Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football priests, Chad Jensen, and Zach Kilmer.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographic location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome in everybody at the Mile High Huddle Podcast.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm your host Chad Jensen with me, my fellow football priest,
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos waved Mercedes-Lewis the tight end who they signed to the 53 right before the Raiders game, so they planned to bring them back on the practice squad, et cetera, et cetera.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: But why could they have perhaps been creating a spot on the roster?
- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: I wonders that break it down.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple reasons it's a procedural thing.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, with Louis, they were out of practice squad elevations.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: You only get three going from the practice squad to the 53 and they used them all.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: They signed them to the active roster.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: They cut him and they can sign him back to the practice squad and reset the elevation counters.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: So that's one thing.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing is Nate Adkins, the fellow blocking tight end, he's getting closer to returning and you don't need a spot.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's already on the 53, but maybe they wanted to just make room and
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking that somebody else's act has to be Ben Powers, or else, or else, since they started his clock yesterday, or else, why waving now, Lewis, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like, could he be coming back now?
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: He hasn't been a full participant yet.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: powers in either of the two practices this week, but basing it on Bronco precedents.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: They don't necessarily have to be in the case of Malcolm Roach when they brought him back off IR for example, Zack.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: He was limited limited full and boom, you know, activated to the 53.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: So because they waved Lewis, I kind of have a feeling that, yeah, I mean, they started
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard conflicting things about power's availability for Sunday.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's good that he's getting back in the mix and the brokers are getting healthier in December and into January.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: I've also heard that they could hold him out another week and save him for next Sunday.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see what happens there.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: It also could be a situation where they have another receiver up like someone like Elijah Moore.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Elijah Moore.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the thing is, he's still got his three elevations.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: They haven't even elevated him yet off the practice squad.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: So kind of interesting to see how it all shakes out.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, Lewis, he's going to stay in the fold.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's extremely unlikely he's going to get claimed.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: So he'll be back.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: He'll restart the elevations and off we go.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: Papa Bear, good to see you big dog.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: before we even went live well before we even went live since Merry Christmas Broncos country hashtag 13 and 4 plus plus plus plus plus god bless the USA god bless bonyx yes sir indeed thank you pop a bear and hope everybody's having a good Christmas season and a holiday season so far a sandbam
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: great to see one of our Mount Rushmore superstars and deer members, of course.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: He says, even in guys, so excited for the game on Sunday.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Broncos are going to play one of their best all around games against the pack.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: Whoa, and when by double digits, it will be the first home game in about a month, go Broncos.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: It is kind of curious, Zach, that
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: The Packers have been set up as road favorites.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_02]: Now, grandfee, it's only two and a half points or whatever.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: But when I was writing this up yesterday for an article that published this morning, I'm thinking, all right, the Broncos, they've won 10 and a row, Packers have won four.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Packers, they must, their wins must have been significantly more impressive.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they must be blowing people out.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't look, no, they're not.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: Three or their four wins of this win streak were single score wins.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, all right, well, I don't know, Broncos,
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: haven't lost at home's accents.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: What was it week six of the 2024 season?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of curious but I like it.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: For whatever it's worth, you know, fans are going to see it as disrespect.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's the odds makers.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not something the Broncos control.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: But Zach, I like it because it gives them a slight edge.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's something Sean Peyton can use in the locker room this week.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yo, you guys have won 10 in a row.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: You're 11 and two.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: You're the one seed.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: They got you at home.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: You're undefeated at home this year.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: They got you at home as a home dog.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: What are you guys
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I take it both ways.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: It is disrespectful considering the packers are not some juggernaut.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: They lost to the Panthers and the Browns this season.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're playing well of late, but they're not someone beatable team.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos should be favored.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think Vegas messed up.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have confidence.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Broncos are gonna prove them wrong.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I also agree with your school of thought as well, Chad, let him hate.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: They thrive off being the underdog.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: And look what Bo Nick said yesterday.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: He goes, he kind of,
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: took the temperature down by saying my mom thinks we're going to win.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's all that matters.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: And that's it's really taking the power back from these media these narrative hungry media members and all these predictions and prognostications.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: The proccas should be favorite, but they're going to love the fact they can go out there in front of their home fans and prove everyone wrong once again.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, though, Sam.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: It would be awesome Sam if they blow them out, but
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: with the past being the best predictor of the future.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm guessing it comes down to the final.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: Whoever has the ball last, you know, a Zeus McPeak in the house could see a big dog.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: Always a pleasure to have Zeus, the first face etched on the MHH Mount Rushmore in the Hizzy.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: Says, hi, all looking forward to the big game on Sunday.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: Got lucky in score tickets.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: Seven rows behind the Broncos bench.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go Broncos, dude, that's gonna be epic.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: Congrats to you on that man.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's going to be it's going to have like a playoff atmosphere because neither team is wanting to interrupt their winning streak and both teams are vying for either divisional supremacy, Zach or conference seating.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, RIP to your voice, too.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: I know that we went to the Giants game for the meat and green.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I had no voice for about a week because it was so crazy.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I have a feeling that you're going to see an epic game as well on Sunday and make sure you bring home a big victory for us.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: But we appreciate the super and your support as always.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: My brother.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: So good to see you.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to, hey, you picked a great game.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_02]: Let alone a game to get some sweet, sweet seeds.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: So good for you, big dog.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you for the support, brother.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: check it in a dear member hope you're doing well David he says tell me if I'm wrong but the Broncos were underdogs in the chiefs and Texans and Eagles I think the Cowboys game look what happened to him yeah I mean they've been I think the Raiders
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: Pick a game's act that they have not been the underdog, besides maybe the Raiders games.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think are the only two they've been favored.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: In recent, like, you know, the last little bit, I like it that they're not favored.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you, I like it because it just, it adds that intangible edge that a good coach, like Sean Peyton, weened in the school of, you know, Bill Parsell's football psychology can use to his team's advantage.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: I just have a feeling they'll they can go on a winning streak up until the Super Bowl and they would still be underdogs for that game chat and no matter what they do how much they win by how many games they win in the row no matter what seed they have they're still going to be Vegas and the media that tries to to tear him down, but I'm right there with you, I think they thrive off being the underdog and they're going to use that bulletin board material to their advantage on Sunday.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, but let him hate.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: Let him hate guys like today.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's all good.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: It serves the Broncos at this stage.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you guys appreciate the love.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: We have a lot more to get to including we're going to talk about the situation here.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: with Pat Bryant and his injury, what it means moving forward.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: But first guys, look, amid such a wild season, we all know how much the ups and downs have taken a toll on everybody mentally, but in all seriousness,
- 8:08[SPEAKER_02]: Taking care of your mental health shouldn't be harder than taking care of your physical health.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: If you pull a muscle or you're suddenly, you know, your back starts aching, you're going to go see a doctor.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: But when it comes to finding the right therapist, suddenly it's frustrating.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: You're dealing with long waiting lists.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: You got to confront huge out of pocket costs and any one of those factors that can stop people from getting the help they need that's right and that's where Rula comes in Rula makes it simple affordable and fast and work with most major insurance plans and the average session copay is just 15 dollars 15 bucks that's basically the cost of lunch but instead of a sandwich you're investing in your own headspace.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: and guys with Rula, you're not just mass with the therapist and left to figure it out, they check in, they make sure you're actually making progress and every therapist on the platform is licensed, vetted, and picked for their expertise.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: So you know you're talking to someone legit, not just whoever happens to be available at the time.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: Getting started cannot be easier.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: You answer a few quick questions about what matters to you.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: And Rula connects you with in network providers who actually fit your needs.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: You pick the time and you could be talking to a therapist as soon as the next day.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: No weeks of waiting, no endless back and forth bottom line.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you've been putting this off, Rula takes away the excuses simple, affordable, and actually built to help you get better.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: Thousands of guys have already used Rula to finally get the care they needed don't keep putting it off guys go to Rula dot com slash mile high and get started today that's are you L a dot com slash mile high take the first step get connected and take control of your mental health all right Zach back to the conversations today so
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: Pat Bryant with a hamstring.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now he was on the injury report last week, but he played DNP yesterday, DNP today, what's the latest on him for fans who might not be monitoring the wire?
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, you said it best yourself.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: He was limited with that hamstring and those are extremely tricky for any player, but especially for wide receivers.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: And if you don't give the player enough time to rest and rehab it, you can aggravate it and to make them out longer.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the Broncos are going to be holding out Pat Bryant in this game unless he has some miracle turnaround and gets a full practice in tomorrow.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: And you'll more than likely see Elijah Moore who they signed recently up for the game on Sunday against the Packers.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what I'd like to see I would hope that if Bryant is absent or even limited in this particular game, I actually hope it means that Marvin Mims is more involved in the game plan because it's not like Zack he's not been out there running route Marvin Mims junior he has I mean we can.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: We can take a look at the snap counts if necessary, but the ball, the focus of the scheme is just not really involving him much.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe that would be the silver lining.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's possible here's act that this could open the door a little bit for Marvin Mims to get his beak wet because it's been a long time since he made a big play on offense.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: Huge on special teams, especially since he's returned from that concussions act, but I'd love to see that impact on on offense as well.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: We say, the Broncos having so many mouths to feed on offense is a good problem to have.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's why it's good because when one of those mouths is unavailable, you still have others that can step up and shoulder the burden.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe if Pat Bryan goes out like you said, you have Marvin Bimm's that can step up.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Evan Ingraham has another breakout game like a couple weeks ago.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe because they're losing a possession guy and Bryant, they'll target Cortland Sutton more and make him the dominant target on Sunday.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: But they have different ways they can scheme around it.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's not that big of a loss.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: if he does sit out against Green Bay.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: So just for Craps and Giggs here, Cortland Sutton was on the field against the Raiders.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: This is just one week, but for 48 snaps, which was 65% of the snaps, Pat Bryant, was on for 35 snaps, that's 47%.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking for Franklin, who snaps have dwindled a little bit.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: Bryant has kind of become the number two, believe it or not, guys.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: Franklin saw 19 snaps, 26%.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: But Zack, the ball's just not finding him for whatever reason, Bonesix, this season doesn't have that chemistry established.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's necessarily a lack of trust, although the implication is that, you know, the chemistry is not there, the trust isn't there.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: But hey, here's to hope and Pat Bryant can bounce back and be available, but I regardless whether he's on the field or not.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see me some more Marvin Mims in this offense, been too long.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, think about Zack, the last two games of the 2024 season.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: He finishes with back-to-back touchdown or back-to-back games with double touchdowns, right?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: Two touchdowns in seven weeks, 17 week, 18.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: In two of the final five games last season, he finishes with over a hundred yards receiving.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not like Bo has never looked his way, but once again, man, he just hasn't been able to get involved in this offense.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: And last thing I'll say, Sean Payton said after the game, both Sunday night and Monday morning in the conference call that the coaches are talking and figuring out how to get Marvin
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I see, string guy in the comments making a good point that they will miss Bryant's hands on third down because they don't really have anyone that's trustworthy except for Pat Bryan, maybe Portland Sutton, but he's been prone to drops, obviously Troy Franklin has as well, pretty much every receiver, including Evan Ingram and Titan, maybe they doubled down the other way and they employ a run-heavy game plan to keep the clock moving, keep Jordan love and that offense on the sideline and mitigate the loss of Pat Bryan.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: So it could be a big game for RJ Harvey potentially.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: Work, work, load wise.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: no doubt.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: Some quick collos here to the members.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: I want to give some shots here.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: We got Pearl in the house.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: I sure hope work and Sunday, but I hope the scores will be announced on the last year.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll try and keep you informed too.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: I know you have it.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, don't you?
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you have a Twitter account.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Just keep it with MHH and we'll totally keep you involved in what's going on.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: Roger jumping into say, I hear Jacob's knee is an issue and he may not play.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: Zach, Josh Jacobs, two games in a row has been a DNP in practice.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: What are you hearing on his week 15 outlook?
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure Jacob's missed a game and then came back and then he re aggravated the injury.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's stemming from a couple weeks ago, but he was a DNP today and Matt LaFlor, the Packers Coach, was hopeful and optimistic that maybe Jacob's could return to practice tomorrow and play Sunday, but regardless, they have a capable backup in a manual Wilson that will get to.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not, it's going to be a drop-off, but it's they also have a capable backup.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: But when you think of Jacob's history, when he was with the Raiders as a Brockless killer,
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: They could be getting away with a big one on Sunday.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, man, he was a big part of that stretch of radar dominance over the Broncos that lasted about half as long as the chiefs winning streak most of that though was the Chuck Eura and then I'm trying to remember Zach if Jacob's played if he was gone before McDaniels or if he played with
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, it doesn't matter, but he has been traditionally, obviously, a Bronco killer.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_02]: So that's what will monitor that.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_02]: When Tucson Phil get to see a buddy on Facebook, says, good evening, Chad Zach and Deacon Scott.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: I read a new uniform was revealed.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: Any idea what it looks like also excited to see L.A. the L.A. doc on Netflix, hashtag
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's maybe a little embarrassing, but I haven't heard much.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: This would be news to me.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: I am excited about the L-way doc.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I can tell you that, Phil.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let me see.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure what he's talking about either, because we'll get back to you on that.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: Phil, we'll see if there's anything there with the new uniform side of things.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: But yes, the L-way doc, I've watched the trailer now like three times and all three times, man.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: I get the little bit of goosebumps at certain points.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: And it looks amazing December 22nd.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say is when it premieres on Netflix.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, that's going to be a goodie.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: I know, you know, you and I don't see I and many movies and TV shows and such, but I'm a big documentary guy.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the Jerry Jones documentary was amazing.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: The air in Hernandez documentary, the Vince McMahon one.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know the L-A1 is going to be the most epic yet.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot wait for that.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I'm trying to see, look, I'm, oh, that's, that's old news.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not seeing anything, Phil, but we'll keep an eye out for the, for the uniform thing.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: We got here where to go.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: I had I had pro 16 shot out here is you saying I'm just glad we have both and I think everyone will see how clutch he is in this game come the fourth quarter.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, still a lot of general not so much disrespect, I guess you could call it that, but just more kind of dismissing like.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: How is it that Bonyx has not impressed the greater NFL this season with what he's been able to accomplish?
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Zach could be one thing if every single game was three quarters of, you know, nothing and then the fourth quarter it goes, two touchdowns and four touchdowns, two on the ground, two in the air, whatever.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: Basically, if every game was like that giant's game, it's hard to put a lot of faith and trust if that was the, but dude,
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: Three drives, three scoring drives, all of which over eight minutes, just suck in the clock.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, 40 minutes to 20 in the time of possession.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: And it wasn't Bonyx's fault, by the way, that that went from a 17 point margin in the fourth quarter to what it finished at seven, right?
- 18:06[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos allowed those points, or was it maybe not 17?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, it was the defense,
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: getting into trouble, penalties, the field goals act to satisfy the spread.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: All that stuff that pissed off a lot of people, by the way, a lot of people lost money on that.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Those are very weird ending to that game for sure.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know the motive for it, but it was definitely weird.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: But pro, we like to say around here that if Bonax could walk on water, the critics would say it's because he couldn't swim.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: So no matter what he does, he can win a Super Bowl, he could be the Super Bowl MVP, and he would still get crap for it.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about it last week, a lot of it stems from these people.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: The narratives they had about him that takes they had about him coming out of the draft, and
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: his first season in the NFL, they don't want to back down from that.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: They don't want to admit they're wrong no matter what vote does, but we don't really care because the Broncos just keep winning football games.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you, Pro 6 to you.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: Um, let's see, Sue Gibson, a dear member says even though the Pats and the Broncos have the same record, they've done nothing but talk about how great the Pats and Drake may are all week.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and a big part of that is that you're not getting the Star Wars numbers from Bonyx, although Zach, I haven't looked at it this week, but Bonyx's numbers have been in the top 10, like it's touchdown passes.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's top 10.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yard, as he's just outside the top 10.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: So where is the, you know, where's the disconnect?
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to wrap your brain around.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, a number one, Drake May is playing MVP, Calder Burt football.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of us in the media and Brock was country one of the Brock was to move up for him.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't never going to happen.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: But we liked him.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: We saw the potential and he is playing well.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: But there's always the media garlings.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: every year, every draft class.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I made the comparison, I don't know, a couple months ago, talking about PS2, that when they came into the NFL, it was sauce gardener, that got all the love and all the attention and all the adulation, and PS2 was better quietly, but he wasn't getting the same amount of accolades, the same amount of media respect and pump.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: The same thing with Drake, man, bonus.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: Drake may is playing a little better, but he's just he has that media darling.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's because he plays in New England and he's succeeding kind of twice removed now Tom Brady or what, but that's just the way it goes in the NFL.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: So get this real quick.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: Here's your, in terms of yardage, going into week 15, Bonax ranks 11th with 2,954.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: The number one guy is DAC Prescott with 3600 and then Drake may number two with 3400 when it comes to touchdowns.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: Stafford is number one, Prescott and Goff are tied at two.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: Drake May's third with 23 Patrick Mahomes and four or five other guys are tied at four with 22 and then bone or baker and Aaron Rogers are fifth type of fifth then you got bone next tied with guys like Daniel Jones, Caleb Williams, Jalen Hertz with 19 passing scores.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not like he's just some guy at the bottom.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's not CJ Straud.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's not Jackson Dart for that matter, or even Bryce Yang to Trevor Lawrence.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's up there, but he does, and his team wins no matter what.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's a mystery.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't want to come off like I'm knocking Drake May at all.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: Again, he's a MVP candidate based on the way he's playing and I can't even say, oh, well, his supporting cast is so much better than Bow Nixon's or his defense is so much better than Bow Nixon's his coaching is so much better.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: Bow Nixon probably has the advantage in every category.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: Both things can be true though, Drake may as playing good football and Bow Nixon's playing good football.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: And it's important to remember before I grab Shannon here.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_02]: Keep them on there, Mr. Producer.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: We are talking about a huge difference in media markets.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like, obviously, we're not really talking about New York City, but just for context, the New York media market is six times bigger than Denver's, right?
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: Even Boston, which is the media market in which Drake may play two times the size of the Broncos of Denver media market.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: So in the total U.S., Denver ranks 17th.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: That has a little something to do with it, but I think it's only a fraction of the of the story.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon Mills, a super chat superstar, a dear member, jumping in, thank you pal, saying, good evening.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: Let the other teams be flashy.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'd rather cheer my team on when they play in the Super Bowl.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well said.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: And look.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: 11 wins all right.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's crazy Zach that they've won 10 games in a row.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like this team didn't win 10 games for eight years, man.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: Eight long years, they couldn't even get to 10 total in a season let alone Zach in a row.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: Number one in the AFC West likelihood to clinch that in a couple weeks.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Number one seed in the AFC there's a better than good chance they're going to clinch that by the end of the season.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing what Sean Payton has done transforming a team that just a few years ago.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: was getting blown out by the Rams on Christmas Eve.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think that was in finishing 5 and 12.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I don't really care how they win.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, Trent Dilfer, one of Super Bowl.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: Brad Johnson, one of Super Bowl.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Rex Grossman got to Super Bowl.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care how they do it as long as they do it.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so far, they're doing it.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Shannon.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so good to see you, Shannon.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: We also have,
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: Mr. Bray skirtle himself in the hissy says my priest some late to the party.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: I doubt we see powers this week, but probably next week Pat Bryant not practicing is concerning I'm hoping he plays Jacob's being banged up is encouraging he's undefeated against Denver.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you right now, guys, like who else could they be making a spot on the 53-4?
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: Why did you waive Lewis now?
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't, you didn't have to.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: Why did you waive him at this very moment in time?
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: You did not have to do that because Zach, as you mentioned, Adkins, it's looking like he's going to be back this week, but he's already on the roster.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: The only guy on IR with whom they've started the clock.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: is Ben Powers.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: So unless they're planning on signing somebody this week, why wouldn't you just status quo?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like if powers isn't coming back this week, you're not bothering with the waving of Marseilles Lewis told next week Monday to say whatever it is.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be surprised, and all the reporting's uncertain.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's been limited both days, but I will be surprised if powers is an activated for this game.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, whether that means he starts or not, if they're gonna ease him back in with the BICEF, because remember, he's coming off a torn BICEF.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see, but they activated him and waved a guy.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: These are kind of corresponding moves in my book, and I don't see anything else out there that could perhaps offset it other than powers.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: This is kind of an aside, but I wonder what's going on with Drew Sanders.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: If we're going to see him in any point this season, Chad, just kind of came to my mind.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm thinking about the players that are on the the injured list, but Ralph that you make a good point there.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's undefeated against the Broncos.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: He always seemed no matter what winter loss mostly wins.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: As you're saying there, he just destroyed them on the ground and the Broncos have struggled in recent weeks with the ground game.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: Although DJ Jones is going to be back for this one, so they're getting healthier on the defensive line.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: This is Clutch, dude.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: He says I'm watching on the big screen on YouTube, commenting on Facebook.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's about helping my boys, boost numbers.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, we love it.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, man.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: We really appreciate that shout out to the Brace Gertle clan.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you for helping us.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: Even that small thing, it's taking ownership.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Helping MHH grow and helping us hit the numbers, dude.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, pal.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: George Fox, this is one of two games that I think will be a close, will be close.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: At home, I feel that's an advantage hard to overcome Broncos for life, hit the thumbs up guys.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos have not lost at home since week six of the 20, 20, for season.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's the Packers.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's who comes in and finally snaps it.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: And there's an argument like I wrote about this in that same story I was mentioning about the whole Broncos are underdogs and they're like,
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's an argument to, hey, if they're going to lose enough, do you want them hold on to the win streak or do you want them like focus and on like the playoffs or I kind of, there's a part of me's act that goes, I want them to give up the ghost on the win streak because I, I'm kind of a little bit, um,
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: 11 in a row we're going all the way baby and then they lay an egg in the divisional round get upset by who Joe Flacco of all people right like that was and then if you go all the way back to the 98 Broncos who had that 13 game winning streak on the way to repeating as world champs you listen to those guys talk about that streak and
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: It becomes this weird pressure that it's own thing that starts hanging over the team like a cloud.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: And it's almost like when they finally lost a game in 98, it wasn't relief.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, okay.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: They could kind of give up the ghost on that and like refocus, re-center, move on, and they did and just utterly destroyed all comers between that point and Super Bowl 33.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a part of me that's like, look, if they lose, I'm not gonna cry over this particular game and if they do lose, which I'm not predicting it, I'll save my predictions for tomorrow in the roundtable, but this would be the one to lose that since it's non-conference.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: When you were saying that I was thinking it's struck me is like a kid to when you're watching a baseball like a picture who has a perfect game going into the later innings and if you if you notice.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone leaves him alone no one talks to him no one interacts with him everyone it's just everyone's kind of.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: I hate intense and everyone realizes the gravity of the moment and you don't want to be focusing on that like Chad was talking about I agree I'd rather than focus their energy energy on the playoffs and if they happen to lose Okay, well the streak is over.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: They have that monkey off their back now They have that pressure off their back.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: They can correct what needs corrected and go into the playoffs forming a new winning streak So I'm right there with you with that train at Bautjav
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: And look, let's say they went out from here.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, cool, like how much will it end up serving and we won't know in terms of the playoffs, but they've been in some very playoff situations this season.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think that's all gonna add up.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: We've talked about the callous and all that.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: But Zach, this is still an unproven team in the playoffs.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: Right, it's a whole different animal.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's a whole different,
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: follow-ups when you get to the to the playoffs because people are fighting for their lives.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: Every game, the intensity level is ratcheted up, the scrutiny, the stakes.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: Everything is so much higher and that's why I like where the Broncos are at relative to the callous and everything because they've been in such close games and come out on top prevailed where it's like I think that's going to serve them by the time you get to the postseason.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: A legendary mythical figure jumping in off the top of the road.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: A dear friend, a long time superstar, and just one of the coolest best dudes I know.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: D-Dub, Dale, love you big dog.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the very generous super chat tonight, my brother.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: says bow and shan went with short quick passing attack with runs sprinkled in by the backs and bow in order to control the time of possession.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: As I mentioned last time he says, I think this will be more prevalent as we go forward for us the opposing defense to defend the short game and then deep shots went available.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, what also helped by the way on the
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: Possessing the ball as much as they did controlling that clock was, they were way the backs were way more efficient when they did get the carries.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you were picking up four or five six yards per carry.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: That really Zach helps second and four.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's better to have right second four than second and eight, second and nine, second and ten.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like they were having for a couple of those games post, post Dobbins, but excellent point.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: And you were right, a hundred percent.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Dale, thank you so much for that generosity.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: You make excellent points there and you set it best, shed a lot of people.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: If you looked at Bonaix's passing chart against the Raiders, he was efficient, but a lot of it were check downs and short passes and passes near the line of scrimmage.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the upside to that.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: You're still gaining chunk yardage.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're keeping the chains.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: you know, moving forward, you're staying on schedule because there's a big difference between second and four and second and eight, like Chad was outlining there.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the new identity.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: Up tempo fast, quick passes, don't let both think too much in the pocket, set it up for the ground game on second down, and then you can go play that play action off that as well.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's also limited the substitutions, the trick plays.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's just going to more of a football, 101 approach, and it's serving the Brock Oswell, but you're right Dale.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: And again,
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: So much more becomes possible for the Broncos if what they got out of RJ in Vegas is just the new status quo.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like as long as he's over four yards per carry on a game-in game-out basis, man, everything else just opens up.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's those three yards and under on the reg that just make it hard to build an offense around.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: And Zach, on one hand you go, well, was the raiders, but as we looked at going into that game and we're gonna get to the head to head here
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: For Broncos Packers, but as we recall from that game, it's not like the Raiders' defense was terrible.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: They lack star power sure outside of Crosby, but they were a top 15, 16 rushing defense.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: And you go back to that first game on Thursday night.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they shut down the run.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like it was tough.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: You got a little bit of,
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: They got a little bit of help by that illegal tackle knocking, uh, knocking Dobbins out for the season and everything, but my point is the big difference wasn't that it was the Raiders in terms of the production we saw on Sunday.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: Anyone who watched that games that could see that RJ was there's something different about him like I don't know it's like something clicked.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_02]: Um, that intensity, the wiggle, the breaking of the tackles, the vision, all the stuff was just lining up.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: So we need a little bit more sample size before we start taking it to the bank.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: But I am very encouraged by that.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: And if that is the new status quo, boy, boy, perfect timing.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: We offer yet that the Broncos are starting a third string tackle at left guard with palter and he's doing excellent don't get me wrong, but it's still a work in progress and configuring the offensive line in the running game and that was a problem even with powders going back to the preseason.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: So my point in saying that is I don't care about the opponent.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: If the Broncos can average four yards a carry against JV team, I'd be happy chat.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: Let alone a divisional opponent who wanted nothing more in that game than to defeat the
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: So like you said, if they can average north of four, that's kind of the recipe for success.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: We've been wondering what their identity is all all season long, quick passes, and averaging plus four yards of carry with RJ Harvey.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: There it is.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, but thank you, D. Dov.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: Excellent.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Paul points as always.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: My brother really good to see you.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out here from our our dear superstar and member.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_02]: Smouse unique prepping says I'm dedicating this year to Duke four years ago on the fifth miss you brother.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: So OGs can remember Duke who was a.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: Major super chat superstar.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: He was part of the MHH UN.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: That little crew of the OG super stars that had a thing going in the chat.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: And He passed away suddenly four years ago on December 5th.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: So, Yeah, shout out to his girls and the memory of Duke.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: Let's hope they go all the way for Duke.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: Some of the stuff up here in my little
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: My little nook, my little corner is stuff that Duke sent to me, by the way, a little trinkets and cool like Bronco memorabilia.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'll go through it one of these days, like for the members on YouTube, I'll go through each one of these things, as each one has a rad story, but yeah, shout out Zach Duke legend.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for those who don't know the the the lore of the M.A.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: Trash podcast, Duke was one of the more influential members we had in the early days and his legacy will always live on will never forget Duke will always remember him.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it's so cool of you unique prepping to mention him and and mention his name and keep him alive here.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, this one's for Duke this season.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt about it.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, guys, the time has come for the head to head comparison.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: Denver Broncos versus, oh, wrong one.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, I clicked on the wrong screen.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Hold on one second.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Denver Broncos versus Green Bay Packers.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: There we go.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's the right one.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: And everybody knows the rules, how it works, not the rules, but you know how how this thing works, green signifies top 10 ranking red bottom 10, and if it's black, then it's somewhere in the middle.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos are 11 and two.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: They're at home.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_02]: They haven't lost since at home since weeks six of 2024 and they haven't lost period since week three.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: Their home dog was nevertheless to this 93 and one team that one tie, by the way, came against a common opponent, Zach, that was the Dallas Cowboys, they tied 40 40 the Broncos utterly blew out the Cowboys wasn't even close.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: We look at these two teams.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: the packers are plus four in the turnover margin.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: So that ranks eight, that means they've taken it away four times more than they've given it.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_02]: And the Broncos still barely in the negative.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_02]: They're just, they're not turning it over, much at all, as you will see here in the numbers, it's just, they're not taking it away.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: So they've kind of remained in this little bit of a no man's land to turn over margin.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: Time of possession though, the Broncos,
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: Last week helped him out a lot in the average, I mean, it was such a huge uptick that they jumped several spots here in time and possession to be in just barely outside the top 10, whereas the Packers are middle of the pack now we look at these these two offenses and we'll start with the Packers here's act and then I'll serve it over to you for some observations 13th in yards.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: Guess who's better in yards that might surprise people the Broncos now we're only talking you know less than two yard difference, but it is what it is a yards per play though here's where you see a big difference the Packers are ranked eighth the Broncos 15th points the Packers are 10th averaging 25 a game Broncos are tied for 14th
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: averaging 24 will call it.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: And then rushing this is nothing to really write home about 19th offense in rushing, passing just outside the top 10, but still nothing that's like blow in your mind.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of crazy to see here's that three yard separates the two in the passing aspect here.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: And then here's where we start getting to some distinguishing factors, though.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: They only have four interceptions this season, both thrown nine, all right.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_02]: So fourth is tied for the fewest in the NFL.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: They only have four fumbles lost tied for the fifth fewest, same with the Broncos.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: So total giveaways, they only have eight, which is tied for the fewest, whereas the Broncos have 13, which is also a low number,
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: Then you get to sack sack.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're pretty close.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: They're pretty close.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: Only one sack separates these two teams.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: But the Broncos still first place tied.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: But look at this and now I'm serving it over to you.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: This is where they really separate from the pack's act.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: They move the ball on third down.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: And when they're in the red area, they score.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: What I was going to say earlier as we'll see illustrated here, these two teams match up really well.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of similarities in terms of how efficient they are on offense and defense.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think on offense, the packers are a little more though.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: And as you can see, 12th and passed in with Jordan Love, 19th with Josh Jacobs.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: As good as he is, the passing game with love and all the receivers they have, and they lost his tight end, but they haven't had
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: Good back up in Luke Musgrave that's where their bread is buttered and when they get down to the right area They score on third down.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: They convert the the they move the chains So they meet first overall they meet a broco's defense that's also first overall in the same category That's why I feel like they're kind of bread and butter here
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object is we're going to see here in just a moment, but we turn to the defense, keeping it on the packer side, their fifth in yards, their sixth in scoring, they are ninth against the run, seventh against the pass.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: But the kind of like the Broncos, they've struggled in the turnover department.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: They do have two more total than Denver, but that's kind of been a struggle for them defensively this year as well.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: They only have 33 only I should say in comparison to Denver's 55, like, you know, 33 for what it's worth.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's barely outside the top 10.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: So they can get after the pass or they have micoparsons.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: third down though middle the pack red zone metal the pack defense where as the broncos their third in yards they are fourth and points
- 39:34[SPEAKER_02]: They're second-in-rushing, tenth-in-passing.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: We just went over the takeaway numbers, but first-in-sax, and here comes the proverbial unstoppable force versus immovable object.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: As we mentioned up here, look, Packers first on third-down offensively second in the red zone, going against the number one defense on third-downsac and red zone.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, unstoppable force, a movable object.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: And the packers with the Micah Parsons trade at starting to kind of reap the benefits now, he's doing his thing out there in Green Bay.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: And they have a lot of other players in the front seven and the secondary that can hurt Bones and the offense if they're not careful.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm still surprised, Chad, by the lack of takeaways.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: I know we talked about it, but seeing the Brock was 27th in fumble recoveries and takeaways is pretty crazy.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: especially with the amount of chaos that that past rush does cause you would think exact it would lead to more opportunities.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: But again, not to make a light of it.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: You guys have heard me say it before, but tell a know who fungus dropped 10 interceptions alone, like literally dude.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: So according to trickle who's who's chartered he says so and I believe him.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_02]: Special teams here.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see, punt return, Broncos moving back up into the top five.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Marvin Mims, middle of the pack on punting, but they are third-zack and grow seventh and net.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_02]: But look, they're a kick game, not so, they're coverage and return game, not so hot.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: And Phil goals, not as reliable.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now remember, how many is, let's have blocked this season?
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to remember, I think he's missed like one fill goal and then had one block from not mistaken, but I could be wrong on that either way, those that middle of the pack bottom in terms of fill goal percentage.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: And then last thing penalties, the Broncos, they're not the worst, but they are the second worst still in penalties committed.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, top five still is
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: pretty middle the pack in fact close to the bottom 10 in terms of lowest number of penalties and their opponents don't get called all nearly as often as the Broncos as you can see here.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had to still see how it's even possible for you to average 5.6 yards of punt return.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's why you've been having a return back there.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: Why even returning to the mall, just call fair catch every game.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: But it's still we talk about the penalties every week.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: You have their averaging way, way too many per game.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have my calculator on me.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I can't tell you the math.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: But what I can tell you is that number has to come up drastically going into the postseason.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: And just real quick before we come off of this here.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just take a look at some of the stats.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: I want to get up into, let's see, so the Cooper's their leading tackler, singleton is back in the triple digits, where he belongs Parsons and Benito's Zach, lead their respective teams in SACS, both with 12 and a half, and look at that, Gary, rings second on the Packers with seven and a half, and coupe, also second with seven and a half.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: Then we look at interceptions, I mean, they have a guy that has three Williams,
- 42:50[SPEAKER_02]: the backup rush linebackers that leads the team.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: But then again, barren would have three, if not for two penalties that wiped a pick six and then another pick of his off the board.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: So there's that.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: And then we look at receiving yards, all right?
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: So pretty close, but Sutton, Sutton's got a couple, a couple hundred over there, leader.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then rushing, if Dobbins doesn't go down,
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's probably over dang near to a thousand right now.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: If not, maybe even over like he was on his way to his first career thousand year or season.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: But Harvey's been picking up some steam, good to see.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then you look at the passing yard, it here, is that between these two quarterbacks, we'll call it, you know, 80 yards separate, some is all.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: So there you have it.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Kristen Watson among the players that you just looked at, he's the one so worry about he's been getting going last couple weeks and he has the deep speed.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: Tucker craft who has mentioned as a receiving leader, he's not going to play.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's injured.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: So Kristen Watson, they have Romeo dobs and they have some other receivers, but that's the deep threat and they're going to have to shut him down.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe with PS2.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt, let's see here.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: So let's see what some of the members are saying, pro-16, I'm calling it now two interceptions and five sacks for Mr. Love.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to remember what the,
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: how he did in was at week 7, 2023, when Jordan love went up against fans' Joseph's defense.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_02]: Remember the Broncos won that game.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: That was the last year of the Russ era, the first year of Sean Payton.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: And it was right before love kind of turned a corner and became what he is now in the way he's viewed today like second half of that season's act is when Jordan love, you know, took the NFL by storm.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's almost like he's a different quarterback than the quarterback he was when they faced him way back then, but I guess there hasn't been that much water under the bridge.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember if it was last year or the year before, but Jordan love is the owner of one of the worst interceptions you will ever see.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: And he was being hit and pressured on that plate if you look it up after this podcast.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: My point in saying that is like any quarterback if you pressure him enough, he will crack.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about two picks for a team that can't get any picks at all, but I do see a handful of sacks and a lot of pressure on, as you say, Mr. Love on Sunday.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: So for what it's worth, I just took a quick look at that box score from from 2023 and Jordan Love went 21 of 31, 180 yards, two touchdowns, one pick, zero sacks.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't sacked.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: That was also about the time if memory serves Zach that Benito became a starter because
- 45:49[SPEAKER_02]: So Jordan love might not be that same guy that he was he's probably a better quarterback now just by virtue of his experience, but Nick Benito's different Jonathan Cooper's different even Zach Allen all those guys have come a long way and the guys they faced even in those joint practices that not this past summer but the summer before I mean you didn't have who phonga you didn't have green law there so some different different players in this particular matchup it's going to be interesting.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're definitely going to get a shorter love to the ground a few times.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: They may pick them off, but I think the pressure is going to be productive on Sunday because this Bronco's defense, I think got a lot better.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: Depy-wise, even, they're back-ups too than the last time they faced off.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: OK, here's what Phil was trying to say about the uniform.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: They're going with Summit White.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: They're doing the White Top Orange Pants combo, which is not my favorite, but White Helmet.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: I hadn't seen that.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_02]: So that'll be an interesting look.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll have to let me see if I can find it on on the Broncos Twitter.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's on there.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: Today I've been a little bit less connected than I normally am.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: Let me see.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: Did they.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see anything jumping out, but that'll be an interesting combo if it's the white helmet Zach.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: Phil saying correction, Navy helmet.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, maybe home.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's my least favorite of the new combos is the white shirt orange pants, but, you know, who cares?
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: Go out and play football and win.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: But his question is, was Lewis wave because adkins is coming off.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: I are.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's the thing that has been kind of the headscratcher with the adkins injury is he's missed.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, his last game, he got hurt when he so he missed some time early came back got hurt in that Cowboys game hasn't played since so week nine 10 11 by 13 he's missed five games That's why it's the questionable why wasn't he put on IR
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: the only explanation being that there was a unforeseen setback somewhere along the way where they were too far in to do it now.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, uh, he might be one or two games farther out than we expected, but to put him on IR now, would screw up the plan.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: So, but he's been on the 53 this whole time.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: That was giving me a drain green law PTSD flashback vibes.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what's going on with that, but like you said, he should have been on IR to begin with if he was going to be up for five games.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have to make a roster spot because he's already on the active roster.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how they fill that opening.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: David really sorry to hear about this buddy, take care of yourself man, especially this time of year says that might be his last communication for the next month, maybe more bad confusion, temperature won't go down, septicemia, really bad.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_02]: Go Broncos.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll hold down the fort dude and you take care of yourself and get on the mend and get back to feeling the way you need to feel buddy and be in a good health and all that stuff.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: Thoughts and prayers
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we'll be thinking of you David and when you can pop back in, let us know how you're doing, but in the meantime, we'll be right here holding it down.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to Quentin, good to see you buddy, dear member.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_02]: All right, guys, so before we go through some messages and take one last look at the chat,
- 49:14[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure, obviously, this goes without saying, but make sure you're there for the gut reaction because we're going to be releasing something new that I think everybody's going to love big announcement on Sunday post game.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: So whether the Broncos win, whether they lose, I think they're going to win, but I'm still kind of marinating on my official prediction.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: I've got to tell about.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: Lunchtime tomorrow is when the round table is basically due.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm still kind of marinating on exactly where I see this when coming down, but I like the way the stars are aligning Zack.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_02]: I like that the Broncos are modest home underdogs.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't love the uniform combination, though, because I'm trying to think, I just think back Zack to the, I don't know, maybe it's the bills.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_02]: playoff game trauma, but I just don't like that jersey combo, but my point here is make sure you guys are there for the gut reaction, not only for the sake of the gut reaction, we're going to be reacting to Broncos Packers, but we're going to have a big announcement stay tuned for that.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's going to be interesting.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: And it's going to be a rock fight on Sunday.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to come down to the wire and I'm right there with you.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't even come up with my own prediction for the game yet.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: Alright guys, we got a few messages, don't go anywhere and then we'll take one last look at the chat.

- 51:22[SPEAKER_02]: In case you missed it guys, it was Mercedes Lewis, who the Broncos waved today, but they do plan to bring him back on the practice squad and his Zach mentioned at the top of the show.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: This was all kind of part of the plan.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: They wanted to be able to reset his clock.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_02]: So to speak, his elevations.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_02]: And so that'll happen so long as he passes through waivers.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_02]: But we got D-Dub jumping in again.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Matt.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_02]: Up rope from Paradise, as you can see in his profile pic, he lives in a beautiful, beautiful place.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_02]: He says on check and down a lot, people might want to study the career of Tom Brady.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: check down King of all time.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: We know he can go deep.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's strategy.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: If Bo gets the play on time and comes to the line relaxed, he makes quick good decisions late in the play clock.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: Then the decisions aren't as good.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's an excellent observation as well.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: Which is, I think, an another thing that they did really well last game against the Raiders was all the timing of the play coming in and getting to the line of Scrimma John time.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: fed into what he's saying, bow, making better decisions, looking more relaxed, et cetera.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: So, and yes, I mean, I don't remember Zack people throwing shade at Tom Brady because, you know, he wasn't always setting the world on fire, but he sure as heck moved those chains one way or another.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I see your first of all, Dale, thank you so much for your continued generosity.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: I see your Tom Brady and I raise you Patrick Mahomes because if you watch most chiefs games and the post-tie-rekill era, Patrick Mahomes throws a ton of short passes, a ton of check-downs and he puts himself in good second to go situations.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the same kind of strategies you're talking there.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't care that it's boring.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if it gets criticized.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: I just care if the Broncos win.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: My high salute, special shout out.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, D-Dub.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: Much love and respect to you, my friend, and all the super chat, super stars, supporters.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_02]: Help us keep the lights on.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like Dales, amazing generosity, pop-up bear, fan-bam, Zeus McPeak,
- 53:31[SPEAKER_02]: middle-click now it's not one to click.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, there we go.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_02]: David Yunkin, Tucson Phil.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to name the names because Streamyard's being weird.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon Mills, George Fox, Ralph, D-Dub.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_02]: Again, Tucson Phil, all you guys.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: Love you.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry I did all of a sudden Streamyard's acting up on my end.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: So apologies for that, but we'll see you on Sunday, can't wait.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: Have a great start to your weekend and great rest of your Thursday.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see you
