:53Speaker 8: Because I respect that that's your partner and I would
- 31:56Speaker 8: never want to like, overstep boundaries or make her feel
- 31:59Speaker 8: uncomfortable or do anything like that.
- 32:01Speaker 2: This woman's a dog.
- 32:03Speaker 7: What if the woman, I'm not being a dickhead here,
- 32:05Speaker 7: what if she was disabled and has to sit in
- 32:07Speaker 7: the front seat?
- 32:08Speaker 2: Well, that's not part of this story.
- 32:10Speaker 8: You are changing the narrative on me here, buddy.
- 32:13Speaker 2: She's not disabled.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Why she needs to be in the front. Isn't that
- 32:17Speaker 4: weird though?
- 32:17Speaker 7: That moment of, let's say we were going to pick
- 32:19Speaker 7: up a lighter, you getting out of the passenger seat,
- 32:22Speaker 7: and like opening the door for her and.
- 32:24Speaker 2: You getting in the back.
- 32:26Speaker 8: It would take all of about three seconds and that's
- 32:28Speaker 8: exactly what I would do. If you listen to more
- 32:31Speaker 8: of the audio, the husband actually goes on to be like,
- 32:33Speaker 8: I was so proud of my colleague for saying that.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Oh, well, he's having sex with her.
- 32:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 4: They're having sex.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Also, if you don't have your wife's back, you may
- 32:42Speaker 2: as well break up.
- 32:43Speaker 4: I want to cross to Nat in just a sec
- 32:44Speaker 4: because I've got a weird one.
- 32:45Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 32:47Speaker 7: It's about parents. So I went out for dinner with
- 32:50Speaker 7: Alana and my parents the other night.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:52Speaker 4: My mum and Alana went in the back.
- 32:55Speaker 12: Yes.
- 32:55Speaker 4: And my dad went in the front.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Yes. I would do the same in my house.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Same thing.
- 33:00Speaker 7: And even I remember as a teenager, once I was grown,
- 33:03Speaker 7: because mum's short and dad's quite tall, I would get
- 33:06Speaker 7: the front seat and mum would go in the back.
- 33:09Speaker 10: Yes.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's always you give up the front seat
- 33:11Speaker 2: for the largest person.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Okay. Nat?
- 33:13Speaker 11: Well, my partner is much larger than my dad, except
- 33:16Speaker 11: if we're going to get my parents on the way
- 33:18Speaker 11: to somewhere, Kane will get out of the front seat
- 33:21Speaker 11: and make my dad sit in the front and he'll
- 33:22Speaker 11: go in the back.
- 33:23Speaker 16: Yes.
- 33:23Speaker 6: Respect.
- 33:24Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 33:26Speaker 4: It's funny, isn't it?
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so weird, the rules about the front seat.
- 33:29Speaker 2: The unwritten rules of the front seat.
- 33:30Speaker 7: The front seat, yeah. And it's like I felt, and
- 33:33Speaker 7: I get it, but I was like, is this sexist?
- 33:36Speaker 7: We're basically saying women in the back, your father's.
- 33:38Speaker 4: In the front.
- 33:39Speaker 11: What about now I'm pregnant? Does that override everything and
- 33:43Speaker 11: I get the front seat?
- 33:44Speaker 6: Still no.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Because you're short.
- 33:46Speaker 6: You're short, yeah.
- 33:46Speaker 4: And I'm a woman.
- 33:47Speaker 2: You're shorter, yeah. Because you're a woman.
- 33:51Speaker 4: I still think they're doing it.
- 33:54Speaker 8: You sent me this article and I said the husband
- 33:56Speaker 8: and the colleague would die.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you'd kill both of them. Yes, I would.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:00Speaker 8: That situation just wouldn't unfold like that in my world.
- 34:03Speaker 7: All right, the helpline is on.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Amy Gerard, by the way. I've got popcorn on my throat.
- 34:11Speaker 2: You've also got popcorn on your face. Oh, do I?
- 34:14Speaker 8: Yes, after dropping it all over the ground in here.
- 34:18Speaker 4: I'm a mess.
- 34:19Speaker 2: It's like having a toddler.
- 34:20Speaker 6: As a co-host.
- 34:21Speaker 4: It's cute, isn't it?
- 34:23Speaker 2: Anyway, we've got– it's not cute. We've got Cassie on
- 34:26Speaker 2: the phone. Yeah, because she needs some advice, right?
- 34:30Speaker 8: So Cassie's been dating a guy. She met on Hinge
- 34:33Speaker 8: about six weeks ago. Everything's been going well, you know,
- 34:37Speaker 8: a few dates in. And then she's discovered something. It's
- 34:41Speaker 8: just only this week. So let's get Cassie on. I
- 34:44Speaker 8: want us to tell, I want her to tell us
- 34:46Speaker 8: what's been going on.
- 34:47Speaker 4: How you doing, Cassie?
- 34:48Speaker 2: Hey, Cass.
- 34:50Speaker 12: Hi, I'm good.
- 34:50Speaker 18: Thank you.
- 34:51Speaker 4: How are you guys?
- 34:52Speaker 19: Good.
- 34:52Speaker 7: So you meet a guy on Hinge. It doesn't always work,
- 34:55Speaker 7: but you've matched. You're happy.
- 34:57Speaker 2: And how many dates have you gone on?
- 34:59Speaker 18: I must count at this point. We see each other
- 35:03Speaker 18: quite regularly.
- 35:04Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 35:04Speaker 16: Okay.
- 35:04Speaker 2: So like a couple of times during the week.
- 35:07Speaker 18: Yeah, we like definitely spend, I'd probably say like 80%
- 35:11Speaker 18: of our weekends together, a couple of nights throughout the week.
- 35:15Speaker 6: Oh, okay. Amazing.
- 35:16Speaker 2: And you're having obviously sleepovers.
- 35:18Speaker 16: Yep.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Okay. This is good.
- 35:22Speaker 4: What's happened then?
- 35:24Speaker 18: Well, I went on to my Hinge app because I was, like,
- 35:29Speaker 18: just going to pop.
- 35:30Speaker 12: It on pause or delete it.
- 35:31Speaker 18: Like, I just was like, I'm not using it.
- 35:32Speaker 13: Might as well pop it aside.
- 35:35Speaker 18: And I just had this feeling in my gut, and
- 35:38Speaker 18: I looked at his profile, and it's all updated photos,
- 35:42Speaker 18: new prompts. Everything had changed.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Whoa.
- 35:46Speaker 18: Clearly still using it.
- 35:47Speaker 7: Yeah, so, I mean, you had it still as well,
- 35:51Speaker 7: but you weren't using it.
- 35:52Speaker 2: You weren't updating it or anything.
- 35:54Speaker 4: You were genuinely going on there to delete it or
- 35:57Speaker 4: pause it.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Or pause it, yeah.
- 35:58Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 35:59Speaker 7: And he's clearly still on there and he's updated it. However,
- 36:03Speaker 7: could he have updated it, I don't know, a few
- 36:06Speaker 7: days after your first date or something?
- 36:07Speaker 2: Does it tell you when they've updated it?
- 36:09Speaker 4: No.
- 36:09Speaker 18: No, but one of the photos I knew were, like,
- 36:13Speaker 18: from within the time we had been seeing each other.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Okay, so what about this?
- 36:19Speaker 8: What about if he had updated it in like the
- 36:21Speaker 8: first week or two?
- 36:22Speaker 18: I guess for me, like, that's okay. But I think
- 36:27Speaker 18: once you start having sleepovers and you're catching up and
- 36:30Speaker 18: texting every day.
- 36:31Speaker 6: Yes. Oh, 100%.
- 36:33Speaker 8: If you guys are seeing each other multiple times a
- 36:35Speaker 8: week having sleepovers, I would automatically.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Assume there's a level of exclusivity there. I don't know.
- 36:43Speaker 2: I'm so out of the dating scene.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Well, I can tell you.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Is it a conversation you need to have?
- 36:48Speaker 7: I have had that when I've got into a relationship.
- 36:50Speaker 7: I remember one girlfriend. I was working with you at
- 36:53Speaker 7: the time, Nat. She was like, let's delete it together.
- 36:56Speaker 7: We both deleted our dating apps. She wanted to make
- 36:59Speaker 7: sure I did it. If I was really into Cassie
- 37:03Speaker 7: and I'd met her, I would not be updating The Hinge.
- 37:07Speaker 4: So I'm thinking he is like... Keeping his options open.
- 37:12Speaker 4: He is keeping his options open, Cassie. Have you asked
- 37:14Speaker 4: him about it, though?
- 37:16Speaker 18: I did bring it up with him. The conversation did
- 37:19Speaker 18: not go well at all.
- 37:21Speaker 2: What did he say?
- 37:23Speaker 18: He then just started having a go at me for
- 37:25Speaker 18: why I was on Hinge. And I tried explaining to
- 37:28Speaker 18: him I was, like, going on there to, you know...
- 37:31Speaker 18: Pop my account aside because I was enjoying spending time
- 37:34Speaker 18: with him and getting to know him and I was
- 37:36Speaker 18: serious about this. And he then just kept having a
- 37:39Speaker 18: go at me and accusing me of using the app.
- 37:42Speaker 8: That actually sounds like he's just deflecting, if I'm honest.
- 37:45Speaker 8: Like he doesn't want to own up to the fact
- 37:48Speaker 8: that he's been updating his profile. So instead of taking
- 37:51Speaker 8: ownership of that and just being honest, he's gone, well,
- 37:53Speaker 8: why were you on there?
- 37:55Speaker 6: Classic.
- 37:55Speaker 15: That's pretty much, yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 4: Classic male.
- 37:59Speaker 7: Well, we'll get people to call in 131065 if you've
- 38:01Speaker 7: got advice for Cassie. I am thinking, though, as a
- 38:05Speaker 7: dude that was on the dating apps for years, if
- 38:08Speaker 7: you're spending time still on that app while you're seeing someone.
- 38:12Speaker 4: You're looking for other options.
- 38:13Speaker 8: Yeah, and maybe he's just, and I don't want to
- 38:16Speaker 8: upset you, Cassie, but maybe you're there whilst he keeps
- 38:19Speaker 8: his other options open, which is pretty nasty.
- 38:22Speaker 4: And to update the thing, in his mind it's like,
- 38:26Speaker 4: I need to find someone else.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I'd punch him in the balls.
- 38:29Speaker 4: You could punch him in the balls. Should she punch
- 38:32Speaker 4: him in the balls?
- 38:33Speaker 16: 131065.
- 38:33Speaker 7: Or just see another guy. Yeah, I'm trying to think
- 38:39Speaker 7: of an innocent explanation here. Unless he thinks you're not
- 38:42Speaker 7: that into it.
- 38:43Speaker 9: What if he's been down on his luck before and
- 38:46Speaker 9: he thinks that maybe Cassie isn't overly into him and
- 38:51Speaker 9: he's just sort of keeping it keeping it there and
- 38:53Speaker 9: keeping it updated just in case Cassie decides, oh, I'm
- 38:56Speaker 9: out of here.
- 38:56Speaker 4: I think that's fair, Sean, as well.
- 38:58Speaker 7: And you get burnt and, you know, you get into
- 39:00Speaker 7: a relationship, it doesn't work. So we have talked about
- 39:03Speaker 7: not putting all your eggs in one basket.
- 39:05Speaker 4: That is what he could be doing, yeah.
- 39:06Speaker 8: I would say you just kind of need to have
- 39:08Speaker 8: the conversation, like, and maybe because you've seen this and
- 39:12Speaker 8: because you had gone on Hinge at the time, maybe
- 39:15Speaker 8: it's fast-forwarded this conversation, but maybe it's about saying, hey...
- 39:20Speaker 8: I really like you. I'm really into this, you know,
- 39:23Speaker 8: what's happening. Would love to see where it goes. Are
- 39:26Speaker 8: you willing to, you know, put your hinge on pause?
- 39:29Speaker 8: We can do it together. Kind of like what your
- 39:30Speaker 8: girlfriend did.
- 39:31Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Because you don't want to be that person that's all
- 39:34Speaker 2: in and the other person's only got a toe in.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Totally.
- 39:37Speaker 7: All right, let's get your advice for the helpline 131065.
- 39:41Speaker 7: What advice do you have for Cassie? Is she about
- 39:43Speaker 7: to be dumped? Should she punch him in the balls?
- 39:46Speaker 4: What do you reckon?
- 39:47Speaker 7: We'll take your calls coming up. Yeah, we're doing the
- 39:48Speaker 7: helpline today and we're helping out Cassie. Cassie's joining us
- 39:52Speaker 7: on air now. You've seen a guy.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Tell us the story when you went to check the hinge.
- 39:58Speaker 2: No, she went to pause her hinge.
- 40:00Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:01Speaker 2: I got your back, Cass. Don't worry.
- 40:03Speaker 12: Go on.
- 40:05Speaker 18: Yep, just trying to pause my hinge to kind of
- 40:10Speaker 18: initiate that mindset of the next step. And then he's
- 40:13Speaker 18: changing all his photos.
- 40:14Speaker 12: And I'm dating his profile.
- 40:16Speaker 7: And you've been dating him for a number of weeks.
- 40:19Speaker 7: You're sleeping together and all of that. And he clearly
- 40:22Speaker 7: is still active on Hinge.
- 40:23Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 40:24Speaker 13: Yeah, it's quite evident.
- 40:27Speaker 18: My stomach dropped when I saw it.
- 40:29Speaker 15: I was like, oh, no.
- 40:30Speaker 8: You would be so gutted, especially because you had essentially
- 40:33Speaker 8: gone on there to do the right thing by him
- 40:35Speaker 8: and the, you know, impending possible relationship. So to see
- 40:40Speaker 8: that you're essentially not on the same page, it would
- 40:43Speaker 8: be gut-wrenching.
- 40:44Speaker 7: 131065, what are your thoughts here? The only thing we
- 40:48Speaker 7: could think of is he's just, like, hedging his bets.
- 40:53Speaker 8: Maybe he's insecure in the relationship well it's not a
- 40:56Speaker 8: relationship but maybe he's doubting whether cassie's that into him
- 41:00Speaker 8: so he's trying to keep his options open.
- 41:02Speaker 7: Yep um that or he's not that into cassie and
- 41:05Speaker 7: he's looking for other women lisa's on hi what do
- 41:07Speaker 7: you think.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Hey lisa good morning everyone hi cassie what do you
- 41:12Speaker 3: think lisa Okay, I tell you what, we're talking red
- 41:15Speaker 3: flags here. Let's forget the scenario that this guy sounds
- 41:18Speaker 3: a little unhinged. Let's talk about the communication of what
- 41:21Speaker 3: happened with.
- 41:22Speaker 12: Him after, right?
- 41:23Speaker 3: Like, let's be honest, as a girl, there's a couple
- 41:26Speaker 3: of eek and ooey moments, and that's one of them.
- 41:29Speaker 3: And look, everyone could have shouldered water, let's be honest.
- 41:32Speaker 13: You could have.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Maybe Paul said he should have probably, and that's a communication.
- 41:36Speaker 3: This guy's communication is full red flag.
- 41:40Speaker 7: Well, yeah, just to remind Cassie, when you approached him
- 41:42Speaker 7: about it, what did he do?
- 41:45Speaker 17: He had a go at me for going on the app.
- 41:47Speaker 14: Yeah, deflection.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Yeah, total deflection. Look, communication is everything in a relationship,
- 41:54Speaker 3: and that stinking stomach feeling that you have when you
- 41:57Speaker 3: saw it. Now, what did you feel when you spoke
- 42:00Speaker 3: to him and he spoke to you like that?
- 42:03Speaker 18: I felt like everything was crushing down. It was like
- 42:09Speaker 18: a different side of him was seen and I was like, no,
- 42:12Speaker 18: you are not who I thought you were.
- 42:15Speaker 7: Well, Lisa's maybe suggesting that you just dump him instead
- 42:18Speaker 7: of him dumping you. 131065, that is our number here.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Let's go to Ailish.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Ailish.
- 42:26Speaker 13: Good morning.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Good morning. Good morning.
- 42:29Speaker 13: I think go with your gut instinct. I think he
- 42:32Speaker 13: is kind of opening up the pool to other women,
- 42:37Speaker 13: updating his photos, refreshing his profile. I think you should
- 42:41Speaker 13: go with your gut instinct. I think he's preparing for
- 42:45Speaker 13: his worst, which is I think you might... Possibly leave slash,
- 42:49Speaker 13: you know, ghost. I'm saying this as a veteran, you know.
- 42:52Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 42:53Speaker 13: Online data. I genuinely think if you've been dating for
- 42:57Speaker 13: this long now and you haven't had that conversation of,
- 43:01Speaker 13: you know, where you're going or if he's having a
- 43:05Speaker 13: go at you for bringing it up, no. You should take, like,
- 43:08Speaker 13: take your gut instinct. You shouldn't be having a fight
- 43:11Speaker 13: about this, especially if he's still on it and updating
- 43:15Speaker 13: his profile.
- 43:16Speaker 6: I think.
- 43:19Speaker 13: By now, like a few weeks in, you should know
- 43:22Speaker 13: by now whether you both want to be exclusive and
- 43:25Speaker 13: off the app. You shouldn't have to assume.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely think it's worth a conversation.
- 43:31Speaker 8: I think before you just dump him or ghost him,
- 43:35Speaker 8: I definitely think it's worth having the conversation about where
- 43:39Speaker 8: you're at with your feelings and Is he in the
- 43:42Speaker 8: same boat?
- 43:43Speaker 2: And if so, then you both get off the apps together.
- 43:45Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 8: And he might turn around and say, yeah, listen, it's
- 43:47Speaker 8: been a really great six weeks, but I'm not really
- 43:49Speaker 8: feeling it. Communication is honestly, it's key.
- 43:54Speaker 2: In any new relationship, friendship, everything.
- 43:58Speaker 8: Like unless you can communicate, I know so many people
- 44:00Speaker 8: struggle with it. It's... It's hard to do to put
- 44:05Speaker 8: yourself out there and be vulnerable, but it's so important.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Well, Zach, let's get a bloke's point of view. What
- 44:10Speaker 4: do you reckon?
- 44:11Speaker 7: He updated all his stuff on Hinge. Is he going
- 44:13Speaker 7: to leave?
- 44:14Speaker 12: I reckon just let him be, eh?
- 44:17Speaker 4: Let him be. So he's not into one?
- 44:18Speaker 12: I reckon she's just got to up her.
- 44:21Speaker 16: Game, but.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Oh, so it's her fault?
- 44:23Speaker 2: Should she?
- 44:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:24Speaker 12: Oh, it's her fault?
- 44:28Speaker 8: Zach, should she change her Hinge profile and just two can.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Play that game?
- 44:34Speaker 16: Yeah, may as well.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Yeah, that's healthy. Instead of communicating like you just suggested.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Zach's also 19.
- 44:40Speaker 8: I spoke to a girlfriend driving here this morning and
- 44:43Speaker 8: she was talking, she's spoken to some guy on Hinge
- 44:45Speaker 8: and I said, you know, are you going to go
- 44:48Speaker 8: out for dinner? And she goes, I don't think you understand, Amy.
- 44:50Speaker 8: In the dating world, it doesn't work like that anymore.
- 44:52Speaker 8: No one takes you out for dinner. Not on date
- 44:55Speaker 8: number one, no.
- 44:56Speaker 4: You go for drinks. I'm not eating with you on
- 44:59Speaker 4: date number one.
- 45:00Speaker 8: You don't go on dates anymore. It's like, come over
- 45:02Speaker 8: to my house or I'll come to yours. And I
- 45:04Speaker 8: was like, you're on the wrong app, babe. You're on
- 45:06Speaker 8: like the sex one or something like that.
- 45:09Speaker 7: No, you know what's happening there? Because I disagree with that.
- 45:11Speaker 7: When I was single, I'd take you out for a drink.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Definitely. The guys that are seeing her as a Netflix
- 45:18Speaker 4: and chill kind of girl. Hey, Cassie, some brutal feedback there.
- 45:22Speaker 4: What are you going to do?
- 45:24Speaker 18: I think I'm going to go with just maybe have
- 45:27Speaker 18: a bit of a conversation.
- 45:28Speaker 13: You've already had it.
- 45:30Speaker 6: No.
- 45:30Speaker 18: Yeah, well, maybe just put my cards on the table
- 45:33Speaker 18: a little bit and just be like, hey, this is
- 45:35Speaker 18: where I'm at.
- 45:37Speaker 11: Where are you at?
- 45:38Speaker 18: And if I get that same response again, I'm just
- 45:41Speaker 18: going to go.
- 45:42Speaker 8: Yeah, if he turns around and says, oh, yeah, I'm
- 45:45Speaker 8: just going to, you know, I'm happy to see you,
- 45:48Speaker 8: but I'm still going to keep Hinge active, I would
- 45:50Speaker 8: be like, okay, that's not what I'm after.
- 45:53Speaker 2: See ya. And then punch him in the balls.
- 45:55Speaker 4: Yes, that's right. Punch him in the balls. Good on you, Cassie.
- 46:00Speaker 4: You know that really hurts.
- 46:01Speaker 6: I know.
- 46:02Speaker 4: A woman will never understand the pain.
- 46:05Speaker 6: Just Amy saying it, I'm like, ooh.
- 46:08Speaker 4: You know the things men have to go through.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Is it worse than childbirth?
- 46:11Speaker 7: I actually think scientifically... They've proven.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 46:16Speaker 4: We should ask Dr. Kiss. Scientifically, he's been.
- 46:19Speaker 2: No, he's a male too. You don't trust him.
- 46:21Speaker 6: I don't.
- 46:22Speaker 7: Hey, there's new research going around. This stuff's really scary,
- 46:25Speaker 7: especially for you and parents listening. Two-thirds of kids age
- 46:30Speaker 7: 10 to 17, they've got messages online that could be
- 46:33Speaker 7: classified as bad.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Grooming, yeah.
- 46:36Speaker 7: And they reckon a lot's coming through like online games,
- 46:38Speaker 7: social media. On to talk about and explain is Susan McLean,
- 46:43Speaker 7: cyber safety expert.
- 46:45Speaker 4: Hello, Susan.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Hey, Susan.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Thanks for having me.
- 46:49Speaker 2: So good to have you on. I am a mum
- 46:50Speaker 2: of three. I've got, you know... girl, boy, boy, 10,
- 46:54Speaker 2: 8 and 7.
- 46:55Speaker 8: And I just, I have so many concerns around this
- 46:59Speaker 8: kind of stuff. What platforms is this happening on most? Like, obviously,
- 47:03Speaker 8: I remember back in the day, my boys, all the
- 47:06Speaker 8: kids in the street, they all played on Roblox.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Is that one of the platforms where this is happening?
- 47:11Speaker 2: It is.
- 47:11Speaker 1: So what parents must understand is that any platform that
- 47:15Speaker 1: that allows two people to communicate will have predators on it.
- 47:19Speaker 1: So that's the first thing. And then you go by volume.
- 47:23Speaker 1: If a platform is very, very, very popular with kids,
- 47:26Speaker 1: it will be very, very, very popular with predators. And
- 47:30Speaker 1: of course, Roblox is one of those.
- 47:31Speaker 8: What would you be looking out for if you were
- 47:33Speaker 8: a parent who was with kids on Roblox? What kind
- 47:36Speaker 8: of messages can you look out for?
- 47:38Speaker 1: So what we want parents to do is be an
- 47:39Speaker 1: active participant in their child's life online and offline. Don't really,
- 47:43Speaker 1: for younger children, give them unsupervised access to the internet.
- 47:47Speaker 1: And make sure that they are only talking to people
- 47:50Speaker 1: they know. Now, that's not a guarantee, of course.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:53Speaker 1: We know most online child sex offenders are not known
- 47:57Speaker 1: to their victim in real life.
- 47:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:59Speaker 1: So make sure it's someone that is known to them, not,
- 48:01Speaker 1: you know, the friend of the friend of the friend
- 48:03Speaker 1: of the friend.
- 48:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Then regularly check the messages because what we know is
- 48:08Speaker 1: that an adult will often pick up something that's a
- 48:11Speaker 1: bit weird, a bit over-familiar, a bit slimy way before
- 48:16Speaker 1: a child will.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 48:18Speaker 7: Right, so go through the messages, make sure you're checking.
- 48:22Speaker 7: I mean, would you, what about the social media ban?
- 48:25Speaker 7: Do you think that's been a good thing? Is it
- 48:28Speaker 7: working and is that going to keep kids safer?
- 48:31Speaker 1: No, the short answer is no.
- 48:33Speaker 12: It was flawed from the start.
- 48:34Speaker 1: It's like a sieve with holes that the government trying
- 48:37Speaker 1: to retrospectively fix. The internet needs to be made safer.
- 48:42Speaker 1: The kids are still there. I think there's only a 3%
- 48:45Speaker 1: decrease in children using technology since the ban came in
- 48:48Speaker 1: on December. We've seen, I think, a 50% uptick in
- 48:52Speaker 1: teens using Reddit, which is another very concerning platform. We're
- 48:57Speaker 1: just shifting the problem elsewhere. And the kids are clever.
- 49:00Speaker 1: And it's not even consciously trying to get around the bans.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Plenty of them are passing the age assurance technology because
- 49:08Speaker 1: they're passing it. And plenty of kids, their parents are
- 49:11Speaker 1: putting their face on or an older sibling. So to me,
- 49:15Speaker 1: it often gives parents a false sense of security.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Oh, there's a ban.
- 49:18Speaker 1: My kid will be safe.
- 49:19Speaker 16: No, no, no.
- 49:19Speaker 1: That's not how it's working at all. It's pushing kids
- 49:22Speaker 1: into less safe spaces. Yeah.
- 49:24Speaker 8: And I, As a parent myself, I remember, like, you
- 49:27Speaker 8: give your kid the iPad and it's a reprieve from parenting, right?
- 49:31Speaker 8: And it's easy to fall into that trap of, oh,
- 49:35Speaker 8: I need a break or I need to reply to
- 49:37Speaker 8: these emails, so I'll just give my kid the iPad.
- 49:39Speaker 2: And it actually does require the parents.
- 49:42Speaker 8: to step up more in order to be able to
- 49:43Speaker 8: protect our kids a lot more. I've got friends who
- 49:47Speaker 8: would prefer their kids to be inside on iPads as
- 49:49Speaker 8: opposed to being out playing, riding their bikes.
- 49:52Speaker 2: In the street. I'm the opposite.
- 49:54Speaker 4: Yeah, go the bikes.
- 49:55Speaker 8: I would rather my kids be out, you know, falling
- 49:57Speaker 8: off their bikes, getting their scraped knees because I feel
- 50:00Speaker 8: like the internet is far more terrifying.
- 50:03Speaker 7: Okay, so is your main message... for parents to be
- 50:06Speaker 7: aware of all of the apps, be aware of everything,
- 50:09Speaker 7: and just monitor and watch?
- 50:11Speaker 4: Is that the best thing?
- 50:12Speaker 2: You've got to be on top of it.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Yeah. The best protective factor for a child is an
- 50:16Speaker 1: involved parent. Now, you can have technical solutions. I want
- 50:20Speaker 1: rules and boundaries. I want a parent involved. You may
- 50:23Speaker 1: need to go down the path of third-party products to
- 50:26Speaker 1: help you do this. It's not one, it's not right
- 50:29Speaker 1: or wrong. Because what is right for your family might
- 50:32Speaker 1: be very wrong for another family. So it's not specific.
- 50:36Speaker 1: It's very individual. But you have to do something. And
- 50:38Speaker 1: you have to understand that bad people exist in the world,
- 50:41Speaker 1: even if you've never come across them. Because that's the
- 50:43Speaker 1: other thing I see. is a parent might use a
- 50:46Speaker 1: particular platform and not have any negative experiences themselves as
- 50:50Speaker 1: an adult. But what that young person is going to
- 50:53Speaker 1: experience is vastly different. So educate yourself and be there
- 50:57Speaker 1: with your children. Keep the lines of communication open.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Be involved, go through their messages, do all of that.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Charlie's not allowed her iPad in her room.
- 51:05Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Never, never, never.
- 51:07Speaker 14: Yes.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Devices are never in bedrooms and bathrooms. That is rule
- 51:12Speaker 1: number one.
- 51:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:13Speaker 1: And reading their messages and checking up on them is
- 51:16Speaker 1: not invading their privacy.
- 51:18Speaker 4: That is pass.
- 51:19Speaker 7: Wouldn't it be easier to move to a tropical island
- 51:21Speaker 7: with no technology and raise your kids there?
- 51:24Speaker 4: It would, it would.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Fiji's looking good.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Fiji's looking good.
- 51:28Speaker 7: All right, Susan McLean, our cyber safety expert. Thank you
- 51:31Speaker 7: so much.
- 51:31Speaker 4: Really interesting stuff.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks so much, Susan.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Thanks for the chat, guys.
- 51:35Speaker 4: You know, on that, when we were all growing up,
- 51:37Speaker 4: did you have like a computer room?
- 51:40Speaker 2: Yeah, like a study.
- 51:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Like an office, yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 7: Did your parents see what you were doing in there?
- 51:45Speaker 8: That's how my mum found out that me and my
- 51:47Speaker 8: first boyfriend were being intimate.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Oh, like ICQ or something?
- 51:52Speaker 2: She read my ICQ history.
- 51:54Speaker 6: Oh, wow. Yeah.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Well, she was like, it's my job to keep you safe.
- 51:59Speaker 8: And we had the chat about getting me on the
- 52:02Speaker 8: pill and everything because I wasn't.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Could you clear history back then?
- 52:06Speaker 6: Oh, you could do. No.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Was it not a thing?
- 52:08Speaker 2: It probably wasn't a thing.
- 52:10Speaker 8: Whereas now, you can go on bloody incognito.
- 52:13Speaker 4: Yeah. You can get away with it.
- 52:16Speaker 7: I do remember some parents, they were like, yeah, we
- 52:19Speaker 7: can have a computer, but the computer's got to be
- 52:21Speaker 7: in the living room.
- 52:22Speaker 19: Oh.
- 52:22Speaker 4: So they could look over and see what you're doing.
- 52:25Speaker 8: Well, I guess that's the whole premise of what Susan's saying.
- 52:28Speaker 8: And it's the reason why I don't let Charlie- Go
- 52:31Speaker 8: up to her room. So if she's on her iPad ever,
- 52:33Speaker 8: she's either at the kitchen bench or on the lounge.
- 52:36Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 52:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:37Speaker 8: So I can always kind of have a look over
- 52:39Speaker 8: and see what she's doing. She's only ever watching Dance
- 52:42Speaker 8: Mums or some mermaid show.
- 52:44Speaker 2: So it's okay.
- 52:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but you know.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. And I've got the password to her iPad.
- 52:50Speaker 8: And she knows that at any given time, if I
- 52:52Speaker 8: want to go on and have a look at what
- 52:54Speaker 8: she's looking at or read her messages, I will. And
- 52:57Speaker 8: funnily enough, I actually don't because.
- 53:00Speaker 2: I have the password.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Maybe you should.
- 53:02Speaker 6: Susan said you should.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Maybe I will now.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Maybe you should be. Side note, RIP the computer room
- 53:07Speaker 4: that is not around anymore.
- 53:08Speaker 2: We've still got one.
- 53:10Speaker 16: A study.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, it's a study.
- 53:11Speaker 7: It used to be a dedicated computer room that the
- 53:14Speaker 7: family would share.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Yeah, we've still got one. It's because Ryan works from
- 53:17Speaker 2: home two days a week, so he's in that room.
- 53:19Speaker 4: With a proper PC.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Yes, a PC.
- 53:23Speaker 8: He's got two screens and a laptop and a proper
- 53:26Speaker 8: computer desk.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Old school.
- 53:29Speaker 7: Yeah, pick up the phone. It's our last calls before
- 53:32Speaker 7: we leave for the day.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Hayley, you're on. Go for it.
- 53:35Speaker 15: Hey, Hayley.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Hey, guys.
- 53:37Speaker 19: Hi.
- 53:38Speaker 17: So I actually work with my ex-fiancé.
- 53:41Speaker 6: Oh, yes.
- 53:42Speaker 4: We were just asking, does anyone actually work with an ex?
- 53:45Speaker 13: So it's ex-fiancé.
- 53:46Speaker 2: So you guys were engaged.
- 53:48Speaker 17: Yes, we were engaged. We postponed due to COVID.
- 53:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:52Speaker 17: Found out he was having an affair and just last
- 53:55Speaker 17: week he asked me to help him buy a new
- 53:57Speaker 17: ring for his girlfriend to make her a fiancé.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So you found out he
- 54:03Speaker 2: was having an affair with a girl from work?
- 54:06Speaker 15: Yes.
- 54:07Speaker 2: The same place that you work at?
- 54:09Speaker 14: Yep.
- 54:10Speaker 17: And he's just asked me to help him find a
- 54:12Speaker 17: ring for her.
- 54:13Speaker 4: What are you guys, like, friends now or something?
- 54:16Speaker 17: We have a child together, so I think that makes
- 54:19Speaker 17: us friends. Don't get me wrong. We get along extremely well. However,
- 54:23Speaker 17: it is really weird. So I've actually been a little spiteful,
- 54:26Speaker 17: and I've been giving him all the really shit.
- 54:27Speaker 10: Shit.
- 54:28Speaker 13: I'm not going to lie.
- 54:30Speaker 4: All the rings are crap. As if you wouldn't.
- 54:31Speaker 2: I would be giving him every shit shift there is.
- 54:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 2: So you guys work together.
- 54:38Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 54:38Speaker 8: He's getting it on with somebody else from work whilst
- 54:42Speaker 8: you're in the same building. And now he's asking you
- 54:44Speaker 8: to help pick a ring for her so he can propose.
- 54:48Speaker 16: Yes.
- 54:48Speaker 2: And you haven't like.
- 54:49Speaker 4: Why don't you fire him? I was going to.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Say, I would like a million percent fire him.
- 54:55Speaker 17: I wish I could, but I kind of can't.
- 54:57Speaker 15: You don't have that power.
- 54:58Speaker 2: She needs to be fired too, the both of them.
- 55:01Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 55:01Speaker 17: Well, it was more awkward when I found out about
- 55:04Speaker 17: it and then having to go to work and have
- 55:06Speaker 17: it happen in front of me.
- 55:08Speaker 8: Oh, Hayley, you are such a better woman than I am.
- 55:11Speaker 2: I would not be able to handle that.
- 55:13Speaker 4: Why don't you get another job? It was hard. Why
- 55:15Speaker 4: don't you, ladies?
- 55:16Speaker 13: It was hard.
- 55:17Speaker 17: Well, I mean, like, I'm a CEO.
- 55:20Speaker 13: Why would I leave?
- 55:20Speaker 17: It's my job. I can do what I need to do,
- 55:23Speaker 17: but I can't just fire someone because of a personal issue.
- 55:26Speaker 2: You absolutely can't.
- 55:27Speaker 13: But my boss, it is weird.
- 55:28Speaker 2: You need to plant stuff on his computer and get
- 55:31Speaker 2: him fired. You're the CEO. Call the shots.
- 55:34Speaker 7: I don't think a CEO's ever, like, stopped themselves from
- 55:37Speaker 7: firing someone that they want to.
- 55:38Speaker 4: There'd be a way.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Just make up and make his job redundant.
- 55:41Speaker 16: Yeah. Wow.
- 55:43Speaker 4: What a story, Hayley.
- 55:44Speaker 14: Good on you.
- 55:44Speaker 2: That is horrible.
- 55:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:49Speaker 2: And to the mother of his child. What a pig.
- 55:51Speaker 4: Hey, Tash, what do you want to talk about?
- 55:54Speaker 15: Hey, good morning, guys. I wanted to touch base about the...
- 55:59Speaker 15: the colleague in the husband's car.
- 56:02Speaker 6: Oh, yes.
- 56:02Speaker 4: This is going off online, yeah.
- 56:03Speaker 8: Yeah, so a man is driving his colleague, his female
- 56:06Speaker 8: colleague home and picking up the wife on the way
- 56:09Speaker 8: home and the wife thinks that the colleague should get
- 56:11Speaker 8: in the back seat.
- 56:12Speaker 7: But the colleague thinks she deserves to stay in the
- 56:16Speaker 7: front seat.
- 56:17Speaker 2: What do you think, Tash?
- 56:19Speaker 15: There's actually, well, look, I actually think it's a good thing.
- 56:22Speaker 15: Let the wife give the colleague the front seat because
- 56:25Speaker 15: Because if they have a car accident, she's like statistically
- 56:29Speaker 15: in a 31% seat where she could die and a 75%
- 56:32Speaker 15: seat that she gets injured. So let her have it.
- 56:36Speaker 7: So you're saying the passenger seat, more chance of her dying?
- 56:40Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:41Speaker 15: Well, if they have a serious accident, she's going to
- 56:43Speaker 15: get a smack in the face from their back.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but what if somebody runs up the back of you?
- 56:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:49Speaker 8: Somebody runs up the back, wife's dead, and the old
- 56:51Speaker 8: mate's with a colleague.
- 56:52Speaker 4: Well, look this thing up, all right? It's going off.
- 56:56Speaker 4: Everyone's got an opinion.
- 56:57Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 56:58Speaker 4: Why is the colleague in the front seat? Should the
- 57:00Speaker 4: wife be in the front?
- 57:01Speaker 6: All of that.
- 57:02Speaker 4: I still think he is getting it on with her.
- 57:05Speaker 7: Why would you be driving your female colleague home every day?
- 57:09Speaker 2: As if you wouldn't drive me home. That wouldn't be
- 57:12Speaker 2: that weird.
- 57:12Speaker 4: Why would I need to?
- 57:13Speaker 8: But like, let's say my car was in for a
- 57:15Speaker 8: service and then it got sent away and you had
- 57:18Speaker 8: to drive me home for two months.
- 57:20Speaker 2: It'd be annoying. I wouldn't want to sit in the
- 57:22Speaker 2: car either.
- 57:22Speaker 8: But if it meant I didn't have to catch public transport,
- 57:24Speaker 8: I'm still going to take the lift from you.
- 57:26Speaker 4: We don't live far from each other.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:27Speaker 4: And it doesn't mean we're banging.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Exactly right.
- 57:29Speaker 4: Or are we?
- 57:30Speaker 6: No, we are not.
- 57:31Speaker 18: All right.
- 57:32Speaker 4: Right? No, we're not.
- 57:34Speaker 7: Okay, tomorrow the love vote returns. So we've got a
- 57:37Speaker 7: single lady. I loved it when we did this last time.
- 57:40Speaker 7: Two potential lovers. But the choice of who she dates
- 57:45Speaker 7: is going to be up to you. Remember last week
- 57:48Speaker 7: we had that really cocky guy? Hang on, was she
- 57:51Speaker 7: not here?
- 57:52Speaker 2: Where was I? Did you do this in Italy? Because
- 57:54Speaker 2: I don't feel like I've done this.
- 57:54Speaker 4: Yeah, we didn't do it in Italy.
- 57:55Speaker 2: No, but was I in Italy?
- 57:57Speaker 4: Yeah, sorry.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Oh, damn it.
- 57:59Speaker 4: I've had many a co-host, so I forget. Anyway, no,
- 58:02Speaker 4: you'll love that.
- 58:03Speaker 2: I do. I already love the sound of it.
- 58:05Speaker 4: Yeah, how good was that? It was in 19, that.
- 58:08Speaker 5: I can confirm because I tell them behind the scenes, 19,
- 58:11Speaker 5: owned a Merc, like six foot three or something.
- 58:15Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 58:15Speaker 5: And she wanted him, but the listeners wanted the other
- 58:18Speaker 5: guy who was way more responsible. It was a whole thing.
- 58:20Speaker 5: Her cousin called up, told her off. It was a nightmare.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Did they come into the studio?
- 58:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you're going to enjoy it tomorrow.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Okay, I won't wear my Ugg boots.
- 58:29Speaker 4: No, dress up a bit. Oh, you want to impress
- 58:30Speaker 4: a 19-year-old guy.
- 58:31Speaker 2: No, but I'll put in some effort.
- 58:33Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Yeah, not like today.
- 58:36Speaker 7: Your chance to drive away in a brand-new car. The
- 58:38Speaker 7: pop quiz as well at 7 and 8.
