- 0:04Speaker 1: I am your host, Nookie Betts, and this is season
- 0:08Speaker 1: three and I'm super excited. I would have never guessed
- 0:13Speaker 1: that I would be doing this for three years, but
- 0:16Speaker 1: it's crazy. Anyways, I got my boy, tay Oscar Hernandez
- 0:21Speaker 1: Tayo in the building. Yay. Thank he came to Holland.
- 0:27Speaker 1: And thanks for coming on the show. I know you
- 0:29Speaker 1: love your sleep. You know you're not a big morning guy,
- 0:34Speaker 1: So thank you for getting up and doing this.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you for having me here on the show.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It's a pleasure to be here.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I do want to run down a couple accolades. You're
- 0:43Speaker 1: a three time Silver Slugger, two time All Star, and
- 0:47Speaker 1: what I think, my opinion is the best one of
- 0:50Speaker 1: all twenty twenty four World Series champion. So that's a
- 0:55Speaker 1: that's a dope resume. And you're still building right Yeah. Oh,
- 0:58Speaker 1: we're still a couple of shots. You know.
- 1:03Speaker 2: We're trying to run it back this year. Yeah, doing
- 1:07Speaker 2: everything that we can just to get back over there.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yeah we will, we'll talk about that. Uh. To start though,
- 1:13Speaker 1: we had this game called on base or off Base
- 1:17Speaker 1: and it's whether you're in or out, and I got
- 1:18Speaker 1: a couple of things. Wriggly is the most iconic ballpark
- 1:24Speaker 1: in baseball, on base or off base.
- 1:27Speaker 2: On that on base, I think you know it has history.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I used to be a couple of fans. Okay, growing up,
- 1:35Speaker 2: you were growing up. Yeah, who was your guy that
- 1:37Speaker 2: you watched? Of course?
- 1:40Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Crazy crazy, Yeah, those years they were amazing. They never
- 1:47Speaker 1: get to win the championship when he was here, but
- 1:51Speaker 1: it's because the other teams were a little better. So Sammy,
- 1:56Speaker 1: Sammy was your that that was like, that was your favorite.
- 2:00Speaker 3: We got in the Dominican.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Uh, trying to imitate he stands oats and and you know,
- 2:07Speaker 2: trying to hear.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Did you ever get to meet him? No, never got
- 2:10Speaker 1: to meet never. Okay, hopefully one day, one day, hopefully
- 2:13Speaker 1: one day you get to meet We'll see, Okay, Sammy,
- 2:18Speaker 1: this is a good guy to uh, comepile it.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I don't mean.
- 2:21Speaker 1: But anyways, being a credentialed photographer is the best post
- 2:27Speaker 1: game career. So yeah, you're on base or off base,
- 2:34Speaker 1: just being a photographer and you got credentials base, you're
- 2:41Speaker 1: on base, so you just want to go around take pictures. Yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I mean, I mean you saw Griffy, right, you saw Griffy.
- 2:48Speaker 2: He is enjoying life and he's a Hall of Famer.
- 2:51Speaker 2: He has an excellent career. Now he's just doing little
- 2:56Speaker 2: things that nobody thinks doing.
- 2:58Speaker 1: People and and like I can only imagine being Griffy,
- 3:02Speaker 1: And first of all, being Griffy walking in the Masters,
- 3:06Speaker 1: I mean there there's probably nowhere he can walk without
- 3:08Speaker 1: getting stopped. Yeah, and then he's going and taking pictures
- 3:12Speaker 1: and it's like, wow, that's super dope. It is it is.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I mean, like you don't imagine the Hall of Famer
- 3:21Speaker 2: yeah him, Yeah, especially taking pictures in the Master.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a normal being the normal guy.
- 3:30Speaker 3: The he's area.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I mean, you can imagine him taking pictures in Baseball
- 3:36Speaker 2: that the world class and all of that, but Master,
- 3:41Speaker 2: you know.
- 3:42Speaker 1: You know what, I think that was his way to
- 3:43Speaker 1: so he didn't have to pay to get in there
- 3:45Speaker 1: or something. So that was his way.
- 3:49Speaker 3: That's a question.
- 3:50Speaker 1: But I know he really He's always talked about his
- 3:53Speaker 1: cameras and all the different stuffs around Johnson too. He
- 3:56Speaker 1: takes pictures. Yeah, maybe it's something to it, Maybe they're
- 4:00Speaker 1: onto something. I don't know. We gotta maybe it's not
- 4:03Speaker 1: gonna be crazy if if I do that. Yeah, that's
- 4:07Speaker 1: my way to get in without paying. I just hate
- 4:10Speaker 1: I work here where I would see all right, So
- 4:14Speaker 1: what about this? A fart is always funny?
- 4:19Speaker 3: That's it is? It is, man, did you see that?
- 4:23Speaker 1: What we watched the video with Logan Web Yes, and
- 4:27Speaker 1: I think I watched it hundred times already. So it's
- 4:31Speaker 1: like it's just because you're in there with your boys,
- 4:34Speaker 1: like nobody understands the club house, like you know what
- 4:37Speaker 1: I'm saying, So something like that.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It is funny. It is funny. Like you don't imagine
- 4:43Speaker 2: like somebody doing that.
- 4:46Speaker 1: In the middle of an interview, because usually there's like
- 4:48Speaker 1: a I'm not gonna say, like a boundary, but like, okay,
- 4:52Speaker 1: you know we're not gonna play while guys talking on
- 4:54Speaker 1: TV because X Y and Z, Yeah these for a
- 4:58Speaker 1: long long time now.
- 4:59Speaker 2: And when somebody is doing an interview and everybody's quiet quiet,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you hear that.
- 5:05Speaker 3: You hear I really like because it was a big one.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It was it was not like, wow, okay, all right,
- 5:13Speaker 1: so what about this last one? Uncrustables are the best
- 5:17Speaker 1: mid game snack. I don't know, I'm not a big
- 5:21Speaker 1: guy of snacks, so you know a snack guy. No,
- 5:24Speaker 1: so you're off based on this. I don't know if
- 5:28Speaker 1: you saw, like that's Duran he was eating uncrustables and
- 5:32Speaker 1: then I think castillanos. Yep, he was eating uncrustable I'm on.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say I'm on base, but I'm on
- 5:39Speaker 1: based on uncrustables, I really do. I smashed him. That
- 5:42Speaker 1: was my That helped me get my weight back when
- 5:44Speaker 1: I was sick. And the thing is because we didn't
- 5:48Speaker 1: have that, so we're not used to. Yeah that's fair,
- 5:53Speaker 1: but you do see do you do? You eat seeds though?
- 5:56Speaker 3: Right?
- 5:56Speaker 1: Sometimes? So is that is that considered a snack? I
- 6:01Speaker 1: don't think so what is What would the seeds be?
- 6:04Speaker 1: It's just something to keep you like, I don't know,
- 6:07Speaker 1: it's like gum okay, gum stand snack Okay. So so
- 6:12Speaker 1: when you got the nickname mistress, how did you get
- 6:15Speaker 1: the nickname mister Seeds?
- 6:16Speaker 3: Like?
- 6:16Speaker 1: What was it was?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Back in twenty eighteen that's when the team starts celebrating
- 6:22Speaker 2: when they hit homers and all that, And we didn't
- 6:25Speaker 2: have anything in Toronto, but we have a lot of
- 6:29Speaker 2: seats okay, so it's like, okay, so we have all
- 6:32Speaker 2: of this, I'm just gonna throw it to the guy
- 6:36Speaker 2: like he's Homer.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah. That's how I started, and it.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Became your thing and it came so you. So but
- 6:43Speaker 1: you're not like you don't eat seeds all the time,
- 6:45Speaker 1: like I feel like I see you eat them. Yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 1: but no, not always.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I use it like the last series, I used it
- 6:52Speaker 2: in Texas to mark my spot because it's uh because
- 6:57Speaker 2: it was terf Yeah. So I don't, you know, like
- 7:01Speaker 2: messure my steps. All right, so let's jump into something else.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Tell me about your this your first off season being
- 7:09Speaker 2: a champ, right, a World Series champ. What did you
- 7:12Speaker 2: do this off season? Like what did you do?
- 7:13Speaker 1: You didn't do anything, nothing with the fam or nothing.
- 7:17Speaker 2: You didn't go anywhere I want to the Dominican for
- 7:19Speaker 2: ten days, took some a little vacation when to meet
- 7:23Speaker 2: the president okay of the Dominican Republic and uh and
- 7:27Speaker 2: that's it. Ten days and that was it. You didn't
- 7:31Speaker 2: get back and started working again. What so, Okay, my
- 7:37Speaker 2: body was a little bit up, So you had I
- 7:41Speaker 2: never played that long that far into it.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And like meaningfulings like there was a lot of It
- 7:46Speaker 1: was a lot going on, a lot going.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yeah, so my body was like, you know what, I'm
- 7:51Speaker 3: gonna rest.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So okay, and your fami didn't. They didn't. I mean,
- 7:55Speaker 1: I know your family was there. Yeah, so they really
- 7:57Speaker 1: got to enjoy. How did they feel about it? Tell
- 7:59Speaker 1: me about their great great They have really good experience,
- 8:02Speaker 1: you know, not only for me.
- 8:05Speaker 3: It was a dream for them to you know, like.
- 8:09Speaker 2: As a member of a family and you in the
- 8:12Speaker 2: big leagues, Like every family wants that. So it was
- 8:16Speaker 2: a great time. We enjoy really good because we win,
- 8:19Speaker 2: right for sure. Uh, at the end of the day,
- 8:23Speaker 2: it was it was worth it, Like all the time
- 8:26Speaker 2: that that we spend as a group, as a team
- 8:29Speaker 2: together outside of the family, at the end of the day,
- 8:33Speaker 2: it paid off.
- 8:34Speaker 1: If it did pay off. And uh, I do want
- 8:37Speaker 1: to say, me and your dad we have the best
- 8:43Speaker 1: conversation of just nothing, like we just looked because he.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Can each other.
- 8:48Speaker 1: We just I don't know enough Spanish and he doesn't
- 8:50Speaker 1: know enough England. So we're just looking at each other like, yeah,
- 8:55Speaker 1: you doant to join the movie. I know exactly what
- 8:57Speaker 1: you said. He knows what I'm saying. Yeah, your Dad's awesome. Really,
- 9:01Speaker 1: your whole family is yeah, you know, three kids, three
- 9:04Speaker 1: three boys, three boys.
- 9:06Speaker 2: How is that at the house crazy? You know, Mama Jennifers, Yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 2: it is going crazy.
- 9:13Speaker 1: She has no no feminine energy at all at the house.
- 9:16Speaker 1: She's the only only female.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yeah. God, she's the queen.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Yeah, she's the queen.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Still the queen.
- 9:24Speaker 1: That's that's the three side. Like are you playing ball
- 9:27Speaker 1: and stuff all the time? I got my one son
- 9:29Speaker 1: and he wants he wants to like hit and throw
- 9:32Speaker 1: and everything. All my kids three, the two oldest one
- 9:35Speaker 1: they don't. They don't care about baseball really. The little
- 9:38Speaker 1: one is it is the one always finding the ball,
- 9:41Speaker 1: throwing to me. I can throw it back, okay, you know,
- 9:44Speaker 1: playing around. So I got three. Maybe one is going
- 9:47Speaker 1: to be a baseball player. I don't know, maybe none.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Okay. So and then you were on a one year
- 9:53Speaker 1: deal and then end up signing back with us, and
- 9:59Speaker 1: then you so all that we kind of added and
- 10:02Speaker 1: added and added, like how did how was that for you? Like?
- 10:05Speaker 1: How was that for your perspective of seeing something like that?
- 10:09Speaker 3: It's great?
- 10:12Speaker 2: You know, as a player, you feel really good when
- 10:15Speaker 2: you have just win the Wall Series, you signed back,
- 10:21Speaker 2: and before you sign back, they keep signing like Superstar.
- 10:24Speaker 2: It's like it's Nell, they signed Rookie, they sign Porto,
- 10:30Speaker 2: and they're just trying to make everything better and better
- 10:34Speaker 2: because winning is great. Yeah, you know, my first first
- 10:37Speaker 2: time winning a Wall Series, I was part of the
- 10:42Speaker 2: Houston Astros in twenty seventeen.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I wasn't there.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I got traded, but like getting that feel is great,
- 10:49Speaker 2: and I think that's what the front office get.
- 10:52Speaker 3: They want to keep winning.
- 10:53Speaker 2: They want to keep putting good players on the field
- 10:56Speaker 2: so they can have a better chance. And as a player,
- 11:01Speaker 2: it feels amazing to see the organization doing that.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And the culture. I think the culture that we've.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Built, it's getting better and better because the players that
- 11:09Speaker 2: they are bringing in, it's it's like, Okay, this is
- 11:12Speaker 2: the player that we want, this is the player that
- 11:15Speaker 2: we need. This is the players that it's gonna put
- 11:19Speaker 2: together really good season and we can make them run
- 11:22Speaker 2: by tools.
- 11:24Speaker 1: So that's ah, that's why you gotta love being a Dodger. Okay.
- 11:28Speaker 1: So and then obviously, as you know, we we came
- 11:32Speaker 1: up pretty much together, and we were in the Al
- 11:35Speaker 1: East together and you know, how that that division was.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yeah, you make a lot of place on me. So
- 11:43Speaker 3: I remember all of.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Us, but that division we used to beat up on
- 11:46Speaker 1: each other with all of us, like everybody was really good.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And so now the NL West, it's kind of the
- 11:54Speaker 1: same way. Guys that we have a lot of really
- 11:58Speaker 1: good teams in this vision, and it makes it tough
- 12:02Speaker 1: because you got to show up every day. Like not
- 12:05Speaker 1: that you didn't before, but like now it's even more
- 12:07Speaker 1: reason to like, man, you know that it's pressure, but
- 12:10Speaker 1: no pressure. Yeah exactly. It's like you can't just really
- 12:13Speaker 1: coast through the season because you know these teams are
- 12:16Speaker 1: really good and their coasting is winning a lot of
- 12:18Speaker 1: ball games as well. And so how does that? Uh,
- 12:20Speaker 1: it's you know, it's it's great. I enjoy it. I
- 12:24Speaker 1: enjoy competing. Yeah, honest, you know it's good to win.
- 12:30Speaker 2: And trust me, if I if I can win one
- 12:33Speaker 2: hundred and sixty two, yes good. But for me, it's
- 12:36Speaker 2: more like the excitement of baseball. It's not about just
- 12:41Speaker 2: you win and win and win and win and win
- 12:43Speaker 2: and winning. Like if if you don't feel the pressure
- 12:45Speaker 2: from the other teams, I don't think.
- 12:48Speaker 1: You enjoy it, right, And it's hard. It's the most
- 12:53Speaker 1: I agree, because that's and that is kind of like
- 12:56Speaker 1: the WBC field, where like you're playing against a really
- 12:59Speaker 1: good team or the game really means something every day.
- 13:03Speaker 1: It's like, I like.
- 13:04Speaker 2: The competition, because that's what I said last year when
- 13:08Speaker 2: when everybody was talking about the Padres and I like this,
- 13:12Speaker 2: it was fun.
- 13:13Speaker 3: It was fun. I like the pressure.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I like the osmosphere that is around when these two
- 13:19Speaker 2: teams face each other. It's not gonna be like, oh, yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 2: the Padres are gonna win.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah, who knows, and it's gonna I think it's gonna
- 13:30Speaker 1: it'll make it fun, just because as we go through June, July, August,
- 13:33Speaker 1: when the season really gets long, yeah, you can't really
- 13:37Speaker 1: allow that to happen because there's there, these teams are
- 13:41Speaker 1: constantly winning games, and so it really kind of makes
- 13:44Speaker 1: you perform each and every day and put more effort.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Sometimes sometimes you feel like, oh we just I think
- 13:51Speaker 2: we're gonna win today. We're not gonna you know, play
- 13:54Speaker 2: hard or you know, play at the max level. But
- 13:59Speaker 2: now the thing shift like it used to be in
- 14:02Speaker 2: the in the American League now is nationally Yeah, yeah, it'sion.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And it's not even just our division.
- 14:08Speaker 2: It's like a lot of real everybody's playing really really
- 14:11Speaker 2: good basement like just in general, just just like going
- 14:14Speaker 2: by playing the Nationals, they played really good baseball US.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, every team and every team, every team that
- 14:23Speaker 1: is going to face US, it's going to take out
- 14:26Speaker 1: of them the best because they want to win.
- 14:29Speaker 3: They want to beat the Dodger. You know.
- 14:31Speaker 1: It's it's not it's not like with the villains. It's
- 14:36Speaker 1: just like everybody wants to win. Yeah, exactly. And those guys,
- 14:39Speaker 1: even though they can you can argue that the teams
- 14:42Speaker 1: are not putting a product out on field X, Y,
- 14:44Speaker 1: and Z. I'm not here to debate that, but I
- 14:46Speaker 1: know those boys in that clubhouse they want to win. Yeah,
- 14:49Speaker 1: everybody wants to those boys. It's not the player's fault, No,
- 14:52Speaker 1: it's not. Those boys want to win. And so when
- 14:55Speaker 1: it shows up on the field, like every every player,
- 14:58Speaker 1: the goals on the baseball if it wants to win,
- 15:01Speaker 1: they want to win.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I don't, I don't.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I never met a player that said, oh I don't
- 15:05Speaker 2: like to win. No, nobody says we played this to win.
- 15:08Speaker 1: It's like, you know, speaking of winning, you did the
- 15:12Speaker 1: home run Derby. Last year I did and you won that?
- 15:15Speaker 1: How was that? Like I hadn't even really you know,
- 15:18Speaker 1: the season kind of kept going, so we didn't really
- 15:20Speaker 1: get to talk about it. But like that, but I
- 15:23Speaker 1: was that, like were decided to do it? Why did
- 15:25Speaker 1: you even decide to do it? It was great. I
- 15:27Speaker 1: always uh like one of my favorite thanks uh watching
- 15:33Speaker 1: baseball when I was like little, it was that it
- 15:35Speaker 1: was the deby And I always when I make it
- 15:38Speaker 1: to the big leagues, I always talk to the guys.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I want to be in the derby one day. But
- 15:44Speaker 1: I wasn't that popular time. Okay, then you got popular.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but uh, last year, I talked to my engine,
- 15:55Speaker 2: I took to the team. I talked to Isuel Little Petts,
- 16:00Speaker 2: I talked to him. I talked to everybody to see
- 16:03Speaker 2: if I can get into the okay, and the lot
- 16:08Speaker 2: like the very last chance I get, yeah to be
- 16:13Speaker 2: in the nervy and.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It was a great experience. It was I was nervous, Ah,
- 16:18Speaker 1: you're nervous, Okay, nervous Okay, But it was great, especially
- 16:24Speaker 1: when after I win it that everybody was saying that
- 16:28Speaker 1: I was the first Dodgers to win so that makes
- 16:32Speaker 1: makes it even more special. So it was great, good experience,
- 16:35Speaker 1: and you know, maybe I'm gonna do it again. Okay,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I'll start maybe, Okay, but if you're not in the
- 16:45Speaker 1: you're gonna go. I'm not over there just for the Yeah, okay, okay,
- 16:49Speaker 1: that makes sense. Well let me you just gotta keep
- 16:52Speaker 1: doing your things and you'll be okay. So real quick,
- 16:58Speaker 1: I do want to ask Show, Hey just had his
- 17:02Speaker 1: baby girl. Do you have any advice for him, Like
- 17:06Speaker 1: if you were going to give some dad advice to
- 17:09Speaker 1: Show Hey, what would you tell him.
- 17:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 17:14Speaker 1: It's just like I told him, so I'll let you
- 17:17Speaker 1: think about it. I told him my dad advice was
- 17:23Speaker 1: you should show I said, Show. I don't really have
- 17:27Speaker 1: real advice because there's this is your experience, but like
- 17:31Speaker 1: you should just go and accept that you're not going
- 17:34Speaker 1: to sleep for the next ten years, Like there is
- 17:37Speaker 1: no sleep, So instead of trying to sleep, just accept
- 17:41Speaker 1: that you're not gonna just get up. You know what
- 17:43Speaker 1: I'm saying. Yeah, that does one thing that that was
- 17:46Speaker 1: my advice for Show. Enjoy everything. Yeah, you're gonna enjoy it. Yeah,
- 17:53Speaker 1: he's gonna have to. Yeah, And I think about way,
- 17:58Speaker 1: it's not gonna help. Yeah, just like if you have
- 18:01Speaker 1: to wake up in the middle of the night, just
- 18:02Speaker 1: wake up, just get up, just get up. If you
- 18:05Speaker 1: have to do something, just do it. And and that's
- 18:08Speaker 1: that's life. If you think about it, it's gonna get worse.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Don't think about it. The show is gonna be good.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I mean, just do whatever it takes to keep the
- 18:16Speaker 1: baby quiet and sleeping. I bet I wonder like that
- 18:21Speaker 1: little girl like her her her mom played basketball and
- 18:25Speaker 1: her dad is show times I kind of athletes. She's
- 18:30Speaker 1: gonna be But anyways, we'll see so you right.
- 18:33Speaker 3: But she's gonna be special.
- 18:34Speaker 1: She's gonna be special.
- 18:36Speaker 2: It's gonna be jeans are really really good.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Uh, tell me about like baby tail until and then
- 18:47Speaker 1: how you grew up, and then how you kind of
- 18:48Speaker 1: came through a little bit about your store because I
- 18:51Speaker 1: don't think a lot of people know you know your
- 18:53Speaker 1: backstory and kind of how you became.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Kid Babs god like man where they didn't play baseball
- 19:04Speaker 2: to be in this spot that I am right now,
- 19:10Speaker 2: a little town that not many people where where I'm from,
- 19:14Speaker 2: Dominican Republic.
- 19:16Speaker 1: My mom b Now that's the name of the town,
- 19:19Speaker 1: my moon, my my mom, my moon, my mom. Yes,
- 19:24Speaker 1: so it's like, uh, not much going on over there
- 19:30Speaker 1: besides play and study and you know, just enjoy life,
- 19:36Speaker 1: playing on the street, playing old kind of games outside,
- 19:43Speaker 1: not much much. And then so you got you were
- 19:47Speaker 1: eighteen you signed. That isn't that kind of late.
- 19:49Speaker 3: It is late.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You were eighteen when you signed. And so this was
- 19:53Speaker 1: because usually it's sixteen, right, sixteen there is, that's one
- 19:56Speaker 1: of the big signing. It's like a drop here, okay,
- 20:01Speaker 1: But when I was sixteen, I wasn't good. I started
- 20:06Speaker 1: playing baseball at fifteen to get ready to sign. That's late.
- 20:11Speaker 1: That's usually they start like twelve or thirteen, right, So
- 20:14Speaker 1: I start really late. But I love baseball. So if
- 20:19Speaker 1: I have, if you asked me, what skills do you
- 20:23Speaker 1: have back then, none besides loving the game.
- 20:28Speaker 3: So I like to play. I love to play. But
- 20:33Speaker 3: it was like it was hard. I mean it was not.
- 20:38Speaker 1: It is hard still hard.
- 20:41Speaker 2: To you know, to be ready at age of thirteen
- 20:45Speaker 2: fourteen and be ready, don't try out and all that,
- 20:50Speaker 2: like your kid, you baby, And nowadays it's I think
- 20:55Speaker 2: it's getting even harder because of age.
- 20:59Speaker 3: You do not even think about it. What you want
- 21:02Speaker 3: when you're twelve.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You don't have idea. If I go back, when I
- 21:06Speaker 1: was twelve, I was still playing in the street like
- 21:09Speaker 1: we no no shoes, and then these you don't know
- 21:13Speaker 1: what you want and now they're getting all of those
- 21:17Speaker 1: kids thinking about millions and millions sign and it just
- 21:23Speaker 1: had messed.
- 21:24Speaker 3: But going back, I spent three.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Years doing tryouts, getting ready, preparing myself to see if
- 21:36Speaker 2: I can sign a professional contract. And when I turned eighteen,
- 21:41Speaker 2: that was twenty ten October I turned eighteen, and then
- 21:47Speaker 2: I told my family, I tell my manager over there
- 21:50Speaker 2: in the Dominican that the twenty eleven it was going
- 21:55Speaker 2: to be my last year of doing tryouts and practicing
- 21:59Speaker 2: and trying to uh sign. So in February I signed
- 22:08Speaker 2: with the Houston Astros and that's when everything starts.
- 22:11Speaker 1: So if you didn't sign, let's say that that year happened.
- 22:16Speaker 1: What were you What was your plan? I think I
- 22:19Speaker 1: will be an engineer, Oh engineer maybe I don't know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: but something that has to be with numbers and in
- 22:26Speaker 1: that area of professional So you don't have to worry
- 22:30Speaker 1: about that now. So then you signed, I know you signed.
- 22:35Speaker 1: You signed for twenty thousand dollars. Twenty thousand dollars you signed,
- 22:39Speaker 1: and then what was the first like, what did you do?
- 22:41Speaker 1: Did you come over? You came over and started playing
- 22:43Speaker 1: rookie ball or no, I played in the Dominican.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Oh, you played in that year twenty eleven playing the
- 22:50Speaker 2: Dominican only that year and then the next year came
- 22:54Speaker 2: to the States and that's when my career start. That
- 22:58Speaker 2: same year I got called up from Rookie Bowl to
- 23:03Speaker 2: low A and then thirteen low A again and high
- 23:07Speaker 2: A and then fourteen hi A double A, and then
- 23:14Speaker 2: fifteen double A and then sixteen double A again.
- 23:18Speaker 3: And triple A in the bigs.
- 23:21Speaker 2: That's that's that's when I make it to the Bagless
- 23:23Speaker 2: in two thousand sixteen.
- 23:25Speaker 1: And I remember seeing when you came up and I'm like,
- 23:28Speaker 1: know who this guy is?
- 23:29Speaker 3: You know whatever?
- 23:30Speaker 1: You were a superstar with y I was all right,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I was, I was doing all right. So you got
- 23:35Speaker 1: an MVP and everything. So tell me about uh. I
- 23:41Speaker 1: kind of spoke of the WBC and you know the Olympics.
- 23:45Speaker 1: The Olympics are coming to l A and so hopefully
- 23:50Speaker 1: you're playing in the Olympics. I mean, if I'm I mean,
- 23:53Speaker 1: there's so many people, man, if there's I mean, yeah,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I would see and my plan if yeah, have you played? Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 1: I played last year, last time. And tell me about
- 24:04Speaker 1: you like your experience with the WBC, Like how much
- 24:07Speaker 1: like do you really like? Is that like? Because to me,
- 24:11Speaker 1: the WBC is like.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Is the ultimate, that's the ultimate st Yeah yeah, like
- 24:16Speaker 2: now I went in the Winter lead in the Dominican
- 24:20Speaker 2: I went in the Mount of Leagues. I went, well serious, yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 2: so now I want to win.
- 24:26Speaker 1: You guys, and you guys are always really really good,
- 24:29Speaker 1: so obviously you would do it if they asked you, right, yeah, yeah,
- 24:33Speaker 1: for sure, for sure. And I mean, yeah, you guys,
- 24:35Speaker 1: I mean always representing your country.
- 24:39Speaker 3: It's the best thing you can do.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Do you have like a lot of friends and family
- 24:44Speaker 1: that come for that outside of the regular.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Fan yes, yes, you know Dominican people there.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Say it seems like I'm not saying the World
- 24:55Speaker 1: Series is more important or less important. I'm not making
- 24:58Speaker 1: making that a point, But is that WBC feeling is
- 25:02Speaker 1: not close? Not? Then it's close. I don't think it's
- 25:04Speaker 1: close to maybe because the World Series is like a
- 25:06Speaker 1: seven game series.
- 25:08Speaker 2: It's I don't think two years ago I played with
- 25:14Speaker 2: the WBC and I play against per Weekend and Nezuela.
- 25:20Speaker 2: None of the games that we played last year in
- 25:22Speaker 2: the water, it was not even close.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Do you think it's because it's like a it's like
- 25:25Speaker 1: a one game, it's you know, or if it was
- 25:28Speaker 1: a series, would it feel different?
- 25:32Speaker 3: I think even more. I think it would be worse. Worse.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it would be worse. It's just like
- 25:39Speaker 1: it's like you guys facing Japan. Yeah, it was that's crazy, dude.
- 25:45Speaker 1: And like you imagine, imagine the US facing the Dominican
- 25:51Speaker 1: Republic on the final or Venezuela. Really, any any Latin country,
- 25:57Speaker 1: it's gonna be crazy because I think there's like that.
- 26:02Speaker 1: That's how you know the league is so good, because
- 26:06Speaker 1: it doesn't matter what country you look at, it's it's
- 26:09Speaker 1: going to be insane, you know what I'm saying. Anyway,
- 26:12Speaker 1: like any team that you play, any team put against
- 26:14Speaker 1: the US or Japan, Japan or it doesn't matter, Yeah,
- 26:20Speaker 1: it's gonna be crazy. So I really I really do,
- 26:23Speaker 1: uh you know, I really would like to play about
- 26:26Speaker 1: what about for the Olympics.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Would you want to play in.
- 26:28Speaker 1: The Olympics and you got to play that premium? What
- 26:32Speaker 1: is that?
- 26:32Speaker 3: That's part of the I play that in fifteen.
- 26:38Speaker 1: So you got to play in the Olympics. Yes, that's
- 26:41Speaker 1: some countries have some chances to make it to the
- 26:46Speaker 1: World Classic playing that. Okay, okay, okay, So did you
- 26:51Speaker 1: play any other sports growing up?
- 26:53Speaker 3: Basketball?
- 26:54Speaker 1: You play bowling? You ain't never tell me you bowl?
- 27:00Speaker 1: You're not now you bowling?
- 27:01Speaker 3: Basketball?
- 27:02Speaker 1: That you said? No, no, no, no, no, we don't have that
- 27:04Speaker 1: in the minute volleyball okay. So okay, so basketball, like,
- 27:13Speaker 1: who who have you watched any of the playoffs or
- 27:15Speaker 1: anything like or not? Not? Really you're not like you
- 27:18Speaker 1: don't really like not yet. Okay, so you wanted to
- 27:20Speaker 1: get closer. And then so do you know have you
- 27:23Speaker 1: do you watching like regular season games or anything?
- 27:26Speaker 3: No?
- 27:26Speaker 1: So you just like basketball, you don't watch it? Okay, okay,
- 27:29Speaker 1: So you like shooting and only watch baseball? You only
- 27:32Speaker 1: watch baseball. Yeah, A lot of people call me crazy
- 27:35Speaker 1: because you play baseball. You play and then go home
- 27:38Speaker 1: and watch it and watch I watch it sometimes I
- 27:42Speaker 1: watch it. Sometimes I've been watching a lot of basketball.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I watch a lot of other players. I don't watch myself.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Oh of course. Yeah, like you're watching your homeboys. Like
- 27:52Speaker 1: when you're watching, you just watching, appreciate just for everything, Okay,
- 27:56Speaker 1: and it doesn't matter who's playing.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I can watch it.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It didn't matter who's I love baseball, Yeah, you love
- 28:02Speaker 1: based and so so yeah, I mean, so it's And
- 28:06Speaker 1: then tell me about a little bit about I know
- 28:08Speaker 1: last year we kind of talked when you play left
- 28:10Speaker 1: field last year and now you're playing right are is
- 28:15Speaker 1: that a little more comfortable for you since you came
- 28:17Speaker 1: up and you played right a lot more.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Yeah, but.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I mean obviously last year it was the second time
- 28:26Speaker 2: that I played left field. I was feeling more comfortable. Obviously,
- 28:31Speaker 2: it's not like regular position right field is. I used
- 28:36Speaker 2: to be a center field and in my legs, so
- 28:41Speaker 2: now that I have played all three, obviously center is
- 28:46Speaker 2: the one that is more comfortable. Right that's an outfielder.
- 28:50Speaker 2: If you if you played center before, that's the one
- 28:53Speaker 2: that you're gonna feel like the perfect one because you
- 28:56Speaker 2: see everything.
- 28:57Speaker 1: You see everything so much. But right fields my position
- 29:00Speaker 1: in the big leagues.
- 29:01Speaker 2: And yeah, it's way more comfortable playing there than playing
- 29:06Speaker 2: the left field.
- 29:06Speaker 1: And that was that was a big reason. You are
- 29:10Speaker 1: a huge reason why I'm playing short because I wanted
- 29:13Speaker 1: you to. I want you to come back. And I'm like,
- 29:14Speaker 1: you know what, Yeah, we talked about it. I wanted
- 29:17Speaker 1: you to and I'm glad you he held your word.
- 29:21Speaker 1: That's my dog. You know.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I try everything just sticking back, even if I have
- 29:26Speaker 2: to play left field.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I don't.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I wanted to come back, yeah, And I mean you
- 29:31Speaker 1: saw it and we want and everything, and what was
- 29:34Speaker 1: it that made you really want to come back? Outside
- 29:36Speaker 1: of just like us winning the World Series? It's just
- 29:39Speaker 1: the group, you don't. It's like I never feel that
- 29:45Speaker 1: before really, So like when you like we were together
- 29:49Speaker 1: and everything, yeah.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Uh, you guys were there.
- 29:52Speaker 2: For everybody, not only for me because it's just like whatever,
- 29:56Speaker 2: but for everybody. And when you like I always say this,
- 30:00Speaker 2: and like in every interview that that I get to do.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I always says when you see Mookie, when you see
- 30:07Speaker 2: you Freddy Show, he like Kershaw, Like for mbps, the
- 30:13Speaker 2: way they work, the way they prepare, the way they
- 30:17Speaker 2: they go about the business.
- 30:18Speaker 3: It's it's like it's crazy.
- 30:21Speaker 1: I ain't pay attention, okay, And it's.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Like I wanted to be part of that for many years.
- 30:28Speaker 2: So it's like I don't want to lose that because
- 30:32Speaker 2: I have learned so much from those guys, not even
- 30:35Speaker 2: from those guys like like Will like Merbody, like everybody.
- 30:39Speaker 2: It's it's like the culture of the Dodgers is like that,
- 30:44Speaker 2: like everybody is the same. Like you guys treat everybody
- 30:48Speaker 2: the same, you don't. You guys don't act like you
- 30:51Speaker 2: guys have win everything in baseball. There's not a single
- 30:56Speaker 2: war that you have.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Not won it. Yeah, but I mean and.
- 31:00Speaker 1: You still like doing things that a rookie do, like grinding,
- 31:07Speaker 1: working hard, discipline and and a lot and having that
- 31:12Speaker 1: on my side, it's it's it's yeah, that makes I
- 31:15Speaker 1: would agree. I think just the culture would and you
- 31:19Speaker 1: might have it.
- 31:19Speaker 2: When you were were in and bust them the first
- 31:22Speaker 2: years when you had all of those like Superstar on
- 31:25Speaker 2: the team, when you came up to the bigies, and
- 31:27Speaker 2: that was you know, I kind of grew up, and
- 31:28Speaker 2: I mean I just this is kind of I grew
- 31:30Speaker 2: up and you know, whatever it.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Is, what it is, you know.
- 31:33Speaker 1: But anyways, I got some fan questions. You want to
- 31:37Speaker 1: take some fan questions? Yeah, all right, So since you
- 31:43Speaker 1: watch a lot of baseball games. The question is who
- 31:47Speaker 1: are your favorite players and teams to watch right now?
- 31:54Speaker 1: And nobody like particular, but like who do you? Who
- 31:57Speaker 1: do you enjoy watching me? Compounding Bloodie? Okay, he got
- 32:03Speaker 1: five man? Did he buy you? So he gotta buy
- 32:07Speaker 1: you know, I'm trying to let him enjoy that for sure,
- 32:13Speaker 1: for sure. But we we're gonna get together. Okay, he
- 32:16Speaker 1: already buy when he won AM v P and twenty
- 32:22Speaker 1: twenty one on the Ulstar Okay, yea yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 2: And homeron David was the next year I think that
- 32:28Speaker 2: he won. Yes, the next year in Seattle, he bought
- 32:32Speaker 2: me a backpack, did he?
- 32:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:37Speaker 1: I bet gonna buy you a chain?
- 32:39Speaker 3: Got your back a bit?
- 32:42Speaker 1: Okay, So he wants he wants to buy me a
- 32:46Speaker 1: Richard Merely, Oh god too, that's a lot. That's a
- 32:51Speaker 1: that's a lot.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I say, just used to give me the money.
- 32:54Speaker 1: It's okay, give me the money. You should definitely take
- 32:58Speaker 1: Richard Milly. That's a shout to you, Laddie for Aufred Richard.
- 33:02Speaker 2: From But the Blue Jay is because of him Bowl
- 33:07Speaker 2: Springer for sure.
- 33:09Speaker 3: You know all those guys.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I played with him for for a long time.
- 33:14Speaker 3: And I like to watch.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I mean, I watch every everybody I know, but tell
- 33:18Speaker 1: me one and okay, so what about one team that
- 33:21Speaker 1: you're like, Man, this team is really good like that
- 33:23Speaker 1: you know that you like watching right now? Yeah?
- 33:27Speaker 3: Uh, the Cops, the Cups, they're playing really good baseball.
- 33:33Speaker 3: The Padres.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I know a lot of fans don't not gonna like that.
- 33:37Speaker 2: But they were good last year too, Yeah, and they
- 33:41Speaker 2: better this year, I think. And Austin, Oh yeah, Watchlane,
- 33:51Speaker 2: really good baseball, you know.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so what about this? It says you
- 33:58Speaker 1: talked about how you like pressure and you enjoy playing
- 34:01Speaker 1: with pressure. You know, it's make some more fun. What
- 34:04Speaker 1: was the pressure like in Seattle of the year after
- 34:06Speaker 1: the Mariners broke the playoff drought?
- 34:11Speaker 3: Uh, it was normal, you know.
- 34:13Speaker 2: We when I played there, we missed the playoffs. We
- 34:17Speaker 2: missed the division by one game. I was twenty three.
- 34:20Speaker 2: But but but there are a lot of fans that came.
- 34:23Speaker 2: I feel like Seattle has loki a really really good
- 34:25Speaker 2: fan base. It's it's it was great. It was packed.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Unfortunately we missed the playoffs by one game. Texas and
- 34:35Speaker 2: Houston were tight in first place in Houston win the
- 34:39Speaker 2: division because they win the series against Texas and the
- 34:46Speaker 2: Raglu season, so we missed, we missed that opportunity by
- 34:50Speaker 2: one game.
- 34:51Speaker 3: And it was it was sad. It was so.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Disappointed because like when that happened, you go back and
- 34:59Speaker 2: you see the games that like, you think about the
- 35:01Speaker 2: games that we lost during the season. During the season, yeah,
- 35:04Speaker 2: that's why, and then you think about, wow, we really
- 35:07Speaker 2: missed the the playoffs.
- 35:10Speaker 3: By one game.
- 35:11Speaker 1: And it happens to me twice now, by one game,
- 35:15Speaker 1: by one game.
- 35:17Speaker 3: So it was the year.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I don't know if you, I think you were here ready,
- 35:21Speaker 2: but it was the year the Tampa Yankees, Boston and
- 35:26Speaker 2: the Blue Yays win more than ninety two games.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I may have been still, I don't remember where year
- 35:33Speaker 1: it was it was, I don't remember, but.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, the division four teams win ninety something games
- 35:43Speaker 2: and we missed the playoff by one game. The Yankees
- 35:47Speaker 2: and Boston were tied and for the walk car so
- 35:53Speaker 2: they have to play one game.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I wasn't here. I think K was there
- 35:56Speaker 1: that year, Yes, there, Yeah, so it happens to me twice.
- 36:00Speaker 1: So so okay, So speaking of pressure, then do we
- 36:05Speaker 1: The question is do we feel like there's more pressure
- 36:10Speaker 1: after winning a World Series, or more pressure from fans
- 36:14Speaker 1: after winning a World Series, and I don't feel that way.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I don't really feel that way either. I do feel like, uh,
- 36:24Speaker 1: obviously we haven't been we've been, we haven't been hitting great,
- 36:28Speaker 1: and we haven't the the baseball.
- 36:33Speaker 3: That we know we can.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Yeah, we haven't at all. But I mean, but I
- 36:36Speaker 1: also as part of it, and I think, but it's
- 36:39Speaker 1: a long sea, it's a long seat.
- 36:40Speaker 2: It is gonna happen or we're gonna struggle when when
- 36:43Speaker 2: it's not the pitching, it's going to be the hitting.
- 36:46Speaker 3: When it's not the hitting is.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Gonna You know, when you make a run and you
- 36:51Speaker 1: win ten games, that's when everything's cleaning. Pitching is doing
- 36:55Speaker 1: their job, the hitters are scoring a lot of runs, and.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Right now we're not doing that.
- 37:00Speaker 1: We're not doing that.
- 37:01Speaker 3: We're not hitting right now. No we're not.
- 37:03Speaker 1: We're having good we're picturing really good.
- 37:05Speaker 3: But we're not hitting. No, we're not.
- 37:06Speaker 1: And it's normal. But we're gonna get it. Yeah, I
- 37:09Speaker 1: think at some point, if we all still understand we're
- 37:15Speaker 1: playing besides the hitting, we're playing really good baseball.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I think that good difference pitching is there, like the
- 37:23Speaker 2: regular things we're doing the regular things, they're just not
- 37:26Speaker 2: We're just not hitting hitting, which is cool.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I mean that's part of it. Obviously we would like to.
- 37:30Speaker 1: But also we understand, like this is a process. Yeah.
- 37:35Speaker 2: As a player, when you understand that you're gonna fail more,
- 37:39Speaker 2: it's that's when everything becomes easier.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 2: But sometimes being a fan, they don't understand that. They
- 37:46Speaker 2: just see movie the Superstar that he has to hit. Yeah,
- 37:49Speaker 2: when they see Freddy the Superstar, he has to hit.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Show me will like months like all of those guys,
- 37:58Speaker 2: it's just like, but.
- 37:59Speaker 3: It's gonna happens.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's part of the game and it's understanding and
- 38:04Speaker 1: we know it's a long season. But the but the
- 38:07Speaker 1: good thing is we were not coasting through it either,
- 38:12Speaker 1: Like we're still showing up every day doing everything we can.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Women had all the other things. We understand everything right now, so.
- 38:23Speaker 3: It'll be all right.
- 38:24Speaker 1: That's that's whatever. I'm not even think about.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Things like that.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Somebody asked me, would you would I want to do
- 38:33Speaker 1: the home run derby again? No, absolutely, I I did
- 38:39Speaker 1: it that one time and uh it was in seat
- 38:44Speaker 1: went bloody one yeah and three. Yeah, and it was
- 38:51Speaker 1: I mean it was I know, and I should have
- 38:56Speaker 1: did it in l A. But I just wasn't ready,
- 38:58Speaker 1: you know. I just you know, like I was not
- 39:00Speaker 1: ready and I really wasn't ready in Seattle either. But yeah,
- 39:04Speaker 1: I don't.
- 39:06Speaker 3: I won't do it. It is hard, Yeah, hard.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I mean you're swinging at like seventy percent and you're
- 39:12Speaker 1: hitting homers. If I don't swing at ninety five percent
- 39:15Speaker 1: every time, it is not going over the fence. And
- 39:18Speaker 1: you see me hit VP, I do not hit home
- 39:20Speaker 1: runs and VP. Yeah, but you just won the home
- 39:24Speaker 1: run derby, bro. Yeah, but it's different, I know it is.
- 39:28Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. I don't have that different. I
- 39:31Speaker 1: just got the game ones, the ones that can go
- 39:34Speaker 1: like three thirty five. You know what I'm saying, three sixty.
- 39:39Speaker 1: You know that's why I'm max out sixty ball twice
- 39:42Speaker 1: as us. Yeah, and it counts the same. So that's yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 1: that's but no, I'm not doing it, Okay. So it's
- 39:53Speaker 1: just tail. You love Sammy Sosa. If you could assemble
- 39:57Speaker 1: a four person home run derby with legends, who would
- 40:00Speaker 1: it be? So you? So you and four other people.
- 40:04Speaker 1: If you're all going against each other legends Homer, and
- 40:07Speaker 1: who would you want? Who would you want to do it?
- 40:09Speaker 1: I mean it's wonderful. Okay, so that's too bloody senior,
- 40:12Speaker 1: bloody senior.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Okay.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Three, they can be all dominici. Okay, okay. Four what else.
- 40:28Speaker 3: You Griffy?
- 40:30Speaker 1: Okay, Griffy Okay. I would have said, Barry Bonds, but okay, whatever,
- 40:34Speaker 1: yeah Barry.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I mean no, I get it, I get it.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I get it for sure. That would be uh man,
- 40:46Speaker 1: that I would I would pay to see that. I
- 40:49Speaker 1: think Griffy. I think Griffy could do it now. But
- 40:51Speaker 1: the way the way that home Raby is right now,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I don't think. No, maybe not, he couldn't do it now. No,
- 40:57Speaker 1: but I think I think Griffy, if you gave him
- 40:59Speaker 1: a ten limit, he could do it now. Oh yeah,
- 41:02Speaker 1: still yeah, all of those guys, I bet they are
- 41:05Speaker 1: still Yeah. All right, I got I got questions, I
- 41:09Speaker 1: mean questions, I got time for two more. Oh. People
- 41:14Speaker 1: are asking about the which one of us had the
- 41:19Speaker 1: idea for the celebration for this year for show Hayes thing.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I don't remember who came up what it was. I
- 41:27Speaker 1: think I think it was just there. It was during
- 41:29Speaker 1: the meeting. You didn't know what what what this? You
- 41:32Speaker 1: didn't see it. No, you weren't there. Look at you
- 41:35Speaker 1: know now I know. Oh, but at first you didn't
- 41:38Speaker 1: know what it meant. But when the seasons start, everybody
- 41:40Speaker 1: started doing this. And it was just because some reporters
- 41:44Speaker 1: came to me and asked me, like what this means,
- 41:47Speaker 1: and I said, I don't know. Now I know it
- 41:49Speaker 1: has to be with show, but I don't know if
- 41:51Speaker 1: it's from Google balls because he has a partners of
- 41:55Speaker 1: something with partnerships. I don't know. Yeah, that was I
- 41:59Speaker 1: just remember it may have been my idea. And then
- 42:02Speaker 1: that reported showed me the video the commercial, the commercial
- 42:09Speaker 1: it made. I don't remember whose idea it was, but
- 42:12Speaker 1: we said we were going to do it, and uh
- 42:14Speaker 1: he I think he had to walk off Homer that day. Yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 1: it was on his that's what it was.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody didn't and on the field, Yeah it was him.
- 42:27Speaker 1: It was him. So but so now you so you
- 42:30Speaker 1: were doing the celebration you didn't even know what it was. Yes,
- 42:34Speaker 1: good for.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Everybody's doing it.
- 42:35Speaker 1: So whatever with my boys, whatever they want to do it, Okay, Uh,
- 42:42Speaker 1: let's see one more. Who's the funniest player on the Dodgers,
- 42:45Speaker 1: But you already know who that is. Yeah, that's not
- 42:48Speaker 1: even a valid question. So I mean they love kicking
- 42:53Speaker 1: people do lucky. I didn't realize how I really love.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not like, yeah, they like Mook. They love.
- 43:03Speaker 1: He's a fan and I get it.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I get it. Everybody love.
- 43:07Speaker 1: So all right, brother, Well, thank you for coming on
- 43:10Speaker 1: the show. Uh being the first episode of season three? Wow? Special?
- 43:15Speaker 1: I know you sure we're special. Also, we got what
- 43:20Speaker 1: this is? One of four years, one of four one
- 43:23Speaker 1: of four years with the option is the four years? Okay,
- 43:27Speaker 1: we'll see one four. I still got years after that. Bro,
- 43:31Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I know. But anyway, how you gonna
- 43:35Speaker 1: do it either? Man, I'm playing once a week. Everybody
- 43:40Speaker 1: keeps saying, oh yeah, you say this is a lot
- 43:43Speaker 1: of steal and then this. Trust me, I'm not gonna
- 43:46Speaker 1: play more bass after this, man, Now out it's gonna
- 43:51Speaker 1: out will be. I don't even know what position I'll
- 43:53Speaker 1: be at a plate then, boy, I guess it's gonna
- 43:55Speaker 1: have to be third base. And I can't do I
- 43:58Speaker 1: can't keep running all the way out there.
- 43:59Speaker 3: On the fiel.
- 44:00Speaker 2: You'll be fine, yeah, we'll we'll be all right. So
- 44:03Speaker 2: but anyway, thank you man, thank you for having men.
