- 0:08Carmen Lezeth: So Rick hi always nice to see you.
- 0:12Carmen Lezeth: I want to welcome my friend, kelly.
- 0:14Carmen Lezeth: Hello Hi, kelly Woo, so nice to see you.
- 0:19Carmen Lezeth: I was going to ask you a long time ago to come on the show and I never did because I was like she's so busy and everything and always out auditioning and she got her kids and her husband and her job and so I was so glad that we were able to connect and figure out a way for you to be on the show.
- 0:37Carmen Lezeth: So I'm really excited.
- 0:39Kelly Quinn: I'm excited too, so I'm so happy you asked me.
- 0:42Kelly Quinn: I figured I wasn't going to make the cut to be on.
- 0:46Carmen Lezeth: Oh, my God, Not in a million years.
- 0:48Carmen Lezeth: But I do know that Tommy is not feeling well.
- 0:52Carmen Lezeth: Hold on one second please.
- 0:55Rick Costa: Is that Tommy?
- 0:55Carmen Lezeth: Hi, this is my brother from another mother.
- 0:58Carmen Lezeth: So, billy, I love you with all my heart, but I'm actually live right now.
- 1:02Carmen Lezeth: You want to say hi to everyone in YouTube land.
- 1:09Rick Costa: Yes, this is live.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It is your night, that is correct and I believe it is 6pm.
- 1:14Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 1:14Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 1:16Carmen Lezeth: We just went live with Kelly and Rick and we have people in the chat and they're listening to you right now because I have you on speaker.
- 1:23Speaker 2: That sounds great.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'll just let them know that I was giving you a friendly update.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Let's chat and see how our lives are.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I love you very much.
- 1:34Carmen Lezeth: I love you.
- 1:34Carmen Lezeth: And I hope your show is a great success.
- 1:37Carmen Lezeth: Thank you.
- 1:39Carmen Lezeth: I love you, billy.
- 1:39Carmen Lezeth: I'll talk to you later.
- 1:40Carmen Lezeth: I'll call you tomorrow, bye, bye, sorry, you know you got to answer all your calls from family.
- 1:47Carmen Lezeth: I'm so sorry.
- 1:48Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, sorry, Okay, so let's start with you, kelly, if you don't mind talking.
- 1:55Carmen Lezeth: I know you mentioned something about our topic, but we'll talk about that later.
- 2:00Carmen Lezeth: I want to talk about you and acting, if that's okay, first.
- 2:04Carmen Lezeth: Okay, yeah, so, kelly, first I thought I would ask you to share with everybody how we met, because I always do that first, if that's okay, because Rick doesn't even know.
- 2:14Kelly Quinn: Yeah, Well, we met in an online acting class with Howard Fine Studio and we were participants in well, it was an acting technique.
- 2:24Kelly Quinn: Right, it was a long.
- 2:26Carmen Lezeth: I'm turning off my phone right now, everybody, I'm so sorry.
- 2:28Rick Costa: It was acting.
- 2:29Carmen Lezeth: It was his.
- 2:30Carmen Lezeth: It was Howard Fine Studios, who I always tell everyone he's one of the best acting coaches in the country.
- 2:36Carmen Lezeth: His book is amazing and we met because it was during COVID right, we both were taking online classes and we met in his first.
- 2:45Carmen Lezeth: I thought it was scene study, but you're probably right.
- 2:48Kelly Quinn: And I think it was like acting technique, like the, whatever the first level was, but it lasted for a bit.
- 2:53Kelly Quinn: I think we had like a good six weeks yeah.
- 2:58Carmen Lezeth: And I hated you no.
- 2:59Carmen Lezeth: She's tell the truth.
- 3:04Kelly Quinn: We bonded over yeah, there was an incident with one of the other students that sort of and then Carmen and I I think you were being a reader for me for one of we had a self tape we've seen.
- 3:18Carmen Lezeth: And you have to tell people.
- 3:19Carmen Lezeth: These people are not acting people.
- 3:21Carmen Lezeth: Okay so so is explain what that is.
- 3:24Kelly Quinn: If she so, she's being a reader.
- 3:25Kelly Quinn: So I have a script and there's two roles and I'm assigned one role and then she's being she's essentially being the voice of the other role, and then I'm using I was using my phone to tape myself doing this scene with responding to her voice, essentially cause she's off camera so nobody's seeing her, and I sort of just took a chance.
- 3:46Kelly Quinn: I was like all right, but can we just talk about?
- 3:48Kelly Quinn: And if we can't, that's fine.
- 3:53Kelly Quinn: You know, but it would like just it was a gossip.
- 3:56Kelly Quinn: Stop thinking about it and I know that sounds so terrible, but it was an interesting thing and she just completely went along and didn't touch me for whatever I said.
- 4:06Kelly Quinn: No, why would I?
- 4:07Carmen Lezeth: We were all feeling the same thing.
- 4:09Carmen Lezeth: I mean, basically, we were all hating some somebody in the class and it's a he.
- 4:15Carmen Lezeth: I think it was a he right.
- 4:16Kelly Quinn: No, it was a she.
- 4:18Carmen Lezeth: Oh, you know what, let me.
- 4:19Carmen Lezeth: I'm so sorry I'm changing a lot of people in the class, but can I just say something?
- 4:25Carmen Lezeth: What we were doing in the class cause I think this is the interesting is what happens in actual film.
- 4:30Carmen Lezeth: When you see a close up of an actor and he's talking or she's talking, they're usually speaking to the camera and someone who is reading to them.
- 4:43Carmen Lezeth: They're seen partner, and I don't think people understand that, because when it's done so seamlessly well, you think you're just watching these people going back and forth because the camera work is going like that.
- 4:54Carmen Lezeth: So I was acting as a reader for her.
- 4:56Kelly Quinn: Yeah, and spoiler alert.
- 4:58Kelly Quinn: A lot of times the other actors not there.
- 5:01Kelly Quinn: It's not the right.
- 5:02Kelly Quinn: Right it's.
- 5:03Kelly Quinn: You're not actually going back and forth.
- 5:05Kelly Quinn: Right.
- 5:06Carmen Lezeth: The real person you're filming at different times and that's difficult because you're not actually going to be able to see the camera work, and if you're nobody like me and you have a scene with, like Tina Fey, tina Fey is not going to show up to read lines with me.
- 5:22Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to be reading with whoever happens to be there and I've got to do all the emotion, all the whatever, as if it's Tina Fey.
- 5:31Carmen Lezeth: You can ask me why I said.
- 5:33Kelly Quinn: Tina Fey later.
- 5:33Kelly Quinn: But anyways, go ahead, I just want to teach people.
- 5:37Kelly Quinn: Go ahead.
- 5:37Kelly Quinn: Yes, I haven't asked her to be a reader a lot, even if I had auditions after that, and we just kept in touch and sort of formed this relationship and it was all over Zoom and electronics because it was during COVID and I mean such a weird time to kind of form a friendship without actually I think it was almost a year, I want to say later before we actually saw each other.
- 6:03Carmen Lezeth: So let's back up, because you actually lived in California and now you live in Chicago, right, and you live here with your husband and your kids and and as soon as we could, you came up and stay.
- 6:13Carmen Lezeth: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, I had a big time audition.
- 6:16Carmen Lezeth: I had a job.
- 6:18Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, you had a job.
- 6:19Carmen Lezeth: So I said, come stay at my place, because that's what you do as an actor you help each other out.
- 6:24Carmen Lezeth: So she came and stayed.
- 6:25Carmen Lezeth: She stayed in a little bunk bed, thingamajig.
- 6:27Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I didn't give you my bed.
- 6:30Carmen Lezeth: I didn't give you my bed, right.
- 6:32Kelly Quinn: I wouldn't have expected that that would have been.
- 6:34Kelly Quinn: I would have been like no, you're sleeping in your bed in your house.
- 6:37Carmen Lezeth: Well, I, just because I mean you have a house, house, you know, I just have a one bedroom by the beach, but but we went to dinner and stuff and it was just kind of cool because, rick, it's kind of like what you talk about when I always ask you, when you meet people in person, does it change things?
- 6:52Carmen Lezeth: And you say, you say no, I I.
- 6:56Carmen Lezeth: This is different because we're not talking about romantic stuff, right, of course, but I actually think it just made it better.
- 7:02Carmen Lezeth: I did, yeah, I mean, yeah, we became better friends, I think because of it.
- 7:08Kelly Quinn: Yeah, and now we have to be far apart again.
- 7:14Carmen Lezeth: But we stay in touch and you've helped me with quite a few things and I keep forgetting how much younger you are than me and Rick, I guess at this point because you started off in the green room and I was like don't talk, don't say a word, don't say anything.
- 7:30Carmen Lezeth: She's like people don't hate me, but I don't really know all the shows from Norman Lear, because when you connect with somebody, you really it does.
- 7:42Carmen Lezeth: Age kind of loses its meaning, you know.
- 7:44Carmen Lezeth: But, rick, do you have any questions for Kelly?
- 7:47Carmen Lezeth: She's an actual different from me, acting wise.
- 7:50Carmen Lezeth: She is actually going out and auditioning all the time and getting jobs and work.
- 7:54Carmen Lezeth: I have kind of stopped doing that because I'm doing other things.
- 7:58Carmen Lezeth: But let me also just say this, and I'm going to give you some props, kelly, don't get mad at me, I don't care.
- 8:03Carmen Lezeth: Don't get mad at me.
- 8:04Carmen Lezeth: So I meet a lot of people in this town.
- 8:07Carmen Lezeth: I do, and I meet a lot of people who know the people I work for or people that know that I have some connections or whatever.
- 8:13Carmen Lezeth: And I also meet a lot of people in acting class, because I'm always trying to build my tool as well and stay on point with performance and stuff.
- 8:21Carmen Lezeth: The thing about Kelly that's really cool.
- 8:23Carmen Lezeth: It's not even that she's a great actress, I know.
- 8:26Carmen Lezeth: Just don't react Good.
- 8:28Carmen Lezeth: Good, I love that you're acting right now, good.
- 8:32Carmen Lezeth: What I love about it is she changed her entire career and I'll leave it up to her whether or not she wants to talk about that from what she used to do to take this shot recently, and she's really good, naturally, but she's also obsessed with working on it and she's got that it factor thing of a jiggy and she's so down to earth and cool as shit.
- 8:52Carmen Lezeth: And so I love connecting with people that I think have integrity and talent and are going to persevere no matter what, and I'm going to make sure I get my 10% when the bitch makes it large.
- 9:02Carmen Lezeth: I'm just kidding, but I had to throw that out there because that's I mean.
- 9:10Carmen Lezeth: That's the other part too.
- 9:11Carmen Lezeth: It was easy to gravitate towards you, you know.
- 9:14Carmen Lezeth: Thank you I don't deserve it.
- 9:16Kelly Quinn: I love you.
- 9:16Kelly Quinn: I love you too.
- 9:18Kelly Quinn: I mean, give me a break.
- 9:19Carmen Lezeth: This is Carmen, I know but can you tell me about what you?
- 9:22Carmen Lezeth: I mean?
- 9:22Carmen Lezeth: Do you mind sharing how you made this choice to become an actor?
- 9:26Kelly Quinn: No, I actually started when I was very little.
- 9:31Kelly Quinn: My parents got me an agent and I was doing the kid modeling thing and I would go to auditions and we lived in San Diego at the time, so the commute is something, and I actually got some very good callbacks for films and they didn't want, they didn't want to make.
- 9:49Kelly Quinn: Yeah, it was frustrating and to give them credit to.
- 9:54Kelly Quinn: One of them would have had to quit work and we just didn't.
- 9:57Kelly Quinn: Yeah, we financially could not do that as a fan.
- 10:00Kelly Quinn: Though not, it's not like they were just like, hmm, I mean they, there was a reason.
- 10:03Kelly Quinn: But I I still remember memorizing Like little paragraphs from books or whatever and then going and having to, you know, do that and I I enjoyed it and I sort of always kept the foot in.
- 10:17Kelly Quinn: I got very involved with sports.
- 10:19Kelly Quinn: I played basketball into college and so I couldn't ever be like, I never went out for main roles, but I would take an acting class right because I, just I would gravitated towards it.
- 10:32Kelly Quinn: Um, and then after school I ended up in law enforcement.
- 10:37Kelly Quinn: I was sorry say that again.
- 10:40Kelly Quinn: I ended up in law enforcement.
- 10:42Kelly Quinn: I was just a regular patrol officer, um, but doing all the regular you know, beat cop stuff, um, and I I looked very young, shocking.
- 10:52Kelly Quinn: I did a uh, a lot of undercover work.
- 10:55Kelly Quinn: So I just argue I kept trying to act, but just in a different Right.
- 11:00Carmen Lezeth: Um, like I was like I'm gonna make it happen.
- 11:02Carmen Lezeth: This is why but this is why I love your story so much because I Motherfucking hate cops.
- 11:06Carmen Lezeth: You and I have had this conversation.
- 11:08Carmen Lezeth: One of my dearest friends was a motherfucking cop.
- 11:11Carmen Lezeth: I love this shit.
- 11:13Kelly Quinn: Um and I, and sometimes I'm hesitant because I really understand why that's very triggering for many people and I.
- 11:19Kelly Quinn: You know, you it, but I know how I acted and behaved and what I tried to do.
- 11:25Kelly Quinn: But, um, unfortunately there's a lot of other people that don't you know that are right.
- 11:31Kelly Quinn: It's not a great experience, but, um, so I, I was in law enforcement.
- 11:35Kelly Quinn: I ended up going federal and I was.
- 11:38Kelly Quinn: I did that for total.
- 11:40Kelly Quinn: Being a cop said 11 years.
- 11:43Carmen Lezeth: How long were you a cop for?
- 11:45Carmen Lezeth: I mean all of it Like so we could just skip to the good part when you decide.
- 11:48Kelly Quinn: I was.
- 11:48Kelly Quinn: I was a cop for five years and then I put the feds for six for six, so 11 years.
- 11:54Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so you were a cop for 11 years.
- 11:55Carmen Lezeth: And what made you?
- 11:57Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I remember kind of this whole thing, but what?
- 12:00Carmen Lezeth: What made you be like, yeah, I'm done.
- 12:02Carmen Lezeth: Um, I mean, I was.
- 12:04Kelly Quinn: I was well.
- 12:05Kelly Quinn: First of all, I was just very unhappy with a lot of what was going on, and my husband who's awesome was like Well, what have you always wanted to do?
- 12:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah and uh, that's a good husband no, yeah.
- 12:19Kelly Quinn: And and I was like well, what do you mean?
- 12:21Kelly Quinn: He's like well, just like a, like a hobby or just what's something you want to do.
- 12:24Kelly Quinn: I was like, well, I've always wanted to actually take real, you know, Acting classes and actually be able to progress.
- 12:30Kelly Quinn: I've only taken just here or there.
- 12:33Kelly Quinn: And so now my husband is like the total optimist and idealist, and I'm very much the pessimist and realist and like he's like, so why I love my husband.
- 12:42Kelly Quinn: He's like so why don't you?
- 12:43Kelly Quinn: And I'm like oh okay, you know it's so easy.
- 12:46Kelly Quinn: He's like I mean, as long as you don't go to the most expensive class, um what you did, but okay, good, well, yeah well.
- 12:54Kelly Quinn: You're bad Um, so Well, not my first class is my first class is Brad of somebody's house?
- 13:03Carmen Lezeth: Oh, oh, I thought you talked about Um.
- 13:05Carmen Lezeth: I thought you were talking about Howard.
- 13:06Carmen Lezeth: Howard he's very expensive, I mean, but he's the best.
- 13:09Carmen Lezeth: I think he's the best, yeah, um, so then?
- 13:12Kelly Quinn: Howard was not until I got that was later.
- 13:15Kelly Quinn: That was later.
- 13:16Kelly Quinn: Yeah, um, so I started doing those classes and got some headshots, uh, and then, just like it happens in california, literally again, my husband On a run being the most extrovert a person in the planet sees this couple walking and they had College shirts from trinity university.
- 13:36Kelly Quinn: And he's like, oh, is that what?
- 13:37Kelly Quinn: Like total stranger, this is him.
- 13:39Kelly Quinn: Oh, is that from you know, san Antonio?
- 13:41Kelly Quinn: They're like, yeah, so he just starts talking.
- 13:43Kelly Quinn: He's like, oh, and then they finds out she's an actor, director, writer and her husband's a producer and they're actually writing a film about sex trafficking, which I that was.
- 13:55Kelly Quinn: I did a lot of my undercover as a cop.
- 13:56Kelly Quinn: A lot of it was about underage sex trafficking.
- 13:58Kelly Quinn: Um, and he goes my wife is an actress, like she did this, you know, and I was like you did not say that.
- 14:04Kelly Quinn: No, everybody says that when they meet this couple.
- 14:07Kelly Quinn: Please, I'm not a real actress, like I was doing that, but I just sort of classes.
- 14:11Carmen Lezeth: Oh, and he was like no, I think I hate that you say yeah.
- 14:13Kelly Quinn: I know, and he's like no, they want your number Whatever.
- 14:18Kelly Quinn: So anyway, that led to sort of my first.
- 14:20Kelly Quinn: I mean, I'm like a glorified background person in that film called wake up and uh, but I was also a consultant for the law enforcement side of it, and so I met Janet through that's Janet Her, and through that project.
- 14:35Kelly Quinn: Then she turned me on to Howard and so then she's the one who turned you on.
- 14:39Kelly Quinn: Oh okay, yes, she was like you have to take his classes, and then I signed up.
- 14:42Kelly Quinn: Okay, then we were there.
- 14:44Carmen Lezeth: Awesome, that is so cool.
- 14:45Carmen Lezeth: I think there's also the uh line of humility versus Factual things.
- 14:52Carmen Lezeth: You know, like I'm not a real actress, yes, you are like.
- 14:55Carmen Lezeth: Well, go back and forth with it.
- 14:56Kelly Quinn: Yeah, at that time too, that's how I felt.
- 14:58Kelly Quinn: You know, now I wouldn't say that, but yeah, at that time I thought now she's like I'm an actress.
- 15:03Kelly Quinn: No, I can just get out, I'm an actor.
- 15:08Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Do you have any questions?
- 15:10Carmen Lezeth: Because I feel because Rick don't even need to be here.
- 15:12Carmen Lezeth: He's like I'm gonna just jump the fuck off dude.
- 15:14Rick Costa: No, like literally everything I'm thinking to ask has already been answered.
- 15:18Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I'm sorry, I'm just trying.
- 15:19Carmen Lezeth: You know what I'm never gonna know?
- 15:21Carmen Lezeth: I don't think Tommy's coming on.
- 15:22Carmen Lezeth: Tommy, we hope you're feeling better, love, yes, he wasn't feeling that great, so he said he might not make it.
- 15:28Carmen Lezeth: But but do you have any?
- 15:28Carmen Lezeth: Rick, you know you could interrupt at any time, but I know it's hard because you know we could go back and forth.
- 15:35Rick Costa: Well, we'll talk more when we get to Norman Lear.
- 15:38Carmen Lezeth: Oh, oh.
- 15:39Carmen Lezeth: He don't give a shit about you, kelly.
- 15:41Rick Costa: No, I do, I'm listening.
- 15:43Carmen Lezeth: No, no, well, we get into spurs.
- 15:44Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I think for me it's also this kind of idea that I love your spirit and that we connect and that you're so much younger than I am.
- 15:53Carmen Lezeth: And I was just reminded of that because when we were in the green room, we were talking about how you've never actually seen or watched a full, yeah, show of Norman Lear, and you were like I'm so sorry.
- 16:06Carmen Lezeth: I was like Shocked and then I realized you're only in your 30s, right?
- 16:10Carmen Lezeth: You're like 31 or something, right.
- 16:13Carmen Lezeth: So I mean, yeah, I'm working with you.
- 16:17Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you are, you're young.
- 16:18Carmen Lezeth: I mean you're in your 30s, it's just, um, you know, I?
- 16:22Carmen Lezeth: I mean a lot of the shows of Norman Lear were also before our time.
- 16:26Carmen Lezeth: We were watching reruns when we were growing up as well.
- 16:29Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, taken away with Norman Lear, since We'll need you to speak at some point in the podcast.
- 16:35Kelly Quinn: But I did see the princess bride and he was a part of getting that.
- 16:40Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that's a great movie.
- 16:43Rick Costa: So yeah, all these shows for us older 50 plus people.
- 16:48Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, I'm just kidding Some of us.
- 16:52Rick Costa: Um, yeah, I you know.
- 16:54Rick Costa: If it wasn't for him they wouldn't exist.
- 16:56Rick Costa: The Jeffersons wouldn't exist, archie Bunker wouldn't exist.
- 16:59Rick Costa: All in the family.
- 17:00Carmen Lezeth: Which one was your favorite?
- 17:03Rick Costa: Um, you know what?
- 17:04Rick Costa: Where's that list?
- 17:05Rick Costa: I had a list.
- 17:06Carmen Lezeth: I sent y'all a list, yeah, yeah.
- 17:09Rick Costa: Actually the one that Currently even now still makes me laugh, and it was my father's favorite too.
- 17:14Rick Costa: It was actually Sanford and son.
- 17:16Carmen Lezeth: Oh see, and I never could watch that.
- 17:17Carmen Lezeth: It just wasn't my thing.
- 17:19Carmen Lezeth: I never could watch that.
- 17:20Carmen Lezeth: Well, well, I, I mean, I think I really liked him a lot, but I liked him more because he was also so politically astutes, right?
- 17:31Carmen Lezeth: So, kelly, I know that you didn't watch any of his shows, but I didn't watch mod either, but I didn't watch a lot of these shows because they were also before our time and, as I mentioned when we talked about I love Lucy, which he didn't have anything to do, I was also at rehearsal most of the time where I was doing other things.
- 17:50Carmen Lezeth: I wasn't home watching TV all the time but, um, one of the things that he is known for is, I guess Nowadays it would be considered, I mean, really taboo subjects at back.
- 18:01Carmen Lezeth: Then it was too, you know, like all in the family, the big thing there wasn't just the race issues that he would play with and make us all think about, because Archie Bunker was a racist, racist, racist, bigoted, terrible person.
- 18:18Carmen Lezeth: But you loved him Because you, you, you wanted him to be better than what he was you know what I mean and you knew that he had a heart.
- 18:26Carmen Lezeth: He had a heart, but he was the epitome of like just Racism.
- 18:32Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 18:32Carmen Lezeth: And also he was very sexist.
- 18:34Carmen Lezeth: His wife was supposed to be this, this and this eat it, you know.
- 18:38Carmen Lezeth: And and also she gets raped on that show, right, I mean, we don't, we don't see that, but she gets that.
- 18:44Carmen Lezeth: That was another taboo subject when she ends up.
- 18:48Carmen Lezeth: That was a big deal for that show.
- 18:50Carmen Lezeth: So you talk about what you talk about the 70s, you know.
- 18:53Carmen Lezeth: And Sammy Davis jr Was on that show.
- 18:56Carmen Lezeth: There were just so many stars that came on this show, but it was really well done.
- 19:01Carmen Lezeth: And then all the spin-offs, which was, uh, good times.
- 19:04Carmen Lezeth: And Jefferson.
- 19:06Carmen Lezeth: Jefferson's and I mean Norman Lear every show seemed to just do a spin-off of a spin-off, of a spin-off which is also on heart of today.
- 19:14Carmen Lezeth: It's not really common.
- 19:16Kelly Quinn: Well, and then one of his more recent things and that was just looking at the list, but it said it was like documentary America divided, and it was, yeah, about these different issues but with some big-name actors portraying that Seems like continued that trend, you know, going forward all the way up to more, whatever the you know mid 2000s.
- 19:36Carmen Lezeth: Right.
- 19:37Carmen Lezeth: It seems sad to me, though, that like nothing's really changed for the better.
- 19:41Carmen Lezeth: I mean, things have changed for the better, but I don't know it sort of went backwards.
- 19:46Kelly Quinn: Yeah, rick, how do?
- 19:47Rick Costa: you feel about it since you've seen the shows, or yeah, I mean, I was watching somebody the other day and they were like you could never get away with this today.
- 19:56Rick Costa: The stuff they said, whoo, never, ever, even today.
- 20:01Rick Costa: It's like Especially the archie bunker.
- 20:03Rick Costa: He's like the absolute, unbelievable list of all, and that's not a word.
- 20:07Rick Costa: I'm believe this, but it is now.
- 20:08Rick Costa: And, oh my gosh, the stuff he said it's like what?
- 20:14Rick Costa: Oh my god, I believe you said that.
- 20:16Rick Costa: But the part of him that was funny to me was he didn't care.
- 20:20Rick Costa: He did, he spoke his mind.
- 20:22Rick Costa: He did not care what anybody thought, he just Just learned it out.
- 20:26Carmen Lezeth: Well, I'll tell you guys all a little secret.
- 20:27Carmen Lezeth: I never talk about people I know or name drop or whatever.
- 20:30Carmen Lezeth: And I didn't really know carol o'connor, but archie bunker is actually carol o'connor, that's his name, and one of my clients had lost her son to drug addiction and so did it.
- 20:41Carmen Lezeth: He and they knew each other very well.
- 20:45Carmen Lezeth: So I had the blessing, in a weird way, to meet him a few times when I first came out to the Los Angeles and I was like you know, like what do you do with that?
- 20:57Carmen Lezeth: Because I'm not actually meeting them, as me I was basically somebody's assistant and in the room, we don't mean, but it was always interesting to me that he is an actor.
- 21:09Carmen Lezeth: He was not Archie Bunker, you know, and I think we forget that and I'm gonna bring it to a movie I just recently saw, which you all know that I wrote a blog post about it Maestro and Bradley Cooper.
- 21:24Carmen Lezeth: It's like any other movie A great actor will portray someone, but it's not indicative of who they are.
- 21:35Carmen Lezeth: They can bring a piece of them, like the great actors bring a piece of them to it, or they find the character within them, or whatever it is, but you have to be able to separate who the actor is from the character.
- 21:48Carmen Lezeth: And I think that was what was interesting about Carol O'Connor was I didn't even see an ounce of Archie Bunker, except that he looked like him, you know, yeah, and I wonder if it was hard for him.
- 22:01Carmen Lezeth: I wonder if it was hard for him to be a racist as a character, and then you know, yeah, I could see that Some people being mad at him.
- 22:10Rick Costa: He's like it's just a character.
- 22:11Rick Costa: That's not who I am.
- 22:13Kelly Quinn: Yeah, Well, I think yeah as an actor, if you do, especially when you are talking about people who are playing villains for lack of a better, if we're just gonna overdo it.
- 22:21Kelly Quinn: Right, If they do their job well, people do, they get, like you know death threats and it's like whoa, how can we talk about race unless we have the racist Like if you don't have it, you can't show it.
- 22:39Kelly Quinn: We have to actually show the reality and the truth, even if it's a little, but I don't think it probably was.
- 22:46Kelly Quinn: But just the point is, we have to show this, otherwise there's no way to open up the dialogue, and so somebody has to be that role and do it in an authentic way, because otherwise it doesn't work.
- 22:57Carmen Lezeth: And he was still good at it because you also loved him.
- 23:00Carmen Lezeth: Like, even as people of color, we loved the show.
- 23:04Carmen Lezeth: We loved the show because it was talking about something and I don't want to talk for all people of color because I was way too young.
- 23:09Carmen Lezeth: I was I don't know five when the show came out, whatever seven.
- 23:12Carmen Lezeth: Right, we were all really young watching the show.
- 23:14Carmen Lezeth: But you remember it because everybody watched it, everybody watched the show, and it was kind of like the talk of the town afterwards or the talk of the next day or whatever people would talk about it.
- 23:24Carmen Lezeth: So you would hear all these adults talking about it and it was just like must see TV or whatever.
- 23:29Rick Costa: I don't even know if it was on NBC Plus plus.
- 23:31Rick Costa: Remember back then.
- 23:32Rick Costa: It's not like today where we have hundreds of channels.
- 23:34Rick Costa: We didn't.
- 23:35Rick Costa: Back then it was only a few.
- 23:37Carmen Lezeth: Right.
- 23:38Carmen Lezeth: Is there anything that you do as an actor, kelly, that you hate doing when you prepare for a character role?
- 23:47Kelly Quinn: Is that too much in the weeds to ask you, but I'm just wondering the one, the most recent one I can think of, and it really was more of an audition that I didn't actually get and, yes, in my mind I got to portray the role for the audition and then I got redirect and essentially it was portraying this mom who, of a teenager, she's seeing a mom and her daughter gets pregnant like a proportion, and she is like you can't do that and I don't want to get into politics.
- 24:20Kelly Quinn: I'm just saying that was the role, yeah, and I, the way I approached it was I am a mom, I have two daughters.
- 24:28Kelly Quinn: Right, you want to talk about okay.
- 24:31Kelly Quinn: You know, how would I, how would I get into this headspace?
- 24:34Kelly Quinn: I sort of approached more of okay, where what could have happened in my backstory to where this would seem like the worst possible thing in my world to hear my daughter saying and I still had an element of, I would argue, warmth in there and also just the conflict of loving my daughter, just feeling all these things.
- 24:56Kelly Quinn: And the redirect I got was to be very cold, just, oh, that's hard.
- 25:03Kelly Quinn: And I and that was I went, wow, maybe if I weren't a mom, I was just going to say I'm not a mother, so I probably could have done it pretty easily.
- 25:14Kelly Quinn: And that's like in the moment in the audition room.
- 25:16Kelly Quinn: So you don't have like.
- 25:17Kelly Quinn: Can I have 20 minutes?
- 25:18Kelly Quinn: You know, you just okay.
- 25:20Rick Costa: Yeah.
- 25:21Kelly Quinn: That's hard to and I, I mean I did, I think, my best version of that.
- 25:25Kelly Quinn: I think, probably for what they wanted.
- 25:27Kelly Quinn: It still just wasn't holding Right.
- 25:29Kelly Quinn: Um.
- 25:30Kelly Quinn: So I think sometimes, when it's something where you have crafted a certain thing and then they're asked to just do the complete opposite and it feels like a really big stretch, that's when you get into them and I get there and maybe, if I you know, I could argue all sorts of things, but I think that was a difficult thing for me.
- 25:53Kelly Quinn: Um, I think the worst, but I don't know if I'll say that's the worst thing.
- 25:57Kelly Quinn: I just think when it's something where you're starting to get into, I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to do it that way.
- 26:04Kelly Quinn: But if that's what they, that's your job, you're the actor and the director wants you to do it, it doesn't really matter.
- 26:09Kelly Quinn: You have to find a way.
- 26:10Carmen Lezeth: You have to find a way.
- 26:11Carmen Lezeth: So, oh, and I see what you've written and I'm ignoring it.
- 26:15Carmen Lezeth: These are, these are people that are not important, except for Tony, cynthia and Steven.
- 26:23Rick Costa: Tony Tony's in the doghouse for today, I think.
- 26:26Carmen Lezeth: Oh, tony's in the doghouse, yeah, all right, why Cause he?
- 26:29Carmen Lezeth: Was on one day, one earlier.
- 26:31Carmen Lezeth: Whatever, hey, kelly, no no, that's not how it?
- 26:36Rick Costa: works baby.
- 26:37Rick Costa: When you said cold mom, I'm thinking that old movie no more wire hangers.
- 26:43Carmen Lezeth: I don't know who that is.
- 26:44Carmen Lezeth: What is?
- 26:44Rick Costa: that, oh my gosh, it was like a.
- 26:46Rick Costa: She was, I think an actress and the daughter she was just kind of.
- 26:51Kelly Quinn: I know what you're referencing.
- 26:52Rick Costa: Yeah, remember the title.
- 26:53Rick Costa: Yeah, I can't remember either.
- 26:55Carmen Lezeth: Whoo yeah.
- 26:56Rick Costa: She was a cold.
- 26:57Carmen Lezeth: Brian, she is married with children.
- 26:59Carmen Lezeth: Mitch, okay, no, he's like.
- 27:02Carmen Lezeth: Hi, kelly, I'm Brian.
- 27:03Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 27:04Carmen Lezeth: So Kelly, he's Brian and he's in Texas.
- 27:08Carmen Lezeth: That's all you need to know about me.
- 27:09Rick Costa: Yeah, it's what you need.
- 27:11Carmen Lezeth: Yes, mommy, yeah, that's good, yeah, mommy, yeah, that's right.
- 27:15Rick Costa: Right.
- 27:15Carmen Lezeth: We love Cynthia.
- 27:16Carmen Lezeth: I love every single opportunity of acting I can get.
- 27:22Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I know you're the same way Like if somebody wants you to play something, you'll just do it.
- 27:26Carmen Lezeth: I don't think I've ever questioned anything.
- 27:29Carmen Lezeth: Look at, melanie, it's all about the editing.
- 27:32Carmen Lezeth: You're still right, melanie.
- 27:35Carmen Lezeth: But I will say one of my heartbreaking moments was when I got a big feature film.
- 27:43Carmen Lezeth: I had a small part in it, kelly, you already know about this story, but it was a huge film with big stars like Tina Fey and Bradley Whitford and all of these, and anyway, I got to do this little piece.
- 27:56Carmen Lezeth: I was.
- 27:56Carmen Lezeth: I was playing actually a cop who, um, a dog cop, whatever they're called, oh, and a canine yeah.
- 28:04Carmen Lezeth: Whatever, I was up, whatever, and they were, and a news crew was interviewing me about a dog.
- 28:11Carmen Lezeth: I forget what the whole thing was because I blanked it out, but anyways, let me just tell you what happened.
- 28:17Carmen Lezeth: So I got this role all by myself.
- 28:19Carmen Lezeth: I didn't have an agent.
- 28:20Carmen Lezeth: It was a big time movie, it was a Ron Howard production.
- 28:23Carmen Lezeth: I go on set, you know, and I get to go on it in a trailer.
- 28:27Carmen Lezeth: To wait, you know, that never happens.
- 28:29Carmen Lezeth: You don't get no trailer night Right.
- 28:31Carmen Lezeth: So it was the end of the day shoot.
- 28:33Carmen Lezeth: I got to do the shoot and we had to do it outside on Melrose, and there was all this traffic that was stopped and there were actually cops there that were hired to move the traffic along, and then there was all these crowds of people like actually people walking by who stopped to watch this filming, which freaked me out, you know they were like can you imagine, like you're so excited anyways, but you're on this big production, whatever.
- 29:00Carmen Lezeth: So I do my scene and I have to cry Like I am, I am a cop.
- 29:06Carmen Lezeth: But then I start crying because whatever, the dog, I don't know, whatever I'm so angry because I'm going to tell you what happened afterwards.
- 29:12Carmen Lezeth: I do the scene and the director was like excellent, cut, great.
- 29:17Carmen Lezeth: And they start watching the daily, like they watch it back Right and my label or whatever it was, my badge or whatever it was, was no, there was like a you know the end plate.
- 29:30Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it had fallen while I was talking.
- 29:33Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't secure.
- 29:33Carmen Lezeth: So I had to do it again and you know I had to cry and everything and I was like okay, I got it, I can do this.
- 29:41Carmen Lezeth: He's like you sure I'm like, I'm good, I'm like can I just have some water?
- 29:44Carmen Lezeth: And like five people come with water, thank you.
- 29:47Carmen Lezeth: We take a minute.
- 29:51Carmen Lezeth: I do the scene again and it was even better.
- 29:54Carmen Lezeth: It was awesome, it was great.
- 29:56Carmen Lezeth: I leave people clap because they know I'd been waiting all day, they know I'm a nobody actor, they know how stressful it was.
- 30:03Carmen Lezeth: We did the first take.
- 30:04Carmen Lezeth: It was great.
- 30:05Carmen Lezeth: The second take was better.
- 30:07Carmen Lezeth: That doesn't normally happen, right.
- 30:09Carmen Lezeth: Like nobody actor, I felt so good about myself.
- 30:13Carmen Lezeth: I was like I am on point my life.
- 30:17Carmen Lezeth: I knew all this time in Hollywood.
- 30:21Carmen Lezeth: Here it is I got cut from the fucking movie.
- 30:24Carmen Lezeth: I got paid for the motherfucking day A lot of money, but I mean like a day of work.
- 30:30Carmen Lezeth: I forget it was like 1500 bucks or something.
- 30:32Carmen Lezeth: I had no agent or whatever.
- 30:34Carmen Lezeth: So it was amazing money, right, because I was a I am a SAG actor, but I knew I reached out to the producer because no one had reached out to me and usually wait within like two or three weeks.
- 30:47Carmen Lezeth: You kind of know when they start doing the editing.
- 30:50Carmen Lezeth: Oh, brian, please, you know you'll hear about it.
- 30:54Carmen Lezeth: So it was like six months, seven months later, whatever.
- 30:56Carmen Lezeth: And you know they told me that I got cut and they were like it's not you, I'm like it doesn't matter, like well my scene was supposed to be.
- 31:08Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if it was Tina Fey or Bradley Whitford or who it was, but they were supposed to be walking into their hotel room and they were going to catch the news and they would see this spot and then move on.
- 31:18Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, and it would have something to do with their next scene.
- 31:20Carmen Lezeth: So it wasn't like a big part, but it was to me.
- 31:25Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, of course you get cut for a lot of reasons.
- 31:28Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I edit now this little YouTube thing that we do and I edit shit all the time for the audio that Rick pride is a like or whoever doesn't like, or whatever.
- 31:38Carmen Lezeth: You know well, you know what I'm saying.
- 31:40Carmen Lezeth: Like, you edit things for a reason, because you need to make it tighter or whatever.
- 31:44Carmen Lezeth: But I went and saw that movie by myself because I wasn't even invited to the crew show and nothing which I thought was mean.
- 31:52Carmen Lezeth: I thought they should have invited me to the premiere or whatever.
- 31:54Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 31:55Carmen Lezeth: Like, cause they do.
- 31:55Carmen Lezeth: The crew it's a guy and they thanked me in the movie, whatever you know.
- 32:00Carmen Lezeth: Like in the credit in the movie.
- 32:02Carmen Lezeth: But I went and watched that movie, which was the stupidest thing for me to do because I cried the whole time.
- 32:07Carmen Lezeth: I was sitting in the theater alone, I know, because I was so sad.
- 32:11Carmen Lezeth: But let me tell you something.
- 32:12Carmen Lezeth: That's the life of an actor, yeah.
- 32:15Rick Costa: And it's not like today where they have you can get the DVD with all the deleted parts.
- 32:19Rick Costa: You know probably have that back then, did they?
- 32:23Carmen Lezeth: I mean.
- 32:23Carmen Lezeth: I'm sure somebody has that and something like you make it big, they're gonna come out with it and everything.
- 32:27Carmen Lezeth: But I Mean I think they get rid of all that.
- 32:30Carmen Lezeth: But you know, I mean, why would they keep it?
- 32:32Carmen Lezeth: I guess I could have asked for it, and that's something I did because I was so in my feelings about it, I was so upset about it and I waited too long because I thought it would be in the movie.
- 32:42Carmen Lezeth: So it was a mistake I made, but yeah, that will always be my most heartbreaking, heartbreaking Moment in LA.
- 32:51Carmen Lezeth: Yeah it's.
- 32:53Kelly Quinn: It's really hard.
- 32:54Kelly Quinn: It is, it is very strange, going hard business.
- 32:56Kelly Quinn: Yeah, you have to a, you have to actually enjoy Acting, the craft of acting.
- 33:04Kelly Quinn: I mean.
- 33:05Kelly Quinn: I know we can talk about people who just got famous to be famous and they've had success.
- 33:09Kelly Quinn: But the when you think of the actors who are the really good actors, right, none of them got into it because they're like I'm gonna win an Oscar.
- 33:16Kelly Quinn: They Love acting.
- 33:18Kelly Quinn: And if you don't because it is the weirdest thing to do, if you don't love it, okay, I would say you know, howard finds us this.
- 33:26Kelly Quinn: Do anything else you have to love acting is you have to love acting, which I I genuinely do.
- 33:32Carmen Lezeth: I've read, and especially I love acting, but I don't like auditioning.
- 33:35Carmen Lezeth: Why, yeah, I like auditioning live.
- 33:39Kelly Quinn: The zoom stuff is difficult for me and I think I'm you know it's you are.
- 33:44Carmen Lezeth: That's newer.
- 33:45Kelly Quinn: Now it's a skill and you have to, we have to do it and I I booked jobs with the zoom callback so, like I, you know been able.
- 33:54Kelly Quinn: But Even if you have the most, you know blank reader, you know like they're giving you nothing in the room, which is fine right, it's still.
- 34:04Kelly Quinn: Easier for me to give something to that than just I, because even when I'm doing zoom, like I can't, if I look at right at the camera, I'm not looking at Carmen, I'm looking at a little hole in my camera, you know like.
- 34:16Kelly Quinn: So you want to connect with somebody Right and and go off whatever, and it's sort of difficult.
- 34:22Kelly Quinn: So auditioning is really hard but I do really enjoy it.
- 34:26Carmen Lezeth: I love being able to try acting, but I like theater, you like film acting I do, but I love theater too.
- 34:33Kelly Quinn: I just right now I'm trying to yeah, he'd be in film more and I don't have a lot of theater training.
- 34:41Carmen Lezeth: But, rick, you love acting I.
- 34:44Rick Costa: Mean, I don't have never done it, but I mean you want to enjoy the all whole process of it.
- 34:48Rick Costa: I've actually listened to a bunch of them lately that said, like we guys were just talking about now, it's all on zoom, it's all on video and they're like, it's just not the same.
- 34:56Rick Costa: You know, and like you know, you trading the the nervousness, and they don't like me, that it on me, surrounded by people, being they, by being in the comfort of your home, but again, you can't see somebody, you can't play off of nobody.
- 35:09Rick Costa: It's just, you know, it's just a bunch of looking for because, yeah, brian, I'll ask.
- 35:14Carmen Lezeth: I'll answer your question in a minute.
- 35:15Carmen Lezeth: I think the difference that's really great about it being on zoom or whatever, on camera Recorded or whatever is you do get to see what somebody looks like on camera, which is actually what they're looking for when you're doing a film or TV show you know, I mean, of course, everything changes with lighting or whatever, and it's a lot for an actor to have to have all that.
- 35:35Carmen Lezeth: But, sag, just part of what they put in this new contract was provisions that people don't have to have an elaborate setup in order to audition, because that's been costing actors a lot of money and also a lot of Jobs.
- 35:50Carmen Lezeth: You know, yeah, and Cynthia asked.
- 35:53Carmen Lezeth: I used Cynthia once to read that's right, because I was having a tough time finding someone and she read with me so I could audition Brian.
- 36:02Carmen Lezeth: I.
- 36:08Rick Costa: That face said everything.
- 36:11Carmen Lezeth: For some reason it wasn't.
- 36:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't think it was about that.
- 36:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't think it was a.
- 36:15Carmen Lezeth: I don't.
- 36:17Carmen Lezeth: I would have called you, but it wasn't a you thing.
- 36:19Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't something I could have you do.
- 36:21Carmen Lezeth: I Forget what it was.
- 36:23Carmen Lezeth: It's totally.
- 36:24Carmen Lezeth: I would have called you, but it wasn't that.
- 36:27Carmen Lezeth: Um, brian asked being on location is better than the stage, and I think what he means is is filming Television, studio or on set versus being on stage?
- 36:38Carmen Lezeth: Let me tell you my, I love being on stage.
- 36:41Carmen Lezeth: I've done both film, television, and I've also done stage work theater, live theater.
- 36:47Carmen Lezeth: Here's why I love theater more.
- 36:50Carmen Lezeth: It's not because I think acting is better.
- 36:51Carmen Lezeth: You know, there's this snooty thing about if you're a theater actor, you'll bet that's not true, because I would give anyone Quarms to go up against Viola Davis or Meryl Streep or you know what I mean.
- 37:03Carmen Lezeth: Like, that's not how it is for me.
- 37:05Carmen Lezeth: What I believe is I'm really good when I get on stage and I have no choice but to perform Right.
- 37:14Carmen Lezeth: You do not get to do a do-do over whether a phone rings or whether Somebody trips accidentally or you mess up a line or you're seen, but you just have to go with it and I'm really good and I love that.
- 37:27Carmen Lezeth: I love the butterflies and the nervousness for me and Kelly will have a different experience and we'll share it when I'm doing film.
- 37:35Carmen Lezeth: I haven't done a lot of television, but I've done quite a few films.
- 37:39Carmen Lezeth: Um, I don't like the repetitiveness of film acting.
- 37:45Carmen Lezeth: So you go back and forth, will do a scene, like me, and Kelly will do a scene here, and then we'll have to then do the same scene again because Rick has to come in and walk by, so we'll have to do the scene again with the camera here.
- 37:59Carmen Lezeth: Then we'll have to do Kelly speaking, doing the scene again without me being in the shot so the camera can do her, and then we'll have to do the scene again with the camera pointing at me, and so I have a really hard time being fresh every time and being Alive in the moment.
- 38:20Carmen Lezeth: It takes such skill and such brilliance and when you're working with so many people.
- 38:25Carmen Lezeth: By the way, that's just the problems with the camera.
- 38:28Carmen Lezeth: There's lighting issues, sound actors fuck up their lines.
- 38:33Carmen Lezeth: I mean, you see scenes in a movie and they've probably been shot what?
- 38:38Carmen Lezeth: At least ten times.
- 38:40Kelly Quinn: Yeah, I mean at least and that and then.
- 38:42Kelly Quinn: And then you have to reset, like depending on what happens.
- 38:48Kelly Quinn: If it's bad enough, it's like, well, there go 30 minutes and it's it's sort of a and you could be in the middle of like your monologue, you know like you're crying and they're like Cut and just Makeup comes over and she.
- 39:10Rick Costa: And that's multiple takes right where there is no multiple takes, big emotional cathartic.
- 39:17Kelly Quinn: You know, and when you're like me and you're not a big name actor Okay, it's takes six I'm like I don't know if I have tears left for you.
- 39:23Kelly Quinn: You know, to like this is a lot of emoting over and over.
- 39:29Kelly Quinn: And, like you're saying, like Getting because, as the actor.
- 39:32Kelly Quinn: Of course we have the whole script.
- 39:33Kelly Quinn: We know what's gonna happen, right, but the whole point of that moment that you're filming or that scene is that your character doesn't, so you have to be just as heartbroken, or whatever, and let it surprise you, and then you might not get exactly emotional.
- 39:48Kelly Quinn: I mean, if you think you're doing it right, it's not quite in the same spot every time, because, unless you're a robot, you could just make yourself go, which I know some people can, I can't, I have to be really connected with it, right for that to come out.
- 40:01Carmen Lezeth: That's what you take acting classes to, so that we yeah, but that doesn't work for me.
- 40:03Carmen Lezeth: Yeah but, I also admit.
- 40:06Carmen Lezeth: Let's also admit, people don't know this.
- 40:08Carmen Lezeth: Films are not done in order, so that's the other reason why yeah?
- 40:12Carmen Lezeth: theater like theater you have beginning, middle and end and you start the play and you go to the middle of the play and you go to the end of the play.
- 40:20Carmen Lezeth: Films are filmed in out of order.
- 40:24Carmen Lezeth: They're never in order.
- 40:26Carmen Lezeth: So Kelly might have this horrible scene at the end where where her partner in business has died and she has to cry about that, and then she has to go and figure out how to tell you know the staff.
- 40:40Carmen Lezeth: And that's the first shot of the movie, the whole story.
- 40:46Carmen Lezeth: Yet it might be the end of the film or whatever.
- 40:51Kelly Quinn: And the only and I'll just say this little time, because I've had a little tiny bit of experience with theater when I was in high school and what I loved about it is you had rehearsals and you're with this group of people and you're going through it and you form this like bond and connection and, like you said, you're going through an order and then you're going through an order and it becomes like a living thing almost with the people that you're on.
- 41:12Kelly Quinn: You know you're on the stage with even if you're in the ensemble, you're not one of the main roles.
- 41:16Kelly Quinn: And then, yeah, there's this excitement and then you get out on stage and it's so exciting to put it all together and you've gone on this journey together.
- 41:25Kelly Quinn: Now, that's not always on TV and film acting especially TV if you're like a day player under five, which is hello, kind of my deal right now, I'm not bonding with these people.
- 41:40Kelly Quinn: I have to come in.
- 41:41Kelly Quinn: I get two seconds and a lot of times the rehearsal is literally while they're shooting, like they do one take and they're like, alright, do this for this take, and it's like, okay, and that's literally the rehearsal.
- 41:53Kelly Quinn: You don't get all this time, so you gotta be ready to go and you're taking that from the audition room and now you have a set.
- 41:59Kelly Quinn: The answer Brian's question of is on location.
- 42:03Kelly Quinn: I think it's better because, of course, when I'm in my little room here pretending that I'm looking at a waterfall, I really gotta go into my head, obviously, because I'm not looking at a waterfall, I'm looking at my box, like when you're on the location.
- 42:17Kelly Quinn: Yes, it makes it a lot easier in some ways to really get the vibe of I'm here and I believe it in my bones.
- 42:25Kelly Quinn: I might not have to do quite as much work before I turn that.
- 42:28Kelly Quinn: You know the camera gets turned on because you're there.
- 42:30Kelly Quinn: But that that was my brief experience with theater and partially why I loved it, because I loved feeling like I was with, like this band of people.
- 42:40Kelly Quinn: Michael Bubbles.
- 42:42Rick Costa: Michael Bubbles hello.
- 42:43Carmen Lezeth: Hi Michael Bubbles, who's he?
- 42:46Rick Costa: calling.
- 42:46Carmen Lezeth: Spider-Man.
- 42:47Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I do Spider-Man back here.
- 42:49Rick Costa: Some of you have.
- 42:49Carmen Lezeth: Spider-Man in the back.
- 42:51Rick Costa: You know it was funny.
- 42:51Rick Costa: I have a game at the end of my broadcast.
- 42:53Rick Costa: I do every day, and today the question was who's the person that whispers the lines on the side in the theater for people that forget their lines?
- 43:00Rick Costa: And I was like, oh, I didn't even think about that and it was Promptor.
- 43:04Rick Costa: Yeah, promptor.
- 43:05Rick Costa: I was like where's Carmen?
- 43:06Rick Costa: We needed her today.
- 43:09Carmen Lezeth: But well, okay, sometimes you forget your lines, but not when you're a professional.
- 43:13Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing I always tell actors who come to LA.
- 43:17Carmen Lezeth: You know, because so many come and then they leave.
- 43:19Carmen Lezeth: If your biggest problem is you can't memorize your lines, you cannot be an actor like I don't even play the game, like oh you know what here a different way?
- 43:28Carmen Lezeth: No, that is like thing number one.
- 43:31Rick Costa: It's like a surgeon fates for seeing blood.
- 43:34Rick Costa: I mean yeah.
- 43:37Carmen Lezeth: You kind of have to know how to memorize your lines.
- 43:39Carmen Lezeth: You got to just figure that out.
- 43:40Carmen Lezeth: If you could pick a character in a movie that you wished you could play, rick, who would it be?
- 43:47Carmen Lezeth: Is there a favorite character?
- 43:49Rick Costa: I was going to be funny and say, jack O'Neill, just because of you.
- 43:53Carmen Lezeth: Stargate is the one.
- 43:54Carmen Lezeth: Oh my god, we're sci-fi buffs, kelly, if you haven't figured it out, with his whole thing in the background.
- 44:00Rick Costa: If we were to go with that show, I'd rather be.
- 44:02Rick Costa: Daniel Jackson, be honest with you.
- 44:04Carmen Lezeth: Really OK, I know.
- 44:06Carmen Lezeth: It's not your favorite, but I like Michael Jackson, dr Daniel Jackson I like the geekiness, but yet super smart, but yet kind of awkward.
- 44:16Carmen Lezeth: So you would like to play that role, like in that show.
- 44:21Carmen Lezeth: It's like Star Trek, but not Star Trek, it's Stargate, like the movie.
- 44:25Carmen Lezeth: Ok, so you would want to play that role for all 10 seasons.
- 44:30Rick Costa: I should be Vin Diesel.
- 44:31Rick Costa: He said Rick should be Vin Diesel.
- 44:33Rick Costa: I need a lot deeper voice role.
- 44:37Carmen Lezeth: Kelly, what role would you want to play?
- 44:39Carmen Lezeth: If you could have played any role that's already been done?
- 44:43Carmen Lezeth: Ugh Wow.
- 44:46Kelly Quinn: It could be film or television.
- 44:47Kelly Quinn: Well, tv role that I can think of, and when I say I grew up watching this, when I realized that I was like I don't think it should have been allowed to watch that at that age, but I would be Scully.
- 44:59Kelly Quinn: Oh, x-files, x-files.
- 45:02Kelly Quinn: I used to watch that one when I was like 10.
- 45:05Kelly Quinn: And my mom used to be like Rick, don't let her watch that.
- 45:07Kelly Quinn: But I love that show.
- 45:10Rick Costa: Yes, we love that show too.
- 45:12Rick Costa: We love that show too.
- 45:14Kelly Quinn: I mean, you know, Jelene Anderson is amazing.
- 45:17Carmen Lezeth: She's an amazing actress.
- 45:18Carmen Lezeth: She's amazing.
- 45:20Kelly Quinn: And she's just like not that she was bad before.
- 45:22Kelly Quinn: Obviously she was amazing before, and then she just keeps doing amazing things.
- 45:27Carmen Lezeth: Well, because she's grown as an actress.
- 45:29Carmen Lezeth: I mean, she's just an incredible, an incredible presence.
- 45:32Carmen Lezeth: But you could see it even like, if you watch the pilot because you know I watch that every once in a while too, because it's free on Karmic or free on Pluto She'll just like lay up at night, we'll watch it, whatever.
- 45:43Carmen Lezeth: And they had the pilot on and I was like, oh my god, they were so young.
- 45:47Carmen Lezeth: Yes, I know.
- 45:50Kelly Quinn: Yeah, I say that, but yeah, it's so amazing, I mean I'm trying to think of.
- 45:55Kelly Quinn: I feel like there's so many that I just go oh.
- 45:58Kelly Quinn: Now.
- 45:59Kelly Quinn: So my brain goes blank because there's too many that I would want to play.
- 46:01Kelly Quinn: But that one came to my mom when I was thinking of TV because, yeah, that's a great one.
- 46:07Carmen Lezeth: I love it.
- 46:07Carmen Lezeth: I'm jealous.
- 46:07Carmen Lezeth: I didn't think of that Investigated the scientific element of it.
- 46:10Kelly Quinn: I love that, and especially her to mold her.
- 46:13Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that's where I would have failed, because I would have not been able to say all the words that she says.
- 46:18Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, no, I actually was thinking about I wish this is going to be weird, but I loved the movie, even though it should not have been better than Color Purple back then.
- 46:30Carmen Lezeth: But out of Africa, I wish I could have played the Bell Streep role with Robert Redford.
- 46:37Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying y'all have no reasons.
- 46:40Carmen Lezeth: No, but I mean any role that Meryl Streep does, and now I look at Viola Davis kind of the same way, the ability to take on any role and make it so exquisitely brilliant.
- 46:54Carmen Lezeth: And every time I think of her I mean I don't know if I could have ever.
- 46:57Carmen Lezeth: Even I wouldn't even touch Sophie's Choice, right, meryl Streep and Sophie's Choice is crazy, amazing.
- 47:03Kelly Quinn: I mean she's amazing.
- 47:05Carmen Lezeth: She's amazing.
- 47:05Carmen Lezeth: But I think I could have done some damage on Out of Africa.
- 47:09Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if it worked because you know skin color thing and everything, but I'm just saying if we could be out there playing, you know, and the love interest.
- 47:17Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, what, rick?
- 47:20Carmen Lezeth: I know you're trying to say something.
- 47:22Rick Costa: No, I was just going to say maybe in the future they'll do like a sci-fi version of Out of Africa, and then you could be hit.
- 47:27Carmen Lezeth: Oh, not a sci-fi version.
- 47:28Carmen Lezeth: Did you ever even see Out of Africa?
- 47:31Rick Costa: Yes, we talked about this movie.
- 47:33Rick Costa: I was mad because Color Purple didn't win the wars.
- 47:35Rick Costa: Because of that.
- 47:36Carmen Lezeth: I know Color Purple coming out though.
- 47:38Carmen Lezeth: Yes, I'm a 20-gif.
- 47:41Kelly Quinn: I know I would also and this is probably going to sound funny, but because I know my type, which is always like procedural, which I get, but I would also like to play.
- 47:51Kelly Quinn: I'm thinking of, well, there's two roles in the help that I would like to play Jessica Chastain's role.
- 47:58Carmen Lezeth: In the help.
- 47:58Kelly Quinn: Yeah.
- 47:59Kelly Quinn: In the help.
- 47:59Kelly Quinn: I can't remember her character's name.
- 48:01Kelly Quinn: Yeah.
- 48:01Kelly Quinn: But I mean in that movie it's just the acting across the board is amazing, and obviously Viola Davis isn't it.
- 48:10Carmen Lezeth: But that's what she won.
- 48:11Carmen Lezeth: She didn't show, no, she didn't win for that Not for that one.
- 48:14Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no.
- 48:15Carmen Lezeth: She won for the movie with Meryl Streep and the Nun.
- 48:17Carmen Lezeth: That's where she won her Oscar.
- 48:20Kelly Quinn: That was so good.
- 48:21Carmen Lezeth: And see her screen time was like two minutes.
- 48:24Carmen Lezeth: It was like ridiculous.
- 48:25Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't that much at all.
- 48:26Carmen Lezeth: And that thing is when you see somebody you go.
- 48:29Kelly Quinn: she was barely on the screen and you remember it just impacted on you.
- 48:36Kelly Quinn: You know what I mean and I was just like why is this one not in everything?
- 48:39Kelly Quinn: She is now Well yeah, now she is, I mean obviously.
- 48:43Kelly Quinn: But at that time I don't know that she was as well known as she is now.
- 48:49Carmen Lezeth: No, she wasn't.
- 48:49Carmen Lezeth: That's when she first started.
- 48:50Carmen Lezeth: I mean, that's when we were starting to get to know her.
- 48:52Carmen Lezeth: But OK, here's my question Is there a role you'd never want to play?
- 48:56Carmen Lezeth: Rick, I would play anything In my perfect world I think I've told both of you this In my perfect world, if I could work as an actor and never audition ever again because I don't ever want to, I'm not going to audition anymore.
- 49:11Carmen Lezeth: That's why I'm creating my own space.
- 49:13Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I hate auditioning, but I would want to be like a Klingon in Star Trek and only like the cult, to know who I really am.
- 49:24Carmen Lezeth: Like I've always thought that if I were going to be an actor, it would be as with amazing makeup or whatever, and in a way, not hidden, but only real people who know the show or the movie would know it was me.
- 49:37Carmen Lezeth: That would have been my favorite, because the idea of being unable to walk the street because you're so famous, that would make me nauseous.
- 49:49Carmen Lezeth: Like I've seen it.
- 49:50Carmen Lezeth: I've seen people I mean, I've worked for people who have to deal with that.
- 49:54Carmen Lezeth: I used to have to really deal with it.
- 49:55Carmen Lezeth: I wouldn't even want that.
- 49:57Carmen Lezeth: Brian just said I'd love to play a villain or a villain's right-hand man yeah, that I could see.
- 50:01Carmen Lezeth: Or Jim Holden.
- 50:03Carmen Lezeth: Who's Jim Holden?
- 50:04Rick Costa: I was talking about the expanse, the pre-look of the previous.
- 50:06Rick Costa: Oh, I've never seen the expanse.
- 50:08Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, a role that you guys would not want to play, if any at all?
- 50:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't know that.
- 50:14Kelly Quinn: I have one that I wouldn't.
- 50:15Kelly Quinn: I feel like it's such an active thing I want to try.
- 50:18Speaker 2: I want to try everything.
- 50:20Speaker 2: Just give it to me, let me see what I can do that.
- 50:22Kelly Quinn: I have to say villain, would be really interesting especially if you had a lot of a really great story where you had an act like a three-dimensional villain.
- 50:33Kelly Quinn: You know what I mean.
- 50:34Kelly Quinn: Somebody that's got all this going on and there's a reason why they kind of got into and became the way they did.
- 50:38Kelly Quinn: I would love to do that Right, but that's what I'm telling you.
- 50:42Carmen Lezeth: The first time I had an issue when I did, I didn't have an issue, but they asked me.
- 50:46Carmen Lezeth: I did a short film and it was about.
- 50:49Carmen Lezeth: It was in the beginning.
- 50:50Carmen Lezeth: This was years ago, in the beginning of when we were starting to talk about transgender and I played the aunt of the person the lead who is transgender, and that was a big deal in the audition.
- 51:05Carmen Lezeth: Would we have a problem?
- 51:06Carmen Lezeth: And I was, like I'm a problem of?
- 51:08Carmen Lezeth: I was confused as to what the problem was.
- 51:11Carmen Lezeth: We had read the script.
- 51:12Carmen Lezeth: Why would I be here?
- 51:14Carmen Lezeth: But I remember that being an interesting, because short films are a little bit different.
- 51:18Carmen Lezeth: When people are doing independent films, they want to make sure everyone's comfortable with the subject.
- 51:21Carmen Lezeth: But I thought it was weird that they asked after they gave us the script and the sides If you didn't figure it out, you know what I mean.
- 51:29Carmen Lezeth: I remember when I met with an agent they were like would you do a nude scene, would you do a lesbian scene or whatever?
- 51:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm like are you paying me and it's tasteful?
- 51:38Carmen Lezeth: Yes, if Steven Spielberg asked me to do a nude scene, yes, but if it's a porn thing, no, yeah.
- 51:48Kelly Quinn: I think if it makes sense within the framework in the story of the character and the whole story as a whole, ok.
- 51:56Kelly Quinn: But if it's just I mean gratuitous, just so that we can get the shot of some blonde right?
- 52:02Kelly Quinn: No, no, you know what would be the thing.
- 52:07Carmen Lezeth: Ricky, are you going to answer the question or not?
- 52:09Rick Costa: All I could think of is, if I mean not that I might mind trying to play a villain, but if it's something where it's a murderer and you're seeing me actually murdering somebody, like really violating rules, it's a character though I know.
- 52:22Rick Costa: But then, like I don't want, there are some of my life people like, oh, I remember you killed that girl, like they would just be weird for me.
- 52:28Carmen Lezeth: You would be.
- 52:29Carmen Lezeth: That would mean you're a great actor, because they remember you.
- 52:31Carmen Lezeth: It's oh, I would play a murderer and a heartbeat.
- 52:34Carmen Lezeth: What would be the most challenging role to play?
- 52:36Carmen Lezeth: Well, that's a great go, brian, that's a good question.
- 52:41Rick Costa: I guess it would have to be something that is completely opposite of who you are.
- 52:45Kelly Quinn: I think for me, which I've thought about.
- 52:48Kelly Quinn: This definitely agree with what Rick just touched on, something that's very opposite you in a nor like in whatever your sort of baseline personality is.
- 52:58Kelly Quinn: But I've found that you can usually find that if you access.
- 53:04Kelly Quinn: But when I'm with my kids I'm like this, or when I'm buzzed I'm like that.
- 53:09Kelly Quinn: So how do I tap into that energy?
- 53:12Kelly Quinn: But not because I'm buzzed, but because I'm using it for the character.
- 53:16Kelly Quinn: But I do agree with that.
- 53:18Kelly Quinn: I know for me, yeah, if I was playing a influencer you know, if you're doing the stereotypical Gen Z influencer that would be hard for me because I'm not.
- 53:29Kelly Quinn: That's hard for me to access and I'd have to figure that out.
- 53:32Kelly Quinn: You know I love you said Gen Z.
- 53:33Carmen Lezeth: Are you Gen Z?
- 53:34Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no, no, I don't think I could, but I'm totally messing.
- 53:44Carmen Lezeth: I was messing with.
- 53:47Kelly Quinn: I.
- 53:49Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia said I would love to play any character Zoe Ceylon, another great actress he played, because she is amazing.
- 53:54Carmen Lezeth: She is amazing.
- 53:55Carmen Lezeth: And then Brian said meeting Kane hotter was awesome childhood dream come.
- 54:00Carmen Lezeth: I don't know who that is.
- 54:01Carmen Lezeth: Should I know who Kane hotter is?
- 54:04Carmen Lezeth: Okay, um.
- 54:06Carmen Lezeth: So I remember another great Acting coach I had, who was not Howard.
- 54:12Carmen Lezeth: Fine, I Never promote this place because I think it was one of the most horrible places I took acting classes at, but this one instructor made this great point.
- 54:23Carmen Lezeth: He's like we've all murdered before and of course, the whole class was like Hell's he talking about.
- 54:30Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 54:30Carmen Lezeth: I was like whenever a mosquito bites you and you go like that or you get rid of a roach or whatever it is.
- 54:37Carmen Lezeth: That is exactly the same type of.
- 54:41Carmen Lezeth: That's a morsel of what it is to play that character Right.
- 54:46Carmen Lezeth: That's where you would take some of that from this.
- 54:48Carmen Lezeth: Most murderers, when they do all the psychological Background information, they don't think that they're murderers.
- 54:56Carmen Lezeth: They're justified in doing what they think they're doing right.
- 55:00Carmen Lezeth: So I mean, that's the thing about acting is Anyone who plays a villain or plays a bad person or a killer or a serial killer, whatever.
- 55:08Carmen Lezeth: The reason why we end up sometimes sharing for them or the abuser or whatever it is, is Because you put some humanity in them, because you realize they think, from their point of view, they're doing the right thing or they're doing it for a reason.
- 55:25Carmen Lezeth: So you can't look at it as a murderer.
- 55:27Carmen Lezeth: You have to look at it as a person who thinks he has a reason or right to kill, and then it becomes a much more interesting Character.
- 55:36Carmen Lezeth: Right that I would play a murderer in a heartbeat.
- 55:39Carmen Lezeth: In a heartbeat, I would do it.
- 55:40Carmen Lezeth: You kidding me.
- 55:41Carmen Lezeth: I would love the real game.
- 55:43Carmen Lezeth: This is what I love about acting.
- 55:44Carmen Lezeth: I love the research.
- 55:45Carmen Lezeth: Baby, give me the role.
- 55:47Carmen Lezeth: I'm a research.
- 55:48Carmen Lezeth: That shit, I'm a beyond point.
- 55:50Carmen Lezeth: I had to do a play Called I forget the mirror, clean house, I forget what it was, but I had to do a Portuguese action.
- 55:57Carmen Lezeth: I told you this, rick.
- 55:58Carmen Lezeth: I did the research.
- 56:00Carmen Lezeth: I did.
- 56:01Carmen Lezeth: I was so good.
- 56:02Carmen Lezeth: I met with people who were Portuguese, got the accent down.
- 56:08Rick Costa: I was thinking about.
- 56:08Rick Costa: There was a show, tom Holland did it, the one that did spider-man.
- 56:11Rick Costa: And it was was on Netflix, I forget, but he played a character that was multiple personalities.
- 56:18Rick Costa: Oh yeah, there was a really, really good show.
- 56:21Rick Costa: I forgot what it's called, but, um, that I think would be challenging, but I think that would be fun.
- 56:26Rick Costa: Like remember I told you, carmen, when Daniel Jackson was inhabited by that would be fun.
- 56:32Rick Costa: I think that would be a fun.
- 56:34Carmen Lezeth: Such a skill of acting.
- 56:36Carmen Lezeth: That's what people don't understand.
- 56:37Carmen Lezeth: So in Stargate SG one, daniel Jackson, the character walks into a ship and he inhabits the souls of people on the ship.
- 56:49Carmen Lezeth: His body consumes the souls and he starts.
- 56:54Carmen Lezeth: Each soul comes forward in his body and starts speaking.
- 56:58Carmen Lezeth: So he's like a, like a eight-year-old kid.
- 57:01Carmen Lezeth: He's a captain, he's a crew member, he's a woman, whatever, and he goes in and out of it.
- 57:09Carmen Lezeth: It is a spectacular episode.
- 57:12Carmen Lezeth: Just to watch his ability.
- 57:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't know why people don't love sci-fi.
- 57:16Carmen Lezeth: I mean, his Level is on point.
- 57:20Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, I would not want to do that because it would be too hard for me.
- 57:24Carmen Lezeth: I will be honest about that.
- 57:26Carmen Lezeth: I think that would be hard.
- 57:27Rick Costa: We did, he did.
- 57:28Carmen Lezeth: I'm not that good.
- 57:29Rick Costa: He did say challenging, so that's why yeah challenging.
- 57:32Carmen Lezeth: Chris Hemsworth actually is a much better actor than people give him credit for.
- 57:36Carmen Lezeth: I amazing in extraction and extraction too, and those are not usually my genre, but you know I'm gonna see that boy.
- 57:42Carmen Lezeth: You mean anything, anything, okay, but he was really good.
- 57:47Carmen Lezeth: He's a great actor.
- 57:48Carmen Lezeth: I think he's a great actor.
- 57:50Kelly Quinn: I think sometimes too, because he's been in, you know, in these more action things, but people Don't realize that how good that person and I think maybe like Bradley Cooper too, like he was kind of A pretty boy right, if we're gonna label somebody but he's an amazing actor.
- 58:07Rick Costa: What's that word?
- 58:08Rick Costa: Typecasting?
- 58:09Kelly Quinn: Yeah, typecasting, you know, and so sometimes it's like these people are incredible actors and you're sort of Trying to get like.
- 58:17Kelly Quinn: I remember they did.
- 58:18Kelly Quinn: I think it was on the Graham Norton show when he did um ghost busters.
- 58:21Kelly Quinn: Chris Hemsworth did the first ghost busters.
- 58:24Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that's right with the women.
- 58:25Kelly Quinn: He's like yeah, cast and they were all talking about how they're like.
- 58:28Kelly Quinn: We never rooted so hard for somebody to be a complete Like a hole and he was not, you know.
- 58:35Kelly Quinn: And then they're like he was so funny, it's not hilarious he is very funny.
- 58:40Kelly Quinn: Yeah, and they were like he was amazing and it was just so funny to hear them all be like we really wanted to.
- 58:45Kelly Quinn: Not like you know, not like him and then Incredible sweetheart.
- 58:50Carmen Lezeth: He's a sweetheart.
- 58:50Carmen Lezeth: He just seems like a sweetheart.
- 58:51Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to hear nothing bad about him either.
- 58:53Carmen Lezeth: I don't come to me with no nothing.
- 58:56Carmen Lezeth: I don't want him getting divorced.
- 58:57Carmen Lezeth: I don't hand none about Chris Hemsworth.
- 58:58Carmen Lezeth: He is like we're gonna package him and leave him alone.
- 59:00Carmen Lezeth: Who's James McAvoy?
- 59:02Carmen Lezeth: Should I know who that is?

- 59:14Kelly Quinn: Yeah, and he was in atonement.
- 59:16Kelly Quinn: He's been in a lot of stuff.
- 59:18Rick Costa: Yeah.
- 59:19Carmen Lezeth: So look at, I'm gonna wrap this up.
- 59:21Carmen Lezeth: I just want to say a few things.
- 59:23Carmen Lezeth: Number one I want to wish Our friends, all of our Jewish friends, or anyone who celebrates, I want to say, happy Hanukkah.
- 59:31Carmen Lezeth: I guess happy Hanukkah is probably not the best way to say it right now, with everything that's going on, but I want to wish our Jewish Friends and anyone who celebrates a a wonderful and beautiful holiday season.
- 59:42Carmen Lezeth: Today is the first evening of Hanukkah.
- 59:44Carmen Lezeth: That's number one.
- 59:46Carmen Lezeth: I do want to give love and joy to Norman Lear and you know we talk a lot about allies, you know we we kind of throw that word around, but he actually was somebody who took all these risks at a time back then when you really shouldn't been able to, and I just hope we can all be more like that, taking risks to do the right thing, no matter what you know, to showcase people who are marginalized or Treated badly just for being who they are and exist like um gene Ronberry, do you mean interrupt you?
- 1:00:23Rick Costa: But yes, no.
- 1:00:24Carmen Lezeth: That's.
- 1:00:24Carmen Lezeth: That's a great point, just like gene Ronberry, I mean.
- 1:00:27Carmen Lezeth: So I just wanted to say those things.
- 1:00:29Carmen Lezeth: And then the other thing I'm going to say, which I always say, is Facebook people have been adding on the page rick, I think in the past, like I don't know week.
- 1:00:37Carmen Lezeth: We now have like 80 people.
- 1:00:39Carmen Lezeth: I had like five people on facebook and now we have like 80.

- 1:01:28Carmen Lezeth: Her people gonna call me and be like um.
- 1:01:30Carmen Lezeth: We have changed our number and I'll say no.
- 1:01:34Kelly Quinn: She don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:01:35Kelly Quinn: You know, she knows that's not how I mean.
- 1:01:38Kelly Quinn: I think that's one of the things that I'm grateful for about getting into at this point, because I just I actually want to do it and I feel like I have some type of grounding.
- 1:01:48Carmen Lezeth: No, you have people who support you because we believe in your talent and and you know we're not gonna bullshit you and you know what I mean.
- 1:01:54Carmen Lezeth: Like I think that's the hard part is people.
- 1:01:56Carmen Lezeth: Whatever it is you want to do in your life, you have to get the right people around you to support you, not just anybody, not just everybody.
- 1:02:04Carmen Lezeth: You got to get the right people who're going to tell you the truth and who's gonna say to you we love you, we think this is good, we think this is bad, but we're gonna be here no matter what, and and I and I that's the only kind of people I want in my life.
- 1:02:16Carmen Lezeth: I don't know why rick's here, but he got something.
