Today, let's go back to the park. Luna: Good. I've been noticing all the beautiful flowers blooming. Lucas: Perfect. Today we'll learn how to describe flowers in Italian. Luna: Oh, I love that. Lucas: First, the word for a flower is 'un fiore'. Listen carefully: un fiore. Luna: Un fiore. Lucas: Good. If you see one flower, you say 'un fiore'. Try it again. Luna: Un fiore. Lucas: Exactly. So walking in the park, you might see un fiore. Lucas: Now, let's describe the color. 'The flower is red' is 'il fiore è rosso'. Luna: Il fiore è rosso. Lucas: Yes. 'Rosso' means red. So 'il fiore è rosso'. Luna: Il fiore è rosso. Lucas: Good. If it's a red flower, you know what to say. Lucas: But what about many flowers? 'I fiori' means the flowers. And 'sono belli' means are beautiful. So 'i fiori sono belli'. Luna: I fiori sono belli. Lucas: Perfect. So multiple beautiful flowers: i fiori sono belli. Luna: I fiori sono belli. That sounds nice. Lucas: And if you see a single beautiful flower, you can exclaim 'che bel fiore!' meaning 'what a beautiful flower!'. Luna: Che bel fiore! Lucas: You know, it's little things like learning to say 'che bel fiore' that make language learning fun. And I'm glad we can make these episodes ad-free because listeners chip in monthly. Luna: Yeah, for sure. If you'd like to help, you can support us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That's what keeps us going. Lucas: Exactly. Every contribution helps. Now, back to the flowers — do you know how to say 'the flower smells' in Italian? Luna: Hmm, no. Tell me. Lucas: It's 'il fiore profuma'. So 'the flower smells', like a nice scent. Luna: Il fiore profuma. Lucas: Yes. So you can imagine being in the park and saying 'Che bel fiore! Il fiore profuma.' Luna: Che bel fiore! Il fiore profuma. Lucas: Good. Now let's practice a little scene. I say 'Guarda, un fiore.' What do you see? Luna: Un fiore. Che bel fiore! Lucas: Yes. And what color is it? Luna: Il fiore è rosso. Lucas: And if there are many? Luna: I fiori sono belli. Lucas: And does it smell? Luna: Il fiore profuma. Lucas: Perfect! You've got it. Today we learned: un fiore, il fiore è rosso, i fiori sono belli, che bel fiore!, and il fiore profuma. Luna: That was a nice dose of spring vocabulary. Lucas: Practice these phrases the next time you see a flower. Thanks for learning with Fexingo. Arrivederci! Luna: Ciao ciao!
