- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:11Speaker 1: Blue Nation. Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is
- 0:15Speaker 1: Michael Bennett on this Friday, October 23rd. Hope everybody's ready
- 0:19Speaker 1: for a big weekend as I'm reading a text from
- 0:24Speaker 1: my youngest son and it just made me laugh. So anyway,
- 0:27Speaker 1: I shouldn't be doing that, right? I need to be
- 0:28Speaker 1: concentrating on radio, but you know me, I get distracted.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I have to read everything. But, uh, Jesse Kalen, I
- 0:35Speaker 1: know you're ready for a big weekend, aren't you? I'm pumped.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Are you really? I'm pumped up.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I mean, it's Friday. I couldn't be more happy than
- 0:41Speaker 2: I am. Got a significant amount of sleep last night.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Not as much as I would have liked, but feeling
- 0:46Speaker 2: pretty good on this Friday morning. I got a golf
- 0:49Speaker 2: scramble that I'm playing in tomorrow, so I'm really excited
- 0:51Speaker 2: about that.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Are you going to miss football? Yeah. Really? I'm going
- 0:57Speaker 1: to miss some football. Oh, wow. Which I'm hoping.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 2: With my Hoosiers up in Michigan, I'm going to record
- 1:05Speaker 2: the game and watch it when I get home, no
- 1:06Speaker 2: doubt about that.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:08Speaker 2: But I'm hoping that I won't have to do that
- 1:10Speaker 2: because it's just going to be such a blowout.
- 1:13Speaker 1: That's my hope. Okay. Well, we'll see if that happens
- 1:16Speaker 1: or not. But may I ask you a question, please?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Of course. I'm an open book. Are you sick of
- 1:24Speaker 1: all these political ads? You know what? I haven't really
- 1:28Speaker 1: ran across many of them. Oh, you haven't? I mean,
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'm getting calls. I'm seeing them on TV. Of course,
- 1:34Speaker 1: they're always negative.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I have been getting a ton of calls, but I
- 1:38Speaker 2: don't know if they've been political or not because I
- 1:40Speaker 2: don't answer.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Oh, you don't? If I don't know the number, I
- 1:43Speaker 1: don't answer. I don't either. But then you see the little,
- 1:47Speaker 1: because you know now with your iPhone, it'll text you
- 1:51Speaker 1: with what the message was. And then you see, oh,
- 1:53Speaker 1: it's a political ad. And nobody has anything nice to
- 1:57Speaker 1: say about each other.
- 1:58Speaker 4: No.
- 1:59Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, is there anybody good? You know,
- 2:01Speaker 1: if I was running for office, I might say the
- 2:03Speaker 1: nicest things about everybody. That's the way. Would that work? Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I mean, that's literally the way to be. You should
- 2:09Speaker 1: go ahead and vote for this person. Vote for Justin,
- 2:13Speaker 1: even though he's running against me. He's a great guy.
- 2:15Speaker 1: He's going to do a phenomenal job. Then would you
- 2:18Speaker 1: turn around and vote for me? Maybe. Maybe. Really?
- 2:22Speaker 2: I can't confirm or deny. I'm not going to tell
- 2:25Speaker 2: you which way I'm voting, Michael Bennett.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Do they really? Oh, come on. We're just chit-chatting here.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's just you and me. But do they really think
- 2:33Speaker 1: all these negative ads are going to motivate people to
- 2:36Speaker 1: go and vote for him? I've never really understood him
- 2:40Speaker 1: at all.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I mean, me personally, I have always been more drawn
- 2:44Speaker 2: to the positive ads that aren't knocking their opponents. So
- 2:48Speaker 2: that's the way I would attack things if I was
- 2:50Speaker 2: ever to run for office, which I personally guarantee you
- 2:53Speaker 2: I won't.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Neither will I.
- 2:54Speaker 2: But, yeah, I mean, I just think a positive mindset
- 2:57Speaker 2: is much better than just dragging somebody down.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It's not realistic to think that if I was running
- 3:03Speaker 1: for office, I'm going to say great things about you.
- 3:05Speaker 1: That's not realistic. But to just not say anything negative
- 3:10Speaker 1: about you, I think would come across better. And I
- 3:13Speaker 1: would only say the positive things about Michael Bennett. And
- 3:16Speaker 1: here's the deal with political apps. Yes.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You want people to know what you stand for and
- 3:22Speaker 2: what you're all about and what you're going to change
- 3:25Speaker 2: and your plans and all that. I've never understood... Why,
- 3:30Speaker 2: instead of making it about yourself, you want to make
- 3:33Speaker 2: it about what your opponent isn't.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Exactly. And liar and bad person. And look what he did.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It's like, oh, my gosh, man. That immediately turns me off,
- 3:45Speaker 1: quite honestly, on both people.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I am much more likely to vote for somebody who's
- 3:50Speaker 2: ran a positive campaign.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Correct. And that's all I want. I wish they would
- 3:54Speaker 1: take a lesson because I'm so sick and tired of hearing,
- 3:57Speaker 1: he's a liar, he's a communist. It's just like, no,
- 4:00Speaker 1: they're not. They're just doing what they believe in and
- 4:03Speaker 1: what they think is best. Stop saying it. And it goes,
- 4:06Speaker 1: don't take me as I'm saying it for one particular side.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'm saying it for both sides. I just wish they'd
- 4:12Speaker 1: come out positive.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Well, luckily for me, I haven't seen many of those commercials.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And we don't talk politics on this show. We've got
- 4:18Speaker 2: a crazy weekend of Kentucky athletics. I'm excited to break
- 4:21Speaker 2: all that down. Yeah, I don't really... Maybe I have
- 4:25Speaker 2: seen them, but I just don't pay attention. I've seen
- 4:27Speaker 2: a ton of yard signs, I'll tell you that.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Oh, they're everywhere. But those don't bother me. I'm not
- 4:32Speaker 1: talking politics. I'm just suggesting come out with something positive. Yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. All right, I can get behind that. No,
- 4:39Speaker 1: we got a lot, a lot going on this weekend. Yes,
- 4:42Speaker 1: and I'm looking.
- 4:43Speaker 2: We actually got a text at the end of my
- 4:45Speaker 2: show that I want to read real quick.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Oh, you do?
- 4:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It's from Jimmy Ref, and he said... Michael and Scoots,
- 4:50Speaker 2: thanks for sticking to sports. If you want to discuss politics, caller,
- 4:53Speaker 2: move to another station.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's very true. Thanks, Jim. And it'll always be
- 4:59Speaker 1: that way on this show. I have no interest. And
- 5:02Speaker 1: I think people want a break. They don't want to
- 5:05Speaker 1: hear a sports show talking about politics. No. Nobody cares,
- 5:09Speaker 1: unless you like that political side. And then, of course,
- 5:12Speaker 1: you're enjoying it. But you know what? For all those others,
- 5:14Speaker 1: that's the reason I stopped watching late-night television. It got
- 5:18Speaker 1: so political. It's like, I just don't want to watch this.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So it's just too hard. I don't watch late-night TV
- 5:27Speaker 1: because I'm in bed. Well, I am at this point now. But, no,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I used to watch it religiously. I was a big
- 5:33Speaker 1: fan as a kid of Johnny Carson. I became a
- 5:36Speaker 1: big fan of David Letterman. Then you know who I
- 5:38Speaker 1: became a big fan after that? Conan O'Brien. And they
- 5:41Speaker 1: just got so, David Letterman got political. Conan to a degree,
- 5:47Speaker 1: but everybody that's on now today is just way over
- 5:51Speaker 1: the top. I'm trying to think whoever took over for
- 5:56Speaker 1: Stephen Colbert. It's just like, who took over for David Letterman.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It's just like, can we just, bringing up jokes, and
- 6:03Speaker 1: that's it, that have nothing to do with politics. So
- 6:07Speaker 1: it just leaned way too far one way. So, yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: if you want to go to listen to a sports show,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I shouldn't say that. He's a nice guy. I really
- 6:15Speaker 1: like– I very much like that guy that does that. So, anyway,
- 6:18Speaker 1: how's that? So much so you're going to say his name.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Matt is a good guy. I'm not going to sit
- 6:28Speaker 1: here and make fun of him. He's a good guy.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I just wish he wouldn't talk politics. It's a great... Listen,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I can't criticize Matt Jones. He has had a successful
- 6:38Speaker 1: show here in Kentucky. Now he's on nationally. Congratulations. I'm
- 6:42Speaker 1: envious of him. I'd be lying if I didn't say,
- 6:46Speaker 1: who cares? No, he's done a great job. So he's
- 6:49Speaker 1: the number one UK show. I'll never deny that. And
- 6:52Speaker 1: he does a great job. So, uh, and every now
- 6:55Speaker 1: and then I listen to it. Billy talks politics. So
- 7:00Speaker 1: it's like, come on, man. Let's just talk about fun stuff.
- 7:03Speaker 1: But I love the other guys that are on there
- 7:05Speaker 1: with them. Well, you know that I'm having lunch with
- 7:07Speaker 1: one of them next, uh, Next week, he called me
- 7:09Speaker 1: up and invited me to go to lunch with him. So, anyway,
- 7:12Speaker 1: let's talk about UK football before you get me in trouble. See,
- 7:16Speaker 1: I think you egged me on. Oh, I definitely did. Yeah, okay.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Thank you for finally admitting it because there's two people
- 7:23Speaker 1: that you definitely egged me on with. Oh, there's more
- 7:26Speaker 1: than two people. Oh, there is? Okay. All right, because
- 7:29Speaker 1: I know you do with Matt. I know you do
- 7:31Speaker 1: with Alan Cutler because you always call him AC. Taylor Swift. Oh,
- 7:35Speaker 1: I haven't thought about that. I was thinking more on
- 7:37Speaker 1: the local side. Oh, I'm thinking just in general. There's
- 7:39Speaker 1: a lot of things to tag you on with.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Notre Dame. Notre Dame. Clemson. I'm trying to think else.
- 7:46Speaker 1: What else triggers me?
- 7:47Speaker 2: It's funny because I was talking to the intern on
- 7:50Speaker 2: Tuesday about how there's three things that get under your
- 7:54Speaker 2: skin every single time.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Did you really?
- 7:57Speaker 2: And it was, I cannot remember the third one. It
- 8:00Speaker 2: was Taylor Swift. It was Notre Dame.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Yes. Yes. I'll think of it for you. That makes
- 8:05Speaker 1: me really laugh. I love that you did it. Well,
- 8:08Speaker 1: I was thinking about Quinn when I walked in here,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Quinn does a great job for sure. I know he
- 8:13Speaker 1: wants to do play by play, but man, I tell
- 8:15Speaker 1: you what, he'd be really good at radio.
- 8:18Speaker 2: No, I mean, that's what he's learning is when you're
- 8:20Speaker 2: in this, in this media realm, you've got to do
- 8:23Speaker 2: whatever you can to make some money. So maybe he
- 8:25Speaker 2: finds his way.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll see. We'll see. But, uh, it's,
- 8:28Speaker 1: it's a lot of fun when he's here. I, I
- 8:30Speaker 1: certainly enjoy it, but, uh, Yeah, you think of that
- 8:33Speaker 1: other third one that triggers me.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I'm so mad that I can't think of it now.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I'm really surprised that you can't either. You don't know?
- 8:40Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes? No.
- 8:42Speaker 3: No.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Duke? Uh, no.
- 8:46Speaker 2: That would be another one. I don't think it was Duke,
- 8:49Speaker 2: although that sounds more familiar.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't Pat Kelsey because that, I mean, his
- 8:53Speaker 1: glasses trigger me, but that's kind of it. And anytime
- 8:57Speaker 1: he talks in third person, that always makes me laugh.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It's like, okay. Uh, but, uh, this is Pat Kelsey.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I mean, that was just like, that was comical. That'll
- 9:05Speaker 1: never die by the way. I loved that quote.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yeah. But, uh, all right, let's talk about UK football.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Cause they have a big game tomorrow. You can say
- 9:14Speaker 1: what you want. I know it's Vanderbilt. It's a big game.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Every game from now, uh, till the end of the
- 9:20Speaker 1: season is going to be the number one game. Yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I mean, not to mention it's a rivalry too, right? Vanderbilt.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Wouldn't you consider Vanderbilt a rivalry? It's becoming that way because,
- 9:29Speaker 2: you know, I'm coming that way. Well, I don't think
- 9:32Speaker 2: it is already. No, I really don't.
- 9:37Speaker 1: But it should be a heated match because of the
- 9:40Speaker 1: fact that UK's one in four, one in one in four,
- 9:44Speaker 1: aren't they? The last five years. So you look at
- 9:49Speaker 1: that in one in four. That's not a rivalry. That's
- 9:52Speaker 1: Vanderbilt dominating your team. Oh, I forgot your definition of rivalry. Yeah, absolutely.
- 10:00Speaker 2: That's not a rival at all. If we throw out
- 10:02Speaker 2: the records is Vanderbilt, Kentucky arrival.
- 10:04Speaker 1: No, it really isn't. I mean, I I've always considered
- 10:08Speaker 1: Tennessee number one, despite the proximity, despite the proximity for
- 10:15Speaker 1: Vanderbilt or for UofL.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I mean, to UK Vanderbilt and UK, like they're, What,
- 10:19Speaker 2: separated by two hours?
- 10:21Speaker 1: No, no, it's further than that. Two and a half?
- 10:23Speaker 1: It's a four-hour drive from Lexington to Nashville. It's only
- 10:27Speaker 1: three from here. I know, but... How's that possible? What
- 10:31Speaker 1: do you want me to say? Okay, now I got
- 10:33Speaker 1: to look it up just to prove to you how
- 10:36Speaker 1: long it takes to get to Nashville, Tennessee. I can't
- 10:39Speaker 1: believe we're arguing about this. I just consider Vanderbilt a
- 10:43Speaker 1: rival of UK. Okay, well... Always have. Have you really?
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Okay, well, it's... Okay, three hours, ten minutes is what
- 10:51Speaker 1: it says. From here or Lexington? Well, there it says
- 10:53Speaker 1: four hours. Oh, no, no. From Lexington to Nashville, it's
- 10:57Speaker 1: three hours and ten minutes. Okay, so about the same.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And then it's closer to Knoxville. Lexington is a lot
- 11:05Speaker 1: closer to Knoxville than Lexington is to Nashville. Wouldn't have
- 11:09Speaker 1: guessed that. Really? No. It's just straight. Knoxville's just straight
- 11:13Speaker 1: down I-75. It's directly south.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Honestly, this is probably a me problem because I'm not
- 11:17Speaker 2: the best with geography, especially of our area.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's a me problem. I didn't know you would have
- 11:25Speaker 1: a problem with geography. No, I've never been the best
- 11:27Speaker 1: at geography. Okay, so. Neither of you. You call Kentucky
- 11:30Speaker 1: the South. It is the South, you jerk. Don't start
- 11:34Speaker 1: that with me again. You're really going to get me. See,
- 11:37Speaker 1: that's got to be the third one right there, isn't it?
- 11:40Speaker 1: That's the third one. It's not. Okay, thank goodness. Jeez. Louisville,
- 11:46Speaker 1: Kentucky is the South. Two hours and 37 minutes from
- 11:49Speaker 1: Lexington to Knoxville. Huh. So there you go.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 1: All right. Well, maybe I'm wrong.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Let me know on the Whiskey Thief text line. Is
- 11:59Speaker 2: Vanderbilt a rival?
- 12:00Speaker 1: I see. I don't think so. And I think if
- 12:03Speaker 1: you took a poll, people would say, no, they're not
- 12:05Speaker 1: a rival. But they are this weekend because two in
- 12:09Speaker 1: my family went to Vanderbilt. Not going to deal with that.
- 12:12Speaker 1: But I think they're a little nervous. My oldest son
- 12:16Speaker 1: has not been saying much about this game. Ain't much
- 12:20Speaker 1: to say. Yeah. After the season that Vanderbilt's had.
- 12:25Speaker 4: So.
- 12:26Speaker 1: What, Vanderbilt's 3-4 so far right now, and they're 0-4
- 12:34Speaker 1: within the conference. So that's not very good from that standpoint.
- 12:40Speaker 1: UK 6-1, as we all know. They've lost within the SEC.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Vanderbilt's lost to Auburn by six points. Georgia by a bunch, 14-38.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Ole Miss by even worse. That was probably the worst
- 12:53Speaker 1: game right there. 52-17, and then Arkansas, they lost to
- 12:57Speaker 1: them by 10, and they were in the game with Arkansas.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And I consider Arkansas one of the worst teams in
- 13:02Speaker 1: the SEC. Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Getting ready to say you should be in the game
- 13:06Speaker 1: with Arkansas. Yeah, without a doubt. So I think the
- 13:10Speaker 1: biggest storyline with Vanderbilt this season is the loss of
- 13:17Speaker 1: Diego and what that has meant to that football team.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And I think it's meant a lot more than they
- 13:22Speaker 1: really anticipated. I didn't think you'd have anything to say
- 13:27Speaker 1: about that. I mean, come on. You got to be realistic.
- 13:32Speaker 1: You don't have to be happy about it. You don't
- 13:35Speaker 1: have to be elated about, oh, Diego Pavia. But you
- 13:39Speaker 1: have to admit, he was that team last year. I guess. Oh,
- 13:46Speaker 1: my gosh.
- 13:48Speaker 2: That's not something I want to admit, Michael. You know
- 13:50Speaker 2: how I feel about Diego.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I hate that dweeb. I'll admit that UofL looks pretty
- 13:55Speaker 1: good in basketball. I'll admit that Duke, and this is
- 13:58Speaker 1: probably the part that hurts the most, might be the
- 14:02Speaker 1: number one team in the country. It's not going to
- 14:04Speaker 1: be Florida. And Duke is to the point where they
- 14:07Speaker 1: scare me now. But I want to get sidetracked. So
- 14:09Speaker 1: you've got to admit that life after Diego at Vanderbilt
- 14:14Speaker 1: has been completely different, and Vanderbilt's success was due to
- 14:18Speaker 1: Diego last year.
- 14:19Speaker 2: But Diego was also much older than Jared Curtis is.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I mean, they're starting as freshman quarterbacks.
- 14:26Speaker 1: You're right.
- 14:26Speaker 2: If we're having this discussion two years from now, We're
- 14:29Speaker 2: going to be talking about Jared Curtis being way better
- 14:32Speaker 2: than– we're.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Going to be like, Diego who? If he stays healthy.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And if he stays at Vanderbilt. And I think that's
- 14:39Speaker 1: even bigger right there because if you hadn't heard about
- 14:41Speaker 1: Jared Curtis, he's the five-star freshman, true freshman from Dixon, Tennessee,
- 14:46Speaker 1: which is really a suburb. It's kind of like Shelbyville
- 14:50Speaker 1: to Louisville. That's what Dixon is to Nashville, Tennessee. I've
- 14:54Speaker 1: got cousins that live in Dixon. But– Best game he's
- 14:59Speaker 1: had was against North Carolina State. And you can see glimpses.
- 15:03Speaker 2: God, they should have lost that game. That's another loss
- 15:07Speaker 2: they should have. North Carolina State?
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, probably so.
- 15:10Speaker 2: If NC State just didn't do the dumbest thing of
- 15:12Speaker 2: all time.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Which was? You don't remember how that game ended? Oh,
- 15:16Speaker 1: that's right.
- 15:17Speaker 2: I forgot that. The fumble. All he had to do
- 15:19Speaker 2: was run out of the back of the end zone.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And he fumbles in the end zone and Vanderbilt wins
- 15:24Speaker 1: that game. I do remember that now completely. The dumbest
- 15:27Speaker 1: end to a game ever. Yeah, it really was. So
- 15:29Speaker 1: you're right. I mean, that's been the key to Vanderbilt
- 15:32Speaker 1: is their own mistakes. They've had a bunch of turnovers.
- 15:37Speaker 1: The quarterback, Jared Curtis, has had a lot of interceptions.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I mean, he had four in one game. And I
- 15:45Speaker 1: think that was against Ole Miss. But it's just been
- 15:48Speaker 1: one of those situations where it's like, okay, what are
- 15:50Speaker 1: you doing? Well, oh, he's a freshman. That's what it is. Well,
- 15:52Speaker 1: and that's a major advantage for Kentucky. It is.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I mean, we've seen them take advantage of the turnover
- 15:57Speaker 2: battle the last, what, three, four weeks?
- 15:59Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:59Speaker 2: And if that's the case again tomorrow, I don't think
- 16:02Speaker 2: this game's going to be close.
- 16:03Speaker 1: See, I don't think so either because Vanderbilt has really
- 16:06Speaker 1: struggled with one thing, and that's inconsistency. And when you're inconsistent,
- 16:10Speaker 1: you're not a very good football team. Now, they do
- 16:13Speaker 1: have a really good wide receiver out of Junior Sherrill.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I mean, he's obviously their best weapon. I mean, he's
- 16:22Speaker 1: got 41 catch and 628 yards of receiving and four
- 16:26Speaker 1: touchdowns a season. I mean, he's ranked the 11th nationally.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And that's pretty stinking good. They don't have the tight
- 16:34Speaker 1: end still, right? No, he's gone. He's playing in the
- 16:36Speaker 1: NFL now. But this guy, you'll remember Junior Sherrill because
- 16:40Speaker 1: he had eight catches last year against UK. And 115 yards.
- 16:46Speaker 1: So he was right. They do have a pretty good
- 16:50Speaker 1: safety and a pretty good defensive back. CJ Hurd's the
- 16:52Speaker 1: safety and Mason Lewis is the defensive back. Now, I
- 16:57Speaker 1: think what else, the other thing that they have going
- 16:59Speaker 1: for them, you might not disagree or you might not agree,
- 17:02Speaker 1: but I'm going to say it. I really like Clark Lee.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I think he is. Will Stein and Clark Lee are
- 17:12Speaker 1: kind of similar to each other because Clark Lee brings
- 17:14Speaker 1: that energy. Clark Lee doesn't have half the set that
- 17:17Speaker 1: Will Stein. I don't think so either. But he is
- 17:21Speaker 1: an energizing little bunny out there, and he motivated that
- 17:25Speaker 1: team last year to do really well. Now, can he
- 17:28Speaker 1: do it this year? Because he made the comment this
- 17:31Speaker 1: week that he thinks if Vanderbilt plays a clean game,
- 17:36Speaker 1: he firmly believes Vanderbilt can win. Now, what else is
- 17:40Speaker 1: he supposed to say? I wouldn't disagree with that. They're
- 17:41Speaker 1: not going to play a clean game, though, is the problem. Yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 1: that's going to be the issue, and it's going to
- 17:45Speaker 1: be turnovers. And, of course, UK has been really good
- 17:49Speaker 1: about that, so... We got to take a break.
- 17:52Speaker 4: 502-384-1450.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You want to call in 502-414-1450. You want to text
- 17:57Speaker 1: in on the Whiskey Thief text line. But we're going
- 17:59Speaker 1: to talk about this game the first hour. And second hour,
- 18:03Speaker 1: we're going to talk about the basketball game, okay? Because
- 18:05Speaker 1: it's a really good exhibition game. Then, of course, there
- 18:07Speaker 1: was an exhibition game last night that we'll talk about
- 18:10Speaker 1: a little later on. I don't know if you saw
- 18:12Speaker 1: this or not, Justin. Nope. It got heated on the court.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Oh.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Oh, it did. Was it Bam Auburn? It might have been,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and it might have been involving one of your favorite players, too. Oh,
- 18:24Speaker 1: here we go. Exactly. So we'll talk about that as well.
- 18:28Speaker 1: We'll get to your text as soon as we get back.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Stay right there. We got a long way to go
- 18:32Speaker 1: of just the cats, and I hope you text in.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I want to hear from you. See you.
- 18:41Speaker 3: All I really need is a little good news.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Try to knock me off my feet, still standing with
- 19:05Speaker 4: more money than I came with. Hot damn, took a loss,
- 19:08Speaker 4: but I'm still a gambling man, betting all the chips
- 19:11Speaker 4: that I got left. Didn't talk to the law, it's
- 19:15Speaker 4: a damn good place, spent another.
- 19:18Speaker 1: 40K on my wrist, hot damn. Hell nah, I.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Don't need another shot, cause I'm already feeling this shit.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I like this guy. I'm just going to tell you,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I haven't heard any of these songs before. You've only
- 19:41Speaker 1: heard the bass. I have, I know. You're very shabuzy vanilla. Well,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and I got a good shabuzy chocolate, so I'll tell
- 19:48Speaker 1: you what. What do you want me to say? That
- 19:51Speaker 1: was good. I like it. But, yeah, he's really good.
- 19:57Speaker 1: He is good. Of course, I like that one song
- 19:59Speaker 1: I sent you this morning. I forget what the name
- 20:02Speaker 1: of it is, but you'll play it in a little bit. Yep.
- 20:04Speaker 1: And cause you hear it everywhere at the football stadiums now.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah. And every time I hear it, it's like,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I want to hear it again. It's a good song.
- 20:10Speaker 1: It is a good song. It's really good. The one I'm,
- 20:13Speaker 1: you know, they always have these typical songs that they
- 20:16Speaker 1: play and every stadium plays it. And I do get
- 20:20Speaker 1: tired of some of them. Cause the one I got
- 20:23Speaker 1: tired of was the trumpet one. That right there. It's
- 20:28Speaker 1: like everybody was playing. It's like, can't we play something
- 20:31Speaker 1: original now? That one gets me excited. Oh, it does?
- 20:34Speaker 1: I like that one. The first time I heard that
- 20:36Speaker 1: one was at a Vanderbilt. It was a Vanderbilt UK
- 20:38Speaker 1: game down in Nashville. It's like, what are we listening to?
- 20:42Speaker 1: And all the student body at Vanderbilt, you know, all
- 20:45Speaker 1: 30 of them that were at the game, were going
- 20:47Speaker 1: nuts over this song. I'm teasing. Oh boy. I better
- 20:50Speaker 1: watch out. I don't know if Max or Patricia is listening.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I got to watch out what I say about Bane.
- 20:54Speaker 1: They don't listen. Well, that is true. But every now
- 20:56Speaker 1: and then they surprise me. So, and so I, it's like,
- 21:02Speaker 1: what are we playing? And why are these kids excited
- 21:04Speaker 1: about this trumpet playing? It's just the most, what's it called?
- 21:08Speaker 1: That's a great question. I don't know. Tommy trumpet. Tommy trumpet. Yeah. Seriously.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Okay. That's, Talk about vanilla. Or Timmy Trumpets. Okay, well,
- 21:19Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. It's tea something. So, yep, my wife's listening.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Just kidding. One person texted in, Scoots is so locked
- 21:29Speaker 1: into football that he's going to scramble during the IU game.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Can't make this stuff up. What do you want me
- 21:36Speaker 2: to do, buddy? Put my whole life on hold because
- 21:38Speaker 2: sports are on? I love that he ended it up
- 21:41Speaker 2: with can't make this stuff up. I'll catch up when
- 21:44Speaker 2: I get home, but I can't stop my life just
- 21:46Speaker 2: for sports.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Come on, man. Yeah, but a true fan would be like,
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'm sorry I can't play in that scramble. I use playing.
- 21:55Speaker 1: A true fan would not be missing the live game.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Golf is maybe the one thing that I enjoy more
- 22:01Speaker 2: than sports.
- 22:02Speaker 1: More than watching golf. Oh, my gosh. I think sometimes
- 22:05Speaker 1: this guy triggers you. Oh, he does. But, yeah. He
- 22:08Speaker 1: knows it. Can't make this stuff up. I mean, that
- 22:11Speaker 1: is just awesome. I love every second of that. The
- 22:15Speaker 1: great weird owl.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yankovic? What was his last name? He didn't put it.
- 22:23Speaker 1: The great weird Al was once asked a political question.
- 22:26Speaker 1: He said that he would never answer that kind of
- 22:29Speaker 1: question because it would instantly alienate half of his adoring fans.
- 22:33Speaker 1: So thanks for being about sports. See, Johnny Carson used
- 22:38Speaker 1: to say that. I remember an interview that's played every
- 22:43Speaker 1: now and then on social media. It's Elvis Presley, somebody
- 22:46Speaker 1: asking him political questions. And he answered it by saying, yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 1: that's really my own personal belief. And I'm not going
- 22:56Speaker 1: to answer your question. And she tried to push him
- 22:59Speaker 1: even more. No, I'm not going to answer your question.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And I love the fact that he didn't. And this
- 23:06Speaker 1: texture is right. I didn't realize Weird Al said it,
- 23:08Speaker 1: but Johnny Carson said it for many years. Why do
- 23:11Speaker 1: I want to get out there and make fun of
- 23:14Speaker 1: one side? Because I'm going to alienate the other side
- 23:16Speaker 1: and I'm going to lose half my audience. It's true.
- 23:19Speaker 1: So I was just like, that's, here's the reason I
- 23:22Speaker 1: do it. Because I feel like people want to break
- 23:25Speaker 1: from politics. We are so force fed this. constantly on
- 23:30Speaker 1: whatever station you turn on. I mean, there's a show
- 23:34Speaker 1: with a bunch of women. I don't know what it's called.
- 23:37Speaker 1: And all they talk about in the morning is politics.
- 23:39Speaker 1: They make fun of the president. They make fun of it.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Sometimes it's deserved, but sometimes it's like it just gets old.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Do you have anything originally you can talk about other
- 23:48Speaker 1: than politics? I don't want to hear it. I don't watch.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I think I've told you before. I used to watch
- 23:54Speaker 1: Fox constantly, and I'm like, I'd get mad. It's like,
- 23:57Speaker 1: why am I doing this? Why stop watching Fox? I
- 23:59Speaker 1: don't watch CNN. I don't watch MSNBC. I don't watch
- 24:02Speaker 1: any of them. I barely watch the local news. Because
- 24:06Speaker 1: every time I turn the local news on, shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting.
- 24:09Speaker 1: It's sad, yeah. It really is. And it's like, why
- 24:13Speaker 1: do I want to listen to this and become sad
- 24:15Speaker 1: all the time? I just... I don't know if they'll
- 24:18Speaker 1: ever fix it in Louisville, Kentucky. I hope they do.
- 24:21Speaker 1: But you've got to stop shooting people. Stop shooting each other. That's...
- 24:25Speaker 1: I mean, just... Figure another way to solve your grievances.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Don't shoot people. But that part really irritates me. That's
- 24:33Speaker 1: good advice, Michael Bannon. Don't shoot people. Don't shoot people.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I mean, that would be my political stance right there. Okay?
- 24:41Speaker 1: Don't shoot me. You'd have my vote. Well, good. I'm glad.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I think that would be the only vote I'd get.
- 24:47Speaker 1: My family wouldn't even vote for me, okay? And that
- 24:49Speaker 1: includes my sister and brother-in-law. My brother-in-law would probably run
- 24:52Speaker 1: against me. I love my brother-in-law. One person, John texted in, hey,
- 24:58Speaker 1: Michael and Justin, rejoice. This is the day the Lord
- 25:01Speaker 1: has made. That's right. I love that song, by the way.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I just forgot it. This is the day that the
- 25:09Speaker 1: Lord has made. This is the day. This is the
- 25:12Speaker 1: day that the Lord has made. Okay, stop. They don't
- 25:14Speaker 1: want to hear. They probably don't want to hear religion either. Okay,
- 25:17Speaker 1: so I'll stop that too. But I'm trying to be
- 25:20Speaker 1: happier today, and I hope you all have a great day. Hey,
- 25:23Speaker 1: I hope our basketball and football cats win by 90.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I'm right there with you, John. I'm hoping they win
- 25:30Speaker 1: by 90 as well. You just talk about you being
- 25:32Speaker 1: jacked up. I'm so hyper right now, and it's weird.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I don't know why, because I know people get motivated
- 25:39Speaker 1: by drinking coffee because of the caffeine. All I've had
- 25:42Speaker 1: to drink is water today, and I get so hyped
- 25:44Speaker 1: up as well. I don't, it's just my chemistry build.
- 25:47Speaker 2: So by the way, can you imagine what will actually
- 25:51Speaker 2: happen if the cats ever do win a game by 90?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 25:57Speaker 2: People will lose their mind. That would be funny. And
- 26:01Speaker 2: then what's the new phrase going to be?
- 26:02Speaker 1: Six, seven. I mean, please don't start winning by a thousand.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I don't know. Because it's going to happen. They'll win
- 26:09Speaker 1: by nine. You think so? Maybe not in our life.
- 26:12Speaker 1: That wouldn't be a fun game to watch. Are you
- 26:14Speaker 1: kidding me? You really think watching a team beat and
- 26:18Speaker 1: I would get to the point where I would feel
- 26:20Speaker 1: sorry for the other team. No, you would not.
- 26:23Speaker 4: No.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Oh, I do. I have a little sympathy.
- 26:26Speaker 2: When Indiana beat Purdue, what, like 66-3 or whatever last year? Oh,
- 26:30Speaker 2: I couldn't have loved it anymore.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Really? I loved it. You don't feel sorry for some
- 26:35Speaker 1: of those Purdue fans that are out there? Little five-year-old
- 26:39Speaker 1: kids crying because his favorite team got beat by you
- 26:42Speaker 1: by that much? Absolutely not. Okay.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Because that same little kid was probably there three weeks
- 26:47Speaker 2: ago when they were playing Minnesota, and he was chanting,
- 26:49Speaker 2: IU sucks.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So, screw that little kid. My gosh! Listen to you.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I hate Purdue. Wow. That's strong, Justin. No, I hate Purdue. Okay.
- 27:00Speaker 1: You really need to stop that.
- 27:02Speaker 2: That takes too much energy, and it's useless energy. No,
- 27:05Speaker 2: it's not taking any energy, actually, because it's just natural
- 27:08Speaker 2: at this point. One person texted, and playing golf is
- 27:12Speaker 2: acceptable to miss a game.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Weddings aren't. You can watch the game at the wedding.
- 27:18Speaker 2: And I'll watch the game probably when we're golfing.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Really? So you think it's okay to go play golf,
- 27:24Speaker 1: but it's not okay to go to a wedding?
- 27:28Speaker 2: I mean, that's not an acceptable reason to miss your
- 27:30Speaker 2: sports game. Nope.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Wedding? Nope. Wow. I'm kind of with you. But what
- 27:38Speaker 1: are acceptable things to miss a game to go do
- 27:41Speaker 1: besides golf? Is there anything else out there? Funeral? I mean,
- 27:47Speaker 1: the person couldn't help it. Way to bring it down. Literally. Well,
- 27:55Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. I'm just trying to think of
- 27:57Speaker 1: other things that would be acceptable. You think a family
- 28:00Speaker 1: that is grieving should say, well, you know what? Kentucky's on.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Kentucky's on. We better not schedule the funeral at this time.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I mean, you got to plan around certain things. Okay,
- 28:10Speaker 1: so you got to plan around your own death is
- 28:12Speaker 1: what you're saying. I hope to goodness I do not
- 28:14Speaker 1: die during a UK football game, which I felt like
- 28:18Speaker 1: I was going to die during some, or a basketball game,
- 28:21Speaker 1: which I've definitely died during some of those. part of
- 28:24Speaker 1: my heart did. I can tell you that I can
- 28:26Speaker 1: go through the games where my heart was just dead.
- 28:30Speaker 1: And number one on that list is Duke 1992.
- 28:33Speaker 6: The late nurse shot.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. That is it. My heart died that night. Uh,
- 28:40Speaker 1: I'm trying to think, uh, what that means.
- 28:42Speaker 2: It's died a million times since Wisconsin on ESPN, Wisconsin.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Oh, exactly. Wisconsin in the final four. Uh, I don't think,
- 28:52Speaker 1: because I look back at that 1986 UofL overtime loss
- 28:59Speaker 1: down in Knoxville. I mean, I remember everything. Stokely Fieldhouse
- 29:03Speaker 1: or whatever they called it down there after the vegetable.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I remember everything. Yeah. Stokely Fieldhouse or whatever they called
- 29:10Speaker 1: it down there. Oh, stop. Stop it.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Okay.
- 29:11Speaker 1: You're going to make fun of me today, clearly. Governor
- 29:16Speaker 1: Brown was there, John Y. Brown. He sat close to me. Wow. But, yeah,
- 29:21Speaker 1: I remember that. But that wasn't really a heartbreaking loss.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I mean, it was a loss, but it wasn't like
- 29:28Speaker 1: the Duke loss. I remember in 1970, good gosh, I'm
- 29:33Speaker 1: really going to age myself. I was a kid. 1976,
- 29:35Speaker 1: I think it was, UK lost at the University of Maryland.
- 29:40Speaker 1: to North Carolina. Dean Smith. Yeah. How do you like
- 29:45Speaker 1: that one? That was way before you were born. I
- 29:47Speaker 1: think I was like nine. I was negative 13. Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I was eight or nine. And I distinctly remember that loss.
- 29:54Speaker 1: But yeah, I do. Okay. Arizona. Yeah. I remember driving
- 29:58Speaker 1: back from... Uh, Indianapolis in 1997, Rick Patino's last game
- 30:03Speaker 1: with UK, all the cars lined up behind us, driving
- 30:06Speaker 1: down I-65 that Arizona lost in the championship. A little
- 30:11Speaker 1: bit of my heart was broken. I mean, there, there
- 30:13Speaker 1: are a bunch out there that is like, oh my gosh, man. But, uh,
- 30:17Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know if there are any other
- 30:20Speaker 1: ones out there that I think I lost it, but, um, oh, LSU. Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Bluegrass miracle. Yeah. Florida. Florida. Yeah, in football. We should
- 30:32Speaker 1: have beaten Steve Spurrier years ago. Why are we talking negative? DeBoer. Yeah, okay,
- 30:38Speaker 1: all right, I'll stop. I'm just, because you brought up this,
- 30:41Speaker 1: how much you. We're going into a big weekend. All right.
- 30:43Speaker 1: We want to talk about the most heartbreaking losses. Come on.
- 30:46Speaker 1: This is another here. Listen to this. The handrails that
- 30:49Speaker 1: Vandy missed Diego Pavia's mom grinding on them. Yes, you know,
- 30:55Speaker 1: that was the UK game last year at Vanderbilt where
- 30:57Speaker 1: she was dancing up there in the stands. Oh, I remember.
- 31:00Speaker 1: You fell in love. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I remember. I
- 31:03Speaker 1: do remember that as well. And you can't tell me
- 31:07Speaker 1: you didn't enjoy or partake in watching this elderly lady
- 31:13Speaker 1: up there. Maybe more than once. Really? Yeah. Okay. All right.
- 31:17Speaker 1: That's kind of creepy. We didn't need to go that far.
- 31:20Speaker 1: All right. What's going to go wrong for Vanderbilt? Everything.
- 31:26Speaker 1: You think so? Yeah. I think it's going to be,
- 31:27Speaker 1: number one, turnovers. Yeah. Vanderbilt's giveaways have been costly. I mean,
- 31:34Speaker 1: including in the loss to Arkansas, Curtis threw two interceptions
- 31:39Speaker 1: in that game, and his seven interception on the seasons
- 31:42Speaker 1: are a major concern. Okay, that's number one. Number two,
- 31:45Speaker 1: defensive consistency. The Commodores surrendered 38 points to Georgia and
- 31:50Speaker 1: 52 to Ole Miss. I think that's a big deal. So,
- 31:55Speaker 1: I mean, they need to improve, which I hope they don't,
- 31:59Speaker 1: their ability to get off the field against quality offenses.
- 32:02Speaker 1: And I think that's going to be a problem. I
- 32:05Speaker 1: think defense for UK doesn't have to step up. I
- 32:08Speaker 1: think the offense does. I think if, but if UK
- 32:14Speaker 1: does their normal thing of protecting the ball, and the
- 32:17Speaker 1: defense does their normal thing and takes the ball away
- 32:19Speaker 1: from Vanderbilt, it should be a fairly easy win, Justin.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I could not agree more.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 1: And I'm not worried.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Granted, I'm not a Kentucky fan, so maybe it's not
- 32:30Speaker 2: fair for me to say this, but I'm not worried
- 32:32Speaker 2: about this game at all.
- 32:33Speaker 1: You're not, really? Not at all. Yeah, I don't know.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Part of me is, just because we've lost four out
- 32:41Speaker 1: of the last five times, that part bothers me. And
- 32:47Speaker 1: I'll feel better once halftime comes around and we're up
- 32:49Speaker 1: by a couple of touchdowns. But I'll still be nervous.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Can Kentucky defense create Curtis to throw turnovers or have turnovers? Absolutely. Yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I mean, that's been their calling card for, like I said, three,
- 33:04Speaker 1: four weeks. Well, the other part is, can Kentucky's defense
- 33:07Speaker 1: contain Cheryl? Junior Cheryl, the wide receiver that did so
- 33:10Speaker 1: well last year.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Yes.
- 33:11Speaker 1: All right. Can Vanderbilt stop Kentucky's outfits? I think that's,
- 33:15Speaker 1: I think that's the biggest question. That's their best hope. Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 2: But with the, with the way that Minchie has been
- 33:23Speaker 2: operating this year and taking care of the football, if
- 33:26Speaker 2: he does that again, then no, they can't.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Well, the Commodores have struggled against high powered sec opponents
- 33:32Speaker 1: this year, so they'll need to do a much better
- 33:34Speaker 1: job defensively. And especially on the road, that that's the
- 33:39Speaker 1: best part is that This game is in Lexington. That
- 33:43Speaker 1: part makes me feel good. The other part makes me
- 33:44Speaker 1: feel good. This game sold out. So I think that
- 33:48Speaker 1: the crowd will get really loud. For a while. Yeah.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I mean, do you think Vanderbilt's 10-win season last year
- 33:56Speaker 1: is sustainable? You think they'll be able to do it
- 34:00Speaker 1: again without Pavia? I do. You do? At some point.
- 34:03Speaker 1: You think with Curtis, Jared Curtis, that guy? I mean,
- 34:07Speaker 1: how much are they going to have to pay to
- 34:08Speaker 1: keep him for next year? I think it's a lot
- 34:10Speaker 1: of money. Well, I mean, they already had to probably
- 34:12Speaker 1: pay him a ton to get him from Georgia. You're right.
- 34:14Speaker 1: So surely that's all already worked out.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Well, I don't know. Is Vanderbilt still dangerous, do you think?
- 34:22Speaker 1: This year, no. Yeah. In future years, maybe. Yeah. And
- 34:28Speaker 1: their biggest weakness is probably they're starting a freshman quarterback.
- 34:34Speaker 1: And defense is not very good, but I still think
- 34:38Speaker 1: their biggest weakness is their offense. Because I think our
- 34:42Speaker 1: defense will control their offense. And our offense will be
- 34:46Speaker 1: able to control their defense. Agreed. Mostly because of the line. Yeah. Oh, exactly.
- 34:52Speaker 1: The line will protect them. Now, when we come back,
- 34:55Speaker 1: I want to talk about an updated injury report. We'll
- 35:00Speaker 1: talk about that. Couple of little, little... Click's in there
- 35:03Speaker 1: I'm a little nervous about. But on the other hand,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I'm good with everything. So let's talk about that as
- 35:08Speaker 1: soon as we get back. And in hour two, we're
- 35:10Speaker 1: going to talk about some basketball. And we'll finish up
- 35:12Speaker 1: with football. But anyway, stay right there. If you want
- 35:14Speaker 1: to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line, 502-414-1450.
- 35:16Speaker 1: This is just a count.
- 35:37Speaker 5: On a lost and lonely highway Paying for my sins
- 35:43Speaker 5: If heaven saw me out last Friday I'm lying in
- 35:46Speaker 5: me I'm getting used to getting sideways Till I can't
- 35:52Speaker 5: see straight We'll be right back.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Man. I am thoroughly impressed. I am going to have
- 36:32Speaker 1: to go download some more songs. He's good, man. He
- 36:36Speaker 1: really is. Uh, all right. Do you know his real name?
- 36:41Speaker 1: I could not tell you Collins. Oh, Bina. And it
- 36:46Speaker 1: looks like it's pronounced Shabuizy or something. It's Shabuizy or
- 36:50Speaker 1: something like that. C-H-I-B-U-E-Z-E. And so it sounds like it's
- 36:56Speaker 1: Shabuizy to me. Probably is, yeah. Yeah, exactly. He just
- 36:59Speaker 1: made it Americanized. Known professionally as Shabuizy, but here's the
- 37:03Speaker 1: crazy part. Where do you think he's from? Oh, man.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Do you think he's American? I do. Okay, good. I
- 37:12Speaker 1: would say Louisiana. He's from Virginia. Yeah, Woodbridge, Virginia, where
- 37:18Speaker 1: I have no idea where that is. But golly, Moses,
- 37:21Speaker 1: I really like his music. Okay, you have sold me today.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I just wanted you to play one song, and by golly,
- 37:28Speaker 1: you're playing everything from his list. Are these songs you
- 37:31Speaker 1: know as well?
- 37:32Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Okay. I'm not hip with the kids anymore. By the way,
- 37:37Speaker 1: I got to get myself hip.
- 37:38Speaker 2: His last name is not pronounced like that.
- 37:40Speaker 1: It's not.
- 37:41Speaker 2: He adopted the name after a high school football coach
- 37:44Speaker 2: in Virginia misspelled and mispronounced.
- 37:46Speaker 1: His last name. I love it when that kind of
- 37:49Speaker 1: stuff happens. That's hilarious. And so he just adopted it.
- 37:54Speaker 1: He probably is really close with the coach too. I bet.
- 37:56Speaker 1: I guarantee it's what I would predict. Yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 1: All right then. Uh, let's get back to the whiskey
- 38:01Speaker 1: thief text line.
- 38:03Speaker 4: 502-414-1450.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Uh, 48 Hanley said, um, the Chicago bears won the
- 38:09Speaker 1: NFL championship by a score of 73 to nothing. I
- 38:13Speaker 1: didn't know that the winner of next year's Kentucky Derby
- 38:16Speaker 1: will have something in common with Audie Murphy. The most
- 38:20Speaker 1: heartbreaking loss in UK history was in 1996. You were
- 38:23Speaker 1: just a yearling, Michael. Yeah. I don't know who that was,
- 38:27Speaker 1: but it's okay. I appreciate that. So, yeah, I didn't
- 38:33Speaker 1: realize the Bears had that kind of a win over somebody.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Did you watch the game last night between the Bears
- 38:40Speaker 1: and the Patriots? I watched the majority of it, yeah.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Did you watch the beginning where they had the moment
- 38:45Speaker 1: of silence for Mike Ditka? I did not see that.
- 38:48Speaker 1: It was really nice. And you, I'm not kidding. I
- 38:52Speaker 1: thought my TV was on mute or something was wrong
- 38:56Speaker 1: with the sound. I turned it up. It's like, oh.
- 38:59Speaker 1: And then I saw the picture. It's like, oh, wow, man.
- 39:02Speaker 2: By the way, you know the 1966 loss.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Oh, that was Texas. Western. Western, yeah. Okay, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
- 39:09Speaker 1: you're right. You're right. I do know that one. Pat
- 39:11Speaker 1: Riley was on that team. I forget who else was,
- 39:15Speaker 1: but yeah. I forgot. Thank you. Uh, one, uh, Zach
- 39:19Speaker 1: texted in waiting on scoots to, uh, take a visit
- 39:23Speaker 1: to game day men's house so he has a reason
- 39:26Speaker 1: to check the back seat the hell does that mean
- 39:29Speaker 1: zach the.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Hell does that mean explain yourself i don't want a
- 39:37Speaker 2: reason to check the back.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Seat oh i think you know what it means uh
- 39:44Speaker 1: but anyway yeah uh in 48 handles you that was
- 39:46Speaker 1: rups runs yeah thank you i i i I didn't
- 39:49Speaker 1: realize that was rough front that year. So anyway, but that's,
- 39:53Speaker 1: that's why you got me. Yeah. All right. Let's talk
- 39:55Speaker 1: about the updated availability report. Let's start with the bad news.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Cause that's what I like starting with.
- 40:02Speaker 6: Okay.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yep. Two starters are out. Sam green, the edge player
- 40:06Speaker 1: and Nick Anderson, the wide receiver. Oh, he is out.
- 40:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 1: He's Alex. So that that's a done deal. Now let's
- 40:12Speaker 1: go to the good news. Running back. CJ Baxter is
- 40:16Speaker 1: going to be playing. That's good. And a nose tackle
- 40:19Speaker 1: that Kalen Edwards is definitely going to be played. So,
- 40:22Speaker 1: cause here's the concern with CJ, you know, this whole,
- 40:25Speaker 1: it's a hamstring issue. And that's what he suffered from
- 40:29Speaker 1: when he was at Texas too. So it's kind of
- 40:31Speaker 1: continuing lingering around. So I'm a little concerned about that.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I I'm to the point where this is Vanderbilt. Let
- 40:40Speaker 1: Jason Patterson play this game and you sit this one
- 40:43Speaker 1: out and that'll give him another two weeks off. before
- 40:47Speaker 1: UK heads down to Knoxville, don't you think that would
- 40:50Speaker 1: be a good idea? Or do you think it's a
- 40:53Speaker 1: good idea to go ahead and let him play this
- 40:55Speaker 1: game out? I mean, you don't need him. You hope
- 40:58Speaker 1: you don't need him. No, I'm saying confidently you don't
- 41:01Speaker 1: need him. And I love that you're saying that confidently.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I'm not there. And I want to continue to say
- 41:07Speaker 1: this because every time I'm like this, UK does okay.
- 41:11Speaker 1: So I don't know. That begs the question of you
- 41:14Speaker 1: being like that on purpose now. No, I'm not. If
- 41:21Speaker 1: I want to answer you completely honestly, I'm not doing
- 41:25Speaker 1: this on purpose. I am so nervous. Because I want
- 41:30Speaker 1: this to be that season that I've always dreamed of.
- 41:33Speaker 1: The special season that I have always wanted. And I'm
- 41:40Speaker 1: to the point now. If UK can beat Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Missouri,
- 41:48Speaker 1: And UofL, that's the last four games, isn't it? If
- 41:52Speaker 1: they can, and UofL, yeah. I would love for them
- 41:57Speaker 1: to play Alabama again. Yeah, I think it would be
- 42:02Speaker 1: a different result. I don't know if the.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Outcome would be different, but I do think the way
- 42:06Speaker 2: the game played out.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Would be different. I don't know if it would be
- 42:09Speaker 1: different either, but I would love to see this team
- 42:12Speaker 1: with all the, because that was the second game of
- 42:15Speaker 1: the year. We didn't know what kind of team this
- 42:17Speaker 1: team was. I don't even know if that team, the
- 42:21Speaker 1: team knew what kind of team they are. And now
- 42:23Speaker 1: with the confidence they're just creating to build week in,
- 42:27Speaker 1: week out, I think it potentially, well, I definitely believe
- 42:31Speaker 1: it potentially could be it. a different outcome. Now, do
- 42:34Speaker 1: I believe it would happen? I'd like to see. So, man,
- 42:41Speaker 1: it's just growing to be a fun season. And if
- 42:45Speaker 1: UK wins this weekend, There's a potential for them to
- 42:49Speaker 1: be in the top 10, head to Knoxville after a
- 42:53Speaker 1: week off, which always makes me nervous too. But after
- 42:56Speaker 1: a week off, you get your players rested. Hopefully you
- 42:59Speaker 1: get Sam Green and Nick Anderson back in. You get
- 43:02Speaker 1: all your starters there. You go down to Knoxville. That
- 43:05Speaker 1: potentially could be two top 10 teams playing against each other. Yeah.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Which I can't imagine that's ever happened in the series, right?
- 43:14Speaker 1: Never. If it has, I wasn't alive or I don't
- 43:18Speaker 1: remember it. I don't ever remember UK being ranked in
- 43:22Speaker 1: the top 10 this time of season anyway, no matter
- 43:27Speaker 1: who it's against. And I definitely don't remember it being
- 43:30Speaker 1: against Tennessee and Tennessee being a top 10 team.
- 43:34Speaker 2: So, I mean, we got a long way to go.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Before we can talk about Tennessee. Well, they also have
- 43:38Speaker 2: to win, and they're an underdog at South Carolina. Do
- 43:41Speaker 2: you know that?
- 43:42Speaker 1: Tennessee is an underdog at South Carolina? South Carolina is
- 43:46Speaker 1: a two-and-a-half point favorite. Oh, it's a toss-up game. Isn't
- 43:49Speaker 1: that crazy? That is crazy because everybody wanted, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 1: Beamer gone before the game and even more so after
- 43:58Speaker 1: UK beat them. And now they're– that's just crazy. Okay,
- 44:02Speaker 1: that blows my mind away. They're not even ranked either,
- 44:05Speaker 1: are they?
- 44:05Speaker 5: They're not.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:07Speaker 2: But that's what, I mean, I guess that's what going
- 44:09Speaker 2: down to Florida and stomping their head in can do
- 44:11Speaker 2: for you.
- 44:11Speaker 1: One game. Isn't that crazy? Yeah. And I bet you
- 44:15Speaker 1: they're still, vast majority of the fans would like to
- 44:17Speaker 1: see Beamer gone still, even though they beat Florida. I
- 44:22Speaker 1: guess it depends on how the season ends out. I
- 44:24Speaker 1: don't know. I still don't think, I don't know. I
- 44:27Speaker 1: don't know what the rest of their schedule looks like,
- 44:30Speaker 1: but I bet it's pretty difficult. And on top of
- 44:32Speaker 1: it all, they got to play Clemson at the end
- 44:34Speaker 1: of the year. Clemson. They do, but that's still a
- 44:38Speaker 1: close game. I guarantee it. So I don't know. We'll
- 44:41Speaker 1: have to see. Zach texted back in. Just wanted to
- 44:43Speaker 1: give y'all a laugh this morning, but y'all skipped my
- 44:45Speaker 1: other text. I'm sorry. I didn't see the other text.
- 44:48Speaker 1: What's this y'all about? I didn't skip no text. What
- 44:50Speaker 1: are your requirements, Michael, for a school to be considered
- 44:53Speaker 1: a rival? I thought everybody knew that. It has to
- 44:56Speaker 1: be close series. It does for them to be a rival. Zach,
- 45:02Speaker 1: you're not going to like this for UK and UofL
- 45:04Speaker 1: are not a basketball rival because it's not been a
- 45:07Speaker 1: close series. It has to be a close series. Just
- 45:10Speaker 1: like with Kentucky, Tennessee and football. That's not a rival.
- 45:14Speaker 1: It's not even close. Uh, so it has to be
- 45:17Speaker 1: a close series. Yeah. And Vanderbilt in UK is not
- 45:20Speaker 1: a close series for it to be a rival. That's
- 45:22Speaker 1: kind of how I've always felt like. There you go. Uh,
- 45:24Speaker 1: what are your requirements, Michael, for a school to be
- 45:27Speaker 1: considered a rival? I just, I, I saw it literally
- 45:29Speaker 1: just read. I did. I did. There you go.
- 45:31Speaker 4: Okay.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Shut up. Jerk. That's okay. I just, I, I messed
- 45:36Speaker 1: up people. We'll text them. Sometimes I slip up. Okay.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I don't pre-read these texts and it is intentional. Uh,
- 45:44Speaker 1: 48 handle. He said, Gamecocks are on the uptick. Uh,
- 45:48Speaker 1: might be using those steel spurs down there tonight. Oh
- 45:52Speaker 1: my gosh. Tomorrow. Well, he said tonight, but yeah, I
- 45:55Speaker 1: think he does mean tomorrow. So anyway. All right. Um,
- 45:59Speaker 1: we got to take a break, right? Yep. When we
- 46:01Speaker 1: come back, uh, Corey price should be here. So I
- 46:03Speaker 1: kind of look forward to hearing what he has to say.
- 46:05Speaker 1: about his week, because he's been gone all week, you know,
- 46:08Speaker 1: Corey P. from TV. So, anyway, we've got a lot
- 46:11Speaker 1: more to talk about. Plus, we've got to talk about
- 46:13Speaker 1: some basketball. Kentucky faces Texas Tech, which we all know,
- 46:16Speaker 1: but we're still going to talk about it. Stay right there.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Hour 2 of Just Cats coming right up. Welcome to
- 46:40Speaker 1: Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. I love how it
- 46:51Speaker 1: starts the second hour and somebody's already criticizing me. It
- 46:55Speaker 1: does make me laugh. One texter said, your definition of
- 47:02Speaker 1: a rival. Is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Preach.
- 47:08Speaker 1: It's my opinion. And so let me. I love how
- 47:10Speaker 1: he said. Clearly he talked into his phone to send
- 47:15Speaker 1: me this text. Because your definition of arrival. It says A-R-R-I-V-A-L.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Not A. And then next word. R-I-V-A-L. Arrival. Yeah. Like
- 47:29Speaker 1: a plane arrives. Yeah. I thought that was funny.
- 47:31Speaker 3: So.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Anyway, thank you, Texter. I know it's dumb, but my
- 47:35Speaker 1: brain is dumb. I don't know why it's that way.
- 47:37Speaker 1: I have different opinions of different things, and a lot
- 47:42Speaker 1: of them are kind of crazy, and that's one of them. But, yeah,
- 47:45Speaker 1: I think a rival should be completely different. So what
- 47:49Speaker 1: is your definition, Corey Price, of a rival? He's over
- 47:54Speaker 1: here on his phone. Oh, I forgot. I had him
- 47:56Speaker 1: on the other mic. Oh, geez.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Hello.
- 47:58Speaker 6: Hello. I think just history. If you play them a
- 48:03Speaker 6: lot through the years, obviously, if they're close to you.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I mean, that's... And close in winning and losses, too?
- 48:13Speaker 6: To me, that doesn't matter.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Is it not? It matters.
- 48:17Speaker 4: No.
- 48:18Speaker 6: We could beat Louisville every year for the next 160 years,
- 48:22Speaker 6: and I would still call them our.
- 48:24Speaker 1: You'd rather beat Louisville than Tennessee? Yes. I was born.
- 48:30Speaker 6: Born and raised in Louisville. I deal with these people daily. So, yes,
- 48:34Speaker 6: I want to beat them every chance we get.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 48:38Speaker 6: For the next 720 years, actually.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Really?
- 48:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I've always felt that way about Tennessee. Tennessee is bigger
- 48:44Speaker 1: to me to win because we always lost to them.
- 48:46Speaker 6: They're my second biggest, but they're not my biggest.
- 48:50Speaker 1: No, I would rather have– man. All right. All right.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Let's talk about this for a second because I think
- 48:57Speaker 1: this is a good question. would you rather have UK
- 49:04Speaker 1: beat Tennessee and go on and win out the rest
- 49:09Speaker 1: of the season? Or would you rather beat U of
- 49:11Speaker 1: L in basketball this season? That seems easy. Does it
- 49:17Speaker 1: really Yeah.
- 49:18Speaker 6: Football, because, I mean, we, I mean.
- 49:20Speaker 1: You'll never see it. I mean, you never have seen it. Yeah,
- 49:24Speaker 1: we've never seen it.
- 49:25Speaker 6: I mean, with, if Stein stays here, knock on wood,
- 49:28Speaker 6: I think this will be something that is hopefully somewhat normal,
- 49:31Speaker 6: but like you say, I mean, I mean, 77 and
- 49:34Speaker 6: 1950 are the only two seasons that are, Right now,
- 49:41Speaker 6: better than this one.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Right, right. Well, you're right there with it. But you know,
- 49:45Speaker 1: it's not Tuesday, Justin, but you know what it means.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Take me away.
- 49:49Speaker 1: I don't mind.
- 49:50Speaker 3: But you better promise me I'll be back in time.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Gotta get back in time. Well, for a rare Friday.
- 50:05Speaker 6: I know.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Attendance. Is this the first Friday?
- 50:08Speaker 6: I think this might be the second.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Second one you've been in on friday before no this
- 50:12Speaker 1: is the 23rd so it's like the third friday of
- 50:14Speaker 1: the month oh good one right thank you i could.
- 50:17Speaker 6: Actually be i think i've done one friday before i
- 50:19Speaker 6: think i'm pretty sure.
- 50:20Speaker 1: I have you really okay all right then well it's
- 50:23Speaker 1: nice to have you on this friday yeah and because
- 50:25Speaker 1: you you're doing this today because why.
- 50:27Speaker 6: I didn't get home from my trip to oklahoma until
- 50:32Speaker 6: 3 a.m wednesday morning are you serious yeah 3 a.m.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Wednesday morning. Okay, so tell us.
- 50:39Speaker 6: I had to be up at work at 645, and
- 50:41Speaker 6: I didn't do any work yet on this, so there's
- 50:44Speaker 6: no way I could do it.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. All right, well, let's hear about it.
- 50:47Speaker 1: You left what day last week? Friday or Saturday?
- 50:51Speaker 6: I left Friday morning to go to Evansville to meet
- 50:54Speaker 6: my friend from college, Jordan.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 50:57Speaker 6: Shout out to Jordan. And we left together from Evansville,
- 51:01Speaker 6: and we made stops in Missouri. Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and
- 51:07Speaker 6: New Mexico.
- 51:09Speaker 1: New Mexico? Are you serious?
- 51:11Speaker 6: Yeah. For him, this is like Christmas to him. I mean,
- 51:16Speaker 6: I look forward to this trip every year, but he
- 51:18Speaker 6: really looks forward to this trip every year. And he
- 51:20Speaker 6: plans out everything, like all the roadside attractions we see.
- 51:24Speaker 1: I saw y'all went to Willie Colley-Stein's high school.
- 51:27Speaker 3: Yep.
- 51:29Speaker 1: You went to Willie Colley-Stein's high school?
- 51:32Speaker 6: It's in Kansas.
- 51:32Speaker 1: That's your favorite player, though, right? Is that why?
- 51:35Speaker 6: Not my favorite, but, I mean, we were driving through Kansas,
- 51:37Speaker 6: and he's probably the best player that we've ever had
- 51:40Speaker 6: from Kansas. So, I figured, why not?
- 51:43Speaker 1: I think that's hilarious. That's the pure definition of random
- 51:48Speaker 1: right there. He likes to do random stops and random attractions,
- 51:52Speaker 1: so it was a lot of fun. So, where did
- 51:54Speaker 1: you stop in New Mexico?
- 51:56Speaker 6: Honestly, we went there just to say that we went
- 51:58Speaker 6: into that state. So, we drove... I don't know, maybe.
- 52:02Speaker 1: How far out of the way?
- 52:04Speaker 6: Well, we were doing stops in Texas. So I think
- 52:06Speaker 6: the stop we went to in Texas, it was only
- 52:08Speaker 6: like 30 miles. So we were like.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Oh, is that all? So we're like, might as well. Yeah,
- 52:13Speaker 1: I agree with you.
- 52:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:14Speaker 6: So we just went to like some random truck stop
- 52:17Speaker 6: and then started back.
- 52:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Just so we. Okay, yeah, because I've driven through there.
- 52:23Speaker 1: I've been to Albuquerque and Santa Fe, which was beautiful.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Santa Fe was amazing.
- 52:27Speaker 2: So now moving forward, Cordy, when people ask you if
- 52:29Speaker 2: you've been to New Mexico, you've got to tell them, yeah,
- 52:31Speaker 2: we went to.
- 52:31Speaker 1: A truck stop.
- 52:32Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I had been there. It was short-lived,
- 52:35Speaker 6: but I was there.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you were. That's cool. Good for you. And the
- 52:39Speaker 1: football game, let's hear... I mean, yeah. What do you say?
- 52:44Speaker 1: Were you surprised? A little bit, because we.
- 52:50Speaker 6: we hadn't played Norman in 46 years, so I didn't
- 52:52Speaker 6: know how they would, they would handle it.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I mean, the.
- 52:54Speaker 6: Crowd was okay. I thought they'd be a little better.
- 52:57Speaker 6: I mean, the, the student section was pretty good, but
- 53:00Speaker 6: besides the student section, there's kind of, I mean, I
- 53:02Speaker 6: guess they're kind of, uh, frustrated with how their season's going,
- 53:06Speaker 6: so that might be why, but, um, it wasn't too crazy, uh, fan-wise. Uh, I,
- 53:14Speaker 6: I was sitting up top around, uh, uh, sooner fans, so,
- 53:21Speaker 6: I tried my best to stay a little calm and cool.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Didn't run the mouth any? Let's be honest now. Do
- 53:28Speaker 1: you ever envision Corey Price running the mouth? That's a
- 53:31Speaker 1: good point.
- 53:32Speaker 6: I didn't run my mouth, but I did go a
- 53:34Speaker 6: little crazy when Jordan Castell had to pick six.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Yeah. How could you not?
- 53:39Speaker 6: But the rest of the game, I was pretty cool.
- 53:42Speaker 6: I didn't want to get in any fights or anything, so.
- 53:47Speaker 6: But like I mentioned to you off the air, their
- 53:50Speaker 6: fans were like so over-the-top nice. I almost felt bad
- 53:55Speaker 6: for beating them. I mean, every single one of them. Now,
- 53:59Speaker 6: on the walk back to our car after the game,
- 54:01Speaker 6: there were two students that were pretty drunk and said
- 54:03Speaker 6: something that wasn't nice. But besides that, I mean, every
- 54:07Speaker 6: other fan, it was just like, welcome to Norman. Have
- 54:11Speaker 6: a good time. Have a safe drive home. It's like, man.
- 54:13Speaker 1: That's nice. Because Norman is just like a suburb of
- 54:16Speaker 1: Oklahoma City, right? Right. So it's just kind of crazy
- 54:19Speaker 1: how their big school is right there. I would love
- 54:23Speaker 1: it if UK was over in Shelbyville. I mean, that
- 54:25Speaker 1: would make me so happy. I would. I would love it.
- 54:28Speaker 1: I wouldn't have to drive an hour, well, two hours
- 54:31Speaker 1: with the way the traffic and construction is around campus
- 54:34Speaker 1: right now. It's miserable.
- 54:37Speaker 6: They've got a lot going on there.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Yeah, they do. All right, well, you want to talk
- 54:41Speaker 1: about this week? I guess we can.
- 54:46Speaker 6: October 18th through the 24th. Starting off October 18th, 1947.
- 54:51Speaker 6: Michael's favorite year. Number 20, UK football defeats number 10,
- 54:56Speaker 6: Vanderbilt 14-0 in Nashville. This was the only time that
- 55:00Speaker 6: UK had played against a ranked Vandy team up until
- 55:03Speaker 6: last season. Russian Yards, UK 261, Vanderbilt 36. And the
- 55:10Speaker 6: Wildcats were led on offense by future NFL Hall of
- 55:13Speaker 6: Famer George Blanda.
- 55:13Speaker 1: Oh, really? Really?
- 55:15Speaker 6: Yeah, touchdown pass, a touchdown run, and kicked two extra points.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Who was the quarterback in 1947 for Vanderbilt?
- 55:24Speaker 6: That would be Fast Legs McGee.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Really? Are you serious? No, I'm not serious. Okay. All right.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Just thought I'd ask you.
- 55:33Speaker 6: October 18th, 1988.
- 55:34Speaker 1: It was Billy Wade.
- 55:37Speaker 6: Billy... Okay.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Yeah. He was actually a really close friend of my dad's.
- 55:42Speaker 3: Oh, is.
- 55:44Speaker 6: Is that why you asked?
- 55:44Speaker 1: It is why I asked. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wasn't kidding.
- 55:48Speaker 6: You learn something every day, Michael Bennett.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Yes, you do.
- 55:50Speaker 6: October 18th, 1988, the sitcom Roseanne airs its first episode
- 55:54Speaker 6: on TV. Were you a big Roseanne guy?
- 55:56Speaker 1: No, not a fan at all. I like Roseanne. Do
- 55:58Speaker 1: you really?
- 55:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 56:00Speaker 6: Created by Matt Williams, it starred, of course, Roseanne Barr,
- 56:04Speaker 6: Michael Fishman, Johnny Galecki, Sarah Gilbert, John Goodman, Leslie Gorenson,
- 56:10Speaker 6: and Laurie Metcalf. The show aired a total of 231
- 56:14Speaker 6: episodes over 10 seasons on ABC. It actually was nine
- 56:18Speaker 6: seasons and took a break and came back for one season,
- 56:21Speaker 6: I think like 2017, 2018, something like that. In 2002,
- 56:25Speaker 6: TV Guide ranked the show number 35 on the list
- 56:28Speaker 6: of the 50 greatest TV shows of all time. October 19th.
- 56:33Speaker 1: That seems too high. I mean, yeah, it's good.
- 56:36Speaker 6: It's not great, but it's good. October 19th, 2002. Kentucky
- 56:41Speaker 6: football defeats Arkansas 29-17 in Fayetteville. This is UK's first
- 56:46Speaker 6: win ever against Arkansas in Fayetteville. UK won despite the
- 56:51Speaker 6: rushing yards being in Arkansas' favor, 293-79. Oh, my gosh.
- 56:57Speaker 6: The Wildcats were led on offense by Aaron Boone's seven
- 57:00Speaker 6: receptions for 102 yards and one touchdown. I like this one.
- 57:07Speaker 6: October 19th, 2018, the horror film Halloween is released in theaters.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:15Speaker 6: The newest Halloween. Oh, I was going to say, wait
- 57:17Speaker 6: a minute now. Not the 1978 version.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Sorry, guys.
- 57:22Speaker 6: Directed by David Gordon Green. It stars Holick Bill Diner,
- 57:28Speaker 6: Jimmy Lee Curtis, Virginia Gardner, Judy Greer, Andy Matichak, and
- 57:33Speaker 6: Will Patton. The film grossed approximately $ 159. 3 million domestically, making
- 57:40Speaker 6: it the 19th highest-grossing film of 2018. And the film
- 57:44Speaker 6: was nominated for two Saturn Awards, winning one for Best Actress,
- 57:49Speaker 6: Jimmy Lee Curtis. October 20, 1951, UK football defeats No.
- 57:52Speaker 6: 12 Villanova, 35-13.
- 57:55Speaker 1: At Stouffield. Wow, does Villanova even have football anymore? Yeah,
- 58:02Speaker 1: they do, don't they? They do. They play mobile. That's right.
- 58:05Speaker 6: Just want to say this is the only time that
- 58:07Speaker 6: UK has played a ranked Nova team because their last
- 58:10Speaker 6: season of FBS football was 1980.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 58:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:15Speaker 6: Total yards, it was UK 414, Villanova 198. And the
- 58:20Speaker 6: Wildcats were led on offense by Steve Meilinger's four receptions
- 58:26Speaker 6: for 108 yards and three touchdowns. October 20th, 1995, the
- 58:33Speaker 6: gangster comedy film Get Shorty is released.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Oh, I love this movie. Yeah, you do? Yes. Good.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Gene Hackman, John Travolta. I mean, it's a long list.
- 58:43Speaker 1: That's a great movie. In fact, I went back and
- 58:46Speaker 1: watched it, I think, within the last couple of months.
- 58:49Speaker 6: Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. Stars Danny DeVito, Dennis Farina, James Gandolfini,
- 58:57Speaker 6: Gene Hackman, as you mentioned, Dale... Delroy Lindo, Bette Midler,

- 59:19Speaker 6: Picture Musical Comedy, and that was for John Travolta. October 21, 1964.
- 59:26Speaker 6: The musical comedy drama film My Fair Lady. Were you
- 59:31Speaker 6: a big My Fair Lady guy?
- 59:32Speaker 1: I saw the play. I never saw the movie. Yeah,
- 59:34Speaker 1: it's got Yul Brynner in it. Or no, was it? No,
- 59:37Speaker 1: I don't think it was Yul Brynner. That's the King
- 59:40Speaker 1: and I'm thinking.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Is that where London Bridges came from? My Fair Lady.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know.
- 59:47Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure that song is older than the film,
- 59:51Speaker 6: but I could be wrong.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:54Speaker 6: Directed by George Cukor. starred Theodore Bickle, Jeremy Brett, Gladys Cooper,
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: Rex Harrison, Audrey Hepburn, Stanley Holloway, and Wilfred Hyde White.
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: The film grossed approximately $ 72. 6 million domestically, making it the

- 1:00:28Speaker 6: Best original score. Best picture. Best production design.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Just give it everything.
- 1:00:35Speaker 6: And best sound.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:37Speaker 6: A lot of Academy Awards there. Oscars, as it goes on.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Yeah. It was a play before it was a movie,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: by the way. It was a great play. I remember it.
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: I have not seen it.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: October 21st, 1989. UK football defeats LSU 27-21 at Commonwealth Stadium.

- 1:01:57Speaker 4: U.K.
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: Football defeats No. 11 Georgia 16-10 at Commonwealth Stadium.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: This is U.K.
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: 's first win against a ranked SEC opponent since 1977
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: at No. 16 LSU. Georgia was held to 49 passing

- 1:02:29Speaker 1: What year was this?
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: 1954.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: So tomorrow is her birthday, actually.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Oh, happy. What's her name? Linda. Linda.
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: Oh, mom.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Yeah, well, to you, mom. Listen, Linda. Yeah. Yeah, that's right.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: You know, Justin has been asking about your mom lately.
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: Okay. UK football defeats number 15, Georgia Tech, 13-6 in Atlanta.
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: I'm moving on, Michael Bennett. It's the only time the U.K.
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: has defeated a ranked Georgia Tech team.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: U.K.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: Won this fight only completing four passes out of 12 attempts.
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: And the Wildcats were led on offense by Bob Hardy's
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: first quarter touchdown pass and fourth quarter touchdown run. This
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: is a big one. 25 years ago today, October 23, 2001,
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: the iPod is unveiled to the public for the first time.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: 25 years ago today. Really? Yeah.
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: Did y'all own iPods?
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I did, absolutely. What was the little bitty baby one?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: iPod mini? It was like a little square. It was
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: so tiny. I had one of them.
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: It might be the mini.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: I thought it was the mini too.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: So it's a tiny iPod for tiny scoots.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Makes sense. That's right.
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: Steve Jobs unveiled the iPod at a small press event
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: in the town hall at Apple's Infinite Loop headquarters in Cupertino, California.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it was called the mini.
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: The original iPod had a 5-inch Gigabyte hard drive that put,
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: according to Steve Jobs, 1,000 songs in your pocket. And
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: it cost $ 399, which today would be about $ 760. Wow.
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: Pretty pricey.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: The iPod was discontinued on May 10, 2022, with over
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: 450 million units sold.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Jeez. Yeah, because what's going to happen? That's 25 years ago.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: So you take 25 years now. You're looking at the
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Apple Fold. I think it's what it's called, the new
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: one that folds. And it's $ 2, 000 just for the base one.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: What's 25 years? How much are iPhones going to cost
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: at that time or whatever technology we have then? Is
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: it going to be like $ 10, 000 to buy a phone?
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: Normally, new products, they are overpriced. But over time, they
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: do tend to go down in price. Like TVs when
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: they came in the 50s were.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Yeah. But based on inflation, like crazy amount. Well, plasma
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: TVs were like in the thousands of dollars. Now you
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: can go buy one at Costco for less than, what, $ 500?
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: By the way, I had an iPod Shuffle. Oh, did
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: you really? It was a little bitty tiny baby one. Okay.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: I can get one now for like $ 20. Wow.
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: I never had one. I did have. Any smart product
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: until I got an iPhone in 2022.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: That explains a lot. I mean, can you even download
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: music anymore on your computer? Like, you know, how you
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: put the CD in and download it then? I don't
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: even think you can do that anymore, can you? It's
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: just all in the air. There's not a need to
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: do that anymore.
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: Right, there's not a need.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: You probably can. It's just so much harder than it
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: needs to be. How do you get your music, Justin?
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Apple Music.
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: Apple Music, yeah.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Same way for me, okay.
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: October 24th, 2009, UK football defeats Louisiana Monroe 36-13 at
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: Commonwealth Stadium. UK's third win against Louisiana Monroe dating back
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: to 1997, third straight win. UK was aided by two
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: non-offensive touchdowns, a 73-yard punt return by Randall Cobb in
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: the first quarter, a 50-yard pick-six by Randall Burden in
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: the fourth quarter. Wildcats were led on offense by John Connors,
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: 72 yards from scrimmage, And two touchdowns, one receiving, one rushing.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: Last one, October 24, 2014, the comedy-drama film St. Vincent
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: is released. Did you ever see St.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Vincent? Oh, I love. That's with Bill Murray, isn't it?
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: It is. Yeah, it's a great movie.
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: Directed by Theodore Melfi, stars Terrence Howard, Jaden Martell, Melissa McCarthy,
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: as mentioned, Bill Murray, Chris O'Dowd, and Naomi Watts. The
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: film grossed approximately $ 44. 1 million domestically, making it the 74th
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: highest-correction film of 2014. And the film was nominated for
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: two Golden Globe Awards, but won none.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Oh, that's too bad. Josh texted in and said, You know, Corey,
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Fast Legs McGee was also an All-American at South Harmon
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Institute of Technology before transferring to Vanderbilt.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: So there you go. That's a great, great film.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Oh, really? What film is that? Uh, yep.
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: There you go.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: I didn't hear you. Accepted.
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: Accepted.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: I've never heard of that movie. So I didn't get
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: the record. He brought it up one week. Oh, he did.
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: Uh, Justin Long's in it. Uh, Jonah Hill's in it.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Oh, Jonah Hill's in it. Okay. All right. Then there
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: you go. Yeah. I like watching that clip of Jonah Hill,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: just losing it with an interviewer because he's always, he
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: said he's asking about his weight. Have you ever seen that?
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: And he just loses it.
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: Don't think I've seen that. Oh, it's hilarious. I do
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: enjoy that.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: So, all right. this weekend we have Vanderbilt. What are
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: you thinking? You're back up in the booth. You're ready
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: for this game. Justin is pretty confident about this game tomorrow.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: How does Corey Price feel about this game?
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: I am curious to see how they handle this week
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: because I believe you've been, betting-wise, an underdog for all
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: of our conference games so far, I believe.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: All of them. It's not even close.
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: To go from an underdog to a pretty heavy favorite,
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: I do want to see how Stein and the staff...
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: handle it with the players, you know, getting prepped, getting ready.
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: I mean, on paper, this spread's right. I mean, it
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: should be close. Batting is not good. Lost to Arkansas,
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: which might be the worst team in the conference. So
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: if we handle our business, if we don't turn the
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: ball over, which knock on wood we haven't done almost
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: at all in conference play, it should be a breeze.
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: I mean, I'm going to go 38-21.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: 38-21. All right. Okay. So, Vanderbilt's going to score 21
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: points against Kentucky's defense.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: I don't think they will. They may not. Will it
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: be the offense, Corey? Oh, you think it's going to
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: be on the defense? Or maybe they get a pick
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: six or something?
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: Well, Minshew's taking great care of the ball. He's on
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: the phone one pick.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but that was last week, right? No, that was
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: the Bama game.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Was it really the Bama? Oh, that's right.
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: I remember that. He threw a pick six, and that's
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: the only pick he's thrown all year.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Oh, he's due for another. He's been.
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's going to hurt Kentucky. I'm just
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: saying he's due for another.
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: Thanks, Scooch.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: No, he's not due for another.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: He's been great with the ball. He's been putting close to.
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: Same percentage passes, like I said, one pick. He's managed
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: the offense.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Amazingly.
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: I heard you mention Baxter before I got here. I
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: think you're right. Probably should have him rest again. So, yes,
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: three weeks off before Tennessee.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: I mean, because Passion runs the ball well, too.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: He does.
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: Wouldn't mind having Barnes get some more carries.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: And we haven't seen Carter get any carries since the
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: third game.
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it was at South Alabama. But, yeah, I
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: just feel like, listen, if you get up on a
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: pretty good score with them, which I hope we do,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: you can turn it into a let's see what everybody
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: else can do and save everybody else for the next
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: big game. Not a rival game, but a big game.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: It's a rivalry. Sorry. But, anyway.
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: You mentioned a top-ten matchup. I looked up, I think, yesterday.
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: We've only been involved in three top ten matchups ever.
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: And they were in two seasons, 1950 and 1951.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Are you serious? That's crazy.
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: It was the last game of the season against Tennessee
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: in 1950. The bowl game against Oklahoma in 1950. Well,
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: Kentucky was.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: And then the last game of the season against Tennessee
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: in 1951. That's the only time.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: We've been here. Wow. That is crazy. Oh, you have
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: had a matchup with Tennessee top ten. Yeah.
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: Twice, yeah.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Wow. Have you texted that out or tweeted that out yet?
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: Not yet because technically we don't know if it will
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: be a top ten yet.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: But if it is top ten.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: I'll text it out. Yeah. That would be good. Yeah.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: And tweet it out too.
- 1:10:55Speaker 6: It'll be 75 years.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: Since we played in a top ten matchup. That's a
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: lot of people that weren't alive. But we have to
- 1:11:01Speaker 6: handle our business.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: And Tennessee has to do theirs. And then I do
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: believe we'll probably be top ten.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Because I'm surprised that Tennessee's the underdog to South Carolina.
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: Yeah, that baffles me. I'm not quite sure how that happens.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: Not much to say about the basketball game tonight, but
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: what are you thinking about this?
- 1:11:19Speaker 6: I mean, can I say no? I mean, I'm so
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: focused on football right now.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: And it's an exhibition.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: I get it.
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: So I just.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: I mean, maybe if football was, you know, two and five,
- 1:11:32Speaker 6: I'd probably care.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: But Corey Price doesn't care about cats basketball. Not right now. No,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: not right now. And I'm right there with them. It's
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: hard to.
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: Hot take Corey Price here with the I don't care
- 1:11:42Speaker 6: about the basketball right now.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: There we go. I kind of like that.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Keep saying that. So, all right, because we hope we
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: get the win. Next Tuesday, you'll be here. We'll talk
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: about a win.
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: I hope.
- 1:11:51Speaker 6: That's right.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: So, have fun this weekend.
- 1:11:53Speaker 6: And happy birthday, Mom, tomorrow.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Linda, happy birthday. Yeah, Linda, come on. Mom.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: Mom.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: She's not my mom, so happy birthday, Linda.
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Linda Price.
- 1:12:04Speaker 6: That's correct, yes.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Can we say what the age is?
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: Do you want to give out her address and her
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: phone number?
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Well, Justin would like to get it after the show.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: But can we say what her age is? She was
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: born in 1954, so can you do the math, Michael Bennett? 64, 74, 84, 94.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: She's not 94 years old.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: 2004. 71.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: 72.
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: Yeah, there you go, Scoots. You were right this second time.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: So good, Matt.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: 72.
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: That's right.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Well, good. I'm not good at math. But anyway, congratulations
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: to her. I hope you give her a big, big day.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: You got big things planned for her? Well, I got
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: the Vandy game tomorrow. I'm going to be in Lexington
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: pretty much all day. Come on. Well, take her to breakfast.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Take her to lunch. You don't have to be there
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: that early. Take care of your mom. See, even Corey P.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: from TV won't even take care of his own mom.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: This is really disappointing in you. I will try my
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: best to. I will try my best means absolutely nothing.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: It means I will do nothing for my mom. You
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: suck as a mom. Corey, the only thing your mom
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: wants on her birthday is to see you. Exactly. She
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: just wants a hug and a kiss.
- 1:13:16Speaker 6: A kiss on the cheek?
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: What's wrong with that?
- 1:13:21Speaker 6: I'll try to do breakfast.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I'll try. It still means he's doing nothing for her.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: That doesn't sound convincing. No, it's not convincing at all.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: What is wrong with that? Everybody loves you. Are you
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: just going to get up at 12.01 tonight and say,
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: happy birthday, mom, on a Twitter account? Come on. She
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: wants to see you.
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: She's not on Twitter.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Well, then she won't get anything.
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: I'll text her.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: I'll text her. You won't even call her, Corey? You
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: won't even go see her. I can't believe what's wrong
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: with you. I thought you were a good son. Game
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: days for me are busy. They are long days. Just
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: so happens they were playing a home game. You know,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: the day you were born was a long day for
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: your mom. And very painful.
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: I'm sure it was quick and painless.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, right. Knowing you now, it's been a long, painful
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: life for you.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: I was 10 pounds, 6 ounces. Oh, it was painful.
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: I'm sure it was not quick and painless.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: My goodness. All right. Corey Price, always fun having you here.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: We'll see you next Tuesday, I guess. Maybe. I don't know.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: What trips you got going on?
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: Zero trips.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I'll be here Tuesday. You're gone more than I am now.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: Are you going to be here?
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: Fake news. I'll be here.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: All right, then. Have fun this weekend, okay? I will.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Linda.
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: That's right.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: I'd come over and give you a hug if you
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: were my mom. Anyway, all right, we're going to take
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: a break right now. We'll give Corey a benefit of
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: the doubt. Yes, please. We'll think about him going to breakfast,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: even though he's sitting there not telling the truth. That's right.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Stay right there. We've got more Just Cats coming up.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: My baby born and working. She's been telling me all
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: night long.
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Gasoline and groceries.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: The list goes on and on. This nine to five
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: ain't working.
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: Why the hell do I work so hard?
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: I can't worry about my problems. I can't take them
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: when I'm gone.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: One, here comes the two, to the three, to the four.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: Tell them bring another round, we need plenty more. Two
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: stepping on the table, she don't need a dance floor.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: Oh my.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Good Lord. Very good right there. All right, let's talk
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: about some basketball as we get you ready for tonight's
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: second exhibition game for University of Kentucky Wildcats. Of course,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: they're going to be facing Texas Tech, which is kind of,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: I think it's a fun game. I mean, I think it's,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: you've got head coach Grant McFadden, Uh, McCasland, uh, that's
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: going to be heading near, you know, he's been there, what,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: two years now since he replaced Chris Beard, who had
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: it kind of going on there since they had, uh,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: that championship game back in 2019. So, uh, uh, you
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: look at this and you think, okay, here we go.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: JT Toppin playing for Texas tech. He's got to be
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: related to Jacob Toppin. Did you think the same thing
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: when you saw that?
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: I did, but I don't think they are. No, they're
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: not related at all, but JT is not playing.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Oh, he's not playing. I think he's still recovering from injury. Oh,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: he is. Okay. I thought he was going to.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: Be tore his ACL last year.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: If I remember correctly. Okay, good. Well, that tells you
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: what I know about, uh, I'm just not on top
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: of Texas Tech basketball. Yeah, so he tore his ACL
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: in February. Oh, he did? So he probably won't be
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: back until December. Yeah. Okay, good. So maybe we have
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: a shot. Of course, they're what? They're 19th in the country.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Is that right? Where they came out in the preseason
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: rankings on AP? So 19th in UK is 23. And
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: so you got J2' s not playing tonight. You got Donovan Atwell,
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: who's one of their perimeter shooters. Did really well last
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: season shooting, my goodness, 133 pointers last year at the
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: rate of 46%. Holy cow. You got another kid named
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Darian Williams, who's a 6'6 forward, who was added to
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: this lineup. a team Cruz Davis, who's supposed to be
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: a playmaker transferred in from Hofstra. And then you got
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: draw Gibbs law horn. What a name right there. Uh,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: but the former UNLV guard that is transferred in Texas tech, uh,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: another experienced player. So the one thing that they're trying
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: to sell you on is they're an experienced, uh, team
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: that has gotten together. Now it's just a matter of
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: whether or not, uh, you know, Grant McCaslin, the head
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: coach at Texas tech can get them together. And, uh,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: we'll have to see if that's now the upside. They
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: do have experience. They got perimeter shooting, uh, Once Toppin
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: gets healthy, they say they have a chance to be
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: a real factor within the ranking. JT's awesome. Biggest concern
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: is depth and health. I mean, yeah, you're right. I've
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: got to read my own notes, but Toppin's recovery has
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: been the major variable. Uh, and then you got, uh, transfer, uh,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Jim Michaels, uh, still well, uh, eligibility still remains unresolved.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: So you got one player that they don't even know
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: if he's going to be able to play or not. So,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: I think the big thing is whose roster is going
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: to be better. Is it going to be UK's or
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: is it going to be Texas Tech? Do you think
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Mark Pope gets out there and shows a little more
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: than what he did against Little Rock last week?
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: I mean, maybe a little bit more, but I still
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: think it's going to be very vanilla.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: Yeah. See, I kind of feel the same way. Is
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: the game in Lexington? The game's in Lexington. Yeah. I
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe he'll put on a show. I don't know.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I hope it's something a little more than what we
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: saw last week. Does the coaching matter in this kind
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: of a game? I don't think so. Does anything matter
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: in this type of game? I think getting the experience
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: playing against a better team Yes, to see how they,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: I think the biggest factor will be not how UK shoots,
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: but it'll be how UK defends. Yeah, I can see.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, look, this is only a second exhibition game,
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: so there's still a lot to look out for. How
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: does the offense operate defensively? What are we doing defensively?
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: I mean, there is a lot of things you can
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: learn from a game like this, but I don't know.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: It is at the end of the day. It's just
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: another exhibition game. Well, speaking of other exhibition games, you
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: know that Auburn, you said it yesterday, Auburn and Alabama
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: faced off last night. They are literally six minutes into
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: the game, and they got into it last night.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: And that's why we don't play conference opponents in exhibition games.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: I disagree. I loved it. That means an exhibition game
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: actually meant something to these two teams.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: So here's what happened. The game didn't mean anything to
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: these two teams. The rivalry meant something.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Well, okay. You got me there. I would agree. But
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: that equates to the game meaning something, doesn't it, though?
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: The rivalry was first and foremost, but the game did
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: mean something to them. Well, these guys know the game
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: didn't mean anything. Okay. All right, then. Well, it meant
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: something to them. So here's what happened. They had a
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: loose ball, and they had a scrum after it. And
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: it escalated to the benches clearing. So when the guys
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: had the ball, a couple of players from– Auburn's team
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: and a couple of players from Alabama's team where it
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: would not let go of the ball. And so that's
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: when the benches cleared and guess was in the midst
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: of all of this. I'm going to guess punk ass BG.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: You got it right. Brandon Garrison was in the midst
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: of all, he was one of four players that got
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: a technical foul because of all this. Now, The funny
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: part was you can go watch the video and you
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: see Nate Oates just going off, yelling at Auburn players,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: yelling at Steven Pearl. Steven Pearl turns around, laughs, walks away,
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: starts getting the crowd getting into it, and just walks
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: back to his bench. Nate Oates loses his mind. Now,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Alabama won the game 87-85. So it was a really,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: to me, you ask me, that's a great game. That's
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: a great exhibition game. I want to see more of this.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: Now, I think that was Alabama's second conference opponent in exhibition.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: I think they played Ole Miss.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Really? If I'm not mistaken, I think they played Ole Miss.
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy? I like that. I hate it. You
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: can say what you want. So you would not like
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: to see a little precursor to the UK UofL basketball game? No.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: You would not? I think it would be a lot
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: of fun. Okay. I mean, there's going to be a
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: time and a place to play those games. All right.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: I don't think this is it. All right.
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: Well.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: We got to take a break. But when we come back,
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: there's a crazy start to a race yesterday at Keeneland.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw that or not. I
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: don't guess so. I don't think you did. Oh, yes,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: I did. You did. Race number two at Keeneland was nuts.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I didn't see it, but I know what you're talking about. Oh,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: my gosh. That sucks. We're going to talk about that. Well, okay,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: we'll talk about it soon. Because I want to know
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: why you think it sucks. But it was pretty cool.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Stay right there. One more segment. Just Cats coming right up.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Three to the park.
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: Tell them bring another round.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: We need 30 more. Two stepping on the table. She
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: don't need a dance floor.
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: Oh, my.
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: Good Lord.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey. They
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: know me and Jack Daniels got a history.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: There's a party downtown near Fifth Street.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Everybody at the bar keeps it. Not a better fight
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: song in the world. I'm telling you right now. Sorry. Sorry, Justin.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: But thank you for doing that every week when we
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: have a game. And I do appreciate that. I mean,
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: we got to keep it going. We're winning. Cats are winning, baby. Yeah.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: You said it. You said it. We're winning. You said it.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: I love the way you said that. When I'm on here,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: it's kind of we are.
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: All right, then. Listen, I got a nice little text here. Michael,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I love you.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: How do you like that? That's great. Is that from Linda? No,
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: it's not. Well, it should be from Linda. But thank
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: you for not being on vacation this week. Five days
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: in a row. Woo-hoo. Best week ever. Well, you know what?
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Where have you been on, Mr. Lexington? Because you know what?
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: I haven't gotten texts from you five days in a row,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: so I'm very disappointed in you. I mean, you need
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: to either be a horseman or you need to be
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: a radio texter. Did make me laugh. That's a great text,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: by the way. You can call me out anytime you want.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: 48 Handley said, kind of like a horse not getting
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: his Lasix. Oh, boy. Field goal, couldn't find my ball. Oh,
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: my gosh. Couldn't find my bong this morning, so I
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: make a few mistakes. Wow. Kentucky's greatest rival in football
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: is and has always been the Vols. There you go.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Over the years, the wins have been few and far between.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Clarkie Mayfield, the pride of Black Mud, Kentucky, who would
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: later die a hero's death, saving people from the Beverly
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Hills Supper Club fire. up in northern Kentucky. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Kicked the winning field goal to secure one of the
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: rare wins. Oh, my goodness. The amount of information in
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: this dude's head. Yeah, I agree. Insane. Yeah. Gamecocks are
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: the uptick. Might be. Yeah, you read that. Yeah, I
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: already read that one. Okay, good. Got that. So, yesterday,
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw this. It was at
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Keeneland race number two. There was a racehorse named Functional
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: that came out of the gate. And you know how
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: they have a little bit of the fence going straight
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: so they don't turn and go the opposite way on
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: the track? So this horse veered... I mean, severely to
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: the left and literally jumped the fence right there on
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: the track and then veered back over to the right
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: and got back in the race.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: You explained it to me, but it's so much more
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: funny watching it.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: You've got to go watch it. It's crazy. It's the
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: craziest start of a race I've ever seen in my life.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Why would that horse do that? I don't know. But
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: the jockey, Rafael Bahoreno, I think is how you say
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: his name. stayed on the horse amazingly. And just all
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: of a sudden you see him coming back into the
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: race and he finished fifth. Anyway, I thought that the
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: horse and, and, and jockey are fine after the race.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: They did have a, uh, uh, inquiry. by the stewards
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: there at Keeneland, but they said, no, he did nothing wrong.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: He just jumped the fence and then got back in
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: the race. Can you imagine if that horse would have won? Oh,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: that's so funny. Oh, it was hilarious. He didn't affect
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: any other horse out there because he was in the
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: number one slot. But it was just the craziest start
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: of a race I've ever seen in my life. All right.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: And then I told you about some information that you
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: didn't know.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: I did not know that. I'm a little concerned. I
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: got to call a trainer after the show's over. Yeah,
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: you'll have to go watch the video.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: But, yeah, Irad Ortiz, basically in the last race, as
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: the race started, he just fell off the front of
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: his horse and broke his ankle.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: That's not good. Oh, that's not good. So he's out
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: for the Breeders' Cup. And he is supposed to ride–
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Hunting Goodwill, November 8th at Churchill. Oh, that sucks. Yeah.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: So I'm really disappointed with that. But anyway, we might
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: have to get Manny Franco to fly down from New York.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: So that would be what I would want. But World
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: Series starts tonight. I'm already ticked off at you because
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: you keep teasing me about it. That's not very nice
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: of you. I'm just being real with you. Yeah, I
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: hear you. Brewers in six. Golly, why do you keep
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: saying that? Please stop. Did you see, though, the Milwaukee
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Brewers had this deal back in 2015 where they sold 1,000
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: Brewers limited edition tickets for $ 1, 000. Have you seen this?
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: I have. It's called the Timeless Ticket. They promised the
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: buyers admission to any future home game, including a World Series,
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: with best available seat locations. Guess what? Everybody's cashing in.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: And don't you think they should? Yes. And they're not
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: honoring it. Wait, what? They are not. The Brewers are
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: not honoring it. When did that change? uh within the
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: it happened yesterday they said hundreds of holders tried to
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: redeem their passes instead of premier seats the team offered
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: upper deck terrace level seats or standing room only options
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: How crappy is that? That is crappy. Totally crappy. The
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: team's response was from COO Rick Schlesinger, apologize for the
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: internal communication and seating mix-up. To make amends, the team
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: announced that affected fans get to keep their World Series
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: seats and retain their timeless ticket to use for future
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: regular season or postseason game. I call BS. That's ridiculous.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: I call absolute BS on that.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: If I spent a thousand bucks for this, sorry, Brewers, inflation,
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: it's now worth three and I want my money back.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: Now a number of the fans are saying we're boycotting.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: We're going to boycott the Brewers. And I'm like, man,
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: let that turmoil happen up there. Maybe this changes my mind. See, exactly.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: I think when you do something like that and you
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: do that to your fan base and now your fan
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: base is irate over what's going on, which they should
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: be irate because this was promised by the team. Doesn't
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: matter how long ago it was, but it was promised
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: by the team. Honor what you offered. And now I
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: think that's going to jinx the Brewers. It might. There
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: you go.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: That's the type of thing you see in sports that
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: it does flip the script sometimes.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: Yes, it does. I'm telling you, something might be brewing.
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: I see what you did there. You like that, don't you? Yeah,
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: something's brewing. So there you go. Kid enters a pumpkin
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: pie contest. Okay. He made it to the second round.
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: He only did it because he was hungry and the
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: pie was free. And the other part is he hates
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: pumpkin pie, but he was so hungry he wanted pie.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: How do you like that? So he didn't win. He
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: made it to the second round, but he didn't win.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: 13 years old. I mean, come on, man. I could
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: not do that with pumpkin pie. I don't care how
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: hungry I am. I'm not eating pumpkin pie. I could
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: do that with pecan pie.
- 1:30:51Speaker 6: Oh, gross.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: That's even worse. Or chocolate pie. Oh, really?
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: Like a mud pie?
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Or a derby. What's the derby pie? Yeah, it's derby pie.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Derby pie? Yeah, I like derby pie. I like my
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: wife's derby pie more than the original derby pie. Well,
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: tell her to prove it. Oh, really? Oh, somebody wants
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: some free pie is what I hear. We got to take.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I mean, if it's that good. It's pretty good. Yeah,
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: she does not hold back on the bourbon either. So yeah,
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: let's do it on air then. Oh, Oh yeah. You
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: like that. Uh, but no, I, I, I told you
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: what I liked and you said pecan pie is the
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: one you want.
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: Either that or I could probably smash a lot of
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: cherry pie too.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: Cherry pie. Okay. Wasn't that a song by the way?
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: I forget who the band. That's it. Yep. Yep.
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: Yep. Yep. That's enough. Thank you. Uh, but, uh, yeah. Uh,
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: biggest show in Finland was announced, uh, yesterday, uh, Are
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: you ready for what the biggest show is on TV? Oh, boy.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: It is a live stream of puppies. And that's it.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: I can get behind that. Can you really? I watch.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: And when I'm at the other station a lot, we've
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: been having some TV issues. So I'll have to put
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: something on the computer and move it up to the TV.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: But I'll put live streams of Africa on sometimes or
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: a bird feeder because my boss is big into birds.
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: So I'll put a live stream of a bird feeder,
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: and she just loves it.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: But there's this one, and I don't know where it is,
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: but we always get like foxes and badgers walk up.
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: So that's the one we watch the most. Oh, is
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: it really?
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: I love it. My cats go nuts when I put
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: on my iPad cat TV where it shows squirrels and birds. Oh,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: they watch it. I'm not kidding. They'll sit there for
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: a good 45 minutes.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: There is a show on Netflix that was catered towards
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: dogs and their vision. We put it on for Jeter
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: a couple days ago. Yeah, he couldn't care less.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: Couldn't care less. Patrick texted in, hoping for the Tampa
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: Bay Rays win tonight and Kentucky on Saturday. So am I.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: So that set the tone if the Rays can go
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: up there and win the first game. All right, UK
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Vanderbilt tomorrow. What are you predicting? What are you thinking?
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: Who's going to be player of the game? I'm going
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: big win, 41-17. Wow. I'll go.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: Let's go Kentucky Darby. Really? Yeah. I like how you
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: just called him Kentucky Darby. That's pretty cool right there.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: That's what they've been calling him on TV. I didn't
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: realize that. Okay, well, see, I think it's going to
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: be a big game for Kenny Minchie. I think UK's
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: going to win by 28-13, and that's going to be
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: my prediction right there. And Kenny Darby, good Lord, Kenny
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: Minchie's going to be player of the game. So he's
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: going to be SEC player of the week. That's how
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: good of a game he's going to have. How do
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: you like that? There you go. You like them apples,
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: it's going to be fun. The basketball cats squeaked by tonight. Oh,
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: do they really? Yeah. I'm with you. I think they
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: go win by three or four points, but we'll talk
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: about it all on Monday. It's been a fun week, Justin.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: I appreciate it. Appreciate you listening. Appreciate all the texts, everybody.
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: We'll see you Monday. Kentucky's going to be 7-1. We'll
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: see you then. We'll see you then.
