- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the porch, the very dark porch.
- 0:33It's early and I am shooting out here today.
- 0:37Birds are just coming up, can hear my neighbors ducks walking
- 0:41around, but my girls are not out yet because of the hurricane we
- 0:46had. Well, it turned out to be a
- 0:48tropical storm strong one by the time it got here.
- 0:51But they're still locked in. And they're they have some.
- 0:57Shades that cover their their doors.
- 0:59Normally they're out to make shades like a covered entrance,
- 1:02but they're locked down right now.
- 1:04So we as soon as the sun is up, we'll go out and we will open
- 1:07those up. But I was not going to mess with
- 1:09it in order to do the podcast early early, so I figured we'll
- 1:13do it from the porch anyway. So today we are talking about
- 1:17the fact that. You know when things, when
- 1:20you're what do you do when your head gets away with you?
- 1:22I had, I was on a call yesterday and I was teaching a group of
- 1:27women. I was invited to come on and
- 1:30talk to them about their mindset and about how your emotions.
- 1:35That are always there with you and how to manage them.
- 1:38And one of the questions that I got was what do you do when your
- 1:43head just gets away with you? And I started to like really
- 1:48hone in on that question because what that person was really
- 1:52saying, if you really listen to the question, was that she felt.
- 1:57Like the core of who she was, the person she was, was not in
- 2:01control, and that her head was a separate entity and running away
- 2:06with her. And you know, we as human beings
- 2:09have lots of little phrases that we organically use that give us
- 2:13these clues that we actually believe that there are separate
- 2:18parts of ourselves. For instance, if someone says Oh
- 2:22my God, something terrible happens, to think, Oh my God,
- 2:24I'm beside myself. Well, how can you be beside
- 2:27yourself? And you know, I I need to have a
- 2:31conversation with myself. Well, who's having the
- 2:34conversation? So to me, the way I've always
- 2:39broken this down for myself is that.
- 2:41And I'll explain it to you exactly the way I explained it
- 2:43to her yesterday. There are parts of ourselves as
- 2:48we we know we have our heart. Our mind and our soul is how
- 2:52human beings will like to describe it sometimes, but we
- 2:56think of ourselves as one entity when we think of ourselves.
- 2:59Myself, my name is Kim, but ultimately we really do believe
- 3:03there are different parts. Like my gut.
- 3:05My gut just says, well, my gut to me is my soul talking to me.
- 3:11That is, to me, it's like when it's in my gut.
- 3:14When it's you know it, it it's intrinsically tied.
- 3:16It's my soul speaking to me. It's the me that's me, not the
- 3:20head. The head is just what's here as
- 3:23as the guide to get me through life that processes information.
- 3:28But that intuitive piece that's inside of me is something
- 3:31different. So.
- 3:34We have to work in unison. We have to bring them all
- 3:37together. And when you start to recognize
- 3:40that the one that's quiet, the one that's steady, the one that
- 3:44doesn't get rocked by emotion, the one that you know doesn't
- 3:49run away with you, my head has run away with me.
- 3:52Now I'm guilty of the head running away.
- 3:54Yesterday is a perfect example. The hurricane is here or turned
- 3:58out to be a tropical storm by the time it got here, but that
- 4:01didn't deaden my panic for what would happen with the girls.
- 4:06Honestly, that's what I think about all the time because.
- 4:09What do I do with them? OK, do I lock keep them locked
- 4:12up all day? Because that's so unhealthy for
- 4:14them to be in all day? And I know it because that whole
- 4:17thing about being cooped up all day, it sucks and they show it.
- 4:20They have stress immediately. And if I let them out, just into
- 4:25the chicken yard, OK, some of them can fly over the fence, but
- 4:30you know, one would think, can you fly over?
- 4:32You could fly back, but would they?
- 4:33And then I would get nervous so my head runs away with me.
- 4:37All of a sudden, panic is driving my bus right next to
- 4:41anxiety and my creativity, which never leaves the front of the
- 4:45bus just makes everything way worse.
- 4:47My imaginations up there thinking, Oh well, what if that
- 4:50tree in the back of the coop, which has nothing wrong with it,
- 4:53by the way, would fall on the coop and crush it?
- 4:56You know, I didn't even think about that.
- 4:58I started going crazy yesterday thinking about it.
- 5:00Normally. I don't even think about that,
- 5:02so. It is imperative that you
- 5:05recognize that because you technically think of yourself in
- 5:10these different ways and you don't realize it on a regular
- 5:13basis, you can do something about it.
- 5:16You can bring your pieces together, but you can only do it
- 5:19if you're conscious of it. You can only do it if you start
- 5:22to say to yourself, you know what, I'm going to center
- 5:25myself, I'm going to pull all the pieces of myself back
- 5:29together. And then?
- 5:31I'm going to make a decision moving forward.
- 5:34I'm going to choose the emotion I want to be in and I'm going to
- 5:36step forward with that in my place.
- 5:39So can't do anything until you recenter yourself.
- 5:43So if that means you have to go wash your hands to contain
- 5:46yourself, just get up and move. If it means that you have to
- 5:50stand up and shake your body out, shake your body out, that
- 5:52works. Just stand and jump a little
- 5:54bit. My trick personally is the hand
- 5:57washing. That really, really works
- 5:59because your nerves and your hands are so sensitive and as
- 6:02soon as you wash your hands with warm water or hot water and
- 6:06soap, it just feels so good to wash off that negative energy.
- 6:11So those are just a couple of little tips.
- 6:14But remember, pull all the parts of yourself back together
- 6:17collectively and realize that they all work in unison.
- 6:21All right, my friends, I hope you have a very blessed day
- 6:24while I go clean up all the mess from this and I will see you all
- 6:29tomorrow. Bye.
