- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to do wall daily, presented by Jen Jag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Thursday, August seventh.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: So Jaguar's training camp practice number twelve in the books.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: This was the final practice before the Jaguar's take the field Saturday night at Everbank Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers for their preseason week one opener.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go over everything we saw at practice today.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen spoke to the media after practice and yes, Jaguar starters.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody that is available will play Saturday night.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: How long they will play?
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: That remains to be determined.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: I would guess the starters not very long.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter will play both sides.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: So fans are gonna get to see a little bit of a show Saturday night for the Jacksonville Jack Wars and the preseason opener.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: But right now we're gonna talk about everything I saw at training camp practice number twelve was a little bit of a shorter practice today getting ready for Saturday night, no pads.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe a little bit less hitting but overall I thought
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: It was energetic from both sides, I think that there was some back and forth, and we're gonna dive into it.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.

- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dooval gear, help support the channel further.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, Mason Smith, still off to the side.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Still no Caleb, Brandsaw, still no Buster Brown, still no
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: J. Limon Cloud, those guys are all week to week.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe out for training camp, et cetera.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lannon didn't see him out there.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's out for training camp.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Armstrong stood still not seeing him at practice right now.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: So last time I saw him was Friday night.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: For the scrimmage, he was not dressed in uniform, he was just in street clothes, so we'll see what's up with Eric at some point, hopefully he can get back, right?
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter did play both sides today again started out with the teal practice jersey and then just threw on the white penny when he went to the defensive side of the ball.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's exactly what they need to do moving forward because it's just more time efficient to throw on the white penny versus actually switching jerseys every time.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: So very good with that.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Getting into the team portion of practice again, this was a shorter practice.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: It was nine to about ten thirty.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Usually you're talking about like, eight, forty to ten, thirty, something like that.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: So just a little bit shorter.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was cool out there today.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of cloud cover.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: So not too much heat.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Getting into team.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: The jack's offense.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: came out scorching early.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: The defense looked a little bit low energy, looked like a defense that was just ready for Saturday night.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Because going into this practice, the team already knew that they were going to play Saturday night.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: And so, looked like a defense that wasn't all in on full effort, but then they turned the heat up.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: The defense did.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: The defense came back and made it a hard fought practice.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I would still say the offense one the day because of how strongly they started.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: But it defense fought back.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that's exactly what you want to see.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: Early on, the Jags run game.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it was not a padded practice, but you still had physicality and
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack's Run game was getting done at a really high clip.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: It was like every single run the runner was getting to the second or third level without being touched.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's one thing in an unpatited practice for it to look like, oh, running back bounced off a couple of tackles and looked like he had a nice run.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: That really is not going to tell you much because it's like wood that tackler have actually been able to get the runner to the ground or not.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: But when a running back is getting to the second or third level untouched,
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: That is a good sign for the rushing attack and a bad sign for the run defense.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the Jaguar's run defense is going to be really strong this year, but the Jags rushing attack was bringing it early on in practice.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: They had a really nice run concept with Travis ETN to start practice, to start the team portion of practice.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: I can't go into it.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Details wise, but it was a fun play.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: and it picked up a tonney yard so that E.T.N easily got to the third level.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: Bigsby on the next run was untouched to the third level.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: Bigsby on his next run was untouched to the second level.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Another strong run from Travis E.T.N after that.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think every running back early on in this practice had at least one run where they got to the second level untouched.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Now some of that was just really good blocking.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Some of it was a runner utilizing good blocking and maybe putting on a move, jump cutting, reading the blocking out very well and making a nice play of themselves.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: But again, I think all the running backs had really good moments today.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think Tank Biggsby just had a great day overall.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: Bottom line.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvon Walker finally, I think got like the first decent run defense play where he had a run stuff.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: A couple other notes BJ Green had a sack.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's his second sack this week, so somebody that's trying to make a name for himself a little bit here.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: Rookie out of Colorado, Travis Hunter's former teammate, current teammate.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Mullins through an interception on a Hail Mary was in the end of half type of thing.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: So like, I don't think you get upset at Nick Mullins for throwing that interception, right?
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Because you have to throw it into the in zone.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I did not see who intercepted it.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever did intercept it could host to them.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: Great play by them.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: So you can get, you know, excited for what the defense did on that play because they did their job.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Mullins had to throw it up in that situation.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: He did, and he got intercepted.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: So it is what it is.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Chad Mooma had a would be sack today.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned the running backs.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that two in Jackson and Allen all had had nice plays as the kind of two, three, four, five are asking me three, four, five running backs.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously right now it's bigs me an E.T.N.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: as you're one and two.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I thought those guys all did good.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: The run defense did tighten up a little bit throughout practice.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think Biggs be again, continue to have a strong practice.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: ETA and had a really nice catch and run.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson had a catch and run.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: Allen had a catch and run.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think Tutan did too.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, it was all over in terms of those running backs making plays today.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a good sign for them.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Getting into what Trevor Lawrence did today, he was thirteen of twenty-one, with two touchdown passes, no interceptions, we'll go through it right now.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: He started this practice seven of seven in team.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: He was scorching.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, Rundiefen wasn't really bringing it.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Bass coverage looked like they weren't getting the job done for a while.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: He ended up thirteen of twenty one so he slowed down a lot from that point and we'll talk about it all but his first completion was a nice shot down the field to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: probably like fifteen twenty yards down the field over the middle.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Do we win or did have a unblocked pressure on that so would he have made that play with Lawrence have sidesteped in the way he did don't know but good throw by Lawrence to to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: to get things started then Parker Washington
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Lawrence on the move, Parker Washington was able to extend up and all in a really nice catch to get Lawrence to two of two.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: He hit Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: again for like fifteen more yards.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Then he hit the army brown on a touchdown.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: It was a contested grab right at the goal line.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: It was a touchdown there for Brian Tom, excuse me, the army brown and Trevor Lawrence to get to four of four.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: He then completed a pass to Travis Hunter.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Then completed two straight passes to Britain Strange.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: Seven of seven.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: First in completion was a deep shot to the army round, which was a little too deep, very tight coverage from Jarian Jones, who continues to play very well.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: He then missed Travis Hunter, which it was almost a perfect throw, and almost a perfect diving attempt fully extended attempt where only Travis Hunter could get it, but it was just a little bit too much.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: And he couldn't quite haul it in, even though he did get at least one hand on it.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: He then had a really, really nice throw to Diami Brown.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: So there was two straight-in completions, both of them were just taking shots.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: This was, and there might have been throws where I just didn't see the anticipation on it as much, but Trevor Lawrence threw the ball way before Diami made his break.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then when Diami made his break, the ball was right there in Diami holiday.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: And when you're throwing with that much anticipation, that's a really good sign.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: That was, that was awesome.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: eight of ten at that point.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Then he threw one to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: at the goal line one on one with Tyson Campbell.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: You throw it up.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: Expect Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: to come down with it.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell got the PPU.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Great play by Tyson.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: Those are two guys that go at it in practice every single day.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, that does mean Brian Thomas Jr.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: was back from his illness for out to mention that earlier.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: felt eight of twelve targeting Travis Hunter in the end zone.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: And this was one that was definitely a turnover worthy play.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis should have intercepted it.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: And after he didn't intercept it and fell to the ground, he was like, dang sure to have that.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: And he should have.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: And he's the type of guy that makes that play probably nine times out of ten.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Probably a throw.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor shouldn't have made or either that or Hunter was not at the right depth to one of the two.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Testing Jordan Lewis in these tight spaces in the red zone, around the goal line, and the flat, intermediate.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's tough.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about it.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: He has really tough to complete passes on in those situations.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Then completed a pass after that two Travis Hunter, which was cool.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: After that, Jarian Jones locked up Brian Thomas Jr.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: and Hunter was wide open on that play.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter was.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: So it would have been a little bit of a read.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: He saw Trevor Lewis saw one on one cover as Brian Thomas, Jr.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: vs. Jarring Jones.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: It said I'm taking my shot.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: Hard to blame him for that.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: Usually that's gonna work out.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think is proven that he is definitely more of a gamer than just a practice showing out all the time at practice, right?
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: So good coverage again by Jarring Jones.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Then Felton nine and fifteen gave Travis Hunter a chance to go up for it on the opposite sideline could not he went up and got it Jordan Lewis was closest there he got there and kind of made it difficult but Hunter couldn't maintain control of the ball through the ground so these are a couple plays probably two three plays where it's like Lawrence gave his guy a shot his guy didn't come down with it
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have nine of sixteen, it was a tipped pass at the line.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: It was either Jordan Jefferson or Traybaum Walker, I couldn't tell who it was.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Next one was a completion to Travis E.T.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: and it was a short throw, but it was a big gain, big gainer for sure.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then a shot to Britain strange for a touchdown from a good distance out.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: Britain strange got wide open.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen that.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen them able to hit the tight ends down the field several times and several times has been wide open like that.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: So that's something to keep an eye on for sure.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was eleven of eighteen at that point.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Then got to twelve of nineteen a fifteen plus yard gain on a roll out to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: Then a Travis Hunter drop.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: is what it is.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: And then a completion to Johnny Month for his final throw of the day, short completion to Johnny Month.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: So finished, thirteen of twenty one, two touchdowns, no interceptions, one turnover worthy play, one drop.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: overall solid day I thought there was a couple times where maybe he could have taken an easier throw where he went and gave his guy an opportunity to go up and get it one on one and the guys just didn't come down with it so it is what it is not a big deal Trevor Lawrence to me this is you know like the end of training camp in the start of preseason at this point so going into preseason he's one hundred thirty nine of two hundred ten
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty-two touchdown passes, four interceptions, eight drops, two turnover worthy plays.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, I think, had his best training camp of his career so far, and he did that with working on so much stuff, mechanically, footwork wise, mentally, and working without Christian Kirk, without Evan Ingram, and with new guys.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty good, pretty good camp from Trevor Lawrence in my opinion.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he still would admit that he's got a long way to go in this offense.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: All the guys do.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's about a month until regular season kick off.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: So they're going to be working at getting this right and getting ready for week one.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: First things first, preseason week one, is this Saturday for the Jaguars and everybody's gonna play.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody that's healthy is gonna play according to Liam Cohen.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: So get your popcorn ready.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
